- 0:00This is The Gunter Failing, a podcast.
- 0:02We are developing very well the voice of the free world.
- 0:05Here we are broadcasting world right now on Riverside.
- 0:09It's a new voice and we are quite fine.
- 0:11And I'm actually very happy because this recent weeks we
- 0:15have developed to 137,000 followers on X and also we have
- 0:2016,000 on YouTube and we are getting more and more
- 0:23professional. In our podcast, we had 50 series
- 0:27now published, 50 pods were dropping in the last three
- 0:31months. And one of the personalities
- 0:34which is often commenting on my feet is actually Chief Bariha.
- 0:39And I'm very honoured that you are here now with us.
- 0:42We are arranged on the Saturday evening to have a debate.
- 0:45And I'm very happy that you choose to take time to from
- 0:49America to discuss with the voice of the free world with
- 0:53Gunter Failing, I hear from Vienna.
- 0:54You're very welcome. We want to know everything about
- 0:57your Chief and please present yourself and thanks a lot for
- 1:01taking time. Thank you so much Gunther,
- 1:03although I think this will be more of a discussion than a
- 1:05debate, as I feel we agree on most things.
- 1:08That's good, that's good. But I.
- 1:10Appreciate as. Well, but tell us first where
- 1:13you're based and what's your profession, what's your
- 1:16background, what's your policy direction, and we will debate,
- 1:20discuss and entertain our audience.
- 1:25Thank you. My name is Chief Parihar as
- 1:27Gunther, so kindly said in his introduction.
- 1:29For me, I am primarily A journalist.
- 1:32I have written for the National Review, the Washington Free
- 1:36Beacon, the American Spectator. One of my favorite places right
- 1:39for is also for the more niche foreign policy magazine called
- 1:42Providence. And then I did an interview with
- 1:46Bill Kristol where he sort of made a surprise endorsement for
- 1:50Zoran Mandani, which with I do not agree last fall, which was
- 1:54cited in the New York Times, Politico, Newsweek and the New
- 1:58Republic, other much more major outlets, which was an honor.
- 2:02In addition to that, I do research.
- 2:03I mean, I'm sort of a student as well.
- 2:06And so I've been working, of course, to organize on behalf of
- 2:10the West. I believe very deeply in both as
- 2:13a civilization, as a culture, and of course as a set of values
- 2:17for liberty which have allowed our nations to prosper more than
- 2:20any other the world has ever known.
- 2:23I come from a pretty working class background and so I try to
- 2:26speak to normal people. I think it's sort of an issue
- 2:28that many people who have many good ideas sort of end up
- 2:32finding themselves in echo chambers, either in Washington,
- 2:34DC, in some very brilliant think tanks that I very much admire,
- 2:38or in some very brilliant academic circles that I very
- 2:41much admire. But not speaking very much to
- 2:43the average person who I think unfortunately, particularly in
- 2:46the United States, I think in Europe as well, has lost their
- 2:50sense of the greatness of Western civilization.
- 2:53And I mean of liberalism in the classical sense of our values,
- 2:59the tolerance for others. I mean, of course, also for, you
- 3:03know, family rented values, for Christianity, all of these
- 3:07things. And so I would say that my goal
- 3:10is, of course, to get this flame burning again in the hearts of
- 3:15the West, to say that we should be willing to stand up for
- 3:18ourselves and to fight for our, for Western values, for
- 3:20liberalism, for Western civilization, both defensively
- 3:24as in Ukraine and against enemies abroad such as in, I
- 3:28mean, Iran or Syria. Very good.
- 3:31So we agree on many things. I'm very happy to discuss with
- 3:34you chief. That's good.
- 3:37Explain us more about yourself. You have some bi ethnical
- 3:41background. You have some.
- 3:43Where's your roots? If I can ask this in this
- 3:45question, that's. Very funny if you had.
- 3:48Asked I'm Austrian. Just to explain, I'm Austrian,
- 3:51so yes of. Course, I mean, I'm American.
- 3:52I think I'm entirely, I'm a culturally American.
- 3:54I think very frankly, I should joke I'm, I'm more culturally a
- 3:58WASP than people I know, even if I'm not sort of like Anglo-Saxon
- 4:02Protestant very culturally. But I mean, my mother is, is
- 4:04Indian. So I do have sort of ethnic
- 4:06background. I think I'm very much sort of
- 4:09pro assimilation when it comes to immigration question.
- 4:11I think we have a very big issue with sort of immigration in the
- 4:14West where people have not come to the values of the country.
- 4:18I don't like Michelle Weller back on many things, but I have
- 4:21his book submission here. I think he is sometimes very
- 4:24his. His writing is, he's very
- 4:26French. I I find the French to be a bit
- 4:28more explicit in their morality than I think I care for, but I
- 4:34do find it politically. Chief, tell me politically you
- 4:37stand closer to the Democrats or to the Republicans.
- 4:41I would say I'm closer to the Republicans in a sense, but
- 4:45certainly I, I mean, I would say George W Bush was probably the
- 4:48best president in modern. America, this is very good.
- 4:52Yeah, 10. Points very much so.
- 4:54I mean, I actually live with that action of the Republicans
- 4:57in Europe. I would say I fit very well as,
- 5:00you know, a Christian Democrat in the tradition of Conrad
- 5:02Adenauer or Luigi Sturzo, someone like that.
- 5:06Very good. And now what do you stand to
- 5:09Trump? Because we have some issues with
- 5:11Mr. Trump. He wants to take our Greenland.
- 5:13Listen for you. I find I find him less than
- 5:16ideal. I, I find I think this is his
- 5:18election was very predictable. I think the as I said at the
- 5:22time, I don't know really if Trump deserves to win.
- 5:25I think the Democrats probably deserved to lose after sort of
- 5:28the, the cover up of much of Biden's senility after I, I was,
- 5:33I was very unhappy with the, but the Democrats policy towards
- 5:35Ukraine as much as Trump's insofar as I felt that we had
- 5:38them on sort of a starvation diet.
- 5:40That is the, the phrase that Gerald Ford in his book, our
- 5:43former American president used to describe the approach that
- 5:46Congress forced on South Vietnam, which is where we were
- 5:50giving just enough aid to Ukraine to stop them from being
- 5:53completely conquered by sort of the barbarian invasion from
- 5:56Russia. But we were not giving them
- 5:58enough aid to win. So we were giving them enough
- 6:00aid to always be on the defensive, but not enough to go
- 6:03in the offensive to retake their territory in the Donbass, even
- 6:06Crimea. And so I, I think consistently
- 6:09the Biden administration didn't win at times when it could have.
