- 0:05Speaker 1: Welcome to Just the Cats with Michael Bennett.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Hello, Big Blue Nation, Welcome to Just the Cats. My
- 0:16Speaker 2: name is Michael Bennett. On this Thursday, July ninth. I
- 0:20Speaker 2: hope everybody's having a good day. I don't know why
- 0:22Speaker 2: I was expecting hump Day again, but I just I
- 0:25Speaker 2: don't know why. I can no, no, no, no, we
- 0:27Speaker 2: do it. It's not hump Day. No, you can't do
- 0:28Speaker 2: it when it's not hump Day. I mean it's Friday. Yeah,
- 0:32Speaker 2: it is for you, that's for certain, and it isn't
- 0:34Speaker 2: for me. But anyway, you're you're off tomorrow and we're
- 0:40Speaker 2: trying to figure out what I'm going to be doing,
- 0:42Speaker 2: so I might have to travel tomorrow, but I'm trying
- 0:44Speaker 2: to figure out and want to have a show or not.
- 0:46Speaker 2: But hopefully we do. But if we don't, uh, i'll
- 0:49Speaker 2: see you Monday and you'll be back Monday. Where are
- 0:51Speaker 2: you off to? By the way, So we are going
- 0:54Speaker 2: to Dayton tonight. That's where my dad's twin lives. So
- 0:57Speaker 2: we stay. Oh, that's where you went up for the
- 0:59Speaker 2: graduation too. Wasn't you went to a baseball game? And okay,
- 1:02Speaker 2: all right exactly.
- 1:03Speaker 3: So we typically every year we actually normally, I feel like,
- 1:06Speaker 3: leave on Wednesday and we'll play golf on Thursday and Friday,
- 1:12Speaker 3: and then we're in a big scramble for cancer on Saturday.
- 1:16Speaker 3: We we do this every summer, so normally we will
- 1:20Speaker 3: play the two days before the scramble. But this year
- 1:22Speaker 3: we're going up today, We're gonna play tomorrow. Well they're
- 1:25Speaker 3: gonna play tomorrow. I think I'm gonna sit down.
- 1:27Speaker 2: So this is a golf tournament that is for cancer,
- 1:31Speaker 2: not against cancer. Correct, that's interesting. I have never heard
- 1:34Speaker 2: that before. So it's like pro cancer.
- 1:37Speaker 4: What, oh my god?
- 1:41Speaker 3: And that's been just the cats. Fine, come on, yes,
- 1:47Speaker 3: it's for cancer.
- 1:48Speaker 4: Is it really? What kind? Is there a specific?
- 1:51Speaker 3: I think it's like it's one of those scrambles that
- 1:55Speaker 3: they do it to honor somebody. So every like every year,
- 1:59Speaker 3: somebody different is being honored for the scriptble.
- 2:02Speaker 4: So yeah, that's nice.
- 2:04Speaker 2: Yeah, there's one for a really good friend of mine,
- 2:06Speaker 2: her husband coming I believe in September. Well, I'll talk
- 2:10Speaker 2: more about later because I told her I would promote
- 2:12Speaker 2: it for her for free. And her name is Debbie Self.
- 2:16Speaker 2: You remember the name Debbie Self. She owned the bar.
- 2:20Speaker 2: Oh what was it called shoot by the airport. Huh yeah,
- 2:26Speaker 2: by the airport Stooges. That's it, the one that's no longer.
- 2:30Speaker 2: And the unfortunate part is UPS. Nobody's doing anything for
- 2:36Speaker 2: all these businesses over there, and of course the media
- 2:39Speaker 2: has soon since forgotten all about it, and here they
- 2:42Speaker 2: are still completely out of business. All these people have
- 2:46Speaker 2: lost their jobs. It's really a shame. But I wish UPS,
- 2:50Speaker 2: and now UPS is threatening to leave Louisville if there's
- 2:52Speaker 2: any kind of lawsuits. It's like, okay, but take care
- 2:56Speaker 2: of the people that you destroyed their business, some of
- 3:00Speaker 2: them their lives forever, and and just do what's right.
- 3:03Speaker 4: UPS. Would would we be okay losing them? No?
- 3:08Speaker 2: Would Well Kentucky would be devastated, and so would the
- 3:13Speaker 2: city of Louisville if they lost UPS. I mean, that's
- 3:16Speaker 2: that's been my biggest criticism about it. And I don't
- 3:19Speaker 2: want to get into politics, but that's been my biggest
- 3:21Speaker 2: criticism about the leadership we have in the state. We
- 3:24Speaker 2: continue we might get a few jobs every now and then,
- 3:28Speaker 2: but we continue to lose corporate businesses in this state.
- 3:32Speaker 4: And no, we can't afford to lose UPS. You just
- 3:35Speaker 4: lost young.
- 3:36Speaker 2: You've lost Papa John's, You've lost all these other corporations
- 3:39Speaker 2: here that have a human is now gone.
- 3:42Speaker 4: Uh, it's all remote.
- 3:43Speaker 2: The big pink build marble building downtown is completely empty
- 3:47Speaker 2: that they're supposedly turning into a hotel. But yeah, but
- 3:51Speaker 2: I mean, you just it's a shame what has happened
- 3:53Speaker 2: to the state and to the city. And a lot
- 3:57Speaker 2: of people still like these people and guests refuse to
- 4:00Speaker 2: see that the business side of the state of Kentucky
- 4:04Speaker 2: and the city of Louisville is just it's not where
- 4:06Speaker 2: it used to be or where it was on its
- 4:08Speaker 2: way to go.
- 4:09Speaker 4: It's a shame.
- 4:10Speaker 2: I mean, I look at Indiananapolis, I look at Cincinnati
- 4:13Speaker 2: for a little bit, and I look at Nashville, Tennessee,
- 4:17Speaker 2: and they're just booming with business. And two and a
- 4:20Speaker 2: half hours north of Nashville, we're hurting for anything, and
- 4:24Speaker 2: and no sight of any kind of corporate offices moving
- 4:28Speaker 2: a little And now you got me started, So let's
- 4:30Speaker 2: get let's get off of that. Let's talk sports, okay,
- 4:33Speaker 2: or anything else other than that. No, we don't, but summertime. Listen,
- 4:37Speaker 2: the funny part is I love summertime. Conversations because we
- 4:41Speaker 2: talk about anything. It's not like we have to be well.
- 4:44Speaker 2: I do that too when the UK's playing, but in
- 4:47Speaker 2: season yeah, I know, I know. Before Matthew left he
- 4:51Speaker 2: was telling me, yeah, that your show is interesting, it's
- 4:53Speaker 2: not just all sports, and he goes, and I really
- 4:56Speaker 2: like it and he goes. But but anyway, I I
- 5:00Speaker 2: just I like having things where we talk about other things,
- 5:04Speaker 2: not just UK and not just sports.
- 5:07Speaker 4: I like talk about all kinds of things.
- 5:08Speaker 2: I've got a couple of times say that are completely
- 5:11Speaker 2: off of sports.
- 5:12Speaker 4: But because I enjoyed that, wee ten.
- 5:15Speaker 3: I can give you a Netflix suggestion. Oh really, you
- 5:19Speaker 3: have a Netflix suggestion right now? Because I think there's
- 5:23Speaker 3: a lot of really good shows on right now that
- 5:27Speaker 3: I haven't watched. I've had so many people tell me, oh,
- 5:29Speaker 3: you gotta go watch it, you got to watch this,
- 5:30Speaker 3: and I haven't. I haven't taken the time to do it. Right.
- 5:33Speaker 4: What is your Netflix suggestion?
- 5:34Speaker 3: Not just a Netflix suggestion, but a historical one. And
- 5:38Speaker 3: you know I like it. You know how I feel
- 5:40Speaker 3: about history.
- 5:41Speaker 4: I hate it.
- 5:42Speaker 3: You can't stand it, right, But this this documentary three
- 5:46Speaker 3: part series. Each episode is like an hour and a
- 5:48Speaker 3: half long but okay, called Booze, Bets and Sex That
- 5:52Speaker 3: Built America. Holy cow, what a name. Unbelievably good. Really yeah,
- 5:59Speaker 3: so I go. They're like, I mean you'll you'll learn
- 6:02Speaker 3: everything from like how cigarettes started to alcohol to gambling
- 6:06Speaker 3: to how Las Vegas ended up being built.
- 6:08Speaker 4: Like it was fascinating. Hugh Henscher was.
- 6:12Speaker 3: A part of it, and how Playboy and all that
- 6:14Speaker 3: got started.
- 6:15Speaker 4: It was nuts. It's really really good.
- 6:18Speaker 2: There's another show, How America Built It or something like that.
- 6:21Speaker 2: Have you ever seen that show? I think it's on
- 6:24Speaker 2: It's on like History Channel or something like that. William Shatner, No,
- 6:28Speaker 2: I don't think so, but uh, and it's how they
- 6:31Speaker 2: build things. Always love that the one I probably the
- 6:35Speaker 2: only one and only reality Well, there's a couple of
- 6:37Speaker 2: reality shows I really like. I love American Pickers. I
- 6:40Speaker 2: don't know why I do, but I love that show
- 6:43Speaker 2: and the other one, which has been off for a
- 6:46Speaker 2: while now.
- 6:47Speaker 4: But no, there's a there's a third one too.
- 6:49Speaker 2: I love this show that used to be on where
- 6:52Speaker 2: guys would go and repossess not cars, but they would
- 6:56Speaker 2: repossess private airplanes.
- 6:59Speaker 4: And it was wild to watch that show.
- 7:02Speaker 2: I can't remember the name of it, but sometimes they
- 7:05Speaker 2: would repossess yachts that people weren't paying their their monthly
- 7:09Speaker 2: bills that they were supposed to be paying, so they
- 7:11Speaker 2: went and repossessed mostly jets and some kind of private airplane.
- 7:16Speaker 4: I thought it was awesome.
- 7:17Speaker 2: I know, you gotta believe probably ninety five percent of
- 7:22Speaker 2: it was scripted. But just to watch them go get
- 7:25Speaker 2: the jet, how they had to hide from airport security,
- 7:29Speaker 2: I'm like, well, shouldn't you just go tell airport security
- 7:32Speaker 2: these people are behind on their bills. Yeah, this is
- 7:35Speaker 2: why you're doing it, and then just take repossessed. That's
- 7:38Speaker 2: why it is. They're trying to make it suspenseful. The
- 7:41Speaker 2: other one was that ice. It was a airplane. No,
- 7:49Speaker 2: it was an airplane company up in Alaska that would
- 7:55Speaker 2: they would fly all over Alaska and deliver people, deliver
- 7:59Speaker 2: some lies, all kinds of stuff. That one was fascinating
- 8:02Speaker 2: to me too. I don't remember what that one was called,
- 8:05Speaker 2: but that one was good. So yeah, you know, they're
- 8:08Speaker 2: they're they're coming up with other Alaska ones just because
- 8:11Speaker 2: of the success of the uh crab one.
- 8:15Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean Alaskan bush people was pretty yeah popular, too,
- 8:20Speaker 3: but I heard I listen.
- 8:24Speaker 2: Is there a reality score show that's not scripted? I
- 8:27Speaker 2: think all of them are probably. I think Osburn's, I
- 8:31Speaker 2: think Hulk Hogan's was. I think Kardashian definitely was that was.
- 8:36Speaker 2: I don't know how people got in the Kardashian thing,
- 8:39Speaker 2: but I think I think every bit of them are
- 8:44Speaker 2: scripted ninety five percent of the time probably. So yeah,
- 8:48Speaker 2: it's it's like, oh, we have to have drama, we
- 8:50Speaker 2: have to have and it's all the same thing. It's
- 8:52Speaker 2: kind of like what happened to the ESPN and Game Day.
- 8:55Speaker 2: It's just it's the same show, different location, every single week,
- 8:59Speaker 2: and it's the same characters, and it's just, Oh, you
- 9:02Speaker 2: gotta have a sad You've heard me talk about this.
- 9:03Speaker 4: You gotta have a sad story. Uh.
- 9:06Speaker 2: And then oh, let's get the crowd into it. Oh
- 9:08Speaker 2: let's stand on a chair in a desk and get
- 9:10Speaker 2: the crowd. Do you see my big belt buckle in
- 9:13Speaker 2: my cowboy boots and I wear a T shirt under
- 9:16Speaker 2: my blazer.
- 9:17Speaker 4: It's like, Okay, how did this go from you?
- 9:19Speaker 3: I don't know. Pat McAfee just well, that's what you
- 9:28Speaker 3: don't like, what you don't like I know that. Well,
- 9:31Speaker 3: I'm sure he's a very nice guy. Just he's just
- 9:35Speaker 3: it's all about him. I just don't because of him.
- 9:38Speaker 3: I stopped watching Game Day because of him. Uh, I don't.
- 9:42Speaker 2: I'm not a big fan of Reese whatever his name is.
- 9:45Speaker 2: I like Fowler. When Fowler was leaning game Day, that's
- 9:48Speaker 2: when I loved it the most. Miss Fowler was great.
- 9:51Speaker 4: He's needed in the booth.
- 9:54Speaker 3: He's much better on playoff play. I agree he's great
- 9:58Speaker 3: at play by play, but I thought as far as
- 10:00Speaker 3: Game Day, he was the best host.
- 10:03Speaker 2: I think I liked him the most. He's okay, I mean,
- 10:07Speaker 2: he's another guy that but my entire point, yes exactly,
- 10:13Speaker 2: he's a duet. I still like the other characters on there,
- 10:17Speaker 2: but now Saban, I don't get the whole Saban thing.
- 10:21Speaker 2: He has no personality. Seriously, I mean, he is very
- 10:26Speaker 2: insightful and he clearly knows football, but he's boring, so
- 10:32Speaker 2: I did. The only part that I enjoyed the most
- 10:35Speaker 2: was when the comedian came on started saying that you know,
- 10:37Speaker 2: you paid players forever and he didn't think it was funny.
- 10:40Speaker 2: I thought that was awesome TV right there, and the way,
- 10:43Speaker 2: he responded, told me everything I needed to know. So uh, anyway,
- 10:47Speaker 2: what a crazy way to start a ridiculous show. But
- 10:49Speaker 2: any uh, let's talk about UK basketball for a couple
- 10:52Speaker 2: of minutes because a few things happened yesterday. Number one,
- 10:57Speaker 2: Mark Pope was on a on a different show.
- 10:59Speaker 4: He's on k s R. Yesterday.
- 11:00Speaker 2: He had a few things to say that I thought
- 11:02Speaker 2: were interesting. I know, but I did. It's gonna be today?
- 11:07Speaker 2: Is gonna be nice?
- 11:08Speaker 3: Michael Bennett? Okay, do you really do it? You're nice?
- 11:13Speaker 3: I thought, am I you normally never say those letters?
- 11:19Speaker 4: Okay, well I did?
- 11:20Speaker 2: Okay, so uh, but but you know, the host and
- 11:24Speaker 2: I are very good friends, and so uh I've always listen.
- 11:28Speaker 3: I will say, I admire him. He's done a great job.
