Speaker 1: to Him as we open our Bibles and saying, Lord,

Speaker 1: what do you have to say to me personally today?

Speaker 1: God is ready to speak to you in your heart

Speaker 1: on the spiritual level if you are ready to respond

Speaker 1: to what He says to you, no matter what it is.

Speaker 1: We're looking this week at the great theme of God's grace.

Speaker 1: God's grace, His goodness to you when you don't deserve it.

Speaker 1: And we come today to Hebrews chapter 4, verses 14

Speaker 1: to 16. Listen to what it says.

Speaker 1: Since then we have a great high priest who has

Speaker 1: passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God.

Speaker 1: Let us hold fast our confession.

Speaker 1: For we do not have a high priest who cannot

Speaker 1: sympathise with our weaknesses.

Speaker 1: But one who has been tempted in all things as

Speaker 1: we are.

Speaker 1: Yet without sin.

Speaker 1: Let us therefore draw near with confidence to the throne

Speaker 1: of grace.

Speaker 1: That we may receive mercy and may find grace to

Speaker 1: help us in our time of need.

Speaker 1: God's grace in your life is not just the forgiveness

Speaker 1: of your sins and a way to go to heaven

Speaker 1: when you die. God's grace reaches into your everyday life,

Speaker 1: into the struggles you are going to face today as

Speaker 1: And notice what these verses say. They tell us that

Speaker 1: God's grace in your life flows from a deep experiential

Speaker 1: understanding that He has of the issues of our lives,

Speaker 1: because God became a man in the person of Jesus Christ.

Speaker 1: You know, if God had not become a man and

Speaker 1: lived life on this earth with all the painful realities

Speaker 1: of growing up.

Speaker 1: Experiencing rejection and temptation and loss and grief and joy

Speaker 1: and accomplishment and energy and tiredness and discouragement.

Speaker 1: You know, if God had avoided all of that.

Speaker 1: We would have a pretty hard time relating to him

Speaker 1: on just a personal level.

Speaker 1: Or rather we'd be like people in some religions to

Speaker 1: whom God is just a distant powerful being to be

Speaker 1: afraid of, just a God concerned about justice.

Speaker 1: But now, we have a God who has lived life

Speaker 1: in this messy world and understands what it's like.

Speaker 1: You know, if he hadn't, we would think of him

Speaker 1: as too exalted, too removed from the daily issues of life.

Speaker 1: But do you know what God is saying to you

Speaker 1: in this passage today?

Speaker 1: He's telling you that his grace in your life reaches

Speaker 1: into these everyday issues of your life.

Speaker 1: Because God understands life in this world, you can be

Speaker 1: confident as you come to Him in prayer today that

Speaker 1: He is ready to get involved in your life at

Speaker 1: this nitty gritty day to day level. Don't leave God

Speaker 1: just for Sunday, just for church, just for the weekend,

Speaker 1: just for your Bible study group.

Speaker 1: Bring God into all the issues of your day to day.

Speaker 1: You will find your life is totally different when you

Speaker 1: invite God to lead your life all through the day.