- 6:13I mean, they spent several billion dollars on green energy,
- 6:17for instance, and they were not able to build more than, you
- 6:21know, a couple dozen, I think at most of these electric car
- 6:23chargers with federal funds, which was, I think a great
- 6:25failure. And, and so I think that the
- 6:28election of Trump is very much a reaction to a legitimate feeling
- 6:30of discontent in the American populace.
- 6:34But I mean, of course, he's he's taken a Wrecking Ball to many
- 6:37things. He's been quite a mess.
- 6:39And I, I don't know, I would not say approve of him.
- 6:41This NATO situation has been quite a travesty.
- 6:44I was disappointed. And even in the last couple days
- 6:46in American media, we have not reported on a comment that Trump
- 6:50made recently where he said that, you know, NATO soldiers
- 6:54did. We're not on the front lines in
- 6:55Europe. And even Nigel Farage I saw this
- 6:58morning and as you know, Nigel Farage, I disagree with him on
- 7:01Brexit. I think the I very much support
- 7:03the European Union, but Nigel Farage has been very close to
- 7:06Trump, even though, I mean, I'm on the right side.
- 7:08I don't mind if there's frauds per SE.
- 7:09And I generally I'm going to put him aside from Brexit.
- 7:11But he in this specific case, I was surprised to see that he was
- 7:14very forceful in denouncing Trump.
- 7:16Nigel Farage was even, I don't like Marine Le Pen really at
- 7:19all, but she was also very forceful in announcing Trump.
- 7:23All of these politicians in Europe who are very much usually
- 7:26aligned with Trump have denounced him now, even on
- 7:28Greenland, because he's gone so far.
- 7:30And it is really a travesty to have him, I think, denounce the
- 7:35the soldiers of NATO who died for us.
- 7:36I mean, there were 20,000 mothers in Denmark who in the
- 7:40last 25 years saw their sons and told them goodbye because they
- 7:44were going to go to Afghanistan, because an attack was made in
- 7:47Western civilization in New York City, which I was just in last
- 7:51week. You're always great.
- 7:55In Europe, we love you and we want to stay united, but
- 7:59unfortunately, Schiff, you're a little bit the minority in
- 8:01America now because you're pro European, even pro EU.
- 8:06Are you somehow very lonely in Washington, DC these days?
- 8:11Yes, certainly, especially on the American right.
- 8:13And I think people in American right don't understand Europe,
- 8:15unfortunately, in many ways, I, I, I'm a great admirer, as I've
- 8:18said, of the European Christian democratic tradition of Abraham
- 8:21Kuiper, Connor Adenauer. And I think people don't
- 8:23understand that in the post war era, the European Union was a
- 8:27Christian democratic project. It was not the project of the
- 8:30socialist parties. They, you know, are more
- 8:31provincial, more anti capitalist.
- 8:33Absolutely. Thank you very much.
- 8:36You must be running for Congress, I think, Chief.
- 8:40Well, not any time soon. Certainly I, it's not my
- 8:42interest for president, but I have, I've really tried to rally
- 8:45people in support of the, of NATO, of the European Union.
- 8:49I will say I think I love the Europeans.
- 8:51You have a more bureaucratic sort of approach to things.
- 8:54And the Americans are more, more, you know, we're sort of
- 8:56Cowboys. We go and we do things.
- 8:58We see the frontier. Because I've tried to reach out
- 9:00to sort of the Youth Atlantic Treaty Association in Europe and
- 9:06in Denmark and in Brussels. And I've said we need a branch
- 9:10of this organization to rally younger people in America who do
- 9:13not have, unfortunately, quite. As much president of that
- 9:16branch. I would love to, yes.
- 9:18Yes, young people in America don't have the post war
- 9:21consciousness unfortunately. They just don't remember the
- 9:24fact that communism and fascism are such fundamental threats to
- 9:27the Western way of life or values, to the Christianity, to
- 9:30all of these things. Unfortunately, they sort of said
- 9:33they have to get all the approvals from all the
- 9:34bureaucracies and whatnot and I would like to just go.
- 9:37To JD Vance, JD Vance is somehow he, I think he in his redneck
- 9:42time, he missed high school too much and he didn't learn about
- 9:46history. And now he's unfortunately the
- 9:48vice president and close to be the next president, and he
- 9:51seemingly hates us in Europe. It's important.
- 9:55I would actually one thing I would correct you, though, it's
- 9:56actually the people that did events who went to Yale Law
- 9:59School that are much of the problem.
- 10:00It's not the He should, he should.
- 10:03Know the history, probably in the.
- 10:07The average American who is, you know, not a educated history, I
- 10:11think does sympathize with Europe.
- 10:12I think some of the problem is we have a political class.
- 10:15It's the people educated at Yale and Harvard, I think that are
- 10:18increasingly becoming a kind of crazy in their politics.
- 10:22Whereas there's the average hard working normal American, the
- 10:24person that, you know, you might call it redneck or whatever.
- 10:26And I think that's not a bad thing at all.
- 10:28Is actually they, they feel Russian civilization more than
- 10:30many people in the, in the elite.
- 10:32Because for all the things JD Vance denounces, he is all those
- 10:34things in many ways, unfortunately.
- 10:36And I was very disappointed to see the way JD Vance's career
- 10:39has gone. I, you know, a year ago I was,
- 10:42you know, I disagreed. I think he was too isolationist.
- 10:45But he's, you know, he's Catholic.
- 10:47He's, he's good and he has a good family and all these
- 10:49things. And I was hopeful, but his
- 10:51confrontation with Zelensky was sort of an embarrassment, I
- 10:54think very much for us. And.
- 10:56It seems really bad. I mean, there's Zelensky.
- 10:59You can like him or not, but he is the president of a country
- 11:02which is attacked from a genocidal maniac.
- 11:04And there are a lot of heroes in Ukraine.
- 11:07And you should show respect as a patriot, as a conservative.
- 11:10Yeah, he show respect to heroes who are fighting for the nation.
