- 0:00Speaker 1: Because fuck you, that's why, is a founding member of
- 0:03Speaker 1: the Odd Pods Media Network.
- 0:36Speaker 2: Hello and welcome to BFYTW episode 338. What is up?
- 0:46Speaker 2: I am your host, Pantsless Aaron, and I have gone rogue.
- 0:50Speaker 3: Oh no. Yes, yes he has.
- 0:53Speaker 2: I went missing.
- 0:54Speaker 4: Broke containment.
- 0:55Speaker 2: Recently.
- 0:56Speaker 3: We couldn't find you.
- 0:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:57Speaker 3: I looked, man.
- 0:58Speaker 2: It was wild. Well, I was somewhere you wouldn't look
- 1:02Speaker 2: because it was a place with books.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Oh, those places are scary.
- 1:05Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:08Speaker 3: They're intimidating.
- 1:09Speaker 4: It was at a library.
- 1:10Speaker 2: I went to what I think might be the biggest
- 1:14Speaker 2: book festival, certainly in our region, if not in New
- 1:19Speaker 2: York State. I don't imagine it's the biggest in New
- 1:21Speaker 2: York State. There's probably one in New York City that's bigger.
- 1:25Speaker 3: But like in the real new york state and the
- 1:28Speaker 3: rest of new york state.
- 1:30Speaker 2: In the rest of new york state excluding new york
- 1:32Speaker 2: city it might be the biggest one because this was
- 1:34Speaker 2: fucking huge um it's called better off red.
- 1:39Speaker 3: Uh i like that yeah nice and.
- 1:42Speaker 2: Uh this is a it's a massive book festival they
- 1:45Speaker 2: apparently have it every year um i was turned on
- 1:48Speaker 2: to it by previous guests of the show mike welch
- 1:51Speaker 2: yes um told me i needed to get down on
- 1:53Speaker 2: it because they always make bank when they go do
- 1:57Speaker 2: this festival cool and i was like okay i guess
- 2:01Speaker 2: so the last year i tried to get in but
- 2:03Speaker 2: i never got a response oh and i was like
- 2:06Speaker 2: oh what happened and i was like i you know
- 2:08Speaker 2: i said something to the the uh event creators and
- 2:12Speaker 2: they were like we're sorry we we must have missed
- 2:14Speaker 2: it or you know whatnot and that's fine like happens
- 2:17Speaker 2: emails sometimes get sorted into spam by you know email
- 2:20Speaker 2: filters that don't recognize that email. And they're like, what
- 2:24Speaker 2: is this from? You know, stuff like that.
- 2:25Speaker 4: They could have been a follow-up already.
- 2:27Speaker 2: There's a lot of things that could have happened. So
- 2:29Speaker 2: I didn't hold it against him, but I was like,
- 2:30Speaker 2: I would really like to be considered for next year, please.
- 2:33Speaker 2: And thankfully they were like, yeah, I sent in the
- 2:38Speaker 2: thing and, you know, filled out the form and I
- 2:41Speaker 2: paid the $ 25 vendor fee.
- 2:42Speaker 3: That's it?
- 2:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:44Speaker 3: It's not a lot.
- 2:45Speaker 2: And I definitely made my money back and then some. Um,
- 2:49Speaker 2: despite being like one of the lesser vendors at the
- 2:52Speaker 2: whole event, like almost fucking everybody had tents and I,
- 2:56Speaker 2: I wish I had just ponied up for one, even
- 2:59Speaker 2: though it would have made the whole thing almost like completely,
- 3:02Speaker 2: completely pointless. Cause, uh, well, I'll get to it. Um,
- 3:07Speaker 2: so anyway, you had to, you were provided your own
- 3:10Speaker 2: little plot of land and you could set it up
- 3:14Speaker 2: however you wanted.
- 3:15Speaker 3: Okay. That's cool.
- 3:16Speaker 2: So I had to bring my own table.
- 3:18Speaker 3: Right.
- 3:18Speaker 2: I borrowed a folding card table from my dad, which
- 3:22Speaker 2: was great. It turned out to be the perfect size.
- 3:25Speaker 2: You know, it was flawless.
- 3:26Speaker 3: Sometimes size does matter.
- 3:28Speaker 2: Sometimes it does. And I thought that I was thinking
- 3:32Speaker 2: ahead by purchasing a umbrella with a clamp that could
- 3:38Speaker 2: clamp onto either my chair or the table and just
- 3:41Speaker 2: stay above me and keep me protected from the sun.
- 3:44Speaker 3: Fucking smart.
- 3:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:45Speaker 5: I like it.
- 3:46Speaker 3: Think it ahead.
- 3:47Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 3:47Speaker 2: Problem was, um, it wasn't covering my head.
- 3:51Speaker 6: Oh no.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Yeah. Um, I either didn't notice or just didn't feel
- 3:56Speaker 2: the sun on my head.
- 3:58Speaker 3: I've been up there, dead up there for years. I
- 3:59Speaker 3: get it.
- 4:00Speaker 2: And like, I had the, like, it wasn't on my face.
- 4:03Speaker 2: You know, I could tell immediately if the sun was
- 4:06Speaker 2: on my face, but, You know, the skin up there,
- 4:10Speaker 2: I've been bald for years, same as you, so you know.
- 4:14Speaker 2: It's practically, like the nerves are practically gone. You can't
- 4:19Speaker 2: really feel a whole heck of a lot up there.
- 4:22Speaker 2: So I must have just not felt it at all.
- 4:25Speaker 2: You know, I did move the umbrella multiple times and
- 4:28Speaker 2: apparently didn't quite do the trick. Damn. So... When I
- 4:35Speaker 2: packed up, when all was said and done, I made
- 4:36Speaker 2: about 200 bucks.
- 4:37Speaker 3: Oh, shit. Nice.
- 4:39Speaker 2: Which was good and which was nice. And certainly covered
- 4:43Speaker 2: the cost of the chair and the table. The chair
- 4:45Speaker 2: that I bought, I specifically bought like a folding lawn
- 4:49Speaker 2: chair for, you know, a larger guy.
- 4:51Speaker 3: Right, right.
- 4:53Speaker 2: But it still had those like... the pipes that go
- 4:57Speaker 2: like diagonal on.
- 4:59Speaker 3: Your legs folds out still yeah.
- 5:01Speaker 2: It still folds out and those pipes kept like cutting
- 5:05Speaker 2: off my fucking circulation oh and after like after like
- 5:10Speaker 2: three hours or so like i my legs were already
- 5:13Speaker 2: getting sore sitting in this fucking chair um but there
- 5:16Speaker 2: was really nothing i could do about it so i
- 5:18Speaker 2: just put a shut up and dealt with it um
- 5:21Speaker 2: I think they might still actually be a little... No, no, no.
- 5:25Speaker 2: I think they've fully recovered by now. For those who
- 5:28Speaker 2: are just listening, I was actually feeling out my own
- 5:30Speaker 2: legs just now.
- 5:32Speaker 3: Yeah, we're not allowed to do it anymore. There's been
- 5:33Speaker 3: a whole HR incident.
- 5:35Speaker 2: Yeah, that was a thing.
- 5:36Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:37Speaker 4: Guys, don't make me bring it up again.
- 5:38Speaker 3: I'm sorry. I'm sorry.
- 5:39Speaker 2: I'm sorry. Anyway.
- 5:40Speaker 3: We'll talk about it after.
- 5:42Speaker 2: So, yeah. So I was in a painful chair. The
- 5:45Speaker 2: sun burnt the shit out of my head. Um, I
- 5:47Speaker 2: made some money. Um, like I said, I spent a
- 5:50Speaker 2: bunch on a chair and an umbrella, um, which I'm
- 5:55Speaker 2: never using that fucking chair again. I was tempted to
- 5:57Speaker 2: just throw it away, but somebody else might find a
- 6:00Speaker 2: use for it other than me. Um, but, uh, yeah,
- 6:04Speaker 2: the whole experience, uh, left me like sunburned to shit
- 6:09Speaker 2: on the top of my head. Uh, which I didn't,
- 6:13Speaker 2: I did not realize like how bad it was until
- 6:15Speaker 2: the drive home.
- 6:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:17Speaker 2: Like I packed everything up, got in the car, drove home.
- 6:20Speaker 2: And as, as I was like getting to, uh, like
- 6:25Speaker 2: I was like making the last turn to my, you know, uh, the,
- 6:29Speaker 2: the street where my apartment building's on. Yes. And I
- 6:34Speaker 2: just remember feeling like my head is so hot. I
- 6:38Speaker 2: feel like I have a fever.
- 6:40Speaker 3: Hmm.
- 6:42Speaker 2: Which got me concerned because I had a fever like
- 6:45Speaker 2: the day before.
- 6:46Speaker 3: Oh, Jesus.
- 6:47Speaker 2: And it literally made me concerned that I wasn't going
- 6:49Speaker 2: to be able to go to the book festival. But
- 6:52Speaker 2: that cleared up. But this this just felt like a
- 6:56Speaker 2: fever because my head was so hot. Like so I
- 7:01Speaker 2: just like I immediately like pulled in and I was like,
- 7:05Speaker 2: I think I know what's wrong. And I just kind
- 7:07Speaker 2: of when I when I parked in my apartment building,
- 7:10Speaker 2: I took a look in the mirror. And sure enough,
- 7:12Speaker 2: like blazing red across the entire top of my head.
- 7:17Speaker 2: Like every square, like every square inch from my forehead up. Yeah.
- 7:22Speaker 2: Like I managed to keep my entire face covered for
- 7:24Speaker 2: the whole thing to the point where I didn't get
- 7:27Speaker 2: any face sunburn. Cause I hate those. I hate those.
- 7:31Speaker 2: But all of it, but this is the nastiest sunburn
- 7:34Speaker 2: I have ever had to the point where it's been
- 7:37Speaker 2: a week. It is still peeling. And when it peels,
- 7:43Speaker 2: it is still a tiny bit raw. But it's a
- 7:47Speaker 2: lot better than it was day two, day three, day four.
- 7:52Speaker 2: For sure. Peeling would actually hurt. It was that bad.
- 7:57Speaker 2: It wasn't bad enough to the point where I was like,
- 7:59Speaker 2: I should see a doctor. But it still sucked. It
- 8:03Speaker 2: still sucked. I can't recommend it. The aloe vera I
- 8:06Speaker 2: was using was from Dollar General, and the cheap dye
- 8:09Speaker 2: actually dyed part of my head blue. Which was kind
- 8:12Speaker 2: of funny.
- 8:13Speaker 3: It's awesome.
- 8:15Speaker 2: But I just put up with it because, like I said,
- 8:17Speaker 2: I work from home, so it wasn't really going to
- 8:19Speaker 2: bother anybody.
- 8:22Speaker 7: Right.
- 8:22Speaker 2: I'll eventually be out of this horrific thing. So that's
- 8:27Speaker 2: where I was last Saturday. I apologize for not being here.