- 11:30Speaker 3: So uh, and that's about the is that gonna? I
- 11:34Speaker 3: wasn't on when when all this went down? Well will
- 11:36Speaker 3: that continue with him? Yes, making that move.
- 11:40Speaker 2: I'm so glad we're promoting this. But yes, according to
- 11:43Speaker 2: what I heard Cord, according to a good friend of
- 11:47Speaker 2: mine that is on that show as well, he said, yes,
- 11:49Speaker 2: so everything is thank the Lord saved there.
- 11:52Speaker 4: So but yes, but good for him, I mean, that's
- 11:55Speaker 4: that's great. I listen.
- 11:57Speaker 2: I congratulations to Matt Jones and congratulations to him and
- 12:01Speaker 2: his success, and I wish him nothing but the best.
- 12:04Speaker 2: Just stay away from me. But I shouldn't have said that.
- 12:08Speaker 2: Now you can always come up and say hello to me.
- 12:10Speaker 2: I'll be glad to talk to you and have a
- 12:12Speaker 2: two second artificial conversation with you.
- 12:14Speaker 4: So but no, I congratulate him.
- 12:18Speaker 2: He does a clearly, he does a great job, and
- 12:22Speaker 2: he's a very good interviewer, and you'll always hear accolades
- 12:25Speaker 2: for me as far as his work.
- 12:27Speaker 3: Actually, meant to go back and listen to that interview yesterday,
- 12:29Speaker 3: I completely forgot, did you.
- 12:31Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 12:32Speaker 2: Well I didn't listen to it either, only read about it,
- 12:36Speaker 2: so uh me, Really, I just read a few things.
- 12:40Speaker 2: And the part that really stuck out to me, or
- 12:43Speaker 2: a couple of things. Number one is that he would
- 12:49Speaker 2: go back and do it all over again with last
- 12:52Speaker 2: year's team. That's the one part that I found really surprising,
- 12:58Speaker 2: that the fact that he would run it back. Are
- 13:01Speaker 2: you surprised? Maybe I'm not surprised he said it, But
- 13:05Speaker 2: do you think he meant it?
- 13:08Speaker 3: Yes, I'll say yes, because really, without hearing the quote
- 13:14Speaker 3: he said, we I'll tell you the quote right now
- 13:16Speaker 3: before you comment.
- 13:17Speaker 2: He goes, we just didn't get to see it. I
- 13:22Speaker 2: say all this all the time. We got to see
- 13:25Speaker 2: them for seventeen minutes in the second half against Saint John's,
- 13:28Speaker 2: which is true. And even in that scenario, you were
- 13:31Speaker 2: seeing guys that never practiced together, that never got to develop.
- 13:34Speaker 2: I think about j LO and JQ a lot. They
- 13:37Speaker 2: changed the way our team could function on the floor,
- 13:40Speaker 2: and so the upside with those guys was so elite.
- 13:45Speaker 3: I mean, that's the exact quote that I was kind
- 13:47Speaker 3: of looking for there, because I agree with Mark Pope.
- 13:51Speaker 3: If you are a Jesus Pete, if you're able to
- 13:55Speaker 3: avoid the injuries and have a full bill of health
- 13:58Speaker 3: for the whole season, does last year turn out the
- 14:01Speaker 3: way it does? No, it admittedly is a lot better.
- 14:05Speaker 3: And I think seeing JQ in that Saint John's game
- 14:08Speaker 3: tells us that how much of a difference maker he was,
- 14:11Speaker 3: And we know how much Jalen Lowe was a difference
- 14:14Speaker 3: maker when he was playing his best and healthy. So
- 14:17Speaker 3: I don't disagree with that. You've got to you've got
- 14:20Speaker 3: to have trust in what you did as a coach
- 14:23Speaker 3: and the guys you recruited. And so I don't hate
- 14:26Speaker 3: Mark Pope coming out and saying this at all, because
- 14:28Speaker 3: those circumstances could have been a lot different and the
- 14:30Speaker 3: season turns out a lot different.
- 14:33Speaker 2: Well, but I think my follow up question would be
- 14:36Speaker 2: right after that, it's like, Okay, would you take a
- 14:39Speaker 2: risk and bring in a player that's coming off an
- 14:41Speaker 2: injury again? And see, I think that would tell you
- 14:44Speaker 2: everything if he truly means he would run it back.
- 14:47Speaker 2: You're bringing back Jayden Quaintance back here with the risk
- 14:51Speaker 2: of not being ready for the season. Yeah, And that's
- 14:54Speaker 2: where I kind of question you would really run it
- 14:57Speaker 2: back with this team knowing that Jaden Quaintan's has that
- 15:00Speaker 2: injury and it's just gonna happen all over again.
- 15:03Speaker 3: So him saying he's gonna run it back doesn't mean
- 15:06Speaker 3: that he wouldn't change some things along the way, Like
- 15:08Speaker 3: do you do you bring Jayden Clayton's back as quickly
- 15:11Speaker 3: as you did?
- 15:12Speaker 4: Maybe not?
- 15:12Speaker 3: Do you bring Jalen Lowe out for the second half
- 15:16Speaker 3: of that game after he had gotten injured and then
- 15:19Speaker 3: he reinjures it. Probably not? So there's gonna be things
- 15:22Speaker 3: you change along the way. Yeah, but I I I'm
- 15:28Speaker 3: to the point where I believe you don't bring a
- 15:30Speaker 3: player in here again.
- 15:31Speaker 2: And I would have to think that Mark Pope is like,
- 15:34Speaker 2: I'm not bringing in another player and taking that risk again.
- 15:37Speaker 2: I've done it once and if I did it again,
- 15:40Speaker 2: it's gonna be fools gold. He didn't do it this year,
- 15:42Speaker 2: So no, he didn't didn't see I think that's uh,
- 15:45Speaker 2: I think that's but who was out there that was injured?
- 15:47Speaker 2: That would be an elite player coming to Kentucky. So
- 15:50Speaker 2: I don't believe there was anybody out there. So I
- 15:53Speaker 2: and I think the fact that he's got more guards
- 15:55Speaker 2: on this team coming up the season tells you that
- 15:58Speaker 2: I just can't risk a third year the row losing
- 16:00Speaker 2: a guard. I mean, it just it's gotten to a
- 16:03Speaker 2: point of ridiculousness. So you tell me, I'm with you.
- 16:07Speaker 3: No, I mean, I'm with you, but I don't I
- 16:09Speaker 3: don't necessarily disagree with him saying that it's it's fine.
- 16:14Speaker 2: Yeah, Well, uh, I don't know. I just I just
- 16:18Speaker 2: I don't think i'd run it back.
- 16:19Speaker 3: Now.
- 16:20Speaker 2: The other thing is, uh, he took the team yesterday
- 16:23Speaker 2: because they were they weren't going to have a summer trip.
- 16:25Speaker 2: Now all of a sudden, they're having a summer trip
- 16:27Speaker 2: and they're going to Las Vegas.
- 16:29Speaker 3: Oh, so they got the exemption, the ex Yeah, he
- 16:35Speaker 3: had mentioned something about they had to apply for a waiver.
- 16:38Speaker 4: Oh I hadn't heard that. I do because these.
- 16:41Speaker 3: Trips are meant for foreign soil and and you you're
- 16:44Speaker 3: not supposed to be allowed to do them in America.
- 16:47Speaker 3: So they had to apply for a waiver to state.
- 16:49Speaker 2: Okay, well they must say, they must have, So I
- 16:52Speaker 2: didn't realize that. So, yeah, they left yesterday for Las Vegas,
- 16:57Speaker 2: and a couple of things about it. Now, No, we
- 17:00Speaker 2: talked about this yesterday, about them going to Las Vegas.
- 17:03Speaker 4: I don't remember us talking about that.
- 17:07Speaker 2: Oh no, it's me. Never mind, we didn't talk about
- 17:09Speaker 2: it yesterday. It's me reading love it. It was me
- 17:13Speaker 2: talking to myself.
- 17:13Speaker 3: I was just you're right, you're right.
- 17:18Speaker 4: So they go to Las Vegas.
- 17:20Speaker 2: I know, for a guy that's not a gambler like me,
- 17:24Speaker 2: that's not a place I want to go. But I
- 17:26Speaker 2: get it because they're going out there for the summer league,
- 17:29Speaker 2: and they're going out there to see a lot of
- 17:32Speaker 2: the former BBN players and UK players and hook up
- 17:36Speaker 2: with them again, which is nice. And then according to
- 17:40Speaker 2: Mark Pope, a lot of the former players NBA players
- 17:43Speaker 2: come back and they get to practice with some of
- 17:45Speaker 2: these people. So I think that's kind of fun because
- 17:47Speaker 2: he did mention they're gonna get up early and do
- 17:49Speaker 2: a lot of practicing and get to play with some
- 17:51Speaker 2: of the Summer League players, which I think is good
- 17:53Speaker 2: and see how this team comes together.
- 17:55Speaker 4: I just that part I understand.
- 17:57Speaker 2: But as far as going to Las Vegas for anything else,
- 18:00Speaker 2: it's just not a place I'm interested in.
- 18:02Speaker 3: Let's just hope they don't get drug tested when they
- 18:04Speaker 3: get back, because they will all fail.
- 18:08Speaker 4: Why would you say something like that, because they will.
- 18:11Speaker 4: Have you been to Vegas lately? No? Nor do I
- 18:15Speaker 4: want to go to smoke? Idiot of it? Oh? Really
- 18:19Speaker 4: is it bad? Oh? The whole city smells like weed?
- 18:23Speaker 2: Well, you know, I'm in Denver right now. I'm kind
- 18:25Speaker 2: of surprised. I figured i'd be smelling it everywhere here,
- 18:28Speaker 2: by the way, yet I've yet to smell a little
- 18:30Speaker 2: bit of.
- 18:31Speaker 4: It with you being in Denver.
- 18:33Speaker 3: Ye is that a sunshine light behind you that I've
- 18:37Speaker 3: been looking at on that on that board there, Oh
- 18:42Speaker 3: other side of you is that that's actually the sun
- 18:46Speaker 3: coming through. It is five twenty five in the morning, there,
- 18:49Speaker 3: is it not it's six twenty five. Okay, so they're
- 18:52Speaker 3: two hours. Yeah, it's just two hour difference. Yeah. Yeah.
- 18:55Speaker 4: So I was like, the how's the sun already up? No? No, no,
- 18:59Speaker 4: And the weird part of Denver.
- 19:00Speaker 2: If I go over here and take you to show
- 19:02Speaker 2: you outside downtown, I'm staying in a hotel downtown Denver,
- 19:06Speaker 2: and uh, uh, don't ask me where because I'm not
- 19:10Speaker 2: gonna tell you because it's gonna you're gonna make fun
- 19:12Speaker 2: of me. So please don't ask me where I'm staying. No,
- 19:15Speaker 2: it's a very nice hotel. But let's just leave it. Yeah,
- 19:18Speaker 2: it's a it's a days in let's just say it's
- 19:20Speaker 2: a dayze in the hour. O pain you by the minute.
- 19:24Speaker 2: But uh, cause you know, you get to a certain age,
- 19:26Speaker 2: you only got a couple of minutes. But there is
- 19:33Speaker 2: nothing going on here. You don't see any people walking around,
- 19:37Speaker 2: you don't see hardly see any cars. And it's a
- 19:40Speaker 2: large downtown. It's kind of weird. Yeah, so everything they
- 19:45Speaker 2: said everything has grown outside of downtown. So I'm just uh,
- 19:49Speaker 2: like three or four blocks away from uh Coors Park,
- 19:54Speaker 2: the baseball field, and then I want to go see,
- 19:57Speaker 2: uh where Mile High Stadium is, and and supposedly they
- 20:02Speaker 2: have a like a small replica in the parking lot
- 20:06Speaker 2: where the actual original Malhai Stadium is. They have a
- 20:10Speaker 2: few of the original bleacher chairs and all that kind
- 20:12Speaker 2: of stuff. I know it sounds dumb, but I grew
- 20:16Speaker 2: up John Elway is the quarterback. I was never a
- 20:22Speaker 2: Broncos fan, but I mean the Broncos were really good
- 20:26Speaker 2: when I was growing up, and I'd just like to
- 20:28Speaker 2: go see where the original Maha Stadium was. You know,
- 20:30Speaker 2: you'd have Monday night football come on and they're at
- 20:32Speaker 2: male High Stadium and it's.
- 20:34Speaker 3: Just kind of cool.
- 20:35Speaker 4: You should go check it out. I'm going to go
- 20:37Speaker 4: check it out.
- 20:38Speaker 3: I wanted to go see where they make Coors Light,
- 20:41Speaker 3: but they only do like twenty people a day to
- 20:45Speaker 3: go tour that, and I'm like, well, I've seen Budweiser
- 20:47Speaker 3: twenty people. You don't like Coors, Like really, okay. A
- 20:53Speaker 3: lot of people say Cours. Have you ever heard him say, oh, yeah,
- 20:56Speaker 3: Cours Cours.
- 20:59Speaker 4: It's cool, is isn't it. I don't know. I love
- 21:02Speaker 4: how some people say that I'd rather drink Ohio Ohio riverwalk.
- 21:06Speaker 4: Would you really?
- 21:07Speaker 3: By the way, have you seen that commer that course
- 21:09Speaker 3: commercial with the Hispanic broadcaster for the World Cup. No,
- 21:13Speaker 3: it's it's like how people say cores around the world,
- 21:17Speaker 3: and it's just him doing his goal call, but instead
- 21:19Speaker 3: of saying doing the goal call, he's saying cool.
- 21:22Speaker 4: I like that. It's pretty good.
- 21:24Speaker 2: That's the one thing about soccer that I will say
- 21:27Speaker 2: I enjoy are the announcers. I think the announcers are
- 21:30Speaker 2: on a an elite level for sure. If if I
- 21:34Speaker 2: had to rank announcers in sports, I probably would say
- 21:41Speaker 2: that soccer announcers are probably the best.
- 21:46Speaker 4: In the business. It's because of their accents.
- 21:49Speaker 3: Oh is that all?
- 21:50Speaker 4: Is that what it is? It's purely their accent.
- 21:53Speaker 3: We we don't hear those accents every day, so then
- 21:55Speaker 3: when you hear them, you're like, oh, hell yeah, this
- 21:57Speaker 3: is awesome. Now.
- 21:59Speaker 2: I know I'm biased about Tom Leech because he's exciting
- 22:02Speaker 2: to me, but there are very few announcers out there
- 22:05Speaker 2: that I really really enjoy listening to doing play by play,
- 22:09Speaker 2: and when those guys are yelling goal.
- 22:11Speaker 4: I just I think it's great.
- 22:13Speaker 2: Tampa Bay Lightning has annount radio announcer just like that.
- 22:16Speaker 2: Oh really and he'll yeah oh he gets real excited
- 22:20Speaker 2: and it's fun to listen to.
- 22:22Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 22:22Speaker 2: Oh yeah, it's really good. But most people will just
- 22:25Speaker 2: turn their TV down and watch the listen to the
- 22:27Speaker 2: radio just like they do UK.
