- 2:26www.worldwidesportsradio.com. Has anybody been constipated
- 2:32seriously. Because over the last 48 hours,
- 2:37I have been, you know, there were, there's such AII can't
- 2:41even express the pains I've been feeling in my stomach.
- 2:46Now, Maybe it's because I'm not eating as much as I usually do.
- 2:50Maybe I'm just a workout, a workaholic out in the gym.
- 2:54I don't know what it is, but usually when your bowels move,
- 2:57you're in the bathroom. But for some reason I can't
- 3:01explain over the last 48 hours, I just, I can't lay a big one.
- 3:06I, I don't know Tommy, you're, you're the king of like hanging
- 3:10out in the bathroom. I, I mean, during the show,
- 3:13Tommy goes to the bathroom at least 5 or 6 times.
- 3:16So I, I mean, this is not something that usually happens
- 3:20to me over, you know, a significant time period.
- 3:24But for some reason, Speedy, I don't know what's going on.
- 3:27The beat of my stomach is definitely not a drum.
- 3:30Tommy, just make sure you're not in the bathroom for 10 minutes
- 3:32like Tyler Harrison was one time at the beginning of our
- 3:35interview. I believe it actually was
- 3:37overview for the first time. We had him on the.
- 3:38Show right and you want to know something Tyler was in the
- 3:40bathroom. The funniest part of that that
- 3:43specific time is when he came out of the bathroom the smell
- 3:46because the studio is like 2 rooms away from it.
- 3:50It it smelt for like a good half an hour whatever Tyler was doing
- 3:55in there, he laid some of the biggest deuces we've ever smelt
- 3:59before and it's one of the worst.
- 4:01Speedy, you said your mom has the worst, you know, smells,
- 4:04Yes. She does have some pretty bad
- 4:06farts, I will admit that. I mean, who do you think has the
- 4:11smelliest farts on the show? I mean, think about it.
- 4:14I mean, Jabba's in Nebraska. I mean, he's a corn Husker.
- 4:19There's a lot, he eats a lot of corn or whatever.
- 4:21He he loves his pork and his meat.
- 4:23I mean, I would think that Jabba probably, if he's in the
- 4:26bathroom long enough or you know, he's, he's popping, you
- 4:29know, popping a squad, it probably smells the worst.
- 4:31Now, based based on your Nebraska logic, does that mean
- 4:34we can't rule out Mr. Owen either?
- 4:36I don't know. The funny thing is, is every
- 4:39time I speak to Owen, he's drinking.
- 4:41I don't hear. I don't know anything about
- 4:43about him eating. He's never eating.
- 4:45I mean, I think he definitely drinks more than he eats.
- 4:47There it is. That's a great picture, the Corn
- 4:49Mafia. That's right.
- 4:50Yes, I remember that picture, but I I think that when you when
- 4:54you depending on the food that you eat, the build up and I The
- 4:59thing is, is I am a carnivore. I like meat.
- 5:02I love my chicken. I love my steak, but what they
- 5:07say is sometimes it messes up with your stomach.
- 5:09It's a build up and and it takes a while for you to go to the
- 5:13bathroom. It's never happened to me before
- 5:15as long as it has been over the last 48 hours.
- 5:18So I'd advise people I so I, I don't know, I, I've taken, I'm
- 5:23not going to tell you what I'm taking, but I'm taking this like
- 5:26this X LAX like drink and it's like pink.
- 5:29It actually tastes good. So this morning I took some of
- 5:34it. I took like 30 milligrams and
- 5:36then I said, you know what, I'm not going.
- 5:38So I took another one before the show.
- 5:40So if I have to get up and run to the bathroom, you know why?
- 5:44Ladies and gentlemen, the number 10 Miami Hurricanes and the
- 5:48number six Ole Miss Rebels square off in the Fiesta Ball.
- 5:52This game is a big test of offense versus defense, as Ole
- 5:58Miss has scored a combined 80 points in their first two CFB
- 6:03playoff games. Why?
- 6:05Miamis defense led by Ruben Bain Junior has only allowed
- 6:10seventeen points in their two games.
- 6:13Both teams running backs have been awesome so far with Miami's
- 6:19Mark Fletcher rushing for 287 yards and a touchdown and Ole
- 6:23misses Kawan Lacy rushing for 204 yards and three touchdowns.
- 6:28Miami quarterback Carson Beck has been efficient despite
- 6:33having just 241 passing yards and two touchdowns with a 130.1
- 6:40passer rating. Quarterback Trinidad Chambliss,
- 6:43who's been the big talk of the town, has been outstanding for
- 6:47Old Miss with a prolific 644 passing yard St. touchdowns and
- 6:54a 159 point passing rating. Tomorrow night it will be #5
- 7:02Oregon Ducks will and face off against Indiana and the Hoosiers
- 7:07in the Peach Ball. Oh, I like that name.
- 7:11In a rematch from October 11th when Indiana beat Oregon 30 to
- 7:1720, both teams dominated defensively in their
- 7:20quarterfinal matchups with Oregon shutting out Texas Tech
- 7:25and Indiana only allowing 3 points versus Alabama.
- 7:30Indiana's running back duo in OR of Mr. Black and Hemby rushed
- 7:36for 199 yards versus Alabama, while Oregon's quarterback Dante
- 7:42Moore has a lot of yards in his two CFB playoff games with 547
- 7:50with four touchdowns, but has turned the ball over with three
- 7:54interceptions against the Crimson Tide.
- 7:57Mr. Heisman himself, Fernando Mendoza didn't have too much and
- 8:02did nothing wrong, throwing 192 yards, 3 touchdowns in 3/4
- 8:08versus the Alabama Crimson Tide. Well, a lot to get into in just
- 8:16two games. And what makes this game tonight
- 8:19so intriguing and so interesting is it's a battle of two coaches.
- 8:24One coach in Miami that has come out and said that he's worked
- 8:29really, really hard all season long with some of these players.
- 8:32Made a move in the offseason, bringing Carson back in the
- 8:37portal because Carlson Beck's been in college football for
- 8:40five years and has been in these situations before with Georgia
- 8:45and and and and What's interesting about this match up
- 8:49against both quarterbacks is Carlson Beck, who's expected to
- 8:53be a late first round, early second round pick, and
- 8:56Chambliss, who might be in this year's class.
- 8:59If he makes a run all the way to a championship and somehow
- 9:03surprises the the world and wins a national championship.
- 9:07Does he move into this year's draft as a late second round,
- 9:12not a first round, but a late second round, early third round
- 9:15pick? And teams will be looking at him
- 9:17because of the story behind the fact that this kid is here in
- 9:21position to win a national championship.
- 9:24You think about it. You don't have Lane Kiffin there
- 9:28and Lane Kiffin. Could you imagine if Old Miss
- 9:31wins this game how much Lane Kiffin could pull out of this
- 9:35game? He's already made 750K if he
- 9:39wins, if they win this game, I don't know what is it. 500 Ki?
- 9:42Don't know what he gets out of this win but Lane Kiffin is
- 9:46laughing to the bank now. I would rather a ring and if I
- 9:50was Lane, I would love to be the be in this matchup.
- 9:53I would love to be coaching the old Miss Rebels because I have a
- 9:57chance to win a national championship since something
- 9:59that Lane Kiffin's never done. He built this team from top to
- 10:03bottom. He's the one who recruited these
- 10:05players and brought these guys through the portal and brought
- 10:08in Golden, who has been significantly so important.
- 10:13And the belief of these players to fall in and understand that
- 10:17this is a rookie coach. And just washing away the fact
- 10:22that Lane Kiffin walked away, stepped down and, and the Old
- 10:26Miss execs, the the director and the board of trustees for Old
- 10:31Miss decided, you know what? We don't want Lane Kiffin here.
- 10:35We have a better chance of winning with a rookie coach.
- 10:38And nobody in their wildest dreams, if you're an Old Miss
- 10:42fan, believed that this would be possible today and even
- 10:47tomorrow. But now you're going into a game
- 10:50where this is up for grabs. Hurricanes.
- 10:53The Miami Hurricanes should not be here.
- 10:55They surprised the Ohio State Buckeyes because of their
- 10:58defense. And Bain is slowly but surely
- 11:01moving up in the first round. Now everybody expects Bain to be
- 11:04a top ten pick. If he dominates in this game, he
- 11:07takes the Miami Hurricanes to a championship game.
- 11:11He can move up into the top three.
- 11:13He's been outstanding, dominating and you're you're
- 11:17playing when you played the Ohio State Buckeyes, you didn't play
- 11:19second tier offensive lineman. You played some of the best in
- 11:22the country and you dominated and you put pressure in many
- 11:27different ways in that game. And you look at this game, old
- 11:31miss, their offensive line did not play great against Georgia.
- 11:36OK, they didn't they let Georgia get to them.
- 11:40But what made Chambliss so fantastic in that game is he he
- 11:43stepped into the pocket, he made his throws, he didn't make any
- 11:47mistakes and he was very confident.
- 11:50And when you see a quarterback play that confident against a
- 11:52great defense and A and a Georgia Bulldog team coached by
- 11:56one of the smartest coaches in college football, you think
- 11:59about it Smart. The fact that Smart got out
- 12:03coached by a rookie tells me the fantastic storyline behind this.
- 12:09Now it could go either way. This game could be wide open.
- 12:13This could be a scoring game or could be in a high defensive
- 12:16game. What I love about this is it's a
- 12:18it's a battle of a running game. And they're they're both very
- 12:22good running teams. As we mentioned in the first
- 12:24monologue, we see what Miami brings to the table, but we also
- 12:28see what old miss brings to the table.
- 12:30Now I question what Ole Miss is going to do against this Miami
- 12:35front 7. So what Ole Miss is going to
- 12:38have to do in this game is use different patterns of slants and
- 12:43and use these wide receivers. They don't have a star wide
- 12:46receiver. They don't have a number a real
- 12:48#1 dominant #1 so they have a lot of number twos and #3 so
- 12:53they're going to have to use them in a lot of different
- 12:55packages. And what I noticed in my against
- 12:58Miami when Ohio State was playing them in the
- 13:01quarterfinals is in the second-half the game what they
- 13:04were using Smith as they were using Smith as a decoy.
- 13:08Smith dominated the first half and then some parts of the third
- 13:11quarter. But it was really the fourth
- 13:13quarter them using him in many different packages, moving him
- 13:17in the slant, moving him slants, moving him in, in certain
- 13:21positions in the slot, which that obviously opened up other
- 13:25players and and and eventually opened up the offense.
- 13:29Not by much, but it opened up enough and I think old miss
- 13:33proof that they could put points on the board.
- 13:35But can they run speedy against this Miami Hurricane team?
- 13:39Yeah, and that's a test for the offensive line, I think the
- 13:41bigger one than even the passing attack, because we saw Chambliss
- 13:44do very well when he was hit. He knew where to throw the ball.
