- 0:04Speaker 1: but hailing from the city of Sins. Put your hands
- 0:06Speaker 1: together for Jamison will and in this then in his.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Five foot ten, weighing in at pound and.
- 0:13Speaker 1: Coming to us from his super secret bunker with no
- 0:16Speaker 1: AC in Tucson, Arizona. Put your hands together for Luis Montemao.
- 0:26Speaker 3: All right, thank you. Welcome back to another episode of
- 0:28Speaker 3: Mix Coompany podcast. On one half of the show, I'm Jamison.
- 0:31Speaker 3: I'm joined by Louise Luis uh, welcome to forty and
- 0:36Speaker 3: how was your trip?
- 0:37Speaker 2: First of all, holy crap amazing. So yes, I turned
- 0:40Speaker 2: forty years old Sunday, February eighth, so this past Sunday
- 0:44Speaker 2: before this is airing, and you know, I went to
- 0:47Speaker 2: San Juan, Puerto Rico to celebrate, and honestly, I'm not
- 0:50Speaker 2: even joking. It's probably the best birthday I've ever had.
- 0:54Speaker 2: It was so fun. I had never been to the
- 0:56Speaker 2: island before. I got to watch the Super Bowl with
- 1:00Speaker 2: the Puerto Ricans watching Bad Buddy. And you know, we've
- 1:04Speaker 2: talked on the show. But if we've said that, you know,
- 1:07Speaker 2: Puerto Rican boxing specifically there the Puerto Ricans will support
- 1:11Speaker 2: their fighters. They'll come out for each other. And I
- 1:13Speaker 2: knew that, but I didn't really know that until like
- 1:17Speaker 2: I was there, and man, there everybody that was super friendly.
- 1:22Speaker 2: They love their people, they love their island. They're so
- 1:25Speaker 2: goddamn proud of of, you know, of being Puerto Rican,
- 1:29Speaker 2: and it's it's a beautiful thing to to have experience.
- 1:32Speaker 2: And yeah, it's the eternal struggle of like, I want
- 1:36Speaker 2: to go back, but I also want to travel somewhere
- 1:38Speaker 2: new when I go somewhere else. But this is tell
- 1:42Speaker 2: a little bit more detail. But you know, this is
- 1:44Speaker 2: one of the best travel experiences I've ever had for
- 1:47Speaker 2: a specific So yeah, yeah, but yeah, and you know,
- 1:51Speaker 2: we'll we'll get into boxing and this will tie in
- 1:53Speaker 2: with more boxing a bit. But uh, you know, this
- 1:56Speaker 2: is the week where we can't ignore we are a
- 1:58Speaker 2: sports show. You know, did you watch the Super Bowl,
- 2:01Speaker 2: Jamison or you an NFL guy at all? I know
- 2:03Speaker 2: you're mostly basketball outside of it. Oh yeah, I follow
- 2:06Speaker 2: the NFL. I definitely watched the game. The halftime show
- 2:08Speaker 2: was really good, great production. Great.
- 2:11Speaker 3: Even if you couldn't understand Spanish, you can appreciate the
- 2:15Speaker 3: production and the energy of the show. I think that's
- 2:18Speaker 3: what more people have to understand. It's not all about
- 2:20Speaker 3: understanding the words of said songs. Because fit'sing different language
- 2:23Speaker 3: than you're a customs then it's not gonna be that.
- 2:25Speaker 3: But the energy, the production, the vision. It was tonight
- 2:30Speaker 3: ten it was amazing.
- 2:32Speaker 2: Like I.
- 2:34Speaker 3: Knew bad, but it was not new. Benido was nice.
- 2:36Speaker 3: I knew he was nice. I've seen the soldoul stadiums.
- 2:39Speaker 3: I'm very aware, Like I'm very very I never wanted
- 2:42Speaker 3: to a concert, but I've heard great things for people
- 2:44Speaker 3: that are in the music game and that I take
- 2:46Speaker 3: the news very seriously. When they called the best concert
- 2:49Speaker 3: that they've ever been to and best before have ever seen,
- 2:52Speaker 3: I'm like, okay. And then I saw what I saw Sunday,
- 2:55Speaker 3: I was like, ah, this is different, this is truly different.
- 2:58Speaker 2: Yeah, it was incredible. And I gotta say, you know,
- 3:01Speaker 2: all the people that were hitting on it because it's
- 3:03Speaker 2: in Spanish blah blah, you know that there's a lot
- 3:06Speaker 2: of stupid reactions where they were saying like, well, it's
- 3:09Speaker 2: just because you know, we want to hear something in
- 3:11Speaker 2: our language, like just or is it is it being
- 3:15Speaker 2: racist that we just don't know this guy it's like,
- 3:16Speaker 2: that's not what it's about. Okay, you can straight up
- 3:18Speaker 2: say like I don't know who bad Money is. You
- 3:21Speaker 2: can say I dislike his music. You can say I
- 3:22Speaker 2: hate his music. That's fine, that's not a problem. But
- 3:26Speaker 2: that's not what what y'all sons of bitches were doing.
- 3:28Speaker 2: You were straight up mad that there was a brown
- 3:30Speaker 2: man speaking Spanish and then you had to listen to it,
- 3:31Speaker 2: And all I gotta say is you're idiots because you
- 3:35Speaker 2: can't just experience joy, well, probably period, but specifically the
- 3:40Speaker 2: joy of that show. Like, what's wrong with you all?
- 3:44Speaker 2: You're just gonna die miserable?
- 3:46Speaker 3: You know, Luis, you have a very energetic personality, especially
- 3:51Speaker 3: when it comes about boxing, but it's in general you
- 3:53Speaker 3: have a good spirit about yourself. A lot of people
- 3:56Speaker 3: don't like they life, so when there's a chance in
- 3:58Speaker 3: a poop poo on something, they going to do it
- 4:00Speaker 3: to the umph degree. So a lot of people who
- 4:02Speaker 3: are not happy in life, they look for things that
- 4:05Speaker 3: they're not happy about and try to shut on it
- 4:07Speaker 3: all the way through.
- 4:09Speaker 2: So that's a big part of a lot of these
- 4:10Speaker 2: people who are miserable.
- 4:12Speaker 3: They're a miserable way before believing came about their lives
- 4:15Speaker 3: aren't messed up one way or another regardless.
- 4:17Speaker 2: So that's that's great, that's fair, and I totally understand that.
- 4:19Speaker 2: And you know, I just when people, yeah, are miserable
- 4:24Speaker 2: in their own lives, they always try to make everybody
- 4:25Speaker 2: else miserable. And you know, I said that there's some
- 4:28Speaker 2: people that just live their lives wrong. You know, it's
- 4:30Speaker 2: not a matter of like, you know, oh, I have
- 4:32Speaker 2: different pinion that. No, if you're the kind of person
- 4:33Speaker 2: who just wants to pooh poo things because you're miserable
- 4:36Speaker 2: and make everybody's life grapy, you're just living in your
- 4:38Speaker 2: life wrong. You're just bad at being an adult human person,
- 4:41Speaker 2: and you know, has loosen up and has to God,
- 4:43Speaker 2: get fun in your life. My God, right right right,
- 4:46Speaker 2: you know. But yeah, so I got to tell you this,
- 4:49Speaker 2: so one last thing about my trip, and we'll get
- 4:52Speaker 2: into the stories in the news, but uh, I actually
- 4:55Speaker 2: got to have the greatest experience while traveling because there's
- 4:57Speaker 2: a neighborhood in San Juan called La Perla the Pearl.
- 5:02Speaker 2: I'd heard about it from you know, my favorite band
- 5:04Speaker 2: is Puerto Rican Cayetre say they sing about it. It's
- 5:06Speaker 2: it's wild because it's not a toorist they placed at all.
- 5:09Speaker 2: It's walled off from the rest of the city because
- 5:13Speaker 2: back in the day, that's where the slaves used to
- 5:14Speaker 2: have to be. Any people of color used to have
- 5:16Speaker 2: to be there, apart from you know, the mainland. So
- 5:20Speaker 2: it literally walled off. You have to take stairs to
- 5:22Speaker 2: go down into La Pela, like there's a staircase. And
- 5:26Speaker 2: I was told, you know, the conventional wisdom is dangerous,
- 5:28Speaker 2: you know, just be there's drugs and there's gangs. So
- 5:31Speaker 2: I asked the local like, what's like, what's the real
- 5:33Speaker 2: story here, and they said, yes, there are drugs and gangs,
- 5:36Speaker 2: but you have to be respectful and you know, do
- 5:40Speaker 2: not take your phone out, do not take videos, do
- 5:42Speaker 2: not take pictures. Someone will come up to you and say,
- 5:45Speaker 2: oh yeah, buppy, and watch you delete that video off
- 5:48Speaker 2: of your phone and go into the deleted files and
- 5:52Speaker 2: trash can to make sure that it's gone. Yeah yeah,
- 5:54Speaker 2: they said, And by the way, they will not be asking.
- 5:57Speaker 2: So I was even told this might be a little
- 5:59Speaker 2: bit more visual for for you all who are watching
- 6:01Speaker 2: on YouTube. But when you answer a phone call, you
- 6:04Speaker 2: hold your phone covering the camera like this, right, so
- 6:08Speaker 2: you don't answer your phone like this, you put the
- 6:13Speaker 2: hand over the top part while you're talking and you're
- 6:15Speaker 2: walking around that that neighborhood. So that's that's how serious
- 6:17Speaker 2: it is. But Meda glasses. I saw a TikTok to
- 6:22Speaker 2: somebody with the Meda glasses and I was like, Bro,
- 6:23Speaker 2: that's you're gonna get in, Joel Bro, You're you're asking
- 6:26Speaker 2: for trouble. So I think I think people are gonna
- 6:30Speaker 2: start to get hip on the metaglasses and you might
- 6:32Speaker 2: be told like, oh, your puppy was because that's what
- 6:35Speaker 2: they got, a puppy. But yeah, so but I had
- 6:38Speaker 2: the best time at an amazing time. They have a
- 6:42Speaker 2: saying about that neighborhood, which is what the hardest thing
- 6:44Speaker 2: I've ever heard is whistle mean there, which means if
- 6:47Speaker 2: you go down there humble, you'll come back up humble.
- 6:50Speaker 2: That's fair, that's fair, right. So I told me that.
