A tragic home explosion in Annapolis, caused by a propane gas leak from a nicked line during HVAC work, ignited by a metal grinder—officially ruled an accident. The homeowner, with a diminished sense of smell, failed to detect the leak and remains hospitalized in serious condition. Seventy-six-year-old Linda Synowczynski died at the scene, and a police officer was injured but not critically. The propane company is cleared of involvement.