- 13:47And I think because of that, you're going to see a lot of
- 13:49slants. You're going to see a lot of
- 13:50these quicker options of that Ole Miss offense.
- 13:52Because you're right, they don't have one standout receiver, but
- 13:55they have a really good core, like almost over the years has
- 13:58always developed good receivers with DK Metcalf, with A.J.
- 14:00Brown, et cetera. And they've all, it's always
- 14:02been a one feature type offense when Kiffin was there.
- 14:04But now you're seeing it this year where they have three
- 14:06different guys they can go to. And that's why I think you're
- 14:08going to see a lot of those quick attacks right away.
- 14:10But Quan Lacy, I think is going to be one of the better running
- 14:14backs in college football already and he might be the best
- 14:161 going into next year's draft. Like we talked about what
- 14:19Jeremiah Love this year. And it'll be up to him to get
- 14:22those second cuts going to wear out that Miami defensive line.
- 14:25Because even though Bain's going to get get get all the
- 14:27attention, they have three other guys that can rush the pass very
- 14:29well in front 7 that's very good at stopping the run and then
- 14:33themselves winning the trenches against Ohio State.
- 14:35They can win against anybody. And that's going to be the key,
- 14:37I think, for Ole Miss game planning wise to slow it down.
- 14:40Now. An interesting transition with
- 14:41Golding as a defensive coach and kind of a test where they might
- 14:45have to play a little. I'm not going to say ball
- 14:46control, but I think Ole Miss is still going to want his their
- 14:48offense to be as electric as it was against Georgia.
- 14:50But at the same time, you want to have some more runs to start
- 14:53it off to wear out Bane to wear out.
- 14:54Even Messidor has been a really good second pass rusher as well.
- 14:57So they can get those passing opportunities later in the game
- 15:00like you saw them against Georgia.
- 15:01Because you're right, the the offensive line for Ole Miss
- 15:03probably played well second-half, but they weren't
- 15:05great the whole game against Georgia.
- 15:07It was just Chambliss was just that much better.
- 15:08Now Miami's offense, we'll see if they can make it a test to
- 15:11get more more dynamic because their running game has been good
- 15:13with Fletcher. Fletcher has been effective,
- 15:15especially on the outside running game.
- 15:17But I think you have to see if this passing attack can really
- 15:19get going in a more consistency because Miami has to play in a
- 15:22shootout. They haven't had to do that much
- 15:24since the beginning of the season.
- 15:25So it'll be interesting to see how they get tested for it.
- 15:27But Crystal Ball is a good coach, so.
- 15:29I, I will say this, Messidor has been just as important as Bain
- 15:33and they've had a dynamic duo in their front 7.
- 15:36And I think again, Miami is going to have to put pressure on
- 15:40Chambliss because if Chambliss sits in the pocket or even moves
- 15:43out of the pocket, which he's been very, very good at,
- 15:45especially in this this tournament, I, I think he could
- 15:49cause a lot of problems defensive offensively to the
- 15:52defense of the Miami Hurricanes. But I think the strength of this
- 15:55game is like we, we, we gave in the monologue, it's offense
- 15:59versus defense. Now old miss is going to have to
- 16:02play better defensively in this game.
- 16:03If they want to win this game, they're going to have to keep it
- 16:06a lot more close. And again, the Hurricanes are
- 16:09not a prolific offense. They're they're not one of those
- 16:12offenses that are going to put up a 40 spot or A50 spot.
- 16:15They're an offense that's going to be able to run the ball.
- 16:18They're going to be an offense that's going to put pressure on
- 16:20those defenses and they're going to make sure that they hold on.
- 16:23And control the clock. If Ole Miss wants to win this
- 16:26game, they got to control the clock and they have one of the
- 16:29best kickers in the country. And they're going to have to
- 16:32make sure that this is not a kicking game versus a scoring
- 16:37game. Because if it comes to that,
- 16:39there's no way in hell, no way in hell Ole Miss is going to win
- 16:42this game. And again, going back to the
- 16:44defenses, I again, Ole Miss is a very good defense too.
- 16:47They've had they've played very well all season long in certain
- 16:51aspects against certain good teams too.
- 16:54Even when Lane Kiffin was there, they put they they have a good
- 16:57front 7 and they have a very good secondary too.
- 16:59They didn't look good against Georgia.
- 17:01Georgia is not a good offensive team.
- 17:03They have not been a good offensive team all season long.
- 17:05They don't Stockton is not a star quarterback.
- 17:08He's not going to the NFL and and again, the the running game
- 17:13of Georgia, they lost their running back in the second-half
- 17:15of the game. And you seen in I we've been
- 17:18talking about the Hurricanes have a dynamic duo.
- 17:21So if one of these go, one of these guys go down, they have
- 17:25another guy that can stand up and and run the ball right down
- 17:28their throat. So that's the difference of this
- 17:29game. Miami is going to do whatever
- 17:32they can to use those running backs and use them in different
- 17:35ways to keep the defense of Ole Miss in position to make
- 17:40mistakes. I also wonder, too, how much of
- 17:42this coaching style is going to get into effect because Mario
- 17:46Cristobal's always been an offensive coach.
- 17:47He always at Oregon was very good, schematically speaking, a
- 17:50little different than what Dan Lanning is.
- 17:51But like, I think a lot of those same types of concepts that they
- 17:54carried over developed Justin Herbert into a very good
- 17:57quarterback. A lot of offensive skill players
- 17:58drafted over there and have been effective.
- 18:01Yeah, he's inheriting A-Team. That's again brought in more
- 18:03defense, especially in the second-half of the season when
- 18:04they've had to fight off to, they didn't win the ACC, but
- 18:07fight off to get into the College Football Playoff as the
- 18:09tenth seed. And then you have the other end
- 18:11with Golding, like inheriting a defense that probably had their
- 18:14best year last year, but it was still a good defense overall,
- 18:16but consider more of an offensive team.
- 18:18How much is that going to change?
- 18:19The idea of are are they going to want to play a ball control
- 18:23type game? A lot more running volume
- 18:24comparatively because Miami wasn't a heavy running volume
- 18:27team when it came to their Ohio State win.
- 18:29They were just efficient with their carries and Ole Miss ran
- 18:33when they had to, but they were still throwing the ball.
- 18:35A. Ton, I mean, also looking at
- 18:36this game, what Chambliss, what Chambliss has done in this
- 18:40tournament, a lot of people would say Carson Beck has the
- 18:43advantage being that he's done this before.
- 18:45He's been in college football for five years.
- 18:47He has the experience behind him, but what Chambliss has done
- 18:51really throughout about this tournament, I honestly believe
- 18:54in the last two games, old miss has the guy and and and has the
- 18:59dominant, more forceful quarterback than a team like the
- 19:03the Miami Hurricanes. Because when you look at this
- 19:05game as bad as you know, in certain aspects of the, the
- 19:10season, the Carlson Beck has looked, he's played just well
- 19:14enough to make to to put this team on his shoulders.
- 19:17But I think Chambliss has put everything on his shoulders.
- 19:20You look at the games, the 1st, 2:00 games of this tournament,
- 19:23Chambliss has been the best quarterback in this tournament.
- 19:26If you look at the yards, even touchdowns, and he hasn't really
- 19:29made any mistakes in the open field.
- 19:31We talk about Dante Moore, which we're going to get into in just
- 19:33a few moments. He's throwing three touch, he's
- 19:36throwing 4 touchdowns, but three interceptions.
- 19:38This guy doesn't throw a lot of interceptions and he's very good
- 19:42on the run. He's very good moving outside of
- 19:44the pocket and making those throws.
- 19:46And again, the Hurricanes are very fast upfront, but Chambliss
- 19:49is just as fast when he gets out of the pocket.
- 19:51Yeah, and he's also one that I think has not afraid to throw
- 19:55down the field either. And I think Miami and against
- 19:58that pass rush, you're going to have to be able to adjust and
- 20:00throw short first, but you still want to be able to stretch the
- 20:02field back. On the other hand, I don't know
- 20:04if he stretches the field as well.
- 20:06So I'm curious to see how old missus defense will tighten up
- 20:08against him too. Because right now, so far, they
- 20:10haven't had to use that kind of game plan because Miami's
- 20:12defense has been that good in their first two matches with Tex
- 20:14A&M and that 2:50 slug fest and then against Ohio State,
- 20:18obviously. Just recently too, but you're
- 20:20look at if they have to play in a shootout, will Beck be able to
- 20:23take those shots? Will those receivers be able to
- 20:25make the plays that I mean Malachi, Tony's made some plays,
- 20:27but they really haven't had much besides that to make it a shoot
- 20:31win a shootout type game, which you might have to do with Ole
- 20:33Miss and if they win the next round.
- 20:34So it gets Oregon, Indiana, definitely so.
- 20:37Yeah, so the big story with Chambliss was they don't really
- 20:40know if he's going to be able to come back to college next year
- 20:43or not because there's some weird stuff.
- 20:44He was originally a zero star division two quarter.
- 20:48Ferris State. Which is wild because honestly,
- 20:52Division Two, a lot of people think division where I where I'm
- 20:56like in New York, they'd rather be Division 3 football because
- 20:58it's just a better league than Division 2.
- 21:00So that's the kind of level he started at and it's amazing what
- 21:05he's done. He hold on Cam young Dak out
- 21:07there. Cam Ward came from JUCO and and
- 21:10look what? He well JUCO.
- 21:11JUCO has more talent though. JUCO is usually guys that didn't
- 21:13pass like SAT's that struggle. Still came from JUCO and he.
- 21:18Jumped, though. I'm saying it's impressive too,
- 21:19but if you're D2, they're saying you're not an athlete.
- 21:22No one ever said Cam Ward wasn't an athlete.
- 21:25So that that's what I'm finding to be really impressive with
- 21:27him, how much he must have worked to get to the point where
- 21:30he's at to be able to play this way and he's turned.
- 21:34Maybe he was a guy that was slept on his whole life.
- 21:36No one's sleeping on him right now.
- 21:38It's amazing what he's able to do.
- 21:39And the most amazing thing, though, is this whole coaching
- 21:42situation with Charlie Weis junior calling the offense with
- 21:46Golding. I think they were able to get
- 21:47the running back coach back too, which is good.
- 21:50Yes. They did.
- 21:51But the best part that I read today was Joe Judge, who former
- 21:55Giants head coach Joe Judge, who is for some reason the
- 21:58mouthpiece. I guess he's the only the oldest
- 22:00guy left of all the coaches. So he's.
- 22:03And the oldest school guy left, probably.
- 22:06He said that he lived at Errol next to Aaron Hernandez in 2013
- 22:12and 2014, but that was a crazy year.
- 22:17It's nothing compared to what he and the Ole Miss program have
- 22:21gone through in the last five weeks.
- 22:23That was paraphrasing a quote from him earlier today.
