- 0:00OK, so it's time for another edition of the Rancho Radio.
- 0:03Podcast. And I am your host.
- 0:06Jim Watkins is my name. Long time reader since 1982.
- 0:10I even wrote it on my book on the inside flap the day I
- 0:13started reading the book. And that was a long, long time
- 0:16ago. And it's good to be here and I
- 0:18want to share. A lot with you today.
- 0:21I've been writing a lot of notes.
- 0:22I haven't been keeping my normal regiment because life gets
- 0:27complicated and we're all so busy trying to keep.
- 0:29Up right. And that's me too.
- 0:32And I. Apologize because I I.
- 0:33So long to have that time with you to.
- 0:36Talk about the fifth epical. Revelation So many things that
- 0:40go through my mind about so much.
- 0:44Just a couple of things that. We will talk about today the 10.
- 0:48Things I I started to think. About how could.
- 0:52The Urantia book Change the World.
- 0:55That thought often comes into my mind.
- 0:57Maybe you too when you're reading a a passage.
- 1:01That light goes. Off in your head and you say, my
- 1:05God, if, if everybody could experience the feeling of
- 1:09knowing what I've just learned, how much of a difference would
- 1:12that make in the world? And there's so many things wrong
- 1:15in the. World I I just.
- 1:17Had a conversation with my son and he's in his mid 20s and he's
- 1:21perplexed by how much evil is in the world.
- 1:26I'm not sure if it's always been this bad, I think we just see it
- 1:30more. Easily, because everybody is.
- 1:33On their smartphones, we're getting to hear what other
- 1:36people are thinking all of the time.
- 1:38That has to be. Part of the problem.
- 1:41It's too much information. I saw a.
- 1:44Woman, she recorded herself and she's.
- 1:47Got a little baby? She's holding the baby and she
- 1:50says, you know, the best thing you can do right now is get rid
- 1:53of your smartphone, go back to the landline and spend time with
- 1:58your kids and don't get. Distracted by.
- 2:00Everything else that's going on in the world, I sometimes think
- 2:05that's probably. Good advice, so we'll talk
- 2:10about. 10 year Rancho book concepts in a little bit.
- 2:14Also I want to talk about Christianity.
- 2:18I think a lot about Christianity, and you and I
- 2:20have. Talked about.
- 2:22The role of Christianity in the world and I have some insights I
- 2:27want to share with you about. That before we take our break to
- 2:31pay the bills, as they say. I want to direct you back.
- 2:35Over to the Urantia radio.org website, urantiaradio.org.
- 2:41It's getting, it's getting more and more where I want it to be
- 2:45my. Podcaster archive.
- 2:47There it also has a. Description so that you can kind
- 2:51of thumb through and you can. See looking backwards what?
- 2:55Some of the. Other podcasts were about.
- 2:57There's also an icon where you can leave a message, not write a
- 3:01message. But actually.
- 3:03Speak into your phone and tell me what's on your mind, if
- 3:06you've got a book question or if you've.
- 3:08Got a thought? Or or even if you just want to
- 3:11say. Howdy, it's so easy.
- 3:15Just go to yourrancherradio.org. And look.
- 3:18For the little blue. Ribbon on the side and it says
- 3:21record a message. And you just hit it and you
- 3:23start recording. And if you don't want me to use
- 3:26the message, then leave that message too, and I won't hear
- 3:30it. And also on the tail end of this
- 3:35episode, I want to talk a little bit about my interview with
- 3:38Halbert Katzen, which you can hear on the urantiaradio.org.
- 3:43Website just looking for the. Live stream icon and that will.
- 3:47Take you to. My new live stream.
- 3:50That I just set. Up and and what that live stream
- 3:53is, it's kind of cool that you can listen to Urantia music, you
- 3:57can listen to all the music. That we feature.
- 4:00Here with David Dinger, you can listen to past interviews.
- 4:04That go back 5. Years, in fact, my first
- 4:06interview with Larry Mullen. Is is.
- 4:10On the live stream, I'm going to keep it.
- 4:11Up there for a couple weeks. So I know a lot of plug Ola
- 4:16going on there, but. Let's take a quick break.
