- 0:34SPEAKER_02: Hey, thanks for singing us in, Stephen Jeff Show Band.
- 0:37SPEAKER_02: It is so great to be back in the studio.
- 0:39SPEAKER_02: It's summer.
- 0:40SPEAKER_02: And summer is just so much fun.
- 0:42SPEAKER_02: It just the weather's nice, and there's so many nice celebrations, particularly here in Omaha, but really all over the place.
- 0:49SPEAKER_02: But oh man, we got summer concerts, we got outdoor activities, we got something every weekend.
- 0:55SPEAKER_02: I you know, I remember living in Chicago, it was a lot of the same thing.
- 0:58SPEAKER_02: There was stuff every weekend, outdoor concerts and stuff.
- 1:01SPEAKER_02: Chicago had, I think, the first really big festival like that, Taste of Chicago.
- 1:07SPEAKER_03: Do they still do Taste of Chicago?
- 1:09SPEAKER_03: I heard that they do it, but that they it's like decentralized and they do it in neighborhoods and stuff.
- 1:15SPEAKER_03: I don't think it's the same.
- 1:16SPEAKER_03: And to be honest with you, I went to the first one and that was it.
- 1:19SPEAKER_03: And yeah, uh, I had a good time.
- 1:21SPEAKER_03: I I take that back.
- 1:22SPEAKER_03: I went to two.
- 1:23SPEAKER_03: The first one was great.
- 1:25SPEAKER_03: We stayed at the Palmer House, which is right um right by Grant Park, and sure that was fun.
- 1:30SPEAKER_03: And the one wasn't super crowded, but after that, we went a second time and it was just horrible.
- 1:36SPEAKER_03: Never went back again.
- 1:37SPEAKER_03: What made the difference was it lack of taste of Chicago?
- 1:42SPEAKER_03: It was poor taste.
- 1:43SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it was it was just really expensive, Steve.
- 1:46SPEAKER_03: You know, it's like they gave you these little samples of things, it was so expensive.
- 1:51SPEAKER_03: So, for example, like a Chicago hot dog, you know, was back then was like five dollars.
- 1:55SPEAKER_03: I think it back then you probably could get one for a dollar with fries, but but but it was like five dollars.
- 2:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's a little high, but you know, a Chicago dog though, that's worth a lot.
- 2:07SPEAKER_02: Though Chicago dogs are good.
- 2:09SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but that didn't count the bun.
- 2:11SPEAKER_03: The bun was another ten, and you had to pay extra for mustard and sport peppers, so you know it just got too expensive.
- 2:17SPEAKER_03: You'd end up spending like three hundred dollars for like a hot dog fries and a drink.
- 2:21SPEAKER_03: Maybe it'd be whatever don't even ask about picolily.
- 2:25SPEAKER_02: Oh, please.
- 2:25SPEAKER_02: Oh, oh yeah, that's come on, yeah.
- 2:29SPEAKER_02: Relish?
- 2:29SPEAKER_02: Oh please.
- 2:30SPEAKER_02: And you know, traffic is so bad too.
- 2:32SPEAKER_02: I just the last time I went to Taste Chicago or July 4th when they do the Chicago Symphony would do the concert.
- 2:39SPEAKER_02: Sure.
- 2:39SPEAKER_02: So we went to that.
- 2:40SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh, as probably the worst traffic I've I've ever sat through in my life here.
- 2:46SPEAKER_02: We we get that in Omaha too.
- 2:48SPEAKER_02: You know that here in Omaha, I mean everybody thinks, oh, how bad can your traffic be?
- 2:51SPEAKER_02: You know, you'd be surprised.
- 2:53SPEAKER_02: First of all, driver drivers here are idiots.
- 2:55SPEAKER_02: Number one.
- 2:56SPEAKER_02: Number two, here in Omaha, sometimes the traffic is so bad that 15-minute drives can take as long as 20 minutes.
- 3:05SPEAKER_02: I even heard 25 once, but I digress.
- 3:08SPEAKER_02: You know, maybe if you're gonna go to something like that, do like you did that first time.
- 3:12SPEAKER_02: You'd stay at the Palmer House, get a hotel room downtown, you know, off the face of traffic.
- 3:16SPEAKER_03: Uh well, I would say to do that too, but had another bad experience.
- 3:20SPEAKER_03: This wasn't me, it was Kathy.
- 3:22SPEAKER_03: She um stayed downtown with a couple friends to celebrate her birthday, and she had a really bad experience there, too.
