- 0:10Speaker 1: W trance true, I'm a check couples the adults.
- 0:31Speaker 2: Hey, everybody, welcome to Conspiracy the Show.
- 0:34Speaker 3: I'm Adam Todd Brown.
- 0:36Speaker 4: And I'm Olivia Heidi, and we are your hosts Olivia,
- 0:40Speaker 4: how's it going, you know.
- 0:41Speaker 3: Not bad, not bad?
- 0:43Speaker 4: I got the haircut.
- 0:44Speaker 3: I see nice, very nice, very nice.
- 0:46Speaker 4: Been a minute and yeah, oh and uh, I watched
- 0:52Speaker 4: the movie Free Guy.
- 0:54Speaker 3: Oh okay, listening.
- 0:57Speaker 4: And you know, we did a recent list cast on
- 1:02Speaker 4: the best movies of twenty twenty one. We certainly did,
- 1:05Speaker 4: and Free Guy came up, and I was very mean
- 1:09Speaker 4: to Free Guy. You were dismissive of the idea of
- 1:13Speaker 4: this movie as a movie. Yes, I I did not
- 1:18Speaker 4: think it looked good. I was shocked that it might
- 1:24Speaker 4: be good. And I just I was flustered and flummixed.
- 1:30Speaker 4: And also it got more votes than like no Sudden
- 1:33Speaker 4: Move and like it was a high respective like so,
- 1:37Speaker 4: so here's the thing. So, so I watched the movie
- 1:40Speaker 4: Free Guy, and it's fine. It was it was totally
- 1:45Speaker 4: it was totally fine. I like, here, here's the problem
- 1:49Speaker 4: with Free Guy. If I if I may very quickly,
- 1:51Speaker 4: yes please, it like gives such an awful first impression
- 1:57Speaker 4: I just generally really disliked everything that happened for basically
- 2:03Speaker 4: the first thirty minutes, as far as all of the
- 2:07Speaker 4: stuff with Ryan Reynolds in the game, and just like
- 2:10Speaker 4: the voiceover and the I don't know other stuff, and
- 2:14Speaker 4: I don't like Taika whit Td in it at all.
- 2:17Speaker 4: I think he's not good.
- 2:18Speaker 3: Really, you think he's not good in general or just not.
- 2:21Speaker 4: No, I love I love him in general, I think,
- 2:24Speaker 4: and this is not a good performance of his But
- 2:28Speaker 4: then it becomes like this sci fi movie about AI
- 2:34Speaker 4: and like sentience, and I all of a sudden, I'm like, Okay,
- 2:40Speaker 4: I'm kind of jamming on this. See this is this
- 2:43Speaker 4: is kind of cool. And then like you know, it
- 2:46Speaker 4: goes back to a bunch of dumb shit that I
- 2:48Speaker 4: didn't really like. But like I would say, a solid six,
- 2:52Speaker 4: I was really like it definitely still doesn't make my
- 2:56Speaker 4: best list best of twenty twenty one.
- 3:00Speaker 3: Exit doesn't make your best no.
- 3:02Speaker 4: No, unfortunately not. But but you know, a solid six,
- 3:07Speaker 4: like hard above average.
- 3:08Speaker 2: You know, like, well, I appreciate you giving it the
- 3:11Speaker 2: chance it deserved.
- 3:13Speaker 4: Well, you know, and and I just wanted to clear
- 3:15Speaker 4: the air. I really I felt watching it. I was like,
- 3:18Speaker 4: you know what, I was a little too hard, you know,
- 3:21Speaker 4: I was thinking it was going to be like a four,
- 3:24Speaker 4: and it's like a six, and I'm like, that's you know, good.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Well, the Ryan Reynolds fan base, thanks you good.
- 3:30Speaker 4: I'm glad that I know they were on tinder hooks setting.
- 3:33Speaker 3: The record straight.
- 3:34Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I sent an email blast out to
- 3:36Speaker 2: my Ryan Reynolds fan immediately.
- 3:39Speaker 4: So yeah, you still have like an RSS feed of
- 3:43Speaker 4: for Ryan Reynolds.
- 3:44Speaker 2: Yeahoo group, That's what I'm in. So we are talking
- 3:49Speaker 2: about the Jesse venture. They don't want to continuing our
- 3:55Speaker 2: explorations into the highly banned, highly controversial second season of
- 4:02Speaker 2: Conspiracy Theory with Jesse Ventura.
- 4:05Speaker 4: But but we can't say canceled because it did actually
- 4:07Speaker 4: get a third season.
- 4:08Speaker 3: But like, right, canceled, canceled.
- 4:11Speaker 2: Yeah, it's canceled in you know, the same way Dave
- 4:14Speaker 2: Chappelle is canceled.
- 4:16Speaker 4: Right, So that all still.
- 4:18Speaker 2: It all still happened and further opportunities abounded.
- 4:22Speaker 3: But yeah, canceled.
- 4:23Speaker 4: We were Russia to the same joke. Yeah, he's canceled
- 4:27Speaker 4: as far as he is more successful than ever and
- 4:30Speaker 4: is love.
- 4:31Speaker 2: Yeah, and now he can just tour as that comedian
- 4:34Speaker 2: who was canceled for the rest of his fucking life.
- 4:37Speaker 4: God, what a good gig.
- 4:39Speaker 3: It's great. Ah, good work. If you can get it.
- 4:42Speaker 4: I should start. I need to start getting back into
- 4:45Speaker 4: stand up. It's been a minute. I'll do stand up
- 4:48Speaker 4: and then I'll just get canceled and that'll just be
- 4:51Speaker 4: my that'll uh. I'll ride that horse until it fucking breaks.
- 4:56Speaker 3: Oh.
- 4:56Speaker 2: I know some people who are riding that horse right now.
- 4:59Speaker 4: It's it seems like an extremely lurative force.
- 5:03Speaker 3: Yeah. Good times.
- 5:05Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 5:06Speaker 2: So this episode, it's episode five, season two, episode five,
- 5:12Speaker 2: and this is another one where I see the subject
- 5:15Speaker 2: and I'm like, just now, you're just now getting into this. Yeah,
- 5:18Speaker 2: because this episode is about the jfk assassination.
- 5:24Speaker 4: Yeah, you ever heard of it? You know, I'm vaguely familiar.
- 5:28Speaker 4: There was a movie, right where were.
- 5:30Speaker 3: You when it happened? Everyone remembers where they were when
- 5:32Speaker 3: it happened. I haven't born.
- 5:34Speaker 4: Yet, Yeah, me neither. I don't. Yeah, my mom hadn't
- 5:38Speaker 4: been born yet, so you know, it would have been
- 5:41Speaker 4: tough for me to form an opinion on it at
- 5:43Speaker 4: the time.
- 5:44Speaker 2: I personally feel like there was already a very compelling
- 5:48Speaker 2: theory about what happened on the day JFK died, And
- 5:52Speaker 2: it's especially compelling in that it kind of makes everyone right.
- 5:55Speaker 2: And I think that's why people don't bring that theory
- 5:58Speaker 2: up that much. It really doesn't come up on this
- 6:00Speaker 2: episode at all.
- 6:00Speaker 3: But we'll talk.
- 6:01Speaker 4: No, not at all. I know what you're talking about. Uh,
- 6:05Speaker 4: and yeah, that's not mentioned at all. This is Yeah,
- 6:08Speaker 4: it's interesting because you could call it the granddaddy of
- 6:11Speaker 4: all conspiracy theories, but it's also like kindergarten conspiracy theories.
- 6:16Speaker 4: It's like, like, that's why it's so crazy that it
- 6:19Speaker 4: wasn't in like the first season, because this is like
- 6:21Speaker 4: this is you know, there's nothing really anything new that
- 6:25Speaker 4: you can kind of comb over in this you know,
- 6:29Speaker 4: it's all kind of been done.