- 22:25Interesting. Why now?
- 22:27Why now? It just shows you how stupid Joe
- 22:30Judge is. Why would you?
- 22:32Why would you bring up, and I'm just being honest here.
- 22:34Why would you bring up Aaron Hernandez in any kind of
- 22:37conversation of this run that old miss is making?
- 22:41I I would have never done that because it makes him look even
- 22:43more dumb. It it, it really does, and I'm
- 22:46not. This guy took knees on 3rd down
- 22:48in the first half didn't he? Is this the same guy?
- 22:51Yeah, it just seems it was ridiculous that he would bring
- 22:54up the same in any kind of conversation.
- 22:56Trying to compare what Ole Miss is doing this year to him living
- 23:00close to Aaron Hernandez and what happened over there in New
- 23:03England. It's just ridiculous.
- 23:04It's just a ridiculous take. Thank you, Joe, for making us
- 23:07Dumber. So I I just honestly,
- 23:11personally, I've been very impressed with both these teams
- 23:13and whoever comes out of this game.
- 23:15And to me, none of these teams, including Miami and the fact
- 23:20that Ole Miss is sitting here today, whoever wins this game is
- 23:24it's it's pretty pretty much a surprise.
- 23:26I mean, this is a this is a shocker.
- 23:29And and that to me is what stands out in this game.
- 23:32You have two teams that shouldn't be here, one that lost
- 23:35their coach a couple of games before the season ended, and
- 23:38then another team that, you know, snuck into the playoffs,
- 23:42really snuck in over Notre Dame and and has a chance now to win
- 23:47a national championship. It's an amazing story.
- 23:49It really is. Both teams can win a national
- 23:51championship as good as Indiana and Oregon has looked, and those
- 23:54are the two best teams still in this tournament, That does not
- 23:57mean the best team always wins. We've seen this before and we've
- 24:00argued this before, so it'll be funny and and interesting.
- 24:03I say funny because I don't know what to expect tomorrow.
- 24:06Could it be the quack, quack, quack?
- 24:09Or could it be The Who to win and and and make their run all
- 24:13the way to a championship game to face off against the
- 24:16Hurricanes or the Rebels? So very interesting.
- 24:18Speaking of the Devil or Devils, the Oregon Ducks and the Indiana
- 24:24Hoosiers will be playing tomorrow on a national stage in
- 24:27a very big game. And the Peach ball.
- 24:30I, I, these ball names are just very unique and very stupid if
- 24:33you ask me. But I, I'm not a Peach fan.
- 24:35But nevertheless, I love Dante Moore and I love Fernando
- 24:41Mendoza. Everybody knows what I think of
- 24:42Fernando. I think Fernando is going to be
- 24:44star in the NFL. It doesn't matter where he goes.
- 24:47He goes to The Jets, he goes to the Raiders, He's going to be a
- 24:50special player. And I think the same about Dante
- 24:53Moore. I think Dante Moore has a lot
- 24:55more weapons in his, you know it with what he can do in the
- 24:59pocket than a guy like Fernando Mendoza.
- 25:01We know what Fernando Modoza can do.
- 25:03The guy picks your party. So dominant in the open field.
- 25:06He doesn't make that many mistakes.
- 25:08He's accurate. He does the thing, he does
- 25:10everything right as a quarterback.
- 25:13And that's why Signetti has been very successful this year and
- 25:16why he won Coach of the Year again this year.
- 25:18But nevertheless, this team, this Hoosier team, they're
- 25:22loaded, absolutely loaded. When you look at this team and
- 25:25they can run the ball as good as anybody right now in the
- 25:28country. There's no question that they
- 25:29can. They got Hamby who had 918 yards
- 25:32and it had a six touchdowns, I think.
- 25:35And then there was Black who was very good all season long too,
- 25:38who had 798 yards and seven touchdowns.
- 25:41So they've they've mixed it around.
- 25:42Fernando Mendoza is pretty good on his feet too.
- 25:44He had 240 rushing yards and six touchdowns too.
- 25:47So I'm not saying that he can't run the ball as well.
- 25:49He's been successful doing that, but he's more of a pocket
- 25:53pressing quarterback. And that's something why I
- 25:56believe Fernando Mendoza goes one no matter what.
- 25:58I cannot see Tom Brady passing up on a kid like this when this
- 26:02guy has the ability, ability to lead.
- 26:05You see the team, you see how the team, all his teammates, you
- 26:09know, they, they roll, they roll around him and on the sidelines
- 26:12and his faces that he makes the, the personality that he has.
- 26:17I met the guy, I could see what is, and I seen his teammates at
- 26:20the Heisman Trophy dinner, how much they love this kid and
- 26:24Signetti, what he said about this kid and how that he doesn't
- 26:27believe that this team would be where they are today without
- 26:30him. And I, I do seriously believe
- 26:32that. But Mendoza has the ability to
- 26:36draw so many people in and it doesn't doesn't matter his
- 26:39talent, doesn't matter what he's gone through in his life, his
- 26:43mother and his story behind that, how sick his mom has been
- 26:47over the years and how he's been such a an important piece to
- 26:50their family and keeping their family together.
- 26:52How his father and his mother have raised him.
- 26:55It's not even about that. It's about and not even about
- 26:59that. He's the, he's a Cuban American.
- 27:00He's probably going to be the first Cuban American going in
- 27:03the top three in history as a quarterback.
- 27:07The fact here is Mendoza is a pure leader, and that to me,
- 27:12spells trouble for the Oregon Ducks.
- 27:14But what I love about the Oregon Ducks is Dan Lanning is my
- 27:18favorite coach in college football.
- 27:20I think he's a great coach and I think he has the ability to
- 27:24figure out the strengths and the weaknesses of the Indiana
- 27:28Hoosiers. He's already played them this
- 27:29year. They lost 30 to 20.
- 27:31I do believe the Oregon Ducks believe that they were the
- 27:34better team and I still believe they think they're the better
- 27:37team. And now you get a chance to
- 27:40prove it on a national stage, not in just a normal regular
- 27:43season game. This is a championship game.
- 27:45This is a chance to move on to the the, the number one
- 27:49championship game that you've been waiting to play in it.
- 27:51Remember, you played behind and you were, you were a coach
- 27:54behind Nick Saban. You've been, you've won
- 27:56championships as a assistant coach.
- 27:59You've been under guys like Smart and Smart is 1 national
- 28:03championships with Georgia. Now this is your chance to make
- 28:06a statement and you talk about Nick Saban and his coaching
- 28:10staff and guys that have gotten coaching jobs after the fact.
- 28:13Dan Lanning is one of those guys that you expect to win
- 28:16championships. You expect that he's going to be
- 28:1966A successful coach because of his personality, what he does in
- 28:22the locker room, how his players thrive.
- 28:24To him, he's fun. He's just a fun head coach and
- 28:28that's what I love about Danny. Danny doesn't hide.
- 28:31He doesn't hide behind his words, hide behind his
- 28:33personality. He's straightforward, he tells
- 28:36you how it is. And Dante Moore, I don't know if
- 28:39he goes back to college next year or he goes to the NFL.
- 28:42No matter what, this guy's a top five talent.
- 28:45He's got the ability to do things that other quarterbacks
- 28:47can't do in the nation. 2733 yards, 24 passing touchdowns.
- 28:53This kid has the ability to do things that other quarterbacks
- 28:56can't do. He's got a better armor, better
- 28:58arm then Mendoza. So we all know what he can do.
- 29:01If he steps into the pocket. He can make every single throw.
- 29:04Now the question is, is he going to make less mistakes that he's
- 29:09made so far in the first two games?
- 29:10He's going to have to against the Hoosiers.
- 29:12They're very, very well built defensively and their offense.
- 29:16They can run the ball many different ways.
- 29:18They can dominate the clock. They've got wide receivers that
- 29:21can catch the ball, tight ends that could block there.
- 29:25They control the clock. That's what Signeti likes to do.
- 29:27He likes to run the clock out, run the ball and use his star
- 29:30quarterback when need be to make every single pass or make every
- 29:34single throw that he meets them to do.
- 29:36But here's the thing, the rushing ability of this team of
- 29:41Oregon, they've got they have an ability to do this as well.
- 29:45They've got Whittington, they got Davison, they've got the
- 29:48ability to put the ball in the end zone as well.
- 29:51Both running backs their their two starting running backs have
- 29:55added 19 touchdowns this season, 19 and they used they used their
- 30:00running game very, very well, not including the wide receiving
- 30:04game that they've got weapons all over over the field as well.
- 30:06Benson is a great wide receiver. Sadiq is one of the best tight
- 30:10ends in the nation. So they've got the ability.
- 30:12Sadiq had eight touchdowns this year.
- 30:14So they have the ability to put the ball in the end zone and
- 30:18they're very well built defensively as we saw against
- 30:20Texas Tech. Yeah, they're actually one of
- 30:22the, I think them in Ohio State were the only two teams that
- 30:25were top ten and or top 15 in both offense and defensive
- 30:28metrics this year. And that leads to what I was
- 30:31saying on Monday, where Oregon's balance can make you, you can
- 30:34win in so many different ways. You know, Dante Moore obviously
- 30:36is going to have to clean up those turnover issues.
- 30:37It's still lingered in the second-half.
- 30:39Even with the big leads that Oregon has had against their
- 30:41first two opponents, they still has to get that instinct out of
- 30:44there because if they're going to play it back and forth type
- 30:46of game with Indiana, as Indiana's offense will have that
- 30:50with their running game as well, they will have to be able to
- 30:52clean that up. Dante Moore running game against
- 30:54Texas Tech got to be a little more efficient than they were.
- 30:57They averaged about two 2.8 yards a carry, which is not
- 30:59going to win this kind of game, especially with how well Alabama
- 31:02or Indiana stop. They're running against Alabama.
- 31:05Now that being said, Oregon does have the dynamic running back to
- 31:08make it work. Whittington, very dynamic
- 31:09athlete. Davidson kind of more of a one
- 31:11cut runner but still is very good overall.
- 31:14And what I'm curious on too is Indiana hasn't faced a lot of
- 31:18Mobile quarterbacks like Dante Moore besides him obviously in
- 31:20that first meeting. And the Big 10 in general don't
- 31:24have a lot of the guys. Will Dante Moore have some more
- 31:26design runs for him too? In which this Oregon offensive
- 31:29coaching staff has been very creative throughout the year.
- 31:31There's a reason they were the highest scoring offense in the
- 31:33country this year. 39.3 points per.
- 31:36Game and you expect there to be a high this game to be a high
- 31:39scoring game. As good as the Hoosiers defense
- 31:42is and what we saw them do to Alabama, Alabama's offense is up
- 31:46and down. They don't have the offense that
- 31:48they've had over the years, the running game that they had over
- 31:51the years because they lost their star running back early in
- 31:53the season. And their wide receivers are
- 31:55good, but they're not Alabama's wide receivers aren't well that
- 31:58we've seen over the years with Smith and, and the talent that
- 32:02they've had over the years when when they were just running and
- 32:05and dominating on the open field.
