- 1:22SPEAKER_00: I am glad to report at the Loopy Tortilla.
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: Stan Holt, the founder of Lupi Tortilla Tex Mex Restaurants, is not here today, which is a rarity because he's not feeling well.
- 1:34SPEAKER_00: He's under the weather.
- 1:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah, there's a lot of stuff going around.
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: But Sheila Mae Murray Holt is here.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: Do you still use the other name at all?
- 1:45unknown: Actually, Walter's here.
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: Walter's here?
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:48SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 1:49SPEAKER_05: No kidding.
- 1:50SPEAKER_05: He sure is.
- 1:50SPEAKER_05: Oh, good.
- 1:51SPEAKER_05: They drove all the way from Orange to come to the car together.
- 1:53SPEAKER_00: Well, I I I want we want to see him because I was bragging about him and his son, about how he has raised his son.
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: And it's all the whole drag racing thing, and his you with the junior drag racing thing.
- 2:09SPEAKER_00: Sheila, Sheila May and I have known each other as long as I have known Stan.
- 2:14SPEAKER_05: Yep.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: We met each other all together when I did the drag racing thing uh in 2006.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: And uh it was quite the time that I'll never forget.
- 2:24SPEAKER_00: And uh it was a great time at the Pomona Mining Company.
- 2:28SPEAKER_05: Yep, that was a good time.
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: It was it was a good time, and Sheila and I we left all of the drunkards on the other end of the restaurant, and at this end of the restaurant, she says, Let's dance.
- 2:40SPEAKER_00: And I said, We did, I am into that.
- 2:44SPEAKER_00: So we went down and the place was packed.
- 2:46SPEAKER_05: It was packed, it was packed.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: All the drag racers were there, and this this was a uh uh actually a pretty nice restaurant.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: Is it and I guess it's still there, Sheila.
- 2:57SPEAKER_05: I don't know.
- 2:58SPEAKER_05: I haven't been back since um we got kicked out.
- 3:04SPEAKER_05: Might have been our dance.
- 3:06SPEAKER_05: That's a good reason.
- 3:06SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I'm just saying.
- 3:08SPEAKER_01: Well, when he dances, it looks like his medication's kicking back.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: Or I need more of it.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: Or you need more of it.
- 3:13SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 3:15SPEAKER_00: So um we we had such a great time that evening, vaguely, I remember, that um we got out there and started dancing stupid stuff, and there were a lot of people in this dance floor area, and um, as it turned out, we wound up the only people on the dance floor, um, which is the reason we got kicked out.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and um they could see what we were doing, and they and there was a big circle around us, and everybody was going, What the hell is wrong with these people?
- 3:47SPEAKER_05: They need medication.
- 3:49SPEAKER_00: Yeah, more of us anyway.
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: So that's the story of uh Stan and Sheila and Don Armstrong, and and here we are today.
- 3:58SPEAKER_00: And I don't know why.
- 3:58SPEAKER_01: I don't think Stan would admit it.
- 4:00SPEAKER_01: You know, if he was here, he'd probably deny it.
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: Listen, Stan Stan didn't witness that part of the evening because Stan had his own thing going on down the way.
- 4:07SPEAKER_05: He was line dancing.
- 4:09SPEAKER_00: Was he line dancing?
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: Oh my god.
- 4:11SPEAKER_00: So he had his own thing going on, and Sheila and I had our own thing going on, and all of us had a great time.
- 4:17SPEAKER_00: We did, yeah, and uh it was it was really good.
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: Um Sheila, it's good to see you.
- 4:22SPEAKER_05: Good to see you, Ray Ray, uh Dawn.
- 4:24SPEAKER_00: No, no, I'm Ray Ray's Ray's good today.
- 4:28SPEAKER_00: Um, and I I was telling everybody, and for those that have just joined us, we are here at the uh Lupi Tortilla Tex Max for the tailpipes and tacos cruise in on this Sunday and um Sunday.
