- 0:09Speaker 1: Hey, what's up, everybody.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Welcome into this edition of The Checko Daily, a post
- 0:14Speaker 2: game edition of The Checko Daily. It's Andrew Dichecko recapping
- 0:19Speaker 2: the eagles twenty one to seventeen loss at the hands
- 0:23Speaker 2: of the Denver Broncos. Moving on to four and one
- 0:27Speaker 2: Thursday night, they'll have the New York Giants at MetLife
- 0:30Speaker 2: Stadium and have a short week and a quick turnaround
- 0:34Speaker 2: to sort of get this bad taste out of their mouth.
- 0:36Speaker 2: But let's get to it, because this was not a
- 0:39Speaker 2: pretty game by any standards for the offense, just nine
- 0:45Speaker 2: runs from all three of their running backs. Saquon Barkley
- 0:48Speaker 2: had six carries for thirty yards. AJ Dillon two for
- 0:51Speaker 2: twelve and Will Shipley won for zero. Jay when Hurts
- 0:55Speaker 2: had a couple of runs on his own. But you
- 0:58Speaker 2: look at that combined with what Jalen Hurts. He dropped
- 1:01Speaker 2: back over thirty times in this game, and there was
- 1:05Speaker 2: not a lot of balance there. It almost felt like
- 1:07Speaker 2: they were over correcting and trying to get that passing
- 1:11Speaker 2: game going, trying very hard to do so at the
- 1:14Speaker 2: expense of trying to stay committed to their foundation, and
- 1:17Speaker 2: that is the ground attack and obviously it was not
- 1:21Speaker 2: going well. I just read for you the numbers, and
- 1:24Speaker 2: they lost Landon Dickerson early in that game to an
- 1:27Speaker 2: ankle injury and he did not come back in that game,
- 1:31Speaker 2: so that put Brett Toth in there at left guard.
- 1:33Speaker 2: They were already ineffective running the football. That certainly didn't
- 1:37Speaker 2: help matters. They also lost tight end Grant kal Kata
- 1:39Speaker 2: with an oblique injury. Grant had two catches for eighteen
- 1:42Speaker 2: yards early in that game. So let's look at it
- 1:45Speaker 2: because this was a tail of two halves. And this
- 1:48Speaker 2: sounds like, you know, deja vu, because we seemingly talk
- 1:52Speaker 2: about this each and every week with this Eagles offense.
- 1:55Speaker 2: They got the game started pretty effectively with the passing game.
- 2:00Speaker 2: I thought jaywhen Hurst was decisive, he was getting the
- 2:03Speaker 2: ball out of his hands quickly. There were a lot
- 2:06Speaker 2: of timing base routes that were moving the chains with
- 2:08Speaker 2: Aj Brown and Davonte Smith. AJ Brown had five catches
- 2:12Speaker 2: for forty three yards. Davonte Smith had one hundred and
- 2:15Speaker 2: fourteen yards receiving. They combined for eighteen targets thirteen catches
- 2:21Speaker 2: one hundred and fifty seven yards. But early on in
- 2:24Speaker 2: that game. They got things going with Dallas Goddard. I
- 2:27Speaker 2: mentioned Grant Calcutta with a couple of receptions. AJ and Davante,
- 2:30Speaker 2: especially Davonte Smith was having a lot of success moving
- 2:33Speaker 2: the change chains and finding the saw spots in the zone.
- 2:37Speaker 2: And sa Quon Barkley had a season long run of
- 2:41Speaker 2: seventeen yards. But that was pretty much it in terms
- 2:43Speaker 2: of the ground attack. But I thought early on Kevin
- 2:47Speaker 2: Patulo had a good feel for the game, and then
- 2:50Speaker 2: you saw things start the spiral coming out of the break,
- 2:54Speaker 2: and specifically when you look at the Eagles had a
- 2:59Speaker 2: seventeen to three lead and they gave up eighteen unanswered
- 3:04Speaker 2: points and bow knicks in the fourth quarter went nine
- 3:08Speaker 2: of ten for one hundred and twenty seven yards and
- 3:11Speaker 2: a touchdown. But let's kind of recap that final drive
- 3:15Speaker 2: that was ultimately the game winning drive for the Broncos.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Late in the fourth quarter, JK.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Dobbins, the Broncos running back scores and makes it seventeen
- 3:27Speaker 2: to ten, and there was a lot of uneasiness in
- 3:29Speaker 2: Lincoln Financial Field. The stadium was pretty quiet and you
- 3:33Speaker 2: got the sense of, okay, well, it's time for the
- 3:36Speaker 2: offense to get reveed up what happened to the offense
- 3:38Speaker 2: in the first half, and that offense never came back
- 3:41Speaker 2: to life. So let's look at it, because that final
- 3:47Speaker 2: drive was I thought a masterclass six plays seventy two
- 3:52Speaker 2: yards for the Denver Broncos.
