- 0:02Speaker 1: Raise your Friday baby, Let's do it, Todd Father, Kratz Braun,
- 0:06Speaker 1: here we go. Okay, first minute, I want you to
- 0:09Speaker 1: give me a rundown of the topic of the month,
- 0:13Speaker 1: Todd Father. I think it's a really good question for
- 0:15Speaker 1: the chat to kick around to. And I'll pose it
- 0:17Speaker 1: this way and then I'll let you take it away
- 0:19Speaker 1: before we get to the news with Mendoza and all that.
- 0:23Speaker 1: What is the appropriate age where it's okay for coaches
- 0:28Speaker 1: to assist with signs stealing in baseball?
- 0:32Speaker 2: Crazy?
- 0:33Speaker 3: This is hard because the game has evolved and the
- 0:35Speaker 3: game has changed. Listen, I think little league is out
- 0:41Speaker 3: of the question. I don't think you should do that unless, uh,
- 0:46Speaker 3: you know, one of those opportunities, not during regular season games,
- 0:49Speaker 3: like once you get into All Stars. If the kids
- 0:51Speaker 3: got his legs wide open and you could see the signs,
- 0:55Speaker 3: I think it's a different story. I think it does
- 0:57Speaker 3: get thrown out the door if you're in Little League
- 0:59Speaker 3: and you got some kids that's never caught before, And
- 1:02Speaker 3: I think that's that would be a problem for me. Cratzy,
- 1:05Speaker 3: I'm not sure on your length. I mean, I've seen
- 1:07Speaker 3: it done too many times. You see kids at second
- 1:09Speaker 3: base given signs. If that's the case, then you got
- 1:12Speaker 3: to switch them up. But you know, coaches given signs
- 1:15Speaker 3: during regular games like that, I don't know. I think
- 1:19Speaker 3: that's out the window a little bit. But if it's
- 1:21Speaker 3: you know, championship games, you know, and there's an opportunity
- 1:24Speaker 3: to see something, I mean, that's just playing the game,
- 1:26Speaker 3: right Cratzy.
- 1:28Speaker 4: I would say in high school that's when it's and
- 1:31Speaker 4: you do have to practice it.
- 1:32Speaker 5: That's the part.
- 1:33Speaker 4: Like if you get it in high school and then
- 1:35Speaker 4: all of a sudden it's just a championship game and
- 1:36Speaker 4: you can and you you know, you know what pitch
- 1:38Speaker 4: is coming, like, well we've never worked on this. Coach,
- 1:43Speaker 4: you know, put your kids in a situation to succeed
- 1:46Speaker 4: little league, that ain't it.
- 1:48Speaker 5: Jeff Clement, who was a.
- 1:50Speaker 4: Big leaguer with the Mariners number four pick overall, said
- 1:55Speaker 4: the one time he struck out in little league, I
- 1:57Speaker 4: think it was like one or two times he ever
- 1:59Speaker 4: struck out little his dad had the signs, and his
- 2:03Speaker 4: dad gave him the wrong sign and he swung and
- 2:04Speaker 4: miss and that was it.
- 2:06Speaker 5: That was it.
- 2:07Speaker 4: I don't know if they made it to way Sport,
- 2:08Speaker 4: if it was like the regionals or whatever, but that
- 2:11Speaker 4: it was a high school little league legend.
- 2:13Speaker 5: So if Jeff Clement says, it's fine, I'm all aboard Todd.
- 2:18Speaker 1: That was happening to you in what age group was
- 2:21Speaker 1: the ball that you were coaching? And then what did
- 2:25Speaker 1: the coach say to you about how he was in
- 2:28Speaker 1: high school?
- 2:32Speaker 3: Listen, it happened in a twelve year old game. You
- 2:36Speaker 3: know there was a little argument. Yeah, it was a
- 2:38Speaker 3: little argument that happened, but you know, you still don't
- 2:42Speaker 3: know how they're getting it. I changed the signs up.
- 2:46Speaker 3: Was he getting from the picture? Was he getting it
- 2:48Speaker 3: from there? You know, there was a little talk about
- 2:50Speaker 3: the whole situation. And you see that you see the
- 2:53Speaker 3: craziest things happen at these games. Then you see some
- 2:56Speaker 3: people that just say the craziest things and you just
- 2:59Speaker 3: get a laugh, you know, and it's just like imagine
- 3:02Speaker 3: going to their profession that they used to do and
- 3:04Speaker 3: talking to them like that, you know, when they're behind
- 3:07Speaker 3: a desk or whatever they're doing.
- 3:08Speaker 2: You know, just chirping them.
- 3:11Speaker 3: That's what I think about, Like I want to go
- 3:13Speaker 3: to that person's real job and just be in their
- 3:16Speaker 3: ear the whole time. You know what I mean, like,
- 3:19Speaker 3: just yeappen. But that's part of the game, man, That's
- 3:22Speaker 3: part of the game. And guess what they're learning. These
- 3:24Speaker 3: kids are learning more at a young age. It's it's
- 3:28Speaker 3: gonna happen more even when they get older. Parents chirping,
- 3:32Speaker 3: coaches chirping, be ready for it. And I guess the
- 3:35Speaker 3: more they learn it now, they'll be ready for it
- 3:37Speaker 3: when they get older.
- 3:38Speaker 4: Then they learn how you react. They learn how you react,
- 3:41Speaker 4: and that's that's what coaches are for, to bring these
- 3:44Speaker 4: kids up, bring them through so that when it happens
- 3:46Speaker 4: to them, they don't freak out. Like some five foot
- 3:49Speaker 4: four little midget coach would freak out because you know
- 3:52Speaker 4: he didn't get a single in the JV State All
- 3:55Speaker 4: Star Game.
- 3:57Speaker 2: I mean you probably see it more in high school. Cratzy,
- 3:59Speaker 2: I would have.
- 4:00Speaker 4: No, it's definitely more. I mean they definitely you know.
- 4:03Speaker 4: But if the if the boys, if the boys are
- 4:05Speaker 4: like relaying signs from second, absolutely you got to change
- 4:10Speaker 4: it up.
- 4:10Speaker 5: That's not me.
- 4:11Speaker 4: I'm not in there, Like I don't have a video
- 4:13Speaker 4: camera in center field stealing signs from Like we're not crazy,
- 4:17Speaker 4: Like this is about just having fun and competition for
- 4:20Speaker 4: the boys.
- 4:21Speaker 1: You guys don't understand when a coach gets to go
- 4:23Speaker 1: home to his wife and say, honey, I just said
- 4:27Speaker 1: some mean words to Todd Fraser.
- 4:29Speaker 6: I feel so about it.
- 4:31Speaker 2: God, they get you.
- 4:35Speaker 3: They'll get under your skin, bro, I'm telling you, and
- 4:37Speaker 3: they bring that trophy home. I tell my kids it's
- 4:40Speaker 3: not about listen. I'd be lying to you if it
- 4:42Speaker 3: wasn't about winning. I don't care what anybody says when
- 4:45Speaker 3: it comes to competitive sports.
- 4:47Speaker 2: Yeah, you want to win.
- 4:49Speaker 3: And if you say that we just want to go
- 4:51Speaker 3: out there and compete, you're lying to yourself. But it's
- 4:54Speaker 3: not the end all be all, is what I'm saying everybody.