- 4:41SPEAKER_00: Saturday, it should be Sunday, uh huh.
- 4:43SPEAKER_00: Um, and I may remember Saturday later on, maybe tomorrow.
- 4:48SPEAKER_05: Depends on how many cocktails you have.
- 4:49SPEAKER_00: Well, I'm working on number two, okay.
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: Oh, so there is that, but I was telling everybody earlier, and I'm gonna repeat it because this is a different hour of the program, that there is something special about this cruise in.
- 5:08SPEAKER_00: And I've been to a lot of cruise-ins, there's something special about this, and I think that it's Stan and you thank you that have um turned this into a not only just the cars, but it's the camaraderie.
- 5:27SPEAKER_00: And I think that that's where it really comes together.
- 5:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah, um, I have never heard a bad thing from anybody about Stan or you.
- 5:39SPEAKER_05: Oh, you're just not listening to the right people.
- 5:43SPEAKER_00: I don't, I don't, I don't listen to those people.
- 5:45SPEAKER_05: That's good.
- 5:45SPEAKER_00: You don't need to, yeah.
- 5:47SPEAKER_05: And you know what?
- 5:47SPEAKER_05: Let them let them well.
- 5:49SPEAKER_00: Everybody's got negative stuff to say make everybody happy, yeah.
- 5:53SPEAKER_00: But um, this it's such a unique show, and it's always donate for the toys today, um, and get a ticket and go in there and get you a couple of tacos and a soft drink, and you're good to go.
- 6:04SPEAKER_00: They do have cocktails here, I'm gonna tell you that.
- 6:07SPEAKER_00: And as the show goes on today, you're gonna go, is he drunk?
- 6:12SPEAKER_05: Yes, not yet.
- 6:14SPEAKER_01: I'm working on it, but anyway, it sounds like he's Brazilian.
- 6:17SPEAKER_00: These things did you know that that's a Brazilian?
- 6:21SPEAKER_00: Brazilian bus?
- 6:21SPEAKER_05: I I saw the license plate.
- 6:23SPEAKER_00: Does it say that?
- 6:24SPEAKER_00: Yes, oh I he didn't tell me that.
- 6:25SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so we did that.
- 6:27SPEAKER_00: That that's a very unique, very expensive, worth a lot of money vehicle.
- 6:31SPEAKER_00: It is, isn't it?
- 6:33SPEAKER_00: Um, and I told him, I said, you know what really really draws me into that?
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: Take it any way you want to.
- 6:42SPEAKER_00: The curtains.
- 6:43SPEAKER_05: Oh, yeah.
- 6:44SPEAKER_00: And he says, you know, you're not the first person to say that.
- 6:47SPEAKER_00: Yeah, because that makes it unique.
- 6:50SPEAKER_00: Because that at that time period, you're too young to know, but at that time period, that would be a camper bus.
- 6:57SPEAKER_00: Yes, yes, you could close the you know, turn on the take some seats out, roll the other ones down, and whatever the case may be, you know, you got your camper.
- 7:06SPEAKER_05: Absolutely.
- 7:07SPEAKER_05: That's how they did it back in the day.
- 7:08SPEAKER_00: Did you ever date anybody that had a Volkswagen of any kind?
- 7:11SPEAKER_05: No, but my uh grandfather had a van that he basically that one, like that one, no, I like just a van van.
- 7:20SPEAKER_05: Just a van van.
- 7:22SPEAKER_05: Yes, and we go camping in it, and then that was the thing he had converted the inside of the van for.
- 7:26SPEAKER_00: Did it smell bad inside?
- 7:27SPEAKER_05: No.
- 7:28SPEAKER_05: Oh, if it did, I didn't remember.
- 7:29SPEAKER_05: I was 10.
- 7:30SPEAKER_05: I was worried about getting out there and riding my bike and swimming and doing all the fun things, yeah.
