- 0:00Speaker 1: Now the Mark Simone Show on seven ten Woor filling
- 0:04Speaker 1: in for Mark. Here's Ken Rosatto and nice to be
- 0:09Speaker 1: with you on Memorial Day. Mark off today hopefully enjoying
- 0:12Speaker 1: his day, spending time with family and friends, enjoying the
- 0:15Speaker 1: freedoms that somebody fought and died for. We hope the
- 0:18Speaker 1: same two that you are enjoying time with your family
- 0:21Speaker 1: and friends. But remember that this is why our vets
- 0:24Speaker 1: who lost their lives defending our country did so so
- 0:26Speaker 1: that we don't have to worry about being attacked, that
- 0:29Speaker 1: we could enjoy our time with family and friends. But
- 0:32Speaker 1: that doesn't mean we should forget them. Always take a moment,
- 0:35Speaker 1: especially on a day like this, to lift a toast,
- 0:39Speaker 1: or to say thank you, or say a prayer, or
- 0:42Speaker 1: just a moment of silence anything. Put out a flag today,
- 0:46Speaker 1: or approach a vet, Do something to show your gratitude
- 0:50Speaker 1: toward or for those people who fought and died for us,
- 0:53Speaker 1: or who died in training, or who died after they
- 0:56Speaker 1: got back from war because of exposure to a chemical
- 0:59Speaker 1: or something. These people really gave it all. I mean
- 1:03Speaker 1: we say gave it all for a lot of things.
- 1:05Speaker 1: They truly gave it all, and we thank all those
- 1:07Speaker 1: people who sacrificed the ultimate sacrifice so that we can
- 1:11Speaker 1: enjoy our country. Seven ten War the voice of New York.
- 1:14Speaker 1: This is Ken Rosatto. Thank you Mark Simon for letting
- 1:17Speaker 1: me sit here today, also the time Cuddy, are all
- 1:19Speaker 1: the good folks here at iHeart and War for letting
- 1:21Speaker 1: me sit behind the microphone enjoy it these days have
- 1:24Speaker 1: those who don't remember, I used to be on Channel
- 1:26Speaker 1: seven for twenty years. I was the morning anchor, and
- 1:30Speaker 1: many of those years I was also the new anchor
- 1:32Speaker 1: at Channel seven, and then I was also a Channel five.
- 1:35Speaker 1: I anchored Good Day New York for a while before then.
- 1:38Speaker 1: These days am on on New Jersey, which is a
- 1:41Speaker 1: New Jersey news channel statewide, and you could get catch
- 1:43Speaker 1: it anywhere online ONNJ dot com. You don't just have
- 1:47Speaker 1: to be in New Jersey. Hopefully if you get a moment,
- 1:50Speaker 1: you give us a try, take a look at us
- 1:52Speaker 1: ONNJ dot com. And I'm there every day. So it's
- 1:55Speaker 1: always nice to come over back over the Hudson River
- 1:57Speaker 1: though into Manhattan to hosts the Marx Simone Show for
- 2:01Speaker 1: the Great Mark Simone at seven ten woor. Anyway, we
- 2:05Speaker 1: want to pass on that. We will take your calls
- 2:08Speaker 1: at eight hundred three to two one zero seven ten,
- 2:10Speaker 1: eight hundred three to two to one zero seven ten.
