- 0:14Speaker 1: looking to lunch with the boys. We gotta eat lunch
- 0:17Speaker 1: with each other.
- 0:20Speaker 2: You done over there, and he's got a black shirt on.
- 0:25Speaker 2: There's brand right here, and he's got a blue shirt.
- 0:28Speaker 2: And then there's a bunch of people there that are
- 0:30Speaker 2: also wearing shirts because that's a requirement.
- 0:34Speaker 1: He never explicitly said that rule before, but we thought
- 0:40Speaker 1: it was implied.
- 0:41Speaker 3: But I'm saying it now. Please wear shirts to lunch
- 0:45Speaker 3: with the boys.
- 0:48Speaker 1: Great good, that's really good. How's everybody doing? Very good?
- 0:51Speaker 1: Brian is here, Brian, how you doing great?
- 0:55Speaker 4: Good to see you guys.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Do you sound fantastic? Really? Yeah? Fat you sounding like
- 1:01Speaker 1: a soundproof room.
- 1:02Speaker 4: You sound great, man, not even close, but thank you.
- 1:06Speaker 1: They got they got. It's the shirt, yeah, it's the
- 1:08Speaker 1: Shirt's what it is. Requirement. But you also because you're
- 1:12Speaker 1: coming in tomorrow to record some stuff with us, so
- 1:14Speaker 1: you didn't want to come in two days.
- 1:15Speaker 4: In a row, right right, that's too much.
- 1:17Speaker 1: It'd be crazy.
- 1:18Speaker 4: That would be three days in a row. Actually, yeah,
- 1:20Speaker 4: if you're doing the math.
- 1:21Speaker 1: We get to review that will kemper movie early tomorrow.
- 1:25Speaker 4: Have you watched it yet?
- 1:26Speaker 1: We're forty two minutes and we just hit pulse. Yes.
- 1:29Speaker 3: Unfortunately we are out of office. Out of office next
- 1:32Speaker 3: week because it is a weird week.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Where there's no child care but there's no school and
- 1:38Speaker 1: so here's school starts on the eleven years of all
- 1:42Speaker 1: coming right up.
- 1:43Speaker 3: But weird week next week. Yep, weird week next week. Brian,
- 1:48Speaker 3: what are you working on today, Bud?
- 1:50Speaker 4: I'm doing my regular job. I'm doing some book writing.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Ah, tell everybody about book. How's it coming on? Tell
- 1:57Speaker 1: everyone about book? About book?
- 1:58Speaker 4: Elizabeth halt a lot over brama fest.
- 2:01Speaker 1: She told you to get wasted multiple that's helpful, But Elizabeth,
- 2:08Speaker 1: I heard her say it. You don't have to slightly.
- 2:12Speaker 4: It's like she's trying to sabotage it or something.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Why did you tell Brian to get wasted? Unlocks writer's
- 2:17Speaker 1: block up tight? I don't know if you know that.
- 2:21Speaker 1: What Brian? Get out of here? He's so God the flow,
- 2:24Speaker 1: it's crazy, easy, breezing.
- 2:27Speaker 5: There's a there's a really good writing rule. It's right
- 2:30Speaker 5: drunk and it's sober. I choose to do both well inebriated.
- 2:35Speaker 5: But you know, Brian could just take the first part.
- 2:37Speaker 1: You know, right, drunk, Brian, do you get drunk? Not really,
- 2:46Speaker 1: It's it's.
- 2:47Speaker 5: Just because you didn't have the Founder's day punt.
- 2:49Speaker 1: That's right, it's the Carbs brand. You have to have
- 2:52Speaker 1: carbs to get drunk, and he's not going to have
- 2:54Speaker 1: those fully rejected.
- 2:56Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, no, it's I've moved on win the last
- 3:00Speaker 4: phase of the book writing here.
- 3:03Speaker 1: I know you are because you keep popping in the
- 3:04Speaker 1: group chat with random things like what else would go
- 3:07Speaker 1: on here? And I'm that's my favorite part of being
- 3:11Speaker 1: an author in this world where I've written three books
- 3:15Speaker 1: and really only written one book, which is and it
- 3:18Speaker 1: was a child's book that rhymes like the rest of
- 3:20Speaker 1: these books that I've written, is me just being like, yeah,
- 3:23Speaker 1: do that or like what if we did this? All right,
- 3:26Speaker 1: see you later. It's pretty great, It's pretty That's where
- 3:29Speaker 1: that's where we shine is all. Yes, it's better than
- 3:33Speaker 1: me writing it be a lot more. Jack's tried to help.
- 3:35Speaker 1: She bought Ryan Brian a drink. Why was Jack's buying drinks?
- 3:39Speaker 1: All of her drinks should have been covered with.
- 3:42Speaker 4: Her one hundred dollars that she won.
- 3:46Speaker 1: With her I got, she won, the Honda won the
- 3:50Speaker 1: big money. Can't hide money, can't hid money. Money.
- 3:53Speaker 3: Well, everybody, it's good to be here. Another lunch with
- 3:56Speaker 3: the boys.
- 3:57Speaker 4: Uh.
- 3:58Speaker 3: In the books, so the book is just now just
- 4:01Speaker 3: now opened.
- 4:03Speaker 1: In the chat, Elizabeth, does that philosophy? Explain the original
- 4:05Speaker 1: multipage bramd wifest manifesto. It's a great question, good question.
- 4:08Speaker 1: How many drinks drunk that? Yeah?
- 4:11Speaker 5: I mean we were on a road trip. So you
- 4:14Speaker 5: know what's a road trip without a few cocktails. It's
- 4:17Speaker 5: a laptop in manifesto writing.
- 4:20Speaker 1: I mean I wrote two manifestos. Well, I was on vacation.
- 4:23Speaker 1: One was Communist, a Communist manifesto. It's a name. I'm
- 4:27Speaker 1: trying to No, I tell you what I wrote a
- 4:30Speaker 1: thing for. Uh, this is not a weapon substack about
- 4:34Speaker 1: the Odyssey and I wrote it. I wrote it on
- 4:39Speaker 1: the beach with my phone and I just was like
- 4:43Speaker 1: sitting on the beach, nothing to do, and I was like, oh,
- 4:45Speaker 1: this is an interesting idea, and I just just kept
- 4:47Speaker 1: typing away on my phone and it was like twelve
- 4:49Speaker 1: hundred words and I sent it to Justin Kirkland. I
- 4:51Speaker 1: was like, Hey, is this anything? If not, just chuck it.
- 4:53Speaker 1: If it is, then use it. And then he was like,
- 4:56Speaker 1: I love this. Do you mind I fight editing and
- 4:58Speaker 1: I was like, absolutely, edit away, and so he uh
- 5:03Speaker 1: he then made it sound readable like he made he
- 5:07Speaker 1: took a pass at it and immediately turned it into
- 5:09Speaker 1: something that was good, good, decent. So yeah, I wrote,
- 5:13Speaker 1: I wrote, I wasn't really drinking, but I was on
- 5:16Speaker 1: my phone in the sand out there.
- 5:18Speaker 5: So what you're saying is Brian and I need to
- 5:20Speaker 5: be on the beach.
- 5:22Speaker 1: I may have had a beer or two. I was
- 5:24Speaker 1: eleven in the morning. You had your toes in the
- 5:26Speaker 1: water or you're toes in the sand. That's right, not
- 5:31Speaker 1: a worry in the world. The cold beer in my hand.
- 5:35Speaker 1: When are you guys going to Zach Brown Band? Oh?
- 5:38Speaker 1: What is that, Bri? That's October? Right, I think that's
- 5:42Speaker 1: the week and after Ray Guy's wedding, Wow, Ry Guy's wedding,
- 5:47Speaker 1: Zach Brown Band, marathon man, what on October?
- 5:53Speaker 4: Garage garage mystery marathon.
- 5:55Speaker 1: Garage mysteries marathon. Once we get that ten thousand dollars
- 5:57Speaker 1: check out, of course, exactly exactly right. Well, I would
- 6:01Speaker 1: love to hear people's thoughts on BRAMI we are going
- 6:07Speaker 1: to be sending out a survey at some points meeting
- 6:12Speaker 1: the debrief next week, I believe, but would love if
- 6:16Speaker 1: you have any thoughts aside from best profests ever, which
- 6:20Speaker 1: I think we all agree, but any thoughts would be wonderful. Course,
- 6:26Speaker 1: of course, said meeting Justin was the highlight of bramblefestis
- 6:30Speaker 1: who could argue with that? He's a tall boy. Bring
- 6:33Speaker 1: back golf, Bring back Justin. Yeah, Justin. I will say this,
- 6:36Speaker 1: We've not technically like set in stone the dates for
- 6:39Speaker 1: Bramblefest nexture, but like I think we all know what
- 6:42Speaker 1: they are. Justin asked me at karaoke. It was like,
- 6:45Speaker 1: when's bramble Fest's Like, what's probably going to be the
- 6:47Speaker 1: third weekend in July. That's what it typically is. That
- 6:49Speaker 1: was that was what really cumented it for him and
- 6:53Speaker 1: he karaoke. He was during karaoke is just like this
- 6:56Speaker 1: is the He was telling me all weekend, this is amazing,
- 6:58Speaker 1: this is amazing. And then we were watching Matt and
- 7:02Speaker 1: CC saying shallow in the second row there and he
- 7:05Speaker 1: was like, he was like, this is just the coolest event.
- 7:07Speaker 1: Because I was telling him the story of how madd
- 7:09Speaker 1: and CC met through through this and and and then
- 7:12Speaker 1: I told him it's probably gonna be the third weekend
- 7:14Speaker 1: in July. We've not technically nailed it down, but that's
- 7:16Speaker 1: typically when it has been the last few years. And
- 7:19Speaker 1: he put it in his calendar, like he put a
- 7:20Speaker 1: hold in his calendar for next year. So if it's
- 7:23Speaker 1: not that weekend, we've got some work to do. So
- 7:27Speaker 1: otherwise we're set for next year. We're already ready, right,
- 7:29Speaker 1: I'm ready to everything. Let's run it back, let's do
- 7:32Speaker 1: it tomorrow. Yeah, there you go. For sure. Golf was good.
- 7:36Speaker 1: Though golf was great. It was so hot, but golf
- 7:39Speaker 1: was a ton of fun and nothing we could do
- 7:41Speaker 1: about the heat and dustin Do you think that was
- 7:42Speaker 1: the hottest bread offest on record? It was very highly
- 7:44Speaker 1: hot one. I still think, what was it three years
- 7:47Speaker 1: ago when he had unseasonably cool weather, It was like
- 7:50Speaker 1: eighty two during the day. I still think we're getting
- 7:52Speaker 1: punished for that. I think like, I've never had a
- 7:55Speaker 1: mid July, like a three day stretch in the middle
- 7:58Speaker 1: of July that cool in South carol Line and we
- 8:00Speaker 1: had it four Bramblefest and everybody's like Green was awesome,
- 8:02Speaker 1: and I was like, there's gonna be We're gonna get payback.