- 6:30Speaker 2: Yeah, every even the stuff they bring up here that
- 6:33Speaker 2: is supposed to be extra shocking and revelatory, it's all
- 6:37Speaker 2: stuff that was out before this episode aired. And that's
- 6:42Speaker 2: what bothers me is the one compelling theory they don't.
- 6:45Speaker 3: Even talk about, which yep, that's a problem, which.
- 6:48Speaker 4: I mean, yeah, I don't know when we even want
- 6:51Speaker 4: to mention it, But it just seems like it's not
- 6:53Speaker 4: as well known.
- 6:55Speaker 3: Are we talking about the same theory which.
- 6:57Speaker 4: I'm talking about the bodyguard theory?
- 6:59Speaker 3: Yes?
- 7:00Speaker 4: Same, Yeah, and like the idea that he was shot
- 7:03Speaker 4: by a bodyguard trying to hit Oswald.
- 7:09Speaker 2: Yeah, the gist of that theory is that the secret
- 7:12Speaker 2: Service agent heard the first two shots from Oswald, stood
- 7:17Speaker 2: up with his gun and at the moment he stood up,
- 7:20Speaker 2: the car he was in accelerated and he fell back
- 7:23Speaker 2: and accidentally fired and fucking hit JFK in the head.
- 7:29Speaker 2: And the guy they briefly talked to, the guy behind
- 7:34Speaker 2: that theory who researched that shit for like thirty years. Yeah,
- 7:38Speaker 2: and what's weird or not weird? I don't know how
- 7:41Speaker 2: to describe it, but people always point to the CBS
- 7:45Speaker 2: investigation where someone was able to recreate Oswald getting off
- 7:50Speaker 2: those three shots as proof that Oswald could have done it. Meanwhile,
- 7:54Speaker 2: the guy who got those three shots off is the
- 7:56Speaker 2: same guy behind this theory. Because he got those shots
- 7:59Speaker 2: off was like Oswald couldn't have done that.
- 8:02Speaker 3: Most people can't do that.
- 8:04Speaker 4: Well, that is I mean, we're definitely gonna talk way
- 8:07Speaker 4: more about the feasibility of whether or not Jesse Venturer
- 8:12Speaker 4: can pull off three shots with a rifle. But you know,
- 8:15Speaker 4: I understand that part, and it's definitely there's a lot
- 8:20Speaker 4: of you know, there's a lot of stuff about this
- 8:22Speaker 4: because it's fucking you know, almost sixty years old that
- 8:26Speaker 4: we're just never gonna know the entire answers to. But
- 8:30Speaker 4: he was trained with that rifle. We'll talk about it
- 8:32Speaker 4: when we get to the actual.
- 8:34Speaker 2: Well, no, he was trained with that rifle. But when
- 8:36Speaker 2: they did that recreation, it was lots and lots of
- 8:39Speaker 2: people who had been trained with rifle.
- 8:41Speaker 4: Right, No, I understand. Mostly this mostly applies to the
- 8:47Speaker 4: Jesse Venturer segment.
- 8:48Speaker 2: Yeah, that Jesse Ventura couldn't do it doesn't do a
- 8:51Speaker 2: whole lot no for me, because he keeps saying it
- 8:54Speaker 2: was a Navy seal and it's like, yeah, technically.
- 8:58Speaker 4: Yeah, you were a frog man, buddy.
- 9:01Speaker 2: Do you do a lot of shooting in your underwater
- 9:03Speaker 2: demolition operations? Because if so, please tell me all about it. Right,
- 9:08Speaker 2: it sounds cool as fuck. So it seems from the
- 9:11Speaker 2: beginning of this episode that this theory is leading toward
- 9:15Speaker 2: the jfk assassination somehow being linked to Watergate, which I
- 9:20Speaker 2: immediately was like that timeline doesn't.
- 9:22Speaker 3: Add up whatsoever.
- 9:24Speaker 4: No, not at all.
- 9:25Speaker 2: They killed JFK over Watergate for the fucking nostradamus, I mean,
- 9:31Speaker 2: but it makes more sense later.
- 9:33Speaker 4: No, yeah, because I think the I don't know, like
- 9:36Speaker 4: I maybe it's just like one thing led to another
- 9:40Speaker 4: and a lot of the same people were involved, But like, yeah,
- 9:43Speaker 4: Watergate and Nixon definitely keep coming up, so does George JHW. Bush.
- 9:48Speaker 4: I love how much they talk shit on George HW. Bush.
- 9:53Speaker 4: It rules.
- 9:54Speaker 2: I'm starting to think that's who got this season of
- 9:57Speaker 2: conspiracy theory bands, the Bush family.
- 10:00Speaker 3: Because they come up r core on the next episode two.
- 10:04Speaker 4: They deservedly. That's that episode is Yeah, George H. That
- 10:09Speaker 4: one's way better.
- 10:10Speaker 3: George H. W.
- 10:11Speaker 2: Bush is one of the most legitimately shady figures in
- 10:14Speaker 2: political history.
- 10:16Speaker 4: What an awful motherfucker.
- 10:17Speaker 2: Like I've said it before, but just you don't even
- 10:20Speaker 2: have to look into it. Just think of the circumstances
- 10:24Speaker 2: surrounding him becoming vice president. The CIA was in the
- 10:28Speaker 2: midst of all this fucking turmoil. Jimmy Carter was like,
- 10:32Speaker 2: we're gonna strip them down and we're gonna fucking level
- 10:36Speaker 2: these motherfuckers, which he didn't mean it, he just had
- 10:39Speaker 2: to say that publicly. But nevertheless, hot on the heels
- 10:42Speaker 2: of that, for the first time ever, the director of
- 10:45Speaker 2: the CIA decides, Hey, I'm gonna run for vice president
- 10:48Speaker 2: and they win, and then what happens about a year later,
- 10:52Speaker 2: someone tries to kill Reagan under very mk ultra circumstances. Yeah,
- 10:57Speaker 2: and I don't know, that's always seemed weird to me,
- 11:00Speaker 2: especially when you consider what the CIA goes on here
- 11:03Speaker 2: in the eighties. It's they were like, you are not
- 11:05Speaker 2: going to curtail what we do.
- 11:07Speaker 3: We promise you that for sure.
- 11:09Speaker 4: Yeah, and the Reagan thing is a whole other bag
- 11:12Speaker 4: of weird worms.
- 11:13Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:14Speaker 4: But you know, I thinking about all of this and
- 11:18Speaker 4: talking through the that timeline and having watched this episode
- 11:23Speaker 4: that is very much about this certain group of people
- 11:28Speaker 4: manipulating things to happen, you know, the you know, for
- 11:33Speaker 4: the Kennedy to be assassinated. Now, I like the conspiracy
- 11:37Speaker 4: that this was actually just a Republican coup of of
- 11:42Speaker 4: the federal and that that's just what it is. Like
- 11:46Speaker 4: the you know, a bunch of conservative people got together
- 11:52Speaker 4: and tried to orchestrate a way that they could retain
- 11:55Speaker 4: power for the next fifty years.
- 11:57Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean this could be where that started because
- 12:00Speaker 2: that who has definitely started at some point in history.
- 12:04Speaker 4: Yeah, because we're talking about Nixon benefiting and it's going Forard.
- 12:09Speaker 3: Well, I would argue.
- 12:10Speaker 4: Yeah, oh, well, it's definitely considering who our democratic president is. Yeah,
- 12:16Speaker 4: I would say it's working pretty well. So yeah, anyway,
- 12:20Speaker 4: that's just a thing that I was thinking about. As
- 12:23Speaker 4: we were talking about that. It's like, oh, that actually
- 12:26Speaker 4: makes as much sense as anything that is mentioned in
- 12:29Speaker 4: this episode.
- 12:30Speaker 3: Yeah, it does.
