Latest / DMV Mess Hall / "No Love in the Tub" Episode 74
Transcript
- 0:00Hi folks, this is Rick Doc. Walker in DOC, this is John
- 0:03Kind, and you're listening to the mess hall with rally captain
- 0:07and Tailgate 10. What's going on?
- 0:10Rally. You made him back from Baltimore
- 0:12safely, man. How you doing?
- 0:15Yo, I'm excited. I really am.
- 0:20For what is in store for us fans as well as the team.
- 0:27I really am, man. I am too, man.
- 0:32And before we jump into what you saw from Baltimore, I got to ask
- 0:37you. I don't know where Owings Mills
- 0:39is. I've never even thought it was a
- 0:41place on the map. I thought it was kind of made-up
- 0:43like RAL John Maryland was. But you got a chance to go up
- 0:47there, and I know where you live.
- 0:49I'm not trying to put you on blast and let everyone else know
- 0:51where you are, but how early did you have to get up to be there
- 0:56for a 9:00 practice? And how many don't sleep
- 0:59energies did you chug on the way up 95 or whatever Rd. you were
- 1:03going to take to get out there? Well, first let me say this,
- 1:06because Don't Sleep is such a great product.
- 1:09I only needed one. They took good care of me.
- 1:12As far as that's concerned. I had to get up roughly about
- 1:175:30, you know, just to make sure that I was there on time.
- 1:21So you know, it, it, it, it, it. I waited a while, but
- 1:26nevertheless. It's about 5:30 sixish if you
- 1:30will, so you're up earlier than that for work.
- 1:34So I mean, I guess that's not too bad it.
- 1:36Was kind of like sleeping in a little bit but still when it's
- 1:39not working and it's pleasure don't sleep handle handle their
- 1:43business and I needed it and and it helped me out because I was I
- 1:49was excited already to trying to get up there and beat the
- 1:52traffic in the whole 9 yards and and.
- 1:56Once I got there, I'll just wait for another segment.
- 2:00How about that? I'm jealous, man.
- 2:02It it looked like a ton of fun, and we'll jump into that in a
- 2:06minute. But I want to talk about the
- 2:09Browns preseason game before we jump into what's been going on
- 2:12this past week. And for those wondering, it's
- 2:14Wednesday, August 16th at 4:30 that we're recording this.
- 2:18And if you're listening to this, odds are you watched some of the
- 2:21Browns game. Maybe if you didn't fall asleep
- 2:24during the rain delay, because that was frustrating.
- 2:28I didn't think that a preseason game could get dragged out in
- 2:31longer than it should. And then we had a hour to kill
- 2:35before that damn thing turned on.
- 2:37What did you actually do during the time you had to just got to
- 2:40sit around and wait? Deal.
- 2:43Probably 99.9% of everybody else did and watch this stupid show
- 2:48they had on TV. But you know, it reminded me.
- 2:54I think it was 201617, possibly when I went down to Tampa for a
- 3:01preseason game and they actually had, the game was gonna be on
- 3:07like on a Friday and they moved it.
- 3:10No, the game was gonna be on a Thursday.
- 3:12Moved it back to a Friday because of the hurricane, and
- 3:15sure enough. The game really wasn't delayed
- 3:18that that long, but it was delayed just for a minute if you
- 3:21will, because they were staying at a hurricanes coming and and
- 3:25torrential rain downpour. It was matter.
- 3:28I even made a live video. I have to go in my archives and
- 3:30and maybe pull it up, but it was crazy.
- 3:33Being down at the celebrity reminded me of.
- 3:35But luckily I was in the comforts of my own home and I
- 3:38didn't have to worry about anything foolish.
- 3:41Like that. But some fans did actually go to
- 3:44that game and and I was actually shocked because there was a
- 3:48young lady who I saw with a rapid heart tshirt on.
- 3:51Oh nice man. I got to give me one of those
- 3:54too if. You got a large line around.
- 3:56I'll see you on Monday at FedEx. But it reminded me of, I don't
- 4:02know if you remember a preseason game years ago against the
- 4:04Ravens where we actually had a rain delay at FedEx Field the
- 4:09preseason game and we got stuck and had to evacuate the
- 4:13concourse. And it wasn't as packed as a
- 4:15Beyoncé concert. But just imagine all these
- 4:19Baltimoreons and then a bunch of Washington fans hanging out in
- 4:23the lower level concourse. The amount of fights that broke
- 4:27out down that lower level concourse was insane.
- 4:30I. Was going to say that that
- 4:32doesn't bode with no, not at all because they had signs that they
- 4:36brought into the stadium of get your team out of our state and
- 4:39just all this other crap. This isn't Washington.
- 4:41It's Maryland. And just like to me, I I can't
- 4:44stay in Baltimore and I know you got to meet my man Captain
- 4:47Defense up there and I love Wes. He's a good dude to meet.
- 4:52People from Baltimore have little brother syndrome when it
- 4:55comes to DC. Our town is just more important
- 4:59than their town and we get the coverage.
- 5:02Their football team has been better than ours, but we still
- 5:03get more coverage than they do in my opinion.
- 5:06So they hate all us and you know it.
- 5:09It was interesting. But when I saw all those Browns
- 5:12fans in the dog pound, I could only imagine in my head like
- 5:16that Lady that you mentioned that was actually at the game.
- 5:19How many people are probably barking in her ear right now and
- 5:22she's just trying to get to her seat and watch this preseason
- 5:24game that means nothing and come back home to DMV.
- 5:29Well man, you know, maybe I'm a little biased, but they treated
- 5:34the captain pretty good when I was there, so it wasn't that
- 5:39bad. Maybe they just know who to pick
- 5:41on. I'm actually, I'm a firm
- 5:43believer of that. Other fans know who they can and
- 5:46can't pick on and and and for me, for whatever reason, I just
- 5:51don't get picked on. I may get talked about a little
- 5:54bit, but. After a couple times of me
- 5:57giving them a good little look, it is it stops like your mom in
- 6:01church to get that side eye, they they stop.
- 6:05To me, preseason is kind of amateur hour because you got a
- 6:09bunch of people that don't typically come to games, that
- 6:12got tickets to go to a game and I appreciate everyone that
- 6:14helped me out. I got tickets for a family of
- 6:17eight that's going to come out. They can't really afford to go
- 6:20to a game and they got a bunch of kids and they want to bring
- 6:22them out. So preseason is just, it's not
- 6:25your typical experience. And you obviously you don't see
- 6:28the starters play that much and the fans really aren't into the
- 6:31game as much because you don't even know some of the players on
- 6:34the field because it's a 90 man roster versus, you know, your
- 6:37regular 53. But one good thing that I saw
- 6:41during the game was the fact that our new owner was actually
- 6:45watching the game from the stands.
