- 0:00Hey, everybody, it's Jeff. We recorded this Opposition Territory podcast on Tuesday,
- 0:04January ninth, twenty twenty four. By the time you hear this,
- 0:07some things may have changed, but we hope you enjoy the show. All
- 0:36right, everybody, you're listening to Opposition Territory here at the Philadelphia Sports Table
- 0:39podcast show, the longest running weekly Philly sports podcast show in the world,
- 0:43that's right over ten and a half years strong. We've got a great discussion
- 0:47coming your way. This could very well be the Philadelphia Eagles last game of
- 0:51the twenty twenty three twenty twenty four season as we head into the wild Card
- 0:56playoff week Monday night against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers down at James Stadium. And
- 1:02you know, there isn't too much hope that this Eagles defense is really gonna
- 1:04turn things around, and we're certainly gonna be talking about the state of the
- 1:08Tampa Bay Buccaneers a little bit more to some matchups with our guest. I
- 1:15guess we should just get right into it. Let's do it. And it's
- 1:18great to have back on the podcast coming to us from a to Z Sports
- 1:23love talking to him. When it comes to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, NFL
- 1:26football in general, we've got the one and only Evan Winner. How you
- 1:30doing, Buddy, I'm doing great, Jeff Man. It's, you know,
- 1:33like we were talking out about before it came on the show. It's
- 1:34a yearly tradition at this point, Books and Eagles, so no place to
- 1:38be right now talking some football with you. Man. I appreciate it,
- 1:41my man, always appreciate you giving the PSC podcast show the time. And
- 1:44folks follow Evan on Twitter. Twitter. He is a great or ex whatever
- 1:48the hell you want to call it, he's a great. Great Follow at
- 1:51Evan underscore A to z Again at Evan underscore A to Z. And let's
- 1:56get into this matchup that we're gonna be seeing wild card matchup Monday Night Football.
- 2:00I go back to the beginning of the season, Evan and not too
- 2:05many folks thought that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers would get into the playoffs this year
- 2:08and actually end up winning their division. I remember talking to my co host
- 2:14about this and we're like, oh, yeah, this team's gonna be playing
- 2:15for the number one seed. No way, no way. Look where we
- 2:20are now. Look what has happened with this Tampa Bay Buccaneers team and up
- 2:23and down season, of course, but the division winners facing the Philadelphia Eagles.
- 2:28And I'm wondering, based on where the expectations were during the beginning of
- 2:31the season, what kind of atmosphere as we've gone through the season here,
- 2:36Like, what kind of atmosphere do you think we're gonna be seeing at Raymond
- 2:38James Stadium on Monday Night in terms of expectations of where this team possibly could
- 2:44go with regard to the playoffs? What do you think how Bucks nation is
- 2:46going to be feeling here? Yeah, it's honestly, it's kind of tough
- 2:52because Todd Bowles is a very polarizing figure down in Tampa Bay. And even
- 2:57whenever the Bucks were playing their best football over the year, you know,
- 3:00a few weeks ago against Green Bay, when Baker finished with the perfect passer
- 3:02rating and all that other stuff, there was still a lot there's still it
- 3:06wasn't enough to convince the doubters or even so much more of the haters that
- 3:10you know, Bowls should be keeping his job. And lo and behold,
- 3:14they lose to the Saints the next week, and they got, you know,
- 3:15a rough game against Carolina this past week so and then there's always been
- 3:19the thing about Tampa Bay fans just being wishy washy in general. I mean,
- 3:23even whenever Tom Brady was around, you still had a lot of season
- 3:28ticket holders selling their tickets. Now, granted, I'm not just to take
- 3:31a quick sidetrack here, I'm not always too opposed to that idea, because
- 3:36you can make some good money off that stuff. You could pay for your
- 3:38season tickets in one weekend, you know, and then go to all their
- 3:39games. You do you at the end of the day, and when Tom
- 3:44Brady's in town, obviously your tickets are going to be worth a lot.