- 4:56Speaker 3: You don't always need a trophy. Did you learn something
- 4:59Speaker 3: in that game? Could you've done something better? How could
- 5:01Speaker 3: you've helped your team out? Was my body language great?
- 5:05Speaker 3: Did I make the pitch I was supposed to throw
- 5:07Speaker 3: on the two count when the kid hit the RBI double?
- 5:09Speaker 3: Whatever it is. Then we work on it the next
- 5:12Speaker 3: week and hopefully we get better from there. That's the
- 5:14Speaker 3: way I look at it.
- 5:16Speaker 5: Yep mm hmm.
- 5:18Speaker 6: I could talk about this stuff for hours. I'm not
- 5:20Speaker 6: even kidding.
- 5:20Speaker 2: I love it. We got to get Ken Golden on here.
- 5:23Speaker 2: Next we'll get him back.
- 5:24Speaker 1: On text them, We'll do whatever. The next phraser Friday is,
- 5:28Speaker 1: let's let's run it next week. Okay, let's talk about
- 5:31Speaker 1: the team that gets talked about honestly too much.
- 5:35Speaker 6: Charge that we are charging the mound.
- 5:38Speaker 1: And for some of you that are sick of hearing
- 5:40Speaker 1: us talk about the Mets, then tell them to stop
- 5:43Speaker 1: making themselves newsworthy. You know, there was actually a time
- 5:46Speaker 1: period with this show where I felt like Mets fans
- 5:48Speaker 1: would write in and be like, you're not talking about
- 5:50Speaker 1: us enough. It wasn't this year, it was last year.
- 5:52Speaker 1: But yeah, now we're not doing that. So let's go
- 5:55Speaker 1: over the latest news that broke us before the show.
- 5:58Speaker 1: And yes it is news because Alex Cora and Rob
- 6:01Speaker 1: Thompson were both fired in the past week, and for
- 6:05Speaker 1: many people following the Mets, you would think there might
- 6:08Speaker 1: be a change there too. They're ten and twenty one,
- 6:10Speaker 1: they just lost a series to the Nationals. They just
- 6:12Speaker 1: had I would say, a disaster nightmare homestand that they
- 6:15Speaker 1: thought was going to be an uptick for them against
- 6:19Speaker 1: what looked at what was looked at as weaker competition.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Then they had been facing prior no, no, no, Kratz
- 6:25Speaker 1: was not in them. Then they had been facing prior
- 6:28Speaker 1: exclusive from Anthony Tacomo. The Mets are backing Carla Smandeza
- 6:31Speaker 1: despite the ten and twenty one start. They don't view
- 6:35Speaker 1: him as the problem. They intend, they do not intend
- 6:37Speaker 1: to make a change. So that is news because there
- 6:41Speaker 1: are some people that are thinking, basically on a game
- 6:43Speaker 1: by game basis, Todfather that Mendy might be gone. And
- 6:47Speaker 1: yesterday Luke Weaver gives up the big homer to CJ.
- 6:50Speaker 6: Abrams.
- 6:50Speaker 1: They lose another one, and they drop a series to
- 6:52Speaker 1: the Nationals, and you know, not much is looking up
- 6:55Speaker 1: for them. Luis Robert hits the Shelflindor's already hurt, the
- 6:58Speaker 1: rotations starting to get really sloppy.
- 7:01Speaker 6: So what do you think about this decision?
- 7:04Speaker 1: And what do you think about them finally kind of
- 7:06Speaker 1: delivering a message, because I do think that it's really
- 7:09Speaker 1: tough for the whole team plus the manager, to be
- 7:11Speaker 1: walking on eggshells not knowing anything. So they did, now
- 7:14Speaker 1: tell him you're good. I don't know how long, but
- 7:17Speaker 1: you're good for now.
- 7:18Speaker 3: So it was in quotes that it said, it's not
- 7:20Speaker 3: a managerial problem. I mean, I assume that was from Colin.
- 7:26Speaker 6: Probably not.
- 7:26Speaker 1: I'll get it for you while you're talking, guys.
- 7:30Speaker 2: I don't. I don't want to.
- 7:31Speaker 3: I don't want to say something out of place, whoever
- 7:33Speaker 3: it was from. Like, let's take that quote right there.
- 7:35Speaker 3: It's not a managerial problem. You don't hear that very
- 7:39Speaker 3: often nowadays because first blame always goes to the manager.
- 7:43Speaker 3: And listen, managers are to blame, for sure, but guess
- 7:47Speaker 3: what the product is the players, And they got to play,
- 7:50Speaker 3: and they got to perform, and they got to act
- 7:53Speaker 3: like they want to be there, and they got to
- 7:54Speaker 3: want to play the game and win. And I'm not
- 7:57Speaker 3: saying that's not what they're doing, but you see the
- 7:59Speaker 3: antics some times, you see you know, situational hitting stuff's
- 8:03Speaker 3: not getting done. They're ten and twenty one. Yeah, of
- 8:06Speaker 3: course it's not the manager all time. You know, most
- 8:09Speaker 3: managers don't even get to pick their lineup. So yeah,
- 8:12Speaker 3: of course it's not the manager of all time. But
- 8:16Speaker 3: there's part of it that is. But I do believe,
- 8:19Speaker 3: and I agree with them, it's the players.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Man.
- 8:21Speaker 3: You can blame injuries all you want. Everybody gets injured,
- 8:24Speaker 3: but you're playing against teams that you're supposed to win,
- 8:27Speaker 3: supposed to beat. You got one Soto on your squad man,
- 8:30Speaker 3: you got Lindor, You brought in some new products that
- 8:34Speaker 3: aren't just you know, they'll do good one day and
- 8:36Speaker 3: not another. You went on a monster losing streak. All
- 8:41Speaker 3: that plays in the factor. And my last point, yeah,
- 8:44Speaker 3: it's not the manager's problem. Ten and twenty one. Well,
- 8:47Speaker 3: let's see in two weeks where they're at and next thing,
- 8:49Speaker 3: you know, something's got to give, right, That's how it
- 8:52Speaker 3: usually goes. And I give credit to one guy, the Melendez, MJ.
- 8:55Speaker 2: Melendez. I love watching this kid play. He hits the ball.
- 8:59Speaker 3: Well, give him credit all day. He's going out there
- 9:02Speaker 3: not worrying about the outside noise and just playing. Kudos
- 9:05Speaker 3: to him. Man, I like this young man playing this game.
- 9:08Speaker 1: And just a quick note, it was David Stearns who
- 9:12Speaker 1: said they do not view this as a manager problem
- 9:15Speaker 1: and don't intend to make a change. That's the president
- 9:18Speaker 1: Baseball Operations for the Mets.