- 7:36SPEAKER_05: Yeah, all the good stuff.
- 7:37SPEAKER_00: So you're the spokesperson for uh the loopy tortilla Tex Mex restaurant chain this morning.
- 7:42SPEAKER_00: Oh if you didn't know already.
- 7:44SPEAKER_05: Yeah, thank you.
- 7:44SPEAKER_05: Well, Stan is unfortunately under the weather, so yes, I mentioned that to everybody.
- 7:49SPEAKER_00: And um Stan would normally be here and um doing his own show.
- 7:54SPEAKER_05: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 7:55SPEAKER_05: He likes he likes performing.
- 7:57SPEAKER_00: And that and that that has never changed, and that's one of the things that are endearing about uh our relationship.
- 8:04SPEAKER_00: Look at that sweet bit.
- 8:05SPEAKER_05: I know that's Jackson.
- 8:06SPEAKER_05: His daddy's my big helper on our motorhome.
- 8:09SPEAKER_00: I love it.
- 8:10SPEAKER_00: Well, um it it it's such a unique event and it doesn't happen often enough, and we've all talked about it.
- 8:18SPEAKER_00: And you know, you guys had uh a show here a couple of months ago that we missed because we had another commitment.
- 8:24SPEAKER_00: And um we're sorry that we did that because it's always this is the one show that we love coming to.
- 8:32SPEAKER_05: Yeah, Stan always um wants to make it a big deal.
- 8:35SPEAKER_05: I mean, it's important when we have you guys here and when you have music and when you have just everybody working together to make it a great car show because somebody everybody has choices in life and you want to go do something with your time that's fun.
- 8:49SPEAKER_05: So why not go somewhere where everybody's working hard to have fun and and support a good cause like that this weekend the um Toys for Tots and the Marines are here now and they're accepting toys.
- 9:03SPEAKER_05: Um so yeah.
- 9:05SPEAKER_04: But I like like Don said earlier, I think part of it is your and Stan's personalities come through because you're out here, you want everybody to enjoy, and and it's it's infectious.
- 9:16SPEAKER_04: You know, people want to be around people like that.
- 9:18SPEAKER_04: Yeah, humdrum.
- 9:20SPEAKER_05: And you know it's funny.
- 9:21SPEAKER_00: Um it I mean we go out to eat almost every night, and um a lot of but let me just say this you can cook, and I've had your meals.
- 9:32SPEAKER_00: Yes, I know you can.
- 9:33SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I don't like to, but I will, I will on occasion, yes.
- 9:38SPEAKER_05: But um where was I going with that?
- 9:41SPEAKER_01: Wow, these are good drinks.
- 9:43SPEAKER_05: Yeah, Nyquil and Day Kill Dayquil's catching up with me.
- 9:47SPEAKER_05: Um well, I lost that thought.
- 9:49SPEAKER_01: It's okay.
- 9:50SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'm I think we should have one we've got the uh the kids event going on.
- 9:54SPEAKER_04: Yeah, we want to talk about that.
- 9:56SPEAKER_04: Let's talk about that for a second.
- 9:57SPEAKER_01: I think we need to we need to have one of the youngsters interview one of the youngsters.
- 10:03SPEAKER_01: We need to interview one of the youngsters for their hot ride.
- 10:05SPEAKER_01: Good idea.
- 10:06SPEAKER_05: Yeah, there's probably I saw a couple more cars come up.
- 10:09SPEAKER_01: I adjusted the camera.
- 10:10SPEAKER_01: There's a bunch out there.
- 10:11SPEAKER_05: How many there might be like 10?
- 10:13SPEAKER_01: Boy, I think there's more.
- 10:15SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah.
- 10:16SPEAKER_05: So um we brought some of our pedal cars.
- 10:19SPEAKER_05: Um for each of Stan's grand's uh grandkids.
- 10:22SPEAKER_05: He has a pedal car and he put their names on them.
