- 0:07Speaker 2: I get across the tracks, then roughly twenty feet through
- 0:11Speaker 2: the pass and I hear a houler.
- 0:14Speaker 3: It was more of a whoop, a very demonic and
- 0:17Speaker 3: malicious whoop.
- 0:20Speaker 4: My heart was racing from the impact and now seeing
- 0:23Speaker 4: what I could only assume to be a person.
- 0:26Speaker 5: At this point, I was just too scared to even
- 0:28Speaker 5: lift a finger. And even though I didn't understand everything
- 0:31Speaker 5: that was going on, I knew it wasn't okay.

- 1:36Speaker 3: This week.
- 1:37Speaker 6: I'm bringing you five true horrifying tales and a listener
- 1:41Speaker 6: voicemail that will frighten and disturb. So sit back and
- 1:47Speaker 6: listen close as we dive into the horror as we
- 1:53Speaker 6: creep along through the spookiest month of the year. I'm
- 1:55Speaker 6: here to remind you that next week is our annual
- 1:58Speaker 6: Halloween Special, and it's there's one you won't want to miss,
- 2:01Speaker 6: so be ready now. Then we open the show with
- 2:05Speaker 6: a listener submission from Trevor featuring voice work by Matt Bradford,
- 2:10Speaker 6: and we have a run in with the crazy clowns.
- 2:16Speaker 2: I was living in a little city in northeastern Utah
- 2:19Speaker 2: with my then fiancee on our newborn sun. We live
- 2:22Speaker 2: close to my place of work, and since we currently
- 2:24Speaker 2: only had one vehicle, I would leave it for her
- 2:27Speaker 2: in case of emergency and walk my happy ass to work.
- 2:30Speaker 3: Each early morning.
- 2:31Speaker 2: Now around this time is when there was the crazy
- 2:34Speaker 2: clown shit going on, and random people and clown costumes
- 2:37Speaker 2: with weapons were found in crazy places and would chase
- 2:40Speaker 2: the people they encountered.
- 2:41Speaker 3: In our area.
- 2:42Speaker 2: There was a police warning of these crazy clowns being
- 2:45Speaker 2: everywhere on Halloween morning, especially in train stations, so as
- 2:49Speaker 2: it goes, I had to walk through a train station
- 2:52Speaker 2: on my path to work on Halloween morning. I'm aware
- 2:56Speaker 2: that these clowns have already been seen nearby more than
- 2:58Speaker 2: a couple times. I did my best to prepare myself.
- 3:02Speaker 2: I woke up and got ready for work, made sure
- 3:05Speaker 2: to grab my biggest knife roughly six inch hunting knife
- 3:08Speaker 2: and my baton just in case. I'm walking as quickly
- 3:11Speaker 2: as I can, telling myself that everything is okay and
- 3:14Speaker 2: there's absolutely no fucking way I'm going to encounter one
- 3:17Speaker 2: of these loons. As I approach the train station, my
- 3:21Speaker 2: mouth goes dry, my heart beat quickens tenfold, my palms
- 3:24Speaker 2: get sweaty, and I grasp the hill to my main
- 3:27Speaker 2: line of self defense, my knife. I get to the
- 3:30Speaker 2: station and start walking across to continue on my path,
- 3:34Speaker 2: scanning back and forth sporadically, thinking I was just moments
- 3:37Speaker 2: away from death, but no clowns in any direction. I
- 3:42Speaker 2: take a breath of relief, let go of the hilts,
- 3:45Speaker 2: and shake my head, telling myself I was stupid for
- 3:47Speaker 2: worrying myself like that. I get across the tracks, then
- 3:52Speaker 2: roughly twenty feet through the pass and I hear a holler.
- 3:56Speaker 3: It was more of a whoop, a very demonic and
- 3:59Speaker 3: militia whoop.
- 4:01Speaker 2: I had dan near shit myself and froze you, knowing
- 4:04Speaker 2: I had to turn around to see whatever made that sound,
- 4:06Speaker 2: but couldn't get myself to move.
- 4:09Speaker 3: After what felt like a lifetime, I.
- 4:11Speaker 2: Was able to turn my head just enough to see
- 4:13Speaker 2: not one, but two of these fucking clowns standing behind me.
- 4:17Speaker 3: I mean, where the hell did they come from?