- 9:22Speaker 4: So basically, what you're saying is exactly what I said
- 9:24Speaker 4: about the Red Sox firing Alex Kora, and exactly what
- 9:28Speaker 4: I said about the Phillies firing Rob Thompson, even to
- 9:31Speaker 4: the point where John Middleton essentially said as much. He
- 9:35Speaker 4: was crying when they had to let him go. Rarely
- 9:38Speaker 4: is it the manager's fault. You want to see an
- 9:40Speaker 4: example of a big league manager maybe not making a
- 9:43Speaker 4: right choice and his team is in the dumps, like
- 9:47Speaker 4: the Giants. They're not scoring runs, okay, whatever, they're not
- 9:50Speaker 4: scoring runs, But you let a writy in to face
- 9:54Speaker 4: Kyle Schwarber to tie the ball game up. Like now,
- 9:58Speaker 4: we're talking about like decisions, like decisions to face a lefty,
- 10:03Speaker 4: decisions to throw with two open bases to a guy
- 10:07Speaker 4: who's already three for three and he's a triple short
- 10:11Speaker 4: of the cycle. You like, that's like maybe not like
- 10:16Speaker 4: seeing the game. Rob Thompson wasn't doing anything like that,
- 10:20Speaker 4: shouldn't have been fired. To me, Mendy's not doing anything
- 10:23Speaker 4: like that. How many times has Mendy forgotten the outs
- 10:25Speaker 4: when he's played shortstop for the Mets? How many times
- 10:28Speaker 4: has Mendy gone to field a ground ball instead of
- 10:33Speaker 4: covering second base? And I know I'm banging the drum
- 10:37Speaker 4: with Lindor here, but like he's supposed to be one
- 10:42Speaker 4: of the guys in the clubhouse that's leading that team.
- 10:45Speaker 4: And I did see when they scored the other day
- 10:47Speaker 4: yesterday he was out on the bench. Same couldn't be said.
- 10:51Speaker 4: Juan Soto said he really didn't talk to his teammates
- 10:53Speaker 4: much when he was hurt. So am I saying there's
- 10:56Speaker 4: an issue in the clubhouse. I don't know, But am
- 11:00Speaker 4: I saying any of this stuff that's going on, any
- 11:03Speaker 4: of the fact that Devin Williams didn't really do real
- 11:08Speaker 4: well in New York when he was at the Yankees. Yes,
- 11:11Speaker 4: he turned it around towards the end, but you went
- 11:14Speaker 4: and made those signings and now you're kind of dealing
- 11:18Speaker 4: with it like you had good players in Nemo. You
- 11:21Speaker 4: had good players in Pete Alonzo. You went and said,
- 11:25Speaker 4: you know what, we're trading Nemo. We're going for defense
- 11:29Speaker 4: with Simeon's not working out right now. Jorge Polanco didn't
- 11:33Speaker 4: look great when he was playing, and now he's hurt.
- 11:37Speaker 4: And you went and got bobashett As kind of a
- 11:40Speaker 4: oh crap, we didn't get Tucker, so we got a
- 11:42Speaker 4: quick go get somebody that was gonna go to the Phillies.
- 11:46Speaker 4: And so you say you kind of made your bed
- 11:50Speaker 4: and you got to sleep in it. But all this
- 11:52Speaker 4: is not Mendy's fault to me, and I'm biased because
- 11:55Speaker 4: I really like Mendy, I really like Rob Thompson, I
- 11:58Speaker 4: really like Alex Cora.
- 11:59Speaker 5: But it's it's not their fault.
- 12:00Speaker 4: The players have to play better and maybe a little
- 12:03Speaker 4: bit more hungry. And I love that Todd brought this up.
- 12:05Speaker 4: I know I've been long here, but MJ. Melendez didn't
- 12:09Speaker 4: have a guaranteed big league job like he was with
- 12:13Speaker 4: the Royals before. Now he came over here, he's got
- 12:16Speaker 4: to reestablish himself. Sometimes, re establishing yourself being hungry, like
- 12:21Speaker 4: Todd said, maybe that gets the most out of players.
- 12:25Speaker 4: So maybe there's a little bit of comfort there firing men.
- 12:28Speaker 4: He ain't gonna make it worse, ain't gonna make it better.
- 12:31Speaker 4: Like you gotta make sure the players are ready to
- 12:33Speaker 4: play every single day, and right now, that's aying doing it.
- 12:38Speaker 1: Here's what happens too, when you're not playing well, Fans
- 12:43Speaker 1: will start to pick out like a minuscule move in
- 12:47Speaker 1: a game and be like, see if he didn't press
- 12:50Speaker 1: this button at this time, then we're twenty one to
- 12:52Speaker 1: ten right now, it's so tired, dude. Like the amount
- 12:56Speaker 1: of stuff I saw from last night's game, acting as
- 12:59Speaker 1: if it's his fault is embarrassing.
- 13:01Speaker 6: That the reason that the okay.
- 13:03Speaker 2: You gotta Bay are not.
- 13:06Speaker 1: They got they got four runs. They should win that
- 13:10Speaker 1: game every time. But why is he pitching Todd? Why
- 13:14Speaker 1: is he pitching in that spot?
- 13:15Speaker 4: Huh?
- 13:16Speaker 2: But that's the nature of where we're from here in
- 13:18Speaker 2: the Northeast.
- 13:19Speaker 3: There's there's always when you're losing, there's an excuse or
- 13:23Speaker 3: a problem, and there they always find one.
- 13:26Speaker 2: Why did you do this? Why do that? That's just
- 13:28Speaker 2: it's it's it's part of who we are. I don't know,
- 13:31Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 13:32Speaker 3: That's just the way this is when it comes to
- 13:34Speaker 3: New York area and Philadelphia area sports. That's just the
- 13:38Speaker 3: way we see it. And it's hard because when you're
- 13:41Speaker 3: part of it. Sorry Scott, I know I interrupt you.
- 13:44Speaker 3: But when you're when you're part of it and you've
- 13:47Speaker 3: been through it, you're like, you gotta be kidding me,
- 13:50Speaker 3: this is what's gonna happen. But when you've never been
- 13:52Speaker 3: through it and you don't understand fully all of what
- 13:55Speaker 3: goes on in a baseball game, and a team and
- 13:57Speaker 3: everything else. Yeah, it's easy to go to the bar
- 14:00Speaker 3: the next day or the barbershopping. Can you believe this
- 14:02Speaker 3: guy they put him in? He threw this pitch. Well,
- 14:05Speaker 3: you know how hard it is that pitch. So that's why,
- 14:09Speaker 3: that's why we're all professionals, you know, and everybody's a
- 14:12Speaker 3: professional in their own profession per se.
- 14:15Speaker 4: I would say, I would say, just specifically the Luke
- 14:18Speaker 4: Weaver comment. I get it, like what you know, Oh yeah,
- 14:22Speaker 4: why are they putting this guy in? Please, don't have
- 14:25Speaker 4: a reason for why a team loses without what you
- 14:29Speaker 4: would have done in that situation. Who you would have
- 14:32Speaker 4: gone to. Because maybe Mendy even thinks the same way. Man,
- 14:37Speaker 4: Luke Weaver's not pitching real well. But you know what
- 14:39Speaker 4: I gotta do. I gotta use somebody. I got to
- 14:42Speaker 4: back my guys. I got to be able to say, hey,
- 14:45Speaker 4: you know what, Luke Weaver's not going well, we need
- 14:48Speaker 4: you to start stepping up. We need you to be
- 14:51Speaker 4: that guy that's gonna lock down the seventh eighth inning.
- 14:54Speaker 4: Possibly they went and got Luke Weaver because he filled
- 14:57Speaker 4: in as a closer for the Yankees when weren't going well.