- 3:53Speaker 1: I thought bow Knicks was in full command of that.
- 3:56Speaker 2: They were down seventeen to ten in the fourth quarter,
- 3:59Speaker 2: and they covered seven minutes and thirty six seconds and
- 4:03Speaker 2: it culminated in an eleven yard connection over the.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Middle to tight end Evan Ingram.
- 4:07Speaker 2: And rather than not the score with the extra point
- 4:10Speaker 2: and nodded at seventeen, Broncos head coach Sean Payton elected
- 4:16Speaker 2: to attempt a two point conversion, which proved to be
- 4:19Speaker 2: successful as bo Nick's hit wide receiver Troy Franklin with
- 4:23Speaker 2: a wide throw inside the right pylon to put them
- 4:26Speaker 2: ahead eighteen to seventeen. Franklin created enough room to comfortably
- 4:31Speaker 2: pull away from cornerback Keathy Ringo in that confined space,
- 4:34Speaker 2: and then later on Will Lutz, their kicker, kicked a
- 4:37Speaker 2: thirty six yard field goal with a minute and eleven
- 4:40Speaker 2: seconds left to play that created the breathing room that
- 4:43Speaker 2: was necessary. The Eagles get the ball late in that
- 4:46Speaker 2: game and they're looking to make a drive down the field.
- 4:49Speaker 2: Johan Dotson has a twenty four yard reception that sort
- 4:52Speaker 2: of kickstarts things. And then you look at they attempt
- 4:57Speaker 2: a deep shot to Dallas Goddard a lot on the
- 5:00Speaker 2: right sideline. It's a little short, it's short of the
- 5:02Speaker 2: end zone, but there was an obvious hold there and
- 5:06Speaker 2: that's something that you have to call. There's a lot
- 5:08Speaker 2: of inconsistencies here. And I'm never one to look at
- 5:12Speaker 2: the look at the refs as the reason why a
- 5:13Speaker 2: team wins or loses. That's not how I operate. But
- 5:16Speaker 2: that was pretty egregious. It would have been a holding call,
- 5:20Speaker 2: and Dallas Goddard spoke a lot about that, you know,
- 5:23Speaker 2: after the game, but I think it's I thought that
- 5:28Speaker 2: was notable, and then the Hail Mary attempt was you know,
- 5:31Speaker 2: it wasn't to be. But let's let's get to the
- 5:35Speaker 2: the Dallas godd Or play in question here, because there
- 5:39Speaker 2: was that.
- 5:40Speaker 1: It was the second to last play of the game.
- 5:42Speaker 2: And this is a from a pool report with Eagles
- 5:46Speaker 2: beat reporter Zach Berman who asked referee Adrian Hill about
- 5:51Speaker 2: the play, and so the question was the second to
- 5:55Speaker 2: last play the game of pass the Dallas godd or
- 5:57Speaker 2: why did that not rise to the level of a interference?
- 6:01Speaker 2: Hill said, so the officials saw mutual hand fighting and
- 6:05Speaker 2: hand to hand combat and did not see action that
- 6:07Speaker 2: rose to the level of a foul on the play.
- 6:12Speaker 2: I mean, there was a little bit of hand fighting,
- 6:14Speaker 2: but usually you let that play. I mean, Dallas got
- 6:18Speaker 2: it was working back to the football. It was something
- 6:21Speaker 2: that would have brought the Eagles much closer and then
- 6:23Speaker 2: all of a sudden you're talking about a potentially different outcome.
- 6:26Speaker 2: But the point of the matter is it shouldn't have
- 6:28Speaker 2: gotten to that point. There were moments in that game
- 6:30Speaker 2: that the Eagles had to break that game wide open.
- 6:33Speaker 2: When they were up seventeen to three, there was a
- 6:36Speaker 2: pass that Jay when Hurt soared down the field to
- 6:41Speaker 2: AJ Brown who was open on the play, but it
- 6:45Speaker 2: looked like Aj almost stopped running or there was a misconnection,
- 6:50Speaker 2: miscommunication of sorts. And after the game, Aj said, I
- 6:53Speaker 2: didn't think the ball was coming. When I looked up,
- 6:56Speaker 2: I didn't see the ball. When I look back, I
- 6:58Speaker 2: didn't see the ball, And then the ball was he said,
- 7:01Speaker 2: we just missed.
- 7:03Speaker 1: Obviously, not what you want to hear. And when asked
- 7:05Speaker 1: did you talk.
- 7:06Speaker 2: To Jay Went about the miscommunication after play, he said no,
- 7:09Speaker 2: but he didn't feel like there was a disjointed natures
- 7:13Speaker 2: of the passing game, whereas you know. Conversely, DeVante Smith
- 7:16Speaker 2: after the game mentioned that they need to get on
- 7:18Speaker 2: the same page, probably with some hand signals and things
- 7:21Speaker 2: like that that maybe he was alluding to.
