- 0:36Speaker 2: com for the tales. Hello everybody, you want me to blow? Hello?
- 0:40Speaker 2: Now please blow the wishle Please let's me go. Uh.
- 0:43Speaker 2: The game last night was very interesting, and I'll talk
- 0:47Speaker 2: about my betting situation in a second. Not that you
- 0:50Speaker 2: just care about my bets, but it's just I was cooked.
- 0:54Speaker 2: My goose was cooked immediately, and then I had to
- 0:56Speaker 2: walk slowly wade out of the cooked water. Oh my god,
- 1:00Speaker 2: it was just nuts. So that being said, Joe Burrow
- 1:04Speaker 2: and the Bengals, I guess are done. Yeah, because we
- 1:08Speaker 2: were recording this Friday morning before we do the radio show,
- 1:12Speaker 2: so it's butt crack early. I don't know. I haven't
- 1:15Speaker 2: seen anything at risk. His finger was last week. I
- 1:18Speaker 2: think his risk was last night. He couldn't hold onto
- 1:19Speaker 2: the ball I saw him play. I changed the channel
- 1:24Speaker 2: because my wife and I were watching a couple shows
- 1:27Speaker 2: last night too, and I kind of I can't. I'm
- 1:29Speaker 2: on the road tonight, and then I want to watch
- 1:33Speaker 2: college football Saturday, watch NFL Sunday. So if she wants
- 1:36Speaker 2: to watch something on Thursday, I don't fight that. You
- 1:37Speaker 2: gotta do what you gotta do. I don't. I don't.
- 1:40Speaker 2: I used to, or I used to put up not
- 1:42Speaker 2: a fight, but I'd be like, I need to watch
- 1:44Speaker 2: it from my job. But then I realize, I'm slowly
- 1:48Speaker 2: realizing that I'm not gonna use the word compromise. But
- 1:51Speaker 2: marriage is about knowing that you will win some battles.
- 1:56Speaker 2: You will lose some battles, but it's better for the
- 1:58Speaker 2: ones that you win, just fully win on having any guilt. Yeah,
- 2:01Speaker 2: I don't. I could I have said i'm watching the game, yep.
- 2:04Speaker 3: And you probably would have won that one, and I would.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Have won it and she wouldn't have held it against me.
- 2:08Speaker 2: But I wouldn't have felt good about it, and then
- 2:09Speaker 2: I felt like I would have ordered something else on
- 2:11Speaker 2: like Saturday, which I wouldn't have. But so it's just
- 2:13Speaker 2: not worth it. Smart dude, good job, I'm kind of
- 2:16Speaker 2: getting there. You're early in marriage. I've been single for
- 2:18Speaker 2: way too long, right, I mean I was single for
- 2:20Speaker 2: forty years. Man, that I was two years old in
- 2:23Speaker 2: the dating scene. I never thought this was going to happen,
- 2:25Speaker 2: that you were that that street was a baby as
- 2:27Speaker 2: a baby, Like I was a two year old just
- 2:28Speaker 2: picking up chicks. It was like, I'll always be single
- 2:30Speaker 2: for everyone. Yeah. Uh So a couple things about the game.
- 2:34Speaker 2: Number One, I guess Cincinnati's done. I can't imagine because
- 2:38Speaker 2: they fell behind so quick this year, h that they
- 2:41Speaker 2: kind of needed to have the run that they were
- 2:43Speaker 2: about to get on. So uh, probably not going to
- 2:47Speaker 2: make the playoffs. Yeah, especially in that division, especially in
- 2:51Speaker 2: that division. Yeah. Secondly, man, the Ravens are good. They're
- 2:56Speaker 2: real good except for they are so when they're hot,
- 3:00Speaker 2: they'll be They can be anybody. I think even San Francisco.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Fully loaded, they give San Francisco a real, real great
- 3:09Speaker 2: matchup because offensively well Mark Andrews out for the year. Yeah,
- 3:12Speaker 2: that sucks. That's brutal. And I only saw Hiss out
- 3:15Speaker 2: for the year this morning. I knew he left the game.
- 3:17Speaker 2: H That sucks for them, But I still feel extremely confident.
- 3:20Speaker 2: But even Odell Beckham left the game last night, he
- 3:23Speaker 2: did come back with no pads on. He was holding
- 3:26Speaker 2: his shoulder. Yes, so, as I say, they're so hot
- 3:29Speaker 2: when they're hot, but they also lamark get hurt any point.
- 3:31Speaker 2: He kept falling on his ankle.
- 3:32Speaker 3: He was tripping on turf.
- 3:34Speaker 2: But at the same time he would go around the corner,
- 3:36Speaker 2: no limp, all in butt. They would still run quarterback
- 3:40Speaker 2: design runs with them. What I did like about it though,
- 3:42Speaker 2: is that he would he would purposefully drop at times
- 3:45Speaker 2: when he's about to get hit.
- 3:46Speaker 3: That's what you want.
- 3:48Speaker 2: I thought he tripped again, he did some, yes, but
- 3:50Speaker 2: then he would also go down, So you're right.
- 3:53Speaker 3: I did see one where even went backwards, Yeah, just
- 3:55Speaker 3: to make sure he didn't get hit.
- 3:56Speaker 4: Well, what's crazy is Logan Wilson, the linebacker for the Bengals,
- 3:58Speaker 4: was involved in all three.
- 4:00Speaker 2: That's wild, so that I want to mention that before
- 4:04Speaker 2: we move on with the show because it's fresh on
- 4:06Speaker 2: my mind the Mark Andrews things sucks. Baltimore has the
- 4:10Speaker 2: potential to win the whole thing. They also can lose
- 4:12Speaker 2: the first round. Like they're the highest ceiling, lowest floor
- 4:16Speaker 2: team I think in the NFL where they can win
- 4:19Speaker 2: it all, and they can also lose in the first round.
- 4:22Speaker 2: And either way we're like, oh yeah, not super surprised.
- 4:24Speaker 3: And now Hardball probably wants to win it for his brother.
- 4:26Speaker 2: You know, I don't know that that's the thing, Eddie
- 4:29Speaker 2: he's wearing. They're wearing a decal in the helmets Michigan. Yeah, Michigan.
- 4:33Speaker 2: Dat guy on the sidelines of the Glasses. He's hired
- 4:37Speaker 2: Stallion to work for Baltimore brother. He starts crying. Yeah,
- 4:43Speaker 2: the post game, he's cursing like the other coach. So
- 4:47Speaker 2: that in Cincinnati just sucks. I like Joe Burrow. I
- 4:51Speaker 2: just like Joe Burrow. He's kind of old school, kind
- 4:53Speaker 2: of new school at the same time, really good quarterback,
- 4:58Speaker 2: like stays in the pocket for the most part. Like
- 5:01Speaker 2: he's old school in that way, but new school. And
- 5:03Speaker 2: how he communicates, how he arrives at games, kind of
- 5:07Speaker 2: his attitude. Yeah, and he's a winner and he turned
- 5:09Speaker 2: that Cincinnati program program. It's out of college that organization
- 5:13Speaker 2: from just a joke to somebody that was competitive enough
- 5:17Speaker 2: that they had to not be a joke and invest
- 5:18Speaker 2: more in their team. Yeah, which is what we've seen.
- 5:20Speaker 2: It really sucks.
- 5:21Speaker 3: It does suck. It doesn't They need to stop calling
- 5:23Speaker 3: him Joe Cool though. That's that's that's Montana. That's a cigarette,
- 5:27Speaker 3: the cool cigarettes. Joe Cool is like the not the camel.
- 5:30Speaker 2: I don't think so.
- 5:31Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 5:31Speaker 6: I think when they had the yeah the AD's going.
- 5:34Speaker 2: I think Joe Cool initially was the camp Like when
- 5:37Speaker 2: you look up Joe Cool, I'm gonna tease the show.
- 5:39Speaker 3: Because that's what they called Joe Montana.
- 5:41Speaker 2: I know. But I think Joe Cool was the Campbell
- 5:43Speaker 2: that smokes cigarettes O G.
- 5:45Speaker 6: And that's where the name then went to Montana.
- 5:47Speaker 2: Didn't you guys smokers? No, it's the name of the Campbell.
- 5:50Speaker 2: What I thought that was Joe Campbell. I think I
- 5:53Speaker 2: remember being a lawsuit or They can't use cartoons for
- 5:57Speaker 2: cigarettes or alcohol because it supposedly attracts kids to it. Oh,
- 6:00Speaker 2: I know it from that. It's also listed as a
- 6:02Speaker 2: Mendela effect that he was never called Joe Cool who Montana.
- 6:05Speaker 2: No Joe Campbell. Oh, but I feel like he was,
- 6:11Speaker 2: so I feel like I live in an alternate timeline.
- 6:16Speaker 2: I might be right on this one. Boys. Well no,
- 6:18Speaker 2: if it's listed, though, it means a lot of people
- 6:19Speaker 2: called him Joe Cool in my timeline that I lived on, Eddie,
- 6:23Speaker 2: you must not have been there.
- 6:25Speaker 3: Hey, on that same note too, just a random fact
- 6:28Speaker 3: that I saw I saw some documentary on Yogi Berra.
- 6:30Speaker 3: Do you know Yogi Bearra was No, Yogi Bear was
- 6:33Speaker 3: named after Yogi Berra. Yes, I didn't know that.
- 6:35Speaker 2: I didn't know that the baby Ruth Candy bar was
- 6:38Speaker 2: after Babe Ruth.
- 6:39Speaker 3: Well that one makes more sense, yeah.
- 6:41Speaker 2: Yogi Bear. Well maybe because Yogi Barra wasn't that famous
- 6:45Speaker 2: the baseball player. Yeah, like at the time, yes, and
- 6:48Speaker 2: for baseball fans yankee, but like he's not somebody who
- 6:51Speaker 2: has you know, transcended generation.
- 6:55Speaker 3: Sure, like my parents don't probably don't know who.
- 6:57Speaker 2: That is Yogi Berra. Yeah probably they probably, Oh because
- 7:00Speaker 2: he's a big back then Yeah, okay, I would say, like,
- 7:02Speaker 2: read doesn't know Yogi Bear? Is I know who Yo Bear? No? No, no,
- 7:06Speaker 2: Yogi Bear?
- 7:07Speaker 7: Oh yeah no.
- 7:12Speaker 2: Everybody? Yeah, yeah, he was like a catcher for the
- 7:14Speaker 2: for the Yankees, and yeah, he'd say say funny sayings
- 7:17Speaker 2: all the time. That was his thing.
- 7:18Speaker 3: But see Reid thing now thinks that Yogi Bear was
- 7:20Speaker 3: the No.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Yogi Bear is the catcher. Yeah, the bear he just
- 7:23Speaker 2: hurt No, okay, saying look, this is the thing coming up.
- 7:29Speaker 2: We got Doug Gottlieb. Doug Gollib's awesome Fox Sports Radio.
- 7:33Speaker 2: He played basketball at Oklahoma State, and we talk about
- 7:35Speaker 2: his playing days because I'm super interested. I don't hear
- 7:39Speaker 2: him talk about that a whole lot in his show,
- 7:40Speaker 2: and I listened to him a lot. I think Doug
- 7:41Speaker 2: Gotlib's awesome. But the fact that he's still top ten
- 7:44Speaker 2: all time and assists in the n C Double A.
- 7:47Speaker 2: I'd be leading off the show with that every show,
- 7:49Speaker 2: but I've always got to be like and now starting
- 7:52Speaker 2: the show, top ten assists in the n C Double A,
- 7:54Speaker 2: Doug Gottlieb, it's a big deal. So we talk about that,
- 7:58Speaker 2: but we also get into the Michigan scandal and more,
- 8:01Speaker 2: and then also ESPN betting expert Joe Forton balls On
- 8:04Speaker 2: talk about his journey from Pennsylvania to Vegas and moving
- 8:06Speaker 2: to Vegas to be like a gambler. That's crazy, that's crazy,
- 8:11Speaker 2: and how to end up losing streak and how Taylor
- 8:14Speaker 2: Swift can influence a game. So all that's coming up.
- 8:17Speaker 2: Glad you guys are here, Why don't we go over
- 8:19Speaker 2: and do the tit tat go his name?
- 8:31Speaker 4: What do you think is more likely to happen after
- 8:33Speaker 4: this season? Jim Harbaugh going to the NFL or Dan
- 8:36Speaker 4: Landing taking the Texas A and m job.
- 8:39Speaker 2: I don't think either. What happened now I think less
- 8:42Speaker 2: and less the Harball is going to go to the NFL,
- 8:43Speaker 2: mostly because I don't think that Michigan would have just
- 8:46Speaker 2: dug in as hard as they have with him. If
- 8:51Speaker 2: and I don't think you would have accepted the penalty
- 8:52Speaker 2: that he did. You know, he said, okay, i'll take
- 8:54Speaker 2: the three games. Well one of them he already did,
- 8:55Speaker 2: so I'll take it too. It's like a judge, go, yeah,
- 8:58Speaker 2: it's going you get credited for time served. I don't
- 9:02Speaker 2: I now don't think he's gonna go to the NFL.
- 9:04Speaker 6: That had to be like a hey, just take this
- 9:07Speaker 6: gym and let's move on, right.
- 9:09Speaker 2: You know. My theory, My theory is it was worked
- 9:11Speaker 2: out to where they've agreed up on I'm gonna just
- 9:14Speaker 2: sit out three games because I know it's probably gonna
- 9:16Speaker 2: be a lot worse. But if we look like we're
- 9:17Speaker 2: being proactive, maybe we'll get less type thing. Because remember,
- 9:22Speaker 2: they were gonna like go and file a restraining order
- 9:24Speaker 2: and make it not happen. Well they're not doing that now,
- 9:26Speaker 2: I wonder why. But they needed to raise a stink
- 9:29Speaker 2: to make it seem like, oh, the world's against us.
- 9:31Speaker 2: That's still my theory. I've not heard that anywhere else,
- 9:34Speaker 2: so that's why it's probably really stupid, but that's still
- 9:37Speaker 2: my theory that they were in on making that punishment.
- 9:39Speaker 2: Because the Big ten's also like, we're good. Now you
- 9:41Speaker 2: see him. Yeah, we're all good. Now you did three,
- 9:44Speaker 2: we're all good.
- 9:44Speaker 6: Yeah, he's not involved, but we're good.
- 9:47Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah yeah. So my theory is it benefits
- 9:51Speaker 2: the Big ten for them to win games obviously, and
- 9:53Speaker 2: for him to not be sitting out, But how can
- 9:56Speaker 2: they do the least but make it seem like the
- 9:58Speaker 2: most and make everybody go it's a good punishment that's suitable.
- 10:02Speaker 2: I feel like that happened. I don't feel like he'll
- 10:03Speaker 2: go to the NFL now because I think he'd had
- 10:06Speaker 2: to give him like a private word, like, hey, guys,
- 10:09Speaker 2: get my back here because I'm staying. Yeah, Dan Lanning,
- 10:14Speaker 2: I cannot see leaving Oregon at all. Just can't see it.
- 10:19Speaker 2: You know, we Dan Campbell said he was not taking
- 10:21Speaker 2: the A M job. You see that? No, can't. Yeah
- 10:25Speaker 2: from Detroit. I didn't even know they. Yeah, he's like
- 10:28Speaker 2: he's not going to textan'. He's like, I'm not going
- 10:30Speaker 2: to tex Who interviewed for it? Guy interviewed, interviewed? Or
- 10:35Speaker 2: I don't know who my guy is? Yeah?