- 12:31Speaker 2: So the first person he meets his guy named Ron,
- 12:34Speaker 2: who is properly over dramatic for being a talking head
- 12:40Speaker 2: on an episode of Conspiracy Theory with Jesse Venture. He's
- 12:44Speaker 2: not in a white van, but he might as well be.
- 12:46Speaker 2: They meet on a bridge. He's being pushed in a
- 12:49Speaker 2: wheelchair by a guy wearing sunglasses at night like Corey
- 12:52Speaker 2: Hart and the trench coat like Columbine Shooter.
- 12:56Speaker 4: No, yeah, he's rocking the neo, you know, yeah.
- 13:00Speaker 3: Like Agent Smith.
- 13:03Speaker 2: And this guy in the wheelchair hands over a folder
- 13:06Speaker 2: of documents, which, again I get the secrecy if you're
- 13:10Speaker 2: not doing it on a nationally televised show, a true
- 13:15Speaker 2: TV network show, I guess I would get all the secrecy.
- 13:20Speaker 2: But once you know there's cameras that are going to
- 13:21Speaker 2: be there, just do it in Arby's.
- 13:23Speaker 3: Right, Arby's is great if really good food.
- 13:27Speaker 4: Right, you get some curly fries, Well, you talk about it,
- 13:30Speaker 4: you get some.
- 13:30Speaker 2: They got rid of the potato cakes, which that's an
- 13:33Speaker 2: episode all into itself, that conspiracy.
- 13:35Speaker 3: Wow, replaced him with crinkle fries. Get the fuck out
- 13:38Speaker 3: of here. I can get those in any grocery store.
- 13:40Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, that I would say. If those aren't equivalent,
- 13:44Speaker 4: you would be replaced it with like dater thoughts or
- 13:46Speaker 4: something exactly.
- 13:47Speaker 3: Yeah, that's why you know.
- 13:49Speaker 4: Well, I'm very sorry I don't eat it Arty's.
- 13:52Speaker 3: But I said Arby's, but it's fine.
- 13:55Speaker 4: Well I meant Arby's.
- 13:57Speaker 3: You should eat Arby's. It's great.
- 13:59Speaker 2: But again, completely other whole other conspiracy episodes, of course,
- 14:03Speaker 2: of course, the character assassination of Arby's. So Ron said
- 14:08Speaker 2: he was producing a movie about the JFK assassination when
- 14:12Speaker 2: someone approached him with these files, which he decided to
- 14:16Speaker 2: immediately lock away forever. And every time I hear a
- 14:20Speaker 2: story like that, I always think back to Mirage Men,
- 14:23Speaker 2: and I'm like, yeah, who.
- 14:25Speaker 3: Gave you those files? And what's in them? They're like,
- 14:28Speaker 3: put this in your movie.
- 14:30Speaker 2: Yeah, no one's heard this part before comes out in
- 14:34Speaker 2: the Government's like bullshit, we can prove that's a lie.
- 14:38Speaker 4: Well, and the other the other notable part is like, uh,
- 14:42Speaker 4: what movie about the jfk assassination were you making? Because really,
- 14:47Speaker 4: I gotta say, there's only one that sticks.
- 14:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 14:50Speaker 2: So unless you don't know conspiracy documentaries, in which case
- 14:54Speaker 2: there are about six thousand.
- 14:55Speaker 3: Oh is it is?
- 14:56Speaker 4: He saying? Oh?
- 14:57Speaker 1: Was he?
- 14:57Speaker 4: Yeah, he's secumentary. He didn't see you said movie? Yeah,
- 15:01Speaker 4: this is what I'm saying. And if it's a documentary,
- 15:04Speaker 4: that's a whole other thing. But like you know, I
- 15:07Speaker 4: feel like, if the mirage Men are going to come
- 15:10Speaker 4: to anybody, it's gonna be uh Oliver Stone, and hey
- 15:13Speaker 4: that's maybe that's why he is the way he is now.
- 15:17Speaker 4: Who knows.
- 15:18Speaker 2: Yeah, Oliver Stone has taken a turn in recent years.
- 15:22Speaker 3: Weird, real weird, very very strange turn.
- 15:27Speaker 4: Considering you know, all of his early career.
- 15:31Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, it's just odd.
- 15:33Speaker 2: So Ron says his documents point to Nixon being involved
- 15:38Speaker 2: in the assassination of JFK.
- 15:40Speaker 3: And immediately I'm like, yeah, I could see that. I mean,
- 15:42Speaker 3: sure JFK did kind of steal an election from him.
- 15:46Speaker 4: Ah, who knows, who knows it was? It was sixty
- 15:52Speaker 4: years ago.
- 15:53Speaker 2: So Operation forty CIA hit squad that tried to kill
- 15:57Speaker 2: Castro while Nixon was vice president. That's this is all
- 16:01Speaker 2: tied to, according to Ron's docs, the Ron docks and
- 16:06Speaker 2: I don't like the premise they're trying to sell us here,
- 16:10Speaker 2: which is that Operation forty was behind a bunch of
- 16:15Speaker 2: anti Castro stuff, including the Bay of Pigs invasion, which failed,
- 16:22Speaker 2: and after that failed they wanted to try again and
- 16:26Speaker 2: Kennedy said no, And that's what they killed Kennedy for sure.
- 16:30Speaker 2: I don't buy that they're the CIA. They would have
- 16:33Speaker 2: just done it again.
- 16:35Speaker 4: Yes, Oh we didn't hear you. It was so noisy. Yeah,
- 16:40Speaker 4: I mean this is a pretty widespread interpret like conspiracy.
- 16:46Speaker 4: This is one of the big theories I think is
- 16:49Speaker 4: that causation, Like you know, he he's pushing back on
- 16:54Speaker 4: the military brass who he lost faith in after the
- 16:58Speaker 4: Bay of Pigs. Uh, and he because he as soon
- 17:03Speaker 4: as the babe you can hear it on the tapes
- 17:05Speaker 4: if you've ever listened to By the way, if you've
- 17:08Speaker 4: ever want to listen to some fucking history, you can
- 17:10Speaker 4: listen to a ton of private conversations that Kennedy had
- 17:15Speaker 4: as president, and a bunch of other presidents also. But
- 17:18Speaker 4: and you hear how fuck pissed off he is that
- 17:22Speaker 4: the military and the CIA sold him a false bag
- 17:29Speaker 4: of goods, you know. And yeah, you know, so that
- 17:34Speaker 4: might be the case. But also, yeah, like you're saying
- 17:36Speaker 4: the CIA wanted to do it, then they could just
- 17:39Speaker 4: do it.
- 17:39Speaker 2: Yeah, And I've I did one episode. I still have
- 17:42Speaker 2: to do the second episode about this book called the
- 17:45Speaker 2: CIA and the Cults of Intelligence. And it's written by
- 17:49Speaker 2: a guy named Victor Marchetti who was in the CIA
- 17:52Speaker 2: for a long time and he was a whistleblower. It's
- 17:55Speaker 2: first book the government ever tried to have censored on
- 17:58Speaker 2: national security grounds. Yeah, and one of the things he
- 18:02Speaker 2: argues about every single president, including Kennedy, is that the
- 18:07Speaker 2: president always knows what the CIA is doing, but the
- 18:11Speaker 2: CIA knows that from time to time, it's just sort
- 18:15Speaker 2: of an operational hazard that the president might have to
- 18:18Speaker 2: come out and be like the fucking CIA, man, I
- 18:21Speaker 2: can't believe they're doing what they're doing. Meanwhile, they all
- 18:25Speaker 2: know about it, right, And like Kennedy knew about the
- 18:28Speaker 2: Bay of Pigs.
- 18:28Speaker 3: He just was pissed that it didn't work.
- 18:31Speaker 4: Well, no, yeah, no, he knew about It's he definitely
- 18:35Speaker 4: knew about the Bay of Pigs. He helped, like you know,
- 18:38Speaker 4: he was shown the plans and gave authorization to it.