- 15:00Speaker 5: With Clay Holmes. So like Mendy's thinking the same thing.
- 15:04Speaker 4: Mendy's not oblivious because I know Mendy, he is an
- 15:08Speaker 4: incredible baseball mind. He understands, he sees what's happening on
- 15:11Speaker 4: the field, not like all managers. Not all managers see
- 15:14Speaker 4: what's happening on the field. Some of their coaches have
- 15:16Speaker 4: to see what's happening on the field and tell them
- 15:18Speaker 4: what's happening.
- 15:19Speaker 5: He sees it. He has to.
- 15:22Speaker 4: He has to try to get the most out of
- 15:24Speaker 4: his twenty six man roster that he has on a
- 15:27Speaker 4: day in and day out basis. And you know what,
- 15:30Speaker 4: if Luke Weaver's not in a high leverage we need
- 15:32Speaker 4: to win this game, keep this lead. The Mets are
- 15:35Speaker 4: more cooked than their ten and twenty one record, because
- 15:38Speaker 4: who are you going to.
- 15:45Speaker 1: I mean, I saw like, oh, they should have Weaver
- 15:47Speaker 1: in the seventh, and then Raley should have pitched in
- 15:50Speaker 1: the eighth.
- 15:53Speaker 4: So you want so you want Weaver to face a
- 15:57Speaker 4: different part, Like he's not just guessing who is gonna
- 16:01Speaker 4: go in.
- 16:03Speaker 5: They don't know if they're gonna do well, but.
- 16:05Speaker 4: They're saying this is where he best slides into their lineup.
- 16:10Speaker 4: To be able to get the biggest outs. We talked
- 16:12Speaker 4: about closing yesterday, and what that animal is closing is
- 16:16Speaker 4: a different animal. I don't care what part of the lineup
- 16:18Speaker 4: you're at. It is a different mindset. We hit on
- 16:22Speaker 4: it yesterday. You gotta have, you gotta have, you know,
- 16:27Speaker 4: a memory of a goldfish like short memory. Just get
- 16:31Speaker 4: get over it and get back at it, or else
- 16:35Speaker 4: the game will eat you alive. And not everybody can
- 16:37Speaker 4: close games, but teams think that they can. And I
- 16:41Speaker 4: commend the Mets saying, oh yeah, we need a closer.
- 16:46Speaker 4: They kind of thought Devin Williams wasn't gonna be wasn't
- 16:49Speaker 4: gonna be their closer. I think they thought Edwin was
- 16:51Speaker 4: gonna come back, and they were building a vaunted bullpen,
- 16:55Speaker 4: and now all of a sudden, maybe Devin Williams is
- 16:58Speaker 4: in that. Like if I were to ask David Stearns
- 17:00Speaker 4: a question, I would say, it's circulated that you wanted
- 17:04Speaker 4: to bring Edwin Diaz back with who's hurt right now?
- 17:07Speaker 4: I get that, But were you looking at Devin Williams
- 17:11Speaker 4: as more of a set up guy? Now all of
- 17:13Speaker 4: a sudden, he's not as nervous If you're worried about
- 17:15Speaker 4: him being nervous in New York. He can be that
- 17:17Speaker 4: setup guy in New York and Edwin who has locked
- 17:20Speaker 4: down the ninth inning in in Queens for a long time.
- 17:26Speaker 4: He can stay in that role. Now everybody shifts to
- 17:29Speaker 4: it a little bit tougher.
- 17:30Speaker 6: Role top father.
- 17:33Speaker 1: All week when we were running some of the Seaki
- 17:36Speaker 1: kads on some of the other shows, we heard a
- 17:38Speaker 1: little riff from you. Remember when we did it last
- 17:41Speaker 1: week and we were just going over it, and you
- 17:43Speaker 1: did a little where are you're gonna go? And you
- 17:44Speaker 1: created a jingle for them I'm trying to.
- 17:50Speaker 6: All you did was say the name Geek there it is.
- 17:53Speaker 2: Oh right, I got you, I got you, I got.
- 17:55Speaker 5: More majestic, more like the song of our generation.
- 17:59Speaker 2: Yeah, just like good point. Yeah, I get my royalties
- 18:02Speaker 2: on that, but not yet.
- 18:05Speaker 6: Stay tuned.
- 18:06Speaker 1: They will eventually, but gives us an opportunity to just
- 18:09Speaker 1: let everyone know, Yeah, if you want to hit a
- 18:11Speaker 1: game this weekend, code is still there for you if
- 18:13Speaker 1: you haven't used it. Territory one zero for ten percent
- 18:16Speaker 1: off tickets. And also if there's any matchups you're looking
- 18:19Speaker 1: forward to, we'll get to some of them later on.
- 18:21Speaker 1: But there's anything this weekend that looks like nice and
- 18:23Speaker 1: juicy for you guys in terms of a series. I mean,
- 18:26Speaker 1: this could be your chance Todd father for a minute,
- 18:28Speaker 1: since refast for it in a super chat about what
- 18:31Speaker 1: you're thinking about the Yanks right now going up against Baltimore.
- 18:34Speaker 1: Baltimore's fifteen and sixteen. So they've been fine. See to me,
- 18:37Speaker 1: that's a team where like they have not hit their
- 18:39Speaker 1: stride at all.
- 18:40Speaker 6: It's fine.
- 18:41Speaker 1: But if you hang around, if you're fifteen and sixteen,
- 18:43Speaker 1: that's fine. Like, this is a team that I think
- 18:45Speaker 1: could win seven eight games in a row at some point.
- 18:47Speaker 1: So you know, there's still a lot I think to
- 18:50Speaker 1: be determined with Baltimore until with some guys coming back
- 18:53Speaker 1: and their rotation is much less settled than what the
- 18:55Speaker 1: Yankees is right now.
- 18:57Speaker 6: But your thoughts on those two matching up this weekend.
- 19:00Speaker 3: Yeah, I think this is gonna be. It's a new month.
- 19:03Speaker 3: I think everybody's kind of recharging up. All right, let's
- 19:06Speaker 3: put everything in the past. You know, I remember when
- 19:09Speaker 3: the first day each month came around when I was playing.
- 19:12Speaker 2: I'm like, all right, forget about it.
- 19:14Speaker 3: Whether it was good in bed and now it's time
- 19:16Speaker 3: to move forward into It's gonna be man, he's probably
- 19:19Speaker 3: the best meme of all time with justin Timberlake. But yes,
- 19:24Speaker 3: it may one time to revive, time to replenish, Come
- 19:29Speaker 3: to the ballpark, start all over. Who cares? Start your
- 19:33Speaker 3: month here? Let's see who's gonna come out victorious. I
- 19:37Speaker 3: can I can see the Orioles coming out hot, maybe
- 19:39Speaker 3: like a ten and two, ten and four kind of
- 19:41Speaker 3: deal their first fourteen to fifteen games and go from there.
- 19:46Speaker 3: So it's I can see the Blue Jays doing it.
- 19:49Speaker 3: They're getting hot too, like this Al East. Eventually he's
- 19:52Speaker 3: gonna get real sticky and we'll see, you know who
- 19:55Speaker 3: who comes out on top of Yankee's got two dogs
- 19:57Speaker 3: that are coming back pretty soon and ro Don and Garrick.
