- 0:20Speaker 2: Papa Team six Welcome, Welcome to another episode A for
- 0:24Speaker 2: the Dads. You might be thinking to yourself, Willie boy,
- 0:27Speaker 2: why is you sound a little down right now? I'm
- 0:30Speaker 2: doing that to anchor the emotion for the severity of
- 0:35Speaker 2: a situation that we need to address. A few things
- 0:40Speaker 2: happened a few episodes ago that we need to handle
- 0:45Speaker 2: and before we do anything else and get into this episode,
- 0:49Speaker 2: I just urge you guys to listen to this message.
- 0:53Speaker 3: Thank you, my fellow Americans and PT sixers. A few
- 1:13Speaker 3: weeks ago, I was on this incredible podcast and I
- 1:16Speaker 3: confidently announced to the world that my next child would
- 1:20Speaker 3: be a boy. The ultrasound supported these claims, and like
- 1:25Speaker 3: many leaders before me, I spoke with great confidence, but
- 1:29Speaker 3: perhaps a bit too early. After further review, including a
- 1:37Speaker 3: blood sample in the official anatomy scan. New information has
- 1:42Speaker 3: come across my desk, and tonight I sit before you
- 1:49Speaker 3: to say we are in fact having a girl. Now listen,
- 1:58Speaker 3: I'm not going to lie to you. I was extremely
- 2:01Speaker 3: excited about having the possibility of a boy, but as
- 2:04Speaker 3: a father of girls, I also know there is nothing
- 2:07Speaker 3: better than raising strong, hilarious, sweet little girls who completely
- 2:11Speaker 3: run my household. So while the administration briefly believed it
- 2:15Speaker 3: was entering in its boy dad era, we are proudly
- 2:19Speaker 3: continuing the current policy of girl dad dominance. The science
- 2:28Speaker 3: is in, the decision is final, and I cannot be
- 2:32Speaker 3: more grateful to my beautiful daughters. When Rebel Lawan, my oldest,
- 2:37Speaker 3: I will say, your beauty is unmatched, your confidence is unreal.
- 2:41Speaker 3: You've never met a stranger in your entire life. You
- 2:44Speaker 3: keep us guessing with your profound thoughts, and I love
- 2:47Speaker 3: being your dad each and every single day. To my youngest,
- 2:51Speaker 3: Willow Rose Lawan, your bravery and knowing who you are
- 2:55Speaker 3: and what you want at all times keeps us on
- 2:57Speaker 3: our toes, and I have no doubt later in life
- 2:59Speaker 3: you will be one of the extremely successful women this
- 3:02Speaker 3: world has ever seen. I am so gratefully honored to
- 3:05Speaker 3: be your father, and I know that both of you
- 3:07Speaker 3: are going to be amazing older sisters to our youngest daughter.
- 3:14Speaker 3: I want to say thank you. I want to say
- 3:17Speaker 3: God bless my wife, God bless these United States of America,
- 3:21Speaker 3: God bless these proud girl dads out there, and God
- 3:25Speaker 3: bless for the dads. This hat is now available on Wednesday.

- 10:06Speaker 2: having Uncle Wyatt up, like they were awesome with the kiddos,
- 10:09Speaker 2: seeing whyitet and Morgan engaging with Rue was on ten
- 10:13Speaker 2: the entire time because they came Friday night and they
- 10:16Speaker 2: got in late, so they probably got in around ten o'clock.
- 10:18Speaker 1: Kids were already in bed. Yeah.
- 10:20Speaker 2: And I'm telling my wife, I'm telling Charles, my sweetart,
- 10:22Speaker 2: sit up, stand up, Like this isn't little brother Wyatt

- 10:43Speaker 1: That's sick.
- 10:44Speaker 2: You see there's a pool back there. When I get
- 10:45Speaker 2: sunny out tomorrow, you'll be able to see it.
- 10:47Speaker 1: Tomorrow.
- 10:47Speaker 2: We're gonna be in it. Did you bring your swimming
- 10:49Speaker 2: drunks swimming trunks. He's like, is it heated him? Of
- 10:52Speaker 2: course it's heated.
- 10:54Speaker 1: And uh.
- 10:55Speaker 2: But as we're all kind of winding down having some conversation,
- 10:59Speaker 2: I'm like, dude, who is going to be so hype's?
- 11:03Speaker 1: She was asking about sleep because it's ten o'clock. Yeah, yeah,
- 11:06Speaker 1: you know.
- 11:06Speaker 2: I was like, I just know when we wake up
- 11:08Speaker 2: the morning, because you know, why can they can sleep in?
- 11:11Speaker 1: Why he can sleep in?
- 11:12Speaker 2: He might be a nine or ten guy at times
- 11:14Speaker 2: eight he does teach, so he's got to get up
- 11:16Speaker 2: throughout the week to be a teacher.
- 11:18Speaker 1: Yeah, but on weekends.
- 11:21Speaker 2: I know my boy, I know my little bro likes
- 11:22Speaker 2: to sleep as eight am at the latest.
- 11:26Speaker 1: Because I'm telling you right now, you told him that. Yeah,
- 11:29Speaker 1: because I'm telling you right now, ru is gonna want
- 11:31Speaker 1: to go in your room and wake you up?
- 11:33Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, but he was operating. He was ready to
- 11:35Speaker 2: go showered up. But it was around eight o'clock and Rue,
- 11:38Speaker 2: what do you know? It god done eating breakfast. She's like,
- 11:40Speaker 2: can I go wake up Uncle Wyatt. I'm like, sure,
- 11:42Speaker 2: you can go back there and wake up Uncle Wyatt
- 11:45Speaker 2: because I didn't know what he was doing. He's like
- 11:47Speaker 2: getting ready or if he was up and going. But uh,
- 11:51Speaker 2: Rue and Scotty loved having him around, especially Ru's got
- 11:54Speaker 2: somebody new to boss around and watch her do things.
- 11:58Speaker 2: And hey, whyatt, uncle whya? Let me tell you something,
- 12:01Speaker 2: Uncle White, Let me tell you something. Let me show
- 12:03Speaker 2: you this. Here's how you do it, Uncle White. You
- 12:05Speaker 2: gotta watch. You can't get any sidebar conversations. No, uncle, whyatt?
- 12:09Speaker 1: I need you to watch how much she was Morgan? Watch?
- 12:11Speaker 2: Yeah, you loved Morgan. Love Morgan. We went to so Saturday,
- 12:15Speaker 2: we went to the Farmer's Market. I shot a couple
- 12:17Speaker 2: of photos to Derek because I was holding I was
- 12:19Speaker 2: holding a nice burrito from Yeah Yo's OMG food truck
- 12:22Speaker 2: and it goes to Franklin Farmer's Market every weekend and
- 12:25Speaker 2: I love it. Yeah yeah, but Derek is the food
- 12:29Speaker 2: food kind of saw himself.
- 12:30Speaker 1: Yes, mad respect for Derek and his food game.
- 12:33Speaker 2: I'm sending him photos of these the burritos that I've
- 12:36Speaker 2: had around town, or the food truck sitting around. We're
- 12:39Speaker 2: having a little picnic on the grass. We don't have
- 12:40Speaker 2: a blanket, rather than picnic on the grass.
- 12:42Speaker 1: Food pictures. Have you gotten from Will just enough, not enough,
- 12:47Speaker 1: but maybe two total right now.
- 12:49Speaker 6: Burrito though, had this cheese crust on that just like
- 12:52Speaker 6: I audibly gasped, and Kat was like, what's wrong? And
- 12:54Speaker 6: I was like, this is what's wrong? And I showed
- 12:56Speaker 6: her and she's like, well, where's that? And then we
- 12:58Speaker 6: got the picture of the whole. It was a vibe.
- 12:59Speaker 6: It looked like a completely It.
- 13:00Speaker 2: Was a good vibe because Frunkle Farmer's Market just moved.
- 13:03Speaker 2: Now they're operating wherever that was, and it was fun.
- 13:07Speaker 2: So we went to the Farmer's Market. We did some
- 13:09Speaker 2: grocery shopping to get ready for like a little cookout
- 13:11Speaker 2: because the in laws were coming over. But it's just
- 13:13Speaker 2: so nice having family around it in town. I know,
- 13:16Speaker 2: you have your parents in town, your family in town
- 13:18Speaker 2: quite a bit, but it's so nice because you're standing
- 13:21Speaker 2: in line, you're doing all these things, but you know,
- 13:24Speaker 2: whether it's Uncle Wyatt or Morgan, like you can kind
- 13:26Speaker 2: of divide and conquer. Kids want to go out and
- 13:28Speaker 2: play in that massive field. We got done getting the
- 13:31Speaker 2: burritos and you turn around and look and the kids
- 13:32Speaker 2: are just out there in the middle of the field.
- 13:34Speaker 1: Just Boston. Uncle Wyatt around Boston, Morgan around and you
- 13:38Speaker 1: probably can't hear anything, you just see it. Yeah, And
- 13:41Speaker 1: I'm just just smiling as I'm just watching, just having
- 13:45Speaker 1: a great time.
- 13:46Speaker 5: Lord knows what Ruth's spouting off to Wyatt. Yeah, telling
- 13:49Speaker 5: them what to do.
- 13:50Speaker 1: We got these and Charlotte's to get these.
- 13:53Speaker 2: Man, I hate that I can't shout them out because
- 13:54Speaker 2: I can't think of their name. But these donuts, He's like,
- 13:58Speaker 2: uh not powdered donuts.
- 14:01Speaker 1: Damn. Anyway, Charlo's getting these donuts, some pretty good donuts
- 14:06Speaker 1: and good farmers Franklin Farmer's markets, cash only, and we
- 14:11Speaker 1: bring it back back to the house and whoa, wouldn't
- 14:14Speaker 1: you know it? My father in law, Lola and Opa,
- 14:19Speaker 1: they come over.
- 14:19Speaker 2: But my father in law, without asking, without asking any question,
- 14:25Speaker 2: takes my chocolate covered donut that I wanted.
- 14:32Speaker 1: Well, he is German.
- 14:33Speaker 5: They're for their for their strudles, for their baking, but
- 14:38Speaker 5: what's the low donuts?
- 14:39Speaker 2: The in law's coming over your parents or whatever and
- 14:42Speaker 2: just thinking they have access to everything without asking permission.
- 14:47Speaker 1: Did he have like a little bit on the mouth
- 14:48Speaker 1: to when you're looking around.
- 14:50Speaker 2: I didn't know it until I went looking for it
- 14:52Speaker 2: because I started to prep the meat, get ready for steaking,
- 14:55Speaker 2: you know, steaking.
- 14:57Speaker 1: Or joke and blow march warts. I had some nice steaks.
- 15:01Speaker 1: But I go in and I'm like, I know it's
- 15:03Speaker 1: gonna take a little bit, and I'm kind of hungry.
- 15:05Speaker 1: I want a little snack. We've been swimming in the
- 15:07Speaker 1: pool all day.
- 15:08Speaker 5: Yeah, you're just gonna provide for your family tonight, and yeah,
- 15:10Speaker 5: cook the whole damn the kah.
- 15:12Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm just gonna do everything. Well, you're welcome right now.
- 15:16Speaker 2: It's running through my mind and what's stuff to charge do?
- 15:18Speaker 1: So I can at least right he's open, he's OPA.
- 15:22Speaker 2: But I go and I'm like, oh, yeah, those donuts.
- 15:23Speaker 2: I forgot about the donuts. And I go and I
- 15:26Speaker 2: see the bag of donuts and I open it up
- 15:28Speaker 2: and look and there's only two left. It's like a
- 15:31Speaker 2: cinnamon one and then another one like another sugar donut,
- 15:35Speaker 2: and my chocolate one's not in there. And so I
- 15:37Speaker 2: go out to the pool area out back like charlo, hey,
- 15:41Speaker 2: where's my donut?
- 15:42Speaker 1: And then when you know it, opah, Oh, I'm sorry,
- 15:46Speaker 1: I ate it. And I'm thinking on my head, what
- 15:51Speaker 1: what the fuck? Bro oh, opah, you sprecking my Deutsche
- 15:55Speaker 1: at my house. I hit it with just a laugh
- 15:57Speaker 1: and like, oh, it's all good. But I'm thinking in
- 15:59Speaker 1: my head, use on afu. Hey, opah, Hey, that reminds you.
- 16:05Speaker 1: Come here, let's take a walk. Hey, come here, Hey,
- 16:09Speaker 1: you know what olpah, come here.
- 16:11Speaker 2: Yeah he might he might come into the pantry with
- 16:14Speaker 2: me and having a word. But I sat on it.
- 16:18Speaker 2: But I'm thinking, what the fuck, why are you just
- 16:21Speaker 2: taking you?
- 16:21Speaker 1: Did you just not?
- 16:22Speaker 2: Are you just opening the bag? And like he loves sweets.
- 16:25Speaker 2: He loves the sweets, he loves his snacks. I'm sure
- 16:26Speaker 2: there's there's pt sixers out there, empty sixers thinking of
- 16:29Speaker 2: their dad or thinking of their father, and oh yeah,
- 16:31Speaker 2: they love coming over and getting in the snack job.
- 16:33Speaker 1: Oh yeah, they'll getting in the cabinets. But I sat
- 16:38Speaker 1: on it, and I saved it.
- 16:39Speaker 2: For rosen Thorn when we had dinner and we go
- 16:41Speaker 2: around and Rue wants everybody. Rue wants everybody to do
- 16:45Speaker 2: rosen Thorn because he was apologetic, and I was like,
- 16:48Speaker 2: I should have asked, because I'm thinking Charles has got
- 16:50Speaker 2: like a half dozen they're six she she mama likes
- 16:53Speaker 2: a couple. I just wanted a chocolate cover one, sweetheart,
- 16:55Speaker 2: just give me one chocolate cover one. So we bring
- 16:57Speaker 2: them home. There's four left in the bag. But it's
- 16:59Speaker 2: a fresh bag that's on the island, you know what
- 17:01Speaker 2: I mean. It's not like he goes in a cabinet
- 17:03Speaker 2: and see something. It's like, oh, here's some snacks. I'll
- 17:05Speaker 2: get some sacks. It's a fresh bag sitting on the island.
- 17:07Speaker 1: Four left. He eats two of them, one being my
- 17:10Speaker 1: chocolate covered donut. So we're sitting down there at dinner time.
- 17:14Speaker 2: You're in the cookout and we go around us making
- 17:17Speaker 2: everybody do rose and thorn my roses. Uncle Wyatt Morgan
- 17:21Speaker 2: coming to the talent, seeing my little brother and getting
- 17:23Speaker 2: to spend time and seeing him spend time and play
- 17:24Speaker 2: with you guys, and seeing the family together, having our
- 17:27Speaker 2: in laws over it, just having a squad again.
- 17:29Speaker 1: Seeing some new fresh faces around. Yeah, what's your thorn?
- 17:34Speaker 1: My thorn?
- 17:37Speaker 2: My thorn is Opa eating my chocolate donut. Everybody starts laughing.
- 17:41Speaker 1: He's laughing, but you can tell he's laughing, but also
- 17:44Speaker 1: like I can tell, yeah, yeah, whill are you also? Man?
- 17:49Speaker 2: I'm thinking, yeah, yeah, Opa, eating my chocolate donut. I
- 17:52Speaker 2: just kind of leave it at that. I'm more so
- 17:53Speaker 2: venting now that I have for the dads. Yeah, Opa
- 17:56Speaker 2: might even be out there listening right now.
- 17:58Speaker 5: So y'all haven't had y'all have how to follow up
- 18:01Speaker 5: on the chocolate donut experience.
- 18:02Speaker 7: I don't.
- 18:03Speaker 1: To me.
- 18:03Speaker 2: It's one of those situations where the energy being exchanged
- 18:08Speaker 2: is very family friendly fun. Yeah, but also in the
- 18:13Speaker 2: same breath, and I think men can attest to this
- 18:16Speaker 2: in the same breath. What's understood doesn't need to be said. Yeah,
- 18:21Speaker 2: So I do think that we solved a problem without
- 18:24Speaker 2: talking about it.
- 18:25Speaker 1: Yeah, he learned something that day. That's what men assume anyway.
- 18:29Speaker 2: You assume that if I just give off a certain
- 18:31Speaker 2: body language or energy, problem's gonna get solved.
- 18:34Speaker 1: Yeah. Then if it comes back up, it's like, what
- 18:35Speaker 1: do you mean I kind of posture like this.
- 18:37Speaker 2: You shouldn't. You saw the look in my face. Everybody
- 18:40Speaker 2: else laughed with thorn. I smiled, but I wasn't laughing.
- 18:45Speaker 2: I was looking at that extra little WinCE in your eyes.
- 18:48Speaker 2: It was that that linger and little look. Is that
- 18:52Speaker 2: I da you to do it again?
- 18:54Speaker 1: What was Olpu's rose I wasn't listening to nobody. I
- 19:00Speaker 1: was just waiting for Mike to go on the Rose
- 19:02Speaker 1: and Thorn. Great Family Today shows. What are they called
- 19:06Speaker 1: Ellie's Old Fashioned Donut?
- 19:08Speaker 2: Yes, Ellie's Ellie's Old Fashioned Donuts. Shout out pool, shout
- 19:12Speaker 2: out Ellie's no free shoutouts.
- 19:14Speaker 1: God. It's good family fun over the weekend.
- 19:17Speaker 5: The one note I would give to Opah has just
- 19:19Speaker 5: come clean about it, miss Amy my mom did?
- 19:23Speaker 1: He came clean?
- 19:24Speaker 4: Well?
- 19:25Speaker 1: When I came out to charl I was like, Charle,
- 19:26Speaker 1: where's my chocolate donut? Yeah?
- 19:28Speaker 2: She's like it should be in the bag, And I
- 19:30Speaker 2: was like, oh, I ate it on that he might
- 19:32Speaker 2: have sat on accident, I can't remember.
- 19:34Speaker 1: That's apologizing because you got caught, not because you did it.
- 19:37Speaker 1: You know what I mean? You slice on a little bit, Oprah.
- 19:40Speaker 1: My mom has come in town twice.
- 19:43Speaker 5: You know those little Valgue packs of the vanilla and
- 19:46Speaker 5: chocolate ice.
- 19:47Speaker 1: Cream hit the Bluebell. Yeah, she's completely gutted us twice
- 19:54Speaker 1: when she's come in town and apologized profusely about it.
- 19:59Speaker 5: I'm not a sweet to so it doesn't affect me.
- 20:01Speaker 5: I'm not worried about it. Jill wasn't worried about it,
- 20:05Speaker 5: because miss Amy's like, hey, I'm gonna You're never.
- 20:08Speaker 2: Worried about it until you're going to the freezer to
- 20:10Speaker 2: get some ice cream and it's all gone and you're like, honey,
- 20:12Speaker 2: what happened to the ice cream? It's like, oh, oh yeah,
- 20:14Speaker 2: my mom was in town, and so you know, I
- 20:16Speaker 2: bet your mom made it.
- 20:17Speaker 1: I bet her ass did eat it.
- 20:19Speaker 5: If for any listeners of the pod, they're probably sitting
- 20:21Speaker 5: there thinking, Oh, Reese's peanut Buttercup, Valentine's Day, four times
- 20:25Speaker 5: hard Box, miss Amy.
- 20:28Speaker 2: I was gonna say, like, are we talking about the
- 20:30Speaker 2: same mom Is that the same mom? Us is over
- 20:34Speaker 2: and over and over? Apologize profusely if he continued to
- 20:39Speaker 2: eat it over and over and again.
- 20:41Speaker 5: Maybe I've grown callous in numb to it at this
- 20:43Speaker 5: point because I'm I'm used to that behavior and it
- 20:47Speaker 5: deterred me from having a sweet tooth.
- 20:48Speaker 1: Maybe a good thing.
- 20:50Speaker 5: But I did get some follow up phone calls for
- 20:52Speaker 5: miss Amy buying ice cream for us to like replenish.
- 20:56Speaker 2: I should just randomly text over right now, like we don't.
- 20:59Speaker 2: It's not like we're texting all the time. Would you
- 21:01Speaker 2: send them just a random text, I can't believe you
- 21:05Speaker 2: ate my chocolate donut. We're usually just talking, like if
- 21:10Speaker 2: somebody's out of town or something to work at the house.
- 21:13Speaker 1: You know, you're kind of having that exchange and back
- 21:14Speaker 1: and yeah, so you have a right now you have
- 21:19Speaker 1: a joking relationship with your father. Yes, okay, I guess
- 21:24Speaker 1: like I'm not.
- 21:26Speaker 2: Mad per se, but I felt some type of way
- 21:29Speaker 2: about that particular situation.
- 21:30Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm like, hey, I listen, I love you. I
- 21:33Speaker 1: know you got a sweet tooth.
- 21:35Speaker 2: But we got to have some awareness and ask a
- 21:40Speaker 2: couple of questions.
- 21:41Speaker 1: Especially if you say you look in a.
- 21:42Speaker 2: Donut bag and say they're all glazed, or say they're
- 21:45Speaker 2: all the same kind, and you grab one or two,
- 21:48Speaker 2: you know you're just grabbing part of the part of
- 21:50Speaker 2: the flock. But you see one solo chocolate covered doughnut
- 21:55Speaker 2: in there.
- 21:55Speaker 5: Oh, that might be there for a reason. Somebody might
- 21:57Speaker 5: have speciactically ordered that.
- 21:59Speaker 1: That's all I'm asking, Yeah, it's all I'm asking. And no,
- 22:02Speaker 1: no for dads. I think a dad hack unlocked in
- 22:04Speaker 1: that moment.
- 22:05Speaker 5: Is just get a little paper towel action, go ahead
- 22:09Speaker 5: and snack that will and hide it. I know it's
- 22:12Speaker 5: your house and you don't need to be hiding in
- 22:14Speaker 5: your house.
- 22:15Speaker 1: Yeah, what are we talking? What are we talking about?
- 22:17Speaker 1: But we're outnumbered. We're outnumbered. The girls are gonna be
- 22:22Speaker 1: growing up, stuff's gonna be vanishing, and maybe you gotta
- 22:25Speaker 1: fight for yourself a little bit. Yeah, I see what
- 22:29Speaker 1: you're saying there.
- 22:30Speaker 2: To me, I would think of that dad hack of
- 22:32Speaker 2: more of a with your kids, because they're not.
- 22:36Speaker 1: They're not they're not growing kids. That was for kids.
- 22:39Speaker 1: We're talking about mature adults.
- 22:40Speaker 5: Yeah, we're talking about father in laws. Yeah, yeah, we're
- 22:43Speaker 5: talking about father in law. Were talking about We're not
- 22:46Speaker 5: even talking about a game. We're talking about practice with
- 22:49Speaker 5: father in laws. Great weekends, like a fantastic weekend. I
- 22:55Speaker 5: had an incredible weekend, incredible weekend. I had a lot
- 22:59Speaker 5: of fun stuff. I did have my APR that I thought.
- 23:04Speaker 1: We could go over APR, Dad brain, I forgot my APR. No,
- 23:07Speaker 1: you're fine, go ahead hit.
- 23:08Speaker 5: Your and this is just our after pod report. I
- 23:13Speaker 5: got some notes from wifey this weekend. Yeah, got some
- 23:17Speaker 5: notes from wifey.
- 23:19Speaker 1: One. We're moving, Oh you're moving, We're moving. I thought
- 23:24Speaker 1: you were talking about Hey, you're talking about continuing to
- 23:26Speaker 1: run or maybe you buy the house.
- 23:28Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, we'll pour into it and no rehabilitate
- 23:32Speaker 2: the house.
