- 0:00Speaker 1: Final second with Coach Riama.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Thanks to both the Carlin Dezayne and Brendan Dumfy for
- 0:05Speaker 2: joining us on the show.
- 0:06Speaker 3: Coach Arima, you call me coach Arima.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Now coach ari Ema. Yeah, you could do worse than
- 0:10Speaker 2: being called coach.
- 0:12Speaker 3: I'll take it.
- 0:12Speaker 1: Yeah, I'll take it.
- 0:13Speaker 3: When there's eleven hundred games over five hundred got that.
- 0:16Speaker 1: That's insane, isn't it.
- 0:17Speaker 2: I know, I know, twelve hundred and sixty five wins
- 0:20Speaker 2: and one hundred and sixty five losses. Yeah, you'd sign
- 0:23Speaker 2: up for that all day.
- 0:24Speaker 1: I mean, hockey's a lot.
- 0:27Speaker 3: I'd signed up for the two hundred and sixty five
- 0:29Speaker 3: of his twelve hundred sixty five. I take those.
- 0:32Speaker 1: There you go.
- 0:32Speaker 2: Speaking of coach, we have a show tomorrow night with Gino.
- 0:35Speaker 2: He is always anytime we get done with our pregame interviews,
- 0:38Speaker 2: he is always asking me about your hockey team. All right,
- 0:42Speaker 2: he goes like Wednesday goes, he goes, hey, aren't they playing?
- 0:46Speaker 2: Or Saturday was aren't they playing? Go yeah, I thinky're
- 0:48Speaker 2: playing at two and he go yeah, okay, good stuff
- 0:51Speaker 2: like that. And we mentioned about Joey going to the
- 0:53Speaker 2: Spangler Cup and all that and then the cage and
- 0:55Speaker 2: the Olympic team. Yeah. I look at the standings here.
- 0:58Speaker 2: I haven't looked at him in a while. Eleven to
- 1:01Speaker 2: five and three, which is better than at this point
- 1:03Speaker 2: last season. And you're still a top Hockey East out. Yes,
- 1:07Speaker 2: there are still January and February to go, but it's
- 1:10Speaker 2: nice to see you Kunn a top of table.
- 1:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:13Speaker 2: I mean, you know, usually you're battling like anywhere from
- 1:16Speaker 2: seventh to fourth or third, battling for a spot. But
- 1:19Speaker 2: you guys played well this first half of the season.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:22Speaker 3: I mean, we have a long way to go. As
- 1:24Speaker 3: I said, the games get a lot more intense here
- 1:26Speaker 3: in the second half. But I always say in the
- 1:29Speaker 3: first half, you can't win any trophies, but you can
- 1:31Speaker 3: play yourself out of them, and we were able to
- 1:34Speaker 3: put ourselves in a position to compete for those trophies.
- 1:38Speaker 2: It might be hard to gauge this now, I mean,
- 1:42Speaker 2: this was probably a better question to ask for really
- 1:45Speaker 2: mid March. Does this team have the potential to be
- 1:49Speaker 2: better than the team last year?
- 1:51Speaker 3: I hope?
- 1:52Speaker 2: So.
- 1:52Speaker 3: Yeah, I think every team you know, you hope has
- 1:56Speaker 3: the potential to be better than the team you've coached
- 1:58Speaker 3: in previous years. The fact that we have a lot
- 2:02Speaker 3: of seniors I think helps us. We have a lot
- 2:06Speaker 3: of experience there, and you're not seeing a lot of
- 2:08Speaker 3: that in college hockey anymore because of whether it be
- 2:11Speaker 3: the transfer portal or kids leaving a lot earlier to
- 2:14Speaker 3: turn pro than they used to. So for us to
- 2:18Speaker 3: be able to have seven seniors leading the way, that's
- 2:20Speaker 3: certainly bodes well for us.
- 2:23Speaker 2: Now, you don't go back to school to what Martin
- 2:25Speaker 2: Luther King day or I believe.
