- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous Podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Hey, everybody, welcome to the Almost Famous Podcast. I'm not Ben,
- 0:09Speaker 2: I'm not Ashley. I'm mister Ashley, Eye and Eddie coming
- 0:12Speaker 2: to you live from Ashley's glamor room in Ashley's house.
- 0:17Speaker 3: And Ashley well, actually you guys. Hey, we're here with
- 0:21Speaker 3: not just Ben but his beautiful and very pregnant wife, Jess.
- 0:26Speaker 3: You guys. Dawson has started to call it Mama's house.
- 0:29Speaker 3: He goes, are we gonna go back home to Mama's house?
- 0:32Speaker 3: And then it's m Yum's house, which is why my mom, Well,
- 0:35Speaker 3: it's actually Niam Niam Papa's house. I mean, for some reason,
- 0:37Speaker 3: he just lets you out of this.
- 0:39Speaker 4: He's just a three year old feminist.
- 0:41Speaker 2: He cares about, you know, power, empowering the females in
- 0:45Speaker 2: his life.
- 0:45Speaker 4: That's all. So it's your house, it's grandma's house.
- 0:49Speaker 3: That is so funny, so cute.
- 0:52Speaker 4: It's a very cute boy guys.
- 0:54Speaker 2: You guys, Yeah, Ben, it's gonna take till about Well,
- 0:58Speaker 2: it's different because you guys are having as I can't
- 1:00Speaker 2: tell because now I can rough house with Dawson, you know,
- 1:03Speaker 2: once he turned two, it really changed for me. Of course,
- 1:06Speaker 2: I always love Dawson, but now it's a whole different ballgame.
- 1:09Speaker 2: I remember one time I was talking to Ari and
- 1:11Speaker 2: Ari said that he wished he could fast forward his
- 1:13Speaker 2: kids till like two or three, because that's when it
- 1:16Speaker 2: really started to he bonded with them in a different way.
- 1:19Speaker 4: And then I was like, Oh, that's interesting, And now
- 1:21Speaker 4: I think of the same thing.
- 1:22Speaker 5: Yeah, I've had enough friends have babies that say the
- 1:26Speaker 5: same thing. Like, I don't have this wild expectation like
- 1:31Speaker 5: I think I'm what I expect out of myself is
- 1:34Speaker 5: that I'm going to have like almost like a primal
- 1:36Speaker 5: like protection instinct that I'm going to be on edge
- 1:41Speaker 5: just because that's who I am. But there'll be a
- 1:45Speaker 5: moment at some point where I'm like, oh, she's got me.
- 1:49Speaker 5: But like, I don't expect that right away. I'm expecting
- 1:52Speaker 5: to just be like a good you know, helper, support system,
- 1:57Speaker 5: diaper cleaner, swaddler at first, and then at some point,
- 2:02Speaker 5: like if if she's like ten, and I'm like, yeah,
- 2:04Speaker 5: I don't I don't have anything any connection.
- 2:06Speaker 3: I mean, I like you. Yeah, that's the one thing
- 2:11Speaker 3: that we've been so honest about is like, and I
- 2:13Speaker 3: don't actually think it's going to apply to you guys,
- 2:16Speaker 3: But we just didn't feel like when the baby came
- 2:19Speaker 3: out of my body like any sort of like heavenly moment.
- 2:22Speaker 3: We like took a while to it. It's not a while,
- 2:27Speaker 3: like a day.
- 2:28Speaker 4: I think it was just instant.
- 2:29Speaker 2: So many people told us like, oh my god, the
- 2:31Speaker 2: first time you lay eyes on your child, like your
- 2:33Speaker 2: life changes in that moment. And I remember looking at
- 2:36Speaker 2: Dawson and it was crazy. But it's just such a
- 2:38Speaker 2: crazy moment that you guys are about to experience. But like,
- 2:41Speaker 2: you know, the doctors are in the room and you know,
- 2:43Speaker 2: we're making sure you're gonna make sure that Jess is
- 2:45Speaker 2: okay and the baby's crying, and then they have to
- 2:47Speaker 2: take the baby and do all this stuff and it's
- 2:49Speaker 2: just like it's kind of chaotic, you know, there's no
- 2:51Speaker 2: sense of calmness and really soaking in and then it,
- 2:55Speaker 2: you know, in a few minutes, once everybody's settled down
- 2:58Speaker 2: and okay, you know you have time to really you know, you.
- 3:01Speaker 4: Swaddle the baby and hold them her.
- 3:04Speaker 2: And that's really nice, but it's just you know, once
- 3:07Speaker 2: like it you know what's gonna hit you.
- 3:09Speaker 4: It's the first time the baby smiles at you. That's
- 3:12Speaker 4: when it's gonna really hit you.
- 3:13Speaker 2: The first time, like, well she looks at you and smiles.
- 3:17Speaker 2: It takes a few months, that's what I mean. Though,
- 3:19Speaker 2: it takes a few months.
- 3:20Speaker 3: You know.
- 3:20Speaker 2: The first few months it's just you're just keeping this
- 3:22Speaker 2: thing alive and just so adorable and so wonderful and
- 3:26Speaker 2: cuddling great. But it's really like once the baby starts,
- 3:29Speaker 2: once she starts looking at you and then she smiles,
- 3:32Speaker 2: that's when you're gonna be like, okay, ah.
- 3:34Speaker 3: Right, Jessa is gonna feel it instantly, though, like I
- 3:37Speaker 3: know this, like she said that sheels it. I never
- 3:40Speaker 3: felt connected to it in my body. And she's like
- 3:43Speaker 3: telling me, She's like, I don't even think I can
- 3:45Speaker 3: wait twenty four hours for like me to be fully dilated.
- 3:49Speaker 3: I just need to meet her right now.
- 3:51Speaker 6: So SAMs about meeting her.
- 3:53Speaker 4: That's why.
- 3:54Speaker 6: Is like I've literally had dreams about like giving birth
- 3:57Speaker 6: and holding her, and then I wake up and she's
- 3:58Speaker 6: not there, and it's like this saddest thing ever. Like
- 4:01Speaker 6: I'm so excited to meet her. But I also like
- 4:05Speaker 6: now that I know when how soon we are to
- 4:08Speaker 6: having her. I have this mental block of like actually imagining.
- 4:11Speaker 6: I'm sure most women have this, but like I can't
- 4:14Speaker 6: imagine pushing a baby out of my body, like I
- 4:16Speaker 6: actually it's like a complete block.
- 4:19Speaker 3: Yeah, Like I couldn't conceptualize that. So I was like,
- 4:23Speaker 3: can I please have a sea section? I was like,
- 4:25Speaker 3: for some reason, I can conceptualize a surgery, but I
- 4:29Speaker 3: don't know how this is going to slide out of
- 4:31Speaker 3: my body and very glad I didn't have a sea
- 4:34Speaker 3: section now, And I was like, I've told you not
- 4:37Speaker 3: scared this scept for the second birth. If lucky, it's
- 4:41Speaker 3: not scary.
- 4:43Speaker 2: You're you.
- 4:43Speaker 6: Texting me has made me feel so much better because
- 4:45Speaker 6: I'm like, that's so sweety, I can do this. Like
- 4:48Speaker 6: it's just I feel like a lot of people don't
- 4:50Speaker 6: tell you exactly what happens and like exactly what to expect,
- 4:54Speaker 6: and the unknown is what makes it so scary.
- 4:56Speaker 3: I think, yes, the first it's so unknown and so scary,
- 5:02Speaker 3: but it's like it's really, in today's modern medical age,
- 5:08Speaker 3: it doesn't have to be. It's really really doesn't have
- 5:11Speaker 3: to be scary. It's crazy, Like I'm telling you I
- 5:13Speaker 3: feared it so much my whole life. And then the
- 5:17Speaker 3: second time, I acted as if I was going in
- 5:19Speaker 3: for like a routine, like what the heck? Like I
- 5:22Speaker 3: was like going for like idental cleaning, and Jared, He's like,
- 5:25Speaker 3: the second time, I could have done that. It looks
- 5:28Speaker 3: so you made that look so easy. I could have
- 5:30Speaker 3: done that.
