Transcript
- 0:14[SPEAKER_03]: Welcome on in.
- 0:15[SPEAKER_03]: Everybody, it is that time of the week.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_03]: It is perhaps a therapy session for many check it in.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_03]: Listening to the suitors on SI pod this week.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_03]: But nevertheless, we persist.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_03]: We are here with full reaction from a week that has been, which has included been our buckle in front of the proverbial.
- 0:34[SPEAKER_03]: firing line on his birthday, no less.
- 0:36[SPEAKER_03]: Brent Vittables has every day goes on, learning more and more about what he didn't like about the offense performance on.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_03]: Saturday and so much more, and we've got the crew here with us, right?
- 0:46[SPEAKER_03]: Chad would hear, no who today will swap him out for the great Brady Triathom, who'll say hello to in a second.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_03]: But Carson, did you survive?
- 0:54[SPEAKER_03]: Specifically, my driving on Sunday, as we worked our way all the way back for an hour or back to the 405.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, not always survived your driving, but who's driving on Saturday morning.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like I was a little boner for that, but that's here and were there pretty, pretty seamless drive back.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_01]: I felt like I've never had a 15 hour drive go quicker than that.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_01]: So all things considered we got back in one piece a little bit tired still, but can't complain too much.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I don't think that Aper or Brady know of this, but who've had a parking pass that was not the media parking pass because those were like 90 bucks.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_03]: And he ended up in a line.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_03]: Well, there was a line that we should have ended up in, who did not realize there was a line until we got to the term.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_03]: And we all know John Hoover, he don't wait for nobody.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_03]: And so we had approximately 100 mischaganders that were ready to assault the sooner's on SIV a cool on Saturday morning, and I was scared.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_03]: With that being said, Ryan, hope that you had a much more simple Saturday.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_03]: You're helping us man the ship back.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_03]: From Oklahoma and welcome aboard excited to dive into yours and Brady stops on the game.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_03]: It's a great right name.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, should be an interesting podcast today for sure.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure there will be a lot of, you know,
- 2:17[SPEAKER_02]: very non-controversial opinions expressed between the four of us, especially Brady and I, who haven't had the chance to really dive into this thing.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_02]: So, should be a fun one.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_03]: I just hope you both answer the questions that are asked to you.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_03]: That's all we ask.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_03]: I'm Brady Trantham here as well.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_03]: Brady, how was your Saturday experience taking things in from a far and waiting with my inability to get a video to send from Michigan Stadium out into the world?
- 2:50[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I mean, first of all, that should have really painted the picture for what you guys were about to endure.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_00]: If that's how your day started was, okay, like, not everything's going up from here, which could not be further from the case if you're talking about the Oklahoma Seniors.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_00]: But in terms of what I experienced, it was just,
- 3:06[SPEAKER_00]: You know, radio post game, talking about it with friends and family in the day afterwards, working on stuff like you said back here, no cloma for the website for the YouTube channel, getting everything as quickly as possible, still working on, speaking of like, we've even talked about it on our practice report that we did after.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_00]: uh... the brim animals and bin article press conference yesterday hopefully about the time that you guys are listening to this or watching it on youtube that practice report will be uh... ready and willing to go out to the world but uh... it's always a lot better to talk on a podcast when there's stuff to complain about when there's stuff that gets real people really angry like that performance we saw on Saturday
- 3:46[SPEAKER_00]: That's what podcasts, that's why God invented podcasts was for that.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_00]: Not necessarily for stand-ups on video because you got to look professional and not look super emotional, but now is the time to look emotional and look a little disappointed.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_03]: Well, it was a lot of this, of course, and I got to talk about the game on Saturday.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_03]: So let me throw it to both of you guys here, Ryan.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_03]: I think it's safe to say, while we gathered here last week on Wednesday, proving it, and they gave it a knowledge whether it be on the podcast, whether it be on Friday morning when the game picks headed up to the website that you were gonna see a different, better, much improved version of Michigan than what took the field against Western Michigan.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_03]: I think everyone accepted that.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_03]: What I don't think any unexpected was to see a newer, but actually older, worse version, more head scratching version of the Oklahoma offense.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_03]: And that is what a lot of people were locking into on the first half going, I think, respectively, what is this that we are watching and what is going on right now here at the big house?
- 4:45[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, I don't know if anybody was saying, you know, what is this that we're watching because, you know, it's something we've all seen.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_02]: a quarterback in John Matier who missed a lot of Brent Minnables and Ben Arbuckle called a mlay up yesterday.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_02]: A lot of very makeable throws air mailed some throws that OU could have had big time plays in.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_02]: That's something that we saw a ton last year.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_02]: And then an offensive coordinator who really went away from the run, it felt like much earlier than he needed to as they were having success with Lloyd Avant and moving the football on the ground and just a frustrating day for the offense all around that there were some slight glimmers of hope in some very narrow facets on offense, rocky beers,
- 5:42[SPEAKER_02]: The play of the offensive line for a lot of the game, although late, they had some struggles there.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_02]: But all in all, just a horrid day for Ben R. Buckle John material in the Oklahoma offense.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_03]: Brady, I guess as you were at taking it in, what was the most confusing or as you're watching and you assume from the fan base side of things, the most frustrating thing to take in about that before, specifically the first half, and maybe late.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I mean, jumping off of what Abraham was saying in terms of the lack of the running game.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the even more sad prospect from this game is, yes, Lord of Onth had what five or some odd carries in the first half or six point six yards.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_00]: Five carries.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_00]: That's not enough to suggest that he's going to keep rushing for six point six yards.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_00]: Had they just magically given him the ball in a different timeline in a different scenario.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't suggest that, but the sad part is,
- 6:41[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, you been our buckle brim animals didn't even give themselves a chance to potentially fail at running the ball, which would then force them to pin a bit and then ask John to throw the ball, which if that's what would have happened, we'd be sitting here talking about the offensive line, really needs Michael Vassousey back.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_00]: The offensive line has not made the jump that we all assumed that it would.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_00]: And we wouldn't be harping on job material.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_00]: We wouldn't be harping on Benarbo because that pivot would have made sense.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_00]: They didn't even allow themselves a chance to fail at running the ball against Michigan.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_00]: In the glimpses that they did run the ball against Michigan, it seemed like they have the talent.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_00]: They have the ability to move guys off the line of scrimmage here and there.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_00]: And with the scope position guys that they have out wide, Michigan is playing man.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_00]: So there are opportunities there for you to win some individual battles and get some positive yardage.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_00]: And again, they just didn't give themselves a chance.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_00]: And so what was I thinking during the first half?
- 7:35[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I just kept thinking all the way back to spring, all the way that the beginning of fall camp all the way up to even after the UTEP game, when they do heavy 12 personnel where they do show that emphasis on improving the running game, all that seemed to just
- 7:50[SPEAKER_00]: For one reason or the other, go out the window just because they made the decision from an offensive standpoint.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_00]: We want to put the game on jetometers, shoulders.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_00]: And, geometry is an individually talented athlete.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_00]: He is a supremely talented athlete.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_00]: He's a dynamic runner.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_00]: He's got a cannon for an arm.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_00]: But if you ask him to try to Baker Mayfield or Sam Bradford a game against a good defense, unfortunately in his 27 games as a starter going back to Washington State and his overall nearly 40 games in college football since his days at Washington State, he has shown an inability to consistently be that type of player.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_00]: that doesn't mean that you can't win a lot of games with him.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_00]: That doesn't mean that you can't build a successful offense with a flawed quarterback, but they decided they made the decision that week to put the the offense and the therefore the game on his shoulders and they failed and it really shouldn't have surprised anybody because it's what we've seen out of his career going back to his days at Washington State.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, as Carson pointed out on Saturday nights, streaky is maybe the the best way to describe John material and I think that Oklahoma fans even through a year with an injury have seen it there times the Michigan game a year ago or was up and down the costume up playoff.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_03]: I think that first half is a great example of it was as good as it can be and then a pic six that's Alabama straight back into the game and then you have the first half versus the third quarter.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_03]: And I think that's a lot of people's frustrations of why are you continuing to call number 10 when you know it's gonna be up and down in sideways.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_03]: It's led for a tough week for Ben Arbuckle specifically.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_03]: Before we dive into that though, let's take a step, not off to the side, but a very important thing that came out of the Michigan game and rolling into this week course in his Oklahoma Prepares for New Mexico, which is really preparing for
- 9:34[SPEAKER_03]: Georgia in a roundabout way.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_03]: There is one weapon in the whole scheme of this offense.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_03]: And what are we going to see against you, Mexico?