- 6:53Speaker 2: I was like, that's that's that's when we comble the
- 6:56Speaker 2: fucking bars. But yeah, so I told him like, look, man, hey,
- 6:59Speaker 2: you know I one, I don't do drugs. My drug
- 7:01Speaker 2: of choice is alcohol. So I just want to explore, travel,
- 7:04Speaker 2: have a good time, you know, find some new bars
- 7:07Speaker 2: in the neighborhood. So as long as everybody's cool with
- 7:09Speaker 2: me saying no too drugs while I'm out and I'm
- 7:13Speaker 2: not going to mess any with anybody, I'm cool. He's like, yeah,
- 7:15Speaker 2: you should be fine. Went down there. I got to
- 7:18Speaker 2: meet us a little nervous from the stories, but I
- 7:21Speaker 2: met this friendly bartender. I told her I was visiting,
- 7:24Speaker 2: you know, all humility, all due respect, and she actually said,
- 7:28Speaker 2: you know, if you're with the local, you can actually
- 7:30Speaker 2: take pictures of the area if you're given permission. Because
- 7:34Speaker 2: oh one thing, I forgot the name to mention that
- 7:36Speaker 2: neighborhood is where the video for this Basito was filmed.
- 7:39Speaker 2: So that made it kind of popular, right, But they
- 7:42Speaker 2: don't want like influencers or people coming in being like,
- 7:44Speaker 2: oh this is this Parsiito neighborhood. They want to keep
- 7:47Speaker 2: it locals only, so you know, it's very strict. But yeah,
- 7:50Speaker 2: the bartender, she gave me a tour. They're like, you
- 7:53Speaker 2: could take a photo here, do not take a photo
- 7:55Speaker 2: over there. So I got to actually get tour the neighborhood,
- 8:01Speaker 2: have pictures at a place you're not supposed to take
- 8:02Speaker 2: your phone now with full permission, and it was just
- 8:05Speaker 2: it was what it's an honor. I had a great
- 8:07Speaker 2: time hit up an old and older gentleman that we
- 8:10Speaker 2: were just chatting and drinking and having a great time.
- 8:13Speaker 2: And that was Friday night, to the point where I
- 8:15Speaker 2: went back to that neighborhood Sunday night for the Super Bowl.
- 8:18Speaker 2: Oh right, very nice. Yeah, the old man that I saw,
- 8:22Speaker 2: he remembered me, he said, I'll know us. So thousands
- 8:26Speaker 2: of miles away from home, in a neighborhood where you know,
- 8:28Speaker 2: people don't go got to it'd make a pal that
- 8:31Speaker 2: was stoked to see me again. So right, right, So yeah, honestly,
- 8:35Speaker 2: like one of the coolest things to be there. And
- 8:38Speaker 2: the vibe of the neighborhood is just it's literally walled
- 8:40Speaker 2: off with like another world. But it's everybody there is,
- 8:43Speaker 2: like I said, so proud, so proud to be on
- 8:46Speaker 2: that that everybody was so stoked about the Super Bowl,
- 8:49Speaker 2: and uh yeah, to sort of just be allowed to
- 8:51Speaker 2: come in and be just a guest and you know,
- 8:53Speaker 2: be allowed to be part of that experience with with
- 8:57Speaker 2: with the Puerto Rican crowd. It was one of the
- 9:00Speaker 2: coolest things ever happened to be in my life. So
- 9:03Speaker 2: so shout out to Puerto Rico as they call it,
- 9:07Speaker 2: and shout out specifically to la I really want to
- 9:11Speaker 2: go back. Yeah, but if you're notoriusts, don't maybe you know,
- 9:15Speaker 2: just ask around before, don't just don't just walk down there,
- 9:19Speaker 2: you know. But right, But anyway, so, uh cool, So
- 9:24Speaker 2: let's kind of keep this theme going, but also specifically
- 9:27Speaker 2: talk about the fact that xander'ses and milianno Vodagas were
- 9:31Speaker 2: in Bad Bunny super Bowl halftime show. So did you
- 9:34Speaker 2: realize it was then when you watched it? Because I didn't.
- 9:37Speaker 2: I didn't need these things were happening so fast. I
- 9:39Speaker 2: didn't know either.
- 9:40Speaker 3: But as a person that has family from the islands,
- 9:43Speaker 3: it was dope to see people from all different types, Like,
- 9:46Speaker 3: I know, you're not a baseball guy, but Ronald Lacuna
- 9:48Speaker 3: Junior was in there, Like it was just a lot
- 9:49Speaker 3: of different people from a lot different places that was
- 9:52Speaker 3: in it, and it was it was dope to see
- 9:54Speaker 3: me after seeing the aftermath, like, oh they had this
- 9:56Speaker 3: person in there because of this island and you had
- 9:59Speaker 3: all I never get talked about. And obviously in Puerto Rico.
- 10:03Speaker 3: Porto Rico is one of the most popular Caribbean islands,
- 10:05Speaker 3: but there's a lot of other smaller islands that are
- 10:08Speaker 3: very beautiful as well that I get very little talk talking.
- 10:11Speaker 2: About, and I understand kind of why.
- 10:14Speaker 3: But it was good to see every flag out there
- 10:17Speaker 3: getting shine, even for thirteen minutes.
- 10:20Speaker 2: It was really dope to see. Oh absolutely, yeah, I
- 10:23Speaker 2: know it's and the same thing too. There's things that
- 10:25Speaker 2: I saw I was like, okay, this some of that,
- 10:27Speaker 2: this means something. And things about the power lines and
- 10:30Speaker 2: the power grid that I saw online afterwards, the reactions
- 10:33Speaker 2: the lady from New York where he took a shot
- 10:36Speaker 2: of a shot in the middle of the show was
- 10:39Speaker 2: Puerto Rican Social Club in New York. I didn't know
- 10:41Speaker 2: any of that, so, but I knew the crowd was.
- 10:43Speaker 2: It was a good shed where I was. But yeah,
- 10:46Speaker 2: so the fact that there were boxers in the middle
- 10:49Speaker 2: of the shit the performance and he went under them,
- 10:52Speaker 2: I was like, uh, that's my thing. I like that,
- 10:55Speaker 2: that's the thing I like. It was really awesome to see.
- 10:58Speaker 2: But yeah, it was moving so fast that it was
- 11:00Speaker 2: until after the fact that I realized that that was
- 11:03Speaker 2: literally Eders is Puerto Rican fighter and Emiliano Vardagaz up
- 11:07Speaker 2: and coming, you know, Mexican fighter going at it in
- 11:10Speaker 2: the during the performance, which is really cool, you know.
- 11:14Speaker 2: The I also learned firsthand that the Mexican Puerto Rico
- 11:18Speaker 2: boxing rivalry is is it's a friendly one, but it's
- 11:21Speaker 2: someone that people have really really strong opinions about.
- 11:23Speaker 3: It's friendly today if that makes it right, Like it's friendly.
- 11:27Speaker 3: Both both parties will fill out an arena. But it's
- 11:30Speaker 3: friendly until it's championship rounds. It's a close fight, you know, Uh,
- 11:34Speaker 3: you gotta fight. That's five four going on to the
- 11:36Speaker 3: last few rounds. All, I bet we're gonna see how
- 11:39Speaker 3: friendly it is, you know. So but yeah, no, you're right.
- 11:41Speaker 3: You're definitely right. That's one of the more calmer rivalries,
- 11:45Speaker 3: if that makes sense.
- 11:46Speaker 2: Yeah, that does. I mean. I shout out to uh Ferrando,
- 11:49Speaker 2: who's a young guy who was a server at a
- 11:50Speaker 2: restaurant I went to. Place was not very packed, so
- 11:54Speaker 2: he ended up he and I ended up having a
- 11:55Speaker 2: good conversation. He brought up sports. I'm from Houston, so
- 11:59Speaker 2: he said he was a fan of the ass Strows,
- 12:00Speaker 2: which is cool, but he's we talked about boxing, and
- 12:04Speaker 2: meant he went off straight up. He said if somebody
- 12:08Speaker 2: talks bad about these that he'll he'll throw out, and
- 12:11Speaker 2: you could tell he was not kidding. He was like,
- 12:13Speaker 2: that's the kind of thing. Yeah, it's friendly until you
- 12:16Speaker 2: you talk shit too much. Shit. Yeah, yeah yeah. My
- 12:21Speaker 2: man specifically said that he dropped the bomb and says, well,
- 12:25Speaker 2: you know, there's millions and millions of people in Mexico,
- 12:27Speaker 2: like whatever, over one hundred million. I don't know the population.
- 12:29Speaker 2: And he was like, there's only three million million people
- 12:31Speaker 2: in Puerto Rico and we have the same number of
- 12:33Speaker 2: champions that y'all do. And I was like, okay, now
- 12:35Speaker 2: let's getting real and that's interesting.
- 12:39Speaker 3: I mean, it makes sense though, because most of the
- 12:41Speaker 3: islands are Third world countries. So whenever you have he wore,
- 12:45Speaker 3: Puerto Rico's not a country, but you know what I
- 12:47Speaker 3: mean whatever, So whenever you have poverty, you're gonna have
- 12:51Speaker 3: people who are gonna do whatever takes to get off
- 12:53Speaker 3: the island, which means boxing. So that makes total sense
- 12:57Speaker 3: looking at the grand scheme of thing. When I think
- 12:59Speaker 3: of I don't think of boxing off top. I think
- 13:01Speaker 3: more of soccer more than anything first, but obviously gonna
- 13:05Speaker 3: a lot of xkin boxers. But when whoever brought the
- 13:08Speaker 3: argument up, it makes sense about Puerto Rico because yeah,
- 13:11Speaker 3: you're trying to fight me off the island, like you're
- 13:13Speaker 3: literally trying to get out any way you can. Baseball
- 13:16Speaker 3: only goes so far. I don't really hear about Puerto
- 13:18Speaker 3: Rican soccer like that. So boxing makes the most sense
- 13:21Speaker 3: that that adds up.
- 13:24Speaker 2: Yeah, and just to be clear, apologies to buye people,
- 13:27Speaker 2: but the Mexican population is like over one hundred and
- 13:30Speaker 2: thirty million, just over Yeah, yeah, didn't know that off rip. Also,
- 13:35Speaker 2: my man said that you know, he will go to
- 13:38Speaker 2: his grave saying that Migho Koto was robbed against Floyd Mayweather.
- 13:43Speaker 2: How do you feel about That's take Jameson and I
- 13:45Speaker 2: watched the fight.
- 13:46Speaker 3: I know that fight all of my my good friend
- 13:50Speaker 3: who's very attractive, her name is Eric.
- 13:52Speaker 2: She's bad still to this day.
- 13:54Speaker 3: We were watching the fight of my boy who's actually
- 13:56Speaker 3: a barching her out here in Vegas. We're watching at
- 13:58Speaker 3: his spot with all his family, a couple of coworkers
- 14:01Speaker 3: of his. I remember we're at Remember we had to eat.
- 14:03Speaker 3: I remember everything. All his kids were either middle school
- 14:06Speaker 3: or just start starting high school, and now they're all
- 14:08Speaker 3: wrong with kids and stuff. So I remember everything about
- 14:11Speaker 3: that whole night. Ain't no damn Wade, Ain't no damn
- 14:14Speaker 3: wa anyone watched that fight. Going back at it, Andy
- 14:16Speaker 3: being like Codo, Now, I will say Coto was competitive.
