- 0:40Speaker 2: great because I spent four hours lying on the couch today. Yeah,
- 0:45Speaker 2: after you correctly pointed out that I woke up at
- 0:47Speaker 2: ten am. Yeah, one hundred percent. So I've got this
- 0:50Speaker 2: eyemask that I put on, and you keep the curtains closed,
- 0:54Speaker 2: and my wife got up and went to the German
- 0:56Speaker 2: was working in the other room, and I'd genuinely just
- 0:59Speaker 2: gone to the world. Wake up ten am? Holy shit?
- 1:02Speaker 2: How good?
- 1:03Speaker 4: Isn't it amazing how long I hangover can last? What
- 1:06Speaker 4: you mean just being pieces well that you've had that?
- 1:08Speaker 4: So you are eating a reburger at three am in
- 1:13Speaker 4: bed not long after that, so you got yourself seven
- 1:16Speaker 4: hours sleep?
- 1:17Speaker 1: Not bad? Did you have a doze this afternoon? I
- 1:21Speaker 1: just still be absolutely cooked.
- 1:25Speaker 3: What you'll find, and this is what I always found,
- 1:27Speaker 3: was actually the first day's henus and not great. The
- 1:33Speaker 3: second day is pretty shit, and the third day you're
- 1:37Speaker 3: really grumpy.
- 1:38Speaker 1: That's what I find.
- 1:39Speaker 2: See, I don't even get grumpy.
- 1:41Speaker 1: The third I'm just tired.
- 1:43Speaker 4: As I'm never puking, I never feel sick, and none
- 1:46Speaker 4: of that. I'm just I've been poisoned by excessive alcohol
- 1:51Speaker 4: consumption and my body just needs some time to work.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Yes, that's a few days.
- 1:57Speaker 4: I just it's going offline for a few and I
- 2:01Speaker 4: can't do anything else.
- 2:02Speaker 3: I'm the opposite of that. I don't get tired. I wish,
- 2:07Speaker 3: I get anxious. I wish I could sleep, but I don't.
- 2:10Speaker 3: If I hung over, I'll wake up at like six
- 2:13Speaker 3: thirty and then be awake till midnight that day.
- 2:18Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely same here. It's it's horrendous.
- 2:20Speaker 2: I get really My wife hates I get really clinging
- 2:22Speaker 2: when I'm hungover. We've talked about that.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Yeah, because you know, you need a bit of love.
- 2:27Speaker 2: You're really vulner you just seed someone.
- 2:29Speaker 4: You're walking around the house with your hoodie on like
- 2:31Speaker 4: your hood, your hood.
- 2:33Speaker 2: Yeah, I've got so this this is my hangover outfit
- 2:36Speaker 2: that I can work in, which is black track pants,
- 2:38Speaker 2: black hoodie. But like, yeah, you know, at home, I've
- 2:41Speaker 2: got an all green bum pants tracksuit bum pants, like
- 2:45Speaker 2: like you know, around the house tracking homeless. Yeah, cotton,
- 2:50Speaker 2: you know.
- 2:51Speaker 3: I mean, I can tell you and and deservedly so
- 2:54Speaker 3: I get fuck all sympathy from my wife if I'm hungover.
- 2:57Speaker 2: My wife's actually quite good.
- 2:59Speaker 1: GE's like, fuck you man, you're good. We tend to
- 3:04Speaker 1: you can go and get hammer in the next day.
- 3:07Speaker 4: The other person will sort of carry the load of
- 3:08Speaker 4: what needs to be done around the house. Yes, because
- 3:11Speaker 4: it's quite mean if someone's hang over, let them go
- 3:15Speaker 4: and do shit. Yeah, exactly, sure, unless you take the
- 3:18Speaker 4: purce with it. But yeah, good night last night fellas.
- 3:21Speaker 4: That was our first radio was jes said, you enjoy
- 3:23Speaker 4: that man that I sit next to you. Oh, that's right,
- 3:28Speaker 4: we did. I did. I can say I didn't enjoy
- 3:32Speaker 4: it at all about one hundred and twenty awards, but
- 3:35Speaker 4: in keys of you're quite clear that it's ship and
- 3:38Speaker 4: that the enjoyable part is afterwards.
- 3:40Speaker 1: Yes, as a question of why you bother going.
- 3:43Speaker 2: And ship if you're a little tiny disruptor station like Hodu,
- 3:46Speaker 2: if you're fucking zib Or Zidim or the rock who
- 3:49Speaker 2: are massive. Yeah, it's great because you get you get
- 3:51Speaker 2: to all celebrate together with your giant team or the
- 3:54Speaker 2: big awards winning everything.
- 3:55Speaker 4: Yeah, it's quite funny scene. All the people go up
- 3:57Speaker 4: and you're just like Jesus Christ. I think there's five
- 3:59Speaker 4: of its.
- 4:01Speaker 3: Well, having said that, we actually did pretty well last night.