- 3:46So there's that context to be you know, to consider as well, but
- 3:50just overall Tampa Bay fans in general, because I've always been kind of wishy
- 3:53washy when it comes to going to these games. And then there's also this
- 3:58idea so like you could harken back to as recently as last year when the
- 4:00Bucks went eight to nine, won the NFC South and then got clobbered by
- 4:03Dallas in the playoffs. Finished with the nineteenth pick. They needed a lot
- 4:06more talent than what was available at the nineteenth pick, even though they got
- 4:10stud in Colidge Ja, KANSASI so there is that feeling of, well,
- 4:14do you want to beat the Eagles and then probably get beat in the divisional
- 4:18round by you know, the Cowboys or whomever, or the forty nine ers,
- 4:23you know, whoever they would play, and then finish with the twenty
- 4:26twenty first pick going in the next year with a lot of big questions.
- 4:29You know, there's always that. Yeah, so I do think there is
- 4:31going There is going to be a crowd presence, but in terms of,
- 4:34like, you know, full throat making life hell for Jalen Hurts, you
- 4:39know, Eagles getting false starts because they can't hear the snap counts. I
- 4:43don't expect that to happen. It'll be a good crowd, but it's not
- 4:46going to be anything too boisterous. Yeah, Eagles Nation usually travels very well.
- 4:49I mean, it's been a storyline throughout the NFL that Feagles fans travel
- 4:54very well. I don't know if that's going to be happening this week,
- 4:57given where this team is at. So the atmosphere will be very interesting.
- 5:00Let's get into the quarterback situation. The quarterback matchup Evan Baker Mayfield against Jalen
- 5:06Hurts. Here Jalen Hurts and the Eagles offense in general certainly haven't looked like
- 5:12Jalen Hurts and the Eagles offense now for some time. They just can't.
- 5:16It's amazing to me how they just can't understand the blitz where it's coming from,
- 5:21and the fact that opponents are blitzing them like over sixty percent of the
- 5:26time during games. It's really pretty incredible. It's astonishing to watch week after
- 5:30week. Then again, we've seen some inconsistencies from Baker Mayfield as well down
- 5:34the stretch. Here. You did mention his perfect game, but he's really
- 5:39been up and down throughout this season as well, but has provided consistency to
- 5:43the quarterback position. I think overall for Tampa Bay. How would you assess
- 5:46where both quarterbacks are heading into this wild card week? Hurt great word,
- 5:56man, great word? I mean, oh my god. And then like
- 6:00I even heard on Good Morning Football this morning that I didn't see this or
- 6:03hear this right after the game, so this was new to me. But
- 6:06apparently Hurts was using the finger to like anchor his bag watching out like it's
- 6:12crazy. But anyways, yeah, you know, Baker had the ribs issue
- 6:15going into the Panthers game. I am a very very firm believer that that
- 6:20really affected his performance in that game. He was off. I mean,
- 6:24he was making some bad throws. He made a few bad decisions as well,
- 6:28but a lot of his throws were off, and it really, it
- 6:30really held the Bucks back and is a big reason why they only scored nine
- 6:33points. And but you know, in terms of where he's at just in
- 6:38general in terms of his play, and he also heard his ankle last week
- 6:41as well, so that's something to watch for this week too. But you
- 6:44know, he had, like I said, I had that great three run
- 6:46three game stretch leading up to these last two games. Eight touchdowns, no
- 6:48interceptions, the perfect pastor rating against Green Bay. Bucks offense looked like it
- 6:53had finally found its footing, finally started humming. And then since then,
- 6:57two interceptions, two touchdowns in the last two against you know, a decent
- 7:01Saints defense, a really bad Panthers defense. So it's it's all about the
- 7:08pass rush with him. And we'll get into this a little bit more later.