- 8:30Speaker 5: No, man.
- 8:30Speaker 2: I wish I had been. I've been waiting for a
- 8:33Speaker 2: fucking chill show so I could gush and gush about
- 8:35Speaker 2: my new toy. But it's going to have to wait
- 8:37Speaker 2: until the next one. Yeah.
- 8:39Speaker 3: That's fine.
- 8:39Speaker 2: So.
- 8:40Speaker 3: I'll ask you guys to talk about, too, because I
- 8:42Speaker 3: didn't really talk about the other thing yet, either.
- 8:43Speaker 2: Let's play some games.
- 8:45Speaker 3: Oh, hell yeah. Yeah.
- 8:46Speaker 2: Because it's been a while.
- 8:47Speaker 3: Yes, games. It's been a while.
- 8:48Speaker 2: Yeah. It literally has been, like, quite some time since
- 8:53Speaker 2: we've played some games.
- 8:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:55Speaker 2: I've been talking for a bit, so we're going to
- 8:57Speaker 2: skip the introductory questions. Everybody knows you guys, but in
- 9:00Speaker 2: case you're listening for the first time... Stevie and Augie
- 9:04Speaker 2: are my primary team captains slash solo players. These two idiots,
- 9:09Speaker 2: you know who they are. If you don't know who
- 9:13Speaker 2: they are and you've been listening this long, I'm glad
- 9:16Speaker 2: you've been interested enough in my story to hang around.
- 9:19Speaker 2: But now we're actually going to play some games. We
- 9:21Speaker 2: play silly podcast games. Just tend to be like a
- 9:26Speaker 2: panel show. And it's all just to have some fun.
- 9:28Speaker 2: And we definitely will. So let's get into it.
- 9:31Speaker 3: Game one.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Is going to be a like, share, block. I've got
- 9:36Speaker 2: three news stories. Thank you very much. I've got three
- 9:39Speaker 2: news stories here, and all our players have to do
- 9:41Speaker 2: is tell me which one I would like, which one
- 9:43Speaker 2: I would share, and which one I would block on
- 9:44Speaker 2: social media. There is only one correct combination, and there
- 9:48Speaker 2: is one for one. So there is a like, there
- 9:50Speaker 2: is a share, and there is a block. Our first
- 9:53Speaker 2: story is a doozy.
- 9:56Speaker 4: Oh, God. Human Skyrim.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Dropped off at Michigan Goodwill, sent to FBI instead of
- 10:04Speaker 2: being marked 50% off.
- 10:07Speaker 5: Damn, they got to it before anyone else did.
- 10:11Speaker 3: I know, man. Freaking up, yeah, I always get the
- 10:13Speaker 3: good shit. I know they were.
- 10:14Speaker 2: Watching the boys. So, an unidentified woman dropped off a
- 10:18Speaker 2: bundle of regular used goods. Nothing wrong with anything else.
- 10:22Speaker 3: A bundle of bones.
- 10:25Speaker 2: Just wrapped in a, like a, like a, like a,
- 10:28Speaker 2: a fucking... Mummy's bandage.
- 10:31Speaker 5: Entire body.
- 10:33Speaker 2: Entire fucking body. No, it's just regular used goods and
- 10:37Speaker 2: just one item that appeared to be wrapped in a shirt.
- 10:42Speaker 2: And when they went through the items and like took
- 10:45Speaker 2: the shirt off of the item, they discovered that it
- 10:48Speaker 2: was an honest to God human skull.
- 10:51Speaker 3: Wait a minute. Did it still flush on it or anything?
- 10:54Speaker 3: Or just a skull?
- 10:56Speaker 2: It is just a skull.
- 10:58Speaker 3: Okay, good.
- 11:00Speaker 2: Um, I mean, they, they, they did send it to,
- 11:03Speaker 2: you know, a lab to get tested. Uh, they, they
- 11:07Speaker 2: needed to find out if it was authentic first of all,
- 11:09Speaker 2: or if this was some sort of, you know, weird prank.
- 11:15Speaker 2: But the woman was like middle-aged, like, uh, in her
- 11:18Speaker 2: forties or fifties, shoulder length, dark brown hair, bleach highlights. Um,
- 11:23Speaker 2: they still don't know who it is.
- 11:24Speaker 4: Wow. Is the skull like actually a human skull?
- 11:30Speaker 2: According to the lab reports, yes.
- 11:32Speaker 5: Wow.
- 11:32Speaker 2: It is a genuine human skull.
- 11:34Speaker 5: I'm wondering if it was somebody who was like, had like,
- 11:38Speaker 5: maybe was like an anatomy teacher or health teacher.
- 11:42Speaker 2: You would think so.
- 11:42Speaker 4: Or worked in health or whatever, and they were just
- 11:44Speaker 4: throwing out old shit.
- 11:46Speaker 6: Right.
- 11:46Speaker 4: And they're just like, oh, this skull. Maybe they didn't
- 11:49Speaker 4: even know it was real. Maybe they thought it was
- 11:50Speaker 4: like a paperweight.
- 11:52Speaker 3: Oh, shit.
- 11:52Speaker 2: Well, I don't know about that. The immediate results of
- 11:55Speaker 2: the investigation revealed the skull had no visible damage. or
- 11:59Speaker 2: quote-unquote uncharacteristic holes. In other words, nobody shot this person
- 12:04Speaker 2: in the head. Okay. However, that was all the police
- 12:08Speaker 2: department could figure out. They handed the skull to the
- 12:10Speaker 2: University of Michigan's anthropology department, and by mid-August, the study
- 12:16Speaker 2: produced results, and it's a little more disconcerting.
- 12:19Speaker 5: Oh, no.
- 12:19Speaker 2: The skull in life belonged to a 20- to 49-year-old
- 12:24Speaker 2: African-American woman. However, they couldn't determine exactly when the woman
- 12:28Speaker 2: had died. The skull was well-preserved, skeletonized, and had traces
- 12:35Speaker 2: of adherent soil.
- 12:37Speaker 3: Oh, wow.
- 12:38Speaker 2: So in plain language, the skull may have been buried
- 12:41Speaker 2: at some point because dirt was stuck to it. In addition,
- 12:45Speaker 2: they determined that it was not a teaching or medical specimen.
- 12:49Speaker 5: Oh, fuck.
- 12:49Speaker 2: So it had not originated from a university's cadaver or
- 12:53Speaker 2: anatomy lab.
- 12:53Speaker 4: Yeah, that's a problem.
- 12:56Speaker 2: So now the FBI crime lab in Quantico is trying
- 13:00Speaker 2: to figure out, was this a murder? But what about
- 13:04Speaker 2: the woman who left the skull at Goodwill? They have
- 13:08Speaker 2: no idea. People have left photos and asked the public
- 13:10Speaker 2: for help finding the woman. And they've received two dozen
- 13:13Speaker 2: tips about the woman's identity. But the CPD still has
- 13:18Speaker 2: no idea who or where she is.
- 13:20Speaker 3: Oh, my God.
- 13:20Speaker 2: Or at the very least, they haven't announced it yet.
- 13:22Speaker 3: So she just donated some stuff. Did she get a
- 13:25Speaker 3: receipt for her taxes? Because they're all numbered. You can
- 13:29Speaker 3: tell by the number. Figure out what number she has, guys. See,
- 13:32Speaker 3: I do your job for you. I want half the
- 13:34Speaker 3: prize money.
- 13:35Speaker 6: Impressive.
- 13:36Speaker 5: I'm wondering if it was that or it was a
- 13:38Speaker 5: case of she was looking for a place to dump
- 13:40Speaker 5: it and just did not realize where she was dumping it.
- 13:45Speaker 2: Or it was deliberate. Which is strange.
- 13:50Speaker 5: Why would you exhume a dead body and then just
- 13:53Speaker 5: donate its body parts to like.
- 13:55Speaker 2: A good yeah if it was buried like was it
- 14:00Speaker 2: not safely.
- 14:01Speaker 3: Buried maybe it wasn't safely buried maybe it was too.
- 14:05Speaker 2: Shallow I have a theory involving this considering the description
- 14:10Speaker 2: of the woman I get like real Karen vibes from
- 14:14Speaker 2: this person and I have a feeling she might have
- 14:18Speaker 2: a young child or even a teenager she's in her
- 14:21Speaker 2: 40s or 50s who might have dug up this item
- 14:24Speaker 2: in their backyard, and she's just like, I don't want
- 14:27Speaker 2: any fucking thing to do with this. So she's literally like,
- 14:31Speaker 2: I'm just gonna drop this shit off at Goodwill and
- 14:35Speaker 2: walk away and forget any of this ever happened.
- 14:39Speaker 4: The real question is, where's the rest of that skeleton?
- 14:41Speaker 2: Yeah, where's the rest of the body?
- 14:42Speaker 3: She stopped digging. Like, I know, every time we dig
- 14:44Speaker 3: up bones and stuff, we put them in the bone bag.
- 14:46Speaker 2: It's just a theory.
- 14:47Speaker 3: Every time.
- 14:47Speaker 2: It's a wild theory. I have no evidence of any
- 14:49Speaker 2: of this. So... But it's just, it's the first thing
- 14:53Speaker 2: that came to my mind is, like, somebody doing this, like,
- 14:56Speaker 2: clearly just wanted to be left.
- 14:58Speaker 3: Out of this.
- 14:59Speaker 4: Nope.
- 14:59Speaker 2: Like, nope, nope. So this is why my.
- 15:02Speaker 4: House is haunted. Just tries to get rid of the
- 15:04Speaker 4: cursed afterlife.
- 15:06Speaker 3: Now it's just a headless ghost inside there and won't
- 15:07Speaker 3: leave her alone. She's smacking at her.
- 15:10Speaker 2: Now police authorities are constantly up her ass. Constantly?
- 15:16Speaker 5: Because she's a cunt?
- 15:18Speaker 6: Wow.
- 15:20Speaker 2: All right, let's move on to story number two. Okay.
- 15:23Speaker 2: Thirsty thieves execute two massive beer heists in the U.S.
- 15:27Speaker 2: and the U.K.
- 15:28Speaker 3: Cheers, fellas.
- 15:31Speaker 4: Sorry. Like, what do we mean beer heist here?
- 15:35Speaker 2: Well, if I had a nickel for every giant beer
- 15:38Speaker 2: theft in the past month, I'd have two nickels. Which
- 15:41Speaker 2: isn't much, but it's still weird that it happened twice.
- 15:43Speaker 3: Nice.
- 15:43Speaker 2: Yeah. So, yeah, both the U.S. and the U.K. have
- 15:47Speaker 2: seen a large-scale and weirdly coincidentally timed heist of beer.
- 15:53Speaker 2: In America, enterprising thieves stole thousands of cans of Pabst
- 15:57Speaker 2: Blue Ribbon. Ew.
- 15:58Speaker 3: Oof.
- 15:59Speaker 4: You poor, poor bastards.
