- 2:30It's been a crazy, crazy weekend.
- 2:32I went to two different parties on Sunday after driving home
- 2:36from Mohican Sanctus, so we went to Salem.
- 2:39Do you like scary movies though? Love them, love them, love.
- 2:44You can call me whatever you want.
- 2:46I'll be the first person to admit it.
- 2:47I'll own it. I don't do scary movies.
- 2:49I don't do haunted houses. I don't do none of that.
- 2:53Really. You don't like the scary movies?
- 2:55I no, no, I I you know what and you like I'll own it I I but I
- 3:01just I've never been been a scary movie person.
- 3:05I. I don't know, I got a movie for
- 3:07all you people, all the fans out there.
- 3:09If you want to see a scary movie or a really good story and weird
- 3:13ending, go check out Weapons. That movie is crazy.
- 3:18That is a crazy movie. It's on HBO right now, HBO Max.
- 3:23It's called Weapons. Their storyline is crazy.
- 3:26The whole thing it kids disappear off the face of the
- 3:30earth. This class disappears and
- 3:32everybody was blaming the teacher on the reasons why the
- 3:35kids disappeared. But it's not it has nothing to
- 3:38do with that. So it it's got so many twist to
- 3:41the story. Go check it out.
- 3:43It's called weapons. It really is good.
- 3:45My friend Ray told me about it. I checked it out.
- 3:48It was creepy. I actually was driving home and
- 3:50listen to it. Yes.
- 3:52I wasn't watching it. I was listening to it all the
- 3:55way home from Atlantic City when I went to see Khalid.
- 3:58It it, it actually is a really, really crazy movie.
- 4:01So I had Britney at the tip of her toes.
- 4:04She couldn't even watch anymore. She fell asleep because she got
- 4:06so creeped out from the movie. It is a really good movie, so go
- 4:10check it out. It's called Weapons.
- 4:12So and no, I was not driving and watching television.
- 4:16OK. For any of the fans out there
- 4:18thinking that I'm doing illegal stuff, I'm not.
- 4:20What happens is to keep my eyes open and I, I tell this to
- 4:23people, you have to find something to pay attention to.
- 4:26Some people listen to music. Music puts me to sleep.
- 4:29I'm a DJ, so I do not listen to music when I'm driving.
- 4:32So what I do is I put on movies and it keeps me up because I'm
- 4:36listening to it. And I don't put on movies that
- 4:39I've already seen because it, you know, my, my mind works in
- 4:44very mysterious ways. So I have to you don't do you
- 4:46don't do like. Podcasts or anything you do
- 4:48movies. Movies I I can't sit and listen
- 4:50to podcasts. They're all horrible.
- 4:52I, I'm just speaking the truth here.
- 4:53What about like books on tape? No, I can't do that.
- 4:56I can't, I, I'm not a reader, OK.
- 4:59And I know everybody tells me it's not technically reading.
- 5:02I know. But it, it is kind of reading.
- 5:04I mean, if you're listening to those audio books, it it's
- 5:08reading, you have some and you get to pick whoever you want to
- 5:11read to you. You can pick up, you can pick
- 5:13Samuel L Jackson to read a story to you.
- 5:15I don't want to hear Samuel L Jackson read a story.
- 5:19If you get some of those dudes, that's a serious like put me to
- 5:22sleep. Like some of those guys could
- 5:23just be a oh, sorry. Global Strips.
- 5:26I can't watch any of that. It's boring.
- 5:29And then everybody tells me, well, go listen to podcasts or
- 5:32go watch. I can't anybody that speaks
- 5:34about sports and and that's all I want to listen to when it
- 5:37comes to podcasts. And I like murder mysteries and
- 5:39serial killers. So I've checked out some of the
- 5:42stuff that goes on YouTube. I listen to some of the
- 5:44documentaries, but I know all the stories about the serial
- 5:47killers. I can write stories about it.
- 5:49Everybody thinks I'm nuts. My friends tell me I'm crazy,
- 5:52but that was something that I was always interested in when I
- 5:55was a kid. If I wasn't going to do anything
- 5:57in sports, I will. I would love to be a detective
- 6:00or an FBI agent, but that never came to fruition.
- 6:03And I, I honestly have no interest in doing that now.
- 6:06But I'm going to tell you this right now.
- 6:07I, I speak to my friend, he's a detective in the city and I give
- 6:11him ideas on how to pick people and, and find people on the
- 6:16streets. I give him ideas and he uses
- 6:18some of my ideas to, you know, use his informants and, and all
- 6:22of all that stuff on some of the movies that I watch.
- 6:24There it is. I'm a killer right now.
- 6:26I, I look like a zombie. I look like a demon over there.
- 6:30Speedy, what do you think about that?
- 6:32Freaky. I I, but you always say I'm a
- 6:34freaky person. Yeah.
- 6:37So I I would be a freaky demon, you know, I don't think you want
- 6:41me, you know, crawling up in your bed or coming under your
- 6:44bed or something like that. What do I call them?
- 6:46The boogity man, The boogie man. Boogie man.
- 6:49The boogie man. Yeah, I.
- 6:51Would be. That's a scary movie too, I
- 6:52think. I didn't think it was scary.
- 6:54I don't. I don't think any horror movies
- 6:57are scary. I actually think some of them
- 6:59are just so funny. I laugh at it, I really do.
- 7:02I'll I'll watch a scary movie and just absolutely die
- 7:05laughing. I'm like, are you kidding me?
- 7:07Is this what's going to scare me in this movie?
- 7:10I'm waiting for it all movie. It takes like 30 or 40 minutes
- 7:15for the the scary part to happen.
- 7:17And I'm like sitting there. I'm like, okay, when's it going
- 7:19to happen? When's it going to happen?
- 7:21It's a build up. And then they have these white
- 7:23noise movies and when they go to sleep you see them get picked up
- 7:27and I'm like, get out of here. What the what are you trying to
- 7:29sell me here? Something I've never seen
- 7:31before. And I've actually seen ghosts
- 7:33for real life. I actually in Massapequa and I'm
- 7:37not going to get into the story, but there is a story that
- 7:40Massapequa was built on an Indian Reservation and it's a
- 7:44town where there's a lot of spooky things that have
- 7:47happened. The House of Horrors is right
- 7:49over there. Amityville, House of Horror,
- 7:50which I think was taken down. I'm not sure.
- 7:52Somebody told me he was knocked down.
- 7:54I, I don't quote me on it, but I was told that it was knocked
- 7:57down. But Massapequa, I used to live
- 8:00there and my sister and me rent, rented a house.
- 8:03She lived on the top and I lived on the bottom.
- 8:05And I used to, well, I was a DJ obviously, but I also managed a
- 8:11gym and I used to travel back and forth.
- 8:13I wouldn't get home until late two, 3:00 in the morning.
- 8:16And I, like I said, I don't want to get into the story because we
- 8:19got a lot to get into today, but I saw a ghost and I could tell
- 8:23you on air or off air. One of these days I'll tell you
- 8:25the full story, but I I sincerely saw one and people
- 8:29don't believe me. I don't care if you don't
- 8:30believe me. Nevertheless, I actually saw one
- 8:34and I was, I don't know. That was the one time I kind of
- 8:38would tell you I almost crapped my pants, but that's all.