- 9:42[SPEAKER_03]: We can see the full dice.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_03]: One guy we're probably not going to see trail Harris who've had the report on Tuesday, boarding.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_03]: I believe the days were together talking about that he's going to miss some time.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_03]: He had to stay over in Ann Arbor.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_03]: He suffered a last race to an internal war.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_03]: Oregon on that hit, I think everyone remembers.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_03]: First off, credit to him for coming back in and toughen it out.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_03]: And in the NIL era, we've seen a cross college football, a bunch of guys that I'm questionable.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_03]: Let's wait, and I'll go check this out and things like that, especially for a veteran guy.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_03]: A trail was not that guy.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_03]: Came back in, had a positive impact to spite that, but Carson,
- 10:17[SPEAKER_03]: uh... one guy that cannot come and be the savior now is going to be trial harris so um... as a state is the known quality rock appears to be a position but he's been affected who are some of those other guys that preventables is looking to been our buckle and certainly local home will be leaning on in the mix while they try to figure out the run game as well
- 10:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, there's no denying how big of an impact this is going to have.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_01]: On the offense, trail hair is even in the stinker that I use offense put up.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_01]: It was really good against the Wolverine.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_01]: He was great against you to have the week before or two.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_01]: But you look at the other problems that this offense has right now, whether that's blocking, material, the play calling.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_01]: receiver just seems like it's not as huge of an issue right now.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, Satan is still obviously did his thing, got a lot of targets against Michigan, did his thing in week one, production wise, then you have guys like Elijah Thomas that we've heard nothing but great things about we know the athlete.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_01]: He is of course McKinsey, Lee, and had the one touchdown against Michigan, maybe they tried out someone like a Daniel Odom, Jaden Beteat, somebody like that.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_01]: So I mean,
- 11:21[SPEAKER_01]: It's huge.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_01]: Troll Harris is a phenomenal player.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, you knew what they were getting with Troll Harris when they got him from the portal.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_01]: Worth every penny just from a two game sample size.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_01]: What's like he was going to be a huge factor throughout the season?
- 11:34[SPEAKER_01]: Now that's not the reality and thankfully for them though, they have a lot of youngsters, a lot of guys that have either looked good or we've heard nothing but good things about.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_01]: So I mean,
- 11:44[SPEAKER_01]: There are a lot of other bigger issues that seems that the offense will have to deal with then simply obviously you'd like to have a guy like show here, but the receivers can only be good if this offense is good and that's only a small fraction of the issues with this offense.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_03]: it was only a small fraction of talking to rent rentables and binar buckle on monday and Tuesday right where do you want to go we we have so much uh... i'm gonna do a little dealers choice i'm gonna outline three pathways we talked to binar buckle on his birthday happy birthday coach bucks sorry that we all forgot the cupcakes in all that fun stuff but you had the uh... top line to thousand foot view where binar buckle
- 12:21[SPEAKER_03]: in heading into week three has been asked about if he's coaching for his jobs.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_03]: That's always a positive spot to be in this program.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_03]: The through line in the middle about the stuff in the run game, which did not get any answers that I thought were any good or tried to answer any kind of question, other than be like, I'm the guys I promise.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_03]: And lane number three, just kind of the, the job material and how you kind of lock that in, they're all going to be in the mix here, but what kind of stood out to you initially from the 17 and a half minutes of Ben Arbuckle that we got to talk to on Tuesday.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_02]: Well, we talked about this a little bit yesterday.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it sounded a lot.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_02]: And first of all, the tone of it was weird.
- 13:03[SPEAKER_02]: Both are buckle and venibals.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_02]: It just seemed to take on a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a
- 13:11[SPEAKER_02]: You know, usually when Brent Vittables, Brent Vittables team is lost, there's a determination in the way that he carries himself in those press conferences.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_02]: And I just thought it was a little bit different yesterday and not saying bad or good, but different.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_02]: And the bin or buckle portion of it, it sounded a lot like what we heard from Lincoln Riley.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, the only thing we really missed
- 13:41[SPEAKER_02]: We're close, we're closer than you think.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_02]: That was seem to be the only thing that we didn't.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_02]: things that you mentioned, John Matier, at some point it's just it is who he is and you've got to put him in the best position knowing your limitations with him.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_02]: I will disagree with Carson.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_02]: I think the wide receiver part of it is a big piece and we saw last year
- 14:14[SPEAKER_02]: what it did to them when they didn't have a wide receiver, a secondary, a wide receiver to really rely on.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, Rocky Bears has been really good.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_02]: You would anticipate that him continuing the way that he is would certainly help that, but they're going to need Elijah Thomas, Elaine Parker Livingston, those guys
- 14:35[SPEAKER_02]: to really ramp it up and produce because out of those guys we've seen you know just a handful of catches and that's not going to get it done and you don't know that Rocky Bears is going to be able to continue the production at the level that he's done it so you know just a lot of issues like you said a lot of things to pick apart a lot of things to you know focus on for improvement
- 15:05[SPEAKER_03]: Brandy, what would you make of and it's been alluded to a lot and been our buckle and brim animals talked about like geometry has to make the easy throws.
- 15:14[SPEAKER_03]: I think if you remember back early a couple of springs, screens, excuse me, a couple of screens, a couple of quickouts, stuff like that that I think there was almost a recognition in calling those plays.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_03]: that your quarterback is out of rhythm and those theoretically would be one path to working him back into a rhythm.
- 15:32[SPEAKER_03]: Yet when on a screen pass your veteran quarterback screws up as footwork and can't deliver that or on that quick passing game.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_03]: That is the one area where I do wonder
- 15:43[SPEAKER_03]: how tough must it truly be for an offensive coordinator have been our buckle to call an offense when you're trying to get your quarterback back into rhythm.
- 15:52[SPEAKER_03]: But I guess the flip side that would be, that's where you call geometry to run the ball or maybe you tell him directly to hand the ball off to Lloyd-Evon, which we get to hear in a second.
- 16:01[SPEAKER_03]: But what do you kind of make of that?
- 16:03[SPEAKER_03]: Because to me, that is one of the roots of all of it is either not being able to predict what you're gonna get from your veteran quarterback or maybe not having the
- 16:13[SPEAKER_03]: maturity is an offensive court data just because he's a very, very young offensive court into recognized win.
- 16:18[SPEAKER_03]: Your quarterback doesn't have it right now.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_03]: We have to make life even easier on him and circle back in a couple of drives and maybe he's like sell it back in.
- 16:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, you're right, Ben Arbuckle is young, immature, not necessarily from an emotional standpoint, but just in terms of the coaches around him, the defensive coordinators that he's seeing like he's he's very green still at this point in his career.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_00]: And look, he's made a name for himself.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_00]: He's the offensive coordinator at the University of Oklahoma.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm 35, I'm about to turn 36 in a month.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_00]: He's the first major OU coach who has been younger than me in my lifetime.
- 16:52[SPEAKER_00]: So that was always kind of like a, wow, I'm getting old plus this guy must be pretty smart.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_00]: But despite all that credibility, like you've mentioned, despite him knowing geometry or what for four seasons, go back to Washington State and nearly 40 games together, where John has stepped on the field for one of, for an offense under, uh, been our buckle
- 17:14[SPEAKER_00]: It just seems like to us as dumbdums.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_00]: We're not in the meeting rooms.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_00]: We're not making the game plan.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_00]: We're not calm plays on Saturdays.
- 17:22[SPEAKER_00]: But to us, it just seems like on Saturday.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_00]: They just went back to what been our buckles comfortable with.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_00]: That's ARA, that's RPO centric offense.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_00]: and jomits here even in his good games last year even after he was injured like the Tennessee game especially in the second half that was a really good performance by jomits here but what was one of the more memorable plays of that game when OU was essentially just bleeding the clock the games over OU's outplayed Tennessee here comes an RPO with limited time left what do you do in why aren't you running the ball here
- 17:52[SPEAKER_00]: And then Jomans here at those interception, Tennessee goes down in scores and kind of technically still makes it a game and owe you fans and all of us have to kind of like still pay attention to this game that owe you as thoroughly dominated in the second half, but because of a decision from the offensive coordinator or a disconnect between him and the quarterback, they're not doing the obvious thing which is just hand the football off to at the time Xavier Robinson.
- 18:16[SPEAKER_00]: There should have been more of an emphasis of
- 18:19[SPEAKER_00]: hand the ball off to Lloyd Vaughn and Ryan U.S. been our book about this and he kind of went on a soliloquy about how well the jet sweep is the jet passes kind of like a run plate us in it's very efficient for us and I'm sure that Philano you fans death years all over the place because it's just frustrating that sorry Brady that again sounds like a Lincoln Riley thing exactly like yeah you're you're exactly right on that one where it just seems like
- 18:45[SPEAKER_00]: And again, I'm a dumb dumb, this is me speculating, but from my standpoint watching the game, it just really sent seemed like, oh, you thought way too hard about this game.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_00]: They thought extremely too hard about this game.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_00]: They probably had the initial game plan of, let's keep doing what we've been doing all off season, which is add the undercenter approach for job material to help the running game go more downhill.