- 18:42Speaker 4: That's not even in question. But yeah, no, he definitely
- 18:45Speaker 4: was pissed off that he was misled on its viability
- 18:50Speaker 4: as a plan. That's what I meant.
- 18:53Speaker 2: Oh no, no, no, I get that, But that kind
- 18:56Speaker 2: of leads me away from believing the CIA did it theory,
- 19:02Speaker 2: because the CIA is also the kind of group that
- 19:06Speaker 2: would be like, what the Secret Service accidentally killed Kennedy?
- 19:10Speaker 2: We have a plan and they just put this fucking
- 19:13Speaker 2: story out there that we've all been chasing as a
- 19:16Speaker 2: society for decades now. And I would not be at
- 19:20Speaker 2: all surprised if when those last JFK documents come out,
- 19:24Speaker 2: it's like, whoops, secret Service did it, and you're right,
- 19:28Speaker 2: we covered it up. You are welcome for a industry
- 19:32Speaker 2: full of conspiracy theories over the past fifty years.
- 19:36Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, I feel like if the CIA really
- 19:40Speaker 4: actively wanted to kill JFK, they would have just like
- 19:45Speaker 4: done like a Michael Jackson and like gave Mike told
- 19:48Speaker 4: doctor feel good to you know, inject him with too
- 19:52Speaker 4: much morphine this time, and like just kill him. Yeah,
- 19:56Speaker 4: you know, like that would be a way easier way
- 20:00Speaker 4: to get what you need done because the I don't
- 20:04Speaker 4: think the public like assassination really helps the CIA.
- 20:09Speaker 3: No, not other than the facts.
- 20:11Speaker 4: Yeah, other than the fact that he is dead, which
- 20:14Speaker 4: they were very happy about, but like, you know, yeah,
- 20:17Speaker 4: I don't think that that would be their vibe.
- 20:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 20:20Speaker 2: I tend to like the CIA is the group that's
- 20:23Speaker 2: always named, but I feel like a lot of our
- 20:25Speaker 2: more high profile public assassinations in the sixties it was
- 20:29Speaker 2: probably more the FBI.
- 20:31Speaker 4: Behind well, yeah, definitely domestically.
- 20:35Speaker 2: Like Malcolm X, for sure, there were ten FBI agents
- 20:37Speaker 2: in the room when he was shot and killed.
- 20:41Speaker 4: And Martin Luther King Jr.
- 20:42Speaker 2: Yeah, And it's actually just come out that two of
- 20:45Speaker 2: the men who went to prison for that are finally
- 20:48Speaker 2: going to be exonerated for the killing of Malcolm X
- 20:51Speaker 2: because the third guy was like, yeah, I was one
- 20:54Speaker 2: of the shooters but those two were not the other
- 20:57Speaker 2: two shooters, and he said that immediately and people were
- 21:01Speaker 2: just like sure, what.
- 21:04Speaker 4: Yeah, that sounds about right.
- 21:07Speaker 2: So Jesse has now jumped to the conclusion that Richard
- 21:12Speaker 2: Nixon was set up, like Watergate was a set up,
- 21:15Speaker 2: because he requested documents pertaining to the assassination of JFK.
- 21:21Speaker 2: And that is a thread that gets pulled and immediately released.
- 21:25Speaker 4: Yeah, like you pull that thread and the entire sweater
- 21:29Speaker 4: just crumbles into dust.
- 21:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:31Speaker 2: So so now Jesse's off to interview a dead guy,
- 21:34Speaker 2: and upon hearing that this interview subject is dead, Alex
- 21:39Speaker 2: the skeptic.
- 21:39Speaker 3: Who was somehow back now.
- 21:41Speaker 4: Was it was Daniel's there?
- 21:44Speaker 2: Daniel's there is my second episode, okay, because I remember
- 21:48Speaker 2: I got pissed at Daniel again.
- 21:49Speaker 4: Oh I really don't like Daniel.
- 21:52Speaker 3: Yeah, he shows up in the next episode.
- 21:54Speaker 4: He might be in this one, but I get them
- 21:56Speaker 4: mixed up because they look almost exactly the same.
- 21:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:58Speaker 2: But I remember seeing Alex this time and being like, whoa,
- 22:01Speaker 2: that guy's back.
- 22:02Speaker 3: That's weird.
- 22:04Speaker 2: And he hears that this person Jesse needs to interview
- 22:08Speaker 2: is dead and he goes not like that would stop you,
- 22:12Speaker 2: And then there's this scene where Jesse Ventura just has
- 22:15Speaker 2: this like cheshire cat grin on his face.
- 22:18Speaker 3: As if this is a thing he's got a history
- 22:20Speaker 3: of doing. You know, me, I'll interview a dead guy.
- 22:25Speaker 4: He's like what he's like a he's like a medium.
- 22:29Speaker 2: Yeah, just back on his interview and dead people. Shit,
- 22:34Speaker 2: that's what he does. So the person he's talking about
- 22:38Speaker 2: is an Air Force colonel named el Fletcher Proudy. Yeah,
- 22:41Speaker 2: and he is all sorts of dead, but he left
- 22:44Speaker 2: all his info with a guy named Lenn so that
- 22:47Speaker 2: works out. He gave a bunch of video interviews about
- 22:50Speaker 2: how he is sure JFK was murdered. He mentions the
- 22:55Speaker 2: lack of secret service along the parade route, and that
- 22:58Speaker 2: always has been weird to me, that that is a
- 23:02Speaker 2: true thing.
- 23:03Speaker 4: Yeah, well, I think part of the problem is that
- 23:07Speaker 4: the route was kind of it wasn't impromptu, but there
- 23:12Speaker 4: were a lot of on the flight. It's just like
- 23:14Speaker 4: the fact that the convertible top was down and all
- 23:18Speaker 4: that stuff. And also, you know, you got secret service
- 23:22Speaker 4: in the car, and I'm sure there's a secret service
- 23:25Speaker 4: in the other cars, you know, behind them. You know,
- 23:29Speaker 4: it's the sixties, like it's not like they're they're thinking
- 23:32Speaker 4: that hard about this.
- 23:34Speaker 2: Yeah, and if the if my pet theory is true,
- 23:38Speaker 2: it sounds like having secret service shooting from somewhere wasn't
- 23:41Speaker 2: going to be the best idea anyway.
- 23:42Speaker 4: Yeah, it's almost like, yeah.
- 23:44Speaker 2: Someone shooting from a tower is what kicked all this
- 23:47Speaker 2: off right in the first place.
- 23:49Speaker 3: So this guy, he he.
- 23:52Speaker 2: Says Lee Harvey Oswald was a patsy that JFK was
- 23:55Speaker 2: killed by professionals, which again I don't know. Yeah, he
- 23:59Speaker 2: makes a way to Daily Plaza to talk to Bill Newman,
- 24:02Speaker 2: who was an eyewitness who looks way too young to
- 24:05Speaker 2: have been a married man with children when this happened.
- 24:10Speaker 4: Yes, I that immediately peaked my like bullshit radar, because
- 24:16Speaker 4: that guy would have to be at least what seventy two?
- 24:22Speaker 3: Yeah, Like this was two thousand and nine and JFK
- 24:26Speaker 3: was killed in what sixty three?
- 24:28Speaker 2: Yeah, he would be like, yeah, he's like he's deep
- 24:32Speaker 2: sixties at least.
- 24:34Speaker 4: Well no, but no, but he can't be sixty at
- 24:37Speaker 4: the time that this episode came out. I mean maybe
- 24:40Speaker 4: I guess he could be like, I don't know, man,
- 24:44Speaker 4: he did not unless he like, yeah, I could buy
- 24:49Speaker 4: him being the kid in that picture.
- 24:51Speaker 2: Because yeah, this would have been about forty five years later.