- 8:06Speaker 1: This was payback. Yeah, the last three years. Last year
- 8:08Speaker 1: was so hot and then the Willie Taco thing was
- 8:10Speaker 1: so hot. Like all of those years were really hot,
- 8:12Speaker 1: so you know, great. Yeah, the brit said they were
- 8:17Speaker 1: using golf to make sure they're invited every year. They
- 8:19Speaker 1: know that they want to be playing. Like Bethan says,
- 8:22Speaker 1: this was not the hottest. This was not the hot really, man,
- 8:27Speaker 1: she's shaking her head. No, I mean, I know there
- 8:29Speaker 1: was one other year that it was crazy hot outside,
- 8:32Speaker 1: but I feel like, I mean, especially not Saturday. But
- 8:36Speaker 1: Thursday and Friday were two of the three hottest days
- 8:39Speaker 1: we had all year here, so I feel like that.
- 8:42Speaker 1: But Saturday was agist beth Anne, What like Saturday was
- 8:45Speaker 1: a little bit of the data?
- 8:48Speaker 6: No, I don't have the data.
- 8:49Speaker 7: Well, here's the thing. Part of the reason it might
- 8:52Speaker 7: not have been.
- 8:53Speaker 6: Felt like it was the hottest is because did everything
- 8:57Speaker 6: was at the hotel. Yeah, and we didn't have to
- 9:01Speaker 6: leave the hotel for things. It might not have felt
- 9:06Speaker 6: quite as much like the hottest because you weren't required
- 9:10Speaker 6: to leave a hotel for as much. But the reason
- 9:13Speaker 6: I don't think it was the hottest was because last
- 9:16Speaker 6: year when we were I don't remember who it was,
- 9:21Speaker 6: but there were some people that were walking somewhere and
- 9:24Speaker 6: Holly was talking about they had just been.
- 9:27Speaker 7: At Myrtle Beach. Rob and Cole and Holly had just
- 9:31Speaker 7: been at Myrtle Beach, and so we were talking about
- 9:34Speaker 7: like the weather at Myrtle Beach versus the weather at Greenville.
- 9:36Speaker 7: And I just remember us walking to whatever restaurant we
- 9:41Speaker 7: were going to and all of us just being so
- 9:46Speaker 7: drenched in a way that was disgusting that I never
- 9:50Speaker 7: got this year.
- 9:52Speaker 1: Huh, all right, well there you have. I will say
- 9:54Speaker 1: that having everything in one hotel would make it a lot,
- 9:57Speaker 1: like the weather, a lot less of a factor. I
- 9:59Speaker 1: do know that when we walked the hosts of the
- 10:01Speaker 1: host dinner on Thursday night, it was pretty honest, Uh
- 10:07Speaker 1: pretty walked to lunch with my kids one of those
- 10:11Speaker 1: days and I was like, this was a mistake. You
- 10:13Speaker 1: walked to Lemon that well, we weren't going to walk
- 10:16Speaker 1: to limit. We were walking somewhere else. I don't underwear.
- 10:18Speaker 1: But then that place was closed. We were like let's
- 10:19Speaker 1: just go on. Yeah, I would have felt that for sure.
- 10:22Speaker 1: It was maybe I'm just this summer has felt it's
- 10:27Speaker 1: been What about the double decker dinner being at the hotel?
- 10:30Speaker 1: People are saying they like it, like the charcuterie and
- 10:33Speaker 1: the ice cream. Do we have any like any pushback
- 10:36Speaker 1: on you that, because all I've heard is positive and
- 10:37Speaker 1: I really loved all of that. But if there was
- 10:39Speaker 1: anyone that had any thoughts there, would love to hear it.
- 10:42Speaker 1: You know.
- 10:43Speaker 3: Also the only thing I heard about charcuterie was it
- 10:46Speaker 3: would need more uh more tongs, more tongs and more
- 10:52Speaker 3: signs of what things are got it.
- 10:54Speaker 1: I can do that. So that charcuterie company was a
- 10:57Speaker 1: former student of mine and she like runs her own business.
- 11:01Speaker 1: And I was like, I'll give you one shot to
- 11:02Speaker 1: do this, and if you do it, well, we'll keep
- 11:04Speaker 1: having you back. And so those are easy fixes. It
- 11:08Speaker 1: was really something. It was something, yeah, And it was
- 11:13Speaker 1: the original quote she gave me was for way more
- 11:18Speaker 1: food than that. How And I was like, hey, can
- 11:21Speaker 1: we cut it by? Like I was like, I don't.
- 11:22Speaker 1: It's not the cost, You're the cost I thought was fair.
- 11:25Speaker 1: I was like, I just think you know, for eight
- 11:28Speaker 1: o'clock thing, and we have ice cream and maybe twenty
- 11:31Speaker 1: percent less and so she was like, all right, and
- 11:32Speaker 1: she cut everything by twenty percent and it's still probably
- 11:35Speaker 1: need to be cut by another twenty percent, I would say.
- 11:38Speaker 1: But aside from that, you know, the shark heuntery and
- 11:40Speaker 1: ice cream, I just thought both really worked really well
- 11:44Speaker 1: to give everyone something for that. And what about content wise?
- 11:50Speaker 1: I like, we know, making the merge crushed and I
- 11:53Speaker 1: really thought, who what when? Was a ton of fun.
- 11:56Speaker 1: I thought those two were both editions that we will
- 11:58Speaker 1: probably do every year. What did you guys feel like
- 12:02Speaker 1: starting at noon was too much? Did you did you
- 12:05Speaker 1: feel like it was still on the Goldie Locks meter?
- 12:11Speaker 1: Was it too much? Just right? That's right? What bowl
- 12:16Speaker 1: of porridge?
- 12:18Speaker 4: That's offensive? I'm just gonna say it.
- 12:20Speaker 1: You know, I get that I was to bring up
- 12:22Speaker 1: Goldie locks or porridge, and you know, I, uh yeah.
- 12:27Speaker 1: I think we we have a lot of things we
- 12:29Speaker 1: want to do at Bramblefest, and we also are, you
- 12:32Speaker 1: know a little bit relegated by time, so we we
- 12:34Speaker 1: just are trying to figure it out. Even with more content,
- 12:38Speaker 1: it felt perfect because of the earlier start, the breaks
- 12:41Speaker 1: on Saturday lunch first dinner was too close together. Yeah,
- 12:45Speaker 1: who Win? Well, we took out the meet and greet
- 12:47Speaker 1: and we put in who Win. But we did start
- 12:49Speaker 1: it kind of late and we did. Yeah, I mean, yeah,
- 12:54Speaker 1: there's one wrong. No, No, I don't know how much
- 12:59Speaker 1: to do it, but you're right. I think it was.
- 13:02Speaker 1: We started that movie at five and we were done
- 13:04Speaker 1: with what went at three thirty. And that's pretty tight
- 13:07Speaker 1: turnaround on the front end of that though. We were
- 13:09Speaker 1: done before noon Saturday morning, so you had twelve to two.
- 13:13Speaker 1: But I would agree that the three thirty to five.
- 13:17Speaker 1: And the thing is is that we would start that later,
- 13:20Speaker 1: but then we're cutting into karaoke time, do you. I mean,
- 13:22Speaker 1: like we want to start deck the Hallmark by seven,
- 13:25Speaker 1: so we can start karaoke by eight. But I mean
- 13:29Speaker 1: at the end of the day, we could start at
- 13:31Speaker 1: thirty minutes later. We could do the movie at five
- 13:33Speaker 1: thirty and then start perfect length for karaoke, that's right. Yeah,
- 13:38Speaker 1: it was a perfect length for Carrier. Yeah, so yeah,
- 13:41Speaker 1: that's the tough part there. But no, we've got some
- 13:44Speaker 1: ideas for making the merge and even make it making
- 13:47Speaker 1: it more interactive next year because I think it was
- 13:51Speaker 1: so much fun door dash my Saturday dinner to eat
- 13:55Speaker 1: during the movie. Yeah, that is the thing.
- 13:57Speaker 3: When it's starting at five, it's like you got to
- 13:59Speaker 3: find dinner before to get it.
- 14:00Speaker 1: I agree with that, And I if we're doing a
- 14:02Speaker 1: movie that's not out yet. So if we did a
- 14:04Speaker 1: movie that was already out, then we wouldn't have to
- 14:06Speaker 1: screen it, or we could do an optional screening and
- 14:08Speaker 1: you could just go eat instead of doing the screening.
- 14:10Speaker 1: But when you the only place to see that movie
- 14:13Speaker 1: was in the ballroom, we couldn't technically show it. So
- 14:15Speaker 1: like that, I understand a three thirty to five turnaround
- 14:20Speaker 1: is and then one to eat dinner before five. Anyway,
- 14:23Speaker 1: I agree with that. Yeah. Yeah, if I was going
- 14:26Speaker 1: to a festival of some sort and that was the schedule,
- 14:29Speaker 1: I would be like, what am I supposed to do here?
- 14:30Speaker 1: I'll probably order a pizza dur in the middle of
- 14:32Speaker 1: the movie. So that that I agree with that. Yeah,
- 14:36Speaker 1: it wasn't time to already, I agree. Yeah, but you
- 14:39Speaker 1: know what you learn, you live, you learn, you live
- 14:42Speaker 1: you learn. I mean we could also like add something
- 14:45Speaker 1: that Saturday. The problem is is the screener. Ye, it's
- 14:48Speaker 1: an hour and a half that we have to do
- 14:50Speaker 1: if nobody can see the movie other places. And then
- 14:52Speaker 1: I think people do like watching the movie together, So
- 14:56Speaker 1: you know there's that.
- 14:58Speaker 3: Yeah, if people don't care about the screener, that's easy,
- 15:00Speaker 3: that's right, easy cut off, Yeah, cut it off.
- 15:05Speaker 1: People do love the movie. Yeah, any other thoughts? Anybody
- 15:09Speaker 1: have anything else on Bramblefest to add? It was a
- 15:11Speaker 1: such a great time. It was a great time. We
- 15:13Speaker 1: really enjoyed it.
- 15:14Speaker 3: I uh, yeah, I felt like it was a good one,
- 15:19Speaker 3: maybe the best yet some are.
- 15:20Speaker 1: Saying, yeah, I mean I thought I thought it was
- 15:23Speaker 1: as fun as I've ever had it, one of those
- 15:25Speaker 1: it was a really great time.
- 15:26Speaker 3: So and I saw someone shout out at at was wonderful, amazing,
- 15:29Speaker 3: He's the best. We love working with at on who
- 15:32Speaker 3: it went, and he just kind of gets us and
- 15:35Speaker 3: it made it really easy.
- 15:36Speaker 1: What a guy. And he really did, uh he told
- 15:39Speaker 1: us he was like. On my way out, I overheard
- 15:43Speaker 1: some double deckers talking and one of them said, did
- 15:45Speaker 1: he really do all that? For a sort? He did?