- 23:33Speaker 1: Great news, we're moving. My wife broke the great news
- 23:36Speaker 1: to me that we're done with this rent house.
- 23:40Speaker 5: We're looking for a new rent house. Our leases up
- 23:42Speaker 5: in June, so it's perfect timing here in March to
- 23:46Speaker 5: start looking for some new houses.
- 23:48Speaker 1: I'm very excited.
- 23:49Speaker 2: So your tone and your body language is telling me.
- 23:55Speaker 2: This is the vibe I'm getting. You're saying we're moving,
- 23:59Speaker 2: like you're all happy, Yeah, happy, go lucky. Yeah, my
- 24:02Speaker 2: wife said we're moving. I'm feeling that you just got
- 24:06Speaker 2: told that you're moving.
- 24:09Speaker 1: I certainly got told by my wonderful, beautiful wife that
- 24:13Speaker 1: were moving. That's your Yeah, you didn't miss anything. But
- 24:17Speaker 1: some of the audience might be thinking, all, was this
- 24:19Speaker 1: a team? Was this a team? Ever?
- 24:20Speaker 2: Like you guys are both wanting to move, or it's
- 24:22Speaker 2: just all of a sudden something happened. We're getting out
- 24:24Speaker 2: of this guy.
- 24:25Speaker 5: I don't think when it's a great idea like that,
- 24:29Speaker 5: I don't think there needs to be a whole lot
- 24:31Speaker 5: of like discussion.
- 24:33Speaker 1: I think she had a great idea and we're going
- 24:36Speaker 1: with it. Yeah, yeah, absolutely. How did it happen? How
- 24:39Speaker 1: did this come to be?
- 24:41Speaker 5: I got a text of some mouse poop on the
- 24:45Speaker 5: kitchen counter and uh, it followed up by a text
- 24:49Speaker 5: of we're moving, which was phenomenal news.
- 24:52Speaker 1: I was very excited. How did you respond to say? Oh, yeah,
- 24:56Speaker 1: it's a great win, you know what.
- 25:00Speaker 5: Let me get on zillo And then she beat me
- 25:02Speaker 5: to it and started sending me Zillow stuff of the
- 25:06Speaker 5: new houses that we'll be moving into, which is great.
- 25:09Speaker 1: Oh she already did the work. Yeah.
- 25:12Speaker 5: And some of these houses are up to thirty five
- 25:15Speaker 5: forty five minutes away, so I'll have a lot of
- 25:18Speaker 5: time on the road self reflection.
- 25:20Speaker 2: Thirty five to forty five minutes away, Like right now,
- 25:22Speaker 2: you're a couple of minutes away from the shop.
- 25:24Speaker 1: Yeah, a little too close if you, if you ask me,
- 25:27Speaker 1: a little too close. You could walk each day here?
- 25:30Speaker 1: I know, But why do that?
- 25:31Speaker 5: Why run to work like Dan Gable when you can
- 25:34Speaker 5: drive thirty five to forty five minutes?
- 25:39Speaker 1: But I'm very excited for that, I can tell Yeah,
- 25:41Speaker 1: I could she segue too.
- 25:43Speaker 5: She's thinking a lot about child number two, maybe potentially
- 25:46Speaker 5: trying for child number two, which I think is another
- 25:49Speaker 5: great idea from the WiFi, because we didn't have any
- 25:53Speaker 5: plans to like wait or anything like that, like any
- 25:56Speaker 5: type of agreed on.
- 25:58Speaker 1: Schedule or anything. So we'll drive for baby number two
- 26:01Speaker 1: and then hopefully she what I'm aiming for is she's
- 26:05Speaker 1: pregnant during the move would be ideal. Third trimester.
- 26:09Speaker 5: Damn, it may be nesting stage, maybe like late second trimester,
- 26:14Speaker 5: when the anxiety's like at its peak.
- 26:16Speaker 1: Yeah, we'll try and time it out.
- 26:18Speaker 2: But when their hormones have been completely hijacked, Yeah, that's
- 26:22Speaker 2: the time to move.
- 26:23Speaker 1: That's the time to move. So I'm out. But hey,
- 26:25Speaker 1: baby number two, new house, baby number two and new
- 26:29Speaker 1: house homeowner. Yep, sherman, what are you gonna do about
- 26:32Speaker 1: the mice? Don't worry. I caught it, and I did
- 26:34Speaker 1: take a picture this morning.
- 26:35Speaker 5: But then I was like, that's a little it's a
- 26:37Speaker 5: little gruesome to show on the live. But long live
- 26:41Speaker 5: the king. I'm the king of my domicile. Yet again,
- 26:45Speaker 5: the mouse has been defeated. That's this morning. That's that's
- 26:48Speaker 5: all off the press.
- 26:49Speaker 1: Back to APR though, I got another great note from
- 26:52Speaker 1: my wife that I need to work on the three piece, Sherman,
- 26:58Speaker 1: what are the three peas?
- 26:59Speaker 5: The three piece A pubes, poop and p And Jill
- 27:04Speaker 5: made a great she made a fantastic note that whenever's.
- 27:07Speaker 2: Poop and pee, pubes poop and pee. And I'm thinking
- 27:10Speaker 2: this is scarlet. But then you say pubes so that
- 27:12Speaker 2: I'm like.
- 27:13Speaker 5: God, it's not our eight month old. So I'm like, oh,
- 27:17Speaker 5: that must yeah, that must be she's talking to me.
- 27:21Speaker 5: But whenever Jill goes to the bathroom, there's always one
- 27:24Speaker 5: of those three p's, like just a little hint of it.
- 27:28Speaker 1: Maybe sometimes there's a hint of two of them, and
- 27:30Speaker 1: God forbid three. So, uh, I'm working on my she
- 27:34Speaker 1: calls it house hygiene. She said, I have great hygiene
- 27:39Speaker 1: body hygiene, but I need to work on my house hygiene.
- 27:43Speaker 1: And so we're working on getting the three p's taken
- 27:46Speaker 1: care of.
- 27:46Speaker 2: Okay, I have questions. I don't know if you guys
- 27:50Speaker 2: have questions. Yeah, please go ahead poop, pee and pubes.
- 27:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 27:55Speaker 2: Yeah, So you're telling me that wifey whenever she's going
- 27:59Speaker 2: to the baths that you guys use together.
- 28:01Speaker 1: Yeah, or the guest room or the guest room bathroom.
- 28:05Speaker 2: There's always one of those three little hint that is
- 28:09Speaker 2: still around the toilet. Yes, sir, I can wrap my
- 28:14Speaker 2: head around pubes out of the three like a couple
- 28:18Speaker 2: of strays. You're trimming up, you're grooming. Yeah, you're trying
- 28:22Speaker 2: to make it nicy for wifey.
- 28:24Speaker 1: Yeah. Poop and pee.
- 28:28Speaker 5: Yeah, you get a streak here, you get a holding
- 28:31Speaker 5: scarlet while peeing there, and you chalk it up.
- 28:35Speaker 1: I need to tighten the screws. I need to tighten
- 28:38Speaker 1: the screws.
- 28:39Speaker 2: You don't sound like a cat like me. Whenever I
- 28:41Speaker 2: get done going to the bathroom, I'm always somebody who
- 28:43Speaker 2: just checks.
- 28:45Speaker 1: I check the rim yep. If I have a blowout,
- 28:49Speaker 1: God forbid, God forbid I have a blowout.
- 28:51Speaker 2: Yeah, the back of the bowl up underneath the seat,
- 28:55Speaker 2: I always lift and kind of see what's going on.
- 28:58Speaker 1: Because I'm personally like i'd be side with Jill on
- 29:02Speaker 1: this one. Oh, certainly this.
- 29:05Speaker 5: You remember that note that you gave on my first
- 29:09Speaker 5: news of the moving and you're like, you look this way,
- 29:12Speaker 5: but you sound this way. Remind me look this way
- 29:16Speaker 5: but sound this When I when I was jokingly excited
- 29:19Speaker 5: about moving. Oh yeah, okay, just a few minutes ago,
- 29:22Speaker 5: just a few minutes. Ok, this one's actually a good note.
- 29:25Speaker 5: This one's actually a good note that I should work on.
- 29:28Speaker 1: Oh, on the APR. This is feedback you've gotten and
- 29:31Speaker 1: you're like, yeah.
- 29:32Speaker 5: You know what you're write And in the note I
- 29:35Speaker 5: told myself and maybe this could help a.
- 29:37Speaker 1: Dad out there.
- 29:38Speaker 5: Is when I'm at work or I am at someone's house,
- 29:44Speaker 5: someone else's house, and I go to the bathroom, I
- 29:47Speaker 5: do have like a very O C D nature about
- 29:51Speaker 5: myself of I do not want to be because I
- 29:54Speaker 5: also have the reputation around here of oh, Sherman blows
- 29:57Speaker 5: it up.
- 29:58Speaker 1: Sherman blows it up.
- 30:00Speaker 2: When Decat went yesterday and he had to go, all
- 30:03Speaker 2: he was trying to do is find the plunger. But
- 30:05Speaker 2: in that time of finding the plunger, somebody came in.
- 30:07Speaker 2: There was like, oh, who didn't flush the toilet?
- 30:09Speaker 1: The fuck? But everybody's immediate that reaction was who do
- 30:13Speaker 1: you think it was? I bet it was sureman. Oh,
- 30:15Speaker 1: And they would have yeah, like, yeah, there's no notes there.
- 30:20Speaker 1: Now Do I leave my stuff around, absolutely not. Do
- 30:24Speaker 1: I blow it up? For sure?
- 30:26Speaker 5: But now I need to get in the mental mind
- 30:28Speaker 5: space of hey, when I'm pooping and pen at my house,
- 30:32Speaker 5: I'm actually at somebody else's house.
- 30:35Speaker 2: Yeah, because if there was poop peer pubes in the
- 30:39Speaker 2: guest bathroom and I knew you just used it.
- 30:42Speaker 1: You'd think I'm a psychopath. I would never get an invite. No, no, no,
- 30:46Speaker 1: you'd get invited back. But there'd be a nice we'd
- 30:49Speaker 1: have a nice laugh, maybe a tweet, yeah, yeah, maybe
- 30:55Speaker 1: a walk and talk and walking talking, laugh a little bit. Opah, Sherman,
- 31:01Speaker 1: Come here for sure you just use the toilet? Yeah,
- 31:04Speaker 1: I thought so. Hey, let's go take a walk. As
- 31:06Speaker 1: you're flipping the steaks from the ground. Hey, sure, did
- 31:10Speaker 1: you use the guests room forty five minutes ago? Yeah? Yeah, yeah,
- 31:16Speaker 1: I thought so. Put your hand over this grill. Yeah
- 31:19Speaker 1: you like that? You felt hot? That is imagine your
- 31:22Speaker 1: face on it, Sherman.
- 31:24Speaker 5: Do you know how to test the uh internal temperature
- 31:27Speaker 5: of a steak without even touching it? Give me your hand,
- 31:31Speaker 5: put your pointer finger in your thumb together, feel that
- 31:34Speaker 5: squeeze that it's medium rare.
- 31:37Speaker 1: Nice dad, hack right there, nice grill hack. You get
- 31:39Speaker 1: all the way to the pinky.
- 31:41Speaker 2: Yeah, that's well done. Tell the dads. Tell any new
- 31:44Speaker 2: young dads out there that might not be savvy on
- 31:46Speaker 2: the grill. What you're talking about.
- 31:47Speaker 1: Uh, I believe medium will work on. Yeah, I gotta
- 31:54Speaker 1: work through it too. I don't think it's rare medium, rare, medium,
- 31:58Speaker 1: well done.
- 31:58Speaker 7: Pointer finger rare, Yeah, this is this is rare. Second
- 32:02Speaker 7: finger middle medium, rare.
- 32:04Speaker 1: Medium, rare medium medium, well well, another good thing for
- 32:07Speaker 1: medium rare.
- 32:07Speaker 7: When the juices start to come out of this steak,
- 32:10Speaker 7: that's a good, very very good tailtale sign that you
- 32:13Speaker 7: have a medium rare steak.
- 32:14Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, great, call the chef. His name is, his
- 32:18Speaker 2: nickname isn't chef for no reason.
- 32:19Speaker 1: It's a literally chef. But that right there, rare.
- 32:23Speaker 2: Yep index finger, middle finger medium rare medium, rare medium, medium,
- 32:29Speaker 2: pinky is well done. So you're grabbing and you feel
- 32:32Speaker 2: the toughness on on this little pad right here on
- 32:35Speaker 2: your thumb.
- 32:35Speaker 1: That's what you should be feeling if you grab the steak.
- 32:38Speaker 7: And then if it's a fl ay, you need to
- 32:41Speaker 7: be it's gonna be a little more tender. You need
- 32:42Speaker 7: to be a little more careful on using the touch.
- 32:44Speaker 7: I would give much more in a look for the
- 32:46Speaker 7: juices to rise. Yeah, just a small thing.
- 32:49Speaker 2: But if you don't have that foundational education, you shouldn't
- 32:52Speaker 2: be getting around to fill a You're going to full
- 32:55Speaker 2: a you know, a thing or two about some steaks.
- 32:57Speaker 1: And as you have me leaned over the grill, you
- 32:59Speaker 1: get to a well done you go, And that's what
- 33:02Speaker 1: you're gonna be. If my fucking guest bath ever has
- 33:07Speaker 1: another pew on it again, you put a little shit stain,
- 33:13Speaker 1: you're gonna be well done. Good APR good, A good,
- 33:17Speaker 1: good feedback from my wife.
- 33:18Speaker 2: I'm glad you communicated that with is communications key Will
- 33:22Speaker 2: So I had a couple APR dad brain moments last
- 33:27Speaker 2: week pretty much immediately within the hour of the episode releasing, oh,
- 33:31Speaker 2: not an hour, within the first two hours of the
- 33:34Speaker 2: episode releasing last week. Yeah, I got a I got
- 33:37Speaker 2: a phone call. It wasn't just feedback through a text.
- 33:40Speaker 2: It was a phone call.
- 33:41Speaker 1: Yeah. And the first question was because.
- 33:43Speaker 2: What we do last week we celebrated Scottie turning six
- 33:46Speaker 2: months old. I forget if I said the day you're listening,
- 33:50Speaker 2: or if itels the day we're recording the tenth or eleventh.
- 33:53Speaker 1: It was six months, right, six months? Okay, I'm just
- 33:56Speaker 1: helping you. I thought it was not.
- 33:58Speaker 2: Wife calls me in first thing he said, I'm like, hey, sweetheart,
- 34:01Speaker 2: She goes, do you know your daughter's birthday?
- 34:03Speaker 1: Oh? And I was like, which daughter? But yeah, I
- 34:13Speaker 1: was like, uh, oh shit, I got that wrong, didn't I.
- 34:16Speaker 1: She's like, how do you not know? You? Like, you
- 34:18Speaker 1: only have two kids and they're young. It's early.
- 34:21Speaker 2: It's not like they're grown up, and you kind of
- 34:23Speaker 2: forget when their birthday could be. How do you forget
- 34:26Speaker 2: when Scotty's birthday is? Oh, sweetheart, it ain't even like that,
- 34:29Speaker 2: Like in my brain, it's like a waterfall system. Rue
- 34:33Speaker 2: is April third, twenty twenty two, so four three two,
- 34:37Speaker 2: And then with Scotty, I go eleven. I think it's
- 34:39Speaker 2: eleven ten, but I need to flip it. Rue is descending,
- 34:43Speaker 2: Scotty is uscending. So Scotty turned six months on November
- 34:49Speaker 2: twelve or March twelfth, great, not March tenth or I
- 34:54Speaker 2: forget it? Look, dad, brain, I forget what I even want?
- 34:56Speaker 1: Hold on hold on the twelfth. Okay, the twelfth day
- 34:58Speaker 1: Instagram November is her birthday is her day of birth.
- 35:02Speaker 1: March March twelfth is when she turned sixteen months old.
- 35:07Speaker 1: Sixteen months. I just confused everybody because I think I
- 35:10Speaker 1: said six, and I was like, she's just really good
- 35:11Speaker 1: at dinner for a six month old.
- 35:13Speaker 6: And I just was that's why I asked you six,
- 35:15Speaker 6: and you look back at me and said you get six.
- 35:18Speaker 1: Dad, brain, that brain, that birth six APR report.
- 35:21Speaker 5: I gotta be completely honest, after everything you just went over,
- 35:28Speaker 5: I do not know, after everything that you just said,
- 35:30Speaker 5: what your daughter's birthday is or how old she is.
- 35:35Speaker 2: Scottie is sixteen months old. She turned sixteen months old
- 35:38Speaker 2: on March twelfth, Okay, her birthday, her day of birth
- 35:43Speaker 2: when she came into this world and dead and Mama
- 35:46Speaker 2: were smiling at her. That was on November twelfth. Okay,
- 35:52Speaker 2: So I gott the I got the day off. APR
- 35:56Speaker 2: number two. This is an interesting one because we open
- 35:59Speaker 2: up every episode. I hope your trash is taken out.
- 36:01Speaker 2: Big trash day guy. We are in a new house,
- 36:03Speaker 2: so we're in a new area, We're in a new environment.
- 36:06Speaker 1: Oh, I forgot about this.
- 36:07Speaker 2: I missed trash a couple of week are a few
- 36:09Speaker 2: weeks ago listening now, and I know this mailman is
- 36:12Speaker 2: out there listening.
- 36:12Speaker 1: He's a pet sico.
- 36:16Speaker 2: But you know how a few weeks ago I stood
- 36:19Speaker 2: in solidarity with a gentleman who called in and said,
- 36:22Speaker 2: I forgot to take out the trash. Like, fuck me. Yeah,
- 36:26Speaker 2: So I stood in soolidating with him. Like the next
- 36:28Speaker 2: time I had to take out trash, I stood in solidary.
- 36:30Speaker 2: I forgot to take out the trash, but I stood
- 36:32Speaker 2: in solid area.
- 36:32Speaker 5: Yeah, shortest voice failing before the that's history.
- 36:36Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. Yeah.
- 36:37Speaker 2: So the next week I take out the trash. Remember
- 36:41Speaker 2: I did a little walk and talk videos. I'm walking
- 36:43Speaker 2: down to the driveway. It was kind of night time
- 36:44Speaker 2: out walk, the trash bens out, trash is taken out. Yeah,
- 36:49Speaker 2: so that trash day happens. The next week, my wife
- 36:54Speaker 2: takes out the trash. This is we are now at
- 36:56Speaker 2: last week when I'm getting this APR report. Yeah, because
- 37:00Speaker 2: trash Day for us is on Wednesdays. Episode drops on Wednesdays.
- 37:04Speaker 2: Mailman comes on Wednesday. Mailman comes every day, but he comes.
- 37:09Speaker 2: He comes on Wednesdays. He comes up to the door.
- 37:15Speaker 5: Yeah, because your mailbox isn't at your door, wells down
- 37:20Speaker 5: at the bottom of the driveway.
- 37:22Speaker 1: He comes up to the door.
- 37:24Speaker 2: And I could butcher the details here, but essentially knocks
- 37:29Speaker 2: charro answers and he delivers our mails, so he know
- 37:32Speaker 2: when he sees he sees old Willie one chelf on there. Yeah,
- 37:35Speaker 2: he's a PT sixer, he's a PT sicko. And he goes,
- 37:40Speaker 2: I can tell your husband. I can tell your husband
- 37:43Speaker 2: is having trouble setting up the trash outside. And he goes, basically,
- 37:52Speaker 2: you know how I knew that.
- 37:53Speaker 1: You did it today? Oh my god, because I didn't
- 37:56Speaker 1: do it last week either. My wife did it because
- 38:04Speaker 1: you texted me someth about the trash, something like that's
- 38:05Speaker 1: why we're a tea baby.
- 38:11Speaker 2: And he goes, because I knew it was your husband
- 38:16Speaker 2: because when he put out the trash bins, he had
- 38:18Speaker 2: them both right next to each other, touching, which is
- 38:21Speaker 2: a no note if you wanted him to be able
- 38:23Speaker 2: to lift the bins up and put him in the
- 38:24Speaker 2: trash note, Yep, it's a good note. Need to separate
- 38:27Speaker 2: him for you know, a few inches whatever it is.
- 38:29Speaker 2: And this is the mailman. This is not the trash
- 38:31Speaker 2: man giving game right, correct.
- 38:33Speaker 1: This is the mailman.
- 38:34Speaker 2: And he put the trash cans in front of the mailbox,
- 38:40Speaker 2: so technically he might not be allowed to put the
- 38:42Speaker 2: mail into where he's got to come up to the door.
- 38:45Speaker 2: He's like, but just wanted to give that note. I
- 38:46Speaker 2: knew it was you today because everything was placed perfectly
- 38:49Speaker 2: at the end of the driveway. So I have some
- 38:52Speaker 2: work to do. Shout out the mailman that runs through
- 38:57Speaker 2: our area. He's a pt sick.
- 38:58Speaker 1: Oh, yes he is. He's looking out for his boy.
- 39:01Speaker 1: Does he have a first name? Do we want to
- 39:02Speaker 1: shout out? I don't know his first name? Oh, okay,
- 39:05Speaker 1: well I don't know. I don't know if he gave
- 39:06Speaker 1: it to Jarrow, we'll get on that, ba.
- 39:07Speaker 2: If he gave it to jar and Shrot didn't tell
- 39:09Speaker 2: me his first name, maybe I need to keep an
- 39:10Speaker 2: eye on the mail man at home.
- 39:11Speaker 1: My dream, when you initially told the very brief story
- 39:16Speaker 1: because you didn't want to spoil it for the pod,
- 39:19Speaker 1: my dream is that your mailman is a guest on
- 39:23Speaker 1: for the dads eventually one day, Buddy, I've been having
- 39:28Speaker 1: these thoughts on guests because I know people love when
- 39:31Speaker 1: we have guests. What we've only had Taylor on, but
- 39:33Speaker 1: I know people would love to hear from other guests.
- 39:35Speaker 1: We do want to do that.
- 39:36Speaker 2: We thought it was very We love the whole, the community,
- 39:40Speaker 2: the language, everything.
- 39:41Speaker 1: That we're doing on for the day.
- 39:42Speaker 2: It's a lot of fun. We've also been in talks
- 39:45Speaker 2: for months now about having a guest list. Yeah, we
- 39:48Speaker 2: don't want it to go consecutive guests rolling out week
- 39:50Speaker 2: after week after week to where it becomes a guest
- 39:53Speaker 2: centric show. But when we do have guests on, like,
- 39:56Speaker 2: who are the guests going to be? We want uh
- 39:59Speaker 2: Chicago Ups, Anthony riz we want, we want Dan Gable.
- 40:05Speaker 2: We love with Greg Olsen, greg Olsen, sal for Sella.
- 40:09Speaker 1: Yeah, he was the first friend there.
- 40:12Speaker 2: Matt Staff, Matt Staff for Luke Comb's like these are
- 40:15Speaker 2: Bob Odenkirk, Yeah, these are bigger, Yes, Bro, he would
- 40:20Speaker 2: be phenomenal. Would love that any dad that I've seen
- 40:24Speaker 2: doing podcasts to where it's like a dad clip for content.
- 40:28Speaker 2: I want the I love people who want to just
- 40:30Speaker 2: talk that life.
- 40:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 40:32Speaker 2: However, another part of me was like the male man,
- 40:37Speaker 2: there's a there's a there's a there's a PT sixer. Yeah,
- 40:41Speaker 2: that operates the this flower farm we went to over
- 40:45Speaker 2: the weekend, And you can pull up the Instagram so
- 40:48Speaker 2: that way the photo the screenshot can be on the
- 40:51Speaker 2: screen cover shot coming to mind farmer Sean.