- 24:56Speaker 4: Yeah, they just keep showing one picture as supposedly him
- 25:00Speaker 4: with his wife and kid on the lawn, and I'm
- 25:03Speaker 4: like that he's got to be the kid.
- 25:05Speaker 3: Right, Yeah, because well if he was like twenty.
- 25:08Speaker 4: Right, that's what I'm thinking.
- 25:09Speaker 3: Then he would be like sixty five during that interview,
- 25:13Speaker 3: so he could just be as he could be a
- 25:16Speaker 3: rough sixty five.
- 25:17Speaker 4: Well, no, I think he looks not old enough.
- 25:20Speaker 3: Yeah, you're right, you're right, he looks younger. Yeah, he
- 25:24Speaker 3: looks like.
- 25:25Speaker 4: He is like my mom's age, and my mom was
- 25:28Speaker 4: born in sixty four.
- 25:29Speaker 2: Yeah, he doesn't look like a senior. He's got gray hair,
- 25:32Speaker 2: but he doesn't look like a senior citizen.
- 25:34Speaker 4: No, right, exactly. He looks like a older, middle aged
- 25:38Speaker 4: guy crisis actor. Anyway. I also, just in general, I
- 25:43Speaker 4: didn't really fully understand his purpose as an expert hye witness.
- 25:48Speaker 2: Yeah, he's just saying he was never interviewed by the
- 25:50Speaker 2: Warren Commission, but he was interviewed. Yeah, so maybe the
- 25:54Speaker 2: Warren Commission was like, okay, well we have that statement.
- 25:56Speaker 2: That's one less interview we have to do cool.
- 25:59Speaker 4: Right, It's also like, you know, like he's just a
- 26:03Speaker 4: guy who was there. He could have also interviewed Gary Sonise,
- 26:08Speaker 4: you know, like yeah, dad could interviewed him, right of course, yeah,
- 26:14Speaker 4: because he was there in the book Deposit shooting. Is
- 26:19Speaker 4: that the No, he's his dad is is his dad
- 26:22Speaker 4: le No? His dad helped learvy Oswell, that was it.
- 26:25Speaker 4: I can't keep track. There's so much bullshit from the
- 26:28Speaker 4: last few years that it's hard to keep track of
- 26:31Speaker 4: what it all is.
- 26:32Speaker 2: They do talk about the magic bullet theory, which is bullshit,
- 26:35Speaker 2: like that's yes, that is.
- 26:37Speaker 3: That that that was tried.
- 26:39Speaker 2: That anyone tried to pass that off to the American
- 26:42Speaker 2: public as actual conclusions regarding what happened to JFK is insane.
- 26:49Speaker 2: It makes no Like it's called the magic bullet theory.
- 26:53Speaker 2: So the government's official stance was magic. No.
- 26:56Speaker 4: I think that that was a derogatory nickname applied to
- 27:00Speaker 4: it after the by other people, was it not. Yeah,
- 27:03Speaker 4: I think that's what the government called it.
- 27:06Speaker 3: But still no, I mean, yeah, it's appropriate. Which it's
- 27:10Speaker 3: a weird.
- 27:11Speaker 4: It's a weird cook in the whole single shooter uh
- 27:17Speaker 4: uh at you know, angle on it. It's just a
- 27:20Speaker 4: weird but like you know, uh, there are x the
- 27:23Speaker 4: problem is and the problem with a lot of this
- 27:26Speaker 4: stuff and again the reason why literally we'll just never
- 27:29Speaker 4: ever know what happened with this is because there for
- 27:32Speaker 4: a lot of the things that are you know, called
- 27:35Speaker 4: unbelievable about the single shooter theory, there are still plausible explanations,
- 27:41Speaker 4: like they are still like something that could happen. Whether
- 27:44Speaker 4: or not they did happen is another thing.
- 27:47Speaker 2: But yeah, the thing that I feel like no one,
- 27:51Speaker 2: no theory except the Secret Service theory, has ever explained
- 27:55Speaker 2: is the discrepancy in the bullet wounds in JFK. Because
- 28:00Speaker 2: there's one shot to his head where the bullet acts
- 28:05Speaker 2: in one way, and then there's another shot where the
- 28:07Speaker 2: bullet acts a very different way, right, and that doesn't
- 28:11Speaker 2: happen with the same kind of ammunition, and Lee Harvey
- 28:15Speaker 2: Oswald obviously didn't change ammunition, no mid shots, So what
- 28:22Speaker 2: explains that second bullet hole?
- 28:24Speaker 4: I mean, look, yeah, I don't know, you know, there's
- 28:28Speaker 4: just a lot of weird, loose ends, I think, and
- 28:32Speaker 4: that it's just something that one of the things that
- 28:34Speaker 4: has perpetuated this specific conspiracy theory for so long, even
- 28:40Speaker 4: though in the long run I think it has less
- 28:43Speaker 4: impact on the world than, for instance, the topic of
- 28:49Speaker 4: the next episode. Sure, yeah, but like I think one
- 28:54Speaker 4: of the things that's made it persistent is that there
- 28:56Speaker 4: are so many of these threads, way more than could
- 29:01Speaker 4: possibly be covered in this forty minute episode, and way
- 29:04Speaker 4: more than like you would have to do an entire
- 29:07Speaker 4: podcast separately to cover every kind of loose end that
- 29:12Speaker 4: doesn't add up. Like, there's no one theory so far,
- 29:15Speaker 4: the secret Service one is the one that comes best
- 29:18Speaker 4: to me, Like, there's no one theory that explains every
- 29:22Speaker 4: weird aspect of this, and it happened so long ago,
- 29:25Speaker 4: and yeah, it's just this, it's just and that unresolved
- 29:30Speaker 4: nature of it, I think is just just what keeps
- 29:33Speaker 4: it going and going.
- 29:34Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 29:35Speaker 2: Uh So, now we get to the part where Jesse
- 29:38Speaker 2: tries to get those three shots off in the same
- 29:40Speaker 2: amount of time. Lee Harvey Oswald is led to have
- 29:43Speaker 2: done it, and boy is that fun television to watch.
- 29:46Speaker 3: He is so frustrated.
- 29:48Speaker 4: It was it was really I again, this is another
- 29:52Speaker 4: one of those moments that I have had this a
- 29:54Speaker 4: couple of times watching these these conspiracy theory episodes is
- 29:59Speaker 4: I would never let this go to air like if
- 30:04Speaker 4: like it would be way too embarrassing. And I know
- 30:07Speaker 4: it technically proves the point he was trying to make,
- 30:12Speaker 4: but like he just is so evidently untrained with this
- 30:18Speaker 4: firearm and has no real understanding of how to operate it,
- 30:23Speaker 4: and he blames it all on it just being impossible
- 30:27Speaker 4: to happen.
- 30:28Speaker 2: He also says a really weird thing leading up to
- 30:31Speaker 2: it that I felt like needed a little bit of citation,
- 30:35Speaker 2: which is that, well, Lee Harvey Oswald, his rank in
- 30:39Speaker 2: the military was marksman and that's the lowest level. I
- 30:43Speaker 2: was like, what it starts at marksman that like every
- 30:49Speaker 2: person in the military is a fucking marksman.
- 30:53Speaker 3: That doesn't sound right whatsoever.
- 30:55Speaker 4: He was, Lee Harvey Oswald was a fully trained marx Men,
- 31:00Speaker 4: Like he was an extremely capable shot like that that
- 31:06Speaker 4: isn't even in question. You can't even really debate that,
- 31:11Speaker 4: like it just as a matter of fact, and yeah,
- 31:15Speaker 4: it's extremely plain. He's like no, but no, but marksman
- 31:18Speaker 4: is that's like the lowest rade. It's like, what, Yeah,
- 31:21Speaker 4: that's why the Soviet recruited him, That's what that's Yeah.