- 6:48And it made me wonder. What are the odds you and Josh
- 6:51Harris are going to be standing beside each other in those dream
- 6:54seats of yours for one of the Commanders home games and you're
- 6:58going to take a selfie with them and have him?
- 7:01And I know only players are allowed to, but maybe have him
- 7:04wear the chain. That is the goal.
- 7:07That is the goal to have new ownership, Kristen or well, me,
- 7:12Kristen, new new ownership with the chain.
- 7:16Dan said no. He told you no.
- 7:19He wouldn't put it on. He told me no, and so I stopped
- 7:23saying everything. I said no problem Dan, hey, you
- 7:26know he goes you want to autograph and I was like, Nah,
- 7:30I'm good. So, so we'll see if the new
- 7:33ownership the hard group puts on the rally chain and it would be
- 7:38something big if they do it because like I said I think it's
- 7:42a it's a good way of of christening.
- 7:45The fan base. Truly christening the fan base.
- 7:48It's almost like you're baptizing them when you put that
- 7:50chair over top of his neck and he sits there just in all of its
- 7:55glory with the sun shining down on them.
- 7:57And it was great to see him down there and not up in a box
- 8:01hanging out in the rain with his son, just watching the team.
- 8:06And that's not something that's I could ever say Dan did when he
- 8:12was here. I remember talking to him a
- 8:13couple times down on the field for pregame stuff when I was in
- 8:18Jacksonville for a game around Christmas time and other times.
- 8:22But he always had security around and he always had all
- 8:24these people around him, and you couldn't really get that close.
- 8:27And if you did, they looked at you up and down to make sure you
- 8:29weren't going to do anything crazy, like you were going to
- 8:31assault this man. And I know a lot of fans
- 8:33probably wanted to after a while, but it was just another
- 8:38thing that's just so refreshing to see with this new group, just
- 8:43engaging with the fan base. And that wasn't even our home.
- 8:45That was, you know, Cleveland. Yeah, I'm.
- 8:48I'm actually afraid to see him do that at FedEx.
- 8:52I really am. I mean, look at me wrong.
- 8:53There's a big part of me that wants him to, but then there's
- 8:55another part of me is would he really enjoy that?
- 8:59You know, like when he's walking down in Ashburn to training camp
- 9:05is roped off? And he can engage and disengage
- 9:08at any given time that he wants to.
- 9:10But at FedEx, if he didn't have any ropes around him, I mean,
- 9:14man, you know, maybe the first game he made you that.
- 9:17After that he's probably said enough of this man.
- 9:20But he seems like a very personable guy and I I look
- 9:23forward to to meeting all of them at some point in time.
- 9:27Well, he's he's also there to watch the game, and to me, you
- 9:30don't get a chance to watch the game if you do that.
- 9:33When I'm at the games, I got one headphone in listening to the
- 9:37radio call, and I'm other one just watching straight down the
- 9:40field. Missus Tailgate's got to bring
- 9:42friends, so she's got someone to talk to her because I'm not
- 9:44paying any attention to anything around me.
- 9:46I'm just looking straight at the field we got. 4 tickets she puts
- 9:50up with a lot. Then she really does.
- 9:52We got four tickets just so she can invite two other friends to
- 9:55go to the game because I'm not chatting with her or talking to
- 9:58her and to me if if I'm, you know, Josh Harris, I don't want
- 10:02to talk to fans. I want to watch, you know what I
- 10:04paid for $6 billion and see what's going on.
- 10:08And from what I saw against the Browns, I would wonder if I
- 10:13could get my, you know, like 30 day money back guarantee if I'm
- 10:18Josh Harris. Just because that offensive line
- 10:22and the first team defensive line who was supposed to be a
- 10:25strength of this team, they got out hustled, they got outplayed.
- 10:30We constantly heard, well, they're not going to be going up
- 10:33against their teammates, they're going up against someone
- 10:35different. Well, they went up against
- 10:37someone different and the first team offensive line did not look
- 10:41good and the defensive line just let Deshawn Watson carve them up
- 10:46like it was a hot knife through butter.
- 10:49And on top of that, they didn't even have their number one
- 10:51running back, Nick Chubb and their number one defensive
- 10:55lineman and Miles Garrett in and they still got pressure on Sam.
- 11:00Curious what your thoughts were watching the first name O&D.
- 11:04I didn't like it. I didn't like it at all.
- 11:06It seemed as though it it took them to get their butts on the
- 11:09goal line to say, oh, we're actually playing a football game
- 11:14or or and and and it Maybe I'm wrong.
- 11:16But it seemed as though hey, we're we're the number one
- 11:22defense. We can do anything.
- 11:24Oh wait a minute. We're actually, we are actually
- 11:27playing a game or the excuse that I heard was.
- 11:31Well, you know, we didn't really scheme anything up, but at the
- 11:34same time, defense is mano Y mano.
- 11:38You beat your man, go find the ball, tackle the ball, ball
- 11:42care. And it didn't happen.
- 11:45And so I was a little frustrated.
- 11:48But I will say that I do see a light at the end of the tunnel
- 11:54and I'll get into that probably in our next segment, but.
- 11:57As far as the Browns game is concerned, I was a little
- 12:00disappointed. So I was happy that we won.
- 12:06But we all know that there's no such thing as preseason champs,
- 12:10so I just want to see better and and I did see better.
- 12:15So yeah, that, that one, that one's done.
- 12:19We sweaked away with the win. It's done.
- 12:22Now we're moving on to Baltimore and we got out of the game
- 12:26relatively healthy, Chase Self reported.
- 12:29Stinger and Federian Mathis got banged up I think on the same
- 12:33play that Chase got banged up. But one thing that I did see
- 12:37that was good and I went back and watched the all 22 footage
- 12:41and Mark Bullock, who was a great follow on Twitter.
- 12:44By the way, for any Commanders fans out there, if you get a
- 12:48chance, go back and sign up for Mark Bullock's stuff.
- 12:52I'll put it on our YouTube page so you can find them.
- 12:55It's Mark Bullock, BULLOCKNFL. He had a great breakdown of Sam
- 13:01Howe, didn't cost anything to sign up for his page and he goes
- 13:05through and talks about Sam's decision making and what he saw
- 13:11and who. He has video clips and has all
- 13:14this stuff to back it in those video clips and the types of
- 13:17routes the receivers are running and why Sam went here versus
- 13:20going here during different plays.