- 32:07They don't have that this year. And that's the difference.
- 32:10And I'm not saying the Hoosiers beat a bad Alabama Crimson Tide.
- 32:13This is a Crimson Tide that lost three games, but they're in the
- 32:16SEC. They play against the best teams
- 32:17in the country. I I just think Oregon's a
- 32:19different beast. They're a different dominating
- 32:22beast. And they can put so much
- 32:24pressure on you running the ball and throwing the ball.
- 32:27They can do things that the Hoosiers have had problems
- 32:30defensively all season long against the better teams.
- 32:33I know everybody's going to say the Hoosiers are undefeated,
- 32:35that there were plenty of games that the Hoosiers could have
- 32:38lost. They could have lost some close
- 32:40games this year. And, and again, the Hoosiers
- 32:42show you that they have a lot of ability to stay in those games
- 32:46and they expect their quarterback to make the big, big
- 32:48play at the end of the game. That's the difference this year,
- 32:51ladies and gentlemen, is that Fernando Mendoza, when needed,
- 32:55he can get out there in the fourth quarter when there's two
- 32:58minutes left and they need to make a play and need to get into
- 33:01field goal range or they need to put the ball in the end zone.
- 33:04He's the guy that finds a way to do that.
- 33:07And that is is what makes Fernando Mendoza a unique
- 33:11individual, unique player and why I think he will go #1 unless
- 33:15some crazy thing happens on Friday.
- 33:17Where Deonte just absolutely dominates and shows you why he's
- 33:23going to be a top three quarterback if he goes out of
- 33:25this class. This Oregon defense too is
- 33:27something I want to mention as well because I think after that
- 33:29Indiana loss, they really played well after that October 18th on
- 33:34and sometimes when the Oregon Oregon was struggling, it was
- 33:36more of their offense. There was one game I think they
- 33:38played against Oregon State or some other really bad team that
- 33:40they really got struggled to get going and then they ran away
- 33:42with in the second-half. But their defense was always
- 33:44consistent ever since that game. Now, obviously they weren't
- 33:47tested in having to play like an Ohio State, that offense that's
- 33:49very good or even Penn State at its peak after they fired James
- 33:52Franklin. But still, it's a defense.
- 33:54It's very consistent. You mentioned an arrow like
- 33:56defensive mining coach and Dan Lanning that comes from a Kirby
- 33:59Smart system won the national championship, the first national
- 34:01championship when they beat Alabama.
- 34:03Then he took the Oregon John after that and taking an Oregon
- 34:06team that was always known for their offense in the past and
- 34:08their defense was always iffy. And now they finally have a
- 34:10defense they can trust too to take it to that next level.
- 34:13This is a very well-rounded team.
- 34:14Now Indiana, obviously they have a prolific offense too.
- 34:16They have receivers that I don't think get enough credit for what
- 34:19they do as well an offensive line that played very well
- 34:21against an Alabama team that's good in the trenches.
- 34:23And I'm curious to see how quickly both those running games
- 34:26will end up getting started because obviously Dante Moore is
- 34:30the more dynamic, athletic quarterback.
- 34:31But Mendoza is very smart, too, like we were saying with Carson
- 34:33Beck, and he makes all the right decisions.
- 34:35Mendoza is very athletic too. I mean to say that he's not he's
- 34:38had he's had over 250 yards run and he's ran 6 touchdowns in.
- 34:43So he's athletic. I just don't know if he's more
- 34:45athletic. That's the only thing.
- 34:47But again, he's. More like, you know how Baker
- 34:49Mayfield gets yards even though he doesn't have at least speed?
- 34:52It's more like that kind of running from Mendoza.
- 34:54As people would say, the sneaky. Athletic.
- 34:56Well, you know, more athletic than me, that's for sure.
- 35:00Way more athletic than I ever was.
- 35:02But not the same level as Dante Moore, is what they're saying.
- 35:05But it's not really about that. I think this Oregon defense is
- 35:09magnificent. And I'm really curious about the
- 35:12game plan in this game. If they can't run the ball, are
- 35:16they going to try to stay away from Brandon Finney junior's
- 35:20side of the field? Because this freshman might be
- 35:23one of the best freshmen or the best freshmen at cornerback in
- 35:27the in the entire game right now.
- 35:28He had two picks and A and a fumble recovery against Texas
- 35:31Tech. He was everywhere.
- 35:33He had six tackles everywhere. He was coming over, helping out,
- 35:38doing everything you can do and it seemed like he was like a
- 35:42senior out there. Five star recruit Dan Lanning.
- 35:47They are really, really stacked on defense.
- 35:49So in me, I'm not. If I'm a pocket quarterback,
- 35:53we're not throwing there. I'm treating it like Darrell
- 35:55Revis type stuff to the certain degree.
- 35:57I mean, obviously situationally he's not Darrell Revis.
- 36:00Maybe you could find a way to fool me as a freshman.
- 36:03And he had like, you know, the college version of PFF grade was
- 36:06over 81, which is ridiculous for a freshman.
- 36:09So he's he's just an outstanding player.
- 36:12And that's the kind of game that I think we're going to see
- 36:14tomorrow. It's going to be more like an
- 36:17NFL cat and mouse. Who's going to be open?
- 36:20Are they going to put Finney on their best guy or they put him
- 36:23on the second best guy and then double their best guy?
- 36:26Is that what they're going to do?
- 36:27Kind of like you would see in the NFL?
- 36:29I'm very curious to see how this game goes.
- 36:31Speaking of the NFL Wild Card Week in the best time for
- 36:35football ladies and gentlemen and it will get underway this
- 36:40weekend with the Broncos and the Seahawks getting the bye weeks
- 36:44as the number one seeds. The number 5 seed Rams will face
- 36:50off against the number 4C Panthers in the first match up
- 36:53Saturday. The Rams have had the number one
- 36:56offense in the NFL in both yards and points facing off ladies and
- 37:01gentlemen against the Panthers defense that has allowed 20
- 37:05points or less in their last four games.
- 37:07Quarterback Matthew Stafford is the MVP favorite in most sports
- 37:12books for the 2025 NFL season. In a rematch match of a classic
- 37:18only a few weeks ago, the number 7 Packers will face off against
- 37:23the number two Bears in the second game on Saturday.
- 37:28The Packers get quarterback Jordan Love back, who they lost
- 37:32in a in in that game with a concussion the last time they
- 37:36played against the Bears a couple of weeks ago.
- 37:39The number six Bills and reigning MVP quarterback Josh
- 37:45Allen will face off against the number three Jaguars.
- 37:47With a revamped Trevor Lawrence and Jaguar and the Jaguars
- 37:52offense and top 10 defense this year under new coach Liam Cohen
- 37:58in their first game Sunday, the number six 49ers will face off
- 38:03against defending champions at the number 3 seeded Eagles in
- 38:08the second game on Sunday. With the 40 nines and five 49ers
- 38:12having a top five offense in all major categories since Brock
- 38:17Birdies. Brock Birdies return, they face
- 38:20off against the Eagles defense that is fifth best in points
- 38:24allowed. Although they have struggled
- 38:27offensively compared to last year's Super Bowl run, finishing
- 38:32in the bottom third of the league in most offensive
- 38:36statistics. The number 7 Chargers will face
- 38:39off against the Patriots on Sunday Night Football possible
- 38:42possibly the MVP of the league Drake May and the Pats top five
- 38:48ranked offense takes on the Chargers top five defense and
- 38:52Justin Herbert coming back from an injury.
- 38:55The number 5 Texans will face off against the Steelers on
- 38:59Monday Night Football. The Texans who have arguably the
- 39:03top defense in the league takes on 41 year old Aaron AKA
- 39:09Brittanys hand Rogers who will try to dig deep into the
- 39:16darkness to dominate like he once did.
- 39:20I want to go into these games and I congratulations to the
- 39:24Broncos, who I think are going to be out in the next round.
- 39:26I do not believe the Broncos. I don't take them seriously
- 39:29because they have no offense. Seattle is a lot of people's
- 39:32favorites to go into the Super Bowl.
- 39:34Sam Darnold, congratulations on a great season.
- 39:36Very well deserved. And Najigba has been one of the
- 39:40best more prolific offensive options in the league.
- 39:44So they've had an ability to stop the runs on a lot of teams
- 39:49and and offensively very gifted. And I I got to give a shout out
- 39:52to, I believe the coach of the year in McDonald's, who has been
- 39:55sensational for the Seattle Seahawks.
- 39:58But the Rams and the Panthers are an interesting game.
- 40:00And I'm going to tell you why the Rams are expected to win
- 40:03this game. Matthew Stafford.
- 40:06Is one of the best quarterbacks and veteran quarterbacks in the
- 40:10NFL. He is a Hall of Famer, future
- 40:12Hall of Famer. What stands out in this game is
- 40:16Canalis and what he has done in the few years he's been there
- 40:21with the Carolina Panthers. He's discovered a running back
- 40:24from the Dallas Cowboys. Has Dowdell, who's been
- 40:27sensational in the first half, kind of falling off a little bit
- 40:30in the second-half, But it's been as important to the offense
- 40:34as any player. McMillan high draft pick.
- 40:37You can see why they needed a wide receiver this good that can
- 40:41open up the field as well as he's done this year.
- 40:45And a defense that can spread many different ways of blitz
- 40:49packages. And they could get to the
- 40:51quarterback in many different ways.
- 40:53And they have one of the best corners, one of the more
- 40:55underrated corners in the NFL when he stays healthy.
- 40:58And Horn, they can do a lot of things.
- 41:00They can cause a lot of trouble, especially in the open field
- 41:05defensively, and that's why a good defense always beats a good
- 41:08offense. And when you can run the ball,
- 41:09which Carolina can and has proven to do so I think Carolina
- 41:14can create a lot of mismatches and create a lot of problems for
- 41:18a team like the Rams, Speedy. Yeah, definitely.
- 41:20I think Carolina's defense, when you look at the rookies that
- 41:22they have up front, I I never thought it would be as deep as
- 41:24it was. And it played really well
- 41:26towards the second-half of the season once that scheme really
- 41:28got going. Now they had some ugly losses.
- 41:29They lost twice to the Saints, which doesn't add up well.
- 41:32And again, which level of their offense are you going to see?
- 41:35It's always a question with their offensive line, with Bryce
- 41:37Young just being very streaky all year.
- 41:38But they've had their moments. They have a very good offensive
- 41:40skilled players. The Rams defense is something
- 41:43that's been worrisome at the end of the year.
- 41:45The last five games or so they've allowed an average of
- 41:47over 30 points of games. So are they going to find that
- 41:49defensive groove? I know Chris Shula is one of
- 41:51those guys that's going to get head coaching candidates, but
- 41:53again, they he has to refocus his defense to really get going
- 41:56because their offense obviously is top notch.