- 14:20Speaker 3: He was a competitive when eighteen one twelve, it was competitive.
- 14:24Speaker 3: It wasn't like a blowout to where I'm wasting my time.
- 14:28Speaker 3: Floyd had to work, but it wasn't no like I
- 14:31Speaker 3: think Floyd may even swept a card on the decision,
- 14:34Speaker 3: but it wasn't no clu like.
- 14:36Speaker 2: Nah man nah no. You know, I'll let I'll let
- 14:41Speaker 2: both of your opinions stand. I won't have any of
- 14:43Speaker 2: my own. But you know that's goes to show you, yeah,
- 14:47Speaker 2: just how how invested. But yeah, but yeah, that kid
- 14:52Speaker 2: also said that he was born in two thousand and six,
- 14:54Speaker 2: which I think should be illegal. That should absolutely be
- 14:57Speaker 2: illegal to be born that after too house Come.
- 15:00Speaker 3: On, yeah, I mean I get it because if you're
- 15:03Speaker 3: a kid back in twenty eleven, twenty twelve, and you
- 15:06Speaker 3: saw that and you're from that, I can understand having
- 15:09Speaker 3: some feelings about it.
- 15:11Speaker 2: Like, yeah, nah, we're not gonna do that like that.
- 15:15Speaker 2: I mean, here's the thing.
- 15:16Speaker 3: We all got cultural repride, right, we all got pride
- 15:20Speaker 3: and our people on our cultures. Ain't no way. I
- 15:24Speaker 3: mean you could say the flight was close. You could say, yeah,
- 15:27Speaker 3: one eighteen, one twelve and one seventeen. Oh yeah, yeah,
- 15:30Speaker 3: that's why I figured, ain't no other way.
- 15:33Speaker 2: Ain't no, no, no, no, no, no. All right, Well,
- 15:37Speaker 2: but I don't know if you're listening. I did tell
- 15:39Speaker 2: them to follow the show on social media. So that's
- 15:41Speaker 2: that's what we got. You know, if you you want
- 15:42Speaker 2: to come on the show and give us your takes,
- 15:44Speaker 2: you know, that kid was very very much a boxing expert,
- 15:47Speaker 2: so we'd love to have you.
- 15:48Speaker 3: But yeah, can you ask them about old boy that
- 15:51Speaker 3: fought in the garden all last month? Beat in the
- 15:55Speaker 3: garden inside Joe walked out, No longo Herlina probably at no,
- 16:00Speaker 3: I did not. Yeah, yeah, I act about him.
- 16:04Speaker 2: I forgot to. I forgot to mention. I often forget
- 16:07Speaker 2: to mention Edgar Burlega like in any context. So no,
- 16:10Speaker 2: I didn't understand. It's easy, I understand, I get it.
- 16:16Speaker 2: I get it. Well, here's the thing you could love
- 16:19Speaker 2: where we could support your people and and like you know,
- 16:21Speaker 2: come out for them and root for them, etceteracea. But
- 16:23Speaker 2: at some point I can't imagine, like you have to
- 16:26Speaker 2: admit some of your what if your guy's gonna be asked?
- 16:29Speaker 3: You know, Black people support Adrian Barner for a long time,
- 16:33Speaker 3: So I don't don't feel bad. Everybody's got thin people
- 16:35Speaker 3: that funk up and ain't good anymore. Like Black people
- 16:38Speaker 3: support Adrian Bonner till they couldn't. So it happens. We
- 16:42Speaker 3: all have our you.
- 16:43Speaker 2: Know, are we Yeah? But I think we're there yet
- 16:45Speaker 2: with Berlega like.
- 16:48Speaker 3: Was good at one point, right, at least Browner had
- 16:50Speaker 3: had a future at one point in time that was
- 16:53Speaker 3: not I've never seen what blo so certain box with
- 16:56Speaker 3: certain fighters. If I don't see it, I don't see it,
- 16:59Speaker 3: like I force myself to see it. Well, I can't
- 17:02Speaker 3: force something. Ah, it's gonna know if it ain't there,
- 17:05Speaker 3: it ain't there, Like I'm sorry, but I.
- 17:08Speaker 2: Just yeah, no, no, Well, and you know, we we've
- 17:12Speaker 2: said this about Edgar Langa before. You know, he very
- 17:15Speaker 2: specifically was hyped up because of his one round knockouts.
- 17:18Speaker 2: You know, whatever it's nine ten in a row, et cetera.
- 17:20Speaker 2: I remember getting excited. I was like, oh, who the
- 17:22Speaker 2: hell is this guy who's doing this? So that's understandable
- 17:26Speaker 2: and you know, yeah, but it's also a very different landscape.
- 17:29Speaker 2: That's because there's a social media clip reels of him,
- 17:33Speaker 2: highlight reels of him doing that, right, which has passed around,
- 17:36Speaker 2: and that's what people watch, and you know that they
- 17:38Speaker 2: get they hyped off of that. Uh so yeah, I mean,
- 17:42Speaker 2: I guess like, here's the thing I would I actually
- 17:46Speaker 2: would love to talk to somebody from the island on
- 17:48Speaker 2: the show to ask them how they feel about Edgar
- 17:50Speaker 2: bed lying out right now.
- 17:52Speaker 3: Correct opinion too, not a fandom opinion is breakdown because
- 17:57Speaker 3: here's the thing here, here's the issue.
- 17:59Speaker 2: We all have our natural.
- 18:00Speaker 3: Attachments to boxers from that it always happened, right, But
- 18:05Speaker 3: as a fan of the sport, there has to be
- 18:08Speaker 3: a decision that's made where hey, man, this just ain't
- 18:11Speaker 3: working out. Like I'll support you from a distance, but
- 18:14Speaker 3: I can't keep supporting you know, bs performance in the ring.
- 18:18Speaker 3: I can't support this. It comes a time now. Some
- 18:22Speaker 3: people jump off the train earlier than others. Some people
- 18:25Speaker 3: never jump off me personally. Once you don't take the
- 18:28Speaker 3: fight seriously. Twice I jump off because here's the thing.
- 18:32Speaker 3: I'm taking time out of my life to watch you.
- 18:35Speaker 3: If I'm making sacrifices, I think you'd make sacrifice become
- 18:38Speaker 3: a better boxer.
- 18:39Speaker 2: If you're not gonna do that, then I gotta go.
- 18:42Speaker 2: I gotta go. I hope everything works out, but I can't.
- 18:45Speaker 3: It gotta be both ways, you gotta especially when used
- 18:48Speaker 3: to paper you too. Oh yeah, no, no, no, no,
- 18:52Speaker 3: you got one bs paper fight for me? So that
- 18:57Speaker 3: fire stick, Yeah nah, you.
- 18:59Speaker 2: Got to to dis interested to be fights rights, I
- 19:04Speaker 2: had one.
- 19:06Speaker 3: I'm too precious, man, I ain't got time. And to
- 19:09Speaker 3: be honest with you, there's a lot of other younger
- 19:11Speaker 3: boxers I could spend time on to see who's gonna
- 19:14Speaker 3: be next to who's that guy? Like?
- 19:15Speaker 2: Why should we waste our time on me? The ocre?
- 19:18Speaker 2: And we got guys that are out there trying to
- 19:19Speaker 2: prove themselves. Yeah, one hundred percent, you know. And I always,
- 19:24Speaker 2: of course a very attached to Mexican boxers as well,
- 19:26Speaker 2: and being Mexican American, I have that you know, attachment too.
- 19:30Speaker 2: But I'll say, you know, I try my best to
- 19:31Speaker 2: to really like focus on who I think is the
- 19:35Speaker 2: better fighter and you know, the better skills. So what
- 19:37Speaker 2: I mentioned to to this this this feetut server of ours,
- 19:42Speaker 2: I said, you know, an old Crawford. I'm the one
- 19:44Speaker 2: who said, not only do I think Crawford is gonna win,
- 19:46Speaker 2: but I want him to win. I think I want
- 19:48Speaker 2: him to to to get his dues.
- 19:50Speaker 3: So you know, so have you seen an interview since
- 19:53Speaker 3: with like Canello talk, I wish we had a rematch,
- 19:55Speaker 3: and any any noble person would give me a rematch
- 19:59Speaker 3: after they also big fire. Any person that won this
- 20:02Speaker 3: fight would have you know, she get the remats. Blah
- 20:03Speaker 3: blah blah.
- 20:04Speaker 2: Have you seen all that stuff? Since I did see
- 20:06Speaker 2: him A man a salty My man is salty. So
- 20:09Speaker 2: but also if you were hurt, then you should have
- 20:12Speaker 2: pushed the fight back. That's true, that's right, he did say. Yeah.
- 20:16Speaker 2: But I didn't realize is he said that he had
- 20:19Speaker 2: an injury prior. I thought it wasn't. He was injured
- 20:24Speaker 2: afterward the fact, so I thought so too.
- 20:26Speaker 3: When he said prior, I was like, oh, well, you
- 20:28Speaker 3: should have said something because for this amount of money,
- 20:31Speaker 3: for what was at stake, that night.
- 20:33Speaker 2: You need to be one hundred percent. Now.
- 20:34Speaker 3: With that being said, I don't think that changes would
- 20:37Speaker 3: happen from what I saw in that ring that night,
- 20:40Speaker 3: unless it was a hand injury or eye injury.
- 20:43Speaker 2: I don't think that really changed much.
- 20:45Speaker 3: I just feel like styles abilities at that particular time
- 20:48Speaker 3: of each other's careers.
- 20:50Speaker 2: I think the result would have been the result.
- 20:51Speaker 3: We may have had a much closer fight, but I
- 20:54Speaker 3: don't think it changed the whole.
- 20:55Speaker 2: I don't think it changes an overall result. Agreed, But
- 20:58Speaker 2: how easy is it to fight of that magnitude that's
- 21:01Speaker 2: at a football stadium. I mean they had trouble kind
- 21:03Speaker 2: of picking the date because of the football team. Anyway,
- 21:05Speaker 2: I mean, the sooner the better.
- 21:07Speaker 3: So if you notice something's not right, you have to
- 21:10Speaker 3: say something because you can. You can move the fight
- 21:14Speaker 3: a month out.
- 21:15Speaker 2: You can.