- 10:24SPEAKER_05: We have them up uh in our hangar um on display.
- 10:27SPEAKER_05: I know where they are.
- 10:28SPEAKER_05: Yep, yep.
- 10:29SPEAKER_05: And we just added a um a new one to our collection, um, a new little pedal car.
- 10:35SPEAKER_05: And it's for our grandson uh Ty Alexander Murray, the one who came in here a minute ago on his little Corvette.
- 10:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I saw him out there.
- 10:42SPEAKER_01: I took videos of that.
- 10:44SPEAKER_05: Yeah, it's really cool.
- 10:45SPEAKER_05: I know he's so cute.
- 10:47SPEAKER_05: Oh my gosh.
- 10:48SPEAKER_05: And that's kind of what um inspired.
- 10:50SPEAKER_00: And he has a grandmama that he's just beginning to know.
- 10:54SPEAKER_05: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 10:56SPEAKER_00: Because I I can only imagine in three or four years what that's gonna be like.
- 11:01SPEAKER_00: Oh my god.
- 11:02SPEAKER_05: It's gonna be great.
- 11:04SPEAKER_00: It is, yes.
- 11:05SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 11:06SPEAKER_05: Stan always says, Oh my gosh, you just look, I probably shouldn't even say this.
- 11:10SPEAKER_05: He was like, You just look so pretty when you're watching Ty.
- 11:13SPEAKER_05: Like, because you just you're glowing.
- 11:14SPEAKER_05: And I was like, Well, why can't you?
- 11:16SPEAKER_05: I mean, of course you're gonna glow, it's your grandchild, you know.
- 11:20SPEAKER_05: But yeah, he is adorable and he's now walking.
- 11:23SPEAKER_05: He's one year old, and he's driving too.
- 11:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he's driving.
- 11:27SPEAKER_05: Oh yeah, he was like laid back, yeah.
- 11:30SPEAKER_05: He was leaning, oh yeah.
- 11:32SPEAKER_05: Yeah, he was leaning with it, rocking with it.
- 11:35SPEAKER_05: But that's kind of what ex inspired me to um do a little kids' show, um, kids' car show.
- 11:41SPEAKER_05: Um well that's where you and Stanley at a kids' junior drive racing.
- 11:47SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 11:47SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 11:48SPEAKER_05: But the whole thing was um, you know, my son grew up around car car shows because Chase's other grandmother, uh Mary Murray, she used to do car shows um back in the day.
- 12:00SPEAKER_05: And so Chase was always around car shows, and so he knows how to respect a classic car.
- 12:05SPEAKER_05: And I just thought, wow, what a great way to teach kids early about taking care of their own little hot rod and respecting other people's hot rods.
- 12:14SPEAKER_05: You just don't go up and start touching them or climbing on them.
- 12:18SPEAKER_05: Um, so that's kind of what I'm gonna damn it.
- 12:21SPEAKER_05: I know you can't climb on them, you can't climb on them.
- 12:24SPEAKER_05: No touch, just look, just look.
- 12:26SPEAKER_04: Don't touch it.
- 12:26SPEAKER_05: Just like men looking at women, you can only look at the women, you can't touch.
- 12:30SPEAKER_05: Look, don't touch that one.
- 12:32SPEAKER_05: Remember that don't touch this.
- 12:35SPEAKER_05: Can't touch this.
- 12:37SPEAKER_01: We should write a song.
- 12:39SPEAKER_00: That's it.
- 12:41SPEAKER_00: You know, is anybody actually your sister?
- 12:43SPEAKER_00: Is actually listening to every word that we're saying.
- 12:46SPEAKER_05: Yeah, she is.
- 12:48SPEAKER_05: Yeah, my sister and my mom.
- 12:50SPEAKER_05: Yeah, and my brother.
- 12:52SPEAKER_00: Your mother, I'm not worried about it.