- 40:53Speaker 1: Yeah, but just salt of the earth. Dad could not
- 41:00Speaker 1: agree more. I want I want some dads on here. Yeah,
- 41:03Speaker 1: some dads. I don't want this.
- 41:05Speaker 2: A dad show doesn't have to be some name of
- 41:07Speaker 2: some status. No, and a siko that's out there that
- 41:11Speaker 2: we sit there and communicate with all the time, that
- 41:13Speaker 2: writes in, that does all these things.
- 41:14Speaker 5: Like we'd love to have just dads, yes on the pod.
- 41:18Speaker 5: No one you just named fits this category. I just
- 41:21Speaker 5: want to throw that out there. But like we're we
- 41:25Speaker 5: don't want like pretty perfect picture of dad for every
- 41:30Speaker 5: single guess.
- 41:32Speaker 1: We want some dads. Yeah, I want a guy in
- 41:35Speaker 1: the trenches. It's got a little blood and a little
- 41:38Speaker 1: dirt on his face because he's he's got four under
- 41:41Speaker 1: four at.
- 41:41Speaker 2: Home, and he's just got some good stories. Like, we're
- 41:44Speaker 2: not out here chasing numbers. We do encourage everybody to subscribe.
- 41:48Speaker 2: If you have a subscribe, please make sure you subscribe
- 41:50Speaker 2: following all of our audience channels. But it's not like
- 41:52Speaker 2: when we look at guests, we don't want to just
- 41:54Speaker 2: chase what numbers could be. Yeah, we just want some
- 41:57Speaker 2: good old fashioned dad combos where Dad's can men have
- 42:00Speaker 2: an ollipop with us?
- 42:02Speaker 1: Here? Man?
- 42:02Speaker 2: They're co hosting the show with us. They're not We're
- 42:05Speaker 2: not sitting here and they're sitting on the other side
- 42:06Speaker 2: and we're interviewing them. It's like Taylor Reiner where he
- 42:09Speaker 2: was a co host, a guest host for the Dads.
- 42:12Speaker 1: Yeah. I think that would be awesome.
- 42:14Speaker 5: I want some guys that they deep grunt when they
- 42:17Speaker 5: get up out of a chair. Yeah, any question you
- 42:21Speaker 5: asked them, no matter how easy to answer, there's always
- 42:25Speaker 5: a ball cap off and scratch ahead and go as shit.
- 42:28Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, you know what, Let me call my
- 42:30Speaker 1: wife and make sure this story's right. Yeah, let me, Hey,
- 42:32Speaker 1: what'd you do this weekend? Whatever? Like whatever, whatever my
- 42:39Speaker 1: wife told me to you, I just shut my mouth. Yeah,
- 42:42Speaker 1: I go where she wants to.
- 42:43Speaker 5: Also, I just I just unlocked a memory from yesterday
- 42:47Speaker 5: because I tried to block it out.
- 42:49Speaker 1: We're talking about APR.
- 42:51Speaker 5: Got a nice little phone call from my wife that
- 42:55Speaker 5: I love I love you Jilly Bean around five point
- 43:00Speaker 5: fifteen or no, no, it was five twenty six. It
- 43:03Speaker 5: was five twenty six, and she said, are you still
- 43:08Speaker 5: at the office.
- 43:09Speaker 1: I say, I sure am. We had a late recording.
- 43:11Speaker 5: She said, who's picking up Scarlet? I said, that is
- 43:18Speaker 5: a great note, honey, I'll go do that. I'll go
- 43:23Speaker 5: pick up our daughter. Great question. Great question, because oh yeah, Monday, Wednesday,
- 43:28Speaker 5: Friday is my days. I go pick up our daughter.
- 43:31Speaker 5: And if I don't do it before six o'clock, we
- 43:33Speaker 5: get hit with the fee. That was a great note
- 43:36Speaker 5: by my wife forgot, forgot to go pick up Scarlett.
- 43:39Speaker 5: I did get there before six though, five p fifty eight.
- 43:42Speaker 5: If not, you get a fee.
- 43:43Speaker 2: Just you just tell them charge it to the four
- 43:46Speaker 2: of the day.
- 43:46Speaker 1: On the dead. Put it on the dead.
- 43:51Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, and yes also future future note. I was
- 43:56Speaker 5: not being held at gunpoint here at the office was
- 44:00Speaker 5: more so we just had a late recording day and
- 44:02Speaker 5: I like, literally for guy.
- 44:06Speaker 1: And that happens to me because we were doing George Kittle.
- 44:10Speaker 1: Yes it was George Kittle, and it's like, this is
- 44:12Speaker 1: a huge pod. This is fine. It ran late because
- 44:15Speaker 1: of RAM late, Like it wasn't like right right when
- 44:19Speaker 1: Luke comes was on. I had to get that on.
- 44:21Speaker 2: I was like, hey, I hate to do this, I
- 44:23Speaker 2: have to leave. So I got to get home by
- 44:25Speaker 2: a certain time and I was running late and I'm
- 44:26Speaker 2: sitting there texting. That's when I was vin mowing my
- 44:29Speaker 2: name just Venmotor one hundred dollars. Yeah, I'm sorry.
- 44:33Speaker 5: But on the death Yeah, and uh yeah, that was
- 44:37Speaker 5: a bone chilling phone call. Jill actually went very easy
- 44:40Speaker 5: on me. But at the hospital she cannot leave like that.
- 44:46Speaker 5: There's actual like rules and parameters around that living during
- 44:49Speaker 5: a shift, so it's literally up to me.
- 44:53Speaker 1: And uh, that's how we wanted though, Papa team, That's
- 44:56Speaker 1: how we won it. Good.
- 44:57Speaker 5: Yes, but that phone call was so funny. Dude, just
- 45:00Speaker 5: who's picking up our daughter?
- 45:02Speaker 1: Good question? Crazy? I think it's been today? It is
- 45:05Speaker 1: you today? Good? I forgot and even better APR.
- 45:09Speaker 5: We had a fantastic episode last week where we talked
- 45:12Speaker 5: about steak and blow job Day multiple times. Found out
- 45:17Speaker 5: from our lovely women at daycare and shout out Miss
- 45:20Speaker 5: Angela and Miss Crystal because they're great. Miss Crystal found
- 45:23Speaker 5: our podcast last week when she was she was on Spotify.
- 45:29Speaker 2: About the first the first episode she consumed before the
- 45:32Speaker 2: Dads your Daycare. Yeah, Lena found for the Dads last
- 45:37Speaker 2: week when we were promoing Yeah March fourteenth.
- 45:40Speaker 1: Yeah, nice, it's a great combo with her.
- 45:45Speaker 5: It's fantastic. I said, how did you I'm legitimately kind
- 45:49Speaker 5: of curious. How did you come across it on Spotify?
- 45:52Speaker 5: And she was like, it was on my suggestion and
- 45:55Speaker 5: there was a picture of you, And I was like,
- 45:57Speaker 5: what in the world And y'all think, I know that
- 46:00Speaker 5: y'all just released this episode?
- 46:02Speaker 1: What you think? Oh? When was it? When was that?
- 46:10Speaker 8: Oh?
- 46:10Speaker 1: On Thursday? Oh good?
- 46:14Speaker 2: Yeah, so was the last week's episode or a different
- 46:18Speaker 2: one got suggested?
- 46:20Speaker 1: Oh good? Yeah, y'all were like super excited about soth
- 46:25Speaker 1: y'all are y'all are like it seemed funny, like it
- 46:28Speaker 1: seemed cool. I was like, yeah, good is.
- 46:34Speaker 5: Yeah, grab Scarlett as fast as I could and was
- 46:37Speaker 5: out of there.
- 46:38Speaker 2: That's a tough spot to be in, Yeah, especially any
- 46:41Speaker 2: new listener that came in last week. Yeah, interesting one
- 46:45Speaker 2: to come fun. I hope you all laughed and had
- 46:47Speaker 2: a great time.
- 46:48Speaker 5: How did do we want to recap? Really quick before
- 46:50Speaker 5: we get into all this stuff? Do you want to
- 46:52Speaker 5: touch on your March fourteenth? Because I saw the stakes
- 46:55Speaker 5: that you cooked. I'm saying plural. You cooked enough to
- 46:58Speaker 5: feed an army. You had an army at your house. Yeah,
- 47:03Speaker 5: so you came through with the steaks. How Sake Day
- 47:06Speaker 5: was a plus. Stake Day was a plus. Steak Day, Yeah, buddy,
- 47:15Speaker 5: I'm not even gonna sit here and act and pretend
- 47:17Speaker 5: Steak Day was good for me too.
- 47:21Speaker 1: Steak Day was good for me too. I thought it
- 47:25Speaker 1: was a joke. I mean, it is a joke, but
- 47:31Speaker 1: but I don't know.
- 47:33Speaker 5: I just cook up the steak and then, you know,
- 47:35Speaker 5: we're watching the movie, and then the movie ends, and
- 47:38Speaker 5: then the lights are off and I'm sitting there like, Okay.
- 47:41Speaker 1: She's really milking it now, she's really Did you have
- 47:46Speaker 1: a great day today? Yeah?
- 47:49Speaker 9: I did.
- 47:50Speaker 1: It feels incomplete. I did have a good days about
- 47:55Speaker 1: to get better. I don't know. We're about to go
- 47:59Speaker 1: to bed, Yeah we are. Let's just say fluff the
- 48:10Speaker 1: sheet just a little bit. Let's just say it ended, and.
- 48:20Speaker 2: I had my mouth tape on and I was just
- 48:21Speaker 2: facing I was facing Waffle, Waffle the bulldog just in
- 48:27Speaker 2: the corner.
- 48:34Speaker 1: We tried. Hey, we had fun. We did our best
- 48:37Speaker 1: and we had fun. You guys got people. That's what
- 48:41Speaker 1: I'm saying today. I you know, I still think we
- 48:44Speaker 1: impact it.
- 48:45Speaker 6: End a lot of people's lives that day that we
- 48:47Speaker 6: got emails and comments about good you did the lord's work.
- 48:50Speaker 1: We impacted others.
- 48:52Speaker 5: I'm being so serious because like this is a joke,
- 48:54Speaker 5: but that did. Thank you for that silver lining, because
- 48:57Speaker 5: if anybody did get their pipe smoked.
- 49:01Speaker 1: Vi FTD, hell yeah, hell yeah. I wanted to do
- 49:10Speaker 1: like videos on it.
- 49:11Speaker 2: I was like prepping my steak and I want to
- 49:13Speaker 2: do a video of how to prep the meat.
- 49:15Speaker 1: Poor joking joke. Your post barrinated, well did.
- 49:21Speaker 6: I don't know the name, and this is not a bit,
- 49:23Speaker 6: but while going through the four the D's phone, your
- 49:25Speaker 6: post did get reposted and shared to the story of
- 49:28Speaker 6: a female movie star of that category. Then champion it.
- 49:32Speaker 6: I'll see if I can find it. I did not
- 49:34Speaker 6: recognize the name off first gas, but there was a
- 49:37Speaker 6: story attachment of your post into a a porn stars.
- 49:41Speaker 1: Instagram storl who was saying, well, I guess it is official.
- 49:46Speaker 6: I was thinking, like, Hollywood movie star, that's a different
- 49:50Speaker 6: part of Hollywood.
- 49:50Speaker 1: It's like a different angle. Yeah, they make shows. I'm
- 49:57Speaker 1: legitimately just gonna be like, we gotta find out. Oh yeah,
- 50:02Speaker 1: maybe it's like anathany Armis or something.
- 50:04Speaker 10: Fausday's funneled. Boys, am I see you, Ego, Tobby.
- 50:18Speaker 2: I did see that the post had way more shares
- 50:22Speaker 2: than it did likes. Just the secret work.
- 50:26Speaker 1: Was being done. Some absolute goom Beret demon the goom
- 50:34Speaker 1: Berets and seeming Team six's were on net. They're like, finally,
- 50:37Speaker 1: these guys just sit there and grind. They're like, oh,
- 50:40Speaker 1: I love my gid, my gid, oh my god.
- 50:44Speaker 6: Just for reference, the post has uh, I mean, it
- 50:47Speaker 6: did well and has one hundred and sixty three k views, okay,
- 50:50Speaker 6: four thousand likes, thirty one comments, forty three reposts, twelve
- 50:53Speaker 6: thousand cents.
- 50:54Speaker 1: Oh good, oh good. We made an impact. So that's
- 50:59Speaker 1: how my March fourteenth.
- 51:00Speaker 5: We have daughters, we have wives, and we think women
- 51:05Speaker 5: are absolutely incredible.
- 51:08Speaker 1: We do, and we celebrate them. We do celebrate them.
- 51:10Speaker 1: And to the twelve twelve point twelve point six, I
- 51:16Speaker 1: tell you this, we ain't running on April fourteenth. Yeah,
- 51:23Speaker 1: we're holding the line, buddy. If you think PT six
- 51:32Speaker 1: is going to retreat on April April fourteenth.
- 51:36Speaker 2: If it did, if it didn't happen for you, April
- 51:39Speaker 2: fourteenth is a time to show the example of what
- 51:42Speaker 2: the celebration looks like.
- 51:43Speaker 1: Yeah, show them what March fourteenth is all about, and
- 51:49Speaker 1: hopefully the you know, most of our house will be
- 51:52Speaker 1: boxed up by then. That'll be perfect. Yeah.
- 51:54Speaker 2: I hope you're no, no, no, no. I hope you
- 51:57Speaker 2: extend your lease and Jill is pushing third trimester, and
- 52:03Speaker 2: then that's when you decide to move. Okay, first, I
- 52:06Speaker 2: think that's optimal. Yeah, that's optimal moving when your wife
- 52:09Speaker 2: is going on a third trimester.
- 52:10Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, So we'll just be celebrating the news
- 52:13Speaker 1: of I hope.
- 52:14Speaker 2: That you're closing date and do date are the exact
- 52:16Speaker 2: same day? Oh, that would be good. Yeah, that would
- 52:19Speaker 2: be good.
- 52:21Speaker 1: Yeah. We gotta find a way to time that out.
- 52:23Speaker 1: Go month to month? Should we shout out some comments?
- 52:26Speaker 1: Got a lot of comments? We gotta get through. We
- 52:29Speaker 1: have a lot we get to do. Not get through
- 52:31Speaker 1: that we get to do. And fucking talking about do
- 52:34Speaker 1: we want to hit our recap ones first recap comments?
- 52:38Speaker 1: We should have probably hit those at the top.
- 52:42Speaker 2: Will's apr Scotty's birthday is not eleven eleven all right?
- 52:46Speaker 2: Josh Nelson on Spotify submitted steak and bjday. This is
- 52:51Speaker 2: Josh Nelson on Spotify submitted Steak and BJDA to the
- 52:55Speaker 2: joint calendar. Wife conducted a tactical edit to Peanut Noodles
- 53:00Speaker 2: and Pa Noodles and pussy.
- 53:07Speaker 1: There you go, not the mission we planned, but the
- 53:09Speaker 1: mission we got. Kay, Hey, there we go. There we go.
- 53:12Speaker 1: A little shock wave. Never hurt you never Uh.
- 53:16Speaker 5: I've Jonah Kerns, who's riding in uh from our wonderful
- 53:21Speaker 5: empty Siko and I forget her name, Caitlin a bear.
- 53:26Speaker 1: See that's why we put it on the shelf. Let's go.
- 53:30Speaker 1: Caitlin rode in and said, you want to have a boy?
- 53:33Speaker 1: No eye contact? Okay? Jonah? How to follow up on that?
- 53:38Speaker 5: Jonah Kerns on Spotify said, I think when she says
- 53:41Speaker 5: don't look me in the eyes, she means a certain
- 53:43Speaker 5: position named after a can nine. Yeah yeah from Jonah
- 53:49Speaker 5: good note new dads, New dads.
- 53:54Speaker 1: Go on here.
- 53:55Speaker 2: From Lyle Styler on Spotify, what's up? Boy's wife He
- 53:59Speaker 2: has been in due for the past twenty four hours.
- 54:01Speaker 2: Hopefully we meet our little girl soon to.
- 54:03Speaker 1: Pray for us.
- 54:04Speaker 2: Also, the pull out recliner bed has a bar in
- 54:07Speaker 2: the middle of my back. Oh good glove, y'all boys, Lyle, congratulations.
- 54:15Speaker 2: I hope everything went well. I hope mom and baby
- 54:17Speaker 2: are healthy. I love that you went through I love
- 54:20Speaker 2: that you went through the suck with the recliner.
- 54:22Speaker 1: And I got to hear that first and last game
- 54:23Speaker 1: because it was superb. Lyle Styler Lyle. It's either Lyle
- 54:28Speaker 1: Styler or Lyle's Tyler. Oh, I see mess, there's no space.
- 54:33Speaker 1: Oh okay, you just taking a guest.
- 54:35Speaker 7: No.
- 54:35Speaker 1: I just thought the last name Styler was so sick.
- 54:38Speaker 1: If it if it's maybe it's Tyler. So now it
- 54:40Speaker 1: seems like he's gonna be fuck. What do you do? Also,
- 54:46Speaker 1: dad pad? Did you see the dad pad? It's getting
- 54:49Speaker 1: kicked around the dad pad.
- 54:51Speaker 5: It's just like travel mattress built specifically to the measurement
- 54:58Speaker 5: of a hospital pullout couch.
- 55:00Speaker 1: No shit, Yeah dude, why didn't we think of that?
- 55:03Speaker 1: I know, because we're idiots. Well here's the good we are.
- 55:07Speaker 1: Here's this.
- 55:08Speaker 5: Hey, we are dumb. We are dumb, but we're smart
- 55:13Speaker 5: enough to see that product. And Jeremy Glump said, maybe
- 55:18Speaker 5: a collab.
- 55:19Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I have this room.
- 55:24Speaker 5: Jordan Minkoff on Spotify This is New Dad's Boys been
- 55:30Speaker 5: listening to for the dads since my wife and I
- 55:33Speaker 5: found out she was pregnant with our.
- 55:35Speaker 1: Baby boy last July. Oh, let's go.
- 55:39Speaker 5: Jordan's listening to the new episode in the hospital as
- 55:42Speaker 5: we just welcome in our little guy yesterday and have
- 55:45Speaker 5: officially joined PT.
- 55:47Speaker 1: Six.
- 55:48Speaker 5: I also have an elite dad hack from our stay
- 55:52Speaker 5: I ordered.
- 55:53Speaker 1: I ordered a product called the dad Pad. I really
- 55:57Speaker 1: did not mean to do that.
- 55:58Speaker 5: I only read the first portion of you in super
- 56:00Speaker 5: I swear to God, I only read your transition that
- 56:03Speaker 5: was that's unreal, great transition like we like we said natural.
- 56:06Speaker 1: We're idiots, so we're still before fall. For me, that's
- 56:10Speaker 1: fear luck.
- 56:12Speaker 5: The Dad Bad, which is a sleeping bad, got to
- 56:14Speaker 5: fit hospital couches two nights in and my new dad
- 56:19Speaker 5: back is feeling good, excited to take everything I've learned
- 56:23Speaker 5: from this pod into dad life.
- 56:25Speaker 1: Let's go, Jordan.
- 56:26Speaker 2: Jordan, congratulations. Rue is turning four next month and I
- 56:31Speaker 2: said it on the recent episodes. I'm gonna say it
- 56:33Speaker 2: every week until she turns four, and I'm say it.
- 56:36Speaker 1: It makes me sad do it. But here's what I
- 56:40Speaker 1: want to tell Jordan. The new Dad's Lyle or Lyle's
- 56:44Speaker 1: enjoy every moment. Yeah, dude, it's going to be hard,
- 56:50Speaker 1: it's going.
- 56:51Speaker 2: To suck a lot, yep, but it is the greatest
- 56:55Speaker 2: responsibility you can ever have in your life. And enjoy
- 56:59Speaker 2: every moment. And I'll break more of this down when
- 57:02Speaker 2: Rude does turn four, because I just I like to
- 57:05Speaker 2: reflect on I like to reflect on all that stuff.
- 57:07Speaker 1: Yeah, but they're here for us in this early phase, man,
- 57:14Speaker 1: They're here for us to enjoy, to lay a foundation
- 57:17Speaker 1: to five through eight, then nine through fifteen, and so
- 57:21Speaker 1: on and so on.
- 57:22Speaker 2: And there's a new iteration. We read that little lesson
- 57:25Speaker 2: last week, there's a new iteration of your child when
- 57:29Speaker 2: it's that young every day. Then it's week to week.
- 57:32Speaker 2: It's a new kid a month to month. Don't think
- 57:35Speaker 2: of it in terms of years, especially before in those
- 57:38Speaker 2: first two years. Man, every month there's a different version
- 57:41Speaker 2: of your kid. Every month. You have four weekends. Four
- 57:45Speaker 2: weekends to make the most of in the first two years,
- 57:50Speaker 2: two summers, two falls, two winters, two of each holiday. Dude,
- 57:55Speaker 2: enjoy everything that you can as much as you can.
- 58:01Speaker 1: Man. Take a lot of photos and videos, yes, because
- 58:04Speaker 1: time flies. Lyles styles a little spoiler for any non
- 58:09Speaker 1: parents out there. Spoiler spoiler at the.
- 58:12Speaker 5: Eight month mark, dude, I went back and looked at
- 58:14Speaker 5: like first week videos and all that stuff, and I cried,
- 58:17Speaker 5: you're just gonna get your lyles.
- 58:19Speaker 1: You're gonna do it. You're gonna cry.
- 58:20Speaker 2: Scotty when she didn't have hair for those photos pop
- 58:23Speaker 2: up on her little digital frame. Always a great gift
- 58:26Speaker 2: to have a great product to have around the house.
- 58:27Speaker 2: It's one of those digital frames that kind of runs
- 58:29Speaker 2: through your album and you just look at it and
- 58:32Speaker 2: I just see little Scotty Joe. She's sixteen months. She
- 58:34Speaker 2: still our little She's still our little baby. She's our
- 58:36Speaker 2: youngest baby right now. And you just see those old photos, bro,
- 58:41Speaker 2: and it's just it's such a reminder that everything is
- 58:44Speaker 2: so fleeting. Yeah, Like we're having full conversations with Rue,
- 58:48Speaker 2: Like her curiosity is off the charts. The thing she
- 58:51Speaker 2: wants to do, she wants to operate more and more
- 58:53Speaker 2: independently every.
- 58:54Speaker 1: Day she is. She's a little girl. Yeah, she's a
- 58:57Speaker 1: little girl now for sure.
- 59:00Speaker 2: Yeah, she's getting heavier as I'm holding her, like the
- 59:04Speaker 2: mortality of she's not gonna want me to hold her soon.
- 59:08Speaker 1: I don't know when that.
- 59:09Speaker 2: Happens, like I was gonna google it, but I'm sure
- 59:11Speaker 2: parents out there probably have their own stories, and when
- 59:13Speaker 2: they're maybe their last time that they remember or what age,
- 59:16Speaker 2: it kind of stops happening. But I can just tell, like,
- 59:18Speaker 2: as I pick her up, she's getting heavier. One day
- 59:20Speaker 2: she's gonna not want me to hold her. And that
- 59:22Speaker 2: day now is so much sooner than what I thought.
- 59:26Speaker 2: And when I'm in the suck and you're thinking, fuck,
- 59:29Speaker 2: she can't walk, I have to pick her up or
- 59:31Speaker 2: she can't you know, she can't stand up, she's only crawling,
- 59:34Speaker 2: or she can walk a little bit. I kind of
- 59:35Speaker 2: gotta be around her all the time. Let me just
- 59:36Speaker 2: pick her up here. And it feels in those moments
- 59:40Speaker 2: that it's like a nuisance that you're picking them up.