- 19:09[SPEAKER_00]: We've got a veteran offensive line now.
- 19:11[SPEAKER_00]: You bring in three tight ends.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_00]: improve this run game from a blocking and execution standpoint.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_00]: Let's keep doing that.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_00]: And then they just said, well, maybe they're going to maybe missions going to expect that.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_00]: So let's let's catch them off guard with some air raid and let's put Hayden Hanson out wide, even though he's more of a 99% blocking tight in and not a route running past catching tight in.
- 19:34[SPEAKER_00]: It was just a lot of questionable stuff that just seemed like a very smart person and then our buckle.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_00]: being too smart or trying to be too smart, trying to be something that he isn't and not doing the simple thing.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_00]: And everybody is applauding Michigan and rightfully so they win the football game after a week where everyone buried them for that performance against Western Michigan.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_00]: But they're being praised because they did what a lot of OU fans are just praying Ben Arbuckle and Brent Benables forces Ben Arbuckle to do, which is just do the thing that works.
- 20:04[SPEAKER_00]: Do the thing that you know your quarterback and your offense can execute.
- 20:07[SPEAKER_00]: And that that means whether you're 100% fully healthy, which Oklahoma is not.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_00]: And even in that game with Trell Harris, you don't have Michael Vsousey.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_00]: So you have Brian Foge playing in his first game this season after a few weeks of being injured.
- 20:19[SPEAKER_00]: Jake Michael, making his return after a month, essentially a month off.
- 20:23[SPEAKER_00]: due to his injury, all these guys making their season debut, and they still have this game plan of we're going to allow Michigan's best players, which is on their defense, their edge rushers.
- 20:35[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to make their life easier.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_00]: Just go chase John material for 35 to 40 pass attempts.
- 20:40[SPEAKER_00]: That that to me is just if you would have told me,
- 20:43[SPEAKER_00]: prior to the game.
- 20:45[SPEAKER_00]: John material's going to throw it 33 times.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to be asked to throw it a handful of times more because he's going to take off and scramble and get sacked a few times here and there on past plays.
- 20:54[SPEAKER_00]: I would have said, that's either a very good thing because oh, you should just come in.
- 20:59[SPEAKER_00]: Or that's a terrible, terrible prospect.
- 21:02[SPEAKER_00]: I wonder they're thinking, and that's what we saw.
- 21:05[SPEAKER_00]: So again, it's just
- 21:07[SPEAKER_00]: get back to what you worked on in the offseason, and at least what you guys told us all offseason, which is improving the running game.
- 21:14[SPEAKER_00]: And really Ryan, to me, it just kind of came from, they never said this explicitly, but it always seemed like we want to de-emphasize job material.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_00]: Again, he's a talented player, and OU, Brent Reynolds, been our buckled, they believe in geometry.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_00]: But there is something to be said about.
- 21:29[SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't have to be baker.
- 21:31[SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't have to be injury-jones in this offense throwing the ball 40 times.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_00]: That's not a winning formula.
- 21:36[SPEAKER_00]: What is a winning formula is utilize his strengths and mitigate his flaws.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_00]: emphasize the running game make those passing windows a little bit more broader so he's not having to dissect a secondary that's very talented downfield on past plays that are long developing when you're already behind the eight ball on the offensive line.
- 21:54[SPEAKER_00]: It's just a very confounding game plan that really Ryan just seemed like they thought about it way too much in that week of prep.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I think that everyone, whether you're in office job, whether you're feedback to your days in school, I think there's a lot of instances where it's like, this is the technically correct thing when we're sitting here in a classroom, we're going through a training exercise, there's stuff like this.
- 22:15[SPEAKER_03]: But then there's the acknowledgement of this may be technically exactly where supposed to do in theory, or this may be the philosophy, but when you get into the real world, sometimes like you just have to accept that
- 22:27[SPEAKER_03]: the people that write the books and write the training manuals on this, they don't have a ton of real world experience.
- 22:32[SPEAKER_03]: And this is how things actually work in the authors are in this profession or when you actually get out in and start doing things.
- 22:39[SPEAKER_03]: And that's I think exactly what happened with this game plan.
- 22:42[SPEAKER_03]: And like we said, I asked Ben Arbocco just basically,
- 22:45[SPEAKER_03]: I asked the media version of Lloyd Avant WTF flag, where did that go, and he went into this big, I'm not going to get too much into scheme and stuff, but it's actually part of a, I call the same play three different times, one of the reads on that is to hand it to Lloyd Avant, one of it's to get it out to the flat, and it's just like, that's awesome.
- 23:02[SPEAKER_03]: I get it.
- 23:03[SPEAKER_03]: You saw that Western Michigan was able to attack Michigan on the perimeter.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_03]: Like, I'm not saying you shouldn't attempt that.
- 23:09[SPEAKER_03]: But part of having an uneven quarterback, who even on his best days is up and down, is knowing when you need to take stuff off his plate.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_03]: Even if geometry is not throwing the football, even if he's handing it off here or deciding, I'm not getting to a little bit of it, but I'm getting up to Satane here.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_03]: So he's having to make decisions, and he's having to make the right read and things like that.
- 23:30[SPEAKER_03]: And Carson, there's a really beautiful thing when it comes to calling a stretch play to the left.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_03]: Here's the decision job it's here, Bakes.
- 23:37[SPEAKER_03]: I know when the snap is coming, I catch the snap, I turn to the left and I watch Floyd O'Mot run.
- 23:42[SPEAKER_03]: And I think that would be really, really beneficial for a guy who showed in this game that it's not always even a given that he can do the quote unquote easy stuff to try to get him into rhythm and get the offense going.
- 23:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I know last year we talked a lot about how maybe screen passes could be a big option.
- 23:59[SPEAKER_01]: Just short route passes to the tight end.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_01]: Not that obviously they won't utilize those going forward.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_01]: But I think he truly doesn't need more not just layups, just straight in the hoop, just to hand off to your point, a stretch, play to avoid a bond.
- 24:13[SPEAKER_01]: I have back draw, whatever it might be, just easier things that I mean, yes, you can still screw those up, maybe you can miss handle the snap stuff like that.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_01]: But you don't have to think on your feet nearly as much as you do in those RPO plays.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_01]: I think those can be both a gift and a curse, um, very innovative type of plays.
- 24:32[SPEAKER_01]: But I think being innovative is not really the priority for this offense.
- 24:36[SPEAKER_01]: It's just got to be getting yards and points which we didn't see a whole lot of against Michigan.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_01]: So I mean, I think simplifying it.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_01]: And I know that's something you don't want to hear from.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_01]: If you're a quarterback, you need a more simplified offense.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_01]: anybody who watched Saturday's game and doesn't think that's necessary.
- 24:56[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not sure we watched the same game.
- 24:58[SPEAKER_01]: It just seems like maybe confidence is still off just judging off of how last season ended.
- 25:05[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe it's just, I mean, I think Michigan did play a good defensive game, but there are still a lot of those throws that even against a great defense.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_01]: You have to be able to make that.
- 25:13[SPEAKER_01]: So I think simplifying it really would go a long way with him.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_02]: You know, one thing I thought of when Brady was sort of at the start of his answer was a couple of weeks ago, we heard Brent Minnebles talk about how defenses sort of caught up to, you know, some of the schemes RPOs being one of them and the adjustment back to that and how you sort of answer that.
- 25:41[SPEAKER_02]: And then Ben Arbuckle, you know, and yesterday,
- 25:45[SPEAKER_02]: Brent Vinnables and Ben Arbuckle talked about the collaboration between not only the offensive coaching staff, but the whole coaching staff about coming up with game plans and how you support Ben Arbuckle.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_02]: And it seems like there was no, I'm sure they talked about it, but there was no concept of what Brent Vinnables is saying from the defensive side versus what OU is trying to do on the
- 26:13[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, everybody is correct here, what you've got to do sometimes is just call the play, have them run the football, you know, yes.
- 26:23[SPEAKER_02]: You know, RPOs are good for a reason in certain instances in a lot of instances, but when you're making the right read and then not having success with the play, just run the damn football and that's something that they just couldn't get over the hump and get out of their own way, it reminded me a lot of
- 26:47[SPEAKER_02]: To me, my time on the beat probably the most overthinking that happened was Josh Hypo failing to run the quarterback against the Texas team that had really struggled to stop mobile quarterbacks and yet he just tried to be too cute and things got away from him.
- 27:07[SPEAKER_02]: I think that something similar is happening has happened with Ben Arbuckle.
- 27:13[SPEAKER_03]: And I think the biggest thing here is, it cost me up also a week to week game, right?
- 27:18[SPEAKER_03]: We saw Oklahoma State the night and day that the Cowboys had from week one to week two.
