- 0:00Speaker 1: For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as
- 0:03Speaker 1: unto them. But the word preached did not profit them,
- 0:06Speaker 1: because their faith did not feed on the word. The
- 0:10Speaker 1: word of God is the life support of our faith.
- 0:13Speaker 1: We live by the word of God. Blessed be God
- 0:22Speaker 1: and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Ecclesiastes chapter 7
- 0:26Speaker 1: verse 11 says, Wisdom is good with an inheritance. Wisdom
- 0:35Speaker 1: is good with what? Inheritance. And by it, there is
- 0:38Speaker 1: profit to them that see the sun. Welcome to Faith Feed,
- 0:43Speaker 1: Episode 202, Wisdom with an Inheritance. Wisdom with Inheritance. King
- 0:53Speaker 1: Solomon did justice to introducing us to the perspective of
- 0:58Speaker 1: God's wisdom upon the face of the earth. And inasmuch
- 1:03Speaker 1: as the believer wants to accomplish anything in life, he
- 1:07Speaker 1: needs to seek diligently that wisdom from God. This is
- 1:14Speaker 1: necessary because even if God opens the eyes of your understanding,
- 1:19Speaker 1: as Ephesians chapter 1, 17 shows us, God can open
- 1:23Speaker 1: the eye of our understanding so that we know what
- 1:26Speaker 1: is the hope of our calling and what is the
- 1:28Speaker 1: riches of the glory of the inheritance, the inheritance itself.
- 1:31Speaker 1: That's our eyes are open to the inheritance of the saints.
- 1:35Speaker 1: If we lack the wisdom of God, we will not
- 1:38Speaker 1: be able to fulfill the purpose of an inheritance that
- 1:42Speaker 1: we have entered into. That's why Solomon said that wisdom
- 1:46Speaker 1: is good with an inheritance. Then the next verse now says,
- 1:51Speaker 1: for wisdom is a defense, money is a defense, but
- 1:53Speaker 1: the excellency of knowledge is that wisdom giveth life. So
- 1:56Speaker 1: he's still placing emphasis on On what? Wisdom. Proverbs chapter 1.
- 2:04Speaker 1: The Proverbs of Solomon, the son of David, king of Israel.
- 2:08Speaker 1: To know that these Proverbs, there are three major aspects
- 2:12Speaker 1: that is revealed. You need to, you see the first
- 2:14Speaker 1: thing is for you to know, to know wisdom. to
- 2:18Speaker 1: know wisdom and instruction to perceive the words of others
- 2:22Speaker 1: you need to know wisdom as a believer that means
- 2:25Speaker 1: you need to be able to identify what wisdom is
- 2:29Speaker 1: to differentiate what the wisdom of God is from what
- 2:33Speaker 1: the wisdom of men are that is why he said
- 2:36Speaker 1: that the fear of the Lord is what The beginning,
- 2:40Speaker 1: the beginning of wisdom. That introductory part, beginning, is what
- 2:45Speaker 1: we call the understanding of the fear of the Lord.
- 2:48Speaker 1: So this means in your inheritance, if you do not
- 2:50Speaker 1: have the understanding of the fear of the Lord, you
- 2:52Speaker 1: will not fulfill the purpose of that inheritance. So you
- 2:54Speaker 1: must know wisdom. You must learn to know wisdom. You
- 3:00Speaker 1: can only know God's wisdom when you are able to
- 3:03Speaker 1: see and study the patterns of God's operations. That is
- 3:07Speaker 1: the word of God. that's the only way you can
- 3:09Speaker 1: be able to successfully recognize and or come to the
- 3:14Speaker 1: knowledge knowing the bible says for the soul provost 19
- 3:17Speaker 1: verse for the soul to be without knowledge it is
- 3:19Speaker 1: not good it's not good so no wisdom the second
- 3:23Speaker 1: thing uh verse 3 says to receive so after you
- 3:26Speaker 1: know you have to come to the place of receiving
- 3:29Speaker 1: that is your heart has to be open to receive
- 3:33Speaker 1: remember the city that jesus could do no mighty works
- 3:36Speaker 1: he said that that was because they were hostile their
- 3:39Speaker 1: hearts were not open to receive him so when jesus
- 3:42Speaker 1: said seeing they will see but they will not perceive
- 3:44Speaker 1: hearing they will hear they will not understand he was
- 3:46Speaker 1: trying to refer to the fact that they cannot receive
- 3:49Speaker 1: because they have not come to knowledge because in order
- 3:53Speaker 1: to enter the path of receiving have a heart that
- 3:55Speaker 1: receives you must come to the knowledge of the truth
- 3:58Speaker 1: of wisdom Wisdom is not a secondary thing. It's a principle.