- 13:23And the part that was great was Sam's decision making where he
- 13:28actually went with the ball and what he decided to do.
- 13:31The only time that really he didn't fare well was that sack
- 13:35that he gave up and that was on Sam.
- 13:38He held the ball way too long, but he had, let's see here, a
- 13:43quarterback rating of 119.1. He was 9 for 1277 yards, had a
- 13:49touchdown, and you and I were texting back and forth about it.
- 13:53I'm glad he had a touchdown just so we can pass some stats.
- 13:56Let's be realistic, It was against the second team.
- 13:59Defense rounds have already taken their starters out that
- 14:02we're playing, so I kind of don't give it a ton of credit
- 14:07from that standpoint, but it was still a beautiful route by
- 14:09Jahan. It was still a nice throw by Sam
- 14:13and he made the right read, and Rivera reaffirmed that in his
- 14:18press conferences since then, saying the decision making on
- 14:21where Howl is going is what's important.
- 14:24And we played Clips a couple weeks back on say, I'm saying
- 14:28how he has, what's his total command of the offense?
- 14:32I'm thinking it's kind of hard to believe from a guy that's in
- 14:37a brand new system, in a wordy system such as Eric B.
- 14:40Enemies. But there was an article in the
- 14:43Washington Post that I read this past weekend.
- 14:44I want to say it was by Sam Fortier talking about how the
- 14:49actual lingo, the words that the enemy uses, are somewhat
- 14:54identical to the words that how and Diami Brown used back in
- 14:59North Carolina. So seeing that now I can
- 15:03understand why he does have a better grasp of this offense.
- 15:08Because it is new for ten other guys, but for him, it's almost
- 15:14like he got held back in class and he already knows what's
- 15:17coming up on the test because it's already been through part
- 15:19of this through three years of college.
- 15:22So I'll. Take it.
- 15:23I'll take that though. Same here.
- 15:25And with that being said, we did not game plan for the Browns.
- 15:30They're not going to do that. So what can you take out of a
- 15:34preseason game? You get through it healthy and
- 15:38hopefully you see your guys step up when it comes to one-on-one
- 15:42stuff And the defensive line, they they got shook and I think
- 15:46they kind of woke up. And what we have seen the past
- 15:51two days, and I want to talk to you about this specifically now,
- 15:54the defensive line and the offensive line appeared to have
- 15:58stepped things up once they got to that fictitious land Owings
- 16:01Mills up there in Maryland when they practice against the Ravens
- 16:05on Tuesday and Wednesday. So this is what I'm happy to
- 16:12report back to you about. So it's this is going to be
- 16:15twofold if you will what I'm happy and what I noticed so
- 16:23initially going into the facility which is a phenomenal
- 16:28facility, it really lets me know.
- 16:32How a sponsor as well as an owner can put their money to
- 16:36great use and the collaboration with Under Armour and the
- 16:42Ravens. I walked in and that whole brick
- 16:45inlay of of how their headquarters was, I just was in
- 16:50awe. I really was.
- 16:52I liked how they had to set up with their fields.
- 16:54They had basically three bleachers, one on either side in
- 17:00the end zone view. And man Ted, it was it was just
- 17:04it was very nice and this is probably the last thing time you
- 17:07hear me talk bad about Dan Schneider but it just goes to
- 17:10show you where he where he didn't put his money into
- 17:13obviously because it's night and day and experience period you
- 17:18didn't and put any money into. It it's just night and day and
- 17:21so that's the last thing I'm I'm going to attempt to to bring up
- 17:25the past. So not going into the good news.
- 17:29You want the good or the bad first?
- 17:30Which one you want? Let's start with the bad, so we
- 17:33can end with a good. OK, this is what I saw as far as
- 17:37the bad is concerned. The bad is when we're doing 11
- 17:44on 11 drills. The lineman, if you will, not
- 17:49defense with the offense they have an issue with.
- 17:54Not the person who he's head up with, but the person that's to
- 17:58the left or to the right of them and.
- 18:01Yes, that's what I saw then that that was the bad.
- 18:06Now if I want to talk about the good, which made me bring my
- 18:12thought process process back for what everyone's talking about,
- 18:16his offensive line when it came down to one-on-one drills
- 18:20against the Ravens, those guys handled their business and I was
- 18:26amazed at how they weren't letting.
- 18:30The defensive guys get close to not the quarterback, but the
- 18:34coach who was acting as a quarterback during the position
- 18:37drills. So I said to myself, wow, if
- 18:42they can do this in a game, they won't have any problems.
- 18:45But then that's that's the bad. The coach needs to get them
- 18:49coached up better for for stunts and awareness, because that
- 18:55seems to be where the problem was.
- 18:57One-on-one I had I have all the faith that these guys can do
- 19:00what it needs to be done. But what happens when that guy
- 19:03comes from the left or from the right of you, You know, what do
- 19:07you do then? And I think that it creates a
- 19:10gap. It make me, they make me miss an
- 19:12assignment if you will, to where that linebacker can shoot up or
- 19:17another guy can can loop around him, the the end can loop around
- 19:20him and do something different. So that's what I saw one-on-one
- 19:24though man. I have no doubt that these guys
- 19:25can handle their business. As far as the QB is concerned,
- 19:30Sam impressed me. He really did.
- 19:33And Ted, I got to tell you that for the first time in a long
- 19:39time, I feel that we are going to be okay man.
- 19:43I really do. Based upon what I saw in
- 19:46Baltimore now, I think that there's a, there's a part of me
- 19:51that wishes that we could play Baltimore.
- 19:55For the last game of the season, for preseason versus
- 19:59back-to-back after these practices.
- 20:01And I say that because you've been out there for two days with
- 20:04these guys now. They kind of know your
- 20:07tendencies, if you will. So we're not really going to
- 20:09get, I don't feel a good interpretation of what a game
- 20:14would be like because they've seen what you've done for the
- 20:17last two days. They know you.
- 20:19They know how you, they know how you line up.
- 20:21They know all that type of stuff.
- 20:23So if maybe if they could, if I got it a little bit, it was the
- 20:26last game, if you understand what I'm saying.
- 20:28Yeah, no, I hear you. It's just the last pre season
- 20:30game you you typically won't see your starters.
- 20:32So the issue is that Bengals game, I mean talk about
- 20:37Snorfest, that you know you're going to have guys fighting for
- 20:39their NFL careers which is great and we'll definitely have some
- 20:43players, commanders, players that you know you shouldn't
- 20:45sleep on sponsored by Don't Sleep Energy.