- 27:23[SPEAKER_03]: We've been to the night and day as far as vibes around Michigan from week one to week two.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_03]: Like I don't think Java tier is going to go out and be perfect at any point this year.
- 27:30[SPEAKER_03]: I also, it would not be a shocking thing whatsoever.
- 27:34[SPEAKER_03]: We look back and this is the low point for Java tier season.
- 27:37[SPEAKER_03]: But
- 27:38[SPEAKER_03]: There are still gonna be moments in games where things are not going well and they've got a bunch of road atmospheres left.
- 27:45[SPEAKER_03]: Certainly they got one coming up in two weeks as they head to Georgia now a week and a half.
- 27:49[SPEAKER_03]: And it's where the understanding of what's happening there I think is maybe the biggest disconnect or the misunderstanding of what's happening.
- 27:57[SPEAKER_03]: And that is where you need your head coach to maybe step in and really be the CEO of this thing.
- 28:07[SPEAKER_03]: four years and two games old with Brent Venibals as the head coach you saw little nuggets of it Brady if you watch the coach you show back that Brent Venibals does every sunday which will be rolling then kind of into Monday night he went through and talked to like the McKinsey Ali in touch dad that was a moment that Brent Venibals said that he walked over to the huddle at some point and was like hey boys
- 28:28[SPEAKER_03]: We got this guy over here that's to nothing but make plays through the spring, make plays through the fall.
- 28:32[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not saying he needs 50 snaps, but could maybe give it a little bit of run this drive and suddenly print venables on Monday night on his coach, so I was able to go through and walk us through the route and every excellent thing that the kids yelling did to sell everything so that he could be wide open.
- 28:47[SPEAKER_03]: You get to Tuesday and you hear Brett Vendibles talk about, we need to be establishing the running game.
- 28:52[SPEAKER_03]: We need to be persistent in established the running game.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_03]: He talked about the fact that by the time that they went back to Louis to the second half didn't work very well.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_03]: There were maybe some factors for that and things like that.
- 29:02[SPEAKER_03]: But at the end of the day, I think the biggest thing that needs to get solved from here to the end of the year.
- 29:08[SPEAKER_03]: that impact that Brett Venables, the defensive coordinator, but head coach at the same time, had when dropping McKinsey Ali in there and that suggestion, it still is puzzling why everyone agree that Brett Venables talked for nine months Brady back, run the ball, run the ball, run the ball, where is Brett Venables on the headset, yelling at Ben Arbuckle, just hand it off on the third drive and let's see what maybe happens because that's something that is still not happening in Norman Oklahoma.
- 29:33[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you're right.
- 29:34[SPEAKER_00]: And I think whether you're talking to people like us on the beat that are around the team whenever they're available, whether you're talking to fans that are just as plugged in as we are.
- 29:46[SPEAKER_00]: The going line has always been, well, Brent Vendbulls gives his offensive staff his offensive coaches a lot of autonomy and the idea is will Bob Stoops did that.
- 29:56[SPEAKER_00]: Lincoln Riley, I guess by default did that because I don't think he knows what a defense is other than trying to stop it with his offense But Brent seems to be doing the same when he was hired as head coach Jeff Levy was the head coach of the offense He was the head coach of the defense with Ted Hruf and they would meet on Saturday and sometimes there would be some successful games and other times There weren't and there was a lot of disconnect there and then you go out if you're Brent Minimals you go higher been our buckle
- 30:22[SPEAKER_00]: And it essentially is kind of been that similar vibe where sometimes it works and it looks beautiful and other times there is a disconnect and to fans watching it's it's very hard to stomach when your head coach.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_00]: constantly after losses.
- 30:40[SPEAKER_00]: In losses where the defense technically plays well enough to win the game.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_00]: And look, I have a high standard for this defense just like the four of us have a high standard for this defense.
- 30:49[SPEAKER_00]: They did not play well in the first half, but they did clean it up in the second half.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_00]: And they gave the offense.
- 30:55[SPEAKER_00]: chance after chance after chance to score to tie to take the lead and if they were able to do those things to extend the lead like the defense kept forcing three and out so they played well enough to win the game and yet every time Brent gets his post game presser and his raw reaction it is just nothing but defensive reaction got it got to get a turn over there got to get a stop there
- 31:16[SPEAKER_00]: could have a tackle for loss on that play that ended up going for one yard could had a tackle for loss there and it's frustrating it's very frustrating to watch these games over and over again where the offense is either unable to execute the play calls that the offensive coordinator is asking the players to execute or the game plan is just wonky what you spent all off season like you said Ryan emphasizing improving the run game to
- 31:42[SPEAKER_00]: Potentially de-emphasize geometry from the whole equation because a 20 to 25 pass game out of geometry with 10 to 15 rushes.
- 31:50[SPEAKER_00]: That's the recipe for success if he can stay healthy.
- 31:52[SPEAKER_00]: That's a recipe for success because with that is a healthy dose to avoid a bot, a healthy dose to Xavier Robinson.
- 31:58[SPEAKER_00]: And I know a lot of people are a little frustrated with Xavier Robinson and just the overall juice from the running back room.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_00]: But just like I said at the beginning of the show guys, these guys have not had a chance to show if they have it or not.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_00]: They've not got enough of
- 32:12[SPEAKER_00]: call from Ben Arbuckle to essentially carry the rock.
- 32:15[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't know what I was expecting on Monday when we got a chance to talk to a few players, one of them being Lloyd Abant.
- 32:21[SPEAKER_00]: I tried, I tried, I don't know what I was expecting, but I did ask Lloyd Abant, like, did you feel like you were at rhythm?
- 32:27[SPEAKER_00]: Like, are you guys that simply needs to get more touches to really kind of assert yourself on the ground?
- 32:34[SPEAKER_00]: And he said, no, I was fully in rhythm because he's a good team.
- 32:37[SPEAKER_00]: He's a good soldier.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_00]: And that's what I Brent Vennel's coach player is going to say.
- 32:41[SPEAKER_00]: But the overall results, like you said, it's just it's frustrating.
- 32:44[SPEAKER_00]: Because I think we all agree.
- 32:46[SPEAKER_00]: This is a very talented team.
- 32:48[SPEAKER_00]: If not, the most talented team Brent Vennel's has had.
- 32:50[SPEAKER_00]: And we all know that the schedule is tough, but that's what you sign up for when you play football at a place like the University of Oklahoma.
- 32:56[SPEAKER_00]: You sign up to play big time games against big time opponents.
- 32:59[SPEAKER_00]: And they have the talent to punch back into, in fact, win a handful of these games.
- 33:04[SPEAKER_00]: on this schedule, but if they're going to do it with one hand tied behind their back, that's where it becomes like Brent, you need to start what you did against UTEP or what you get to get to the defense against UTEP, where you're up 51 and nothing and everyone's like patting on the back for coaching them hard and keeping the standard high because they've not played well overall despite the score, you need to do that same thing with the offense when they go out there and put out a product like we saw a Saturday against Michigan.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_03]: If you do that, then on the bad days for geometry, it's a situation where it may be of an offense that can work around them.
- 33:38[SPEAKER_03]: And on the good days, when he's locked in, it still is a big benefit to have a run game humming because like you said early, Brady, even when geometry is as locked in as he was like in the third quarter, every quarterback should say, yes, to wide open throwing windows, kind of like what Oklahoma saw.
- 33:52[SPEAKER_03]: I guess it'll be a terrible second year in Utah, but I think everyone understands that, but that's the theory of the case, is that you load up in 12 personnel then suddenly you have a very easy throw to either, I say, a satin, you're in that case it was trial Harris, because you're just counting one.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_03]: You're counting the one.
- 34:07[SPEAKER_03]: Where is the safety at?
- 34:08[SPEAKER_03]: I'm throwing the ball the other way.
- 34:10[SPEAKER_03]: can't get much easier than that.
- 34:12[SPEAKER_03]: There may be some help on the way if Barn, Ben Arbuckle, chooses to accept it, Carson.
- 34:18[SPEAKER_03]: Lloyd, a Vaughan is the guy that is kind of in the focus of it.
- 34:22[SPEAKER_03]: We mentioned that Zader Robinson's been pretty timid around in the football here.
- 34:26[SPEAKER_03]: Oklahoma should have a couple more options headed to this Gimexico game and certainly into Georgia beyond it.
- 34:31[SPEAKER_03]: Britain was talking about Tory Blair like a guy that had been coming battling back for that hamstring injury.
- 34:36[SPEAKER_03]: One cleared till late in the weeks.
- 34:37[SPEAKER_03]: I didn't want to give him just a monster load suddenly.
- 34:41[SPEAKER_03]: On Saturday, a similar situation, not like a long-term injury he's been working back from.
