- 0:46Speaker 4: Let's go.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Super excited Today we are talking about what we are thankful for.
- 0:51Speaker 1: You know, it's always fun talking about like gratitude.
- 0:59Speaker 2: At least I feel like.
- 1:06Speaker 1: I think we are just thankful that we got four people, because several of our co-workers are like oh, you can sit in.
- 1:06Speaker 1: Great, we got something else to do.
- 1:07Speaker 1: It's a lot of work, we're thankful for adaptability.
- 1:09Speaker 2: Yeah, there you go Totally.
- 1:10Speaker 2: But yes, thanksgiving is coming up.
- 1:14Speaker 2: We realized as the holidays come in that we were a little short on story-scaling episodes and was like hey, what can we talk about?
- 1:21Speaker 2: What are we thankful for?
- 1:22Speaker 2: Yes, we can turn that real quick and Zoom.
- 1:27Speaker 2: It's like hey, what can we talk about?
- 1:28Speaker 2: What are we thankful for?
- 1:29Speaker 2: Yes, we can turn that real quick and by the time you guys see this, it'll be right at Thanksgiving.
- 1:31Speaker 1: And what are we thankful for guys.
- 1:32Speaker 1: It's a good question.
- 1:33Speaker 4: So a lot comes to mind.
- 1:34Speaker 4: I mean I'll start with right, you guys around the table, the rest of the team that's, you know, in their offices knocking stuff out today.
- 1:41Speaker 4: It's a lot of work to get done, especially as we try and shift stuff around for the holidays to make sure we still deliver on everything that we're promising and trying to get ready to spend some time with our families.
- 1:50Speaker 4: Yeah, man.
- 1:52Speaker 1: I'm thankful for family, for sure.
- 1:55Speaker 1: This job, 100%.
- 1:58Speaker 1: You guys, I was thinking about that today.
- 1:59Speaker 1: We got a really cool culture here.
- 2:00Speaker 1: Some people hate work and they hate the people that they work with, but I mean I really enjoy what we do and who we do it with, and so that's pretty awesome.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Thankful for, did I say, family?
- 2:15Speaker 1: Yeah, forced start of family Most important right, yeah, yeah, definitely thankful for family.
- 2:20Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 2:22Speaker 1: I think I get to enjoy a lot of freedoms in my life.
- 2:24Speaker 1: I'm thankful for the ability to be able to get up and move and, you know, travel um, you know, being somewhat in control of my time.
- 2:32Speaker 3: So thankful for my freedom for sure true, yeah, I mean I echo everything you guys have been saying.
- 2:40Speaker 3: You know bang about, um, well, just to put it in context, today's Monday, but we had our team lunch just before this podcast and we talked about how we you know, the culture we built here is something we're all proud of and we all want to be a part of, and I think we're all kind of thankful for that.
- 2:58Speaker 3: You know, and you know to kind of echo with what you're saying about freedom and flexibility, like I'm thankful for being healthy.
- 3:03Speaker 3: You know to kind of echo with what you're saying about freedom and flexibility, like I'm thankful for being healthy.
- 3:07Speaker 3: You know things, things happen and you just never know, like you always gotta, never take anything for granted and just always appreciate the little things in life.
- 3:18Speaker 3: You know it's like life is moving fast, like I, we were just I'm thinking about this just now on the spot but like we opened this studio in February of 24 and it's almost the end of 2024.
- 3:32Speaker 3: Right, so things are moving fast, we're scaling, we're growing.
- 3:35Speaker 3: So just I think one thing that's really easy to get overlooked is just taking like time for yourself.
- 3:44Speaker 3: You know, like making sure you're you're good, you know, so just be thankful for the opportunity to be able to do that.
- 3:50Speaker 2: That's for real.
- 3:51Speaker 2: They talk about work-life balance, but life-life balance yeah right Work-life integration.
- 3:59Speaker 3: Eric would be proud of that.