- 2:14Speaker 1: For those who are thinking about a summer vacation and
- 2:17Speaker 1: you were thinking about jet setting off to Europe, well
- 2:21Speaker 1: you might want to keep those fingers crossed because of
- 2:23Speaker 1: what is going on in terms of fuel right now
- 2:26Speaker 1: around the world. Yes, we have tons of fuel here
- 2:29Speaker 1: in the United States. We're producing more than enough. In fact,
- 2:32Speaker 1: we are a net exporter of oil and fuel because
- 2:37Speaker 1: President Trump has taken off the the what's the word
- 2:41Speaker 1: I'm looking for, He's basically gotten rid of a lot
- 2:44Speaker 1: of the environmental restrictions. If you will that, yes, thank you,
- 2:50Speaker 1: crash our yarsid you mean take the gloves off. Can yes,
- 2:53Speaker 1: thank you crash crash out his coffee. I didn't. And
- 2:56Speaker 1: so as a result, we have an abundance of fuel,
- 2:59Speaker 1: which is kept oil prices in check here. But I
- 3:02Speaker 1: know because of what's going out of the Strait of
- 3:04Speaker 1: hor moves with Iran, prices have come up, but they've
- 3:07Speaker 1: come up a lot more. I don't mean to juggle
- 3:09Speaker 1: like we have nothing. We're paying nothing compared to what
- 3:11Speaker 1: that paying in Europe right now because the cost of
- 3:13Speaker 1: oil there is so high. Remember Russia, China, and much
- 3:16Speaker 1: of Europe gets a lot of its oil from the
- 3:20Speaker 1: area that is the straight of horror moves. And right
- 3:23Speaker 1: now fuel prices are very high. Well for jets, they
- 3:26Speaker 1: require that jet fuel, and right now there is a
- 3:30Speaker 1: major shortage in Europe of jet fuels. So you can
- 3:34Speaker 1: get jet fuel here, tons of it. We have an
- 3:36Speaker 1: ample supply. Problem is once the jet flies to Europe,
- 3:39Speaker 1: it has to fly back right so it doesn't have
- 3:42Speaker 1: an available supply. So there are many airlines, many of
- 3:46Speaker 1: the biggies have canceled flights coming from Europe back to
- 3:51Speaker 1: the United States. So if you are looking to fly
- 3:54Speaker 1: around trip, not be able to get there and can't
- 3:55Speaker 1: get back. If you're looking to fly around trip, just
- 3:58Speaker 1: check with your carrier. They started in the past week
- 4:01Speaker 1: or so canceling a lot of European flights or not
- 4:05Speaker 1: flying to certain destinations. You might win tozz check ahead,
- 4:08Speaker 1: or have a contingency plan, or hopefully you have a
- 4:11Speaker 1: flight insurance or travel insurance and you make sure that
- 4:14Speaker 1: you're backed up. Although now I'm reading that many of
- 4:17Speaker 1: the travel insurance companies do not account for something that
- 4:21Speaker 1: is out of their control, like a shortage of jet fuel,
- 4:25Speaker 1: so they may or may not cover you for that.
- 4:27Speaker 1: So even then, if you're going to buy flight insurance
- 4:30Speaker 1: or travel insurance, make sure that something like a flight
- 4:33Speaker 1: being canceled due to jet fuel shortages that is covered.
- 4:37Speaker 1: But we hope you enjoy your summer one way or
- 4:39Speaker 1: the other. Remember there are plenty of good places right
- 4:41Speaker 1: here in the US. Think back five years during the pandemic.
- 4:46Speaker 1: I remember we were supposed to fly to Portugal and
- 4:50Speaker 1: we couldn't because we would have been quarantined in Portugal
- 4:55Speaker 1: for two weeks. And that was my vacation time was
- 4:57Speaker 1: two weeks. So what would the point of bit You
- 4:59Speaker 1: fly for two weeks in quarantine, you come back. So
- 5:02Speaker 1: we decided to do a bunch of regional trips and
- 5:05Speaker 1: I'm glad we did. We went to Newport, Rhode Island.
- 5:08Speaker 1: I have never been. It was phenomenal, just a beautiful
- 5:11Speaker 1: place to go to and it's driving distance. You can
- 5:14Speaker 1: go to so many places in Pennsylvania that are just gorgeous.
- 5:17Speaker 1: The Lakes, go upstate New York, there are beautiful places
- 5:21Speaker 1: go to, like George is If you've never been. It's gorgeous.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Go out to Montauku. There are some wonderful places all
- 5:29Speaker 1: within driving distance of here. Go down the Jersey Shore,
- 5:33Speaker 1: go to the mountains, the mountains northwestern New Jersey. You think, well,
- 5:37Speaker 1: that's great for the winter, ken it's wonderful. In the summer,
- 5:41Speaker 1: it's terrific. There are amusement parks there and everything. So
- 5:44Speaker 1: there are plenty of places you could drive to within
- 5:46Speaker 1: a couple of hours and have a wonderful time. In
- 5:49Speaker 1: the event that your jet to Europe, your flight to
- 5:52Speaker 1: Europe is canceled because of fuel situations right now presenting themselves,
- 5:57Speaker 1: the fingers crossed that President Trump is hoping maybe in
- 6:01Speaker 1: the next few days, we will have some kind of
- 6:03Speaker 1: resolution in Iran. But one thing that is good about
- 6:06Speaker 1: this president is he is not just going to settle
- 6:08Speaker 1: for something. He wants the right deal, or else there
- 6:11Speaker 1: will be no deal. He's made that amply clear. Seven
- 6:14Speaker 1: ten w R the Voice of New York. If you
- 6:16Speaker 1: want to give us a call, the numbers eight hundred
- 6:18Speaker 1: and three to two one zero seven ten. Well, we
- 6:21Speaker 1: have the funniest butt kisser of a politician whoever existed.