- 16:01Speaker 3: It's not that bad yet. It's not that bad yet, guys.
- 16:03Speaker 2: Non-alcoholic old Milwaukee beer.
- 16:07Speaker 3: Guys, it's really not that bad.
- 16:08Speaker 2: Which, that had to be unintentional. Like, that had to
- 16:13Speaker 2: be unintentional.
- 16:13Speaker 3: It was an accident. We grabbed the wrong truck. That's
- 16:16Speaker 3: what it was. But they took it anyway.
- 16:20Speaker 2: The strange part is that the thefts happened in two
- 16:22Speaker 2: separate heists targeting the same warehouse on one day.
- 16:26Speaker 4: Huh.
- 16:28Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:29Speaker 3: How is that even possible? Yeah.
- 16:33Speaker 2: Meanwhile, on the other side of the pond, the thieves
- 16:37Speaker 2: in this particular instance felt like helping themselves to 70,000
- 16:42Speaker 2: pints of Guinness.
- 16:43Speaker 3: There you go. Now that's a beer to steal.
- 16:46Speaker 4: See?
- 16:48Speaker 2: And the English police found the trailer that the thieves used,
- 16:51Speaker 2: but the criminals themselves have vanished into thin air.
- 16:55Speaker 3: No shit. That's a good one.
- 16:58Speaker 4: What the hell?
- 16:58Speaker 3: They're getting the good shit.
- 17:00Speaker 2: I just don't... Same warehouse. With the Pabst Blue Ribbon,
- 17:04Speaker 2: I don't get it.
- 17:06Speaker 3: I think it was a random truck. They knew when
- 17:07Speaker 3: the trucks were going, and that's all they knew.
- 17:09Speaker 2: So the first heist had a truck loaded with about $ 45, 000
- 17:13Speaker 2: worth of Pabst Blue Ribbon, although that figure seems high.
- 17:18Speaker 3: $ 40 billion cans.
- 17:18Speaker 2: That figure seems high, no matter how much beer they
- 17:21Speaker 2: had in there. That figure seems high. It left the
- 17:26Speaker 2: Los Angeles facility, and it was headed for Tucson, but
- 17:28Speaker 2: it never arrived in Arizona.
- 17:30Speaker 1: Oh.
- 17:31Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 17:32Speaker 2: It's not clear whether the original trucker was in league
- 17:36Speaker 2: with the criminals or whether the thieves pilfered the cargo
- 17:39Speaker 2: along the way at some point. But what matters is
- 17:41Speaker 2: that the beer is gone and there's no trace of it.
- 17:45Speaker 2: But these criminals weren't done, assuming it was the same group.
- 17:49Speaker 3: Right.
- 17:49Speaker 2: An hour after that first truck drove away, a supposed,
- 17:53Speaker 2: quote unquote, subcontracting company submitted paperwork to pick up another
- 17:58Speaker 2: load of beer from the L.A. Distribution Center. And the
- 18:02Speaker 2: order was for $ 25, 000 in beer. The management of the
- 18:06Speaker 2: facility signed the order and a truck came to pick
- 18:08Speaker 2: up the load. However, the documents were fake. The subcontractor
- 18:12Speaker 2: doesn't exist. And there's no telling, again, who took this beer.
- 18:15Speaker 5: Wait a minute.
- 18:16Speaker 3: They placed a fake order?
- 18:17Speaker 2: So, yeah. So that's $ 70, 000.
- 18:19Speaker 5: Worth of Pabst products and 40,000 pounds of beer cans.
- 18:32Speaker 3: Like, the Guinness I get, the Pabst had been a mistake.
- 18:35Speaker 3: That's why they hit this one an hour later. Like,
- 18:37Speaker 3: you know what? I know what these forms look like.
- 18:39Speaker 3: I have them. Let's get this done.
- 18:41Speaker 4: But then it was like the non-alcoholic stuff.
- 18:44Speaker 3: Yeah, I know. They sell it to some kids. Kids
- 18:46Speaker 3: are stupid. Don't think they're drunk.
- 18:49Speaker 2: The Pabst Brewing Company immediately turned this into a marketing stunt.
- 18:54Speaker 3: Oh, did they?
- 18:54Speaker 2: They posted in a statement, To the thief, we don't
- 18:57Speaker 2: fault you for wanting to brag to your friends how
- 18:59Speaker 2: much PBR you have. We just wish you obtained it
- 19:02Speaker 2: in the honorable way.
- 19:04Speaker 3: You know what? Okay. Good on you, Pabst.
- 19:07Speaker 2: But Pabst is actually serious about this, considering they have
- 19:11Speaker 2: promised a $ 20, 000 reward To anyone who provides information leading
- 19:16Speaker 2: to the thieves' capture.
- 19:17Speaker 3: But it was $ 50, 000 worth of beer.
- 19:19Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 19:19Speaker 3: I'm not returning the beer for 20... Nobody should return
- 19:23Speaker 3: the beer for that little amount of money.
- 19:26Speaker 2: I mean, the Pabst is barely worth it.
- 19:28Speaker 3: It's not. The Guinness makes sense. But that's it.
- 19:31Speaker 2: Anyway, that's the U.S. heist. Let's hop back over to England.
- 19:34Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, yeah. Sorry.
- 19:36Speaker 2: So, on August 31st, the thieves targeted a single distribution
- 19:41Speaker 2: center just outside Liverpool. Okay. At 7.45 p.m. on the day,
- 19:46Speaker 2: somebody drove out of the storage facility with a semi-trailer
- 19:48Speaker 2: loaded with barrels of... of Guinness, and two hours later, 9.30,
- 19:52Speaker 2: another trailer left the warehouse. Neither arrived where they were
- 19:57Speaker 2: supposed to, if they were supposed to go anywhere. The
- 20:00Speaker 2: trucks took more than 800 barrels of Guinness that had
- 20:04Speaker 2: been earmarked for distribution to Britain's pubs. Now, this Guinness
- 20:09Speaker 2: is worth a lot more than Pabst Blue Ribbon, as
- 20:12Speaker 2: you might have guessed.
- 20:13Speaker 3: Yeah, maybe a little bit more.
- 20:14Speaker 2: It is worth around 25,000 pounds sterling, or in U.S. dollars,
- 20:18Speaker 2: nearly $ 278, 000. Yeah. So, unlike in America, where there's more
- 20:27Speaker 2: space to dump a trailer, England is a bit more compact. Right.
- 20:32Speaker 2: The cops found the stolen trailers. One was in the
- 20:35Speaker 2: Hall Lane area of Liverpool. The other was discovered in Kelmersdale,
- 20:39Speaker 2: northeast of the city. And eyewitness reports and surveillance footage
- 20:43Speaker 2: do have vague descriptions of the thieves. But no arrests
- 20:48Speaker 2: have yet been made.
- 20:49Speaker 3: Damn.
- 20:52Speaker 5: Stealing alcohol.
- 20:55Speaker 4: Most.
- 20:55Speaker 5: People steal just because they mostly can and stuff like that.
- 20:59Speaker 5: But I feel like when you're doing something that.
- 21:04Speaker 4: Guinness was going... It was earmarked to go to pubs.
- 21:07Speaker 5: That Pabst was probably earmarked to go to, like, a
- 21:10Speaker 5: bunch of, like, stores, supermarkets, whatever.
- 21:13Speaker 3: Right.
- 21:14Speaker 5: Especially during a time where, like, the season, like, football
- 21:17Speaker 5: season in the U.S.
- 21:18Speaker 4: Is starting up.
- 21:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:20Speaker 5: So that kind of almost feels, like, targeted in a way,
- 21:23Speaker 5: doesn't it?
- 21:23Speaker 3: Right, a little bit.
- 21:25Speaker 5: Like, purposely trying to disrupt, like, that time of year
- 21:29Speaker 5: for people by.
- 21:31Speaker 3: It's all the weed people. We're fighting back against the
- 21:33Speaker 3: fucking alcohol fucking lobbyists and shit.
- 21:36Speaker 5: All right, motherfuckers.
- 21:37Speaker 3: It's our turn. We'll go after your shit.
- 21:43Speaker 2: All right. Shall we move on to story number three?
- 21:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:45Speaker 3: Story three.
- 21:46Speaker 2: Story three. Man kills cousin over whose enchiladas are spicier.
- 21:52Speaker 3: I mean, isn't there a Scoville... The scale that we
- 21:55Speaker 3: can measure shit on?
- 21:56Speaker 2: I mean, honestly, you could just try that. Instead of this.
- 22:02Speaker 2: On August 27th... Where's his first name? His last name's Gutierrez.
- 22:09Speaker 4: There it is.
- 22:10Speaker 2: Irving Gutierrez began arguing with his cousin, Nathaniel Cabezos. They
- 22:16Speaker 2: had made plans to get together with a third unidentified
- 22:20Speaker 2: cousin to cook and have dinner together.
- 22:23Speaker 5: Okay.
- 22:24Speaker 2: The trio were at the apartment, they were eating their meal,
- 22:27Speaker 2: having a good time, but they also had some drinks,
- 22:31Speaker 2: which may have contributed to what followed. For undetermined reasons,
- 22:36Speaker 2: Gutierrez began antagonizing Covezos, court documents read. Apparently, the argument
- 22:43Speaker 2: started over the spiciness of the enchiladas the men had
- 22:46Speaker 2: cooked for dinner.
- 22:47Speaker 4: Okay.
- 22:49Speaker 2: Gutierrez claimed he'd made his enchiladas hotter than Cabeza's had
- 22:53Speaker 2: and dared the other man to eat them. Okay. And
- 22:56Speaker 2: his cousin retorted that they had cooked the food together
- 22:58Speaker 2: and every enchilada was equally spicy.
- 23:01Speaker 3: Wait a minute, it wasn't even like mine's hotter than
- 23:07Speaker 3: yours and yours is hotter.
- 23:08Speaker 1: Like, that wasn't like they made individual ones of different
- 23:10Speaker 1: hot sauces.
- 23:11Speaker 3: They made them the same.
- 23:12Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 23:13Speaker 2: This argument developed into strong words and shouting.
- 23:16Speaker 5: Same spicy.
- 23:17Speaker 2: And it's at this point that the third cousin stepped
- 23:20Speaker 2: in and tried to defuse the situation and said, hey guys,
- 23:23Speaker 2: let's chill out and let's just, let's take the family
- 23:27Speaker 2: dogs for a walk together. Maybe some outdoor air would
- 23:31Speaker 2: help cool everybody's heads.
- 23:33Speaker 3: Yeah, that makes sense.
- 23:34Speaker 2: But they weren't having a word of it.
- 23:36Speaker 3: No.
- 23:37Speaker 2: They decided the angry words weren't enough. They started throwing punches.
- 23:40Speaker 3: I mean, yeah, over enchiladas, I get it.
- 23:43Speaker 2: The police report suggests that Cabezos got the upper hand
- 23:46Speaker 2: in the fight. He apparently bloodied Gutierrez with a punch
- 23:49Speaker 2: to the face. And Gutierrez drew out a handgun.