- 7:11I only take away too much from later, but when he he just
- 7:14liked the Eagles. Whenever he gets blitzed, whenever he gets pressured. He's
- 7:16got really good stats when he's pressured, but a lot of it's because he
- 7:20can escape the pressure and he finds open guys. But when when he gets
- 7:26blitzed and there's no way for him to adjust the pocket or you know,
- 7:30buy some more time, he just panics. He freaks out, He reads,
- 7:34and he gets too aggressive. He tries to be a home run or
- 7:36a you know, hero so and so forth, and that's what drags his
- 7:40game down more than anything. So you know, he's got to be level
- 7:44headed. You know, obviously, first playoff game since he won for Cleveland
- 7:46a few years ago, you know, a big, big statement game from
- 7:50him, especially where he's at at this point in his career. He's earned
- 7:55a mega deal, not a mega deal, but he's earned you know,
- 7:57a good quarterback contract next year, multi year deal probably gonna be worth thirty
- 8:01thirty five to forty million per year. He's earned all that, and with
- 8:05a big performance against the Eagles, it's only going to go up. So
- 8:09you know he's got to he's got to stay calm, collected and you know,
- 8:13just go through the motions, do his thing on Saturday night and with
- 8:15Jalen Hurts, Yeah, Honestly, man, I haven't watched enough Eagles to
- 8:18fully assess where he's at, but just from the peripheral and the research that
- 8:24I have done, yeah, he's I think he's in his own head man
- 8:28at this point. You know, he's not used to lose it like this
- 8:31at all in his career, obviously being in Philly, big time media,
- 8:35high bed, just hearing it from all different angles and obviously across the country
- 8:39too, just because of what the Eagles have done the last two weeks.
- 8:41So you know, he's got to find a way to just get back to
- 8:45being Jalen Hurts man, just being that bully, you know. Stop.
- 8:48I mean, he doesn't get too emotional in games, but you can see
- 8:52where things are bothering him. Yeah, just throw off out the window.
- 8:56If the big mistake happens right off the bats Monday night, then just keep
- 9:01moving on. Don't even worry about it. Just keep moving like He's got
- 9:03to find a way to keep pushing through. But yeah, in terms of
- 9:07just an overall standpoint, I would say they're both in an interesting spot.
- 9:11Absolutely absolutely. Look, Jalen Hurts, like you said, he's in his
- 9:15own head and I think it translates to every single aspect of what is happening
- 9:20on the field with its Eagles offense. Evan, we can look to this
- 9:24past week. I'm watching the game and I see the tush push, the
- 9:28brotherly shove as we all know that that particular play and how weak it actually
- 9:33was. It was weak looking where he was barely able to get past the
- 9:37line of scrimmage as he usually usually got another yard or two past the line
- 9:41of scrimmage on the toush push, and it was barely there, and the
- 9:46team barely was able to execute that particular play that is virtually unstoppable against the
- 9:52New York Giants. And I'm thinking to myself, wow, you know,
- 9:54the execution on the field, even with that play that's almost money in the
- 9:58bank, that looks like it is taking its toll as well. So it's
- 10:03gonna be really interesting to see, you know, you know where Mentally,
- 10:07I think after the first quarter, we're gonna get a good sense of where
- 10:09both of these teams are gonna be a both these quarterbacks, I should say,
- 10:13are going to be. And I kind of wanted to keep with the
- 10:16Bucks offense, you know, talking about Baker Mayfield, but I wanted to
- 10:20talk about the rushing attacks, specifically with the Buccaneers because they have the least
- 10:24amount of rushing yards of any team during the regular season. I think it's
- 10:26one thy five hundred and nine yards three point four yards per carry. Yet
- 10:33this is an Eagles team that has given up in this Eagles defense. They've
- 10:37given up one hundred and nine rushing yards against the Giants. Just this past
- 10:39week, they gave up two hundred and twenty one yards rushing to the Arizona
- 10:43Cardinals, and then the week prior to that, when they played the Giants
- 10:46for the first time in the season, they gave up one hundred and six
- 10:48yards on the ground. This Eagles defense is very vulnerable. As you and
- 10:54I were talking about four and as the listeners of this show now, I've
- 10:58called this defense, this Eagles defense what tissue paper here? You know,
- 11:01we've just seen a number of times during the latter part of this season how
- 11:07vulnerable this run defense is. So I'm wondering, do you think the Bucks,
- 11:11even though the run game isn't strong with them, do you think they
- 11:13may try to lean on it a little bit more Given the challenges that the
- 11:18Eagles have had as of late on defense stopping the run. Yeah, what
- 11:22are your thoughts here, Yeah, they'll definitely try to lean on the run
- 11:24more. And the Bucks are they're a running team, you know, they
- 11:28run the ball a lot and even at to a fault at times. And
- 11:31we'll talk about that here in a little bit. But yeah, Dave Canols
- 11:35is totally fine with forty carries a game, but now he's not going to
- 11:41force the issue. So Tampa Bay, Yeah, they could go into this
- 11:43game with the plan to, hey, we're going to run the hell out
- 11:46of the ball. But you know, if it's six to nothing game in
- 11:50the at the beginning of the third quarter, whatever side's in the lead,
- 11:54and the Bucks are averaging two yards a clip, He's going to start backing
- 11:56away. He's going to start using it in more efficient manners, you know,
- 12:00maybe like on a first instead of running it on first and ten,
- 12:01call a play action pass. Yeah, because that's that's your true neutral down
- 12:05where the defense never knows really what you're going to do. It could literally
- 12:09be either one and then he would use the play action pass to open up
- 12:13the run game, which I know to some football minds out there just sounds
- 12:16completely crazy. But but yeah, so they're definitely going to run on it
- 12:22more man, and this the ground game has looked good at times. I
- 12:24mean, there was a three game stretch where they think I think they had
- 12:26over one hundred and twenty yards per game, or in each game they had
- 12:30at least four yards per carry. There was a game or they had like
- 12:31six point six yards of carry, But overall it has been a disappointing product.