- 8:41Another story. Let's go through the NFL.
- 8:43Whip around. No whip, whip, whip around.
- 8:50It's been a long one. Right, Errol, we're going to go
- 8:54through this pretty quickly. There weren't any really.
- 8:57The closest game was The Jets game, which we talked about the
- 9:00top of the show. So we're going to get through
- 9:02this one. First one is the Thursday game,
- 9:04the Chargers all over the Vikings.
- 9:07Carson Wentz played through some pain, apparently, a lot of pain.
- 9:11He's out for the season. Looks like JJ McCarthy will be
- 9:14back next week anyway, but it wasn't particularly close.
- 9:18Another massive effort by the Chargers offense and Justin
- 9:21Herbert and the Dolphins kind of came out of nowhere.
- 9:25Actually. Coach on the.
- 9:27Actually, Wes and Reno, Johnny said.
- 9:30Go dolphins. Go Dolphins.
- 9:32Say we're right. Well, regardless, kind of came
- 9:36out of nowhere. Most people did not see them
- 9:39being good at one point at all this season.
- 9:42And the Falcons just came off of a good win.
- 9:44And the Falcons put up a stink bomb.
- 9:46They lose 34 to 10. Waddle had a long touchdown in
- 9:51that game for the Dolphins. Justin Herbert is a beast.
- 9:55We saw it and and in the first first quarter of the game, he
- 9:59was up and down. He didn't really look good after
- 10:01the first quarter. Justin Herbert took over the
- 10:03game, the weapons that he has and and by the way, he's using a
- 10:08a running back off off the scrap heat.
- 10:11He doesn't even have a running back.
- 10:13None of his starting running backs from the beginning of the
- 10:15season is his running back. Now he got a guy who's like off
- 10:19some other team scrap heed. So it was pretty amazing.
- 10:22Round pickers or fifth or sixth round pick, This guy, the doll
- 10:26that they had and everyone else is a scrappy guy on that rock.
- 10:30Crazy. It was crazy.
- 10:31And, and as far as the Dolphins are concerned, it just tells you
- 10:34and it tells me one thing. The Falcons are not for real.
- 10:37I I know everybody had this love fetish from Michael Pennix and
- 10:41Bijon Robinson. How do you play the Dolphins at
- 10:44home and lose that game? How do you lose that game?
- 10:47Yeah, I was on the bandwagon too.
- 10:49They looked like a top five NFC team for a while when they beat
- 10:51they they beat the Bills. They had a good quality
- 10:53performance. They their only bad loss was to
- 10:55the Panthers. They hung tough with the Bucks
- 10:57and now they just went in the other direction.
- 10:58Ray Morris. In Atlanta.
- 11:01This wasn't even in Miami. This was in Atlanta.
- 11:04And we've, Errol and I have questioned Raheem Morrison as a
- 11:06head coach on many occasions. I'm starting to question their
- 11:08offensive coordinator with Zach Robinson.
- 11:09I thought the Bijan Robinson issue was an Arthur Smith
- 11:12problem. He doesn't want to use them
- 11:13either. This is a Rams Sean Mcvade
- 11:15disciple and they don't know what they're doing on offense.
- 11:17The Vikings, they just need to get healthy.
- 11:18I think they're still tough. But again, Carson Wentz, not the
- 11:21answer. Well, I don't think Carson Wentz
- 11:24is going to be the answer for anybody anytime soon.
- 11:26The Falcons did go with it was banged up.
- 11:31Kirk Cousins did not look very good at all in this game.
- 11:35That offense did not run. Like you said, I don't know if
- 11:38you're going with the back of a quarterback.
- 11:39If it's me, I'm running the ball a lot and I'm giving the ball to
- 11:43that, that playmaker. They didn't do it.
- 11:45That's why they lost. Next set of games, The New
- 11:50England Patriots keep rolling 32 to 13.
- 11:54Over they played the Browns. Should be said Miles Garrett in
- 11:59the loss, 5 sacks, unbelievable performance by that guy.
- 12:05But Drake May, another three touchdowns, another efficient 18
- 12:08of 24282. The guy just keeps lighting it
- 12:12up. It's kind of unbelievable.
- 12:14Trayvion Henderson finally getting it going.
- 12:16The other Ohio State running back, 10 carries, 75 yards in
- 12:20that one. And the Bills, I mean all over.
- 12:23The Did I not tell you about the bills?
- 12:25I knew this was going to be absolute.
- 12:27James Cook, 19, carries, 216 and two touchdowns.
- 12:33No run defense whatsoever in Carolina.
- 12:35I there's nothing to say about the Patriots.
- 12:37They played a lonely, bad Browns team and Miles Garrett, like you
- 12:41said, 5 sacks. That's the only thing that
- 12:43really stood out to me. The Browns stink.
- 12:46I I do believe they'll beat The Jets after their bye week.
- 12:49I I think they're the Browns are better than The Jets are all
- 12:52around. But as far as the Bills are
- 12:54concerned, they needed this win. They needed to dominate the
- 12:56game. Everybody thought that the
- 12:57Panthers were going to be in this game.
- 12:59I was one of very few that thought that the Panthers had
- 13:02any chance in this game. And the fact that they beat them
- 13:05the way they did just tells you why the Bills, if they could
- 13:08figure out how to stop the run, why they're an elite team in the
- 13:11league. I just, I worry about the Bills
- 13:14on stopping the run and now losing Ed Oliver.
- 13:16I think they're in a lot of trouble.
- 13:17Yeah, you wonder if that was the depth of the defensive tackle is
- 13:20a question they had in the draft.
- 13:21That's why they traded up to get a defensive tackle on TJ Edwards
- 13:24in the second round. But Even so, like you're going
- 13:26to trust a bunch of rookies right away to be able to fill
- 13:28the void for Ed Oliver. Milano just came back.
- 13:30How healthy is he? And they had Benford just came
- 13:32back from injury, too. I agree with you.
- 13:34I'm concerned about their defense.
- 13:35They should prioritize at the deadline.
- 13:37And the Browns, it sucks that they're good rookies are
- 13:39actually the ones playing well and they keep getting hurt.
- 13:40Jumpkins and Swessinger their linebacker as well.
- 13:44All right, let's go from these two blowouts to a couple of
- 13:47games better just making people scratch their heads that we're
- 13:50gambling. The Ravens without Lamar
- 13:53Jackson, by the way, they may be fine for how they did some of
- 13:57the Lamar, you know, injury reports during the week, they're
- 14:01saying. Damon Jones.
- 14:02Is 16 no Damon Jones, as far as we know, involved in that 1-2
- 14:08touchdown win with Snoop Huntley at quarterback, Derek Henry, 22
- 14:13touchdowns on the ground and that one some bad decision
- 14:16making by Caleb Williams and that one Roman Doones.
- 14:18A good game over 100 yards, but not enough to beat a depleted
- 14:22Ravens team that was really struggling.
- 14:24And then the Texans beat the 49ers.
- 14:27That Texans defense was all over.
- 14:30Mac Jones heard he was not ready to go in this one yet again.