- 12:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 12:55SPEAKER_05: Yeah, they all came, and uh, my daughter-in-law Mariah, um, her family came from Bro Bridge, Louisiana, so they're all here.
- 13:04SPEAKER_05: And um, I see Kim, Kim Holt, uh Judd's wife, she's here.
- 13:08SPEAKER_05: Stan's other grandchildren, um, Ashby and Linus, I saw them here earlier.
- 13:14SPEAKER_05: So, yeah, and we're just missing Stan.
- 13:16SPEAKER_00: And you know, you can't you can't describe to somebody that doesn't really know about this thing that we all have, but once you're once you get a little sample of it, you go, and I want more of it because it's about family and friends, yeah, and cars, because we have that's it what the common denominator is the cars, yeah.
- 13:36SPEAKER_00: There's the cars, but um, it brings everybody together.
- 13:39SPEAKER_04: Yeah, there's no politics, yeah, no drama.
- 13:42SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it just yeah.
- 13:44SPEAKER_00: There is yeah, yeah, let's not even go there.
- 13:47SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but let's stop at no politics, yes.
- 13:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah, um, and it's uh it's it's really nice.
- 13:53SPEAKER_01: Oh anyway.
- 13:54SPEAKER_01: I like that Camaro that's sitting there.
- 13:56SPEAKER_01: That's nice.
- 13:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah, the white one?
- 13:57SPEAKER_01: No, the one next to it.
- 13:58SPEAKER_01: The black one or blue one?
- 14:00SPEAKER_01: Black, black, it might be blue.
- 14:02SPEAKER_00: Well, it doesn't make any difference because they're all there's there's there's also a uh Galaxy 500 over there.
- 14:07SPEAKER_00: That's awesome.
- 14:07SPEAKER_04: There's a green 69 Camaro over there, it's got 376 on the hood emblems instead of 396.
- 14:14SPEAKER_04: And I cannot find the driver to see what he's done.
- 14:17SPEAKER_00: He's taken two of them.
- 14:18SPEAKER_00: Oh, you just you just called him, so maybe he'll show up.
- 14:21SPEAKER_00: Come on out, driver.
- 14:22SPEAKER_00: Um, has Stan added any cars to the collection?
- 14:26SPEAKER_05: No, he has no room.
- 14:29SPEAKER_00: He has no room, he never has any room.
- 14:32SPEAKER_05: Well, his son Judd told him, Dad, there's no more room in my hangar for your cars.
- 14:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah, no more room.
- 14:39SPEAKER_00: We have a limiter on it now.
- 14:41SPEAKER_05: No more room.
- 14:42SPEAKER_00: So we got to sell one to get one.
- 14:43SPEAKER_05: Yes, yeah.
- 14:44SPEAKER_05: He he's trying to sell a couple of them, just uh maybe it's not the right time.
- 14:49SPEAKER_00: He doesn't want anybody to buy them, no, but he's got it for sale just as a yeah.
- 14:53SPEAKER_00: I'm I'm trying to sell it, just is not selling.
- 14:56SPEAKER_05: Well, Stan, if you lower lower the price to where it's really affordable, well, not just that realistic because he prices them in such a way that do I really want to sell?
- 15:08SPEAKER_00: I don't really want to sell it.
- 15:10SPEAKER_00: I'll tell you that I'm trying to sell it.
- 15:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah, now there's the guaranteed bank and trust right across the street.
- 15:15SPEAKER_05: That's his way of saying, Hey, I'm trying to sell it, but I still I'm gonna go ahead and buy this one just in case.
- 15:20SPEAKER_04: He's looking for that he's looking for that stupid night.
- 15:22SPEAKER_00: Let me uh let me ask you this does he still have the 55 Buick?
- 15:27SPEAKER_05: Yes, he still has it.
- 15:28SPEAKER_05: Oh god, yes, he still has that.
- 15:31SPEAKER_05: That's a fun car.
