- 0:12Good morning, everyone, and welcome back to Half-Faith, Let It Begin.
- 0:15My name is Angel Santana.
- 0:17Today, we conclude our series, Cheated.
- 0:20This week, we've talked about betrayal. We've talked about heartbreak.
- 0:25We've talked about people who hurt us.
- 0:28We've talked about the moments we hurt ourselves. But today,
- 0:32we're talking about something different.
- 0:36Today we're talking about freedom because there comes a moment in every person's
- 0:41healing journey when they have to make a decision.
- 0:45Will I spend the rest of my life revealing the worst day of my life or will
- 0:51I begin living for the days that God still has ahead of me?
- 0:55This episode is called I Refuse to Be Defined by My Worst Day.
- 1:00Have Faith, Let It Begin starts right now. Have faith, let it begin.
- 1:06When it starts right now.
- 1:10Welcome to Have Faith. Let it begin.
- 1:14Here's your host, Angel Santana. All right, here we go. It's a Friday. Let's close it out.
- 1:19There was a time in my life when I believed that my story had already been written.
- 1:26Not because God wrote it. Because pain wrote it.
- 1:29The heartbreak wow yeah
- 1:33heartbreak wrote it disappointment wrote it betrayal wrote it and for a long
- 1:38time even every time i thought about my future i viewed it through the lens
- 1:43of my past maybe you've been there maybe something happened to you years ago
- 1:50and somehow it still feels like yesterday.
- 1:53Maybe there's a date, a memory, a conversation, a loss, maybe even a betrayal.
- 1:59And every once in a while, it shows up uninvited.
- 2:04Sometimes through a dream, sometimes through a song, and sometimes through a memory.
- 2:10And suddenly you're standing there. You're standing in yesterday again.
- 2:14I know that feeling because I've lived that feeling.
- 2:18What I've learned is that healing isn't forgetting. Healing isn't pretending.
- 2:24Healing isn't pretending it never happened.
- 2:27Healing isn't waking up one day and magically feeling better.
- 2:32Healing is learning how to remember without allowing the memory to control you.
- 2:37For years, I thought victory meant never thinking about the pain again.
- 2:41Now, I understand something different.
- 2:46Victory means the pain no longer owns me.
- 2:49The memory exists, but it no longer controls my future.
- 2:54The betrayal happened, but it no longer defines my identity.
- 2:58The heartbreak was real, but it no longer determines my worth.
- 3:04One of my favorite things about scripture is that God consistently uses broken people.
- 3:08Moses had failures. David had failures.
- 3:12Peter had failures.
- 3:15Paul had failures, yet God still used them, not because they were perfect,
- 3:20but because God specializes in redemption.
- 3:24And maybe that's the lesson I've learned through all of this.
- 3:27The enemy wanted my pain to become my identity, and God wanted my pain to become
- 3:34part of my testimony. There's a difference.
- 3:37One keeps you trapped, and the other sets people free.
- 3:41If you're listening, if you're interested, it, I want you to think about one
- 3:46thing, and one thing that's been caring, the thing that still hurts,
- 3:50the thing you rarely talk about, the thing that still finds a way to enter your thoughts.
- 3:55And now ask yourself, I remember it. I'm still living it.
- 4:00Because God didn't call us to build homes in our heartbreak.
- 4:02He called us to walk through it, learn from it, heal from it,
- 4:07and keep moving forward.
- 4:10And that's the key factor in all that we ever do.
- 4:13So as you conclude this week with me on a Friday, let's just remember we have
- 4:19to take a step back, relax, put our faith and trust in him.
- 4:26And today, I choose faith over fear.
- 4:30I choose purpose over pain. I choose hope over bitterness.
- 4:36And most importantly, I choose to believe that God is not finished with me yet.
- 4:40The worst day of my life may have been or may have always be a part of my story,
- 4:47but I will never, ever let the title of my story be the defining moment of my life.
- 4:56But it will never be the title of my story.
- 4:59Jesus Christ gets that title. Let's pray together.
- 5:02Heavenly Father, thank you for carrying us through this painful chapter of our lives.
- 5:06Thank you for never leaving us, even when we felt broken, betrayed,
- 5:11forgotten, or even alone.
- 5:13Help us release the past into your hands and walk boldly into the future.
- 5:20You have prepared for us, reminded us, and remind us that our identity is found
- 5:26in you, not in what happens. to us.
- 5:29We pray this into your name. Amen.
- 5:32So to everyone enjoying for me this journey of this week, it's been powerful.
- 5:36It's been a huge series and we finally made it through.
- 5:40If this series helped you, encouraged you, challenged you, or reminded you that
- 5:44you're not alone, then sharing these stories was worth it.
- 5:48Remember, you're not identified or not identified by.
- 5:52Most of you got defined by your worst day. You're not defined by your biggest mistakes.
- 5:57You're not defined by the people who hurt you. You're defined by the God who
- 6:00loves you. So until next time, have a great weekend.
- 6:05Remember that God loves you, that God believes in you, and he'll never leave your side.
- 6:10For the Friday edition and the series that we've been together,
- 6:14I wish you nothing but good success.
- 6:17And never forget, have faith, let it begin.