- 12:37A lot of that is because of the offensive line. They had a
- 12:39lot of shake up, you know, moving Tristan Wurthse to left tackles and
- 12:43Luke getting to the right tackle, which has worked out. Both moves have
- 12:46worked out, but there was still just that cohesive that, you know,
- 12:48that gelling they had to get used to. And the offensive line is definitely
- 12:52in a better spot than it was back in Week three, that's for sure,
- 12:54but they're still issues. But yeah, they're going to try to definitely
- 12:58lean on the run, man, and it'll be interesting to see if they
- 13:00can get it going because if they do, and I think Baker's injuries are
- 13:03another reason why they're going to lean on it, But yeah, if they
- 13:05do, then if the Bucks can run in this game, they are going
- 13:09to beat the Eagles. I can guarantee that. Yeah, we maybe get
- 13:13into that a little bit more. As in our discussion here and again,
- 13:16folks were talking to Evan Winter from A to Z Sports. Check out everything
- 13:20they're doing over there. Get on Google just search A to Z sports and
- 13:24you're gonna find some great, great content. And move over to the Bucks
- 13:26defense here. I wanted to get into what we are going to be seeing
- 13:31from them this time around in this particular game. Look, the Eagles rush
- 13:35for two hundred and one yards in Week three this season against this Bucks defensive
- 13:41front. That's when the Philadelphia Eagles, you know, actually had an offensive
- 13:43game plan that worked. So do you see the Eagles having challenges doing this
- 13:50perhaps once again at this particular point in the season, when both of these
- 13:54teams have we said, I'd like to say the Bucks have grown in a
- 13:58lot of various ways, while the Eagles, of course, have regressed in
- 14:01a lot of ways. So should we be expecting something different from the Bucks
- 14:05defense this time around? Uh? Maybe not giving up two hundred and one
- 14:09yards on the ground. What are your thoughts? Yeah? And for one
- 14:13reason mainly, and it's calij Ja Canci. He was not healthy. He
- 14:16had the calf injury back in Week three. Didn't play. Yep, even
- 14:20Carlton Davis missed that game. But he's not as near as an impact play.
- 14:24He's a good corner, but he's not as near as much as an
- 14:24impact player as Clijeja Cansi's been, And that's gonna make a difference. Man.
- 14:30I don't know if you watched the Panthers game, but there was,
- 14:33Yes, I did, Okay, so I don't know. It's a tough
- 14:35game. Oh my god. I was just sitting there watching this whole time.
- 14:39I'm like, they are really about to f around and find out and
- 14:41lose this game. But yeah, so there was this one play. I
- 14:46don't know if you caught it, and not a lot of people did,
- 14:48you know, It's just something I caught. But I can't remember who the
- 14:52Panthers player was. I want to say, as Djhark it was a skill
- 14:54player, I remember that much. But he was trying to get out of
- 14:58the backfield. You know, the the Bucks had flushed him outside. Klaijah
- 15:01Kansi was out running this dude, a skilled player, Klijah Canty, a
- 15:05defensive lineman. How fast like he that's how quickly he was closing the a
- 15:11like he was out running this guy as this guy was going up that the
- 15:13guy wasn't going sideways, he was going up the field. And I'm just
- 15:16like, holy crap, this dude is so fast, so quick. He's
- 15:20got the motor, he's got good power for his size and his stature.