- 6:25Speaker 1: It seems in the state of New York. Kathy hokel
- 6:27Speaker 1: O katijokol As reluct to say, I know, I'm sorry.
- 6:30Speaker 1: I shouldn't making fun of those awful caps that she has,
- 6:33Speaker 1: but I can't help myself because I'm a I'm a
- 6:35Speaker 1: very bad Catholic when it comes to that. Sorry, Kathy,
- 6:39Speaker 1: it's like she had a two for two for one.
- 6:41Speaker 1: I get both front teeth of the same fifty dollars
- 6:43Speaker 1: from the dentist on the corner in Buffalo. The good
- 6:46Speaker 1: Governors decided that she would codify that which already unofficially
- 6:50Speaker 1: exists throughout the state and has for years, and that
- 6:53Speaker 1: is that New York is now officially and publicly a
- 6:56Speaker 1: sanctuary state. Before they said, oh, we're not a sanctuary state,
- 7:00Speaker 1: even though we followed all the sanctuary policies, and that
- 7:02Speaker 1: law enforcement couldn't reach out to federal law enforcement because
- 7:07Speaker 1: of people who are here illegally. Now, I ask you, o,
- 7:11Speaker 1: fellow taxpayer New Yorker, and yes, I am a fellow
- 7:14Speaker 1: taxpayer New Yorker, even though I live in New Jersey,
- 7:16Speaker 1: because when you work in New York City, you have
- 7:18Speaker 1: to pay city taxes and state taxes, even if you
- 7:21Speaker 1: don't live here. What benefit to you and the state
- 7:25Speaker 1: of New York is there by officially mandating that New
- 7:29Speaker 1: York be a sanctuary state. When you elect somebody governor,
- 7:34Speaker 1: they're supposed to be the person you elect to benefit
- 7:36Speaker 1: you and your family. All Right, You work hard, you
- 7:39Speaker 1: pay taxes, and then they take your money, your tax money,
- 7:43Speaker 1: and they give it to people who shouldn't even be
- 7:45Speaker 1: here legally. They're not here legally. That is so, why
- 7:49Speaker 1: why would you keep voting for these people? What is
- 7:52Speaker 1: the point? And again to what benefit? How does it
- 7:57Speaker 1: benefit the state that you would elect somebody who would
- 8:00Speaker 1: create a sanctuary state status in New York. I want
- 8:04Speaker 1: you to think about what it means to have millions
- 8:08Speaker 1: of illegal migrants in the state of New York. And
- 8:11Speaker 1: by the way, I am not against people who come
- 8:13Speaker 1: from another country. That is perfect. That is fine. There
- 8:16Speaker 1: is a legal process to do it. But ken the
- 8:19Speaker 1: migration system is broken. No, it is not. It's only
- 8:23Speaker 1: broken for those of you who want people to come
- 8:26Speaker 1: in illegally and vote Democrat, then it's broken because you
- 8:29Speaker 1: want twenty thirty million more like you got under the
- 8:31Speaker 1: Biden administration. For those of us who want it done
- 8:34Speaker 1: fairly where you come in in limited numbers, so you
- 8:38Speaker 1: can properly incorporate into society, or be incorporated in our
- 8:42Speaker 1: society and become a successful and happy American for those
- 8:47Speaker 1: of us who want it the way it is legal,
- 8:50Speaker 1: So we could do so to the tune of one,
- 8:52Speaker 1: two or three million a year, which is what we allow.
- 8:55Speaker 1: You know that we allow more people to become citizens
- 8:58Speaker 1: of the United States every year than every other single
- 9:03Speaker 1: country on the planet combined. So what I hear, Oh,
- 9:07Speaker 1: it's a broken immigration system. There is nothing broken. We
- 9:10Speaker 1: are extremely generous, more generous than anyone and everyone else combined.
- 9:15Speaker 1: So we allow millions in through the legal process in
- 9:19Speaker 1: this country every year, and you just have to follow
- 9:22Speaker 1: the process. Can we allow everybody on the planet who
- 9:25Speaker 1: wants to come in? Seven billion people? Know? As the
- 9:29Speaker 1: people on the left left to say, it's unsustainable, and
- 9:33Speaker 1: it is unsustainable. We only have a limited amount of space,
- 9:36Speaker 1: and our economy would collapse if we let everyone wants
- 9:39Speaker 1: to be here to come in. Makes me a laugh
- 9:42Speaker 1: of all the people protesting who hate this country so much,
- 9:45Speaker 1: and yet somehow millions of people are breaking down the
- 9:47Speaker 1: doors to come in every year. Why don't we swap.