- 10:36Speaker 6: Who from from last year? We had him on whistles utsa.
- 10:40Speaker 2: Oh is that right?
- 10:41Speaker 4: He interviewed? Or they're just talking to me. I saw
- 10:43Speaker 4: a reportless as he interviewed for the job.
- 10:45Speaker 3: That's cool. That'd be a huge jump in me texting yeah, coach,
- 10:50Speaker 3: how did the interview go?
- 10:50Speaker 2: Just say that? What do you think? Do you think
- 10:53Speaker 2: i'd have him as coach on my phone?
- 10:54Speaker 3: Or do you think or do you think I have
- 10:56Speaker 3: him as like coaching?
- 10:58Speaker 2: His name? Yeah, it's just a trailer coach. Don't have
- 11:04Speaker 2: his coaches have Jeff Jeff, I have I have Jet
- 11:07Speaker 2: just Jeff Well, I have Jeff parentheses? U t s
- 11:11Speaker 2: a coach?
- 11:11Speaker 4: Okay, they talked to Jeff trailer is what it says.
- 11:13Speaker 4: Now another report?
- 11:15Speaker 2: All right, I'm gonna text him a coach. He was
- 11:20Speaker 2: awesome last year. Remember, I hope you're doing well.
- 11:25Speaker 5: Uh, next time we're around Central Texas, we should we.
- 11:35Speaker 2: Want to come by. Uh was in Austin.
- 11:46Speaker 5: The charity show and almost called to see if you
- 11:55Speaker 5: were available.
- 11:57Speaker 2: But not too much. Right a paragraph there? Hey, man,
- 12:01Speaker 2: are you overdoing a little bit? Shut up? A short story.
- 12:05Speaker 2: He's gonna wake up and be like what I thought
- 12:07Speaker 2: about you the other day? Well sleepy? I mean, if
- 12:13Speaker 2: you can get us some tickets? Do you like turkey?
- 12:17Speaker 2: Thanksgiving's gonna be fun. Let's see next time, I gotta
- 12:21Speaker 2: have to create a conversation. No, I get it, but
- 12:23Speaker 2: I mean it's out of nowhere. You know what I mean? No,
- 12:25Speaker 2: it's not because I was in Central Texas.
- 12:27Speaker 3: And then you're gonna end it with like, how did
- 12:30Speaker 3: the interview go?
- 12:31Speaker 2: In conclusion? Next time? But you uh? Nah? You do
- 12:39Speaker 2: you dude?
- 12:40Speaker 3: I mean you talked to him. I don't talk to him.
- 12:43Speaker 6: Hey, this worked for Jerry last year, isn't it true?
- 12:53Speaker 2: I can't tell you what some of the final part
- 12:55Speaker 2: of writing.
- 12:56Speaker 3: You're like, san Antonio is cool when we whimby's awesome.
- 13:04Speaker 2: Okay, I can't.
- 13:06Speaker 3: The river walks so awesome to go to this time
- 13:09Speaker 3: of year in backspace.
- 13:21Speaker 2: Stop it.
- 13:25Speaker 3: Yeah, this is cool though, this is an inside look
- 13:33Speaker 3: and how you communicate with people.
- 13:36Speaker 2: Oh, still going, all right? And sent nice? Yeah it's
- 13:48Speaker 2: two paragraphs.
- 13:50Speaker 3: Yeah, that's good. So there was a part in them
- 13:53Speaker 3: that you couldn't share.
- 13:55Speaker 2: It wouldn't be in my best interest, and I wouldn't.
- 13:59Speaker 2: He doesn't know. I mean, he doesn't even know I'm
- 14:01Speaker 2: texting him, not yet, but it's definitely me asking a
- 14:06Speaker 2: couple of questions. Yeah, that's all, okay, all right, there's
- 14:11Speaker 2: a chance I can let you guys know what I
- 14:12Speaker 2: wrote at the point that he has to enter the chat.
- 14:16Speaker 2: All right, but yes, that's so. I'm gonna say Harball
- 14:19Speaker 2: though more than Landing, although I don't think either one
- 14:21Speaker 2: of them are going. But if I had to pick,
- 14:22Speaker 2: I would go Harball.
- 14:24Speaker 4: Okay, playing in the third straight rank matchup this I
- 14:26Speaker 4: gotta text back already you didn't it's from him? No,
- 14:30Speaker 4: it's not sort of.
- 14:30Speaker 3: Got come on, let's go.
- 14:34Speaker 2: Uh, you're the best.
- 14:35Speaker 3: We'd love to see you holler whenever you're clothes. You're
- 14:39Speaker 3: like question mark, question mark.
- 14:40Speaker 2: Not doing that. I'm just establishing, Oh, you haven't asked
- 14:43Speaker 2: the question. No, I did, and I said a couple
- 14:44Speaker 2: of things that he's not supposed to. I don't want
- 14:46Speaker 2: him to respond to got you, just to know got you?
- 14:50Speaker 2: Dang he get he's a quick texture. Well yeah, when
- 14:53Speaker 2: a moderately known media personality and rule America messages here,
- 15:00Speaker 2: you answer right back, yes, sir, Okay, go ahead, okay.
- 15:04Speaker 4: And they're playing in their third straight rank matchup this weekend.
- 15:06Speaker 4: Do you think this is the weekend that Washington loses
- 15:09Speaker 4: for the first time?
- 15:11Speaker 2: Nope, And I'll tell you why. They're Oregon State. They're good,
- 15:15Speaker 2: you know, But I think people now are going I
- 15:18Speaker 2: think Washington's gonna lose, and that's usually when they don't like.
- 15:21Speaker 2: I think Washington maybe just looking ahead. And when people
- 15:24Speaker 2: say that so much, it actually reminds people not to
- 15:25Speaker 2: look ahead. When people are like, oh, this is a
- 15:28Speaker 2: trap game, but they say it's so much, it becomes
- 15:30Speaker 2: not a trap game. No. I think they win and
- 15:33Speaker 2: handily easily state favor too. I know I think that,
- 15:37Speaker 2: which again is motivation because it's at Oregon State. So
- 15:40Speaker 2: whatever amount of points, what was it a two point?
- 15:41Speaker 8: What?
- 15:42Speaker 2: I think one and a half last time I saw it, Yes,
- 15:44Speaker 2: so I saw it too, so maybe it's shifting back
- 15:46Speaker 2: mm hm and three points. In the NFL, they really
- 15:50Speaker 2: don't do three points anymore. I was listening to a
- 15:52Speaker 2: guy talk about betting. It's more like a point in
- 15:55Speaker 2: the NFL for a home away because it's not that
- 15:57Speaker 2: big of deal unless you're LA, and it's nothing because
- 15:59Speaker 2: nobody LA fans don't care. There are more Packer fans
- 16:03Speaker 2: in an LA game when they're playing the Packers than
- 16:05Speaker 2: a ram or Charger. Yeah, but three points is usually
- 16:08Speaker 2: still what it is in college. So if it's a
- 16:11Speaker 2: two point spread, that still means I think that Washington's
- 16:13Speaker 2: a better team. They're just getting those home field points.
- 16:17Speaker 2: But I think Washington probably runs it. I'm gonna bet
- 16:19Speaker 2: Washington on that, Okay, yeah, I'll bet them all right?
- 16:21Speaker 2: What else?
- 16:22Speaker 4: Going to the NFL, which current seven seed do you
- 16:24Speaker 4: think has a better chance to make the playoffs? The
- 16:26Speaker 4: Texans or the Vikings.
- 16:30Speaker 2: I know c J. Straud is like the dude, but
- 16:32Speaker 2: he's got a big couple rookie games coming out. In
- 16:35Speaker 2: my fuel, he's still a rookie and they're still the Texans.
- 16:40Speaker 2: Those are two things you can't fully shake. It's funny.
- 16:44Speaker 2: It takes a long time. It's like it's like I
- 16:47Speaker 2: got sprayed by a skunk when I was like eight
- 16:50Speaker 2: or nine and not direct, but I was right by it.
- 16:53Speaker 2: When it's sprayed. I think he was scared and my
- 16:55Speaker 2: grandma would like put me in tomato juice to wash
- 16:58Speaker 2: the smell off. That was what the move was. And
- 17:01Speaker 2: so but the smell, it went away mostly at first,
- 17:04Speaker 2: but it just for like four days, it just slowly
- 17:07Speaker 2: went away until it was gone. It never just left.
- 17:09Speaker 2: That's crazy. That's what being a rookie in a Texan is.
- 17:12Speaker 2: You gotta it's gonna take a long time for that
- 17:14Speaker 2: smell to tomato juice off of you. So until that's
- 17:17Speaker 2: all the way gone, I'll just not believe it's all
- 17:18Speaker 2: the way gone. So I think that it's the Vikings.
- 17:22Speaker 2: I'm a believer. They've they've they're like five and hour
- 17:25Speaker 2: six over without Justin Jefferson. That's crazy, just crazy, which
- 17:27Speaker 2: is hilarious and crazy. Uh So, I'm gonna go with
- 17:31Speaker 2: the Vikings, even though they have a much harder schedule.
- 17:33Speaker 2: I think they have the hardest or the eleventh hardest
- 17:35Speaker 2: trick the schedule, where the Texans have like the twenty
- 17:37Speaker 2: ninth hardest. But I still Shroud's a rookie and he
- 17:41Speaker 2: hasn't looked rookie like. But rookies usually revert back to
- 17:44Speaker 2: rookie at some point.
- 17:46Speaker 4: Rookie get a rookie, you would think, right, yeah, no,
- 17:50Speaker 4: I agree, I think it's a what do you think, Eddie?
- 17:52Speaker 3: I I mean, I like, I don't know. The thing
- 17:55Speaker 3: dobs over in Minnesota is crazy, and I think they're
- 17:58Speaker 3: on a roll. And if they can just keep up
- 18:02Speaker 3: what they're doing, which is crazy to just go in
- 18:03Speaker 3: to a brand new team and act like you've been
- 18:05Speaker 3: there forever and play the way that they played last week.
- 18:08Speaker 3: I mean, to me, I think that's the story right there.
- 18:11Speaker 3: Right Josh Dobbs goes like he's gonna be a legit
- 18:14Speaker 3: quarterback if they make the playoffs, he will be a
- 18:16Speaker 3: legit quarterback, no question.
- 18:18Speaker 2: Uh. But CJ.
- 18:19Speaker 3: Stroud, Man, I mean, he hasn't showed rookie. He did
- 18:22Speaker 3: a little early in the season, but I mean, you know,
- 18:24Speaker 3: he has show rookie.
- 18:25Speaker 2: They show Texan that's what I well, you know, because
- 18:28Speaker 2: they Texas suck generally. And he didn't throw interceptions. Remember that,
- 18:33Speaker 2: even though he was a rookie, he didn't throwny interceptions, right,
- 18:35Speaker 2: he had that reck.
- 18:36Speaker 4: Yeah, so and he still doesn't have Justin Jefferson or
- 18:40Speaker 4: anybody even close that.
- 18:41Speaker 2: But he has a guy named Tank. But but he's hurt, now,
- 18:44Speaker 2: is it? Yeah? Tank Dell or yeah? Yeah, I think
- 18:46Speaker 2: he's hurt.
- 18:47Speaker 3: And I think Robert Woods comes back. What Dalton Schultz
- 18:50Speaker 3: is there so that's kind of his dude lately.
- 18:52Speaker 2: Damian Pierce, I think he's back this week too. These
- 18:55Speaker 2: are a bunch of people that average. For any other team,
- 18:57Speaker 2: they would just be back up totally. But you're going
- 19:00Speaker 2: with Minnesota. I would rather have CJ. Stroude long term
- 19:05Speaker 2: obviously with Yeah, but I think that the Vike Oh
- 19:08Speaker 2: but the Vikings are that's a choking organization too.
- 19:11Speaker 4: Do you think the NFC and AFC have something to
- 19:13Speaker 4: do about it? Like being the AFC is harder because
- 19:16Speaker 4: they're stacked, and the NFC a little easier to make it.
- 19:19Speaker 2: Maybe I feel like I think I feel like it's
- 19:21Speaker 2: shifted about during the season.
- 19:22Speaker 3: I think the Eagles and the Cowboys kind of even
- 19:25Speaker 3: that out.
- 19:25Speaker 6: Yeah, to get the Cowboys and somehow here.
- 19:28Speaker 2: I think it's legit. I give you one more.
- 19:30Speaker 4: Last one at five and five and currently out of
- 19:32Speaker 4: the playoff picture. Do you think the Bill's Super Bowl
- 19:35Speaker 4: window is closing. I don't think the window forever is closing.
- 19:39Speaker 4: I think it's the season that door's almost shut.
- 19:42Speaker 2: They have to win. They can. There's still enough game
- 19:44Speaker 2: for them to just win. They have a good quarterback.
- 19:46Speaker 2: Do you think the door's still opening a little bit?
- 19:47Speaker 2: I think the door is not locked, but it's closed.
- 19:51Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 19:51Speaker 2: I think you're at Okay, so you're at a hotel
- 19:55Speaker 2: and the door is closed. However that latch on the
- 19:58Speaker 2: inside and make sure it's housekeeping cant come in. That's
- 20:01Speaker 2: not up yet. Okay, so it's not. So there's still
- 20:03Speaker 2: a way to get in if you have a key,
- 20:06Speaker 2: and a lot of things have to happen to get
- 20:07Speaker 2: a key, though. I think I have to win everything,
- 20:08Speaker 2: don't they. Well, their next three games, the Jets they'll win.
- 20:11Speaker 2: I do feel like they'll win that game. I think
- 20:13Speaker 2: if they can go two and one in the next
- 20:15Speaker 2: three because they're playing the Eagles and the Chiefs after that.
- 20:18Speaker 2: I feel like if they can go two and one
- 20:21Speaker 2: and then win the other, I feel like they have
- 20:23Speaker 2: a shot. But Josh Allen's there until twenty eight. Digs,
- 20:29Speaker 2: he's the old school Prima Donna wide receiver in a
- 20:33Speaker 2: place where they don't really like it's that culture does
- 20:36Speaker 2: not it's not warm to that. So and Digs is
- 20:40Speaker 2: there untill twenty seven. He signed that deal last year.
- 20:43Speaker 4: Yeah, twenty twenty two, yeah, yeah, so or what a
- 20:46Speaker 4: year we have season.
- 20:49Speaker 2: Four? So I don't think it's closed all the way,
- 20:51Speaker 2: but I think it's going to be very difficult for
- 20:53Speaker 2: them to But listen, Cincinnati is a team now that's
- 20:55Speaker 2: not going to be in the way when you're talking
- 20:57Speaker 2: about all those in the hunt teams that go up
- 20:59Speaker 2: on the screen, the teams that made it. But then
- 21:01Speaker 2: also in the hunt, Buffalo is gonna be there. I
- 21:03Speaker 2: think they're going too. Out of three, they got it.
- 21:05Speaker 2: They have a chance to actually do it all right,
- 21:07Speaker 2: there you go. That's the title title. Thanks the title
- 21:11Speaker 2: tittle twenty five whistles percented by DraftKings, Sports Book and
- 21:17Speaker 2: Official Sports betting partner of the NFL down load the
- 21:20Speaker 2: DraftKings app and use the code Bobby Sports to get
- 21:23Speaker 2: in on the action. We are, oh for our last
- 21:26Speaker 2: I don't know we've hit one all year, have we? Yeah?
- 21:28Speaker 2: I think week two early of this whole whole show.