- 4:18And we'll come back and we'll talk about the 10 things the
- 4:21Urantia book says that I believe will completely change the world
- 4:25when we continue on the Urantia Radio.
- 4:27Podcast. Welcome back to the Rancho Radio
- 5:04Podcast. I just wanted to give you kind
- 5:06of a moment to decompress. I I gave.
- 5:12It some thought and I want to share some of my.
- 5:14Ideas with you about we we do. Spend a lot of time reading the
- 5:19book and and in this episode we we won't be reading any.
- 5:22Papers, but we will talk about the.
- 5:25Book and its impact on on. The world at.
- 5:28Large and obviously it is a revelation.
- 5:33It it compares itself on the same level as Melchizedek, even
- 5:37the revelation of Jesus Christ when he presented.
- 5:42The Father to us. In human form.
- 5:45And now here we are, 2000 years. Later with a book that.
- 5:49Proclaims itself an epical revelation and so in order to
- 5:57put itself in that position of importance, I think it's.
- 6:03Important for us to look at. What the Urantia book says in
- 6:09totality in a summary form, and then extrapolate from that what
- 6:14that knowledge would do and what it means for the world.
- 6:20And so at the very. Top of the list here are the. 10
- 6:23Urantia book concepts. I believe if they were widely.
- 6:27Understood and embraced could realistically change the
- 6:31direction of of human. Society for the better.
- 6:35Along with examples. Of how they could.
- 6:36Work in. Practice.
- 6:39So at the very top of the list, the.
- 6:41Idea of a universal. Fatherhood of God the.
- 6:45Teaching is that all humans are children of one God, no
- 6:48exceptions. Now think of the impact if that
- 6:51was embraced. Number one, it would end racial,
- 6:54national and religious superiority claims #2 it would
- 7:00create a sense of true global family and as an example,
- 7:06government schools. Religious groups could focus on
- 7:09building unity rather than dividing along identity lines.
- 7:14That from the one singular truth and the embracement of the
- 7:17truth, if we could get to that point.
- 7:20Where we could actually say, as Jesus taught over it was the
- 7:25core. Principle of his of his teaching
- 7:28it was the reason he came here was to introduce.
- 7:30Us to his father, that as the eldest.
- 7:35Son, think about that, the universality.
- 7:39Of the fatherhood of God. Now I know that the Christianity
- 7:44teaches the Father in heaven, but somehow it it has managed
- 7:51to. Be perceived as a.
- 7:52Western religion I don't see any other faith saying that the.
- 7:58Father is the fatherhood of all people.
- 8:00Even people who don't believe in the.
- 8:02Fatherhood of God, He is still their Father.
- 8:06And it's. Because of that equal.
- 8:08Disbursement of His grace that we can all say we're brothers
- 8:12and sisters in the spiritual sense and that leads to the next
- 8:18concept that the. Urantia book teaches.
- 8:20That, if embraced, could change the spiritual tone of this world
- 8:24#2 the brotherhood and sisterhood of man.
- 8:27Every human being is spiritually equal and equally loved.
- 8:32And think of the impact if if that concept was embraced.
- 8:36It would end prejudice, bigotry, discrimination.
- 8:41It would lose all of these things, would lose their moral
- 8:43legitimacy. The idea of us.
- 8:46Being a brotherhood and a sisterhood of man, mankind, the
- 8:52human, it fosters empathy across cultural and political.
- 8:57Divides, as Jesus taught. All men are your.
- 9:01Brothers love them as you love yourself.
- 9:06And think about all the conflicts that might be solved
- 9:09with immigration and foreign policy and humanitarianism and
- 9:14and they would be guided by a moral kinship rather than
- 9:17complete self-interest. But.
- 9:21It starts with the seed of the idea of of the.
- 9:24Brotherhood and sisterhood, concept of a universal religion.
- 9:28That is. Based on the.
- 9:30Fatherhood of God. And then here's #3 which is a
- 9:34big one. The thought adjuster.
- 9:38If if human beings were cognizant of the fact.
- 9:42That they were in. Possession of the Spirit,
- 9:45fragment of the Father in their minds.
- 9:47A literal. Fragment of God indwelling every
- 9:50normal human being. Regardless of their.