- 4:19Speaker 2: So I immediately started running as fast as I possibly could.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Now I was in steel toe work boots, with a
- 4:25Speaker 2: backpack and a water jug in my hold. I wasn't
- 4:28Speaker 2: moving fast enough, and they were closing in quick. And
- 4:30Speaker 2: one of them had a grizzly mass that looked like
- 4:32Speaker 2: a broken faced demon with bright green hair and was
- 4:35Speaker 2: holding what appeared to be a machete, and the other
- 4:37Speaker 2: looked like the queen from fucking Wonderland, and she was
- 4:40Speaker 2: holding a damn sword. Not like a dagger or not
- 4:42Speaker 2: like a catana, but I'm talking of full fledged King
- 4:45Speaker 2: Arthur Excalibur's sword.
- 4:47Speaker 3: I swear to you, I thought I was gonna die.
- 4:49Speaker 2: I ran for my life and made it to the
- 4:51Speaker 2: entrance of my work just as they were catching up
- 4:53Speaker 2: to me. I immediately ran to my boss, out of
- 4:56Speaker 2: breath and crying.
- 4:58Speaker 3: I told him what just happened to me.
- 5:00Speaker 2: He gathered the crew that had already arrived, and as
- 5:03Speaker 2: an angry mob would they went together outside, but there
- 5:08Speaker 2: were no clowns to be seen. I don't know where
- 5:11Speaker 2: they went. Hell, i don't even know where they came from.
- 5:13Speaker 2: I'm not sure if anything would have happened had they
- 5:16Speaker 2: caught me.
- 5:17Speaker 3: But to the.
- 5:17Speaker 2: Crazy ass people that thought they were clowns roaming the
- 5:20Speaker 2: streets at four in the morning, stop doing drugs, and
- 5:25Speaker 2: I sincerely hope no one ever meets you again.
- 5:35Speaker 1: Are you listening alone? Rather? Brave of you?
- 5:42Speaker 6: Up next week, check in with Reddit user Hello World
- 5:44Speaker 6: five five five at ten eighteen, featuring voicework by Sarah Thomas,
- 5:49Speaker 6: and we learn a valuable lesson about helping strangers.
- 5:56Speaker 4: For the purposes of this post, I'm using a throwaway
- 5:59Speaker 4: account and will use a fake name. This happened a
- 6:03Speaker 4: few days ago while I was on my way home
- 6:05Speaker 4: from visiting my friend's house. I was driving on a
- 6:08Speaker 4: back road late at night in my Tesla Model three
- 6:11Speaker 4: while it was on auto drive. I'll admit that I
- 6:14Speaker 4: was not paying attention to the road and I was
- 6:16Speaker 4: on my phone while I had my music in the
- 6:18Speaker 4: car playing. The ride was okay and chill for a while.
- 6:22Speaker 4: But I'm not really sure of other details because I
- 6:25Speaker 4: was not paying attention to the time. Out of nowhere,
- 6:29Speaker 4: my car immediately braked and made an alarming sound. I
- 6:33Speaker 4: was scared shitless and immediately took control of the wheel
- 6:36Speaker 4: and looked through the windshield. When I looked, I saw
- 6:39Speaker 4: a figure standing inches from my car, barely avoiding being hit.
- 6:44Speaker 4: My heart was racing from the impact and now seeing
- 6:47Speaker 4: what I could only assume to be a person. They
- 6:50Speaker 4: didn't even flinch from the sight of almost being hit.
- 6:54Speaker 4: I looked at them for a good ten seconds before
- 6:56Speaker 4: I put my car in part and turned on the
- 6:58Speaker 4: megaphone to ask them, are they okay. They didn't respond
- 7:03Speaker 4: and proceeded to walk near my window. I locked my
- 7:07Speaker 4: doors while they were approaching because I was terrified. They
- 7:10Speaker 4: asked me if I could roll the window down to
- 7:13Speaker 4: speak to them, but I refused and told them that
- 7:16Speaker 4: I could hear them from the other side. I then
- 7:18Speaker 4: asked them why they were out here all alone in
- 7:20Speaker 4: the cold, and they told me that their car had
- 7:22Speaker 4: broken down and that they were hoping someone would stop
- 7:25Speaker 4: to help them. As they were talking, I got a
- 7:28Speaker 4: good look at their face and they appeared to be
- 7:31Speaker 4: twenty five, thirty years old. After the small talk they attempted,
- 7:35Speaker 4: I told them that I would be calling someone to
- 7:37Speaker 4: come assist them with their situation. They weren't happy with
- 7:41Speaker 4: that and insisted that I dropped them off to a
- 7:43Speaker 4: friend's house who lived nearby. That's when I became really
- 7:48Speaker 4: freaked out and suspicious. They had told me they were
- 7:51Speaker 4: waiting for someone, and now they needed to be dropped off.