- 23:52Speaker 3: What the fuck?
- 23:54Speaker 2: And he pointed it at his cousin while yelling, We're family!
- 23:57Speaker 2: How could you do this to me?
- 24:01Speaker 4: Oh my god.
- 24:03Speaker 3: And then shot him?
- 24:05Speaker 2: With the gun in his face, Cabezos decided enough was enough.
- 24:08Speaker 2: He tried to de-escalate. He was like, uh... I'm just
- 24:13Speaker 2: going to walk away from this. We're going to diffuse
- 24:15Speaker 2: the situation. And Gutierrez disagreed. No!
- 24:21Speaker 3: He disrespected him and his family.
- 24:23Speaker 2: He shot him in the back.
- 24:25Speaker 3: Oh, wow. You fucking coward. You fucking coward.
- 24:32Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 24:33Speaker 2: Jesus. According to his testimony, Gutierrez claimed that Cavazos had
- 24:39Speaker 2: threatened his life at an unspecified time earlier. saying, I
- 24:43Speaker 2: did not want to kill him, but I didn't want
- 24:44Speaker 2: him to kill me.
- 24:45Speaker 3: Hmm.
- 24:50Speaker 2: Your argument was about enchiladas, bro. There's nothing in there
- 24:55Speaker 2: about him killing you.
- 24:57Speaker 5: They're the same.
- 24:59Speaker 3: This is the best part is that they're the same.
- 25:01Speaker 3: They were made together. Dude wanted a reason. That's all
- 25:06Speaker 3: that was.
- 25:07Speaker 4: That's all that sounded like.
- 25:09Speaker 3: We just made them.
- 25:10Speaker 9: This kind of feels like he.
- 25:13Speaker 2: Deliberately goaded him into an argument so he'd have an
- 25:16Speaker 2: excuse to shoot him. That's the only thing I can
- 25:19Speaker 2: think of because otherwise this is nonsense. That third cousin
- 25:24Speaker 2: must have been just, like, mystified the whole time and
- 25:27Speaker 2: then horrified.
- 25:28Speaker 4: Yeah, what the fuck?
- 25:29Speaker 3: Yeah, and then you gotta try to deal with another
- 25:31Speaker 3: fucking psycho with a gun. Oh, my God.
- 25:35Speaker 1: All right.
- 25:35Speaker 3: What the fuck, man?
- 25:37Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 25:38Speaker 3: Some crazy-ass stories. Dude, real life is crazy.
- 25:43Speaker 2: 100% it is. Fuck this.
- 25:45Speaker 3: Let's go back to video games.
- 25:46Speaker 2: It's safer. Let's go back to games, period. Games. We've
- 25:51Speaker 2: got our three news stories. Human skull dropped off at
- 25:55Speaker 2: Michigan Goodwill. Thirsty thieves execute two massive beer heists in
- 26:00Speaker 2: two countries almost simultaneously. And finally, man kills cousin over
- 26:05Speaker 2: whose enchiladas are spicier.
- 26:07Speaker 1: So.
- 26:09Speaker 2: I have liked, shared, and blocked exactly one of each
- 26:11Speaker 2: of these, so let's see. We did a chill show last,
- 26:16Speaker 2: and before that was Beefy Eprity, which your parents won?
- 26:20Speaker 3: So everybody won.
- 26:22Speaker 2: So I literally have no idea. I am going to
- 26:26Speaker 2: give it to Augie first.
- 26:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 26:29Speaker 4: Nice.
- 26:30Speaker 2: Because I feel like I haven't been as nice to
- 26:32Speaker 2: him as I've been to you recently.
- 26:33Speaker 3: Yeah, quit being so nice to me.
- 26:35Speaker 2: All right, fuck you.
- 26:36Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 26:36Speaker 2: Augie, you go first.
- 26:39Speaker 4: Makes it weird.
- 26:47Speaker 5: I think you like the beer story because no one
- 26:53Speaker 5: really got hurt and beer is whatever. It's just another
- 26:58Speaker 5: business corporation in this case. You shared the skull story
- 27:07Speaker 5: mostly because It's just bizarre. Like, who the fuck would
- 27:11Speaker 5: do that kind of thing? And yes, where the hell
- 27:14Speaker 5: is the rest of it? And then you block the
- 27:18Speaker 5: murder because killing anybody over something as stupid as the
- 27:23Speaker 5: spiciness of your enchiladas is the dumbest fucking shit that
- 27:28Speaker 5: I've heard in a while.
- 27:29Speaker 3: It's life in the streets, Augie.
- 27:30Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 27:38Speaker 2: What streets? They were in New Mexico. All right.
- 27:40Speaker 3: Grew up on a mile and a half of streets.
- 27:43Speaker 2: All right, Stevie, you're allowed to keep one of those.
- 27:46Speaker 2: We have to swap the other two, or you can
- 27:48Speaker 2: go entirely your own way.
- 27:50Speaker 3: All right, so I'm going to switch it up a
- 27:52Speaker 3: little bit. I think Augie and I agreed that you're
- 27:54Speaker 3: going to block the same thing. Block the cousin killing.
- 27:57Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 27:58Speaker 3: Stop killing cousins, peeps.
- 27:59Speaker 2: That's fair.
- 27:59Speaker 3: All right, and then we're going to swap the other two.
- 28:02Speaker 3: We're going to go liking the skull, the goodwill skull.
- 28:05Speaker 3: because nobody really got hurt and if they did it's
- 28:08Speaker 3: in the past because that person's already dead so it
- 28:10Speaker 3: doesn't matter um but sharing the fucking awesomeness of beer
- 28:15Speaker 3: thieves in the uk and how they're so much better
- 28:18Speaker 3: than our shitty ass beer thieves in the u.s like
- 28:23Speaker 3: seriously step it up man we just had fourth of
- 28:26Speaker 3: july a couple months ago and you're fucking performing like
- 28:29Speaker 3: this seriously.
- 28:32Speaker 2: Well, ironically, even though it wasn't exactly the same reason,
- 28:39Speaker 2: Stevie is exactly right. I shared the beer heist and
- 28:42Speaker 2: liked the human skull. And, of course, I blocked the
- 28:46Speaker 2: New Mexico Cousins because... Come on, man. Man. If he'd
- 28:52Speaker 2: shot him and survived, I might have put it higher, but...
- 28:56Speaker 2: He fucking killed him over fucking enchiladas.
- 28:59Speaker 1: And then, like.
- 29:00Speaker 2: Like, this could have been some weird-ass attempt to, like,
- 29:03Speaker 2: cover up what was an intentional murder from the get-go.
- 29:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 29:07Speaker 2: But, like, just what the fuck, dude?
- 29:09Speaker 3: Like, why?
- 29:10Speaker 5: Well, Aaron, if you can't kill cousins, and you can't
- 29:13Speaker 5: kiss cousins, then.
- 29:14Speaker 4: What are you supposed to do with cousins?
- 29:15Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 29:16Speaker 3: He's got a point.
- 29:18Speaker 4: Leave them alone.
- 29:18Speaker 2: For fuck's sake. There is probably a thriving porn industry
- 29:24Speaker 2: on fucking them. Ew.
- 29:26Speaker 3: I'm good.
- 29:27Speaker 4: I'm good.
- 29:28Speaker 3: I'm so good, dude.
- 29:29Speaker 2: I'm... Yeah, we'll pass.
- 29:31Speaker 3: Yeah, thanks.
- 29:32Speaker 2: We can cross.
- 29:33Speaker 3: That one off. We don't need that. Yeah, no thank you.
- 29:35Speaker 5: I know my lecture block. Block, block, block.
- 29:40Speaker 2: Not to mention my cousins are ugly. All right, so.
- 29:48Speaker 3: You know, if that one was hot, maybe. Maybe, but
- 29:52Speaker 3: she's fucking annoying.
- 29:54Speaker 2: I don't have a moral objection, but.
- 30:07Speaker 2: So yeah um i i shared the beer because i
- 30:11Speaker 2: i didn't feel right sharing the human skull at goodwill
- 30:14Speaker 2: it is kind of funny like to think of a
- 30:16Speaker 2: mom just being like this dirty thing this dirty thing
- 30:20Speaker 2: got dug up my god i'm just gonna wrap it
- 30:23Speaker 2: in an old shirt and just mix it in with
- 30:25Speaker 2: some crap i'm taking to goodwill.
- 30:28Speaker 3: Your problem now, bitches, I'm out.
- 30:30Speaker 2: But the fact of the matter is we don't know
- 30:32Speaker 2: what happened to this person and they could have been murdered.
- 30:34Speaker 2: So the only one that seemed worthy of sharing was
- 30:37Speaker 2: the thieves. Although Stevie does bring up a very fun
- 30:40Speaker 2: point in that the UK thieves are much, much more
- 30:44Speaker 2: better and have like.
- 30:47Speaker 1: Plans.
- 30:48Speaker 2: Not... They have respect for themselves.
- 30:51Speaker 3: Oh, my God. Yes. Yes.
- 30:53Speaker 2: They did not steal Pabst Blue Ribbon.
- 30:55Speaker 1: Like, seriously.
- 30:56Speaker 3: We're not trying to berate you at all in the U.S.
- 30:58Speaker 3: We're not. I swear to God, no. We just want
- 31:01Speaker 3: you to do better. Like, just do best.
- 31:03Speaker 5: I mean.
- 31:04Speaker 4: You're going to be a raging alcoholic.
- 31:06Speaker 5: I mean.
- 31:06Speaker 4: Please do it right.
- 31:08Speaker 2: You almost... You almost couldn't have done worse. Pabst Blue
- 31:11Speaker 2: Ribbon and old Milwaukee non-alcoholic beer.
- 31:15Speaker 1: Like....
- 31:17Speaker 5: Oh, man.
- 31:18Speaker 2: Were you just scraping the bottom of that.
- 31:21Speaker 3: Barrel so hard? And I drank a lot. Budweiser was
- 31:26Speaker 3: my bottom.
- 31:27Speaker 2: What was the one? Was it Milwaukee's Best or something
- 31:29Speaker 2: like that? Yeah, Milwaukee's Beast.
- 31:31Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 31:32Speaker 2: That is the shittiest beer I've ever tasted.
- 31:34Speaker 3: I had some time in Utah with those bitches.
- 31:36Speaker 1: That sucked.
- 31:38Speaker 11: All right.
- 31:39Speaker 2: Well, Stevie wins that game. He gets one episode point.
- 31:42Speaker 3: Yeah, I got a point.
- 31:42Speaker 1: Stevie.
- 31:44Speaker 2: Um, when we come back, we're going to play game
- 31:46Speaker 2: two and Augie will have a chance to catch up.
- 31:48Speaker 2: We're going to do that right after this.
- 31:51Speaker 11: Hey, welcome to the mailbag. It's time to check out
- 32:01Speaker 11: what we got.