- 34:45[SPEAKER_03]: But Jonathan Hatton, we know that he had kind of pulled up and had a little bit of bumps and bruises.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_03]: A knock as we would say in the soccer world, coming out of that U-TEP game, a guy that was cleared later on.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_03]: Sounds like both of those guys should be ready and willing for a much larger role if their numbers are called against do Mexico.
- 35:05[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and that is fantastic news.
- 35:07[SPEAKER_01]: Like Brady was saying, this offense, even though it hasn't performed, does have a minstala, especially in this running back room, four backs that they could realistically use that are four very different types of running back.
- 35:19[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you get your true freshman, Jonathan Hatten, six foot, two, 35 pounds, I think is what he's listed at.
- 35:26[SPEAKER_01]: Can run your 23, 22 miles an hour, I mean,
- 35:29[SPEAKER_01]: You will take that any way you can get it despite how old he is despite how much experience he does or doesn't have.
- 35:35[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that's huge.
- 35:36[SPEAKER_01]: That's someone that even if he's not your lead running back even if that stays or to bond.
- 35:40[SPEAKER_01]: You want that kind of athleticism production just because of this passing game isn't viable.
- 35:46[SPEAKER_01]: Throwing different things at them in the running game can be huge.
- 35:49[SPEAKER_01]: And I mean, we saw not consistently, but Tory Blaylock last year.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_01]: I know that South Carolina game he was phenomenal in that one.
- 35:56[SPEAKER_01]: Not that South Carolina was just
- 35:57[SPEAKER_01]: a world beater by any stretch last year, but their defense was fine.
- 36:01[SPEAKER_01]: It was not bad in phase, it's in Blaylock look to really good in that game.
- 36:05[SPEAKER_01]: Finish as OU is leading Russia, I'm not sure he's going to have.
- 36:09[SPEAKER_01]: To again be the leading Russia for this team going forward, but throw those two in with a guy like Xavier Robinson that he hasn't really found it yet.
- 36:18[SPEAKER_01]: This year, we've seen what he can do in his best very explosive type of runner.
- 36:22[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, the Ole Miss game, the Tennessee game.
- 36:27[SPEAKER_01]: even though they were going away from them, looked really, really good or early in that game to what we've kind of talked about on the post game pod, this pod.
- 36:34[SPEAKER_01]: So I mean, I think that is that's an encouraging thing.
- 36:37[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, the blocking has to be there and it has to be significantly better than it was against Michigan.
- 36:43[SPEAKER_01]: But as far as skill in the running back room, getting guys fully healthy that, that's something that's at least somewhat encouraging for this offense.
- 36:51[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, we will see we will see we're going to turn to the defense here in a second, but first I do want to tell you about some of our friends, specifically my buddies over at my bookie guys, it's kind of insane that we're going to get through this new Mexico game right and we're already going to be basically a fourth of the way through the college football season, at least the regular season for Oklahoma and we all love getting the mix and the guys if you're just trying to take the spread right before kickoff, you're leaving most of the game on the table, that's where our friends over at my

- 37:39[SPEAKER_03]: It is a ton of fun and that's the way to get in the mix.
- 37:41[SPEAKER_03]: And then also,
- 37:42[SPEAKER_03]: Another great thing about our friends over at my book is it rewards your action with weekly cash back in bet and get offered.

- 38:09[SPEAKER_03]: 1-800-Gambler.net for free, confidential support available 24-7.
- 38:16[SPEAKER_03]: We've got far enough in, I think we are permitted to speak about the defense as it comes to.
- 38:22[SPEAKER_03]: And one there fought, one there problem.
- 38:25[SPEAKER_03]: But they are going to have to deal with some moving pieces here.
- 38:28[SPEAKER_03]: And I think loss in the shuffle of all of this.
- 38:30[SPEAKER_03]: It's a defense that in actuality gave up 10 points, technically 17.
- 38:34[SPEAKER_03]: But they did it with Kip Lewis going down.
- 38:37[SPEAKER_03]: He basically played half of two drives and he was done.
- 38:41[SPEAKER_03]: I know that after the game, Ryan, you were the one that was,
- 38:45[SPEAKER_03]: hustling on the kip Lewis story as Brett Venables didn't have an update after the game but said that he was going to miss some time and he didn't seem too optimistic about it.
- 38:54[SPEAKER_03]: They did get some good news on Monday night, Brett Venables announced that it's not as bad as originally thought so that is certainly good news, but it also means that
- 39:03[SPEAKER_03]: That doesn't mean that suddenly Kiplus could be back in the mix like that.
- 39:06[SPEAKER_03]: That depth in the line back room is going to get tested.
- 39:09[SPEAKER_03]: It's going to follow some guys that were fine in an arbor, but to be fair to them, that was probably their first opportunity to get some true film as a quote unquote starter or keycatcher at that spot.
- 39:22[SPEAKER_03]: And they're going to have to ramp up and get better, very, very fast with Georgian Texas going on the horizon.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, I think about the Ted Lasso episode with Rebecca when Roy is saying
- 39:36[SPEAKER_02]: You know, it's fine good enough.
- 39:38[SPEAKER_02]: Well, fine's not good enough when you've got Georgia and Texas looming.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_02]: And you know, New Mexico is not exactly you tip by any stretch of the imagination at all.
- 39:50[SPEAKER_02]: So even though they did get good news, it seems like Kip Lewis will be back sooner rather than later, it's still at a really bad point in the schedule.
- 39:59[SPEAKER_02]: And you know, all offseason.
- 40:01[SPEAKER_02]: uh... we we heard about kip loses progression and how important he was uh... to the defense and when you lose that yes they've got a call solven uh... who can play pretty much anywhere uh... that they ask him to defensively
- 40:16[SPEAKER_02]: And yes, they've got James Nesta, who they feel really good about his development, but they're going to have to immediately play much bigger roles and, you know, in this, this defense, as complicated as it is, even though Cole Sullivan has, has now been in the system for a while, James Nesta has been in the system even longer.
- 40:39[SPEAKER_02]: There's a big difference between being asked to go out there and play a handful of plays every game versus going out there and playing, you know, 40 plus plays like he's going to have to do.
- 40:50[SPEAKER_02]: So they're going to have to, you know, cover that in some way, you know, you
- 40:56[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to be a, you know, dominoes falling there because you take Cole Sullivan away from the cheetah position and you've got to do some different things there.
- 41:06[SPEAKER_02]: When you need a more of a linebacker type, so it's all going to be fascinating to see what goes on, but Britt Middibles talked really highly about Cole Sullivan, but now it's time to prove it.
- 41:20[SPEAKER_02]: as he's going to get asked to play much, much more than he has been.
- 41:25[SPEAKER_02]: And then they've got to hope that Kip Lewis comes back fairly quickly.
- 41:29[SPEAKER_03]: Sounds like it was kind of again, we'll put this in the knock category.
- 41:33[SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to train you guys.
- 41:33[SPEAKER_03]: But the time this season's over, I'm going to be like, I know what a knock is.
- 41:36[SPEAKER_03]: It means, might miss this practice, but probably it'll be okay.
- 41:39[SPEAKER_03]: Silas situation for Michael Loganowski on the back end, Martin Robinson came in and I thought played pretty well.
- 41:44[SPEAKER_03]: and he was being thrown into the fire as far as that goes, but Brady, regardless of who's in the lineup, who's out of the lineup, it's been a weird first half second half dynamic both with the UTEP game and Michigan, because it's a program that has become known as a pretty shorthakling rally to the football kind of group under Brent Venables.
- 42:02[SPEAKER_03]: But you've not really seen it to the level you expect in the first half of the second.
- 42:06[SPEAKER_03]: I know that you talked to Eli Bowen and Jayden Jackson.
- 42:10[SPEAKER_03]: I believe it was on Monday night, just kind of about A, that their efforts to rally to the football and just kind of what it's going to take to get their second half of performances in the first half because again, this is a well coach, like very, very sound new Mexico team, but
- 42:25[SPEAKER_03]: two weeks from now against the bulldogs if you don't have that first half tackling, figured out that's where you're going to need to go on the road and keep your offense in the game anyway, that's where things really start to compound.
- 42:37[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, between Eli and Jaden, and I'm not going to blame them for this, but they didn't really have, there was no consistent thread in their answers about why the defense is missing so many tackles.
- 42:50[SPEAKER_00]: And again, they cleaned it up in the second half, like you said against Michigan, but I will say,
- 42:55[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, Michigan's offense did, they had like four things that they wanted to do and they did it.
- 42:59[SPEAKER_00]: But if you can only do four things, it's a 60 minute football game.
- 43:03[SPEAKER_00]: If you're playing a good team, which OU technically still is, especially with a great defense, you can't have as much success the deeper into the game you get, which is why, I mean, I mean, this is kind of a silly observation, but Michigan, what they're a 35 and a half point favorite over U-TEP, OU was what a 41, 42 point and a 41 and a half point favorite.