- 11:14And JD wins was insulting him. We won't forget that for JD
- 11:19Wins, yes. Absolutely.
- 11:22And I think that he really misunderstands the conflict in
- 11:25Ukraine, right. I mean, Ukraine is, you know, I
- 11:27have Samuel Huntington's book The Clash of Civilizations right
- 11:29here. It's the.
- 11:30Borderline and the buys. I didn't like him anymore.
- 11:35Oh, you didn't talk Well, but he gets many things right.
- 11:37I mean, in some ways, you know, 1 is that Ukraine is the
- 11:39borderline of civilizations between the West and if for the
- 11:44Russian world, I mean, historically it was, you know,
- 11:46under Austria more, more Catholic.
- 11:48And then that's, you know, some of the the persons as well we
- 11:51accept. That we have not forgotten 50%
- 11:54of Ukraine was Austrian and Putin was even talking about it
- 11:57in his infamous very bad interview with Tucker Carlson.
- 12:01Putin was accusing the Austrians for messing up the Ukraine.
- 12:07I think you govern very well, yes, you Austrians I have much
- 12:09respect for, for Austria, for the absters.
- 12:11I was just thinking about that this morning.
- 12:13You are very welcome to visit Vienna.
- 12:15I give you a guided tour through the Habsburg heritage of the
- 12:18city chief here. You're always very well covered
- 12:21that. But we are now Republic and we
- 12:23are unfortunately neutral because the Soviet Union
- 12:26insisted us to stay neutral in order to leave the troops in 55.
- 12:32And that's something very negative in this country.
- 12:35And I think you follow me on Twitter, you'll find out that
- 12:38I'm very anti neutrality. It's an as we know, neutrality
- 12:42in Austria has not worked. I mean, go back to the 1930s.
- 12:47You know, Britain and France at that time where were not
- 12:50cognizant of the threat that Hitler represented.
- 12:53And they insisted that, you know, von Schmushnig and
- 12:55Engelberg Dolfus who wanted to be very anti Nazi.
- 12:58They insisted that they be more neutral.
- 13:00And what did that give us? It gave us the Angelus would
- 13:02give us the, the, you know, great civilizational tragedy
- 13:05that was the Second World War. And so I think historically,
- 13:09when Austria has been allowed to pursue its own foreign policy,
- 13:11it's done the right thing. I mean, of course, the Speaking
- 13:14of civilizations, Vienna. That we know that we have really
- 13:18done the right thing since 55, but nevertheless we joined the
- 13:21European Union at least, yeah. I mean, that's actually 55, yes.
- 13:25If The thing is, I may have created the NGO in Austria, it's
- 13:29called the NATO Enlargement Committee, Austrian Committee
- 13:31for NATO Enlargement, for Ukraine, for Kosovo, for Bosnia,
- 13:35all the countries the Americans have liberated.
- 13:37Thankfully, I always say thank you very much for liberating
- 13:40Austria from the Nazis. Thank you very much for
- 13:43liberating Kosovo from Milosevic.
- 13:46And hopefully in the future, I will say thank you very much for
- 13:49liberating Ukraine from and the Putin evil empire.
- 13:54And that will be something I will say very loud.
- 13:56But in this committee, I need an American partner who is very
- 13:59interested. And here's your chance, chief,
- 14:02on live television. I ask you, do you want to join
- 14:05this organization and do you want to fight for NATO
- 14:08enlargement together with me? Yes, I do Gunther, you have my
- 14:12support. OK, thanks a lot.
- 14:14We will discuss. Yeah, because this now
- 14:16operational support, we can really do.
- 14:19The Youth Atlantic Council is a bit slow, but the NATO
- 14:22Enlargement Committee of Vienna is very active here in all
- 14:25social medias and we are growing.
- 14:27We are active actually on all fronts.
- 14:30And for us it's very important to have a friend in America.
- 14:33And if you want to be our friendship, you are welcome.
- 14:39Because I wouldn't, I would like to keep.
- 14:41Organizing this way that shock ship.
- 14:43Is still. Thinking what exactly is coming
- 14:45this way now we are peaceful people, don't be afraid.
- 14:49But we can really work together to change American public
- 14:52opinion because we in Europe, we need you.
- 14:55And by the way, you need us as well.
- 14:56Because if you go militarily now against Iran and you kick the
- 15:00ass of the IR dollars and there will be the question where will
- 15:03the European public stand on that one?
- 15:06And I want to be very, very active since weeks, I'm already
- 15:09on that one that we stand with America when you move militarily
- 15:14against the IR dollars, We must mobilize the European public
- 15:18opinion in favour of regime change.
- 15:20And that's what we are trying to do.
- 15:23Yes, I think it's absolutely my, you know, actually last summer I
- 15:29was working as a journalist and that was when the war broke out
- 15:33and between Iran and Israel. And I know some contacts on the
- 15:37ground in the Iranian opposition.
- 15:40And I know people here who work for Reza Pahlavi.
- 15:44And so I'm very, very in support of the return of the Shah to
- 15:48Iran. But it's actually been quite
- 15:50saddening for me lately because as I said, as a journalist, I
- 15:52had contacts on the ground in the Iranian opposition who were
- 15:55in the streets protesting and they lost all contact with them.
- 15:58And I haven't been able to get in contact with them since.
- 16:00For all I know, my, my friends in Iran could be, you know,
- 16:03murdered now. And it was really such a
- 16:06travesty. I, you know, I hope something is
- 16:08done by the administration. But the fact that the president
- 16:11tweeted or true socialed help is on the way and then, you know,
- 16:15however many thousands of people were killed in the street is,
- 16:19you know, anything really quite a problem. 40,000 people are
- 16:23dead in the. Yes, I've heard, I've heard, you
- 16:25know, I've heard twelve, I've heard 40 / 80.
- 16:26I've heard all, really all numbers.
- 16:33But Chief, you have two aircraft carriers now up in the line and
- 16:38there's this major effort, I think it's one in the Red Sea
- 16:42and 1 is in the in the Arabian Sea or in the close to Rana.
- 16:49So they're in striking distance. And actually many of the people
- 16:53I know, and they are very much optimistic that the strike will
- 16:56come now and that liberation will be starting.