- 59:41Speaker 2: Those those moments are gonna happen. But just dude, enjoyed
- 59:45Speaker 2: as much as you can. And like our buddy said
- 59:48Speaker 2: when he called in when Taylor was on, like fuck
- 59:50Speaker 2: the people that say wait until they wait, hey, just wait,
- 59:54Speaker 2: just wait, dude, no be there now, and fucking love it.
- 59:59Speaker 1: Bro.
- 1:00:00Speaker 5: Can I show you a picture really quick that kind
- 1:00:02Speaker 5: of ties into this. Yeah, I won't go into like
- 1:00:05Speaker 5: a full fledged story. But we had our first big
- 1:00:09Speaker 5: thunderstorm over was it Monday night or no Sunday night, Yeah,
- 1:00:14Speaker 5: a couple of nights ago, and dude, Scarlett was scared
- 1:00:17Speaker 5: and she was crying and it was so cute, dude.
- 1:00:19Speaker 5: The lightning would strike, like you would see the lightning
- 1:00:23Speaker 5: flash and then you would just hear on the monitor. Yeah,
- 1:00:28Speaker 5: and Jill was like, go get her, go get her,
- 1:00:31Speaker 5: or maybe she got her. I can't remember, but I
- 1:00:34Speaker 5: took a chef I sent it to you. I took
- 1:00:36Speaker 5: that picture in the morning of what I woke up
- 1:00:38Speaker 5: to you, dude, and I was just.
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: Like, God, I love this man, because that's the best.
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: Like, even when the storm has happened, part of me
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: the other night I was wondering if Scottie or R
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: was gonna wake up and we'd have to get him,
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: get him to the bed, because part of me is
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: kind of like loves it.
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: Oh the gold I'm sleeping in the bed with us
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: because we don't do the bed a hold lot at
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: this age. Yeah, yeah, we don't either.
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: Yeah, we don't either, And just like sleeping independent, like
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: that's the route we chose to go. Yeah, And so
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: when we do sleepovers and everything else. Like I'm just
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: obsessed when I got thinking when I got Ru in
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: the bed, because they're obviously young, Like even with Scotty
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: now we haven't done a sleepover anything with Scotty because
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: she's still operating, Like moving around you get a little
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: nervous obviously, the safe sleeping same yeah, yeah, but I'm
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: always excited, Like when Ru was coming up, I'm just like, hey,
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: when when can we start to where she's like sleeps
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: in her bed, Like I.
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: Just want to cuddle them, dude.
- 1:01:32Speaker 5: The little there was one point in the night to
- 1:01:34Speaker 5: that she had right hand hooked around mom's pinky and
- 1:01:38Speaker 5: left hand hooked around dad's thumb, just just both of
- 1:01:43Speaker 5: them up like this and and just passed out, dude,
- 1:01:46Speaker 5: and the little Binkie's going, it's the cutest way possible, dude,
- 1:01:51Speaker 5: And you just want to squish him and you want
- 1:01:54Speaker 5: to suffocate them, you want to subthing, like yeah, the
- 1:01:58Speaker 5: love that urges inside your body is almost like it's
- 1:02:02Speaker 5: crazy primal where you're like I could kill you.
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: I love you so badly.
- 1:02:07Speaker 5: Yeah yeah, yeah, And dude, she's starting to giggle too
- 1:02:10Speaker 5: on the neck. Kisses I don't even do neck kisses. Really,
- 1:02:13Speaker 5: I just with my tongue just got like on her
- 1:02:16Speaker 5: neck and just that little Oh, dude, play it on repeat. Yeah,
- 1:02:24Speaker 5: I just need a playlist. Make sure you get some.
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: Recordings of that, oh, whether it's voice recordings or video.
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: Buddy Bud Jill's on that game. Jills on that game.
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: God dude being the dad one, I know.
- 1:02:39Speaker 5: Yeah, I as far as we kind of touched on
- 1:02:43Speaker 5: our dad losses already, do we want to go into
- 1:02:47Speaker 5: our favorite segment, crack a cold one?
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: I do before we get off the dead losses. I
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: do have a dead loss here, Oh from autism Miller.
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: This is an email of a dad loss. Thank y'all
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: so much. I finally got my PT six shirts second
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: from the left. We do have a photo of the
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: dad's PT six ers repping the Papa Team six shirts
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: again BWTV dot com. I have an amazing village now
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: that I'm the last of our group to have a
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: little one. I have a baby boy on the way
- 1:03:17Speaker 2: and all the way on the left. Him and his
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: wife are having twin boys shortly after me and my wife.
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: I am blessed with my PT six shirt.
- 1:03:24Speaker 2: I had my paper party on March fourteenth, Oo and
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: my friend group came through with plenty of diapers and gifts,
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: and I'm super grateful. This podcast has been a blessing
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: for all four of us and we were just having
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: a great time supporting each other.
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: Brothers for life.
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: Tommy is a girl dad with twin boys on the way,
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: Austin boy on the way. That's me, Darren, two girl dads,
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: JP girl dad love you guys, keep up the great work.
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: This was under the dad lost one.
- 1:03:52Speaker 6: So his dad loss and dad wins. You should have
- 1:03:53Speaker 6: said dead win. And also it should just be Austin Miller.
- 1:03:56Speaker 6: That is a typo. I apologize, Sure, what does your
- 1:03:58Speaker 6: say dad lost or dad win?
- 1:04:00Speaker 5: Dad dad waynet covered by dad loss. I have a
- 1:04:03Speaker 5: dad loss here to that.
- 1:04:04Speaker 6: I apologize, That's okay, it is it is Austin Miller.
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: That is the type.
- 1:04:08Speaker 6: I want to put out an apology because well, you
- 1:04:12Speaker 6: are Rod Burgundy.
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: You read the note about Scarscar.
- 1:04:14Speaker 6: After talking about the story of Scarscar, you read autism
- 1:04:17Speaker 6: Miller instead of instead of Austin.
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: I'm sorry to you, Will. I just confidently I saw it,
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: and I'm like, hey, if that's his name, if it
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: makes you feel any better. I truly like, but it's
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: not like one letter. It does say autism Miller. It does.
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: And I thought I was reading the Dad loss. We
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: got a dad loss here? Read the Dallas. This sounds
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: like a pretty good story. He's got the boys together,
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: they're all having kids. That's a crack of cold one.
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: That's a I okay, really quick note for Darren Derek.
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: Come ahead and just hey, I'm sorry.
- 1:05:07Speaker 5: I just put to put a nice piece of bread
- 1:05:10Speaker 5: on the ship sandwich that his aunt is a Miller.
- 1:05:16Speaker 5: Every time when I get in drop box there and
- 1:05:19Speaker 5: I go to the voice smails every single time. In
- 1:05:22Speaker 5: my head, I'm like, I know they're gonna be there,
- 1:05:25Speaker 5: there's no question, and they're all gonna rip. And I
- 1:05:29Speaker 5: just never questioned that. So I just wanted you to
- 1:05:31Speaker 5: hear that I have that thought this morning.
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: Oh I'm sorry.
- 1:05:35Speaker 5: No, you rip, you rip? I have a dad lost here. Well,
- 1:05:39Speaker 5: it's a it's an air an email.
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: Willy Burgundy, Willie old Willie Burgundy. You put all the
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: prompter read literally Wait, oh, Scotty's birthday was wrong? Okay, yeah,
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: passed that one up. Who wrote that one? There's no
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: name on it. I think that's just a reminder. Takes
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: sip a lollipop.
- 1:06:11Speaker 5: Fellas, for the first time in my adult life, I
- 1:06:13Speaker 5: forgot to take out the trash. Oh, this is Aaron's
- 1:06:17Speaker 5: first time, so first time offender.
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: Let's see.
- 1:06:20Speaker 5: Let's see what he says to make matters worse. It
- 1:06:22Speaker 5: was also a recycling week. Ours only comes and picks
- 1:06:25Speaker 5: up every other week. Bro, that's two weeks or what
- 1:06:30Speaker 5: four weeks of recycling month?
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: Miss one? Yeah, recycling is every other week.
- 1:06:38Speaker 5: Yeah, he said, biggest dad fail for me in recent memory.
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: But guess what he said at the end? Good? Good,
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: So Aaron style, you fuck up good, you get the
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: food back, and you try to get better. Yeah.
- 1:06:54Speaker 5: Pt sickos, empty sickos, and goom berets alike.
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: Welcome to the.
- 1:07:01Speaker 5: One and Only ad read that we are going to
- 1:07:04Speaker 5: break away from the episode to talk to you about lollipop.
- 1:07:09Speaker 5: They send in these hats we talked about a little
- 1:07:11Speaker 5: bit on the sode they sent in Shirley Temps. We're
- 1:07:15Speaker 5: talking about the O G. Mocktel Shirley Temple. Okay, it's
- 1:07:22Speaker 5: got the hiss, it's got the crack, doesn't have the punch,
- 1:07:25Speaker 5: which is a question you should never ask yourself before

- 1:09:20Speaker 5: just listen to it, dude, And this is one of
- 1:09:23Speaker 5: my favorites, orange cream. Willie, do you want to kick
- 1:09:27Speaker 5: us off for Kracker cold one?
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: My Cracker cold one? I was alluding to it. It
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: was basically my rowse of the weekend send out at dinner.
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: It was my brother coming to town. Joy bro Joy
- 1:09:37Speaker 2: was in my heart the whole time.
- 1:09:38Speaker 5: Can you can you break down? Uh, just really quick.
- 1:09:42Speaker 5: It's Wyatt more of your personality. It's just a little
- 1:09:45Speaker 5: different from you. What what is that? Brotherly or Chip?
- 1:09:50Speaker 5: We're different? Why it is just so.
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: Easy to hang out with? Yeah?
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: Not that like my dad and Cody, aren't they are
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: as well, but Wyat him just being the youngest, I guess,
- 1:10:05Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: I feel like he uh, he's got that air about
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: him that interview.
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, like we both we always have like
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: good conversations. I'm never nervous to ask him any question
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: about like what's going on. I always feel like I'm
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: trying to give him advice, but I'm also trying to
- 1:10:20Speaker 2: keep myself from giving too much advice, you know what
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: I mean, because I care about him and he's just
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: easy to be around.
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:10:29Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel like everybody in my family would say
- 1:10:31Speaker 2: that about Wyatt, like he's just he's easy to go
- 1:10:33Speaker 2: with the flow. Yeah, he loves anything like that he's
- 1:10:37Speaker 2: involved with and he's doing.
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: He like loves what he does.
- 1:10:40Speaker 2: Now that he's the head football coach of North County,
- 1:10:43Speaker 2: I can tell he takes a lot of great pride
- 1:10:45Speaker 2: in being the head coach of North Like he's very
- 1:10:47Speaker 2: excited and me like, I'm like, you know, trying to
- 1:10:50Speaker 2: get in the weeds of like what are you thinking,
- 1:10:52Speaker 2: Like do you have a plan?
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: What's the vision? Like you're still big brother.
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: I'm still like big bro, and I'll feel myself when
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: I'm being too much of big bro. And then just
- 1:11:03Speaker 2: like watching them around my girl, like around my daughters,
- 1:11:06Speaker 2: you know what I mean, Like operating with the family
- 1:11:10Speaker 2: conversations that me Troy, him and Morgan will sit there
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: late at night, like we were playing games one night
- 1:11:14Speaker 2: where we were playing clue and code names. We're having
- 1:11:17Speaker 2: conversations because they're both teachers. We're asking about like the
- 1:11:21Speaker 2: school system and how it is now, like what are
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: the kids like all the drama that goes on in
- 1:11:25Speaker 2: their world in school and teaching. Just easy to be
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: around man. And again I don't see them often. Yeah,
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: Like it always feels like I'm We're all connected because
- 1:11:38Speaker 2: I know White, like White watches this show.
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: Shout out White, who is listening to this show right now?
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: Come on, Wyatt?
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: And he's even said like this has become like his
- 1:11:45Speaker 2: favorite show to listen to in the Busting Verse, and
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: even all of the other pods that he listens to,
- 1:11:50Speaker 2: he loves watching this one or listening to this one.
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: Can I speak to Wyatt really quickly, speak to him?
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: Whytt I do want to apologize?
- 1:11:57Speaker 5: When Jill and I put Scarlett down for her morning nap,
- 1:12:01Speaker 5: we also we call it rerack, like you put yourself
- 1:12:04Speaker 5: back in the oven. We got back in bed and
- 1:12:07Speaker 5: took a morning nap as well. And I missed Will's
- 1:12:09Speaker 5: invite to join y'all at the farmer's market.
- 1:12:14Speaker 2: I think yours was the Santos breakfast. Bro, I just
- 1:12:17Speaker 2: know what I'm going over in that neck of the woods.
- 1:12:19Speaker 2: I'm just thinking like.
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: He would have been there though, right, Yeah, yeah, yeah
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: he was. I apologize.
- 1:12:23Speaker 5: I very much would have loved to meet you and
- 1:12:27Speaker 5: give him hell this first season.
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: Why it's a stud, bro, He's going to good soul.
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: Just love him.
- 1:12:34Speaker 5: Yeah, the more confidence I meet, the better. Yeah, and
- 1:12:36Speaker 5: like your childhood friends and stuff like Nick Rips Rips.
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: You know Nick's listening right now. He's a sick go
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: he is.
- 1:12:47Speaker 2: But yeah, because I shot him all a message, my
- 1:12:49Speaker 2: dad and my brother's in a group check. Because I
- 1:12:51Speaker 2: want to get him out to the house. I want
- 1:12:52Speaker 2: to get him out to see the new spot. We
- 1:12:54Speaker 2: haven't seen each other, Like we didn't do Christmas, because
- 1:12:56Speaker 2: if you've listened to this show throughout since the incubation
- 1:12:59Speaker 2: of it, yep, we had to cancel Christmas with him
- 1:13:02Speaker 2: because everybody basically got the flu mega sick. Yeah, Mega six.
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: So we did Christmas presents. But it was fun to
- 1:13:09Speaker 2: see him because I just I feel like I don't
- 1:13:11Speaker 2: get to see him often.
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: And what I was saying is.
- 1:13:13Speaker 2: It feels like we're all tied to each other all
- 1:13:15Speaker 2: the time because they might consume they consume what I
- 1:13:17Speaker 2: do on social media. They consume the podcast and everything else.
- 1:13:21Speaker 2: But as far as like getting on the phone, checking in,
- 1:13:23Speaker 2: having like deeper conversations.
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: We don't get to do that often.
- 1:13:27Speaker 2: And knowing how fragile life is and knowing how quick
- 1:13:32Speaker 2: time moves. It's just like when he's there, the perspective
- 1:13:36Speaker 2: I'm starting to have watching him engage with the family
- 1:13:39Speaker 2: and be at the house and all of that is
- 1:13:42Speaker 2: like it's like a special moment.
- 1:13:44Speaker 5: Yeah, dude, and you're building a family. Yeah, he is
- 1:13:46Speaker 5: the uncle to your kids. Yeah, and he operates like
- 1:13:50Speaker 5: a great uncle. Like when he's he's going around the
- 1:13:52Speaker 5: flower farm with Rue, is him Morgan and Ru going
- 1:13:55Speaker 5: around the flower farm And I'm kind of watching him
- 1:13:57Speaker 5: stapping photos and everything else. But I'm with Mom and
- 1:13:59Speaker 5: Scottie because we had our own bucket and just seeing
- 1:14:02Speaker 5: whyatt help her and teach her how to use the
- 1:14:05Speaker 5: like the cutters, like the scissors to cut the stems
- 1:14:07Speaker 5: at the bottom, and then at the end, Rue's operating
- 1:14:10Speaker 5: all of it.
- 1:14:11Speaker 2: She's cutting all the stems. It's just a wide mixture
- 1:14:14Speaker 2: range of flowers in this bucket. And why he's like
- 1:14:18Speaker 2: a craftsman, Like he can build things. He can do
- 1:14:19Speaker 2: a lot of stuff working on the house. He can
- 1:14:21Speaker 2: do a lot of that stuff. And in my brain
- 1:14:22Speaker 2: I start thinking, I didn't tell why at this, but
- 1:14:25Speaker 2: I'm like, wouldn't it be cool if every year there's
- 1:14:28Speaker 2: a like almost an annual thing that happens to where
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: he helps Rue build something that like Whyett brainstorms off
- 1:14:33Speaker 2: thinks up. Yeah, like the way my grandpa would do
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: with us, like when he's building us a dog house
- 1:14:38Speaker 2: or that rifle that was a wooden rifle or something
- 1:14:42Speaker 2: something new to tinker with to where we're out in
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: the garage around him. I'm envisioning, like why it would
- 1:14:46Speaker 2: be that uncle to where Rude know's and why it
- 1:14:49Speaker 2: comes like they're going to do something in the crafts world.
- 1:14:51Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm very close with my mom's sister, my aunt
- 1:14:56Speaker 5: Arden or Auntie Arlieu.
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: Yeah, and yeah, dude.
- 1:15:00Speaker 5: Every single year Thanksgiving is always with Auntie Arlou every
- 1:15:05Speaker 5: single year, and that, yeah, it just cemented that relationship.
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: And she calls us her fuse for her nephews.
- 1:15:15Speaker 5: Yeah, and she always secretly tells Jordan and myself but
- 1:15:19Speaker 5: behind each other's back, that were her favorite fee of course,
- 1:15:22Speaker 5: of course.
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: But dude, I love that, and I love the dynamic
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: of the siblings.
- 1:15:28Speaker 5: And like Ruth's probably looking at Wyatt and going, he
- 1:15:30Speaker 5: kind of looks like my dad. Yeah, he kind of
- 1:15:33Speaker 5: acts like my dad, Like I really like this guy.
- 1:15:36Speaker 5: And Scarlet when she was much younger, when Jordan and
- 1:15:42Speaker 5: my dad came out to see us, and I don't
- 1:15:44Speaker 5: know how many weeks old she was, but she was young.
- 1:15:47Speaker 5: She would really only kind of react to Jilla and
- 1:15:50Speaker 5: I's faces, and then Jordan because he had a beard
- 1:15:53Speaker 5: and a hat on when he held her at that
- 1:15:56Speaker 5: pumpkin patch that we love was like tree farms. Yeah,
- 1:16:01Speaker 5: shout out, no, free shout out. Gave the biggest smile
- 1:16:04Speaker 5: to my brother, and she probably totally thought, oh, i'm
- 1:16:07Speaker 5: a that's dad.
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: Uh yeah, yeah, were there something familiar or something this safe?
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: Yeah this feels safe. Dude.
- 1:16:14Speaker 2: It's so funny because Rue was when we were down
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: in the living room one of the days, she was
- 1:16:19Speaker 2: on the us looking similar, and I'm like, yeah, that's
- 1:16:23Speaker 2: my brother, that's my brother, Wyatt. So you're trying to
- 1:16:25Speaker 2: break down your little toddler because you know, as parents
- 1:16:28Speaker 2: when you remember it now when you're coming up, but
- 1:16:31Speaker 2: when they're getting on you about something, they're like, I
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: was your age once, but you can never just picture
- 1:16:36Speaker 2: because they are your parents.
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: Yes, so you never put.
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: Them in the world like, okay, I doubt you. You're
- 1:16:40Speaker 2: going through what I went through. Yeah, And so I'm
- 1:16:44Speaker 2: trying to break.
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: Down the room.
- 1:16:45Speaker 2: I'm like Wyatt and dad, Dad, like we were brothers,
- 1:16:48Speaker 2: Like we were small, just like you. So when you
- 1:16:50Speaker 2: when you were gonna be six, that's when Whyatt was born.
- 1:16:53Speaker 2: So like the way you and Scotti are are sisters,
- 1:16:56Speaker 2: Like Whyatt was my baby brother, the same way that
- 1:16:59Speaker 2: Scotty's your baby sister. And we were little just like
- 1:17:01Speaker 2: you guys growing up and everything else. So him being
- 1:17:05Speaker 2: my brother, that is why he is your uncle Wyatt.
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: Yeah. And she'll be like can you hey, daddd, let
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: me tell you something. I'm like, okay, tell me and
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: she's like can you can you look at way and say.
- 1:17:16Speaker 2: Hi, brother Wyatt, and I'm like sure, I'm like hi,
- 1:17:20Speaker 2: brother Wyatt. And he's like hello, Hello, and I look
- 1:17:25Speaker 2: at room and I'm like.
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: Did that do it? Yeah? I did that? Far you up.
- 1:17:30Speaker 7: She's like yeah, Will on the On the Man the
- 1:17:35Speaker 7: Pod yesterday when you were talking about him taking the
- 1:17:38Speaker 7: head football coaching job. Yeah, and you were kind of
- 1:17:41Speaker 7: giving your whole speech and telling him like you got
- 1:17:43Speaker 7: to get into it. And Taylor asks you and goes,
- 1:17:45Speaker 7: what was his response, and you said he just went.
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean I hope we win. Yeah, it'd be awesome.
- 1:17:50Speaker 7: That made me laugh so hard, and that was one
- 1:17:52Speaker 7: of the most relatable. I just immediately went, yeah, if
- 1:17:55Speaker 7: I was same combo with my brother, exact same what exactly?
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: Wait, yeah, and I hope. So I'm like, are you excited? Yeah?
- 1:18:03Speaker 2: Yeah, Yeah, it's like that dynamic is there no matter what,
- 1:18:07Speaker 2: Like he's not gonna show like he's it's like he's
- 1:18:09Speaker 2: gonna walk through all of his cards, Like there's just
- 1:18:11Speaker 2: the brother dynamic that's happening in real time.
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: So yeah, it'd be awesome. I'm like, yeah, are you pumped?
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: You like, are you excited? Yeah? Yeah, I just.
- 1:18:21Speaker 5: Know what a coach will is even this morning with
- 1:18:26Speaker 5: chef of you being like chef, hey, pick pick Jared's brain.
- 1:18:31Speaker 5: You can you can learn a lot from from Jared.
- 1:18:34Speaker 5: And there was a moment that I thought, laughing super
- 1:18:37Speaker 5: hard when you asked me because you have these like
- 1:18:40Speaker 5: coachesms that literally remind me of my middle school and.
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: High school coaches.
- 1:18:47Speaker 5: When I was at your house and you broke something
- 1:18:49Speaker 5: down for me that was like lengthy. It wasn't like
- 1:18:52Speaker 5: a monologue, but it was lengthy. And at the end
- 1:18:54Speaker 5: of it, you looked at me and you were cutting
- 1:18:56Speaker 5: tangerines for Scotty and you go, so tell me what
- 1:18:59Speaker 5: you heard. And I said, like summarize it or verbatim,
- 1:19:09Speaker 5: and you go, just what you heard? Go okay.
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: In my head, I'm like, dude, I am in my
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: eighth grade locker room right now, and Coach Scott's like
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: going over for them because when you give them something
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: what you need, if you're whether you're teaching somebody or
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: anything else, you want them to be able to regurgitate
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: it back to you because you want to know too.
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: Am I being clear? Like I could be like I can.
- 1:19:34Speaker 2: Be long win, but I can go all over the mat,
- 1:19:37Speaker 2: which I know I'll be as a parent, But it's like,
- 1:19:40Speaker 2: you want them to recite it back to you.
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: Number one.
- 1:19:42Speaker 2: You want to know if they're listening to paying attention,
- 1:19:43Speaker 2: but also trying to get feedback on Did I explain
- 1:19:46Speaker 2: that clearly in the.