- 22:29Speaker 4: So yeah, oh, we got to take a break.
- 22:32Speaker 2: I know.
- 22:32Speaker 4: I'm sorry.
- 22:33Speaker 2: Five two three eight four fourteen fifty. If you want
- 22:35Speaker 2: to call in five O two four one four fourteen
- 22:37Speaker 2: fifty on a text in on the Whiskey Thief text line,
- 22:40Speaker 2: or you can tweet me at just the Cat Radio.
- 22:43Speaker 2: I uh, we got more to talk about this Las
- 22:45Speaker 2: Vegas trip because the team evidently went to see a
- 22:48Speaker 2: concert last night. I want to talk about the venue
- 22:51Speaker 2: and who they saw. So stay right there. More just
- 22:54Speaker 2: the Cats coming right up.
- 22:59Speaker 5: Wow, don't get job and school, I guess before.
- 23:17Speaker 6: Nothing like this way out in West Texas and Galveston
- 23:22Speaker 6: is a whole other world. My wife in our room
- 23:26Speaker 6: getting over Sunber, I will Leuilla morget.
- 23:31Speaker 4: Me next to that girl. Man, you're going old school today.
- 23:35Speaker 3: I love this good one.
- 23:37Speaker 2: I would say ninety nine point nine percent of the
- 23:40Speaker 2: people listening to this show right now have literally never
- 23:42Speaker 2: heard this song before.
- 23:43Speaker 4: Oh they have, because I've played it once. Oh have
- 23:46Speaker 4: you really? I think I've played that one before. Okay,
- 23:48Speaker 4: all right, then, that's, by the.
- 23:49Speaker 3: Way, very very funny story yesterday. I know you're not
- 23:53Speaker 3: a big Travis kelcey guy, but did you see him talking?
- 23:57Speaker 4: Oh wait a minute, wait what what?
- 23:59Speaker 3: What?
- 23:59Speaker 4: Before you go on? But he's tailor don't like true, so.
- 24:03Speaker 2: That is not true. I like Travis Kelcey. I actually
- 24:07Speaker 2: like his brother more. But here's the unfortunate part with
- 24:10Speaker 2: these two guys. I think they're getting overexposed. Uh and
- 24:14Speaker 2: their podcast is unbelievably funny. I do enjoy that, but
- 24:19Speaker 2: I just I worry some people get out there and
- 24:22Speaker 2: they get overexposed and people get tired of them.
- 24:24Speaker 3: But then that's what's happened with Pat McAfee. I thought
- 24:27Speaker 3: he was funny at first, but then he's been everywhere
- 24:30Speaker 3: on every single thing that has just kind of hurt
- 24:32Speaker 3: his image as far as I'm concerned.
- 24:33Speaker 4: But okay, go ahead.
- 24:34Speaker 3: So he shared a funny story yesterday, and I just
- 24:38Speaker 3: want to I want to share with you because it
- 24:39Speaker 3: was Travis Kelsey did Travis Kelcey and it really really
- 24:42Speaker 3: made me laugh, So I'm gonna read it to you.
- 24:44Speaker 3: So he goes this huge music festival in the Hamptons,
- 24:47Speaker 3: goes with a bunch of guys from New York and
- 24:49Speaker 3: the money world finance guys. I saw this. He immediately
- 24:52Speaker 3: starts having beverages. The Kelsey way gets bleep faced, doesn't
- 24:56Speaker 3: even know who's performed. The guy comes up and says, dude,
- 25:00Speaker 3: Buffet's here. He wants to meet you. Travis Kelsey's like,
- 25:03Speaker 3: holy bleep, that's big money. I'm way too hammered to
- 25:06Speaker 3: talk finances. So he goes, he gets a water, says
- 25:11Speaker 3: get it together. I go meet Buffett, shake his hand,
- 25:14Speaker 3: and we have the best conversation I've ever had in
- 25:16Speaker 3: my life. He's smiling ear to ear. I'm thinking I'm
- 25:19Speaker 3: gonna be rich. He's gonna invite me in on all
- 25:21Speaker 3: his investments. And then he starts telling me the story
- 25:24Speaker 3: about picking up the guitar in high school, and I
- 25:26Speaker 3: go right to his face, no way, Warren Buffett played
- 25:29Speaker 3: the guitar, and his face went from smiling ear to
- 25:34Speaker 3: ear to not smiling at all, and then he got
- 25:36Speaker 3: tapped on the shoulder because he had to go sing Margaritaville.
- 25:40Speaker 3: His story of confusing Warn and Jimmy isn't that awesome.
- 25:45Speaker 3: I love stories like that. And see, I think there
- 25:49Speaker 3: are majority of the entertainers out there.
- 25:51Speaker 2: I shouldn't say a majority. There are a number of
- 25:54Speaker 2: entertainers out there that would think that's funny. Yeah, but
- 25:57Speaker 2: there is a number of entertainers out there that would
- 26:00Speaker 2: just be their ego would be crushed knowing they got
- 26:03Speaker 2: somebody got them confused with somebody else. And see that
- 26:07Speaker 2: that was my experience with one person. I had one
- 26:11Speaker 2: person that didn't like because I didn't know who they were.
- 26:16Speaker 2: Let's just call it exactly, just exactly. And my experience
- 26:20Speaker 2: with Kenny Chesney was not good and he could not
- 26:25Speaker 2: have been ruder to me, and I didn't understand why
- 26:28Speaker 2: he was being so rude. And then I met him
- 26:31Speaker 2: after that, and I've met him a few times because
- 26:35Speaker 2: a good friend of my dad's was really good friends
- 26:37Speaker 2: with Kenny Chesney, and so I don't know, I just
- 26:41Speaker 2: he was. He was kind of weird, but.
- 26:44Speaker 4: Like one of those great dudes that you don't want
- 26:46Speaker 4: to meet a man.
- 26:48Speaker 2: And that's what's so disappointing because it's I've been lucky enough,
- 26:53Speaker 2: and I mean real lucky to run into celebrities at
- 26:56Speaker 2: certain things. And I've told you the whole story worry
- 27:00Speaker 2: about meeting Tom Selleck and he was one of my
- 27:03Speaker 2: heroes when I was growing up, and he could not
- 27:05Speaker 2: have been any nicer to me. Stood there and talked
- 27:08Speaker 2: to me for thirty minutes, and I thought, this is
- 27:11Speaker 2: pretty cool.
- 27:12Speaker 4: But yeah, I mean, I don't know but and.
- 27:15Speaker 2: I can tell you politicians, I stood there and talked
- 27:18Speaker 2: to Bill Clinton one time for an extended period of time,
- 27:23Speaker 2: and he was fascinating to me.
- 27:25Speaker 4: And I'm standing there thinking, what's that. I guarantee it. Well.
- 27:29Speaker 3: I stood there and like, I don't like you, but
- 27:32Speaker 3: I'm starting to like you.
- 27:34Speaker 4: That's what's so weird.
- 27:36Speaker 3: You know, you meet somebody that you really don't want
- 27:38Speaker 3: to meet because you don't like how they are, their
- 27:40Speaker 3: public persona is.
- 27:42Speaker 2: And he was one of those kind of guys. I
- 27:45Speaker 2: just did you know he was first of all, everybody
- 27:47Speaker 2: knows what side eyeleen, and he was the other side.
- 27:50Speaker 2: And you know, he's always had some unusual circumstances and
- 27:54Speaker 2: his personal life was a little unusual I'll say, but
- 27:59Speaker 2: then when I met him and started talking to him,
- 28:02Speaker 2: it's like it was fascinating how it's like, wow, my
- 28:06Speaker 2: perspective of him is completely changing, and it's blowing my
- 28:11Speaker 2: mind away. And it's just I don't know. I mean,
- 28:14Speaker 2: the time I met uh, what's his name, the country
- 28:17Speaker 2: music singer Randy Travis, not Randy Travis. While I met
- 28:20Speaker 2: him too, Alan Jackson, and I didn't know who he was,
- 28:25Speaker 2: and he just stood there and laughed at me. He goes,
- 28:28Speaker 2: we just let's keep going with this, and I never could.
- 28:31Speaker 2: I had no idea who he was. And I think
- 28:35Speaker 2: he liked that. I think he liked that probably. I mean,
- 28:41Speaker 2: my one of my dad's closest friends that I grew
- 28:45Speaker 2: up with. When my dad first met him, he was
- 28:48Speaker 2: pretty popular and well known. My dad had no idea
- 28:52Speaker 2: who he was, and they ended up being neighbors down
- 28:54Speaker 2: in South Florida. And I think that's why this celebrity
- 29:00Speaker 2: loved my dad, because they could act normal around him
- 29:04Speaker 2: without them, you know, without anybody second up to them all.
- 29:07Speaker 2: I exactly, And I think that's why they liked that.
- 29:11Speaker 2: It just like I think that's why Jennifer Lawrence's mom
- 29:14Speaker 2: likes me because I didn't know where her daughter was.
- 29:16Speaker 2: But uh, anyway, she does laugh at me, and she
- 29:19Speaker 2: still calls me an idiot by the way when I
- 29:21Speaker 2: run into her. So uh but yeah, that's that's a
- 29:23Speaker 2: fascinating all right. So last night at in Las Vegas,
- 29:27Speaker 2: Mark Pope and the New Wes Kentucky basketball team decides
- 29:31Speaker 2: to go to see, uh the Sphere, which I think
- 29:34Speaker 2: is cool, but the musician was the one and only
- 29:38Speaker 2: Guinea Jesney.
- 29:39Speaker 3: By the way, his show at the Sphere I've seen
- 29:42Speaker 3: clips of it looks freaking awesome.
- 29:45Speaker 4: Tell me why it does.
- 29:47Speaker 3: So he's got like all this underwater stuff incorporated and
- 29:51Speaker 3: it kind of looks like it's coming at you. And
- 29:53Speaker 3: the way the show starts from what I've seen, and
- 29:56Speaker 3: it's it's like you're underwater and this ceiling looks like
- 30:01Speaker 3: it's coming down on you. That's wow.
- 30:03Speaker 4: I mean it's it looks pretty neat.
- 30:05Speaker 2: Okay, Now is that a good venue to go see
- 30:09Speaker 2: a concert? Because don't you want to concentrate on the
- 30:12Speaker 2: the music or do you can you take it all
- 30:15Speaker 2: in at the same time? Because I know how my
- 30:18Speaker 2: brain works. I mean, one minute, well, you know, you
- 30:21Speaker 2: hear me in conversations. One minute, I'm talking about one thing,
- 30:23Speaker 2: and you say one thing, and it takes me a
- 30:25Speaker 2: whole completely different way. I don't know if that would
- 30:28Speaker 2: be good for me to go see a concert for you.
- 30:31Speaker 2: Probably not, Probably not everybody else. That's normal, Yeah, probably So, Well,
- 30:35Speaker 2: here's my thing, because I would like to go there
- 30:37Speaker 2: and see a concert. If you're sitting high enough up,
- 30:41Speaker 2: you can't really see the artist anyways, and you're more
- 30:45Speaker 2: times than not you're going to be watching them on
- 30:47Speaker 2: the screen. So if you're at the sphere, you might
- 30:49Speaker 2: as well just try to take it all in, concentrate
- 30:52Speaker 2: on the music, the scenes.
- 30:54Speaker 3: I mean, that's Isn't that what the the Spear is
- 30:56Speaker 3: supposed to be about. It's just the experiment, It's not
- 31:00Speaker 3: I don't know any other concerts.
- 31:02Speaker 2: Well, you two was there for quite a stint, and
- 31:05Speaker 2: I would have liked to have gone to see you too.
- 31:08Speaker 3: It don't artists and bands go to Vegas because it
- 31:11Speaker 3: means they're like dying, Like they're not not in not
- 31:17Speaker 3: in a physical sense. Their band or group is fizzling out.
- 31:22Speaker 3: Isn't that why they have residencies in Las Vegas?
- 31:24Speaker 2: Man It sure seems that way, because I know Aerosmith
- 31:27Speaker 2: did that, you two did that, The Eagles did that
- 31:31Speaker 2: where it was just easier for them to go there
- 31:34Speaker 2: and play. However many nights in a row without having
- 31:38Speaker 2: to travel, and because that takes it out of them.
- 31:41Speaker 2: I mean, anytime anybody has to travel, it takes it
- 31:44Speaker 2: out of you.
- 31:44Speaker 3: Maybe that is something about it, like you were just
- 31:47Speaker 3: we're so old to the point where we don't want
- 31:49Speaker 3: to travel anymore, but people still want to hear us.
- 31:52Speaker 3: Let's just take up residency and they'll come to us.
- 31:54Speaker 3: How about that?
- 31:55Speaker 2: Well, I mean, I can tell you my anxiety went
- 31:58Speaker 2: through the roof because I knew I had to fly
- 32:00Speaker 2: out to dinner the other day, and I'm like, I
- 32:02Speaker 2: don't want to go, and Patricia's like, Michael, I just
- 32:04Speaker 2: want you to be with me, and I'm like, up done,
- 32:06Speaker 2: I'm going.
- 32:07Speaker 3: As soon as she says something like that, I'm in.
- 32:10Speaker 3: But I'm like you, traveling. When I was a kid,
- 32:14Speaker 3: traveling was fun.
- 32:15Speaker 2: Not many people got to get on airplanes, and now
- 32:18Speaker 2: it seems like everybody gets on the airplane because it's a
- 32:20Speaker 2: lot more affordable.
- 32:21Speaker 4: But it's just it's.
- 32:23Speaker 3: It's such well, I mean you can still find flights
- 32:27Speaker 3: if you plan ahead enough.
- 32:29Speaker 2: I mean there are breeze and allegiant flights. You can
- 32:32Speaker 2: buy a round trip for one hundred bucks if you
- 32:36Speaker 2: plan it the right way, So you can. I mean,
- 32:39Speaker 2: even though Spirit the Subway of the sky is gone,
- 32:42Speaker 2: but there are still airlines out there that are affordable.
- 32:45Speaker 2: But it's just it's going through security, your plane's delayed,
- 32:50Speaker 2: you all that kind of rigorma warrior you have to
- 32:53Speaker 2: go through with travel day.
- 32:54Speaker 4: It's just miserable.
- 32:55Speaker 2: And there was a report yesterday it came out that
- 32:59Speaker 2: a study that came out as far as what are
- 33:01Speaker 2: your pet peeves about flying today and what do you think?
- 33:06Speaker 2: The number one pet peeve of flying today.
- 33:09Speaker 4: Was no more peanuts.
- 33:12Speaker 3: Oh that's true. I haven't thought about that, but yes,
- 33:15Speaker 3: that is a good pet peeve was the number one
- 33:19Speaker 3: pet peeve. And I experienced this on the way out
- 33:22Speaker 3: to say Denver, Colorado. Was people leaning back too far
- 33:26Speaker 3: with their seats in front of you. I thought that
- 33:30Speaker 3: was bizarre, but it's like, well, I just experienced and
- 33:33Speaker 3: it irritated the heck out.
- 33:34Speaker 4: Of me to kick the back of their seat.