- 5:31Speaker 2: Listen, I am a man, and I am the weaker
- 5:34Speaker 2: gender here. I have I do not I There's no
- 5:38Speaker 2: two ways about that. Like I don't think I could
- 5:40Speaker 2: do pregnancy. I mean, of course I could do it,
- 5:42Speaker 2: but it looks terrible, no offense. I mean, you guys
- 5:45Speaker 2: are always sick. It just takes such a toll on
- 5:47Speaker 2: your body. Like I look at my mother and I'm like, oh,
- 5:49Speaker 2: thank you for everything you've done for me, even not
- 5:51Speaker 2: even just raising me, but carrying me in your womb
- 5:53Speaker 2: for nine months.
- 5:54Speaker 3: I mean it changing two ounce body out of.
- 6:00Speaker 2: And she had no EPI dural, the poor thing. I
- 6:02Speaker 2: can't believe she's alive. But but yeah, the second time,
- 6:08Speaker 2: I felt very comfortable telling Ashley this because it was
- 6:11Speaker 2: not the dorm arm got so lucky, so lucky, but
- 6:17Speaker 2: I mean Ashley got induced.
- 6:18Speaker 4: We went in it was like a doctor's appointment.
- 6:20Speaker 2: They had her all set up and then they started
- 6:22Speaker 2: giving you the potassium potossum.
- 6:26Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 6:27Speaker 3: Uh.
- 6:27Speaker 2: And then they were like, do you want the epidural
- 6:30Speaker 2: and you're like, yeah, sure, they gave you the epi dural.
- 6:32Speaker 2: You're like, I didn't feel anything like even the needle
- 6:35Speaker 2: going in for the epi dural. And then you gave birth.
- 6:39Speaker 2: And then it was like two thirty in the afternoon
- 6:40Speaker 2: and you were walking around that night, and so of
- 6:42Speaker 2: course I went up to as that. I was like, Ashley,
- 6:44Speaker 2: what you've done is incredible, wonderful, carrying this child amazing.
- 6:47Speaker 2: But at the same time, I'm pretty sure my root
- 6:50Speaker 2: canal was.
- 6:51Speaker 4: Far worse than this.
- 6:53Speaker 3: Okay. Also, this was induction, so it was like a
- 6:57Speaker 3: lot less oh my god, I'm starting to have contractions
- 7:01Speaker 3: sort of thing. I was lying in the hostle bed.
- 7:03Speaker 3: I had the avdura before I started contracting a little lot.
- 7:05Speaker 3: It's definitely not the norm, but you what was I
- 7:10Speaker 3: gonna say? But I will say this, The worst part
- 7:12Speaker 3: of that one was I felt lightheaded towards the end
- 7:17Speaker 3: with pushing because pushing takes so much energy and I
- 7:20Speaker 3: hadn't eaten anything since before midnight that night because you're
- 7:24Speaker 3: not really supposed to write. So I was at over,
- 7:26Speaker 3: like I was. I got fourteen hours of fasting, which
- 7:29Speaker 3: is normally what I do. I'm kind of like an
- 7:30Speaker 3: inter minute faster. But when you have to do something
- 7:33Speaker 3: so physical as labor, you're like, oh crap, I need
- 7:36Speaker 3: some something of substance.
- 7:37Speaker 6: Yeah, I have heard that, like make sure that we
- 7:41Speaker 6: have I have like something to eat before I leave
- 7:42Speaker 6: the house, and like, I guess they'll give me gatorade
- 7:46Speaker 6: and stuff there. One of my girlfriends just gave birth
- 7:48Speaker 6: there and at the hospital we're going to and said,
- 7:50Speaker 6: they like, will give you popsicles. Yeah, popsicles helps you
- 7:54Speaker 6: want so that'll help.
- 7:55Speaker 3: Jared's hair part.
- 7:56Speaker 2: Ben, Ben will have some of the popsicles, give you
- 7:58Speaker 2: so many fantastic.
- 8:01Speaker 3: It's going to be the best support system during the labor.
- 8:05Speaker 3: Jared was great, he was he you were great.
- 8:09Speaker 4: But since there's some tone there.
- 8:13Speaker 3: The second time, he just acted as if like nothing
- 8:16Speaker 3: was really happening.
- 8:17Speaker 4: Nothing happened.
- 8:19Speaker 3: He was like just like whatever.
- 8:23Speaker 2: I mean, it was just I was there, I was
- 8:24Speaker 2: I was waiting, and then that you started pushing, and
- 8:26Speaker 2: then and then it was just like.
- 8:30Speaker 6: In the obstacle, I know for fact that that is
- 8:34Speaker 6: not going to be vince her mouth.
- 8:36Speaker 3: Well, I thought I thought Jared was going to pass
- 8:38Speaker 3: out the first time. I thought he was gonna be
- 8:40Speaker 3: one of those dads.
- 8:41Speaker 4: There's that risk, yeah about that, you know.
- 8:45Speaker 5: I I have been very calm for nine months with
- 8:53Speaker 5: like all the life change. Like I've been kind of
- 8:55Speaker 5: like in try to get like things done mode. I
- 8:58Speaker 5: told her yesterday, I think as soon as we step
- 9:01Speaker 5: into the hospital that like anything that I've like pushed
- 9:05Speaker 5: back because it just doesn't seem appropriate right now, is
- 9:09Speaker 5: going to come out and I'm going to be, oh,
- 9:12Speaker 5: pretty on edge. I could see myself passing out, but
- 9:16Speaker 5: I'm I'm going to be up top.
- 9:18Speaker 3: So you're saying you're not gonna look, and that is
- 9:20Speaker 3: exactly what we would advise. Jared had a bird's eye view,
- 9:23Speaker 3: which is a lot different than a full frontal view.
- 9:25Speaker 2: It doesn't matter. It's so stupid. They didn't even put
- 9:28Speaker 2: a towel on Ashley or any type of blanket until
- 9:31Speaker 2: we asked, you'll.
- 9:33Speaker 3: I didn't want to. I didn't want to see myself.
- 9:35Speaker 2: To be honest, this is not a movie. It's just
- 9:38Speaker 2: everything is right there. You're going unless you actively try
- 9:41Speaker 2: not to look, you're gonna see everything. Yeah, I mean
- 9:44Speaker 2: I just saw it.
- 9:45Speaker 5: That's maybe where like I'll start to get we's queasy.
- 9:49Speaker 5: But then we both decided I want to cut the
- 9:51Speaker 5: umbilical cord. My dad did it for me, and uh,
- 9:55Speaker 5: I don't know it just like it is something I
- 9:57Speaker 5: remember him telling me, and I'm like, that's pretty cool. Yeah,
- 10:00Speaker 5: I don't necessarily want to like there isn't like this like,
- 10:02Speaker 5: oh I cannot wait to be the one that cuts that. Like,
- 10:04Speaker 5: I think it's gonna be tough.
- 10:07Speaker 2: Mentally, you'll be fine, okay, because the doctors, everybody's just
- 10:11Speaker 2: right there. They're literally like I cut sambilical corn on
- 10:14Speaker 2: Dawson and hated. They practically grab your hand like a
- 10:19Speaker 2: preschool last It's just like here dad go snip.
- 10:22Speaker 4: Okay. Done. It's just like, oh wow, that was that
- 10:25Speaker 4: was it. I just okay, We're done.