- 4:02Speaker 2: Something you guys mentioned was flexibility and, having had to be gone for a significant amount of time recently the concert will be built here from a what's basically an outsider's perspective we managed to pull off basically everything we wanted to do, in spite of having one of us hundreds of miles away working ridiculous hours, and it, it worked it.
- 4:22Speaker 2: You know it's probably not ideal.
- 4:25Speaker 2: You know, Eric, I'm not asking to work from hundreds of miles away every day.
- 4:29Speaker 2: I've been here forever Yet I am but I'm thankful for the support you guys gave me personally.
- 4:37Speaker 2: Well, I dealt with some family things and we kept everything going, everything.
- 4:43Speaker 2: I felt in the loop for the most part when I got back.
- 4:46Speaker 2: I'll throw Eric under the bus a little bit, aside for some of the ideas he had, but I'm just thankful that we were able to pull that off and keep everything going as well as we were.
- 4:56Speaker 2: That was a big plus.
- 4:58Speaker 2: Yeah, man.
- 4:59Speaker 4: Yeah, absolutely yeah, being able to the flexibility to do that, the team continuing to work together.
- 5:03Speaker 4: You know doing what you could while you were out.
- 5:05Speaker 4: So, yeah, a lot of things come together.
- 5:11Speaker 2: But at the end of the day, we're still got.
- 5:12Speaker 2: You know, we have to take care of what we have to take care of.
- 5:13Speaker 2: Yeah, we've said quite a few things about the team.
- 5:14Speaker 2: To think about this way.
- 5:15Speaker 2: Last Thanksgiving, if you'd been sitting in this room, nate, you would have been with the former sales guy and Parker, because the rest of us weren't here.
- 5:22Speaker 2: Three, three of us, but everybody else who bailed on us.
- 5:26Speaker 2: Today, none of us worked here.
- 5:28Speaker 2: You were a team of three at that point, and that's just a year ago.
- 5:32Speaker 3: Yeah, that's crazy.
- 5:33Speaker 3: I only went back to February.
- 5:34Speaker 3: I mean, if you go back to a full year from now, we weren't even in this building and we had, like Dan said, three people and now we're up to.
- 5:42Speaker 3: Well, we just had our 10th full-time person start.
- 5:47Speaker 2: Yeah, coco's official to the world we can announce that yeah, that's crazy.
- 5:51Speaker 4: Yeah, that's some perspective for you right there, yeah.
- 5:54Speaker 4: And so, along with that, we couldn't have done it without our clients the old ones that stayed with us as we shifted from studios, and all the new ones that have joined us this year.
- 6:03Speaker 4: So we've got a wall full of plaques commemorating some of our customers.
- 6:07Speaker 4: It's really great to have them.
- 6:09Speaker 4: And, of course, we can't forget our viewers.
- 6:12Speaker 4: Yeah, man.
- 6:13Speaker 1: You guys out there, you feel me.
- 6:14Speaker 1: I was going to say clients, bob.
- 6:16Speaker 1: That's major because I mean to your point it's not.
- 6:18Speaker 1: People say all the time you know, I'm grateful for this, I'm grateful for that, but we legitimately would not be able to have a job had it not been for the people who trusted us and allowed us to be able to serve them.
- 6:36Speaker 1: And so special thank you to the clients.
- 6:36Speaker 1: I hear people say I watch y'all's podcast every time you release one and I'm like dang, sometimes I miss the episode.
- 6:39Speaker 1: So thank you guys, seriously from the bottoms of our heart for tapping in with us.
- 6:42Speaker 1: We really appreciate it, thankful for you.
- 6:45Speaker 2: So turkey or ham?
- 6:46Speaker 2: What were we eating?
- 6:48Speaker 1: Yes, Both yes, yeah, I'm gonna say turkey, I'm gonna.
- 6:54Speaker 2: I'm gonna put a caveat on it, as is the yankee who was like who turkey for thanksgiving.
- 6:58Speaker 2: Deep fried turkey.