- 9:50Speaker 1: Why don't you go to Lithuania or Italy or Botswana
- 9:53Speaker 1: or wherever else these people are coming in from, And
- 9:56Speaker 1: why don't you go there swap because you don't want
- 9:58Speaker 1: to be here. Go ahead, go over and see how
- 10:01Speaker 1: you like you know whatever, Southern googuz yeah, wherever, go
- 10:05Speaker 1: see how you like it. And then come back after
- 10:07Speaker 1: a year and write a little report on what it's
- 10:09Speaker 1: like not to be able to earn a living or
- 10:13Speaker 1: be able to speak publicly or post something on social
- 10:15Speaker 1: media and getting arrested and having somebody knock down your
- 10:18Speaker 1: door because you're gay or bisexual or lives with somebody
- 10:21Speaker 1: unmarried or whatever. You got to do that and come
- 10:24Speaker 1: back and let us know how you like it. Seven
- 10:26Speaker 1: to ten wor the Voice of New York. Something that
- 10:28Speaker 1: was brought up to me that I didn't even realize.
- 10:32Speaker 1: Think about this state of New Jersey as nine million residents,
- 10:36Speaker 1: nearly a million additional people are there illegally. So think
- 10:42Speaker 1: about that number, Like twelve percent of the state right
- 10:44Speaker 1: now is there illegally, which is just obscene, an obscene number. Okay,
- 10:50Speaker 1: here's what it does to the environment when you have
- 10:54Speaker 1: twelve percent of the people just piled in who shouldn't
- 10:58Speaker 1: be there, who were unaccounted for or in the beginning,
- 11:01Speaker 1: so we did not build an infrastructure for them. We
- 11:04Speaker 1: didn't create the extra classroom spaces for them. So all
- 11:08Speaker 1: the liberals in the nineties and the year the early
- 11:11Speaker 1: two thousands, of late eighties, all we heard from the
- 11:13Speaker 1: school unions, etc. The teachers' unions, is in order to
- 11:17Speaker 1: have an effective classroom size, you need you need no
- 11:20Speaker 1: more than twelve to fifteen students per teacher. Then we
- 11:23Speaker 1: can have an effective classroom size. But it's okay. Those
- 11:26Speaker 1: same liberals don't mind when fifteen other kids come in
- 11:30Speaker 1: who were here illegally. That's okay. Then they don't complain.
- 11:33Speaker 1: So suddenly the classroom is back up to thirty kids
- 11:36Speaker 1: because fifteen unaccounted for illegal kids have come in and
- 11:40Speaker 1: by law, we have to educate them. And I'm fine
- 11:43Speaker 1: with that. But all of a sudden, you have thirty
- 11:46Speaker 1: kids in a classroom. We're back to where we were before.
- 11:49Speaker 1: So now we don't have the ability to have the
- 11:51Speaker 1: attention focused on twelve to fifteen kids. Not only do
- 11:54Speaker 1: we now have thirty kids jammed in a classroom, but
- 11:56Speaker 1: now they're multi lingual, so the teacher can't focus on
- 12:01Speaker 1: just teaching things in English. Now we have to have
- 12:03Speaker 1: teachers who speak different languages, who cost these schools, the
- 12:07Speaker 1: school system way more money because they have to speak
- 12:10Speaker 1: other languages to kids who come here. This is how
- 12:13Speaker 1: it impacts society. What do we end up doing when
- 12:15Speaker 1: we have millions of extra people jamming the streets of
- 12:18Speaker 1: New York. Oh, let's just charge congestion pricing to everybody else.
- 12:22Speaker 1: So now I have to pay extra money because you
- 12:25Speaker 1: lawmakers have turned a blind eye and allowed all these
- 12:29Speaker 1: people who are here illegally to continue being here crimes
- 12:32Speaker 1: being committed. Oh, by the way, that's one of my
- 12:33Speaker 1: other favorites. My Democrat lawmaker friends say, Ken, it is
- 12:36Speaker 1: a fact. It is a fact that illegal migrants as
- 12:40Speaker 1: you like to call them, and nobody is illegal. Ken,
- 12:44Speaker 1: illegal migrants cause fewer crimes than citizens. Bull. And here's
- 12:50Speaker 1: why it's bull. Do you know, in the city of
- 12:52Speaker 1: New York, it is against the law for law enforcement
- 12:55Speaker 1: to inquire as to somebody's citizenship status. So if you
- 12:59Speaker 1: can't even ask if they're here illegally, and somebody commits
- 13:02Speaker 1: a crime, how do you know if they're here illegally
- 13:05Speaker 1: or not. You don't, right, so police arrest you for
- 13:08Speaker 1: committing a crime, you are forbidden by law from asking
- 13:13Speaker 1: what is your citizenship status. So when you file a
- 13:16Speaker 1: report on that individual who committed the crime, there's no
- 13:19Speaker 1: way of knowing if they're a citizen or not. So
- 13:22Speaker 1: these statistics are skewed because they love to say, then, hey,
- 13:26Speaker 1: all these people who committed crimes, they're all Americans because
- 13:29Speaker 1: we don't know that they're illegal. We don't know that
- 13:31Speaker 1: they're illegal because the people on the left on purpose
- 13:35Speaker 1: do not ask and do not permit us to ask
- 13:38Speaker 1: if they're here illegally or not, because then their cover
- 13:40Speaker 1: would be blown. That's the game being played by the
- 13:43Speaker 1: left right now, and this has been played for years.