- 15:32SPEAKER_05: I love that car.
- 15:34SPEAKER_00: Did he get it to the point where you could actually turn it when you turn the steering wheel?
- 15:39SPEAKER_05: It's been a long time since we were driving that car.
- 15:42SPEAKER_00: No power steering is yeah, yeah.
- 15:44SPEAKER_00: Big heavy car.
- 15:45SPEAKER_00: Power steering is fine because it you normally you could take care of it with the big steering wheel, but uh it was really hard to drive that car back in the day uh because I was saddled with having to take it here or take it there, and it was difficult.
- 16:00SPEAKER_00: But he told me, he said, I think I fixed that.
- 16:04SPEAKER_05: Okay, no, yeah, probably not.
- 16:06SPEAKER_00: Yeah, all you can do is pump those skinny tires up to the point where you wrestle a steering wheel over here, wrestle it over here.
- 16:14SPEAKER_00: No power steering.
- 16:15SPEAKER_05: Oh my gosh, look at this little girl that just showed up.
- 16:18SPEAKER_05: Tell me, look at that.
- 16:19SPEAKER_00: She's got a little vote.
- 16:21SPEAKER_05: Well, would you look at that?
- 16:22SPEAKER_00: Would you look at that?
- 16:24SPEAKER_00: All right, well, love you.
- 16:27SPEAKER_00: Thank you so much for coming and talking to us.
- 16:29SPEAKER_00: Thank y'all appreciate you.
- 16:30SPEAKER_05: And uh we'll do this again.
- 16:32SPEAKER_05: I'm gonna try to do maybe the kids' car show twice twice a year.
- 16:36SPEAKER_05: I'd like to.
- 16:36SPEAKER_00: We need to have we need to set a date for a spring show.
- 16:39SPEAKER_05: We need to set early where the Easter bunny is gonna come.

- 19:53SPEAKER_01: You know, it's winter time, and uh I just want to make sure everybody's out there driving safe to ensure safe winter driving.
- 19:59SPEAKER_01: So Prepare your vehicle, winter tires, attain proper tire pressure, uh be cautious with your driving habits, slow down, reduce your speed, maintain control on icy or snowy roads.
- 20:10SPEAKER_01: Now we don't have a lot of that down here, but there are parts of the country that are suffering big time, you know, 25 degrees, you know, uh air temperature for weeks.

- 20:36SPEAKER_00: And today she's up to Michigan.
- 20:38SPEAKER_01: Yep, yep.
- 20:38SPEAKER_01: So emergency preparedness, take an emergency kit, blankets, food, flashlight, flares, uh, rope, shovel, chloroform, all of that.
- 20:46SPEAKER_01: Uh avoid sudden movements if you're driving.
- 20:48SPEAKER_01: Don't be, you know, uh changing lanes uh too quickly.
- 20:52SPEAKER_01: Use winter tires if you can.
- 20:54SPEAKER_01: The winter tires, you've got a little mountain with a snowflake on it, those are designated for tires.
- 20:58SPEAKER_01: What?
- 20:58SPEAKER_00: Okay, well, we'll get into that later.
- 21:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 21:00SPEAKER_01: Anyways, uh, prepare your vehicle, be safe.
- 21:03SPEAKER_01: Winter driving's coming up.
- 21:05SPEAKER_01: If you're not there already, uh you gotta be safe.
- 21:07SPEAKER_01: That's all I'm gonna tell you.
- 21:08SPEAKER_01: The life you save could be your family.
- 21:11SPEAKER_00: There you go.
- 21:12SPEAKER_00: Are you done?
- 21:13SPEAKER_00: I'm done.
- 21:13SPEAKER_01: Oh, hell yeah.
- 21:14SPEAKER_00: Back to you in the studio.
- 21:16SPEAKER_00: Well, I'm not in the studio.
- 21:17SPEAKER_00: Is it okay if I do it out here?