- 7:55Speaker 4: I then put my car back into drive and told
- 7:57Speaker 4: them again from the window, since the megaphone is not
- 8:00Speaker 4: available in park, that I would call someone to come
- 8:03Speaker 4: help them. They then tried to reach for the door handle,
- 8:07Speaker 4: but I guess they forgot that Tesla handles are embedded
- 8:10Speaker 4: into the car. When they did that, I immediately stepped on
- 8:13Speaker 4: the pedal and went flying down the road. I didn't
- 8:17Speaker 4: even look into my rear view mirror or put the
- 8:19Speaker 4: car back into autopilot the whole ride back. I was
- 8:22Speaker 4: scared shitless. I just got back onto the main road
- 8:26Speaker 4: where I hoped to see cars, and just floored at home.
- 8:30Speaker 4: I couldn't get my mind off of it for the
- 8:31Speaker 4: rest of the night. I have suspicions that that guy
- 8:35Speaker 4: was not alone and that there were other people with them.
- 8:39Speaker 4: I pray that they didn't get someone else who wasn't
- 8:41Speaker 4: as lucky as me. I will never in my life
- 8:44Speaker 4: stop to help some random person ever. Again.
- 8:53Speaker 3: Are you loving the show?
- 8:55Speaker 1: Let us know with a positive rating and review in
- 8:58Speaker 1: return will help you had the body.
- 9:02Speaker 6: Coming up next, we have a listener submission from Sierra
- 9:06Speaker 6: featuring voice work by Tanya Ebe and we meet the
- 9:09Speaker 6: man they call Logan.
- 9:17Speaker 7: My family, mom, stepfather, twin sister, and myself twenty two female,
- 9:22Speaker 7: moved to a rural town in Illinois when I was
- 9:25Speaker 7: ten years old. My twin sister and I weren't exactly
- 9:28Speaker 7: thrilled about the move, and what we heard about the
- 9:31Speaker 7: previous owner definitely didn't make settling in any easier. A
- 9:36Speaker 7: family friend of the previous owner, who tended the garden
- 9:39Speaker 7: out back, told us that the old man who lived there,
- 9:42Speaker 7: whose name was Logan, died in the house. Nothing crazy,
- 9:46Speaker 7: just old age and health issues, I guess, but it
- 9:49Speaker 7: was enough to freak my twin and I out, especially
- 9:52Speaker 7: when little, unexplained things started happening around the house. The
- 9:55Speaker 7: first time I noticed anything weird was a few months later.
- 9:59Speaker 7: I was walking up the basement stairs when I just
- 10:01Speaker 7: felt someone staring down at me from the top landing.
- 10:06Speaker 7: I froze for a moment, hoping that it was just
- 10:08Speaker 7: my ten year old imagination getting the best of me.
- 10:11Speaker 7: I booked it up the stairs and back into the house,
- 10:14Speaker 7: trying to shake the feeling, but I couldn't stop thinking
- 10:17Speaker 7: about it for months. Little things like that happened pretty
- 10:20Speaker 7: regularly for about four years, but didn't really escalate until
- 10:25Speaker 7: my twin moved out and went to live with our dad.
- 10:28Speaker 7: Then it started to get a little creepier. I would
- 10:32Speaker 7: be doing the dishes after the sun went down, facing
- 10:34Speaker 7: the window that looked out to the back garden when
- 10:37Speaker 7: I'd see a person's silhouette in the reflection of the
- 10:39Speaker 7: glass standing in the doorway to the spare room. The
- 10:43Speaker 7: room didn't have a door, so it was just pitch
- 10:45Speaker 7: black beyond the door frame, but this silhouette looked like
- 10:48Speaker 7: it was level with it looking out at me. While
- 10:51Speaker 7: I finished my chores, I whipped around to see who
- 10:54Speaker 7: was behind me, knowing that it wasn't my mother because
- 10:57Speaker 7: it was too tall and my stepfather was at work.
- 11:01Speaker 7: I told myself that I was freaking myself out. Watching
- 11:04Speaker 7: too many creepy pasta videos before bed, or maybe I
- 11:08Speaker 7: was just really tired, But deep down I knew that
- 11:12Speaker 7: there was someone watching me. More often than not, it
- 11:15Speaker 7: kept happening. Every time I was in the kitchen after
- 11:18Speaker 7: dark or in the upstairs bathroom. Someone was always watching me.
- 11:23Speaker 7: I never felt threatened by it, but it always sent
- 11:26Speaker 7: chills up my spine. I always got the feeling that
- 11:29Speaker 7: it was an old man, the old owner.