- 16:59And the people of Iran are waiting for the signal because
- 17:02they are ready to rise from the Kurds to the Baluch, to the
- 17:06Aziris and the Persians themselves and the middle class
- 17:09of Tehran, they're all waiting for the first Tomahawks to enter
- 17:14the airspace. So what is your guess?
- 17:17Will it come or will it? Won't it come?
- 17:19Nobody knows exactly. Well, I'll confess you, Gunther.
- 17:24I'm inclined to be a pessimist because I would rather be.
- 17:27I would rather be pleasantly surprised than be let down.
- 17:30So right now I'm fearful that it won't come, but I'm hopeful that
- 17:34it might. I think certainly it seems by
- 17:36all on the occasion that our assets are getting put into
- 17:38place. I think unfortunately, the
- 17:40leadership, both Netanyahu and Tel Aviv, but also the United
- 17:44Arab Emirates, Mohammed bin Salman and Saudi Arabia seem to
- 17:48all agree that they don't want a strike to happen because they
- 17:52sort of like the situation as it is, unfortunately.
- 17:54But I think the United States should stand for the West, not
- 17:56for what you're necessarily Bibi Netanyahu or Mohammed bin Salman
- 18:00wants, and for the freedom of the people of Iran.
- 18:03And I think that means, I mean, of course, that means some sort
- 18:06of air, air, naval capability. I think ideally, you know, we
- 18:10forget off in America that the original foundation of our Green
- 18:13Berets, our Special forces, was meant to go to countries like
- 18:17Iran and other authoritarian regimes and to connect with the
- 18:20opposition on the ground and to arm them and to train them so
- 18:23they could more efficiently resist tyranny.
- 18:25And so that would be, I think, a very proper role for our special
- 18:28forces to do. Of course, perhaps as we did
- 18:31with Nicolas Maduro, who oppressed Venezuela for so long,
- 18:35we will go and give perhaps a a surprise travel opportunity to
- 18:41Ayatollah Khomeini, and maybe he'll end up in Rikers Island in
- 18:44New York. You like the operation of Maduro
- 18:49capture? Yes, I, I think it was, I, I, I
- 18:53think it's unfortunate that we didn't fully change the regime
- 18:55and, you know, kick out all of the communists.
- 18:58But of course it was good that we got him out.
- 19:00Particularly important I think here is that the regime in Cuba,
- 19:04Miguel Diaz Canal, the, the Communist Party there was kept
- 19:08in power because of the oil and the money coming from Venezuela.
- 19:11And now that we have cut off that lifeline to Cuba, it is
- 19:14more likely that the communists will be defeated in Cuba and
- 19:17that, you know, we may fully defeat them in Venezuela.
- 19:19I've been very happy with Marco Rubio so far.
- 19:22I think there are things that he has not been able to stop that I
- 19:25think some of the the other voices in this administration,
- 19:27they don't like as much Mr. Bainbridge Colby, for instance,
- 19:30have tried to do. But Marco Rubio has been very
- 19:33consistently a voice for sanity and and a voice for liberty and
- 19:38if the people of Iran. It will be the candidate for the
- 19:42GOP Republican candidate in 2028.
- 19:47As I told you, Gunther, I'm a pessimist.
- 19:49I don't think so. And here's why I don't think so.
- 19:51There's a think tank which I quite like called American
- 19:53Compass and JD Vance. They're mostly domestic policy
- 19:57focus, but JD Vance is an associate and Marco Rubio is an
- 20:00associate because of course they agree on domestic issues for the
- 20:03most part. And I think through that and
- 20:05other things, they have a good relationship.
- 20:07And because Vance's vice president, my inclination that
- 20:10he would run and Rubio would not be inclined to challenge him.
- 20:14And I will say it's going to be a very difficult few terms for
- 20:17American presidents. If China invades Taiwan, it will
- 20:20happen in the next 10 years. They are having a demographic
- 20:22collapse and they can't do it when, you know, their economy is
- 20:25collapsing. This they just don't have
- 20:26children. And of course, our Social
- 20:30Security system, which George W Bush, to his credit, was the
- 20:33only president who has really tried to reform.
- 20:35But unfortunately it was blocked, you know, by the
- 20:37Democrats and what not. It was projected to go
- 20:39insolvent. And so I think there will be a
- 20:41great, you know, economic issue in the United States in about 10
- 20:44years. And so I, you know, we will need
- 20:47strong leadership to deal with both of those questions.
- 20:50And of course, with birth rates as a whole.
- 20:51I'm sure you're seeing this in Europe.
- 20:53It is unfortunate in the West, I think perhaps because we have
- 20:55lost much of our public religious culture above the
- 20:59Catholic and Protestants and what not, or even, you know,
- 21:03Jewish and the other religious groups we've had unfortunately
- 21:06have become so secularized that people don't have kids anymore.
- 21:09And there are many, many reasons for this, but I think it's
- 21:12imperative that we've been sure we, you know, we have this as a
- 21:14society get back to having children.
- 21:16And I think we would have more children if our people believed
- 21:18in society. They believed the West was
- 21:19amazing. And so we want to bring people
- 21:22into the West to keep building the West.
- 21:25JD Vance is expecting his fourth child.
- 21:28I was reading and congratulating him, yes.
- 21:32Yes. I'm also expecting a baby in
- 21:36April. Lucky me and Chief.
- 21:40Have you already children? I mean, I'm a few years down.
- 21:44That would be a few years down the road for me.
- 21:46But you know, I'd hope to I. Think in our in our ideological
- 21:50movement, we are calling making babies one of our things which
- 21:54we have a slogan here. And if you follow my fire rice
- 21:57activities, I declared it in the live sessions.
- 22:00Making babies is the obligation of all good patriots.
- 22:04So, Chief, yes, yes. Before too long.
- 22:11On a more serious basis, shift, you know, I was 2 days ago in
- 22:14national TV here in Austria and I have said that America is a
- 22:18country superpower with clear strategic interests and is
- 22:23absolutely able to pursue a global strategic agenda of
- 22:28victory. And then many people have
- 22:31criticized me. They have called Trump is a
- 22:34fool, he doesn't know what to do.
- 22:35And I said no, Trump is the representative of the American
- 22:39superpower. And America has now regime
- 22:42changed. Maduro is going to militarize
- 22:46Greenland in order to protect America is going to regime
- 22:50change Iran, our enemy, and then ultimately will help us to
- 22:54liberate Crimea and Ukraine and Russia will be defeated.