- 14:35It was close they thought. But no, he gets killed in this
- 14:39game. I'm not surprised about the
- 14:42Ravens. Lamar Jackson and no Lamar
- 14:45Jackson. This is a Raven, Raven team
- 14:47that's underachieved this year. Their defense is not elite, but
- 14:51they have a pretty good offense. They got weapons.
- 14:54I I'm very surprised that the Ravens have the record that they
- 14:57have right now. The Bears are up and coming.
- 15:00Give them another year under that that offense and under Ben
- 15:03Johnson and and Caleb Williams, I think they're going to be fine
- 15:07as far as the Texans are concerned.
- 15:08What a shocker. The 49ers that have been
- 15:11winning, winning, winning, doesn't matter who they're
- 15:13playing. And oh, I, I wanted to send a
- 15:15text to Owen so bad because I was like, what the hell?
- 15:18You, you win all these games and you're, you're bragging about,
- 15:21oh, look at Mac Jones, look at this, look at that.
- 15:23Well, how about this game? The Texans have not looked good
- 15:26over the last couple of weeks. And then they go to, they go to
- 15:30San Francisco and beat you on your own, on your own home turf.
- 15:34What a joke. Yeah, they're we, we, Errol and
- 15:36I, we both picked the Ravens. And one of the main reasons why
- 15:38was the running. The Chicago's had trouble
- 15:40stopping the run this year. They were also down like pretty
- 15:42much their entire secondary in that game, too.
- 15:44They already placed Kyler Gordon on injured reserve and the
- 15:46Ravens were able to make it work.
- 15:48And like you were saying, Fish, Caleb Williams probably had a
- 15:50rough game. They're not a great defense, but
- 15:52they're still a talented enough defense.
- 15:53They weren't going to be this bad forever.
- 15:55I will. I will say something.
- 15:57Anderson, the pass rusher on the Texans, is going to be up for
- 16:00Defensive Player of the Year. He's having an unbelievable year
- 16:03right now. He's as as he's been in the
- 16:05league for three years. This guy was a top for what was
- 16:08he a first? 3rd 3rd overall pick.
- 16:09They and they trade. Traded up.
- 16:11This guy, this guy is the next Miles Garrett in the league.
- 16:15That's how good he is. He is looking like an absolute
- 16:19dude. He's clothes lining people.
- 16:21It's unbelievable. He is awesome.
- 16:24He's going to be up for defensive player of the year,
- 16:26him, Miles Garrett. I mean, he's going to have the
- 16:29opportunity to win it. He's having just as good a year
- 16:32as any. Burns, Bry Burns, yeah, too.
- 16:34Yeah. I don't think Burns is going to
- 16:35win. I think he's going to slow down.
- 16:37I think Burns is going to slow down.
- 16:38I think he'll get into that conversation, but I don't know
- 16:42how anyone's as good as Miles Garrett, to be honest with you.
- 16:44But Speedy, you got this 49ers team that doesn't have an
- 16:50offensive line. They just can't stop a team like
- 16:54the Texans. What?
- 16:55What are they even playing around with?
- 16:57We're getting close to this deadline.
- 16:58Are they going to add or that this is a team that's looking to
- 17:01subtract? They look like they need to make
- 17:04a choice one way or the other. Yeah, they lost this game in the
- 17:06trenches and I I, I I'm not surprised Houston won this game.
- 17:09I told you, Tommy, in the car last week that I said it's going
- 17:12to be a very ugly low scoring game.
- 17:13That 49ers also could not rush the passer in this game against
- 17:16the Texans offensive line. I guess played a little better,
- 17:19but it was saying was one of the worst in the league for a while
- 17:21and they couldn't rush the passer at all.
- 17:23And the Niners offensive line, like, yeah, it's been an issue
- 17:25for them all year. When Houston knows how to game
- 17:27plan for Christian McCaffrey again, Rebecca Ryan's coming
- 17:30from the Kyle Shanahan tree. They just made sure everyone
- 17:33else beat them and no one else could beat them.
- 17:34Very simple as that. Three Iowa State receivers get
- 17:39in the going on that team for the Texans, Hutchinson, but from
- 17:43the couple years earlier and then Noel and Higgins getting to
- 17:47going for that team. That's interesting that they did
- 17:49that. We got a couple more left.
- 17:52These are another couple of blowouts.
- 17:55They finally did it. They benched Spencer Rattler.
- 17:59They couldn't watch it anymore. They brought in Tyler Shuck and
- 18:02guess what, he shucks too. They were terrible.
- 18:06The Buccaneers, they had a a defensive lineman pick six in
- 18:09this game off of Spencer Rattler. 2313 Baker Mayfield
- 18:13didn't have to do anything other than hand it off the third
- 18:16string running backs in this one.
- 18:18And then, as predicted, that Cowboys defense, which looks
- 18:22like Swiss cheese, got shredded by bone.
- 18:25Knicks and the Broncos. 44 to 24 in that. 1/4 touchdowns for
- 18:31Knicks for the second straight game. 111 yards on the ground
- 18:35for Dobbins. Troy Franklin, 6 catches, 89
- 18:37yards to TD's. Who cares about the Buccaneers
- 18:41game? We all knew that was going to
- 18:43happen of the Saints stick. They'll probably beat The Jets,
- 18:47but that's about it as far as the Broncos in the Cowboys.
- 18:50I got a text from the beef that Dak stinks.
- 18:53Okay, and I I'm laughing at it and I'm like, you're going to
- 18:58blame Dak for this. I mean, honestly, the Cowboys
- 19:03ran into a jigsaw puzzle and, and, and the jigsaw puzzle is
- 19:07this Broncos defense. And when they're on the top of
- 19:11their game, they're as good as anybody in the league.
- 19:13They're a top five defense all season long and they're starting
- 19:18to play really good football. And if this offense can play
- 19:22like this, watch out for the Broncos.
- 19:25Yeah, the Broncos offense in the last couple weeks has really
- 19:27picked it up, especially with the passing game.
- 19:29Bonex doing a great job spreading the ball around
- 19:31because teams are actually doing a good job containing Courtland
- 19:33Sutton and he's making those secondary options work a
- 19:35different one every game, kind of like what we were saying
- 19:37about the Colts. Now we'll see what the injury of
- 19:39Patrick Sotani should. He could miss in time, but don't
- 19:41sleep on Riley Moss. Riley Moss had a really good
- 19:44year as a second corner and as long as they can still get that
- 19:47pass rush, they should be able to weather the storm.
- 19:48Well, depending on the schedule that they have.
- 19:50This is the real contender in the AFCI.
- 19:52Think they're ahead of the Bills right now.
- 19:53The way they are, they're probably the second best team
- 19:55behind the Colts and the Buccaneers.
- 19:56They look ugly, but they beat a terrible team.
- 19:59Yeah, Cowboys probably could use, you know, like a really
- 20:01good pass rusher right now off the edge kind of be, oh, wait,
- 20:04they had one of those guys and they got rid of them because
- 20:06they didn't want to win this season.
- 20:08All right, so here we go to the last set of games.
- 20:11The Colts again, Danny Dimes, Jonathan Taylor.
- 20:16Again Jonathan Taylor, 12 carries. 153 yards, 2
- 20:21touchdowns. Daniel Jones 21 and 29272 Three
- 20:24touchdowns. Pittman with a really
- 20:26spectacular one handed behind the body.