- 10:28Speaker 3: This is so much fun. You guys you'll love telling
- 10:30Speaker 3: birth story the birth stories of your children too. So
- 10:33Speaker 3: I'm sorry we've like dominated we want to know all
- 10:35Speaker 3: the questions that you have for us, and but thank
- 10:38Speaker 3: you for letting us know whether you plan on looking
- 10:40Speaker 3: or not, because at first I was like, everything is
- 10:43Speaker 3: gonna be very discreet, nobody. I'm not seeing anything. You're
- 10:46Speaker 3: not seeing anything, as it's impossible. I know.
- 10:50Speaker 6: I've kind of been the same way, like you'll be
- 10:52Speaker 6: waist up, I'm not gonna ask for a mirror, so
- 10:54Speaker 6: like it, He'll just see my gown and the baby
- 10:57Speaker 6: will pop out and it's all gonna be great.
- 10:59Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 10:59Speaker 6: But I'm watching like an online labor and delivery video
- 11:03Speaker 6: and they're like describing all the other things that like
- 11:06Speaker 6: happen and come out, and I'm like, oh, Ben could
- 11:09Speaker 6: be in trouble.
- 11:10Speaker 3: Jared never saw the placenta, right or did you? And
- 11:13Speaker 3: you didn't tell me that? It seems gnarly. I never
- 11:16Speaker 3: saw my own.
- 11:17Speaker 4: I can't remember.
- 11:18Speaker 2: It's all just like a blur, honestly, because it all
- 11:22Speaker 2: just happens, you know, so fast, and then you know
- 11:25Speaker 2: the kids there and I'm focusing on the kid, and
- 11:27Speaker 2: I don't remember if I saw your placenta.
- 11:29Speaker 3: Or not, Dared, you would have known. It looks like
- 11:31Speaker 3: an organ comes out of your body, which it is,
- 11:33Speaker 3: an organ comes out of your body. It looks like
- 11:35Speaker 3: a looks like a liver.
- 11:37Speaker 4: Then probably not.
- 11:38Speaker 6: No, he said, I didn't see that.
- 11:42Speaker 4: I don't remember it. The Yeah.
- 11:45Speaker 5: I mean it's still weird to me, and maybe at
- 11:51Speaker 5: some point it changes, but like I don't feel still
- 11:54Speaker 5: at thirty five like I should be having like a child,
- 11:58Speaker 5: Like that's still a weird feeling of like we're days away,
- 12:02Speaker 5: hours away, moments away maybe from having a baby in
- 12:07Speaker 5: this house that now I'm responsible for. Her parents and
- 12:10Speaker 5: my parents have been uh, you know, I think it's
- 12:13Speaker 5: a generational thing. They are so excited to help that
- 12:16Speaker 5: that has been a comfort. That has been like a weightlift,
- 12:20Speaker 5: because it's like, oh, we're not just like doing this alone.
- 12:23Speaker 5: Like I think maybe past generations felt like they were
- 12:25Speaker 5: doing like hey go home and you two figure this out.
- 12:27Speaker 5: It's like, no, we got a good support system, which
- 12:29Speaker 5: is super nice. We've been doing Whalan baby training and
- 12:34Speaker 5: he's been crushing it, so that's been super nice. Here's
- 12:39Speaker 5: the weirdest thing for me right now. I just got
- 12:41Speaker 5: off a board meeting before this call, and there's some
- 12:44Speaker 5: moms on the call.
- 12:46Speaker 4: Jared. I don't know if you ever experienced this, but
- 12:49Speaker 4: now that the.
- 12:49Speaker 5: You know, our little girl is big, fully developed, moving
- 12:53Speaker 5: around a lot, having parties at night, and her belly
- 12:56Speaker 5: she's like punching, kicking, you know.
- 12:59Speaker 4: And I and last night was the.
- 13:01Speaker 5: First time where I thought, oh, we're going to the hospital,
- 13:03Speaker 5: like this is like Jess was like win seeing, couldn't
- 13:05Speaker 5: really get words out, and I was like, this is
- 13:07Speaker 5: this is the moment, right She's like no, she was
- 13:11Speaker 5: just in a weird spot and kind of like pushing
- 13:13Speaker 5: against it and kicking it. And right away I didn't
- 13:16Speaker 5: tell her this last night. I was like, you know,
- 13:17Speaker 5: when you're in a car wreck or like when you
- 13:19Speaker 5: have like a big injury, you have internal bruising, you're hospitalized.
- 13:24Speaker 4: For that, like that's a big deal.
- 13:27Speaker 5: But you have a human like using your stomach as
- 13:29Speaker 5: a punching bag right now, Like how is that?
- 13:32Speaker 4: Just?
- 13:33Speaker 5: Not?
- 13:33Speaker 4: Like how is that okay?
- 13:35Speaker 5: Like you have something inside of you directly making contact
- 13:38Speaker 5: with your organs like kicking, moving, pushing against and you're
- 13:43Speaker 5: still gonna like lay in bed and go to sleep tonight.
- 13:46Speaker 6: Or not going to sleep, No, not going or not
- 13:48Speaker 6: sleep for more than five minutes at all.
- 13:51Speaker 2: I know the human body is weird. I mean, it's
- 13:54Speaker 2: just it's a wonderful, wonderful thing, but it's weird when
- 13:58Speaker 2: you really think about everything that goes into especially with pregnancy. Yeah,
- 14:02Speaker 2: I mean, not to be graphic, but like that punching
- 14:07Speaker 2: bag is just going to be coming out of you know,
- 14:11Speaker 2: your wife pretty soon, just.
- 14:13Speaker 4: As not a big girl.
- 14:15Speaker 3: Well I've thought about that too, because you were telling
- 14:17Speaker 3: me about like you're dilating being you know, your doctor
- 14:21Speaker 3: was warning you how slow it could be, and I
- 14:23Speaker 3: was like, yeah, you are tinier than me, so I
- 14:25Speaker 3: guess it could be slower. Yeah.
- 14:27Speaker 6: My doctor was like it could take twenty four to
- 14:29Speaker 6: forty eight hours, like once you get to the hospital,
- 14:32Speaker 6: and I'm like, I don't have that kind of time.
- 14:34Speaker 6: Like when you're in the hospital, I'm going to be like,
- 14:36Speaker 6: let's just do this thing, like I don't really care
- 14:38Speaker 6: what it takes.
- 14:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, my biggest advice would be go to
- 14:42Speaker 2: the hospital. If it takes twenty four to forty eight hours,
- 14:45Speaker 2: I mean, just bring I mean you'll be uncomfortable, but
- 14:48Speaker 2: you also you know, be taken care of and on
- 14:51Speaker 2: beds and and so like you know, bring books or
- 14:55Speaker 2: or don't rely on the TV in the real TV.
- 14:59Speaker 4: Don't do it.
- 15:00Speaker 2: Download efforts on your computer do something.
- 15:02Speaker 3: People are like, oh, I want to stay in the
- 15:04Speaker 3: hospital for a couple of days for them to like
- 15:06Speaker 3: give me, like, you know, like a hotel stay. I'm
- 15:08Speaker 3: like no, because the thing is you can't see or
- 15:10Speaker 3: hear at the TV.
- 15:11Speaker 4: You want to be back home.
- 15:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:13Speaker 2: The nice thing is that once the baby's born, the
- 15:16Speaker 2: nurses will take care help you take care of the
- 15:18Speaker 2: baby on the first However, many nights you're in the hospital,
- 15:20Speaker 2: so you can get some sleep because obviously once you're
- 15:23Speaker 2: back home.
- 15:23Speaker 3: Except for they do like to come in every other hour.
- 15:25Speaker 3: Do you need to pee? We're gonna do this. We're
- 15:28Speaker 3: gonna do that.
- 15:29Speaker 4: You don't really get a do they have medicine for
- 15:31Speaker 4: the dads.
- 15:46Speaker 3: What is crazy is that after birth, like you're only
- 15:49Speaker 3: gonna be pretty much given advill and thailand all if
- 15:52Speaker 3: it all goes according to plan. And you're like, wow,
- 15:55Speaker 3: that's like wacky.