- 4:04Speaker 3: I thought we won three or four awards. But anyway, yeah, no, look,
- 4:08Speaker 3: it's award, doesn't it, And I mean it's fucking tedious.
- 4:10Speaker 2: It sucks to be king or like not that you
- 4:13Speaker 2: guys drink, but it seems particularly cruel.
- 4:15Speaker 1: It suck.
- 4:16Speaker 2: Yeah, but at least at least last night was fast,
- 4:19Speaker 2: Like it was like boom boom boom. That was That
- 4:21Speaker 2: was a very fast radio award.
- 4:22Speaker 1: It was two hours, yes hours.
- 4:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:26Speaker 1: So it's the first one I've been to. I'll never go.
- 4:28Speaker 2: Again unless you're up for a biggie Umm.
- 4:32Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean out of cur I think you'd go
- 4:34Speaker 4: out of courtesy to the people that you work with,
- 4:36Speaker 4: that that do the work.
- 4:38Speaker 1: That's where you go.
- 4:39Speaker 4: But fucking hell, yeah, there are some things there like
- 4:43Speaker 4: oh my god, what some of the just I can't
- 4:45Speaker 4: say it because it will make those people feel bad potentially.
- 4:47Speaker 4: But in terms of the some of the categories, oh my.
- 4:51Speaker 2: God, like a lot of recognizing the community radio.
- 4:55Speaker 1: No, no, I like that stuff.
- 4:56Speaker 2: That's good.
- 4:57Speaker 4: No, no, And I'll be honest with you the thing
- 4:59Speaker 4: I like the radio stuff. I like that stuff at
- 5:05Speaker 4: the risk you don't have to. I guess it's the
- 5:09Speaker 4: commercial side of it where you're like, it feels like
- 5:13Speaker 4: a separate thing.
- 5:15Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, total.
- 5:17Speaker 4: It's kind of like how at the Academy Awards they
- 5:20Speaker 4: want to separate out the Tech Awards from the Creative Awards,
- 5:24Speaker 4: you know, the actor and which I think is wrong
- 5:27Speaker 4: because then you're just separating people out.
- 5:29Speaker 1: But it is.
- 5:30Speaker 2: But I also think, yeah, because you're right, radio like
- 5:33Speaker 2: it should be the on the air and the execution
- 5:36Speaker 2: of campaigns, like outward facing stuff as opposed to.
- 5:39Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 5:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm just in favor of chopping the whole thing
- 5:42Speaker 2: right down, just sending it out in one email, even
- 5:46Speaker 2: straight to the I wan to be honest, it's the
- 5:49Speaker 2: most fun I've had a Radio Awards though.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Yeah, that's because making it funny because.
- 5:54Speaker 2: You'd gone home early doors.
- 5:56Speaker 1: I was on the couch by ten pounds nine.
- 5:58Speaker 2: That's pretty good going, Yeah, really good going. What time
- 6:01Speaker 2: are you on the couch, jays Er?
- 6:05Speaker 1: Well, I went to the gem on the way home.
- 6:07Speaker 3: I didn't.
- 6:09Speaker 2: I didn't.
- 6:10Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't get home to probably eight minutes after
- 6:12Speaker 4: it finished. It took me longer to get out of
- 6:15Speaker 4: the convention center than it did to get home.
- 6:17Speaker 2: Yeahd Were you a bit like, oh I wish I
- 6:20Speaker 2: was at the after party?
- 6:21Speaker 1: No?
- 6:21Speaker 4: Yeah, not at all, and especially today wake it up,
- 6:25Speaker 4: you know? Yeah, absolutely, the whole racky.
- 6:29Speaker 2: Big Show week days from four on radio hiarckycky Big
- 6:34Speaker 2: Show Podcast.
- 6:36Speaker 3: It's my fucking nightmare bit scenario packed with loud people
- 6:42Speaker 3: getting hammered no.
- 6:43Speaker 2: Thanks, sounds great to me, and I mean each to
- 6:47Speaker 2: their own. I made a point this year of there
- 6:51Speaker 2: are certain people in radio and or in any workplace
- 6:54Speaker 2: where you just don't want to get pinned down by
- 6:55Speaker 2: them having a yarn, and that I had a shocker
- 6:58Speaker 2: last year. And then the next day I was covering
- 7:01Speaker 2: in here and I got pinned down by about three
- 7:03Speaker 2: different people who are lovely, but it's just like, oh
- 7:05Speaker 2: my god, this.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Is yeah, I don't want to be having this chat.
- 7:07Speaker 2: Why am I not having chats with my friends and
- 7:09Speaker 2: everyone at hock and you know. And so this year
- 7:11Speaker 2: it was.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Far better, yes, because you didn't have that.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Yeah, I didn't have that. Actually, me and males were
- 7:16Speaker 2: chatting and then one of those people came over really
- 7:19Speaker 2: and then just sort of took myles off to the side,
- 7:21Speaker 2: and then I was just like swim And then afterwards,
- 7:26Speaker 2: thanks for that.
