- 0:00Speaker 1: He's more Marks alone on seven to ten WR. Well,
- 0:07Speaker 1: let's take some calls. Hey, let's get some new callers too.
- 0:09Speaker 1: We always like to hear from our new callers. Eight
- 0:11Speaker 1: hundred three two one zero seven ten is the number.
- 0:14Speaker 1: Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten. Let's go
- 0:18Speaker 1: to Jeff in Manhattan. Jeff, how you doing good?
- 0:22Speaker 2: Mark?
- 0:23Speaker 3: You brought up Rocanna before. Yeah, I got three three
- 0:26Speaker 3: quick comments about him. First of all, you know they
- 0:29Speaker 3: used to say the most dangerous place you could be
- 0:31Speaker 3: is between Schuma and a camera. Well that's now Rocanna.
- 0:34Speaker 3: That's number one. Number two. A lot of good people
- 0:38Speaker 3: lost their careers because they were tangentially connected to Epstein.
- 0:43Speaker 3: This guy Rocanna was in the same northern California area
- 0:47Speaker 3: of Swawell. His friend. He knew exactly what was going on,
- 0:50Speaker 3: and he didn't say anything. Then how does he rehabilitate himself?
- 0:54Speaker 3: He goes with that Nazi guy from Maine. So if
- 0:57Speaker 3: he probably wants to run for president, but these things
- 0:59Speaker 3: are forfeit. And then he talked about he went to Israel.
- 1:02Speaker 3: He has no credibility on Israel because any neutral person
- 1:07Speaker 3: would not support a candidate that had twenty years of
- 1:10Speaker 3: a Nazi death camp tattoo on his chest.
- 1:13Speaker 1: Yeah, well, he was not there in Israel to do
- 1:15Speaker 1: anything good for Israel. He was there to be anti
- 1:17Speaker 1: Semitic while in Israel.
- 1:19Speaker 3: Right, but he but he cannot be taken seriously as.
- 1:24Speaker 1: I don't think anybody, I don't think anybody was taking
- 1:27Speaker 1: him seriously outside of that fake news crowd. Let's go
- 1:30Speaker 1: to Jack in New Jersey. Jack, how you doing.
- 1:33Speaker 3: I'm doing fine, Mark, How are you good?
- 1:36Speaker 2: Good?
- 1:37Speaker 3: A couple of questions for you. What is going on
- 1:39Speaker 3: with Doge? Is that our departments still in existence because
- 1:42Speaker 3: it's doing anything?
- 1:43Speaker 1: Or well, the Elon must doze now that got shut down,
- 1:47Speaker 1: but they're still doging. There's a little Doge. It's more
- 1:50Speaker 1: Vice President Vance in charge of it now he's overseeing it. Right,
- 1:54Speaker 1: They're doing the same kind of stuff but quietly slower,
- 1:57Speaker 1: quieter than Musk was doing it, kind of trying to
- 2:00Speaker 1: do it under the radar. But it's still going on.
- 2:02Speaker 1: They're still making cuts all the time. You know. Part
- 2:06Speaker 1: of the problem also was Obama stuck in in every
- 2:09Speaker 1: department of the cabinet, stuck in a couple of thousand
- 2:11Speaker 1: of his operatives. They're going to clean those guys out too.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Not only are they bad partisans, but useless don't need them,
- 2:19Speaker 1: So the doge effort continues. Let's go to Mike and Florida. Mike,
- 2:24Speaker 1: how you doing.
- 2:26Speaker 2: Good morning, Mark, Yes, Mike, I just wanted to jog
- 2:30Speaker 2: your memor where you mentioned home Run Derby should be
- 2:32Speaker 2: its own sport. It was a TV show, as you
- 2:35Speaker 2: may remember, in like the early sixties and maybe nineteen sixty,
- 2:39Speaker 2: and it was you know, they had all the great
- 2:41Speaker 2: home run here was of the europe Yeah, Banks and.
- 2:46Speaker 1: Yeah, I forgot about that. They did it as what
- 2:48Speaker 1: it was like on a weekend TV show. They're on YouTube,
- 2:51Speaker 1: you know, you can go watch them. It's pretty amazing.
- 2:55Speaker 2: Yes, I used to have the I used to have
- 2:57Speaker 2: the DVD and it was just fascinating to watch. I mean,
- 3:00Speaker 2: it was just just to see the disciplines between players
- 3:03Speaker 2: then and players now. How in those those days these
- 3:06Speaker 2: guys was like quiet. They didn't know how to act
- 3:08Speaker 2: in front of a camera. Now these guys are all
- 3:10Speaker 2: like movie stars and they're like, you know, they've grown
- 3:12Speaker 2: up with cameras around them. But back then, Mickey Mantle,
- 3:15Speaker 2: you know this guy from Oklahoma. Yeah, he's pretty good,
- 3:18Speaker 2: you know. It was the poor host would have like
- 3:20Speaker 2: try to get words out of these guys and none
- 3:23Speaker 2: of them were very Uh.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Was it actually called Home Run Derby. I'm trying to remember.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Yes, it was called Home Run Derby and it was done.