- 33:36Speaker 3: I'm trying to well, I had to get my computer
- 33:40Speaker 3: out of the way real quick because they were coming
- 33:41Speaker 3: back and it was crushing my computer.
- 33:43Speaker 4: It goes back.
- 33:45Speaker 2: Oh man, well there's not much room for big boy
- 33:48Speaker 2: Michael Bennett. So you know, big boy Michael BENNT. He's
- 33:52Speaker 2: not big big boy Michael Bennett anymore, but he's still
- 33:54Speaker 2: big boy Michael Bennett.
- 33:55Speaker 3: So I had to move my computer real quick. It's
- 33:58Speaker 3: just I don't know, don't lean.
- 34:00Speaker 2: All the way back, but it's just frustrating how far
- 34:03Speaker 2: back some people want to lean. Why why is that?
- 34:08Speaker 2: Oh because a big boy. Yeah, I know. I'm Patricia
- 34:12Speaker 2: makes fun of me because my mom told her one time,
- 34:16Speaker 2: a long time ago, when we first started dating, that
- 34:18Speaker 2: my mom had to go to the store and buy
- 34:21Speaker 2: me Husky brand clothes. Yeah yeah, yeah, if you remember Husky,
- 34:27Speaker 2: that was me. Yeah, that was me. And she still
- 34:30Speaker 2: reminds me that I was a Husky boy. So but
- 34:33Speaker 2: all right, we got to take another break five O
- 34:34Speaker 2: two three four fourteen fifty five O two four one
- 34:37Speaker 2: four fourteen fifty on the Whiskey teed text line, We'll
- 34:40Speaker 2: get to your tex As soon as we get back.
- 34:42Speaker 2: Uh and we we we I'm not done talking about
- 34:45Speaker 2: this Kenny Chesney thing. This part really surprised me. Taking
- 34:49Speaker 2: a basketball team to a Kenny Chesney concert. Was it
- 34:52Speaker 2: more about the venue or was it more about who
- 34:54Speaker 2: they were seeing? So stay right there, Jessicat's.
- 34:56Speaker 4: Coming up, decide.
- 35:05Speaker 3: Sound needs to me.
- 35:09Speaker 5: A stranger.
- 35:12Speaker 1: Live by scene, Stash's trash and accord bout a good suit.
- 35:26Speaker 6: Clue flew on up the Mexico standing by the shoes,
- 35:38Speaker 6: waiting for some mystery.
- 35:40Speaker 4: Man to be him for his time.
- 35:46Speaker 6: Thinking about the money he made, couldn't help pesues.
- 35:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I hear a song like that, and I think,
- 35:53Speaker 2: can you imagine being a pilot back in those days
- 35:57Speaker 2: and you're transporting drugs between Cuba and Flora.
- 36:00Speaker 3: I just.
- 36:02Speaker 4: I can't imagine.
- 36:03Speaker 2: You know, that's what that song is about, Havana day dreaming,
- 36:06Speaker 2: and I don't know, it's just it's just fascinating to me.
- 36:10Speaker 2: That's a good song anyway, Are you kidding me?
- 36:15Speaker 4: Okay?
- 36:16Speaker 2: Because that's the kind of plane that they would fly
- 36:20Speaker 2: is one that Jimmy Buffett.
- 36:21Speaker 3: Used to have.
- 36:22Speaker 2: That was a grumming That was his old World War
- 36:25Speaker 2: two plane that you could land in the water. And
- 36:28Speaker 2: that's that's the reason he wrote that song Jamaica mistaken
- 36:31Speaker 2: because the Jamaican police thought he was a drug dealer
- 36:37Speaker 2: or transporter and they shot his plane down. You can
- 36:39Speaker 2: go see that plane at Universal Studios in Orlando. Have
- 36:42Speaker 2: you ever seen that one? They still had the bull
- 36:44Speaker 2: They never repaired the bullet holes. I think it's it's
- 36:50Speaker 2: it's it's exactly. It's a it's a it's a band
- 36:52Speaker 2: of honor right there, as far as I'm concerned. But anyway,
- 36:55Speaker 2: all right, Josh texted out, Scoots, what the hell taking
- 37:00Speaker 2: a day off the first week on the job. You're
- 37:02Speaker 2: a slacker McFly yep, slacker, yeah, and then he proceeds
- 37:07Speaker 2: to send us a text with with where his view
- 37:10Speaker 2: is today?
- 37:12Speaker 4: Exactly where is he? By the way in the beach?
- 37:14Speaker 2: I know not it didn't it didn't say where it is,
- 37:17Speaker 2: but five of two, four, one, four, fourteen fifty you
- 37:19Speaker 2: want to text in?
- 37:21Speaker 4: One person said.
- 37:24Speaker 2: The media soon forgot all about it, as you couldn't
- 37:27Speaker 2: even remember the name of the establishment. What are we
- 37:31Speaker 2: talking about, I'm assuming, Oh, yeah, I guess so, probably
- 37:37Speaker 2: so as well. I mean I'm terrible with names, and
- 37:43Speaker 2: so I mean, yeah, I am, I'm terrible with names,
- 37:47Speaker 2: but I listen. I just I wish they would take
- 37:50Speaker 2: care of these businesses and these people, and I just
- 37:53Speaker 2: I I, for the life of me, I don't get it.
- 37:56Speaker 4: John here, let me get to the right one.
- 38:01Speaker 2: Hey, Michael, with Justin going out of town for golf
- 38:05Speaker 2: event tomorrow and when you sometimes take off. Michael, wait
- 38:09Speaker 2: a minute, going out of town for golf event tomorrow
- 38:14Speaker 2: and when you sometimes take off? Michael, I had a question.
- 38:17Speaker 2: Is there some type equipment or way you could still
- 38:21Speaker 2: call in and do the show? I think it would
- 38:23Speaker 2: be funny and cool. If Justin was like doing the
- 38:25Speaker 2: show at a golf scramble he is whispering and occasionally
- 38:28Speaker 2: yelling for then the driving around on the golf course,
- 38:33Speaker 2: that would be fun live on YouTube, or if you
- 38:36Speaker 2: were at some cool horse racing tracks. Michael, I would
- 38:39Speaker 2: watch you guys for sure. What do you think should
- 38:43Speaker 2: should we do the show with you? I think it
- 38:45Speaker 2: would be fantastic every time. Probably not when you're on
- 38:49Speaker 2: your own personal time with your family. I wouldn't do
- 38:53Speaker 2: it then, but at an event that you're doing a remote.
- 38:57Speaker 2: Hopefully one day Michael Bennett's invited to one of these
- 39:00Speaker 2: golf Scrambles and I'll do the show from there. I
- 39:04Speaker 2: think it would be fun to I'm with John here,
- 39:07Speaker 2: I would definitely love to do a show where I
- 39:11Speaker 2: could go around on the golf course and talk to
- 39:14Speaker 2: all the different guys playing on the tournament.
- 39:17Speaker 3: I think that would be fun.
- 39:18Speaker 2: There's ways we could make that happen and see, just
- 39:21Speaker 2: like just like with Derby Week, I probably look forward
- 39:23Speaker 2: to Derby Week more than any other because I love
- 39:25Speaker 2: getting random people I don't know. In fact, I had
- 39:29Speaker 2: a guy that I knew and he had his girlfriend
- 39:31Speaker 2: on Well she went nuts that I had her on
- 39:35Speaker 2: and they broke up like a week later because of
- 39:37Speaker 2: me having them on the radio.
- 39:39Speaker 4: How do you like that one?
- 39:40Speaker 2: Well, yes, exactly, John here again, Coach Pope did almost
- 39:45Speaker 2: have a JQ problem.
- 39:48Speaker 4: This season. I didn't know that we were all in
- 39:51Speaker 4: on Donnie Freeman.
- 39:53Speaker 2: That's right, an different time last season due to lingering
- 39:58Speaker 2: lower body issues now with Saint John's in non contact
- 40:04Speaker 2: situation with Donnie, Freeman suffered a torn achilles tendon during
- 40:09Speaker 2: an offseason workout in late June and has already undergone surgery,
- 40:14Speaker 2: meaning he will miss the entire upcoming twenty twenty six
- 40:18Speaker 2: twenty seven seasons for Saint John's. I love Coach Pope,
- 40:21Speaker 2: but it almost happened again this upcoming season.
- 40:25Speaker 4: He's right about that. That's a good point, John.
- 40:27Speaker 3: I mean, we always give Mark Pope crap for springing
- 40:32Speaker 3: in these guys that get injured. And maybe it wasn't
- 40:35Speaker 3: his fault that Donnie Freeman didn't end up coming, but
- 40:38Speaker 3: you gotta gotta give him credit here for avoiding that situation.
- 40:41Speaker 2: Right, Yes, I agree, Wisconsin guy Kerco you to immediately
- 40:47Speaker 2: believe that story. He's exaggerating in lying. I don't think
- 40:52Speaker 2: he's lying.
- 40:53Speaker 3: He might be.
- 40:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't think it's an outright lie, but I
- 40:57Speaker 2: tend to believe a little little bit of it is exaggeration.
- 41:02Speaker 4: Yeah, it's the Kelsey way.
- 41:07Speaker 2: Wait wait, wait, I know we're talking about Mark Pope.
- 41:10Speaker 2: Why are you bringing up Kelsey?
- 41:11Speaker 4: Oh?
- 41:12Speaker 3: I was assuming he was saying, you immediately believe that
- 41:15Speaker 3: story about the Travis Kelcey Warren Buffett.
- 41:18Speaker 4: Oh oh wait oh is he really?
- 41:20Speaker 3: Oh?
- 41:22Speaker 2: Now I don't know exactly, Wisconsin Guyekierko, if you would
- 41:25Speaker 2: let me know, are you talking about Travis Kelcey?
- 41:28Speaker 4: Are you talking about Mark Pope?
- 41:30Speaker 2: Because yeah, that's what when you text in, please be
- 41:34Speaker 2: a little more specific on which story, because I typically.
- 41:38Speaker 3: The Buffet story. Yes, he's talking about the buffet story. Yeah,
- 41:42Speaker 3: I believe you believe it. There's exaggerations in there, sure,
- 41:46Speaker 3: but that's I think there's exaggeration and he's not necessary.
- 41:50Speaker 3: Come on, you're telling me you didn't know the difference
- 41:52Speaker 3: between Warren Buffett and Jimmy Buffett.
- 41:54Speaker 4: I mean, come on, I mean he's kind of a
- 41:56Speaker 4: meat heead so it makes sense you think. So Look,
- 42:01Speaker 4: here's the deal.
- 42:02Speaker 3: We only get one life, and if I hear a
- 42:04Speaker 3: story like this that I think is hilarious, I'm gonna
- 42:07Speaker 3: choose to believe it. And that's what I'm doing in
- 42:09Speaker 3: this situation. Okay, Yeah, you don't want to believe it,
- 42:12Speaker 3: that's fine, isn't it funny? Though?
- 42:15Speaker 2: More times than not the tight end they're a bit
- 42:18Speaker 2: of a meathead. Because you look at Gronkowski, I think
- 42:22Speaker 2: he is a meathead. But he's a fun loving meathead.
- 42:28Speaker 4: I love him. Why do you are you not a
- 42:31Speaker 4: fan of Rob Gronkowski?
- 42:33Speaker 3: No?
- 42:33Speaker 4: I mean, I just know how much you love him.
- 42:35Speaker 3: I do.
- 42:36Speaker 2: I listen, you talk about a person. There are very
- 42:39Speaker 2: few people out there that I would love to meet.
- 42:42Speaker 2: Rob Gronkowski is right there on the top of the list.
- 42:45Speaker 2: He's not probably not top, but he's top five of
- 42:48Speaker 2: people that I would love to meet. If there were
- 42:51Speaker 2: people out there that I'd love to meet, top of
- 42:53Speaker 2: the list most likely would be Bill Murray. I've never
- 42:57Speaker 2: I've had the opportunity a couple of times and it
- 42:59Speaker 2: didn't work out. I mean, I've always regretted it. I'm
- 43:02Speaker 2: worried now that it might not ever happen, but I
- 43:05Speaker 2: I would love to meet him. I would do anything
- 43:10Speaker 2: to meet uh two other people, Uh, well three other people.
- 43:14Speaker 2: Conan O'Brien who you hate, I would, Martin Short and
- 43:21Speaker 2: Eugene Levy. I just there's some I would have done
- 43:24Speaker 2: anything to meet John Candy too, but that'll never happens.
- 43:28Speaker 3: Harley, I'll meet the other three good really not a
- 43:35Speaker 3: big Martin A big What did Martin Short do to you?
- 43:41Speaker 4: Short? Ah?
- 43:44Speaker 3: So were you? I mean you both had that in common. Gosh.
- 43:48Speaker 2: One person said, I flew on Spirit Airlines once, the
- 43:51Speaker 2: most uncomfortable seat I've ever flown on, even worse than
- 43:54Speaker 2: sitting backwards on Southwest.
- 43:57Speaker 3: See that's wait wait, wait, wait, oh yeah, you didn't
- 44:00Speaker 3: know that thing. Back in the day.
- 44:04Speaker 2: On some of the Southwest Airlines airplanes, you had a
- 44:08Speaker 2: table and you could sit backwards at the table.
- 44:11Speaker 3: It was awesome. Oh my gosh. They had a table
- 44:16Speaker 3: up towards the front of the plane and then I
- 44:17Speaker 3: think one towards the back, and my dad and I
- 44:20Speaker 3: would always get that seat right there and I would
- 44:23Speaker 3: be the one sitting backwards on the flight. Yeah, it was,
- 44:27Speaker 3: it was.
- 44:27Speaker 4: I listen. I was so sorry they got rid of
- 44:30Speaker 4: that spirit.
- 44:31Speaker 3: You didn't.
- 44:32Speaker 2: You weren't able to make those seats move back. I
- 44:35Speaker 2: flew at one time and I said, I'm never flying
- 44:37Speaker 2: this airline again, no joke. It was like flying on
- 44:41Speaker 2: a subway. That's exactly what it was. It was an
- 44:44Speaker 2: uncomfortable seat that didn't move or anything. So all right,
- 44:46Speaker 2: we got to go hour two coming right up, So
- 44:49Speaker 2: stay right there. We got a lot more to talk about.
- 44:55Speaker 1: Judd Swam Welcome to Just the Cats with Michael Bennett.
- 45:15Speaker 2: All right, I were number two on this Thursday, or
- 45:17Speaker 2: I should say on a Friday for Justin but whatever.
- 45:20Speaker 2: But you know you were teasing because I was having
- 45:23Speaker 2: a little bit of water here before we won the
- 45:26Speaker 2: Oh you aren't, don't you really? I just wanted you
- 45:29Speaker 2: to chug it, did you. I listen, That's never a
- 45:32Speaker 2: problem with me. Anytime somebody dares me to do something,
- 45:36Speaker 2: I do it.
- 45:37Speaker 3: Oh yeah, And I made that mistake with some bourbon
- 45:41Speaker 3: one time, and man, I I hope I never do
- 45:45Speaker 3: that again.
- 45:45Speaker 2: But is that something y'all do on your golf scrambles?