- 15:57Speaker 6: My body is about to like double and triple and
- 16:00Speaker 6: and I only get advil or tilele.
- 16:06Speaker 4: What are some things that you're thinking about as we approach.
- 16:08Speaker 3: This, Yeah, ask me like the most graphic things that
- 16:11Speaker 3: you can ever imagine asking somebody.
- 16:13Speaker 5: On Actually, since the birth of Dawson has wanted somebody
- 16:17Speaker 5: just to ask her publicly, like, hey, did you poop
- 16:20Speaker 5: the bed? And she just wants to be able to answer,
- 16:22Speaker 5: like she's desiring to, Okay, well.
- 16:25Speaker 3: Did you No neither, but neither of them did you
- 16:28Speaker 3: nod or did no one tell you? They've told me
- 16:31Speaker 3: both times. I did not, and I'm pretty sure Jared
- 16:33Speaker 3: would have known, and that would have probably disturbed you.
- 16:37Speaker 4: No, I mean it would have been fine. You're pushing.
- 16:40Speaker 2: I mean in that moment when you're pushing it, poop
- 16:45Speaker 2: can easily just fly out of day, you know.
- 16:48Speaker 3: I remember that I went like within the twelve hours
- 16:53Speaker 3: before getting to the hospital too, so that like helped.
- 16:56Speaker 3: If I had gone like skipped to day like that
- 16:58Speaker 3: could have been worrisome.
- 17:00Speaker 6: Stern Law told me to start because they give you
- 17:02Speaker 6: the stool softeners in the hospital, and she said to
- 17:04Speaker 6: start like a couple of days before just so that
- 17:06Speaker 6: like which also makes me a little nervous.
- 17:08Speaker 3: It also makes you nervous, and that I could just
- 17:10Speaker 3: slide out, Yeah, exactly.
- 17:12Speaker 4: Another thing.
- 17:12Speaker 2: I don't know if this matters to you at all, Jess,
- 17:14Speaker 2: but one thing that mattered to Ashley that will maybe
- 17:17Speaker 2: make you feel better, is that once the baby is out,
- 17:20Speaker 2: you're just gonna lose so much like your stomach's gonna.
- 17:23Speaker 3: Jared, you're talking about me personally, You're not.
- 17:25Speaker 5: I don't know, No, I want to know this, Like
- 17:28Speaker 5: is that a thing we talked about the other day?
- 17:30Speaker 4: Heard? I like, is does it like shrink right away?
- 17:33Speaker 4: I mean I remember, like it's it's.
- 17:35Speaker 3: Going to be, you know, enlarged for a while. Yeah,
- 17:39Speaker 3: Jared's just making it's Jared just trying to make you
- 17:42Speaker 3: feel better. And the fact that like a lot of
- 17:44Speaker 3: the baby, wait, just actually falls off because a lot
- 17:47Speaker 3: of it is fluid and blood and the placenta and
- 17:50Speaker 3: like all these things. So to make you possibly feel better,
- 17:54Speaker 3: it took like three or four months for me to
- 17:57Speaker 3: just without really trying get back to my normal weight.
- 18:01Speaker 5: I'm talking about like the stomach, Like, I mean what
- 18:04Speaker 5: I imagine that stomach right.
- 18:05Speaker 4: Now is hard. It is like big.
- 18:09Speaker 5: There's like that, Like the weight is fine, but like
- 18:13Speaker 5: the stomach itself like doesn't stay like looking pregnant right
- 18:17Speaker 5: after that, right.
- 18:19Speaker 4: That's wow.
- 18:20Speaker 3: No, you'll look she'll look a little pregnant. She won't
- 18:23Speaker 3: look nine months anymore. I won't look like that, but
- 18:25Speaker 3: she might be like, look seven months, six months, the
- 18:28Speaker 3: days or so afterward, and then every like chunk of
- 18:32Speaker 3: days she'll get like months and months smaller.
- 18:36Speaker 5: Here's the other thing that I think needs to be
- 18:38Speaker 5: said publicly, and I know Jared can back me on
- 18:40Speaker 5: this because you, Ashley kind of like hinted at it.
- 18:45Speaker 5: I think there's maybe an idea here where the husband
- 18:49Speaker 5: is like there's a protection of like the mystery that
- 18:53Speaker 5: goes into childbirth and like, hey, you might poop the table.
- 18:57Speaker 5: Hey there's going to be blood everywhere. Hey, that's going
- 18:59Speaker 5: to really row my husband off. That is not a
- 19:02Speaker 5: concern for us. Like I want to let you know
- 19:04Speaker 5: we're married to the two of you because we love
- 19:07Speaker 5: you and we're like thankful for you. You can do
- 19:10Speaker 5: whatever you want on that table, and I'm not going
- 19:13Speaker 5: to be at home being like, hey, we can't like
- 19:15Speaker 5: touch tonight, Like that was really gross, Like that's not
- 19:17Speaker 5: a thought. That's not going to be a thing I'm
- 19:19Speaker 5: going to if you did all that. I think Jared
- 19:21Speaker 5: and I both would say, yeah, it would be more
- 19:24Speaker 5: almost like goodness, that's crazy, but like our attractiveness to
- 19:28Speaker 5: you does not fade because of that moment.
- 19:32Speaker 3: I was petrified of this the first time.
- 19:34Speaker 4: I know you were, But it's not a thing.
- 19:35Speaker 2: It's not, at least with us like maybe it is
- 19:37Speaker 2: with some I'm I'm way more affected by walking into
- 19:41Speaker 2: the bathroom.
- 19:41Speaker 4: After you after.
- 19:44Speaker 2: Than anything I've seen in the delivery rooms.
- 19:53Speaker 5: Yeah, so that's just like that's like a I think
- 19:56Speaker 5: a freedom going into this is like you can do
- 19:59Speaker 5: whatever you got to do on that table. Yeah, And
- 20:02Speaker 5: I'm just gonna be amazed and probably like if I
- 20:05Speaker 5: do get queasy, it ain't because of what you did.
- 20:07Speaker 5: It's the fact that I'm like seeing it and being
- 20:10Speaker 5: like this is insane, Like I don't know how to
- 20:13Speaker 5: make sense of this in this moment. I've never seen
- 20:15Speaker 5: anything like this. I've never seen anything open up to
- 20:17Speaker 5: be able to push out a human and like you
- 20:21Speaker 5: still be alive, Like that's that's crazy.
- 20:25Speaker 3: Yeah, I agree.
- 20:26Speaker 6: One of the things that we've been talking about a
- 20:28Speaker 6: lot recently, like in the past two days, is like
- 20:31Speaker 6: we've kind of been getting not like sad, but like
- 20:34Speaker 6: a little sad about our life changing, just like the
- 20:37Speaker 6: two of us, because we like love our evenings together
- 20:42Speaker 6: and like, you know, the freedom, and we're very realistic
- 20:46Speaker 6: that's going to change. But do you guys have any
- 20:49Speaker 6: like tips for like y'all as a couple.
- 20:54Speaker 2: So I think what you guys will do with one
- 21:00Speaker 2: you can you can dictate your schedule. I mean, it's
- 21:03Speaker 2: just more it's it's weird to your entire life and
- 21:09Speaker 2: schedule revolves around your kid now. But that's not a
- 21:13Speaker 2: bad thing, you know, so like if but you can
- 21:16Speaker 2: also change that schedule. Like you guys love your evenings together, right,
- 21:20Speaker 2: so I mean obviously not in the first couple of
- 21:23Speaker 2: months because you're just sleeping when you can, but like
- 21:25Speaker 2: once you know, she starts getting into a rhythm, like
- 21:28Speaker 2: you can put her down at seven or eight. If
- 21:30Speaker 2: you guys like, well, we want to have our night
- 21:32Speaker 2: time together and then we'll wake up early in the morning.