- 41:58I agree with you, Stafford should be MVP and they don't
- 41:59really have a significant weakness on that offense either.
- 42:02They will be out with one of their offense alignment though.
- 42:04Kevin Dotson is hurt. That's going to be an
- 42:05interesting match of Derrick Brown, one of the best defensive
- 42:07tackles in the league. Kind of expose that kind of
- 42:10thing. If the Panthers could play back
- 42:11and forth, there are really good fourth quarter team if the Rams
- 42:15are going to win this game, if they're going to come out early
- 42:16and maybe they'll get the blowout that they should with
- 42:18the 10 and. 1/2 Well, you know, Puka Nuku is going to be all
- 42:21over the field and you know, Devante Adams is going to be all
- 42:23over the field and they can run the ball.
- 42:25They have a lot of options on running the ball as well.
- 42:28Kieran Williams is one of the more underrated running backs in
- 42:32the league. So they're going to be able to
- 42:33do a lot of things. And we we talk about Blake all
- 42:36season long. He's transition his game.
- 42:39A guy that we remember on that Michigan championship team.
- 42:41He could do a lot of things in the open field.
- 42:43He can catch the ball. You can use him in the screen
- 42:45game. So and we all know Sean McVeigh
- 42:48is going to use many different packages to try to get Carolina
- 42:52off their spots. And that's the difference in
- 42:55this game is, is the match up against a young, great coach in
- 42:59Canalis and a veteran coach and Sean McVeigh that everybody
- 43:02loves. I'm not a big fan of his because
- 43:04because he's Kyle Shanahan's guy.
- 43:06But we all know what Sean McVeigh can do.
- 43:08And we've seen Sean McVeigh in the big games and we've seen him
- 43:11not play well and not coach very well in the big games.
- 43:14Remember the Super Bowl? They have the number one offense
- 43:16in the league and they played against New England and they
- 43:19what did they put up? Three points.
- 43:21Three points. So we know what Sean McVeigh can
- 43:24do And and and lay up a lousy kusak in a big game.
- 43:27So I'm not saying that's going to happen this year.
- 43:29He also didn't have a play like Puka Nakur.
- 43:31Now, he didn't Puka Nakus, one of the more unique players we've
- 43:35seen in the NFL. This guy was a fourth round
- 43:38talent. We talk about Cooper Cup and
- 43:40what he did and what he brought to the table.
- 43:42This guy is bigger and he's stronger and he could do a lot
- 43:44more things in the open field than Cooper Cup could ever do.
- 43:47And he's a great route runner. He can run, yeah, he could do
- 43:51everything. He's just very well built.
- 43:53But the game that sticks out to me on Saturday is the Packers
- 43:56and the Bears. We've seen these teams play
- 43:58against one another twice this year and I love it because you
- 44:03have the battle of the coaches right now and you have two
- 44:05coaches that are offensively sound, offensively offense
- 44:10minded. And you have Ben Johnson, who a
- 44:12lot of people believe has been one of the best offensive
- 44:16coaches hired in a very long time.
- 44:19And you can see it. Remember, if you remember what
- 44:21Detroit has done over the years in the playoffs and what
- 44:23Detroit's done year in and year out over the years, it's because
- 44:26of Ben Johnson. You can see it because Dan
- 44:28Campbell is not in the playoffs this year.
- 44:31Why? Maybe because Aaron Glenn is
- 44:33coaching the New York Jets and Ben Johnson is coaching the
- 44:36Bears. Now, Aaron Glenn did not have a
- 44:38good season and I know that's what Jeff fans are going to say.
- 44:40What are you talking about? But he was a great defensive
- 44:42coordinator. This guy, Ben Johnson is one of
- 44:46the more unique offensive coordinators.
- 44:48The play calling, the trick plays, the things that he does
- 44:51very, very unique and against a a team like the Packers who lost
- 44:57two big defensive players in Wyatt and Micah Parsons.
- 45:01Now I don't know if why it's going to be in this in the
- 45:03playoffs. If he's going to come back in
- 45:04the playoffs. I don't know how bad his injury
- 45:06is. We know Micah Parsons isn't
- 45:07coming back and the understanding here is ever since
- 45:12Michael Parsons been out, they've been even better
- 45:15defensively in certain aspects. And I think that the reason why
- 45:19is they're they're covering up the weaknesses that the Packers
- 45:22have had over the last couple of years.
- 45:24Now, the Packers are still a very good defense.
- 45:26We saw what they did last year and we understand what they can
- 45:29do in the open field, especially in their secondary.
- 45:32I think the Packers have the advantage in this game.
- 45:35I do. I think the Packers have the
- 45:36advantage in this game. And one of the main reasons why
- 45:38I know you're going to look at it, well, the Packers are going
- 45:41to Chicago in Chicago. Remember when Chicago played
- 45:44their playoff game at home the first year with Matt Nagy and
- 45:50Mitchell Trabinsky and they're they were one of the best
- 45:52defenses in the league. They had a top, they were a top
- 45:56team in the league. And what did they do?
- 45:58Their kicker missed an important field goal in the game and they
- 46:01couldn't do the things that they could do in the regular season.
- 46:03I'm not saying this is the the same Chicago Bears team, but I
- 46:07trust the Green Bay Packers in these big games than I ever do
- 46:11with the Chicago Bears until Chicago brews, they can win the
- 46:14big game. Now Doomsday is playing in this
- 46:16game. So they're getting back some of
- 46:17their offensive guys that they missed in some of the in one of
- 46:20those Packers games that you can remember on that on that.
- 46:23I think it was Saturday night, but this is a Saturday game
- 46:27where I think that the Packers are going to be at full
- 46:29strength. Watson, they have the players
- 46:31that they've had all season long.
- 46:33Watson's been a number one. He's proved that he has a number
- 46:35one. They they've brought a lot of
- 46:37their players have gotten healthy.
- 46:38Jacobs is going to be a big part of this offense.
- 46:41And I think again, out of the defenses that I've watched this
- 46:45season, the defense that has played up to par week in and
- 46:49week out is the Green Bay Packers.
- 46:50As good as the the the Bears defense has been all season
- 46:53long, I think the Packers defense to me has been better.
- 46:56Yes, they've definitely been better.
- 46:58The Bears defense has been had having trouble at times getting
- 47:00pressure on the quarterback and they've been reliant a lot on
- 47:03turnovers. They're one of the best turnover
- 47:04teams in the league, but they do allow a lot of yards and they
- 47:07don't get a lot of pressure on the quarterback.
- 47:08Now the Packers offensive line, sometimes it's been suspect,
- 47:10too. Some of that has to do with
- 47:11injuries, obviously, but I'm curious to see who can win that
- 47:14kind of battle. If the Bears can get enough kind
- 47:16of secondary pressure outside of Montez squad, was that a good
- 47:19year? Can they get some even on the
- 47:21interior? Can they get enough pressure on
- 47:22Jordan? Look, we've seen Jordan love at
- 47:24times get flustered this year under pressure.
- 47:26I don't think that part of his game has really developed yet
- 47:29and will Chicago could be able to get enough consistent
- 47:31pressure. And then on the other side,
- 47:33Green Bay is going to have a void on the interior defensive
- 47:35line with Devante Wyatt out yet Chicago's running backs are
- 47:38better outside running backs. On the inside running backs,
- 47:40it's not like you have Dave Montgomery when Ben Johnson was
- 47:42in Detroit. Do they have enough consistency
- 47:44with the inside run game to kind of wear them down?
- 47:47Because even though the Packers lost Micah Parsons, they still
- 47:49have enough more on the edge losing obviously training Clark
- 47:52in the Parsons deal and then losing Wyatt.
- 47:54Like they really have a lot in the middle and I'm curious how.
- 47:57Did Wyatt hurt himself? It was a it was a leg injury.
- 48:00I believe he's not going to be available like.
- 48:04For the rest of the playoffs, yeah.
- 48:05They said he was out for the. Season.
- 48:06OK, so I didn't even know that. I didn't know it was that bad.
- 48:09Yeah, I was like they were saying it would be a long shot
- 48:11for him to come back, like maybe it would be deeper.
- 48:13I know Michael Parsons won't be back because he tore no.
- 48:17Yeah, he's done. He's done.
- 48:18He probably going into a little bit next year too, right?
- 48:20And I think there's a shot why, maybe if they reach the Super.
- 48:23Bowl. That's what I'm saying.
- 48:24Yeah, I've heard that. Why?
- 48:25It could be back in the playoffs at some point.
- 48:27That happened two years ago with the 49ers, with Fred Warner.
- 48:29Fred Warner came back for the Super Bowl after he got hurt in
- 48:32the playoffs. But it was a long shot and we've
- 48:35seen it obviously with Thomas. Davis, I will say this, I trust
- 48:38Jordan Love more than Kayla Williams.
- 48:39This is this is his first time in this position.
- 48:42He's never been in a position like this.
- 48:43There's a lot of pressure on a young guy that has had a coach
- 48:47like Everfloose that couldn't get him over the hump.
- 48:49Now you have Ben Johnson in his first year.
- 48:51You're you're the number two seed in the NFC, probably the
- 48:54best conference in all of football.
- 48:56And, and you've had that kind of season and you're against Jordan
- 48:59Love, who's proven himself in the playoffs, be an efficient
- 49:03quarterback. And at some point, I could say
- 49:06it was very Aaron Rodgers ask in the last couple of years
- 49:09watching Jordan Love play, he can make the big play.
- 49:12And he's the scary one. Because if Jordan Love can get
- 49:15time and get confidence, what we've seen he's done many, many
- 49:19times in the past, especially for the Green Bay Packers, when
- 49:23healthy, he can win games himself.
- 49:26And I think Jordan Love is going to play a big importance in this
- 49:30game as long as he stays healthy.
- 49:32And we all know the Chicago Bears are going to go head
- 49:34hunting as well as they did on on the Saturday that they played
- 49:37against him and why he had a concussion.
- 49:39If if you remember that game, why did he get that concussion?
- 49:41It was against Chicago Bears. It was an illegal hit.
- 49:44Yeah, it was a legal hit by their, I think, second defensive
- 49:46tackle or something like that. It was a big guy to Austin
- 49:48Booker. And yeah, I'm wondering like how
- 49:50Love is going to come back from that, too.
- 49:52And like you said, like he's been through adversity in the
- 49:54playoffs before. I had that one bad quarter
- 49:56against the 49ers out. Besides that, he's played really
- 49:59well in the playoffs in his three playoff game so far.
- 50:01It wasn't his fault they lost to the Eagles even though they I
- 50:03didn't get in that game. Could have gone either way.