- 32:10Speaker 2: Stevie, what do we got?
- 32:11Speaker 3: Oh, we got a thingy. Check it out.
- 32:13Speaker 5: Check it out.
- 32:14Speaker 1: And it wasn't an email.
- 32:15Speaker 2: We got a thingy.
- 32:16Speaker 1: Well, it started as an email, but then it was
- 32:18Speaker 1: a link in the email. And the link went.
- 32:20Speaker 3: To our website. And the website, it had a contact thingy.
- 32:23Speaker 3: And then there's where people can leave us voice messages.
- 32:26Speaker 3: And that's what this is. It's a fucking voice message.
- 32:28Speaker 2: Okay.
- 32:29Speaker 4: Let's hear it.
- 32:30Speaker 3: Hopefully it works.
- 32:33Speaker 5: What's going on, everybody?
- 32:34Speaker 7: It's PJ from Running the Hamster Wheel. I just had
- 32:37Speaker 7: to call in and say I loved hearing Stevie's parents
- 32:41Speaker 7: on playing Beefy Eopardy. It was genuinely one of the
- 32:44Speaker 7: greatest things I've ever heard. That needs to be an
- 32:46Speaker 7: annual event. I'm coming on and playing silly games.
- 32:48Speaker 3: With you guys.
- 32:49Speaker 7: It was fantastic. They were awesome. And I see where
- 32:54Speaker 7: Stevie's laugh comes from now.
- 32:56Speaker 3: It's fantastic.
- 32:57Speaker 7: Anyway, it's time for me to go run over some
- 32:59Speaker 7: hamsters in a wheel.
- 33:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:03Speaker 2: Thank you, Timothy. It's awesome to hear from you. Yes,
- 33:08Speaker 2: that was a really, really fun episode. I kind of
- 33:12Speaker 2: wish I just could have been.
- 33:13Speaker 4: In the room.
- 33:14Speaker 3: I think next time you shouldn't. I think Timothy has
- 33:17Speaker 3: a great idea.
- 33:18Speaker 2: We'll do a different game of some kind.
- 33:20Speaker 3: We should do an annual thing.
- 33:21Speaker 2: But we should absolutely have them back.
- 33:23Speaker 1: Oh, my God, yes.
- 33:23Speaker 2: They were hysterical.
- 33:25Speaker 3: They are so much fun, guys. Like, seriously.
- 33:27Speaker 2: Yeah, and as CJ says, it's immediately obvious where Stevie
- 33:32Speaker 2: gets it from. Yeah, yeah.
- 33:33Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 33:34Speaker 2: So, yeah, it's a lot of fun hanging with them.
- 33:37Speaker 2: And we got to hang with them after that, which
- 33:39Speaker 2: was fantastic.
- 33:39Speaker 3: Oh, my God. That was a good time.
- 33:41Speaker 2: That was like one of the best days I've had
- 33:43Speaker 2: in a long time. That was so good. We might
- 33:46Speaker 2: as well tell the story briefly.
- 33:48Speaker 3: Yeah, fucking do it.
- 33:49Speaker 2: We went from the show to a winery where we
- 33:52Speaker 2: just hung out, chilled, drunk some wine, sat outside, touched grass,
- 33:57Speaker 2: just chatted.
- 33:58Speaker 3: We were out there for a bit.
- 33:59Speaker 2: We were out there for like an hour and a half,
- 34:01Speaker 2: I think.
- 34:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 34:02Speaker 2: And then we decided to all go get dinner. And
- 34:04Speaker 2: we went to this place in our town that I
- 34:06Speaker 2: have not been since I was like maybe a teenager.
- 34:10Speaker 3: I was a kid.
- 34:10Speaker 2: A very, very long time. It's a beef on whack place.
- 34:14Speaker 3: Oh, my God. One of the originators, too.
- 34:16Speaker 2: And they were, I mean, their menu was solid. The
- 34:21Speaker 2: prices were reasonable. I was like, oh, man, you know what?
- 34:24Speaker 2: I'm going to go ahead and treat myself. And I
- 34:28Speaker 2: went ahead and got like the king cut prime rib.
- 34:31Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, I think it looked fucking amazing.
- 34:33Speaker 4: Jesus.
- 34:34Speaker 2: And I'm a big guy, and I can put it
- 34:35Speaker 2: away if I want to. I could not, under no circumstances.
- 34:40Speaker 3: I've seen you take steaks, too, man. Holy shit.
- 34:42Speaker 2: Yeah, like the ones you guys brought over, I ate
- 34:45Speaker 2: that whole fucking thing.
- 34:46Speaker 3: And it was delicious, and I loved it.
- 34:48Speaker 2: But this king prime rib was fucking ginormous, and I
- 34:54Speaker 2: just literally couldn't. So I had to bag that up
- 34:56Speaker 2: with some fries and take it home for the next day.
- 34:59Speaker 3: So good. Beef on Weck was amazing.
- 35:01Speaker 2: That meal and just sitting and chilling and talking to
- 35:04Speaker 2: everybody around that table was spectacular.
- 35:06Speaker 3: It was nice.
- 35:07Speaker 2: It was literally one of the best days I've had
- 35:09Speaker 2: in a long time. That was just so good.
- 35:11Speaker 3: You need to do more of that.
- 35:12Speaker 2: And spending all of it with your parents was just
- 35:15Speaker 2: cherry on top. It was awesome.
- 35:16Speaker 3: They're good people, man.
- 35:18Speaker 4: Irish coffee was nice.
- 35:20Speaker 3: Oh, he had an Irish coffee.
- 35:21Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 35:22Speaker 3: And I was so jealous I didn't have it. I
- 35:24Speaker 3: should have had one. I really should have.
- 35:26Speaker 2: Yeah, the one thing I didn't have was dessert. I
- 35:28Speaker 2: was like, enough is enough.
- 35:29Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah.
- 35:29Speaker 2: Like, enough is enough.
- 35:30Speaker 3: I brought dessert home. Oh, my God. It took me
- 35:33Speaker 3: three days to eat that fucking cake pie thingy. Whatever
- 35:37Speaker 3: the heck it was, it was so good.
- 35:38Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. Also, unrelated.
- 35:44Speaker 4: Yes.
- 35:44Speaker 2: But it's just something I want to just keep bringing
- 35:48Speaker 2: up because it's something I want to keep track of.
- 35:51Speaker 2: I am up to seven weeks and... Four days?
- 35:55Speaker 3: No shit.
- 35:56Speaker 2: Without missing a day.
- 35:57Speaker 3: That's awesome, dude.
- 36:00Speaker 2: Now, I almost... I count the day of the book
- 36:04Speaker 2: festival because I walked at least a mile and a half.
- 36:07Speaker 3: And you're carrying shit.
- 36:09Speaker 2: Yeah, that was an exhausting fucking day. I did a
- 36:12Speaker 2: lot of work. I feel like I got my workout in.
- 36:15Speaker 2: But every other day, every single other day, I actually
- 36:18Speaker 2: got on the cycle or went for a walk. One
- 36:20Speaker 2: of the two.
- 36:21Speaker 1: And.
- 36:22Speaker 2: Yeah. No, it's still going. It's still going well. And
- 36:25Speaker 2: I just wanted to keep that little update in there.
- 36:28Speaker 2: It feels like the mailbag is a good place to
- 36:30Speaker 2: put that.
- 36:30Speaker 3: No, it is. I like having the update. I think
- 36:32Speaker 3: that's wonderful.
- 36:33Speaker 2: Almost two months. Almost two full months.
- 36:36Speaker 3: Dude, that's strong, man. What was your record before when
- 36:39Speaker 3: you did the walking back in the day?
- 36:40Speaker 2: Oh, Jesus. I don't think I stuck to it for
- 36:42Speaker 2: two months. I don't think so. It might have been
- 36:43Speaker 2: a month, maybe.
- 36:44Speaker 3: A month and a half. I was going to say,
- 36:46Speaker 3: you're doing a lot better.
- 36:47Speaker 2: And it wasn't every day. Right. No. I think it
- 36:49Speaker 2: was three times a week, maybe.
- 36:50Speaker 5: Right.
- 36:50Speaker 2: It was something smaller.
- 36:51Speaker 1: Right.
- 36:52Speaker 2: But, yeah, no, it wasn't consistent.
- 36:55Speaker 3: Right, yes. And that's what you need is consistency.
- 36:58Speaker 2: I've somehow managed to stick to it because I never
- 37:00Speaker 2: stick to, like, exercise routines or any of it. Right.
- 37:04Speaker 2: So this is, like, probably the longest I've ever managed it.
- 37:07Speaker 2: So I just want to keep track of how long
- 37:09Speaker 2: I can keep going without missing a day.
- 37:11Speaker 3: Hell, yes, dude. You got to set those goals for yourself, man.
- 37:15Speaker 3: It really does give you something to shoot for.
- 37:17Speaker 2: Well, also, it's kind of a micro goal. Cause literally
- 37:20Speaker 2: every day is like just one more day. Like I
- 37:23Speaker 2: just have to do it one more time and I
- 37:24Speaker 2: just get another day.
- 37:25Speaker 3: It's almost like with AA.
- 37:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 37:28Speaker 3: As weird as it is, like it's like, Oh, just,
- 37:31Speaker 3: you can go one more minute.
- 37:32Speaker 2: Okay.
- 37:32Speaker 3: You can go one more hour, you know, you can
- 37:33Speaker 3: do one more day. Cause I would like.
- 37:36Speaker 2: To experience being skinny or you know what? A healthy weight.
- 37:40Speaker 2: Let's put it that way. I would like to experience
- 37:42Speaker 2: being a healthy weight for the first time in my
- 37:44Speaker 2: fucking life.
- 37:45Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 37:45Speaker 2: Although I got pretty close in college.
- 37:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 37:48Speaker 2: Um, anyway, Yeah, so that's our mailbag and my physical
- 37:52Speaker 2: fitness update.
- 37:53Speaker 3: Keep going, dude. Yeah, no, I'm going to keep going.
- 37:55Speaker 2: I'm not stopping. Fuck that. Okay. Back to our show. Hey,
- 38:03Speaker 2: you there.
- 38:04Speaker 10: We've got a question for you. Are you tired of
- 38:06Speaker 10: clickbait stories and the loudest voices driving discussions and culture
- 38:10Speaker 10: and entertainment?
- 38:11Speaker 3: If so, I'm Dylan.
- 38:13Speaker 10: I'm Kendall.
- 38:14Speaker 3: And I'm Corey.
- 38:14Speaker 8: And we host the podcast From the Middle.
- 38:17Speaker 2: We're middle-class guys living in the middle of America, in
- 38:20Speaker 2: the middle chapters of our lives with points of view
- 38:22Speaker 2: somewhere in the middle.
- 38:24Speaker 8: We take a more reasonable and centrist approach in our
- 38:27Speaker 8: discussions covering genres like comedy, culture, entertainment, and interviews with
- 38:33Speaker 8: really interesting folks like business owners, comic creators, doctors, news anchors,
- 38:37Speaker 8: New York Times bestselling illustrators, professional stand-up comics, and more.