- 21:34Speaker 4: We can you know, take care of her.
- 21:36Speaker 3: Let me interject here. What they have going for them
- 21:39Speaker 3: that we don't is they're on the same sleep schedule,
- 21:42Speaker 3: like they like to both wake up at six am.
- 21:45Speaker 3: And and Jared and I that's our biggest problem is
- 21:49Speaker 3: that he is a morning person and he even likes
- 21:51Speaker 3: to have his mornings to himself, Like I would never
- 21:53Speaker 3: want to have quality time in the morning gross and
- 21:56Speaker 3: I like to stay like I ideally like to stay
- 21:59Speaker 3: up to like one am, and he will he's asleep
- 22:03Speaker 3: by eleven thirty max. But like definitely like out of
- 22:07Speaker 3: any sort of social range at ten thirty. So, like,
- 22:11Speaker 3: and our kids go to bed late, so they're more
- 22:13Speaker 3: on my schedule.
- 22:14Speaker 2: Dawson doesn't go to Dawson does not go to bed.
- 22:16Speaker 2: We don't shut the door till probably ten o'clock.
- 22:19Speaker 3: I know that's crazy. I know that's so crazy. But
- 22:22Speaker 3: he sleeps till nine thirty, which is ideally when I
- 22:25Speaker 3: like to sleep till. And then we're having issues because
- 22:30Speaker 3: Hayden is a wacko and he like will not sleep.
- 22:33Speaker 3: He like will fall asleep at eleven and then he
- 22:37Speaker 3: wakes up at seven thirty. So it's just like we're
- 22:40Speaker 3: just having a really hard time right now. But you
- 22:42Speaker 3: guys do have the benefit of being on each other's
- 22:45Speaker 3: sleep cycle and then also getting your kid on that.
- 22:49Speaker 2: My biggest advice would be just also try to always
- 22:52Speaker 2: remember this is temporary. It's all temporary, you know, like
- 22:56Speaker 2: when you get home and and and she's not sleeping,
- 22:59Speaker 2: I'll never forget the first moment we brought Hayden back
- 23:01Speaker 2: home and you know, with our second kids, so we're
- 23:04Speaker 2: diving back into this year.
- 23:05Speaker 3: It was like put them back in the belly.
- 23:07Speaker 4: I was like, I did not say that, but it was.
- 23:09Speaker 2: He was up from eleven o'clock at night till six
- 23:13Speaker 2: in the morning. He was just up and neither one
- 23:16Speaker 2: of us got a wink of sleep, and it was like,
- 23:18Speaker 2: I cannot believe we're doing this again. And it was
- 23:21Speaker 2: just like that moment, You're like, oh my god, what
- 23:23Speaker 2: did we do? But then you know, a few days
- 23:26Speaker 2: go by, and then he starts sleeping two hours and
- 23:28Speaker 2: so on and so forth, and then now he's not
- 23:29Speaker 2: sleeping that well, but we still can figure out a
- 23:31Speaker 2: schedule where we get enough sleep where we can function
- 23:33Speaker 2: throughout the day.
- 23:34Speaker 3: And then I would look at doss have a time
- 23:36Speaker 3: for quality time except for baby.
- 23:38Speaker 4: I mean, but that's the biggest you know, but we did.
- 23:41Speaker 3: We're doing three dates this week, but you guys are
- 23:43Speaker 3: fine with one kid group dates and one one on one.
- 23:46Speaker 2: I went, I wasn't stressed about that. I would just
- 23:48Speaker 2: try to always remember, like whatever's happening right now is temporary,
- 23:51Speaker 2: so yes, like there might be a a for the
- 23:54Speaker 2: next few months where it's just you guys are adjusting
- 23:56Speaker 2: to the schedule and trying to figure out, Okay, well
- 23:59Speaker 2: you know, if if she's not if she's not sleeping
- 24:01Speaker 2: till like I'll take the first one, you take the
- 24:03Speaker 2: second one. So you guys might like eight o'clock comes
- 24:06Speaker 2: and you want to go to bed, so you don't
- 24:07Speaker 2: have your nights together, but like they'll come back, you know,
- 24:10Speaker 2: and then hopefully we're all on this earth for a
- 24:14Speaker 2: very long time and then you guys will have many, many,
- 24:16Speaker 2: many many more nights together, and then you'll never have
- 24:19Speaker 2: those nights. Like I look at Dawson at times, and
- 24:23Speaker 2: especially with Hayden the age he is, and then I'll
- 24:25Speaker 2: look at pictures of when Dawson was that age, and
- 24:28Speaker 2: as hard as it was, I would go back to
- 24:30Speaker 2: it in an instant because it's just you know, it's Dawson.
- 24:33Speaker 3: At that age, but you're enjoying him so much more
- 24:36Speaker 3: at this age.
- 24:37Speaker 2: Yeah, but now, like, well, it's the it's it's the
- 24:42Speaker 2: fear of just the kid getting older.
- 24:44Speaker 4: Yeah, it's the fear of him getting older.
- 24:45Speaker 2: I'm like, damn, I wish he was younger, so I
- 24:47Speaker 2: could experience this again because it sucks.
- 24:51Speaker 5: Well, and I think, I think there's some really good
- 24:54Speaker 5: because we had this conversation last night. Jess and I
- 24:56Speaker 5: have such a good time together, Like our evenings when Waylan,
- 25:01Speaker 5: our dog, tells us, Hey, it's time for bed at
- 25:02Speaker 5: seven o'clock and we all go upstairs and we shower
- 25:05Speaker 5: and get ready for bed, and we're all laying there
- 25:07Speaker 5: and cuddling. It's like magical to us. We love those moments,
- 25:12Speaker 5: and we have loved those moments, and I think the soul,
- 25:16Speaker 5: like the peace in this is two things. One is
- 25:18Speaker 5: taken from what Jared is saying, is like, don't wish
- 25:21Speaker 5: these times away, because at some point you'll wish you
- 25:23Speaker 5: had them back. And so I think a mentality for
- 25:26Speaker 5: us is like, yes, even if it seems hard, even
- 25:28Speaker 5: if it seems like the worst case scenario, like enjoy
- 25:31Speaker 5: the moments we have. And the second is I personally
- 25:35Speaker 5: there might be some out there. This is not a
- 25:38Speaker 5: blanket statement, but when we talked last night, like, I
- 25:41Speaker 5: don't know any parents of children in our life who's like, goodness, gracious,
- 25:47Speaker 5: life is worse with a kid, like life is worse,
- 25:50Speaker 5: Like life might be harder, but life is worse. This sucks.
- 25:53Speaker 5: This is the worst thing ever. I wish I never
- 25:56Speaker 5: would have done it. I don't know parents like that.
- 25:58Speaker 5: And so there has to be some magic in this
- 26:01Speaker 5: moment that we're about to enter into that will bring
- 26:05Speaker 5: a whole new chapter of enjoyment and like peace to us.
- 26:10Speaker 4: It's just the love, like you'll never love anything, like
- 26:13Speaker 4: you love your kid.
- 26:13Speaker 3: Like we don't put Dawson in bed till nine thirty
- 26:15Speaker 3: because like we're having fun with him. We don't want
- 26:18Speaker 3: him to go to bed.
- 26:20Speaker 2: Yeah, it's just like you guys, I know you love
- 26:23Speaker 2: your dog, but like I'll give you an instant. So
- 26:26Speaker 2: yesterday Lois like jumped on Dawson. He was on the couch.
- 26:31Speaker 4: And I was like humping him. Yeah, she like sometimes
- 26:33Speaker 4: tries to hump them.