- 45:51Speaker 2: Do y'all kind of chug and dare each other to
- 45:53Speaker 2: do certain things?
- 45:54Speaker 3: Or no? So I'm actually you're gonna have a hard
- 45:58Speaker 3: time believing this, But I'm actually probably the most tame one,
- 46:03Speaker 3: are you really? Oh? Yeah? My dad and his brothers
- 46:06Speaker 3: they and well especially so my dad's best friend goes
- 46:10Speaker 3: on this trip every year as well. And once my
- 46:13Speaker 3: dad and his best friend get around each other, it's
- 46:16Speaker 3: like neither of them in a few hours are gonna
- 46:20Speaker 3: be themselves. I mean, I don't know what it is
- 46:22Speaker 3: about them too, hanging out. When they hang out, they
- 46:25Speaker 3: do some drinking. You know.
- 46:27Speaker 2: It's funny because I do. I have a persona when
- 46:30Speaker 2: I'm with certain people that I don't know, But then
- 46:32Speaker 2: when I'm with some of my closest friends, I'm a
- 46:35Speaker 2: different persona. Are you that same way too?
- 46:38Speaker 4: Not necessarily, I like to think of Oh I am,
- 46:40Speaker 4: I like to think I'm the same guy either.
- 46:42Speaker 2: No, but I'm let me clarify this. I'd like to
- 46:47Speaker 2: be a little more professional. I mean, you know, a
- 46:49Speaker 2: little more tamer if the real little bits and pieces.
- 46:53Speaker 2: And this is what scares my wife the most when
- 46:55Speaker 2: I'm around a lot of her business or clients, business associates,
- 46:58Speaker 2: that the real Michael Bennett come out, because that guy
- 47:01Speaker 2: comes out and it's it's it can be embarrassing because
- 47:05Speaker 2: there's no telling what comes out of my mouth. Really,
- 47:08Speaker 2: it just but but if I'm with my best friend,
- 47:11Speaker 2: there's no filter. I mean, we act absolutely ridiculous and
- 47:15Speaker 2: we say anything. We were probably like a bunch of
- 47:18Speaker 2: little twelve and thirteen year old boys because we were
- 47:21Speaker 2: just complete juveniles. But I have to tame that down
- 47:25Speaker 2: when I'm around my wife and a lot of her friends,
- 47:29Speaker 2: and I just I gotta watch myself.
- 47:32Speaker 3: See. I guess maybe I just don't have a situation
- 47:35Speaker 3: like that in my life where I feel like I
- 47:36Speaker 3: need to tame it down because oh yeah, I feel
- 47:39Speaker 3: like I'm the same no matter who I'm around.
- 47:42Speaker 2: Yeah, because my wife introduced me to a guy that
- 47:45Speaker 2: she works with yesterday and a little bit came out
- 47:50Speaker 2: and she looked at me, says, up here comes Michael Bennett,
- 47:53Speaker 2: and she started forewarning.
- 47:55Speaker 3: The guy, this is this is how he acts. Beware.
- 47:59Speaker 2: It's like, oh, now I know, I got to tone
- 48:02Speaker 2: it down. So I had to tone it down and
- 48:03Speaker 2: just you know, just let it go a little bit.
- 48:06Speaker 2: It's like, please don't act that way.
- 48:08Speaker 4: I just I don't know.
- 48:08Speaker 2: I get I get in the mood. Because here's the
- 48:10Speaker 2: funny part. People don't believe me. There are times that
- 48:14Speaker 2: I'm definitely an extrovert. People don't think that I'm shy,
- 48:19Speaker 2: but there are times that I'm very much an introvert.
- 48:22Speaker 2: I'm a mixture. That's what's so funny. My my therapist
- 48:27Speaker 2: had me tested one time, about a year or two ago.
- 48:30Speaker 2: She goes, Michael, I need you to take this test
- 48:32Speaker 2: because we need to see how to define Michael Bennett.
- 48:36Speaker 2: And I took it and part of the test had
- 48:38Speaker 2: me that I'm extremely introverted. The other part had me
- 48:42Speaker 2: I'm extremely extroverted, which there aren't.
- 48:45Speaker 4: Many people like that.
- 48:46Speaker 3: I'm kind of like that, are you really at least
- 48:50Speaker 3: like I'm I'm very extrovert, extroverted, but at home I'm
- 48:54Speaker 3: more introverted.
- 48:56Speaker 4: Really no, it doesn't, I don't. I think it's.
- 48:59Speaker 3: Probably even cause of all the talking I do just
- 49:02Speaker 3: throughout the day, Like, yeah, I get home and that's
- 49:04Speaker 3: the last thing I want to do is talk more talk,
- 49:06Speaker 3: Like I'm I'm pretty well done talking when I get home.
- 49:10Speaker 4: So I don't know that that doesn't necessarily mean you're
- 49:13Speaker 4: introverted though, That just means you need a little time
- 49:16Speaker 4: to relax. I don't know, but I said there can
- 49:19Speaker 4: stay on my phone for like an hour.
- 49:20Speaker 3: And really no, there are times when I meet a
- 49:23Speaker 3: person for the first time it's just like I'm a
- 49:26Speaker 3: little bit on the shy side and I don't have
- 49:28Speaker 3: much to say.
- 49:28Speaker 4: And then my wife say, are you okay? Are you angry?
- 49:31Speaker 4: Are you mad about something?
- 49:32Speaker 3: No?
- 49:32Speaker 2: I just I'm just I'm okay, fine, Just leave me
- 49:34Speaker 2: alone for a little bit. It's like, ah, man, I
- 49:36Speaker 2: just can't catch it. Break so this long and thirty
- 49:39Speaker 2: years wow shy Uh yeah, uh that's happened too. So
- 49:47Speaker 2: uh anyway.
- 49:48Speaker 3: Uh.
- 49:48Speaker 2: Former UK football great Josh Allen named to the Pro
- 49:51Speaker 2: Football focused SEC All decade team as one of the kind. No,
- 49:56Speaker 2: josh Allen, I said it right the first time. Thank you, uh,
- 49:59Speaker 2: one of the conference top edge defenders.
- 50:03Speaker 3: To me. Anytime I hear anything about Josh Allen, I know,
- 50:08Speaker 3: Joshua hinz out. Okay, stop, that's like telling me you're
- 50:11Speaker 3: gonna change your name to Michael Todd Bennett and then
- 50:14Speaker 3: me every day just still calling you Michael Bennett.
- 50:17Speaker 4: It's rude.
- 50:18Speaker 3: If you if you want to be called Michael Todd Bennett,
- 50:21Speaker 3: then I'm gonna call you Michael Todd Bennett. If josh
- 50:24Speaker 3: if josh Allen wants to be called Joshua Hines Allen,
- 50:27Speaker 3: then that's what we should call him.
- 50:28Speaker 2: Listen, you start calling me Michael Todd bennan, I'm gonna
- 50:30Speaker 2: start calling you mom, because that's the only person that
- 50:33Speaker 2: ever said that to me was Michael Todd Bennett. And
- 50:35Speaker 2: that's genuinely generally when I was in trouble. Okay, so
- 50:39Speaker 2: we're not calling me Michael Todd Bennett. All right, let's
- 50:41Speaker 2: just an example. Okay, Well I appreciate that, Mom, but
- 50:44Speaker 2: I don't need that today. So Joshua Hines Allen, listen,
- 50:49Speaker 2: going back to him to me, that is one of
- 50:52Speaker 2: the most fascinating stories in sports in the last ten years,
- 50:56Speaker 2: because you know, I've said it multiple times, hardly recruit
- 51:00Speaker 2: did out of high school. His high school coach called, uh,
- 51:04Speaker 2: I think it was Vince Marriw and said, listen, you
- 51:06Speaker 2: got to take this player for me. And he was
- 51:09Speaker 2: barely a two star, comes out and is one of
- 51:12Speaker 2: the top what was he was drafted seventh in the
- 51:16Speaker 2: NFL draft a few years back. I mean, it's just
- 51:19Speaker 2: and how successful he has been in uh the NFL,
- 51:24Speaker 2: not just at UK. Of course, help UK get their
- 51:27Speaker 2: ten win season that they hadn't had in forever. I mean,
- 51:30Speaker 2: and I thought, okay, didn't count though, Okay, here we
- 51:34Speaker 2: go again, but uh yeah, okay, then neither did a
- 51:36Speaker 2: lot of things for U of L.
- 51:37Speaker 4: But they like to count those things.
- 51:39Speaker 2: But all right, uh now, And it made me think,
- 51:43Speaker 2: who were some of the other really great players the
- 51:46Speaker 2: last ten years for UK football? And in the first
- 51:51Speaker 2: one that came to my mind, Zadarius Smith. You should
- 51:56Speaker 2: have come up with that one, because he's not He's
- 52:00Speaker 2: not with the Steelers anymore, is he?
- 52:02Speaker 4: I think I want to say he's with the Eagles.
- 52:05Speaker 3: Is he with the Eagles.
- 52:06Speaker 2: He's had a phenomenal career and that was the first
- 52:09Speaker 2: really big player out of UK uh and the Mark
- 52:13Speaker 2: Stoops era. So does the he a good call right there.
- 52:19Speaker 2: Who are some of the other players the last ten
- 52:22Speaker 2: years that you can think of for UK that have
- 52:25Speaker 2: just been one of the highlight reels?
- 52:30Speaker 3: Oh?
- 52:31Speaker 4: Really, that's a good one.
- 52:32Speaker 3: I mean, was just absolutely massive. And he's still in
- 52:37Speaker 3: the NFL. I know, is he He's only been in
- 52:40Speaker 3: what two three years now?
- 52:41Speaker 2: But yeah, exactly exactly. Benny Snell from the josh Joshua.
- 52:48Speaker 4: Hyde NFL career didn't go better than it did. Why
- 52:52Speaker 4: do you think that is?
- 52:53Speaker 2: Because I was the same way And then you know
- 52:55Speaker 2: he was going to play for the Kings that didn't
- 52:57Speaker 2: work out. I don't I don't know if he got
- 53:00Speaker 2: a fair shot with the Kings or not. But I'm
- 53:03Speaker 2: like you, he was with the Steelers, drafted with the Steelers,
- 53:05Speaker 2: and all of a sudden he's out of there.
- 53:07Speaker 4: It's like, did something happen? He didn't have any injuries
- 53:10Speaker 4: that I know of.
- 53:11Speaker 3: I just think with running back specifically, the most replaceable
- 53:18Speaker 3: guys in the NFL, it's just hard. They're just everywhere,
- 53:23Speaker 3: like everybody's got four or five six running backs on
- 53:26Speaker 3: their roster.
- 53:27Speaker 2: So well, see that makes me want to think, what
- 53:30Speaker 2: is the most long standing position in the NFL? What
- 53:35Speaker 2: on the on average, what players stay the longest in
- 53:38Speaker 2: the NFL? Is it a kicker, because those certainly don't
- 53:43Speaker 2: rotate much. When you're a good kicker in the NFL,
- 53:46Speaker 2: it seems like they are in the NFL forever. Wasn't
- 53:50Speaker 2: it Austin McGinnis that he should have been a kicker
- 53:55Speaker 2: in the NFL, but nobody had any open positions for him,
- 53:57Speaker 2: so he never got a shot, which I thought was
- 54:00Speaker 2: always really a shame. A kicker, it seems like quarterbacks. Huh, punter,
- 54:06Speaker 2: that's another good one.
- 54:08Speaker 4: Uh, it is not what I thought it would be.
- 54:11Speaker 2: Hold On, don't say uh, I would say, is it
- 54:17Speaker 2: on the defensive side? I know it's on the offensive side, Yeah,
- 54:24Speaker 2: but it's not a position that you would name hold on?
- 54:28Speaker 3: Uh.
- 54:29Speaker 4: Long snapper? Long snappers?
- 54:31Speaker 3: Are you serious?
- 54:32Speaker 4: I got it seven and a half years on average,
- 54:36Speaker 4: that's all.
- 54:36Speaker 3: That's all.
- 54:38Speaker 2: I'm surprised about that because you go through all the
- 54:42Speaker 2: quarterbacks are in the NFL right now, and it seems
- 54:45Speaker 2: like they've been in the NFL forever.
- 54:48Speaker 4: I man a long snapper.
- 54:50Speaker 3: Punter's punters six point four, kickers five point five, quarterbacks
- 54:54Speaker 3: five point four.
- 54:56Speaker 2: Okay, so we were right. We the two of us
- 54:58Speaker 2: pretty much had it right there. Kicker, punter, I picked
- 55:01Speaker 2: the long snapper, and then quarterback.
- 55:03Speaker 3: I mean, I think of the people that don't ever
- 55:05Speaker 3: take hits well exactly, and you would think those averages
- 55:10Speaker 3: would be higher. But you've also got to think about
- 55:13Speaker 3: all the people that position who maybe get injured and
- 55:18Speaker 3: can't play long in their career. Maybe it's not maybe
- 55:21Speaker 3: they're not cut out for it and they end up
- 55:22Speaker 3: quitting or whatever, so that they don't all last that long.
- 55:27Speaker 3: You know.
- 55:27Speaker 2: The other player I was thinking of a UK that
- 55:29Speaker 2: that really sticks out in my mind that had a
- 55:31Speaker 2: great career was Lynn Bowden.
- 55:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 55:34Speaker 4: I was really surprised Lynn Bowden.
- 55:36Speaker 2: You know, you said Benny Snell, which I agree, didn't
- 55:39Speaker 2: have that long of a career in the NFL. I
- 55:41Speaker 2: didn't think Lynn Bowden had much of a career in
- 55:43Speaker 2: the NFL, which I thought, It's like, how does that happen?
- 55:46Speaker 4: He hung around longer than Snell did? Did he really?
- 55:50Speaker 4: The Dolphins he was probably in for seven eight years.
- 55:53Speaker 2: Okay, Ray Davis, I mean, I'm gonna include Ray Davis
- 55:58Speaker 2: every time. I know he only played at UK one year,
- 56:01Speaker 2: but it was an impactful year, and I would think
- 56:04Speaker 2: he would be the same way. Uh, and then Wandel
- 56:07Speaker 2: Robinson would be the next one. Logan Sternberg maybe the
- 56:13Speaker 2: alignment offensive lineman who's played for Detroit. I think he's
- 56:19Speaker 2: with the Saints now. Great guy if I remember correctly.
- 56:24Speaker 2: His dad played for UK as well. But Logan Sternberg
- 56:27Speaker 2: was a huge standout.
- 56:28Speaker 4: I feel from the last two three years. I would
- 56:33Speaker 4: probably say some linemen were probably missing.
- 56:37Speaker 3: I don't I know.
- 56:41Speaker 2: Some people are probably yelling at the radios right now
- 56:44Speaker 2: saying will will Stein. But I just I'm not one
- 56:48Speaker 2: of those guys. That's Will Levis. Yeah, well Will Stein
- 56:52Speaker 2: is the other. Yeah, Will Stein is the head coach.
- 56:54Speaker 2: By the way, he had a great career at UK.
- 56:57Speaker 2: But yeah, Will Levis, I don't listen. I like Will Levis.