- 3:30Speaker 2: They shot it out in LA at the LA version
- 3:33Speaker 2: of Wrigley Field. There was a Wriggley Field out in
- 3:35Speaker 2: la as well as there was in Chicago back in
- 3:37Speaker 2: the day. Yeah, they're on YouTube flight the year.
- 3:40Speaker 1: Yeah, but there's enough of them on YouTube, and it's
- 3:42Speaker 1: really unbelievable. It's Mel Allen, right and somebody else.
- 3:47Speaker 2: No, it was another It was a local guy. I
- 3:50Speaker 2: can't remember his name, but he was. Yes, so local guy.
- 3:54Speaker 2: ESPN bought it back like in the eighties or nineties
- 3:57Speaker 2: and Melon they may have those guys made Mail Allen
- 3:59Speaker 2: and those types have no I'm thinking of the original commentary.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Thought it was because because they were original. He'll say, well,
- 4:06Speaker 1: we've got our two players here. Uh, Mickey Mantle and
- 4:09Speaker 1: Willie may say hello guys, and they would and then
- 4:11Speaker 1: they're each take turns ye black and white phenomenal to watch,
- 4:15Speaker 1: uh yeah, YouTube.
- 4:16Speaker 2: And then they would sit next to you. Well, the
- 4:17Speaker 2: other guy bad it. They would talk and comment on
- 4:20Speaker 2: him as much as the you know, they weren't very loquacious,
- 4:22Speaker 2: as I said.
- 4:23Speaker 1: So it was Now you're a big Johnny Carson fan, right.
- 4:28Speaker 2: Big, big, big, big yes. Looking forward to your interview
- 4:32Speaker 2: with Mark there.
- 4:33Speaker 1: Yeah, we got Mark Malcoff coming up. He's the Johnny
- 4:35Speaker 1: Carson expert of the world. He wrote the definitive book
- 4:38Speaker 1: on him. It just came out last year. What do
- 4:40Speaker 1: you want me to ask him about Johnny Carson? Anything
- 4:42Speaker 1: you've always wondered? Geez?
- 4:44Speaker 2: Oh boy? Uh, well, I always liked the the episode
- 4:48Speaker 2: where was it Dean Martin was flicking who was it?
- 4:51Speaker 2: Was flipping his ashes? And uh, George and what's his
- 4:55Speaker 2: name is? George Goebels drink? I mean it was cauting
- 4:58Speaker 2: in on. That was that preplay? No, No, he.
- 5:03Speaker 1: Would do that in real life. That was Dean Martin.
- 5:05Speaker 1: He and Jerry Lewis would would always do pranks on everybody.
- 5:09Speaker 1: They would light your shoes on fire, all that stuff.
- 5:13Speaker 2: And it was It's Robin and the Seven Hoods was
- 5:17Speaker 2: on TCM for it, you know, the other like two
- 5:19Speaker 2: days ago, and and you know, Martin just seemed like
- 5:21Speaker 2: he was cake walking through that whole That whole movie
- 5:24Speaker 2: was just like, Dean, can you get into it a
- 5:26Speaker 2: little bit?
- 5:27Speaker 1: Yeah, well all right, Mike, great call, Thanks for calling.
- 5:31Speaker 1: That was the I think that was the last rat
- 5:33Speaker 1: Pack film Robin in the Seven Hoods. In fact, the
- 5:39Speaker 1: cemetery scene Peter Falk and Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin
- 5:42Speaker 1: Sammy Davis is a scene where they're at the at
- 5:45Speaker 1: the cemetery for the funeral, and it was they were
- 5:49Speaker 1: filming that scene when a guy ran in right in
- 5:51Speaker 1: the middle of the shooting, stopped the whole production, and
- 5:53Speaker 1: he said President Kennedy has just been shot. And Sinatra
- 5:58Speaker 1: had quite a relationship with John F. Ken So he
- 6:01Speaker 1: just ran from the set, went home to Palm Springs.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Nobody saw him for a week. He just didn't come out.
- 6:08Speaker 1: He was so shaken up by the death of JFK. So, yeah,
- 6:14Speaker 1: we'll we'll talk to the Johnny Carson expert coming up next.
- 6:18Speaker 1: We've got lots to talk to him about. And also
- 6:22Speaker 1: we'll get to get back to Lindsey Graham. The replacement
- 6:26Speaker 1: word is that President Trump wants Lindsey Graham's sister to
- 6:30Speaker 1: be the replacement the replacement candidate would serve out the
- 6:34Speaker 1: term till January, and that's very important because you can
- 6:36Speaker 1: need those votes. You know, you got a big other
- 6:38Speaker 1: problem is Mitch mcconnald very very very bad health and
- 6:43Speaker 1: you can't afford to lose him. Now, some people are
- 6:45Speaker 1: saying there's a number of people in Congress, Republican Congress
- 6:49Speaker 1: people that could be appointed to Lindsay Graham's seat. Can't
- 6:52Speaker 1: do that because the Republican majority in Congress is so tight,
- 6:56Speaker 1: so slim. You can't pull anybody out of there right now.
- 7:00Speaker 1: That's a big problem. But anyway, we'll talk about Johnny
- 7:02Speaker 1: Carson in a moment. There's a great new book out,
- 7:05Speaker 1: the best ever written about Carson, and we'll get to
- 7:08Speaker 1: that coming up next on seven to ten wor