- 13:45Speaker 1: They play with these statistics. Just like Alvin Bragg comes
- 13:49Speaker 1: into office and says he refuses to prosecute these two
- 13:52Speaker 1: hundred crimes that are on the books that are passed
- 13:54Speaker 1: by lawmakers as illegal. Well, he's not going to prosecute
- 13:57Speaker 1: it because he feels that people in the black and
- 14:00Speaker 1: brown community were unfairly targeted in those laws. But what
- 14:05Speaker 1: ends up happening is the next year he says crime
- 14:07Speaker 1: is down. No, crime isn't down. You just refuse to
- 14:10Speaker 1: prosecute these two hundred crimes air go. Crime looks down
- 14:14Speaker 1: on paper, but crime is up in many cases, especially
- 14:17Speaker 1: serious crime and crime involving injuring other people are killing
- 14:20Speaker 1: other people. That's actually gone up, but it gets reported differently.
- 14:24Speaker 1: And so we end up having these liberal politicians saying,
- 14:27Speaker 1: look at us, you'relect Democrats, and look, crime is down.
- 14:30Speaker 1: It's a nice game, guys, but we're on to you now,
- 14:33Speaker 1: all right, we're on to you. So you may have
- 14:36Speaker 1: fooled some people at this point, but you're not fooling
- 14:38Speaker 1: all people. Come out with the real statistics. Talk to
- 14:41Speaker 1: the rank and file police officers on the street. You
- 14:43Speaker 1: know that crime is knocked down in the city of
- 14:45Speaker 1: New York, but it's just funny that in the sanctuary
- 14:48Speaker 1: cities and states it always appears on paper crime is down.
- 14:50Speaker 1: Then do a little analyzing, you'll find out that the
- 14:53Speaker 1: very people who say the crime is down are the
- 14:56Speaker 1: people who are covering for the people here Illegally. You
- 14:59Speaker 1: cannot increase the population by twelve percent overnight like they
- 15:02Speaker 1: have in the state of New Jersey and have everything
- 15:05Speaker 1: goes smoothly. Buildings that were meant to have two people
- 15:08Speaker 1: per apartments suddenly having twelve people per apartment, and the
- 15:11Speaker 1: plumbing and the electrical and everything else. The water supply
- 15:14Speaker 1: was not meant to handle that huge influx of population.
- 15:18Speaker 1: So it's not just about not being nice to the immigrants. Ken,
- 15:21Speaker 1: you're not nice to the immigrants. Everything collapses if you
- 15:25Speaker 1: don't do it right, If you don't allow people in
- 15:27Speaker 1: the right and legal way, everything will collapse. So you
- 15:31Speaker 1: can have legal migration in this country, but you got
- 15:34Speaker 1: to do it the right way. Seven ten wr the
- 15:37Speaker 1: Voice of New York Ken Risotto in for Mark eight
- 15:39Speaker 1: hundred three to two one zero seven ten. Will take
- 15:42Speaker 1: your calls in a moment, so in fact, right after
- 15:44Speaker 1: this break, so we're going to watch your calls. Eight
- 15:45Speaker 1: hundred three to two one zero seven ten. Any light
- 15:49Speaker 1: rain is going to end by about one o'clock Hies,
- 15:51Speaker 1: about seventy to day as the sun tries to finally
- 15:54Speaker 1: peek out for tomorrow. Clouds in the morning, some sun
- 15:56Speaker 1: in the afternoon Hies in the upper seventies. In just
- 15:59Speaker 1: a bit, Russians might be hacking your computer router. We're
- 16:03Speaker 1: gonna speak with a tech expert all about it. You're
- 16:05Speaker 1: gonna want to hear it.
