Latest / Early Edition with Ryan Bridge / Ryan Bridge: The Restore Passenger Rail protestors will be back
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Bad news this morning for any productive, hard working, busy
- 0:04Speaker 1: members of our society. In other words, all of you
- 0:07Speaker 1: listening to the show this morning, Good morning. The climate
- 0:10Speaker 1: protesters who brought Wellington to its knees, remember that rush
- 0:14Speaker 1: hour traffic to a standstill. While they're going to be
- 0:17Speaker 1: back at it again soon, mark my words. You will
- 0:20Speaker 1: see more idiots gluing themselves to the motorways. You'll see
- 0:23Speaker 1: the map sailing down Mount Victoria, hanging signs from the gantries,
- 0:27Speaker 1: the roads closed, the police doing not what they should be,
- 0:32Speaker 1: basically chaos to start your day. Why the Crown has
- 0:35Speaker 1: walked away from, abandoned the prosecution of more than twenty
- 0:40Speaker 1: of these guys over the protests in Wellington. These guys
- 0:44Speaker 1: are now off on their merry little way. They're from
- 0:47Speaker 1: the Restore Passenger Rail group, remember them. Some were awaiting
- 0:51Speaker 1: retrial after juries couldn't come to a verdict on whether
- 0:54Speaker 1: they endangered transport. Hello, anyway, there's lots of hands that
- 0:58Speaker 1: should be in cuffs that will soon be covered in glue. Again,
- 1:02Speaker 1: how do we know this? They told us. One of
- 1:05Speaker 1: the nutters says he hopes the crown decision sets a
- 1:08Speaker 1: precedent that protesters won't be prosecuted for future climate change activism.
- 1:15Speaker 1: We had numpties sleeping in coal carts trying to shut
- 1:18Speaker 1: down the Stockton mine on the West Coast over easter.
- 1:21Speaker 1: Dangerous stuff, expensive stuff. I remember a woman stuck in
- 1:26Speaker 1: traffic on State Highway one, missing her chemotherapy appointment at
- 1:29Speaker 1: hospital because of these guys. Their point emissions are bad
- 1:35Speaker 1: for the climate, But tens of thousands of cars sitting
- 1:38Speaker 1: idle stuck in traffic while some climate hero gets us
- 1:42Speaker 1: five seconds of TikTok fame ab sailing onto a state
- 1:45Speaker 1: highway would surely, if anything, make those emissions worse. Also,
- 1:51Speaker 1: did you know they hire gas guzzling diesel vans to
- 1:54Speaker 1: ferry them to and from their stunts. Yeah, I found
- 1:57Speaker 1: that out after the fact. Hypocritical losers. Even Torri Farno
- 2:01Speaker 1: said they were dumb. Torri Farno, these people are not
- 2:05Speaker 1: about climate solutions, They're about themselves. I'm all for constructive
- 2:10Speaker 1: discussion on how our small country can play its part,
- 2:14Speaker 1: But every time I see an ambulance stuck in traffic
- 2:17Speaker 1: chalk just because of some unnecessary attention seeker like this,
- 2:21Speaker 1: it makes me want to let the planet burn just
- 2:22Speaker 1: despite them. Sadly, the rest of us can look forward
- 2:26Speaker 1: to dealing with much more of this in the months
- 2:29Speaker 1: and years ahead. For more familiar edition with Ryan Bridge,