- 50:06The one I'm curious on too though is neither of these teams
- 50:09really have like an obvious like either tight end or receiver
- 50:11number one type guy. They rotate a lot like the
- 50:14Bears, thrive with Loveland, a lot in the second-half.
- 50:17I like Loveland. He looked really good.
- 50:19Doomsday was the guy in the first half of the season.
- 50:20He didn't do much in the second-half, obviously with the
- 50:22injury. And then DJ Moore was very
- 50:23streaky all year. So they don't have that kind of
- 50:26guy in Green Bay. Forget about it.
- 50:27Like once Jaden Reed went down, Watson emerged later, but the
- 50:30Tucker craft going down really hurt them and they couldn't
- 50:33really find consistency there. And how healthy Josh Jacobs.
- 50:35Is the last, the last time they played against Green Bay, Watson
- 50:39didn't have a big game, right? And none of them did.
- 50:42I expect Watson to play better than in in this game than he did
- 50:45the last time they met. And a doomsday was not in that
- 50:48game. A doomsday is going to play a
- 50:49big part in this game offensively.
- 50:51If the Bears beat Green Bay, they're going to have to use a
- 50:55doomsday. They're going to have to move
- 50:56them in a slot, they're going to move them on the outside.
- 50:58They're going to have to play that game where they're going to
- 51:00throw mismatches against is Green Bay Packers secondary,
- 51:03which is very, very good. And that's one of the strengths
- 51:06of this team is their secondary so.
- 51:08And so Chicago's, when they're healthy, they got a really good
- 51:10threesome. Of corners but are they healthy
- 51:11that's the question right so I I don't know if the bears of their
- 51:15secondary is 100% healthy they're going to play but I
- 51:18don't believe they're going to be 100% healthy so that I think
- 51:20that's the difference. I know the Green Bay Packers
- 51:22front their their secondary is healthy, so and they have a star
- 51:26safety, a no, you giant fans know who.
- 51:28Yeah. So in McKinney.
- 51:30So I I think there's an there's an optional thought what this
- 51:34game could turn out to be. This could be a high scoring
- 51:36game or a very well put defensive game.
- 51:38I expect it to be a high scoring game.
- 51:40I could see this game a 30 to 22 game or of something of that, a
- 51:4430 to 25 or maybe even a 30 or 27 game, depending on and it
- 51:49might be a missed field goal that wins the game.
- 51:50It's going to be very, very interesting on Sunday.
- 51:54Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills meet up against the Jacksonville
- 51:59Jack Ross in Jacksonville. A lot of people, a lot of people
- 52:04have Jacksonville pulling off the upset in this game.
- 52:08Maybe because of Trevor Lawrence and what he's done this year.
- 52:10It's something that we haven't seen.
- 52:12I maybe because the Gremlin got hurt and this this offense has
- 52:15been completely different. I don't know.
- 52:17And it's not because of certain certain offensive players that
- 52:20we brought up before the season started.
- 52:22It's not. It's been a lot of different
- 52:25players. How about ETN having just an
- 52:27unbelievable season coming out of nowhere where a lot of people
- 52:30thought they were going to move on from him and they had a
- 52:32running game. They had three running backs
- 52:34before, before the regular season.
- 52:36And ETN was looked, maybe looked out to be traded.
- 52:39And what did they do before, before the season started?
- 52:42They moved to some of the other running backs and they kept ETN
- 52:45because of how fast he looked and how good he looked in
- 52:48Cohen's offense. I'm going to bet on the guy
- 52:54that's been here before. I'm going to bet on the guy that
- 52:57has done it before in the playoffs.
- 53:00Trevor Lawrence won a game in the playoffs.
- 53:01I remember they, they came back for against the Chargers a
- 53:04couple of years ago. And then what did they do?
- 53:06They laid up. They laid up a lousy goose egg
- 53:08in the semis. I, I, I don't know if I trust
- 53:13the Jacksonville Jaguars. I know a lot of people like what
- 53:15their defense has done in the second-half and what Trevor
- 53:17Lawrence has looked at and looked like over the last four
- 53:20games. He's been unbelievable.
- 53:22He's been one of the best quarterbacks in the league, no
- 53:24question. Look at the teams that they
- 53:26beat. They didn't beat anybody, OK?
- 53:30And they're in a division that is not very good.
- 53:34I mean, Indianapolis was up and down all season long.
- 53:36I I we don't know what they were after they lost Daniel Jones.
- 53:39They're obviously the Texans defense is sensational.
- 53:43I'm not taking it. See, they should not look good
- 53:45and Nico Collins look better in the second-half.
- 53:47But I don't know if I'm going to bet on the Texans on how good
- 53:50they are. I have to see them do it.
- 53:52And they got to do it significantly in the playoffs.
- 53:56And we've seen the Texans, you know, with other quarterbacks
- 54:00not do it very well. So I know this is a different
- 54:03team and it's it's a different season.
- 54:06Jacksonville, Ken have the upset.
- 54:09I heard Stephen A Smith had Jacksonville going to the Super
- 54:12Bowl in the AFC, which I think is absolutely ridiculous.
- 54:16I I again, I don't know what I've watched Jacksonville play
- 54:20twice this year, so I'm not going to sit here.
- 54:23And I saw him play really bad in the first half of the season
- 54:25when they had the Gremlin on it and I wanted to watch.
- 54:27You wanted to track how bad he was.
- 54:29I watched bits and pieces of how bad he was, and then I and I
- 54:33watched Trevor Lawrence. He just looked the shell of
- 54:35himself. That and he looked even worse
- 54:37than he did in the years before that.
- 54:40But in the second-half of the season, I think Trevor Lawrence
- 54:43figured out this offense. Cohen figured out what Trevor
- 54:46Lawrence is good at. And I think everything started
- 54:49to get easier and slower for Trevor Lawrence.
- 54:52And you can see the difference of a quarterback and what type
- 54:54of quarterback he can be in an offense that can open up his
- 54:58strengths and hide his weaknesses.
- 55:02Josh Allen has no wide receivers.
- 55:04He has not. There is nobody on this offense,
- 55:08especially the wide receiving corps, that I'm going to say, Oh
- 55:11my God, I'm scared of them. He's got some tight ends.
- 55:14I like Knox. I've seen what he can do in the
- 55:16playoffs. I like Kincaid.
- 55:19Kincaid, who's been, I think he was a first round talent.
- 55:23Late first round back. He's been up and down in the
- 55:25playoffs over the years, but I think this is a year that
- 55:28Kincaid could really show himself as one of the elite
- 55:30tight ends in a league. And he's going to have to
- 55:33because he's going to have to make the big plays and this
- 55:36running game. And James Cook is going to have
- 55:38to run against a defense that's been very good on the run in the
- 55:41last four or five games. So they're going to have to use
- 55:44Cook on the open field and screen passes, use them in
- 55:48different packages to throw them off.
- 55:50And I trust, obviously, even though Cohen has been very good
- 55:53this year, I trust a veteran coach with the Buffalo Bills.
- 55:56I trust that they're going to they're going to have a game
- 55:58plan against Trevor Lawrence. They're going to and and this is
- 56:00not the same Buffalo Bills defense that we remember, OK?
- 56:04But this is a Buffalo Bills defense that is getting a little
- 56:07bit healthier, and they've got some of their linebackers back,
- 56:11so losing Oliver for the rest of the season really hurt them.
- 56:15I mean, seriously, Olivers having a great season.
- 56:18He was looking really, really good.
- 56:19And then he gets hurt and I forget what he heard, but I
- 56:23think it was something in his legs and he was out for the
- 56:25season. So this has not been the same
- 56:28defense we expect if we expected this year.
- 56:30But I expect this defense to show up in the playoffs.
- 56:33And I expect Josh Allen to put up, you know, a big game and
- 56:36expect to knock them off in this game against the Jaguars.
- 56:39Yeah, they still have. The Bills still have a top 7
- 56:41defense though. And I think a lot of that has to
- 56:42do with how well their past defense has played too, which I
- 56:44think it helps in this kind of match up too.
- 56:46Cuz yeah, ETN probably on paper you think OK, they should be
- 56:50able to dominate a bad Bills run defense most of the year.
- 56:52But we've seen the Bills have bad run defenses in the past and
- 56:55they get up for it in the playoffs.
- 56:56They play well against these better running backs.
- 56:58It's really been sometimes their secondary that's disappeared in
- 57:00the playoffs a lot of the time in their playoff losses.
- 57:03What's interesting too is the matchup of the very good
- 57:06Jacksonville linebackers. One of them has been on our show
- 57:08a lot in foyer Luc and Devin Lloyd.
- 57:09Another one that played very well this year against those
- 57:12tight ends and against James Cook.
- 57:13That's going to be the strength on.
- 57:14Foyer would not like to hear my take on the Jacksonville
- 57:17Jaguars. Again, I again, it's actually a
- 57:20battle of players in a bit. He's got a great season, but.
- 57:22He's had a great year and that says Devin Lloyd.
- 57:24Devin Lloyd is probably going to be a Pro Bowler this year, and
- 57:26Fourier is one of the better, like veteran linebackers we've
- 57:29seen. Tacklers in the league?
- 57:30Fantastic. And they can get, they can rush
- 57:33the passer too. But Buffalo's got a really good
- 57:34offensive line too. So will they be able to get
- 57:36enough pressure on Josh Allen where he makes one of his like
- 57:39random mistakes that we've seen him do sometimes, not all the
- 57:42time in the playoffs. It's not all these people that
- 57:44are making all these lazy takes on Josh Allen.
- 57:46He's been really good in the playoffs, but he's again, he's
- 57:47had some random blunder here and there.
- 57:49Jacksonville offensively will be the question if they can get any
- 57:53of these receivers going quickly because they have a rotation,
- 57:56like I was saying with the Bears and the Packers of these
- 57:57receivers. Because really Brian Thomas said
- 57:59did not get it going at all in the second in the second season,
- 58:02you saw Parker Washington have flashes too, but they really
- 58:05Jacoby Meyer has been great since he's come over there.
- 58:07But can they get enough consistency against a secondary
- 58:09in the Bills that has a lot of good talent and a pass rush in
- 58:11the Bills that has a lot of good talent as well and Josh Allen
- 58:15extending plays too. Are they going to be able to be
- 58:18ready for that kind of thing against the defense?
- 58:19It's more of an attacking defense with their front 7 as a
- 58:22whole too. I think Buffalo has a slight
- 58:24lead, but I Jacksonville is a well-rounded team.
- 58:26But I think the Bills, I agree that this experience will play
- 58:28out. The 49ers in the Eagles.
- 58:30This is going to be an interesting game.
- 58:32Now the Eagles, Eagles I believe are the best team still in the
- 58:35playoffs, the most talents. They edit some pieces and
- 58:38Phillips, they had a Michael Carter, the second from The Jets
- 58:41putting him in a slot. They've been they slowly but
- 58:43surely starting to fit in over there with the the Philadelphia
- 58:47Eagles. The Eagles defense has been
- 58:48superb over the last three weeks and I expect them to be even
- 58:52better in the playoffs. They show up.