- 38:43Speaker 8: We really value a relaxed and conversational podcast. One that
- 38:47Speaker 8: we hope is so fun and laid back, you'll forget
- 38:50Speaker 8: you're not actually hanging out with us.
- 38:52Speaker 10: So search at FromTheMidPod, just like it sounds, or check
- 38:56Speaker 10: us out everywhere you can find podcasts.
- 39:00Speaker 3: Hey, if you're in the Western New York area and
- 39:02Speaker 3: you are a fan of the green, head on over
- 39:05Speaker 3: to Peace, Love, and Bud at 320 Self Transit Road
- 39:08Speaker 3: in Lockport, New York. Tell them BFYTW sent you. Maybe
- 39:12Speaker 3: they'll hook you up.
- 39:24Speaker 2: Hey, man, welcome back. It's time for game two. Game
- 39:28Speaker 2: two is going to be Pop Culture Fight Club.
- 39:30Speaker 3: Yeah let's do it let's do it i've been stretching
- 39:32Speaker 3: all week ready.
- 39:34Speaker 2: For those who don't know this this game was quote
- 39:36Speaker 2: unquote donated to us by colin max thank you so
- 39:39Speaker 2: much colin uh it was his proposal and we've made
- 39:42Speaker 2: it such a regular game i think we've done it
- 39:44Speaker 2: like It's one of our permanent regulars now.
- 39:48Speaker 1: It is.
- 39:49Speaker 3: It's wonderful.
- 39:51Speaker 2: And the way it works is very simple. I'm going
- 39:52Speaker 2: to ask our players a question just about pop culture
- 39:56Speaker 2: in general and just ask them to give me their
- 39:58Speaker 2: favorite answer for that particular category. They'll then have to
- 40:01Speaker 2: defend that answer. We can interrogate them and try and
- 40:04Speaker 2: push back and see if they're able to actually defend
- 40:08Speaker 2: their ideas. Um, whichever player managed to convince me that
- 40:11Speaker 2: their favorite is the best wins the game and earns
- 40:14Speaker 2: two episode points. So for this episode, in honor of
- 40:17Speaker 2: our BFYTW on the clock tower games, I want to
- 40:20Speaker 2: ask who is the best minion? Villains need minions to
- 40:26Speaker 2: set up their grand plans to help hoodwink the heroes
- 40:29Speaker 2: and clean up the resulting mess. But who was the
- 40:33Speaker 2: absolute best evil minion of all time? Now, minions from
- 40:38Speaker 2: Despicable Me do not count. They are OP.
- 40:41Speaker 5: Fair. Yeah, they're unkillable.
- 40:45Speaker 2: They're in a league of their own, and so that's unfair.
- 40:48Speaker 2: It would be like the first person to go would
- 40:50Speaker 2: just instantly win. So I'm looking for a specific other minion.
- 40:56Speaker 2: It can be a single person, a single unit, if
- 41:01Speaker 2: they have a name or a character or whatever, or
- 41:03Speaker 2: it can be like a type. You know, a minion,
- 41:06Speaker 2: you know, if you have something that specifically like floats
- 41:10Speaker 2: your boat or whatever. But I want to hear your
- 41:14Speaker 2: best minion. And Augie, since you lost last game, you
- 41:17Speaker 2: have the choice. Do you want to go first or
- 41:19Speaker 2: do you want to make Stevie go first?
- 41:20Speaker 4: I'll make Stevie go first.
- 41:22Speaker 2: All right, Stevie. What is the best evil minion of
- 41:26Speaker 2: all time?
- 41:27Speaker 1: Navi.
- 41:28Speaker 3: The fucking fair... No, joking.
- 41:31Speaker 5: Technically, yes.
- 41:34Speaker 3: She makes the good pure kid want to kill people.
- 41:37Speaker 2: That's pretty good.
- 41:38Speaker 3: Okay, so... God damn it. I might actually change the
- 41:41Speaker 3: thing I was thinking about earlier now. Yeah, maybe. But
- 41:45Speaker 3: it did say evil minion. So I can't do this,
- 41:48Speaker 3: but I'm going to say it anyway just because he
- 41:50Speaker 3: is the best minion I can think of. Just for
- 41:52Speaker 3: this port, it's not my actual answer. Because without this minion...
- 41:57Speaker 3: I couldn't do 99% of the shit that we have
- 42:00Speaker 3: to do, go places, do things. I'm going to say Augie.
- 42:02Speaker 3: Augie's the best minion. In everything. When you're playing video games,
- 42:07Speaker 3: he can fucking learn the game in an instant. Come on, man.
- 42:11Speaker 3: He can get me not.
- 42:12Speaker 1: Lost anywhere, no matter what city you're in.
- 42:15Speaker 3: Then for fucking walking three miles one time, he can
- 42:19Speaker 3: trace every step back.
- 42:20Speaker 2: First of all, you're not a villain. Second of all,
- 42:23Speaker 2: it is called pop culture for a reason.
- 42:26Speaker 3: I know, but I have to give Augie props of minioning.
- 42:29Speaker 4: He knows why I'm making him go first.
- 42:32Speaker 3: I had to think a little bit more. Okay, so no,
- 42:35Speaker 3: but thank you, Augie, for being a great minion. My
- 42:38Speaker 3: real answer is going to be Mini-Me.
- 42:41Speaker 2: Oh, okay. Mini-Me is a good choice.
- 42:46Speaker 3: What else is more perfect for an evil mastermind than themselves?
- 42:53Speaker 3: When you think about it that way, they never really
- 42:55Speaker 3: had a companion that lasted. But when you're bringing yourself
- 42:59Speaker 3: into it that has the same ambitions as you, you
- 43:02Speaker 3: can look at it in the mirror like, that's me. Yeah,
- 43:05Speaker 3: one-eighth my size, but still me, you know?
- 43:08Speaker 1: And that meaning itself is so adaptable that he can
- 43:12Speaker 1: switch to another side and still take the likenesses and
- 43:15Speaker 1: stuff of the other players in that world.
- 43:19Speaker 3: Like, Mini-Me was wonderful. He did everything he could to
- 43:23Speaker 3: get the love and admiration he needed From at the start, Dr. Evil,
- 43:28Speaker 3: and then later on, Austin Powers. And that whole franchise
- 43:34Speaker 3: would be, I mean, I'm not saying it would be
- 43:36Speaker 3: nothing without him, but from that point on, him coming in,
- 43:39Speaker 3: it wouldn't have been the same. I can tell you
- 43:40Speaker 3: right the fuck now, it wouldn't.
- 43:42Speaker 2: Dr.
- 43:42Speaker 3: Evil, when it came close to any of the things
- 43:44Speaker 3: without him, and Austin Powers wouldn't have been able to
- 43:47Speaker 3: complete and save the world without Mini-Me switching sides to
- 43:51Speaker 3: become a clone of him.
- 43:53Speaker 2: Okay.
- 43:54Speaker 1: Whereas most Groot and all that shit were enemies and
- 43:56Speaker 1: turned good, too, so that doesn't count.
- 43:58Speaker 3: All right. So you can't hit me for that.
- 44:00Speaker 2: What I can hit you for is, does that not
- 44:04Speaker 2: make him a bad minion?
- 44:06Speaker 11: No.
- 44:06Speaker 2: If he switches to the side of good.
- 44:08Speaker 4: Why?
- 44:08Speaker 3: All the minions in the Disney things, they all switch
- 44:10Speaker 3: to good at some point. Mastermind, freaking the minions.
- 44:16Speaker 2: Also, how much exactly did Mini-Me do?
- 44:20Speaker 3: Enough to foil a bunch of shit.
- 44:22Speaker 2: I remember a lot of him being thrown and kicked around.
- 44:25Speaker 3: Yeah, but he also gave the plans to get into
- 44:27Speaker 3: that submarine. That he gave it to Foxy.
- 44:29Speaker 2: Alright, I don't remember, but I'll take your word for it.
- 44:32Speaker 3: Yeah, that's how they got in, because he switched sides.
- 44:34Speaker 3: In the hotel room when they were fighting each other,
- 44:35Speaker 3: Austin and him. He put him in a bag and
- 44:37Speaker 3: started smacking him around. It wasn't a bag, it was
- 44:42Speaker 3: a pillowcase.
- 44:45Speaker 2: Augie, do you want to push back against his minion
- 44:48Speaker 2: choice at all?
- 44:50Speaker 4: So just him, right?
- 44:52Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm just doing the single.
- 44:53Speaker 5: I mean, there are other minions that Dr.
- 44:55Speaker 4: Evil has.
- 44:56Speaker 3: True. Stereotypical incompetence.
- 45:00Speaker 4: Number two.
- 45:01Speaker 3: Number two.
- 45:02Speaker 4: Good evening, number two.
- 45:07Speaker 2: Frau Furbissena? Is that her name?
- 45:11Speaker 3: She was just awesome I mean that whole group was
- 45:16Speaker 3: as a team and Scott holy fuck Scott like genius
- 45:20Speaker 3: I'm just gonna say straight up genius yeah more of
- 45:23Speaker 3: that please guys keep making that.
- 45:27Speaker 2: I will admit they seemed like a team of good
- 45:29Speaker 2: minions yeah so with that in mind Augie it's your
- 45:36Speaker 2: turn can you best that.
- 45:37Speaker 5: Okay do you want a specific minion or a team
- 45:40Speaker 5: of minions is fine A.
- 45:41Speaker 2: Team of minions would be fine as long as you
- 45:44Speaker 2: can convince me they're the best.
- 45:46Speaker 5: I mean, I could tell you all about them, honestly.
- 45:49Speaker 5: They're probably one of my favorite minions and I honestly
- 45:51Speaker 5: think are the best just because of their success rate
- 45:55Speaker 5: and based on their loyalty alone. Bowser's minions, a.k.a. the
- 46:01Speaker 5: Koopa Troop, a.k.a. Team Bowser, a.k.a. once upon a time
- 46:06Speaker 5: was actually known as Turtle Empire.
- 46:08Speaker 3: Okay.
- 46:09Speaker 9: Damn damn i didn't know they were called turtle empire
- 46:13Speaker 9: yeah and like if you if you've ever seen a
- 46:16Speaker 9: mario game with and if you ever look at like
- 46:18Speaker 9: bowser has a lot of minions like to just to
- 46:21Speaker 9: kind of scrape the surface he's.
- 46:22Speaker 5: Got koopa koopa troopas he's got hammer bros goombas he's
- 46:27Speaker 5: got shy guys magic koopas who is his uh he's
- 46:31Speaker 5: got a head magic koopa named uh kamek who's like
- 46:36Speaker 5: One of his most loyal subjects is his number two.