- 20:29I I love it. It's rolling off your tongue.
- 20:31Say it again. What?
- 20:32What did Danny done to do what? What?
- 20:34Did he do? It was very good.
- 20:36This team is also one of the worst teams in football, the
- 20:38Titans. We know that I'm just.
- 20:39Saying it was a massacre wasn't close.
- 20:41Colts are 7 and one leading the NFL.
- 20:44Also doing really well are the Green Bay Packers behind Jordan
- 20:48Love's big fourth quarter performance. 3 touchdowns in the
- 20:52fourth. Love gets 360 yards and three
- 20:56touchdowns. 2 to Tucker Craft with 7 catches, 143 at tight
- 21:01end. He's basically a top two top
- 21:03three tight end right now in football and fantasy.
- 21:06The Packers knock off Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers 35 to
- 21:1125. Tucker was unbelievable, Jordan
- 21:14Love was unbelievable, and why not do it right in front of
- 21:18Aaron Rodgers, in front of all the Steeler fans?
- 21:22I was fun to watch. I always knew that Jordan Love
- 21:24was going to be a good quarterback.
- 21:26I think he's starting to make a statement on why everybody
- 21:29believes it now. I don't know if the Packers are
- 21:31contender. I don't think they're better
- 21:33than the Eagles. I think it's going to be very
- 21:35hard for them to get through the Eagles in the playoffs, the way
- 21:38the Eagles, I believe are going to take off in the second-half
- 21:40of the season. But Steelers stink.
- 21:44And I'm going to tell you, you know what looks really old?
- 21:46TJ Watt. He has not look like the same
- 21:50pass rusher and same dominant player at the line of scrimmage
- 21:54this season like he has over the last couple of years.
- 21:56I'm not saying he's not great, but he's not the same player.
- 21:59He got a lot of money in the offseason.
- 22:00He's not. He's a shell of what he was the
- 22:02last two. Years his PFF numbers are down.
- 22:05You know, we checked Micah Parsons last week.
- 22:07He was still ranked number one overall as edge rusher.
- 22:11TJ Watts, 20th overall right now as an edge rusher.
- 22:14So obviously still elite, but not at the heights that we're
- 22:17used to with him. As far as the cults are
- 22:20concerned, not surprised. I've already told you guys the
- 22:24Colts are the best team in the AFC right now, and they're going
- 22:27to stay the best team in the AFC all season long.
- 22:31Best offensive line, top five offensive line in football, top
- 22:34front 7 in football, top secondary in football, top
- 22:38quarterback in football, top wide receivers in football, and
- 22:42the best running back right now in all of football.
- 22:46Jonathan Taylor, I can't say anymore.
- 22:49And by the way, probably Coach of the Year and Steiken right
- 22:52now, so. Yeah, as long as the edge rush
- 22:54and the corners hold up for the Colts, they're going to be a
- 22:56very good team and they're going to be the best team in the AFC
- 22:58all year. The offense, I don't see any
- 22:59flaw and they have everything you want.
- 23:02Even their second receiver spot that was questionable.
- 23:04They have one of each type, so they can just game plan and they
- 23:06took out Tyler Warren and they still made it work.
- 23:08Daniel Jones was still very impressive stretching the ball
- 23:10down the field. The Packers, I agree with you.
- 23:12I think I still have them behind the Rams, Bucks and Eagles in
- 23:15the NFC. But they definitely showed a
- 23:16little more promise on offense a little bit against the Steelers
- 23:19defense that still schematically is good.
- 23:21And Fish, you were talking about TJ Wob having it down here.
- 23:23There's a lot of Steelers fans that want him to be traded next
- 23:25season already. It's crazy to think, OK.
- 23:28Let's ship the music. I want to say something.
- 23:30I want to say something very nicely to all the Giant fans
- 23:34that picked on this man, and I'm going to say it very, very
- 23:37carefully and calmly for all of you guys to hear.
- 23:41If the Giants actually gave Danny Jones, I'm not going to
- 23:46call him Daniel Jones. I'm going to call him Danny
- 23:48Jones. What he was supposed to get all
- 23:51those years, not trade off or not trade off.
- 23:55Let go of Saquon Barkley and maybe draft a guy like Malik
- 23:59Neighbors and gave him weapons. This could be the Giants right
- 24:03now as we speak with the defense they have shame on the New York
- 24:09Giants. That's all I'm going to say.
- 24:10Shame, shame. Go away.
- 24:13You're talking about the Giants defense that gave up 33 points
- 24:15in the fourth quarter to the Denver Broncos.
- 24:18Just saying 2 weeks ago Giant fans were picking on this guy
- 24:21that he's no good, he's not anything.
- 24:23He's, he's garbage. And, and, and, and right now to
- 24:27me, he's been the most consistent quarterback in the
- 24:29NFL for eight weeks. I, I don't know what more you
- 24:33need to, to even watch to understand what this guy is
- 24:37doing right now in the NFL. So I, and, and it's not because
- 24:41he's dating somebody. It's not because of this or that
- 24:44he's putting on a show and he's getting better week by week.
- 24:48So it just tells you that the Giants had a franchise
- 24:52quarterback and didn't use them the right way.
- 24:54So that's all I'm gonna say. All right, ladies and gentlemen,
- 24:59we call this Dial it Up. We interrupt this regularly
- 25:01scheduled hot mix to bring an important news book.
- 25:04We got a big broadcast to do here.
- 25:06We're about to dial it all it. Up All right guys, welcome to.
- 25:14Dial it up round. Sports take segment where we're
- 25:19going to go through some of the stories going on around the
- 25:23league. Errol hasn't seen it.
- 25:25This is going to go to outside of our usual depth, but this is
- 25:29a favorite story of all of us. Brian Kelly, fired by LSU in the
- 25:36fifth year of his 10 year, $100 million contract.
- 25:40They owe him $54,000,000 more on his deal.
- 25:44He was 34 and 14 in over four years in the Bayou.
- 25:48But the Tigers have lost three of their past four games,
- 25:52including falling to Texas A&M 49 to 25 on Saturday.
- 25:56They actually will take on #4 Alabama after a bye doesn't look
- 26:01much more promising out there. They also got rid of their
- 26:03offensive coordinator Joe Sloan, long time Kelly Lieutenant let
- 26:08go on Monday. Kelly, who had more than his
- 26:11share of detractors over the years.
- 26:14And I don't think I even need to guess who I'm going to ask talk
- 26:17about this when I think our intern Jared might have a few
- 26:19things to say about Brian Kelly for his awkward recruiting
- 26:23videos, his fake accents. He did the Pulp Fiction dance
- 26:29with recruits, if you remember. Man, what a weirdo.
- 26:32His other sideline antics. It should be the top job,
- 26:36though, now that he's gone open in college football.
- 26:40Errol. Dial it up well, 54,000,000 is
- 26:45the number guys 54 million dollars that they owe to this
- 26:51man and he took this job really because of the money.
- 26:54I don't think he really wanted this job.
- 26:56He screwed up Notre Dame everywhere he goes he everybody
- 26:59says he's a great coach and all that other stuff.
- 27:02How many national championships does he play for How many
- 27:04national championships has he won?
- 27:07And I understand he had a winning record.
