- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, guys, here we are last break of the
- 0:02Speaker 1: day on this Thursday. It's been a great day. It's
- 0:05Speaker 1: been a fun day. Thank you guys for listening. As always, Junior,
- 0:09Speaker 1: you have a question to take us out.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Yeah, let's talk about this all. I want to get
- 0:14Speaker 2: your insight on something about becoming a better person, the intent.
- 0:19Speaker 2: You know, I know you always talk about you. Weren't you,
- 0:21Speaker 2: weren't this person you are today? And what was the
- 0:24Speaker 2: process of you evolving into the Steve Harvey that you
- 0:27Speaker 2: are today versus the Steve Harvey that you are were
- 0:30Speaker 2: back then.
- 0:34Speaker 3: It was a series of mistakes. It's a series of
- 0:40Speaker 3: mistakes repeated, not not the same mistake, but a series
- 0:47Speaker 3: of mistakes. And I think the average person doesn't understand
- 0:50Speaker 3: that that, you know. I mean, let's take for example,
- 0:55Speaker 3: we as parents. You know, we get so mad at
- 0:57Speaker 3: our kids for making mistakes, but we often forget we
- 1:01Speaker 3: made all of them. We did the same thing. You know,
- 1:06Speaker 3: how could you I told you? Yeah, I know you
- 1:09Speaker 3: told them. But they still have to make the mistakes.
- 1:15Speaker 3: I'm so sick of you out here. Just keep messing up.
- 1:19Speaker 3: They have to make the mistakes. Now, there are some
- 1:23Speaker 3: kids who make more mistakes than others, but that's usually
- 1:27Speaker 3: because they trying more stuff than others, and and and
- 1:32Speaker 3: a lot of their mistakes that you make, that your
- 1:35Speaker 3: children make, that I made well because I was in
- 1:39Speaker 3: the process of becoming who I am. All of these
- 1:45Speaker 3: mistakes shape you because that they're not they're lessons. Every
- 1:53Speaker 3: time you make a mistake, it's a lesson. It's called experience.
- 2:00Speaker 3: There's a saying that says experience is priceless. It's a shame.
- 2:06Speaker 3: You have to pay for it with your youth. All
- 2:10Speaker 3: of who we are today cost us our youth. That's
- 2:16Speaker 3: the price we all pay. We pay for maturity, we
- 2:20Speaker 3: pay for wisdom, we pay for understanding, we pay for knowledge,
- 2:26Speaker 3: all of it. The price is our youth. I can't
- 2:32Speaker 3: tell you how many times we've all said, if I
- 2:34Speaker 3: only knew then what I know now, I wouldn't have
- 2:39Speaker 3: done this. I would it should have could have been that,
- 2:43Speaker 3: done that. Well, you can't know it all then, because
- 2:48Speaker 3: you haven't paid the price. What I want everybody to
- 2:54Speaker 3: understand is you've got to appreciate all of the mistakes,
- 3:05Speaker 3: because whether you want to hear this or not, those
- 3:08Speaker 3: mistakes are shaping you. Those mistakes are molding you into
- 3:13Speaker 3: who you need to become. It's the price you have
- 3:17Speaker 3: to pay. I've noticed that I've made way more mistakes
- 3:26Speaker 3: than a lot of people I know. Well, I've tried
- 3:31Speaker 3: a lot of more things too, now I've been putting
- 3:36Speaker 3: it in. Man. I've also noticed that I seem to
- 3:42Speaker 3: have a lot more recorded losses than people I know.
- 3:49Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying. I was talking with one
- 3:50Speaker 3: of my buddies last year, and you know, he's on
- 3:56Speaker 3: Facebook a lot and all this here, and you know
- 3:58Speaker 3: he's retired or one of my dear friends. He said, Man,
- 4:04Speaker 3: I don't know how you did it. He said, Man,
- 4:07Speaker 3: the stuff that they say about you that I know
- 4:10Speaker 3: ain't true because I'm a friend of yours. He said,
- 4:13Speaker 3: I don't know how you deal with that, because I've
- 4:18Speaker 3: had to deal with it because it is a part
- 4:21Speaker 3: of who I have become. When you famous, man, you
- 4:27Speaker 3: open to people's opinion about you that you don't even know.
- 4:33Speaker 3: And that's both ways, whether they love you, really appreciate you,
- 4:37Speaker 3: or they can't stand you. Most people that can't stand
- 4:41Speaker 3: me don't even know me, but they made an opinion.
- 4:49Speaker 3: I think I heard somewhere that poor people talk about
- 4:54Speaker 3: other people. Medium income people talk about events, things that happen.
- 5:05Speaker 3: Poor people talk about other people, and rich people talk
- 5:10Speaker 3: about ideas. And I've just kind of noticed that. But
- 5:19Speaker 3: the poor all they do is talk about other people,
- 5:25Speaker 3: but people who have jobs and careers and families and stuff,
- 5:29Speaker 3: and they talk about events, which ain't a bad thing.
- 5:37Speaker 3: And rich people they always talking about ideas. So what
- 5:42Speaker 3: happens is I started off talking about people, and then
- 5:50Speaker 3: I started talking about events, and then I started realizing, Man,
- 5:54Speaker 3: I want to make some of those events happen. So
- 5:56Speaker 3: I started coming up with ideas. And I've just been
- 6:04Speaker 3: involved in so many events and ideas that it has
- 6:08Speaker 3: caused me to make so many mistakes. But all those
- 6:13Speaker 3: mistakes shaped who I am today, and all of your
- 6:17Speaker 3: mistakes are doing the same thing for you. Don't get
- 6:21Speaker 3: bothered by the mistakes, because they gonna take you somewhere.
- 6:26Speaker 3: If you just keep the faith and keep your head up,
- 6:30Speaker 3: you'll be okay. You're gonna be just fine. Those are
- 6:33Speaker 3: my closing remarks today. Hope you got something from it. Hey,
- 6:36Speaker 3: y'all talk to God today. He would absolutely love, and
- 6:39Speaker 3: I mean love to hear from you. I had a
- 6:42Speaker 3: good talk with him this morning too. Y'all stay in peaceful.