- 22:59The axis of evil, which Russia built in the last 15 years of
- 23:02American weakness will be dismantled and defeated, and
- 23:06China will be contained. And if it's aggressive, it will
- 23:09be defeated as well, because that's the strategic interest of
- 23:13the American superpower. And then everybody started a
- 23:16little bit to say, Gunther, are you delusional?
- 23:19Trump is a fool and he's senile. And so where do you stand on
- 23:24this debate? Is America the big superpower
- 23:27and Trump just confused but still the representative of the
- 23:31one big superpower of the world? Or are we going to lose and the
- 23:35Russian Chinese world order will prevail?
- 23:40Well, I think it will really depend on the spirit of our
- 23:43people. I think.
- 23:44I think it will really matter if we want to win, right?
- 23:46Because I my great fear, I think militarily we can win.
- 23:49We can be the superpower. We can continue this great, you
- 23:52know, Western LED world order. We've out for so many hundreds
- 23:54of years now. I think what is unfortunate is
- 23:57that I fear that if China tried to, you know, conquer the
- 24:01Taiwanese and subjugate them, I fear that we would have within
- 24:0524 hours Tucker Carlson talking about how Xi Jinping is, you
- 24:09know, the second coming or something.
- 24:10And it is really just such a, you know, a travesty.
- 24:12And we need to be what we need to have people who are more
- 24:16commutative than, you know, national media and other places
- 24:19in politics to say that the West is worth fighting for, that
- 24:22American values, that the post war order, it is all we're
- 24:26fighting for. And so and I, I think it's been
- 24:29quite a travesty 2020 years ago, this third world, this ideology,
- 24:33this idea that the West is bad, that, you know, Christianity is
- 24:36bad, that the EU is bad, that America's bad.
- 24:39It was very common on the American left in the people that
- 24:41hated George Bush. Of course I love George Bush,
- 24:44but now? Yeah, that's really bad.
- 24:53You know what is exactly wrong with Tucker carts?
- 24:56And I mean, he seems to be completely in the Putin world.
- 25:02Yes, I, you know, I, I think I'm not entirely sure you can go
- 25:06back. You see his text messages from
- 25:08when he was, you know, in college.
- 25:10And there's some very funny things.
- 25:11There is his father tells him that he doesn't think he can get
- 25:14any other job and so he must go into journalism.
- 25:18And, you know, Tucker Carlson, you know, I, I, I will say one
- 25:23thing about Doug Carlson. I, I think Tucker Carlson is
- 25:26particularly reprehensible and, and you know, I, I don't mean to
- 25:29be too impolite. I try to think politeness is
- 25:32important, but I think he is quite bad in particularly
- 25:34because. So let me ask you as well,
- 25:46Chief, Chief, about this kind of Florida festival of this
- 25:54influencers, because what we have seen next to Tucker Carson
- 25:58is that this Fuentes and other influencers, they had some
- 26:02festival in Florida. This was like a gigantic
- 26:05gangbang of whatever kind of influencers they are and they
- 26:09had celebrated their friendship. This is some people who are
- 26:14basically under suspicion of being women's traffickers like
- 26:20the Tate family. They are insulting Romania, a
- 26:24strong NATO ally and Fuentes is clearly anti-Semitic and quite
- 26:29outrageous so and they have celebrated themselves.
- 26:32They're like they would be the new superstar and it was
- 26:36supposedly they are conservative.
- 26:38So they are they are. What exactly are this group of
- 26:42super influencers who seemingly poisoned the mind of the young
- 26:47people on the American right and spreads his confused ideas?
- 26:51What is your read on that? I think it is vile, but I think
- 26:56it is the predictable result of the civilization decline we've
- 26:59had, that we have these bad people come up.
- 27:01I mean, think about it for a few.
- 27:02I think a Catholic, I'm a Protestant, but Christianity has
- 27:05so long been the pillar of the West.
- 27:06Immorality, you know, that is the, you know, the Beethoven
- 27:11song, the motto, the song, the EU has, you know, also the
- 27:14English lyrics, you know, you know, teachers, how to love each
- 27:17other, all of these things. I mean, that is really the
- 27:18growth of the West. And once you take that away, you
- 27:21have people going to these other things that do not promote
- 27:23universal love or universal brotherhood or any of these
- 27:26ideologies. And so you have people like like
- 27:29Fuentes, of course, he wears the aesthetic, he sort of wears
- 27:32Christianity like a skin suit, you know, but he isn't, he
- 27:36doesn't actually, you know, have any of those values.
- 27:39And you can see that because, you know, Andrew Tate, I mean,
- 27:40he hates Christianity, he hates the West.
- 27:43He is a he's a Muslim. No, not anything.
- 27:45There are there are good Muslims.
- 27:46I like Albania, I like, you know, Kosovo and other people.
- 27:49I think there are good people who are Muslim, but I'm.
- 27:51One of them really very sympathetic.
- 27:53I like you, Yes, you're a good guy.
- 27:55Thank you, thank you. But but, and of course I
- 27:58entertain just anti Christianity.
- 28:00He left. He left because he thought it
- 28:01was a weak religion. There's the same calculus, of
- 28:03course the Nazis had they were all pagans.
- 28:05They, they thought that, you know, the Christian faith would
- 28:08be destroyed. Hitler wrote that he thought it
- 28:11was a great tragedy that was Charles Martel had defeated the
- 28:16caliphate in France. Hitler thought that it would
- 28:18have been great if the Muslims had taken over.
- 28:20And now Europe could be, you know, whites and Muslim.
- 28:23And so they, they don't have to worry about loving other people
- 28:25like Christianity does. So I think we, we've taken away
- 28:27that core you get all you get even this this very tragedy.
- 28:30We've seen more political violence in America.
- 28:33You saw that the murder of Charlie Kirk and all the other
- 28:36people that were turning that on.
- 28:37Of course, people, people murder others and whatnot.
- 28:39When you take away the core of universal love in in politics.
- 28:41And so that was is what's happened.
- 28:44And I think, you know, I think he had many things wrong.
- 28:47But that old sort of German guy, Oswald Spengler, one thing he
- 28:51was right about is that the West, you know, if I think he
- 28:54was wrong, that it was inevitable, but I think he was
- 28:56right that the West would would decline in these sort of
- 28:57spiritual ways. And that as a result of this
- 29:02decline, you would have people who would come up and there
- 29:04would be like Caesar and, you know, they would say, let's get
- 29:06rid of all the values that made us great.