- 9:53Race, their creed, their gender, it doesn't matter.
- 9:58But think of the. The effect it would have.
- 10:01If everyone felt dignified in knowing that they had the
- 10:06fragment of the living Father within the citadel of their
- 10:09mind, every person would see themselves.
- 10:13As a sacred part of God. Each would have eternal meaning.
- 10:19We would understand that it is that fragment that survives and.
- 10:23Carries us forward. Justice systems focused on
- 10:27rehabilitation and potential rather than only punishment.
- 10:31You know, because our current justice system, and it may be
- 10:34somewhat partially true, maybe not, but mostly we think that of
- 10:38serious offenders as being irredeemable, but.
- 10:42I've heard stories I've. Got friends who?
- 10:44Collect stories of. Redemption, and it's there and
- 10:51that redemption, where does it come from?
- 10:53It comes from the notion of a human being connecting with God
- 10:59and turning their life over to Him and how it changes people
- 11:04once they connect with that spirit fragment number.
- 11:08Four. What else?
- 11:09Could the. Urantia Book.
- 11:11Teach the World. How about the eternal?
- 11:13Life as the true goal, the. Teaching of mortal life being
- 11:18but the first stage of an eternal spiritual career.
- 11:23Now the Urantia. Book does teach us.
- 11:25That the day-to-day living is very important and we are not to
- 11:30forsake. That we have a duty to live
- 11:32this. Part of our immortal life, our
- 11:35existence as good citizens, faithful servants, indeed as
- 11:40brothers in a spiritual Kingdom. But to teach that this is only
- 11:45one segment of a longer period of time that stretches into the
- 11:49future. Will there be less?
- 11:51Apprehension and fear and anxiety about death.
- 11:55I mean, you think you know, say people.
- 11:57Say that they. Invented religion because.
- 12:01Well, because people are afraid. Of dying well.
- 12:03Absolutely they're afraid of we're all.
- 12:04Afraid of dying? We're all afraid of our
- 12:07mortality. Who wouldn't be if if animals
- 12:10knew that they were going to die?
- 12:11They'd be a little upset about that.
- 12:13They don't know that, they don't conceive you of death in the way
- 12:17that we do, but it's that conception of the potential for
- 12:21there not to be. Death that.
- 12:23Distinguishes us from our animal cousins because we know that
- 12:27this is going to end and we think, well then what's next?
- 12:32Nothing. That's what secularism teaches
- 12:36and that's where the moral panic starts to arise and emerge.
- 12:43People living for long term soul growth rather than short term
- 12:46materialism would have a transformative effect on a human
- 12:49being the the the normal and average.
- 12:52Pitfalls of everyday. Life would be lessened.
- 12:54The burden of that lessened knowing that everything that in
- 12:58your life has intrinsic value and meaning.
- 13:01How much? Does that elevate your?
- 13:02Purpose in life and man, let me tell you what the, the anxiety,
- 13:06that mental illness, the all of the different afflictions where,
- 13:11where's that message going to come from #5 the religion of
- 13:18personal spiritual experience. True religion is a personal
- 13:22connection with God. It is not a religious adherence
- 13:26to creeds or institutions. It is those things.
- 13:30It is. Those characteristics of.
- 13:32Evolutionary religion that drive modern man away from God, not
- 13:37to. God that they have to follow.
- 13:41A certain amount of rules or. That they have to.
- 13:43Pray so many times a day or that they have to do something on one
- 13:46day but not do it on the. No, God is an is a 24/7
- 13:51operation. But what that means is that that
- 13:56that personal. Religious experience is the.
- 13:58Only requirement. To live a religious.
- 14:01Life and that transformative effect would make people
- 14:04naturally want to be better people, number six.
- 14:09Jesus has the. Revelation of God's character
- 14:11teaching so much of the the gospel, so much of the New
- 14:15Testament is based on the resurrection of Christ, and we
- 14:19shouldn't downplay or undermine the importance of that.
- 14:22But that's not why he. Lived.
- 14:25He lived to show us the. Revelation of God's character.
- 14:29He who has seen me has seen the Father.