- 3:29SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 3:29SPEAKER_02: See, I'm see that's so surprising because you know, we do that every summer, and that saves us, oh, five, ten minutes easy.
- 3:36SPEAKER_02: Uh so but what what what was her bad experience?
- 3:39SPEAKER_03: What happened?
- 3:40SPEAKER_03: Well, they had a good time and and a nice hotel.
- 3:42SPEAKER_03: I don't remember the name of it, but uh nice hotel.
- 3:45SPEAKER_03: And then she went to go check out and they gave her a bill for$700.
- 3:50SPEAKER_03: $700.
- 3:50SPEAKER_03: That's quite the hotel, yeah.
- 3:52SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 3:53SPEAKER_03: She was freaked out for good reason.
- 3:55SPEAKER_03: I mean, they split it between the three girls, but still,$700 is a lot of money.
- 4:00SPEAKER_03: And so she asked, you know, why was it so expensive?
- 4:03SPEAKER_03: The guy who uh was working at the desk, you know, kind of snotty.
- 4:07SPEAKER_03: And he was like, Well, you know what?
- 4:09SPEAKER_03: We have an Olympic-sized pool here and a huge conference center, which was available for you to use.
- 4:15SPEAKER_03: And Kathy's like, Yeah, but I didn't use them.
- 4:18SPEAKER_03: And he said, Well, you could have.
- 4:20SPEAKER_02: The old resort fee thing, yeah.
- 4:22SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 4:24SPEAKER_03: And then he says, In the hotel, we have shows that you could go and see, and and you know, the best entertainers in the world are there.
- 4:32SPEAKER_03: And she says, Well, but I didn't go.
- 4:34SPEAKER_03: And he said, Well, you could have.
- 4:37SPEAKER_03: So yeah.
- 4:39SPEAKER_03: So then the manager said, Well, also, we have a great restaurant, and the restaurant has an amazing bar.
- 4:45SPEAKER_03: And she says, Well, yeah, but we didn't do any of that.
- 4:49SPEAKER_03: And he says, Well, you could have.
- 4:51SPEAKER_03: Finally, she said, Screw it, I'm just gonna pay it.
- 4:54SPEAKER_03: So she takes out a check, writes a check for$200 and gives him the check for$200, and she starts to walk away.
- 5:01SPEAKER_03: And he says, Wait a minute, you give me a check for$200.
- 5:04SPEAKER_03: It was$700.
- 5:06SPEAKER_03: And she says, Well, I charge$500 to sleep with you.
- 5:10SPEAKER_03: He said, Well, but you didn't sleep with me.
- 5:12SPEAKER_03: And she says, Well, that's too bad.
- 5:14SPEAKER_02: I could have that is a shocking story.
- 5:17SPEAKER_02: And wow, she gets$500.
- 5:20SPEAKER_02: Well, you ought to be in pretty good shape then.
- 5:22SPEAKER_02: Uh, but of course, you know, uh everything's so expensive these days.
- 5:25SPEAKER_03: Well, yeah,$500 gets too much occasion.
- 5:27SPEAKER_03: Probably true.
- 5:28SPEAKER_03: And it was a special occasion.
- 5:29SPEAKER_03: I I and the shocking part was that they had a restaurant and a bar at the hotel.
- 5:33SPEAKER_03: Those are cool.
- 5:34SPEAKER_02: So that's almost worth the$700.
- 5:38SPEAKER_02: That sounds like a great time that you could have had there, but speaking of great birthday celebrations, you're going to the 4th of July, that 250th celebration in in Washington, D.C.
- 5:50SPEAKER_03: No, I don't think I'm gonna go do that this year.
- 5:53SPEAKER_03: Maybe the next 250th.
- 5:56SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you want to hold off for the really good one.
- 5:58SPEAKER_02: I mean, five.
- 5:58SPEAKER_02: How about you?
- 5:59SPEAKER_02: Are are you are you going to it?
- 6:00SPEAKER_02: I think I might.
- 6:01SPEAKER_02: I got an invitation.
- 6:03SPEAKER_02: Well, let me explain.
- 6:04SPEAKER_02: I have some relatives in Alabama, Kentucky, and Montana, and they got invitations, so I'm kind of their plus one.
- 6:11SPEAKER_02: I don't think you in Illinois, they're probably not gonna send the invitations to Illinois, you know.
- 6:16SPEAKER_03: I didn't get one.
- 6:16SPEAKER_02: So probably got lost in the mail.
- 6:19SPEAKER_02: See, mail and voting, right?