- 15:24But yeah, he's a disruptor man, and he is going to give the
- 15:26Eagles problems on Monday Night. And if he doesn't, it's because they're double
- 15:30teaming him, which should open up for ya YadA Yabi, a guy who
- 15:33wasn't really a factor back in Week three and has really come on since then.
- 15:37So those two players right there, they have really progressed since week three,
- 15:41And in terms of giving the Eagles fits, the best way to do
- 15:45it is have a pass rush, get that front seven, corral herds,
- 15:48keep them in the cylinder, all that other stuff while getting the interior push,
- 15:50which they can do with Vitevea. So I would definitely expect a lot
- 15:54more out of the Bucks defense this time around. Now the ground game,
- 15:58or the ground or the running defense is a little suspect. They've allowed one
- 16:02hundred yards and back to back games to the Saints and Panthers, who are
- 16:04definitely not known for their offense. Yeah, and they really had issues with
- 16:10the Panthers and their outside runs. So when the Panthers would go outside off
- 16:14tackle, which the Eagles like to do, you know, the Bucks had
- 16:17a lot of trouble with that last week. So I definitely think the Eagles
- 16:21can find some success. But yeah, expect a lot more from the Bucks
- 16:25defense this time around. I think with the Bucks front four, like front
- 16:27four, front five, whoever they put up there, I think it's going
- 16:32to be so much for the Eagles offensive line, who, yes, is
- 16:34a good offensive line, but even they have regressed over the course of this
- 16:37season quite frankly. And I think we're gonna see a ton of blitzing again
- 16:41from I say again, from what we saw in the Giants game this past
- 16:47week, Evan against the Eagles, I think the Bucks are gonna need to
- 16:52blitz. I think not need to, but they're just gonna want to blitz
- 16:55because the Eagles have no answers. Yeah, there are no answers for it
- 16:59at the point in the season, and that's where I think we are going
- 17:02to see whether it's Jalen hurts or running back. We're going to continue to
- 17:06see some turnovers that have plagued this offense for a lot of this season,
- 17:11so be interesting to watch for sure. So all right, let's move on
- 17:15to our two part questions here, as we always get into on our Opposition
- 17:18Territory podcast. So getting into these matchups here, I'm wondering, you know,
- 17:25as as you're looking at this Eagles team, you're looking at the Bucks,
- 17:29who you know extremely well, where do you think the Bucks are most
- 17:32vulnerable on the offensive side of the ball. Yeah, it's actually a good
- 17:37question because back in Week three it was easy and I remember I go to
- 17:41you straight up forward, it was the interior offensive line. Yeah, sure
- 17:42enough. You know they got work the entire game. You know, the
- 17:47interior offensive line has since improved obviously, the receivers or the receivers, the
- 17:51tight ends, I mean, Kate Adden has really taken some steps, yes,
- 17:53Rashad all that stuff. So I guess I'm just gonna have to say
- 17:56the running game, I mean, you know, it's just consistent enough.
- 18:00You know, the Saints held him the one point nine yards per carry back
- 18:03in Week seventeen, I mean, just absolutely atrocious. Yeah, when the
- 18:07ground game is off, it is off, and there just hasn't been enough
- 18:11consistency to even say it's really improved over the year. You still just don't
- 18:17really know, you don't know how to feel about the run game. So
- 18:18I would definitely say the rushing attack. But again, if they can get
- 18:22that going, it's going to open up so much for the offense. So
- 18:23you know, we'll see, all right, And where do you think on
- 18:26the opposite side of the equation, where do you think the Bucks are most
- 18:29vulnerable on the defensive side of the ball. Yeah, so missus, I
- 18:33got let me clarify a little bit of this going into it. So,
- 18:37yeah, we're talking about the blitzing, right, Yeah, Bucks are and
- 18:38to blitz the hell out of the Eagles. And that's because it's Todd Bowles.