- 29:08And let's just be a, you know, authoritarian and let's do all
- 29:11of these authoritarian things. And so I think that was very
- 29:15prescient. We have to be able to confront
- 29:18these ideologies head on. We have to be willing to, you
- 29:21know, sort of look all these unfortunate people that are
- 29:23supporting the cuentas in the eye and say that they are
- 29:26actually not standing for the West and we have to reinvigorate
- 29:29a love for the values that have. I agree, Chief, I agree.
- 29:40I have one question, you know, because I follow now Nicholas
- 29:45Fuentes as well and he has no less.
- 29:48I show his profile here, 1,000,000, 200,000 followers.
- 29:53Yeah. Nicholas Fuentes.
- 29:55Yeah. And then he is completely
- 29:58confused. What he post is completely
- 30:00outraged and, you know, completely nonsensical.
- 30:03His nightclub life and all his political positions, You cannot
- 30:07call that conservative. There's nothing conservative.
- 30:10There's nothing reasonable in that.
- 30:13There's nothing you can learn from him.
- 30:16And then I do. And he has 1.2 million follower.
- 30:21And I have your account here. You are conservative, you are a
- 30:25very smart man. You have written many articles.
- 30:28You are journalists and you have 185 followers.
- 30:31Yeah, so I'm not talking about 1.8 million, but 185.
- 30:36And I call all everybody follow Chief.
- 30:39Yeah. Because what we need really is
- 30:41that the reasonable people of the conservative leaders, fault
- 30:45leaders who are thinking about the issues, writing things and
- 30:48developing something, you can learn they are fault leaders.
- 30:52But what is Fuentes? I really cannot understand what
- 30:56kind of reason should anybody have to follow him on Twitter.
- 31:01Yes, it is really quite confusing and I I think that if
- 31:03he actually believed he would stood before he would talk
- 31:05about, you know, if he said he loved the West or even, you
- 31:08know, say even the racial stuff, you know, if he said he liked
- 31:11white or whatever, then why are you standing, you know, not
- 31:14talking all the time about Ukraine, for instance, or about,
- 31:17you know, all these other issues.
- 31:19We say this, I think hypocrisy as well.
- 31:21You've seen of course, some of the controversies in America,
- 31:25you know, domestically with sort of migration.
- 31:28But I've seen, I've been sort of surprised.
- 31:30There was, I think a very great problem with sort of, you know,
- 31:34fraud that was found in Minnesota.
- 31:36But the the administration, when it went in, what they have done
- 31:39is they have ended the investigation into the fraud.
- 31:43They have sort of investigated other people and political
- 31:45things. But the actual fraud
- 31:47investigation that was sort of coming out of, you know, Somali
- 31:52community primarily has been sort of organized within them.
- 31:57And I think that was a group that was very unsympathetic to
- 31:59America. The fraud investigation has just
- 32:02been turned away from entirely. And so that has been, you know,
- 32:05really disappointing. And I think it is again, I will
- 32:07go back to, you know, which Springer wrote with Huntington.
- 32:10I have Francis Fukuyama's book, the end of history there.
- 32:13You know, there are many who have looked here at about the,
- 32:15you know, the arc of the West. Hegel, the great German
- 32:18philosopher, you know, talks about, you know, the history
- 32:21moves from East to West and you know, where sort of the
- 32:24culmination of civilization history.
- 32:25And if you really believe all of that, you have to be willing to
- 32:27fight for the values. You can't just say, you know,
- 32:29let's abandoned, you know, all of these values and let's turn
- 32:32to civilization. You know, it's just sort of try
- 32:35to pretend to be the old civilization where that
- 32:37actually, you know, having a morality, for instance, like
- 32:39look at the people Nick Fuentes took to that that nightclub in
- 32:42Florida. I mean, these were not like
- 32:45morally upstanding, you know, Christian conservative people.
- 32:48They were all like, you know, they were drug users.
- 32:51They were the, the human trafficking this, you know,
- 32:53evil, vile thing. I mean, himself talks about, he
- 32:57talks about rape. I mean, he talks about all of
- 32:59these really horrible, horrible things.
- 33:01And it's, I can't imagine that this is considered at all
- 33:06conservative by anyone. We had such a betrayal, of
- 33:09course, of Christianity and of the West.
- 33:11It was, you know, made us great. Exactly.
- 33:15I see it absolutely the same like you.
- 33:17And it's also one of the reasons why I started my social media
- 33:20activity, because I have to somehow also be active in the
- 33:24public domain. Because if the fools are getting
- 33:27such a influence on the minds of our young people, that's very
- 33:31disturbing for me. And this must be counter faults.
- 33:35There must be the counter attack.
- 33:37So let me ask you about the whole issue of migration in
- 33:41America, because recently this kind of ICE, which we in Austria
- 33:46and in Europe see more as a Gestapo kind of disaster force,
- 33:50they have killed this young woman, whatever mother of
- 33:54children, who was trying to escape and run away, which was
- 33:58incorrect. She shouldn't have done that.
- 34:00But the shooter was in our views in Europe.
- 34:03I think there's nobody understands that.
- 34:05And then Trump and JD were coming out before any kind of
- 34:08investigation to defend her. Is this not so?
- 34:11You know, that's really very shocking events in my view.
- 34:15And what do you think about the whole topic that the land of the
- 34:18free, this Great American nation, this melting pot of
- 34:21people is now having this kind of racist kind of policies of
- 34:26free migration? And what do you think about that
- 34:28one? Well.
- 34:29I think it's complicated, but one thing I will say is that it
- 34:32is a great problem when lots of people, I think come in who
- 34:37don't believe in the, the fundamentals of the civilization
- 34:39or the, you know, I mean, of the different civilization, but not
- 34:42of, of some of the, and they don't want to assembly in the
- 34:45society. I mean, I again, I, you know, I
- 34:47think if I think, I think that the focus often has been in the
- 34:50wrong place. For instance, I think it is such
- 34:52a, a sad thing that there are all of these kind of hard
- 34:54working, you know, Mexican Americans or, or just people
- 34:57from, from Mexico who have been gone after when I mean, they
- 34:59are, you know, they, they go to church on Sundays and they, they
- 35:02work good jobs And you know, they're, they're good people and
- 35:05to, to manhandle them and all these things is very, very
- 35:07wrong. You know, we've seen lots of
- 35:10about trade from religious authorities in America, from
- 35:12political authorities and otherwise.