- 11:31Speaker 6: Of the house.
- 11:32Speaker 7: So eventually I started telling Logan that he was creeping
- 11:35Speaker 7: me out and to leave me alone. It worked for
- 11:38Speaker 7: a while. The last experiences I had were right before
- 11:41Speaker 7: I moved out after graduation, and they're the ones that
- 11:44Speaker 7: I think about almost every day. There was a mirror
- 11:47Speaker 7: at the end of the hall upstairs, and on the
- 11:49Speaker 7: other end was the bathroom. The door was installed wrong
- 11:54Speaker 7: or at an angle or something, so it always closed
- 11:56Speaker 7: on its own, but stad cracked open so you could
- 12:00Speaker 7: just barely see inside. It was early afternoon this particular day,
- 12:04Speaker 7: and I had just finished getting ready to hang out
- 12:06Speaker 7: with friends, so I was doing whatevery gen Z girl
- 12:08Speaker 7: does in her spare time, taking mirror selfies. I was
- 12:12Speaker 7: trying to find the right pose for the most epic
- 12:14Speaker 7: snapshot of my cute outfit. When something absolutely bone chilling happened.
- 12:20Speaker 7: In the reflection of the mirror, I saw someone's shadow
- 12:23Speaker 7: cross the bathroom. It was just me and my mom
- 12:26Speaker 7: at home, and she was downstairs right below me in
- 12:29Speaker 7: the living room watching TV. I sprinted down the stairs
- 12:32Speaker 7: and told my mom what I saw, and all she
- 12:34Speaker 7: said was, Oh, it's just a logan, with a little
- 12:37Speaker 7: laugh and an unconcerned shrug. I avoided the upstairs bathroom
- 12:41Speaker 7: at all costs after that, even though my bedroom was
- 12:44Speaker 7: about ten steps away from it. The last one isn't
- 12:47Speaker 7: the creepiest, but I'm not the only one who experienced it.
- 12:51Speaker 7: I'd be up early in the morning, around four or
- 12:53Speaker 7: five a m. For work and hear someone clinking something
- 12:56Speaker 7: against the bathroom sink, like when a man shaves andps
- 13:00Speaker 7: his razor on the sink to get the excess hair
- 13:02Speaker 7: off the blades. I heard it often up until the
- 13:05Speaker 7: day I moved out, and to this day, my mom
- 13:08Speaker 7: and I still talk about it, even though neither of
- 13:11Speaker 7: us live there anymore. I tell myself that it wasn't
- 13:14Speaker 7: something sinister to make me feel better, but who knows
- 13:17Speaker 7: if it was logan or something else. I don't think
- 13:21Speaker 7: I want to find out.
- 13:30Speaker 4: Hey, everyone, Sarah Ruth Thomas here as a narrator for

- 15:55Speaker 6: Next up, we have an anonymous listener voicemail and we
- 15:59Speaker 6: potentially meet. It's an old friend, the hat Man.
- 16:05Speaker 9: Hey disturbed. I love listening to your guys' podcast. I
- 16:11Speaker 9: thought i'd go ahead and submit a story of my
- 16:14Speaker 9: own that happened a few years ago at my at
- 16:18Speaker 9: one of my grandma's houses. I'm going to get started
- 16:21Speaker 9: by saying the way this backyard was set up, because
- 16:24Speaker 9: that's where everything mostly takes place. You walk out of
- 16:28Speaker 9: the back door, and if you look to the right,
- 16:30Speaker 9: there's the gate that leads to the driveway, and if
- 16:35Speaker 9: you look to your left, they have their pool. You
- 16:38Speaker 9: go forward a little bit more and look to the right,
- 16:41Speaker 9: it has like a lounge area that has like a TV,
- 16:44Speaker 9: some chairs, and then like a ton of like stuff
- 16:46Speaker 9: in there that they're keeping. And then if you walk
- 16:50Speaker 9: forward towards the back of the backyard, towards the back,
- 16:55Speaker 9: there's like a fire pit, like a really big fire
- 16:57Speaker 9: pit with some chairs around it, and then there's a
- 17:01Speaker 9: shed that has like wood glass and like tons of tools,
- 17:06Speaker 9: and then all of the suspensed off. And the only
- 17:10Speaker 9: people that stay there is my grandma, one of her
- 17:14Speaker 9: friends and my dad used to stay there for a
- 17:19Speaker 9: little bit, and she has two dogs, and one of
- 17:22Speaker 9: the dogs is a decently big dog. I don't remember
- 17:24Speaker 9: what Breedy is, but he's a mixed breed. And then
- 17:26Speaker 9: the other one is the jack Russell. The jack Russell's
- 17:29Speaker 9: name is Mason, and then the other bigger dog is Rebel.