- 31:26Speaker 2: So yeah, he's not able to get those shots off.
- 31:29Speaker 2: But most people at all, Yeah, most people have not
- 31:32Speaker 2: been able to.
- 31:33Speaker 3: Well it's that one guy.
- 31:35Speaker 4: Well here's the thing and again, and this is this
- 31:37Speaker 4: is something that it is important to talk about. Is that,
- 31:41Speaker 4: for one thing, whether or not he hit all three times,
- 31:45Speaker 4: getting three shots off within that time period with that rifle,
- 31:48Speaker 4: if you are trained in it is very possible. And
- 31:50Speaker 4: that's that, you know, it's about accuracy aside. But also
- 31:57Speaker 4: the thing about repeating a thing like this, even with
- 32:01Speaker 4: people who are you know, as skilled with the rifle,
- 32:05Speaker 4: you know, know it as well, is that you know,
- 32:08Speaker 4: he only needed to do it the one time, that's it. Yeah,
- 32:12Speaker 4: you know, like and he only really needed to get
- 32:15Speaker 4: one of those three to hit the mark.
- 32:18Speaker 2: Yeah, he could have done it and been like I
- 32:19Speaker 2: thought that was gonna be way harder.
- 32:21Speaker 4: Holy, yeah, I mean exactly, or you know, maybe it
- 32:25Speaker 4: was on the second shot or I don't know, like,
- 32:27Speaker 4: you know, again, I got him, wow, Like and maybe
- 32:31Speaker 4: he did get him, and maybe the Secret Service agent
- 32:34Speaker 4: shot him accidentally, like shot his dead body accidentally, and
- 32:38Speaker 4: then that's you know where those other weird wounds come from.
- 32:41Speaker 2: But that's the theory. That's Jim Fetzer's theory. He was
- 32:44Speaker 2: a ballistics guy and he was like, I think Oswald
- 32:48Speaker 2: hit him once and the Secret Service hit him the
- 32:50Speaker 2: second time.
- 32:51Speaker 4: Yeah, exactly, So you know, like that's the that just
- 32:54Speaker 4: makes the most sense to me.
- 32:56Speaker 2: That's what I love about that theory is it makes
- 32:59Speaker 2: every buddy right, sure, Lee Harvey Oswald was technically acting alone.
- 33:04Speaker 2: Maybe yeah, he did fire some shots, right, but then
- 33:09Speaker 2: the government did actually kill Kennedy and then launched a
- 33:13Speaker 2: cover up over the fact that they killed Kennedy.
- 33:16Speaker 3: Like, right, it's just not the cover up that we
- 33:19Speaker 3: think it is.
- 33:19Speaker 4: Yeah, I guess the only ones that doesn't cover are
- 33:23Speaker 4: like that the mafia did it or something, you know, yeah,
- 33:27Speaker 4: like one of those, or like it was the Pope. No,
- 33:32Speaker 4: and like you know, you could even wrap in the
- 33:35Speaker 4: Soviet angle to that, because you know, it's it's you
- 33:39Speaker 4: can't disprove that Oswald wasn't also, you know, at least
- 33:44Speaker 4: in contact with Soviets. I mean, he just moved back
- 33:47Speaker 4: from there.
- 33:48Speaker 2: So you know, yeah, Soviets and the CIA both because
- 33:53Speaker 2: they do mention that after he defects to Russia he
- 33:56Speaker 2: comes back here with little to no problem. Yeah, which
- 34:00Speaker 2: doesn't seem like a thing that would happen during the
- 34:03Speaker 2: Cold War. It seems like you'd come back and you'd
- 34:05Speaker 2: immediately get black bagged and asked a whole lot of.
- 34:08Speaker 3: Questions by government.
- 34:10Speaker 2: So it's possible that he his defection was like a
- 34:14Speaker 2: CIA thing.
- 34:15Speaker 3: Maybe yeah, who knows, And you know, maybe he was
- 34:19Speaker 3: set up as a patsy after the fact. I don't know.
- 34:22Speaker 4: Maybe. I mean, like, like we said, there's there's a
- 34:25Speaker 4: lot of have you have you read this is like diversion.
- 34:29Speaker 4: Have you read Stephen King's book eleven twenty two sixty three?
- 34:33Speaker 3: I have not.
- 34:35Speaker 4: It's it's pretty good, you know, for late late period
- 34:38Speaker 4: Stephen King, which is you know, pretty.
- 34:39Speaker 3: Hit or miss.
- 34:40Speaker 4: It's I really liked it. It's basically just like the
- 34:44Speaker 4: time travel is just an excuse for him to write
- 34:46Speaker 4: a story set in Texas in this in the fifties
- 34:49Speaker 4: and sixties, as he I'm sure is wont to do.
- 34:54Speaker 4: But it is like, you know, it takes the single
- 34:59Speaker 4: shooter and just kind of runs with it, and uh,
- 35:04Speaker 4: you know, he has the main character like uh stalking
- 35:08Speaker 4: you know, uh Oswald, you know, in the in the
- 35:11Speaker 4: months leading up to his you know, the the assassination
- 35:16Speaker 4: and like, you know a lot of meetings with shady
- 35:20Speaker 4: Russian figures and that sort of thing. It's just it's
- 35:22Speaker 4: just an interesting companion and and it it's it's it,
- 35:26Speaker 4: you know, it's compelling enough to make you think that
- 35:28Speaker 4: a single shooter is not like completely uh unlikely. It's good,
- 35:34Speaker 4: good book. The TV series seemed kind of I stopped
- 35:38Speaker 4: watching him.
- 35:39Speaker 3: Yeah, I couldn't get into the TV series.
- 35:41Speaker 4: Yeah, the book is way better.
- 35:43Speaker 2: So yeah, there's a weird moment here where Jesse interviews
- 35:47Speaker 2: Lee Harvey Oswald's widow.
- 35:49Speaker 3: Oh yeah, but not really. He just talks to her
- 35:52Speaker 3: on the phone and he goes to her house.
- 35:54Speaker 4: Well, okay, he talks to her on the phone in
- 35:58Speaker 4: heavy air quotes and that we don't hear a single
- 36:02Speaker 4: thing from the other end of the phone.
- 36:04Speaker 3: Yeah, it's not even like wah wah wah.
- 36:07Speaker 4: It's like shitty New Heart like where he's just like, oh, oh,
- 36:12Speaker 4: you don't want to talk to me.
- 36:14Speaker 3: Oh I'm sorry, Oh no.
- 36:16Speaker 4: You don't need to call the authorities. It's okay, you know,
- 36:19Speaker 4: or whatever, like yeah, it's just he's just repeating what
- 36:22Speaker 4: she is supposedly saying. And yeah, I don't know. I
- 36:26Speaker 4: don't know very how well I believe that that happened.
- 36:30Speaker 3: Well, then he got he goes to her house.
- 36:33Speaker 4: Right, yeah, that does that did happen.
- 36:35Speaker 2: We don't see her face and we don't hear anything
- 36:39Speaker 2: she says, but he does claim that she she believed
- 36:45Speaker 2: that Lee Harvey Oswald was a CIA related somehow, right,
- 36:50Speaker 2: and uh she refuses to appear on camera.
- 36:54Speaker 3: She says, would you sacrifice your children for the truth.
- 36:56Speaker 3: It's like, yeah, all right, calm down.
- 36:58Speaker 4: Well, he says, she said, Richie, sacrifice your children for
- 37:03Speaker 4: the truth.
- 37:03Speaker 2: Well, I trust Jesse Ventura implicitly, of course, in all matters.
- 37:08Speaker 4: Yeah, definitely.
- 37:10Speaker 3: So so next.