- 15:49Speaker 1: And I'm here to tell you that he did. And
- 15:52Speaker 1: also him hearing that made it even better for him.
- 15:57Speaker 1: He is more I've never met someone more in on
- 16:00Speaker 1: bit than Brandon and I. But he is more in
- 16:01Speaker 1: on a bit than the two of us. He like money.
- 16:05Speaker 1: Never heard of her. Also his his wife runs a
- 16:09Speaker 1: very successful business in Colombia. Like she like runs this
- 16:13Speaker 1: craft and draft, which is this there's two bars and
- 16:16Speaker 1: like craft beer location craft and there's draft and uh
- 16:21Speaker 1: and so he is just here for a good time.
- 16:24Speaker 1: He's just yeah, worked out perfect, that's right. I saw
- 16:29Speaker 1: somebody say, if who is that? Emily said, if somebody
- 16:33Speaker 1: complains on to serve about the chatter and then maybe
- 16:34Speaker 1: that's my past. I hope somebody does. That would be hilarious. Uh. I.
- 16:38Speaker 1: Chase and I didn't get to talk much to Joonathan
- 16:40Speaker 1: because he was kind of in and out. But Chase
- 16:41Speaker 1: and PD had a blast and a great time, had
- 16:43Speaker 1: a great time. We're excited to come back next year
- 16:46Speaker 1: and uh, you know so, I yeah, it was it
- 16:49Speaker 1: was cool to get to see them really enjoyed themself.
- 16:53Speaker 1: And my favorite, my favorite thing that happened was a
- 16:56Speaker 1: couple of people skipped out on making the merge at
- 17:00Speaker 1: whatever time it was on Saturday. On Friday, a lot
- 17:02Speaker 1: of people and heard about how fun it was, and
- 17:06Speaker 1: now they have to live with that regret that they
- 17:08Speaker 1: messed out, and you know what that's on you. I mean,
- 17:12Speaker 1: I will say, like we it was bound to happen
- 17:16Speaker 1: unless we put it in the evening and sandwiched it
- 17:19Speaker 1: between two things that are kind of mainstays. But we
- 17:23Speaker 1: wanted to give it enough time. Yea. Uh, And so
- 17:26Speaker 1: I was shocked. I was kind of shocked when I
- 17:29Speaker 1: saw how a few people were in there, and then
- 17:30Speaker 1: I was like, well, I mean, I guess a lot
- 17:32Speaker 1: of people don't listen to this. A lot of people
- 17:34Speaker 1: listen to Making the Merge, but not that are at
- 17:36Speaker 1: it like it's its own thing. But I think it's
- 17:38Speaker 1: such you know, but it wasn't an episode of Making
- 17:41Speaker 1: the Merge. I could see why.
- 17:42Speaker 8: I think that's the what we heard was that people
- 17:46Speaker 8: thought it was going to be a podcast Making the Merge,
- 17:50Speaker 8: and it didn't say it in the schedule, so they
- 17:54Speaker 8: just assumed to Look.
- 17:55Speaker 1: If we changed how we presented that to like Making
- 17:57Speaker 1: the Merge presents like Survivor and interactive Survivor ever game
- 18:00Speaker 1: I think featuring Jax and Justin, then I think we
- 18:03Speaker 1: could have fixed that. You know, on our end, for sure.
- 18:07Speaker 4: Yeah, if we didn't have so many tree lightings on
- 18:10Speaker 4: the schedule, we would have had space to.
- 18:13Speaker 1: Everyone would have had time for dinner Saturday night if
- 18:15Speaker 1: we had not done the extra tree. But honestly, my
- 18:17Speaker 1: biggest takeaway was we could have at least fit one
- 18:19Speaker 1: more and we could have fit one more Christmas tree light.
- 18:26Speaker 1: How did I meet Chase and p D? Can you
- 18:29Speaker 1: meet him doing a video with Shama? Yeah? So I well, yes,
- 18:34Speaker 1: those short versions.
- 18:36Speaker 3: I met Chase doing a video with a mutual friend
- 18:40Speaker 3: named Shama where I spirit Obviously I'm playing the Grench
- 18:46Speaker 3: and I'm like asking I work one of those Salvation
- 18:51Speaker 3: Army things, and they keep hearing more of my story
- 18:54Speaker 3: and it comes out that I'm the Grench and it's
- 18:56Speaker 3: the whole thing.
- 18:58Speaker 1: But then I was separate of that. It was a
- 19:04Speaker 1: follower of Jonathan's YouTube channel because he does a lot
- 19:08Speaker 1: of like CCM Christian music culture stuff. If you grew
- 19:14Speaker 1: up in the in the church in the nineties, his
- 19:17Speaker 1: YouTube channel is for you, And he did a video
- 19:19Speaker 1: because he knew Chase MPD from a different way and
- 19:24Speaker 1: they were doing making the Merge already, and Jonathan in
- 19:29Speaker 1: that video about their little Survivor draft is what got
- 19:32Speaker 1: me into Survivor in the first place. And I just
- 19:35Speaker 1: reached out to him and told him, now, great it was,
- 19:36Speaker 1: and if you know, he ever wants, I'm happy to
- 19:38Speaker 1: come on the show or whatever as another podcaster. And
- 19:41Speaker 1: then the it just kind of worked there, you go
- 19:43Speaker 1: just kind of hit it off real well, Homemwerk Christmas
- 19:48Speaker 1: sperience does tree lighting that'us? I mean, I didn't know that.
- 19:55Speaker 1: Them going on this tour and not selling it out
- 19:59Speaker 1: was shocking to me, Like they've not sold out the
- 20:03Speaker 1: second week of that tour yet and it's this week,
- 20:06Speaker 1: so they've not. Like, I don't has anybody been? Has
- 20:09Speaker 1: anybody been to the tour? I I who was just
- 20:14Speaker 1: raising their hand? Holly was raised raising hand. We can
- 20:17Speaker 1: we can call on you. Yeah, Holly, go ahead, you
- 20:19Speaker 1: won't have to do the tour thing. She's got a
- 20:24Speaker 1: right good talk Holly. And that's okay, that's fine. Und I,
- 20:27Speaker 1: uh no, it seems like it's it's going okay.
- 20:30Speaker 3: I was, but I you know, it's I don't I think,
- 20:34Speaker 3: but like to the making the merge point of not
- 20:38Speaker 3: knowing what.
- 20:39Speaker 1: It is so you skip it. I don't know what
- 20:41Speaker 1: the tour is, like, what is It's like, what do
- 20:44Speaker 1: they what do they do? So I think that's like
- 20:47Speaker 1: because at least with a Christmas convention, you know you're
- 20:50Speaker 1: gonna go and you get to meet the people, and
- 20:52Speaker 1: that's really what you want. A Hallmark live show, it's like, yeah, like,
- 20:57Speaker 1: what is it? What is it? It's a Q and
- 20:58Speaker 1: A in stories right, awesome?
- 21:02Speaker 4: All right?
- 21:02Speaker 9: I figured out how to unmute.
- 21:04Speaker 1: I'm we've actually moved on, but uh, we'll see I'm kidding.
- 21:10Speaker 1: Go ahead.
- 21:11Speaker 9: I raised my hand and then I lowered it because
- 21:14Speaker 9: I was not raising my hand about the Hallmark Christmas Experience.
- 21:16Speaker 9: I was going to pile on a little more since
- 21:18Speaker 9: we were talking about making the merge. I'm not a
- 21:22Speaker 9: survivor girl, but loved, loved it and loved Chase and
- 21:28Speaker 9: Pete and the whole vibe with them. So I started
- 21:32Speaker 9: watching twin Peaks and Summer's watching it with me.
- 21:38Speaker 1: It's so much fun.
- 21:40Speaker 9: It's such a fun podcast. And I love love Dirty
- 21:44Speaker 9: Brand obviously because I don't know.
- 21:48Speaker 1: If I would say it's Dirty Brand, but go ahead,
- 21:52Speaker 1: well yo.
- 21:53Speaker 9: I mean it's not Dirty Brand. But like the first episode,
- 21:56Speaker 9: the first thing you said was like the guys dick
- 21:58Speaker 9: so boog.
- 21:58Speaker 1: So I mean, yeah, and well, well you didn't listen
- 22:01Speaker 1: to the episode. I didn't. Chase brought Chase meant to
- 22:04Speaker 1: say Laura Palmer. He said Arnold Palmer. And that reminded
- 22:08Speaker 1: me of the time that Donald Trump talked about Palmer's dick,
- 22:11Speaker 1: and so I said, his stick so big. He didn't
- 22:13Speaker 1: know what that was. He had to look it up.
- 22:14Speaker 1: I think that's dirty Brand, all right, that's sturdy brain,
- 22:16Speaker 1: I thankfully established listen.
- 22:18Speaker 9: Yeah, I hate obviously, clearly, I'm not judging. It's that's
- 22:22Speaker 9: you know, that's the win for me. So if anybody
- 22:26Speaker 9: else wants to hear dirty Brand, then.
- 22:29Speaker 1: Shout out god. Yeah, thank you for listening, thank you
- 22:33Speaker 1: for watching Twin Peaks, and hopefully you'll follow along with
- 22:37Speaker 1: making the merge the next season. It's I think even
- 22:40Speaker 1: if you're not a survivor fan, I think the show's
- 22:42Speaker 1: it's accessible, it's it is the least it's the least
- 22:46Speaker 1: insightful survivor podcast out there. That's our claim to fame.
- 22:49Speaker 9: So it's a great cell.
- 22:51Speaker 1: Thanks guys, thank you, Holly. You know he's said that's now,
- 22:58Speaker 1: it's now that's all I think about. I think about
- 23:00Speaker 1: Arnold Palmer, of course that time you here Arnold Palmer
- 23:02Speaker 1: and here the president, yes, talking about it as president
- 23:07Speaker 1: talking about it. It's not like he did. It's not
- 23:09Speaker 1: like that video is years old, right, that's like no,
- 23:11Speaker 1: it's yeah. Is there a planer release of making the
- 23:14Speaker 1: merch Bremo Fest video to the public. I think Chase
- 23:17Speaker 1: wants it for his YouTube channel?
- 23:18Speaker 3: Yeah, I think we're gonna do something with it for
- 23:20Speaker 3: for making the merch.
- 23:22Speaker 1: We might have. We got to clean it up a
- 23:24Speaker 1: little bit, tighten it up, but yeah, probably during the
- 23:28Speaker 1: off season here would be good to get something out there.