- 17:33Speaker 9: So they had left me there alone because they were
- 17:39Speaker 9: all going to go out to eat and I didn't
- 17:42Speaker 9: really want to go with And this was during the summer,
- 17:47Speaker 9: so I brought myself suit with so I could swim.
- 17:50Speaker 9: And you know, I was swimming until it got decently
- 17:54Speaker 9: late and it was getting kind of dark, but she
- 17:56Speaker 9: had like lights set up out there so that you're
- 18:00Speaker 9: to sleep. And while I was swimming around, I thought
- 18:03Speaker 9: I heard something, but I figured it was probably just
- 18:07Speaker 9: the dogs because they were sitting around like by the
- 18:11Speaker 9: pool and I was splashing someone around the ground so
- 18:14Speaker 9: that they could get some since they couldn't really swim,
- 18:16Speaker 9: but they liked the water. I went under the water
- 18:20Speaker 9: and swim around for a bit, and when I got back,
- 18:22Speaker 9: oh and looked at the dogs. They were growling in
- 18:26Speaker 9: an attack position and looked really alert while they were
- 18:29Speaker 9: staring at the shed that's near the back right of
- 18:32Speaker 9: the backyard. I was trying to look over there and
- 18:36Speaker 9: see what they're staring at. And I couldn't see anything
- 18:39Speaker 9: because it was all dark, so I kind of just
- 18:43Speaker 9: kept swimming, but I didn't go under the water in
- 18:45Speaker 9: case something happened, and I wanted to at least be
- 18:48Speaker 9: able to see. While I was taking the goggles off
- 18:51Speaker 9: that I had, they started barking at the back of
- 18:57Speaker 9: the shed, like they moved closer. They really little bit closer,
- 19:01Speaker 9: and we're just barking, mildly barking, and they were growling.
- 19:06Speaker 9: So I went ahead and got out and got a
- 19:07Speaker 9: towel to just wrap around me. I was going to
- 19:11Speaker 9: bring them back inside until I heard like a twig
- 19:13Speaker 9: snap or some of the wood that's behind there. I
- 19:17Speaker 9: heard something snap, and when I looked over there, it
- 19:21Speaker 9: was that tall figure. It was the top hat guy
- 19:24Speaker 9: that a lot of people have seen before, just standing
- 19:27Speaker 9: there like peering over the side of the shed like
- 19:32Speaker 9: he was looking from behind it, or at least from
- 19:35Speaker 9: the side. I screamed and ran back inside the house,
- 19:39Speaker 9: along with the dogs like following me in because I
- 19:42Speaker 9: was holding onto their collars. And once I got in,
- 19:45Speaker 9: I saw that he had moved all the way out
- 19:48Speaker 9: from the shed and was just standing there at the
- 19:50Speaker 9: back of the yard. So I got in, locked the door,
- 19:54Speaker 9: and turned most of the lights off and hid in
- 19:59Speaker 9: the living room. And I was debating on calling the cops,
- 20:04Speaker 9: but since I already had known what that thing is
- 20:07Speaker 9: and it's supposed to be dark energy or bad energy
- 20:11Speaker 9: something like that, cops can't help at all. So I
- 20:15Speaker 9: just waited and waited and until I thought it was
- 20:20Speaker 9: safe enough to at least turn the lights back on.
- 20:24Speaker 9: I started hearing a knocking or like a tapping on
- 20:29Speaker 9: the backyard door, and this door has one of the
- 20:33Speaker 9: screen doors. I opened the screen door up to try
- 20:38Speaker 9: and like see out of the people, and I couldn't
- 20:42Speaker 9: see him, but I knew he was there because I
- 20:44Speaker 9: couldn't see him ayhere else and there was no one
- 20:46Speaker 9: home besides me and the dogs, and they weren't supposed
- 20:49Speaker 9: to be back until like later. I tried to peer
- 20:53Speaker 9: out from one of the windows that was near there,
- 20:56Speaker 9: and I still couldn't see him. But as I was
- 20:59Speaker 9: walking back to the living room, the dogs were staring
- 21:03Speaker 9: at the window by the front door, and they were
- 21:08Speaker 9: growling like they were when they were in the backyard,
- 21:11Speaker 9: and he was there again. He was staring through that window,
- 21:16Speaker 9: but he was decently far away and by the tree
- 21:21Speaker 9: that's in the front. He was standing by that and
- 21:24Speaker 9: almost peering around it like he was with the shed.