- 20:48But I had a chance to watch it. On the Ravens feed.
- 20:52So if anyone listening to this has not had a chance to see it
- 20:56you can go to YouTube and the Ravens have the entire practice
- 21:01on their YouTube channel. It is 2 hours and you are stuck
- 21:05listening to a couple of Ravens commentators talk about their
- 21:09team and Jack their team up and defend their team when they body
- 21:14slammed Danny Johnson and bunch of stupid fights happened.
- 21:17But you got to see what Rally's talking about.
- 21:20There was an overhead shot where you have 5 offensive linemen and
- 21:23you've got the defensive line in front of them and you know who
- 21:27was actually rushing at that point.
- 21:29And the offensive line is basically like rally saying mano
- 21:32a mano against the guy in front of them.
- 21:33But the D line can shift and do a stunt and move side to side
- 21:38versus just coming head on at you.
- 21:39And there were a couple times where our guys went after the
- 21:41same person and it was kind of shocking to see.
- 21:46One good thing was. That I saw out of this.
- 21:51The 11 on elevens were all shown on this feed.
- 21:55If anyone wants to see it you can catch it.
- 21:58I was impressed by Manuel Forbes man, just seeing him step up in
- 22:04that Browns game on the goal line and then seeing him cover
- 22:10Odell Beckham. And granted OBJ isn't the same
- 22:14OBJ from couple years ago, but. If you watched a screenplay that
- 22:19he caught and he just turned on The Jets during 11 or elevens
- 22:24against us on Tuesday, he still has some speed.
- 22:27And there were a bunch of times where he had a step or two on
- 22:31Forbes. Forbes just turned on another
- 22:35gear, he hit that nitrous button or whatever the hell it was, and
- 22:40he was there and deflected and broke up a bunch of those passes
- 22:44and he didn't even turn around. And that's been something.
- 22:47That has concerned me, watching him practice.
- 22:50But he's watching the receiver's eyes and he's watching their
- 22:53hands. And the second their hands go up
- 22:56is the second he reacts and he immediately knows that ball's
- 23:00going to be there and knocks it away.
- 23:02And he did it again today and it was basically bang, bang balls
- 23:06there. He's there.
- 23:07And I had some concerns about young man being able to just be
- 23:13physical. There was one point where one of
- 23:16the Ravens players took a cheap shot at him and he just gave him
- 23:20a couple of, you know, 1-2 threes and just started using
- 23:23his helmet as a punching bag and just wasn't taking it, man.
- 23:27And I thought that we were going to get pushed around by
- 23:31Baltimore. The Ravens are a perennial
- 23:35playoff team. They're a really good physical
- 23:39team and we have not been, but these guys held their own.
- 23:44The past two days in Baltimore, from what I saw, from everything
- 23:48I read and I am impressed. Much like you, I think that
- 23:55we're there. But I'm going to, I'm going to
- 23:57put a caveat, man. I absolutely love what I'm
- 24:04seeing in Sam Howe. Absolutely love it.
- 24:07He has an arm. He can make every single throw.
- 24:11He's got the head on his shoulders to do what he needs to
- 24:13do. I am just terrified of those
- 24:18five guys in front of him and maybe the three guys in the
- 24:24middle the most In regards to O K2 guys, Gates and your left
- 24:29guard. Because Sadiq Charles did not
- 24:32play against the Browns, you had Chris Paul go in.
- 24:36Charles has been banged up for quite some time.
- 24:39Charles practiced on Tuesday against the Ravens and actually
- 24:42did a damn good job. That's pretty much, yeah.
- 24:46That's who I was watching. Considering he has not practiced
- 24:49or done anything. He's now going up against
- 24:51Baltimore's defensive line and he's actually holding his own.
- 24:55Today, Wednesday, they took him out.
- 24:59He didn't make the entire practice because he got banged
- 25:02up again. This young man's health and
- 25:05inability to be available is a huge concern.
- 25:10And Chris Paul to me. Has not proven that he is left
- 25:15starting left guard material and now you've got the team trying
- 25:20Tyler Larson your backup center and was it strong about I always
- 25:25get the guys name wrong our new rookie center moving him over at
- 25:29center and I get that you have to do that for position flex and
- 25:33you don't want to have a center just be a center.
- 25:36But now your backup other guard idea is 2 backup centers to move
- 25:42over. And protect Sam's blind side.
- 25:45Yeah that's not good and I think the dealers with the Charles is
- 25:53I realistically it's one of those things to where they are
- 25:57giving him more than enough time because they don't want it to be
- 26:01a situation where what if we just would have you know and he
- 26:06possibly goes to another team and balls out and but we had the
- 26:10guy on our roster at the same time.
- 26:15You know dude if you can't stay healthy I mean we we're going to
- 26:19have to unfortunately let you go And that's the bad thing about
- 26:23the business at football. You know you get no love being
- 26:29in the tub and that's just how it is man.
- 26:32So I wanted, I wanted to tell you, Ted, that you know everyone
- 26:36views the Ravens as the standard, if you will.
- 26:40So I'm gonna just say let's say Baltimore is a nine.
- 26:44Okay. Let's just just for just
- 26:45throwing out a number Baltimore is a nine.
- 26:47Their standard is a nine. In years past commanders
- 26:53standard would have probably been a six and a half to seven
- 26:59this year. And I'm gonna say this, if
- 27:04Baltimore's standard was a nine, I view the commanders at an 8 to
- 27:10an 8.5 based upon what I saw. So we're close and we just got
- 27:20to shore up some things and this can turn into a hell of five
- 27:24ball club it it man. Dead and and and our listeners
- 27:30and viewers. This club we can turn into a
- 27:34great thing. We just got to show up a couple
- 27:37things and if we do look out, man, look out.
- 27:43I I definitely agree with you and to me it's the Eric Bienni
- 27:48effect. Our team has been just
- 27:54practicing hard and playing tough against each other all
- 27:58camp. We get to Baltimore.
- 28:01We didn't let them push us around.
- 28:03We didn't let them be a bully against us.
- 28:06We stepped up and they punched. We punched right back.
- 28:11Sometimes we actually did punch right back.
- 28:15And a couple of the commentators were saying, oh, well, it kind
- 28:19of isn't fair because the Ravens don't practice till 2:00 in the
- 28:22afternoon and they're actually practicing at 9:00 in the
- 28:25morning now because that's when the commanders practice.
- 28:28Give me a break, man. And this was on the stupid
- 28:30Baltimore feed that I got stuck listening to.