- 1:19:47Speaker 5: Future, Should I give this advice to Sherman is even
- 1:19:50Speaker 5: receptive to this when I get advised in Yeah, no,
- 1:19:53Speaker 5: I there was no like I loved it.
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: Yeah, I love that world of I just.
- 1:19:59Speaker 5: Envision head coach Wyatt now it is that yeah to
- 1:20:03Speaker 5: a lot of kids.
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: And now older brother Will It just makes me giggle.
- 1:20:10Speaker 2: Because he'll tell me how he's got great trust. He's
- 1:20:13Speaker 2: because he's a younger coach. Yeah, he's got great relationships
- 1:20:16Speaker 2: with guys. And I'm sitting there and I'm not and
- 1:20:19Speaker 2: I'm thinking in my head, you don't want that to
- 1:20:21Speaker 2: be a point to where they can take advantage because
- 1:20:23Speaker 2: you're so close with them. And I'm my response to friends,
- 1:20:26Speaker 2: and I'm yeah, yeah, I don't like. You gotta be
- 1:20:28Speaker 2: hard on them. Yeah, I'm telling you right now, you
- 1:20:30Speaker 2: gotta be tough on them. It's good that you have
- 1:20:32Speaker 2: trust and great relationships with your team and they love you,
- 1:20:36Speaker 2: probably because you're fun and all these things, but you
- 1:20:38Speaker 2: gotta be fucking you gotta be able to crack the whip.
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: Why I want them showing the little guty snapchats at
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: this ending to each other with the TikTok dancersre you
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: shouldn't be laughing with them if they're showing you something
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: on their phone, unless it's an unappropriate time and place.
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: They talk about Dojah Cat, you ask who's that? I
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: don't care if you even know who Thoja Cat you said,
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: who the hell is that?
- 1:21:00Speaker 2: You just think of all the coaches and the mentors
- 1:21:04Speaker 2: and leaders who have been hard on you in the past,
- 1:21:07Speaker 2: and you look back now, like Bo Polini comes in
- 1:21:10Speaker 2: my mind. Yeah, and you look back now, or my dad,
- 1:21:14Speaker 2: you look back now and you appreciate them being hard
- 1:21:19Speaker 2: on you. You feel like some things could have been
- 1:21:21Speaker 2: explained in a better way to where you get on
- 1:21:23Speaker 2: the same page. Like Bo made a comment when we
- 1:21:25Speaker 2: were on Busting, He's like, I knew I could be
- 1:21:28Speaker 2: hard on you because you'd be receptive and you would
- 1:21:30Speaker 2: help me. If I'm hard on you, then it's shown
- 1:21:33Speaker 2: that I can be hard on the others. And I'm
- 1:21:35Speaker 2: thinking man, if I would have known that, if you
- 1:21:37Speaker 2: would have told me kind of like, hey, I'm gonna
- 1:21:40Speaker 2: fucking rip your ass. But here's how we're kind of
- 1:21:42Speaker 2: solving both things. Number One, I think you're very receptive
- 1:21:45Speaker 2: to it. You respond well, and it helps me get
- 1:21:48Speaker 2: on others ass. That is seeing if you're an example.
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: Yeah, and I'm thinking, dude, I like lived in my
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: head like, yeah, I might have been receptive, like I'm
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: always like I want to please, I want to make
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: you guys, like I want to be as good as
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: I can. And when you're ripping into my ass some
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: like in my head like there'd be nice ll, I'm
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: thinking I'm failing you. But if I knew that you're
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: also trying to solve another problem with the team at large,
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: then I would have known. We would have been on
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: a much different wavelength.
- 1:22:16Speaker 2: But I still look back on all that stuff and
- 1:22:18Speaker 2: I'm like, Okay, you just appreciate those people who were
- 1:22:21Speaker 2: hard on you, that could see farther down the road
- 1:22:24Speaker 2: that you could see, because we're very short sighted as
- 1:22:27Speaker 2: younger kids, younger athletes, whatever it is, to where you
- 1:22:31Speaker 2: now have perspective being older, And I just think the
- 1:22:34Speaker 2: same thing like with Wyatt, like I was staying it
- 1:22:36Speaker 2: on bust and I'm like, you are growing men like
- 1:22:39Speaker 2: they're in high school, but you want them to feel
- 1:22:42Speaker 2: that you were hard on them. And then one day
- 1:22:44Speaker 2: they respect you enough because you were hard on them,
- 1:22:46Speaker 2: because they're going to go out into the world and
- 1:22:48Speaker 2: they might see a loosey goosey structure of everything else
- 1:22:50Speaker 2: and then they think that, oh, this is why my
- 1:22:53Speaker 2: coach was like this on me.
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: Back in the day. Coach Comptent would be pissed if
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: he saw this operation like this, and you're thinking, these
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: guys don't get it. Yeah, they don't get it. Coach
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: Compton be chewing their ass.
- 1:23:04Speaker 5: Yeah, and it does make the out of boys that
- 1:23:07Speaker 5: much better when you do have that kid. Yeah, that
- 1:23:10Speaker 5: never not never gives out of boys. But you know,
- 1:23:15Speaker 5: in eighth grade we had that like drill Sergeant Coach
- 1:23:18Speaker 5: Alito is like a hardcore program. And I mean that
- 1:23:22Speaker 5: dude was a snake And I only got one helmet hit.
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: After a touchdown. That was it.
- 1:23:29Speaker 5: But that meant Dude, when he hit the side of
- 1:23:31Speaker 5: my helmet as I was coming to the sideline, Yeah,
- 1:23:34Speaker 5: I was like yeah.
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: Like he liked Yeah, it's like parenthood as well.
- 1:23:39Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like you want to be on a level
- 1:23:41Speaker 2: with him where they trust you enough that they can
- 1:23:43Speaker 2: talk to you about anything. But there's also that dynamic
- 1:23:45Speaker 2: of the you're not their friend. Yeah, there's also the
- 1:23:48Speaker 2: dynamic of respect that it's a respect, it's maybe like
- 1:23:52Speaker 2: a healthy fear, but that respect of I trust the
- 1:23:57Speaker 2: direction he's going to guide me, yeah, versus like I'm
- 1:24:00Speaker 2: scared to approach him because he is so hard.
- 1:24:02Speaker 5: On Yes, dude, finding the balance of hey, I don't
- 1:24:07Speaker 5: want to do the wrong thing because I know that
- 1:24:10Speaker 5: he wants the best for me and wants the right thing,
- 1:24:13Speaker 5: not because I like, oh here comes the assche and yeah,
- 1:24:17Speaker 5: that's what I've been trying to avoid for the last
- 1:24:19Speaker 5: couple of months.
- 1:24:20Speaker 2: Yeah, that would be a fear I would have with
- 1:24:22Speaker 2: my dad at times growing up, because he was very
- 1:24:23Speaker 2: hard on us. He was like a tough love. Like now,
- 1:24:26Speaker 2: our relationship is incredible because we look back and I
- 1:24:30Speaker 2: do feel so comfortable talking to him about a lot
- 1:24:33Speaker 2: of these things, yeah, or a lot of like shortcomings
- 1:24:38Speaker 2: we can call them. But our relationship now is much
- 1:24:41Speaker 2: different from when I was growing up because he was
- 1:24:43Speaker 2: more like a not like Dan Gables this way, but
- 1:24:48Speaker 2: he was like a he.
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: Was hard on us, Yes, sick of mindset. Yeah, like
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: don't don't.
- 1:24:53Speaker 2: Be tiptoe around the house, or don't don't be heavy
- 1:24:56Speaker 2: foot around the house. You're not on your toes, You're
- 1:24:59Speaker 2: not being that's not like you know, fast or whatever. Yeah,
- 1:25:02Speaker 2: it seems like you're lazy. We had type of it
- 1:25:05Speaker 2: would be kind of like it'd be like Friday night lights. Yes,
- 1:25:08Speaker 2: you drop the lamp. Yeah, can't hold on a lamp,
- 1:25:11Speaker 2: can't hold on the football. At times, this wasn't all
- 1:25:13Speaker 2: the time. I didn't abuse the shit.
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: That's a great scene by the way.
- 1:25:17Speaker 5: Yeah, we also just did another idiot segue, a perfect
- 1:25:21Speaker 5: idiot segue, because my crack a cold one is being
- 1:25:25Speaker 5: a coach at.
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: The First Tea Fall forward, man.
- 1:25:29Speaker 5: I know which Actually this is a great conversation as
- 1:25:32Speaker 5: far as my crack a cold one. This week, I'm
- 1:25:36Speaker 5: volunteering at First Tea, which is a nonprofit golf thing.
- 1:25:41Speaker 5: You basically give free golf lessons to kids in a
- 1:25:45Speaker 5: in and around a community.
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: So I'm doing it here in Nashville.
- 1:25:49Speaker 5: I just wanted something to get my mind off of work,
- 1:25:52Speaker 5: get my mind off of the house, a little something
- 1:25:55Speaker 5: for me. But that's also kind of giving back and I'm.
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: Very excited for it.
- 1:26:00Speaker 5: But I have like the ten to twelve year olds,
- 1:26:02Speaker 5: So these kids are actual, like they can golf and
- 1:26:05Speaker 5: they're like little dudes.
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: You know what I mean. And you're going in to
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: just like volunteer. Yeah, volunteering as like a coach. But
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: I'm so excited.
- 1:26:14Speaker 5: I don't have like, dude, I'm like a twenty two
- 1:26:16Speaker 5: to twenty four handicap.
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: Like I'm not some stud golfer.
- 1:26:20Speaker 5: There's some little things I could, little nuggets here and there,
- 1:26:23Speaker 5: but I am excited to see where that like mentor
- 1:26:28Speaker 5: ship or you know whatever, because that's part of the
- 1:26:31Speaker 5: program too, is they have all these pillars of like
- 1:26:34Speaker 5: life lessons the kids are being taught as well.
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: I you know, I love that. Yeah, and I'm excited
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: for it.
- 1:26:42Speaker 5: But it's a good reminder too of like you can't
- 1:26:44Speaker 5: be too you know, too much of friends with them
- 1:26:47Speaker 5: from the standpoint, but also being able to be this
- 1:26:50Speaker 5: guide and this friendly like you know whatever in their life.
- 1:26:55Speaker 1: It'll be fun. Dude. I haven't done something like this
- 1:26:57Speaker 1: in a long time, so I'm I'm actually like really excited.
- 1:27:00Speaker 2: I think you're gonna get a lot of value out
- 1:27:02Speaker 2: of it. Yeah, dude, there's this cool philosophy on no
- 1:27:06Speaker 2: matter what stage you're in, like having a mentor somebody
- 1:27:09Speaker 2: that is like you know, third party, they're disconnected from
- 1:27:12Speaker 2: your day to day operating.
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: Inside of your circle. Yes, but you have a mentor
- 1:27:17Speaker 1: that you lean on. Yep.
- 1:27:18Speaker 2: You have somebody that you're doing it with. So it
- 1:27:21Speaker 2: would be in our case anybody at work that you
- 1:27:23Speaker 2: were say, say you have a workout buddyut accountabil a buddy. Yeah,
- 1:27:26Speaker 2: somebody that you're doing things with. And also somebody that
- 1:27:29Speaker 2: you are you are mentoring or giving back to that
- 1:27:32Speaker 2: is a quote unquote below you.
- 1:27:34Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah, to like.
- 1:27:35Speaker 2: Kind of feed your soul like those are like that
- 1:27:38Speaker 2: was like a like a philosophy. I was reading it
- 1:27:42Speaker 2: about and like uh at Nebraska and then I saw
- 1:27:46Speaker 2: Rex Burkhead as like my equals somebody that I looked
- 1:27:49Speaker 2: up to, but that you almost don't know that you're
- 1:27:52Speaker 2: looking up to. So and so, like if I'm looking
- 1:27:54Speaker 2: up to you or looking up to Derek or looking
- 1:27:55Speaker 2: up to Chef, like you guys don't know that I'm
- 1:27:58Speaker 2: getting stuff that you got are adding value to my
- 1:28:01Speaker 2: life and we're kind of doing this thing together.
- 1:28:03Speaker 1: Yeah, then I can have a guy.
- 1:28:04Speaker 2: Who I'll like lean on for any you know, you
- 1:28:06Speaker 2: have like different mentors, whether it's parenthood, business, work, relationships, spiritual,
- 1:28:14Speaker 2: financial anything, right, yes, yes, and then you have the
- 1:28:17Speaker 2: one where you're giving back. So I love, dude. I
- 1:28:20Speaker 2: love that you're doing that.
- 1:28:21Speaker 5: I've desperately needed it and it'll be a lot of
- 1:28:24Speaker 5: fun and just to get to be outside, dude.
- 1:28:26Speaker 1: Golf such a fun sport. I just love the game
- 1:28:29Speaker 1: of golf.
- 1:28:30Speaker 5: I'd love if there's any sport where you can get
- 1:28:34Speaker 5: away with it, it's golf of cheating.
- 1:28:38Speaker 1: Yeah, and like just the we were talking about that
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: at the zoo. Oh really remember we were walking in
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: talking about golf.
- 1:28:45Speaker 2: But like committing to golf and then you and your
- 1:28:47Speaker 2: boys go and do aight and holes, but it takes out,
- 1:28:50Speaker 2: it carves out, like all these hours on a weekday.
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: Or weekend, six hours honey. Yeah, so we know you
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: got kids. Yeah, yeah, yeah, how is golf on it good?
- 1:29:00Speaker 2: You're getting drunk with the boys of the golf course.
- 1:29:02Speaker 2: You're going for like how long would do eighteen holes.
- 1:29:05Speaker 1: Last four, five, six, Yeah, I mean yeah, really he
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: can last that long? Like that is crazy. If it's
- 1:29:11Speaker 1: a packed day.
- 1:29:12Speaker 5: And everybody's in foursomes, yeah, it could be that long.
- 1:29:16Speaker 5: It's it's nuts, but uh yeah, to get to like
- 1:29:19Speaker 5: teach those kids accountability and like why you don't tell
- 1:29:23Speaker 5: your friend that you got a birdie when you part it,
- 1:29:25Speaker 5: you know, and like what that what that deeper meaning is,
- 1:29:29Speaker 5: and how that's applied to life of like doing the
- 1:29:33Speaker 5: right thing when nobody's looking. And so I just think
- 1:29:36Speaker 5: golf has Every sport has lessons in it, but golf
- 1:29:39Speaker 5: has some particularly fun ones with like what are you
- 1:29:42Speaker 5: doing when nobody's watching you?
- 1:29:44Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 1:29:44Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, and uh kind of any solo sport like
- 1:29:47Speaker 5: tennis track kind of that self accountability, self coaching, self talk,
- 1:29:54Speaker 5: self speak of hey, don't lose your cool because you
- 1:29:58Speaker 5: missed a putt. You know, guess what, Look up, there's
- 1:30:03Speaker 5: a tea box right there. There's another hole where you
- 1:30:05Speaker 5: can go make that putt next time. We learned our
- 1:30:09Speaker 5: mistake here, let's go apply to this next one. We're
- 1:30:11Speaker 5: moving we're moving on, we're failing forward. We're gonna grow
- 1:30:15Speaker 5: from this.
- 1:30:16Speaker 2: I love that dynamic too, because then in time, you
- 1:30:18Speaker 2: you're gonna you're gonna build trust with these kids that
- 1:30:21Speaker 2: you're messing with it to where you'll start getting to
- 1:30:24Speaker 2: connect with the money. But like, hey, what's going on, Like.
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: What's going on you? Oh, dude, for sure, what's going
- 1:30:29Speaker 1: on in your life? For sure? Look like little moments
- 1:30:33Speaker 1: of opportunities like that seem cool and.
- 1:30:36Speaker 5: It it means way more now because Scarlett is so young,
- 1:30:44Speaker 5: and I know that like these times are quote unquote
- 1:30:48Speaker 5: easier to be a dad in those ways, and I
- 1:30:51Speaker 5: really want to hone in those skills of the preteen
- 1:30:56Speaker 5: like and so I'm really excited for that because I
- 1:30:59Speaker 5: know that that's like an age where some of that
- 1:31:02Speaker 5: can be difficult, there can be some disconnect in the
- 1:31:05Speaker 5: preteen ages and the teenager ages. And like, I'm just
- 1:31:11Speaker 5: excited for those reps. It feels like practice reps for
- 1:31:13Speaker 5: my own daughter of communication, et cetera. I like that, man,
- 1:31:19Speaker 5: It'll be fine, love that for you.
- 1:31:22Speaker 1: We've just been riffing.
- 1:31:24Speaker 5: We've been riffing, and how are we on time? Should
- 1:31:28Speaker 5: we jump into some Yeah? Yeah, okay, we're not too bad.
- 1:31:34Speaker 2: I am staring at a pt Oh yeah, Yeah, we
- 1:31:37Speaker 2: have pt fit updates. We have pt fit updates Lily
- 1:31:42Speaker 2: cut Cuddy Lily Cutty on Spotify. I'm thinking we do
- 1:31:46Speaker 2: a fundraiser for pt fit where Charlie leaves a bar
- 1:31:49Speaker 2: three class in Nashville. Question Mark, question Mark. Oh, that's
- 1:31:52Speaker 2: a phenomenal idea. I did some bar three last Friday.
- 1:31:55Speaker 2: Charros ten am class. Yeah, over off of the one,
- 1:32:00Speaker 2: the one in Paddock of a white Bridge. Yeah, teaches
- 1:32:04Speaker 2: a ten am class on Fridays that I might start
- 1:32:07Speaker 2: frequenting more. I do feel like my body responds really
- 1:32:11Speaker 2: well to it, to where I'm like feeling good. Yeah,
- 1:32:14Speaker 2: because you know, I've had a lot of low back issues,
- 1:32:17Speaker 2: just a lot of wear and tear from playing football.
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: Yeah, and it's okay ten minute, I would tell you,
- 1:32:24Speaker 1: Charles hearing this for the first time, but kind of nice.
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: It's a kind of nice vibe because I'm taking many
- 1:32:30Speaker 1: a water breaks like these women. There's a there's a
- 1:32:32Speaker 1: there's a guy that walked in and she was like
- 1:32:34Speaker 1: thirty something weeks pregnant and she's you know, there's always
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: these modifications for all the movements that you're doing.
- 1:32:40Speaker 2: Yeah, but she's in there ripping and so young, old
- 1:32:44Speaker 2: doesn't matter. All body types like they're in there and
- 1:32:47Speaker 2: they're dominating. Yeah, And I'm like, my legs, bro, you'll
- 1:32:51Speaker 2: get up on like your toes and some movies where
- 1:32:53Speaker 2: you're doing like these wall shits and you pick up
- 1:32:54Speaker 2: your toes. You're doing these pulsing squads and you're trying
- 1:32:57Speaker 2: to hold these fucking poses and I'm shaking. One of
- 1:33:00Speaker 2: my dad's favorite lines, I'm shaking like a dog shitting
- 1:33:02Speaker 2: peach seeds, and you like, I'm taking many of breaks right,
- 1:33:06Speaker 2: So in my head, I'm like, I tell you. She
- 1:33:09Speaker 2: was like, hey, how do you feel from the class?
- 1:33:11Speaker 1: Like?
- 1:33:11Speaker 2: I feel like it was a phenomenal like rehab, a
- 1:33:14Speaker 2: very intense rehab session for myself because my body feels great.
- 1:33:17Speaker 2: I feel like my body respondable real well like glose Er,
- 1:33:20Speaker 2: everything's activated core, Like I don't feel my low back
- 1:33:23Speaker 2: pain that much. So I'm like, man, I need to
- 1:33:25Speaker 2: kind of put I need to frequent. I need to
- 1:33:27Speaker 2: have this in my toolbox because it does make me
- 1:33:30Speaker 2: feel really good. But I also feel like I failed
- 1:33:32Speaker 2: because I had to take so many breaks.
- 1:33:33Speaker 1: You didn't fail, you did great.
- 1:33:36Speaker 2: And the environment vibe is like you're around a bunch
- 1:33:41Speaker 2: of dudes and you fail a lot.
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: You're getting poured on. Yeah, yeah, you.
- 1:33:45Speaker 2: Did kind of push out you did this? Did they'd
- 1:33:47Speaker 2: pat me on the ass. You're doing a great job.
- 1:33:50Speaker 1: I don't feel like I stepped away.
- 1:33:53Speaker 2: Yeah no, you crushed it, and you're just like, oh,
- 1:33:56Speaker 2: I can be around this.
- 1:33:57Speaker 5: I would hate to turn one of her classes into
- 1:34:00Speaker 5: a circus, but I think that that would be a
- 1:34:02Speaker 5: really fun vlog opportunity us.
- 1:34:05Speaker 2: Just going and doing the Bar three classes that too,
- 1:34:07Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying. And maybe the Milk Team sixers
- 1:34:10Speaker 2: that out there that might be familiar with Bar three,
- 1:34:12Speaker 2: are they taking a Bar three class? Like what an
- 1:34:14Speaker 2: opportunity to do, like a for the Dad's collab or it's.
- 1:34:18Speaker 1: You're bringing in your husband because we're gonna do it.
- 1:34:21Speaker 5: Yeah, and do you give a shout out? No, free
- 1:34:25Speaker 5: shout out because it's from an unbiased third party. One
- 1:34:28Speaker 5: of Jill's very good friends, Grace here in Nashville, takes
- 1:34:32Speaker 5: uh one of charros led Bar three classes and raves
- 1:34:38Speaker 5: about it.
- 1:34:39Speaker 1: Dude, she loves it. They they vibe with char that's
- 1:34:43Speaker 1: your white shout out at rubber band, Like, yeah, she
- 1:34:46Speaker 1: just does hey, come on, man, come hey, man, you
- 1:34:50Speaker 1: talk about my wife. Yes, she kind of got it.
- 1:34:53Speaker 2: I popped one of the balls. No, I was like
- 1:34:58Speaker 2: hitting the wall sitter. I was leaning on and all
- 1:35:00Speaker 2: of a sudden the air is.
- 1:35:01Speaker 1: Coming out, and I look back and I kind of
- 1:35:04Speaker 1: like put it down and I just grab another ball.
- 1:35:06Speaker 1: Charles just at the front of the glass. Okay, this happens, right.
- 1:35:10Speaker 1: I don't see anybody else's ball popped like they're good.
- 1:35:13Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 1:35:13Speaker 1: Yeah, Margaret's ball popped too. I just want to put
- 1:35:16Speaker 1: that out there, Margaret, I saw that sneak the ball
- 1:35:19Speaker 1: behind an old lady.
- 1:35:21Speaker 10: Hey, what she just popped the ball. Hey, Betty's ball
- 1:35:30Speaker 10: just popped.
- 1:35:31Speaker 1: Although it was.
- 1:35:32Speaker 10: All that.
- 1:35:34Speaker 1: Put it on. Put it behind the pregnant lady. He
- 1:35:37Speaker 1: put it behind the pregnant lady. Jesus, I think I
- 1:35:42Speaker 1: think of water broke. Oh, whoa, whoa. I'm I'm not
- 1:35:46Speaker 1: trying to make a big deal about this. We're anty
- 1:35:49Speaker 1: in my water bottle arounder his spot, and we got
- 1:35:51Speaker 1: to get her out of here.
- 1:35:52Speaker 5: Hey, this is such a wild note. By the way,
- 1:35:55Speaker 5: a fun empty six fact. The latest natural birth in
- 1:36:00Speaker 5: the United States was a fifty year old fifty eight
- 1:36:02Speaker 5: year old woman.
- 1:36:04Speaker 1: She did a pilates class of the day she delivered
- 1:36:07Speaker 1: some of them there them women, Bro.