- 37:11Speaker 2: June, Sarpong just calls Jesse out of the blue and
- 37:14Speaker 2: is like, fucking sit down, stop what you're doing. I
- 37:18Speaker 2: got new information. And she says she has a contact
- 37:22Speaker 2: who claims there's a connection between George H. W. Bush
- 37:26Speaker 2: and the JFK assassination. And it's like, hello, the nineties
- 37:30Speaker 2: called and they want their conspiracy theory back. That's been
- 37:35Speaker 2: bandied about for a long long time.
- 37:38Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean all of this shit had like this
- 37:41Speaker 4: is the whole problem with this episode. It's like this
- 37:45Speaker 4: is all well tried territory by many many people.
- 37:51Speaker 2: Yeah, I had never I don't think i'd ever heard
- 37:53Speaker 2: the claim that George W. Bush at one point was like, yeah,
- 37:56Speaker 2: I don't remember where I was when JFK was assessed.
- 37:59Speaker 4: Georgia Shap George H. W. No, I hadn't heard that bit.
- 38:02Speaker 4: That's funny if.
- 38:04Speaker 3: That's true, that come on.
- 38:07Speaker 4: But also I could absolutely see him not remembering where
- 38:12Speaker 4: he was when JFK.
- 38:13Speaker 3: Was shot, except for the fact that he was in Dallas.
- 38:17Speaker 4: Yes, I know that's what I mean. It didn't have
- 38:22Speaker 4: all his marbles towards the end.
- 38:24Speaker 3: Well, that's not towards the end, that was nineteen sixty three.
- 38:27Speaker 4: Well, but the question was asked of him later though,
- 38:31Speaker 4: Oh was it? I think so still Anyway, regardless, even
- 38:36Speaker 4: in nineteen sixty three, I'm sure he couldn't remember like
- 38:39Speaker 4: fucking witch shoe to put on first. Anyway.
- 38:42Speaker 2: So there's this figure that comes up a bunch in
- 38:45Speaker 2: this George des Morn Shield.
- 38:47Speaker 4: Yes, yes, who famous sin conspiracy theories.
- 38:51Speaker 2: I think, yes, especially this one, especially this one because
- 38:56Speaker 2: he has connections to Lee Harvey Oswald, which Oswald's wife
- 39:00Speaker 2: allegedly confirmed to Jesse Ventura that Oswald was in touch
- 39:05Speaker 2: with George de Mornshield and he also has connections to
- 39:09Speaker 2: George hw Bush, so much so that he allegedly wrote
- 39:13Speaker 2: George hw Bush a letter and was like, hey, I
- 39:17Speaker 2: need some help. I think I'm in trouble. I may
- 39:21Speaker 2: have talked a little too much about the JFK thing
- 39:24Speaker 2: and people might be after me now.
- 39:26Speaker 3: And he ends up dead from.
- 39:29Speaker 2: A shotgun wound to the head about six months after
- 39:33Speaker 2: sending that letter.
- 39:35Speaker 4: Sounds like natural causes.
- 39:37Speaker 3: Yeah, it was probably hw Bush. Body count. Who's keeping
- 39:43Speaker 3: track of that one?
- 39:44Speaker 4: Oh my god? Who can so?
- 39:48Speaker 2: Jesse heads to La to interview Vincent Bugliosi, who was
- 39:52Speaker 2: the prosecutor who put Charles Manson away.
- 39:54Speaker 3: And he's a tool. This guy's a fucking tool.
- 39:57Speaker 4: Well he's a prosecutor.
- 39:59Speaker 2: Yeah, this whole thing is Look, man, the Warren Commission
- 40:03Speaker 2: said Leejaveallswold acted alone, and that's like his whole basis
- 40:07Speaker 2: for everything.
- 40:08Speaker 4: Yeah, no one believes the Warren Commission that guy. Uh yeah,
- 40:13Speaker 4: he was a belligerent ass. I was not a fan
- 40:15Speaker 4: of him.
- 40:16Speaker 3: He uh he makes him turn the camera off event.
- 40:18Speaker 4: Yeah, that was funny. I did like that part, I
- 40:21Speaker 4: will say.
- 40:22Speaker 2: And for now no real reason, Like Jesse venture is
- 40:25Speaker 2: just like whoa what about?
- 40:26Speaker 3: And the guy like gets irate.
- 40:28Speaker 4: I think maybe he was just like annoyed.
- 40:32Speaker 3: By jesse Ventura. That doesn't true.
- 40:34Speaker 4: No, how could that happen?
- 40:36Speaker 3: That doesn't add up at all.
- 40:38Speaker 4: He doesn't seem like a lot to deal with.
- 40:41Speaker 2: So the last person jesse Ventura talks to is Saint
- 40:45Speaker 2: John Hunt, the son of E. Howard Hunt, who is
- 40:48Speaker 2: a very famous figure in political history. He is one
- 40:52Speaker 2: of the Watergate perpetrators. Yes, Cia, guy.
- 40:57Speaker 3: Go ahead, it's a I got it.
- 40:59Speaker 4: Is a move to name your kids saint Saint it is, Yeah,
- 41:04Speaker 4: Saint John sacked John. I guess it's like his dad's
- 41:09Speaker 4: e out E Howard. Is that so it's like Saint John?
- 41:13Speaker 3: Is that?
- 41:13Speaker 4: Is that the logic there?
- 41:15Speaker 3: I don't know, Uh yeah, I have no idea anyway.
- 41:18Speaker 4: I just think that's a yeah, you know, it's a
- 41:20Speaker 4: bold name. It's a bold move, bold move, A lot
- 41:23Speaker 4: of expectations there.
- 41:25Speaker 2: He thinks his dad was one of the three tramps
- 41:28Speaker 2: who were arrested shortly after Kennedy was killed, which they've
- 41:32Speaker 2: always been an interesting side detail to the story for me.
- 41:38Speaker 2: One of them does actually look like e. Howard hunt
- 41:41Speaker 2: for Ky in the fact he does, he fucking does.
- 41:44Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 41:44Speaker 2: One of the things people said about them is like
- 41:47Speaker 2: they look too well dressed and like their fingernails weren't dirty.
- 41:51Speaker 2: But they're tramps. They're like hobos. Yeah, that doesn't super
- 41:56Speaker 2: duper add up.
- 41:57Speaker 3: And here's the thing.
- 41:58Speaker 2: You talk to, uh, people who sell drugs, like if
- 42:02Speaker 2: you've seen the wire, like that comes up on the wire,
- 42:04Speaker 2: Like this guy's about to go out and do undercover
- 42:07Speaker 2: work and another cop stops him and is like, look
- 42:09Speaker 2: at your shoes. They're beautiful. Yeah, like you don't look
- 42:12Speaker 2: like a drug addict at all. Those shoes would be
- 42:16Speaker 2: wrecked if you were who you are actually trying to be.
- 42:19Speaker 2: So that is it is an oversight that happens when
- 42:22Speaker 2: people are doing undercover shit.
- 42:23Speaker 3: But here's the thing.
- 42:25Speaker 2: I kind of expect the CIA to be there, whether
- 42:27Speaker 2: they killed Kennedy he or not.
- 42:28Speaker 4: Sure, Yeah, I mean totally. I mean, you know, the
- 42:31Speaker 4: CIA is probably you know, in my backyard right now.
- 42:34Speaker 4: I don't know they're everywhere.
- 42:36Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, they really are. But his dad gave a
- 42:39Speaker 2: deathbed confession and said he participated in the assassination of JFK. Yeah,
- 42:46Speaker 2: and he he claimed LBJ was involved because he had
- 42:50Speaker 2: a maniacal desire to become president, which is.
- 42:53Speaker 4: Unquote Yeah, I mean that tracks.
- 42:56Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 42:56Speaker 2: And the thing is the this episode doesn't really present
- 43:01Speaker 2: any theory in particular, It just throws out a bunch
- 43:05Speaker 2: of theories that had been kind of covered before.