- 6:21SPEAKER_02: There you go.
- 6:22SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and maybe I could be your plus one if I went, because I I don't think anybody in Illinois is allowed to go.
- 6:27SPEAKER_03: But can you tell me a little bit more about it?
- 6:29SPEAKER_02: From everything I've heard, it's gonna be how should I put this a once-in-a-lifetime event, an event that you will not believe, an event that you will not see the likes of ever again.
- 6:39unknown: Okay.
- 6:40SPEAKER_02: For a variety of reasons.
- 6:41SPEAKER_02: But nobody's ever seen it?
- 6:43SPEAKER_02: No one's ever seen it, and no one probably wants to, but here we are.
- 6:47SPEAKER_02: And I you know, I think maybe as a public service, I got the agenda here for this whole thing.
- 6:53SPEAKER_02: For public service, for let's face it, Jeff, the millions that are listening, and a lot of them are probably waiting for their invitations.
- 7:00SPEAKER_02: A lot of them are in states where they're not going to get invitations, you know?
- 7:03SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 7:04SPEAKER_03: Well, but you know, and sometimes in these events, people just crash them.
- 7:07SPEAKER_02: Well, sure.
- 7:08SPEAKER_03: So tell tell me a little bit more about the so it's on July 4th, you know, our anniversary is a country.
- 7:14SPEAKER_02: Well, no, actually, it's it's actually on July 5th.
- 7:17SPEAKER_02: Uh, see, there's a lot of people think, oh, this is a mistake.
- 7:20SPEAKER_02: No, no, it was a mistake.
- 7:22SPEAKER_02: The king's golfing on the fourth.
- 7:23SPEAKER_02: He's got a 9 a.m.
- 7:24SPEAKER_02: T off.
- 7:25SPEAKER_02: So, you know, you don't want to give that up.
- 7:27SPEAKER_02: You know, so so he moved it to the fifth.
- 7:30SPEAKER_02: He plans on going.
- 7:31SPEAKER_02: So the fifth is a Sunday this year.
- 7:33SPEAKER_02: He plans on going right after church.
- 7:35SPEAKER_02: Oh, he's not he's not going to church.
- 7:37SPEAKER_02: Oh, oh no, he's not going to church.
- 7:39SPEAKER_02: He's wanted to sleep in a little and he's always up late posting after golf nights, you know, needs his rest.
- 7:46SPEAKER_02: So he's gonna kick it over the fifth.
- 7:48SPEAKER_03: So it's on the on the fifth.
- 7:50SPEAKER_03: I had heard something that maybe it was going to be moved to a completely different date because well, you know, they say that like the bib the Bible isn't always accurate in terms of dates and you know, like historical stuff.
- 8:02SPEAKER_03: So I don't know, is that the same with like the birth of our country?
- 8:04SPEAKER_03: Maybe July 4th wasn't even the real date.
- 8:07SPEAKER_02: Funny you should say that because I have heard talk that next year, perhaps, or in a future year, the date's going to be permanently changed.
- 8:17SPEAKER_02: And they can't decide there's a big debate going on.
- 8:21SPEAKER_02: You know, they always like to talk about, oh, there's a MAGA rift.
- 8:24SPEAKER_02: Well, there's a MAGA rift here.
- 8:25SPEAKER_02: They can't decide whether to put the birth of our country to move that to June 14th, which is of course the king's birthday, or January 6th, which is really kind of the birth of MAGA idea of their freedom to overthrow elections and hang the VP, regardless of party.
- 8:45SPEAKER_03: Now, are is it going to be held at the at the Capitol?
- 8:47SPEAKER_03: Don't they do a lot of events at the Capitol?
- 8:51SPEAKER_03: So is that what they're thinking of doing?
- 8:54SPEAKER_02: They do want to have it at the Capitol, but they're expecting such massive crowds, they're not sure they may need to move it to some bigger location like like a Walmart.
- 9:06SPEAKER_02: Big parking lots.
- 9:07SPEAKER_02: Big parking lot, yeah.
- 9:08SPEAKER_02: But as you know, the big part of any July 5th celebration is the parade, of course.
- 9:15SPEAKER_02: Sure.
- 9:16SPEAKER_02: And this one, this parade is no exception.
- 9:19SPEAKER_02: A lot of floats celebrating, well, really all the great wars, because of course the Department of Warfighting and Alpha Male Posturing is gonna have a big role in this.
- 9:29SPEAKER_02: They're selecting the audience, and the audience all has to be in uniform, and there are there are weight restrictions.