- 35:15You know, I would say there is, I think also an issue with we
- 35:19saw, you know, maybe in newborn Michigan and I think the
- 35:20community in, in Minneapolis, the Somali community, which
- 35:24doesn't have much of A loyalty, I think unfortunately to to
- 35:26America, though, in that case, like I would say, obviously one
- 35:29of my parents is Indian, but she left India because she felt that
- 35:33it was a, you know, a bad country.
- 35:35It's a country that is where men rule women and, and it is a bad
- 35:39country in so many ways. We see right now.
- 35:42India has bankrolled Russia's invasion of Ukraine and they,
- 35:44they are no friend of the West and they should not be thought
- 35:46of that way. I mean, Christians in India have
- 35:48a very hard time with sort of the the the strict Hinduism in
- 35:51the government and. I made the campaign for ex
- 35:55India. It was very entertaining
- 35:58campaign. I became relatively famous on
- 36:01Indian television because I was the evil Austrian economist and
- 36:05I was together with Paul Navarro.
- 36:07I was calling for a high tariffs on India.
- 36:11So I punish them hard. But at the moment we tried to
- 36:14conclude the trade agreement with the Indians.
- 36:16So I have reduced my pressure on them a bit and I hope if they
- 36:21will sign this contract, then we will break them out of the
- 36:26Russian grip and we will break bricks.
- 36:29That's actually our strategic aim, to break the Russian
- 36:32alliance systems and to isolate Russia after the liberation of
- 36:37Iran. And then the breaking of bricks.
- 36:40Russia will be only with China. And then we hopefully have
- 36:44isolated Russia well enough to liberate the Ukrainians.
- 36:49That's the biggest strategy. I hope it works.
- 36:52Yes. You hope so.
- 36:54And so I guess to really to still my views on on this
- 36:57migration question, anything that is targeting children or
- 37:00innocent people is of course very evil and wrong and immoral.
- 37:03But it is of course reasonable to say that we should be asking
- 37:06people to sort of be good in society.
- 37:08But I think many of the people who've been mistreated have been
- 37:12good contributor society. And the focus has not been at
- 37:15all on sort of some of the, you know, perhaps actual issues that
- 37:19have have arisen in terms of sort of, you know, foreign
- 37:22ideologies being imported and things like that.
- 37:26I mean, and of course, of course, migration is a big
- 37:28question in Europe. And it is, I mean, I will say, I
- 37:30think migration in Europe, I, I understand some of the very, I
- 37:33think the very strong concerns are very legitimate.
- 37:34And I, I think there needs to be a handle on it.
- 37:37I mean, you see in, in Sweden, I am seeing that it is, if birth
- 37:41rates continue, it'll be like 30% Muslim by, by 2050 or
- 37:45something. And that would be very bad for
- 37:46Sweden, especially if I mean, not necessarily, but I think the
- 37:50people they're probably if they're Muslim, would not
- 37:52support civilization so much. And so we need to, you know,
- 37:57ideally demand more assimilation or demand in in the case of some
- 38:01people say like Syria, people can go back and help rebuild the
- 38:04country. Now, if the when the war is
- 38:06ending, that would be good. But The thing is, it cannot be
- 38:09done immorally. I mean, this is the the thing.
- 38:11You cannot be be rounding up children.
- 38:13That is that is vile. You know, the Catholic Bishops
- 38:16did a very good statement on this.
- 38:19And so so. Very.
- 38:21I mean, Europe actually, we think that we have the situation
- 38:24quite under control. We are maybe not as dynamic and
- 38:27powerful, but our societies are OK and we are quite good
- 38:31actually. And we are much more worried
- 38:33about America. And I see that the Americans are
- 38:36worried much more about Europe. So maybe we should learn a
- 38:39little bit more about each other and we should be a little bit
- 38:43more tolerant there. Because if I go out now here at
- 38:46home in Vienna, I'm secure and I'm safe.
- 38:50And Vienna is a very safe and nice place to live.
- 38:53And it's a very rich and beautiful city.
- 38:55And we are in no way the chaos that JD Vance is describing us,
- 38:59I'm sure. That's true.
- 39:02But there are, I mean, some things I saw that now students
- 39:05from the United Arab Emirates will not be allowed to study in
- 39:08the United Kingdom because they feel that there is too much
- 39:11promotion of sort of Islamic radicalism of support for Iran
- 39:16and Hamas and all of these things in the United Kingdom.
- 39:19That is too much for the United Arab Emirates.
- 39:21And so if the, if there's ideology spreading in the UK and
- 39:25that is very, I think that is very dangerous.
- 39:27And, you know, and if the Muslim movement can recognize it, I
- 39:30think hopefully we can, of course.
- 39:34Maybe we will have to invite Keir Starmer then and to see
- 39:37what is going on in the UK one day.
- 39:39I'm actually campaigning for the return of the United Kingdom to
- 39:43the European Union because it was basically a Russian plot to
- 39:47get rid of this to to break the European Union and to break the
- 39:53UK out of the EU. That was a tragedy and
- 39:56unfortunately he succeeded and we have now to fix it and that's
- 40:00what we are going to do. But it would be nice if America
- 40:03helps us on that one the next time, yes.
- 40:06Well, I think some people in the UK, I think, again, I think they
- 40:08had delusion to concerns, but the issue was they forgot what
- 40:11the EU was. And again, it was a Christian
- 40:13democratic project. It was the project of, you know,
- 40:16Chide de Gasperi and of Connor Adenauer and, you know, of all
- 40:21of these people that really did want to have a united Western
- 40:24Christian civilization. And so even if I think there is
- 40:28sort of an issue with, you know, I'd like to to see Europe get
- 40:30back to some of those values in, you know, in certain ways, but I
- 40:34don't know, you know, plenty of ways.
- 40:35But nonetheless, the EU is still the greatest union we have of
- 40:41the West here and the second greatest after NATO.
- 40:43And it must be, you know, I'm an American.