- 28:33And actually, I think Rocket Ishmael was on with JP&B Mitch
- 28:39talking about circadian rhythms and basically giving an excuse
- 28:44as to why some of the players didn't seem to have as much
- 28:47energy as the Commander's players.
- 28:49Because they practice in the afternoon and we practice in the
- 28:51morning. Shut the hell up.
- 28:53You guys knew that We were going to be practicing, you guys.
- 28:56For how many months? Now, if your players weren't up
- 29:00to the task, don't give us that crap excuse.
- 29:03Our guys stood toe to toe with you and you were a little
- 29:07embarrassed about it. Let's be real.
- 29:10That's what it boils down to. So, So what?
- 29:11That's being said. Let's say the games played in
- 29:14London or Germany, where there's a time change.
- 29:17Are you going to say that our guys didn't play well because of
- 29:21the time change in London or are you going to go out there and
- 29:23play a football game? We don't want to hear these
- 29:26excuses. Come on.
- 29:28It was crazy and seeing the Ravens fans actually say the
- 29:31same thing and I was watching it on my cell phone.
- 29:33So it was driving me crazy because I was trying to disable
- 29:35the comments going through on the feed on YouTube because
- 29:38everyone you know before all the comments were sell the Team F,
- 29:41Dan Snyder, fire Bruce Allen. Now it was all the comments
- 29:45about the Ravens fans making fun of our name and oh, this isn't
- 29:48fair. Lamar wouldn't be woken up yet.
- 29:50He'd still be sleeping, hanging out in his bed.
- 29:53You know, that's why he didn't make this pass.
- 29:54Like, no, he didn't make this pass because Emanuel Forbes was
- 29:57there. No, he didn't get to do this
- 29:58because Deron Payne was in his face.
- 30:02Our defensive line stepped up. And if.
- 30:08If we didn't get to see this joint practice versus the Ravens
- 30:11and all we got was them not showing us a good performers
- 30:17against the Browns, I would be concerned.
- 30:20Same same definitely. And that's what I was saying
- 30:23going into the going into the joint practices, I was saying to
- 30:26myself, oh man, here we go. But obviously Coach got them
- 30:32ready or maybe even got themselves ready.
- 30:35I I don't know. But when it came down to it,
- 30:37they were ready and they performed and and like you said,
- 30:40I was happy to see fours going up against OBJ and sticking with
- 30:46them. Like I said, I'm not going to
- 30:48say that we're a nine just yet. We're to me, we're at 88.5 to a
- 30:53nine shrub. Those little things, we can
- 30:58become a nine and surpass at 9 and go to a 10.
- 31:01It's going to take a minute. We're not there yet, so don't
- 31:04say, Cap said. We're not there yet.
- 31:06We we we've got some. We talked about the holes.
- 31:08We talked about what needs to be shored up.
- 31:10If they can get it done, we'll be Okay and we.
- 31:14I think what what what they say we're only going to win six
- 31:17games, 6.5 games. Six and a half.
- 31:21Oh oh bro, I see it surpassing that easy.
- 31:25And with that being said, my bet MGM is going to come right on
- 31:29through because they they they underplay.
- 31:33That's big time. I'm I'm not as excited about you
- 31:38around the entire just because it's still too big a question
- 31:42mark with offensive line. But the good news is the enemy
- 31:47can scheme around that. And one thing I also saw during
- 31:51that Browns game is you have a first time play caller, Eric the
- 31:54enemy, which is a good thing and a bad thing.
- 31:59Opposing teams defensive coordinators don't know what to
- 32:01expect with him, but he is also going to take some time getting
- 32:07into rhythm calling plays for the Washington commanders, not
- 32:13for the Kansas City Chiefs. And there were a lot of plays
- 32:17that when I'm going back and watching it, oh, I can see why
- 32:21he called that if he had the Chiefs.
- 32:23That he's calling that play for. But some of those past plays and
- 32:26some of those screens were so long developing that it just
- 32:30took too much time and we couldn't do that.
- 32:32And to me, the enemy is going to learn the strengths and
- 32:37weaknesses of our starters and know what and what not to call.
- 32:43And he can hide some of the, I guess, just inefficiencies of
- 32:49our own lie. To a degree.
- 32:51And Sam can do that as well with his legs.
- 32:54We saw how he stretched out of play and hit Cole Turner on that
- 32:584th down and was able to get that first just by buying time
- 33:02with his legs. And he's going to have to do
- 33:05that. It's going to be a combination
- 33:07and if we can get that to happen and stay healthy, then I'm right
- 33:13there with you, man. That's 6 1/2.
- 33:15That to me is a nobrainer and I definitely put some money down
- 33:18on it and you know, people. Like to always say there hasn't
- 33:21been a repeat NFCE winner in, what, 20 years?
- 33:2620 years. We're winning the East.
- 33:28I'm just saying, you know, Sam is legit.
- 33:33Johan is legit. Terry is legit.
- 33:37I'll tell you somebody else who surprised me, Excuse me if
- 33:39you're interrupting you. Somebody else who surprised me
- 33:42is per second spin that ball, man.
- 33:45I heard it in the stands and that was amazing to me before
- 33:51seeing him, you know, you see him in practice, you see him in
- 33:54Ashburn. But the being there in Baltimore
- 33:57in the stands, I heard that ball and he put some zip on it and it
- 34:02surprised me. It really did.
- 34:04I was like, is this the same guy that I that I've seen?
- 34:08But because I also how their practice field was, we were
- 34:12closer than normal, if you will and so you could hear that ball
- 34:18and Terry, Terry was talking cash trash.
- 34:21I'm not sure they showed it but Terry was saying all day, all
- 34:25day. I mean he was talking cash trash
- 34:27and and he even started cussing and I was like I can't I haven't
- 34:31heard Terry cuss. I don't think I've ever heard
- 34:34Terry cuss. But he was into it and he says
- 34:37it's going to be open all day. We coming for you all day that
- 34:40you know talking cash trash. And so I love to hear that.
- 34:43I love to hear that man. That's all.
- 34:46Are you sure Reset didn't have one of those Nerf footballs that
- 34:48had that little whistle inside when you threw it?
- 34:51It just made that sound. No, it it was amazing.
- 34:56It really was. I got to tell you that.
- 34:59I'm just so pumped, man. I really AM.