- 26:34Speaker 2: And then so like Dawson kind of got away and
- 26:37Speaker 2: we were like Lois Lois and then Dawson walked away,
- 26:41Speaker 2: and then I was like Dawson okay, and he like
- 26:43Speaker 2: he does this thing where he hides it because he's like, yeah,
- 26:46Speaker 2: I'm okay, but he he's like holding back tears and
- 26:50Speaker 2: seeing Dawson hold back tears and trying to like fake
- 26:54Speaker 2: smile to me. In that moment, I could have kicked
- 26:58Speaker 2: Lows out of the house. I could have I've been like, Lois,
- 27:01Speaker 2: I never want to see you again. I I because
- 27:04Speaker 2: it's just like it's not I love Lois, but it's
- 27:06Speaker 2: just the way that I feel towards Dawson. The way
- 27:09Speaker 2: that you feel towards your daughter is that if anything
- 27:13Speaker 2: like it's just.
- 27:16Speaker 4: It's just that you're about to cry. No, it's not
- 27:18Speaker 4: even cry.
- 27:19Speaker 2: I'm about to get angry thinking about like anybody trying
- 27:21Speaker 2: to mess with Dawson or like hurt Dawson. I would
- 27:26Speaker 2: spend the rest of my life in jail and enjoy
- 27:29Speaker 2: every minute of it if I was able to get
- 27:31Speaker 2: revenge against that person.
- 27:32Speaker 3: Yeah, so he feels this way towards Hayden too, But
- 27:35Speaker 3: it's just like so much different when you know someone
- 27:38Speaker 3: so they have to develop personality and they speak to
- 27:41Speaker 3: you and they say like I loved you every night
- 27:43Speaker 3: and they hold your face and tell you sweet things.
- 27:45Speaker 3: That's crazy.
- 27:46Speaker 2: That's why everybody's life gets better because it's just like
- 27:48Speaker 2: you love something so much, you're like, well, I never
- 27:52Speaker 2: not want to feel this.
- 27:53Speaker 4: This is it's just like I love it. I love
- 27:57Speaker 4: this thing.
- 27:58Speaker 3: Do you know what he did to me the other day?
- 28:00Speaker 3: Jess would literally die when this day comes. So I'm
- 28:03Speaker 3: putting him to bed and like I give him like
- 28:05Speaker 3: these affirmations before he goes to sleep, and then he
- 28:08Speaker 3: touches my face with both hands and he goes, thank you, Mama,
- 28:11Speaker 3: and I go thank you for what he goes for
- 28:15Speaker 3: being beautiful.
- 28:16Speaker 7: Oh it's crazy, see, but that it's different when a
- 28:22Speaker 7: boy says yeah, like a little girl, she's gonna say
- 28:26Speaker 7: something like how handsome her daddy is, and that's what's
- 28:29Speaker 7: gonna crush Ben.
- 28:31Speaker 6: Like she's one day she's going to tell Ben that
- 28:33Speaker 6: he like looks like a prince from a movie, and
- 28:35Speaker 6: like that will crush him.
- 28:36Speaker 3: Arnie says that Jared looks like Prince Eric, so whenever
- 28:40Speaker 3: she sees a Frince Eric, she goes, look uncle Jared.
- 28:44Speaker 4: Yeah that's why Ben.
- 28:44Speaker 2: I think you're your I mean, you're always going to
- 28:48Speaker 2: be a great father, But I think the love like
- 28:51Speaker 2: I always love Dawson, but I think you'll be obsessed
- 28:53Speaker 2: with your daughter much more quickly than I was obsessed
- 28:56Speaker 2: with Dawson, even though I always loved him and was
- 28:58Speaker 2: always obsessed with him.
- 28:59Speaker 4: Just because and and Hayden. Of course, well, we're talking
- 29:03Speaker 4: about there first. That's why I saw.
- 29:04Speaker 2: I'm just relating it to our first. Once they have
- 29:06Speaker 2: a second, we'll talk about hated. But but yeah, because
- 29:11Speaker 2: it's just your little girl, like it's gonna be, it's different.
- 29:13Speaker 2: I do feel like there is a difference between having
- 29:16Speaker 2: a son and a daughter because you're just it's gonna be.
- 29:18Speaker 4: It's gonna be your little girl. That's and there's.
- 29:21Speaker 2: I remember, Actually, I'll tell you a buddy of mine
- 29:24Speaker 2: who has is a little bit older and he has
- 29:25Speaker 2: two grown kids, and I was like, what's the difference
- 29:28Speaker 2: between having a boy and a girl because he has
- 29:29Speaker 2: one of each? And I said the best way he said,
- 29:31Speaker 2: the best way I can describe it is I always
- 29:35Speaker 2: expect more from my son and my daughter can do
- 29:38Speaker 2: no wrong.
- 29:39Speaker 4: And I was like, all.
- 29:40Speaker 2: Right, well that's a nice summarization right there.
- 29:44Speaker 3: And apparently everybody wants a girl because his dad the
- 29:47Speaker 3: other day goes, they should really try for a third,
- 29:50Speaker 3: they really need a girl. And then he's like, it's
- 29:53Speaker 3: just different having a girl because he's thinking about how
- 29:55Speaker 3: he thinks towards Nora, his granddaughter and his daughter Shannon,
- 29:59Speaker 3: who we know is the favorite.
- 30:01Speaker 2: Yeah, but that's fine, it's it's she should be the favorite.
- 30:04Speaker 2: She's it's the girl. I like that as well.
- 30:06Speaker 3: We'll never know this and that's okay.
- 30:09Speaker 2: I'm my dad's best friend, but that's his little girl.
- 30:12Speaker 2: You know, she always will be.
- 30:13Speaker 6: I can't wait to see what she looks like.
- 30:15Speaker 3: Either.
- 30:15Speaker 6: That's the other thing that I'm like so pumped. I
- 30:18Speaker 6: would not wait to see what she looks like. She's
- 30:22Speaker 6: gonna have so much dark black hair.
- 30:25Speaker 3: She can't go wrong, though, you can make every future.
- 30:28Speaker 4: You're gonna have a beautiful child.
- 30:30Speaker 3: Let's just you know, it can't go wrong.
- 30:34Speaker 4: We can mess this thing.
- 30:35Speaker 3: Yeah, it would be really bad.
- 30:38Speaker 2: But also when the kid first comes out, like just
- 30:40Speaker 2: get ready, like he will his head or her head
- 30:44Speaker 2: will will be a conehead. Like it's just weird, like,
- 30:47Speaker 2: oh my god, you look a little bit like an alien.
- 30:49Speaker 2: But then the head goes down very quickly.
- 30:52Speaker 5: Hey, in closing here, because we do have to go,
- 30:56Speaker 5: I have this theory that I'll share publicly. I don't
- 30:59Speaker 5: think newborns are that cute, so I don't have this
- 31:02Speaker 5: hair expectation. In fact, we were at the hospital other
- 31:05Speaker 5: day and they have a wall of newborns and I said,
- 31:07Speaker 5: just pick out two that you think are cute on
- 31:08Speaker 5: this wall of two hundred. It was hard. It's very
- 31:11Speaker 5: difficult to do. There are a few that you go, yeah,
- 31:14Speaker 5: I get it. Most Hey, I don't have this expectation
- 31:18Speaker 5: that this little girl's going to come out being beautiful.
- 31:21Speaker 5: I actually expect her to have like a bald head
- 31:23Speaker 5: with like hair growing out the side.
- 31:25Speaker 3: He's going to have hair.
- 31:26Speaker 5: Yeah, well, we kind of know she does alter sounds.
- 31:29Speaker 5: It showed it and.
- 31:30Speaker 4: She was like, you have heartburn. Huh.
- 31:33Speaker 6: The only thing we don't know is if it's a
- 31:34Speaker 6: full head of hair or a mullet.
- 31:36Speaker 4: Yeah, that's the question. That's the exciting part for me.
- 31:40Speaker 3: A charge Costanza.
- 31:41Speaker 5: Yeah, that's my hope.
- 31:45Speaker 4: Guys, it's been great.
- 31:46Speaker 5: We're forty eight hours away from walking into this, so thanks.