- 27:09It doesn't matter you you're you have one of the best recruiting
- 27:12places in the world in LSU. You can recruit anybody.
- 27:16Malik Neighbors. Look at all the guys.
- 27:17You had a quarterback that decided to not go into last
- 27:20year's draft because you had a chance to win a national
- 27:23championship and you laid out a lousy goose egg this year and he
- 27:26could have been a top five pick. Now he falls out of the top
- 27:30five. He probably falls out of the
- 27:31first round, maybe because of Brian Kelly.
- 27:35To me, the LSU Tigers should have been a lot better than they
- 27:38were this year. They were expected to be a top
- 27:42contending team in that tournament and a top 12 teams in
- 27:45a country. How many wins do they have?
- 27:47How many losses do they have? They have more losses than they
- 27:50do, I believe, of wins. They've been horrible.
- 27:53It's been a, you know, Brian, Brian Kelly.
- 27:56Kelly is an obnoxious piece of you know what everybody would
- 27:59say that about him. He's obnoxious.
- 28:02I watched him on that on that NCAA SEC documentary on Netflix.
- 28:08He's an obnoxious piece. So you know what trash, and I
- 28:11don't care if you're not an LSU Tiger fan or you're not an LSU
- 28:15fan, you know that you can't stand Brian Kelly so a good luck
- 28:20to the LSU Tigers paying him back 54,000,000.
- 28:23I know there's an insurance policy that's going to get paid
- 28:25back at least 1/4 of it. It's not going to make a
- 28:28difference. They're go broke before they get
- 28:31the right guy in place. So I think it's yes, it's the
- 28:34best school it right now, it's the best job available, but who
- 28:38wants it honestly? Yeah, this was I was giddy
- 28:43hearing the news. It kind of played out like AI
- 28:46saw a friend swimming of tweet us that played out like a South
- 28:48American hostage crisis going on of this.
- 28:51Oh, there's now they're meeting with the players tonight.
- 28:55But the coaches were just called in.
- 28:57There's different different things being brought in one
- 28:59after the other. And then finally, the big news,
- 29:02It's been a long time coming. He sucks this.
- 29:05He's been given every resource possible to succeed.
- 29:07He said when he came here, I finally have the resources to
- 29:09win a championship like he didn't, that Notre Dame.
- 29:12And you turn it into an 8 and four team.
- 29:14There are two things an LSU team should always be able to do and
- 29:18that is run the football and defend.
- 29:20They could not do that his entire tenure.
- 29:23And that was all scheme based and lousy scouting and roster
- 29:26construction that really made no sense.
- 29:29And then he responded to all the criticism by constantly blaming
- 29:32other people. The entire time he was.
- 29:34There, like Garrett Nussmeyer called a bad timeout.
- 29:37OK, what's he going to make the make the play call?
- 29:40No, he's going to scream at Garrett Nussmeyer for the entire
- 29:42timeout and then send him right back out there.
- 29:44That's Brian Kelly's coaching style.
- 29:46Absolute clown. Isn't he the one that recruited
- 29:49Matt Tateo? Yes, he wasn't.
- 29:51That was the only time they went to a national championship.
- 29:54That's a. That's a.
- 29:55Brian Kelly. Guy, Yeah.
- 29:57And Jared, Jared, I want to, I want to go on to allude to your
- 29:59point too. This was always known as DB you,
- 30:01cornerback you. For a while, they've not been
- 30:04able to develop good corners. Since then, they've had pass
- 30:06rushers that were very highly touted that have not been able
- 30:08to amount to anything, mainly Harold Perkins being the biggest
- 30:12one. That was supposed to be the
- 30:13maybe the number one pick in a lot of people's like early mock
- 30:15drafts. Yeah.
- 30:17The last year and Save Your Tears legend Keyshawn Booty sat
- 30:21out a whole season of college football because of how much he
- 30:24did not like Brian Kelly. There There's been other players
- 30:27that have really feuded with him.
- 30:28This was a fire that was doomed from the start.
- 30:30And Arrows absolutely right. He took it because of the money.
- 30:32Notre Dame's an independent team, so they're not going to
- 30:34have the same level of resource, even though they're highly
- 30:36touted as an SEC school. You knew the NIL wave was going
- 30:39to come. So all of a sudden he's going to
- 30:41take this job. And where did he get you?
- 30:43OK, you had a couple good offensive season.
- 30:44You had a couple high draft picks, but still losing big game
- 30:46and still not getting anywhere in the SEC.
- 30:48Yeah, this was long overdue. Alright, we're going to move on
- 30:54from Brian Kelly just as fast as LSU did.
- 30:58Here we go. We're going to move into
- 31:00baseball. Look at that.
- 31:03That is the best pitcher in the world and the reports are he is
- 31:07on the move. The Athletics Jim Bowden reports
- 31:10that the Tigers are going to be shopping, likely back-to-back AL
- 31:14Cy Young winner Tarek Schuble at the winter meetings this
- 31:18offseason. Apparently, they are about $250
- 31:22million apart in negotiations, and the Tigers will likely be
- 31:27forced to move on and sell high on their ace.
- 31:32As you expect, the interested teams include all the
- 31:35heavyweights, the Dodgers, the Yankees, the Red Sox, the Mets
- 31:39and the Giants. This is going to be a lot of
- 31:44what's in the news this winter, Errol.
- 31:48I can't believe this story. It just shows you how
- 31:52incompetently stupid this organization really is.
- 31:55Think about it. You have the best pitcher in
- 31:58baseball for the last two years. The guy throws 105 mph in a
- 32:03complete game in the 9th inning this year and you're going to
- 32:07trade him? This guy's going to win the Cy
- 32:09Young again this year and you're going to trade him?
- 32:13It makes absolutely no sense and it just tells you why this
- 32:18organization doesn't know how to hold on to players, not key
- 32:21players. They traded away Justin
- 32:23Verlander, they traded away Max Scherzer.
- 32:25They don't keep away. They don't keep guys there and
- 32:28happy. They had Miguel Cabrera for a
- 32:30significant amount of time, Never won a championship there.
- 32:33I and you, you have Scubal, who everybody makes fun of because I
- 32:37can't pronounce his name. Tarek Scubal.
- 32:39And now you're going to go to the baseball meetings in the
- 32:43offseason, you're going to trade them.
- 32:44And I'm going to tell you this right now, the team that should
- 32:47be absolutely lining up for him is the New York Mets.
- 32:52That is should, that is the team that should be lining up for
- 32:56him. Who cares if you trade away
- 32:58McClain, Tong and any of these guys?
- 33:01You get this guy in your ace. This guy's a shut down pitcher.
- 33:05He's the best pitcher in baseball.
- 33:07You keep one of those or two of those guys, you trade McClain
- 33:10and a bunch of other prospects for him.
- 33:12I would make that deal in a heartbeat to bring in Tarek
- 33:15School. This guy is as good as any
- 33:18pitcher in baseball and I, I think the Yankees and the Red
- 33:21Sox will be interested. But the Mets have the pitching
- 33:24prospects to to make that deal and they have the money.
- 33:27The richest man in baseball. I think the Mets should be
- 33:30absolutely reaching out to the Detroit Tigers at the end of the
- 33:35season. It's a slam dunk for them.