- 46:38Speaker 5: He's the one that does all the magic shit that
- 46:40Speaker 5: basically carries out all the schemes, events, stuff for him,
- 46:44Speaker 5: all that shit like that. He's got Koopalings. Koopalings include
- 46:49Speaker 5: freaking Bowser Jr.
- 46:53Speaker 2: includes Larry.
- 46:54Speaker 4: Morton, Wendy, Iggy, Roy, Lemmy, and Ludwig.
- 46:59Speaker 2: All of his kids.
- 47:00Speaker 4: All of his fucking kids, all eight of them.
- 47:02Speaker 2: That he supposedly had with Princess Peach, by the way. Allegedly. Allegedly.
- 47:06Speaker 3: Allegedly. Did he lay the egg?
- 47:09Speaker 5: It's not very well explained.
- 47:11Speaker 2: She inseminated him, yeah. That's exactly how that works.
- 47:14Speaker 1: It's not explained at all.
- 47:15Speaker 2: She's a futa. She has been for.
- 47:17Speaker 3: That's why you don't kiss girls, guys. They'll pregnant you.
- 47:21Speaker 3: That's how you lay eggs. Don't let them kiss you.
- 47:23Speaker 2: That's why you don't kiss people.
- 47:24Speaker 1: You get cooties and then you start laying eggs.
- 47:28Speaker 4: Horrible. Pretty sure that's how Birdo does it.
- 47:29Speaker 2: This is why you don't kiss cousins.
- 47:32Speaker 3: You saw Birdo, yeah.
- 47:33Speaker 4: Birdo does it.
- 47:34Speaker 2: You don't kiss cousins.
- 47:38Speaker 5: But yeah, every single one of them are like, even the,
- 47:43Speaker 5: especially the Koopalings, the eight of them, especially Bowser Jr.,
- 47:48Speaker 5: they're all capable of going off and doing their own things. Jr.
- 47:53Speaker 5: even proved to be on par with Mario. In many cases.
- 47:57Speaker 3: Wow.
- 47:59Speaker 5: Yeah, and I believe that they are probably one of
- 48:02Speaker 5: the best minions just simply because even when they fail,
- 48:07Speaker 5: they still remain loyal to him to the point where
- 48:09Speaker 5: they've conquered now galaxies.
- 48:13Speaker 2: Okay. I guess I would turn around and ask, don't
- 48:18Speaker 2: they always get their ass kicked?
- 48:20Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 48:21Speaker 5: Not always, because if they did, how come he continues
- 48:24Speaker 5: to be more and more successful? He does fail in
- 48:28Speaker 5: the times that Mario interjects, but every other time he's succeeding.
- 48:32Speaker 5: When Mario's not there, he's crushing it. Mario's the only
- 48:35Speaker 5: one who can stop him.
- 48:37Speaker 3: He's got a point.
- 48:37Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 48:39Speaker 3: He's right.
- 48:40Speaker 5: They can't even stop their... Literally, his minions run rampant.
- 48:47Speaker 5: No one else can handle his minions except for Mario
- 48:50Speaker 5: in the game.
- 48:50Speaker 2: Right.
- 48:51Speaker 5: Same thing with Bowser. You don't see fucking Toad going
- 48:55Speaker 5: toe-to-toe with Bowser or any of the Toadstools going toe-to-toe
- 48:59Speaker 5: with Bowser.
- 48:59Speaker 3: That's Mario 2.
- 49:00Speaker 5: Yeah, that's Mario 2.
- 49:03Speaker 4: But that's different.
- 49:06Speaker 3: If you could say one negative thing about your minions,
- 49:10Speaker 3: what would they be?
- 49:13Speaker 5: Probably the fact is that they do seem loyal to
- 49:17Speaker 5: a fault. They willingly go in waves without thinking. Though
- 49:26Speaker 5: it has been shown that Bowser has protected them in
- 49:30Speaker 5: some cases or led them as a general would lead
- 49:33Speaker 5: his forces kind of thing. He's never sacrificed them. Or
- 49:39Speaker 5: anything like that. They just seem to always done it themselves.
- 49:42Speaker 4: Okay.
- 49:43Speaker 3: That's a good answer. All you get is points.
- 49:49Speaker 2: Well, I haven't decided yet whether or not I fully
- 49:54Speaker 2: agree with that.
- 49:54Speaker 3: Well, what's yours then?
- 49:58Speaker 2: Initially, when I posed the question, I couldn't think of
- 50:00Speaker 2: anybody but shitty minions.
- 50:03Speaker 3: Why didn't you just change it to shitty minions?
- 50:06Speaker 2: The one that kept popping in my head, and it's
- 50:10Speaker 2: mostly because he just recently passed, was Tim Curry as
- 50:14Speaker 2: the minion in The Shadow. Which is an absolutely god-awful movie.
- 50:19Speaker 2: It is absolutely, genuinely terrible.
- 50:22Speaker 5: The Shadow?
- 50:23Speaker 3: What the heck?
- 50:24Speaker 2: Yeah, the radio superhero. Yeah. Yeah, Alec Baldwin.
- 50:28Speaker 4: Holy fuck, yes.
- 50:29Speaker 2: Alec Baldwin plays The Shadow.
- 50:31Speaker 4: Oh my god, I forgot about that fucking movie.
- 50:34Speaker 2: It's an absolutely terrible movie. It is god-awful. I would
- 50:37Speaker 2: not wish it on my worst enemy. But it has
- 50:43Speaker 2: Tim Curry in it. And he plays this slimy, shady
- 50:47Speaker 2: piece of shit, like, number two. And he winds up, like,
- 50:53Speaker 2: his mind breaking and, like, undescribable fluid, like, dripping down
- 51:02Speaker 2: his head. Like, I don't know if his brain is
- 51:05Speaker 2: just leaking out or what the fuck they're trying to
- 51:07Speaker 2: go with here. But his mind literally breaks. He just
- 51:09Speaker 2: starts screaming and, like, throws himself out a window. And
- 51:12Speaker 2: that's it for the poor guy. And I'm just like, okay.
- 51:17Speaker 3: Sure.
- 51:17Speaker 2: Like, I mean, aside from being played by Tim Curry,
- 51:20Speaker 2: you were pointless. And he didn't really do anything. He
- 51:25Speaker 2: seemed to fail at everything. Like, he just seemed to
- 51:27Speaker 2: be like a shitty minion. And then the best one
- 51:30Speaker 2: that I could think of that I don't know if
- 51:33Speaker 2: it trumps either of yours, honestly, but I can't get
- 51:36Speaker 2: him out of my head, is Bob from the 1989
- 51:39Speaker 2: Batman movie. Oh, my God, Bob. Joker's number two.
- 51:46Speaker 5: No, Bob.
- 51:47Speaker 3: I like this one. He's about to cut that fucking
- 51:49Speaker 3: one painting.
- 51:50Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah.
- 51:50Speaker 2: Bob is genuinely, he takes orders.
- 51:55Speaker 3: I think that would win out of ours.
- 51:56Speaker 2: He takes orders. He does his job well. He even
- 51:59Speaker 2: captures and holds Bruce Wayne at one point.
- 52:03Speaker 3: All the photo investigation he did.
- 52:05Speaker 2: He is thoroughly effective.
- 52:07Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 52:07Speaker 2: And he's completely loyal to Joker to the point where
- 52:10Speaker 2: he doesn't even think twice about handing Joker his gun
- 52:14Speaker 2: in the parade. And Joker repays him by killing him
- 52:18Speaker 2: right there.
- 52:18Speaker 1: Which.
- 52:20Speaker 2: genuinely made me mad watching that movie for the first
- 52:23Speaker 2: time i'm like he did his job he was good
- 52:27Speaker 2: at his job and he did it for you and
- 52:30Speaker 2: this is how you repay i just remember being infuriated
- 52:34Speaker 2: justice for bob bob was a good minion and.
- 52:37Speaker 4: Deserved i agree.
- 52:40Speaker 5: Yes but if you wanted bad me that's you could
- 52:43Speaker 5: have just asked.
- 52:43Speaker 4: Because i would just said pinky from pinky in the brain.
- 52:48Speaker 3: Fuck.
- 52:49Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, technically he's probably the worst of all time.
- 52:53Speaker 3: Oh, my God.
- 52:54Speaker 5: He's probably the only reason why they're still in that
- 52:57Speaker 5: fucking cage.
- 52:58Speaker 2: I mean, honest to God, yeah, they should have escaped
- 53:00Speaker 2: so many times over.
- 53:00Speaker 3: To be fair, though, he could have won a bunch
- 53:03Speaker 3: of shit. Like that Jeopardy episode. He came out of
- 53:05Speaker 3: the double jeopardy. He would have had enough money to
- 53:07Speaker 3: buy all the science shit they needed.
- 53:09Speaker 2: But he still fucked it up. Yep.
- 53:10Speaker 3: No, he didn't.
- 53:11Speaker 1: Pinky knew the answer.
- 53:12Speaker 3: Brain fucked it up.
- 53:14Speaker 2: Yeah. Oh, wow.
- 53:15Speaker 3: Yeah, it was fucked up.
- 53:16Speaker 2: I need to go back and rewatch that episode.
- 53:17Speaker 3: That shit's fucking amazing.
- 53:18Speaker 2: In any event, I need to choose between Mini-Me and the.
- 53:24Speaker 1: Mini-anyone.
- 53:25Speaker 2: And the Koopa Gang. I am reluctantly going to go
- 53:29Speaker 2: with the Koopa Gang.
- 53:30Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 53:35Speaker 2: Because I genuinely was thinking about it in terms of
- 53:39Speaker 2: who does their evil villain the best... service? Like who,
- 53:43Speaker 2: who actually provides like, and I was trying to think
- 53:47Speaker 2: of a minion who like after their villain died or
- 53:50Speaker 2: lost to the hero, the minion actually successfully sets off
- 53:54Speaker 2: whatever the villain was trying to do. There has to
- 53:57Speaker 2: have been a movie or a story where that happened.
- 54:00Speaker 2: I can't, I can't think of it. It's driving me crazy.
- 54:04Speaker 2: If you know of one, please write us, send us
- 54:06Speaker 2: an email at BFYTWpodcast at gmail.com. Or leave us a
- 54:10Speaker 2: voicemail on our website, bfytwpod.com, in the contact us section.
- 54:14Speaker 2: And tell me your favorite minion. If there's a minion
- 54:17Speaker 2: that fits the description that I've just described, someone who
- 54:20Speaker 2: successfully sets off their villain's plans after the villain is
- 54:23Speaker 2: no longer able to, that would be a damn good minion. Generally,
- 54:28Speaker 2: we appreciate all of your ideas, but I am most
- 54:30Speaker 2: interested in that one because my brain can't think of one.
- 54:33Speaker 3: Star Wars. All the Sith.
- 54:35Speaker 2: I mean, yeah. But even Darth Vader eventually turns. He
- 54:40Speaker 2: eventually turns to the good side. And that's the reason
- 54:42Speaker 2: why I voted against Mini-Me.