- 21:32Speaker 2: Like last year, there was a point where I was
- 21:34Speaker 2: ten weeks in a row is unbelieved. I'm getting average out. Yeah,
- 21:39Speaker 2: some years are better than others. Man, It's just that
- 21:42Speaker 2: that's a terrible Michelobs slogan. Rice Is it better than
- 21:46Speaker 2: some days some day? So No, I don't know. I
- 21:50Speaker 2: just think that I looked over it. We're all going
- 21:52Speaker 2: to pick one game. Yeah, don't be the weak link.
- 21:56Speaker 2: That's the goal. I'm saying it to myself too. Don't
- 21:58Speaker 2: be the week link. Allright, Kevin, we're doing three games here.
- 22:00Speaker 2: What is your game?
- 22:01Speaker 4: My game is Michigan the Hardballs going out there against
- 22:04Speaker 4: Maryland at Maryland minus nineteen.
- 22:06Speaker 3: Man, that's the game of the week. That's a tough one.
- 22:09Speaker 3: I just hate I hate gambling on the game of
- 22:11Speaker 3: the week because why is it the game of the
- 22:13Speaker 3: game of the week. Is it Michigan Michigan Maryland? Oh,
- 22:16Speaker 3: that's not the game of the week. I'm one week behind.
- 22:18Speaker 2: I thought next week, I'm gonna that's crazy. Yeah, so
- 22:23Speaker 2: Michigan minus nineteen, Yes, Maryland, I'm gonna go Kansas State
- 22:28Speaker 2: in that point five, which we've learned is a massive deal.
- 22:32Speaker 2: They're minus seven and a half at Kansas, and Kansas
- 22:36Speaker 2: is pretty good. However, we've been there. Kansas just lost
- 22:38Speaker 2: our coach. What the Michigan State is he doing it?
- 22:43Speaker 2: I think, oh, yeah, you're right that actually you're right,
- 22:46Speaker 2: so smart. Kansas State really good team. Anyway, rivalry game,
- 22:51Speaker 2: Kansas doesn't have their coach. If I were Kansas, no,
- 22:55Speaker 2: he's still our coach. We suspended a priestill and science.
- 22:57Speaker 2: Come on, guys, get mad, That's what I would do.
- 23:00Speaker 2: But I got Kansastate minus seven and a half at Kansas.
- 23:02Speaker 3: Eddie, I'm gonna go Oklahoma State money line over Houston.
- 23:07Speaker 3: For some reason, I think it was Oklahoma State my
- 23:10Speaker 3: minus seven over Houston. I thought that was, like, I
- 23:13Speaker 3: don't know, it's a little weird because Houston's not that
- 23:16Speaker 3: good of a team. They did what they beat Texas?
- 23:18Speaker 3: They almost beat Texas. How did that go?
- 23:20Speaker 2: I think that almost be they played they played Texas close. Yeah.
- 23:23Speaker 3: Yeah, it's something like that. So I think that drives
- 23:24Speaker 3: the line a little bit. But I mean, I'm not
- 23:25Speaker 3: worried about it.
- 23:26Speaker 2: Let's just go. Well, you bet you're betting the money
- 23:28Speaker 2: line on a seven point game?
- 23:29Speaker 3: Yeahah yeah, yeah, I think that helps us a little
- 23:32Speaker 3: be the weaklink. Yeah, I agree.
- 23:33Speaker 2: Right, I gotta win some here, right, I.
- 23:35Speaker 3: Mean, we could go crazy and do the minus seven,
- 23:37Speaker 3: but I think we should do money line.
- 23:38Speaker 2: All right, So there we go, Kansas state minus seven
- 23:40Speaker 2: and a half, Michigan minus minus nineteen, and Oklahoma State
- 23:43Speaker 2: money line. Please go, come on, we need this. If
- 23:46Speaker 2: you want to take the twenty five whistles Parla, you

- 24:07Speaker 2: Now let's get to our interview with Fox Sports Radios
- 24:09Speaker 2: Doug Gottlieb Great Show, Great Podcast. He played point guard
- 24:12Speaker 2: at Oklahoma State. He holds all of Oklahoma State's assist records.
- 24:16Speaker 2: He's top ten in the NC double A still and assists.
- 24:18Speaker 2: You can listen to a show daily on Fox Sports
- 24:20Speaker 2: Radio from three to five Eastern follow him at Gottlieb Show.
- 24:23Speaker 2: Here is Doug Gottlieb. Doug, what's up? Man?
- 24:26Speaker 8: All good man?
- 24:27Speaker 7: Hey?
- 24:28Speaker 2: I was looking at the Wikipedia for all time assists leaders,
- 24:31Speaker 2: and I had known that you were one of the
- 24:32Speaker 2: top ten NC double assist leaders of all time. I
- 24:35Speaker 2: would just be obsessed with making sure that nobody was
- 24:38Speaker 2: coming up on me. Do you look and see who's
- 24:40Speaker 2: approaching so you don't get knocked off the top of
- 24:42Speaker 2: the list.
- 24:43Speaker 8: It's like the guys that are good enough usually go pro.
- 24:48Speaker 8: You know these COVID year guys. You're worried about guys
- 24:51Speaker 8: getting fifth in six years coming up beating you. Oh yeah,
- 24:56Speaker 8: last year, Noel whatever from Kansas State. Huh Marquis Nowell, Yeah,
- 25:04Speaker 8: he was getting really close to my single season in
- 25:06Speaker 8: the Big twelve, and had they won in the Elite eight,
- 25:09Speaker 8: I was cooked and he was like really close. I
- 25:10Speaker 8: think he finished like three short of me. So I
- 25:13Speaker 8: hadn't been in that position before. But I was like, yeah, dude,
- 25:16Speaker 8: like anybody who says they don't give it about their
- 25:19Speaker 8: records is fully you know, like you want something for posterity.
- 25:24Speaker 8: I used to be seventh, and the guy who's sixth
- 25:26Speaker 8: is Greg Anthony. I was literally three short of him.
- 25:30Speaker 8: He played a whole bunch more games than I did
- 25:32Speaker 8: because they went to they won a national championship, and
- 25:35Speaker 8: they went to the national semi finals. Right, But like,
- 25:38Speaker 8: I'm still bitter because my junior year, when I led
- 25:42Speaker 8: the country and assist, I was in the doghouse for
- 25:44Speaker 8: eight games. So I actually, in overall average, that was
- 25:49Speaker 8: the fewest minutes per game I played in my career.
- 25:53Speaker 8: And so obviously had I not been the doghouse, or
- 25:57Speaker 8: my coach just like benched me for a game or
- 25:59Speaker 8: not played me for a game like you mentioned me
- 26:01Speaker 8: just like one game, Hey, you don't play, it wouldn't
- 26:03Speaker 8: have hurt my average, but it would hurt my average
- 26:06Speaker 8: but when or my average, but my overall total would
- 26:08Speaker 8: have been lower. But I went through a stretch for
- 26:10Speaker 8: I was playing like eight or ten minutes anyway, So
- 26:12Speaker 8: then you're like, if he hadn't done that to me,
- 26:14Speaker 8: I would have been like third or fourth all the time,
- 26:16Speaker 8: you know, so there's a yes, I definitely pay attention
- 26:20Speaker 8: to it. I'm not gonna lie to you.
- 26:21Speaker 2: I saw Gary Payton as below. That's pretty cool. You're
- 26:24Speaker 2: above Gary Payton.
- 26:25Speaker 8: Yeah, but he did all kinds of others.
- 26:27Speaker 2: It doesn't matter. I just see a list and Gary.
- 26:30Speaker 8: Payton that's true.
- 26:31Speaker 2: Who yeah, who cares? So a big fan. Been listening
- 26:35Speaker 2: to you forever. Obviously we've established kind of a personal
- 26:38Speaker 2: relationship as well, so I really appreciate you coming on here.
- 26:40Speaker 2: A couple of things I wanted to talk with you about.
- 26:42Speaker 2: First of all, as being an assist guy, did you
- 26:44Speaker 2: ever feel like teams knew you wouldn't shoot, like they're like, yes,
- 26:48Speaker 2: it was just back off. And do you feel like
- 26:50Speaker 2: you had to then have games where you would prove
- 26:52Speaker 2: you could still put up fifteen to.
- 26:53Speaker 8: Twenty Yeah, but I couldn't. There was like three games,
- 26:56Speaker 8: So I mean, it's really interesting because like forever in
- 27:00Speaker 8: the Big Twelve, all being known as a guy that
- 27:02Speaker 8: could make every pass, but you know, couldn't throw it
- 27:04Speaker 8: in the ocean. And my last Big Twelve tournament game
- 27:08Speaker 8: we played Iowa State. That Iowa State team was probably
- 27:11Speaker 8: the second best team in the country that year. They
- 27:13Speaker 8: lost to Michigan State in the Elite Eight, who ultimately
- 27:17Speaker 8: won the national championship, and Iowa State AIRYU. Stacey was
- 27:22Speaker 8: the coach and he tells everybody to this day, and
- 27:24Speaker 8: there's other guys that are head coaches who are assistants
- 27:26Speaker 8: on that staff. But I'll tell you that their whole
- 27:29Speaker 8: game plan was not just to let me shoot, but
- 27:32Speaker 8: also when I drive, they'd fake and then make me finish.
- 27:35Speaker 8: Because I got to this point where like all I
- 27:38Speaker 8: did was pass, you know. It was like it was
- 27:42Speaker 8: like the Yipps at first, and then it just kind
- 27:45Speaker 8: of took over my game and it was it was
- 27:47Speaker 8: literally playing without a jump shot. It was really hard,
- 27:49Speaker 8: and there were a couple of games where it went away,
- 27:52Speaker 8: where the like anxiety of it went away, and like
- 27:56Speaker 8: I had nineteen against Southern Miss. I had my last
- 27:59Speaker 8: home gome against Oklahoma. I had two big threes. We
- 28:02Speaker 8: played at Kansasite a couple of big threes, but generally
- 28:05Speaker 8: I just mentally, emotionally couldn't get myself to relax shooting,
- 28:10Speaker 8: and everybody in the league knew it. So it was
- 28:13Speaker 8: really it's actually like you ask people like what I
- 28:17Speaker 8: was able to accomplish, especially like my senior year is
- 28:22Speaker 8: kind of gratifying, because literally played without a jump shot,
- 28:25Speaker 8: and that's hard. It's like living without one of your senses.
- 28:29Speaker 8: So all the rest of your senses become heightened, but
- 28:31Speaker 8: that one sense is really really hard to play without.
- 28:34Speaker 2: Do you feel like you lost your shot as you
- 28:38Speaker 2: got older and specialized more meeting in high school? Could
- 28:40Speaker 2: you fill it out better?
- 28:42Speaker 8: Oh? Yeah, yeah. I mean I wouldn't have been recruited
- 28:45Speaker 8: and been rated as highly as I was if I
- 28:47Speaker 8: couldn't shoot. I mean I was never step Curry, but
- 28:52Speaker 8: I pattered my game after Bobby Hurly, and you know,
- 28:56Speaker 8: he got to be a better, better shooter. In college,
- 28:59Speaker 8: I was a I scored, I was the ultimately scored
- 29:02Speaker 8: in my high school. I had forty four in a game.
- 29:04Speaker 8: I could shoot and score well enough, but I'm ultimately
- 29:08Speaker 8: a bit of, I think, a control freak. And so
- 29:11Speaker 8: part of what happened early in my career and then
- 29:14Speaker 8: at Notre Dame and then at Oklahoma State was, you know,
- 29:17Speaker 8: I wanted to control who got the shots and kind
- 29:20Speaker 8: of be the hero by creating opportunities for my teammates.
- 29:24Speaker 8: And I also I got big and strong, and I
- 29:28Speaker 8: think I lost some of my touch. And then when
- 29:30Speaker 8: I lost some of my touch and I was trying
- 29:31Speaker 8: to control things, you know, then your shooting percentages go
- 29:34Speaker 8: down and down and down, and then you just kind
- 29:37Speaker 8: of get in this mentality of Okay, if I just
- 29:40Speaker 8: do what I can do best, and if I don't
- 29:43Speaker 8: miss a shot, I'll never come out of the game.
- 29:46Speaker 8: I hated coming out of games, and it worked against
- 29:49Speaker 8: me because I figured if I don't miss, well, you
- 29:52Speaker 8: can't take me out. So if I don't shoot, I
- 29:54Speaker 8: can't miss. So I just wouldn't shoot, and then ultimately
- 29:57Speaker 8: people would dare me to shoot, and then it became
- 29:59Speaker 8: really difficult.
- 30:00Speaker 2: If I'm making sense, would they ever talk trash and
- 30:03Speaker 2: be like you can't shoot? He hey, you can't shoot
- 30:04Speaker 2: shoot it? Shoot it every game?
- 30:06Speaker 8: Really every game, every game, and it's you know, you
- 30:10Speaker 8: sit there and literally the hardest thing to do, I
- 30:13Speaker 8: think is you're wide open every time you get It's
- 30:16Speaker 8: like Ben Simmons, how they is like, you're open. You
- 30:20Speaker 8: can shoot the ball anytime you want, and it's technically
- 30:23Speaker 8: an open shot, you know. And again this is also
- 30:26Speaker 8: remember this is in like ninety nine, two thousand. So
- 30:30Speaker 8: what my so, like my coach at the time, like
- 30:34Speaker 8: taken in a good better shot, Like it's actually a
- 30:37Speaker 8: better shot to shoot a three where you can make
- 30:40Speaker 8: if you make you know, three out of ten, it's
- 30:45Speaker 8: it's equally as good as making you know, four out
- 30:47Speaker 8: of ten or five out of ten two's. And so I,
- 30:51Speaker 8: you know, if I can go back and do it,
- 30:53Speaker 8: I would have sat down my coach and be like, look, man,
- 30:55Speaker 8: you gotta let me. Just let me do. Let me
- 30:57Speaker 8: shoot what I'm open, don't take me out out take
- 31:00Speaker 8: me out when I turned down open shots, and if
- 31:03Speaker 8: I make a couple, everything else will open up. But
- 31:06Speaker 8: I didn't, you know, I was intimidated, and I was
- 31:08Speaker 8: in my own head, and you know it, it became
- 31:12Speaker 8: really really hard, and I take a personal sort of
- 31:16Speaker 8: pride from it. You know. The way I tried to
- 31:18Speaker 8: work it in my mind was if I sucked athletically,
- 31:21Speaker 8: or if I sucked at others, they wouldn't they wouldn't
- 31:24Speaker 8: play off me, right, There'd be no fear of me, period.
- 31:27Speaker 8: But the reality is it's hard for me even to
- 31:29Speaker 8: go back and watch or show my kids my kid
- 31:31Speaker 8: that the way I played, because it's kind of embarrassing
- 31:36Speaker 8: when guys playing five feet offee and you don't shoot.
- 31:39Speaker 2: Could you go back and take tape and appeal and
- 31:41Speaker 2: be like, no, this was an assist. You guys did
- 31:43Speaker 2: not count it. I need to move up the layers
- 31:44Speaker 2: two assists from this game because I'll be doing that crap.
- 31:48Speaker 8: It's a great question and the answer is one time.
- 31:50Speaker 8: So we played against UNLB and a really a guy
- 31:55Speaker 8: who's become a really good friend of mine's thing is
- 31:57Speaker 8: Mark Dipple. Mark is Australia and Mark was there point guard.