- 20:00Speaker 3: So a lot of decisions to be made with the Yanks.
- 20:03Speaker 3: If they keep on cruising and keep on mingling together,
- 20:05Speaker 3: they're going to be just fine and confirmed.
- 20:08Speaker 6: Yeah, that is one of the best memes of all time.
- 20:12Speaker 1: And of course, the code one More Time Territory one
- 20:15Speaker 1: zero temper sent off. Any tickets with that promo code,
- 20:18Speaker 1: make sure you click the link in the description to
- 20:19Speaker 1: download the app and have the code automatically added to
- 20:21Speaker 1: your count so you can use it later.
- 20:23Speaker 6: It's seeky.
- 20:26Speaker 1: It is, in fact May. Welcome to May, Major League Baseball.
- 20:30Speaker 1: And let's do some predictions. So Kratz, I'm gonna let
- 20:33Speaker 1: you run through your list first of what you expect
- 20:36Speaker 1: to happen, and you can throw in a bold take
- 20:38Speaker 1: or two and go down the line for us, what
- 20:40Speaker 1: did you select?
- 20:42Speaker 4: Hard It's hard to select a best surprise for May
- 20:45Speaker 4: because I think they're already doing it. I think my
- 20:48Speaker 4: best surprise is the Reds. I just don't think everybody
- 20:51Speaker 4: realizes what the Reds are you talk about? Is there
- 20:55Speaker 4: room for improvement? I don't think Hunter Green's coming back
- 20:58Speaker 4: in May. But if he, you know, even if when
- 21:01Speaker 4: he starts getting closer, that's another improvement on the pitching staff.
- 21:04Speaker 4: Lodolo will be back in May. This team hasn't even
- 21:07Speaker 4: really hit as a team. Yes, Scott's Scott's best friend,
- 21:13Speaker 4: Ellie De la Cruz and Sal Stewart are killing it.
- 21:17Speaker 5: But now you start seeing Spencer Steer.
- 21:19Speaker 4: I think I'm gonna keep i'ma I'm gonna keep saying
- 21:22Speaker 4: Matty McClain's gonna do awesome. So the Reds are gonna
- 21:25Speaker 4: be my surprise. At the end of May, people will
- 21:26Speaker 4: be like whoa okay in a good NL Central. My
- 21:30Speaker 4: biggest disappointment is going to be the Twins. I just
- 21:32Speaker 4: think that their starting rotation is gonna start being put
- 21:36Speaker 4: in spots because their bullpen is no no good, So
- 21:41Speaker 4: they are going to, you know, start to maybe come
- 21:45Speaker 4: back down to Earth, even though they're I think fourteen
- 21:48Speaker 4: and eighteen or something. I just think when we look
- 21:50Speaker 4: up at the end of the May, they're they're gonna
- 21:53Speaker 4: be sellar dwellers if if the Royals ever figure out
- 21:56Speaker 4: anything and maybe pass them. Best moment from May is
- 21:59Speaker 4: gonna be Cam Schlittler's No Hitter. I think hitters love
- 22:04Speaker 4: warm weather. I feel like Cam Schlitzler hasn't even unlocked
- 22:08Speaker 4: what he can do yet, and he's going so deep
- 22:10Speaker 4: into games No Hitter locking it down for Cam Schlitzler
- 22:14Speaker 4: Aaron Judge Boring Player of the Month because I think
- 22:19Speaker 4: Jordan's gonna win it for April and Judge is just like,
- 22:23Speaker 4: oh yeah, I had a pretty decent April too, but
- 22:25Speaker 4: I guess I gotta do more in May and then
- 22:27Speaker 4: with my Pitcher of the Month and Rookie of the
- 22:29Speaker 4: Month is Nolan McLean. I think somebody as competitive and
- 22:33Speaker 4: athletic as Nolan McLean is sees his team losing and
- 22:37Speaker 4: is gonna start rounding, not just in de form, like
- 22:40Speaker 4: he hasn't even really pitched that much in his career,
- 22:42Speaker 4: but he's gonna round into form in the sense of
- 22:45Speaker 4: I'm gonna be the guy. It's gonna be me, it's
- 22:48Speaker 4: gonna be freddie p. I see what Clay Holmes is doing,
- 22:52Speaker 4: but I have the ability to take this team when
- 22:54Speaker 4: I pitch to the next level. I don't think the
- 22:56Speaker 4: Mets are gonna be that much better. I think Nolan
- 22:58Speaker 4: McLean is gonna have as may watching his stuff and
- 23:02Speaker 4: watching how he can pitch on some nights when he
- 23:04Speaker 4: doesn't have one of his pitches, like that's when you
- 23:07Speaker 4: start looking at guys and you're like, WHOA, that's that's different.
- 23:11Speaker 6: I love it.
- 23:12Speaker 2: I love it, Christy, I love that.
- 23:14Speaker 3: I gotta be honest, I don't agree with you on
- 23:16Speaker 3: a lot of things, but that was that was really good.
- 23:19Speaker 1: You put some thought to that, And can I do
- 23:22Speaker 1: one comment on the part that I thought really stood
- 23:25Speaker 1: out to me? Right at the jump is talking as
- 23:28Speaker 1: much as we can about the Reds. And the only
- 23:30Speaker 1: thing I'm going to throw out here for May that
- 23:32Speaker 1: I throw out all the time before Todd Feather does
- 23:35Speaker 1: his list, is that I think run differential is one
- 23:38Speaker 1: of the dumbest, laziest stats in the game.
- 23:41Speaker 6: We have so many brilliant minds.
- 23:43Speaker 1: We basically have guys that overthink things and girls that
- 23:46Speaker 1: overthink things in front offices that are looking at the
- 23:48Speaker 1: game like a stock market. And then often I'll hear
- 23:51Speaker 1: smart people just be like, well they're Pythagorean record based
- 23:54Speaker 1: on their run differential. I'm like, that's it. You're going
- 23:56Speaker 1: up for run differential. The Cincinnati Reds are twenty and eleven.
- 23:59Speaker 1: They're run differential minus three. They've been winning some tight games.
- 24:02Speaker 1: Why because their bullpen's freaking fire and this this, this happens.
- 24:07Speaker 1: And yes, does the offense need to pick it up
- 24:09Speaker 1: a little bit and provide some support for Sal and
- 24:11Speaker 1: for Ellie. Yes, But to me, Kratz, I don't think
- 24:14Speaker 1: I look at their record and say, you know what,
- 24:16Speaker 1: this has been a farce. This ain't true. The minus
- 24:19Speaker 1: three is not true. I mean, the Cops are plus
- 24:21Speaker 1: thirty five. The Brewers are plus thirty eight. Yeah, watch
- 24:23Speaker 1: the Reds games. You're not watching every game being like, ah,
- 24:26Speaker 1: they should lose this game. You're like, nah, they're up
- 24:28Speaker 1: by a runner two and here comes the lights out
- 24:30Speaker 1: bullpen guy or two and the game's over.
- 24:33Speaker 4: Don't cherry pick certain games. Watch how they win certain games.
