Transcript
- 0:00[SPEAKER_02]: Hey friend, I'm Mike McCurray and this is Bible Track Deco's Thank You, thank you so much for taking of your time and joining me right here.
- 0:07[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to dive back, kind of jumping at time caps.
- 0:11[SPEAKER_02]: We can't wait a time machine and go back in time over 25 years today.
- 0:15[SPEAKER_02]: And this week, Dr. Paul Levine, you realize he was preaching all the way back in the 1930s.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_02]: But he stayed faithful to God so long.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_02]: He started.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_02]: He was known as the boy of angelist.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_02]: Started as a full-time evangelist in his teenage years, and later on in life, he passed away 86.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_02]: He was known as the Dean of Evangelists.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_02]: Today, I told you.
- 0:36[SPEAKER_02]: He passed away 96.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_02]: Well, we are going to listen to a message that he preached in 1995.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_02]: It's interesting.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_02]: the context, the perception that he would have, having started this ministry Bible tracks incorporated this radio broadcast Bible track that goes, but it's interesting to hear because he's talking about the theme, the thought of this message, is are you afraid to die?
- 0:58[SPEAKER_02]: You see, about a year before he preaches this message in 95, he had held his wife.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_02]: as she passed on.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_02]: Miss Dorothy, faithfully been his wife for so long, and she passed away two years before Dr. Paul did because a year after this message, Dr. Paul goes to glory as well.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_02]: And so today he comes to us, from the past, I'm so encouraged to hear from our founder what a blessing it is that he was alive during the time when some of his messages are recorded that we can share with you.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_02]: But as I hear him talk about his wife being put into a nursing home, something he did not want because he thought she'd never come back out, I reminded of that old song, he leadeth me.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_02]: He leadeth me, he leadeth me.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_02]: By his own hand, he leadeth me.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_02]: The first verse says he leadeth me, O blessed thought, O words with heavenly comfort fraught.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_02]: What air I do, where air I be, still tis God's hand, that leadeth me.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_02]: He leadeth me, he leadeth me by his own hand.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_02]: He leadeth me, his faithful follower, I would be, for by his hand.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_02]: He leadeth me.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_02]: And then this verse here, think about this, sometimes mid-scenes of deepest gloom, sometimes where Eden's bowers bloom by waters still, or troubled sea still tis his hand that leadeth me.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_02]: You know, my question today is this.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe you're going through something.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_02]: But how are you handling that?
- 2:33[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe you're even facing what we call death.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe you're in a situation where you're fighting for your life.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_02]: This message and this week goes out to you to your family, to those that are helping with that situation.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_02]: But maybe you'd say I'm standing alone.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_02]: I don't have anyone that loves me.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_02]: I do no one.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_02]: I'm thankful for the fact that Dr. Paul is going to give us a little bit of hope today in this week as we look at this fear of death.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_02]: If you're listening and you do have a fear of death, listen and intently and at the end of the program, we'll give you maybe just an even greater serving of hope from God's Word.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_02]: Thanks for listening.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_02]: Here's Dr. Paul.
- 3:16[SPEAKER_00]: But when they told me she had to go to the nursing home.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_00]: And I didn't want to go to the nursing home.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_00]: And then after being in a nursing home for a 15 months, and I go to go to honor and feed her every day and try to talk to her and all that.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_00]: And then when she had to stroke, and I knew that the end was near.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_00]: And then that morning at five o'clock in my arms, and my ear right on her lips, I wanted to hear each breath, and each breath was further apart.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_00]: and further apart, and further apart, and weaker, and weaker, and weaker.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_00]: And once you took that last breath, I never heard it.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_00]: You know what?
- 3:48[SPEAKER_00]: You know what?
- 3:48[SPEAKER_00]: You know what?
- 3:48[SPEAKER_00]: All this made me do.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe think about heaven.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I got to think about them.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_00]: I got a lot of folks who didn't have them in my sweetheart's there.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, man, someday I'm going to be there and I'm going to see her too.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_00]: See, and you get to think about heaven when something like that happens to you.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_00]: Now look what Jesus did.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_00]: He went through death that he might destroy him that has the power of death and deliver them who through the fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_00]: Now that that takes an accretion to this written accretions, this takes an accretion to there are a lot of accretions who are in bodies right now because of the fear of death.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_00]: Now, did you notice what the Bible said in that verse?