- 32:01Speaker 8: And so we played them my junior year when we
- 32:03Speaker 8: stomped them, and that was when I came out of
- 32:05Speaker 8: the dog. I was in the doghouse. I was going
- 32:07Speaker 8: to leave the team. And I had a great game
- 32:09Speaker 8: in Vegas, and as as chance would happen, we played
- 32:12Speaker 8: them again my senior year, also in Vegas, and so
- 32:17Speaker 8: we get down. We mollywomped them, and I remember I'd
- 32:21Speaker 8: always gotten a statue half time and after the game and
- 32:24Speaker 8: I grabbed a statute and I had like four assists,
- 32:26Speaker 8: and I was like, what the you know, this is
- 32:31Speaker 8: some bowl and our other our assistant coach was my
- 32:35Speaker 8: coach's son, his named Sean Sutton, who was also point guard.
- 32:39Speaker 8: And he's like, oh, there's some you know. Like so
- 32:42Speaker 8: we actually went back and I was and I know
- 32:45Speaker 8: in my mind about how many I had, Like I
- 32:48Speaker 8: was like, I think I had thirteen or fourteen. And
- 32:52Speaker 8: we went back and like literally by definition of assist
- 32:55Speaker 8: it was like twelve. And I was trying to you know,
- 32:59Speaker 8: I was trying to lead the country again. I was
- 33:01Speaker 8: trying to get the all time mark, which is Bobby
- 33:04Speaker 8: Hurley's mark, which is probably out of reach. So we
- 33:09Speaker 8: sent it BA, We sent it to the NCAA and
- 33:12Speaker 8: they get I think they gave me nine gave me
- 33:14Speaker 8: nine A sists. So that was the only time we
- 33:16Speaker 8: ever did that. And really, like here's here's how crazy
- 33:20Speaker 8: in what a small world Oklahoma State is. And you
- 33:24Speaker 8: know this from your time with your TV show and
- 33:27Speaker 8: go into all these small college towns. Right is the
- 33:31Speaker 8: guy who kept stats at Oklahoma State is named Lee Manser.
- 33:37Speaker 8: Lee's son Brendon, played there. Lee was my marketing professors.
- 33:42Speaker 8: Matter of fact, my last course that I had to take,
- 33:46Speaker 8: I took correspondence my senior year. I had three hours
- 33:48Speaker 8: left and it took me four years to complete it.
- 33:52Speaker 8: But like he was a hard ass, not just like
- 33:55Speaker 8: literally correspondence courses. He could have just gave me a
- 33:57Speaker 8: CEA or whatever. I had to do all the work.
- 34:00Speaker 8: But it's the same way with statting. Like I my
- 34:03Speaker 8: stats weren't great at home all the time they weren't.
- 34:05Speaker 8: It wasn't like they pumped up my stats. I had
- 34:07Speaker 8: my marketing professor who was screwing me with my stats.
- 34:11Speaker 8: So I know one would you get screwed on the road,
- 34:13Speaker 8: but at home, like lead Manser was, buy the book
- 34:16Speaker 8: an assist and assist. I'm not giving you extras. And
- 34:19Speaker 8: so if you go back and watch tape, there'd be
- 34:21Speaker 8: passes where I turn and I point to my marketing
- 34:24Speaker 8: professor who's keeping the stats for our team. That's a
- 34:26Speaker 8: real story.
- 34:27Speaker 2: Just to remind him, Hey, leap, don't miss that.
- 34:29Speaker 8: That's exactly what I do. That's an assist. He'd be like, like,
- 34:33Speaker 8: that's an assist.
- 34:35Speaker 7: Doug Gottlieb show directly.
- 34:37Speaker 8: To a basket.
- 34:38Speaker 2: That's the definition of the podcast is really good. It's
- 34:40Speaker 2: all ball with Doug Gottlieb, and you can listen to
- 34:42Speaker 2: it on iHeartRadio wherever you listen to your podcasts, or
- 34:44Speaker 2: the Doug Gottlieb Show on Fox Sports Radio three to
- 34:46Speaker 2: five Eastern. So a couple of things I wanted to talk.
- 34:49Speaker 8: I ask you a question, you know, Okay, come on,
- 34:53Speaker 8: let me just ask you one question.
- 34:54Speaker 2: Okay, I'm ready.
- 34:55Speaker 8: Okay. So I've said this like voy Seat is the
- 35:00Speaker 8: best city that you'll never visit? Yes to a lot
- 35:02Speaker 8: of people.
- 35:02Speaker 2: Yes, okay.
- 35:04Speaker 8: And there's Charleston's like that. There's a lot of places
- 35:06Speaker 8: like that. And you traveled this entire country. Heck, I
- 35:08Speaker 8: know you traveled the book. So here's here's a legit question.
- 35:12Speaker 8: All these college towns you've been, you've been to? Where's
- 35:16Speaker 8: the place you're like? I kind of wish I would
- 35:19Speaker 8: have gone here. This is if I could go back
- 35:22Speaker 8: and pick a place, this would be the past.
- 35:25Speaker 2: It's funny you bring up Boise because Eddie, what do
- 35:27Speaker 2: I say about Boise? Boise, Man, it's wonderful. What do
- 35:29Speaker 2: I say? It's better than Oh, it's.
- 35:32Speaker 3: Another country, which is no Hawaii, Hawaii.
- 35:33Speaker 2: That's right, that's right, it's another country.
- 35:36Speaker 8: I said, if I got to pick you feels like
- 35:38Speaker 8: another country.
- 35:38Speaker 2: I when I spent time there when I was doing
- 35:41Speaker 2: my that Geo show. I had no idea how versatile
- 35:45Speaker 2: that city is. It doesn't matter what you want to do.
- 35:48Speaker 2: There's some cosmopolitan part of it, there's the outdoors part
- 35:50Speaker 2: of it, there's the traditional sports part. Boise was awesome,
- 35:55Speaker 2: a little too cold for me, But I often am like,
- 35:58Speaker 2: Boise is better than Hawaii to me, cause I've been
- 36:00Speaker 2: to Hawaii a bunch and I don't even like the beach.
- 36:02Speaker 2: I know you're from California. I like, I grew up
- 36:04Speaker 2: in Arkansas. We didn't have beach. I don't like the beach.
- 36:05Speaker 2: I don't even know what you do. You sit there
- 36:06Speaker 2: in the sand. Okay, what do I do now?
- 36:09Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 36:09Speaker 8: I mean Lake, Honestly, Lake in many ways to be
- 36:12Speaker 8: better than beach. I'm not gonna lie to you there.
- 36:14Speaker 8: Yeah it's warmer. Yeah, there's there's a a lot of
- 36:19Speaker 8: these plus like super fear of dying for me in
- 36:24Speaker 8: like waves. So I'm the guy who grew up in
- 36:26Speaker 8: Orange County and I suck at surfing. My son laughs
- 36:29Speaker 8: at me and says I'm the worst, But I'm kind
- 36:32Speaker 8: of with you. I mean, Hawaii does have incredible hikes.
- 36:36Speaker 8: You know, and and different topography than than we.
- 36:39Speaker 2: Have times out of time zones off in Hawaii can't
- 36:43Speaker 2: work there.
- 36:44Speaker 8: Yeah, the time zone is really hard.
- 36:46Speaker 2: So Boys is good. I think Madison was. Content's awesome
- 36:49Speaker 2: if it just wasn't so cold.
- 36:50Speaker 8: I think it's it's it's so freaking cold there.
- 36:53Speaker 2: I mean, we went really did a show at the
- 36:55Speaker 2: or Film there once and it was winter, and we
- 36:57Speaker 2: had winter in Arkansas. We had seasons. However, we didn't
- 37:01Speaker 2: have lakes that froze over and jeeps would drive on them.
- 37:04Speaker 2: We pulled over the car and Eddie wanted to go
- 37:06Speaker 2: walk out on the lake because it was just frozen.
- 37:08Speaker 3: I'm from South Texas, man, I've never seen anything like that.
- 37:10Speaker 2: That to me was bizarre. It was awesome. So Madison
- 37:13Speaker 2: is a really cool town. I like passion. I like
- 37:16Speaker 2: almost rabid passion Athens, Georgia, and I'm not saying it
- 37:19Speaker 2: because Georgia is good. I like the climate and I
- 37:22Speaker 2: like the music scene. I think Athens, Georgia obviously is
- 37:25Speaker 2: my favorite, but Athens, Georgia is probably number one with Boise.
- 37:29Speaker 8: You and I've been so many places urban ones. The
- 37:40Speaker 8: most underrated urban one I think is the University of
- 37:42Speaker 8: Washington because Seattle feels like a different country land. You're like, man,
- 37:47Speaker 8: this is really far from the rest of the country,
- 37:49Speaker 8: but it's close enough to the city. You have the
- 37:52Speaker 8: water right there. It's a cool look in campus. That's
- 37:56Speaker 8: I think my most underrated urban one in terms of
- 38:00Speaker 8: like college town or place that I could I could
- 38:03Speaker 8: totally dig. Like I love Austin. I don't think I
- 38:06Speaker 8: could go to school in Austin. I just feel like,
- 38:09Speaker 8: I don't know if there's so much other stuff going on.
- 38:11Speaker 8: I love at Oklahoma State how it was just all
- 38:13Speaker 8: about the school. New Mexico's kind of underrated. To be
- 38:18Speaker 8: totally honest with you, I like Utah State in Logan,
- 38:23Speaker 8: Utah that that's actually a super the Cash Valley again,
- 38:26Speaker 8: I know you don't like cold, actually very hot, warm
- 38:28Speaker 8: in the summer, and kind of smoggy. It's like, I
- 38:31Speaker 8: think it's the smoggiest place in the country.
- 38:35Speaker 2: Warm me up, let's go global warming baby.
- 38:37Speaker 8: It's it's really But if I was gonna pick one
- 38:41Speaker 8: and I was like, man, if I could do it
- 38:43Speaker 8: all over again, I think it would probably be Tuscaloosa.
- 38:49Speaker 2: No way, You're out of your mind. You're out of
- 38:51Speaker 2: your mind.
- 38:53Speaker 8: Well, I took a visit to Tuscal Lusa when this
- 38:57Speaker 8: is before they were really good in football. I had
- 38:59Speaker 8: I trained for from Notre Dame and I was sitting
- 39:02Speaker 8: out of junior college and I went there and uh,
- 39:06Speaker 8: they had I'm Jewish and they have the Jewish training.
- 39:09Speaker 8: The Sammy's through me a party just for me. I
- 39:12Speaker 8: have my own female escort to the party. It was.
- 39:16Speaker 8: It was so cool, like just the South. I don't
- 39:18Speaker 8: know how they do it in the South is really cool.
- 39:20Speaker 8: The only issue I have with schools in the South
- 39:23Speaker 8: is that they care about basketball and the big games,
- 39:27Speaker 8: but they kind of don't give a crap most of
- 39:28Speaker 8: the year, Whereas when I was at Oklahoma State, like
- 39:30Speaker 8: we kind of ran the school and that was very
- 39:32Speaker 8: very cool.
- 39:33Speaker 2: Maybe Tuscaloosa for both of us, is just associated with
- 39:36Speaker 2: an emotion. I just associated with getting the crap kicked
- 39:38Speaker 2: out of me every time we go down and play football,
- 39:40Speaker 2: Like I have to go stand within amongst the statues
- 39:43Speaker 2: here the place.
- 39:44Speaker 8: Wait wait, wait, wait wait, I'm gonna switch. I want
- 39:47Speaker 8: to switch full miss.
- 39:49Speaker 2: Yeah, all miss is awesome. Boxer is awesome.
- 39:51Speaker 8: I just because like you go. It's like going back
- 39:54Speaker 8: in time when you go to their little town square.
- 39:57Speaker 7: It's so cool.
- 39:58Speaker 2: It's a little rich. It's a little rich for me,
- 40:00Speaker 2: not like cake, like money, and like I didn't have
- 40:03Speaker 2: money for most of my life and it was like
- 40:05Speaker 2: all rich people and like fraternities and sororities. But yeah,
- 40:11Speaker 2: it is.
- 40:11Speaker 8: It definitely is. I will point out, Bobby, I don't
- 40:14Speaker 8: know if you know this, but you are rich now.
- 40:16Speaker 2: Now, yes, But I still I still feel like I'm
- 40:19Speaker 2: not for the most part.
- 40:21Speaker 3: He's not talking about cake either, No, right, yeah, no.
- 40:23Speaker 7: No, Look, I get it.
- 40:24Speaker 8: Like I remember when I was to Notre Dame my
- 40:27Speaker 8: freshman year, and you know, people can google. It's not
- 40:30Speaker 8: hard to find like I screwed up, but it's stupid,
- 40:33Speaker 8: stupid stuff. But I loved some of the spirit of it.
- 40:37Speaker 8: But I did feel like obviously I had never been
- 40:40Speaker 8: to a private school, I wasn't Catholic. But more than anything,
- 40:43Speaker 8: there was a lot of affluence there and I was
- 40:48Speaker 8: just a kid from Orange, California, and it was I'm
- 40:53Speaker 8: not I'm not saying like I walked uphill to school barefoot,
- 40:57Speaker 8: but naked in the snow. You know, it's up both ways,
- 41:01Speaker 8: but I didn't come from a ton and I just
- 41:03Speaker 8: felt like, I remember they had j Crew catalogs that
- 41:07Speaker 8: got delivered to our entire dorm, and dudes who get
- 41:09Speaker 8: the jqu getalog and the others go through and they
- 41:11Speaker 8: this is what I want, and they would tell their
- 41:13Speaker 8: mom whatever and they ordered, and it's like, I didn't
- 41:15Speaker 8: even know what Jake Crew was. Like literally had one
- 41:17Speaker 8: pair of jeans and had my mom got me this
- 41:19Speaker 8: horrendous LLBean parka green Llllbean parka, and that was like
- 41:25Speaker 8: my warm my winter coat, and I anytime it was
- 41:27Speaker 8: below fifty. You talked about Madison and weather. What people
- 41:31Speaker 8: don't know about being by the lake, especially on the
- 41:33Speaker 8: other side of Lake Michigan, is it's not just lake
- 41:36Speaker 8: effects snow. You get lake effect overcast weather. So I mean,
- 41:44Speaker 8: I remember not seeing the sun for the entire month
- 41:47Speaker 8: of November, like literally the sun never came out late
- 41:51Speaker 8: October November and in December and then it got cold
- 41:54Speaker 8: and snowy and it really kind of affected you mentally.
- 41:57Speaker 8: So that's that's the part of that, that side of it.
- 42:00Speaker 2: That's why I didn't play football in the Big Ten. Oh,
- 42:02Speaker 2: that's it, because it was just too cold for me.
- 42:04Speaker 2: I just didn't feel like for me, that was you know,
- 42:07Speaker 2: the ingredients weren't there. So, speaking of football, a couple
- 42:10Speaker 2: of things here, because I listened to you, and you
- 42:14Speaker 2: have no fear, which I admire in just giving your
- 42:18Speaker 2: opinion and if you're wrong, going hey, you know way
- 42:21Speaker 2: back then, that's kind of wrong. But so I like
- 42:23Speaker 2: that because sometimes I struggle with saying I'm wrong. I
- 42:25Speaker 2: just forget ever said it. I'm like, no, never heard
- 42:27Speaker 2: of it. So let's talk for a second about c J. Stroud. Now,
- 42:31Speaker 2: what did you think of c J. Stroud when he
- 42:33Speaker 2: when he was drafted by the Texans, and then what
- 42:36Speaker 2: do you think of him now? And what's the difference
- 42:39Speaker 2: in your mind on what he can do his ceiling?
- 42:42Speaker 8: Okay, so we all carry like biases right against guys,
- 42:48Speaker 8: and the problem is you went to a high state
- 42:51Speaker 8: and how many O high state quarterbacks have we seen
- 42:54Speaker 8: that they're throwing the guys thro are wide open?