- 40:46I think America is the greatest country in the world in all of
- 40:48this. But you know, where the, the
- 40:50children of European civilization specifically of,
- 40:52you know, British English civilization, which is, you
- 40:55know, in all of each other ways also Western, Christian,
- 40:57Germanic, Protestant, all of these things.
- 41:00And there there's a natural cultural union unity there.
- 41:03And it has to be has to be recognized.
- 41:06You know that the founding father of the European Union is
- 41:09called Shawn Monet, a French businessman and politician.
- 41:12And he was basically moderating and organizing the French war
- 41:17effort, industrial war effort from the United States of
- 41:20Washington because you were bringing a lot of the materials
- 41:24to Europe by land lease. He was the administrator of that
- 41:27program and for the reconstruction.
- 41:29And he has basically from the beginning, copied the European
- 41:32Union along the American model. And that was from the beginning,
- 41:36the start. And he received a lot of funding
- 41:38and political and economic support from the United States
- 41:42in order to reconstruct Europe and to build the United States
- 41:46of Europe in the design of the United States of America.
- 41:52Yes, absolutely. And in the same way that even
- 41:55though America has had, you know, unfortunately I have a
- 41:59good book by Charles Murray coming apart to explain some of
- 42:02this. We've had some some great
- 42:03cultural issues in terms of, you know, lack of children and lack
- 42:06of sort of, you know, families have disintegrated in many
- 42:09places. Unfortunately, we've lost a lot
- 42:11of our industrial core, but that means we need to, we have a
- 42:14renaissance in America. We have to, I'm gonna revitalize
- 42:17the American spirit and the frontier spirit, the cowboy
- 42:20spirit in the same way, you know, Europe can, can revitalize
- 42:23the old spirit. And then to say to, you know,
- 42:26get rid of the EU because there are these issues that are
- 42:28legitimate issues. It's silly.
- 42:32Exactly. Yes, yes.
- 42:33European Union is, is a union for Europe.
- 42:36And if you like Europe, you should want to have Europe
- 42:38united. And we will do this thanks to
- 42:42Mr. Trump as well, because now we will get Greenland in the
- 42:45European Union, we will get Denmark in the eurozone.
- 42:49We will also integrate Ukraine in the European Union and also
- 42:53Kosovo and Albania. You will see a lot of things
- 42:56will happen because of the pressure Mr. Trump is putting on
- 42:59us. Yes, the Greenland thing
- 43:01especially I, when Trump first said it, I was thinking well,
- 43:04OK, if he says we will pay $100 million to for Greenland and the
- 43:09day and Denmark says yes, I am in favor of that.
- 43:12If, if Denmark would agree and that is OK.
- 43:14But Denmark said no and that is that their ally and they sent in
- 43:1820,000 of their young men to go fight in Afghanistan for us.
- 43:21And so why would we take Greenland from them if they
- 43:24don't want us to have it, Especially when we have, we
- 43:27already have the access to all the things that we would like in
- 43:29Greenland. And if we would like more, which
- 43:31I think it's not an unfair thing to ask for, then we can do so
- 43:34through the proper channels and not, you know, cause 'cause
- 43:37chaos. So I think that is absolutely,
- 43:41you know, the central missionary.
- 43:42And I wanted to turn to Mr. Orban in Hungary because I am,
- 43:45I'm disappointed by the admiration I think many
- 43:47conservatives have for Orban. I mean, think about Hungary
- 43:50historically. I mean, Hungary was taken over
- 43:52by, by, I'd be retaken by Austria.
- 44:00You know, there was in all of this.
- 44:02I mean, imagine if the Hungarians 400 years ago had the
- 44:05same mindset towards European unity that Orban seems to have
- 44:08now. Imagine if, you know, when the
- 44:12Habsburgs and and Austria were saying, let's just take Hungary
- 44:16back for, you know, sort of the West from, you know, be under,
- 44:21you know, Islamic rule. Imagine if the Hungarians had
- 44:24been like Orban and said, we don't want to be with Europe.
- 44:27I mean, it would have been what a disaster.
- 44:28And then I think Orban now, and it's unfortunate because he was
- 44:31a freedom fighter against the Communists so long ago.
- 44:34And so I wish that he would continue to be his pro W,
- 44:37although I'm grateful to think there's a center right
- 44:39opposition that might be able to win the election this year.
- 44:42Exactly. I fully endorse Peter McGuire.
- 44:44I've done it already many times on my Twitter account.
- 44:47And he is a conservative leader, which we really need is pro
- 44:50European. He will introduce the euro in
- 44:52Hungary and he will support Ukraine and he will support
- 44:56America as well. Definitely because he's a
- 44:58conservative good guy and Auburn is basically a traitor who is in
- 45:02the pocket of Putin. And he will demand must be
- 45:04defeated in April. And I will do my very best he on
- 45:07the show to fight against Auburn and fight for Peter McGuire as
- 45:11the new Prime Minister of Hungary.
- 45:13And you can tell all the good American patriots to support
- 45:17Peter because he is a very good person and he will stand with us
- 45:21and he will make Hungary great again and he will kick the
- 45:26Russians out of Budapest. And that's very good, though.
- 45:32Good, yes. Let's conclude it 100 years ago,
- 45:34the last time the Russians had a great communist.
- 45:37Yeah, exactly, Chief. It was very nice to talk to you.
- 45:40I propose A structured corporation in the future.
- 45:43I will put it on online now on YouTube and Spotify.
- 45:46But let's keep it as a beginning and then we can work together
- 45:51for NATO enlargement. And that's my offer to
- 45:54constructively work in the coming years together and to
- 45:58turn the opinion in America and in Europe that we are basically
- 46:031 W. We are like sister and brother
- 46:06of the West, the two pillars of the European Union and the
- 46:09United States of America. We are united in NATO and we
- 46:13will defeat our enemies and we will make the best great again.
- 46:18Yes, absolutely. There's a no going to conclude
- 46:20on. I look forward to working for
- 46:22you, working with you in the future, Gunther and to promoting
- 46:27NATO, the West, Western civilization.
- 46:30And yes, thank you so much. Have a wonderful.
- 46:34Day so happy, thanks a lot. Enjoy your Saturday.
- 46:38Have a nice weekend. Best regards from Vienna.
- 46:40Thanks for joining the show every.
- 46:41Weekend best wishes from California.