- 43:23[SPEAKER_00]: against UTEP and I know that there have been two games since then, but that tells me something that I'm not the only person who in the world who thinks, Michigan, good for you going to an O and rebounding, but I don't know if there's a lot of success for them on the horizon, and it just kind of like brings the conversation back to, while the defense did perform much better in the second half and give you which multiple chances to take the lead and win that game,
- 43:47[SPEAKER_00]: It shouldn't have really been in that situation in the first place.
- 43:49[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, Bryce Underwood's one run.
- 43:51[SPEAKER_00]: He had 87 rush yards, 38 of them came off the touchdown run.
- 43:56[SPEAKER_00]: You had a mistackle.
- 43:57[SPEAKER_00]: You had a bad angle in the box and then boom.
- 43:59[SPEAKER_00]: And Bryce Underwood is a great athlete.
- 44:01[SPEAKER_00]: He can make you pay if you are a little sloppy with your technique.
- 44:04[SPEAKER_00]: And that's kind of what it's been.
- 44:06[SPEAKER_00]: And Jane Jackson, Eli Bowen, they didn't really have consistent answers.
- 44:09[SPEAKER_00]: They kind of used Brent Venomal's buzzwords of like just too much strained to finish or not enough strained to finish.
- 44:16[SPEAKER_00]: I tend to lean more on what Brent Minimal said because that was more of a realistic answer to me where these guys are all talented and these guys have been in the system a lot like James Nesta like a Mario Robinson.
- 44:29[SPEAKER_00]: These guys have been in the system for a while.
- 44:31[SPEAKER_00]: But they've not played together.
- 44:33[SPEAKER_00]: And that does kind of hold some water for me because it's a specialty defense.
- 44:37[SPEAKER_00]: That is a complete and other team effort.
- 44:40[SPEAKER_00]: That is a unit effort.
- 44:42[SPEAKER_00]: And you can kind of find yourself, if you're not 100% confident that the guy next to you or your teammate is going to do their job, you might over pursue, you might try, this sounds silly and corny to say,
- 44:56[SPEAKER_00]: But you might try a little too hard and bring even, like, brought up Owen Heineke at the press conference yesterday about how his pre-snap diagnosis was so good that he was often there, like in the right spot, way too early, which technically means you're out of position to make the play.
- 45:11[SPEAKER_00]: And Owen Heineke, I think, was the team leader in tackles, but I thought,
- 45:15[SPEAKER_00]: really was one of the more sloppy players in the first half.
- 45:18[SPEAKER_00]: And again, that kind of goes back to I have a high standard for everyone, high-techy.
- 45:21[SPEAKER_00]: And he was one of the players who had the ability to get a turnover with a fumble recovery.
- 45:26[SPEAKER_00]: And he kind of to what Brent Middles was saying.
- 45:29[SPEAKER_00]: He was in the spot way too quick.
- 45:31[SPEAKER_00]: He tried to scoop it up way too quick.
- 45:32[SPEAKER_00]: And it just scored it out of his grasp.
- 45:34[SPEAKER_00]: And then Michigan was able to recover it.
- 45:36[SPEAKER_00]: Kick a field goal and go up 10 nothing before the half.
- 45:38[SPEAKER_00]: So it's something that needs to be addressed.
- 45:41[SPEAKER_00]: But I think
- 45:42[SPEAKER_00]: If what Brittman bulls said was true of just a lot of these guys that are talented that have been in the system for either a handful of months like Cole Sullivan or a handful of years like James Nesta, they just need to play more ball together and that should mean that hopefully by New Mexico on Saturday, you see a little bit more of a clean.
- 46:03[SPEAKER_00]: just a little bit more of a clean performance from the defense in terms of bringing guys to the ground, bringing ballcars to the ground when you meet them in the open field.
- 46:12[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe that could lead to a better defensive performance against Georgia because in order for this team to have any semblance of a chance to go into the Athens and get a win, the defense cannot have a quarter of sloppy play.
- 46:23[SPEAKER_00]: They cannot have a quarter of bad tackling.
- 46:25[SPEAKER_00]: So, I
- 46:26[SPEAKER_00]: I understand the players not really having an idea of what's going on because we all know that they're talented but I think Brent especially he knows defense and if it really comes down to these guys just simply need more reps together then that's just going to come with time hopefully that time comes soon or rather than later.
- 46:42[SPEAKER_03]: Well, it's the Lobo's here in a second, but I do have to open up our poor timing file and go to Ryan Aber, who's our resident number cruncher slash contract reader slash, please do it because I don't wanna have to go through the mumbo jumbo.
- 46:57[SPEAKER_03]: And on Tuesday night, the Oklahoma Board of Regents did come together and officially rubber stamp the contract extension for Brett Vinnables.
- 47:04[SPEAKER_03]: After a drudgeoning decline to offer what the buyout will be.
- 47:08[SPEAKER_03]: He basically said when it comes to public record, you'll have that.
- 47:12[SPEAKER_03]: This is not necessarily the Board of Regents fought Ryan because by the time it gets to the agenda they're basically just like, go team for the most part as far as that stuff goes, but what a time, what a time for that to come through here at Tuesday night.
- 47:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, no doubt about it.
- 47:26[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, Regents meetings are scheduled, you know, more than a year in advance, things like that.
- 47:33[SPEAKER_02]: So just the timing was a little bit unfortunate.
- 47:38[SPEAKER_02]: to have that come out this week, but also, you know, the schedule is set even farther in advance and, you know, not that you ever anticipate a loss, but, you know, it was just not maybe the the ideal situation, but as Roger Denny told you and a group of other local reporters,
- 48:02[SPEAKER_02]: You know, when you believe in somebody and Roger Denny has talked about this with Brent Minibles believing in him and his ability to not only lead the football team, but lead it through difficult times, then you can't just, you know, cut bait and overreact to one result.
- 48:22[SPEAKER_02]: In that respect, maybe it's a good timing for sort of setting the precedent of what Roger Dany wants to do.
- 48:30[SPEAKER_02]: But nobody wants to hear that this week.
- 48:33[SPEAKER_02]: Even though it was out, you know, what almost a month ago at this point that Brent Vennables has gotten the extension, nobody wanted to hear about the reasons why Brent Vennables got the extension.
- 48:46[SPEAKER_02]: It's just, hey, what are you gonna do about it, Brent?
- 48:50[SPEAKER_02]: To fix this?
- 48:51[SPEAKER_02]: And what is Roger Denny not going to do about it, but also what's his reaction to what's going on with the football program and some of the issues that they've had.
- 49:02[SPEAKER_00]: real quick real quick where I just wanted to say because we do a great job of pumping out stories and covering the team in the program whenever a pin drops and if there are a handful of other publications that also do a great job but you know you have to know there there are OU fans that are just not online they're not online they're happy with their lives and they worry about football when football season arrives
- 49:25[SPEAKER_00]: and OU loses to Michigan on Saturday and then a few days later they see preventables contract extended like I can just imagine the reaction of the the uninformed well I don't mean that in a rude way but the offline OU fan when they saw that news drop.
- 49:39[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, it reminds me also of every year when, you know, the Board of Regents raises the tuition, not that it's every year, but it seems like it's almost every year.
- 49:49[SPEAKER_02]: They raise the tuition and then at the same meeting, they have a, you know, a raise for Kagey Kinler, Patty Gasseau or,
- 49:59[SPEAKER_02]: Brent Venables or the coordinators things like that people always say, well, you know, these people are getting paid so much why why are we raising tuition things like that without realizing that they come from different pots and things like that.
- 50:12[SPEAKER_02]: People have a very narrow view of what they want to pay attention to and what they don't and I think that's important sometimes for us in the media the guys who are involved in it virtually every day if not every day to you know remember that not everybody.
- 50:31[SPEAKER_02]: not all of our readers are like that, even though a lot of them are, they're very tuned in, but sometimes we've got to take time to explain a little bit deeper what's going on for the people who, you know, just do a touching go and then, you know,
- 50:48[SPEAKER_02]: completely forget and there's no institutional knowledge there.
- 50:51[SPEAKER_03]: I do think it is kind of impressive that Oklahoma has gone two for two on negotiating against themselves across two different athletic directors and for Oklahoma fans, they hope that this extension that was too early for market reasons, they hope that it doesn't end up like the other season in a bright middleest extension here.
- 51:09[SPEAKER_03]: But in either way, it was Roger and I believe in Harvey
- 51:15[SPEAKER_03]: I thought the same thing and that was Roger Denny and President Joe Harris as far as that goes also a really cool thing in there totally aside other athletics note.
- 51:26[SPEAKER_03]: The continued renovations in building and performance that is being pumped into Kimory family stadium that's going to be as I'm sure everyone has seen by now.
- 51:37[SPEAKER_03]: the Toby Keith family performance center just kind of incredible there for what's going on at baseball with skip Johnsonmaker.