- 24:39Speaker 4: They were facing Sandy al Contra, and I know this
- 24:41Speaker 4: is cherry picking a certain game. He was dominant. You
- 24:44Speaker 4: know what they did really well that game. They weren't
- 24:48Speaker 4: afraid to get into a two strike count against the
- 24:51Speaker 4: guy who doesn't necessarily have that wipeout two strike pitch
- 24:55Speaker 4: and he wants to go all nine. They got his
- 24:57Speaker 4: pitch count up. Sandy didn't want to come out of
- 25:00Speaker 4: the game. I probably would have said, no, don't take
- 25:03Speaker 4: him out of the game. And then as soon as
- 25:05Speaker 4: they brought the reliever, I don't know who they brought in,
- 25:07Speaker 4: doesn't really matter. You just saw the at bats that
- 25:10Speaker 4: they were taking the rest of that or earlier in
- 25:13Speaker 4: that game, punch them through the finish line. And it
- 25:16Speaker 4: was like, as soon as soon as they got the
- 25:17Speaker 4: extras or as soon as they got the runners of
- 25:19Speaker 4: scoring position in ninth ending. It was like, this team's
- 25:22Speaker 4: gonna get the job done, and so it doesn't show
- 25:24Speaker 4: up in your stats, but it shows up in a
- 25:26Speaker 4: W column, which is where the Reds are, which I
- 25:29Speaker 4: think is kind of an extension of Tito. It's kind
- 25:31Speaker 4: of an extension of DJ Johnson. Derek Johnson. They're pitching
- 25:34Speaker 4: coach like, this is what they created as a Reds
- 25:37Speaker 4: organization and they're.
- 25:39Speaker 5: Seeing it come to fruition right now with this team.
- 25:43Speaker 2: Very good, very good.
- 25:46Speaker 3: Let's jump into my May predictions. I was really sitting
- 25:50Speaker 3: down trying to figure this out. You know this, I'm
- 25:52Speaker 3: not very good at, you know, necessarily predicting you know
- 25:56Speaker 3: what's going to happen. You know, maybe I might be
- 25:58Speaker 3: good at picking who's going to win and lose during
- 26:00Speaker 3: some games. But I feel like the Blue Jays are
- 26:02Speaker 3: going to be the biggest surprise in May. We haven't
- 26:05Speaker 3: really seen them really kickstart where they need to be.
- 26:08Speaker 3: They're only six games out flat Garrow Junior is going
- 26:11Speaker 3: to have a really good May. The team's coming along
- 26:14Speaker 3: a bit, a couple of wins last month at the
- 26:17Speaker 3: end there to get them kickstarted. I see them pushing forward.
- 26:19Speaker 3: They they have a fourtuitous month of May with the schedule,
- 26:23Speaker 3: I see them getting right back into the race and
- 26:26Speaker 3: you know, maybe pushing forward and pushing right behind the Yankees.
- 26:30Speaker 6: There.
- 26:30Speaker 3: I could see the Blue Jays finally getting going here
- 26:33Speaker 3: a little bit. Biggest disappointment the Marlins. They're right there.
- 26:37Speaker 3: We know they're they're far behind first place in six
- 26:40Speaker 3: and a half, but I do see that kind of
- 26:42Speaker 3: trickling even further down. They came out hot. You know,
- 26:47Speaker 3: they're they're winning games that they, you know, not necessarily
- 26:50Speaker 3: should win. I'd be like the Marlins are going to
- 26:52Speaker 3: eventually be down a little further in the NL East.
- 26:56Speaker 3: Big moment, I'm saying ten plus home runs from Judge.
- 26:59Speaker 3: I mean, we've seen it be four, but this can
- 27:01Speaker 3: ultimately get to twelve or thirteen. I think he's gonna
- 27:04Speaker 3: get absolutely hot, and when he hits home runs, they
- 27:07Speaker 3: come in bunches. He had back to back to back
- 27:09Speaker 3: in three straight games in Texas. He'll be your player
- 27:13Speaker 3: of the month eventually when that happens. Could see him
- 27:15Speaker 3: get a bunch of RBIs. On the same page. Cam Sweitler,
- 27:19Speaker 3: he has been fantastic. I see him being the pitcher
- 27:21Speaker 3: of the month and if then no hitter comes, that
- 27:24Speaker 3: will hit automatically Cratzy. So that's how I see with
- 27:26Speaker 3: you and JJ weatherholt Man. There's a lot of talk
- 27:29Speaker 3: about a lot of rookies. He's getting some love, but
- 27:32Speaker 3: he's gonna get a lot more love. This is gonna
- 27:34Speaker 3: be a big month for him. I had a monster
- 27:36Speaker 3: home run against Skeens, the lead off the art. I
- 27:39Speaker 3: think it was the lead off the game. If I'm
- 27:40Speaker 3: not mistaken, and he's got a sweet left handed swing,
- 27:44Speaker 3: there's my rookie of the month.
- 27:46Speaker 2: I'll at me beauty.
- 27:49Speaker 1: I want to make fun of him for anything. Kratz
- 27:51Speaker 1: and as your chance last call.
- 27:53Speaker 4: No, I really didn't pay attention to anything he said
- 27:55Speaker 4: because it looks exactly like ours. It looks exactly like mine.
- 28:00Speaker 4: I couldn't agree more with a lot. And I was listening, Todd.
- 28:03Speaker 4: I'm really good at two things. One of them is listening, but.
- 28:08Speaker 5: The other the.
- 28:09Speaker 4: Other thing that I gotta say about Cam Schlitzler. I mean,
- 28:13Speaker 4: if we talked about the Reds, you gotta go watch
- 28:16Speaker 4: a game. You have to go watch a Cam Schlitzler game.
- 28:19Speaker 4: Don't watch the game for stats, don't watch like oh
- 28:22Speaker 4: I wonder if he's going to strike out because everyone thinking, Okay, Boston,
- 28:25Speaker 4: he had that little TIFFs and then he had like
- 28:27Speaker 4: what twelve strikeouts in the playoffs against him. Just watch
- 28:30Speaker 4: how he navigates a lineup, Watch how he executes his pitches,
- 28:35Speaker 4: and the different demeanor that he has on the mound,
- 28:38Speaker 4: a different demeanor where you know, if you're not if
- 28:40Speaker 4: you're in a Yankees fan, you might be like, I
- 28:42Speaker 4: don't like that guy.
- 28:43Speaker 5: I don't like the way he stands on the mound.
- 28:45Speaker 4: If you're a Yankees fan, or you're a or you're
- 28:48Speaker 4: a fan of competitiveness, this dude wants to go out
- 28:51Speaker 4: there and stay out there.
- 28:53Speaker 5: There's some dudes.
- 28:54Speaker 4: Where you see him, they get to the fifth thing
- 28:55Speaker 4: and they start looking in the dugout. They're like, Hey,
- 28:58Speaker 4: I'm gonna get my ninth strike out here, but I've
- 29:00Speaker 4: given you everything I got. He's coming back out for
- 29:03Speaker 4: the eighth inning. He's coming back out for the seventh
- 29:06Speaker 4: in a tougher outing, Like he has stuff that can
- 29:09Speaker 4: get him through bad outings. So I kind of want
- 29:11Speaker 4: to turn the game on when to see, like, does
- 29:13Speaker 4: Cam Slitler does he got the stuff tonight? Like this
- 29:16Speaker 4: might be CG. This might be you know, like I said,
- 29:19Speaker 4: no hitter, that's a shot in the dark. But it's
- 29:22Speaker 4: like it's just different watching a guy like that with
- 29:25Speaker 4: that kind of skill set, but also that same competitiveness.