- 42:56Speaker 7: You know?
- 42:56Speaker 8: So like how much skill does it take when you
- 42:58Speaker 8: have It's like the back when USC was rolling and
- 43:03Speaker 8: Carson Palmer was great, Matt Lioner wasn't a good college,
- 43:06Speaker 8: wasn't a great pro quarterback. Why because like in the pros,
- 43:09Speaker 8: you've got to throw guys open. You don't have better
- 43:11Speaker 8: players than everybody else. So I think part of the CJ.
- 43:14Speaker 8: Stroud thing was like the quarterback. The two quarterbacks before
- 43:19Speaker 8: him had both put up ridiculous numbers and weren't good pros,
- 43:22Speaker 8: And you're watching a guy he didn't move around a
- 43:25Speaker 8: ton and he was just kind of okay, again based
- 43:29Speaker 8: upon the billing last year. Meanwhile, Bryce Young I saw
- 43:34Speaker 8: playing high school. I live close to modern day at
- 43:36Speaker 8: friends that are there, and he's always been seen as
- 43:38Speaker 8: this like quarterbacks savant, can read defenses, can move around
- 43:42Speaker 8: and throw, and he's tiny. He's he's by NFL standards,
- 43:46Speaker 8: he's an oompalloomba. You know, he's not part of the
- 43:49Speaker 8: lollipop lollipop game. And I thought, okay, well, outside of
- 43:53Speaker 8: him being small, and there's been small guys Russell Wilson, Kyler, Murray,
- 43:56Speaker 8: Drew Brees, maybe he can do it because he has
- 43:59Speaker 8: all these other things. C J. Stroud is bigger, stronger,
- 44:02Speaker 8: But like, does he move that well? Is he really
- 44:04Speaker 8: that good? Is it just that Ohio State has way
- 44:07Speaker 8: better players than everybody else's Ohio State has this like
- 44:09Speaker 8: it's like Alabama. They have all these great wide receivers
- 44:12Speaker 8: and they're just better than nine of the ten opponents
- 44:14Speaker 8: they play. So I carried that against him and I
- 44:16Speaker 8: was like, I don't get it. I don't see him
- 44:19Speaker 8: being star. And then you kind of watch and look.
- 44:22Speaker 8: Last week is the is the perfect example. They had
- 44:25Speaker 8: a big lead, he did throw a big pick, and
- 44:28Speaker 8: they did nearly give away a ten point lead on
- 44:30Speaker 8: the road. But this is I think two weeks in
- 44:33Speaker 8: a row that he's led him on a gigantic drive
- 44:36Speaker 8: and made big plays. What's his ceiling? I mean, I
- 44:39Speaker 8: don't know if he can be a superstar, but you
- 44:42Speaker 8: can't do anything in the NFL unless you have a
- 44:45Speaker 8: dude back there, a guy you can count on, a
- 44:48Speaker 8: guy that can play, can deliver the mail. He doesn't
- 44:51Speaker 8: have to be Aaron Rodgers, he doesn't have to be
- 44:53Speaker 8: Pat Mahomes. But he can't be one of these guys
- 44:56Speaker 8: that stinks. He can't be Zack Wilson. He can't be
- 44:58Speaker 8: a guy that in the real magic to building a
- 45:01Speaker 8: team in the NFL is you got to do it.
- 45:03Speaker 8: During years two, three, and four of their rookie contract
- 45:06Speaker 8: because they don't make much money, and then you can
- 45:08Speaker 8: build a whole roster around them. Houston has that. So
- 45:12Speaker 8: that's where I I do two things, though, Bobby, I
- 45:15Speaker 8: want to make sure I point this out. I will
- 45:16Speaker 8: say that I'm wrong, But I also don't hate saying
- 45:19Speaker 8: when I was right. You know, everybody was like, you know,
- 45:24Speaker 8: I don't want to be that guy.
- 45:25Speaker 7: No.
- 45:25Speaker 8: I like being that guy. I really like being that
- 45:27Speaker 8: guy that says yet no, I like to say I
- 45:29Speaker 8: told you so, what about that? That's why it works
- 45:32Speaker 8: for me.
- 45:32Speaker 2: The situation in Michigan right now, is this going to
- 45:34Speaker 2: get worse before it gets better? Or will we just
- 45:36Speaker 2: look back at this and laugh in three years.
- 45:38Speaker 8: I think we'll look back and laugh three years. It's stupid, stupid,
- 45:43Speaker 8: you know, I mean, look, was there Hubris? Is that
- 45:47Speaker 8: why they sent some ex marine out on the road
- 45:50Speaker 8: to go? And yeah, and like he put everything under
- 45:53Speaker 8: his own name, like they weren't even trying to hide it.
- 45:57Speaker 8: But like this idea of a dance scouting, I mean,
- 46:01Speaker 8: I don't know if you know this story. Mike Leach,
- 46:04Speaker 8: the late Mike Leech, who of course was at Mississippi State,
- 46:07Speaker 8: Washington State and Texas Tech, and there's a story you
- 46:10Speaker 8: can google and see it online. He was the offensive
- 46:12Speaker 8: coordinator at Oklahoma Bob Stoops's first year nineteen ninety nine
- 46:16Speaker 8: two thousand and they beat Texas and the famous story
- 46:18Speaker 8: was they left a scatter report mistakenly on the field
- 46:23Speaker 8: at the Cotton Bowl before the game, and then they
- 46:26Speaker 8: knew Texas thought things were coming and they did the opposite. Right,
- 46:30Speaker 8: this stuff's been happening. Like I played football growing up,
- 46:34Speaker 8: and I remember like we used to line up with
- 46:37Speaker 8: our backs to the other team in case they were
- 46:40Speaker 8: spying on us. High school football teams think somebody's spying that.
- 46:43Speaker 8: So everybody assumes somebody's looking and trying to find your signals.
- 46:48Speaker 8: You know, basketball teams they used copy or they go
- 46:52Speaker 8: to a tournament and they find your hand signals and
- 46:54Speaker 8: your calls. They wouldn't have three different signs and guys
- 46:58Speaker 8: you know, you know, doing the Larry Moe and Curly
- 47:01Speaker 8: if they didn't think somebody was saying I just I
- 47:04Speaker 8: think part of it is people don't really like harball.
- 47:07Speaker 8: Part of it is there is some a ton of
- 47:10Speaker 8: arrogance there with Michigan, and part of it is like
- 47:13Speaker 8: we've crept in this era now where everybody has a
- 47:16Speaker 8: cell phone, so there's no real secrets, right, and we
- 47:22Speaker 8: knew this was going on, and there's counterintelligence going on
- 47:27Speaker 8: as well. It looks bad they're holding harball out and
- 47:31Speaker 8: I'm only interested in what happens against Ohio State if
- 47:34Speaker 8: that somehow changes the tenor of the game. I don't
- 47:38Speaker 8: think he makes play calls. I don't think he does
- 47:40Speaker 8: a ton game day outside of that one decision. Do
- 47:43Speaker 8: we go for it, do we not go for it?
- 47:44Speaker 8: Do we punt here? Do we go for it? You know,
- 47:47Speaker 8: like the last and final word you're missing and the
- 47:50Speaker 8: adjustments at halftime for a guy who you know played
- 47:52Speaker 8: at every level and played well and then has coached
- 47:55Speaker 8: at every level and coached well. So I think those
- 47:57Speaker 8: things you are missing. But yeah, we're gonna look back
- 48:01Speaker 8: and go really, you know, it's like you know this,
- 48:04Speaker 8: the SEC was buying kids long before nil, like that's
- 48:08Speaker 8: the best advantage you can have have better players than
- 48:10Speaker 8: the other team, whereas the Big Ten like this is cheating.
- 48:14Speaker 8: The SEC has to be laughing at the Big Ten.
- 48:17Speaker 2: Speaking of the SEC, my final question here is Texas
- 48:20Speaker 2: A and M who I understand who would take the job,
- 48:23Speaker 2: somebody that wants to get paid. But I mean the
- 48:25Speaker 2: expectations for that program seem now to have outgrown actually
- 48:29Speaker 2: what that program can do. Your thoughts on that job,
- 48:32Speaker 2: who who will? Who would be good there? And why
- 48:35Speaker 2: in the world would they take it?
- 48:37Speaker 8: Nothing says college football more than Texas A and M. Okay,
- 48:42Speaker 8: Because if you were to write down what you need
- 48:45Speaker 8: to be successful in college football, right, Okay, you need
- 48:49Speaker 8: to be in a location close to proximity where players are.
- 48:53Speaker 8: Can you get any better than an hour and a
- 48:55Speaker 8: half from Houston? You cannot. You need to have resources.
- 48:58Speaker 8: They got everything, got money. They're paying a dude's seventy
- 49:02Speaker 8: six million to not coach. Oh what what you know?
- 49:06Speaker 8: You need resources, financial resists, you need facilities, You need
- 49:10Speaker 8: a passionate fan base. You need some history. They don't
- 49:13Speaker 8: have much recent history, but I mean they had Manziella, Hell,
- 49:15Speaker 8: they had Kyler Murray, like they had dudes there. You
- 49:18Speaker 8: need all these things, and yet they still are the
- 49:21Speaker 8: exact same program they were in the decade plus they
- 49:24Speaker 8: were in the Big twelve. Right, they're like eight and
- 49:26Speaker 8: five every year. And it's one of those things where
- 49:31Speaker 8: it feels like the more they want it, the tighter
- 49:34Speaker 8: they grip it. And look, let's also be honest, that
- 49:37Speaker 8: place is it may not be a cult, but it
- 49:41Speaker 8: feels a little like a cult, right, it just does.
- 49:43Speaker 8: Like am I am I an alternate universe? And you
- 49:47Speaker 8: asked about places that you would go, Like, that's kind
- 49:50Speaker 8: of a place where it's not really my jam, but
- 49:52Speaker 8: I can understand if it was your jam. Like, no
- 49:54Speaker 8: one loves their school and loves their thing more than Agris,
- 49:58Speaker 8: but they just have two many meddlers. You know, they're
- 50:01Speaker 8: like the high school. They like the youth football team
- 50:04Speaker 8: that has all the players, but all the parents are
- 50:06Speaker 8: trying to coach from the stands. That's the only explanation
- 50:10Speaker 8: for why they can't get it right is they have
- 50:11Speaker 8: so many people meddling that the second they lose, it's,
- 50:15Speaker 8: you know, the world is crashing down on us. Who
- 50:19Speaker 8: wants that job? I mean, look, it's a you can
- 50:23Speaker 8: you can retire on that money. But it feels like
- 50:28Speaker 8: in every sport there's a job like this. In the NBA,
- 50:30Speaker 8: it's the New York Knicks. How many guys have taken
- 50:33Speaker 8: that job? Like I can fix the New York Knicks.
- 50:35Speaker 8: If I win, They're going to have a ticker tape parade.
- 50:38Speaker 8: You know, in the Valley of champions everybody thinks they
- 50:41Speaker 8: can do it, and no one's done it, you know,
- 50:44Speaker 8: And that's college. This is the college football program that
- 50:47Speaker 8: there's no reason that they can't have their moment to shine,
- 50:51Speaker 8: you know, because they have everything everything. There's zero reason.
- 50:56Speaker 8: And they've hired like that's a guy that's won a
- 50:59Speaker 8: national championship and won a national championship when he was
- 51:02Speaker 8: at LSU as well on saban staff, Like he's not
- 51:04Speaker 8: an idiot. Like his ego might be out of control,
- 51:06Speaker 8: but he's not an idiot. Dennis Francioni he won everywhere
- 51:10Speaker 8: when he got there, couldn't win there, and they had
- 51:13Speaker 8: dudes when someone was there, they could never figure it out.
- 51:17Speaker 8: I just think it's one of those jobs where it
- 51:20Speaker 8: looks really really good because it checks all these boxes,
- 51:24Speaker 8: but when you kind of get down to it, you're
- 51:26Speaker 8: like kind of a cult. Everybody's got an opinion. The
- 51:30Speaker 8: second things go bad, people bail on you. I don't know,
- 51:34Speaker 8: I get why. And here's one other thing. Nil has
- 51:38Speaker 8: changed one thing in college sports. It used to be
- 51:41Speaker 8: about location, location, location. You can't win a national championship
- 51:46Speaker 8: at Oregon because there's no in state players. Well, now
- 51:50Speaker 8: doesn't matter because players can fly their family in, fly
- 51:54Speaker 8: their girls in whatever. And the Big Ten is a
- 51:56Speaker 8: national conference. Every game's on TV, and as long as
- 52:00Speaker 8: you play, you know they'll probably find a way to
- 52:02Speaker 8: play a game of year. In the state of Texas,
- 52:04Speaker 8: I think you'll be okay. So it's look around the sport.
- 52:08Speaker 8: Location matters less than it ever has before. And so
- 52:12Speaker 8: a lot of these other coaches are like, I don't
- 52:15Speaker 8: know what I like to get paid, sure, but do
- 52:18Speaker 8: I want to put up with all that crap where
- 52:20Speaker 8: I have to worry? Because remember, you're not just dealing
- 52:22Speaker 8: with boosters. Now with nil you have to deal with agents, parents, players,
- 52:26Speaker 8: transfer portal stuff. As the second you see a kid,
- 52:29Speaker 8: he wants to leave administrators. And it's even political. In
- 52:33Speaker 8: the state of Texas, you got governors that want to
- 52:36Speaker 8: meddle with what you're doing in football. So it's a
- 52:39Speaker 8: complicated gig. That's why it makes a lot, and somebody's
- 52:42Speaker 8: going to take it. But I don't know if anybody's
- 52:45Speaker 8: found that kind of cure for football cancer, because that's
- 52:48Speaker 8: exactly what an M is.

- 54:21Speaker 2: We're gonna go down talk with Joe Fortenbaugh. ESPN's Joe Fordenbaugh,
- 54:26Speaker 2: who is a betting analyst for ESPN bet Live that
- 54:29Speaker 2: was known as Daily Wager. He's also a co host
- 54:31Speaker 2: on ESPN Radio's daily radio show, It's Carlin Versus Joe.
- 54:35Speaker 2: You can follow Joe on Twitter at Joe Fortenball. Here
- 54:38Speaker 2: he is Joe Fortenbaugh. Hey Joe, how's it.
- 54:40Speaker 7: Going, Bobby? I'm well today? How are you?
- 54:42Speaker 2: Hey? Good? I was, I've been following you for a while.
- 54:45Speaker 2: But what's to me to move to Vegas and live
- 54:50Speaker 2: the lifestyle in Vegas and tried to learn from others
- 54:54Speaker 2: that are our sports better people in the know? Is
- 54:58Speaker 2: there actually an in the no in Vegas? Like what
- 55:01Speaker 2: is the in the know?
- 55:02Speaker 7: Sports betting wise? Yeah?
- 55:03Speaker 2: Like no, like sports betting? Like who how when they're
- 55:07Speaker 2: set in these lines? And I'm sure when you're living
- 55:10Speaker 2: there and you're in the mix, who's set in the
- 55:12Speaker 2: lines and who? And how do they know?
