- 0:22SPEAKER_00: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to the Murders to Music Podcast.
- 0:25SPEAKER_00: My name is Aaron, I'm your host, and thank you guys so much for coming back for another week.
- 0:29SPEAKER_00: On tonight's show, I want to talk about the future of the Murders to Music Podcast.
- 0:34SPEAKER_00: You see, two years ago, I started this show, and we just finished our second season.
- 0:40SPEAKER_00: And during that time, we I recorded 160 episodes, and I haven't missed a single week.
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: When I started the Murders to Music podcast, I started from a place of survival, healing, PTSD, identity rebuilding.
- 0:57SPEAKER_00: I was leaving law enforcement, finding my footing again in the real world, in a corporate world, in a new world.
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: And during the last 160 episodes, I have said a lot of things that were deeply personal, vulnerable, but at some point there's only so many ways to tell the story of myself before I feel like it starts to be repetitive or forced.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: The last thing I want to do is force a square peg into a round hole in this show.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: I believe it's too important.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: I believe there are people out there who listen every single week because they love the content and the vulnerability and the rawness that comes out in these episodes, whether it's myself or a guest speaking.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: So what I have decided to do after much prayer and reflection is I have decided to take a short break.
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: I need a short break to refill the tank, to reflect, and to come back even stronger for season three.
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: This show means too much to me to allow it to run on fumes.
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: You know, if we were talking about an automobile, we would be going down the road using a clutch and a gas and a brake and a stick shift.
- 2:10SPEAKER_00: And at some point, you have to shift to a different gear to allow the engine to rest.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: And when you do that, it keeps you from having to hit the brakes.
- 2:19SPEAKER_00: And I don't want to hit the brakes on this podcast.
- 2:23SPEAKER_00: I simply want a time to breathe, to reflect, and to figure out what the next chapter of the Murders to Music podcast is going to become.
- 2:34SPEAKER_00: And considering all of this, there are some fears.
- 2:37SPEAKER_00: The fears are that I have been involved in this podcast for two years.
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: I have played algorithm games.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: I have got the momentum.
- 2:47SPEAKER_00: I am in the top 50 podcasts in my space.
- 2:51SPEAKER_00: And I've worked very, very hard to find that place.
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: And my fear is that I lose it.
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: My fear is that you, the listeners, go somewhere else and don't come back when I start this back up.
- 3:04SPEAKER_00: And if that happens, well then that's the price of doing business.
- 3:08SPEAKER_00: I hope it doesn't.
- 3:09SPEAKER_00: But at the end of the day, if the podcast I'm putting out is taking an adverse or negative toll on me, I need to pause before things implode.
- 3:21SPEAKER_00: I have imploded in the past and I don't want to do it again.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: That being said, I just ask for your support and your love and your prayers.
- 3:28SPEAKER_00: As I take a pause on season three and figure out what the next chapter of this show is going to look like.
- 3:36SPEAKER_00: Ladies and gentlemen, I thank each and every one of you for listening, and I encourage you to go back and listen to older episodes.
- 3:44SPEAKER_00: If you have listened to all 160 episodes, you're going to get a free toaster.
- 3:48SPEAKER_00: I believe that there's lots of material there for people to listen to over a four or five week period while I regroup.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: Please keep watching.
- 3:57SPEAKER_00: I may throw out some snapshot episodes over the next few weeks just to keep a little bit of momentum going, but I promise I'm not going to ghost you.
- 4:05SPEAKER_00: I will be back four to five weeks with a new season, new thoughts, new direction, and new energy.
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: Ladies and gentlemen, I love you.
- 4:15SPEAKER_00: That is a Murders to Music Podcast.