- 29:28Speaker 4: And that's why I like watching Nolan McLain pitch too.
- 29:33Speaker 1: That's a good point, right, Sometimes you see that guy
- 29:36Speaker 1: out there and it's almost like a kid waiting for
- 29:39Speaker 1: the bell to ring in school.
- 29:43Speaker 6: Right on a pitch count ninety one? Do they still
- 29:47Speaker 6: want me to go another batter or not?
- 29:49Speaker 4: You're worried about the pitch count, not even like like
- 29:52Speaker 4: Cam Schlitler, He'll have like a seven or eight pitch
- 29:56Speaker 4: seventh inning and you're like, as a manager, I'm sitting
- 29:59Speaker 4: there going, well, that just proved to me that you
- 30:02Speaker 4: want to be out there instead.
- 30:04Speaker 5: You see some dudes that are in the seventh inning and.
- 30:06Speaker 4: They're like empty the tank, slider, slider, it's strikeout pitch
- 30:12Speaker 4: from pitch one. Well, nobody's ever struck out on the
- 30:15Speaker 4: first pitch of an at bat, Like I may have
- 30:17Speaker 4: looked like I had struck out on the first pitch
- 30:19Speaker 4: of the bat, but like it doesn't happen, and so
- 30:21Speaker 4: pitchers that know how to navigate innings at different times
- 30:24Speaker 4: of the game.
- 30:26Speaker 5: Like, that's why I like watching the pitch.
- 30:29Speaker 1: Yeah, and he's so young. It's it's gonna be good.
- 30:31Speaker 1: It's gonna be fun. Do you think the Tigers are
- 30:34Speaker 1: going to be okay? So yes, I mean Hobby Bye
- 30:38Speaker 1: is not playing that well and then hits the shelf
- 30:40Speaker 1: with the awkward slide with the ankle thing and he
- 30:42Speaker 1: goes on the IL. It's the pitching. So Miyes exited
- 30:46Speaker 1: his last start. He's on the IL with the ad
- 30:48Speaker 1: doctor strain. Other guys that have been out, I mean
- 30:51Speaker 1: Erlander is still on the shelf. They've lost rees Olsen.
- 30:56Speaker 1: I think Jackson job should come back. What end of
- 30:58Speaker 1: this year perhaps or later this year. Troy Melton was
- 31:01Speaker 1: great for them in the playoffs and then went down.
- 31:05Speaker 1: So like some nice exciting arms that they just are
- 31:10Speaker 1: not having right now, or that they don't have on
- 31:12Speaker 1: the big league roster. So do you think there's enough
- 31:14Speaker 1: depth there? And krats You're probably gonna say yes, because
- 31:19Speaker 1: you can hang around in that division.
- 31:20Speaker 5: Right, that's the easy answer.
- 31:23Speaker 4: But I would also have to know enough about what
- 31:26Speaker 4: these guys that they'll bring up and be able to
- 31:29Speaker 4: put in Kider Manteo. I was really impressed with his stuff. Like,
- 31:34Speaker 4: are injury is going to keep hurting this team? Yeah,
- 31:38Speaker 4: I mean injuries can hurt any team. But they went
- 31:41Speaker 4: out and got Frambervaldez. Maybe it was because they're not
- 31:44Speaker 4: going to re sign Trek Skoogle, but you know they
- 31:47Speaker 4: went out and got him, and now you've got a
- 31:49Speaker 4: year of both of those guys together, Like this is
- 31:52Speaker 4: this is it. This team's got to push. This team
- 31:54Speaker 4: has to hit too, like they can't. They can't use
- 31:57Speaker 4: the excuse of you know, up and down offense. We
- 32:00Speaker 4: lost Hobby well, like Hobby was an all star in
- 32:03Speaker 4: the first half and then a no star in the
- 32:05Speaker 4: second half.
- 32:06Speaker 5: So like, to me, it's really going to be on
- 32:09Speaker 5: the younger guys.
- 32:09Speaker 4: When I say younger, I mean Torko Sin he's kind
- 32:12Speaker 4: of becoming.
- 32:13Speaker 5: More of a vet.
- 32:14Speaker 4: Col Keith has to be able to be a guy
- 32:16Speaker 4: because McGonagall seems like he's going to be the guy.
- 32:19Speaker 4: And to me, the most scary thing for the Tigers
- 32:22Speaker 4: was when Trek Scoogle called Dylan Dingler out and started
- 32:27Speaker 4: like massaging his elbow and like shaking his arm and
- 32:31Speaker 4: you're like, what, like you don't ever see pitchers like
- 32:35Speaker 4: come back from that?
- 32:36Speaker 5: What was it like a cramp? Like we can't have
- 32:40Speaker 5: you cramp.
- 32:40Speaker 4: And in the fifth, sixth inning, then he went out
- 32:43Speaker 4: and just struck the side out in his last inning
- 32:45Speaker 4: of work. So, as a Detroit fan, you dodged that
- 32:48Speaker 4: bullet right there. You dodged a bullet because Trek finished
- 32:51Speaker 4: that game.
- 32:54Speaker 6: Yeah yeah, and then it was you know, yeah, yeah,
- 32:59Speaker 6: you're always going to hold the arm, oh boy. Yeah.
- 33:03Speaker 4: And even besides it, he's like he's like here, Dylan,
- 33:07Speaker 4: he's like, hold my glove, and he like held his
- 33:09Speaker 4: glove and he's like, yeah, I would love that when
- 33:12Speaker 4: comes on again, he was like, you mean this glove
- 33:15Speaker 4: that's a myth. That's a myth.
- 33:18Speaker 2: Yeah, but here he doesn't have a mit. Mine's better
- 33:23Speaker 2: who mine is better?
- 33:25Speaker 5: Heirs?
- 33:27Speaker 2: Thank you?
- 33:28Speaker 1: Uh Brandon Woodruff scary Velocity readings yesterday there crats not
- 33:35Speaker 1: just the readings.
- 33:36Speaker 5: Not just the readings. What I mean you watch when
- 33:39Speaker 5: he was throwing.
- 33:39Speaker 4: It looked very like he was I'm never gonna say
- 33:43Speaker 4: what the injury could be. It just looked like he
- 33:46Speaker 4: was like holding something back and he wanted to stay
- 33:52Speaker 4: out there, and I think he knew it. I mean,
- 33:53Speaker 4: when you start seeing eighty threes, eighty four, eighty six
- 33:58Speaker 4: was the highest during that like stretch of where it
- 34:03Speaker 4: looked like something was wrong. I I'll be honest, I
- 34:06Speaker 4: don't even know how, Like the hitters were sitting there like, okay,
- 34:10Speaker 4: I was ready for ninety seven and so how am
- 34:12Speaker 4: I gonna be able to hit this? And you just,
- 34:15Speaker 4: I like my heart ached when I saw him walk
- 34:18Speaker 4: off the mound like that's that was tough for me
- 34:21Speaker 4: because big lose one of my guys.