- 6:59Speaker 2: Oh, I'm never baking one again yes, please, oh, I smoke ours.
- 7:04Speaker 4: Yeah, yep, brine it so it stays moist and then smoke it Mm-hmm, kind of get the best of both worlds there.
- 7:10Speaker 3: You know there's tradition, right?
- 7:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:14Speaker 3: Traditionally turkey on Thanksgiving, ham on Christmas.
- 7:17Speaker 3: But my family does things a little bit differently.
- 7:20Speaker 3: This year we're going to be doing like a sea bass on Thanksgiving and then maybe what we've done in the past, on Christmas.
- 7:26Speaker 3: I know it's getting a little ahead, but we've done like a crawfish boil Through the night, though have a little bit of seafood thrown in there.
- 7:31Speaker 3: I like that.
- 7:32Speaker 2: Yeah, it's not a little different, that's quite a bit different.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I like that though.
- 7:37Speaker 3: Crab legs yeah.
- 7:39Speaker 2: The other great part about Thanksgiving.
- 7:40Speaker 2: What am I thankful for?
- 7:41Speaker 2: It's the season being cranberry sauce.
- 7:52Speaker 1: Why can't we have more pushes to bring cranberry sauce to my plate across the year?
- 7:52Speaker 1: Do y'all have traditions, like every Thanksgiving this happens, or how does that work in y'all's family?
- 7:59Speaker 4: So I'd say the only real tradition we have is trying to jug between which families we're going to on which day.
- 8:04Speaker 4: That's the only hard part, especially is, you guys don't really quite have to experience this, but kids, kids who don't live around here they're getting married, having their own families.
- 8:15Speaker 4: What are they doing?
- 8:16Speaker 4: The family gets bigger they're all the more you get, the further separated they are.
- 8:20Speaker 4: How do you know?
- 8:21Speaker 4: I don't got experience that, bro.
- 8:22Speaker 4: I'm innate, that's fair.
- 8:26Speaker 3: Hey, I was about to say like, hey, I have.
- 8:28Speaker 3: I may not have kids myself, but my family sister, she's got kids there you go.
- 8:33Speaker 3: Do we go visit them?
- 8:34Speaker 3: Do they come visit us, even if it's just on a smaller scale?
- 8:37Speaker 3: I was about to say, like, dan, he's got a huge family.
- 8:40Speaker 3: Ben, I know you got a huge extended family.
- 8:42Speaker 3: Proud of it.
- 8:43Speaker 3: I think, no matter how, if you have kids or not, or how extended your family is, you know you kind of experience that on some level you know coordinating like where you go, yeah, seeing everybody, that's a big thing.
- 8:53Speaker 3: It's like you don't want anybody to miss out, yeah, man.
- 8:57Speaker 2: So Our family tradition is simple, but it's in two parts One, because we're all stuffed after dinner, we're watching football.
- 9:03Speaker 2: Somebody will fall asleep on the floor.
- 9:06Speaker 2: Yeah, somebody will fall asleep on the floor.
- 9:10Speaker 2: Yeah, because we're out of chairs and we will.
- 9:11Speaker 2: That's first part.
- 9:11Speaker 2: Somebody will fall asleep watching football.
- 9:12Speaker 2: And the second part is the kids will find them and they will jump on that person and that person will not stay asleep very long.
- 9:18Speaker 2: Dad, are we cousins?
- 9:20Speaker 1: he's not just like my family.
- 9:21Speaker 2: I have been both the perpetrator and the victim that's awesome.
- 9:27Speaker 1: Well, you guys wishing y'all the best Thanksgiving, and viewers, listeners, clients as well, wishing you guys a very, very happy holidays and a safe Thanksgiving.
- 9:35Speaker 1: Eat all the cranberry sauce you want or give it over to Dan.
- 9:40Speaker 3: He'll be happy to take it.
- 9:41Speaker 2: I'll take it, alright for story scaling for podcast videoscom.
- 9:46Speaker 2: Happy Thanksgiving everybody.