- 21:27Speaker 9: So I went on hood and called my dad so
- 21:30Speaker 9: that I could tell him, Hey, there's like there's some
- 21:33Speaker 9: creepy shit going on. I need you guys to get
- 21:35Speaker 9: back I don't really feel comfortable staying here anymore, and
- 21:38Speaker 9: by myself. So they got back, and the thing had
- 21:43Speaker 9: disappeared a few minutes before they got back. It walked
- 21:46Speaker 9: off into like the backyard again, and it wasn't there anymore.
- 21:50Speaker 9: And there was always some creepy shit that happened at
- 21:52Speaker 9: this house anyway, so it wasn't anything out of the ordinary,
- 21:57Speaker 9: because there was a lot of paranormal things that happened.
- 22:00Speaker 9: I went ahead and told them all. I told my grandma,
- 22:03Speaker 9: her friend, and my dad what happened. The dogs were
- 22:09Speaker 9: still a little bit on the watch and on guard
- 22:12Speaker 9: for what had happened, but they were calming down. But yeah,
- 22:16Speaker 9: that's my story. Hope you enjoyed it.
- 22:21Speaker 1: Now.
- 22:21Speaker 6: A couple things on this one, because it might be
- 22:23Speaker 6: a new twist on our friend the hat man. You
- 22:25Speaker 6: mentioned you heard a twig snap and saw the figure. Now,
- 22:28Speaker 6: was this figure solid in nature, that is to say,
- 22:31Speaker 6: as clear as you would see any other person, or
- 22:34Speaker 6: did it appear to be more of an entity, less solid,
- 22:37Speaker 6: transparent or blurred in any way? I think answering that
- 22:41Speaker 6: might help clear up things in regards to if this
- 22:44Speaker 6: was just an actual person lurking around your property, or
- 22:47Speaker 6: if it really was our old pal the hat Man,
- 22:49Speaker 6: who has a bit more supernatural element to him and
- 22:52Speaker 6: has been mentioned in many cases of sleep paralysis, which
- 22:55Speaker 6: clearly isn't the case here. So Anonymous, if and when
- 22:58Speaker 6: you hear this, give us a call back on the
- 23:00Speaker 6: hotline and let me know how solid this figure really was,
- 23:04Speaker 6: and I'll be sure to update everyone on those developments.
- 23:09Speaker 3: Now.
- 23:09Speaker 6: Next up, we check in with Reddit user rasell two
- 23:11Speaker 6: twenty two, featuring voice work by Addison Peacock, and we
- 23:15Speaker 6: have a terrifyingly close call.
- 23:22Speaker 5: When I was a kid, my mom worked as a
- 23:23Speaker 5: teacher and she was very close to a coworker of
- 23:26Speaker 5: hers who had a son around my age and with
- 23:29Speaker 5: whom I as well was very close. When my mom
- 23:32Speaker 5: or her friend would head out for the night, the
- 23:34Speaker 5: other would take care of both of us kids, and
- 23:36Speaker 5: basically it meant I spent half my time over there
- 23:39Speaker 5: and my friend spent half his time at my house,
- 23:41Speaker 5: which was perfect and fun for us. We lived in
- 23:44Speaker 5: different cities, but since that kind of system had been
- 23:46Speaker 5: going on pretty much since forever, I grew up knowing
- 23:49Speaker 5: my friend's city just as well as mine. His mom
- 23:52Speaker 5: was well aware of that, so that being said, whenever
- 23:55Speaker 5: we were going on a walk in that area, she'd
- 23:57Speaker 5: let us wander around because she knew we'd always find
- 24:00Speaker 5: our way back to her. My mom, though, was more
- 24:02Speaker 5: cautious and always kept an eye on us as she'd
- 24:05Speaker 5: walk behind us to make sure she'd always be able
- 24:08Speaker 5: to see us. I just wish her friend would have
- 24:10Speaker 5: done the same. One day, I had to be around
- 24:13Speaker 5: six or seven. We were going on a walk with
- 24:15Speaker 5: my friend Marcus and his mom, Katie. It was a
- 24:18Speaker 5: very sunny day, and I was wearing a dress with
- 24:20Speaker 5: embroidered flowers, and I had my blond, long hair down.
- 24:24Speaker 5: I often heard that I was a pretty kid, even
- 24:27Speaker 5: from strangers in the street, and besides making me and
- 24:30Speaker 5: my parents somewhat uncomfortable, nothing bad ever happened during that walk.