- 21:15Speaker 3: There's enough time to make things shake, but you gotta
- 21:18Speaker 3: do it quicker, so everybody. So the hotels can adjust,
- 21:21Speaker 3: the airlines can adjust, everybody can adjust. So sorry, so
- 21:24Speaker 3: some gonna get off quick. People that a first doesn't
- 21:27Speaker 3: know this Vegas. Whenever Vegas holds an event like this,
- 21:32Speaker 3: the boxing promotion companies get paid a lot of money
- 21:35Speaker 3: from the City of Las Vegas and the transit Authority
- 21:38Speaker 3: because so many people are coming in town that vegat
- 21:41Speaker 3: Obviously everybody's getting taken care of, so the promotion companies
- 21:44Speaker 3: and networks, everybody gets a little piece of the pie
- 21:47Speaker 3: from Vegas because they're bringing so many people to town. Anytime
- 21:52Speaker 3: you have that, you can make whatever date work. Because
- 21:54Speaker 3: there's so much money involved. No one's passing that up,
- 21:58Speaker 3: so you could have changed whatever date you needed. If
- 22:01Speaker 3: you needed to change for a month or two out,
- 22:03Speaker 3: they could have put it in late October or November.
- 22:06Speaker 3: There's enough open dates in that stadium for there'd have
- 22:10Speaker 3: been an adjustment to be done if necessary. There was
- 22:12Speaker 3: enough time to where, hey, you know what, my guy's
- 22:16Speaker 3: out for a month or six weeks. Let's push back.
- 22:19Speaker 3: Let's push back the fight till the end of November
- 22:22Speaker 3: Thanksgiving week and or leaking before Thanksgiving, whatever it needed
- 22:25Speaker 3: to be. Because there's so much money involved, they just
- 22:29Speaker 3: would have made it work. The TV networks would have
- 22:32Speaker 3: everybody would have made it work. So there wouldn't have
- 22:33Speaker 3: been no uh we can't, no, no, no, no no. When
- 22:36Speaker 3: you have that kind of fight on the table, with
- 22:39Speaker 3: that kind of money involved. If they want to fight
- 22:41Speaker 3: that show on Tuesday, they would have had on Tuesday.
- 22:43Speaker 3: There's a way to get it done, so to me,
- 22:46Speaker 3: and is old enough to know that. So to me,
- 22:50Speaker 3: I feel kind of disrespected and slide when he says
- 22:53Speaker 3: that because you knew you were hurt, you still thought
- 22:56Speaker 3: a lost. If you would have won, we would have
- 22:58Speaker 3: never heard that. So that he was like, nah, bru.
- 23:01Speaker 3: But you were the first person to mention the type
- 23:04Speaker 3: of bulpy that Canelo was. You called him stocky, not lean,
- 23:09Speaker 3: and those kind of fighters do not work versus Tane Crawford.
- 23:13Speaker 3: If you're gonna beat a Tance Crawford type, you need
- 23:15Speaker 3: to be athletic. You need to be able to move,
- 23:18Speaker 3: You need to be able to beat him to the
- 23:19Speaker 3: punch consistently. And Canelo was not to be that guy.
- 23:23Speaker 3: Looking back on it, on that night, at this stage
- 23:25Speaker 3: of his career, maybe earlier, but at this stage, the
- 23:29Speaker 3: energy and athleticism he would have needed was not there.
- 23:33Speaker 2: Yeah, what I what I've always said is that Canelo
- 23:35Speaker 2: was a little guy that beefed up. He got beefy
- 23:38Speaker 2: and he moved better. As a little guy. He had
- 23:39Speaker 2: to wait a great run when he became undisputed at
- 23:42Speaker 2: super middleweight, don't get me wrong, but didn't didn't move
- 23:46Speaker 2: the same as he did at middleweight, and then didn't
- 23:48Speaker 2: move the same you know, the year after he became
- 23:51Speaker 2: a disputed that came a plant flight was fantastic, you know,
- 23:54Speaker 2: that's that's still one of the most fun I had
- 23:57Speaker 2: going out to watch boxing. Uh so, not to anything
- 24:00Speaker 2: way from that, but after that you could tell it
- 24:03Speaker 2: was night and day essentially from the way he moved.
- 24:07Speaker 2: So yeah, agreed. I mean, at the end of the day, yeah,
- 24:10Speaker 2: you're right, he could have said something. He knows. You know,
- 24:12Speaker 2: he's not a newbie, he's not a baby in this industry.
- 24:16Speaker 2: So I have no sympathy. I mean, you chose to
- 24:19Speaker 2: fight with an injury or you know, not at one
- 24:22Speaker 2: hundred percent and you didn't have to, So you take
- 24:25Speaker 2: the l and walk away and just accept that. Budd
- 24:28Speaker 2: is walk away up. There's a clip going around of
- 24:31Speaker 2: I forget who the interview was, asking Bud, you have
- 24:33Speaker 2: to have a number to come back, right, one hundred million,
- 24:35Speaker 2: hundred and fifty whatever, and Bud said no, because then
- 24:38Speaker 2: you're selling your soul and money's not everything. You clearly
- 24:42Speaker 2: are perfectly fine selling your soul, he told the interview,
- 24:45Speaker 2: which I was like, damn, But here's the thing. You
- 24:48Speaker 2: wouldn't fault. But if he decided to come back, I
- 24:50Speaker 2: don't think he is.
- 24:51Speaker 3: But if he decided to come back, I don't think
- 24:54Speaker 3: he would now that one hundred million dollars on the table.
- 24:58Speaker 2: I do think if if he he was the.
- 25:00Speaker 3: A side of a rematch and he was getting on
- 25:02Speaker 3: a hundred plus million, I would not be surprised if
- 25:06Speaker 3: he came back. I don't think he does, though, but
- 25:09Speaker 3: I would understand because the reason why Canal is really
- 25:11Speaker 3: upset there's no other nine figure fight for Canelo anymore.
- 25:15Speaker 2: That's the issue.
- 25:16Speaker 3: Obviously, with Jake Paul getting his jaw broke to there's
- 25:19Speaker 3: definitely no more there's no more opponents for him to
- 25:22Speaker 3: get that kind of payday with that's out there anymore.
- 25:25Speaker 3: That's the biggest reason why Canal is pissed. Is not
- 25:28Speaker 3: because he lost, is because they're not up heyday has
- 25:31Speaker 3: drastically changed because with him it is profit rematching. It's
- 25:35Speaker 3: another two hundred plus million dollar fight. Altogether, both guys
- 25:38Speaker 3: probably get nine figures this time. That is not the
- 25:41Speaker 3: case going forward, and who can really fight Canela right
- 25:45Speaker 3: now where it's like a big fight. He's not fighting Benavidez.
- 25:48Speaker 2: We know that.
- 25:49Speaker 3: We ain't gonna waste no more time on that that
- 25:51Speaker 3: ain't happening. So who else does he fight? Who else
- 25:54Speaker 3: is he gonna garner enough attention and energy with to fight?
- 25:58Speaker 2: I don't see it, agreed, and just sorry. I'm not
- 26:02Speaker 2: sure who that person was you mentioned who got his
- 26:04Speaker 2: job broke, and I don't recognize that name, but I
- 26:06Speaker 2: heard I heard you. Yeah, yeah, shout out. I'm not
- 26:10Speaker 2: sure from the.
- 26:10Speaker 3: UK, the big heavyweight from the UK that dude is.
- 26:14Speaker 3: We're gonna go name, We were gonna have descriptions, so
- 26:16Speaker 3: it's all good.
- 26:18Speaker 2: But no, Yeah, I'm agreed with you. Here's the thing
- 26:20Speaker 2: about Canelo losing to Bud. I agree that he would
- 26:23Speaker 2: not fight him, but did not retire. I don't think
- 26:26Speaker 2: he's going to rematch people before Canelo retires. I think
- 26:30Speaker 2: he's not gonna fight Benavidez because again, these are feeble
- 26:35Speaker 2: and Benavidez are big dudes. Uh, but as a little
- 26:39Speaker 2: dude that beefed up but still has that athleticism in
- 26:41Speaker 2: the way the movement of a little guy and Canelo
- 26:43Speaker 2: stuck in the middle is like he's in the worst
- 26:45Speaker 2: possible position right now for him. Uh and here's the
- 26:49Speaker 2: hey man, I just turned forty and you're from nineteen
- 26:51Speaker 2: eighty six as well. Let's come in for you as well.
- 26:53Speaker 2: I bet it's really hard for Canelo to trip down
- 26:55Speaker 2: too too much with his age, even though obviously he's
- 26:57Speaker 2: an excellent shape and didn't just spend his entire weekend
- 27:00Speaker 2: getting shithouse drunk on the Porter can rum. Even so
- 27:04Speaker 2: for somebody who works out all the time, it's it
- 27:06Speaker 2: can't be that easy. It can't. It just can't. Definitely.
- 27:10Speaker 2: So yeah, So now that's that's a really good point
- 27:12Speaker 2: about just where he is kind of in limbo. A
- 27:14Speaker 2: Chris you Bank Junior potential matchup was was thrown out there,
- 27:19Speaker 2: hard to say, I mean, here's but you're I guess
- 27:23Speaker 2: it doesn't matter at the end of the day, whoever
- 27:25Speaker 2: he fights. You're right. The point is it's not going
- 27:28Speaker 2: to be a major payday and he's gonna get his
- 27:31Speaker 2: fans come out to support him. I will watch him,
- 27:32Speaker 2: I will support him because I'm still a Canello fanboy.
- 27:37Speaker 2: But it's not the same it's not the same as
- 27:39Speaker 2: him fighting uh, you know, a big name as opposed
- 27:43Speaker 2: to uh, just one of those in between fights that
- 27:46Speaker 2: he has. Sometimes you're like, I'm gonna see my guy
- 27:48Speaker 2: and then he's fighting some other nobody. You know. Ah,
- 27:53Speaker 2: I say nobody. I've already said that. I hate when
- 27:55Speaker 2: a boxing fans say that. I'll take that back. But
- 27:59Speaker 2: the interesting thing about Christy Bank Junior. Another thing that
- 28:02Speaker 2: I said is that maybe if there's like a something
- 28:05Speaker 2: about one of his fights that is different to get
- 28:08Speaker 2: people hyped up, if he fights in London. He said
- 28:10Speaker 2: he's always wanted to do that. You know, his fight
- 28:14Speaker 2: against the Cuban guy that was very boring. That was
- 28:18Speaker 2: in Saudi Arabia. You know, that was kind of an
- 28:20Speaker 2: exciting thing that him. They used to kind of sell
- 28:22Speaker 2: that it's like Canelo's first fight in Riad. Maybe they'll
- 28:26Speaker 2: say Canelo overseas in London. Another thing, when he fought
- 28:30Speaker 2: in Mexico and waller Ja against John Ryder, the British
- 28:34Speaker 2: guy that I had never heard of. Same thing. This
- 28:36Speaker 2: thing is sold out in like five minutes, right, you know,
- 28:39Speaker 2: and that and that fight was cut pretty pointless, Like
- 28:41Speaker 2: John Ryder had no chance, and it was just getting
- 28:42Speaker 2: dominated the entire the entire match. So I don't know,
- 28:46Speaker 2: maybe that's where he goes and you know, kind of
- 28:49Speaker 2: makes that one of his last two fights fighting overseas
- 28:51Speaker 2: and gives a just gives a little bit more flair,
- 28:55Speaker 2: I guess, is what you say. Most definitely, Yeah, but
- 28:58Speaker 2: we'll see what happens with that guy. You know, still
- 29:01Speaker 2: a fan still, you know, I agree that we're not
- 29:04Speaker 2: going to see someone of his caliber anytime soon. Mexican
- 29:08Speaker 2: Mexican American. So yeah, let's move on here. I got
- 29:11Speaker 2: my notes. Okay, So if y'all did not notice, we
- 29:15Speaker 2: dropped a minisode last week. Typically it's our off week,
- 29:18Speaker 2: but we wanted to talk about the Shaq Corse Stephens
- 29:20Speaker 2: and fight versus Tophi Malopez. We didn't want to wait,
- 29:24Speaker 2: and we only talked about that. I do kind of
- 29:26Speaker 2: want to mention Keishon Davis specifically from that night as well,
- 29:30Speaker 2: because you know, there's a big controversy about him missing
- 29:33Speaker 2: weight at his previous fight in his hometown, his hometown show.