- 31:49Speaker 3: For sending us all the videos and pictures and stuff.
- 31:52Speaker 3: I just like, love live.
- 31:53Speaker 2: It's gonna be so much fun when your parents meet her, Like,
- 31:56Speaker 2: that's such a cool part too, like seeing the site
- 32:00Speaker 2: it that they have and because you love them so much,
- 32:03Speaker 2: they're your parents and now they're the grandparents. And they're
- 32:05Speaker 2: meeting the kid, and it's like everybody comes over and
- 32:08Speaker 2: wants to hold the baby.
- 32:09Speaker 4: That's a lot of fun.
- 32:10Speaker 3: Or you could be like your parents, be like my
- 32:11Speaker 3: dad and my dad doesn't touch the baby until three months.
- 32:14Speaker 3: He's like super scared baby doctor.
- 32:17Speaker 5: Our parents we started this with at the beginning, they
- 32:21Speaker 5: they're really I mean, they're more than excited. I mean
- 32:23Speaker 5: Jess's dad, within his speech at our wedding said be
- 32:26Speaker 5: fruitful and multiply like this is really like her mom
- 32:31Speaker 5: has been so helpful and supportive of Jess, giving her
- 32:34Speaker 5: guidance and wisdom through this whole thing. Her dad has
- 32:39Speaker 5: been emotional when it comes to him thinking about his
- 32:41Speaker 5: baby girl having a child. That's been emotional. And my parents,
- 32:46Speaker 5: which I think the parents of the son or the husband,
- 32:52Speaker 5: have a really different, like kind of like role because
- 32:56Speaker 5: like they don't have that like emotional tie to see
- 32:59Speaker 5: just grow up and now to become a mother, but
- 33:01Speaker 5: they love just so much. But they've always wanted to
- 33:03Speaker 5: be grandparents. And so my mom has been like really
- 33:06Speaker 5: excited to dive into this and be the best Mimi
- 33:10Speaker 5: she can be.
- 33:11Speaker 4: My dad literally is a.
- 33:14Speaker 6: Wreck, like like like imagine the been holding a baby doll.
- 33:19Speaker 5: Yeah, cries like he he cries when he talks about
- 33:23Speaker 5: Jessica being pregnant, Like he cries looking at ultrasound pictures.
- 33:28Speaker 5: He cries thinking about like coming to visit. He is
- 33:32Speaker 5: a wreck right now. So well, the cool part is
- 33:37Speaker 5: we're walking into four parents, all uniquely experiencing something very
- 33:41Speaker 5: different but like thrilled. And I know as soon as
- 33:46Speaker 5: she's passed off to them in the hospital, as soon
- 33:48Speaker 5: as she meets them, like it is going to be
- 33:51Speaker 5: a blubberfest.
- 33:53Speaker 4: For all of us.
- 33:53Speaker 5: I think we're all just going to be like, this
- 33:55Speaker 5: is wild and I can't wait for that. Those those
- 33:58Speaker 5: are such special moments that we're blessed to experience, and
- 34:03Speaker 5: I'm really thankful that that's what we're walking into.
- 34:16Speaker 3: Ben, do you want to do a few of these?
- 34:18Speaker 3: Would you rather as like superlatives or do you think
- 34:20Speaker 3: we have tough time?
- 34:21Speaker 4: Yeah, let's do it, Okay, all right?
- 34:24Speaker 3: Our producers gave us a few superlatives, basically to name
- 34:29Speaker 3: the parent you know, to associate to each parent who
- 34:33Speaker 3: is most likely to do the wake up at two am,
- 34:36Speaker 3: and just make just to make sure the baby's breathing.
- 34:39Speaker 4: Ben, no question.
- 34:41Speaker 6: He asked to get the little like sock that monitors
- 34:44Speaker 6: her heart rate, so the outlet.
- 34:46Speaker 3: We use it on a nightly basis.
- 34:47Speaker 6: Yeah, okay, yeah, we just ordered one.
- 34:50Speaker 3: It's great. Alert be prepared, it's a there's a lot
- 34:55Speaker 3: of false alarms, so don't freak out. We'll talk about
- 34:59Speaker 3: it offline. But yeah, we are big. We are big
- 35:01Speaker 3: fans of the outlet. And that's funny because I always
- 35:05Speaker 3: make fun of Jared how he like never gives a
- 35:08Speaker 3: second thought to the kid breathing, Like he always just
- 35:10Speaker 3: assumes they're breathing, and I am constantly assuming they're not.
- 35:13Speaker 3: Even Dawson. I watch his breathing on the monitor. He's three.
- 35:17Speaker 4: Yeah, it's me who.
- 35:20Speaker 3: Is going to insist on baby proofing the entire house
- 35:23Speaker 3: once she can start like crawling and walking.
- 35:26Speaker 6: Ben, he already put up baby gates and she's a potatoes.
- 35:32Speaker 4: Yes I did.
- 35:33Speaker 2: He drilled them into the wall course for you guys
- 35:36Speaker 2: while you're holding the baby.
- 35:38Speaker 4: Yes, yes, it's great.
- 35:40Speaker 2: Who is most likely to stay calm when the baby
- 35:43Speaker 2: is throwing a tantrum?
- 35:45Speaker 5: It's a good one. I feel like we both, I think,
- 35:49Speaker 5: will stay very calm. I don't think tantrums will like
- 35:52Speaker 5: will frustrate us. I think crying babies right now, I
- 35:57Speaker 5: mean Whalen will be the one that doesn't like that,
- 35:59Speaker 5: but he's been really good with baby training. We've played
- 36:01Speaker 5: baby crying and he just kind of like is curious,
- 36:03Speaker 5: like cox his head, like what in the world. I
- 36:05Speaker 5: don't love baby crying, so like I'll have to get
- 36:08Speaker 5: used to it, I know, become something I would do,
- 36:10Speaker 5: but like it kind of like like shakes me a
- 36:14Speaker 5: little bit.
- 36:15Speaker 6: I think Ben will want it to stop a lot faster,
- 36:18Speaker 6: and if we're in a public place, I'll want to
- 36:20Speaker 6: like remove her from the situation. Yeah, but I don't
- 36:23Speaker 6: think either of us like it's not our personality like
- 36:25Speaker 6: freak out.
- 36:27Speaker 3: Guess who's better with them? Between us, I.
- 36:31Speaker 4: Would say I think Ashley.
- 36:33Speaker 5: When they cry, you don't get as for like flustered
- 36:36Speaker 5: as Jared.
- 36:36Speaker 3: This is true.
- 36:38Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, Well.
- 36:42Speaker 2: It's because it's just the it's the lack of being
- 36:45Speaker 2: able to solve the issue. So that's what I think
- 36:48Speaker 2: you'll encounter with frustration, Ben, is you know, when she's
- 36:52Speaker 2: crying and you're holding her and she just doesn't stop crying,
- 36:56Speaker 2: even she's not taking food or she just you know,
- 36:58Speaker 2: that's the problem because it's just like it's piercing, you know,
- 37:02Speaker 2: and it's right there, and I can't I can't figure
- 37:05Speaker 2: out how to solve it.
- 37:06Speaker 4: Sometimes I think it's the.
- 37:07Speaker 3: Man thing with the solving, and all I keep thinking
- 37:09Speaker 3: of is this will be over, it will end, yeah.
- 37:14Speaker 2: Or there are moments off where you're like I just
- 37:16Speaker 2: need to, like I need to breathe.
- 37:18Speaker 5: Luckily, I'm taking like usually I spend most of my
- 37:21Speaker 5: days talking and meetings are like however, and I get
- 37:25Speaker 5: really socially exhausted from like noise by the end of
- 37:30Speaker 5: the day, Like I really just love to like kind
- 37:32Speaker 5: of check out, and I'm taking the next like month
- 37:35Speaker 5: and a half kind of off of those meetings, and
- 37:37Speaker 5: I pull myself away because I do get like noise
- 37:41Speaker 5: exhaustion very easily, and so I need if if if
- 37:46Speaker 5: I plan it right, I'll be able to handle it better.