- 35:02And I know we got to go through the preseason to get the regular
- 35:05season, but God dog it. I'm ready to see people and and
- 35:12our team back at FedEx Field. Speaking of which, I know it's
- 35:15only a preseason game. What do you think of the crowds
- 35:18going to be on Monday? Because it's a Monday night, I
- 35:23don't think it's going to be as crazy as it should be just
- 35:27because people got to work. But because it's Baltimore
- 35:31versus Washington, it's going to be packed, man.
- 35:34There's going to be a ton of fans out there.
- 35:36I just don't know the mix. I don't know if it's going to be
- 35:396040 US versus them. Or what?
- 35:42Because on top of that, I don't think Lamar's playing.
- 35:45I'm not sure if they're actually going to be giving him reps.
- 35:48I I thought I heard them talk about that on their broadcast
- 35:51where you're not really seeing him during the preseason because
- 35:54they just want to save him. And I don't blame him.
- 35:56I mean, the way John Allen and Deron Payne were busting through
- 36:00their offensive line and getting to him, I can see them not
- 36:04wanting to start Lamar and play that game.
- 36:07But I can tell you I am looking forward to being back at FedEx
- 36:10Field and I get it's a preseason game and they haven't made a
- 36:14bunch of improvements, but supposed to have new speakers,
- 36:19new ribbon boards, just all the stuff going on man.
- 36:23And I'm just, I'm excited to be back there with everybody.
- 36:29But before we jump to that real quick, the one last thing that
- 36:32concerns me a little bit is. Towards the end of practice, and
- 36:38this was out of the arc of the Washington Post said both teams
- 36:42were cognizant of what they put on display and after the fights
- 36:45during one on ones they shifted to a team period that did not
- 36:48include full speed rushing from Baltimore's defensive line.
- 36:53The emphasis instead was on the coverage and route concepts and
- 36:56decision making for Sam Howe. So all of this iron sharpens
- 37:01iron. Well, now you are having the
- 37:03Ravens defensive line. Not actually provide a legit
- 37:08pass rush in 11 or 11 drills against our offensive line.
- 37:14Well, okay. So two things with that.
- 37:17I'm okay with that actually and the reason why I say I'm okay
- 37:20with that is because it just gives Sam more of a mental note
- 37:25of where he needs to go with the ball in certain situations.
- 37:29So and they said, remember that the purpose of this practice was
- 37:34it's going to be more scripted so that you're going to see
- 37:38things of that nature. And to me it just falls right
- 37:42into what they said they were going to do.
- 37:45We saw them practice goal line, we saw them practice you know
- 37:48one O 1, we saw them practice routes.
- 37:50So this is just another one of those things where we as fans
- 37:54may not like it because it doesn't give us much, but it
- 37:58gives Sam what he needs and if it works for him, then I'm cool
- 38:03with it. Because realistically, can you
- 38:06really get it done if someone's always in your face and you
- 38:09can't understand the concept, so to speak.
- 38:12So I'm. I'm cool with them backing off a
- 38:14little bit to allow him to say, oh, this is where the ball
- 38:17should go or yeah, I do see, I understand now and you know, and
- 38:21I I don't think that you would get the same effect, if you
- 38:25will, if they were just tackling him.
- 38:28And I know it's not a game, but at the same time you learn by
- 38:31practicing and so. I hear you.
- 38:35It's just to me, the position group that needs the most work
- 38:39is offensive line. You're not, You're not going to
- 38:43get it going against, you know, 3/4 speed, you know, half speed
- 38:49against these guys coming at you in what's supposed to be a team
- 38:53drill. And because you don't want
- 38:55another fight to happen. Because Nick Gates should have
- 38:58actually been a pro wrestler instead of a starting center.
- 39:01And you're worried that something's going to go on and
- 39:04you just want to get the work done.
- 39:05And Gates was quoted that he looks to instigate and start
- 39:10things with opposing players and does it on purpose because he
- 39:14knows how to shut it off and make sure he doesn't cross that
- 39:17line. I hope he's right.
- 39:19And I hope that's the case because all I'm seeing from that
- 39:24young man is he doesn't like to wear shirts and he likes to
- 39:27throw his dress. He doesn't like to wear shirt.
- 39:31I couldn't believe when I saw him walk out of the locker room
- 39:33and he just walked like, hey, hey, what's up, you know?
- 39:38But, but, so Ted, man, I I hear what you're saying.
- 39:42I I really do. But we Sam's got to know where
- 39:48to put the ball and I would rather him learn this way.
- 39:54And possibly because we want to stay away from the ibug, we
- 39:59wanna stay away from that ibug. So there's also a way of them
- 40:02dialing it down to where both teams won't catch the ibug.
- 40:08So I'm trust me bro, I'm okay with it.
- 40:11As long as they got something out of it.
- 40:14That's the biggest thing. If they get something out of it
- 40:17now, if they didn't get anything out of it, then you're right, it
- 40:19was a waste of time. But the main thing is getting
- 40:22something out of it, going back on tape and saying okay.
- 40:25You saw this many people rush or you saw this coverage.
- 40:28Why did you go there? Why did you do this?
- 40:31And if he can answer it, and I think that that mentally it's
- 40:35already speed up in his head. He just needs to make sure that
- 40:38he's doing the right thing. And I have full faith that he
- 40:43will be able to do that. Yeah, I'm with you, man.
- 40:46I'm a howl believer. I'm not saying I'm part of the
- 40:49how high, but I I believe in this young man and I know that
- 40:54he can do what the enemy is asking him.
- 40:58But talking about that eye bug, how concerned are you that Logan
- 41:03Thomas has not actually practiced since August 4th?
- 41:07That he wasn't out there in the Browns game and he wasn't out
- 41:10there at all during Ravens Park? I don't like it.
- 41:18It's like Chase, I don't like it.
- 41:20But I understand he's shown that he he's a formidable catcher.
- 41:26He pass catcher he can still do what needs to be done.
- 41:30He's he's a little getting up there in age so providing that
- 41:35he can still uses the tangibles and catch the ball and and block
- 41:39which I've always been questioned by his blocking
- 41:43skills and ability. But if he can just do half of it
- 41:48you know right now and and feel okay, then I'm okay with keeping
- 41:53him out. Like St.
- 41:54Judes. I'm okay with him keeping him
- 41:56out even though he did play and he broke up a pass.
- 41:58I'm okay with him keeping him out right now because ultimately
- 42:03we have faith in you being able to do what needs to be done.
- 42:07And right now this is, as Iverson said, we're talking
- 42:11about practice. So if when he's good, let him
- 42:15run with the horses. If not, we've got a group of
- 42:19young tight ends that are ready to come in and and fill his
- 42:22shoes and he knows that. But it's all about
- 42:25communication, man. You know the the coaches are
- 42:28asking, I'm sure how you feel. It's not good today, coach.