- 2:27Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:28Speaker 1: First, so they've got a couple of weeks.
- 2:30Speaker 2: Still, what are they spending a lot more time at
- 2:34Speaker 2: the rink?
- 2:36Speaker 3: Yeah, we practice in the morning, We've got a couple
- 2:39Speaker 3: of things going in the afternoon. Sometimes we'll keep them busy.
- 2:42Speaker 3: But you know, I give them their time. They I
- 2:46Speaker 3: think enjoyed this time and they find things to do.
- 2:49Speaker 3: I know that they've I think last week they actually
- 2:52Speaker 3: went sledding one day, nice with the horse barn Hill.
- 2:56Speaker 3: But as long as they're not snowboarding or skiing, I'm
- 2:59Speaker 3: okay with it.
- 3:00Speaker 2: Yeah, to Boggins, I mean, let's are they Let's see,
- 3:02Speaker 2: I mean back when we were kids, we had the
- 3:04Speaker 2: flexible flyers going to Boggins.
- 3:06Speaker 1: We would build. Don't give me any ideas. We would
- 3:08Speaker 1: build ramps and go.
- 3:09Speaker 2: Flying and oh yeah yeah, don't give those guys any ideas.
- 3:13Speaker 2: This this senior class, I mean, they're so special. They
- 3:16Speaker 2: have been through so much together, the ups and downs
- 3:19Speaker 2: of this. They got a real big taste of what
- 3:22Speaker 2: life in the postseason can.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Be like last year.
- 3:25Speaker 2: And now to take that, I mean, it just seems
- 3:28Speaker 2: like they've just continued the momentum. That guy is like
- 3:32Speaker 2: Huddy and Spatsy set up with the brochure, I mean,
- 3:35Speaker 2: and part of that YouTube thing, they also had the
- 3:37Speaker 2: booklet out. Now, nothing was you know, nothing was you know,
- 3:41Speaker 2: told out of that booklet. But it just seems like
- 3:43Speaker 2: that's the basis of what this this program is about
- 3:45Speaker 2: and what's expected of you.
- 3:47Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean they certainly, uh you know, the expectations
- 3:53Speaker 3: of the program were significantly increased after Hudson and John Spence,
- 4:00Speaker 3: Let's say that for sure. But that's a good thing,
- 4:03Speaker 3: and that's where I've wanted the program to go. And
- 4:06Speaker 3: now our seniors and Taber Heath Slip and Ryan Taddle
- 4:11Speaker 3: and they've just built from that playbook and they've kind
- 4:15Speaker 3: of added their own stuff and they're making holding our
- 4:18Speaker 3: players account.
- 4:19Speaker 1: And the first semester went well in the classroom.
- 4:21Speaker 3: Might trust well, they're all still here, so thanks to
- 4:24Speaker 3: Alana Butler.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Yes, you guys get a lot of financial guys majors, yeah,
- 4:30Speaker 2: County and stuff like that do Yeah.
- 4:32Speaker 1: Yeah, they're smart who playing for their future.
- 4:34Speaker 3: Yeah, well I hope so as.
- 4:35Speaker 1: You say, you know, I'm not bringing you here for
- 4:38Speaker 1: ten thousand. I want you to make ten millionllion.
- 4:41Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a great line. Cav is always a pleasure.
- 4:44Speaker 2: We will talk before the game on Friday and let's
- 4:47Speaker 2: get going in the second half.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Here we go. It sounds good, Bob, Thanks, it's winning time.
- 4:51Speaker 1: Jerry York you se I have to say it that
- 4:53Speaker 1: or Fris.
- 4:54Speaker 2: All right, we'll be with you Friday night at six
- 4:55Speaker 2: forty five and the radio for Yukon Hockey Tomorrow.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Night I'm with you know at the Holloway for Manchester.
- 5:00Speaker 2: Count the photo or Quiet's back in the studio about Julius,
- 5:04Speaker 2: thanks for listening to you. Kind out the book to
- 5:06Speaker 2: show