- 51:43[SPEAKER_03]: We'll get check back in with baseball here at a few months obviously, but that was the other big notable coming out of the board of region speeding Carson.
- 51:49[SPEAKER_03]: We need to get back to football though as the New Mexico logos are coming to town.
- 51:53[SPEAKER_03]: I think there can be a ton of people that are going to be tired by the end of the week with us being like, listen.
- 51:58[SPEAKER_03]: No one is saying Oklahoma is on upside alert.
- 52:00[SPEAKER_03]: No one is saying they shouldn't go out there and take care of business.
- 52:02[SPEAKER_03]: And if you have the expectation still to be an elite football team despite the setback, that's what the expectation should be.
- 52:08[SPEAKER_03]: But this is not you tap.
- 52:09[SPEAKER_03]: This is a very well-coached team.
- 52:12[SPEAKER_03]: Jason Eck is a name that's going to be bandied about every sink.
- 52:16[SPEAKER_03]: Like once we get another month into the season, and we start to see the carousel spin, like this is a guy to know because whether he stays in New Mexico or not, he's going to be a very popular that every Bruce Feldman,
- 52:27[SPEAKER_03]: So and so what's constant should call their old, uh, old player Jason that good and things like that and that's the kind of group that's coming in here to Norman on Saturday night.
- 52:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, this is a team that I used to cover Mountain West Athletics actually in New Mexico, always a basketball school.
- 52:43[SPEAKER_01]: That football program was kind of a laughing stock for a couple of decades.
- 52:47[SPEAKER_01]: And now they are arguably the team to be in the conference.
- 52:50[SPEAKER_01]: I'd say them in North Dakota state seem like the two front runners this year.
- 52:54[SPEAKER_01]: But very, very good defense.
- 52:56[SPEAKER_01]: Jason Eck has done a phenomenal job in that regard.
- 53:00[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm with you.
- 53:00[SPEAKER_01]: I don't see the sooner is being on up settler.
- 53:03[SPEAKER_01]: I think the talent gap is too high.
- 53:06[SPEAKER_01]: If this offense plays like it did against the Wolverines, I could easily see it turning into a game like Missouri or LSU last year.
- 53:14[SPEAKER_01]: Those games that, yes, so you won, but they won very, in a very ugly fashion.
- 53:19[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, New Mexico is a talented team.
- 53:21[SPEAKER_01]: You saw that UTF team week one.
- 53:23[SPEAKER_01]: That's a team that might win two wins if they're lucky this year.
- 53:28[SPEAKER_01]: That was a bad football team.
- 53:29[SPEAKER_01]: This is a good football team.
- 53:31[SPEAKER_01]: This is a team that would
- 53:33[SPEAKER_01]: Take down a decent amount of power for teams last year.
- 53:36[SPEAKER_01]: They went to the quick.
- 53:37[SPEAKER_01]: No, not not quickly.
- 53:38[SPEAKER_01]: Well, the guarantee and rate bull play new play Minnesota sent that game to overtime.
- 53:44[SPEAKER_01]: So I mean decent big tin school.
- 53:45[SPEAKER_01]: They certainly held their own and I mean, oh, you obviously a much higher talent pool.
- 53:50[SPEAKER_01]: Then Minnesota.
- 53:51[SPEAKER_01]: But these guys are good.
- 53:52[SPEAKER_01]: The defenses phenomenal.
- 53:54[SPEAKER_01]: Jack Lane.
- 53:54[SPEAKER_01]: They're starting quarterback out here before.
- 53:56[SPEAKER_01]: for the seasons, they've been rolling out a two-quarter back look, keeping defenses honest, which is pretty interesting.
- 54:02[SPEAKER_01]: And I mean, they've only played central Michigan and Mercyhurst at this point.
- 54:06[SPEAKER_01]: They've won both of those contest very handily though.
- 54:10[SPEAKER_01]: So I think it's definitely a challenge, but I'm with you, don't think it's up settler, but you want to see growth and you want to see it be what oh you should do from against a team from the group of six.
- 54:22[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, a trio of trips to the FCS playoffs for Jason Equin.
- 54:26[SPEAKER_03]: He was with Idaho, the second of those two were both quarterfinals.
- 54:30[SPEAKER_03]: He was six and two in conference play in every single year.
- 54:33[SPEAKER_03]: And Idaho last year at New Mexico Carson, like you said, that that's a bit of a fixer upper goes nine and four, six and two in conference play.
- 54:39[SPEAKER_03]: And Brady and I, both before the quarterback news, my dad, I'm sitting here, I've got our, you know,
- 54:47[SPEAKER_03]: preseason preview, preseason predictions all that in both Brady and I were new Mexico curious as far as that goes.
- 54:54[SPEAKER_03]: Also an added bonus this Ryan.
- 54:57[SPEAKER_03]: Jason, great, great press conference seems like he's like shot up there on the list of college football.
- 55:04[SPEAKER_03]: They're just like, we're going to, you know, hang out, have a beer or whatever.
- 55:07[SPEAKER_03]: We talked about earlier, a name of Oklahoma past.
- 55:12[SPEAKER_03]: I would like to evoke another one.
- 55:14[SPEAKER_03]: If you guys saw it, Jason Eck starts this week talking about, like, this is clearly going to be the most talented team on our schedule, because Carson was stuff to non-conference.
- 55:23[SPEAKER_03]: He talked about how it's like it would eat in fast food, and now we've been invited to the really nice steakhouse, and we're checking our wallet to make sure we don't get embarrassed, didn't want to make sure you can cover it, which was great.
- 55:33[SPEAKER_03]: I could not help but think Ryan,
- 55:36[SPEAKER_03]: This is the like, dude-stood version of the Tom Herman story of uh, I'm going to, like, Tom Herman, the Mensa, like, very punchable face, I'm going to go eat my burger because I can't afford this, even though if you do some of the looking at the time, he very much could have.
- 55:51[SPEAKER_03]: This is the Jason, the flip side of that of the, it could be the exact same story.
- 55:55[SPEAKER_03]: He's just like, I'm just hoping the local home picks up the tab and like, you know, that kind of thing.
- 56:00[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it, it, it,
- 56:03[SPEAKER_02]: similar vibes, but Jason Eck, much more likable presentation on it for sure, but that was one of the quotes of the year.
- 56:12[SPEAKER_02]: It was fantastic from start to finish and really like what he's doing with that program, Carson alluded to it.
- 56:21[SPEAKER_02]: This was a program that wasn't just
- 56:26[SPEAKER_02]: completely off the radar for most college football fans for a long time.
- 56:30[SPEAKER_02]: There's a reason why several people have said new Mexico state when they're talking about, you know, who, oh, use plan both the not separate.
- 56:40[SPEAKER_03]: Just the same person twice.
- 56:42[SPEAKER_03]: Not several.
- 56:43[SPEAKER_02]: fair enough.
- 56:45[SPEAKER_02]: But I think I said it like well before the season, just off the top of my head.
- 56:53[SPEAKER_02]: But what Jason Eck is done there has been phenomenal.
- 56:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, I don't think that they're going to, you know, pull off an upset this weekend.
- 57:01[SPEAKER_02]: But
- 57:02[SPEAKER_02]: It's a program that you have to prepare for.
- 57:04[SPEAKER_02]: You can't just move on to preparing for Georgia and think that you're going to be okay just to sleep walking through things.
- 57:14[SPEAKER_02]: Because it's a team that BUCLA last year, not that UCLA's a great program, but still a power conference team.
- 57:23[SPEAKER_02]: And then let's remember the last time that New Mexico beat a ranked opponent.
- 57:29[SPEAKER_02]: was two years ago, the number 19 team in the country, Washington State with an offensive coordinator named Ben Arbaugh and a quarterback named John material.
- 57:44[SPEAKER_03]: Different coaching staff on that sideline there.
- 57:46[SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, it should be should be noted.
- 57:50[SPEAKER_03]: We'll just run through this real quick.
- 57:51[SPEAKER_03]: The double quarterback, the two-quarter system.
- 57:53[SPEAKER_03]: Look, Moga, he's the, quote, unquote, pastor, I suppose, 70 to 26 on the year, 198 in three scores, Brady, to a 5A, 7 for 17 with 134, 1 touchdown.
- 58:04[SPEAKER_03]: He also has 11 rushes for 57 yards as far as that go.
- 58:08[SPEAKER_03]: They also have a deldozer type situation
- 58:13[SPEAKER_03]: third quarterback technically that gets tossed in there.
- 58:16[SPEAKER_03]: Scott Tray, Humphrey, the running back, 28 carries a buck 74, three touchdowns.
- 58:20[SPEAKER_03]: He's been pretty excellent.
- 58:21[SPEAKER_03]: And then got a tight-end Kade Keat that we talked about.