- 4:27[SPEAKER_00]: It says that he might deliver them who's who's the fear of death, or although lifetime subbeat to bodies.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_00]: They're not afraid of God, they're not afraid of the devil.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_00]: They're not afraid of eternity.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_00]: They're not afraid of the judgment.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_00]: What are they afraid of?
- 4:45[SPEAKER_00]: They're afraid of dying.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_00]: Say, that's what we're afraid of.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_00]: And even Christians are afraid to die.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_00]: Now, maybe you're like that.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_00]: You say, brother Paul, now when I die, I know I'm going to be absent from the body present with a Lord.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_00]: Now, you know when you die, you're going to heaven, which still don't want to die.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_00]: See, there's something about dying.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_00]: And we'll alert you.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_00]: I know I'm allergic to it.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_00]: I never did.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_00]: I know it was for myself.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm against it for a certain.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_00]: And the uni's like a lady.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I don't want time to read your listener.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_00]: And that's really a listener said,
- 5:16[SPEAKER_00]: I'm afraid to die.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_00]: I'm a Christian.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_00]: I know I'm saved.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_00]: My sins are gone.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_00]: I know I'm not dying.
- 5:21[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to heaven.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_00]: But oh, she said I'm afraid to die.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_00]: I'm so afraid to die.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_00]: She said I can't sleep at night.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_00]: I wake up with a cold sweat on me.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_00]: Seeking about dying and being the bomb and putting her ground and oh, she says that bothers me.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_00]: Can you say anything on your radio broadcast to help me?
- 5:38[SPEAKER_00]: I tried and for a whole week I gave a series of messages to try to help her.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_00]: Now,
- 5:42[SPEAKER_00]: You see, here's a lady that was saved but she had a fear of dying and she was living in bondage.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_00]: Now Jesus went through death that he might have the victory over the devil, that he might deliver you and me and anybody else who's through the fear of death were all their lifetime subject of bondage.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_00]: So if you, if you've got a, if you've got a fear of dying, don't think it's something wrong with you.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_00]: You're not some odd ball.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_00]: It is that you're not saved.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_00]: It isn't that you're not sure you're saved.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_00]: It's just that dying isn't something new.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_00]: As far as I know, I've never died yet.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_00]: As far as I know, you haven't either.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_00]: And it's something we're all going to go through unless Jesus comes before we die and we don't know what it's like.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_00]: It's an awesome talk.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_00]: We don't know what it's like to die.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_00]: We've seen people die.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_00]: I saw Dorothy die.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_00]: I saw her mother die.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_00]: I saw her dead die.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_00]: I've seen others die.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_00]: But I haven't died yet.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_00]: And death is something we're going to have to go through.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_00]: And we're just literally worried about it.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_00]: We don't know what it's going to be like.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_00]: See?
- 6:39[SPEAKER_00]: And don't, don't, don't get scared about this now and feel that there's something wrong with you spiritually.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, it's not that at all.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_00]: It's a natural saying that have a natural fear of death because death is an enemy.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_00]: Say, okay, that's just an enemy.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_00]: Now, when I call it Jesus went through death, that he might deliver us from that fear of death.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_00]: He can do that.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_00]: He can do that for you tonight.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_00]: He can take away the fear of dying.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, sir, he can do it.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_00]: It's wonderful that we have illustrations in the Bible about this too.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_00]: First of all, let me ask you a question.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_00]: Before we look at another scripture, I don't even believe that happens a wonderful place.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see, yeah, I believe that happens a wonderful place.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_00]: It's too boy, I've never been there yet, but I've read about it.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_00]: And I read about it quite often now, I didn't use to very much.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_00]: I skipped that part, I'm on my way enough, and at least, if it was going to come in my light, I've even gone out to hurry up, so if he doesn't hurry up, I'm going to go by way at this.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm going to heaven.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_00]: Now, the Bible tells us that heaven's a wonderful place.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_00]: I'm got time to tell you all about that.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_00]: But part of it is the city, 1400 miles square.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_00]: And maybe it's a cube, maybe it's some people think, maybe it's a pyramid like, but it's for big.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_00]: And it's going to be millions and millions and millions of people there.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_00]: Somebody says, you think they don't meet 30 million up in there?
- 8:01[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, sure.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_00]: The aborted babies in America, and the last several years is numbers 30 million.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_00]: That'll all be there, see?