- 43:09Speaker 4: Yeah, that's the tactic of one of the of an
- 43:11Speaker 4: episode of the show when they don't really have an
- 43:15Speaker 4: interesting hook. Honestly, they just kind of throw everything at
- 43:19Speaker 4: the wall and see what is the stickiest. I guess,
- 43:23Speaker 4: because like, you know, the big through line is like
- 43:27Speaker 4: the Nixon Watergate stuff, but even that gets picked up
- 43:31Speaker 4: and dropped, and you know, they move on to a
- 43:33Speaker 4: bunch of stuff that doesn't make sense if it's involved
- 43:36Speaker 4: with Nixon and Watergate. And yeah, they don't have a viewpoint.
- 43:40Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a frustrating episode.
- 43:42Speaker 2: And I don't know, I guess the theory that we
- 43:46Speaker 2: wanted to invade Cuba again and Kennedy wouldn't let us
- 43:50Speaker 2: that seems like the only real theory they present.
- 43:52Speaker 3: I don't buy it. Yeah, Nah, I don't buy it.
- 43:55Speaker 3: I still buy I still I still stand by the
- 43:57Speaker 3: Secret Service. Yeah, accident we killed Kennedy.
- 44:01Speaker 4: That's the one that I think, like I said, covers
- 44:05Speaker 4: the most of the loose ends, even if it still
- 44:08Speaker 4: misses some of the weird stuff like that just makes
- 44:12Speaker 4: the most sense.
- 44:14Speaker 3: Yeah, but I don't know. We won't find out until
- 44:16Speaker 3: Biden declassifies all those documents.
- 44:19Speaker 4: Oh for sure. Yeah. No, well then we'll definitely find
- 44:22Speaker 4: out for sure.
- 44:24Speaker 3: Trying to do that too.
- 44:26Speaker 4: I think, so who knows what the fuck you he
- 44:29Speaker 4: was trying to do? So much dumb shit. Like here's
- 44:31Speaker 4: the thing, and you know, first of all, we'll never
- 44:35Speaker 4: know no matter how many documents get declassified. This is
- 44:38Speaker 4: just something we'll never know when there will always be
- 44:41Speaker 4: different theories about it.
- 44:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 44:43Speaker 4: But also, and this is again I've said this before
- 44:47Speaker 4: and I'll probably say it again about these big like
- 44:50Speaker 4: this and nine to eleven, And like, I just don't
- 44:53Speaker 4: think it matters. I really don't. I don't think it
- 44:56Speaker 4: materially affects our world at all.
- 44:58Speaker 3: Yeah, not at this point.
- 45:00Speaker 4: No, I mean, like it's already on the ball, Like
- 45:02Speaker 4: everything that has happened has happened.
- 45:04Speaker 2: Yeah, and that and it's not just because of a
- 45:07Speaker 2: time thing like there are things that have happened a
- 45:09Speaker 2: long time ago that I feel like if we found
- 45:12Speaker 2: out like Roswell, Like if we definitively knew what happened.
- 45:16Speaker 3: At Roswell, Yeah, that would probably have.
- 45:18Speaker 2: Some implications for for sure life today. But this, yeah, no,
- 45:22Speaker 2: I find out what the CIA was shady in the sixties.
- 45:26Speaker 4: Yeah, And I mean like even other assassination things, you know,
- 45:31Speaker 4: or other like CIA plots, and like there's just other
- 45:35Speaker 4: things that have like have a more concrete effect on
- 45:40Speaker 4: our lives other than like here's the thing, Like here's
- 45:43Speaker 4: the thing. JFK probably wasn't going to get re elected.
- 45:46Speaker 4: I mean maybe who knows.
- 45:48Speaker 1: But like.
- 45:50Speaker 4: The world would have still gone to shit over the
- 45:54Speaker 4: last sixty years regardless of whether JFK was assassinated or not,
- 45:58Speaker 4: and especially regardless of whether one person assassinated him and
- 46:03Speaker 4: another person didn't or whatever. Like the who did it
- 46:08Speaker 4: is easily the least important part, except for getting to
- 46:12Speaker 4: the motive. But like, I just don't see an outcome
- 46:15Speaker 4: where we still don't have a consolidation of conservative interests
- 46:20Speaker 4: around the country, and you know, continuing restrictions and capitalism
- 46:29Speaker 4: taking over and just all the things that are truly
- 46:33Speaker 4: causing us pain today. I don't think would have changed otherwise.
- 46:38Speaker 2: Yeah, is JFK the least important of those political assassinations
- 46:43Speaker 2: of that time? I mean because Max Fred Hampton and
- 46:47Speaker 2: Martin Luther King Junior are kind of like, yeah, three
- 46:51Speaker 2: heads of the same thing in terms of importance, Like
- 46:55Speaker 2: they were three facets one thing that had they coalesced, woof,
- 47:00Speaker 2: that was going to be a problem for the government.
- 47:03Speaker 4: I think RFK has to be the least consequential one,
- 47:08Speaker 4: just because he wasn't even president, like JFK was at
- 47:12Speaker 4: least president and did like cause a ripple effect of
- 47:17Speaker 4: other things outside of the whole conspiracy of who killed
- 47:21Speaker 4: him and why? So I think that has to be
- 47:25Speaker 4: more important. But like as far as compared to like
- 47:27Speaker 4: Malcolm X or MLK or you know a lot of
- 47:32Speaker 4: people from that era I can think of that would
- 47:36Speaker 4: definitely had a bigger impact. Fucking John Lennon I think
- 47:39Speaker 4: had a bigger is assassination kind of had a bigger
- 47:42Speaker 4: impact on our current world.
- 47:44Speaker 2: Yeah, oh man, so we cracked the case. We know
- 47:48Speaker 2: what happened to JFK. Thank you, Governor, We appreciate it.
- 47:52Speaker 2: On the next one, of these episodes. The next bonus up,
- 47:57Speaker 2: we're covering a really interesting episode. Yeah, from season two.
- 48:03Speaker 2: A's season two episode six. It's called world Wide Water Conspiracy,
- 48:07Speaker 2: and uh it's it's an alarming episode. And you can
- 48:11Speaker 2: tell it's alarming subject matter because at one point Alex
- 48:15Speaker 2: Jones shows up to just throw some bullshit into the mix.
- 48:19Speaker 4: God. Yeah, yes, yes, just like the last episode that
- 48:24Speaker 4: was actually about real stuff.
- 48:26Speaker 2: Yes, that's what Alex Jones does. He was Infiltrader.
- 48:32Speaker 4: I was fucking right on that episode the course. Ugh,
- 48:36Speaker 4: that guy.
- 48:37Speaker 2: So until then, do we have anything to plug before
- 48:42Speaker 2: we get out of here?
- 48:43Speaker 3: Olivia? Uh?
- 48:44Speaker 4: You know you follow me on Twitter at high there Hidar.
- 48:48Speaker 4: Uh Yeah, that's it for now.
- 48:50Speaker 2: I maybe later you can follow me on Twitter and
- 48:53Speaker 2: Instagram and Adam Todd Brown. You can also follow the
- 48:56Speaker 2: show on Twitter and Instagram at Conspira Pops.
- 48:59Speaker 3: I know. I said I was going to start.
- 49:00Speaker 2: Using the Conspiracy Instagram not too long ago, and then
- 49:05Speaker 2: I've been sick for something like four to six weeks.
- 49:09Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm glad you're feeling better.
- 49:10Speaker 3: I'm feeling a little better. Like I can work, I.
- 49:13Speaker 2: Don't have to sleep eighteen hours a day. So maybe
- 49:17Speaker 2: I will get to that conspiracy Instagram soon. But yeah,
- 49:20Speaker 2: so there's that, and I think that's it. As always,
- 49:24Speaker 2: check your pets for tics. That is the official sign
- 49:28Speaker 2: off of the show and let's get out of here.
- 49:30Speaker 2: Olivia say goodbye, bye, goodbye everybody.
- 49:34Speaker 3: We love you.