- 23:32Speaker 1: You know, now's the time, now's the time. Yeah. I
- 23:35Speaker 1: had a season fifty one. Ten Are you going to
- 23:36Speaker 1: watch season fifty one? I haven't decided yet. It was
- 23:38Speaker 1: a pretty big commitment to watch fifty but I did
- 23:40Speaker 1: enjoy myself. You know, it would be good to see
- 23:44Speaker 1: if you like a season without returning players, well, like
- 23:47Speaker 1: I would assume unlike season fifty in a in a
- 23:51Speaker 1: new player season, there's just some people who aren't really
- 23:54Speaker 1: good at it. Like you early on, you're like, oh,
- 23:57Speaker 1: they're not good at this game. Yeah, does that happen. Yeah,
- 24:00Speaker 1: there's some fun of that, Like there's some fun to
- 24:02Speaker 1: be had in like, like you had a lot of
- 24:05Speaker 1: fun making fun of ce couple in fifty. It felt
- 24:07Speaker 1: like all of these players of things, I said, Cedric,
- 24:12Speaker 1: like all these players in fifty had like even the
- 24:14Speaker 1: first early voted out ones, like they had a a thing.
- 24:18Speaker 1: Yeah that you were like, Oh, you can tell that
- 24:19Speaker 1: they're good at this game and they've had success at
- 24:22Speaker 1: this game. And I would assume that that's not how
- 24:24Speaker 1: it works with new players, right right, So you got
- 24:27Speaker 1: to figure it out. Devns and d happened great on
- 24:29Speaker 1: Big Brother. I'm watching Big Brother for the first time.
- 24:32Speaker 3: Dev the first episode, I was like, what is this
- 24:36Speaker 3: And it's very it's such a dumb show that like
- 24:40Speaker 3: Survivor takes itself very seriously and Big Brother is like
- 24:44Speaker 3: the opposite.
- 24:45Speaker 1: It could not take itself less seriously. And like in
- 24:48Speaker 1: the first episode, a dinosaur comes out and throws somebody
- 24:52Speaker 1: into a volcano and it's like, Okay, that's this show.
- 24:55Speaker 1: Is that happening. But I've really like the strategy side
- 24:59Speaker 1: of it.
- 24:59Speaker 3: I really am joay and I do find myself like
- 25:02Speaker 3: I'm excited about tonight's episode.
- 25:04Speaker 1: So and I'll occasionally hop on and watch a little
- 25:06Speaker 1: live stream. All right, okay, what's going on? What's going
- 25:09Speaker 1: on in the Big brotherhouse right now? Should we have
- 25:12Speaker 1: a Big Brother camp? It's just on all the time,
- 25:14Speaker 1: on all the time here. I hate that idea, but
- 25:16Speaker 1: I mean, you know, I mean it would either like
- 25:18Speaker 1: people would hear Brian's peace. Yeah, how you how could
- 25:21Speaker 1: you not? How could you not? Yesterday? That was crazy
- 25:26Speaker 1: like it was miked up. Yeah, it's like the Snowman feed. Yeah,
- 25:33Speaker 1: I remember that. Everybody. Everybody was like, there's something Yeah.
- 25:37Speaker 1: Brand was just testing out our new security uh camera,
- 25:40Speaker 1: and he just put it live and everybody thought it
- 25:43Speaker 1: was like something going on. That was That was a
- 25:44Speaker 1: good time. Classic yeah, classic, classic time. Big Brother came
- 25:49Speaker 1: out of course, just just the color the cutout of Rig. Yeah,
- 25:55Speaker 1: we didn't. We we tried. We messed with a rig
- 25:57Speaker 1: cam there for a second. We had to cam brief
- 26:00Speaker 1: because I was it before Aaron and I had the webcam,
- 26:04Speaker 1: and I thought it would be fun to have rig cam.
- 26:07Speaker 1: Where is Rig? He's torn to pieces? I think we
- 26:11Speaker 1: still did we finally just throw it out like he was.
- 26:16Speaker 1: We can't throw Rig out. He's a person. Well, he
- 26:18Speaker 1: has torn to pieces, might be in storage. He might
- 26:22Speaker 1: be in storage. What's left of him?
- 26:24Speaker 5: What's left of him?
- 26:25Speaker 1: I mean it was a hell of a run. We
- 26:26Speaker 1: we we got a lot of a lot of years,
- 26:29Speaker 1: a lot of mileage out of that cutout.
- 26:31Speaker 3: I think it's time we give rig a little a
- 26:34Speaker 3: little makeover and then get it get ourselves a new
- 26:37Speaker 3: cardboard cutout.
- 26:38Speaker 1: I think it's double decker. Brian Harold bought the first one,
- 26:42Speaker 1: that's right, out of his own money, and I was
- 26:45Speaker 1: and Lee Lee made the drawing. Is that right? You
- 26:48Speaker 1: worked in collaboration with Lee on this yea.
- 26:52Speaker 4: And I brought him with me when I moved I
- 26:54Speaker 4: remember how I got it before I had moved down here,
- 26:57Speaker 4: and he traveled with me.
- 26:59Speaker 1: It's right. You did a bit at the second Bramblefest
- 27:02Speaker 1: where you had somebody say horse, so that you could
- 27:06Speaker 1: then bring it up on you handed like Panda or
- 27:09Speaker 1: brand a card to read, and then you brought him
- 27:12Speaker 1: up on stage.
- 27:14Speaker 4: That was a lot of fun back then, and that's
- 27:17Speaker 4: when he still baked for us. It happened what.
- 27:21Speaker 1: You were doing all kinds of you were bringing in
- 27:23Speaker 1: props for episodes. I peaked.
- 27:28Speaker 4: Yeah, that's all downhill.
- 27:30Speaker 1: Before you started. It's crazy.
- 27:33Speaker 4: I didn't even know.
- 27:34Speaker 1: What did that tell you? If you remember? What was
- 27:38Speaker 1: the process? Give us behind behind the bits of rig
- 27:43Speaker 1: of the rig cardboard cutout?
- 27:45Speaker 4: Yeah uh yeah. Lee had done some drawings, I think,
- 27:48Speaker 4: just for fun with no purpose, and then I thought
- 27:52Speaker 4: it would be really fun to get this made into something.
- 27:56Speaker 4: And then so just looking around realizing a cardboard cutout
- 27:59Speaker 4: was a very accessible thing to do, and so I'm like,
- 28:02Speaker 4: this is a no brainer, gotta do that. So I yeah,
- 28:06Speaker 4: it took I he I believe Lee did not draw
- 28:10Speaker 4: the full body. I think I fivored that part of
- 28:14Speaker 4: the process where I saw here's a head of a guy, Yeah,
- 28:17Speaker 4: can you do the rest? And got got some drawings
- 28:21Speaker 4: there and that to order the full.
- 28:26Speaker 1: Full the best money you've ever spent, which isn't bad,
- 28:29Speaker 1: Like you get those suckers for less than a hondo.
- 28:32Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I think it was like that around that price.
- 28:34Speaker 1: Yeah. People think cardboard cutouts or big mind big who
- 28:39Speaker 1: thinks that? Children? When you're a child, you think Carbour
- 28:44Speaker 1: cutouts cost a fortune? Yeah, because we had a carbo
- 28:47Speaker 1: cutout of you and me and Panda at the second
- 28:50Speaker 1: Barbelfest for Red Carpet. Yeah, yeah, for Red.
- 28:53Speaker 5: Car we still have it because we didn't just make
- 28:56Speaker 5: it out of cardboard. We made it out of the plasticide.
- 29:00Speaker 5: It's kind of cardboard.
- 29:01Speaker 1: So that thing is stuff step and repeat and that
- 29:04Speaker 1: old that that bad boy man. We should have Brian
- 29:08Speaker 1: stand in front of the Panda one and then just
- 29:10Speaker 1: have the everybody the face and you have to just
- 29:14Speaker 1: stand behind there for everybody we and then they take
- 29:17Speaker 1: as many pictures as they want, you know, I need.
- 29:20Speaker 5: Now we know what we're doing in October.
- 29:22Speaker 1: Yeah, you think your head looks small on your box? Yeah,
- 29:28Speaker 1: that's right. You did bring the Nasty Chili as your one.
- 29:32Speaker 1: You're one. Oh yeah. The first Bramblefest, I think I
- 29:35Speaker 1: was talking about that we have seven not including we
- 29:38Speaker 1: don't include Brian, and we obviously don't include staff. Seven
- 29:41Speaker 1: obviously double deckers that have been to every bramble Fest
- 29:45Speaker 1: that don't work, you know, for to help put the
- 29:48Speaker 1: festival on. Seven that have still made every single one,
- 29:52Speaker 1: which is crazy because there was only like thirty people
- 29:54Speaker 1: in the room that first year. So yeah, pretty good,
- 29:58Speaker 1: pretty good. And I think since was this is her
- 30:01Speaker 1: first one she missed this year, I believe.
- 30:03Speaker 5: Yep, yeah, first one.
- 30:05Speaker 1: We'll lose them all eventually, Yeah, we'll get there. Just
- 30:08Speaker 1: keep plowing away, you know, that's right, Keep alienating people
- 30:11Speaker 1: with the bits and eventually the all I'll leave us, No,
- 30:18Speaker 1: I'll leave us. What was that chili? It was chocolate
- 30:23Speaker 1: chocolate right, Yeah, and that was Chris's idea with the
- 30:28Speaker 1: mint meant Christmas chili. Chris called us randomly yesterday. What
- 30:34Speaker 1: a time that was? He just randomly called us to
- 30:36Speaker 1: said he was having a tough Monday. That was Monday.
- 30:38Speaker 1: He said he was having a tough Monday. And he
- 30:40Speaker 1: listened to our Christmas at Sea episode. It was the
- 30:42Speaker 1: Jeep Day episode and that you know, and he was
- 30:45Speaker 1: just out of the blue, just decided to listen. It
- 30:47Speaker 1: boosted his spirits. And then he called us from British
- 30:50Speaker 1: Columbia where he was doing some burry in Barstow. And
- 30:53Speaker 1: then we talked for a half hour with Chris Baha
- 30:57Speaker 1: about all sorts of sorts of stuff.
- 30:59Speaker 3: Yeah, all sorts of he's buried. He's currently buried at
- 31:02Speaker 3: Barstow filming.
- 31:03Speaker 1: Two movies and two of them and then yeah, and
- 31:05Speaker 1: then then off to uh, off to another movie. I'm
- 31:09Speaker 1: not gonna spell tea it's Tea Secrets. Okay, but you
- 31:14Speaker 1: almost did, I thought, oh okay, yeah, Vancouver. Yeah, and
- 31:18Speaker 1: and he was in a very small like island, like
- 31:21Speaker 1: in British Columbia, like on a coast or some sort.
- 31:24Speaker 1: So yeah, he was he really like he said publicly
- 31:28Speaker 1: that he has a homework this year. Oh great, he
- 31:33Speaker 1: has a homework movie this year. Okay, great, so then
- 31:35Speaker 1: that's what he was doing.
- 31:36Speaker 3: Yeah, he's gotta go do that. Yeah, maybe a Christmas movie.
- 31:40Speaker 3: Apparently he's hinted at that. Maybe it's maybe he's gonna
- 31:43Speaker 3: go film a Christmas.
- 31:44Speaker 1: Maybe maybe maybe who knows, you know what I mean?