- 42:32All right. We'll back off of it a little
- 42:33bit. Continue stretching working out.
- 42:35Don't you gotta do because ultimately this means nothing.
- 42:40It it, it means nothing. Game one, that's where we need
- 42:43you. Agreed.
- 42:46It means nothing. It is practice.
- 42:48But to me it's the it's a track record, It's a history of this.
- 42:54He played six games in 2021. It's his inability to stay
- 43:00healthy lately is what concerns me.
- 43:04And we saw John Bates had that drop against the Browns.
- 43:07I mean, he couldn't have been more wide open.
- 43:10And it was frustrating to see him drop that ball.
- 43:14He actually stepped up a ton, and Rivera talked about it
- 43:17during his press conference today, how Bates had a bunch of
- 43:21nice blocks and leaked out and caught passes after the fact,
- 43:26which was definitely refreshing to see and watch on that feed
- 43:30and also hear coach give him some of those props.
- 43:33Because I am at this point, I cannot trust Logan Thomas to
- 43:38make it a full 17 games. He has not done that since,
- 43:42what, 2020? I mean, it it's been some time
- 43:45since he's actually played a full season.
- 43:49Cole Turner, who is supposed to be the second receiving tight
- 43:53end, had a bad game. He had a bad practice.
- 43:59He apparently had a bunch of balls stripped away from him and
- 44:02a bunch of balls he dropped out there against the Ravens.
- 44:07So. I am concerned about being 1
- 44:11dimensional to tight end spot. When you knew Jordan Reed was
- 44:13in, you knew it was a past play. We can't have that.
- 44:19And Eric Bienni's offense uses a bunch of three tight end sets.
- 44:24We don't have three healthy, legit tight ends right now, and
- 44:29it is still only August 16th and the first game it it's less than
- 44:34a month away. So that he still has some time
- 44:36to get out there. It's just it's a calf strand.
- 44:40So is he able to fight through that and then not tweak it again
- 44:47on a one out of 10 scale? I'm a six in my concern around
- 44:53his health. Well, so are you saying that we
- 44:59should go to the tide and wave of wire and see who's out there
- 45:02and and and and take a chance with somebody is is that what
- 45:07I'm hearing? No, because unfortunately the
- 45:09problem is there's no one out there that's worth anything.
- 45:12They brought a tight end in, but the problem is they brought that
- 45:15guy in because they needed a camp body.
- 45:18Yeah, I mean, you lost Hodges in the beginning of what, mini
- 45:22camp? Because he tore something, did
- 45:24something, can't remember exactly what it was.
- 45:26So now you are stuck with who you have and this was a very
- 45:29tight and deep draft. That we did not decide to move
- 45:34on and do anything because Logan was going to be here and we had
- 45:38Hodges and we had Turner and Bates.
- 45:42Well, right now everyone's talking about how Eric Bienni
- 45:48used Travis Kelsey. And obviously we don't have a
- 45:50Travis Kelsey on a roster, but we don't even have someone that
- 45:54can carry Kelsey's jockstrap in regards to the depth of the time
- 45:57that. So can the enemy adjust his
- 46:01offense if he doesn't have that big man to go down the seam and
- 46:06maybe take advantage of those intermediate routes?
- 46:08Is going to be a question. Well, it's not going to be can.
- 46:12It's going to be who is he going to get to do it?
- 46:14That's what it is. Can.
- 46:15No, you're going to be the one to do it, and I need you to.
- 46:21When I was playing, it was called a circle drill and the
- 46:25quarterback would be 10 yards out and all you did was run in a
- 46:28circle and the quarterback threw the ball to you to make sure
- 46:31that you could catch. So I'm sure they got some better
- 46:34drills than that with the jugs machine or something.
- 46:37But if it needs to be done, what we do know is Eric is smart
- 46:41enough to figure it out and if it means disguising or bluffing
- 46:46or whatever you want to call it, I'm sure that he's going to be
- 46:49able to get it done. And and and once again Ted, I
- 46:51keep bringing this back up to you.
- 46:53This kind of reminds me of and I said it once before I said it
- 46:56last show and I'll probably will continue to say it.
- 46:58It reminds me of 2012 with RG3 and the line that we had with
- 47:04and I can't even remember those guys names but but do you know
- 47:08it was like an open gate someplace come on in and and say
- 47:11hi to RG3 and guys are just run right by him and and RG3 had to
- 47:14get on his wheels well, but the Shanahans made plays for that
- 47:21and I bring that back to the enemy because the Shanahans
- 47:24aren't here anymore. 2012 is long gone.
- 47:27We're talking about Eric be coach.
- 47:28Eric be enemy and his masterful smarts, if you will.
- 47:32I think that he is seeing it right now.
- 47:35It's in it's unfolding right in front of his face.
- 47:38So he didn't have a choice but to see it.
- 47:41So now this is where the big bucks come in and why you get
- 47:47paid to be an assistant head coach drawing up and scheming up
- 47:51new plays that I'm sure we haven't even seen yet.
- 47:54But they know the coaches I'm sure are talking with each other
- 47:57and saying now we can't depend on this play.
- 47:59You know, we we may try to throw it in there, but we're not going
- 48:03to depend on it. We're going to do something
- 48:04different. That's swing and gate or
- 48:06whatever you want to call it so. Not the swing and gate,
- 48:09hopefully not that one. But no, I I hear you.
- 48:11And we actually saw that against the Browns, cuz there were a
- 48:14couple of run plays towards the last part of the first half
- 48:18where he called some draws. Knowing that the defensive line
- 48:22was just blowing up our offensive line and then we're
- 48:25just going to run right past it. So the enemy, I have faith in
- 48:29him to do it. To me it is can the personnel
- 48:33execute the game plan. And we know Terry can execute,
- 48:37we know Jahan can do it. We know Curtis can do it.
- 48:40We know at least we think we know that Sam can do it.
- 48:44To me the biggest question is right now other than offensive
- 48:48line is tight end because. It is a huge gaping hole and
- 48:53until we get Logan back out there for some meaningful reps
- 48:57now he was on the side field doing some stuff and Rivera said
- 49:01that that was a step in the right direction.
- 49:05It's just with these what fast twitch type guys, hamstrings,
- 49:10calves, things like that, groins, those concerned me and
- 49:16it just makes me wonder because I'm sorry, I love John Bates.
- 49:21Good friends with the family. You know, his dad's tweeted me a
- 49:24couple of times. Going back and forth.
