After 12 years of serving soul food and Creole brunch in Durham’s beloved Hayti neighborhood, Nzinga’s Kitchen is closing its doors — but not without a heartfelt farewell. Owner Chef Zuri Hester, who opened the spot at just 25 in 2014, is stepping away to pursue her dream of becoming a registered nurse, while still staying rooted in her community.