- 31:49Speaker 1: It's actually him and uh Vito, Yeah is he Dandy
- 31:55Speaker 1: Vito plays his dad and they Oh my gosh, it's
- 31:58Speaker 1: like a road trip. Can man, Oh my god, sign
- 32:01Speaker 1: me up right now. I always saw that one Christmas
- 32:04Speaker 1: we did Dandy DeVito in it.
- 32:07Speaker 3: Dan that the holes, No, no, no, no, it was it's
- 32:10Speaker 3: one that we covered with Alonzo for something.
- 32:12Speaker 1: It's it was was that uh oh yeah, Italian. It
- 32:16Speaker 1: was an Italian remake. Yes, you know I'm talking about Yes,
- 32:19Speaker 1: I do Yeah, that's right. Famously, Brand's Halls is exactly right.
- 32:23Speaker 1: Danny DeVito, of course, is exactly right. Vito's in the
- 32:27Speaker 1: movie This Weekend, that's right. Unrelated, unrelated. Didn't she say
- 32:31Speaker 1: there was a it was a distant relationship? Maybe, I
- 32:33Speaker 1: believe was Dan. Have you listened to any of the
- 32:37Speaker 1: best of us yet? No? I haven't. Was that? What there?
- 32:42Speaker 1: The last one's very long? Okay, but uh, I need
- 32:47Speaker 1: to listen to Brian. I saw. I listened to the
- 32:49Speaker 1: intro of Brian doing doing his impression of me. Brian,
- 32:52Speaker 1: did you listen to the third one where I do
- 32:53Speaker 1: a brief impression of you? Yeah?
- 32:55Speaker 4: Do you do it at the beginning?
- 32:56Speaker 1: I believe I just do it at the beginning. I
- 32:59Speaker 1: listened to that. Yeah, but you do it the whole
- 33:00Speaker 1: way through. He does something the whole way through. I
- 33:04Speaker 1: don't know if it's its dat impression, but he does
- 33:06Speaker 1: do a voice the whole way through. Await me, I
- 33:08Speaker 1: see that hand? Hello? Oh wait? Why can't I hear you?
- 33:12Speaker 1: We can't hear you? There? You go go ahead? Can
- 33:14Speaker 1: you hear me now? Now we can? Yeah?
- 33:16Speaker 9: Okay, great?
- 33:18Speaker 1: I saw that. Someone pointed out that the Christmas Prince
- 33:22Speaker 1: commented on your post about that movie. He did, Yes,
- 33:27Speaker 1: I hope he didn't listen to the episode. I mean,
- 33:30Speaker 1: it's not like the clip was a was a rave
- 33:33Speaker 1: of his performance, So clearly he in fas some sort
- 33:37Speaker 1: of those movies, those champ Dog movies get like most
- 33:40Speaker 1: of the actors comment, I think because they were like,
- 33:43Speaker 1: I can't believe somebody is watching this. So you know,
- 33:46Speaker 1: I feel like we're above board there.
- 33:47Speaker 3: I will say, we got a great email from somebody
- 33:51Speaker 3: who was in a JPR movie, John Paul Oh, such
- 33:55Speaker 3: an email about we had we used his picture on
- 34:03Speaker 3: the thumbnail on the thumbnail of the YouTube video because
- 34:05Speaker 3: he's on the he's the star of the he's the
- 34:07Speaker 3: star of the movie. And he basically said, love the episode, amazing.
- 34:11Speaker 3: Please keep roasting this guy's movies. If you could do
- 34:14Speaker 3: me a favor and please take my picture picture off
- 34:18Speaker 3: the thumbnail so that I can try to be not
- 34:21Speaker 3: associated with this movie.
- 34:22Speaker 1: That would be a lot to And his reasons were
- 34:24Speaker 1: something it was a bad movie, like the stuff that
- 34:27Speaker 1: was going on, and said he hated so that was fun.
- 34:30Speaker 3: And he I've gone back and forth him a little bit.
- 34:32Speaker 3: I did take him off the thumbnail, and we went
- 34:34Speaker 3: back and forth just about working with that guy. And
- 34:39Speaker 3: whenever we do our next JPR movie, I think he
- 34:42Speaker 3: might come on and review the movie.
- 34:44Speaker 1: Very fun. That will be fun, and then I could
- 34:46Speaker 1: then we can tell you, like it's not a big
- 34:48Speaker 1: actor or anything, but it's just he doesn't want to
- 34:50Speaker 1: be associated with the movie, so we're not going to
- 34:52Speaker 1: associate with the movie. Yeah, that's fair, that's fair. But uh,
- 34:56Speaker 1: he he was great. That was the first time I've
- 34:59Speaker 1: ever seen that before. Though, Yeah, I don't want to
- 35:01Speaker 1: be a sociated with you guys. His his wording of
- 35:05Speaker 1: that movie was worse than anything we said. Like, his
- 35:09Speaker 1: takedown of that movie was what made our reviews sound
- 35:12Speaker 1: like rapes. So was that the Civil War one? Yeah?
- 35:16Speaker 1: Civil War Musical?
- 35:17Speaker 3: Yeah, which he did confirm that all of I guess
- 35:23Speaker 3: we've just outed him because there's only two characters really
- 35:25Speaker 3: in that movie.
- 35:25Speaker 1: But it's fine, you guys, it's behind to pay. Everything's fine.
- 35:29Speaker 1: He did confirm something that I don't know if we
- 35:32Speaker 1: talked about it on the pot or not, Dan, but
- 35:34Speaker 1: it felt like they didn't have They weren't singing to
- 35:38Speaker 1: a track right. It was like it just he confirmed
- 35:41Speaker 1: that that they sang and then they would add the music.
- 35:45Speaker 1: They added the music and posts and he's like, that's
- 35:49Speaker 1: not how that works usually tough man, that's really tough. Yeah,
- 35:54Speaker 1: film that entire movie in one day, if you can
- 35:57Speaker 1: believe it, one day? One day? All right, that's actually
- 36:01Speaker 1: impressive one day. We've seen worst movies that took four
- 36:04Speaker 1: or five days. Yeah, yeah, shout out there you go,
- 36:07Speaker 1: jpr there you go. Yeah, so we've not talked to
- 36:11Speaker 1: the Prince yet. Though we have not talked to the Prince.
- 36:14Speaker 1: Put it on the bucket list. Uh, I don't know
- 36:18Speaker 1: how you can see that clip and then uh yeah,
- 36:21Speaker 1: thanks for reviewing the movie. Be surprised if you listen,
- 36:24Speaker 1: if you listen to the episode, I think you got it.
- 36:27Speaker 1: You know it. Hopefully he's a good sport. He seems
- 36:29Speaker 1: like he seemed like a good sport. Yeah, I mean
- 36:33Speaker 1: it was what was that was he he was shaking around?
- 36:37Speaker 1: Great moment, Yeah, it was it was fun time. What
- 36:41Speaker 1: else we got? It's an open, open panel. We could
- 36:43Speaker 1: talk about whatever we want to talk about here, Dan,
- 36:46Speaker 1: how are you doing? I'm doing your heart? Heart's awesome?
- 36:49Speaker 1: How about you? Doctor said come back. Wow, I'm kidding.
- 36:53Speaker 1: The numbers are still out numbers are still out there. No,
- 36:56Speaker 1: my heart is fine, good Brian, how's your heart? How's
- 36:58Speaker 1: your heart? Dude, it's awesome. It's awesome. That's great, that's great.
- 37:03Speaker 1: Before people think we're making fun of heart disease, how's
- 37:06Speaker 1: your heart? And evangelical circles had nothing to do with
- 37:09Speaker 1: your People would say that to like, I want you
- 37:12Speaker 1: to tell what God's teaching you are like, if something's wrong,
- 37:18Speaker 1: it was. It's very manipulative phrasing that we're now making
- 37:21Speaker 1: fun of by talking about an actual beating heart. That's
- 37:25Speaker 1: what we're doing here. If you were we're having fun.
- 37:31Speaker 1: He commented twice.
- 37:32Speaker 3: Wants to say things for watching the movie, and then
- 37:36Speaker 3: that he.
- 37:37Speaker 1: Enjoyed playing it. Yeah, you get it, Emily, How's your heart?
- 37:40Speaker 1: Even made it a New England Baptist. It's an all play.
- 37:43Speaker 1: What's God teaching you lately? And and how's your heart?
- 37:47Speaker 1: Or two classics like absolute classics of weird evangelical manipulation.
- 37:55Speaker 1: Did you see the kid from the same lot the catcher? Yes,
- 38:02Speaker 1: big Red whatever you're killing me Smalls? Yeah, he made
- 38:06Speaker 1: a new base. Dugout Dad, he dugout dads with a
- 38:09Speaker 1: lot of the kids, and then Topanga is his wife.
- 38:12Speaker 1: That's right. I've not seen the movie, but I did
- 38:13Speaker 1: see apparently it's just made the movie. He's gonna post
- 38:15Speaker 1: it on his YouTube channel. How about that? What a guy.
- 38:18Speaker 1: He's the next back Rooms, Yeah killing what's his name? Yeah,
- 38:22Speaker 1: everybody's just posting stuff on their YouTube. But I saw
- 38:24Speaker 1: the trailer actually looked fun. Really Yeah, I didn't see
- 38:27Speaker 1: the trailer. I just saw all the behind the scenes
- 38:28Speaker 1: stuff he did with the Panga, Like he does this
- 38:31Speaker 1: bit where he's like, I gotta have you seen this.
- 38:33Speaker 1: I gotta tell you your husband in this movie is
- 38:36Speaker 1: really hot, and Topenga's like, you're my husband in this
- 38:39Speaker 1: movie and he's like great, just classic classic bits from
- 38:44Speaker 1: that guy. Yeah, yeah, I love that he knows he
- 38:46Speaker 1: looks the same. I've never seen a child after look
- 38:49Speaker 1: the exact same as an adult. Like, there's no way
- 38:52Speaker 1: you don't know who he is. He is the exact
- 38:55Speaker 1: same guy he was in all these kids movies. It's crazy.
- 38:58Speaker 1: Whereas Henry rowing Gardner complete like middle age hit him
- 39:01Speaker 1: like a ton of bricks. Yeah, what's he doing right now?
- 39:03Speaker 1: He's on tour. I don't know, but he was on
- 39:05Speaker 1: the at a Savannah Bananas game and they recreated did
- 39:08Speaker 1: you not see that? And I saw someone attagging. I
- 39:10Speaker 1: was like, I need to go back and recreated like
- 39:12Speaker 1: he goes out to win the game and he they're like,
- 39:14Speaker 1: and he slips on the baseball and loses it and
- 39:17Speaker 1: he can't. It's really like a Savannah Banas. I don't
- 39:20Speaker 1: think is really for me as someone that just really
- 39:24Speaker 1: loves the like baseball. I love baseball. I don't I
- 39:29Speaker 1: don't want Harlem globe trotters of baseball, like bananas whatever.