- 1:36:09Speaker 2: Sick goes out there, Dude, keep the fitness and exercise
- 1:36:12Speaker 2: going all the way up.
- 1:36:13Speaker 1: Until some sick goes out there. Some Dan gablesit, guy.
- 1:36:17Speaker 5: Yes, I have vents on Spotify. This is pet Fit Boys.
- 1:36:22Speaker 5: Seventy five hard is perfect for dads. It will change
- 1:36:26Speaker 5: you both physically and mentally. I've become such a better
- 1:36:29Speaker 5: dad since I've started the program. I structure my day
- 1:36:33Speaker 5: around not missing time with the kids and wife. I
- 1:36:36Speaker 5: quickly realized that there was so much waste of time
- 1:36:38Speaker 5: in a day. Would love to be a part of
- 1:36:41Speaker 5: a seventy five hard pt fit group, which PET seventy.
- 1:36:46Speaker 2: Five hard Hard. I'm not against it. No, no, no,
- 1:36:53Speaker 2: that's true. Discipline that is seventy five hard is true.
- 1:36:56Speaker 2: It's almost like I look where I'm at now, because again,
- 1:36:59Speaker 2: the whole game is structuring right. Like I was writing,
- 1:37:02Speaker 2: I was writing down some of my updates to share
- 1:37:05Speaker 2: talk about my pet fit journey so far, and a
- 1:37:09Speaker 2: lot of this urgency has come up. Number One, I
- 1:37:11Speaker 2: was very disappointed myself over the last several months It's
- 1:37:14Speaker 2: kind of my worst stretch post career of football, of
- 1:37:17Speaker 2: not being in the weight room, not exercising, eating okay,
- 1:37:22Speaker 2: but not like holiday season destroys me. I'm very much
- 1:37:26Speaker 2: I indulge in holiday season and you go and get
- 1:37:30Speaker 2: blood work. I go to this like health three Health
- 1:37:35Speaker 2: three point oh spot called Paradigm awesome spot, basically like
- 1:37:39Speaker 2: a concierge service of everything. Think of it as like
- 1:37:43Speaker 2: you have somebody who's going through a true financial advisor
- 1:37:46Speaker 2: who goes through everything, walks with you everything else. They
- 1:37:49Speaker 2: do this like for your body through blood work Texas
- 1:37:51Speaker 2: scans your body movement. They tag an age to it,
- 1:37:55Speaker 2: like how are you moving everything? Stuff that's going on
- 1:37:59Speaker 2: old MRIs take everything all encompassing and work with you
- 1:38:02Speaker 2: because they think longevity. They think fifty years down the road,
- 1:38:06Speaker 2: not us wanting to get jacked.
- 1:38:07Speaker 1: In twenty twenty.
- 1:38:08Speaker 2: Six, yep, and my blood work in June or July,
- 1:38:14Speaker 2: I think it was June. And then my blood work
- 1:38:16Speaker 2: at the end of the year or seven months later,
- 1:38:18Speaker 2: my blood work has gotten worse. My DEXA scan has
- 1:38:21Speaker 2: gotten worse, which I knew was going to happen. I
- 1:38:24Speaker 2: joke about and you know, talk about the body fat.
- 1:38:27Speaker 2: It was like twenty seven percent the visceral grams of fat.
- 1:38:30Speaker 2: How much Charro was buying into it and got so
- 1:38:33Speaker 2: much better, Like Charles almost like in a superior range
- 1:38:36Speaker 2: of working with the group and like diving into her
- 1:38:39Speaker 2: fitness and everything.
- 1:38:39Speaker 5: Her numbers sounded like Olympic athlete type number.
- 1:38:44Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean crazy.
- 1:38:46Speaker 2: So just my wife and seeing her feedback and everything else,
- 1:38:48Speaker 2: it's almost just like a I am sick and tired
- 1:38:50Speaker 2: of being sick and tired about it, and it's almost
- 1:38:52Speaker 2: like a not like a wake up call. I'm not
- 1:38:54Speaker 2: in like an emergency situation. But my cholesterol has been high,
- 1:38:57Speaker 2: it's even higher. My vitamin levels are not that good.
- 1:39:00Speaker 2: My blood pressure has been high every time I've went in.
- 1:39:03Speaker 2: Some things could be stress inducing, some things could be genetic.
- 1:39:06Speaker 2: You kind of look at the entire picture of the
- 1:39:08Speaker 2: entire scope, and my man's been We've been working with
- 1:39:11Speaker 2: each other almost weekly now because he's like, dude, just
- 1:39:14Speaker 2: start right now until your sore. Next weight room gets
- 1:39:17Speaker 2: put in the garage. Because some of it was the excuse,
- 1:39:20Speaker 2: this is an excuse coming out of my mouth. More
- 1:39:22Speaker 2: I'm going to say some of it was moving. I
- 1:39:24Speaker 2: was moving garages and set up. So it's just an
- 1:39:26Speaker 2: excuse that I'm giving myself because there's a fucking weight
- 1:39:29Speaker 2: room that we have on our shop. But it truly
- 1:39:35Speaker 2: is structuring. It's like we've joked about our late goon
- 1:39:38Speaker 2: nights and everything else, but staying up late does hurt
- 1:39:40Speaker 2: if you're wanting to be somebody who dominates your morning,
- 1:39:42Speaker 2: because our mornings is waking up. Being up at seven
- 1:39:46Speaker 2: from seven to eight fifteen is all kid related or
- 1:39:49Speaker 2: seven thirty to eight thirties all kid related. Before we
- 1:39:51Speaker 2: get rue out of the house to school car line,
- 1:39:54Speaker 2: I'm making our lunch, I'm making breakfast, trial getting ready.
- 1:39:58Speaker 2: But we have like I have been waking up earlier.
- 1:40:00Speaker 2: In between the six and six thirty mark, I've been
- 1:40:02Speaker 2: doing So two. He's like, just start Zone two, get
- 1:40:05Speaker 2: on your assault bike. You have you have your garment
- 1:40:09Speaker 2: Zone two five sessions of thirty minutes. You need to
- 1:40:12Speaker 2: get one hundred and fifty minutes of Zone two cardio.
- 1:40:14Speaker 2: So things I've been doing is the Zone two cardio,
- 1:40:17Speaker 2: the atge or knees over TOAs guy. I love their Instagram.
- 1:40:21Speaker 2: I've bought into their program. I've had their program for years,
- 1:40:24Speaker 2: but they have They have workout structures for people who
- 1:40:28Speaker 2: want to be shredded, for people, this all the way
- 1:40:30Speaker 2: down to old people. They have body weight stuff everything. Yeah,
- 1:40:34Speaker 2: but I hit that stuff. Sauna and cold water. I
- 1:40:36Speaker 2: do twelve minutes of cold water every week, four days
- 1:40:39Speaker 2: of three minutes each, sauna eighty minutes, four sessions of
- 1:40:43Speaker 2: twenty minutes each. I'm giving this information to anybody that
- 1:40:47Speaker 2: anyone listen that wants any direction and more of like
- 1:40:49Speaker 2: I want to say it out louds because it gives
- 1:40:51Speaker 2: me like an accountability factor. I've hat seal for Sell
- 1:40:54Speaker 2: in my ear because seventy five hard comes from first
- 1:40:57Speaker 2: form eighty for Sell, the Forcella Brothers y. Yeah, and
- 1:41:01Speaker 2: he challenged me to do like a half marathon. I
- 1:41:03Speaker 2: haven't responded to him on April eleventh because I'm like,
- 1:41:05Speaker 2: you ain't getting my ass out there running that far
- 1:41:09Speaker 2: that quickly. All that stuff. The seventy five hard is awesome.
- 1:41:12Speaker 2: This say they have a seventy five soft. They have
- 1:41:14Speaker 2: all of these different regiments, but I am from what
- 1:41:17Speaker 2: our boy's saying, that's seventy five hard rips. We should
- 1:41:20Speaker 2: do a seventy five hard pet fit. I am on
- 1:41:23Speaker 2: board with that, but part of it myself is stacking
- 1:41:26Speaker 2: some of these small wins to build momentum. Because I do.
- 1:41:29Speaker 2: It's like my goals for the end of the year.
- 1:41:31Speaker 2: I'm writing them down. I want to get under a bar.
- 1:41:34Speaker 2: I haven't been under a bar because of my low
- 1:41:36Speaker 2: back in years. This states back to like twenty twenty
- 1:41:39Speaker 2: or twenty twenty one, while I was still playing football
- 1:41:41Speaker 2: because I was having back issues.
- 1:41:43Speaker 1: And that's for upper and lower body workouts like squat
- 1:41:48Speaker 1: And when.
- 1:41:48Speaker 2: I'm talking about getting under a bar, I'm talking about
- 1:41:50Speaker 2: back squatting. I have a back squatted in years. I
- 1:41:53Speaker 2: would love to because it like loads your spine and
- 1:41:56Speaker 2: everything else. But there are healthy there are progressions to
- 1:41:59Speaker 2: where I can have a healthy enough back to load
- 1:42:02Speaker 2: my back again.
- 1:42:03Speaker 1: I would love to do that. That is a goal
- 1:42:05Speaker 1: for myself.
- 1:42:06Speaker 2: I'm somebody who again within my first couple hours of
- 1:42:09Speaker 2: waking up, fifty grams of protein, and my breakfast thirty
- 1:42:12Speaker 2: grams of protein at every meal, a massive glass of
- 1:42:15Speaker 2: water when I wake up, with lemon and salt to
- 1:42:17Speaker 2: get electrolytes.
- 1:42:18Speaker 1: All of that fun stuff you can look up all
- 1:42:20Speaker 1: this stuff.
- 1:42:21Speaker 2: This is like my own walk, my own journey communicating
- 1:42:23Speaker 2: to PT six PT fit. As we're going on this,
- 1:42:27Speaker 2: a part of me does one is like flip the
- 1:42:29Speaker 2: switch when the sore next gym gets put in.
- 1:42:31Speaker 1: I do want to flip the switch.
- 1:42:33Speaker 2: I would love to fucking challenge myself to a seventy
- 1:42:35Speaker 2: five hard because that shit does seem awesome and seems
- 1:42:38Speaker 2: very very good for you. Because a lot of the rules,
- 1:42:41Speaker 2: I think we went over them last week. But it's
- 1:42:42Speaker 2: like a five step, five boxes checked in the day
- 1:42:46Speaker 2: where you're getting a couple of workouts in one of
- 1:42:47Speaker 2: them's outdoors, you're getting a gallon of water, You're reading
- 1:42:51Speaker 2: ten minutes of a personal development book I would love
- 1:42:53Speaker 2: in the PT fit universe. Maybe it's a book in
- 1:42:56Speaker 2: the personal development phase, but also more Taylor to Parenthood,
- 1:43:01Speaker 2: a parenting book. What else I aim for my body
- 1:43:06Speaker 2: weight in grams of protein, but blood work, decks of scans.
- 1:43:11Speaker 2: I have bar three last Friday, shouting out Bar three
- 1:43:14Speaker 2: and giving my wife's love because I did enjoy doing
- 1:43:16Speaker 2: the class. I do think the bar three for the
- 1:43:19Speaker 2: dad's clap would be fun. But I'm very much invested
- 1:43:23Speaker 2: in this pet fit idea. And I do feel like
- 1:43:27Speaker 2: step one is being vulnerable talking about my shortcomings where
- 1:43:30Speaker 2: I'm at.
- 1:43:31Speaker 1: I need to.
- 1:43:31Speaker 2: Fucking take a photo myself, because it's like I'll look
- 1:43:34Speaker 2: in the mirror and I'm like, dude.
- 1:43:35Speaker 1: You were I'll look at old photos.
- 1:43:38Speaker 5: My man, you were looking at that one the other
- 1:43:41Speaker 5: day with George at Taylor's wedding.
- 1:43:43Speaker 1: Yeah, and he was talking.
- 1:43:44Speaker 2: About my neck and like, well used to look. I'm like,
- 1:43:46Speaker 2: I know, and I'm laughing. But it's also like, dude,
- 1:43:49Speaker 2: we give ourselves. I'll speak for myself. I give myself
- 1:43:52Speaker 2: the reasoning of I'm thirty six, I'm still young.
- 1:43:55Speaker 1: I have time.
- 1:43:56Speaker 2: You got a lot going on, Yeah, you have family dynamic,
- 1:43:59Speaker 2: you have work, you have a lot of moving parts,
- 1:44:02Speaker 2: and so I give myself those outs, right, Or I'll
- 1:44:04Speaker 2: stay up late and play video games, like it's my
- 1:44:07Speaker 2: time to be social, it's my time to have fun.
- 1:44:09Speaker 2: I'm gonna say up a little later because I can
- 1:44:11Speaker 2: sleep till seven instead of like, Bro, Willie Boy, you know, man,
- 1:44:17Speaker 2: you want to get up earlier. You have to nix
- 1:44:21Speaker 2: this off the fucking docket. Or if you do want
- 1:44:24Speaker 2: to play video games, bro structure it out from like
- 1:44:26Speaker 2: eight thirty to ten. Yeah, if you're dying to play
- 1:44:29Speaker 2: video games or you're dying to watch TV shows. Yeah,
- 1:44:32Speaker 2: these are like the conversations I'm having with myself. All
- 1:44:38Speaker 2: to say, beat fit, I'm fucking on board. I don't
- 1:44:42Speaker 2: even know what I'm trying to say. I'm more just
- 1:44:44Speaker 2: you're in word vomiting. I am feeling inspired.
- 1:44:48Speaker 5: Jill and I also inspired with the ptfit movement just
- 1:44:54Speaker 5: from I don't want to speak too much on Jill's stuff.
- 1:44:59Speaker 1: I feel like I could share it with Jill stuff.
- 1:45:01Speaker 5: She's basically wanting to get fit to try and avoid
- 1:45:05Speaker 5: some of those just stational diabetes, some of the high
- 1:45:12Speaker 5: blood pressure stuff with our next pregnancy. So she has
- 1:45:16Speaker 5: a weight goal that I basically matched thirty pounds by
- 1:45:22Speaker 5: the end of this year as just our goal of
- 1:45:25Speaker 5: what we're going to work towards for kid number two,
- 1:45:29Speaker 5: if we are to try and move towards kid number two.
- 1:45:32Speaker 5: She wants to get into a healthy arrange. I obviously
- 1:45:35Speaker 5: want to get into a healthy arrange because you know,
- 1:45:39Speaker 5: we joked about me being at the doctor or we
- 1:45:42Speaker 5: both went to the doctor and they took our blood pressure. Yeah,
- 1:45:46Speaker 5: more than twice yep, and you're sitting there like, oh,
- 1:45:48Speaker 5: it might be the wrong coff and my different coughs
- 1:45:51Speaker 5: this and that. Yeah, and do you have coffee this morning?
- 1:45:55Speaker 5: Did not have coffee this morning?
- 1:45:57Speaker 1: Oh?
- 1:45:58Speaker 5: And like seeing her face to the answer of no,
- 1:46:00Speaker 5: I didn't have any caffeine but yeah, and having the
- 1:46:07Speaker 5: goal of running a four hundred meter in under sixty seconds,
- 1:46:12Speaker 5: A lot needs to happen for that, A regiment needs
- 1:46:15Speaker 5: to happen for that. So I haven't implemented anything like
- 1:46:20Speaker 5: you're talking about, but I'm excited for it.
- 1:46:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:46:24Speaker 2: There's like because now my wife is on me about
- 1:46:27Speaker 2: stuff and she's been an awesome like accountability like we were.
- 1:46:30Speaker 2: We got up this morning and went through like a
- 1:46:32Speaker 2: flow session that bar three offers online, like yoga, stretching
- 1:46:36Speaker 2: out against getting some mobility and the joints and everything else.
- 1:46:39Speaker 1: And it's awesome.
- 1:46:41Speaker 2: But it's like my dog hit me up like on
- 1:46:45Speaker 2: a Sunday night, or maybe it was wait, what's what's
- 1:46:48Speaker 2: the day?
- 1:46:48Speaker 1: Tuesday? Tuesday?
- 1:46:49Speaker 2: So Sunday night, hit me up at like eight thirty
- 1:46:51Speaker 2: pm in an email. It's like, Hey, going through your
- 1:46:54Speaker 2: blood work that I most recently took. Nothing is an emergency,
- 1:46:58Speaker 2: but would love to get on the phone this weekend.
- 1:47:00Speaker 2: I keep through some things because you're cholesterol over things
- 1:47:03Speaker 2: involving your cholesterol and your vitamin levels, and so I
- 1:47:08Speaker 2: tell that to charro hers go up because it's like,
- 1:47:11Speaker 2: you know, you think about the kids, you think about
- 1:47:12Speaker 2: the family, like, hey, there's nothing that is pressing, but
- 1:47:17Speaker 2: you can just tell by the tone and the intention
- 1:47:20Speaker 2: and him following up and everything else, because I've worked
- 1:47:22Speaker 2: with him now for I'll be coming up on a
- 1:47:24Speaker 2: year here in a few months, but you want to
- 1:47:28Speaker 2: start sacking some progress after seven months. You don't want
- 1:47:31Speaker 2: to see the meter go the other way, which I
- 1:47:34Speaker 2: knew was going to happen.
- 1:47:36Speaker 1: And I was telling him.
- 1:47:37Speaker 2: I was being frank with him because he's like, tell me, like,
- 1:47:39Speaker 2: what's on your mind? And I word vomited in a
- 1:47:44Speaker 2: lot of stuff and kind of recapped our year, our season,
- 1:47:46Speaker 2: all the things we did, all the things with family,
- 1:47:49Speaker 2: all that kind of stuff, and him just wanting to
- 1:47:55Speaker 2: kind of walk with me more on. He's like, how
- 1:47:57Speaker 2: do we get some structure in place to where some
- 1:47:59Speaker 2: of the things maybe you might be working, but you
- 1:48:01Speaker 2: can accomplish some of these things at work. Yeah, and
- 1:48:04Speaker 2: I ultimately tell him I'm like, part of me coming
- 1:48:07Speaker 2: in is almost ashamed of coming in because you feel
- 1:48:11Speaker 2: like you disappoint the you disappoint the authority. The authority
- 1:48:20Speaker 2: in my brain is you. I feel like a lot
- 1:48:23Speaker 2: of that has to do with being in a performance
- 1:48:25Speaker 2: based world with football and everything else, because you never
- 1:48:28Speaker 2: want to let your coach down, You never want to
- 1:48:30Speaker 2: let your family down, you never want to let yourself done.
- 1:48:32Speaker 1: And when I know I'm doing that, part.
- 1:48:35Speaker 2: Of me punts the meetings and calling back and text
- 1:48:39Speaker 2: because I know I'm not putting in the work that
- 1:48:43Speaker 2: I'm proud of. So if that's happening with me, it's
- 1:48:47Speaker 2: not anything against them. It's like I'm just being vulnerable
- 1:48:50Speaker 2: and just saying, like part of me gets ashamed to
- 1:48:52Speaker 2: come in and talk about all this stuff.
- 1:48:54Speaker 5: Yeah, you have a humongous external force of being an
- 1:48:59Speaker 5: ex NFL football player on yours, whereas like somebody sees
- 1:49:04Speaker 5: a picture of me and they're not gonna be like, oh,
- 1:49:06Speaker 5: Sherman kind of let himself go, if that makes sense. Yeah,
- 1:49:10Speaker 5: Like because I wasn't that like level of peak athleticism,
- 1:49:17Speaker 5: So like that external pressure isn't there as much for me,
- 1:49:20Speaker 5: but the internal pressure is very much there for me
- 1:49:25Speaker 5: of like, yeah, even as it means to happen. Yeah,
- 1:49:29Speaker 5: and I get.
- 1:49:29Speaker 2: That that stuff can be quote unquote real, but some
- 1:49:32Speaker 2: of the external stuff that we're talking about is truly
- 1:49:35Speaker 2: just assumptive.
- 1:49:37Speaker 1: It's just what we're telling ourselves.
- 1:49:40Speaker 7: A quote I just saw online that I really love
- 1:49:43Speaker 7: dealing with that kind of stuff is being healthy and
- 1:49:47Speaker 7: getting in shape is not an obstacle.
- 1:49:49Speaker 1: It's actually the solution.
- 1:49:51Speaker 7: So I've been telling myself that would just like with
- 1:49:53Speaker 7: external stresses and whatever may come up, is like, hey,
- 1:49:56Speaker 7: when you go work out or when you're eating, well,
- 1:49:58Speaker 7: you make a good decision, Like that is not an
- 1:49:59Speaker 7: obstac well, you're actually you're working towards the solution. And
- 1:50:02Speaker 7: that's one that I've been kind of the last two
- 1:50:05Speaker 7: weeks been going at. It's been really nice.
- 1:50:07Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:50:08Speaker 2: It reminds you of the Book of Atomic Habits. I
- 1:50:10Speaker 2: know that's like a massive bestseller, but it's like strioping
- 1:50:12Speaker 2: yourself of the idea of an outcome, and it really
- 1:50:17Speaker 2: just comes down to what your daily habits are. You
- 1:50:19Speaker 2: change your daily habits, you change everything.
- 1:50:22Speaker 1: Yeah, but share with you, guys, Share with the audience.
- 1:50:27Speaker 1: I love that.
- 1:50:28Speaker 5: I know I need to get a full breakdown of
- 1:50:31Speaker 5: daily regimen and daily routine that I'll apply for myself.
- 1:50:36Speaker 5: One starter is just non negotiable and one that I've
- 1:50:40Speaker 5: been kicking myself is walking the dogs every morning, every night,
- 1:50:44Speaker 5: because that needs to happen, and I'll just do the
- 1:50:48Speaker 5: lazy freight yard. Hey, go get them. Yeah, but it's
- 1:50:52Speaker 5: easy that like when you're talking about like eating the elephant,
- 1:50:55Speaker 5: one by day at a time, stacking wins the easiest
- 1:50:59Speaker 5: win to stat because I need to be doing it.
- 1:51:02Speaker 5: And then on the weekends too, of Jill and I
- 1:51:04Speaker 5: prioritizing doing walks with Scarlet, getting outside, not just sitting
- 1:51:09Speaker 5: around the.
- 1:51:09Speaker 1: House watching movies. But yeah, I'm excited. Yeah, yeah, it
- 1:51:16Speaker 1: all correlates too.
- 1:51:17Speaker 2: We're obviously talking about fitness, but this is to me
- 1:51:19Speaker 2: in every area that you have, every bucket that you
- 1:51:23Speaker 2: have with fitness, self, of work, marriage, parenthood, we all
- 1:51:32Speaker 2: have the idea. We all know you know what I mean, Like,
- 1:51:36Speaker 2: we know the answers. We just we get scared to
- 1:51:39Speaker 2: look that close in the mirror. Yeah, because we get
- 1:51:44Speaker 2: disappointed in ourselves.
- 1:51:45Speaker 5: Yeah, and there's always the excuse of tomorrow is like
- 1:51:50Speaker 5: the big excuse for me of like couple therapy. Like
- 1:51:56Speaker 5: I'm a huge believer in couples therapy. It's like, why
- 1:51:59Speaker 5: hasn't been established? Jill's a huge believer in that. Yeah,
- 1:52:05Speaker 5: sitting down and having like a full Excel spreadsheet breakdown
- 1:52:09Speaker 5: of finances, Jill and I getting a joint account, a
- 1:52:12Speaker 5: joint savings account, like all those little things where it's like, well,
- 1:52:17Speaker 5: it's been a really it's been a really busy month
- 1:52:20Speaker 5: and we've been there's a lot going on.
- 1:52:23Speaker 1: We'll get to it. It's gonna get done.