- 21:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah, do it from out of here.
- 21:20SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 21:21SPEAKER_00: I'm I'm right next to the men's um cantina and uh restaurant.
- 21:29SPEAKER_00: I'm going to do a review now of the 2025 IKEA EV6.
- 21:35SPEAKER_00: Are you there's nobody else listening?
- 21:37SPEAKER_00: No.
- 21:38SPEAKER_00: Are you guys listening?
- 21:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 21:39SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 21:42SPEAKER_00: IKEA EV6 was assembled in West Point, Georgia.
- 21:48SPEAKER_00: Available trim levels include the light, the light long range, wind, GT line, and GT.
- 21:57SPEAKER_00: I had the GT line long-range all-wheel drive with 20-inch wheels.
- 22:02SPEAKER_00: This is an all-electric, small SUV two-row.
- 22:06SPEAKER_00: Seats including the driver, five.
- 22:09SPEAKER_00: Exterior changes from last model year, refreshed front and rear styling this year.
- 22:14SPEAKER_00: Exterior features include radically sloped hood with a short overhang.
- 22:21SPEAKER_00: This is a very different-looking vehicle, sharp, distinctive lighting, front and rear, fast back rear design with unique rear sunshade and spoiler, extra large rear hatch door.
- 22:35SPEAKER_00: What I liked this, in my opinion, is one of the sharpest-looking EVs in the market today.
- 22:42SPEAKER_00: And it's in the SUV form.
- 22:44SPEAKER_00: What could use improvement?
- 22:46SPEAKER_00: I put a big question mark right where I put that question.
- 22:50SPEAKER_00: Okay, I don't know.
- 22:51SPEAKER_00: I think it fits a lot of categories.
- 22:55SPEAKER_00: Interior highlights, sweeping combination display that stretches almost door to door.
- 23:02SPEAKER_00: Attractive, unique center console with a flat phone charger.
- 23:07SPEAKER_00: I really liked it.
- 23:08SPEAKER_00: It sits right there beside you and it's flat, and you can look down there and go, Who's bothering me right now?
- 23:14SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 23:14SPEAKER_00: Attractive, unique center console, comfortable seating with attractive materials, steering wheel controls are easy to understand and use.
- 23:26SPEAKER_00: You're thinking, well, now why did he say that?
- 23:28SPEAKER_00: Is he just trying to fill time?
- 23:29SPEAKER_00: No, because I drive a new different car every week.
- 23:34SPEAKER_00: And let me tell you something.
- 23:35SPEAKER_00: Everybody tries to reinvent the wheel, and there's no reason for that.
- 23:40SPEAKER_00: I see slight adjustments, and you know, we're gonna do this over here and do that.
- 23:46SPEAKER_00: But why change the whole thing?
- 23:48SPEAKER_00: Last week I drove a vehicle that had steering wheel controls that weren't really controls, they were pads to fill in all the blanks.
- 24:00SPEAKER_00: No, no, no, no, no.
- 24:01SPEAKER_00: You fill in the blanks, I'll tell you whether or not I like it.
- 24:06SPEAKER_00: Cargo, trunk room, small, what I liked.
- 24:09SPEAKER_00: The clamshell hatch that keeps cargo limited to accommodate taller items, but it works for this vehicle.
- 24:19SPEAKER_00: What could use improvement?
- 24:21SPEAKER_00: Nothing.
- 24:22SPEAKER_00: It's an electric motor with 225 horsepower and 258 pound feet of torque with a direct drive automatic transmission.
- 24:30SPEAKER_00: There's no transmission.
- 24:31SPEAKER_00: There's direct drive electric motors.
- 24:33SPEAKER_00: Toe rating 2700 pounds, which kind of surprised me.
- 24:37SPEAKER_00: Well, you know, it's it's not gonna overkill or anything, but 2700 pounds, that's a percentage.
- 24:47SPEAKER_00: Pardon me just a minute.