- 58:54Jalen Carter, they gave us. This defense is as good as
- 58:58anybody's going into the playoffs, and they have
- 59:00tremendous talent all over the board.
- 59:03Their secondary is some of the best.
- 59:05Mitchell is one of the best corners in the league.
- 59:06They can do so many things that other guys and other teams
- 59:10cannot do, other coaches cannot do.
- 59:12But the offense needs to wake up and if they want to win a Super
- 59:16Bowl, they have to give the ball to the one and only.
- 59:19You know, I'm talking about speedy Saquon Barkley.
- 59:23He needs to run the ball. He needs to have his, I would
- 59:26believe at least 18 to 25 touches.
- 59:29He needs to touch the ball a lot.
- 59:31They need to use him in the backfield.
- 59:32That will open up the the wide receivers and open up the
- 59:36throwing game with Jalen Hurts. I expect Jalen Hurts.
- 59:38We've seen Jalen Hurts show up in playoff games.
- 59:40I'm I'm going to bet that Jalen Hurts is going to show up in
- 59:43this game and put pressure on the 49ers defense, the 49ers
- 59:47defense. Did you hear that Robert Sall is
- 59:49getting interviewed by Ravens? By the Ravens?
- 59:51What a. So is Matt Mackey.
- 59:53What a joke. What are the Ravens thinking?
- 59:56You're going to bring in Robert Salle after you saw that The
- 59:58buckle, the New York Jets all breaks.
- 1:00:01No guess. What's next?
- 1:00:02Are we going if he gets brought in, just break?
- 1:00:04No guess. You know, I, I don't know what
- 1:00:06he's going to do over there with the Baltimore Ravens if he gets
- 1:00:09hired nevertheless. Has he had a good season as
- 1:00:12defensive corner? Better than you would expect.
- 1:00:14He lost a lot of pieces. He lost Joe, he lost Nick Bosa.
- 1:00:17He lost one of the best linebackers in in all the
- 1:00:20football. There he is, Bambi I.
- 1:00:22Mean. Bambino, I'll call him Bambino
- 1:00:25if he goes over a little Baltimore Ravens.
- 1:00:26But I, I mean, the 49ers are dangerous.
- 1:00:29Brock Pretty has looked as good as any quarterback in the last
- 1:00:32three weeks. He has been efficient And I, I
- 1:00:36will say this, Christian McCaffrey is one of the most
- 1:00:38dangerous players. This is what I love about these
- 1:00:41games, you get to watch two of the great running backs in the
- 1:00:44league, 2 guys that were drafted in the same draft and Christian
- 1:00:47McAfee. I think it was drafted by
- 1:00:48Carolina as the 7th pick and Sacro Barkley was drafted by the
- 1:00:52giants #2 So this is, this is going to be a fun, fun game.
- 1:00:58Battle of two star running backs, 2 sensational running
- 1:01:01backs, 2 Hall of Famers in running backs.
- 1:01:04I, I think this is going to be fun.
- 1:01:06I think that's what you're going to look at this game and what
- 1:01:08defense is going to show up in the game.
- 1:01:10Is it going to be the Eagles defense?
- 1:01:11It's going to put so much pressure on Brock Purdy where
- 1:01:13Brock Purdy is going to make mistakes.
- 1:01:14We've seen the Eagles defense show up against the the 49ers
- 1:01:17over the years and absolutely pulverized.
- 1:01:19I remember it was the Eagles that knocked out Brock Purdy a
- 1:01:22couple of years ago and eventually sent the Eagles to
- 1:01:25the Super Bowl. I remember that game.
- 1:01:27So I, I expect the Eagles to put a lot of pressure on Brock Purdy
- 1:01:30and I expect Brock Purdy to roll out and do the things that Brock
- 1:01:33Purdy does very well. And I expect this game to be,
- 1:01:37you know, go to the end and, and take it to the end.
- 1:01:39And and these coaches, both coaches, I'm not a big fan of.
- 1:01:43Yes, we know. And what's interesting about the
- 1:01:4549ers is their pass rush has not been as good and the Eagles
- 1:01:48offensive line hasn't been as good to strength for those teams
- 1:01:51over the years. And really the last seven years
- 1:01:53when they've been great with those defenses, Robert Salas
- 1:01:56since they lost Nick Bosa, his their their defenses pressure
- 1:01:58rate has been very low. And their rookies, they've
- 1:02:00played all right, but they haven't been as good as expected
- 1:02:02either. And the Eagles offensive line
- 1:02:04since they've had these injuries have not been as good either.
- 1:02:06What I'm curious on is 2 things with the 49ers offense.
- 1:02:09Brock Purdy, we've seen Kyle Shanahan roll out and run more
- 1:02:13since he's come back from injury, which the Eagles
- 1:02:14sometimes have had issue against running quarterbacks in the
- 1:02:16past. And then on the Niners side,
- 1:02:18Robert Sala's defenses will always struggle with running
- 1:02:20quarterback. You were complaining about it
- 1:02:21all the time with The Jets. How much, how much you like
- 1:02:25quarterbacks? Ron against Ron, Wild against
- 1:02:27him and pass catching running backs too is the other one.
- 1:02:29What you going to do when Robert Salad screws up on you?
- 1:02:33Yeah. He could he could burn all those
- 1:02:35receipts eventually. But the other one that The Jets
- 1:02:37have always struggled against and the 49ers have struggled
- 1:02:39against when Salah was there was pass catching running back.
- 1:02:42Yet Saquon Barkley not as much of A volume of the passing game.
- 1:02:45Will Kevin Petullo actually be smarter off and use him as a
- 1:02:48pass catching running back in this game and take advantage of
- 1:02:50it too? Because I think the passing game
- 1:02:51you mentioned, Jalen Hurts sometimes gets it going later in
- 1:02:54the season. The first couple games in
- 1:02:55playoff career, he didn't have to do much.
- 1:02:56They blew out the Giants and obviously they blew out the
- 1:02:5849ers once pretty got hurt and they had like 4 quarterbacks
- 1:03:00play for them. But since then, he played really
- 1:03:03well in that Super Bowl. He played really well last year
- 1:03:05in pretty much every playoff game in their route to the Super
- 1:03:08Bowl. So they've had their stretches
- 1:03:10of it, too. I just think that you look at
- 1:03:13the mobility aspect with Jalen Hurts against this type of
- 1:03:15defense, I think that's going to be too much for the Eagles or
- 1:03:17for the 49ers. I think you need to talk about
- 1:03:19George Kittle a little bit in this matchup because having a
- 1:03:21real tight end like that who can block inline for CMC is more
- 1:03:26than what Saquon has this year. That line's not healthy.
- 1:03:29That line is not the same line. Lane Johnson, right?
- 1:03:32They've lost a lot of people. They're not playing at the same
- 1:03:35level they were last year. So what what what happened?
- 1:03:39Saquon ran for what was it, speedy 1200 yards.
- 1:03:42This year it wasn't. It wasn't anything special.
- 1:03:45He had a obviously 2000 a year before.
- 1:03:48Obviously they talk about having 400 carries like there's a sweet
- 1:03:52spot where if you have the ball too much the next year you're
- 1:03:55worn out. It makes a lot of sense.
- 1:03:56CMP maybe not getting the same yards per carry he used to get,
- 1:04:00but guess what? He's still catching the ball.
- 1:04:02He had almost 1000 yards receiving and he had over 1000
- 1:04:06yards rushing. He almost pulled the Marshall
- 1:04:08Faulk season and arrow and he's almost 30.
- 1:04:11So I mean this, this guy's a legend.
- 1:04:14But what he can do is a lot of time is dependent on good
- 1:04:18blocking. And it used to be Iuke back in
- 1:04:20the day. And and Kittle, they don't
- 1:04:21really have Iuke. They have Jennings as a decent
- 1:04:23blocker, not to that level, but Kittle is the best blocking
- 1:04:27tight end and one of the top five pass catching tight ends.
- 1:04:30At the same time. He is an all around player.
- 1:04:33In other sports they'd call him a two way player, right?
- 1:04:36And that's why, like I, I think you said you were talking about
- 1:04:38earlier, Puka Nakua. I I would say he had the best
- 1:04:40receiver, even better than a best year this year for a
- 1:04:43receiver, even better than JSN, because what he can do impacts
- 1:04:46the game at all the different phases.
- 1:04:48He's such a good blocker. He's such a good like catch
- 1:04:51radius guy. He makes one handed catches that
- 1:04:53are ridiculous too, just like JSN.
- 1:04:55But he he's open when he's not open more than anybody else.
- 1:04:59He's he's unstoppable right now. So he's a guy that makes them
- 1:05:02infinitely better. And Kittle's kind of similar and
- 1:05:06I think doesn't get enough love. You know, he like he's got like
- 1:05:09Kelsey obviously going to Hall of Fame.
- 1:05:10But Kelsey didn't block like this.
- 1:05:13He was an off ball tight end. He was not putting his hand down
- 1:05:16like this. Kittle is basically an offensive
- 1:05:18lineman, kind of like how Gronk was.
- 1:05:20Not so that, maybe not so. He's got his hand down Mr. Mrs.
- 1:05:23Swifty's little skirt. That's I mean, what does he have
- 1:05:26to block? He is.
- 1:05:28All he's got to do is is. I'll share the better change her
- 1:05:31name, right? Her name is like too famous,
- 1:05:33right? She can't change it, right?
- 1:05:37Somebody's got a swift, you know, give him a swift kick in
- 1:05:39the ass. And anyways, we've got the
- 1:05:41Chargers and the Patriots Sunday Night Football.
- 1:05:45The Patriots are a very interesting team and the reason
- 1:05:50why is it's Drake May. Drake May has had a great year,
- 1:05:52but the the the season that they've had, I know there's a
- 1:05:56lot of questions because of their schedule, and I know you
- 1:05:59play whoever's on your schedule, but they have beat a lot of bad
- 1:06:02teams. They have, and they won 10 games
- 1:06:05in a row, and if you look at the schedule that really set them up
- 1:06:08for those ten wins, yet you have your head scratching Now, that
- 1:06:12doesn't mean that the Patriots can't win a Super Bowl.
- 1:06:14That doesn't mean they can't make a run with Mike Vrabel.
- 1:06:17That doesn't mean that Drake May doesn't deserve all the
- 1:06:19accolades that he's gotten. But as good as their offenses
- 1:06:23been this year, what defenses have they played against?
- 1:06:26I mean, honestly, I there's, there's nothing.
- 1:06:29And everyone says, well, Buffalo, well, Buffalo didn't
- 1:06:31become the defense they'd become until the second-half of the
- 1:06:34season. Their first half was horrible.