- 29:38Speaker 2: His fight got canceled, and neither of us were happy. Jamison,
- 29:43Speaker 2: you were a lot less happy than I was. We
- 29:46Speaker 2: talked about it beforehand. You know what we needed to
- 29:49Speaker 2: see to welcome Kishan back into the fold. You said,
- 29:52Speaker 2: dominating performance based on what you saw. I mean, where
- 29:55Speaker 2: are you at? Do you think he's back in our
- 29:58Speaker 2: good graces? Are you still kind of like? But he is.
- 30:02Speaker 3: Because the boxing is good, right, As long as the
- 30:04Speaker 3: boxing is good, he'll be in our good races. He's
- 30:06Speaker 3: gonna hope if he ever throws something in his hometown again,
- 30:09Speaker 3: hopefully it's on point. Hopefull there's no more Shenanigans. But
- 30:12Speaker 3: for the most part, boxing wise, he's fine. Got to
- 30:15Speaker 3: you to get better because what happens. There's a lot
- 30:17Speaker 3: of these young guys. They don't always progress. Sometimes they
- 30:21Speaker 3: say stagnant. Sometimes he gets too big. So hopefully he's
- 30:24Speaker 3: a younger guy, Hopefully things keep progressing. Hopefully he stays
- 30:29Speaker 3: active too. That's a guy that needs to fight most.
- 30:32Speaker 3: He has a type of fighting style to where if
- 30:34Speaker 3: he fights three times a year, he can get casual.
- 30:37Speaker 3: Fans can't say it. Can't say that about everybody, but
- 30:40Speaker 3: he's one of the few guys where if he's fighting
- 30:43Speaker 3: once a fiscal quarter, you might be able to catch him.
- 30:47Speaker 3: Some random sports fans that randomly come across his clips,
- 30:51Speaker 3: And I think that's what's missing from boxing in general,
- 30:54Speaker 3: is we don't have guys being active enough to capture
- 30:57Speaker 3: the random sports fan that is eager to no name,
- 31:00Speaker 3: they're eager, but hey, I follow boxing occasionally. So a
- 31:04Speaker 3: guy like that, that's that talented and that's dominating a ring. Yeah,
- 31:08Speaker 3: he has actionally. The reason why I am so mad
- 31:09Speaker 3: about that whole thing in his hometown last year, it
- 31:12Speaker 3: wasn't because you know, he was lazy or just dispectful.
- 31:16Speaker 3: He has true star talent and right now, we don't
- 31:19Speaker 3: have a lot of boxers that have true star talent
- 31:22Speaker 3: that could carry a car. We don't have that many.
- 31:25Speaker 3: So to see one fuck things up, excuse my language,
- 31:28Speaker 3: was very disappointing. On a grand scheme. It wasn't the
- 31:31Speaker 3: box and the box is gonna be what's gonna be.
- 31:33Speaker 3: He's gonna be a very good boxer. We need stars,
- 31:36Speaker 3: let's say star sport. We don't come to box for
- 31:39Speaker 3: the Gurneman. No one really cared about the German like that,
- 31:42Speaker 3: Like it's cute when they have a good fighter, they
- 31:44Speaker 3: have a lucky night, But we're here for the stars.
- 31:48Speaker 2: When we have a star potential.
- 31:50Speaker 3: We got to groom that star, get them ready for startup,
- 31:53Speaker 3: and he's on that trajectory. Hopefully he's back on that
- 31:56Speaker 3: and going forward he's able to get to that level
- 31:59Speaker 3: because right now, well, Davonte Davis getting caught up in
- 32:03Speaker 3: a situation he's caught up in really sucks. You gave
- 32:06Speaker 3: your opinion of him as a boxer, but him getting
- 32:09Speaker 3: caught up and not fighting when he's probably the most
- 32:12Speaker 3: attractive boxer to the casual fan there is because Alice
- 32:15Speaker 3: style is him not boxing really sucks. We can't have
- 32:19Speaker 3: any more Misshouse for anybody else that's really good.
- 32:22Speaker 2: We just can't. So that's why I was really mad
- 32:24Speaker 2: at Keishaana.
- 32:25Speaker 3: Sorry for rambling on, but that's why I was so
- 32:27Speaker 3: furious at Keshan Davis. It wasn't because an error happened,
- 32:31Speaker 3: and no, it's because when you you don't get these
- 32:35Speaker 3: opportunities that often you don't get the stardom approach van often,
- 32:40Speaker 3: so when you do, you better take advantage of it
- 32:41Speaker 3: or else it's not gonna work out.
- 32:44Speaker 2: Sure, I'm not trying to like, you know, downplay you
- 32:46Speaker 2: know your you being upset. It was more definitely that.
- 32:50Speaker 2: I was just like, well, you know, he missed, waited,
- 32:52Speaker 2: and he picked the wrong weight class, and yes, he
- 32:54Speaker 2: should have said something early again, and you know he's
- 32:57Speaker 2: got to deal with the consequences of not speaking up
- 32:59Speaker 2: and being shun So I was never anything, you know,
- 33:02Speaker 2: but he also didn't he didn't do anything the fucking
- 33:05Speaker 2: take has done, you know, definitely yeah, so so yeah,
- 33:08Speaker 2: so yeah, you know, something like that for me. You
- 33:10Speaker 2: know that type of I guess derision is reserved for
- 33:15Speaker 2: somebody that's like really really uh just it's really a
- 33:19Speaker 2: fucking asshole. Let's just say it being a scumbag and
- 33:22Speaker 2: that kind of thing. So you know, he fucked up,
- 33:24Speaker 2: you know, he's uh you know. The one thing he
- 33:27Speaker 2: did is he went up in weight class to super
- 33:30Speaker 2: super lightweight correct, Yeah, so excuse yeah, because he was
- 33:34Speaker 2: at lightweight against he was supposed to find ou when
- 33:38Speaker 2: Dela Sento's couldn't make it, so he went to go
- 33:41Speaker 2: up and be goes all right, well, I mean you
- 33:42Speaker 2: should have done this in the first first place if
- 33:44Speaker 2: you realize you're having trouble. I mean, how many boxers
- 33:47Speaker 2: do that as they get older, Like that's what they do.
- 33:49Speaker 2: You know what I mean. So so you know, not
- 33:52Speaker 2: trying to excuse any of that, again, not trying to
- 33:54Speaker 2: try to diminish what you were what you said on
- 33:56Speaker 2: the show, but yeah, and he definitely would have diff
- 34:00Speaker 2: was very different at this weight. You know, he seemed
- 34:02Speaker 2: to be taking it a little more easy, you know,
- 34:05Speaker 2: kind of playing a little but safe for at the beginning.
- 34:08Speaker 2: Definitely wasn't the stoppage early Keisha on that we saw
- 34:11Speaker 2: against Dennis Barncheck, which was a four round stoppage with
- 34:16Speaker 2: the body shot, which is awesome. But he did get
- 34:20Speaker 2: the stoppage, which is actually amazing because it was ten
- 34:24Speaker 2: seconds before the end of the final round for the
- 34:27Speaker 2: end of the actual fight. So you know, powers there,
- 34:31Speaker 2: maybe he was feeling out the weight early on. So
- 34:34Speaker 2: maybe his next fight, when he's like even more comfortable
- 34:38Speaker 2: at that weight in that ring, his next opponent might
- 34:41Speaker 2: be might be put on the ground a lot earlier, right,
- 34:45Speaker 2: and that next opponent might be Devin Haney. He called
- 34:48Speaker 2: him out after that fight.
- 34:49Speaker 3: What do you think, Hey, that's a good matchup. That's
- 34:52Speaker 3: a very good that's a on paper, it's a very
- 34:55Speaker 3: good matchup. That's one of those ones where whoever wins
- 34:58Speaker 3: goes to a different level in terms of like everything
- 35:00Speaker 3: like that.
- 35:01Speaker 2: It's a very very good matchup. Agreed, I want to
- 35:04Speaker 2: see it. I would. I want to see that more
- 35:06Speaker 2: than the Devin Haney Ryan Garcia that we don't need that.
- 35:11Speaker 2: I'm still I've been on record that I want to
- 35:13Speaker 2: see it based on how Devin Haney progressed. So I'll
- 35:16Speaker 2: take it. You know, I'd be happy to see it,
- 35:19Speaker 2: but I would much rather see him fight.
- 35:24Speaker 3: I think that's a good challenge for both guys. I
- 35:26Speaker 3: think that's one of those ones where you've got to
- 35:28Speaker 3: kind of dig deep the win that fight. You're not
- 35:29Speaker 3: going to show up and win. I think Khan would
- 35:34Speaker 3: probably favor in that. But that's a good fight. I
- 35:37Speaker 3: think overall it's a good, good fight.
- 35:40Speaker 2: I would bet my money on Keishan only because of
- 35:43Speaker 2: we've seen what David Devin Haney cannot do. We've seen
- 35:46Speaker 2: him falter more than once now uh again, you know,
- 35:49Speaker 2: really excited about how he looked in that ring against
- 35:52Speaker 2: uh Brian Norman Jr. So respect him for that, let's
- 35:55Speaker 2: not take it take any of that away from him.