- 34:23Speaker 3: Yeah, he's a beast and he's he's talking about the
- 34:28Speaker 3: arms dead like I've never had that problem. Dead arm
- 34:32Speaker 3: like I know Roldis Chapman would get that every once
- 34:34Speaker 3: in a while. And he was throwing ninety two. You're like,
- 34:37Speaker 3: I still wish I could throw ninety two. But I
- 34:40Speaker 3: guess it's something that happens, and I hope there's nothing
- 34:43Speaker 3: more to it, because yeah, he's he's upstanding gentlemen. I
- 34:47Speaker 3: used to hate fam he get on the mound. I'd
- 34:49Speaker 3: look at him. I just want didn't want to look
- 34:50Speaker 3: in his eyes. It's like one of those like one
- 34:53Speaker 3: of those dudes where you want to be about to
- 34:56Speaker 3: be over really quickly.
- 34:57Speaker 2: I don't know why he scared me.
- 34:59Speaker 6: He did, yeah with that heater. So we'll see how
- 35:02Speaker 6: it goes.
- 35:03Speaker 1: For Milwaukee, They've got the miz pitching tonight. Kyle Harrison
- 35:07Speaker 1: has been fantastic, one of the better performers in baseball
- 35:11Speaker 1: right now. They've really got something, I think with Chad Patrick,
- 35:15Speaker 1: and we'll see how Brandon Sprott does. He'll get definitely
- 35:18Speaker 1: some extended time and maybe permanent time if you can
- 35:21Speaker 1: get on a roll himself and be in the rotation.
- 35:23Speaker 1: So they seem to be what top three right now.
- 35:27Speaker 1: Kratz in being able to blossom pitchers with stuff into
- 35:31Speaker 1: what they truly can become.
- 35:36Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, I'm trying to they fit somewhere in
- 35:40Speaker 4: that Like Dodgers Mariners conversation, I think I think the
- 35:47Speaker 4: Rays are still just in my ignorant opinion, I would
- 35:51Speaker 4: say the Rays are probably still top. But then you
- 35:53Speaker 4: start talking about two teams like the Mariners who created
- 35:56Speaker 4: their entire rotation, they created their bullpen for the most part,
- 36:02Speaker 4: and then the Dodgers, while everyone's gonna hate on him
- 36:04Speaker 4: for spending money on their rotation like they they they've
- 36:09Speaker 4: developed some too. I mean, just justin Robleski, just alone
- 36:13Speaker 4: is an incredible story for the Dodgers, and they had
- 36:16Speaker 4: the ability to do that and they've done it well.
- 36:19Speaker 4: So I think I think the Brewers are right in
- 36:21Speaker 4: there where they are. Are they two? Are they four?
- 36:24Speaker 4: Are they three? I don't know, but they're right in there.
- 36:26Speaker 4: And they do it with some dudes that you're like, what,
- 36:29Speaker 4: I didn't even know that guy was still playing and
- 36:31Speaker 4: then he's coming out of the bullpen pumping fuzz and
- 36:35Speaker 4: just hitting the strike zone.
- 36:37Speaker 1: Yeah. So many people thought Kyle Harrison he was ever
- 36:42Speaker 1: going to find it was going to be here, and
- 36:43Speaker 1: so far it looks like he's unlocked something with Milwaukee.
- 36:48Speaker 4: Or maybe or maybe the Red Sox just didn't take
- 36:51Speaker 4: the effort to figure out what he had. I mean
- 36:54Speaker 4: we even heard what, you know, he kind of went
- 36:56Speaker 4: through with the Red Sox and it seemed like it
- 36:58Speaker 4: was a oh wait a minute, exactly like what just happened. Hey,
- 37:02Speaker 4: it's our way or the highway. I think it was
- 37:05Speaker 4: a change up. They really wanted to throw his change
- 37:07Speaker 4: up or something like that. I shouldn't speak out of turn,
- 37:09Speaker 4: but it was. It was a very it was a
- 37:11Speaker 4: very poignant like nah, like I wasn't mession and it
- 37:16Speaker 4: didn't really matter if I wasn't messing with what they
- 37:17Speaker 4: were saying. And that's what the Brewers do really well.
- 37:20Speaker 4: They go to you as a person, They tell you
- 37:23Speaker 4: what you're good at, what we think would work, and
- 37:27Speaker 4: then they let you figure it out and they just
- 37:28Speaker 4: get behind you one so you know, don't forget to
- 37:33Speaker 4: invest in the person.
- 37:36Speaker 6: No, No, my way or the highway is much better.
- 37:39Speaker 6: Everybody should do something.
- 37:41Speaker 4: That's tired all walks of life, not just sometimes.
- 37:45Speaker 3: That's what Cratty's model was. When we played for Temuos.
- 37:51Speaker 2: I'm kidding, I'm kidding.
- 38:04Speaker 6: We did it.
- 38:04Speaker 1: We fired Kratz, so he's gonna have to pick up
- 38:06Speaker 1: another odd.
- 38:07Speaker 6: Job just for now.
- 38:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 38:11Speaker 6: Fun fact.
- 38:11Speaker 1: I mean most people probably know this if you're listening
- 38:13Speaker 1: to this show regularly, but Kratz is a high school
- 38:15Speaker 1: baseball coach. It's a real I mean, he's not spending
- 38:19Speaker 1: nine to five all day, but he's a committed baseball coach.
- 38:22Speaker 1: That's an everyday thing. It's fun for him. He's loving it.
- 38:24Speaker 1: But he's a hustler too. That that Eric Kratz.
- 38:27Speaker 3: He is for sure, and he's got a good little
- 38:29Speaker 3: ball club there in Pennsylvania. We'd love to see his
- 38:34Speaker 3: team keep continually big great. He talked about it. He's
- 38:38Speaker 3: had some opportunities to win some titles there, and you
- 38:40Speaker 3: know he's good. Keep building a nice club man. He
- 38:43Speaker 3: knows what he's doing. Good for you Kratz.
- 38:46Speaker 1: I will say, for as much as we have fun
- 38:48Speaker 1: with him and you make fun of them, I wouldn't
- 38:50Speaker 1: necessarily clear the benches and try to go after Eric Kratz.
- 38:53Speaker 1: On the other side, you better check yeah, check him
- 38:57Speaker 1: on a couple of brawls in the miners and even
- 38:59Speaker 1: in the majors when he's old and two dudes at
- 39:01Speaker 1: one time and breaking fingers just by holding.
- 39:03Speaker 2: Them back up. He's like, oh, sorry, excuse me, next guy,
- 39:08Speaker 2: and the guy's like.
- 39:08Speaker 6: Oh, I bet I was just trying to hold you back.
- 39:15Speaker 3: Yeah. Do not mess with Aeric Kraft in high school baseball.
- 39:20Speaker 1: Yeah, he's a Jerry Springer bodyguard. There is a home
- 39:29Speaker 1: run bet no sweat token that you can activate. You
- 39:32Speaker 1: can get your steak back in bonus bets if you're
- 39:35Speaker 1: not able to clear the fences with your home run
- 39:37Speaker 1: prop activate the token when you bet on any player
- 39:39Speaker 1: to hit a homer in a game. If that player
- 39:41Speaker 1: fails to do it, you'll get your steak back in
- 39:43Speaker 1: bonus bets keep the action in scoring position with bet MGM,
- 39:47Speaker 1: the king of the swing gambling problem we're concerned, called