- 55:14Speaker 7: So you've got well, it depends on what type of
- 55:16Speaker 7: sports book you're talking about, right, Like you go to
- 55:19Speaker 7: a sharp book with smart guys, the Westgates one of them,
- 55:22Speaker 7: Circus one of them. Those are two examples. They've got
- 55:25Speaker 7: teams of guys there that talk these lines out, they
- 55:28Speaker 7: originate the lines. They'll say, this is what we make
- 55:31Speaker 7: it they'll post it and they'll go from there. Other
- 55:33Speaker 7: places will just copy what they do and they'll let
- 55:36Speaker 7: that number get beat up a little bit by professional
- 55:39Speaker 7: betters and all that, and when it rounds in the form,
- 55:41Speaker 7: then they'll post it so that they won't have as
- 55:43Speaker 7: much liability. But the guys who do it are very
- 55:45Speaker 7: very bright. They sit in a room, they have their algorithms,
- 55:48Speaker 7: their models, their opinions, and they talk it out and
- 55:51Speaker 7: they post. Sometimes they get hit, but for the most part,
- 55:54Speaker 7: like with the guys that work at the Westgate, those
- 55:56Speaker 7: guys are very very bright.
- 55:57Speaker 2: I always feel like they know somebody they call like
- 56:00Speaker 2: the backup center and they're like, Yo, how's Joe's ankle?
- 56:04Speaker 2: Like is that part of the process too, like actually
- 56:07Speaker 2: knowing stuff?
- 56:07Speaker 7: I mean they Okay, here's an example. Right the Deshaun
- 56:10Speaker 7: Watson news breaks. Now that point spread is sitting everywhere
- 56:14Speaker 7: at about four and a half. The Steelers are four
- 56:16Speaker 7: and a half point underdog Browns are four and a
- 56:18Speaker 7: half point favorite. Totals around thirty seven and a half.
- 56:22Speaker 7: The second that happens, there's two ways you can go.
- 56:25Speaker 7: Some places pull the line off the board so nobody
- 56:27Speaker 7: can bet it. Some places adjust their numbers, and we
- 56:30Speaker 7: saw it move all the way through three down to
- 56:33Speaker 7: about two or two and a half. Total comes down
- 56:36Speaker 7: from about thirty seven and a half to thirty four.
- 56:39Speaker 7: That moved through three is a very key number. Three
- 56:42Speaker 7: is the most important number in all of football betting
- 56:45Speaker 7: because more games end on a differential of three than
- 56:49Speaker 7: any other number, like twenty four to twenty one, twenty
- 56:53Speaker 7: seven to twenty four. So you want to make sure
- 56:55Speaker 7: you're on the right side of three when a game
- 56:57Speaker 7: is dancing around that key number.
- 56:59Speaker 2: So, oh is it important? Because I just picture it
- 57:02Speaker 2: like TMZ or Harvey Elevan's got people everywhere he has,
- 57:06Speaker 2: you know, he's like given a valet a few bucks
- 57:08Speaker 2: here to always watch. He's got a nurse somewhere. So
- 57:11Speaker 2: I pictured like they're inside people not doing anything nefarious,
- 57:14Speaker 2: but are just in the know that you can call
- 57:17Speaker 2: and be like, hey, you're close to the situation because
- 57:19Speaker 2: they're not making the bets, but they're just trying to
- 57:21Speaker 2: set it up to where it basically it's even on
- 57:24Speaker 2: both sides. So theoretically they would just get the big
- 57:28Speaker 2: the betting money, right, Yeah.
- 57:29Speaker 7: The Jews if you look ideally for a lot of
- 57:32Speaker 7: these places. If you could hang a number at seven
- 57:34Speaker 7: and a half and take a million dollars on the
- 57:37Speaker 7: favorite and a million dollars on the dog, you take
- 57:40Speaker 7: your ten percent, which is one hundred k, and you
- 57:41Speaker 7: walk away risk free. That's a great spot. Some books
- 57:44Speaker 7: like to take a position. They might offer a different
- 57:46Speaker 7: price than everyone else, and they'll say, look, if you
- 57:49Speaker 7: like this side, come bet it here. We'll give you
- 57:50Speaker 7: the best price because we believe it's going to go
- 57:52Speaker 7: the other way. But it's the professionals that are the
- 57:55Speaker 7: ones that have ties to you know, perhaps teams, trainers,
- 57:59Speaker 7: doc guys of that nature are very valuable in terms
- 58:03Speaker 7: of whether or not a guy is gonna play, or
- 58:04Speaker 7: if he is going to play, how healthy he's actually
- 58:06Speaker 7: gonna be.
- 58:07Speaker 2: I know a guy in college ended up being a
- 58:08Speaker 2: weather man, I guess a meteorologist, and people will get
- 58:12Speaker 2: so mad at him when he wouldn't be right about
- 58:14Speaker 2: the weather. And he's like, listen, it's not an exact
- 58:17Speaker 2: I can't tell you exactly what's going to happen, but
- 58:19Speaker 2: I can give you based on all the indicators, all
- 58:21Speaker 2: the knowledge, all the so I would imagine here you
- 58:23Speaker 2: are and now it's ESPN bet Live. You guys have
- 58:26Speaker 2: changed in like five or six days ago. Guys changed it, right,
- 58:28Speaker 2: like rebranded it.
- 58:29Speaker 7: Yeah, we launched the book. Yeah on Tuesday, So ESPN
- 58:33Speaker 7: bet now you can go to the app and you
- 58:34Speaker 7: can make bets. The TV show rebranded last Friday. It
- 58:37Speaker 7: went from ES it went from Daily Wager to ESPN
- 58:40Speaker 7: bet Live. So that's all rolling out this month. Yeah.
- 58:42Speaker 2: I love Daily Wager, but now it's ESPN bet Live.
- 58:45Speaker 2: So to make sure audience knows that's that. But are
- 58:47Speaker 2: people ever mad at you if you're like, I feel
- 58:49Speaker 2: pretty good about this game and then maybe it doesn't
- 58:51Speaker 2: happen like you think. Are your buddies like Joe that
- 58:54Speaker 2: you're this freaking specialist?
- 58:56Speaker 7: Oh oh, are you kidding me? First of all, if
- 58:58Speaker 7: you get it right general, everyone goes, well, yeah, of
- 59:01Speaker 7: course you got it right. I knew that too. If
- 59:03Speaker 7: you get it wrong, that's where it's all on you.
- 59:06Speaker 7: Last night, it's a perfect example. Maction college football really
- 59:10Speaker 7: liked Western Michigan plus the four and a half. They
- 59:12Speaker 7: lost twenty four to nothing. Terrible result, and you wake
- 59:16Speaker 7: up and the mentions let you know it. The thing is,
- 59:18Speaker 7: what are you gonna do. Are you gonna dwell in that?
- 59:21Speaker 7: Are you gonna let that stuff bother you? No? You
- 59:23Speaker 7: got to sit there and realize, Look what went wrong
- 59:25Speaker 7: with this game. Was it my process that was flawed?
- 59:28Speaker 7: Or did I have a good process? Did I get
- 59:30Speaker 7: a good number and I just ended up getting a
- 59:32Speaker 7: bad result? You work through it, You constantly strive to
- 59:34Speaker 7: get better with it. You got to understand you're not
- 59:36Speaker 7: gonna go one hundred percent. That's the one thing a
- 59:38Speaker 7: lot of people they might see you're making six picks,
- 59:41Speaker 7: they jump on one of them, it loses, they get mad.
- 59:43Speaker 7: But if you went four and two, what are you
- 59:45Speaker 7: supposed to do there?
- 59:46Speaker 1: Right?
- 59:46Speaker 7: Like, long term, you're just trying to focus on getting
- 59:49Speaker 7: the best numbers and putting yourself in the best possible
- 59:52Speaker 7: position to win.
- 59:53Speaker 2: So here's what I'll do. If I'm gonna a losing streak,
- 59:56Speaker 2: and that happens from time to time, I'll be honest
- 59:57Speaker 2: with you. I will bet but a heavy just to
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: break the streak. I will bet a heavy favorite money line,
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: and I really won't make much money, but I'll be
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: able to flip that momentum. In my mind, right, I
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: believe this is a momentum based sport betting. Yes. And
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: so the problem is I did this this last week
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: where I bet Buffalo. I bet pretty heavy on Buffalo
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: just to win, just to win, cause they were the
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: heavy favorite. They freaking lost. When that garbage happens there,
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: it makes me not want to bet for a whole
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: other Like six hours.
- 1:00:29Speaker 7: Had you thought so when you're looking for the old slumpbuster,
- 1:00:33Speaker 7: it's only gonna be a favorite, right, You're just gonna
- 1:00:35Speaker 7: play the money line favor.
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: I'm just trying to get a W. I've had so
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: many l's. I just need a W. And that's what
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: I was doing with Buffalo this past week. And I
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: was like, you know what, because I was like, I'll
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: put a hundred on it, and then I'm like, you
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: screw it, the Buffalo's gonna win that. I'm also put
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: way more up so I can at least make a
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: little bit. Oh my god, what an.
- 1:00:50Speaker 7: Ugly, stupid game.
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: They end up firing the offensive coordinator Dorsey afterward, But
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: that to me was a sure bet. There's no such
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: thing as a sure bet. You have any sure bets
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: that you were so sure about that didn't work out
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: for you?
- 1:01:02Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean most recently. It's probably it might not
- 1:01:04Speaker 7: be the it's probably not the worst one, but it's
- 1:01:06Speaker 7: the most recent one was Tyson Fury and Francis and Ganu.
- 1:01:09Speaker 7: Right like Tyson Fury is supposed to be the biggest,
- 1:01:13Speaker 7: baddest boxer on the planet, Francis and gan who is
- 1:01:16Speaker 7: not a boxer. My mindset is saying, well, I've got
- 1:01:19Speaker 7: a great boxer against a guy who doesn't box. I
- 1:01:22Speaker 7: think the great boxer should win that fight. So I
- 1:01:24Speaker 7: go out there and I'm not gonna lay, you know,
- 1:01:26Speaker 7: minus eighteen hundred because it's boxing. One shot goes the
- 1:01:29Speaker 7: wrong way and I'm gonna be in a tough spot
- 1:01:32Speaker 7: like we're just talking about. But I did go heavy
- 1:01:34Speaker 7: on Fury to win that fight by a stoppage. Whether
- 1:01:36Speaker 7: it's Kotko or DQ, that's a prop you can play.
- 1:01:40Speaker 7: So I end up betting that he gets knocked on
- 1:01:42Speaker 7: his ass early in that in that fight, and then
- 1:01:45Speaker 7: you can tell very quickly he didn't take it seriously
- 1:01:48Speaker 7: and he wasn't in great shape, and I just watched
- 1:01:50Speaker 7: that money go bye bye. So I thought that knockout
- 1:01:52Speaker 7: was as close to a shirt thing as you're gonna find,
- 1:01:54Speaker 7: and it was anything but.
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: And that was a decision, right, you know the decision.
- 1:01:58Speaker 7: He wont a very tight this yeah contested decision.
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: Yeah, it looked like to me lost the fight, But
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: I get it. Listen, boxing protects their jewels for sure, Eddie.
- 1:02:07Speaker 3: Yeah, so Joe, So do you hear about these sharks
- 1:02:11Speaker 3: that live in Vegas? Is it possible to have a
- 1:02:14Speaker 3: long career as a gambling shark or is it just
- 1:02:17Speaker 3: short lived?
- 1:02:18Speaker 7: Yeah? No, there's I moved there in twenty eleven. I
- 1:02:22Speaker 7: was living in Allentown, Pennsylvania, which is where I'm from,
- 1:02:25Speaker 7: and I was writing for a football website and I
- 1:02:28Speaker 7: wanted to write about sports betting. I had been doing it.
- 1:02:31Speaker 7: I always love betting. I didn't know anything about it
- 1:02:33Speaker 7: anything at all. So I decided, you know what, I'm
- 1:02:36Speaker 7: packing up. I had no life, no girlfriend, nothing, I'm
- 1:02:38Speaker 7: living at home. I had virtually no money. I had
- 1:02:41Speaker 7: a two thousand dollars credit card that was maxed out.
- 1:02:44Speaker 7: I said, I'm going to move to Vegas. I'm going
- 1:02:45Speaker 7: to get to know all the bookmakers in town. I'm
- 1:02:47Speaker 7: going to get to know all the professional betters in town.
- 1:02:49Speaker 7: I'm going to learn how this works. And one day.
- 1:02:51Speaker 7: If it gets legalized, maybe I'll have a shot at
- 1:02:53Speaker 7: working for a bigger network. A lot of things happen
- 1:02:56Speaker 7: in between, but it eventually does lead to that. But
- 1:02:59Speaker 7: the point is when I out there, I was meeting
- 1:03:01Speaker 7: as many of these guys as I possibly could. Some
- 1:03:04Speaker 7: of them you can obviously find on Twitter social media.
- 1:03:06Speaker 7: They're also out there promoting their stuff. They're making money
- 1:03:09Speaker 7: that way. Some of them love to operate in the shadows.
- 1:03:12Speaker 7: But the thing is they do this for a living.
- 1:03:14Speaker 7: I was in a meeting once. I don't think they
- 1:03:16Speaker 7: do it anymore, but it was called the Tuesday Meeting.
- 1:03:18Speaker 7: During football season, every Tuesday, at a specific restaurant, fifteen
- 1:03:23Speaker 7: guys in the industry would get together and they'd go
- 1:03:25Speaker 7: around the table for three hours talking about every college
- 1:03:28Speaker 7: football game and every pro football game, and they'd be
- 1:03:31Speaker 7: sharing notes. And I remember a guy in that meeting
- 1:03:34Speaker 7: when it was done, going to the airport, getting on
- 1:03:37Speaker 7: a plane flying an hour and a half north to Reno,
- 1:03:41Speaker 7: specifically to bet one game. Because the point spread at
- 1:03:45Speaker 7: a sportsbook in Reno was half a point better than
- 1:03:48Speaker 7: any sports book in Vegas, it was worth it to
- 1:03:50Speaker 7: him to get on a plane fly to Reno and
- 1:03:52Speaker 7: bet up there for that half point. That's the type
- 1:03:56Speaker 7: of mindset and discipline you have to have if you're
- 1:03:58Speaker 7: gonna win long term.
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: That's crazy. Yeah, before social media and the ability to
- 1:04:03Speaker 2: sell or have people subscribe to you, I think it'd
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: be really hard to make money because you're only actually
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: making money by well betting or beating people up.
- 1:04:12Speaker 7: Ah with the betting. It's there's a couple things that
- 1:04:16Speaker 7: come into it. There are guys that are really good
- 1:04:19Speaker 7: at understanding that the point spreads are off. Whether it's
- 1:04:22Speaker 7: golf is becoming very popular, whether it's football point spreads,
- 1:04:28Speaker 7: hockey money lines, whatever it may be. There are guys
- 1:04:31Speaker 7: that are really good with their models in terms of
- 1:04:34Speaker 7: finding that the numbers that are off. The thing is
- 1:04:37Speaker 7: they also need outs and they need to be able
- 1:04:39Speaker 7: to get down large amounts of money, and that's a
- 1:04:42Speaker 7: game within a game. You know a lot of these guys.
- 1:04:44Speaker 7: Once you get good at this, sports books will either
- 1:04:47Speaker 7: ban you or limit you. Not all of them, but
- 1:04:50Speaker 7: a lot of sports books will say, you know what,
- 1:04:51Speaker 7: you're too good for us. We don't want you playing here.
- 1:04:53Speaker 7: It's like guys that know how to count cards as
- 1:04:56Speaker 7: soon as a casino understands you're gonna beat them at blackjack,
- 1:04:59Speaker 7: They're going to ask to leave, They're not gonna let
- 1:05:01Speaker 7: you play, so you need to be able to get
- 1:05:03Speaker 7: that action down. Billy Walters, who just released a book,
- 1:05:07Speaker 7: one of the most famous sports betters of all time.