- 35:58Speaker 2: But we've we've seen him at his worst. We have
- 36:03Speaker 2: not seen Keishan at his worst in the ring. We
- 36:06Speaker 2: saw him fuck up and not being able to get
- 36:08Speaker 2: in the ring, So it's a different kind of kind
- 36:11Speaker 2: of screw up, if that makes sense. That's correct. Speaking
- 36:14Speaker 2: of Devin Haney's former opponent who just keeps popping up
- 36:18Speaker 2: and we have to keep talking about him, even though
- 36:21Speaker 2: sometimes I'm like I'm over the sky, right Garcia? We
- 36:24Speaker 2: mentioned before we'll be back against Mario Barrios on February
- 36:28Speaker 2: twenty first, which is our off week, so kind of
- 36:31Speaker 2: talked about before of where rang Garcia is and how
- 36:36Speaker 2: he really needs to win and needs to get back himself,
- 36:38Speaker 2: get back into good graces himself because he had two
- 36:41Speaker 2: losses in a no contest. He's still getting these opportunities
- 36:44Speaker 2: because his name, he has a following. I'm kind of
- 36:48Speaker 2: just I'm hoping that he loses me we kind of
- 36:51Speaker 2: stop having to talk about him as a as a
- 36:54Speaker 2: main event fighter. But I mean, we're gonna We're gonna
- 36:58Speaker 2: make a prediction on this fight. But Jameson, what do
- 37:01Speaker 2: you think, what's uh, how do you think he's going
- 37:03Speaker 2: to stack up against Money Boters, who is a good fighter,
- 37:06Speaker 2: probably could be better, definitely should have looked definitely should
- 37:10Speaker 2: have defeated old men Pecchiel.
- 37:12Speaker 3: I honestly don't know, Like I don't know what Ryan
- 37:15Speaker 3: I'm getting. I truly do not know, Like it's from
- 37:19Speaker 3: what I've heard. I've heard the preparation has been better
- 37:23Speaker 3: this time around, but I don't know. I can't trust him,
- 37:27Speaker 3: that's the thing, and not trust like you know, I
- 37:31Speaker 3: trust what my prediction right if I pick him to win,
- 37:34Speaker 3: I don't trust him like that, Like I don't trust
- 37:36Speaker 3: him with my word, because he's one of those guys
- 37:40Speaker 3: where if it's a close fight, he gets rattled. The
- 37:44Speaker 3: whole game plans out the window to where if it's
- 37:46Speaker 3: a competitive fight and there's a little bit adversity, all
- 37:50Speaker 3: bets are off.
- 37:51Speaker 2: Right.
- 37:52Speaker 3: However, talent wise and athleticism wise, there's something there that
- 37:58Speaker 3: versus most opponents he has an advantage over, so it's
- 38:02Speaker 3: tough to not pick Ryan. However, like you mentioned here,
- 38:06Speaker 3: Else's last fight was pretty impressive.
- 38:09Speaker 2: It wasn't bad, so I don't know.
- 38:12Speaker 3: I'd probably I mean, also, this is Ryan's last chance,
- 38:18Speaker 3: so I'd probably go Ryan based off of that and
- 38:23Speaker 3: just being like hey, like you're not headlining anything else,
- 38:27Speaker 3: after this, you might be on cards because you're popular,
- 38:30Speaker 3: but headlining this is probably the last one. So I
- 38:33Speaker 3: would probably go with Ryan if I had to find
- 38:35Speaker 3: a guess.
- 38:36Speaker 2: Okay, okay, And I just realized that you'd probably clarify
- 38:40Speaker 2: something I said. My dew Butter should look better against Pacquiao, who,
- 38:43Speaker 2: I mean, the man's living legend, one of the greatest
- 38:44Speaker 2: boxers ever. I just say, because he's forty seven. I mean,
- 38:47Speaker 2: come on, man, if.
- 38:50Speaker 3: We didn't have we had expectations what pak Yao would
- 38:53Speaker 3: look like in that matchup. That's why it was so surprising.
- 38:57Speaker 3: But like you mentioned, Pakia was in shape. He didn't
- 39:00Speaker 3: look old, and normally that's not the case for most
- 39:04Speaker 3: forty seven year old boxers. Most of the time they
- 39:06Speaker 3: are out of shape or they're not sharp. That was
- 39:09Speaker 3: the opposite for that. So yeah, by at the same time,
- 39:13Speaker 3: you're right, like, you're absolutely correct.
- 39:16Speaker 2: Yeah, And it's that eternal struggle of like, you know,
- 39:18Speaker 2: living an absolute living legend who you know, time comes
- 39:22Speaker 2: for everybody, so uh, it's I also don't want to
- 39:26Speaker 2: take anything away from you know, pacchia skills. Obviously he
- 39:30Speaker 2: showed up and he looked great in that ring against
- 39:32Speaker 2: the younger dude. So, but here's the thing. I've always said,
- 39:37Speaker 2: we learned more from our losses than our wins. I
- 39:40Speaker 2: believe that in boxing, and I believe it in life.
- 39:43Speaker 2: And I'm hoping that Madrio Bardios he has better a
- 39:45Speaker 2: ring i Q than Rangercia, and ring IQ is a
- 39:47Speaker 2: thing that's definitely got him in Jove before. I'm hoping
- 39:51Speaker 2: that Badrio's learned from his fight against Pacio, learned, you
- 39:54Speaker 2: know what, how to how to increase his ring i
- 39:58Speaker 2: Q against Ryan, and if he he just doesn't get
- 40:00Speaker 2: caught with a really really strong punch because Ryan has
- 40:02Speaker 2: that undeniable power. Yeah, yeah, yeah, anybody can get caught.
- 40:06Speaker 2: It only takes one punch. We've said this a million times.
- 40:09Speaker 2: But if I definitely I'm gonna I would get picked boys. Also,
- 40:13Speaker 2: part of it is because I kind of want to
- 40:15Speaker 2: see Ryan Garcia kind of his his esteem lowered him him,
- 40:18Speaker 2: but his name being no longer at the top of
- 40:20Speaker 2: the cards, let's let's get some other, some other more talent.
- 40:24Speaker 2: It won't it.
- 40:25Speaker 3: Won't change because he's a guy. For amount of guys
- 40:28Speaker 3: in his weight class that are still prevalent, he will
- 40:31Speaker 3: always be a guy that even if he's not the
- 40:34Speaker 3: main event guy, he's gonna be on the sec or
- 40:37Speaker 3: a third fight, just because he is a name and
- 40:39Speaker 3: he can fill a fight. So if he's a if
- 40:41Speaker 3: he's people will still tune in to watch him fight,
- 40:45Speaker 3: even if he's not good.
- 40:47Speaker 2: It's a thing. Oh, don't get me wrong. That's that's
- 40:50Speaker 2: what I want. I when I say see his name
- 40:52Speaker 2: no longer be in the top, I'm fine with him
- 40:54Speaker 2: being second and third and I'll tune in. Don't get
- 40:55Speaker 2: me wrong, I'm just saying, how about here's what Here's
- 40:59Speaker 2: what I want to say. There are much more talented
- 41:01Speaker 2: fighters who deserve to be at the in the main cards,
- 41:04Speaker 2: and Ryan Garcia I agree. So I'm perfectly happy with
- 41:08Speaker 2: him being the second name on that list. That's cool,
- 41:13Speaker 2: And I think we've kind of kind of stretched it
- 41:15Speaker 2: as far as we could again, especially because he had
- 41:18Speaker 2: two losses in a no contest, and because you know
- 41:22Speaker 2: that we've talked many times about how the sport is
- 41:24Speaker 2: so unforgiving. I think we should be more forgiving. But
- 41:27Speaker 2: if he loses this one, that's as much forgive forgiveness
- 41:31Speaker 2: as he should be getting.
- 41:31Speaker 3: You know what I mean, at that point, we can't
- 41:33Speaker 3: take you seriously no more because you're not taking the
- 41:35Speaker 3: craft seriously.
- 41:36Speaker 2: Right, Well, you got no contests and losses. What we're doing, like,
- 41:41Speaker 2: what are we what are we doing here? And you've
- 41:44Speaker 2: said this for I'll like a way, you know, no
- 41:46Speaker 2: disrespect against Roly Romero, but uh, he he lost it
- 41:50Speaker 2: because he was just he's snoozing in that ring. So
- 41:55Speaker 2: losing with all due respect, Yeah, so I kind of
- 42:01Speaker 2: think he the sport hasn't been disrespectful to Ryan Garcia enough,
- 42:05Speaker 2: has that? Uh perfectly said. Yeah, So I'm gonna I'm
- 42:11Speaker 2: betting on a Barrios win because not only I think
- 42:15Speaker 2: he could, he could potentially pull it off with ring
- 42:17Speaker 2: a cu but I just want it. That's what I
- 42:19Speaker 2: want to see. I think. Also, Ryan Garcia, you said
- 42:23Speaker 2: you've been hearing that the prep is better. But I've
- 42:25Speaker 2: heard that like a few times now. Prep has been
- 42:27Speaker 2: better and better and better, even though after the fights
- 42:30Speaker 2: that he's lost, he's been the new Ryan, you know,
- 42:33Speaker 2: three or four times now. It's true. Plus you know,
- 42:38Speaker 2: not to say this, he's the only one, but you
- 42:40Speaker 2: know he's got a huge ego. He's probably gonna go
- 42:43Speaker 2: in and thinking, well, I'm gonna win. But even if
- 42:45Speaker 2: I don't, I'm still a name, I still have falling,
- 42:47Speaker 2: I'm still gonna be making money. So that's kind of
- 42:51Speaker 2: why if that happens, I can see a Barrios win,
- 42:56Speaker 2: and that's actually, you know what we should be not
- 43:00Speaker 2: the odds. Do you have that? I keep it putting
- 43:04Speaker 2: moment here because the way the way I bet when
- 43:09Speaker 2: I do, and it's not often, you know, I've always
- 43:11Speaker 2: I tried to bet on the underdog because I don't
- 43:13Speaker 2: want to. I want to make more return for my money.
- 43:16Speaker 2: But at the same time, I always have to really
- 43:17Speaker 2: really want to believe that the underdog could win. So
- 43:21Speaker 2: I right, if Ryan Garcia is favored, I personally would
- 43:25Speaker 2: put money on a Barrios win. For Yeah, he's minus
- 43:30Speaker 2: two sixty three eighty. Yeah, Ryan's favorite, Bile.
- 43:34Speaker 3: That's a healthy amount of favoritism.
- 43:37Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know. I don't necessarily agree with that.
- 43:39Speaker 3: That's kind of high, but I get it because he's
- 43:41Speaker 3: a name, so I get it.
- 43:43Speaker 2: But I wouldn't I wouldn't bet him. I would go brio,
- 43:46Speaker 2: so I had to bet it. Yeah, And that's kind
- 43:48Speaker 2: of what if I really believe. If I can't believe
- 43:52Speaker 2: the underdog could pull it off, if I don't feel
- 43:54Speaker 2: it in my heart of hearts, I wouldn't put money
- 43:56Speaker 2: on it. Uh so I think you could, so yeah, yeah,
- 44:01Speaker 2: well we definitely want to gonna have to start putting
- 44:05Speaker 2: up the odds during these fights more often, because just
- 44:08Speaker 2: I'm curious. I always like to put money on a draw,
- 44:11Speaker 2: just because you can put a dollar with like what
- 44:13Speaker 2: thirties times they've changed.