- 39:33Speaker 1: But this thing really killed Like it was really funny
- 39:37Speaker 1: and he was in on it and did the whole thing,
- 39:39Speaker 1: and like, I loved it. I thought it was a
- 39:41Speaker 1: lot of fun, you know, I you know, I love
- 39:43Speaker 1: that movie. Oh yeah, all Timer, Hey, you know I
- 39:47Speaker 1: like that One's right, everybody geared up for Spider Man.
- 39:50Speaker 1: Everybody excited for Spider Man out there, Brian and I
- 39:52Speaker 1: guess he's Spider Man's fun.
- 39:55Speaker 4: I didn't really get all the hype. And so also
- 39:57Speaker 4: listening to you guys this morning recording the other ones,
- 40:00Speaker 4: No not really, I mean, yeah, the original ones, not
- 40:03Speaker 4: the newer ones.
- 40:05Speaker 1: What do you mean by original Toby McGuire.
- 40:07Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, not anything with Tommy boy here.
- 40:11Speaker 1: Yeah, but you've not seen the Andrew Garfield ones either,
- 40:14Speaker 1: I don't. I don't think so. Gosh, I say, I'm
- 40:17Speaker 1: going with a buddy mine tomorrow night. You can come along,
- 40:19Speaker 1: but I don't. I have to catch up.
- 40:21Speaker 4: A little bit here.
- 40:22Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean it would be you would be a
- 40:23Speaker 1: little bit in the dark there if you did not
- 40:25Speaker 1: see the other ones. But yeah, that'd be a wild
- 40:28Speaker 1: text me, Okay, it'd be a while playing. Did you
- 40:32Speaker 1: see The Odyssey? Brian?
- 40:35Speaker 4: Not yet?
- 40:35Speaker 1: Come on?
- 40:36Speaker 4: No, definitely want to Have.
- 40:38Speaker 1: You seen a movie in this one theaters? Since mimics?
- 40:41Speaker 1: Have you seen a movie in theaters? Yeah, kid's no,
- 40:48Speaker 1: I gotta go.
- 40:49Speaker 4: Yeah, I got this week's trick yet it's hard to
- 40:51Speaker 4: get get some time.
- 40:53Speaker 1: Yeah, but he has to write call Elizabeth whatever. It's July.
- 40:58Speaker 1: He's got plenty of time. It's one movie. Also, the Odyssey.
- 41:02Speaker 1: I mean, you need to go. It gets phenomenal, Like
- 41:04Speaker 1: you need to go. As far as movies to see
- 41:07Speaker 1: in the theater, I think the Odyssey is kind of
- 41:10Speaker 1: one of one. I think it's an experience. You need
- 41:12Speaker 1: to go. AMC's given free socks. Oh, I don't know
- 41:17Speaker 1: what that like. Spider Man Sox. I like Spider Man Sox. Dude?
- 41:21Speaker 1: How cool is Michael B. Jordan? Did you see him
- 41:23Speaker 1: last night at the Red Carpet? No, you didn't see
- 41:26Speaker 1: the Red Carpet for he was at the Brand New
- 41:28Speaker 1: Day Red Carpet for what reason? So the director of
- 41:31Speaker 1: Spider May Brand New Da Dustin Daniel Cretin directed him,
- 41:34Speaker 1: and just Mercy, so he's dear friends with him. He's
- 41:37Speaker 1: also friends with a couple other folks in the cast.
- 41:39Speaker 1: But he also is a huge Spider Man fan. So
- 41:42Speaker 1: he showed up in a Spider Man retro t shirt
- 41:45Speaker 1: and walk the Red carpet just to go over and
- 41:48Speaker 1: see the movie early as a fan, and then to
- 41:50Speaker 1: just congratulate all his buddies and was literally there just
- 41:52Speaker 1: to be like, your movie's amazing. Like the just released
- 41:56Speaker 1: the trailer of his new movie that's coming out. I
- 41:58Speaker 1: don't remember what it's called. He voiced a character of
- 42:02Speaker 1: the Netflix cartoon Swapped. Wasn't bad. He did a good job.
- 42:08Speaker 1: Thoughts on the Doomsday trailer. I've not seen it. I
- 42:11Speaker 1: won't see it till I'm in the movie theater. The
- 42:13Speaker 1: new trailer did work for me. It did. Yeah, okay,
- 42:17Speaker 1: don't tell me anything.
- 42:19Speaker 3: The initial little teaser thing they put out I didn't
- 42:21Speaker 3: really care. But the new trailer worked. And then apparently
- 42:23Speaker 3: they did a even newer trailer at Comic cond that
- 42:26Speaker 3: I don't think is public yet.
- 42:28Speaker 1: Oh it's a great shirt. Look at this guy shirt.
- 42:30Speaker 1: Look at this guy. What's his what's his new movie?
- 42:32Speaker 3: That just kind he's good though, that Michael b But
- 42:36Speaker 3: like he literally was just Michael at the end of
- 42:38Speaker 3: the day, just walking around like wanting to hang out
- 42:40Speaker 3: and see the new Spider Man movie.
- 42:42Speaker 1: I mean, he just he's a bet Academy Award winning
- 42:44Speaker 1: Best actor and he showed up in a T shirt
- 42:46Speaker 1: to watch a cool movie and support his friends. Like
- 42:50Speaker 1: I get it. I get it. It's pretty cool event
- 42:51Speaker 1: to get to go to. But I bet you he
- 42:53Speaker 1: gets invited to thought like you, if you're that famous,
- 42:55Speaker 1: you get invited all these Red carpets And he's like, no,
- 42:58Speaker 1: I'm doing this, Like that's pretty awesome. I'd go. I'd
- 43:01Speaker 1: get if I'd go to the Red Carpets all the
- 43:04Speaker 1: time just to watch the movie. You say that, but
- 43:06Speaker 1: if you were busy doing your job all the time,
- 43:08Speaker 1: like I in theory, I would too, you know what
- 43:11Speaker 1: I mean, Like I would love to the Thomas Crown affair.
- 43:14Speaker 1: Oh wow, they're remaking that, Yes, and they put out
- 43:17Speaker 1: a little uh oh yeah, he'd be perfect trailer. Yeah, Brandon,
- 43:24Speaker 1: I'm excited about brand new Day. I'm also going to
- 43:27Speaker 1: see The Odyssey again on Friday, so you know, Emily
- 43:32Speaker 1: seeing Odyssey on Saturday morning. No available tickets, Yeah, I bought.
- 43:36Speaker 1: I'm taking my wife seeing the Imax and uh it.
- 43:41Speaker 1: The the fact that it's selling tickets that for in
- 43:44Speaker 1: advance on Imax is just crazy. Like I bought the
- 43:47Speaker 1: tickets two weeks ago and our Imax isn't even like
- 43:50Speaker 1: a seventy milimeter Imax, So it's those are sold out.
- 43:55Speaker 1: There's only like twenty five of them in America and
- 43:56Speaker 1: they're all sold out for weeks and weeks. Imagine going
- 43:59Speaker 1: and you get the front row seat. I was just like,
- 44:01Speaker 1: have you seen the pictures of people that sit in
- 44:03Speaker 1: the front road for IMAX movies. I will make their
- 44:05Speaker 1: faces look like Yes King and Shrek if you get
- 44:09Speaker 1: too close to a digital I'm actually a digital screen,
- 44:13Speaker 1: you'll see pixels. If you see it on seventy mil
- 44:16Speaker 1: and you're in the in the front road, the image
- 44:19Speaker 1: will be just as clear as if you see it
- 44:20Speaker 1: in the background because it's film. Jackie, I see that
- 44:23Speaker 1: hands wait for here we go. I to figure it out.
- 44:28Speaker 1: We go. We got this on the edge.
- 44:35Speaker 5: There.
- 44:36Speaker 10: It's a little too small on the iPad. So I
- 44:42Speaker 10: was listening to John Stewart interview Christopher Nolan.
- 44:45Speaker 1: Great interview.
- 44:46Speaker 10: Oh that's what I wanted to make sure you saw it,
- 44:49Speaker 10: because that just explained everything about that seventy milimeter. I'm
- 44:54Speaker 10: hoping to go this weekend. The person I'm going with
- 44:56Speaker 10: is my mom, and unfortunately she can't get into the
- 45:00Speaker 10: movie theater that is the Imax by us though we're
- 45:02Speaker 10: gonna have to go to a regular theater. But it's
- 45:04Speaker 10: also only six dollars, so I mean it's a trade off.
- 45:08Speaker 1: Six bucks can't beat it. And I saw it on
- 45:11Speaker 1: a regular screen and it was phenomenal. I mean it
- 45:14Speaker 1: was like I will say, like, as someone that loves
- 45:18Speaker 1: Christopher Nolan and has for twenty five years, I know
- 45:21Speaker 1: that you shouldn't listen to me on this, but of
- 45:24Speaker 1: his movies in the theater. I can understand a certain
- 45:29Speaker 1: group of folks that just wouldn't It's not their thing.
- 45:31Speaker 1: Like there was a video of Alonso talking about Memento,
- 45:34Speaker 1: which is one of my all time favorite movies, and
- 45:36Speaker 1: he's just he watched it for the first time this
- 45:38Speaker 1: month for breakfast all day and he just goes, hey,
- 45:41Speaker 1: it's a cool movie. I don't care. I don't care
- 45:43Speaker 1: about the characters. And the comments like just were vitriolic,
- 45:47Speaker 1: and I'm like, he didn't like he said he didn't
- 45:49Speaker 1: care about the characters. Who cares? So Like I do
- 45:51Speaker 1: think Christopher Nolan can be inaccessible at times. This movie
- 45:54Speaker 1: is like Gladiator. Like if you remember Gladiator, Russell Crowe
- 45:58Speaker 1: in the theater and it was like an all play.
- 46:01Speaker 1: It was like, if you're twelve to ninety two and
- 46:04Speaker 1: you love a good story, Gladiator plays, Gladiator hits. It
- 46:10Speaker 1: just culminates with a great This is easily his most
- 46:14Speaker 1: successible feature, aside from the Batman movies. Like I do
- 46:17Speaker 1: think it is a full on if you have any
- 46:20Speaker 1: life experience of any kind, I think as a child
- 46:26Speaker 1: or a parent, like I think you're gonna resonate with
- 46:29Speaker 1: the movie. I think it's just a It just is
- 46:30Speaker 1: a really really well done movie with crazy good performances. Yeah,
- 46:35Speaker 1: there are movies of his I like more like I
- 46:39Speaker 1: like Oppenheimer and Memento or My Jam, but this is
- 46:43Speaker 1: undeniably his best movie from a standpoint of like going
- 46:47Speaker 1: to the theater and seeing a movie on the big
- 46:49Speaker 1: screen the way he would like you to see it.
- 46:51Speaker 1: So this is If ever there was a Nolan movie,
- 46:54Speaker 1: I would like, it would be this one because it's
- 46:56Speaker 1: Greek mythology and I don't like Greek mythology actively everything
- 47:01Speaker 1: about it I should not like, and it was fantastic.