- 9:37SPEAKER_02: You have to meet a height and weight criteria.
- 9:39SPEAKER_02: I wish I was making this up, but I'm not.
- 9:41SPEAKER_02: Well, that thins out the crowd, so to speak.
- 9:43SPEAKER_02: It does, so to speak, yeah.
- 9:45SPEAKER_02: So we're gonna talk about all the great wars that they want to recognize, like the war of northern aggression, as you know, some people call it the Civil War, but not them.
- 9:55SPEAKER_02: The Venezuelan war, you know, the one where we interviewed Nick Maduro.
- 10:00SPEAKER_02: Nick, what a guy, you know, poor guy stuck in prison.
- 10:03SPEAKER_02: Uh great cigar guy, too, eh?
- 10:05SPEAKER_02: And of course, that war on woke.
- 10:08SPEAKER_02: Oh, the big one.
- 10:10SPEAKER_02: Well, that's the big one.
- 10:11SPEAKER_02: You know, in fact, our king fights the war on woke and loses the war on woke just about every cabinet meeting, I think.
- 10:18SPEAKER_02: But I digress.
- 10:19SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 10:19SPEAKER_02: There are gonna be some other floats.
- 10:21SPEAKER_02: There's gonna be one sponsored by the Supreme Court, and they're gonna throw out candy.
- 10:25SPEAKER_02: And you know how candy you know, like those Valentine hearts that have the writing on it.
- 10:29SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 10:30SPEAKER_02: So, like, you know, be mine, love you, whatever.
- 10:33SPEAKER_02: It's gonna have writing like that, except it's not gonna be Valentine's messages, it's gonna be their gift requests.
- 10:39SPEAKER_02: You know, like so you might get a hard candy that says Camper, RV, trip to the Caribbean, you know, those kind of things.
- 10:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 10:49SPEAKER_02: Five hundred thousand dollar speaking engagement, you know, things like that.
- 10:53SPEAKER_02: Also, from the float, they're gonna throw out applications to register to vote that once submitted, they will immediately throw out as invalid.
- 11:01SPEAKER_02: So which I that's kind of exciting.
- 11:03SPEAKER_02: They're kind of creating their own next term.
- 11:06SPEAKER_02: That's fair.
- 11:08SPEAKER_02: Another float that should be amazing is really from the King's family themselves.
- 11:13SPEAKER_02: Uh it's called make July 5th Great Again.
- 11:16SPEAKER_02: Now, you want to get a good C for that one.
- 11:19SPEAKER_02: They're gonna be throwing out crypto dollars and diplomas from Trump University.
- 11:24SPEAKER_02: Now, you might say, well, neither of those has any value right now.
- 11:29SPEAKER_02: And they don't.
- 11:30SPEAKER_02: And you're that's a hundred percent correct.
- 11:32SPEAKER_02: Neither of those has any value at all.
- 11:35SPEAKER_02: Not even a defunct penny.
- 11:37SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 11:38SPEAKER_02: But but you just hold on to them for oh, I don't know, a hundred years or so, and they're gonna make great collectibles.
- 11:44SPEAKER_02: By the time you go to that 500th anniversary, uh those will be incredibly valuable.
- 11:50SPEAKER_03: And excuse me, I'm leaning over you to look at the list, but yeah, oh yeah, you know, and I'm ja I have to admit I'm jealous, you know.
- 11:56SPEAKER_03: It may almost makes you want to cross the border in Indiana, you know, maybe.
- 12:00SPEAKER_02: Yeah, if you're in Indiana, you'd get an invitation.
- 12:02SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 12:02SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 12:02SPEAKER_03: Wisconsin, it's kind of a hit or miss.
- 12:07SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 12:07SPEAKER_02: Michigan, you get a half invitation.
- 12:10SPEAKER_02: Uh and Iowa, I don't know, but I Iowa, you might get two invitations, yeah.
- 12:15SPEAKER_03: They're the other thing I really like about celebrations are the floats.
- 12:19SPEAKER_03: You know, instead of the marching bands and the things that they throw out, I feel like the floats is it kind of demonstrates the effort put into the event.
- 12:27SPEAKER_03: A whole section of floats on foreign lands.
- 12:31SPEAKER_03: Oh and these, yeah, these are, I guess, countries who create floats and make a donation to the float fund.
- 12:40SPEAKER_03: I hear it's a$10 billion donation.
- 12:43SPEAKER_02: They they float the liquidity.
- 12:45SPEAKER_03: Is that what they do?
