- Lucas: Welcome back to Learn Norwegian with Fexingo. I'm Lucas. Luna: And I'm Luna. Ready for some more Norwegian? Lucas: Today we're going to talk about furniture and rooms. Things you have in your home. Luna: Oh, that's useful. I spend a lot of time at home, so I should know these words. Lucas: For sure. Let's start with the rooms. First up: stue. That means living room. Luna: Stue. Living room. Lucas: Good. And another important room: kjøkken. That's kitchen. Luna: Kjøkken. Kitchen. I like being in the kitchen. Lucas: Now let's add some furniture. A common piece is seng. That's bed. Luna: Seng. Bed. I love my seng. Lucas: And then bord. That's table. Luna: Bord. Table. Lucas: And stol. Chair. Luna: Stol. Chair. So I can say: stol, bord, seng. Lucas: Exactly. Now let's put them into full sentences. Listen: Jeg er i stua. Luna: Jeg er i stua. That means 'I am in the living room.' Right? Lucas: Yes. Jeg er i stua. Try it. Luna: Jeg er i stua. Lucas: Perfect. Now: Her er senga. Here is the bed. Luna: Her er senga. Here is the bed. Lucas: Great. And we can describe things. For example: Bordet er stort. The table is big. Luna: Bordet er stort. The table is big. Stort — that's the neuter form of stor, right? Lucas: Exactly. And Stol er liten. The chair is small. Luna: Stolen er liten. The chair is small. So liten for masculine nouns. Lucas: You've got it. Let's practice a bit. I'll say a word, and you say it back. Stue. Luna: Stue. Lucas: Kjøkken. Luna: Kjøkken. Lucas: Seng. Luna: Seng. Lucas: Bord. Luna: Bord. Lucas: Stol. Luna: Stol. Lucas: Now let's try a full sentence: Jeg er i stua. Luna: Jeg er i stua. Lucas: Her er senga. Luna: Her er senga. Lucas: Excellent. You know, if you find these lessons helpful and want to support us, we have a way you can do that. It's buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. Imagine you walk into your living room. What do you see? Luna: I see a bord and a stol. Lucas: And in the bedroom? Luna: Her er senga. And maybe a liten stol. Lucas: Perfect. Let's do a quick dialog. I'll ask: Hvor er du? Where are you? Luna: Jeg er i stua. Lucas: Hva er i stua? What is in the living room? Luna: Bordet og stolen. Lucas: Great. And if I ask: Hvor er senga? Luna: Senga er på soverommet. Oh wait, we haven't learned soverom. Lucas: That's okay. Soverom means bedroom. But you got the idea. Let's stick with what we have. Repeat after me: Bordet er stort. Luna: Bordet er stort. Lucas: Stolen er liten. Luna: Stolen er liten. Lucas: Senga er i stua. The bed is in the living room. That might be unusual, but it's a sentence. Luna: Senga er i stua. That works. Lucas: Alright, let's review all the words one more time. stue. Luna: Living room. Lucas: kjøkken. Luna: Kitchen. Lucas: seng. Luna: Bed. Lucas: bord. Luna: Table. Lucas: stol. Luna: Chair. Lucas: And the sentences: Jeg er i stua. Luna: I am in the living room. Lucas: Her er senga. Luna: Here is the bed. Lucas: Bordet er stort. Luna: The table is big. Lucas: Stolen er liten. Luna: The chair is small. Lucas: You did great today, Luna. Luna: Thanks, Lucas. This was fun. Now I can describe my home in Norwegian. Lucas: That's the idea. Keep practicing these words and sentences. See you next time on Learn Norwegian with Fexingo. Luna: Bye bye!