- 47:04Speaker 1: So yeah, it's I can't imagine the people that, I mean,
- 47:08Speaker 1: everyone like it. Seems to be a unanimous thing, but
- 47:11Speaker 1: the folks that are the very vocal minority that don't
- 47:13Speaker 1: like it are Greek mythology experts that are kind of
- 47:18Speaker 1: pushing up their glasses and going, well, can you believe
- 47:21Speaker 1: that in his translation of this blah blah blah, I'm like, like,
- 47:24Speaker 1: he literally takes pretty much all the gods out of it.
- 47:28Speaker 1: You could argue, without spoiling anything, you could argue you
- 47:31Speaker 1: don't see a god or goddess all movie. You don't
- 47:34Speaker 1: see one all movie long, and their presence or gods
- 47:39Speaker 1: or goddess is actually existing is actually up for debate.
- 47:42Speaker 1: In his version of this movie, which I found to
- 47:45Speaker 1: be fantastic, Emily, Greek mythology bros should one one hundred
- 47:50Speaker 1: percent be on the Worst Bro's list. It's just that
- 47:52Speaker 1: that seems like such a niche bro. The problem is
- 47:55Speaker 1: a lot of folks that are Greek Like, there's a
- 47:57Speaker 1: lot of folks that love Greek mythology and they are
- 48:00Speaker 1: not terrible about it, whereas that's not the case with
- 48:04Speaker 1: Star Wars and Nolan and Marvel and all these other
- 48:06Speaker 1: classic bad bros theology. You know, there's a lot of
- 48:10Speaker 1: bad bros out there. What other bros are like? What
- 48:13Speaker 1: fill out the list? I think? I think in all honesty,
- 48:16Speaker 1: theology bros, Star Wars Bros, Nolan bros and Marvel bros
- 48:21Speaker 1: be hard pressed, but leave movies where where where else
- 48:24Speaker 1: are we carbros carbros can be real, Martin can be
- 48:30Speaker 1: not all of them like I like I'm a I'm a.
- 48:33Speaker 1: I love Chris Nolan, but I don't get in the
- 48:35Speaker 1: comments session.
- 48:36Speaker 5: Remember Brandon, you gotta dance, you know, dance quickly?
- 48:41Speaker 1: There because man Maros and he heard he's gonna come running.
- 48:46Speaker 1: I'm not saying everyone that loves cars is a bad guy.
- 48:49Speaker 1: I'm saying the sub sect of car bros, which I
- 48:51Speaker 1: would not count Martin as a part of. Has he
- 48:55Speaker 1: ever gone on just a random message board of people
- 48:57Speaker 1: that don't love cars to comment how they're all right
- 49:00Speaker 1: about cars? Has he done that? If so, then maybe
- 49:02Speaker 1: he is a car bro. Like you know what I meant.
- 49:07Speaker 1: He imagined him finding a fast and furious, like just
- 49:10Speaker 1: a thing about how much they love Dom and the family.
- 49:13Speaker 1: And he's like, well, the gto in that movie was
- 49:16Speaker 1: a six cylind term we all know the combustion in
- 49:19Speaker 1: the the turbo charging. He would never what do he?
- 49:22Speaker 1: Oh no, maybe maybe he is my bad chirade.
- 49:28Speaker 5: But that was when he was listening to you.
- 49:30Speaker 1: No, No, that's different. He knows us. He knows us.
- 49:32Speaker 1: That's like when I say the bros Are bad, it's
- 49:34Speaker 1: like the commenters on Alonzo's Memento review, like, you don't
- 49:38Speaker 1: know Alonzo. And he said he didn't care about the characters.
- 49:40Speaker 1: Who cares if he doesn't like moment like like those
- 49:43Speaker 1: people or like the Star Wars bros. Who are always
- 49:45Speaker 1: telling you why in the expanded universe and the canon
- 49:48Speaker 1: is blah blah blah or the Marvel Bros tend to
- 49:51Speaker 1: come out and force and if anyone leaves a bad review,
- 49:53Speaker 1: they just hate mail them. They send him all this
- 49:56Speaker 1: the emails about how you're a terrible critic and you're
- 49:59Speaker 1: awful and you don't know what you're talking about. You
- 50:00Speaker 1: don't understand the grand scheme of things. So that's probably,
- 50:03Speaker 1: like I have to think about it more. That says Marlbros,
- 50:06Speaker 1: which is pretty good. Yeah, Marl Bros. That's pretty good.
- 50:09Speaker 1: I thought it said Mario Bro. That's good. That's a
- 50:11Speaker 1: good betch like Marlboros, Marlboroughs. That's right. CrossFit Bros have
- 50:15Speaker 1: to be on the list. That's one hundred percent have
- 50:18Speaker 1: to be on that list. I think it's an easy
- 50:20Speaker 1: I think we could, you know, Yeah, doctor Who's a
- 50:24Speaker 1: weird one that that would be. But it's that's very
- 50:26Speaker 1: very niche. But maybe it's just where it's not in it. Yeah, yeah,
- 50:31Speaker 1: doctor Who's big, Doctor Who's I don't. I don't know,
- 50:35Speaker 1: but I when I say it's niche, I don't, it's not.
- 50:37Speaker 1: It's a massive thing. I think for me to be
- 50:40Speaker 1: a terrible and a terrible Bros group, it has to
- 50:43Speaker 1: cross pollinate. There has to be times where you are
- 50:45Speaker 1: your life is interfered with because of this fan base.
- 50:48Speaker 1: Right like if Doctor Who bros Are just doing their
- 50:51Speaker 1: own thing and the Doctor Who will then But it
- 50:55Speaker 1: seems like when it comes to some of these properties,
- 50:57Speaker 1: these folks just can't keep their mouth shut. It's like
- 51:00Speaker 1: these like Nolan bros. Are becoming terrible, Like they just
- 51:03Speaker 1: show up to everything and if anybody has anything negative
- 51:06Speaker 1: to say, they just decide they're just gonna like shut
- 51:09Speaker 1: it out through yelling. And I hate it so much
- 51:11Speaker 1: Hiking Bros. Or Iron Man Marathon Bros. One hundred percent. Dude.
- 51:17Speaker 1: My wife has done a marathon and she literally never
- 51:20Speaker 1: talks about it. But any dude. That's the other thing
- 51:23Speaker 1: about bros Is it's predominantly males that are This is
- 51:26Speaker 1: the problem with Like, you don't see a lot of
- 51:28Speaker 1: female Nolan fans who are out there in the message
- 51:31Speaker 1: boards correcting people. You know, it's usually always just idiot dudes.
- 51:37Speaker 1: But like, if you meet a dude that did an
- 51:38Speaker 1: iron Man, oh my god, like try to get him
- 51:41Speaker 1: to stop talking about it like it's ridiculous. And then
- 51:44Speaker 1: usually if I find someone like that, I'll just get
- 51:46Speaker 1: like I'll just ask them enough questions and then I'll realize,
- 51:49Speaker 1: like my wife's tall Bros. That's a good dude. A
- 51:55Speaker 1: guy who decides he's got to tell you about his
- 51:56Speaker 1: whole round of golf. Holy moley that Oh my goodness,
- 52:01Speaker 1: great point. Yeah that's golf bros. I mean, yeah, that's
- 52:05Speaker 1: a tough one there, for sure. I think we both
- 52:08Speaker 1: got it. I think iron Man Bros. Golf Bros. And
- 52:11Speaker 1: and uh CrossFit bros. All have to be on that list.
- 52:15Speaker 1: I think we're doing it. We're close. Lawn Bros. That's funny. Yeah,
- 52:21Speaker 1: landscaping Bros. I would say you could also do like
- 52:25Speaker 1: gri grilling, like grilling bro smoke like barbecue Bros. I
- 52:29Speaker 1: think is definitely no. A lot of these are things
- 52:32Speaker 1: that I love. Yeah, I mean I listen. I wish
- 52:36Speaker 1: I was a long. Oh, finance Bros. Is a real
- 52:39Speaker 1: terrible one. Oh that's you know, yeah crypto bros. Dude. Yeh,
- 52:42Speaker 1: Finance Bros. You get around three or four of those guys,
- 52:46Speaker 1: I'd rather just rip my ears out. That is the
- 52:49Speaker 1: But the guys that think they're finance bros because they're
- 52:52Speaker 1: a crypto is like another side. And I say this
- 52:55Speaker 1: as someone who if you're Ryan Popolo Langley commenced, they
- 52:58Speaker 1: got stuck talking to me about finance for way longer
- 53:01Speaker 1: than they anticipated, and I apologize to them profusely. So
- 53:06Speaker 1: I know that, you know, I know, like I like
- 53:09Speaker 1: talking about that stuff. But craft beer bros. Oh right,
- 53:13Speaker 1: ray got that's a great one too. Yeah, it says
- 53:16Speaker 1: the guy who brought the top ten best beers. That's
- 53:19Speaker 1: different celebratory beers. It's different. It's different, it's different. Yeah,
- 53:23Speaker 1: it doesn't make him a beer. Anybody that makes fun
- 53:25Speaker 1: of me for drinking corps a light, I'm like, cool, dude, great,
- 53:28Speaker 1: happy for you, Happy that you've found your thing and
- 53:32Speaker 1: it's not cors liked. So I think we got it.
- 53:34Speaker 1: I think we crushed that. I think we got it. Yeah. Yeah,
- 53:38Speaker 1: make everybody mad. One list. It's a good list to do.
- 53:41Speaker 1: Then you know all the commenters will come to this
- 53:43Speaker 1: one list to just argue they're not as bad as
- 53:46Speaker 1: these other people. What do people want more of them?
- 53:48Speaker 3: Do they want the top ten worst bros Or top
- 53:53Speaker 3: ten Hallmark Leading ladies based.
- 53:57Speaker 1: On looks working on Yeah, yeah, yeah, no, of course,
- 54:01Speaker 1: of course I would say based on looks on TV.
- 54:05Speaker 1: But that that what do we decide that not as
- 54:08Speaker 1: impressive in real life. That's a good one. There's a
- 54:15Speaker 1: scene in this new Lacey Sebear show that Jack's like says,
- 54:20Speaker 1: is the most she's look great, dude has Like I was, like,
- 54:24Speaker 1: I actually said, which we never I was like, this
- 54:26Speaker 1: is as attractive as Lacey Shaber has ever been. That said,
- 54:29Speaker 1: we recorded that yesterday. It will come out. There's a
- 54:31Speaker 1: scene in this new show with Lacy Shabert and Scott
- 54:34Speaker 1: Michael Foster that is one of them, like the more
- 54:38Speaker 1: impressively like hot scenes that they've done in anything, right,
- 54:43Speaker 1: Like you would agree that.
- 54:46Speaker 3: I don't know if they added a sound or not.
- 54:49Speaker 3: It felt like they added a sizzle sound when it happened.