- 12:46SPEAKER_03: Is that what it's called?
- 12:47SPEAKER_02: I think floating, and that the liquidity helps them float.
- 12:51SPEAKER_03: And it looks like there's three primary floats.
- 12:54SPEAKER_03: I guess the rest of them have been forced out at this point.
- 12:57SPEAKER_03: Uh Russia has one.
- 12:59SPEAKER_03: Oh, yes.
- 13:00SPEAKER_03: Saudi Arabia, I bet that'll be a great one, and China.
- 13:03SPEAKER_03: Oh, China, yeah.
- 13:05SPEAKER_03: But that'll be impressive.
- 13:06SPEAKER_03: I hear that Iran wanted a float and they were gonna have one.
- 13:10SPEAKER_03: Maybe they do have one, but it's been blocked off.
- 13:14SPEAKER_03: So uh nobody can get to it, which is unfortunate.
- 13:17SPEAKER_03: So I may have to look at some pictures of it.
- 13:20SPEAKER_02: Yeah, down here.
- 13:20SPEAKER_02: We may have to go right straight to that.
- 13:23SPEAKER_02: Oh, it could be.
- 13:24SPEAKER_02: Could be.
- 13:26SPEAKER_02: It looks like marching bands are making a big comeback too.
- 13:29SPEAKER_02: Marching bands of of all sorts, and you know, in freed you see local schools, and sometimes you see big time bands, big time marching bands come.
- 13:37SPEAKER_02: They have military bands full uniformed from all the branches of the military, along with, I understand, the Michigan militia and the Proud, the Proud Boys Torture Chamber Orchestra is going to be marching.
- 13:50SPEAKER_02: Uh, a marching chamber orchestra just sounds fun to me.
- 13:55SPEAKER_02: So I've heard that ICE is going to be there too, plus, of course, the FBI and Antifa are rumored to be there too, if they can find any.
- 14:03SPEAKER_02: Antifa, I think, is going to be a one-man marching band.
- 14:06SPEAKER_03: Is it, you know, that'll be popular because I don't think anyone's ever seen a marching band or anything from Antifa before.
- 14:13SPEAKER_03: So, you know, if you get a good look at that.
- 14:15SPEAKER_03: Or anything else.
- 14:17SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 14:17SPEAKER_03: Although the king, he's got that sense of humor where he kind of dresses people up and pretends that they were that Antifa was there.
- 14:24SPEAKER_02: I bet the one-man band for the Antifa.
- 14:27SPEAKER_02: You know that guy that he's been on like every Fox News show and he plays somebody different on every show.
- 14:32SPEAKER_02: One time he's a he's a terrorism expert, next time he's he's a financial expert, next time he's a whatever.
- 14:40SPEAKER_02: It's the same guy, right?
- 14:42unknown: Yeah.
- 14:42SPEAKER_02: And he's wearing a mask on one the other.
- 14:44SPEAKER_03: I bet he's the Antifa guy.
- 14:46SPEAKER_03: Well, it's kind of like having the clown in the parade.
- 14:49SPEAKER_02: You know how the clown is literally like having the clown.
- 14:51SPEAKER_03: It's exactly like just like having the clown.
- 14:54SPEAKER_03: I also hear that there's going to be the January 6th marching band.
- 14:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah, absolutely.
- 14:59SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 14:59SPEAKER_03: Dressed in full uniform and fatigue pants and shoes and colorful shirts, and they have these symbols on all over on their bodies that are fascinating.
- 15:10SPEAKER_03: Works of art.
- 15:12SPEAKER_02: They've kind of modeled themselves after Pistol Pete's tattoos, you know.
- 15:16SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 15:17SPEAKER_02: This day is really gonna be the uh just the most memorable display of unchecked power that we've seen in our lifetimes.
- 15:25SPEAKER_02: But you know, what celebration would be complete without great food?
- 15:30SPEAKER_02: We were just talking about Taste of Chicago and talking about great food.
- 15:33SPEAKER_02: This event will not disappoint.
- 15:36SPEAKER_02: You have the usual street food stuff like ice cream, uh, you know, freedom fritters, and of course Russian vodka pops.
- 15:46SPEAKER_02: Oh, my mom will like that.
- 15:48SPEAKER_02: Okay, they have some really cool things, very unique things for this 250th birthday celebration.
- 15:55SPEAKER_02: Probably the one I'm the most excited about.
- 15:58SPEAKER_02: They have an original Twinkie that was made in 1776, literally, from the birth of our nation.