- 1:52:25Speaker 5: Yeah, there's wrap boop on the thing, Like I'll go
- 1:52:27Speaker 5: get traps tomorrow at home depot and I'll set the
- 1:52:31Speaker 5: traps out. Like everything starts stacking on each other. But
- 1:52:36Speaker 5: it's everybody says like make your bed is like because
- 1:52:40Speaker 5: that's the very first thing you do when it's you know,
- 1:52:43Speaker 5: catch a small dove.
- 1:52:44Speaker 1: Catch a small dove. I told you when I was.
- 1:52:48Speaker 5: In bed for like a month depressed and we touched
- 1:52:52Speaker 5: on this like at the very I think this was
- 1:52:54Speaker 5: like pre Derek, like one of our very first episodes.
- 1:52:59Speaker 5: That was what my thrapists told me when I was
- 1:53:01Speaker 5: just like literally trapped in my own head and laying
- 1:53:04Speaker 5: in bed not getting out of bed for a full month.
- 1:53:08Speaker 5: He's like, get up, make your bed, shower, and put
- 1:53:11Speaker 5: a nice outfit on that that somebody's gonna see you in,
- 1:53:16Speaker 5: because then you might as well just leave the house
- 1:53:19Speaker 5: if you look nice, you might as well, you know,
- 1:53:22Speaker 5: go apply for that job that you've been wanting to
- 1:53:25Speaker 5: apply for.
- 1:53:25Speaker 1: You might as well like all the big goals. Yeah,
- 1:53:32Speaker 1: it's not a dan Gable but an Apollo Creed. There
- 1:53:36Speaker 1: is no tomorrow. There is no tomorrow. There is no tomorrow. Tomorrow, tomorrow. No,
- 1:53:45Speaker 1: that's what you're wrong, man, Fuck you get the pist
- 1:53:51Speaker 1: just follow the echo of the little basement gym that
- 1:53:54Speaker 1: they're yeah tomorrow. And he's hitting the walls and he
- 1:53:58Speaker 1: looks up in the mirror. Hmhm uh Do we want
- 1:54:02Speaker 1: to right?
- 1:54:05Speaker 7: Do?
- 1:54:06Speaker 1: We don't want to lose what I got? Yes? Yeah,
- 1:54:11Speaker 1: let's hit the voice. We're still under an hour. We're
- 1:54:13Speaker 1: still under an hour.
- 1:54:14Speaker 5: Six on one of the dads for a reminder, and
- 1:54:16Speaker 5: then you can write in six on one of the
- 1:54:18Speaker 5: dads at gmail dot com.
- 1:54:21Speaker 1: This is our first one. It is dating advice for
- 1:54:24Speaker 1: for PT. Six what's going on?
- 1:54:31Speaker 8: Boys love the show. Just got a quick question. My
- 1:54:35Speaker 8: son just finished with his rugby season and it's co ed.
- 1:54:40Speaker 8: One of the girls came up to him and asked
- 1:54:42Speaker 8: him for his number.
- 1:54:44Speaker 9: Mind you, he's only eleven.
- 1:54:46Speaker 1: What do I do?
- 1:54:49Speaker 8: That advice would help?
- 1:54:51Speaker 1: All right, guys, have a blessed day. He wrapped up
- 1:54:54Speaker 1: what he just finished the He said, it's the rugby season.
- 1:54:58Speaker 1: The rugby season. Okay. Co ed team.
- 1:55:02Speaker 5: Teammate comes up to him, says, hey, you mind if
- 1:55:04Speaker 5: I get those ten digits?
- 1:55:10Speaker 1: Kids got game? Sons got game, kids got game. No,
- 1:55:14Speaker 1: we're talking about an eleven year old.
- 1:55:15Speaker 5: We are talking about someone's sweet little eleven year old
- 1:55:19Speaker 5: little boy. First off, huge w that a girl is
- 1:55:29Speaker 5: approaching your son to ask him for his number.
- 1:55:32Speaker 1: What confidence? I think that's a huge w for both
- 1:55:36Speaker 1: of those parents.
- 1:55:38Speaker 2: What advice would you go? Okay, eleven years old, that's
- 1:55:41Speaker 2: what fifth grade?
- 1:55:43Speaker 1: Yeah, fifth I will ish I doing at eleven, because.
- 1:55:48Speaker 2: Dude, it's like the phone game is kind of out
- 1:55:51Speaker 2: of my wheelhouse right now because I'm not going through it, obviously,
- 1:55:54Speaker 2: I'm doing whatever I can to kind of prepare for it.
- 1:55:57Speaker 2: I come across a lot of stuff with technology and
- 1:56:00Speaker 2: when should they have a phone?
- 1:56:01Speaker 1: When they should not? All of these there's there's there's
- 1:56:04Speaker 1: a massive there's a lot of opinions on it. Yeah,
- 1:56:07Speaker 1: so I want to be careful there.
- 1:56:10Speaker 5: Also, I know that there's like the romantic side of this,
- 1:56:16Speaker 5: but like she did, just ask for his number, could
- 1:56:19Speaker 5: mean nothing exactly because again, there were they're young, I
- 1:56:23Speaker 5: mean there were you.
- 1:56:23Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, but if I had a crush Tricia
- 1:56:28Speaker 2: Hartrup was her name, was fifth or sixth grade, I
- 1:56:32Speaker 2: might have been a fifth grader. She was a sixth grader,
- 1:56:35Speaker 2: and you know, you want to have a boyfriend or
- 1:56:38Speaker 2: a girlfriend at that age. What my parents would do
- 1:56:42Speaker 2: because that was landline back then. Yeah, but if we
- 1:56:47Speaker 2: wanted to like hang out or anything, it would be
- 1:56:50Speaker 2: at the movies with a parent.
- 1:56:52Speaker 1: Yeah you know what I mean, Like, okay, at the
- 1:56:55Speaker 1: mall with a parent. Yeah.
- 1:56:58Speaker 2: Yes, if they want to hang out outside of school
- 1:57:00Speaker 2: or rugby parental supervision. Yeah, dude, the girl wants his number.
- 1:57:06Speaker 2: I don't know what the intention is, like, wants his number.
- 1:57:08Speaker 1: To hang out? Uh huh? Are they the same age?
- 1:57:11Speaker 1: Is she a year older? She's a couple of years older.
- 1:57:14Speaker 2: Yeah, But it's like both of the parents of the
- 1:57:18Speaker 2: two kids being on the same page to a do
- 1:57:21Speaker 2: they want to go see a movie? Yeah, which one
- 1:57:24Speaker 2: of us wants to go chaperon them, pick them up,
- 1:57:27Speaker 2: drive them, go to the movie, sit in the movie
- 1:57:29Speaker 2: with them.
- 1:57:31Speaker 1: And just if you're allowing that to even happen.
- 1:57:34Speaker 2: So like I had friends were you know, friends that
- 1:57:38Speaker 2: were girls and their parents wouldn't let them date or
- 1:57:41Speaker 2: anything until they were like a certain age.
- 1:57:42Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:57:43Speaker 2: So again, this is a this is a topic that
- 1:57:45Speaker 2: has a lot of different opinions. My own experience when
- 1:57:49Speaker 2: I was a fifth birder and it had a crush
- 1:57:51Speaker 2: and wanted a girlfriend. If we were going to hang
- 1:57:53Speaker 2: out outside of exchanging notes in the hallway at school,
- 1:57:56Speaker 2: it would be one of our parents picking us up
- 1:57:59Speaker 2: to go sit at the movie with us.
- 1:58:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:58:01Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, So I my addition to your like how to.
- 1:58:07Speaker 1: Do it, it would be.
- 1:58:09Speaker 5: The awesome opportunity that this boy dad has of that
- 1:58:14Speaker 5: pregame talk and some other conversations with son about respecting women. Yeah,
- 1:58:21Speaker 5: making you say, making it a fun environment. Things we
- 1:58:25Speaker 5: don't say, things we do say, things that we do
- 1:58:28Speaker 5: when we're hanging out with girls. How we treat girls,
- 1:58:30Speaker 5: how we court them, how we court them. Because as crazy.
- 1:58:35Speaker 1: As this sounds, Jill, my now wife, who's thirty, I
- 1:58:40Speaker 1: know from her talking about this guy that her little
- 1:58:44Speaker 1: fifth and sixth grade boyfriend crush was the quote unquote
- 1:58:48Speaker 1: sweetest guy ever.
- 1:58:49Speaker 5: Sherman, you would have loved him. And that guy was
- 1:58:52Speaker 5: just the little fifth and sixth grade boyfriend. But look
- 1:58:55Speaker 5: at the impact that that had on Jill of a
- 1:58:57Speaker 5: picture of that's a good that's a bottle of a
- 1:59:00Speaker 5: good man. How I should be treated. Was my fifth
- 1:59:03Speaker 5: and sixth grade boyfriend that never tried anything, never inappropriate,
- 1:59:07Speaker 5: always sweet. And I now you know she thinks highly
- 1:59:11Speaker 5: of me because I'm her husband, but she equates me
- 1:59:13Speaker 5: to him. Is like, y'all would be besties. Like y'all
- 1:59:17Speaker 5: Like he's such a great guy. Da da da, And
- 1:59:20Speaker 5: that's really cool. The little opportunity that, as small as
- 1:59:23Speaker 5: it seems.
- 1:59:25Speaker 2: That is a great point, honestly, because again, we don't
- 1:59:27Speaker 2: know the full Yeah, number one, we don't know the
- 1:59:30Speaker 2: full context of this situation. Yeah, they're just trying to
- 1:59:32Speaker 2: play video games, Like is it exactly friend? Do they
- 1:59:36Speaker 2: like each other? Do they have a crush? If they
- 1:59:38Speaker 2: do and you're cool with them going to do the
- 1:59:40Speaker 2: movie example, or any of the examples, but to your level,
- 1:59:43Speaker 2: which I think is phenomenal. The opportunity of teaching your
- 1:59:48Speaker 2: son the manners, the courtship, the game of how we
- 1:59:53Speaker 2: respect women.
- 1:59:54Speaker 5: Howat yeah, how you treat your friends there are women,
- 1:59:57Speaker 5: so that when you know that she's all fit college,
- 2:00:01Speaker 5: she can't think back and go.
- 2:00:03Speaker 1: My friend Brandon would never do that. Yeah, never say yeah,
- 2:00:06Speaker 1: good shit, bro, let's go.
- 2:00:09Speaker 5: Oh speaking of uh, steak and BJ Buddy is our
- 2:00:14Speaker 5: second voice.
- 2:00:15Speaker 1: There we go talk about all that. Let's get back
- 2:00:18Speaker 1: to the old job. What up?
- 2:00:26Speaker 11: Fellas Caleb from Montana here not a dad, but a
- 2:00:30Speaker 11: twenty two year old listener, loved the show last night.
- 2:00:33Speaker 11: As I'm sitting here getting ready for church, I'm realizing
- 2:00:36Speaker 11: it's uh the fifteenth. If you guys know, yesterday, hopefully
- 2:00:40Speaker 11: you guys cashed in on steak and blowjob day.
- 2:00:44Speaker 8: Well.
- 2:00:44Speaker 11: As a single fella, I didn't really have any expectations
- 2:00:47Speaker 11: for this day, but then last night I got a
- 2:00:49Speaker 11: random text from one of my best friends saying, Hey,
- 2:00:52Speaker 11: you want to come over for sam Antelope Steaks? Of course?
- 2:00:55Speaker 11: Any good guy friend. Yeah, I'm there for some steaks.
- 2:00:59Speaker 11: Luckily the old job done, so I didn't come with
- 2:01:02Speaker 11: it because it was just me and him. There mistakes
- 2:01:05Speaker 11: that would have been a little weird. But I'm not
- 2:01:07Speaker 11: sure if he's hitting at anything. I don't know if
- 2:01:09Speaker 11: he's a listener of the pod. So I just thought
- 2:01:12Speaker 11: it was pretty funny this morning, going shit, I just
- 2:01:14Speaker 11: went over to my best friend's house. That's a guy,
- 2:01:17Speaker 11: just us two for steak and blow job day. Hopefull
- 2:01:19Speaker 11: The neighbors didn't think anything of it, see you boys.
- 2:01:23Speaker 5: And it's all you know, it's all about optics in
- 2:01:25Speaker 5: a situation like that, it's all about optics.
- 2:01:29Speaker 2: I love that this st six are called in Yeah, dude,
- 2:01:33Speaker 2: and the assumption, like hope, the neighbors didn't think anything.
- 2:01:35Speaker 1: Like the neighbors are also big fans of the pod.
- 2:01:38Speaker 2: Yeah, you're looking at the wind. Oh but you see
- 2:01:41Speaker 2: Tim going over to John's house. I see him grilling
- 2:01:44Speaker 2: steaks in the backyard. You think, no, Tim, There's no way.
- 2:01:50Speaker 1: I see Tim wearing a BT six shirt. No, not Tim.
- 2:01:56Speaker 1: Not in Montana was the most Montana thing in the
- 2:02:03Speaker 1: entire world. And hey, if you we ain't against anything,
- 2:02:08Speaker 1: we ain't. No, no, no, no, no, we aint John No.
- 2:02:11Speaker 1: If they did, you know, a happy steak day? Yeah,
- 2:02:14Speaker 1: if they had been a happy Steak and BJ day,
- 2:02:16Speaker 1: Happy steak and b J. Look look, buddy, listen on
- 2:02:20Speaker 1: this side of the mountain. You know I hear you
- 2:02:23Speaker 1: in Montana. Yeah, broke back, broke back mountain. I love
- 2:02:28Speaker 1: that our brain. Thank you. That was a.
- 2:02:30Speaker 6: Beautiful night that he thought of this on the way
- 2:02:32Speaker 6: to church. That was my favorite party.
- 2:02:35Speaker 2: Excuse me, father, can I get a confession? Can I
- 2:02:37Speaker 2: get you in the confession room?
- 2:02:40Speaker 1: Yes? My son going do nothing, but just the sin
- 2:02:43Speaker 1: was weighing on me. How many ounces was the antelope steak?
- 2:02:48Speaker 1: My son, I don't know. It was like a tenderloin.
- 2:02:51Speaker 1: It was probably like eight ounces. Daniel Mary's.
- 2:03:00Speaker 5: Thank you father. That's incredible. I get to take a
- 2:03:05Speaker 5: road trip is our third and last voice.
- 2:03:09Speaker 9: Now, Hey, what's up boys? Joe Philadelphia? First time, long time.
- 2:03:16Speaker 9: I'm calling on a road trip to get my road
- 2:03:18Speaker 9: trip badge. Today taking my daughter three months old and
- 2:03:22Speaker 9: my dog, my Puffy Bo two years old, from Philadelphia
- 2:03:26Speaker 9: to New Hampshire. I get to stop every two hours
- 2:03:30Speaker 9: to feed her with a bottle. I get to turn
- 2:03:34Speaker 9: a five hour drive into a seven hour drive. I
- 2:03:37Speaker 9: get to do all of this just so that way
- 2:03:39Speaker 9: my wife she has to she has to take some sacrifices.
- 2:03:42Speaker 9: She has to go into the office.
- 2:03:44Speaker 1: So today she's.
- 2:03:46Speaker 9: Probably gonna have to go to brunch with the girls.
- 2:03:48Speaker 9: She's probably gonna have to eat ice cream tonight without
- 2:03:53Speaker 9: me on the couch before bed.
- 2:03:56Speaker 1: She's gonna have to do those things. She's gonna have
- 2:03:58Speaker 1: to make those sacrifices.
- 2:04:00Speaker 9: Yeah, but I get to go on a road trip
- 2:04:03Speaker 9: with my three month old daughter. Stop every two hours
- 2:04:06Speaker 9: on a drive that I normally can just do straight
- 2:04:08Speaker 9: through without stopping for gas. But I get to peter
- 2:04:12Speaker 9: that bottle every two hours. I give you guys an updates.
- 2:04:15Speaker 9: A fie managed to stay this positive for the rest
- 2:04:18Speaker 9: of the ride, Thank you, and stays m Stay hard, man.
- 2:04:24Speaker 1: Stay hard.
- 2:04:25Speaker 5: He gets to clean the poop that seeps out of
- 2:04:28Speaker 5: the diaper because you forgot to change it at the
- 2:04:30Speaker 5: last bottle feed.
- 2:04:31Speaker 2: You get to listen on the same song on repeat
- 2:04:34Speaker 2: if you have a lullaby go to and you need
- 2:04:38Speaker 2: the little one to fall.
- 2:04:39Speaker 5: Asleep, yeah, or the shusher will. Have you ever had
- 2:04:42Speaker 5: the pleasure of a road trip with the shusher.
- 2:04:46Speaker 1: Tell me more s oh with the white non, Oh,
- 2:04:52Speaker 1: it's actually going or you're the susher.
- 2:04:55Speaker 5: No, it's a nice little it's on repeat. It's a
- 2:04:57Speaker 5: nice little ten hour shusher.
- 2:05:00Speaker 1: That is. It's great for any road traveling. You get
- 2:05:03Speaker 1: to listen to that. If the kiddo's in the back,
- 2:05:09Speaker 1: good news, who knows. I hope everything went well. Yeah yeah,
- 2:05:13Speaker 1: but getting to with the three month old compared to
- 2:05:16Speaker 1: one a little bit older when it gets harder to travel, yeah,
- 2:05:19Speaker 1: you do. There there's some silver lining there. I was
- 2:05:22Speaker 1: about to say, if he because I've been on some
- 2:05:24Speaker 1: sicko road trips and I'm looking at you, Scotty. If
- 2:05:28Speaker 1: you can time it with sleep, that's we've talked about this,
- 2:05:32Speaker 1: Dad hack. You're right, you are one thousand percent. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 2:05:37Speaker 1: but sometimes ship hits the ship hits the fan and
- 2:05:41Speaker 1: it doesn't go according to plan. Yeah yeah, yeah, and
- 2:05:44Speaker 1: Scotty's one of them. Scotty's got her dad in her.
- 2:05:51Speaker 1: He got that competent, but you got that a get
- 2:05:52Speaker 1: mentality when she's strapped in that car seat.
- 2:05:55Speaker 7: Bro.
- 2:05:56Speaker 2: Matter of fact, you just fucking it wasn't five hours
- 2:05:58Speaker 2: or seven hours. It was thirty minutes. We went to
- 2:06:03Speaker 2: Parenne down in Franklin last Thursday, I believe, maybe it
- 2:06:08Speaker 2: was a Thursday, maybe.
- 2:06:11Speaker 1: It was a Wednesday.
- 2:06:13Speaker 2: And had a wonderful dinner, had a wonderful meal, Parenne
- 2:06:17Speaker 2: great food. Went there for dinner, Yeah, got me some
- 2:06:21Speaker 2: steak and fries, and on the way home, I had
- 2:06:26Speaker 2: the obviously drove ruined Scotti there to me mom. Mama
- 2:06:30Speaker 2: was doing her her I think paradigm check in, so
- 2:06:35Speaker 2: her health check in, and met her at the restaurant.
- 2:06:40Speaker 2: Restaurant was great. On the way home, we were gonna
- 2:06:43Speaker 2: split both kiddos. We were wonder to have Mama. I'll take Scotty.
- 2:06:48Speaker 2: Scotti is such a mama's girl right now. She is
- 2:06:50Speaker 2: such a mama's girl. Loves Mama, dude. She loves her
- 2:06:54Speaker 2: dad too, But it's I'm talking glued to him. Mama
- 2:06:57Speaker 2: is the answer. Mam is the safe space. Mam is
- 2:06:59Speaker 2: the salution. She missed Mom the entire thirty minutes. I'm
- 2:07:05Speaker 2: talking screaming bloody murder in the truck, dude, and I'm
- 2:07:10Speaker 2: throwing all seven different kinds of smoke yeah to her.
- 2:07:13Speaker 2: Eventually I lost my shit.
- 2:07:16Speaker 1: Scotty, you gotta shut up. Might not have been shut up,
- 2:07:22Speaker 1: but it's like, you gotta stop crying. Come on, man,
- 2:07:26Speaker 1: work with me.
- 2:07:30Speaker 2: Ah, dude, I couldn't take it, of course, pulling my
- 2:07:34Speaker 2: phone text a wife, Scotty's losing it.
- 2:07:36Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:07:38Speaker 2: I hold the entire way home. Then I get out, park,
- 2:07:45Speaker 2: truck goes off. She stops crying when the truck goes
- 2:07:47Speaker 2: off another car. I look back at her. She's got,
- 2:07:49Speaker 2: you know, the tears, her welted eyes, the saddest thing
- 2:07:52Speaker 2: in the world. Pull her out, kind of like a
- 2:07:56Speaker 2: jerk motion to get her out, and like just set
- 2:07:57Speaker 2: her on the ground while I get the backpack and
- 2:07:59Speaker 2: everything else.
- 2:08:00Speaker 1: I'm pissed. Yeah, yeah, because I'm like, dude, what the
- 2:08:02Speaker 1: fuck are we doing? Man? Like I'm dropped delivery apparently. Yeah, dude,
- 2:08:07Speaker 1: we're gonna get home. You're gonna see mom again. Yeah,
- 2:08:09Speaker 1: pick her up, going, set her on the kitchen counter.
- 2:08:12Speaker 1: I sit on the kitchen counter. It's silent in the house.
- 2:08:14Speaker 1: Feel waffle down on my feet, and I'm just looking
- 2:08:17Speaker 1: at Scotty. I'm like, dude, what was that? What are
- 2:08:20Speaker 1: you doing? We're home?
- 2:08:21Speaker 2: I told you we're coming home. Yeah, like, dude, we're
- 2:08:25Speaker 2: beefing right now. Yeah, told her straight up. I'm like,
- 2:08:28Speaker 2: when mom gets home, I'm telling this to Scotti. When
- 2:08:30Speaker 2: Mom gets home, I'm giving her the bottle, and I'm like,
- 2:08:33Speaker 2: you got Scotti because I'm done with you. Yeah, I
- 2:08:37Speaker 2: can't talk to you right now. I don't negotiate with Terry. Yeah,
- 2:08:41Speaker 2: guess what you're being right now.
- 2:08:44Speaker 5: Also, I don't I don't say this to pick on you.
- 2:08:47Speaker 5: I say this because it was really fun to get
- 2:08:49Speaker 5: to see it. I've never seen you lose yourself ever,
- 2:08:54Speaker 5: like upset wise, and I saw a hint of it
- 2:08:58Speaker 5: at the zoo when you were trying to hand Rude
- 2:09:01Speaker 5: the beef jerky stick the beefstick.
- 2:09:04Speaker 1: Do you remember that? Were we about to get on
- 2:09:06Speaker 1: the train? You know?
- 2:09:07Speaker 5: Wait, it was actually right after the train and you
- 2:09:11Speaker 5: had said like four times in a row, rue beefstick, beastick,
- 2:09:16Speaker 5: rue beefstick. And I think she may have been talking
- 2:09:19Speaker 5: to me.
- 2:09:20Speaker 1: Yeah, I think she's probably telling you the story she
- 2:09:22Speaker 1: told me a story. You just go after the fourth one,
- 2:09:27Speaker 1: you go for the love of God, and she finally
- 2:09:34Speaker 1: took it from me, and you go and just hearing
- 2:09:38Speaker 1: that tone in your voice made giggle. Dude, it was
- 2:09:41Speaker 1: so funny. I lost in the trunk.
- 2:09:43Speaker 2: It was like a sling. It was like a five
- 2:09:45Speaker 2: second moment. You do the thing, you turn up the music.
- 2:09:50Speaker 2: You'll want to try and beat you with this music.