- 44:15Speaker 3: It's not as dramatic as it used to be back
- 44:18Speaker 3: in the day, a draw by like fifty to one, right,
- 44:20Speaker 3: because this is so rare. You do always have split
- 44:22Speaker 3: decisions and majority of decisions all that. Now the draw
- 44:25Speaker 3: is so much more common. If you bet it on
- 44:28Speaker 3: the night of the fight, the number's gonna be so
- 44:30Speaker 3: low because it gets bet down so much. But you
- 44:34Speaker 3: bet when the line originally comes out, you're probably like
- 44:36Speaker 3: twenty five to one, thirty to one, which is a
- 44:38Speaker 3: good number, which is a very good number.
- 44:40Speaker 2: Yeah, And I put I put five bucks on a
- 44:43Speaker 2: draw between Shakuri and to Femo, and then between Kishan
- 44:45Speaker 2: and Jermaine Ortiz the last time, just because if I
- 44:48Speaker 2: lose ten bucks, then you know, it's not gonna hurt me.
- 44:50Speaker 2: But if I win one of those, it'd be like
- 44:51Speaker 2: eighty eighty five, is what I was making. Facts. Facts. Yeah,
- 44:55Speaker 2: so yeah, that's usually no matter what, I'm gonna start
- 44:59Speaker 2: putting a couple on to draw just in case because
- 45:01Speaker 2: it's it's gonna be an amount that it's not gonna
- 45:03Speaker 2: you know, I'm not gonna feel it. Thanks so much,
- 45:06Speaker 2: So cool. Well, that's uh, that fight for ran Garcia
- 45:10Speaker 2: versus Mario Badios is the twenty first and so you
- 45:12Speaker 2: know our episode after that will be a recap of
- 45:15Speaker 2: what happened. And if as long as you know, plans
- 45:18Speaker 2: don't change and nothing out of the ordinary happens, well,
- 45:20Speaker 2: I don't have a special guest to discuss that fight with,
- 45:22Speaker 2: so be sure to tune in. All right, speaking of guests,
- 45:27Speaker 2: I wanted to make sure that we brought this up
- 45:30Speaker 2: because you know, two episodes ago we had a roundtable
- 45:34Speaker 2: with a buddy of mine, Tony Samorano, absolutely crushed it.
- 45:37Speaker 2: He is gonna be back on the show, big boxing expert,
- 45:41Speaker 2: you know, big fan. He and I would just chat
- 45:43Speaker 2: about it every time I would run into him, typically
- 45:45Speaker 2: at a craft beer bar in Tucson and decided to have
- 45:48Speaker 2: him on the show and meant his amazing uh the
- 45:51Speaker 2: Three of Us, you know, the chemistry between him and
- 45:53Speaker 2: the three the two of Us was super super cool.
- 45:55Speaker 2: So I can't recommend that episode enough. Go check it
- 45:57Speaker 2: out and I post clips on social media and his
- 46:01Speaker 2: you know, his spicy take on Mexican boxer is getting
- 46:04Speaker 2: some some you know, nice feedback. Not a lot of
- 46:07Speaker 2: people being really like assholes yet about it or want
- 46:10Speaker 2: to argue, which is cool. We want to make sure
- 46:12Speaker 2: that don't be mean, don't be rude. We're all here
- 46:15Speaker 2: to discuss the best sport in the world, all right,
- 46:17Speaker 2: Like you can disagree, you know, you can strongly disagree,
- 46:21Speaker 2: but just make sure you know. But the comments have
- 46:23Speaker 2: been cool. I'm just saying for the future. But let's
- 46:25Speaker 2: check out this this short and then we're read off
- 46:29Speaker 2: a couple comments because I want to give people shout
- 46:30Speaker 2: outs because I really appreciate them commenting from Mexico. But
- 46:35Speaker 2: Oscarili is Mexican American. Yeah, we have another Mexican American
- 46:38Speaker 2: coming over to take over the rains.
- 46:40Speaker 4: Like the so there's a dude who is straight out
- 46:42Speaker 4: of Mexico. There's no equation in which a Mexican American
- 46:45Speaker 4: fighter can carry the weight of a true Mexican fighter
- 46:49Speaker 4: in regard to popularity and relevance.
- 46:56Speaker 2: And make sure that if you are on listening to
- 46:58Speaker 2: this on audio, check us out on YouTube. Can check
- 47:00Speaker 2: out those handsome mugs that are on the screen just now.
- 47:03Speaker 2: But yeah, I mean that's a really interesting take. You know. Also,
- 47:09Speaker 2: none of this is really like it's not an argument
- 47:11Speaker 2: or a debate really like we're not speaking here because
- 47:15Speaker 2: you know, we're trying to be proven right or take
- 47:17Speaker 2: take an l on a conversation. We just wanted to
- 47:19Speaker 2: share how we're feeling. And I'm glad that people are too.
- 47:22Speaker 2: You know, Spider is in the mail on YouTube, which
- 47:25Speaker 2: is a hilarious user name said bs us Chicanos can
- 47:30Speaker 2: handle the way plus stand and say next. So definitely
- 47:33Speaker 2: appreciate that take, because hey, you know, I was born
- 47:38Speaker 2: in Texas. I'm text mex My parents are from both
- 47:40Speaker 2: from Mexico. They crossed the border and I was born.
- 47:43Speaker 2: So it's not one of those things like people say, oh, yeah,
- 47:46Speaker 2: my grandma, great grandma immigrated from wherever years ago, like now, bro,
- 47:50Speaker 2: Like Spanish was my first language, so again, you know,
- 47:53Speaker 2: We're not saying this to start a fight. I'm saying that,
- 47:55Speaker 2: you know we I have a lot of pride in
- 47:57Speaker 2: our Mexican American Chicino fighters as well. But let's see,
- 48:02Speaker 2: Nico said Oscar was led. This is on TikTok by
- 48:04Speaker 2: the way, he says, Oscar was loving the boxing world
- 48:06Speaker 2: either from the USA, Mexico all over. People that love
- 48:09Speaker 2: boxing are not into boxing, and there will never be
- 48:11Speaker 2: another Oscar and Oscar is a born American. Really good point,
- 48:15Speaker 2: because we talked about just how popular and mainstream Oscar
- 48:18Speaker 2: Deelia was. The thing that I always kind of wanted
- 48:22Speaker 2: to add in context. Again, not arguing, but Oscar got
- 48:24Speaker 2: a lot of hate from from Mexico. Why hate?
- 48:29Speaker 3: I remember Fanlfargus told everybody he was not a real
- 48:31Speaker 3: Mexican and that was a big deal before their fight.
- 48:34Speaker 3: It was a very it was a very, very big
- 48:36Speaker 3: deal before they matched up in early two thousands.
- 48:40Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's hard for me to say so I'm
- 48:43Speaker 2: from the inside looking out because my mother will still
- 48:47Speaker 2: talk shit about oscardell Oh yeah, and I have to
- 48:49Speaker 2: be like mom, you can't say that anymore. Twenty twenty six,
- 48:51Speaker 2: Come on, we're all woke up. Bro, you can't talk
- 48:53Speaker 2: about him like that. So but yeah, she she may
- 48:57Speaker 2: colas about him being an authentic and just not very
- 49:00Speaker 2: madly let's say so. But I don't know. I mean,
- 49:02Speaker 2: you know, there's still that other side of it. He
- 49:05Speaker 2: was being streaming loved by a lot of people. But
- 49:07Speaker 2: the way I always thought in my experience, it was
- 49:10Speaker 2: always that, yeah, Mexicans from Mexico saw him as not
- 49:13Speaker 2: Mexican enough. He didn't speak Spanish, and he just wasn't
- 49:17Speaker 2: He wasn't really a part of the culture. I mean,
- 49:19Speaker 2: what's what's your take on it? Seeing it as a
- 49:22Speaker 2: as a black boxing fan, it's.
- 49:24Speaker 3: Tough because it's like you don't want to overstep because
- 49:27Speaker 3: certain conversations should not include outsiders. But it's one of
- 49:31Speaker 3: those things where I look at Oscar as like the
- 49:33Speaker 3: face of boxing at that time, So without knowing that
- 49:35Speaker 3: inner politics of things, it was like, oh, and then
- 49:39Speaker 3: you hear when I think made those comments, like that's interesting,
- 49:42Speaker 3: and then you hear other people like, yeah, like Oscar's cool,
- 49:45Speaker 3: but I rock with child Goes, you know, like so
- 49:49Speaker 3: you always or some people rock with Varga. There's a
- 49:52Speaker 3: lot of different people who had different fighters that they
- 49:55Speaker 3: rocked with at the time. It wasn't just all Oscar
- 49:57Speaker 3: house looking a you like what Oscar was marketing. He
- 50:00Speaker 3: always fought. It was always a big deal. As a
- 50:03Speaker 3: matter of fact, Oscar was like the first person that
- 50:06Speaker 3: had the beer specials on the pay per view where
- 50:09Speaker 3: if you've got if you get the free twelve pack
- 50:11Speaker 3: or twenty four like that's why I like so all
- 50:13Speaker 3: that stuff was like Oscar was like the face of
- 50:16Speaker 3: so seeing him fighte so many times, bringing a lot
- 50:20Speaker 3: of Mexicans to the arena. Every time he fought, you
- 50:23Speaker 3: automatically thought, oh, he's the man people and they come
- 50:27Speaker 3: to find out it's like, nah, that ain't It's no
- 50:29Speaker 3: further away from the truth.
- 50:31Speaker 2: So so yeah, yeah, And here's the thing, speaking to
- 50:35Speaker 2: someone again who grew up Mexican American and not you know,
- 50:39Speaker 2: from having uh you know grandparents are great parents from Mexico.
- 50:43Speaker 2: You know what Spanish is my first language. I personally
- 50:45Speaker 2: would never say somebody is that Mexican enough because they
- 50:47Speaker 2: don't speak Spanish. You know, the the Noo kids as
- 50:52Speaker 2: as they call them. Now. Man, you know, it's like
- 50:54Speaker 2: you can, of course, as long as you feel you're
- 50:57Speaker 2: part of the culture and you celebrate the culture. If
- 50:59Speaker 2: you're an assholes like learn English and go to hell,
- 51:02Speaker 2: you know, we don't want you. If you're I'll say it,
- 51:05Speaker 2: if you're a Mexican support size, we don't want you.
- 51:07Speaker 2: But other than that discussion that we can't have on
- 51:11Speaker 2: the show. But I'll leave it there. I'll leave it there.