- 16:06SPEAKER_02: I bet it's gonna be just as good.
- 16:08SPEAKER_02: Oh, it it's exactly the same as it was in 1776.
- 16:12SPEAKER_02: It's gonna be sold.
- 16:13SPEAKER_02: It's tastes just as good as it did the the day when little Tommy Jefferson snacked on him while writing the Declaration of Independence, you know.
- 16:20SPEAKER_02: How do you think he stayed awake?
- 16:22SPEAKER_02: He ate these Twinkies, you know.
- 16:24SPEAKER_02: Now, personally, I mean, I have nothing against the Twinkie, but I'm more of a ding dong kind of guy, you know?
- 16:30SPEAKER_02: And a lot as a lot of people have said.
- 16:33SPEAKER_02: Now, the ding dong is also going to be sold as a commemorative item.
- 16:36SPEAKER_02: It's gonna be shaped like the head of our Secretary of War fighting and alpha male costuring, pistol peat hexeth.
- 16:42SPEAKER_02: It's gonna be shaped like his head.
- 16:44SPEAKER_02: Now, maybe that should have the vodka pop in it.
- 16:47SPEAKER_03: And good value, right?
- 16:49SPEAKER_03: Because it's got a pretty big head.
- 16:50SPEAKER_03: So if it's the actual shape.
- 16:53SPEAKER_03: Now, for me, I like something a little substantial, and I hear they have these baloney sandwiches that are supposed to be amazing.
- 17:01SPEAKER_02: Oh, White House bologna.
- 17:03SPEAKER_02: There's no baloney like White House bologna, let me tell you.
- 17:05SPEAKER_02: It's like Hats this pastrami.
- 17:07SPEAKER_02: Oh, there's no, yeah, it's no, come on.
- 17:09SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you're good.
- 17:10SPEAKER_03: You're good.
- 17:11SPEAKER_03: And and people call them trump steaks, but they're really baloney.
- 17:16SPEAKER_03: It's kind of like yeah, you're you're saying it's one thing, but it's really just baloney.
- 17:22SPEAKER_03: Well, you know, sold on Fridays.
- 17:24SPEAKER_02: It's all it's all pretty much baloney, yeah.
- 17:27SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 17:29SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 17:30SPEAKER_02: The other thing that's on the on the list is entertainment.
- 17:32SPEAKER_02: No, you gotta be entertained, right?
- 17:34SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and circuses.
- 17:36SPEAKER_02: We want the circus.
- 17:37SPEAKER_02: Here's the bread.
- 17:38SPEAKER_02: Where's the circus?
- 17:39SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's right.
- 17:40SPEAKER_03: And and and originally I thought it would be like a lot of B list people, because let's face it, you know, most of the entertainers in this world are not true Americans.
- 17:51SPEAKER_03: So, you know, they don't support the king.
- 17:53SPEAKER_03: But uh, you know, people like Rob Schneider and Roseanne Barr, I was kind of expecting that, but it turns out they actually do have an A list of people who are gonna be performing, and you have that list.
- 18:04SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, I'm I'm I'm looking at it right now and I can't believe this.
- 18:08SPEAKER_02: I don't know how they're gonna do this.
- 18:09SPEAKER_02: This is some really special medicine, but apparently Ed Sullivan and Dick Clark are going to co-host, and Bert Parks is going to sing There He Is, King of America.
- 18:23SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 18:24SPEAKER_02: You know, I don't know how they do that.
- 18:26SPEAKER_02: They're gonna have like famous artists doing little excerpts thing.
- 18:30SPEAKER_02: I like Paul McCartney is gonna come and sing back in the USSR.
- 18:34SPEAKER_02: Oh, that's a hit.
- 18:35SPEAKER_02: And uh somehow they got Taylor Swift.
- 18:38SPEAKER_02: Now, I think the way they got Taylor Swift is they took a bootleg video and they created an AI version from the bootleg video.
- 18:46SPEAKER_02: Sounds like it's really Taylor Swift, but it sounds like really an awful lot like her.
- 18:51SPEAKER_02: I I think it's fake.
- 18:52SPEAKER_02: You know, Meatloaf, he's he's got he's gonna come and perform screen you by the dashboard light of my Tesla.
- 18:58SPEAKER_02: Oh, it gets even better.
- 19:00SPEAKER_02: Tom Hanks.
- 19:02SPEAKER_02: Tom Hanks is gonna be there.