- 2:09:52Speaker 2: I can't do it. I'm just like Scottie. I'm like
- 2:09:54Speaker 2: reaching back, trying to like rock right to stop, Like sweetheart,
- 2:09:57Speaker 2: you got lama, you need wa for the love of God,
- 2:10:01Speaker 2: talk to me.
- 2:10:03Speaker 1: Let's going. We're going to be home in twenty minutes.
- 2:10:09Speaker 5: The closest I come is just that beat, the drum
- 2:10:12Speaker 5: story that I told you of. Oh my god, the
- 2:10:16Speaker 5: grip that I had on the steering wheel, and I
- 2:10:19Speaker 5: was in some sour mood.
- 2:10:20Speaker 1: Would to get back there and shake me? I did?
- 2:10:24Speaker 1: I grab her seat a scarlet. Let's quit hitting that
- 2:10:30Speaker 1: fucking button. What are we doing? You've hit it thirty times.
- 2:10:35Speaker 5: Not to change the mead too much, but I do
- 2:10:37Speaker 5: have it says on here, sad, sad sad warning. Oh
- 2:10:44Speaker 5: are you okay with that? I'm good with a sad warning. Okay,
- 2:10:49Speaker 5: I'll walk in here, fellas. I'm writing to you too,
- 2:10:55Speaker 5: as fellow dads, and to all the other dads out there.
- 2:10:58Speaker 1: Listening.
- 2:10:59Speaker 5: Some of you may know what I'm going through and
- 2:11:01Speaker 5: some may not. From those who have been through this before,
- 2:11:08Speaker 5: I asked for sympathy. For those who haven't, I simply
- 2:11:11Speaker 5: asked for prayers. There's no easy way to put this,
- 2:11:13Speaker 5: but my wife is leaving me. It certainly is a
- 2:11:17Speaker 5: shock to see the sentence written out, but I can't
- 2:11:20Speaker 5: say I didn't know that this was coming. It's something
- 2:11:23Speaker 5: I've dreaded, but my wife and I have been talking
- 2:11:27Speaker 5: about it for months, and the day has finally come.
- 2:11:30Speaker 5: The worst part about all of this is she's taking
- 2:11:33Speaker 5: my eighteen month old daughter and my unborn daughter in parentheses.
- 2:11:37Speaker 5: My wife is pregnant with our second She's taking them
- 2:11:41Speaker 5: with her. I pleaded and begged with my wife that
- 2:11:44Speaker 5: my daughter could stay with me, but it was a
- 2:11:47Speaker 5: fight I was never going to win. And now flights
- 2:11:50Speaker 5: are booked, bags are packed, and I'm watching the three
- 2:11:53Speaker 5: biggest loves of my life leave out my door while
- 2:11:56Speaker 5: tears stream down my face. I'm not sure what to
- 2:11:59Speaker 5: do with myself. I'm not sure how I'll survive. These
- 2:12:02Speaker 5: four days are going to be the hardest of my life.
- 2:12:06Speaker 5: I should probably give more context. My wife is flying
- 2:12:09Speaker 5: with my daughters to go see her best friend's baby
- 2:12:12Speaker 5: shower out of town.
- 2:12:14Speaker 1: I begged her to let.
- 2:12:15Speaker 5: Me come along, but she kept telling me things like
- 2:12:18Speaker 5: it's only four days and it's an all girls shower,
- 2:12:21Speaker 5: and stop lying. There's a zero percent chance you actually
- 2:12:24Speaker 5: want to come. Maybe the first part of my email
- 2:12:27Speaker 5: was a bit dramatic, but I'm obviously still stressed about
- 2:12:30Speaker 5: what I'm going to do this coming weekend. She's a
- 2:12:32Speaker 5: great cook, so I'll be missing out on her cooking,
- 2:12:35Speaker 5: so I'll probably have to order a pizza and wings
- 2:12:37Speaker 5: just to survive.
- 2:12:39Speaker 1: And I'll probably be lonely, so.
- 2:12:41Speaker 5: I'll probably have to go out to the bar and
- 2:12:43Speaker 5: watch college basketball with boys just to distract myself. And
- 2:12:48Speaker 5: the house is probably going to be really, really peaceful
- 2:12:50Speaker 5: and quiet, and that's probably going to be devastating. Anyways,
- 2:12:54Speaker 5: this coming weekend is going to be absolutely brutal on
- 2:12:58Speaker 5: me this weekend, So any and all prayers you can send.
- 2:13:02Speaker 1: My way love the pod. It makes it so.
- 2:13:06Speaker 5: Comforting knowing that there's other dads out there going through
- 2:13:09Speaker 5: the same little struggles and that we're not alone. Wishing
- 2:13:12Speaker 5: you guys the best from a very lonely and depressing
- 2:13:15Speaker 5: and not at all awesome home this weekend, dom.
- 2:13:21Speaker 1: Can I say something? Yeah, fuck you, bro, that's an
- 2:13:38Speaker 1: April First, that's an April First show.
- 2:13:43Speaker 2: No, I didn't start to transition until you said beats
- 2:13:47Speaker 2: and wings. Yeah, it took me along. Dudes, like I'm
- 2:13:54Speaker 2: trying to put some stuff together, Like I'm thinking.
- 2:13:58Speaker 1: Wheels going in your head. I was sad for him.
- 2:14:01Speaker 2: I'm like, damn, we you know this, dude wrote in Yeah,
- 2:14:05Speaker 2: he's talking about his wife leaving him. Yeah, like I'm
- 2:14:09Speaker 2: thinking divorce, like leaving a lot of us did. And
- 2:14:13Speaker 2: the four day thing. I started to get confused. I'm like,
- 2:14:15Speaker 2: so wait a minute, like im think getting divorced. And
- 2:14:17Speaker 2: he's wanted to go on this baby shower. It's an
- 2:14:19Speaker 2: all girls one. It's an all girls one stop one.
- 2:14:22Speaker 2: You don't even want to come. And I'm thinking, is
- 2:14:24Speaker 2: she cheating on him? Wish not letting him come? If
- 2:14:28Speaker 2: this is his last hurrah with seeing the kids, Like,
- 2:14:30Speaker 2: let me come to the dude.
- 2:14:31Speaker 5: Maybe even worse than cheating you, bro, She's taking the
- 2:14:35Speaker 5: kids to a baby shower out of town.
- 2:14:37Speaker 6: The worst part about it all was Sureon was talking
- 2:14:39Speaker 6: earlier about how like I don't even look at the voicemails,
- 2:14:41Speaker 6: I trust you. He got halfway through that and he's like,
- 2:14:43Speaker 6: should we add this to the show, Like this is
- 2:14:45Speaker 6: fucking sad?
- 2:14:46Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I don't listen to the voicemails, but I read.
- 2:14:48Speaker 5: I read the emails, and that one had me for
- 2:14:52Speaker 5: like the first half, and then once he got to
- 2:14:55Speaker 5: the the four days part, I'm like, wait, hold.
- 2:14:57Speaker 2: On, Yeah, I started to get confused. I'm like, is
- 2:15:01Speaker 2: it's just like there, she's leaving him. Excuse me, She's
- 2:15:05Speaker 2: just going on the weekend baby shower. But is she
- 2:15:08Speaker 2: coming back? I'm only gonna be going four days And
- 2:15:11Speaker 2: I'm like, okay, so what's that. That's kind of a
- 2:15:14Speaker 2: weird way to separate. And then maybe he just wanted
- 2:15:17Speaker 2: to last, like just be around the family one last time,
- 2:15:21Speaker 2: and then she doesn't want him to come. I'm like, okay,
- 2:15:23Speaker 2: maybe she's she's got some other motive. And then when
- 2:15:26Speaker 2: you hit the pizza and wings, I'm thinking, oh, that's
- 2:15:28Speaker 2: kind of a maybe he's just trying to jive with
- 2:15:30Speaker 2: the brand while he's telling us something really deep and serious,
- 2:15:34Speaker 2: and I'm sitting here thinking like, man, I don't have
- 2:15:36Speaker 2: words for him other than just a beck I'm really
- 2:15:39Speaker 2: sorry you're going through that.
- 2:15:41Speaker 1: We'll sit with you in this. I probably still don't
- 2:15:44Speaker 1: have words for him now that I have the full picture.
- 2:15:46Speaker 1: But but the whole turn or it's just he's sad
- 2:15:50Speaker 1: because he's living for a weekend that we will. Is
- 2:15:54Speaker 1: that not a big deal? Yeah, I'm sorry, a huge deal.
- 2:15:57Speaker 1: But the sad alerts we cry every week, we all
- 2:16:00Speaker 1: these this dude's be a vulnerable comeou, his wife's leaving
- 2:16:03Speaker 1: him for this on board Chok, Well now it's for now.
- 2:16:05Speaker 1: It's a joke. Now it's it's a joke.
- 2:16:09Speaker 2: What No, anybody that's been listening to pod for this
- 2:16:15Speaker 2: long and got to that moment. The sad alert, everything
- 2:16:18Speaker 2: that goes on with us each week, the tears. A
- 2:16:21Speaker 2: main cream was sad alert written on the sheet.
- 2:16:23Speaker 1: There wasn't actually saddlert written.
- 2:16:26Speaker 6: Just for the record, I added that that's a Sherman
- 2:16:28Speaker 6: Young original.
- 2:16:29Speaker 1: I did it great, that was great. Thank you. He
- 2:16:31Speaker 1: had me. You had me the whole way until I'm
- 2:16:34Speaker 1: like these motherfuckers, bro, he has to get the whole
- 2:16:37Speaker 1: you know, if if you've gone through this, I asked
- 2:16:39Speaker 1: for some sympathy if you haven't pray for me, and
- 2:16:41Speaker 1: then leading with the my she's leaving me. Yeah, for
- 2:16:45Speaker 1: four days during March. This is March, this is this
- 2:16:51Speaker 1: is Mars March.
- 2:16:52Speaker 5: There goes my bracket. Bracket busted. Who wrote that in
- 2:17:00Speaker 5: Dominic Rosa dominic Rosa?
- 2:17:03Speaker 2: Well gratitud yes great, yeah, because you also was fluffing
- 2:17:07Speaker 2: it as well.
- 2:17:08Speaker 1: I'm thinking I'm about to tear up. I'm supposed to
- 2:17:11Speaker 1: tear it up.
- 2:17:12Speaker 2: I'm thinking, how do I sit in this moment with
- 2:17:14Speaker 2: him versus just like giving him. I hope he's not
- 2:17:16Speaker 2: like wanting us to give advice because I'm thinking, dude,
- 2:17:19Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 2:17:19Speaker 1: Yeah, that's brutal. It's still very serious. That's still it's
- 2:17:24Speaker 1: still joke. That run that is it's not very serious,
- 2:17:29Speaker 1: well crafted, well written. Siran was on board, I.
- 2:17:32Speaker 5: Was well on air. I do want to say I
- 2:17:35Speaker 5: am sorry if if that.
- 2:17:37Speaker 1: If that did gut you. I thought we we thought
- 2:17:41Speaker 1: she was leaving him. Then I thought she's cheating on him.
- 2:17:45Speaker 1: We often he's just writing to us like he's like,
- 2:17:47Speaker 1: I'm going to write into the boys. Yeah.
- 2:17:51Speaker 5: When we do have sad stuff on here, we we
- 2:17:54Speaker 5: try to celebrate like somebody in their sadness for anybody
- 2:18:00Speaker 5: that does write actual sad things into the podcast, because
- 2:18:04Speaker 5: we do often read that, and we do love coming
- 2:18:07Speaker 5: around our brothers, So for.
- 2:18:09Speaker 1: Sure, we love putting arms around our guys.
- 2:18:11Speaker 5: We love putting our arms around our guys, so we
- 2:18:13Speaker 5: will put that out there. But I could, I could
- 2:18:17Speaker 5: see why you'd be a little sad boy on that,
- 2:18:20Speaker 5: and I apologize if that hit.
- 2:18:23Speaker 1: Too those great you got me good, domb got us?
- 2:18:28Speaker 5: Yeah, and like obviously best wishes to Dom yeah best, yeah, yeah,
- 2:18:35Speaker 5: did you have something else?

- 2:20:04Speaker 2: honestly helped shape how I think about fatherhood, work ethic
- 2:20:07Speaker 2: and showing up every day. One thing I'm excited to
- 2:20:10Speaker 2: teach my son or daughter is to always bring value,

- 2:20:44Speaker 1: You come on, come on, come on, I do have one.
- 2:20:47Speaker 2: I want to hear it here because I saw something
- 2:20:48Speaker 2: in here that I'm curious to read.
- 2:20:52Speaker 1: Is from Timothy Callahan, Pt. Sixers. I wanted to tell you.
- 2:20:55Speaker 2: The incredible story of what I like to think has
- 2:20:57Speaker 2: led me to believe that everything does happen for a reason.
- 2:21:00Speaker 2: For the last ten years, I've been a high functioning
- 2:21:02Speaker 2: alcoholic from being the life of the party in college,
- 2:21:05Speaker 2: so realizing as I prepared to leave my twenties that
- 2:21:08Speaker 2: the party never stopped. I was the only one still
- 2:21:11Speaker 2: partying this year. On my thirtieth birthday in September, something
- 2:21:15Speaker 2: higher than me, something higher than me, told me that
- 2:21:18Speaker 2: I'm done partying. I've tried to cut back on drinking
- 2:21:21Speaker 2: in the past, but under my own power, I never succeeded.
- 2:21:23Speaker 1: That this was different. It felt like a call. It
- 2:21:26Speaker 1: felt like a calling.
- 2:21:28Speaker 2: As months went by, staying dry and hitting the weights,
- 2:21:30Speaker 2: my wife we got married in June last year, decided
- 2:21:33Speaker 2: it was time to start trying. Was this because I
- 2:21:35Speaker 2: was finally stepping up and being the man she always
- 2:21:38Speaker 2: knew I could be? Was it my newfound motivation and
- 2:21:41Speaker 2: success at work. Was it that I was in the
- 2:21:45Speaker 2: best shape that I've been in since college? I'm still
- 2:21:48Speaker 2: not sure, but nonetheless, nonetheless budge training was sick. Come on,
- 2:21:53Speaker 2: I stress. I stress was eight weeks ago. I stress
- 2:21:59Speaker 2: was eight weeks ago. I wonder, what do you mean.
- 2:22:04Speaker 1: To go with? I stressed because eight weeks ago we okay,
- 2:22:07Speaker 1: I was stressed.
- 2:22:08Speaker 2: There we go that was probably I was stressed because
- 2:22:11Speaker 2: eight weeks ago we found out that we're expecting. Eight
- 2:22:13Speaker 2: weeks ago is also the week that my friend Austin
- 2:22:16Speaker 2: introduced me to the pod, just days before learning the news.
- 2:22:20Speaker 2: As as I near my six months sobriety milestone, listening
- 2:22:24Speaker 2: and learning weekly, I've learned that it's a boy. The
- 2:22:27Speaker 2: due date September twelfth, my thirty first birthday, and what
- 2:22:31Speaker 2: will be exactly one year from making the best decision
- 2:22:34Speaker 2: of my life, taking my life back. My wife Sarah
- 2:22:37Speaker 2: has supported me through everything. She was there when I
- 2:22:39Speaker 2: was struggling and celebrates all my successes.
- 2:22:42Speaker 1: Even the small ones.
- 2:22:43Speaker 2: Listening to the pod makes me feel ready to be
- 2:22:45Speaker 2: there for her for what I'm sure will be our hardest,
- 2:22:48Speaker 2: most rewarding journey yet. Garbages are out dishes are done,
- 2:22:52Speaker 2: the dog is walked, steaks are dry. Aging for steak
- 2:22:55Speaker 2: and blowjob Day this Saturday, March fourteenth. Can't wait to
- 2:22:59Speaker 2: crack a celebratory ollipop this September, Tim, Tim, thank you
- 2:23:03Speaker 2: for writing in.
- 2:23:04Speaker 5: My friend tim very humbling email. Yeah, that canna keep
- 2:23:07Speaker 5: a humbling category, dude.
- 2:23:09Speaker 2: Yeah, And thank you for sharing the high functioning alcoholic
- 2:23:14Speaker 2: all of that, dude.
- 2:23:15Speaker 1: Thank you for sharing that story. Thank you for sharing
- 2:23:19Speaker 1: why you felt like.
- 2:23:24Speaker 2: Those are the reasons that you turned everything around and
- 2:23:26Speaker 2: now you're about to be a dad. Yeah, which you're
- 2:23:28Speaker 2: right is the best thing in the world, the hardest
- 2:23:30Speaker 2: thing in the world. So congratulations man. That is awesome.
- 2:23:33Speaker 5: It makes this this podcast is really fun and cool
- 2:23:38Speaker 5: because we are currently wearing robes from a seance that
- 2:23:43Speaker 5: we conducted earlier to you know ward Off the girl Dad.
- 2:23:49Speaker 1: Or the curl Man, the girl on the Curse, rid
- 2:23:52Speaker 1: ourselves of the curse. Also a pt Siko that introduced himself.
- 2:23:59Speaker 5: I went to that Pokemon ripping packs thing with Taylor
- 2:24:04Speaker 5: the expo and there was a pet Sico talking to
- 2:24:07Speaker 5: him and he actually said he listened before the dads
- 2:24:10Speaker 5: and he was trying to explain to me why he
- 2:24:12Speaker 5: liked it.
- 2:24:13Speaker 1: He was like, you know, I like the genuine, like the.
- 2:24:16Speaker 5: Really genuine moments and how you like.
- 2:24:20Speaker 1: You you guys, I go the shipheadedness.
- 2:24:22Speaker 5: He goes, yeah, it's the coupled with the shipheadedness, and
- 2:24:27Speaker 5: I think that's what makes the show so great. And
- 2:24:30Speaker 5: I was like, well, dude, thank you, Like that's that's
- 2:24:32Speaker 5: a very like I love hearing that review. But that
- 2:24:36Speaker 5: is what I love about this show is you can
- 2:24:38Speaker 5: have emails like that that. It's like, man, I just
- 2:24:43Speaker 5: I love that you are loving life, finding purpose, joy, joy,
- 2:24:51Speaker 5: all perspective and that listen to our podcast is a
- 2:24:54Speaker 5: part of that.
- 2:24:57Speaker 1: Your journey, Yeah, your journey that's in your I was
- 2:25:00Speaker 1: short wiring there for a second. Yeah that you know,
- 2:25:04Speaker 1: with the ship headedness. Yeah, yeah, this is it. This
- 2:25:07Speaker 1: is March. Yeah. Well that that was how he was.
- 2:25:11Speaker 5: He was trying to get the word ship aheadedness, and
- 2:25:13Speaker 5: I had to I had to jump in there feed
- 2:25:16Speaker 5: the word because he he.
- 2:25:18Speaker 1: Didn't want to be insulting. I was like, you're not. Yeah,
- 2:25:21Speaker 1: that's the vibe.
- 2:25:22Speaker 5: We just talked about steaking blood jobs for a long time.
- 2:25:25Speaker 5: Speaking of I have our like a nice little lesson on.
- 2:25:28Speaker 1: This great lesson followed the stake of blow Day.
- 2:25:31Speaker 5: And before I go into it, I do uh. We
- 2:25:34Speaker 5: got some comments that maybe the Dan Gable quotes were
- 2:25:37Speaker 5: too much, that we were doing too many of them.
- 2:25:40Speaker 1: Really yeah, And I don't want to like yeah, no
- 2:25:44Speaker 1: we didn't. Yeah. I didn't want to make a big
- 2:25:46Speaker 1: deal about it.
- 2:25:46Speaker 5: But there were a couple like, hey, Dan Gable quote
- 2:25:49Speaker 5: every week, like is this really what we're gonna do?
- 2:25:53Speaker 1: Oh, that's ogs we get the actually, and so I
- 2:25:57Speaker 1: switched it up. I switched it up.
- 2:25:59Speaker 5: This one comes from them, uh Gandable. Success is earned
- 2:26:04Speaker 5: in the hours nobody sees. And that's from coach Gandable.
- 2:26:10Speaker 1: Just to switch it up right now. Yeah yeah.
- 2:26:20Speaker 5: My topic quote lesson of the week is intentional time
- 2:26:24Speaker 5: with the wifey uh, Jill and I have been putting
- 2:26:28Speaker 5: our phones down slash, turning off the TV, and setting
- 2:26:31Speaker 5: and setting down her kindle for a mandatory ten minute
- 2:26:36Speaker 5: cuddle session every night.
- 2:26:38Speaker 1: I know that doesn't sound very long, and it's like, wait,
- 2:26:41Speaker 1: that's mandatory, like total cuddle, like snuggle ord.
- 2:26:46Speaker 5: Snuggle, snuggle, no shockwave where okay, yeah yeah, yeah, we're
- 2:26:50Speaker 5: just we're literally talking ten minutes of cuddling in bed,
- 2:26:55Speaker 5: no shockwab, no pun uh, every night, and it's been unreal.
- 2:27:01Speaker 5: The pillow talk that we've been having during these times
- 2:27:04Speaker 5: is something that's been lacking in our relationship for months.
- 2:27:07Speaker 5: It's been awesome from a connection standpoint, but also extremely
- 2:27:11Speaker 5: calming and relaxing. It's been helping us fall asleep faster.
- 2:27:15Speaker 5: That's when you know it's a good convo when you
- 2:27:17Speaker 5: fall asleep mid conversation, which is something that we hadn't
- 2:27:21Speaker 5: had in months, which is honestly kind of sad that
- 2:27:25Speaker 5: like the screens had done that to us. In general,
- 2:27:28Speaker 5: I've been trying to emphasize dating my WiFi, flirting with her,
- 2:27:32Speaker 5: joking with WiFi, asking wify her opinion on things, kissing her,
- 2:27:36Speaker 5: hugging her respectfully, grabbing cheek while she's on the stepstool,
- 2:27:41Speaker 5: reaching for the nice bulls that we keep in the
- 2:27:43Speaker 5: higher kitchen cabinets, and hitting her with a little eh.
- 2:27:48Speaker 5: In parentheses, I wrote, she loves that, but yes, ten
- 2:27:53Speaker 5: minute of mandatory cuddle sash, it's fire and it's very
- 2:27:58Speaker 5: easy to implement. I love that, and I know that
- 2:28:01Speaker 5: that sounds like a bit like oh man, that's kind
- 2:28:04Speaker 5: of sad, Gruman like ten minutes a cuttlep bit just
- 2:28:07Speaker 5: with everything with the baby and stuff, like you kind
- 2:28:10Speaker 5: of lose you a little bit and you got to
- 2:28:13Speaker 5: get back into that, like, hey, we're we're lovey dovey, like.
- 2:28:18Speaker 1: Back into the courtship.
- 2:28:19Speaker 5: Yeah, we're lovey dove boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, wifey, Like that's
- 2:28:23Speaker 5: my girl. It's been really great. That's Bee, that's Bee.
- 2:28:28Speaker 5: You on a date or in all good lesson? Thank
- 2:28:33Speaker 5: you did, great sod, great sod. You want to sign
- 2:28:39Speaker 5: us off?
- 2:28:40Speaker 1: I don't think I've ever done a sign off before.
- 2:28:44Speaker 5: Guys, this has been another episode of for the Dads.
- 2:28:48Speaker 5: We hope you enjoyed it. We hope that your balls
- 2:28:51Speaker 5: are empty and that your mouth are full of lollipop.
- 2:28:54Speaker 5: Make sure to separate those trash bins. Don't have them touching.
- 2:28:57Speaker 1: Don't have them from the mailbox.
- 2:28:59Speaker 5: God for bid, get them out from in front of
- 2:29:02Speaker 5: the mailbox. Take your trash out. Have a great week.