- 4:02Speaker 1: It's a primary thing and a primary objective of every believer.
- 4:06Speaker 1: You must be humble. God resisted the proud and what
- 4:11Speaker 1: gives more grace to the humble? Humility is one of
- 4:17Speaker 1: the virtues that one must embrace at this place of receiving.
- 4:21Speaker 1: The Bible says to receive the instruction of wisdom. So
- 4:25Speaker 1: wisdom has an... That means it only takes humility to
- 4:27Speaker 1: receive instruction. Exactly. So it's not just to have a mentor.
- 4:31Speaker 1: You must... Can you receive... Are you humble enough to
- 4:35Speaker 1: receive instruction of wisdom? To see justice and judgment and equity?
- 4:43Speaker 1: Are you humble enough to recognize these things? The third is,
- 4:48Speaker 1: verse 4, to give subtlety. To give. To give. This
- 4:53Speaker 1: is the major part of fulfilling the wisdom of God
- 4:58Speaker 1: in your life. The stability of your soul depends upon
- 5:02Speaker 1: this thing I'm talking about. Listen to my episode some
- 5:04Speaker 1: time ago on the stability of the soul. Yes. So,
- 5:08Speaker 1: to give subtlety to the simple, to the young man knowledge,
- 5:13Speaker 1: and discretion this is the ability to operate in what
- 5:17Speaker 1: both discernment and understanding this is how wisdom expresses itself
- 5:23Speaker 1: in your life sharpens your discernment more gives you the
- 5:27Speaker 1: ability to what prudence in the affairs of your life Now,
- 5:32Speaker 1: on what basis does these three things happen? That's to know,
- 5:36Speaker 1: to receive, and to give. He says in verse 5
- 5:39Speaker 1: that a wise man, this is the characteristics of a
- 5:42Speaker 1: wise man. He says a wise man will hear and increase.
- 5:47Speaker 1: That means the position, the posture of a wise person
- 5:50Speaker 1: is that he's always listening. First of all, remember when
- 5:53Speaker 1: I mentioned that for the soul to be without knowledge
- 5:55Speaker 1: is not good. Completing that verse, the Bible says that
- 5:57Speaker 1: he that hasteth with his feet sinneth. That means a
- 6:01Speaker 1: wise man is not someone that is hasty with his feet.
- 6:03Speaker 1: If you read the Ecclesiastes that we read where it
- 6:05Speaker 1: talks about wisdom of two verses before them, it says
- 6:08Speaker 1: that a man that is patient in spirit is better
- 6:11Speaker 1: than a proud man. That's why I talked about humility.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Because these are the pathway of embracing the wisdom for
- 6:19Speaker 1: an inheritance. Then he now says the verse before the
- 6:22Speaker 1: wisdom we can inherit. He says, say not what is
- 6:25Speaker 1: the cause of the former things that were better. Don't
- 6:28Speaker 1: say that the former days are better than these days
- 6:31Speaker 1: when you have not inquired wisely. When you have not what?
- 6:36Speaker 1: Inquired wisely concerning these things. For wisdom is good with what?
- 6:42Speaker 1: An inheritance. So he says that a wise man will
- 6:45Speaker 1: hear and increase in learning. Mark that. And then a
- 6:48Speaker 1: man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels. So when
- 6:55Speaker 1: you know, when you have the posture of knowing, of
- 6:58Speaker 1: receiving and of you, attain unto wise counsels. Blessed is
- 7:03Speaker 1: a man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly.
- 7:05Speaker 1: That means you will walk in the counsel of the godly.
- 7:09Speaker 1: in the pathway of wisdom. So the wise counsel are
- 7:12Speaker 1: the people that will show you, you know, the different
- 7:15Speaker 1: ways by which God can be pleased with your finances.
- 7:18Speaker 1: The people that you obtain wise counsel from are the
- 7:21Speaker 1: people that will let you see the importance of tithing,
- 7:24Speaker 1: of offering, of giving, of honoring people, your mentors, letting
- 7:28Speaker 1: you know that it's important to save. It's important to
- 7:31Speaker 1: have investments. You don't just stay one-sided. No. Wise counsel
- 7:36Speaker 1: helps you get balance. Helps you get what? Balance with
- 7:40Speaker 1: your inheritance. That's why wisdom with inheritance is good. Wisdom
- 7:45Speaker 1: is good with inheritance. So wisdom with inheritance, you need
- 7:51Speaker 1: the understanding of the fear of the Lord, humility, and
- 7:54Speaker 1: attaining wise, godly people around you for counsel and accountability system.
- 8:02Speaker 1: For wisdom is good with what? An inheritance. I remain