- 58:24[SPEAKER_03]: No kit bluest in the communication everything that the lineback has cheated.
- 58:27[SPEAKER_03]: Everyone's going to have to do.
- 58:29[SPEAKER_03]: I have to imagine, I don't know if it would be success or not, but with Kade Keat who's got five catches for 94 and a touchdown on the air.
- 58:35[SPEAKER_03]: He leads
- 58:36[SPEAKER_03]: the receiving portion of the global offense.
- 58:38[SPEAKER_03]: That's going to be a situation that Jason actually at least going to test that even if they can't pull that off and have a ton of success there on the defensive side of the ball for Oklahoma.
- 58:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and he absolutely should just because we saw what OU game planning, what we thought was for Michigan going into the U-TEP game and then the U-TEP like having the attitude of we're going to try and throwing out some funky formations, funky offense, weird guys going to motion stuff like that and it clearly confused Oklahoma partly because we didn't expect this A and B, we honestly probably didn't for the game plan that much during the week about it.
- 59:14[SPEAKER_00]: But it is what it is, but because of that, like if you're New Mexico and you're coming in as a heavy underdog, if you're coming in with really nothing to lose and you're trying to put your best foot forward, that's a pathway to success is to get this defense very talented, very fast, very aggressive, but
- 59:30[SPEAKER_00]: take advantage of what we've seen on film where they can be over aggressive and have poor tackling angles and poor tackling techniques as a result where guys can be slightly out of position because they're there too quickly.
- 59:43[SPEAKER_00]: Get them thinking and not reacting as much and not being the aggressor.
- 59:46[SPEAKER_00]: That's how you want to attack this defense.
- 59:48[SPEAKER_00]: Can New Mexico do that on a consistent down-to-down basis?
- 59:51[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, that's going to be a big challenge.
- 59:53[SPEAKER_00]: But it's a team sport, Ryan.
- 59:56[SPEAKER_00]: I know
- 1:00:00[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I mean, this is game 3 with a lot of these guys that haven't played a lot of ball of each other.
- 1:00:05[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to expect cleaner play just like we saw at the end of the second half against Michigan.
- 1:00:09[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to expect some cleaner play and if they're missing tackles against New Mexico, I mean, raise all the red flags you want about the rest of the season because at what point do you think that it will suddenly not be the case?
- 1:00:21[SPEAKER_00]: That's where those questions would come from, but it is a team sport.
- 1:00:25[SPEAKER_00]: The defense can have success, but as much as they want, but unless they just get a pick six on every single play or a scooping score on every single play, like the offense has got to do something.
- 1:00:36[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm not gonna sit here and say that New Mexico's gonna come in an upset Oklahoma, but I mean, I can remember a handful of times where OEs playing teams like Utah State, Air Force in 2010 where it is a nail biter in the fourth quarter for one reason or the other.
- 1:00:49[SPEAKER_00]: And sometimes it's just because the offense is still working things out.
- 1:00:53[SPEAKER_00]: at the very least, oh, that's all you, that's what you can say about this offense is that they are working through things that we thought that they were already working on in the offseason and during fall camp, they're still, it's still bleeding into the season.
- 1:01:04[SPEAKER_00]: So the defense can have all the success they want.
- 1:01:06[SPEAKER_00]: The offense has to score touchdowns at some point and they need to be held to that standard.
- 1:01:11[SPEAKER_03]: And Carson, I think this is like a legitimately interesting matchup when it comes to an Oklahoma office on the field.
- 1:01:17[SPEAKER_03]: The heart and soul of this Domexco team of Jason, actually, is the defense that it was a team last year that played really good team defense.
- 1:01:23[SPEAKER_03]: And though they're down a quarter back this year, the eight.
- 1:01:26[SPEAKER_03]: It was one of those that never good but not like a total panic because of their team identity.
- 1:01:31[SPEAKER_03]: You look at kind of at every level Mercury Swame first off just first team all name.
- 1:01:35[SPEAKER_03]: I appreciate it.
- 1:01:36[SPEAKER_03]: Love it.
- 1:01:37[SPEAKER_03]: He's the linebacker lead everything with 10 tackles.
- 1:01:39[SPEAKER_03]: You got Brett Carrhu two and a half sacks coming off the edge.
- 1:01:42[SPEAKER_03]: We get it not played anybody yet.
- 1:01:43[SPEAKER_03]: But this is a group where
- 1:01:45[SPEAKER_03]: The talent gap should be prevalent, carcin, but if Oklahoma is not fixing some of the communication stuff on the offensive line, if John Matthier's got the yips or starts like that, or anything like that, this is a defense that should be good enough that they're not going to succeed through that early.
- 1:02:02[SPEAKER_03]: They're going to have to play a good football and I think that we'll know if they're able to bounce back really quick, pretty early against the slowbo defense.
- 1:02:10[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think we will, too.
- 1:02:11[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, yes, Carrus Wayne, Jackson Act, they have some really good players, but as far as size, skill, they should be able to overpower them, regardless of how they perform to get the Wolverine's defense that composed of a lot of five and four star type of players.
- 1:02:27[SPEAKER_01]: New Mexico doesn't have that same level of talent but they are good.
- 1:02:31[SPEAKER_01]: So they are going to have to play clean football.
- 1:02:33[SPEAKER_01]: It's not like you tap.
- 1:02:34[SPEAKER_01]: That's going to run a bunch of zero blitzes every other play practically.
- 1:02:38[SPEAKER_01]: You're going to see some good coverage.
- 1:02:40[SPEAKER_01]: You're going to see some good past rush.
- 1:02:41[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, oh, use line has to be a whole heck of a lot better than it was in an arbor.
- 1:02:47[SPEAKER_01]: So this is a good test.
- 1:02:48[SPEAKER_01]: I'm really, I think
- 1:02:50[SPEAKER_01]: a lot of people are curious just what is bit our buckles response?
- 1:02:54[SPEAKER_01]: How does his play calling change?
- 1:02:56[SPEAKER_01]: Do they abandon the run?
- 1:02:58[SPEAKER_01]: What is easy and what is not easy?
- 1:03:00[SPEAKER_01]: I think a lot more because to break these point, if they can't do it this way, when are they going to be able to do it?
- 1:03:07[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, New Excos defense is good.
- 1:03:09[SPEAKER_01]: It's a good group of six defense.
- 1:03:12[SPEAKER_01]: It's probably 15th, 14th in the SEC though.
- 1:03:16[SPEAKER_01]: This conference has good defense after good defense.
- 1:03:19[SPEAKER_01]: So I mean, rest of the schedule is gonna be brutal and if they can't move it against New Mexico, who are they gonna be able to move it against?
- 1:03:26[SPEAKER_03]: going to put them above Arkansas in the SEC defense ratings at least so we can at least put it at 15.
- 1:03:33[SPEAKER_03]: You guys mentioned this was some conversation before the pod.
- 1:03:37[SPEAKER_03]: Brady and A were might be trying to go to a concert in Fayetteville at some point.
- 1:03:41[SPEAKER_03]: That might be the first time there's fans in that stadium based on some of the stuff that's running around social media.
- 1:03:46[SPEAKER_00]: So we just won't won't get arrested like Baker Mayfield though.
- 1:03:50[SPEAKER_00]: That's the plan.
- 1:03:51[SPEAKER_03]: You have to go lay the flowers down on the street corner.
- 1:03:55[SPEAKER_03]: We're going to try, Brady, and important clarification, uh, there is no try.
- 1:04:01[SPEAKER_03]: Only do.
- 1:04:01[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, that'll speak, we can speak for us.
- 1:04:04[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe not cursey.
- 1:04:05[SPEAKER_03]: Well, we'll see.
- 1:04:06[SPEAKER_03]: We'll see as far as that goes.
- 1:04:08[SPEAKER_03]: 630 this Saturday will all gather in Norman America for games three of the season.
- 1:04:14[SPEAKER_03]: we're not going to be disappointed whatsoever that that's going on at the exact same time as the land kiffin ball we're all going to just rattle through that and be a okay on a big date of college well it's a big one legitimately for Oklahoma not for like all this is a massive game who's going to win but need a big response heading into Georgia we can we will see if they get that next time you hear from us will be after that contest either on the field or up in the pressbox something like that from gala family Oklahoma moral stadium for the hockey cast
- 1:04:42[SPEAKER_03]: So, as long as you don't mess it up this time, hey, I got we are one for two.
- 1:04:47[SPEAKER_03]: We're Me, like Ben Arpugl's game plans one for two, but I didn't spend the whole offseason for praying for the Michigan pod.
- 1:04:53[SPEAKER_03]: So, maybe that's more there.
- 1:04:56[SPEAKER_03]: And before I get us in trouble, I'm going to leave.
- 1:04:59[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you to Brady Tray at the Friday of Recarsity for