- 37:49Speaker 4: That would be my answer.
- 37:50Speaker 3: With the second child, that's when the over stimulation really hits.
- 37:55Speaker 3: Like we just sit in the we're like at the
- 37:58Speaker 3: computer and.
- 37:59Speaker 2: Really well, Hayden's crying and then Dawson's like, Mama, Mama,
- 38:03Speaker 2: Dad doesn't got to fix Hayden, and then he starts
- 38:06Speaker 2: crying and then he's like dragging our arm like no,
- 38:08Speaker 2: no, no no. Then he's like why baby crying, and it's
- 38:11Speaker 2: like I'm just like He's like.
- 38:14Speaker 3: I made you dinner, I mean your dinner like with
- 38:17Speaker 3: his play food, and I'm like, excuse me, I'm so sweet.
- 38:21Speaker 2: And he's like hitting his toys as he's screaming our
- 38:23Speaker 2: name as Hayden is crying, so like the toys playing,
- 38:25Speaker 2: and then Dawson.
- 38:27Speaker 3: The TV's in the background. Then Lois is barking at
- 38:29Speaker 3: the ups guy cram Sorry, but really this isn't this
- 38:36Speaker 3: is really like a second child?
- 38:38Speaker 4: Sounds fun?
- 38:38Speaker 3: Yeah? Okay, my last question is fun one. Who is
- 38:43Speaker 3: the first one that's going to like be on a drive,
- 38:46Speaker 3: even if it's just like an errand quick one to
- 38:48Speaker 3: the grocery store, but then realize that you don't have
- 38:50Speaker 3: the diaper bag.
- 38:52Speaker 5: You you probably Yeah, I was gonna say me just
- 38:56Speaker 5: because right now I have very little familiarity with that. However,
- 39:00Speaker 5: in life, over time, I am more to be over prepared,
- 39:06Speaker 5: and Jess is more of like a let's just swing
- 39:10Speaker 5: it and see how it goes kind of person.
- 39:12Speaker 6: Yeah, like I'll leave Ben will leave the diaper bag
- 39:15Speaker 6: at home for the grocery store, and I'll leave it
- 39:16Speaker 6: at home for like the four day trip.
- 39:18Speaker 5: Yeah, that's probably a better way to say it. Yes,
- 39:23Speaker 5: that that would probably be more accurate. I will say, though,
- 39:26Speaker 5: I've never seen like just be as like prepared. It's
- 39:32Speaker 5: not like she's like an unprepared human in life, but
- 39:35Speaker 5: like she's on top of all this. Like if you
- 39:37Speaker 5: look at our house right now, like everything's set up,
- 39:39Speaker 5: everything's clean, everything's like organized, like everything is like ready
- 39:44Speaker 5: to go, and she knows how to use it all.
- 39:47Speaker 5: And that would probably be the biggest difference. Is I
- 39:49Speaker 5: know she's gonna I know she already loves this girl
- 39:52Speaker 5: because just knowing how to like use like items is
- 39:56Speaker 5: like a rarity.
- 39:57Speaker 3: I don't know how to use our TV. So I'm
- 40:02Speaker 3: always the one that's like I got this, I got this,
- 40:04Speaker 3: I got this. I know what we need, but I
- 40:06Speaker 3: need you to set it up. You do the version
- 40:09Speaker 3: of it. Okay, Wait, my last last question, just because
- 40:12Speaker 3: you brought up these products, is there any product that
- 40:15Speaker 3: you have debated or bought already that you're like not
- 40:18Speaker 3: sure that it's going to be worth it or you're
- 40:20Speaker 3: not sure if you're actually should buy it.
- 40:23Speaker 6: One of the things that I haven't bought yet that
- 40:25Speaker 6: I keep thinking I need to is that like half
- 40:27Speaker 6: moon pillow, like the breastfeeding pillow.
- 40:30Speaker 3: Oh so I didn't breastfeed, so I don't know.
- 40:32Speaker 6: Okay, I'm planning on breastfeeding. Is like the goal. I
- 40:36Speaker 6: have a lactation consultant in everything, So that's one of
- 40:39Speaker 6: the things that I don't have that I wonder if.
- 40:40Speaker 3: I'm gonna need.
- 40:41Speaker 6: And then we have the baby Breza, which is one
- 40:43Speaker 6: of the things that I don't know that we have
- 40:45Speaker 6: that I don't know if we're gonna need.
- 40:48Speaker 4: Get two of them.
- 40:51Speaker 3: We switch ours back. Well, we have a first floor bedroom,
- 40:55Speaker 3: our veterans on the first floor, so like we carry
- 40:58Speaker 3: it from the kitchen to the bedroom every night. But
- 41:01Speaker 3: you can like get too if you have the two floors.
- 41:04Speaker 6: Can you heat up breast milk in it?
- 41:07Speaker 3: No, but just our baby they're warmers out there. Oh yeah,
- 41:12Speaker 3: I think the Breza has a warmer say they they
- 41:17Speaker 3: made me redo an ad once because I didn't say properly.
- 41:20Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean we formula fed. So that was a
- 41:22Speaker 4: very that was very important.
- 41:25Speaker 3: I know it sounds stupid because you're like, oh, it's
- 41:27Speaker 3: not hard to make a bottle, and we're like, oh,
- 41:29Speaker 3: you know, you just put like three scoops and some
- 41:32Speaker 3: water and you shake it up. It's not a big deal.
- 41:33Speaker 4: When it's three in the morning, it's hard to make
- 41:36Speaker 4: a bottle, you know what I mean.
- 41:38Speaker 3: And Hayden has really preferred warm bottles over cold, and
- 41:42Speaker 3: Dawson didn't care about the temperature.
- 41:44Speaker 4: Has been amazing there, Gretza.
- 41:47Speaker 3: And with that, we wish you all the good luck.
- 41:51Speaker 3: And we're so excited because the next time we're gonna
- 41:54Speaker 3: see you, guys, you're gonna be parents. And I think
- 41:56Speaker 3: that when you become parents, you really want your friends
- 41:58Speaker 3: to become parents. Yeah, so commiserate, excited to take family
- 42:04Speaker 3: trips and such in the future, keep.
- 42:07Speaker 4: Those boys away.
- 42:09Speaker 3: Who wants Who are we going to set her up with?
- 42:12Speaker 4: Well, nobody, not a thing.
- 42:15Speaker 3: I don't know. Three years age gap with Dawson is
- 42:18Speaker 3: a perfect their age gap seven years.
- 42:21Speaker 5: Like an outlet for this, Like she's it's like not
- 42:24Speaker 5: a thing.
- 42:26Speaker 3: It's not you're not allowed. No, no, Nobody used to
- 42:30Speaker 3: tell me.
- 42:30Speaker 6: That I couldn't date till I was married, and I
- 42:32Speaker 6: think that's going to be Ben's Yeah.
- 42:36Speaker 4: Yeah, there's no question in my mind. It's so much.
- 42:40Speaker 3: More fun to pair off guys in the situation like
- 42:42Speaker 3: we're not going server, like who wants to date our sons?
- 42:49Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 42:51Speaker 4: I agree.
- 42:54Speaker 3: Okay, Bachelor Nation has some girls to you know, we
- 42:58Speaker 3: could have. He wants Emmy so that like she'd be
- 43:03Speaker 3: cougaring Dawson.
- 43:05Speaker 2: I think Emmy just because she was like the first
- 43:07Speaker 2: one in our circle, you know, Tanner and Jade was
- 43:09Speaker 2: the first one, so.
- 43:10Speaker 3: They got real flirty too when they're jumping on a
- 43:12Speaker 3: trampoline last year for those trampolines by guys.