- 33:37Yeah, I was definitely seeing already enough trade rumors.
- 33:39I think the Mets said only Nolan McLean is the only one that's
- 33:42untouchable right now. So everything else could go,
- 33:44even the ones that are on the Major League roster.
- 33:45Beatty Vientos could make that work.
- 33:47Boston's got a rich group of young players too.
- 33:49They could definitely make that work.
- 33:51One team Fish that wasn't on your list that I could
- 33:52definitely see as well as the Cobs.
- 33:54They have I think the 6th best farm system in baseball.
- 33:56They definitely can make a swing.
- 33:57They have another owner that likes to spend money too, so it
- 33:59makes sense. The other thing I want to
- 34:01mention with the contract to the report, I was here, I forget
- 34:03which insider was saying it was that the Tigers offer ten years,
- 34:06600 million. It was the projected offer the
- 34:09day it looks like they're willing to pay up for it.
- 34:12It just maybe it's a Boris thing.
- 34:13Maybe. Going to be a maybe.
- 34:14It's a years thing. I don't really know.
- 34:16Like if they want to extend a 2027 year old pitcher for even.
- 34:19I'm telling 10 years. I'm telling you right now,
- 34:21Speedy, you don't have to speak. I'm telling you right now, Book
- 34:24it. Sell it away, as Christopher
- 34:26Cross always says, and he's going to be sailing away to the
- 34:29New York Mets. I'm telling you, they're the
- 34:32only organization stupid enough to give him 5 to $600 million
- 34:36after giving Juan Soda $700 million last year.
- 34:39I'm telling you, book it. The Yankees, the Red Sox, none
- 34:43of those teams would give him 600.
- 34:45The Mets will, and they would trade away prospects.
- 34:48It's a, it's an absolute slam dunk for the Mets.
- 34:50There's no more to set. He's going to be a Met.
- 34:54Book it. Remember I said this?
- 34:57You happy about that Speedy? He's going to be a met for you.
- 35:02Book it 100% I'm telling you right now.
- 35:05Bet it. I don't care what Vegas has or
- 35:08plus plus minus, whatever the hell they do with the betting
- 35:11betting lines. He will be a New York met.
- 35:14I'm telling you, book it after the baseball meetings.
- 35:17He will be traded to the New York Mets.
- 35:19They got the prospects, they got the money and they got the owner
- 35:22who wants to win desperately. They need a number one and they
- 35:26need a guy that can close in games and complete games.
- 35:29He's the guy. Yeah, I agree.
- 35:31It's their number. It's the team with the biggest
- 35:33need right there at that spot. So here we go.
- 35:36We're moving on to the court and that is Austin Eaves, who
- 35:40dropped 51 points, almost a trick, a triple double without
- 35:45Luca or LeBron on the field, on the court without Luca.
- 35:51He defeated the Lakers, defeated the Sacramento Kings one 27120
- 35:54behind the star turn of forward Austin Reeves, a career high 51
- 36:00points, 11 rebounds, 9 assists. Especially on a night where you
- 36:04don't have Luca, you don't have Braun, you don't have Jackson
- 36:06Hayes. He got to go out there and be
- 36:09big for the team. I wasn't in my head thinking you
- 36:11got to go score 50. It was do whatever you can do to
- 36:15help the team win. He shot 12 of 22, six of 10 from
- 36:18three and went 21 of 22 from the free throw line.
- 36:23Now the big question with this is do the Lakers have a real
- 36:27third banana when LeBron comes back with Luca and Austin
- 36:32Reeves? Errol, dial it up.
- 36:36They got a trade chip and that's all they got.
- 36:39He's not going to be there long. Last year at the trade deadline,
- 36:43the New York Knicks were interested in Austin Reeves and
- 36:45it never happened and never came to fruition because the Knicks
- 36:48weren't willing to trade Mitchell Robertson.
- 36:51I do believe they'll be teams that are interested in a guy
- 36:54that can shoot. Austin could shoot.
- 36:56He's a good perimeter player. He can defend somewhat for for
- 37:00what he can do on on a basketball court.
- 37:03Is he 1/3 type of player? I don't think the Lakers are
- 37:06playoff team. Lucas not going to be healthy
- 37:08all year. LeBron James is out for three to
- 37:10four weeks. How long, how many games is
- 37:12LeBron going to play? It seems like every year he's
- 37:15playing 62 to 63 games and he misses about 20.
- 37:19Now he's going to miss a significant portion of the game,
- 37:21games in the first month. How many games he's going to
- 37:24miss between he's getting old and he's getting up there in
- 37:26age. I think LeBron James is going to
- 37:28be traded. It's just going to be Luca and
- 37:30everybody else. Austin Reeves will be a trade
- 37:33ship at the trade deadline. He's a young piece that other
- 37:37teams might be interested in bringing in and developing.
- 37:41I couldn't disagree more. I mean, Austin Reeves is a
- 37:44really likable person. He's a very, very.
- 37:47He's he plays well, he's very somewhat inconsistent on the
- 37:49defense. Like you mentioned about 1/3
- 37:52option for the Lakers. I don't know about that.
- 37:54Like you said, a chip that is going to be traded.
- 37:56And the thing with the Lakers and especially in this LeBron
- 37:59era, he doesn't they never really have a true third person.
- 38:03It's only you have the LeBron and AD era where they also were
- 38:06trying to work with KENTA I. Don't remember his name?
- 38:09Kentavious Caldwell, Pulp, KCP, everybody remembers and they
- 38:13also had another dude I can't remember his name too, Taylan
- 38:15Horton Tucker, another guy that was supposed to be their true
- 38:17third guy on their on their team.
- 38:20But none of that ended up working out.
- 38:22AR15, as he likes to call himself sometimes, is a very
- 38:25somewhat, how would you say reliable third option, but it's
- 38:30definitely not going to pan out well.
- 38:31He's definitely going to be traded before that.
- 38:32So you agree with me, not disagree.
- 38:34No, I said. I couldn't agree with you.
- 38:36More. No, you said.
- 38:37Disagree. Did say disagree?
- 38:38Did say disagree? Did say well.
- 38:39I couldn't agree with you. I was about to say I was.
- 38:42I'm a little lost here. He looks like he is agreeing
- 38:45with me here. Yeah, throw a little.
- 38:47Curveball there, yeah. I couldn't agree with you more
- 38:49though. Austin Reed so.
- 38:51What do they trade for? What do they need?
- 38:52Do they need a point guard to go with the two of them?
- 38:55You need the center. I want to have a seat.
- 38:56Desperately need like, you know, to pair with them and let those
- 39:00two guys. You want to know my honest
- 39:02opinion? Lebron's getting traded to
- 39:04Dallas. I already told you I wouldn't be
- 39:06surprised if they they trade Austin, Reeves and LeBron for a
- 39:11bunch of a bunch of draft picks and maybe a player or two on
- 39:16that roster. You.
- 39:16Think AR is going to with LeBron with?
- 39:19LeBron in a trade in a big and there'll be other teams
- 39:22involved. They'll probably be 3.
- 39:23Teams, I don't think they can trade him and LeBron, I don't
- 39:26know why not because they got a contract.
- 39:29They do well if you trade. That's a valuable guy.