- 14:32Christ is the highest. Representative of the Eternal
- 14:36Father of any personality. He revealed God's.
- 14:41Love in his life. It it was literally.
- 14:43As God was on earth. I hear a lot of people say.
- 14:49One comes from Alice. Cooper of all people.
- 14:52He says when you really figure out, when you come to that point
- 14:55in your life, when you really. Realize who Jesus was.
- 15:03That's when it changes. Your life faith.
- 15:07Becomes a new way of life. It's not just merely a.
- 15:09Password or a ticket? To heaven when you get to.
- 15:12The pearly Gates. They don't ask.
- 15:14You your password, but they if they do.
- 15:17You might just mention Jesus. Just just say it.
- 15:20It might be a universal. Password but.
- 15:24They're not going to ask you that.
- 15:25They'll know it already. He'll know it already.
- 15:28The other thing that the revelation of the life.
- 15:30Of Jesus, which the. Urantia Book presents in 700.
- 15:33Pages is that faith becomes a way of life.
- 15:38It is just the the. The rule of conduct, ethics,
- 15:42mercy and service become central and also natural.
- 15:47It becomes natural through the habit of doing.
- 15:49Good example of. This is the church.
- 15:53Prioritizes feeding the hungry, sheltering the homeless, and
- 15:57mentoring the lonely over building wealth so those become
- 16:02the important things in a community doing good the.
- 16:08Best way to serve the will of God is to do good. #7 is the
- 16:13integration of science, philosophy and religion, which
- 16:17comprises the Urantia book. The Urantia book shows that
- 16:21science, philosophy and religion.
- 16:25Are are all three? Aspects of the same.
- 16:28Core reality. Mind, matter, spirit.
- 16:33And so forth. And it also ends the divide.
- 16:36The Urantia book would end the divide between faith and
- 16:38science. It.
- 16:41It says that technology is good with moral vision, environmental
- 16:47and AI ethics. Could be guided by both
- 16:50scientific data. And spiritual values.
- 16:55Another thing that the Arantia book and I put it on my list is
- 16:58number 8 is progressive civilization, Civilizations
- 17:02naturally. Evolved toward peace, justice.
- 17:04And global unity is citizens grow morally.
- 17:09That is, that is. The thing that seems to be
- 17:11missing? Everybody's wondering.
- 17:13How are we headed? For the future, what kind of
- 17:15world are we going to be? What?
- 17:17What are people? Going to be like 100 years from
- 17:19now, 1000 year. Well, we won't be here, not in
- 17:23the way that we can imagine today, unless we grow morally.
- 17:28The Urantia book more than once says Destruction, Survival.
- 17:34It's your choice. On an individual level and on a
- 17:37group level, there's nothing that says that they can't start
- 17:41over. With this.
- 17:42But if it happens that way. It's not going to be God causing
- 17:45a flood, it's going to be us making bad decisions, doing
- 17:50things like going to war with nuclear weapons or trashing up
- 17:56the entire planet with plastics and, and, and in that regard
- 18:01becoming less materialistic. Would be a good.
- 18:03Thing #9 service we we need to somehow transition from purely
- 18:13profit. To service the.
- 18:16Wantingness. The desire.
- 18:18To serve others. That is the highest.
- 18:20Human duty. That is what the Urantia book
- 18:23teaches. People say, well, what?
- 18:24Does it teach? Well, it teaches that service.
- 18:26Is the highest human. Duty service is the the true.
- 18:31Path to greatness. Selfishness.
- 18:34Is the root of decay. And if.
- 18:38We were to take. In this revelation reverses the
- 18:42glorification of greed, strengthens communities, and
- 18:46creates an environment of social honor and reward systems.
- 18:50Celebrate acts of service. As much as wealth or fame, it's
- 18:54it's interesting in the paper on what government is like on
- 18:58another planet it. It talks about the idea that
- 19:03their society upholds. Loyalty its citizens reward.
- 19:09Loyalty. They see that as people that are
- 19:13loyal. Servants to the government.
- 19:15Or representatives for their. State or national government,
- 19:19they don't get. Away with.
- 19:20Some of the stuff. We see.