- 18:41That's just what he does, right. But at the same time,
- 18:44he does like to send just four. Now, whether it's your you know
- 18:48standard, you know, you've got your three four base defense out there,
- 18:52and you you know, you rush two of your defensive linemen and two of
- 18:53the outside linebackers. You know what. However, or maybe it's a zone
- 18:57pressure where bring a guy up to line of scrimmage, but he drops back
- 19:00and you send four. However, the four man pass rush is constituted in
- 19:06whatever context, that's their weakness because and there's a like I said, Todd
- 19:11Bowles likes the blitz, but he also has to blitz in order to get
- 19:14pressure most of the time because for whatever and this is why they drafted Elijah
- 19:18CANSI typically Todd Bowles is three to four fronts. He likes the it's a
- 19:23it's a one gap defense, but it's is his defensive line kind of have
- 19:29two gap responsibilities where they're just more there to eat up blocks right and take
- 19:33up space and free up the linebackers to do their thing. And the edge
- 19:34rushers, well, they drafted Elijah Canty because they realize that that just doesn't
- 19:38work anymore that in terms of and especially if they want to get a four
- 19:42man pass rush, especially since they're in a lot of nickel. So now
- 19:45you're gonna have Vitavea and Elijah, then you're four and then you're five,
- 19:48you know, defensive backs or however you're mixing up the defense. So it's
- 19:52always been an issue. For whatever reason, the Bucks just can't get pressure
- 19:56with four guys. I just don't know what it is. I just don't
- 19:59know what it's been. It's gotten a little bit better, but it's still
- 20:02a big vulnerability. And if they can't get four, you know, I
- 20:04know the Eagles have problems with the Blitz, but the Bucks are still gonna
- 20:07have to find ways to get home with four on Monday, and you can't
- 20:10they're gonna have Yeah, that's a similarity with the Philadelphia Eagles. They just
- 20:14can't get pressure with four and that was their strength last year. They had
- 20:18historical seasons incredible. Yeah, it's an incredible I don't know. They don't
- 20:22have a Javon Hargrave in the interior of that defensive line. Could be an
- 20:26issue, could have been the issue all season. I thought, Yes,
- 20:30that's exactly all right. To close us out here, another two part question
- 20:34for you about what both teams are going to need to hit on for a
- 20:37win this week. So let's start with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. What's one
- 20:40thing they're going to need to hit on this week in this wild card playoff
- 20:45game for a win against the Eagles. So this is what this is what
- 20:48I teased earlier, and it's situational football. If there is one issue,
- 20:52one big issue with this coaching staff. They just make some of the wildest
- 20:59calls that just low your mind in the weirdest moments, and a lot of
- 21:02times it's in clutch moments. And just a perfect example, going back to
- 21:06Carolina last week, right before halftime, the Bucks are driving right, they're
- 21:10trying to get, you know, just some more points on the board right
- 21:11before the half. It's first and ten from the Carolina thirty three, nineteen
- 21:17seconds left on the clock. The Bucks only have one time out left.
- 21:19They call a run play. What are you doing? You're gonna have to
- 21:23call a time out after that play unless you're dude bounced out to the outside.
- 21:29And then and then after that, you're putting yourself in just a not
- 21:33great position with still two more downs, and you're gonna have to throw it
- 21:37because there's by that time, by the time he gets tackled, there's probably
- 21:38gonna be what fifteen seconds left on the clock, maybe thirteen seconds left on
- 21:41the clock when you call your time out, So you've got two obvious passes,
- 21:47so you're not that sets the defense up. They could pick it off.
- 21:48Whatever. It was such a bad call, and guess what happened on
- 21:52the run. I guess they were trying to be cute, but Chase Edmonds
- 21:56gets taken down for a six yard loss, the ball gets pushed back to
- 22:00thirty nine. Now it's second and sixteen. Now you really got to pass.
- 22:03And they still had to call the time out anyway on the lost cartage.
- 22:07So now the defense, you're in a second and sixteen, you're at
- 22:10the thirty nine, you're like on the fringes of field goal range. They
- 22:14got so lucky that Chase McLoughlin made the fifty seven yard field goal that he
- 22:18had to make before halftime in order them up six to zero, and it
- 22:22ended up being the difference in the game because the Bucks won by nine points.