- 57:03Speaker 2: I just think it was tarnished with injury. Cash Daniels
- 57:13Speaker 2: but he didn't have a career in the NFL, but
- 57:15Speaker 2: he had a great career at UK. Was it marked
- 57:19Speaker 2: by that one play he had against the Florida quarterback.
- 57:22Speaker 3: I hope not. I hope we all move on from that.
- 57:26Speaker 3: I mean it's we all make mistakes, and that was
- 57:27Speaker 3: a mistake that Cash made. Josh Pascal is the one
- 57:30Speaker 3: I was thinking of. Oh that's a great one. Josh
- 57:33Speaker 3: Pascal is.
- 57:37Speaker 2: Oh my Goadwards, that's right, because he's been between Tampa Bay.
- 57:42Speaker 2: He won a Super Bowl, won a Super Bowl the
- 57:43Speaker 2: next year at Kansas City, and then went back to
- 57:47Speaker 2: Tampa Bay and one another one didn't he doesn't.
- 57:50Speaker 3: He have like three super Bowl rings. He might have
- 57:53Speaker 3: the most super Bowl rings of any UK former UK player.
- 57:56Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, I'm so mad at myself. I forgot
- 57:59Speaker 3: this one. Who Bud Dupree?
- 58:03Speaker 4: But is that the last ten years?
- 58:05Speaker 3: Oh see, yeah, yeah, keep it within the decade, you're right, Yeah, yeah,
- 58:10Speaker 3: so Bud dupres absolutely uh and sweet Pee as well.
- 58:15Speaker 2: I think sweet Pea if you go beyond. But but Dupree,
- 58:18Speaker 2: you look at that and yeah he was before the decade. Sure,
- 58:22Speaker 2: And that's where Josh was named the last decade. Is
- 58:25Speaker 2: one of the best player.
- 58:26Speaker 4: He got drafted, I want to say in fourteen because he.
- 58:29Speaker 2: Played for Rich Brooks didn't he because if you go
- 58:32Speaker 2: twenty years, then you're adding a lot more players.
- 58:34Speaker 3: That wouldn't have been No, because when did Stoops come in? Okay,
- 58:38Speaker 3: well then it was twenty Man, my dates are running
- 58:44Speaker 3: together because he did Stoops come in before Cal? I
- 58:48Speaker 3: think so, right, Yeah, I think so. Yes, he definitely
- 58:51Speaker 3: did because Cal was exactly so that would have been
- 58:55Speaker 3: two thousand and seven, two thousand and eight, something like that.
- 58:58Speaker 4: But uh, anyway, all right, no, dude, thirteen, Oh it
- 59:04Speaker 4: was Oh it was after man during Bud DePriest Tommy.
- 59:08Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, okay, so so big news yesterday, Major League Baseball.
- 59:16Speaker 2: What do you think about Justin Verlander saying he's gonna
- 59:19Speaker 2: call it quits after the season.
- 59:23Speaker 3: Look mad respect to Justin Verlander for still wanting to
- 59:26Speaker 3: go out there and pitch. But with all due respect,
- 59:29Speaker 3: if I'm married to Kate Upton, I'm retiring fifteen years.
- 59:35Speaker 3: I'm just saying.
- 59:38Speaker 4: She playing baseball's fun. Why he's not even good looking
- 59:42Speaker 4: is the thing about it.
- 59:43Speaker 2: There is no part of him that I think is
- 59:45Speaker 2: good looking, and she's still amazingly beautiful.
- 59:48Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, I'll readily admit that.
- 59:50Speaker 3: By the way, she so on spears on Sports, which
- 59:53Speaker 3: follows us here every day. He does birthdays every day,
- 59:57Speaker 3: and I it's kind of misogynistic. Eight them all on
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: a scale of one to five. Well, while I was out,
- 1:00:04Speaker 3: they had Matt doing that. Kate Upton came up and
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: Matt gave her a three point five really out of five? Yeah,
- 1:00:16Speaker 3: five as far as looks. Wow, Okay, what's wrong?
- 1:00:21Speaker 4: Very good?
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: Oh maybe that's not his style. Maybe he doesn't like blonde,
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: beautiful girls. I mean, that's just the only thing I
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: can think of.
- 1:00:29Speaker 3: I don't know who.
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: I always thought one lady was the prettiest lady in
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: the world. Well, probably two, and they're two completely different women.
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: I always thought Selma Hayak was one of the most
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: beautiful women in the world, and I was always attracted
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: not just to her her appearance, but also her personality.
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: She comes across as a really nice person. And the
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: other one, I'm gonna throw you for a major league curve. Okay,
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: And I'm sorry. And I apologize to my wife about
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: this all the time because she knows I have a
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: definite attraction to this young lady.
- 1:01:06Speaker 4: I've always thought Paris Hilton was beautiful.
- 1:01:09Speaker 3: I see it told you. I told you.
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: Yes, I always thought Paris Hilton was one of the
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: prettiest girls in the world.
- 1:01:15Speaker 3: I don't know why that is.
- 1:01:17Speaker 4: My two are Sophia Vargara.
- 1:01:20Speaker 3: Oh, I love her.
- 1:01:21Speaker 4: See to me, it's not just her appearance, because she
- 1:01:24Speaker 4: is pretty, but I think she is funny. Well she's
- 1:01:28Speaker 4: she's got that accent man.
- 1:01:30Speaker 3: Oh yes, oh yes. Did you like her dating or
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: was she going out with the whole Tom Brady thing?
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: Was that a thing?
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: Or was that just kind of we'll call it a flame? Okay,
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: all right, we always had those as kids. This summer fleeing. Yeah, yeah, exactly, Okay,
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: we know.
- 1:01:47Speaker 4: Is Fergie love Fergi? Yeah?
- 1:01:51Speaker 3: You lost me there, but that's my parents. Paris Hilton,
- 1:01:56Speaker 3: you see exactly. Well, I mean she's pretty. I mean
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: I can't help you have no taste now with the
- 1:02:04Speaker 3: only thing I think it was Fergie every time is
- 1:02:06Speaker 3: her NBA? Was it national anthem? That was bad? Yeah?
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: That was embarrassing. I mean that ranks up there with
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: Rosie O'donnald's.
- 1:02:22Speaker 3: Come.
- 1:02:22Speaker 4: I'm not backing off that you you surely you're teasing.
- 1:02:27Speaker 4: I'm not. That was embarrassing. She did it in her
- 1:02:32Speaker 4: character from the show it was. I thought, no, you
- 1:02:37Speaker 4: don't disrespect the NAT I like all.
- 1:02:40Speaker 3: The bad ones. What's the one the other NBA one?
- 1:02:43Speaker 3: The track guy saying, oh, yeah, that was terrible. What's
- 1:02:47Speaker 3: his name? I can't think his, but his was I
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: thought was okay, everybody hates was terrible. The NBA players
- 1:02:54Speaker 3: were laughing at him, adding it was horrible. Okay, all right, then,
- 1:02:59Speaker 3: well you gotta take another break. Five O two three
- 1:03:01Speaker 3: four fourteen fifty. You want to call in five O
- 1:03:03Speaker 3: two four one four fourteen fifty. You want to text in,
- 1:03:06Speaker 3: We'll get to your Texas soon as you can get
- 1:03:08Speaker 3: back Green tweet me at just the Cat Radio.
- 1:03:11Speaker 4: Stay right there. We got more to talk about.
- 1:03:38Speaker 6: Well, I hope few have fun splashing in the slack
- 1:03:42Speaker 6: tie and chaparon over on the flipside.
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: All right, what I know about made a for true?
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: These songs aren't for me, there for you.
- 1:03:56Speaker 3: Memories like videos fly through my head. The same was
- 1:04:01Speaker 3: are you okay today?
- 1:04:07Speaker 4: I exactly? I mean, I just I love this is
- 1:04:13Speaker 4: the part.
- 1:04:14Speaker 3: I wish people could see what you do offline because
- 1:04:17Speaker 3: it just it's to me, it's just as much in
- 1:04:21Speaker 3: it might be more entertaining that what you do on radio.
- 1:04:24Speaker 4: But yeah, you just made up your own song, right there.
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: So all right, Best People magazine came out with the
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: best and worst of national anthems?
- 1:04:36Speaker 4: Are you ready the best one? Which I.
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: Exactly you. You are never going to be able to
- 1:04:44Speaker 2: convince me otherwise. First of all, I loved her. I thought,
- 1:04:48Speaker 2: she you talk about amazingly beautiful women. I thought back
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: in the day, she was unbelievably beautiful.
- 1:04:56Speaker 4: I loved I.
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: Loved Whitney Houston. Yeah we did. And uh, worst Fergie,
- 1:05:05Speaker 2: yeah right below it. Best Lady Gaga. This was back
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: in Super Bowl fifty. I don't remember this one, but
- 1:05:14Speaker 2: she has a beautiful voice. Sure, yeah, and that was
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: really good for the I doubt you watched it. But
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: the UFC two fifty at the White House, they did
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: the national anthem for that and it was awesome, really okay, cool?
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: Worst ingrid Andres Who is that? I have no idea
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: who she is. This was at the twenty twenty four
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: MLB home run Derby. I don't know her, but Carl
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: Lewis is who you were trying to think of? Yes,
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: at the NBA this was fine? Did you really now it?
- 1:05:48Speaker 2: Wasn't perfect. No, but the dude's not a singer. He's
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: a track star, all right. The next one, one of
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: the best was Jimmy Hendrix back at nineteen sixty nine
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: Woodstock when he just played it exactly right underneath that
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: worst Roseanne Barr. I agree with that, one of the Absolutely,
- 1:06:11Speaker 2: you don't sit there and take a care on the
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: character and and play that.
- 1:06:16Speaker 4: You just don't do that.
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: One of the best. But if you like to do that,
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: she did it well, well, she do do that in
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: a perfect way. She definitely do do that. One of
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: the best Chris Stapleton for twenty twenty three Super Bowl.
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: I don't remember that, but he's got a unique voice.
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: I like Chris Stapleton and I like his whole story.
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: One of the worst Steven Tyler at the two thousand
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: and one Indianapolis five hundred. Another one that says one
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: of the best was Mariah Carey, who sang at the
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: two thousand and two Super Bowl. You know, back in
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: the day she was had a beautiful voice. I asked, yoh,
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: she was definitely Chris. One of the worst. Christina Aguilera
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: at the twenty eleven Super Bowl. A lot of Super
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: Bowl ones there, So there you go. There's there's people
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: magazines list so of some of the best in some
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: of the worst. But Carl Lewis is who you were
- 1:07:16Speaker 2: trying to think of, and it was it was horrific.
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: I think what made it priceless is that the players
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: were trying to keep back their laughter.
- 1:07:24Speaker 4: That's what I enjoyed.
- 1:07:26Speaker 3: Uh.
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: One person said, uh, Bud Dupree, Will Levis, Wandel Robinson,
- 1:07:31Speaker 2: and c Ryde Chris Rodriguez. Chris Rodriguez is one I
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: left out, and that's a good one as far as
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: some of the best UK football players the last ten years.
- 1:07:40Speaker 3: Yeah, we can expand this. I'm right there with you.
- 1:07:44Speaker 3: And I loved his nickname see Rye. But he hasn't
- 1:07:47Speaker 3: done anything in the NFL.
- 1:07:50Speaker 4: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:07:50Speaker 3: I mean if I told you five years ago that
- 1:07:54Speaker 3: you would have Chris Rodriguez and and Ray why can't
- 1:07:59Speaker 3: I think of his name, the.
- 1:08:01Speaker 4: Vanderbilt guy, Ray Davis, Ray Davis.
- 1:08:05Speaker 3: Yeah, but I would have told you that Ray Davis
- 1:08:07Speaker 3: would end up having a better career than Chris Rodriguez.
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: You'd have been like, no way, No, I don't know
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: if I necessarily agree with that. I would have figured
- 1:08:15Speaker 2: Ray Davis would have had probably a better career than
- 1:08:19Speaker 2: Chris Rodriguez.
- 1:08:20Speaker 3: I think so.
- 1:08:21Speaker 4: Yeah, I would have never thought that. I listen.
- 1:08:24Speaker 2: I've always wondered if ray Davis would have had the
- 1:08:28Speaker 2: opportunity to come to UK earlier, would he have done it.
- 1:08:33Speaker 2: I've often wondered that. But long positions are probably punters
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: and quarterback in O line. I agree on the punters
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: and quarterback offensive line. I don't know if I necessarily
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: agree or the longest position four years on average. Yeah,
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: I was gonna say they're probably one of the worst,
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: aren't they.
- 1:08:53Speaker 3: Well, there's just so many of them. If you're a
- 1:08:55Speaker 3: big body and they're constantly getting hit, they got that.
- 1:09:01Speaker 3: They have to have more knee injuries than anything else.
- 1:09:04Speaker 4: Probably head injuries too.
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: Well yeah, yeah, exactly One person said Wandell Robinson. Yes,
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: you're exactly correct. So Wandell was one of my favorites.
- 1:09:16Speaker 2: I'm trying to get Wandell come.
- 1:09:18Speaker 4: On the show.
- 1:09:18Speaker 3: He's agreed to come on.
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: It's just we're trying to get the timing right, and
- 1:09:22Speaker 2: unfortunately timing's even worse now.
- 1:09:25Speaker 3: But we'll figure it.
- 1:09:26Speaker 4: Time to get Wandell because I love Wandell. He's a
- 1:09:28Speaker 4: great kid.
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: Patrick said, I would have given Kate Upton a five
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: out of five.
- 1:09:34Speaker 4: That's what she deserves. Really, how old is she?
- 1:09:38Speaker 3: Now? Who cares? I mean, I'm just being quick, okay,
- 1:09:46Speaker 3: all right, Oh my gosh, what how old do you think?
- 1:09:51Speaker 3: She is?
- 1:09:52Speaker 4: Forty two? Thirty four?
- 1:09:55Speaker 3: That's all?
- 1:09:57Speaker 4: Verlander married young?
- 1:09:59Speaker 3: Wow? Wow? Okay, So how old is Furlander? He's forty,
- 1:10:03Speaker 3: So there's she's thirty two, he's forty three, Is that right?
- 1:10:07Speaker 3: I think he's forty thirty four. Okay, nine years is
- 1:10:10Speaker 3: not that bad.
- 1:10:11Speaker 4: It's only nine years.
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, you sound like it was much more. At
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: what age does it get creepy for a man or
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: a woman to be married to each other as far
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: as their age?
- 1:10:23Speaker 4: Difin Phil Belichick and his girlfriend. But where does it start?
- 1:10:28Speaker 3: Though?
- 1:10:28Speaker 2: Because you're right about that, that's that's granddaddy area, and
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: I think that's just the weirdest thing. But what age
- 1:10:35Speaker 2: do you think? Is it more than ten years? Is
- 1:10:38Speaker 2: it more than fifteen? Where do you think the cutoff
- 1:10:41Speaker 2: should be for a normal person to be dating another
- 1:10:44Speaker 2: person or married to another person?
- 1:10:46Speaker 4: Look, if both people are of age, you're not gonna
- 1:10:49Speaker 4: answer me.