- 39:33Well. I, I just don't know if I, I
- 39:36don't think LeBron is staying here.
- 39:38I, I think LeBron is going to be asking his way out and, and you
- 39:42could see Dallas has deficiencies in really in the
- 39:441st 223 games of the season, you know, they got problems.
- 39:48So I expect LeBron James can clean up those problems.
- 39:51He can give you that defense, he can give you some offense.
- 39:54And I, I wouldn't even be surprised if Dallas uses LeBron
- 39:57James off the bench for the first time in his career.
- 40:00It makes a lot of sense. LeBron James could give you 20
- 40:02points off the bench. I know you guys are smiling at
- 40:05me and looking at me. You get that consistency off the
- 40:08bench of LeBron James giving you 20 points off the bench.
- 40:10He's at that tail end of his career where he would do that to
- 40:14go to a championship team and be the 6th man off the bench.
- 40:17Mark my words, he's going to get traded to Dallas and I believe
- 40:21Reeves, it's it's it's all about Luca.
- 40:23They're going to build the team around Luca.
- 40:25They're going to give them a bunch of young players and
- 40:27they're going to build around through the draft.
- 40:28So that's what I expect. I don't know.
- 40:32If Damon Jones was around, I'm sure he'd be able to bet on it.
- 40:35Now here is the next NBA story. Oh my goodness, this one is
- 40:40hilarious. Kendrick Perkins.
- 40:43Oh, God, went out on social media and said back when they
- 40:48were all together in Oklahoma City talking about Kevin Durant,
- 40:52Russell Westbrook and James Harden, it was not any of the
- 40:55three of them. It was him, the great Kendrick
- 40:59Perkins who was the locker room leader in Oklahoma City.
- 41:04His quote, and I put a few of the quotes up up here when I was
- 41:08with OKC. It wasn't Katie, it wasn't
- 41:09Rusty, it wasn't James. I was the one leading and then
- 41:13Kevin Durant responded. I know this may be a reach, but
- 41:16this comment is by far the craziest S I've seen this week.
- 41:21He went on to continue to RIP on Kendrick Perkins on social media
- 41:27calling him the actual real MVP. And Perkins then fired back,
- 41:34says that's cap, you know, that's cap, and said that he and
- 41:38Nick Collison, the role-playing forward from that that team was,
- 41:43were the real leaders of the young guns of KD, James Harden
- 41:49and Russell Westbrook. Errol.
- 41:51Dial it up. I would love to hear what
- 41:54Kendrick when he was saying this.
- 41:57Kendrick Perkins was drinking, smoking or whatever drugs he was
- 42:01on when he actually believes this.
- 42:03The one time I would agree with Kevin and Kevin Durant on any
- 42:07conversation or if he takes to think that he was the leader.
- 42:11I didn't even know Kendrick Perkins was on that team
- 42:14honestly. I knew Nick Collison, I knew I
- 42:17knew what the Serge Ibaka, I knew that team.
- 42:20I don't even remember Kendrick Perkins on those teams.
- 42:23That tells me I could give a rats ass if Kendrick Perkins was
- 42:28on that team. Why would anybody listen to
- 42:30Kendrick Perkins when you have 3 superstars like James Harden,
- 42:34Russell Westbrook, even Serge Ibaka and Kevin Durant on the
- 42:38same team? I think Kendrick Perkins is out
- 42:41of his damn mind. I I really think he believes
- 42:44this and you want to know something.
- 42:45He's either trying to get more followers on his social medias
- 42:49or he's got he's trying to find another job because he's getting
- 42:52fired from ESPN. And first take, this is a
- 42:56ridiculous take. I, if I was Kevin Durant, I
- 42:59would reach out. I'd actually make an extra
- 43:02Twitter account and just make fun of his tank.
- 43:05I, I would have 8 Twitter accounts instead of seven.
- 43:08It's a joke, an absolute joke. He probably did do that, to be
- 43:13honest. But to be fair, you know, it was
- 43:15only about two weekends ago that I went to see my nephews out of
- 43:19New Jersey. And I I took my nephew and I put
- 43:22him on my lap. And I just told him the story of
- 43:25the greatness of Kendrick Perkins, playing Center for that
- 43:29Oklahoma City team, getting about 6 rebounds off the bench,
- 43:33you know, getting taken out because he couldn't shoot foul
- 43:36shots late in game. So, so he was really just like
- 43:39kind of a, a body in there, but he was the body that we all
- 43:44watched. He was the one that I told my
- 43:47nephew about that I remembered years later from that wonderful
- 43:51OKC team. It was Kendrick Perkins, the
- 43:54leader Perk himself. You know what?
- 43:58I'm hanging out with my little furry friend over here, my furry
- 44:01little ball over here. And to me, I think this furry
- 44:06ball is worth more than what Kendrick Perkins was on that OKC
- 44:11Thunder team. Okay, honestly, I have no idea
- 44:17what is going on in that man tack.
- 44:20Honestly, it's unbelievable. Like he was a rotation, like he
- 44:24was in there, but like. I remember him on the Celtics.
- 44:27Game. I remember him on the Celtics.
- 44:28I barely remember him on OKC. He was there.
- 44:32It was they. I know he.
- 44:33Was there? Collison and Ibaka and him were
- 44:35kind of rotating it depending on how they wanted to play, but he
- 44:38wasn't like a star player by any stretch of the imagination.
- 44:42A leader. Why would I be listening to a
- 44:44guy that averaged 2 points a game?
- 44:47Honestly, basically, all right, We got one last story.
- 44:51I wanted to make everyone laugh before, you know, kind of
- 44:54talking about the saddest thing that happened, which was, of
- 44:56course, the passing of Nick Mangold at the age of 41,
- 45:01complications. I brought this up.
- 45:02I, you know, didn't realize how serious it was when we talked
- 45:05about in the sports minute. I think it was only three weeks
- 45:08ago, not even maybe where he put out a plea on social media
- 45:12looking for a kidney that he needed a transplant.
- 45:16Apparently did not get it in time.
- 45:18Passed away at the age of 41 from a kidney disease that he
- 45:21had been fighting for apparently.
- 45:23But the last, you know, decade plus since he was I think still
- 45:26in the NFL. He was a seven time pro bowler,
- 45:29three time all pro, including two time first team all pro
- 45:32inducted in The Jets Ring of Honor in 2022.
- 45:35He moved into the final 52 some odd players for the National
- 45:40Football Hall of Fame. The next round is the semi
- 45:43finalist cuts. Don't know if he'll make that,
- 45:45but he is being considered for that currently.
- 45:50As you know, he played his entire 11 year career with The
- 45:52Jets. You know, I'll let you start
- 45:55with this one. Arrow.
- 45:56I think everyone might want to have at least a little bit to
- 45:58say about Nick Mingle here when you dial it up.
- 46:02I met Nick four times, maybe even 5 * 1 of the nicest,
- 46:08nicest, down to earth people you'll ever meet.
- 46:11Good person, kind soul, had four or five kids, very good father,
- 46:18great wife. He lived his best life, one of
- 46:22the greatest centers of all time.
- 46:23I say all time, not just because he was a Jet.