- 22:25If he misses that field goal, Panthers are still in this game throughout
- 22:27the entire way. So stuff like that cannot happen on Monday night. I
- 22:33know Nick Sirianni is getting blasted right now, and he is not doing a
- 22:37good coaching job obviously. Matt Patricia is not doing good job. Brian Johnson's
- 22:41not doing a good job. But holy hell, man, if the Bucks
- 22:45do stuff like that on Monday Night, they're not winning this game. And
- 22:48they can't do it. I remember your tweets. I remember reading your tweets.
- 22:52You were baffled and then very upset. I remember your tweets. I
- 22:56mean, hey man, we know football like you know, but we're not
- 23:00coaches. But if we just instantly see something like that and are able to
- 23:04be like no, no, then yeah, obviously it's just a horrible gaff
- 23:11on the coaches. I just could not believe it. Couldn't believe it.
- 23:14Yep. All right, Well, to finish us off here, what is
- 23:17the one thing the Eagles are going to need to hit on for a win
- 23:19this week against the Buccaneers. What do you think the Eagles are going to
- 23:22need to hit on. I think a lot of things, But what are
- 23:25you thinking? The pass rush? Man? They gotta get the pass rush
- 23:29going, because if you can, if you can get Baker like we talked
- 23:32about earlier, if you can get him scrambled in the brain not scrambling around,
- 23:36and if you can get him rushed and all that stuff, then you
- 23:37know he's gonna make mistakes. And plus with his injuries, you know,
- 23:41like I said, last week, ribs were clearly an issue. Now he's
- 23:42got that ankle which he was limping throughout the entire game as you saw.
- 23:47Ye, if they can get after him, it'll get them behind schedule.
- 23:51The Bucks are not an offense that can overcome getting behind schedule on a consistent
- 23:55basis. So yeah, Eagles get if they get the pass rush going.
- 23:57And I'm not talking about one and a half sacks and a few pressures.
- 24:02I mean they're gonna have to get them down about three or four times and
- 24:04possibly more. They're going to be in his face all night long. But
- 24:07if they can do that, they'll they'll they'll win this game easily. He's
- 24:11Evan Winner. Folks A to z sports dot com. Check out everything that's
- 24:15going on over there at Evan Underscore A to z on Twitter. My friend,
- 24:19it was great talking to you, always great conversations about about the Tampa
- 24:23Bay Buccaneers, Eagles, NFL football in general. Let's do some more talking,
- 24:29you know, during the off season for sure, and I'd love to
- 24:32have you back on the show, my friend anytime. Man. Always great
- 24:36information coming from Evan with regard to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and again they
- 24:40do some really great workover at A to z sports dot com. Check them
- 24:44out and give him a follow as well. Folks, Philadelphia Eagles. Seriously,
- 24:49I may put mustard on my shoe and eat it if they actually win.
- 24:55I just don't think this defense can be fixed. And Baker Mayfield has
- 24:59shown that he can be a really, really good quarterback and he can chew
- 25:03up vulnerabilities within defenses in this league. We've seen it a number of times
- 25:08this season, and this Eagles defense is the worst defense, the worst defense
- 25:14heading into the NFL playoffs, NFC and the AFC. I'm sorry, that's
- 25:18the way it is. That's the way it is. That's how they have
- 25:22been performing over the course of these past couple weeks. They're the worst defense
- 25:26in the league. And I think the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are going to continue
- 25:30to expose those weaknesses and those vulnerabilities. Tampa Bay Buccaneers, I am predicting,
- 25:36are going to win this game, and the Philadelphia Eagles' and US fans
- 25:41we're gonna be looking at the offseason sooner rather than later. So that being
- 25:45said, again, many thanks to Evan for jumping on opposition territory here follow
- 25:48me on threads at. Mister Jeff Warren, you can follow the show on
- 25:52threads at Philadelphia Sports Table. If you are still on Twitter x at Philadelphia
- 25:59PS, you can follow me at Jeffrey Underscore Warren as well. I would
- 26:04love to say enjoy the game, enjoy the playoffs, but I have a
- 26:08feeling we all know what's coming. So that being said, folks, take
- 26:11care. We'll catch you next time.