- 1:10:50Speaker 3: I don't love is love, Michael. I don't see a
- 1:10:53Speaker 3: reason for there to be a cutoff. Now, forty years
- 1:10:56Speaker 3: feels like a long time, right, But when you put
- 1:10:58Speaker 3: it in perspective of seventy and thirty versus like fifty
- 1:11:03Speaker 3: and ten, seventy and thirty doesn't sound exactly fifty year
- 1:11:08Speaker 3: old dating a ten year old? What are you talking about?
- 1:11:10Speaker 4: What I'm saying? If they're both of age, I don't
- 1:11:12Speaker 4: think age matter.
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: It doesn't I don't think Okay, all right, listen, people
- 1:11:17Speaker 2: are people, and they're gonna judge when they see Bill
- 1:11:21Speaker 2: Belichick coming with that girl of his that clearly is
- 1:11:24Speaker 2: running his life. But when Justin as Well said, not
- 1:11:28Speaker 2: Rosie O'Donnell, laugh out loud, Yes, look, Rosie o'donald terrible,
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: and thank you for sending me how old Kate Upton is.
- 1:11:36Speaker 2: It's amazing people know how old Kate right away? Would
- 1:11:41Speaker 2: you really?
- 1:11:42Speaker 3: Yeah? Me?
- 1:11:43Speaker 4: That's nuts?
- 1:11:46Speaker 2: On Patrick said, I think I have a chance if
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: they break up. Yeah, no, you don't, Patrick. I don't
- 1:11:53Speaker 2: even have to see your face and I know you
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: don't have a chance. So sorry, sorry, Is that rude
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: to me to say that?
- 1:11:58Speaker 4: I don't think. I don't think any of us would.
- 1:12:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:12:01Speaker 2: Yeah, Listen, going back to UK and the men's basketball
- 1:12:04Speaker 2: team going to see Kenny Chesse.
- 1:12:06Speaker 4: I never got to finish what I was gonna say.
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: I know, sorry, h but weren't you surprised that their
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: choice of concert was going to see a country music act?
- 1:12:17Speaker 2: Do you how many in on the team do you
- 1:12:21Speaker 2: think knew who Kenny Chesney was? And if they knew him,
- 1:12:24Speaker 2: how many of the players do you think knew a
- 1:12:27Speaker 2: single song of his?
- 1:12:29Speaker 4: I'm gonna say four, four guys knew of him and
- 1:12:34Speaker 4: two new songs?
- 1:12:38Speaker 3: So why go? Then there's probably because who's the oldest
- 1:12:42Speaker 3: statesman on this team, Trent Noah exactly. Oh so you
- 1:12:48Speaker 3: think it's a Trent no It might have been a decision. Guys,
- 1:12:51Speaker 3: we're gonna go. You're gonna love him. He's awesome, all
- 1:12:54Speaker 3: these great songs, because when I think about the Kentucky
- 1:12:57Speaker 3: guys that know of Kenny and know his songs, Trent
- 1:13:00Speaker 3: I know is the first one that comes to my mind.
- 1:13:02Speaker 4: It is Okay, Yeah, So what was his nickname last year?
- 1:13:06Speaker 4: The Mamba?
- 1:13:07Speaker 2: The Somebody's going to text me and tell me it
- 1:13:10Speaker 2: was something mamba, but yeah, yeah, and which I thought
- 1:13:14Speaker 2: it was an appropriate nickname. I liked it, so anyway,
- 1:13:19Speaker 2: I just I found it interesting that they went over there.
- 1:13:22Speaker 2: I don't know if you saw this or not, but
- 1:13:25Speaker 2: I thought this was absolutely fascinating. There was a lady
- 1:13:31Speaker 2: that road all the way from California and from Monterey, California,
- 1:13:40Speaker 2: which is up there. I think that's just south of
- 1:13:42Speaker 2: San Francisco's where Carmel, California, where Pebble Beaches. She rode
- 1:13:47Speaker 2: from Monterey, California to a Woha o Wahoo, Hawaii on
- 1:13:53Speaker 2: July third, twenty twenty six, is when she landed. She
- 1:13:56Speaker 2: went twenty four hundred miles by herself in across the
- 1:14:03Speaker 2: Pacific Ocean in forty three days, seventeen hours, and fifty
- 1:14:07Speaker 2: five minutes. Fastest person ever male or female to roll
- 1:14:11Speaker 2: solo from California, Hawaii. Fastest woman to row solo from California,
- 1:14:16Speaker 2: Hawaii breaking.
- 1:14:17Speaker 3: Are you ready for this? Breaking the previous women's record
- 1:14:21Speaker 3: of eighty six days, ten hours and five minutes.
- 1:14:24Speaker 4: She cut it in half. She she did it in
- 1:14:26Speaker 4: forty three.
- 1:14:27Speaker 2: Days, fastest overall solo crossing, surpassing the previous men's record
- 1:14:33Speaker 2: of fifty two days, thirteen hours, and seventeen minutes, and
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: first American woman to row solo across the Mid Pacific
- 1:14:40Speaker 2: from California to Hawaii, youngest woman to complete the solo
- 1:14:44Speaker 2: California to Hawaii row. How amazing is that feat right there?
- 1:14:50Speaker 3: I mean, that's pretty spectacular. I have way more questions
- 1:14:54Speaker 3: though than I should, like, Yes, what do you I
- 1:14:58Speaker 3: do too? Go? I'm ready for these questions. Yes, how
- 1:15:02Speaker 3: do you make your food? How do you stop and
- 1:15:05Speaker 3: eat your food? What do you do for the bathroom?
- 1:15:08Speaker 3: Or I mean, are you storing all these waters that
- 1:15:11Speaker 3: you're gonna have to drink? Yes? Yes?
- 1:15:14Speaker 2: Or does she have like a water making purification system
- 1:15:18Speaker 2: on the row boat to be able to do that?
- 1:15:20Speaker 2: I mean, you know, wasn't there was a lady from
- 1:15:24Speaker 2: Louisville that did that too?
- 1:15:25Speaker 4: Wasn't there?
- 1:15:27Speaker 3: I don't remember? Yeah, there there there was. But to me,
- 1:15:31Speaker 3: I have more questions on how you do stuff? What
- 1:15:35Speaker 3: do you do when a storm comes in?
- 1:15:36Speaker 4: She had to have a boat beside her, right? You
- 1:15:39Speaker 4: think she had an escort?
- 1:15:40Speaker 3: Had to.
- 1:15:42Speaker 2: I didn't see. I didn't see where anyone wrote about
- 1:15:45Speaker 2: it or anything else like that. But I mean she
- 1:15:48Speaker 2: did it for a foundation called the Whale Hanson. The
- 1:15:51Speaker 2: foundation was created in nineteen ninety five after the death
- 1:15:54Speaker 2: of Grand Canyon guide Curtis Whale was his nickname Hansen,
- 1:15:58Speaker 2: and provides resource such as mental health counseling, emergency financial assistance,
- 1:16:03Speaker 2: wellness and peer support programs help for guides transitioning out
- 1:16:07Speaker 2: of seasonal river work.
- 1:16:08Speaker 4: I mean, this is really cool what she did this for.
- 1:16:11Speaker 4: I love this.
- 1:16:13Speaker 2: Her name's Findler and Kelsey Findler, and I thought this
- 1:16:19Speaker 2: was just an absolutely fascinating story. And of course there's
- 1:16:24Speaker 2: going to be a book about her doing this, and
- 1:16:27Speaker 2: I would love a document, wouldn't you love it if
- 1:16:30Speaker 2: she actually documented it?
- 1:16:32Speaker 3: And then.
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: Like if she had a YouTube channel or something like
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: that and you get to see video of certain things
- 1:16:41Speaker 2: she was trying to do and explain how she did
- 1:16:44Speaker 2: survive these forty three days, because if she's doing it
- 1:16:49Speaker 2: this fast, that didn't leave much time to just lay around, eat,
- 1:16:53Speaker 2: use the bathroom, or just do nothing. She had to
- 1:16:56Speaker 2: be rowing how much per day to get and break
- 1:17:00Speaker 2: all those records. It was how far twenty four hundred miles, so.
- 1:17:06Speaker 3: It divide that bout forty three and she was going
- 1:17:11Speaker 3: fifty five miles a day nearly. Wow, fifty a day's
- 1:17:17Speaker 3: unfreaking believable. Imagine the things that she saw along the way, right,
- 1:17:23Speaker 3: I'm sure she saw some pretty cool stuff. Oh absolutely.
- 1:17:27Speaker 3: But I just again, though, I go back to the point,
- 1:17:30Speaker 3: was what if the storm comes? I mean, how do you.
- 1:17:32Speaker 2: Take a rowboat and get through large waves? I don't know,
- 1:17:38Speaker 2: there's more questions. I have a mountain bamba there you go,
- 1:17:43Speaker 2: justin as well, since that that was a mountain mamba.
- 1:17:45Speaker 2: But I just I've always wondered, how do you do
- 1:17:48Speaker 2: something like this and survive and are able to do that?
- 1:17:53Speaker 4: And would she do it again? Why not? Might as
- 1:17:56Speaker 4: well go for forty two days?
- 1:17:58Speaker 3: Well? Well, why not? Exactly?
- 1:17:59Speaker 2: Why not just beat her own record? Because that's a
- 1:18:02Speaker 2: record that's she beat the men's by ten days. Pretty
- 1:18:07Speaker 2: so it is, and I think that's one of the
- 1:18:10Speaker 2: coolest stories out there that I have not seen yet.
- 1:18:12Speaker 2: All Right, Uh, when we come back, the World Cup
- 1:18:15Speaker 2: Final halftime show has been announced. I want to talk
- 1:18:19Speaker 2: about that and see what you think of the lineup
- 1:18:21Speaker 2: and uh, plus, uh, congratulations to a former women's basketball player.
- 1:18:27Speaker 2: We'll talk about her as well as soon as we
- 1:18:29Speaker 2: get back, one more segment. Just the cat's coming right
- 1:18:32Speaker 2: up our cash.
- 1:18:35Speaker 3: Some of this some craze. Who ever thought this would last?
- 1:18:44Speaker 3: You know.
- 1:18:48Speaker 6: Myself telltales? Still good for my health. Nobody work Friday,
- 1:19:03Speaker 6: Thursday night comes hot, a little less work big, the same.
- 1:19:08Speaker 3: Thing, now giving at all.
- 1:19:12Speaker 4: Did everybody hear how you just reacted right there? Of
- 1:19:15Speaker 4: course they didn't.
- 1:19:16Speaker 2: But you're just celebrating right there. Yeah, we're both off tomorrow,
- 1:19:22Speaker 2: travel day for you and I. I got a fun
- 1:19:25Speaker 2: day for you, travel day for me. So but we'll
- 1:19:28Speaker 2: be back Monday and uh and be able to do that.
- 1:19:31Speaker 3: But all right, let's talk about congratulations or in order
- 1:19:35Speaker 3: right now for former UK women's basketball player Ryan Howard.
- 1:19:40Speaker 4: Are you ready for this? I didn't realize that.
- 1:19:44Speaker 3: She was named for the fourth time as NBA All
- 1:19:49Speaker 3: Star Game and she's only been in the NBA w
- 1:19:53Speaker 3: NBA for the five years. That's amazing to me.
- 1:19:57Speaker 4: He's one of the best players in the league for sure,
- 1:19:59Speaker 4: she really he is.
- 1:20:00Speaker 2: And uh, I wonder if she could come back and
- 1:20:02Speaker 2: play a fifth season at UK. Wouldn't that be fun
- 1:20:05Speaker 2: to have her come back and play for Kitty Brush.
- 1:20:08Speaker 4: I'd be a blast, but don't need her. You're right,
- 1:20:10Speaker 4: but it would be fun.
- 1:20:12Speaker 3: He is he is.
- 1:20:13Speaker 2: But this season, through twenty games, Ryan Howard has average
- 1:20:17Speaker 2: score nineteen points per game, four rebounds per game, three assists,
- 1:20:21Speaker 2: and league leading two and a half steals per game.
- 1:20:24Speaker 2: It's just amazing how well I didn't realize it had
- 1:20:28Speaker 2: been five years, and four of those years she has
- 1:20:31Speaker 2: been in the All Star Games. Yes, are they the
- 1:20:36Speaker 2: dreamy Yeah? Okay, hey, good for me exactly. Man, I'm
- 1:20:41Speaker 2: really proud of myself. Never watched the game, but I
- 1:20:44Speaker 2: certainly know who the team is.
- 1:20:45Speaker 4: Never watched the game. No, I've never watched a women's pas. No,
- 1:20:49Speaker 4: I haven't. Oh, they're entertained.
- 1:20:50Speaker 3: If you get the right two teams and you get
- 1:20:52Speaker 3: enough superstar power on the Really, they're fun to watch.
- 1:20:56Speaker 2: I would watch her, but no, I I As far
- 1:20:58Speaker 2: as women's basketball, I watch UK women's basketball because they're
- 1:21:01Speaker 2: fun to watch. I do watch them on a regular basis, but.
- 1:21:04Speaker 4: That's kind of it. I don't expand it from there.
- 1:21:06Speaker 4: I've never watched.
- 1:21:07Speaker 2: I guess it's because I kind of got tired of
- 1:21:10Speaker 2: how certain players were acting on the NBA w n
- 1:21:13Speaker 2: B A and it just kind of it was a
- 1:21:15Speaker 2: little bit of fatigue right there. So it's like if
- 1:21:17Speaker 2: you tell you're going to act and then treat probably
- 1:21:21Speaker 2: the best player that you have out there, uh in
- 1:21:24Speaker 2: a in an appropriate way, it's just like you don't
- 1:21:27Speaker 2: you don't deserve my uh my support.
- 1:21:29Speaker 3: By the way, did you see she finished eleventh in
- 1:21:32Speaker 3: the All Star voting for guards? How that's what Candice
- 1:21:37Speaker 3: Parker came out yesterday and said you all need to
- 1:21:39Speaker 3: go get some therapy, voting her eleventh.
- 1:21:42Speaker 4: It's become a popular popularity contest, hasn't it.
- 1:21:46Speaker 3: That's basically what it is.
- 1:21:47Speaker 2: And that's women for you, right WHOA, Michelle, you might
- 1:21:54Speaker 2: need to address this right now. Okay, just letting you
- 1:21:57Speaker 2: know if you're listening. Justin Aswell texted she saw a
- 1:22:02Speaker 2: lot of water talking about Kelsey Findler.
- 1:22:05Speaker 4: Yes, she did see a lot, but I'm sure she
- 1:22:07Speaker 4: saw like whales and dolphins and stuff too.
- 1:22:10Speaker 3: Sharks.
- 1:22:11Speaker 4: Do you ever get nervous out there? Absolutely?
- 1:22:15Speaker 2: You have to get It's like, okay, if I have
- 1:22:18Speaker 2: a friend that has a plane, the first time he
- 1:22:20Speaker 2: flew over water and did not see land, he got
- 1:22:24Speaker 2: really nervous about that.