- 24:34Speaker 3: Katie was walking.
- 24:35Speaker 5: Ahead of us, and I was chatting and just fooling
- 24:37Speaker 5: around with Marcus when he suddenly remembered something urgent to
- 24:41Speaker 5: tell his mom, as urgent as something.
- 24:42Speaker 3: Can be for an eight year old boy.
- 24:44Speaker 5: He ran up to her and left me strolling behind
- 24:47Speaker 5: for a couple of minutes, just as had already happened
- 24:49Speaker 5: one hundred times prior that time.
- 24:52Speaker 3: Though.
- 24:52Speaker 5: We were circling around a big camping site, and we
- 24:55Speaker 5: walked by the white vans and camping cars. One of
- 24:58Speaker 5: those vands had its back doors open, and there was
- 25:00Speaker 5: a man probably in his mid forties, smoking a cigarette
- 25:04Speaker 5: and leaning on the vehicle. He locked eyes with me
- 25:07Speaker 5: as I was approaching, then saw that Katie and Marcus
- 25:11Speaker 5: weren't paying much attention to me, as they were already
- 25:13Speaker 5: a couple of meters ahead. Then he proceeded to pull
- 25:17Speaker 5: me by my arm close to him, and so I
- 25:19Speaker 5: found myself with my body touching his. So weird it
- 25:22Speaker 5: out that I didn't even say a word, although I
- 25:25Speaker 5: knew Katie would have heard me if I called for help.
- 25:28Speaker 5: He leaned toward me, as he was obviously much taller
- 25:31Speaker 5: than I was muttering something I didn't get, and he
- 25:34Speaker 5: winked at me and kissed me on the lips, and
- 25:37Speaker 5: then pulled me to the open doors of his van.
- 25:40Speaker 5: At this point, if he had pushed me just a little,
- 25:42Speaker 5: I would have fallen in the truck. At this point,
- 25:45Speaker 5: I was just too scared to even lift a finger,
- 25:47Speaker 5: and even though I didn't understand everything that was going on,
- 25:50Speaker 5: I knew it wasn't okay. He put his hands on
- 25:53Speaker 5: the doors as if to close the vehicle, and I
- 25:55Speaker 5: felt my heart sink. At that exact moment, some other
- 25:59Speaker 5: man jawed toward us, in his forties as well, leaving
- 26:02Speaker 5: hello to me and saying something along the lines of
- 26:05Speaker 5: I lost sight of you for a bit. I was
- 26:07Speaker 5: so so scared. He had a very friendly look on
- 26:10Speaker 5: his face and was staring at me with great insistence
- 26:13Speaker 5: and with a huge reassuring smile, and the vanman awkwardly
- 26:17Speaker 5: laughed and yanked me out of the way of the car,
- 26:19Speaker 5: slamming the door shut. I ran to Katy as I
- 26:22Speaker 5: heard the van go off, and just acted as if
- 26:24Speaker 5: nothing happened. To this day, I never told that story
- 26:27Speaker 5: to anyone, not to Katie or Marcus, not to my mom, nobody.
- 26:32Speaker 5: I'm twenty two years old today, so to the friendly
- 26:36Speaker 5: guy who obviously didn't lose sight of me or whatever,
- 26:38Speaker 5: but just probably saw everything and wanted to interfere. From
- 26:41Speaker 5: the bottom of my heart, thank you to the pedophile
- 26:45Speaker 5: who surely would have abducted me, and who was strangely
- 26:48Speaker 5: okay with kissing a kid in public and in broad daylight.
- 26:51Speaker 5: I'm not even in the mood to add anything to
- 26:53Speaker 5: what happened, but everyone thinks the same thing as I do.
- 26:56Speaker 5: And I wish you hell, and let's not ever meet again,
- 27:00Speaker 5: though I think I'd be too old for you.
- 27:12Speaker 1: Are you terrified yet you will be?
- 27:18Speaker 6: And finally, we close out the show with a listener
- 27:20Speaker 6: submission from Sydney, featuring voice work by Nicole Dulin, and
- 27:25Speaker 6: we get tracked down.