- 51:14Speaker 2: I'll leave it there. But my point is that I'm
- 51:17Speaker 2: saying this in a very positive way. Yeah, you know there,
- 51:20Speaker 2: and I'll say this, you know, shame on the actual
- 51:23Speaker 2: Mechicanos who shut out, you know, brown kids from this
- 51:26Speaker 2: side of the border and say, oh, you're not you're
- 51:28Speaker 2: not Mexican enough. Because here's the thing that you know
- 51:31Speaker 2: a lot of kids in my position are going to
- 51:33Speaker 2: be in that we're not going to be American enough
- 51:35Speaker 2: for some people. You know what I'm saying. We just
- 51:37Speaker 2: saw the goddamn the Super Bowl halftimes. She'll get criticized
- 51:40Speaker 2: because it's Spanish, even though Bad Bunny is fucking American,
- 51:44Speaker 2: you know, so like we're getting it, We're already getting
- 51:47Speaker 2: it from the racist in the US, Like we don't
- 51:49Speaker 2: need to get bullshit from the Mexicans who were like, oh,
- 51:52Speaker 2: you grew up not speaking Spanish. Oh you grew up
- 51:54Speaker 2: on the American side. Yeah, I'm sorry, bro, Like I
- 51:59Speaker 2: I didn't ask to be born on either side and
- 52:02Speaker 2: has to be born at all, So like, what do
- 52:04Speaker 2: you want from me? You know, I grew up going
- 52:06Speaker 2: back to Mexico, like grew up going to Mexico across
- 52:08Speaker 2: the border. But I've never been to a haka. You know,
- 52:11Speaker 2: you can always find a reason to critique a Mexican
- 52:15Speaker 2: American or hey, Hispanic American. Let's not leave everybody else out,
- 52:18Speaker 2: you know, right, somebody born from you know, Melos one
- 52:21Speaker 2: in Chilean parents or in the US who don't speak Spanish, Like,
- 52:25Speaker 2: screw that, man. I don't really messed with any of that,
- 52:28Speaker 2: like oh you're not this enough, or you're not part
- 52:30Speaker 2: of the culture. You know, as long as, like I said,
- 52:31Speaker 2: you rock with with your people, you celebrate it, you
- 52:33Speaker 2: love everybody, like bad Bunny showed on the on this
- 52:37Speaker 2: halftime show, that's awesome. So I will absolutely push back
- 52:40Speaker 2: on any Mexicans from Mexico, even if they're my own
- 52:43Speaker 2: deos and primos or anything like that. I'll push back
- 52:46Speaker 2: against that so I feel, yeah, so just a couple
- 52:50Speaker 2: more here to give a shout out to all the
- 52:51Speaker 2: people commenting this guy. It's hard to see what this is.
- 52:55Speaker 2: This is supposed to be. So it's Louis five two
- 52:58Speaker 2: zero en, so maybe he's like supposed to be Louis
- 53:01Speaker 2: twenty end something like that. I five was supposed to
- 53:03Speaker 2: be NS. I don't know. I'm sorry, I don't know
- 53:06Speaker 2: what your handle means. But he says, true words, only
- 53:09Speaker 2: a Mexican born fighter carries that weight. We may never
- 53:11Speaker 2: see a Chavis Senior or Canelo again. It's kind of
- 53:14Speaker 2: the point that Tony was making. Then we got Eric here.
- 53:18Speaker 2: He's got a really long one. So he's bringing his
- 53:21Speaker 2: opinion just as long as you're cool and not getting into,
- 53:24Speaker 2: you know, fights on our common session. But he says,
- 53:26Speaker 2: Mexican American fighters, more talented, bring way more fans. Canelo
- 53:29Speaker 2: was scared of losing his glory and getting it took
- 53:31Speaker 2: from a Mexican American from the US. Benavidez, I can't
- 53:36Speaker 2: really disagree with that. I can't. I can't really push
- 53:40Speaker 2: back against that, man. I mean, yeah, you gotta understand,
- 53:45Speaker 2: but also you got to understand where your limits are right,
- 53:48Speaker 2: you know, facts facts, So yeah, and then let's see
- 53:54Speaker 2: the last one here. That's a funny one. And I'm
- 53:56Speaker 2: I'm sure I missed a couple, so you know, please
- 53:59Speaker 2: are our TikTok is popping, Our YouTube is popping, so
- 54:02Speaker 2: please comment. It was a like follow jd Getnagodeo seventy
- 54:06Speaker 2: six says take what you can get kind of kind
- 54:08Speaker 2: of mesa, to which I replied, considering that the worst
- 54:12Speaker 2: kind of as tacos of my life were ones that
- 54:15Speaker 2: I had during a layover at a Chicago airport, I
- 54:17Speaker 2: can't say that. I agree.
- 54:19Speaker 3: Yeah, nah, that ain't right, That ain't Nope, Nope, nope, nope, nope,
- 54:22Speaker 3: that ain't it.
- 54:25Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, man, I've had some. I've had some not
- 54:27Speaker 2: great cut of a side. I've had some terrible, kind
- 54:29Speaker 2: of an awful I've had.
- 54:32Speaker 3: Man, we have so there's so many spots in Vegas.
- 54:36Speaker 3: We have like a taco shop on every corner basically right,
- 54:40Speaker 3: Some are fire, some are or mid, some just ain't it.
- 54:43Speaker 3: And I've had too many at it's in the city.
- 54:47Speaker 3: But also I live in part of the city where
- 54:49Speaker 3: it's like the anti tacos spot, So it makes sense,
- 54:53Speaker 3: like the East side of Vegas has the best ones,
- 54:55Speaker 3: but that's like a thirty minute drive, and I don't
- 54:57Speaker 3: fight driving all that time for tacos. But you know,
- 55:00Speaker 3: but yeah, for the most part. Yeah, but I've had
- 55:03Speaker 3: bad car insid that ain't it?
- 55:05Speaker 2: Wait, so what's why are you? Is your are in
- 55:08Speaker 2: and not have much good ones because there's not that.
- 55:10Speaker 3: More so it's a better it's a nicer area, it's
- 55:13Speaker 3: more expensive with like, so most of the good taco
- 55:16Speaker 3: shops are in places where the restaurant rent or the
- 55:19Speaker 3: space is a lot cheaper. So on the east side
- 55:22Speaker 3: of town, you can rent a restaurant for probably a
- 55:24Speaker 3: thousand a month, just tw hypothetically speak, you probably get
- 55:27Speaker 3: away with one thousand a month, maybe even twelve hundred
- 55:30Speaker 3: a month.
- 55:31Speaker 2: Out here.
- 55:32Speaker 3: You're not getting anything under two at certain shopping centers,
- 55:36Speaker 3: so it makes sense. Now, Luckily, we have a lot
- 55:38Speaker 3: of taco trucks here that'd be all over so you'll
- 55:41Speaker 3: catch a random taco shop in the parking lot of
- 55:44Speaker 3: a bank after hours. So if you go to the
- 55:47Speaker 3: bank or you're just driving around, you'll see a taco
- 55:50Speaker 3: truck posted in a random parking lot and they selling
- 55:54Speaker 3: tacos from six to ten. So there's a lot of
- 55:56Speaker 3: good taco spots out here, but a lot of very
- 55:59Speaker 3: o ratus spot And the what you off done to
- 56:01Speaker 3: King Taco is outrageous, the one on the strip y'alled
- 56:06Speaker 3: on bast ride that spot so much to where it's
- 56:10Speaker 3: cool if you don't know no better. But we have
- 56:13Speaker 3: so many good places, man, we have so many more
- 56:16Speaker 3: options than that. I hope people that come to Vegas
- 56:20Speaker 3: that have you have if you have a car, if
- 56:22Speaker 3: you're driving, there's so many other options that are close
- 56:25Speaker 3: enough to where you can get way better than that.
- 56:28Speaker 2: Okay, respect respect.
- 56:30Speaker 3: Uh.
- 56:30Speaker 2: Yeah, here's the thing that I've always said, Uh, the
- 56:33Speaker 2: foods of poor people food is always going to be
- 56:34Speaker 2: better than anything else. And when somebody takes poor people
- 56:38Speaker 2: food and tries to make it fancier, it's never going
- 56:41Speaker 2: to be that good. I'm sorry, I saw a TikTok video.
- 56:44Speaker 2: This is something like if your Mexican restaurant has like
- 56:47Speaker 2: a vibe or theme and there's like techi shit on
- 56:50Speaker 2: the walls, like a neon sign that says tequila please
- 56:52Speaker 2: or whatever, and if they serve the tacos in that
- 56:56Speaker 2: wavy little metal holder thing. I'm cool. Yeah, oh thank you.
- 57:01Speaker 2: Don't do that. Yeah, so you know, take it. Yes,
- 57:05Speaker 2: you know, sometimes you might have to go into the
- 57:06Speaker 2: dicier parts of town to get to the food trucks,
- 57:08Speaker 2: to get to the places that are a little Like
- 57:10Speaker 2: you said, the rent is cheaper, but that food is
- 57:13Speaker 2: let's say, like ninety nine percent of the time, is
- 57:15Speaker 2: gonna be way more fire. You know. Everybody can have
- 57:17Speaker 2: missus of course, but yeah, definitely don't don't settle, don't
- 57:23Speaker 2: don't buy fancy Mexican food, don't buy fancy Indian food, like,
- 57:26Speaker 2: come on, honestly, I think Indian food might be the
- 57:29Speaker 2: best food in the world. Sorry, sorry, make but it's
- 57:32Speaker 2: got to be from the from the hole in the wall,
- 57:34Speaker 2: poor spots. So cool. But yeah, shout out to everybody commenting, uh,
- 57:41Speaker 2: you know, and thanks for all being for being respectful.
- 57:43Speaker 2: Anybody who comes in, I'll either call you out or
- 57:46Speaker 2: delete your delete your stuff if you're you know, saying
- 57:49Speaker 2: anything messed up, just just anything disrespectful or inappropriate. So
- 57:53Speaker 2: just you know, I'm I keep a close eye on that,
- 57:54Speaker 2: so we don't we don't fuck with that around here.
- 57:57Speaker 2: The only people you can be disrespectful to is Jake,
- 58:00Speaker 2: Paul and his brother Paul Logan go nuts, go nuts.
- 58:05Speaker 2: All right, So that's what we got for y'all today. Everybody, Jamison,
- 58:08Speaker 2: where can people find you? On social media? On Twitter?
- 58:10Speaker 3: Atthew Jamison beyond there, we got the fights coming up
- 58:14Speaker 3: next our next week's will be a big weekend here
- 58:16Speaker 3: in the city. You know, big, big matchups, a lot
- 58:19Speaker 3: of good fighters, a lot of up and coming guys
- 58:22Speaker 3: that are trying to make their mark. It's good good
- 58:25Speaker 3: not having my guy Hitchins is fighting on the fight
- 58:28Speaker 3: below as well. So yeah, I got got some stuff,
- 58:32Speaker 3: got some stuff. There's some good fights this weekend too,
- 58:35Speaker 3: so definitely it's a Mason's fighting as well.
- 58:38Speaker 2: So oh, I'm so excited to see him and Richardson