- 1:05:09Speaker 7: There was a whole network of beards, individuals who would
- 1:05:13Speaker 7: never be looked at or second guest placing a two
- 1:05:17Speaker 7: hundred and fifty thousand dollars wager because they might be
- 1:05:19Speaker 7: a celebrity, they might be a famous movie star, something
- 1:05:23Speaker 7: of that nature. So the sportsbooks would allow it. Billy
- 1:05:25Speaker 7: would partner with these individuals. You know, there's a book,
- 1:05:27Speaker 7: Michael Koenik wrote the book, The Smart Money. It's basically
- 1:05:30Speaker 7: about that, and there are rumors as to who some
- 1:05:32Speaker 7: of the individuals were, but Hollywood stars that would come
- 1:05:35Speaker 7: in that befriended Billy and they would place bets on
- 1:05:38Speaker 7: his behalf because he wasn't allowed to he was too good.
- 1:05:41Speaker 7: But he needed to get, you know, f one hundred
- 1:05:43Speaker 7: thousand dollars down, so he'd used people like that.
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: That's crazy. Final two questions for Joe, which, by the way,
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: ESPN bet Live, that's what it's called now. If you
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: guys used to watch Daily Wager, which I did, it's
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: now ESPN bet Live. Also Carlon and Joe on ESPN
- 1:05:56Speaker 2: Radio Midday. Okay, final two questions. If someone like Taylor
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: Swift or specifically Taylor is at a game, and I
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: know there probably aren't a lot of betters who are
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: Taylor fans, I don't think that vin diagram is a
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: massive circle coverage.
- 1:06:09Speaker 7: Could that ever.
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: Change a line though, because everybody's like, let's go bet
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: for Taylor. Where it would actually move it a half
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: point or a point.
- 1:06:14Speaker 7: Points spreads highly unlikely. Props, Yes, and we've seen this
- 1:06:20Speaker 7: with Travis Kelce. Props. His number says receiving your yardage total.
- 1:06:24Speaker 7: I mean, don't quote me on this, but it might
- 1:06:26Speaker 7: be in the neighborhood of seventy four and a half
- 1:06:27Speaker 7: something like that for a specific game. Once you start
- 1:06:30Speaker 7: hearing that Taylor Swift might be there, you'll see that
- 1:06:33Speaker 7: number generally go up. Whether it's Travis Kelce to score
- 1:06:36Speaker 7: a touchdown, over receptions, over receiving arts, all the positive stuff.
- 1:06:40Speaker 7: You won't see it going the negative. You won't see
- 1:06:42Speaker 7: it going the other way. You'll see it going up
- 1:06:44Speaker 7: for a couple of reasons. Number one, I think sports
- 1:06:46Speaker 7: books know they're going to take more Kelsey money, so
- 1:06:49Speaker 7: they might try to get ahead of it, or they
- 1:06:51Speaker 7: do end up taking a lot of money and they
- 1:06:52Speaker 7: have to adjust as a result. But she's not I
- 1:06:55Speaker 7: haven't seen her effect the point spread, but I have
- 1:06:57Speaker 7: seen her effect props.
- 1:06:59Speaker 2: Hilarious. It's just funny, and I would think, based on
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: he really wants it, So let's go, let's bet the yards.
- 1:07:06Speaker 2: Final question for you, Joe, I.
- 1:07:07Speaker 7: Mean, imagine, imagine if the Chiefs get to the Super
- 1:07:10Speaker 7: Bowl and they're still dating and she's there. Like we
- 1:07:12Speaker 7: already get thousands of prop bets, the amount of Taylor
- 1:07:15Speaker 7: Swift prop bets will have specifically pertaining to her. I
- 1:07:18Speaker 7: can't even imagine. It'll be outrageous.
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: Yeah, that'll be annoying and awesome at the same time.
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: Final question. I know you're a big ten guy, Penn
- 1:07:27Speaker 2: State guy, but I do want to talk about Michigan
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: briefly in that in just the betting space. So Harbaugh
- 1:07:33Speaker 2: is not able to be on the sidelines obviously and
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: be at these games. He can be there for practice.
- 1:07:38Speaker 2: First of all, does that affect the line Secondly, do
- 1:07:41Speaker 2: they ever go like, well, they're probably really mad, so
- 1:07:43Speaker 2: let's make the line even bigger, like emotional points spread.
- 1:07:47Speaker 7: That'll affect the public betters, I think more than it'll
- 1:07:50Speaker 7: affect the sports books. So sportsbooks have their number and
- 1:07:52Speaker 7: then they adjust.
- 1:07:53Speaker 2: You know.
- 1:07:53Speaker 7: The Penn State game came out somewhere around five. They
- 1:07:56Speaker 7: were a five point favorite at Penn State. It went
- 1:07:58Speaker 7: down to four and a half four, but that was
- 1:08:02Speaker 7: more short money coming in because they like Penn State
- 1:08:04Speaker 7: to begin with. It wasn't so much the Harba all
- 1:08:07Speaker 7: news because there were two factors working at play there
- 1:08:10Speaker 7: that favored Michigan. Number one, Harball was there all week
- 1:08:13Speaker 7: to help install the game plan, so it's not as
- 1:08:15Speaker 7: if he wasn't around the team. And number two, he
- 1:08:17Speaker 7: had a self and post suspension the first three games
- 1:08:19Speaker 7: of the season, so they've already been through this. I mean,
- 1:08:22Speaker 7: if there was ever a team that was uniquely qualified
- 1:08:25Speaker 7: to handle playing a game without their coach, it was
- 1:08:27Speaker 7: them because they had done that three times at the
- 1:08:29Speaker 7: beginning of the season. So as it moves forward, I
- 1:08:32Speaker 7: think now that they've proven it against Penn State, you
- 1:08:34Speaker 7: won't see it affect them in Maryland. The Ohio State
- 1:08:37Speaker 7: game is interesting. We have a look aheadline right now,
- 1:08:39Speaker 7: Michigan minus five and a half against Ohio State. Mark
- 1:08:42Speaker 7: that down and then let's see what happens a week
- 1:08:45Speaker 7: from now as the betters get involved in that.
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: But they're never like they're extra mad. Let's make it
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: a little they're so upset.
- 1:08:52Speaker 7: That affected petters, Like like I, as a Penn State grad,
- 1:08:56Speaker 7: knew Penn State was not going to win that game.
- 1:08:58Speaker 7: They just don't win big games. They don't beat all
- 1:09:00Speaker 7: they don't beat Michigan. That's just the jaded Nitney lion
- 1:09:03Speaker 7: in me, and that's my angle on that game. But
- 1:09:05Speaker 7: when you saw that plane land and all the kids
- 1:09:09Speaker 7: on that team started tweeting the word bet yeah, and
- 1:09:11Speaker 7: Tom Brady Bettett, you know that, it's galvanized them. So
- 1:09:15Speaker 7: I don't think the books have taken that into account,
- 1:09:17Speaker 7: but I think a lot of betters like betting Michigan
- 1:09:19Speaker 7: because of that.
- 1:09:20Speaker 2: You guys followed Joe at Joe Fortenbaugh on Twitter. Hey
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: love what you do. You're your great personality. I don't
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: know what you off camera, but you're the best on
- 1:09:29Speaker 2: So congratulations and everything. At ESPN bet Live in ESPN
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: bet and thank you for the time. Joe.
- 1:09:33Speaker 7: Yeah, I appreciate you guys having me. Thanks so much, all.
- 1:09:36Speaker 2: Right, Joe, see you buddy, all right, thanks to Joe
- 1:09:41Speaker 2: Fordenball appreciate that. Let's talk about some odds and stuff
- 1:09:45Speaker 2: real quick, guys. MVP odds ready, yep, do you know them? Ati?
- 1:09:50Speaker 3: No, Who do you think is the favorite MVP in
- 1:09:53Speaker 3: the NFL? The favorite would be probably Jalen Hurts. You're right, okay, Nice.
- 1:10:05Speaker 2: I did not. I wouldn't have gone Jalen Hurts. I
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: don't went Mahomes again. Just prove me, prove otherwise. First,
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: but it's Hurts Boom, Mahomes, second, Lamar third, two of four,
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: Borough five. That's gonna drop significantly. Now you didn't put
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: that on that shut out about Dak.
- 1:10:19Speaker 3: Now just move him up to that spot because I mean,
- 1:10:21Speaker 3: you're Christian McCaffrey plus eighteen hundred?
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: Which team wins? So where's that he didn't make the touchdowns?
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: Which team wins the Super Bowl? Odds? Eddie?
- 1:10:30Speaker 3: Who is the favorite the favorite to win the Super Bowl?
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: Let's go Eagles. Eagles are not the forty nine Ers
- 1:10:38Speaker 2: and the Chiefs are both plus five hundred. Oh wow.
- 1:10:41Speaker 2: The Eagles are plus five fifty, so their second. The
- 1:10:43Speaker 2: Dolphins and Ravens come in third. The Lions and Cowboys
- 1:10:46Speaker 2: of plus one thousand like that that would be two
- 1:10:49Speaker 2: three so six. That's good money. Cinnati plus fifteen hundred,
- 1:10:53Speaker 2: that's gonna drop significantly, and the Jaguars plus two thousand.
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: There you go. Patriots are around there. We didn't have
- 1:11:01Speaker 2: enough room for all the zeros.
- 1:11:03Speaker 3: It's a million dollars to one. That's crazy. I mean,
- 1:11:07Speaker 3: I haven't seen the Browns.
- 1:11:08Speaker 2: What happened since Deshan you know, his shoulders out for
- 1:11:10Speaker 2: the year. Like, what a terrible, terrible, terrible decision they made.
- 1:11:15Speaker 6: And you see they're starting a DTR not PJ.
- 1:11:18Speaker 2: Walker, Yeah, TR down to what do you think that means?
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: Eddie down to run? D TF? Is that where that's
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: going from? Who do you think? Who do you think
- 1:11:30Speaker 2: d TR is? Give him Give them the T, Kevin Thompson,
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: Thompson as a quarterback, Give him the D. Kevin Dorian, Oh,
- 1:11:42Speaker 2: I don't know who is that. Give him the R.
- 1:11:45Speaker 2: Kevin Robinson. I don't know my dad, all the other
- 1:11:50Speaker 2: Thompson Robinson been there all day last night I was
- 1:11:56Speaker 2: watching the Bengals and Ravens and bet anything on the game,
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: watching shows my wife. I don't need to bet just
- 1:12:02Speaker 2: for the sake of betting. But so I stopped watching
- 1:12:04Speaker 2: the games and then I saw that it was going
- 1:12:06Speaker 2: into halftime. I did not see Burrow leave the game.
- 1:12:10Speaker 2: I changed it before he changed it, like I changed
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: a channel. I switched off of Amazon, and we started
- 1:12:17Speaker 2: watching some show called Spy Best Friend or something I
- 1:12:21Speaker 2: don't know, and I look over and the Bengals are
- 1:12:24Speaker 2: plus fourteen and a half at halftime, and they're only
- 1:12:27Speaker 2: down fourteen points, and I'm like, wait, how in the world.
- 1:12:30Speaker 2: So I'm like, oh, I caught it at the right time.
- 1:12:32Speaker 2: Burrow's not gonna lose by this many points.
- 1:12:34Speaker 3: You're like, I'm getting a deal.
- 1:12:35Speaker 2: Let's go. So I throw a thousand dollars on Cincinnati
- 1:12:39Speaker 2: with the points and I'm like, let's go. And then
- 1:12:41Speaker 2: I'm like, well, if I feel like they're going to
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: score these points, they're easily going to cover the fifty
- 1:12:46Speaker 2: and a half. So I'm like, let's go. I'm all in.
- 1:12:50Speaker 2: I'm putting another thousand bucks on the over. We finished
- 1:12:53Speaker 2: the show, I turn it on it ain't Joel Burrow.
- 1:12:57Speaker 2: And I'm like, oh my god, what did I do?
- 1:13:02Speaker 2: And so I text Eddy and I'm like, I'm done.
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: You said I'm an idiot. I didn't even look. I
- 1:13:08Speaker 2: blindly jumped on because I thought Burrow was the quarterback
- 1:13:11Speaker 2: and I would have lost both bets had they not
- 1:13:14Speaker 2: had a miraculous junk touchdown at the very end that
- 1:13:18Speaker 2: allowed me to cover and then allowed me to hit
- 1:13:22Speaker 2: the over. So I won both thousand dollar bets.
- 1:13:25Speaker 3: It's crazy. All on the last drive. This a junk drive.
- 1:13:29Speaker 4: Yeah, a meaningless like a back door junk drive, garbage.
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: Two thousand dollars. That's crazy, dude, it's pretty good. I'm like,
- 1:13:40Speaker 2: it never works out for me that way. And you
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: never bet for the sake of betting. No, it was
- 1:13:44Speaker 2: just random. I just saw I thought, well, these are
- 1:13:48Speaker 2: just great. Let me jump on real quick because Burrow.
- 1:13:49Speaker 2: There's no way Burrow is gonna lose. Then I then
- 1:13:51Speaker 2: I go, oh, that's why I am, because he's not
- 1:13:53Speaker 2: even in the game. Of a couple other things. I
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: have one team in myminator that's left. There were ten
- 1:14:02Speaker 2: thousand entries. It's like a million dollar prize. They're only
- 1:14:05Speaker 2: eight hundred and forty two left right now. Wow, started
- 1:14:07Speaker 2: with ten thousand, over ten thousand. Now they're eight hundred
- 1:14:10Speaker 2: and forty two left. So I have five favorites this
- 1:14:17Speaker 2: week that I can pick from that I haven't used.
- 1:14:18Speaker 2: There are a bunch of underdogs as well. But of
- 1:14:22Speaker 2: the favorites, I can have Washington, who's playing the Giants,
- 1:14:25Speaker 2: I haven't used them yet, Detroit or I find I'm on
- 1:14:33Speaker 2: the list here, Detroit who's playing Chicago. Nine and a
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: half point favorites, Houston, which we talked about earlier. No,
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: the Chargers, which god dang, I don't think they I
- 1:14:45Speaker 2: never have many Packers, or Denver, which they're better, but
- 1:14:49Speaker 2: they're playing Minnesota, right So those are the five favorites,
- 1:14:53Speaker 2: like there are all the other games, all the other
- 1:14:54Speaker 2: teams because also on my list that I could pick
- 1:14:56Speaker 2: any time if I stay live, the Rams, Minnesota, Philadelphia,
- 1:14:59Speaker 2: Green Bay Sincin Now which I didn't pick them now
- 1:15:01Speaker 2: they're dead, Arizona, Pittsburgh, Tennessee, the Jets, Chicago, Carolina, Tampa,
- 1:15:07Speaker 2: Bay Vegas.
- 1:15:08Speaker 3: You saved Philly, huh?
- 1:15:09Speaker 2: I still have Philly left. Yeah, So I'm not gonna
- 1:15:12Speaker 2: pick them this week though, because Philly is they're a
- 1:15:14Speaker 2: dog of the Chiefs and they're playing the Chiefs and
- 1:15:16Speaker 2: I just yeah, so who would you take Lions?
- 1:15:21Speaker 4: Really yeah against the Bears, but Justin Field is back. Yeah,
- 1:15:27Speaker 4: but still they just gotta win, right, not cover, just win, just.
- 1:15:29Speaker 2: Win, Yeah, just win, just win, baby Eddie. Commanders.
- 1:15:33Speaker 3: I think that's what I'm taking Commanders because against the Giants.