- 46:27If you look at what he has done as a professional player,
- 46:31there's only a few centers in history that did what Nick
- 46:35Mangold did. Now, he never won a Super Bowl
- 46:37because he stayed with The Jets and The Jets are a horrible
- 46:40organization, but the guy was a first round talent.
- 46:44He was drafted in the same draft as Ferguson.
- 46:47I remember that draft very, very well when they decided to build
- 46:50around the offensive line and those two guys played
- 46:54practically their whole careers together, Fairly healthy his
- 46:57whole career, dominant force in the middle, one of the best
- 47:01leaders you'll ever meet. Rex Ryan said it best.
- 47:04There's not a bad thing you can say about this man.
- 47:08And when you heard the story that he needs a kidney a couple
- 47:11of weeks ago, and I know you announced that fish on your
- 47:14sports minute. I thought somebody was going to
- 47:17I with the money and, and all the opportunities that these
- 47:20athletes have, they were going to find a kidney for him.
- 47:23And unfortunately it was a lot worse than we could have
- 47:26thought. And, and to hear a story like
- 47:28this and then watch The Jets win their first game, you could tell
- 47:32that they were playing for Nick. You you could tell they were
- 47:34playing for Nick in the fourth quarter.
- 47:36And you heard it from Aaron Glenn at the end of the game
- 47:39when the media asked him and said, did you do this for Nick?
- 47:42And he says Nick Nick was not only one of the faces of this
- 47:46team in this organization, he was a great person and a great a
- 47:51great a great. I forget what he said all
- 47:55exactly, but he said when you when you can consider some of
- 47:59the greatest players of this era and some of the greatest players
- 48:02at his position of all time, you would think of Nick, Nick
- 48:05Mangold. Sadly, sadly Law a sad loss and
- 48:10will sadly be missed. It's just a horrible story.
- 48:13I couldn't believe it when I heard it so.
- 48:15Yeah, I couldn't believe it. Even I was devastated.
- 48:18When you let's think about somebody that really was a heart
- 48:20and soul of an offensive line for a very long time.
- 48:23And I agree with you. He's easily one of the top five
- 48:25centers of all time. Probably him and Jeff Saturday
- 48:27were probably the two best centers that I've seen watch
- 48:29play football. And he did it on a team that
- 48:31like and doubled a lot of dysfunction.
- 48:33But he was a remarkable leader on and off the field, very good
- 48:36in the community. Everything I've heard, and this
- 48:38is the most sad thing I've heard about, apparently he was having
- 48:40this kind of condition. And I think towards the end of
- 48:43his first year in the in the NFL and I there were not a lot of
- 48:46just information on that kind of thing at the time.
- 48:48So it was going on a lot longer. Him needing that specific type
- 48:52of kidney transplant, that type of specific donor and hearing
- 48:55that that they just couldn't get that for decades is so sad to
- 48:58hear. And for somebody that really was
- 49:00such a good person, like you're saying, Harold, really good with
- 49:03the fans. Really good with the community.
- 49:05I want to say something. Geno Smith went on social media
- 49:09to Brickshaw Ferguson, every single one of the players that
- 49:13played with him said that he was the heart and soul of that
- 49:17organization for a significant amount of time.
- 49:20Even to Brickshaw Ferguson, who was there as long as Nick Mango
- 49:23cuz they were drafted in the same draft.
- 49:25He said he was the heart and soul of that team.
- 49:27He was a heart and soul of that offensive line.
- 49:30It's a horrible loss. It 41 years old 41.
- 49:35And and you were mentioning too, with the Buckeyes, too, even the
- 49:37community he had over there with those Jim Tressel teams up
- 49:40against the show. Bobby Carpenter posted on his
- 49:42Instagram how much he was hurt by somebody, somebody losing
- 49:45somebody like Mangold, who was really that good of a teammate,
- 49:47really that good of a friend to everybody.
- 49:50And he will definitely missed it.
- 49:52Just 41 years old. First time I ever met him was at
- 49:55a cigar event in Miami and he was walking around and there
- 50:01were girls taking pictures and I was taking a picture of front of
- 50:05a pool and I have the picture. I'll show you guys a picture.
- 50:08He went behind me to take a picture with me.
- 50:12He he did one of those photo drops.
- 50:15I was taking a picture, photo bombs, photo bombs.
- 50:17He was behind me, smiled, you know, and did one of those photo
- 50:21bombs with me. That was the first time I met
- 50:23Nick Mangel and I told him how big of a Jet fan I was and hung
- 50:28out with him and a bunch of those complete idiots over there
- 50:31at the NFL so. I would say, you know, there's
- 50:36been around football and playing, I'm sure Errol, when
- 50:38you played hockey is also similar.
- 50:40Like sometimes you just play with somebody that you're just
- 50:42like not so much like you're in awe of them, but you're just
- 50:45like, wow, this guy. I want to play with this guy.
- 50:48I want this guy to be my teammate.
- 50:49Like this guy is awesome to play with.
- 50:52I want him to be the one next to me fighting with me.
- 50:55Like every story you hear about Mangled was he was like the
- 50:59quintessential teammate, leader, everything if you wanted, like
- 51:05the tackle is really important, right?
- 51:07No ones saying we're not going to compare if he was more
- 51:10important to the team than to brick a shelf, Ferguson and I.
- 51:12But I will say this, being able to set the tone and have that
- 51:17for a decade behind center, it's so huge for the stability of a
- 51:22franchise. You don't realize how important
- 51:24having that kind of a force there, which is not just like
- 51:27for the Exes and OS, but for, you know, as they say, the
- 51:30Jimmys and the Joes that are, you know, on the team that need
- 51:33to look to somebody to try to right the ship.
- 51:36I know I've watched a program right now, the New York Giants
- 51:39where they're not. They don't know who to follow.
- 51:41It looks like, you know, it was pretty obvious when Mangold was
- 51:44there who everyone was. Following.
- 51:46Just think about it. Think of all the rough things
- 51:48that The Jets have been going through over the last couple of
- 51:50months. Mark Sanchez getting arrested
- 51:52because he's attacking an old man.
- 51:54And now you lose the center that you built and and really held to
- 52:00a pedestal and he dies from a kidney, you know, kidney
- 52:03failure. It's a horrible, horrible story.
- 52:06And my heart goes out to him and his family.
- 52:09My heart goes out to his father. I met his father.
- 52:11Father's one of the nicest people you'll ever meet.
- 52:13His mom, his family. He's got a bunch of brothers and
- 52:17sisters, too. His sister is like a
- 52:19weightlifter. A championship.
- 52:21I I think she I think she lives in the Olympics.
- 52:24Yeah. Olympic champion too.
- 52:26So it's a horrible, horrible story.
- 52:28It really is. It really is horrible.
- 52:31All right. And that's dial it up,
- 52:33everybody. All right, that's it for a show.
- 52:36Ladies and gentlemen, it went a little too late.
- 52:38I know there was a lot of craziness on the show tonight,
- 52:40but you know, it happens. I am a little tired, what can I
- 52:44say? And you know, the beginning of
- 52:46the shows could be a little crazy.
- 52:48And, you know, my shot, my heart goes out to the people that deal
- 52:52with me sometimes. I don't know what to say
- 52:55whatever anyways, anyways, everybody knows who I'm talking