- 49:27He ain't no Logan Thomas. We don't have anyone on our team
- 49:30that can play like Logan. Logan is a power forward for our
- 49:33team that plays football. And he is basically, in my
- 49:37opinion, was going to be Sam's safety net.
- 49:40And without that safety net, the enemy's going to have to earn
- 49:44every single dollar he's getting paid as that assistant head
- 49:46coach. That's why they pay in the big
- 49:49bucks. Let's let's make it happen.
- 49:51Can't make any excuses. And what does he say?
- 49:54He wants you to be uncomfortable.
- 49:56Well now as a coach he's got, he's starting to feel
- 49:58uncomfortable, so he's got to make it comfortable for himself
- 50:03and the guys. He does.
- 50:05And Speaking of comfort, we're heading back to FedEx Field and
- 50:09it's our home away from home. I can't wait to get back out
- 50:13there and. For those wondering, I don't
- 50:16tailgate. During preseason you will see me
- 50:17out there with a bucket of chicken from Royal Farm and a
- 50:20beer and a cigar. Come stop by, come hang out.
- 50:23But for those watching at home, what Commanders player are you
- 50:29telling fans don't sleep on? Last week it was the offensive
- 50:32line and you wanted fans to watch them and pay attention to
- 50:36them. This week what Commanders player
- 50:39are you telling fans? Don't sleep on this guy or
- 50:42position group. Don't sleep on Pringle.
- 50:45From what I saw at Baltimore camp, don't sleep on him.
- 50:49Trust and believe he's going to be a factor.
- 50:52A huge factor. So you think Pringles making the
- 50:55roster? Pringles making the roster, bro,
- 50:57from what I what I saw Tuesday. I agree with you.
- 51:01I think Pringle is making this roster.
- 51:03I think there's a reason why they brought him here.
- 51:05He knows the plays. He knows the offense coming from
- 51:08Kansas City, trying to pull up his stats.
- 51:12In the last game, Byron Prankle had one catch for 32 yards.
- 51:15He had two targets. But I mean, he was.
- 51:18He's also playing with the third team, second and third team, you
- 51:22know, offense at that point. And other people have made this
- 51:25comment. Would our first team look better
- 51:29if there wasn't that one hour delay?
- 51:32Because you you got guys that are out there, they're warmed
- 51:36up, they're amped up, they're ready to go and then you got to
- 51:38turn it off. And next thing you know, that
- 51:41adrenaline dump just goes down and you're going to get ramped
- 51:44up again in 15 minutes. So who knows?
- 51:47I am really looking forward to seeing us just punch the Ravens
- 51:51in the mouth and being out there.
- 51:53But for me last week it was Chris Rodriguez and I enjoyed
- 51:57watching that young man run. He averaged almost 8 yards a
- 52:00carry. He was a bright spot for our
- 52:02offense towards the second-half of that game.
- 52:06I'm telling our listeners, if you get a chance.
- 52:09Pay attention to Casmir Allen. This young man might be Dax
- 52:14Milne's worst enemy. Mr. Steel, your girl, in my
- 52:18opinion, should not be on this team because Casmir Allen is
- 52:23going to take his spot. CAS had two kick returns, 2 for
- 52:2841 yards, is longest to 25, and he had two punt returns, 2 for
- 52:3124, longest to 14. And apparently during special
- 52:35teams drills, and we know how hardball loves special teams.
- 52:39Up in Baltimore, Caz was the one taking the reps with the first
- 52:43team special teams and Dax was sitting on the sideline.
- 52:47And I don't know how many times last year where Dax went
- 52:51backwards, then this young man Caz can earn himself a roster
- 52:56spot. And special teams isn't what it
- 52:59used to be, but. I really think that's because we
- 53:02just haven't had the playmakers, we haven't had the guys there to
- 53:05do it. And this young man showed that
- 53:09he can make plays and has a chance to make that an important
- 53:13part of our game once again. Well, there was a huge meaning a
- 53:18couple years back with this young lady.
- 53:21They put it in a rap version. You're about to lose your job.
- 53:24Do you remember that? You're about to lose your job.
- 53:28You're about to lose your job. So I think if you're right, I
- 53:32think it's going to happen, but when it's they actually changed
- 53:35the rules. So cut down is actually after
- 53:38the the last preseason game, right?
- 53:41It is because you used to have to do multiple cuts, so I think
- 53:45they change it till after the last preseason game.
- 53:48Let me see if I can pull that up.
- 53:53That's regardless. It's later on that that's what
- 53:56we'll know. And man, that first game against
- 54:00the Cardinals. Oh gosh, September, man, I get
- 54:05chills thinking about it, Ted, because oh.
- 54:08Yeah, it's right here, I. Mean it is.
- 54:14August is is halfway done, man. And here we are coming on Monday
- 54:18against the Ravens. Then we got Cincinnati and
- 54:23Arizona. Here we are.
- 54:25So. August 29th.
- 54:27By 4:00 PM is when we got to drop it down to 53.
- 54:31So we'll know by then. And you know, obviously your
- 54:35starters are all extended. We all know who that's going to
- 54:38be. But it's the other, you know, 53
- 54:42guys on that they got to fill out that roster and who is it
- 54:44going to be? And some of these draft picks,
- 54:47some of these draft picks are not looking as good as some of
- 54:49these undrafted free agents that they picked up and some of these
- 54:52other guys that they claimed off labor wires.
- 54:54And it's interesting to see. But are they going to do what's
- 55:00right and keep a guy because he's performing, or they going
- 55:02to keep a guy because they drafted him?
- 55:04And only time is going to tell. But I know one thing, man, I I
- 55:08just, I can't wait to be back at FedEx Field, where they're
- 55:12burgundy and gold, brothers and sisters and unfortunately a
- 55:15bunch of purple freaks. But it's going to be a damn good
- 55:19time out there. But Captain Defense, we welcome
- 55:21you. Matter of fact, you told me that
- 55:22you'll be sitting in 130 4 and I'm in 132, so we'll make it
- 55:28happen, man. I hear the music playing in the
- 55:31background, which lets me know that we are bringing another
- 55:34episode of the DV Mess all to a close.
- 55:37And it's been a great ride with you guys with.
- 55:41And I can't wait to see you guys at FedEx Field Monday for the
- 55:45preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens.
- 55:50Ted can't wait to see your brother.
- 55:54Looking forward to it. It is always Rep it hard, but
- 55:59don't Rep it at all. Rally Captain Tailgate Ted.
- 56:04This week, we're out.