- 19:22Are you? See all the infighting going on
- 19:24politically. They're they're, they're seeking
- 19:27political power. And that is their.
- 19:30Their desire. But that's not the way a society
- 19:34can't. Be that way.
- 19:36Ultimately for the. Good of the people we have to
- 19:39have. Representatives and people.
- 19:41That get elected that. Do so with honor and integrity.
- 19:47And then finally, I think probably the greatest
- 19:49pronouncement that the Urantia book makes is cosmic
- 19:53citizenship. Now I only speak from my own
- 19:57experience, but when I was younger reading the Urantia book
- 20:00the. The.
- 20:01Idea of there being cosmic of being a a resident of a universe
- 20:07as opposed to a small planet. Was it an enormous jump for me
- 20:12in in understanding the cosmos I I no longer lived on an island.
- 20:18I was now a citizen of the spiritual Kingdom, and as a
- 20:22citizen and and as a an. Ambassador, it is up.
- 20:26For me or you? Or others who adopt.
- 20:28That citizenship that we. Hold ourselves to a higher
- 20:31standard, we hold ourselves to a higher power, and we.
- 20:36Recognize that we are being judged.
- 20:39By how we behave. Especially when you're given
- 20:41the. Truth to he Who.
- 20:43Has been given much much as. Expected.
- 20:47So we should probably just take a little bit of a break, just a
- 20:49little. Bit of a music interlude again,
- 20:52and then I'll come back and I want to talk a little bit about
- 20:54my interview with Howard Katzen, which you can listen to on the
- 20:59stream live icon on urantiaradio.org.
- 21:02And we'll get to that a little. Bit because I have some thoughts
- 21:06about that and then also. Let's talk about let's.
- 21:09Talk about compatibility of Christianity based on the
- 21:14teachings of the Urantia book. O hang on just for a few
- 21:17seconds. We'll be right back.
- 21:50I wanted to talk about and I will talk about it maybe in the
- 21:54next episode about the 10 commandments.
- 21:57I've been doing some thinking about the 10 commandments and I
- 22:01wanted. To trace back.
- 22:02Where they came from and what I came up with based on the
- 22:05Urantia book I believe and somebody please correct me.
- 22:10Go to yourranchoradio.org or e-mail me at
- 22:13urantiabookradio@gmail.com. I believe that the that.
- 22:20What were the Dalmatian commandments which later became
- 22:23the Supreme commandments? Of of the 1st.
- 22:26Garden and the second garden with Adam and Eve.
- 22:30And then we had. The the School of.
- 22:33Melchizedek and what he. Taught his disciples.
- 22:37And they were sort of more or less like the commandments, but
- 22:40they have all a running theme. And then of course, what we're
- 22:43left with today in the modern age is this 10 commandments from
- 22:47Moses going back to Exodus receiving these commandments.
- 22:52It's a great story. It's a great story and it's a
- 22:56story. That unfortunately, the world
- 22:59does not know about and in the next.
- 23:01Episode. I'll spend a little bit of time
- 23:04on it. I think that they.
- 23:06Can be traced back. To the Veranda Deck Suns and
- 23:11I'll just leave it there, OK, because I don't want to spoil
- 23:14it. Another thought that had
- 23:16occurred to me because. You've if you've.
- 23:18Listened to these podcasts, you know that I consider myself a
- 23:21new Christian and I don't know, maybe I, I identified, explained
- 23:25what that means, but to me, a new Christian.
- 23:29Who is it? Halverson, Chris Halverson, who
- 23:33is in in the study groups and a huge longtime reader and
- 23:37influencer in the Urantia movement.
- 23:41One quote I heard. Him say is that?
- 23:43People have a tendency to pour new wine into old wineskins,
- 23:48meaning we take revelation and we immediately try to make it.
- 23:51Adapt to our. Previous conceptions.
- 23:55Of what? Our religious.
- 23:56Faith is, and I've done that with the Urantia book.