- 19:03SPEAKER_02: Now you wouldn't think that our king would want to hang with Tom Hanks, or vice versa, that Tom Hanks would want to hang with our king, right?
- 19:11SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you would not think that.
- 19:12SPEAKER_02: But no, he's gonna be there.
- 19:14SPEAKER_02: He's going to do a live table reading.
- 19:17SPEAKER_02: They're doing a reboot of Forrest Gump.
- 19:20SPEAKER_02: It's called Forrest Gump, the Eric Trump story.
- 19:24SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 19:24SPEAKER_03: So Gump, Trump, yeah, interchangeable, wouldn't you say?
- 19:29SPEAKER_02: And of course, of course, background music for a lot of this is gonna be Elvis' jailhouse rock.
- 19:33SPEAKER_02: You know, sure.
- 19:34SPEAKER_02: They're thinking about their future.
- 19:35SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 19:36SPEAKER_02: I understand they've even got Beyonce coming.
- 19:39SPEAKER_02: And I don't think she's gonna perform.
- 19:41SPEAKER_02: I think she's gonna just gonna walk across the stage, and then I'd probably Tommy Tubberville is saying, look, we aren't racist.
- 19:48SPEAKER_02: Diversity.
- 19:49SPEAKER_03: The right way.
- 19:50SPEAKER_03: Diversity the right way.
- 19:52SPEAKER_02: Last week we were talking about the Cosby show, Bill Cosby.
- 19:55SPEAKER_02: You know, yeah.
- 19:55SPEAKER_02: I understand Bill Cosby's gonna make an appearance there too, and he's going to introduce a new product that he's coming out with that he's endorsing now called Naptime Jell-O.
- 20:06SPEAKER_02: I bet that's got some wheel punch to it.
- 20:09SPEAKER_03: Well, you know, Steve, I I there's a little disclaimer on here that says that they can't guarantee everybody who is scheduled to perform will be there or is alive.
- 20:20SPEAKER_03: So you know, because you don't know.
- 20:22SPEAKER_03: I mean, right can die between now and then.
- 20:27SPEAKER_02: Absolutely.
- 20:28SPEAKER_03: I think this has been planned what since like the the two 200th anniversary.
- 20:32SPEAKER_03: It's been 50 years.
- 20:33SPEAKER_03: So a lot of these people were were still alive.
- 20:36SPEAKER_03: But I really it does make me want to move to a state where I can get an invitation and be included.
- 20:42SPEAKER_02: Well, you move to Nebraska, as long as you're staying out of Omaha, because you won't get one if you live there.
- 20:47SPEAKER_02: But if you live anywhere else in Nebraska, I'm kind of going on my my in-laws.
- 20:53SPEAKER_02: Uh Kentucky got an invitation, so okay, I'm gonna go, I'm gonna be a plus one on the Kentucky one, you know.
- 20:58SPEAKER_03: Well, and I've never been a big fan of Nebraska.
- 21:01SPEAKER_03: Sometimes, just sometimes, it's a little too conservative for me.
- 21:05SPEAKER_03: But lately I've been seeing your congressman who has been doing these these town hall meetings.
- 21:11SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah, that's that's my kind.
- 21:12SPEAKER_03: That's my congressman.
- 21:13SPEAKER_03: Yep.
- 21:14SPEAKER_03: Is it Flood?
- 21:15SPEAKER_03: Mike Little Mike Flood or Little Mikey Flood, yeah.
- 21:18SPEAKER_03: Little Mikey Flood, and he's impressive.
- 21:20SPEAKER_02: Man, he's so entertaining.
- 21:22SPEAKER_02: The less he says the better.
- 21:24SPEAKER_02: You know, I gotta tell you, I I actually wrote him.
- 21:27SPEAKER_02: I actually wrote him recently.
- 21:28SPEAKER_02: Uh, how is he doing?
- 21:30SPEAKER_02: He hasn't answered me, and I don't think he's going to.
- 21:32SPEAKER_02: I wrote him recently and I said, You have said that you believe in the Constitution and the rule of law.
- 21:38SPEAKER_02: And you know, you've said that time and again.
- 21:40SPEAKER_02: Yet, to my knowledge, you've done absolutely nothing while your president crashes the Constitution and the rule of law every day.
- 21:49SPEAKER_02: You've done nothing.
- 21:51SPEAKER_02: So you're up for re election.
- 21:53SPEAKER_02: Why should somebody vote for you?
- 21:54SPEAKER_02: I was hoping you'd say, Well, I did this, I did this.