- 8:10[SPEAKER_00]: And whoa, there's going to be a lot of people in having this wonderful place.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_00]: You see, there'll be some doctors there, but they'll all be broke because they'd be out of business.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_00]: And that'd be some Undertaker's, they won't have an integral bankrupt in heaven.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_00]: They won't have any business.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_00]: Nobody's going to get sick.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_00]: Nobody's going to have to suffer.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_00]: They'll fall against these disease and no more cancer.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_00]: And no more, whatever you've got to say, they won't have any of that in heaven.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_00]: And heaven's the wonderful place.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_00]: Nobody ever cries.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_00]: Can you imagine a city 1400 miles square, millions and millions and millions, and millions of people there, and not one tier.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_00]: Think of that.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_00]: Wow, one tear.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_00]: Boy, it's going to be wonderful in heaven.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_00]: Now you believe that?
- 8:50[SPEAKER_00]: I believe that.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_00]: All right, now I'm asking you a question.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_00]: Since you and I believe that, how many of you be careful on the high answer this?
- 8:56[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not trying to trick you, but think now before you raise your hand and think what you're saying.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_00]: But I just want to illustrate something.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_00]: This is not to embarrass you, this is Taylor's straight.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_00]: How many of you, since you know Heaven's a wonderful place, Paul says, I am a straight betrays to having a desire to depart and be with Christ which is far better, Paul says it's far better there.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_00]: You and I believe that.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_00]: Now since we believe that, how many of you would like to die within the next two minutes and go there, works that much better.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_00]: Raise your hand, how many?
- 9:35[SPEAKER_00]: But I didn't raise my hand.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_00]: Did you notice I didn't raise my house?
- 9:38[SPEAKER_00]: I was pointing, I was, I didn't raise my hand.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_00]: My hands down here.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know about you.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_00]: I know having was a wonderful place.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_00]: I know it's a wonderful place.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_00]: I know it's far better there.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_00]: But if I got, if I'm gonna have to die to get there, I'll just wait a while.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to stay here with the cancer.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_00]: I got a cancer and I didn't know.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_00]: And I got, I got shingles.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_00]: And if I have to die, they get to heaven.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just going to stay here with the cancer.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_00]: And stay here with the seagulls and stay here with the tears and heart aches and pain and everything else.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_00]: You see, well, what's the matter with this anyhow?
- 10:08[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to go to heaven.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_00]: Of course, why don't you go to heaven?
- 10:11[SPEAKER_00]: Well, let me ask you another question.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_00]: Suppose he, how many would like to have Jesus Christ come back tonight?
- 10:17[SPEAKER_00]: Take us all to heaven right now.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see your hands.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_00]: Sure you would.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_00]: My hands up on that one boy.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_00]: Add some from the body present with the Lord, the dead and Christ that shall rise in.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_00]: And then we were trying to live and remain so that we could call it up together as in a class to meet the Lord in the air.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_00]: Now, if we could go to heaven that week, we'd all like to go to night.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_00]: But if we got to die, they get to heaven.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to be a while.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_00]: Now, that's just the way we are.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't know he was trying to be real pious and holy, say, no, that's not the way it is.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_00]: I want to die right now.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_00]: No, we don't want to die right now if we think about it.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_00]: We want to wait until I was fully die and suffer a little bit more and cry a little bit more.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_02]: as we just listened to Dr. Paul bear his heart.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_02]: What a blessing it is that he was so transparent even through these difficult things.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_02]: I'm reminded of the fact that we, you and I, have the opportunity to impact those around us as well.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_02]: And so I'd ask you today.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe you're listening your Christian friend, you know where you're going when you die.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_02]: Who are you sharing that with?
- 11:21[SPEAKER_02]: Or maybe you're listening right now and you're saying I'm being confronted right in my face and maybe I don't even have health problems, but I know for a fact that if I died today, I'm not guaranteed my eternity what would happen to me if you're listening right now.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_02]: There is hope this Bible.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_02]: I have right here on my desk in front of me.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_02]: It is God's word.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_02]: It tells us how we can pass from death to life.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_02]: How we can lose that fear of death by placing our trust in God's Son.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_02]: And I'd love to hear from you.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_02]: If you'd reach out to me, would you please text me at 309.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_02]: 316724.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_02]: Zero.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_02]: Again, that's 309.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_02]: 3, 1, 6, 7, 2, 4, 0, it would be my pleasure to take this Bible and explain to you how you can know for sure where you're going and put your faith in trust in Christ.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_02]: If you're listening right now and you need to tell someone about him,
- 12:17[SPEAKER_02]: about your salvation, share your testimony, and easy way to do that is with gospel tracks.