- 24:00I I grew up a Christian. My mom occasionally would make
- 24:03us go to school, I mean go to church, and we had a good time
- 24:08and all that. And I learned enough so that
- 24:11later in life, when I was searching for meaning and value,
- 24:15it was natural for me to draw upon the well of my Christian
- 24:19upbringing and when the Urantia book was introduced into my
- 24:23life. I was able to because of the
- 24:26soil. Of Christianity, the seeds of
- 24:29the Urantia. Book were able to sprout rather
- 24:31quickly, but. The the thing that makes that
- 24:36important, which I'll. Address is that.
- 24:39Christianity versus other worlds religions or or.
- 24:44Creeds is. Not all that compatible.
- 24:48For example, Islam is not really compatible with Christianity.
- 24:53It has some similarities and, but they're not.
- 24:57If you ask it typically, it'd be rare for.
- 24:59You to find someone who is deeply Islamic to ever switch to
- 25:04Christianity. Unless, of course, Christ came
- 25:07into his heart and there was some circumstance I could see.
- 25:10That. Communism is not compatible with
- 25:13Christianity in many. Ways the LGBTQ.
- 25:17Agenda is not compatible with Christianity, especially since
- 25:21they've. Decided to strike a.
- 25:24War against traditional family which is compatible with
- 25:28Christianity? Christianity is more compatible.
- 25:33With the Jewish faith, except for.
- 25:36The personality of Christ and his divinity.
- 25:40Globalism is not even compatible with Christianity, although you
- 25:43would think in extrapolating some of the truths from the
- 25:46Urantia book that it might be. But it really isn't, because
- 25:49globalism lends itself to centralized power and
- 25:53centralized power unless it's the most highs of Edentia or if
- 25:58it's a planetary Prince. Or Jesus himself, globalism.
- 26:03Will not work if it's managed by men, of that I am convinced,
- 26:06even though that might not. Be 1000.
- 26:09Years from now. Maybe if we.
- 26:11Become more morally fragrant. It's possible, but for right
- 26:15now, the way globalism is set up, it's more about control and
- 26:18power. Than it is about love of God or
- 26:22the the spiritual truths. So what's compatible with?
- 26:27Christianity. Well, I already mentioned one
- 26:29strong family. Is the bedrock of a truly
- 26:32advanced society. If you read the.
- 26:34Papers on marriage and family life you understand that the
- 26:37revelators were telling us that this is.
- 26:40The way it works. You get the sense that every
- 26:45evolutionary. World that's out there abides by
- 26:49eventually they get to where they.
- 26:51Learn that family and fidelity. Is the best possible.
- 26:54Environment for raising children.
- 26:57Who grew up to be loyal, trustworthy and ethical.
- 27:00If you look at children today and you look at the divorce rate
- 27:03and the broken families, you understand that.
- 27:07It is. Because marriage and family are
- 27:10on, on, on. Trial that we.
- 27:12Have so much unsettledness in our societies.
- 27:15Particularly Western societies. Faith.
- 27:19In in core moral principles and service to a personal deity
- 27:23produces strong character and stable leadership.
- 27:26The revelators tell us, tell us this.
- 27:29Christianity tells us this. Moral behavior is the.
- 27:33Foundation of a stable. Society.
- 27:36That's what the Urantia book teaches.
- 27:38It lessens almost every. Social I'll that is destructive
- 27:42to the social order. And people are happier.
- 27:44And more productive. I just saw a.
- 27:47Report today. Maybe it was Jordan Peterson.
- 27:49Somebody had said that. If you look at all the societies
- 27:52that are best. Based on Christian principles,
- 27:56they more often. Do better, there's less.
- 27:58Poverty. There's less sickness than in
- 28:02non Christian countries. Forgiveness is.
- 28:06The basis of the Golden Rule, The Urantia.
- 28:08Book teaches and this is compatible with Christianity in
- 28:11fact. It's the bedrock of of Jesus's
- 28:14teachings, the golden. Rule the most important tenet in
- 28:18Christian thought. You do not have to be a
- 28:19Christian in order to reap the benefits of a.
- 28:23Christian LED social order. And that includes pluralism.
- 28:28Because people express their. Religions differently, even I as
- 28:32a urantia. Book reader should be allowed.
- 28:35To express my my faith in the Urantia book and the and the
- 28:40teachings and I am for the most part in this society that would
- 28:43not be true if I went to. Saudi Arabia or Qatar?