- 27:31Speaker 8: My name is Sydney, and I have been listening to
- 27:33Speaker 8: the podcast for a while. I am just an average
- 27:36Speaker 8: teenager from Indiana, where nothing exciting happens very often, So
- 27:41Speaker 8: when this happened to me, I got the attention of
- 27:42Speaker 8: a good amount of people in my small town. I
- 27:45Speaker 8: want people to hear my story so they can be
- 27:47Speaker 8: wary and remember to always be vigilant. On August fifth,
- 27:52Speaker 8: twenty fifteen, I was at home alone that evening, while
- 27:55Speaker 8: my older sibling was at work and my parents were
- 27:58Speaker 8: out on a date, I was in the main living
- 28:00Speaker 8: room of my tri level house messaging my friends on
- 28:03Speaker 8: my phone at the time. For some backstory on this,
- 28:06Speaker 8: previous to the event, I had been getting messages from
- 28:09Speaker 8: a man from Canada whom I didn't know on Snapchat.
- 28:14Speaker 8: He was twenty three and had been sending me lude messages,
- 28:17Speaker 8: but I showed my parents and I blocked him. He
- 28:20Speaker 8: kept persisting, though he made multiple other accounts just to
- 28:23Speaker 8: harass me. He sent messages like I will go to
- 28:27Speaker 8: your house and gut you like a pig if you
- 28:29Speaker 8: don't talk to me darling. Seeing all of these messages
- 28:33Speaker 8: scared me to death, but eventually he stopped making new
- 28:36Speaker 8: accounts and sending threats to me, so I just left
- 28:39Speaker 8: it at that. Keep in mind that I stupidly kept
- 28:42Speaker 8: my location on at all times on Snapchat and completely
- 28:46Speaker 8: forgot about it, so that evening of August fifth, I
- 28:50Speaker 8: was just relaxing, texting my friends and taking care of
- 28:53Speaker 8: my dogs. But as I was messaging my friends, I
- 28:56Speaker 8: received a message saying I'm here for you. It was
- 29:01Speaker 8: super weird to me at the time, but now it
- 29:03Speaker 8: makes a lot of sense. But either way, it made
- 29:06Speaker 8: me super paranoid. So I went up to the front
- 29:08Speaker 8: door and locked it, then walked to the front blinds.
- 29:11Speaker 8: Before I could close them, though, I froze solid. There
- 29:16Speaker 8: was a man in my driveway staring directly at me.
- 29:20Speaker 8: I just stood there and stared at him until he moved,
- 29:23Speaker 8: and he sure did. He started moving towards the side
- 29:26Speaker 8: of my house, and I quickly closed the blinds and
- 29:29Speaker 8: went for the back door, locking that too. It was glass,
- 29:33Speaker 8: so I was scared that he would get to the
- 29:34Speaker 8: back and break it. My dogs were going wild at
- 29:38Speaker 8: this point and they weren't going to stop. I tried
- 29:41Speaker 8: to hush them, but it didn't work. I was looking
- 29:44Speaker 8: down at my dogs when I was trying to hush them,
- 29:46Speaker 8: but whenever I looked back up at the glass door,
- 29:49Speaker 8: the man was right there. I screamed loudly and stumbled backwards.
- 29:54Speaker 8: I was petrified. He started banging on the glass and yelling,
- 29:59Speaker 8: let me in love. He was saying it in a
- 30:02Speaker 8: loving manner at first, and it treaked me the fuck out.
- 30:06Speaker 8: Then he started yelling in an angered tone, open the door,
- 30:09Speaker 8: you fucking slut. I will kill you if you don't.
- 30:13Speaker 8: When he said that, I immediately just pulled up my
- 30:16Speaker 8: phone and took a picture of him. I don't know
- 30:18Speaker 8: what made me do this, but the only sense I
- 30:20Speaker 8: can make of myself doing that is if I were
- 30:23Speaker 8: to get murdered or kidnapped and they couldn't find the
- 30:25Speaker 8: person who did it, they could just look through my
- 30:27Speaker 8: phone if they had it. But after taking the picture,
- 30:30Speaker 8: I immediately called the police. I luckily lived only a
- 30:34Speaker 8: few streets away from the police station in my town,
- 30:37Speaker 8: so they could get to my house fast. When he
- 30:40Speaker 8: saw me on the phone, he ran off somewhere into
- 30:42Speaker 8: my backyard and hid. Then I hid. The police arrived
- 30:46Speaker 8: shortly after and went into the back They found the
- 30:49Speaker 8: man hiding behind my willow tree in the corner of
- 30:51Speaker 8: my backyard. They took him in and my family arrived
- 30:55Speaker 8: home quickly. I never heard from the man again, and
- 30:58Speaker 8: I don't know if he is in jail or not.
- 31:01Speaker 8: But either way, to the man who came to my
- 31:04Speaker 8: house and threatened me, let's never meet again.