- 1:15:36Speaker 3: They're against the Giants, and Commanders, I mean, you don't
- 1:15:39Speaker 3: know how they're gonna I don't know, and they're all
- 1:15:41Speaker 3: all season they're just like all no.
- 1:15:43Speaker 2: But it's a giant I know.
- 1:15:44Speaker 3: But this this week I can say I know, got.
- 1:15:47Speaker 2: It, got it all right. Let's let's walk through them
- 1:15:50Speaker 2: real quick. Weekend preview and c double A. Michigan at Maryland.
- 1:15:55Speaker 2: We feel like Michigan's gonna run with that one. Yeah,
- 1:15:58Speaker 2: we won't do spread. Chattanooga at Alabama, that's an easy
- 1:16:01Speaker 2: game for Alabama. I don't know, might pull going on.
- 1:16:04Speaker 2: The Louisville Miami game is interesting. Miami is a one
- 1:16:07Speaker 2: point favorite. Louisville's a top ten team, super interesting. I
- 1:16:11Speaker 2: haven't seen him after that Notre Dame game, so I
- 1:16:12Speaker 2: don't know. But just they're a top ten team. Yeah,
- 1:16:15Speaker 2: and they're a point underdog. Yeah, the team with four
- 1:16:19Speaker 2: team Yeah.
- 1:16:20Speaker 3: And but we've talked about this, like when when the
- 1:16:22Speaker 3: odds are like that, like, yes, they know something's up.
- 1:16:25Speaker 2: Florida State playing North Alabama, there'll be nothing there. Georgia
- 1:16:28Speaker 2: and Tennessee is an interesting game that might be the
- 1:16:31Speaker 2: one of the games of the week here, although I
- 1:16:32Speaker 2: think that Georgia will probably hand elite put it to them.
- 1:16:35Speaker 2: But Tennessee got embarrassed last week. Yeah, so that would
- 1:16:37Speaker 2: be a reason. I think they could come out. They're
- 1:16:39Speaker 2: gonna get mad. Maybe you see drink witz uh half
- 1:16:43Speaker 2: after the game, shaking hands. Yeah, like we're staying on business. Yeah.
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: I liked it. I wouldn't have liked it as my team,
- 1:16:49Speaker 2: but I liked it. It's fun. Yeah, Ohio State's gonna
- 1:16:52Speaker 2: what Minnesota Oregan's gonna whoop bearers on a state that's
- 1:16:54Speaker 2: not a game. The Washington Oregon State game is probably
- 1:16:56Speaker 2: the other contender for the game of the week, which
- 1:16:58Speaker 2: I think right now it looks like it's two point five.
- 1:17:01Speaker 2: I think Washington runs with it. I'm taking Washington, even
- 1:17:03Speaker 2: though there's supposedly a dog Texas Iowa State, Texas should
- 1:17:06Speaker 2: win that. Missouri and Florida, that's one of those games
- 1:17:08Speaker 2: that I could definitely see Florida winning, even though they're
- 1:17:12Speaker 2: not that good.
- 1:17:12Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm surprised Missouri's eleven point favorites. Now, it's like
- 1:17:15Speaker 4: everyone's on that train.
- 1:17:16Speaker 2: Yeah. And then Kansas State and Kansas is a good game.
- 1:17:18Speaker 2: They're both top twenty five teams. They're in Kansas. I
- 1:17:20Speaker 2: feel like Kansas State hopefully win's that. Let's go baby
- 1:17:25Speaker 2: and covers Ema. Thank you NFL preview. You guys want
- 1:17:28Speaker 2: to pick the games, let me did last time real quick?
- 1:17:30Speaker 2: All right? Yeah, we talked about the losing the one. Yeah,
- 1:17:32Speaker 2: last bib did we paid up? He paid up? Last person?
- 1:17:35Speaker 2: Who are finished? Last? Gotta pay an extra ten dollars?
- 1:17:37Speaker 2: Good to go Steelers and Browns. I go first. God,
- 1:17:43Speaker 2: the Steelers suck and they keep winning. I'm gonna even
- 1:17:47Speaker 2: the Browns are the favorite. That's crazy. I'm still gonna
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: go with the Steelers.
- 1:17:50Speaker 3: Steelers terrible tell Steelers, Yep, Steelers, Okay.
- 1:17:54Speaker 2: So no, nothing lost the man, all right? Bears and
- 1:17:56Speaker 2: Lions read h I'm gonna go Lions. Lions on Lions.
- 1:18:03Speaker 3: We just picked the same team, so nobody loses.
- 1:18:05Speaker 2: I like it.
- 1:18:06Speaker 3: I'll go with the Bears, oh, even though they're big,
- 1:18:10Speaker 3: dog getting cute.
- 1:18:12Speaker 2: I hear you. Chargers and Packers Eddie, Oh gosh.
- 1:18:19Speaker 3: I don't know why I keep believing in Jordan Love.
- 1:18:21Speaker 3: But give me the Chargers. I'm done with that. Oh
- 1:18:23Speaker 3: you're done with it? Okay, Packers for me?
- 1:18:25Speaker 2: Chargers Packers, Raiders and Dolphins Yahn, Dolphins read Dolphins, Eddie, Dolphins.
- 1:18:37Speaker 2: Giants and commanders want commanders, commanders come in. Everybody on
- 1:18:40Speaker 2: that one. Okay, Cowboys and Panthers, anybody not a cowboy.
- 1:18:45Speaker 2: We're all staying on that one.
- 1:18:46Speaker 3: I mean we're all fans now, so Titans and Jaguars,
- 1:18:50Speaker 3: Jags for meag all Jags Yep.
- 1:18:52Speaker 2: Okay, we'll see. There's only a few games you gotta
- 1:18:54Speaker 2: keep track of here. Yeah, I know. Bucks and forty
- 1:18:57Speaker 2: nine Ers read. I'm gonna go forty nine Ers. Niners. Yeah.
- 1:19:02Speaker 2: J What are you doing? Oh man, you're a bigger
- 1:19:05Speaker 2: guy though. The Jets and Bills. Anybody going Jets? No, Hey,
- 1:19:16Speaker 2: I'll go Jets. Okay, I'm going Bill gonna.
- 1:19:18Speaker 6: Be cute, I'll go I'll go Jets.
- 1:19:21Speaker 2: Okay, let's go. Let's go Seahawks and Rams Seahawks at
- 1:19:23Speaker 2: one point, favorite Seahawks and Rams. I're going Seahawks. That
- 1:19:27Speaker 2: Stafford's back though, Yeah, I know where are they playing
- 1:19:30Speaker 2: La Ram? There'll be more Seahawks fans.
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: I know.
- 1:19:34Speaker 2: I'm Seahawks, Rams, Eddie.
- 1:19:37Speaker 3: Let's go Seahawks.
- 1:19:38Speaker 2: Yeah, give me Seahawks. And then finally Vikings and Broncos.
- 1:19:43Speaker 2: Josh Dobbs, Baby, Yeah, Vikings, Viking, Vikings, Vikings. I'll go
- 1:19:48Speaker 2: Bikings too. It's only a few games to keep up
- 1:19:49Speaker 2: with there, Okay? Cool? And our final segment, we call
- 1:19:55Speaker 2: this by the numbers. Number one the jersey number of Tua, who,
- 1:20:00Speaker 2: by the way, debut a new hairstyle this week. Have
- 1:20:01Speaker 2: you seen it? He's rocking the braids? Oh? People say
- 1:20:05Speaker 2: it looks like Drake. I thought to myself, what if
- 1:20:06Speaker 2: I come back after Thanksgiving in my hair is in braids?
- 1:20:10Speaker 2: Think please do that? I would love that. Here you go.
- 1:20:12Speaker 2: Number two touchdown score by Gus Edwards last night as
- 1:20:16Speaker 2: the Ravens beat the Bengals, Are they the AFC favorite?
- 1:20:19Speaker 2: In your mind? I still go? Kansas City? Is you
- 1:20:22Speaker 2: got to be the man? You gotta beat the man.
- 1:20:25Speaker 2: But I do think they can win it. But I
- 1:20:27Speaker 2: don't think they're the favorite. But they're running three running
- 1:20:29Speaker 2: backs now Baltimore is, yeah, which is pretty Gus Dwars
- 1:20:32Speaker 2: is basically the goal line back. But are they the favorite?
- 1:20:36Speaker 2: Anybody think that Baltimore is the favorite in their mind? Okay,
- 1:20:39Speaker 2: are they close? Yeah? Yeah, they're right there. Number three
- 1:20:42Speaker 2: games that Jim Harball will officially be suspended from the
- 1:20:44Speaker 2: sideline of Michigan because he's accepted as punishment, he'll miss
- 1:20:47Speaker 2: Maryland and Ohio State. But I also feel like he
- 1:20:50Speaker 2: was involved in both doing it and the punishment, Like
- 1:20:53Speaker 2: you got to kind of pick as punishment. It's like
- 1:20:55Speaker 2: go pick your switch and you go pick it and
- 1:20:56Speaker 2: you get what buy it. I feel like you got
- 1:20:58Speaker 2: to pick a switch in that. The number four the
- 1:21:01Speaker 2: current Saints seed. If the playoffs started today, they'd be
- 1:21:04Speaker 2: a four seed in the playoffs. Wow. Five and five shocking.
- 1:21:08Speaker 2: What's the Saints ceiling first round loss? Yeah, oh they're out,
- 1:21:14Speaker 2: So your their ceiling is getting there? Getting there? Yeah? Yeah,
- 1:21:17Speaker 2: I think their ceiling could be winning one game really well.
- 1:21:20Speaker 6: The good thing is they will get it at home
- 1:21:21Speaker 6: because they're gonna win the division.
- 1:21:23Speaker 2: I agree. If they win the division, so I say
- 1:21:25Speaker 2: they can win one game. So what's the ceiling, Eddie.
- 1:21:27Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm with you, guys. I think they get in,
- 1:21:29Speaker 3: but they lose the first game.
- 1:21:31Speaker 2: The number five the max number of games Arkansas can
- 1:21:33Speaker 2: win if they win out, which sucks. I f IU
- 1:21:37Speaker 2: this week and Mazoo after that question is well they
- 1:21:40Speaker 2: have a new coach. I'm thinking no, now that they're
- 1:21:42Speaker 2: not gonna fire them. This really my intel says he'll
- 1:21:45Speaker 2: get another one more year, okay, and I'm good with that.
- 1:21:50Speaker 2: It's not like they're signing him a new five year deal.
- 1:21:52Speaker 2: I'm good with one. I'm fine with either way. I
- 1:21:54Speaker 2: don't want to see him fired. Honestly, I think we
- 1:21:56Speaker 2: need a little stability, even if it has not been
- 1:21:58Speaker 2: fortunate fortunate for us last couple years. Is kJ a senior,
- 1:22:02Speaker 2: he could play another year if he wanted to, Okay,
- 1:22:04Speaker 2: because of COVID, I don't know if he's going to,
- 1:22:06Speaker 2: but I'm going to say now, I don't think they're
- 1:22:09Speaker 2: going to hire a new coach from what I'm hearing,
- 1:22:11Speaker 2: but I heard differently earlier in the week. So the
- 1:22:14Speaker 2: number six six months from now, the PGA Championship at Valhalla.
- 1:22:18Speaker 3: We played there, we did, and they talked about that
- 1:22:21Speaker 3: the whole time we were there.
- 1:22:22Speaker 2: The number seven Texas ranking in the latest College Football Poll.
- 1:22:26Speaker 2: Will this be their best chance to make the playoff
- 1:22:28Speaker 2: since they're gonna head the SEC next year? I say yes, yes,
- 1:22:33Speaker 2: I don't know. I think it's a lot harder next
- 1:22:35Speaker 2: year for them. Sure. Big twelve is where you got
- 1:22:37Speaker 2: to be right now, be perfect, Beau. It's the hard
- 1:22:40Speaker 2: our our team could win that. The bybone show, suit
- 1:22:44Speaker 2: up and win the Big twelve. Number eight the number
- 1:22:46Speaker 2: of losses the Patriots have heading into their bye week
- 1:22:49Speaker 2: on a scale of one to eight. Eight being the hottest,
- 1:22:51Speaker 2: How hottest Bill Belichick's seat right now? Kevinnar, the Patriots fan, go.
- 1:22:54Speaker 4: I'm gonna go with the six. It's hot, but it's
- 1:22:58Speaker 4: still Bill Belichick.
- 1:22:59Speaker 2: Everybody's act like he's already going to like Washington next year. Yeah,
- 1:23:02Speaker 2: I go, I like Alex six. Yeah, you're the expert there.
- 1:23:04Speaker 2: We'll go with that. Over under The number is nine
- 1:23:08Speaker 2: for the amount of times Taylor will be shown during
- 1:23:09Speaker 2: the Eagles at Chiefs. Ooh over over overnight. I'm gonna
- 1:23:14Speaker 2: go under under nine. Yeah, I think she'll be mentioned
- 1:23:16Speaker 2: a bunch, but I don't think she'll be shown. I
- 1:23:17Speaker 2: think she'd be shown probably like one and a half
- 1:23:19Speaker 2: times a quarter. What did I read?
- 1:23:22Speaker 3: I read that she that Oh, Kelsey's meeting her family
- 1:23:26Speaker 3: now like parents?
- 1:23:27Speaker 2: Yeah? Is that it? The parents are meeting their parents.
- 1:23:30Speaker 3: Oh, the both parents are meeting each other.
- 1:23:32Speaker 2: Hey, that's a big step. And then number ten the
- 1:23:34Speaker 2: Jersey number of the best players in soccer. Who's the
- 1:23:37Speaker 2: best wide receiver to wear number ten the last ten years?
- 1:23:39Speaker 2: Tyreek Cooper Cupp or de Andre Hopkins Tyreek Hill? I
- 1:23:45Speaker 2: want to say Tyreek, but DeAndre. Man, I'm gonna go
- 1:23:48Speaker 2: Cooper Cup. I like it just from production. Sure when
- 1:23:51Speaker 2: they won a Super Bowl with his production. So I'm
- 1:23:54Speaker 2: gonna go with that. All right, there you go. Do
- 1:23:56Speaker 2: we need to do our promise? Yes?
- 1:23:58Speaker 7: Promise is promm?
- 1:23:59Speaker 2: Does mine in already? No? Okay? Cool? All right, that's
- 1:24:03Speaker 2: so our promises them. We'll get the heck out of here.
- 1:24:04Speaker 2: Read us to pay for one. But you have a
- 1:24:05Speaker 2: broken promise? Now, okay, all right, let's get it. How
- 1:24:09Speaker 2: about Eddie go first?
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: Oh?
- 1:24:11Speaker 2: Man, you know me?
- 1:24:12Speaker 3: The Cowboys ten and minus ten and a half at Carolina.
- 1:24:16Speaker 3: I promise you, guys, we're on a roll. Just keep
- 1:24:19Speaker 3: rolling with the Cowboys.
- 1:24:20Speaker 2: Reid promise you something.
- 1:24:21Speaker 6: Yep, that's the same one.
- 1:24:22Speaker 2: I'm going with somebody. It's been me for like a
- 1:24:27Speaker 2: few weeks. Okay, so that's that's reads. Okay, go ahead, Kevin.
- 1:24:30Speaker 4: This one scares me. We've talked about it. But I'm
- 1:24:32Speaker 4: gonna go with the Steelers plus one against the Browns.
- 1:24:36Speaker 4: That's that defense is gonna tear up DTR.
- 1:24:38Speaker 2: And I'm gonna go with because you are, oh got