- 28:48Or or even China if I had the Urantia book and they knew what?
- 28:52It was. I'd be.
- 28:53I'd either be kicked out or I'd be.
- 28:55Imprisoned Christianity promotes the the honoring of parents and
- 29:00elders, a principle which ensures wisdom of experience
- 29:05from and it passes it on from generation to generation that
- 29:08those are Christian principles and those are Urantian principle
- 29:12principles. The 10 commandments come from
- 29:15spiritual enlightenment and only in a moral.
- 29:19Society would reject. Them and that's why we're seeing
- 29:22the pushback. Today and for all these.
- 29:26Reasons and any and many more. Many, many of the tenets of
- 29:29Western civilization are rooted in four great influences.
- 29:33The Hebrew faith Greek. Philosophy rooted in morality,
- 29:37being a good citizen, Roman law. Which provides order.
- 29:42Christian Teachings. Which leads to service.
- 29:45And declares the dignity of the human spirit in the modern age
- 29:50and after almost 5000 years of evolutionary growth, it becomes
- 29:54apparent that. Society that serves.
- 29:56In the interest. Of the people.
- 29:58The most effectively are rooted in Christian thought.
- 30:03The lesson here is if you want. To have the best possible.
- 30:06Society adopting Christian principles.
- 30:09Offers you the. Best chance of success?
- 30:12It's not even a matter of faith, it's a matter of evidence.
- 30:16A simple observation is made that societies.
- 30:19That are the least. Christian suffer the most
- 30:22problems and then you ask well. Why is why is the West?
- 30:28Going through looks like birth pangs right now.
- 30:31Why is the West crumbling? Well, it's because our culture
- 30:35is. Becoming less Christian and more
- 30:38materialistic. Less people identify.
- 30:42As being Christian in western society that at any time in the
- 30:45last 300 years. Suicide levels are up.
- 30:50Every developed country if you look at them now.
- 30:53Has the highest level of suicide ever.
- 30:59I also want to make the connective tissue between the
- 31:01Urantia book and Christianity because of.
- 31:04All of the world. Religions.
- 31:06The one that the Urantia book refers to the most and runs
- 31:10parallel 2. And traces its roots back
- 31:14through. The New and the Old Testament.
- 31:18So just as Christ was the. Revelation that spawned the
- 31:21Christian teachings If if the Urantia book is claiming to be
- 31:27an epical revelation, it is connecting itself.
- 31:31To the. Previous revelations, that being
- 31:33Christ, that being. Melchizedek, who taught Abraham,
- 31:37the father of the Hebrew faith or the Jewish faith, back to
- 31:41the. Days of Adam and Eve, which
- 31:42itself finds it. It's story.
- 31:45Woven into the Old and New Testament and is referred.
- 31:49To by the prophets. Going back even before that to
- 31:52the days of Dalmatia and the beginnings of civilization, way
- 31:57back when, when there were giants in those days.
- 32:01Again, a reference in the Bible that connects itself.
- 32:05To the first epical. Revelation, which was the
- 32:09arrival of the 100. I always like to remind myself
- 32:13that ask the average person, where did the name Lake Van come
- 32:18from? Go on, look, look at it on
- 32:21Chachi PT, there's the connective tissue.
- 32:25So the Urantia book, in my opinion, was made.
- 32:27For people who are rooted in. Christian thought, just like the
- 32:32New Testament, connected. Itself to the old.
- 32:36Testament as a continuation of the revelatory story, and so
- 32:41here. We are and so.
- 32:42I think that because. Of that we will see that.
- 32:45Eventually, Christians will pick up the Urantia book and they'll.
- 32:50Understand that this is. This is how.
- 32:52Christianity can. Thrive because of all.
- 32:55The things that we've talked about in this episode, and I
- 32:58hope I haven't said too much, it's not my intention to say too
- 33:01much. They say you.
- 33:03Should leave the audience wanting more.
- 33:05So let's, let's hope. I can achieve that.
- 33:08Maybe I'll achieve. It with really.
- 33:09Good music from David Dinger. It's a good start.
- 33:15I hope you've enjoyed this episode.
- 33:16I know we've. Covered a lot.