- 54:43Speaker 3: After he kills how many kids, how many Jedi?
- 54:46Speaker 2: Because Mini-Me betrays his villain. He betrays his master.
- 54:52Speaker 3: Or brings him around to the good side later.
- 54:55Speaker 2: I mean, yes, later on he does bring him around
- 54:57Speaker 2: to the good side in the third movie. But... I
- 55:00Speaker 2: was looking at it in terms of who actually, yeah,
- 55:05Speaker 2: who sticks to their master's plans and actually does fruitful
- 55:09Speaker 2: actions to make them come about. And to me, that's Bob.
- 55:14Speaker 3: That's 100% Bob.
- 55:15Speaker 2: 100% Bob.
- 55:16Speaker 3: Oh, my God.
- 55:17Speaker 2: The Joker in that movie could not have done what
- 55:19Speaker 2: he did without Bob. End of.
- 55:21Speaker 3: No way.
- 55:22Speaker 2: I'm still mad about it. I'm still mad about it.
- 55:26Speaker 2: In any event, Augie's going to win that game. He
- 55:28Speaker 2: gets two episode points. It is two to one. We
- 55:31Speaker 2: are going to have a winner. There's going to be
- 55:32Speaker 2: no ties for this one. And we're going to play
- 55:35Speaker 2: game three. We're three episode points right after this.
- 55:38Speaker 6: If you're into recreational cannabis and are in Lewiston, New York,
- 55:51Speaker 6: near the Tuscarora Native Reservation, check out Weedstock. These guys
- 55:56Speaker 6: have the prime herb. On top of that, they have concentrates, vapes, edibles,
- 56:00Speaker 6: practically anything you want. So go hit up Weedstock in Lewiston,
- 56:04Speaker 6: New York. Tell them BFYTW sent you.
- 56:17Speaker 5: Hell yeah, man.
- 56:17Speaker 2: Welcome back. It's time for game three. Game three is
- 56:20Speaker 2: going to be four out of five dentists.
- 56:22Speaker 3: Dentists. Dentists rock, yo.
- 56:24Speaker 2: I have got five surveys here. You guys are going
- 56:27Speaker 2: to take turns. You guys are going to take turns
- 56:29Speaker 2: guessing the exact percentage of a result of those surveys.
- 56:32Speaker 2: And if you get within 10% high or low, you
- 56:35Speaker 2: get a point. The other player will then guess whether
- 56:38Speaker 2: the true percentage is higher or lower than your guess.
- 56:41Speaker 2: And if they're correct, they get a point. After five surveys,
- 56:44Speaker 2: the player with the most points wins this game and
- 56:46Speaker 2: gets three episode points. So that having been said, Stevie,
- 56:51Speaker 2: you lost the last game. You have the choice. Do
- 56:53Speaker 2: you want to guess the exact percentage first or do
- 56:56Speaker 2: you want to go higher or lower first?
- 56:57Speaker 3: Higher or lower first, please.
- 56:58Speaker 5: Okay.
- 56:59Speaker 2: In that case, Augie, this is going to be your survey. Mr.
- 57:02Speaker 3: Gets them right on every time.
- 57:04Speaker 2: Augie, according to a September 26th YouGov survey, what percentage
- 57:09Speaker 2: of American men say that women are more advantaged in
- 57:14Speaker 2: society than men?
- 57:18Speaker 3: What?
- 57:19Speaker 2: In 26? What percentage of American men say women have
- 57:22Speaker 2: it better and have more advantages in society than men?
- 57:26Speaker 4: Like, I'll just say 37% in a row. 37% says Augie.
- 57:28Speaker 2: Stevie, is it higher or lower than 37%?
- 57:39Speaker 3: Personally, I don't think it's higher than that, but I
- 57:41Speaker 3: have a feeling it's going to be higher because people
- 57:44Speaker 3: are stupid.
- 57:44Speaker 4: Women are advantaged in any form of society.
- 57:46Speaker 3: I'm going to say higher. I don't think this, but
- 57:48Speaker 3: I think the survey is going to say higher.
- 57:50Speaker 4: You are shitting yourselves.
- 57:52Speaker 2: Exactly. The exact percentage of American men who say that
- 57:56Speaker 2: women have it better is 20%. Oh, thank God.
- 58:01Speaker 3: I'm okay with losing the point.
- 58:03Speaker 2: It is not within 10 or higher low.
- 58:05Speaker 5: It is.
- 58:06Speaker 2: It is lower, not higher, so neither of you gets
- 58:09Speaker 2: a point. And 20% of American men are wrong. Yeah.
- 58:14Speaker 2: Just flat out wrong.
- 58:15Speaker 3: Except for those two men who live in that Amazon island.
- 58:18Speaker 5: Look, I apologize to the 17% of men that I
- 58:20Speaker 5: thought were also part of that.
- 58:21Speaker 2: Epstein Island?
- 58:22Speaker 3: What the fuck? Oh, I said Amazon.
- 58:24Speaker 1: Amazon.
- 58:26Speaker 3: Like Wonder Woman and shit.
- 58:28Speaker 2: The fuck are you talking about?
- 58:30Speaker 3: What are you talking about?
- 58:31Speaker 2: Stevie, this is your survey.
- 58:32Speaker 3: Okay.
- 58:33Speaker 2: According to a September 2026 YouGov survey, what percentage of
- 58:37Speaker 2: American millennials say that when considering what beverage to buy
- 58:41Speaker 2: or consume, they would consider Gatorade?
- 58:45Speaker 3: They would consider Gatorade.
- 58:46Speaker 2: Yeah, what percentage of American millennials say that when thinking
- 58:50Speaker 2: about what to drink, they would think about Gatorade?
- 58:54Speaker 4: And then I think about H2O.
- 58:56Speaker 2: And then I think about Gatorade.
- 58:58Speaker 3: Gatorade.
- 58:59Speaker 2: H2O. Gatorade.
- 59:02Speaker 3: I'm going to watch this shit again. I'm going to
- 59:06Speaker 3: say 49%.
- 59:06Speaker 1: 49%.
- 59:10Speaker 2: 49 49 says stevie augie you think it's actually higher
- 59:13Speaker 2: or lower than 49 probably higher going higher all right
- 59:18Speaker 2: the exact percentage of american millennials who say when considering
- 59:21Speaker 2: what beverage to buy or consume they would consider gatorade
- 59:25Speaker 2: is 42%, which is within 10%, so Stevie does get
- 59:30Speaker 2: a point.
- 59:30Speaker 3: Oh, my God.
- 59:31Speaker 2: But it is not higher. It is lower, so no
- 59:34Speaker 2: point for Augie.
- 59:35Speaker 4: That's also surprising, right?
- 59:37Speaker 2: Let's move on to our next survey. Augie, this is yours.
- 59:41Speaker 2: According to a September 26th YouGov survey, what percentage of
- 59:46Speaker 2: Americans with a family income of $ 50, 000 or less.
- 59:51Speaker 2: Say that they never use AI to write anything? What
- 59:57Speaker 2: percentage of the American poor say they never use AI
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: to write anything? 73%. 73% says Augie.
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: Stevie, what say you?
- 1:00:07Speaker 4: I'm going to have to say.
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: Less than that.
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: You're going less than 73%? All right. Well, according to
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: a September 2026 YouGov survey, the percentage of Americans with
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: a family income of $ 50, 000 or less who say that
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: they never use AI to write anything, 60% flat. Wow.
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: Augie was just outside of the 10.
- 1:00:42Speaker 3: You've got to be kidding me.
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: But Stevie is right. It is lower.
- 1:00:46Speaker 4: Damn.
- 1:00:48Speaker 3: Shit.
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: Yeah, anything higher than $ 50, 000, they said 43%. So if
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: you're middle class or higher, you are more likely to
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: use AI.
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: Because you have a computer.
- 1:01:02Speaker 4: To think for you instead of thinking for yourself.
- 1:01:05Speaker 3: That's weird. I just don't like it.
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: I don't like it either. It's fucking dumb.
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: Let's go back to walkie-talkies, guys.
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: It puts out endless amounts of slop. The industry cannot
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: sustain itself. It's doing so much bad to the environment.
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: There are so many reasons why it's awful. Let's move
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: on or else I'll never stop talking about it.
- 1:01:26Speaker 3: That's fair.
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: Stevie, this is your survey. According to a June 2026
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: YouGov poll, what percentage of Americans say that they have
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: personally felt the effects of climate change? They have personally
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: felt the effects of climate change.
- 1:01:44Speaker 3: I know we have.
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: Oh, wow.
- 1:01:47Speaker 3: I'm going to say 72%. 72% says Stevie. Yes, I
- 1:01:52Speaker 3: think that's a good number. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: Is the real percentage higher or lower than 72? I'm
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: going to.
- 1:01:59Speaker 4: Say lower.
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:02:01Speaker 4: Don't think by much.
- 1:02:03Speaker 3: No, yeah, yeah.
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: According to a June 2026 YouGov poll, the percentage of
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: Americans who say they personally felt the effects of climate change... 55%. What?
- 1:02:13Speaker 3: I'm fucking liars.
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: So Stevie is not within 10, but Augie is right.
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: He is lower.
- 1:02:18Speaker 3: Very nice.
- 1:02:19Speaker 4: I don't feel like I should be right for that.
- 1:02:20Speaker 3: I know.
- 1:02:21Speaker 4: It shouldn't be half of everybody being like, oh, yeah.
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: Here's our final survey, and the results of this really
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: do matter. It is a one-point game. Oh, wow. Augie,
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: this is yours. According to an August 2026 YouGov survey,
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: what percentage of Americans say that toy tool sets... are
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: for both boys and girls. 48%. 48%, says Augie. Stevie.
- 1:02:55Speaker 3: You said Americans, not a specific state, right?
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: Yep, just Americans.
- 1:02:58Speaker 3: I'm going to say it's higher than that.
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: You're going to say it's higher.
- 1:03:00Speaker 3: Yes, I am.
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: Augie said 48%. The actual percentage of Americans who say
- 1:03:06Speaker 2: that toy tool sets are for both boys and girls...
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: is 74%. Good, good. Not within 10 for Augie, but
- 1:03:17Speaker 2: it is higher. And Stevie, with three points to one,
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: you've won this game. And you've won the episode four
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: points to two.
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: Oh, shoot. Good game, Aug. Good hosting, Aaron.
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: Thank you. Well done.
- 1:03:32Speaker 3: Well done. Cheers all around. I'm starting to.
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: Think that game should be longer.
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: Nah, that was good.
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: Feels like it goes quickly. Um, in any event, uh, yeah,
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: that's our game. Congratulations to Stevie for narrowly edging, edging
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: all you have.
- 1:03:46Speaker 3: I'm good at edging. What can I say? Whoa. I mean, uh, Hey, uh, okay.
- 1:03:51Speaker 2: So yeah, uh, it's been a wild ride and another
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: great episode. And, uh, I just gotta say, thank you