- 7:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:28Speaker 4: I I messaged the fellows at the Rock to congratulate
- 7:33Speaker 4: them on their win. Yes, big fans of the show,
- 7:36Speaker 4: they said to say, fellas, they love what you do.
- 7:39Speaker 1: They'd like to catch up with us.
- 7:43Speaker 4: Fucked And I said, look, I have a chat to
- 7:45Speaker 4: Keysy about it, and Keesy will be keen. But I
- 7:48Speaker 4: see Jace would rather be dead. Yeah, that's been come
- 7:51Speaker 4: out for a beer of coffee with you. Don't take
- 7:53Speaker 4: it personally. Yeah, he feels that way about everyone.
- 7:57Speaker 1: I mean, it's not inaccurate.
- 7:59Speaker 2: Well, I know for a long time Matt and Jerry
- 8:02Speaker 2: they catch up with the Morning Rumble Boys once a
- 8:04Speaker 2: year for a bit of a blowout.
- 8:05Speaker 1: And and who doesn't turn up Roger that's right, he
- 8:08Speaker 1: just won't.
- 8:09Speaker 2: He's our rog.
- 8:10Speaker 1: Yeah, totally. They catch up for a Christmas.
- 8:13Speaker 2: One, yeah, which I think is great.
- 8:14Speaker 1: I think it is great. Yeah, totally.
- 8:18Speaker 3: I I messaged Corby last night because I thought he
- 8:21Speaker 3: did a good job. Well he said, and he said, yeah,
- 8:26Speaker 3: she's a fucking marathon.
- 8:28Speaker 2: One hundred percent.
- 8:29Speaker 3: So slick though, but yeah, it's just bang bang bang
- 8:31Speaker 3: bang bang bang. Because I was forguring because they was
- 8:33Speaker 3: so all of the presenters actually very good and very good,
- 8:37Speaker 3: and I was like, how the funk are they? Where's
- 8:39Speaker 3: the Yeah, it was fucking way at the back of
- 8:43Speaker 3: the behind us, and I was like, Jesus, that's pretty
- 8:45Speaker 3: bloody impressive.
- 8:46Speaker 2: There was one fella there that helped present the awards.
- 8:48Speaker 2: I can't remember what station he was from, the Maldi
- 8:50Speaker 2: guy the gate was.
- 8:53Speaker 1: He was so slick man was amazing.
- 8:56Speaker 2: Yeah, and was said to Pugs a few times like
- 8:58Speaker 2: this dude fucking is so.
- 8:59Speaker 1: We should actually try and talk to that. I want to,
- 9:02Speaker 1: which it was otherworldly. His voice. Yeah, very very incredible.
- 9:07Speaker 1: I don't think he worked.
- 9:09Speaker 2: He was a radio radio New Zealand maybe Yeah, it might.
- 9:12Speaker 3: Be anything a Pacific political politically, he's a political commentator.
- 9:19Speaker 3: I don't know that he's a presenter.
- 9:21Speaker 1: I know he absolutely is.
- 9:23Speaker 2: If he's not, oh my god, yeah yeah, he was sucking.
- 9:26Speaker 2: The other guy that was awesome was the guy from
- 9:28Speaker 2: Northland more f m D who did last year. He did,
- 9:33Speaker 2: but like in this room full of people in suits
- 9:35Speaker 2: and you know, big shot, famous so called celebrities, this
- 9:40Speaker 2: this Mary follow with dreads. He's like fifty or something,
- 9:43Speaker 2: comes down and just cracks everyone up on stage, just
- 9:45Speaker 2: like I was at the bus stop this morning and
- 9:47Speaker 2: now I'm here in this room with I was like,
- 9:51Speaker 2: he was brilliant as well great talent.
- 9:53Speaker 1: He was great talent.
- 9:54Speaker 2: You're researching that guy, I am.
- 9:56Speaker 4: I'm trying to find him all the wan who knows
- 9:58Speaker 4: who was presented to tell you that.
- 10:06Speaker 1: Yeah, we'll see us next week. But yeah, I enjoyed that.
- 10:09Speaker 1: Well now you hated it, No, I enjoy talking about it.
- 10:12Speaker 4: Oh right, yeah yeah yeah, and I can I just
- 10:15Speaker 4: say big Sandy's.
- 10:18Speaker 2: Oh my god. On the Day Show, she won Best
- 10:21Speaker 2: New Broadcaster and she had to write into the Radio
- 10:24Speaker 2: Awards and get them to change their policy because you
- 10:27Speaker 2: were allowed to you had to be under the age
- 10:29Speaker 2: of thirty and Becker is almost fifty, that's right, And
- 10:32Speaker 2: so she wrote she got them to change the rules
- 10:33Speaker 2: and she won it.
- 10:34Speaker 1: That fucking it was pretty good. Yeah, that's really so good.
- 10:36Speaker 2: That's the best award. We won't I reckon?
- 10:38Speaker 1: Oh for sure? Fuck you Yeah no, no comparison