- 1:22:25Speaker 4: Guarantee you and I guess you get to a point
- 1:22:28Speaker 4: where you get used to it. But I don't know.
- 1:22:30Speaker 2: On a boat and you don't see land. I've experienced
- 1:22:34Speaker 2: it a few times.
- 1:22:35Speaker 3: I mean outside of the ship with your cruise. I
- 1:22:38Speaker 3: mean once you yeah, but that's a ship that that
- 1:22:40Speaker 3: didn't bother me. I don't feel like people realize just
- 1:22:43Speaker 3: how vast the oceans are. And oh, exactly, once you're
- 1:22:47Speaker 3: on the part of the ocean that you can't see
- 1:22:49Speaker 3: any land, I'm sure it is pretty truppy.
- 1:22:51Speaker 2: And if you don't think that the world is round,
- 1:22:55Speaker 2: go out in the water and see nothing but water,
- 1:22:59Speaker 2: and you'll see the curvature of the of the earth
- 1:23:01Speaker 2: for sure, you will.
- 1:23:03Speaker 4: I mean, it's in it's a mess. It's absolutely fascinating
- 1:23:07Speaker 4: to me.
- 1:23:08Speaker 2: World Cup Final halftime show was announced and you I'm
- 1:23:13Speaker 2: gonna go through the lineup, don't say anything, and I
- 1:23:15Speaker 2: want your comment afterwards.
- 1:23:17Speaker 4: Okay, so you just tell me what you think.
- 1:23:20Speaker 2: Justin Bieber, Shakira, BTS, Madonna, and Coldplay will all play Sunday,
- 1:23:27Speaker 2: July nineteenth at met Life Stadium for an eleven minute
- 1:23:31Speaker 2: Super Bowl type performance.
- 1:23:33Speaker 4: What do you think of this?
- 1:23:36Speaker 3: It's it's it's a lineup.
- 1:23:37Speaker 2: I mean, it's it's a it's a bizarre lineup, but
- 1:23:40Speaker 2: it's a lineup and it's got a little bit of
- 1:23:43Speaker 2: its flavor for everyone out there, in every generation out there.
- 1:23:48Speaker 4: What do you think of it.
- 1:23:49Speaker 3: I've been very on board with the World Cup. I've
- 1:23:52Speaker 3: loved everything about the World Cup. This sucks, this sucks.
- 1:23:57Speaker 3: Get it, Get it all the way out of here.
- 1:24:00Speaker 3: I'm not excited. You just knit rattled off what six? Five?
- 1:24:03Speaker 4: Six people? Not excited about a single?
- 1:24:05Speaker 3: One up?
- 1:24:05Speaker 4: Get them all out here?
- 1:24:06Speaker 3: Really, I won't watch them. You're not even excited about Shakira.
- 1:24:11Speaker 4: No, we've seen that song and dance before. Wow, the
- 1:24:15Speaker 4: part that really was surprising. You want to run it
- 1:24:17Speaker 4: back and give me Shakira and j Lo. I'm cool
- 1:24:20Speaker 4: with that. Nah Eber and BTS and Madonnia.
- 1:24:24Speaker 3: I don't.
- 1:24:24Speaker 4: I don't need any of that. BTS. Who is BTS?
- 1:24:27Speaker 3: I don't even know that. See, okay, you didn't even
- 1:24:30Speaker 3: know who they were. I like, I like Coldplay. I
- 1:24:36Speaker 3: think that'll be fun. Yeah, they're a South Korean boy band.
- 1:24:40Speaker 3: Oh they are?
- 1:24:40Speaker 2: Okay, Okay, So there is that a part of that
- 1:24:43Speaker 2: whole k pop thing that I don't know, okay, but
- 1:24:48Speaker 2: I know BTS is pretty huge because I know there
- 1:24:51Speaker 2: is a girl band, girl group that's from Korea. They're
- 1:24:54Speaker 2: supposed to be pretty popular. And then you got that
- 1:24:56Speaker 2: one guy that has that Gangam style.
- 1:25:00Speaker 3: That's the only that's the only song he has, and
- 1:25:04Speaker 3: it seems like every time I see him, that's the
- 1:25:06Speaker 3: only song he's singing. Actually, is not the only song
- 1:25:10Speaker 3: that's popular. Yes, I mean that's probably that's popular popular
- 1:25:15Speaker 3: one here. But let's let's well, let's clarify it. I
- 1:25:20Speaker 3: live in the United States. I don't live in Korea.
- 1:25:22Speaker 3: Well that's why you don't think he's popular. Well, okay,
- 1:25:26Speaker 3: then he's not real popular. He might be popular in
- 1:25:28Speaker 3: his home country, but as far as the United States,
- 1:25:31Speaker 3: does he have anything that is popular outside of Korea?
- 1:25:36Speaker 2: No, the answer is no. Maybe I don't know the answers.
- 1:25:39Speaker 2: I'm right, Michael Bennett, thank you very much. I just
- 1:25:44Speaker 2: I saw this lineup.
- 1:25:45Speaker 4: I don't know. Does Justin Bieber have any popular new
- 1:25:49Speaker 4: songs out right now?
- 1:25:50Speaker 3: I don't know a thing about Justin Bieber. Why Madonna,
- 1:25:54Speaker 3: I mean no offense, she was popular forty years ago.
- 1:25:59Speaker 3: Maybe I'll give her thirty years ago, but what has
- 1:26:04Speaker 3: she done lately? I just I don't want to see
- 1:26:07Speaker 3: a sixty year old lady out there trying to act
- 1:26:10Speaker 3: like she's still twenty.
- 1:26:11Speaker 4: Okay, I see you don't not even cold Play? Which
- 1:26:15Speaker 4: one with you in cold Play?
- 1:26:17Speaker 3: That's what I Coldplay's fine, But when I think about
- 1:26:21Speaker 3: a halftime show with cold Play, that that does nothing.
- 1:26:24Speaker 2: For Okay, all right, then, well I'm so sorry you
- 1:26:29Speaker 2: feel that way. But so you're not excited about the
- 1:26:33Speaker 2: halftime show? That was probably the only thing I was
- 1:26:35Speaker 2: going to be tuning into.
- 1:26:36Speaker 3: I don't even know who the matchup's gonna be for
- 1:26:39Speaker 3: the championship, but I'm way more excited about that than
- 1:26:42Speaker 3: the halftimes. Are you all right?
- 1:26:44Speaker 2: Are you going to spend any of this coming weekend
- 1:26:47Speaker 2: watching any soccer at all?
- 1:26:49Speaker 4: I will watch majority? Yes? Will you really?
- 1:26:53Speaker 3: Or so?
- 1:26:54Speaker 4: Have you now picked another team to root for? I'm
- 1:26:57Speaker 4: on team Norway?
- 1:26:59Speaker 3: Are you really? Because they got that one guy that's
- 1:27:02Speaker 3: really what's that Holland? Is that what his name is?
- 1:27:06Speaker 4: He's a beast.
- 1:27:07Speaker 2: He's been playing professionally since I think somebody said my
- 1:27:11Speaker 2: wife was telling me about him.
- 1:27:13Speaker 4: He looks Norwegian he does.
- 1:27:14Speaker 3: I mean, he's got an odd look, but he sees
- 1:27:19Speaker 3: he does a lot of antics on the field for fun.
- 1:27:21Speaker 3: It seems like, oh he's he's just a big kid
- 1:27:23Speaker 3: out there, which makes him a lot of fun to watch.
- 1:27:25Speaker 3: And on top of that, he's just really good. I
- 1:27:28Speaker 3: think he's played in sixty one international games, maybe sixty two,
- 1:27:33Speaker 3: and he scored or No. Fifty four international games and
- 1:27:36Speaker 3: he scored like sixty two goals. That's I mean, that's nuts.
- 1:27:39Speaker 4: Well, they were showing a video.
- 1:27:41Speaker 2: I watched a video of him a couple of days ago,
- 1:27:43Speaker 2: and it looked like he was absolutely doing nothing out
- 1:27:46Speaker 2: there on the field.
- 1:27:47Speaker 4: He's standing there, yeah, and then.
- 1:27:49Speaker 3: All of a sudden, the ball comes to his head
- 1:27:53Speaker 3: and he scores a goal off his head. It's like, well,
- 1:27:56Speaker 3: he was doing nothing just a second ago.
- 1:27:58Speaker 4: It looks like he was bored to here's with the game.
- 1:28:01Speaker 3: He That feels like something he learned from Messy, because
- 1:28:04Speaker 3: if you watch Messy something similar. He just walks everywhere
- 1:28:08Speaker 3: until he has to get into the action. Then he'll
- 1:28:10Speaker 3: take off, sprint and very much the way Holland's.
- 1:28:13Speaker 4: But no, for me, it's the it's the whole Holland, Norway.
- 1:28:17Speaker 4: Holland's his name. Oh okay, sorry, but Norway correct basically yeah,
- 1:28:24Speaker 4: but no.
- 1:28:24Speaker 3: They do the rowing thing after the games too, which
- 1:28:27Speaker 3: I think has been a lot of fun to watch,
- 1:28:28Speaker 3: where the players get on the field and they do
- 1:28:31Speaker 3: like the O and then the whole crowd's doing it.
- 1:28:33Speaker 4: It's it's awesome. I want to continue to see that.
- 1:28:36Speaker 2: Okay, uh, Patrick said, I think that's a good lineup
- 1:28:40Speaker 2: for the halftime show, but should be longer than eleven minutes.
- 1:28:44Speaker 4: I think it should be seven. That's garbage. Wow, all right,
- 1:28:51Speaker 4: this is what I had to know then.
- 1:28:53Speaker 2: As far as because you know you've got an absolute
- 1:28:56Speaker 2: international flavor, sure, uh, what would be justin Kaylin's halftime show?
- 1:29:06Speaker 2: I mean, because here's here's here's a first. Here's the
- 1:29:10Speaker 2: issue I have.
- 1:29:11Speaker 3: First of all, the World Cup is being hosted in Canada,
- 1:29:15Speaker 3: United States in Mexico, but the final is in the
- 1:29:18Speaker 3: United States, and they're having a band from England, Korea,
- 1:29:25Speaker 3: United States, South America?
- 1:29:28Speaker 4: Should it be just American bands?
- 1:29:33Speaker 3: I honestly, I don't know how this would work logistically,
- 1:29:37Speaker 3: But for me, I wouldn't have made an announcement yet
- 1:29:40Speaker 3: for the halftime show. I would have waited to see.
- 1:29:43Speaker 3: I would have potentially reached out to who I think
- 1:29:46Speaker 3: is gonna be in the championship, and then I'll put
- 1:29:49Speaker 3: the put together a halftime show revolving around those two teams.
- 1:29:53Speaker 3: So say it's like France versus Argentina. You get a
- 1:29:57Speaker 3: French group, you get an Argenta like the sound of
- 1:30:01Speaker 3: this that has some sort of tie to America, and bam,
- 1:30:04Speaker 3: that's the way we do it. Okay, I wouldn't. I
- 1:30:07Speaker 3: wouldn't put together a hodgepodge of five or six are
- 1:30:10Speaker 3: relevant artists?
- 1:30:12Speaker 2: Yeah, because it's not how do you go from Madonna
- 1:30:15Speaker 2: like a virgin to Shikira? I need to shake my
- 1:30:19Speaker 2: booty more. I mean I don't.
- 1:30:20Speaker 3: I don't. I don't see this happening by Cold exactly.
- 1:30:28Speaker 3: It's like transition.
- 1:30:30Speaker 2: No, it's not going to transition or going to Yellow.
- 1:30:34Speaker 2: I mean, it's just like okay, I mean, I don't.
- 1:30:37Speaker 2: I don't get this at all. One person said, how
- 1:30:41Speaker 2: is there no bad Bunny for World Cup? Yes, he
- 1:30:44Speaker 2: didn't want to pay.
- 1:30:45Speaker 3: They should have reversed that Bad Bunny should have been
- 1:30:47Speaker 3: the World Cup halftime. Give me all the tubers for
- 1:30:51Speaker 3: the super Bowl halftime and give me twenty five minutes.
- 1:30:54Speaker 2: Yeah, the whole Bad Bunny thing in the Super Bowl.
- 1:30:58Speaker 2: I I didn't really understand that either. It's it's and
- 1:31:02Speaker 2: I'm not trying to take away from his talent at
- 1:31:04Speaker 2: all and a little.
- 1:31:05Speaker 3: I know a lot of people, but you take of
- 1:31:08Speaker 3: football in the super Bowl, you think of America, and
- 1:31:12Speaker 3: it should be some kind of American band. It just
- 1:31:16Speaker 3: should be just like I, let's take Bad Bunny out
- 1:31:19Speaker 3: of it. I've never I guess I see why they
- 1:31:21Speaker 3: had the Rolling Stones or the U two. I don't know,
- 1:31:24Speaker 3: but I want an American band. There no offense to
- 1:31:27Speaker 3: YouTube and the Rolling Stones. I want an American band
- 1:31:30Speaker 3: playing for our American sport. You So, it's just it's
- 1:31:34Speaker 3: just kind of how I feel.
- 1:31:36Speaker 4: American band. Oh yeah, thank you? Who sang that song?
- 1:31:40Speaker 4: I bet you know? Let them do it?
- 1:31:42Speaker 2: Is all You're gonna tell me, Well, no, who sang
- 1:31:45Speaker 2: that song? I don't know, no, no, no, no, I
- 1:31:50Speaker 2: wouldn't a joke. I was asking you who really, I
- 1:31:52Speaker 2: don't remember who it was, but I'm some I'm sure
- 1:31:55Speaker 2: somebody will text me in a minute. But anyway, all right, Uh,
- 1:31:58Speaker 2: you're off to play golf this weekend, and I hope
- 1:32:00Speaker 2: you have fun. You get back Sunday. Are you playing
- 1:32:03Speaker 2: the entire weekend?
- 1:32:04Speaker 3: Uh?
- 1:32:04Speaker 4: No, so I'll be back Saturday night. Actually, oh really?
- 1:32:07Speaker 3: So yeah, they're gonna play I think twenty seven holes tomorrow.
- 1:32:11Speaker 3: I'm gonna opt to sit out so I can be
- 1:32:13Speaker 3: even more healthy for Saturday, because I was gonna say,
- 1:32:16Speaker 3: how are you gonna walk around to fit?
- 1:32:18Speaker 4: The way it is? No, I can walk today. Today
- 1:32:20Speaker 4: is actually the best it's felt in two weeks.
- 1:32:21Speaker 3: Oh it is.
- 1:32:22Speaker 4: I feel awesome. Well, I see the crutch behind you.
- 1:32:24Speaker 4: So I was just wondering, how is this gonna work?
- 1:32:26Speaker 3: It's precautionary, but I'm playing Saturday either way in that
- 1:32:28Speaker 3: big scramble. I don't care. Oh boy, but it feels
- 1:32:31Speaker 3: like it's gonna fall off on some Oh boy, all right,
- 1:32:33Speaker 3: hit him straight. I'll talk to you soon. All right, everybody,
- 1:32:35Speaker 3: thank you for listening. We'll see you soon. On Just