- 1:06:36I had them on my I had the Buffalo defense on one of my
- 1:06:39fantasy teams. I know what Buffalo's defense
- 1:06:42was doing. So I'm not saying that the
- 1:06:45Chargers are, are going to be worried that they're going to
- 1:06:49have to go into New England and beat the Patriots.
- 1:06:51The question and if this is going to be the problem, how
- 1:06:54cold is it going to be in New England?
- 1:06:56Travelling from east to West is a bad.
- 1:06:58It's been a big problem for the Chargers and Justin Herbert, how
- 1:07:01healthy is he? We all know that their offensive
- 1:07:04line is not healthy. Johnson, Slater, I I mean Makai,
- 1:07:10Becton, Alt. This is one of the best
- 1:07:13offensive lines when healthy. They don't have any of those
- 1:07:16guys really. I mean, you have to worry for
- 1:07:19Justin Herbert. I mean, he's been running for
- 1:07:20care of life. He's been hit as much as any
- 1:07:22quarterback in the league. And they have a good running
- 1:07:25game. Or do they?
- 1:07:27I, I, I don't know, maybe, maybe I don't know what to expect.
- 1:07:32Their wide receiving core, Nothing to it, nothing that
- 1:07:35impressive. I mean, the only thing is, is
- 1:07:37they have Jim Harbaugh. And I trust Jim Harbaugh in a
- 1:07:42big game, maybe a little more than Mike Frable, because Jim
- 1:07:46Harbaugh's gone to a Super Bowl. Jim Harbaugh's won a national
- 1:07:49championship. Jim Harbaugh has gone to the
- 1:07:52Chargers and in two years has had back-to-back 11 or more win
- 1:07:57seasons. I expect the Chargers to put a
- 1:08:00lot of pressure on the Patriots because the Patriots are
- 1:08:02expected to run right through the Chargers and the Chargers,
- 1:08:07who are a seventh seat, snuck into the playoffs and really had
- 1:08:12to crawl into the playoffs. Still have the ability to put a
- 1:08:15point, still have the defense. This is one of the best defenses
- 1:08:18in the league, one of the best defense and one of the best
- 1:08:21young defensive coordinators in all the football who's going to
- 1:08:25get a job possibly in the offseason.
- 1:08:27So we all know the position. Yeah.
- 1:08:30The Patriots that have a very good front seven that could put
- 1:08:33pressure on you and have a good defense.
- 1:08:35I, I, I don't know how great their defense is, but you know,
- 1:08:38Mike Vrabel has packages we haven't seen.
- 1:08:42And we all know what the Chargers are going to do.
- 1:08:44They're secondary, what they can do in the open field, how they
- 1:08:48like to spy you spies in the open field to try to intercept
- 1:08:51the ball. I, I, they're definitely a lot
- 1:08:54better than the New York Jets, There's no question.
- 1:08:56But I I I will say this, the Chargers are expected to lose
- 1:09:00this game, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Chargers pull
- 1:09:04out a win. It's interesting because Jim
- 1:09:06Harbaugh loves to play physical the cold weather football and
- 1:09:08you have to do that in New England, but the patriots have
- 1:09:10the number one run defensive football.
- 1:09:12So that will they able to get that going without the offensive
- 1:09:15line will be another question. Neither of these teams have
- 1:09:16receivers you can trust and but obviously both these teams have
- 1:09:19quarterbacks you could trust. But I, I still think just the
- 1:09:22right Mike Rabel's no rookie either.
- 1:09:24He's used to these types of settings with the Titans in the
- 1:09:25playoffs too, beating some really good teams.
- 1:09:28And he's had a good track record over the years against the
- 1:09:29Chiefs and the Ravens. So I would give a pay, give the
- 1:09:31Patriots the slight edge, but I would say the charters will keep
- 1:09:35it tight. And then, ladies and gentlemen,
- 1:09:39the final game of the week, the Texans face off against the
- 1:09:47Pittsburgh Rodger, Britney Spears, Steelers.
- 1:09:53I will say this, I believe Aaron Rodgers is as dangerous as any
- 1:10:00quarterback we've seen over the years.
- 1:10:02You saw what he did on Sunday night, final game of the season.
- 1:10:06Baltimore look like they were going to run away.
- 1:10:08They they had that touchdown, bad defense on the secondary.
- 1:10:12Porter was nowhere to be found. Flower runs it in.
- 1:10:14It was simple. And then he took the ball all
- 1:10:16the way down the field and got it to Austin and and had that
- 1:10:21run all the way down the field. It was unbelievable.
- 1:10:23Aaron Rodgers asked, and Aaron Rodgers is a shell of who he
- 1:10:26was. There's no question that he is.
- 1:10:29But what the Pittsburgh Steelers can do with Mike Tomlin and
- 1:10:32Aaron Rodgers is unique. And the Texans, yeah, their
- 1:10:36front 7 is sensational. Their defense, their secondary
- 1:10:39is as good as anybody. They're they have two of the
- 1:10:41best safeties in the league. They could do so many things
- 1:10:44that we they're the best defense by far, I think in the NFL, the
- 1:10:47best defense I've seen since the Baltimore Ravens in 2000.
- 1:10:51That's how good their defense is.
- 1:10:52And younger and younger than that Baltimore Ravens team.
- 1:10:58But I'm going to tell you guys something and I'm going to be
- 1:11:01honest with you. If there's any team that could
- 1:11:04shock the world and surprise everybody, it's the Pittsburgh
- 1:11:08Steelers, the Steelers. And by the way, Mike Tomlin
- 1:11:10haven't won a playoff game in eight seasons, eight seasons.
- 1:11:14He could be gone after this year.
- 1:11:16He might walk away if Aaron Rodgers does not get signed.
- 1:11:20But guess what? This might be the year.
- 1:11:23This might be the year that they pull off the impossible knock
- 1:11:27off a Texan team that to me a lot of people think could go to
- 1:11:31the Super Bowl, could win in the AFC and go all the way to the
- 1:11:36Super Bowl and win a Super Bowl this year with CJ Stroud.
- 1:11:38What he's put up over the second-half of the season, what
- 1:11:41this defense has done the the, the pressure that they put their
- 1:11:44front seven in Anderson, who has been unbelievable, Will
- 1:11:47Anderson, Alabama Crimson Tide alumni, and then the secretary
- 1:11:54of this, this, this prolific defense that could just shut you
- 1:11:58down in many different ways. If there's anybody that can put
- 1:12:03it and shove it down their throats and surprise, it shocked
- 1:12:07the world. I've seen it before.
- 1:12:09It's Aaron, Brittany Rodgers. I'll keep it quick as our guest
- 1:12:14is in. Yes, I I see him.
- 1:12:15Yes, it'll be interesting to see the Texans in a cold weather
- 1:12:18environment too. We're going up to Pittsburgh
- 1:12:19where it will be colder and the match up I want to focus on.
- 1:12:23Can the Texans run the ball against the Steelers bad run
- 1:12:25defense? Because it's the worst Steelers
- 1:12:26run defense we've seen in a while.
- 1:12:27But Houston's not been able to run the ball either.
- 1:12:29I agree with you. Rodgers will make the place to
- 1:12:30keep the game close, but again, this is not a very good Steelers
- 1:12:33team. We'll see.
- 1:12:34It would take a miracle, even in Pittsburgh, to get the win.
- 1:12:37Yeah, I, I'm rooting for Pittsburgh.
- 1:12:39I'd like to see Pittsburgh shock the world and and move on.
- 1:12:43But I, I don't know if that's possible, but if there's anybody
- 1:12:45that can do it, it's Aaron Rodgers and Mike Tomlin.
- 1:12:48I, I have this feeling that, you know, Mike Tomlin might have
- 1:12:51something up his sleeve. Finally, after eight seasons
- 1:12:54just falling short in the first round in the wild cards in the
- 1:12:57first whatever semi finals, he can't win a playoff game.
- 1:13:00All right, my deuce of the day, The deuce of the day you log not
- 1:13:06a log. I don't have a log, but I was
- 1:13:16thinking hard. I was thinking really, really
- 1:13:19hard of the deuce of the day. And ladies and gentlemen, my
- 1:13:23deuce has to go to the New York Rangers.
- 1:13:27I have to. I wrote a story about it because
- 1:13:29James friggin Dolan and we will do this article.
- 1:13:34James friggin Dolan was on the Craig Carton show in his first
- 1:13:39appearance back on WFAN and he went out and and Carton brings
- 1:13:44up, he was talking about the Knicks and then he went to the
- 1:13:46Rangers and he says, what do you think about the Rangers?
- 1:13:49And he says, wow, we got to build camaraderie.
- 1:13:52We got to build. The team needs to be put
- 1:13:54together. They need to work together.
- 1:13:56Things need to work from the bottom to the top.
- 1:13:59And why I think this is just an absolute debacle is I don't want
- 1:14:03to hear James Dolan give me his take on what jury needs to do or
- 1:14:07what jury's going to do because he's done it enough.
- 1:14:11There's there's not many, there's not many GMs, there's
- 1:14:14not many executives in sports history that's been with the
- 1:14:18team for five years, five years and has had how many coaches,
- 1:14:23Speedy? 4. 5 because he got handed a
- 1:14:26coach. 5 coaches, 5 coaches he's coached.
- 1:14:31I mean, he's been an executive for to me, it's embarrassing.
- 1:14:36If you're a Ranger fan and you hear James Dolan, your owner,
- 1:14:38come out and say, well, you know, you got to build
- 1:14:41camaraderie. We're going to build from the
- 1:14:43top. I trust him.
- 1:14:43And Mike Sullivan, Well, what about him and Peter Laviolette?
- 1:14:47Peter Laviolette, who won a Stanley Cup, he's one of the
- 1:14:51greatest coaches in NHL history, 7th all time and wins.
- 1:14:56You're going to tell me right now, James, are you going to bet
- 1:14:58me right now that this man Chris Jury is going to figure it out
- 1:15:02all of a sudden? Come on, that's the deuce.
- 1:15:07That's all I'm going to say. I have more to give on this
- 1:15:09article which will be out tomorrow.
- 1:15:11I can't wait for everybody to read.
- 1:15:13My deuce of the day goes to James freaking Dolan on his
- 1:15:16stupid take on Chris Drury. Thank you to Wes, Thank you to
- 1:15:20the one and only guy we call Reno, Reno, Johnny for giving us
- 1:15:24their picks. Congratulations to Miami moving
- 1:15:26on to their national champion. Last time they went to a
- 1:15:29national championship was in the 90s.
- 1:15:31It's been a long time coming from Miami and Miami Hurricane
- 1:15:35football. And they're going to get a
- 1:15:38chance to play either the Hoosiers or the Ducks tomorrow.
- 1:15:41We will find out who is going to meet them in the national
- 1:15:44championship and I'm sure Lane Kiffin wasn't happy about this
- 1:15:48loss, that's for sure. Anyways, thank you to our