- 24:50SPEAKER_00: Hello?
- 24:54SPEAKER_00: No, no, no, don't pause it.
- 24:56SPEAKER_00: No, don't pause, don't pause it, Mars.
- 24:58SPEAKER_00: Okay, it's going.
- 24:58SPEAKER_00: It's rolling.
- 25:00SPEAKER_04: It's rolling.
- 25:02SPEAKER_00: Yes, we're on the air.
- 25:03SPEAKER_00: You can listen and hear us on the air.
- 25:06SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 25:07SPEAKER_00: Love you and talk to you soon.
- 25:09SPEAKER_00: Bye.
- 25:10SPEAKER_01: That was the stock broker he's talking to.
- 25:13SPEAKER_04: On a Saturday, yeah, right.
- 25:15SPEAKER_00: Actually, it was the parole department, and uh they were checking to see my location.
- 25:22SPEAKER_00: Your ankle monitor fell off.
- 25:24SPEAKER_00: Manufacturers miles per gallon E-rating is 128 city, 101 highway for a range of 318 miles.
- 25:33SPEAKER_00: And from what I could gather, without trying to do the math and overcomplicate things, it probably gets about, in realistic terms, about 275 miles in a regular everyday drive.
- 25:47SPEAKER_00: I drove it for 502 miles.
- 25:50SPEAKER_00: What I liked about it was the power.
- 25:51SPEAKER_00: What could use improvement?
- 25:53SPEAKER_00: More range, and finding a damn Tesla charger.
- 25:56SPEAKER_00: Did I say that?
- 25:57SPEAKER_00: I'm sorry.
- 25:58SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 25:58SPEAKER_00: Uh what riding handling?
- 26:00SPEAKER_00: Smooth.
- 26:01SPEAKER_00: Although it is heavy, it doesn't feel heavy.
- 26:03SPEAKER_00: It's 4,502, uh, 45, 4,520 pounds.
- 26:09SPEAKER_00: It's heavy.
- 26:10SPEAKER_00: It is heavy.
- 26:10SPEAKER_00: It's big.
- 26:11SPEAKER_00: Base trim price 58.9.
- 26:13SPEAKER_00: Prices tested 6740.
- 26:16SPEAKER_00: Base model price 42.9.
- 26:18SPEAKER_00: Competitors, Hyundai Ionic 5 for 35,000.
- 26:23SPEAKER_00: Chevy Equinox EV for 35.1.
- 26:26SPEAKER_00: And the Nissan Area for 39.7.
- 26:29SPEAKER_00: Next week, the Ford Expedition.
- 26:32SPEAKER_00: If the area is not being produced anymore.
- 26:34SPEAKER_00: Well, it's not going to be produced anymore.
- 26:36SPEAKER_00: Yes, that's correct.
- 26:37SPEAKER_00: EVs are out.
- 26:40SPEAKER_00: Gasoline hot rods are in.
- 26:42SPEAKER_00: Well, hybrids are the thing.
- 26:44SPEAKER_00: And I can't encourage you enough to look at the hybrids because I think that you're going to be very impressed because it gets gas mileage and power all at the same time under one roof.
- 26:57SPEAKER_00: Under one roof.
- 26:59SPEAKER_04: Well, and range anxiety shouldn't be an issue with a hybrid either.
- 27:03SPEAKER_00: And neither should find a damn plug-in charger.
- 27:06SPEAKER_00: That's true.
- 27:06SPEAKER_00: And don't get me started on get them started.
- 27:09SPEAKER_00: Well, go ahead and get me started.
- 27:11SPEAKER_00: Because I could go the next hour and a half and tell you about EVs.
- 27:14SPEAKER_00: Mars, have you had any of those?
- 27:16SPEAKER_00: EVs?
- 27:17SPEAKER_00: Uh-huh.
- 27:18SPEAKER_00: Well, you know what?