- 54:52Speaker 1: I mean, but you may have added it in your mind,
- 54:54Speaker 1: you know. Yeah. To go back to Jack's Wax is
- 54:57Speaker 1: poetic about it for a long time. And I think
- 55:00Speaker 1: also it's because it's an enemy still lovers, and they're
- 55:02Speaker 1: not supposed to be getting together.
- 55:04Speaker 3: Beth's reading the book. Brian's also reading the book. Brian
- 55:07Speaker 3: thoughts on the Paris is always a good idea book.
- 55:11Speaker 1: I haven't touched it. Yeah, Brian. Brian and I both
- 55:14Speaker 1: have copies, though I got I got my copy. They
- 55:17Speaker 1: sent us two copies. They knew Dan wouldn't want one,
- 55:20Speaker 1: and we got two copies. I have one by my bed,
- 55:25Speaker 1: just ready to read. I gave Brian. The other copy
- 55:28Speaker 1: comes with a nice book mark.
- 55:29Speaker 4: Yeah, man, shut out blame cover though.
- 55:31Speaker 1: Tell you what, Yeah, Brian's disappointed in the cover. Well,
- 55:35Speaker 1: I this idea as a novel has got a little
- 55:41Speaker 1: bit of an eat prey love field. It's a novel attempt.
- 55:43Speaker 1: I'll say that I think that, I mean, I think
- 55:48Speaker 1: it could work as a book, for sure. But I
- 55:50Speaker 1: think that the way that they're doing the TV show
- 55:52Speaker 1: is pretty great, so very good. We got four minutes, Beth,
- 55:56Speaker 1: and do you have a list of questions or we
- 55:58Speaker 1: are we caught up on We're good of questions.
- 56:01Speaker 3: Great, she doesn't have any perfect good love that great?
- 56:03Speaker 3: I mean, so that means that we we're just we're
- 56:05Speaker 3: here putting it all out here.
- 56:06Speaker 1: We're family.
- 56:08Speaker 3: Uh well, we are happy that we're still doing this.
- 56:12Speaker 3: It makes us you know, I was thinking about it,
- 56:15Speaker 3: We talked about it, before Bramblefest, and I think you
- 56:18Speaker 3: alluded to.
- 56:18Speaker 1: It, but we we got.
- 56:21Speaker 3: The words that follow us out the week before Bramblefest
- 56:25Speaker 3: twenty five, week leading up to Bramblefest twenty five and
- 56:28Speaker 3: Dan and I just had to sit on that that
- 56:30Speaker 3: that was happening, and knowing full well that that could
- 56:34Speaker 3: be this could be it. We could not do this
- 56:36Speaker 3: again next year, and the fact that we got to
- 56:38Speaker 3: do another one made us really happy, and the fact
- 56:42Speaker 3: that we it was our favorite one yet made us
- 56:44Speaker 3: even happier.
- 56:45Speaker 1: And you know, we're still doing it. We're gonna head
- 56:48Speaker 1: into We just want to make it to ten. If
- 56:50Speaker 1: we make it to ten, I mean, well I'll say this.
- 56:54Speaker 1: If we can't make it to ten, I'll be disappointed.
- 56:56Speaker 1: I think there was an easy opportunity for us to
- 56:59Speaker 1: get really frustrated and have a lot of anxiety, like
- 57:04Speaker 1: around this time last year. But when you always when
- 57:06Speaker 1: you hold this thing with an open hand and you're
- 57:07Speaker 1: so grateful, like you know, every time we do Bramblefest
- 57:10Speaker 1: and people are like, you know, this community is unbelievable,
- 57:14Speaker 1: and we're like, yeah, it is. We still are kind
- 57:16Speaker 1: of in all of it. It allows you to move
- 57:19Speaker 1: with a freedom that if you get to do it
- 57:21Speaker 1: the rest of your life, then that's the best. That's
- 57:23Speaker 1: the best version. But the fact that you got to
- 57:25Speaker 1: do it at all, it's pretty great for the way
- 57:28Speaker 1: at this point, Like it feels great just to be here,
- 57:31Speaker 1: and it feels great to keep doing it. And we're
- 57:34Speaker 1: not like soft quitting. We're not doing that. We're still
- 57:37Speaker 1: doing it like nowhere. We have no plans to stop.
- 57:40Speaker 1: All I'm saying is I hope we get to ten. Yeah,
- 57:43Speaker 1: that's all I'm saying. We just need to get to
- 57:45Speaker 1: ten and I and that once once we get to ten,
- 57:48Speaker 1: and everything after ten is like all right, But it's great.
- 57:51Speaker 1: I think everything at this point is great. But to
- 57:53Speaker 1: say you're so close to ten, we're so close to
- 57:55Speaker 1: we're so close to ten that the way you're talking
- 57:57Speaker 1: those sounds like we're going to be shutting it down
- 57:59Speaker 1: at any the way that you're talking, not that I
- 58:04Speaker 1: know of you. I don't do the money. Yeah, I
- 58:07Speaker 1: just try to make it. I'm the one that would
- 58:09Speaker 1: have I just try to make the money and then
- 58:12Speaker 1: from there I let it go. I was saying this
- 58:14Speaker 1: the toughest since we're doing this finance talk. I'm a
- 58:16Speaker 1: finance broad with one on the way that these are
- 58:19Speaker 1: making my head hurt. The yes, they are slutty little
- 58:23Speaker 1: glasses and we're sharing them. We're sharing the slutty little glasses. Uh.
- 58:27Speaker 1: The way that the hard part about our money is
- 58:30Speaker 1: is that the dynamic targeted ads which we have, those
- 58:33Speaker 1: like radio style commercials, we just have no way to Like,
- 58:37Speaker 1: we had great months in April and May, best we've
- 58:41Speaker 1: ever had, and then this month currently worst we've ever
- 58:46Speaker 1: had and we don't know why. We don't know why
- 58:49Speaker 1: that's and it has nothing to do with the numbers
- 58:51Speaker 1: of the show, but the amount of money we've made
- 58:53Speaker 1: off of those, this will be the lowest month we've
- 58:56Speaker 1: I think ever had. And so that always kind of
- 58:59Speaker 1: is just like, well, if we do this for four
- 59:01Speaker 1: more straight months, we might be in some trouble. And so,
- 59:04Speaker 1: but like April and May, I was like, dude, if
- 59:06Speaker 1: we do this every month, we're set. So you know,
- 59:11Speaker 1: you just can't. You go to sleep and you get
- 59:13Speaker 1: a good night's sleep and you're thankful, and you wake
- 59:15Speaker 1: up the next thing, you do it again.
- 59:17Speaker 3: So you know, if you find yourself with a desire
- 59:22Speaker 3: to help, potentially with social media. We might be doing
- 59:26Speaker 3: different things with social media here in the next month
- 59:29Speaker 3: or so, with different shows and whatnot reach out. We
- 59:33Speaker 3: have Heather who's helping us out on the Gilmore the
- 59:36Speaker 3: Merrier Instagram as like a test of how and it's
- 59:41Speaker 3: going great if it can help grow a show posting
- 59:45Speaker 3: reels regularly about one specific thing and it actually is working.
- 59:49Speaker 3: And so that's been a nice trial run and giving
- 59:52Speaker 3: us some ideas for different things we could do with
- 59:54Speaker 3: Deck the Hallmark in the future, where maybe we have
- 59:58Speaker 3: different like Gilmore the Marria is a Deck the Hallmark show,
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: but it's also its own thing.
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: Maybe the Marvel Bros. Is a thing like those are
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: all little things within the Deck the Hallmark. Having Gilmour
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: the Mirror on its own feed has made us just
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: putting in it on its own fee, which takes an
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: extra ten seconds. Maybe just doing that makes us hundreds
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: of dollars more a month just doing that. So we've like,
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: if we have all this Marvel content which messes up
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: our algorithm for Deck the Hallmark having it on its
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: own feed, if we can replicate that, that would help
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: a great deal. I don't really know if that, like
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: we'll see, we'll see what because there's plenty of Marvel
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: stuff to cover, so and also bet then, I want
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: to be very clear, I would have shaved my head
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: by now if it weren't for my children. Like my
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: children think the worst possible thing I can be is bald,
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: and I don't know how to explain to them that
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: it's happening anyway. So for me, like just shave, just
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: get it out. And and my kids are like, Dad,
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: please don't shave your head. They are so embarrassed. They
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: are so they're just like, don't wouldn't want to be
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: seen in public with me if my if my head
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: was shaved, And I'm just like, guys, it's just not
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: a big deal. So but year ten, I said it
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: in a best of which you still got two full years.
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: So maybe by then my hair will be all going in.
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: Well someone about to say, are going to say, Elizabeth, Yeah.
- 1:01:17Speaker 5: Yeah, I was just gonna say, like, uh, Laura asked it.
- 1:01:20Speaker 5: You know what we could do? Best way to help
- 1:01:22Speaker 5: you monetize is that running YouTube in the back?
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: Is it YouTube YouTube? It doesn't? I mean like if
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: we got more, I mean YouTube is like a you know,
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: a triple digital month venture.
- 1:01:36Speaker 5: For us downloading the podcast one.
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: No. Yeah, the best thing we did was create bramble
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: gem plus and the worst thing we did for our
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: money was create bramble jem plus.
- 1:01:48Speaker 5: Just but we could always download it off the feed.
- 1:01:50Speaker 5: Well that would give you as.
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: Well. We switched from Patreon because we got a more
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: agreeable cut from and we had more cut sturmizable options
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: at super cast. But what that did was is that
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: with Patreon you just do a separate feed for your
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: bonus stuff and you keep all your regular stuff where
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: they have to listen and pay the full you know,
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: listen to the full ads. And we gave it ad
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: free for a cost obviously, but that you know, there's
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: a trade off there that that makes that tough, but
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: that it's not I mean, like it is what it is.
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: We're thrilled we did it. It created for sure. All
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: that to say, if you're interested in helping, if you
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: like have a little bit of an interest in social
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: media stuff, reach out to me and uh, you know,
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: we'll go from there.
- 1:02:36Speaker 4: What do we reach out to if you want to do.
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: Less reach out Brian? Actually, Brian, that's an interesting question
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: because Brian's been wanting to do more. So if you
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: can reach out to Brian about how to do less,
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: he'll be able to point in if you have random
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: book ideas, reach out.
- 1:02:52Speaker 4: Send me your Christmas con stories.
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: Christmas stories, yes that is true, but yeah that's you
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: actually do need that. Send me your Christmas con stories.
- 1:03:01Speaker 4: Yes, things you like, things you don't.
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: Like, yes, right, whether it's Christmas Con or other conventions.
- 1:03:07Speaker 4: Just Christmas Con for now, we'll start there.
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: What about rama? What about rama? Drama? Drama? What about
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: Christmas in a small town decade days?
- 1:03:13Speaker 4: I'm not accepting that right now.
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: I'm not accepting that right now. But sign them up
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: for all the newsletters. Brian say, where over we got
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: to go? That's right, Okay, bye everybody, Bye bye