- 21:57SPEAKER_02: No, he just hasn't responded because he knows.
- 22:00SPEAKER_02: He knows that nobody should vote for him, right?
- 22:03SPEAKER_03: But doing nothing is doing something.
- 22:06SPEAKER_03: Well it is.
- 22:08SPEAKER_03: He's very actively passive.
- 22:10SPEAKER_03: He is or passively active.
- 22:12SPEAKER_02: He is one of the most active passive people I think I've ever seen.
- 22:17SPEAKER_02: He's not alone.
- 22:18SPEAKER_02: I mean, uh uh singling him out.
- 22:20SPEAKER_02: I'm only singling him out because I happen I have the misfortune of living in his district, but he's far from alone.
- 22:26SPEAKER_02: I mean they're all kind of active, passive.
- 22:29SPEAKER_03: I don't really hang out and and try to communicate with any of the uh politicians in Illinois.
- 22:35SPEAKER_03: Our governor at Pritzker.
- 22:37SPEAKER_03: I remember I had a shirt I wore at an event when I was supporting Pritzker.
- 22:42SPEAKER_03: It was in Iowa, actually, and the shirt said, My governor ate your governor.
- 22:48SPEAKER_03: That's about as political as I've gotten.
- 22:50SPEAKER_02: As political as I've gotten around Pritzker is I stayed at a high-end hotel a few months ago.
- 22:55SPEAKER_02: Well, there you go.
- 22:56SPEAKER_03: If I could go maybe as your plus one, I would like to do that.
- 23:00SPEAKER_03: I again I'm not sure what a a room the room rate would be for an event like that.
- 23:05SPEAKER_03: Yeah, you talked that seven hundred.
- 23:07SPEAKER_02: And and you know, with the seven hundred, they're gonna say, well, it'll probably be more like seven thousand.
- 23:12SPEAKER_02: And they'll say, Well, but we had president walk by and you didn't see him, but you could have.
- 23:19SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 23:20SPEAKER_03: Or maybe we'll just bring Cappy.
- 23:22SPEAKER_03: That'll cut down on the cost.
- 23:24SPEAKER_03: Oh, that'll cut down the cost.
- 23:25SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 23:25SPEAKER_02: 500 off right there.
- 23:27SPEAKER_02: Maybe.
- 23:28SPEAKER_02: Well, I like that.
- 23:29SPEAKER_02: Let's do that.
- 23:30SPEAKER_02: I think they're gonna throw us out again of eccentric Lady Land Studio, but Jeff, always good to be here in the studio with you.
- 23:36SPEAKER_02: And I think I think we've got a rip roaring 250th anniversary.
- 23:42SPEAKER_02: I know my mom and Johnny, they got this thing there that whole weekend, they're gonna try to do 250 drinks.
- 23:49SPEAKER_02: It's like, uh, you know, what are you?
- 23:51SPEAKER_02: What are you, 18 or week?
- 23:52SPEAKER_02: Wild.
- 23:53SPEAKER_02: You know, you're 90.
- 23:55SPEAKER_02: Don't do this.
- 23:56SPEAKER_02: But yeah, I there's no talking to her.
- 23:58SPEAKER_02: So I who knows what's going on.
- 24:00SPEAKER_03: Well, tell them to say how to pistol Pete, because he'll probably be there.
- 24:03SPEAKER_02: Oh, pistol Pete will be he'll be there for like somewhere between 137 and 191, and then he'll probably pass out after that.
- 24:12SPEAKER_04: But no, they'll keep going.
- 24:13SPEAKER_02: Sounds good.
- 24:14SPEAKER_02: But I guess so.
- 24:15SPEAKER_02: Hey, good to see you.
- 24:16SPEAKER_02: Steve and Jeff Show Band, sing us on out of here.
- 24:24SPEAKER_01: This has been a Nuremberg production, an association with censored media media.
- 24:31SPEAKER_01: Read all about our hosts at stevenjeff.com.
- 24:36SPEAKER_01: And now, a song from MAGA Fest 250.
- 24:44SPEAKER_01: They say that most democracies last but 200 years.
- 24:50SPEAKER_01: We sure have lots of problems, and the answer seems so clear.
- 24:55SPEAKER_01: So now the time to get it, go to run.
- 25:00SPEAKER_01: We're gonna turn 250, but not the light.
- 25:05SPEAKER_01: Two fifty four lights, four feet.
- 25:25SPEAKER_01: We're gonna turn two fifty, but not a light thing.
- 25:30SPEAKER_01: Two fifty one.