- 7:24Speaker 1: But I mean, there's no doubt about it that they
- 7:26Speaker 1: need to have more balance, more.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Cohesiveness, and it seems like a lot of their shortcomings,
- 7:32Speaker 2: a lot of those blemishes came to light. And it
- 7:34Speaker 2: doesn't get you until it gets you, and it got
- 7:36Speaker 2: the Eagles in this game. But the lack of balance
- 7:41Speaker 2: run and pass, and for a team that is foundationally
- 7:44Speaker 2: built on running the football to get away from it
- 7:47Speaker 2: to that extent, I think sort of had things at
- 7:51Speaker 2: a tailspin. I think that's fair to say. But let's
- 7:56Speaker 2: get to what Nick Sirianni had to say about the
- 7:59Speaker 2: getting away from the run in the second half. He said, well,
- 8:02Speaker 2: I have to go back and watch a lot of
- 8:03Speaker 2: this stuff. There were a couple of scenarios right there
- 8:06Speaker 2: where we got a little bit behind the sticks. I know,
- 8:08Speaker 2: the plays, whether it was a hold or a false start,
- 8:11Speaker 2: got behind the sticks there. Those are some self inflicted
- 8:14Speaker 2: things that we did. When those happen, I'm always putting
- 8:18Speaker 2: that on myself. When we don't master the things that
- 8:21Speaker 2: require no talent, that's something that always that's always going
- 8:25Speaker 2: to be on me because that's something that we talk
- 8:27Speaker 2: about an awful lot and we have to drive that
- 8:30Speaker 2: home and I have to drive that home.
- 8:32Speaker 1: So that's on me.
- 8:34Speaker 2: So there was his answer there, and then he talked
- 8:36Speaker 2: about do you notice a difference this year and how
- 8:40Speaker 2: long it's taking the play the play call to get
- 8:43Speaker 2: to quarterback Jay when hurts versus other years, And the
- 8:46Speaker 2: question also adds I know offensive coordinator Kevin Battullo is
- 8:49Speaker 2: a new coordinator. Did you notice a difference there. Nick
- 8:53Speaker 2: Sirianni said no, no, Again, there's so many things that
- 8:56Speaker 2: go into that. Obviously we had that one. There was
- 8:59Speaker 2: a huge on fourth down where we got up and
- 9:02Speaker 2: kind of snapped it on one.
- 9:04Speaker 1: A lot of things that go into that.
- 9:05Speaker 2: Again, we're doing everything we can do to find solutions,
- 9:08Speaker 2: not a sign blame, and we're a team, we're together,
- 9:12Speaker 2: so it's always going to be an us thing, and
- 9:15Speaker 2: then Cooper de Gene after the game sort of mentioned
- 9:18Speaker 2: that maybe they needed a loss because you know that
- 9:22Speaker 2: they've gotten away from some things and almost like that
- 9:25Speaker 2: allows you to refocus.
- 9:27Speaker 1: And get back to those details.
- 9:28Speaker 2: Details was a word that was commonly used in the
- 9:33Speaker 2: postgame locker room, and really throughout the season you hear
- 9:36Speaker 2: a lot of players talk about the little details and
- 9:40Speaker 2: the attention to detail and Nick Sirianni mastering the things
- 9:43Speaker 2: that required no talent. That comes down to discipline. The
- 9:47Speaker 2: Eagles were tacked with nine penalties for fifty five yards.
- 9:50Speaker 2: Now against the Buccaneers they had eight for eighty three.
- 9:55Speaker 2: So this is something that continues to persist. And for
- 9:58Speaker 2: a team that does focus on the detail and they
- 10:00Speaker 2: do focus on discipline.
- 10:03Speaker 1: There's a lack of execution there.
- 10:05Speaker 2: There's a lack of awareness, situational awareness and discipline. I
- 10:10Speaker 2: would say, because it's not just one week, these are
- 10:13Speaker 2: things that are persisting.
- 10:15Speaker 3: Hey, fall is planting season. Did you know that many

- 13:40Speaker 3: Cam din Apothecary top quality cannabis, great prices, and an
- 13:44Speaker 3: experience made for Philly fans twenty one and up.
- 13:47Speaker 2: But what I would also say is that there are
- 13:50Speaker 2: twenty one penalties called in that game. The Broncos got
- 13:53Speaker 2: tacked for ten. So it was a closely officiated game.
- 13:57Speaker 2: And when you see that that's the way that they
- 14:00Speaker 2: are playing out, you have to make sure that you're
- 14:02Speaker 2: honing in on those fundamentals and on those details and
- 14:05Speaker 2: not allowing any sort of blunder to throw a wrench
- 14:10Speaker 2: into your plans or alter the course of a game.
- 14:13Speaker 2: And that's something that I think the Eagles, when you
- 14:15Speaker 2: talk about self inflicted wounds, they certainly fell victim to
- 14:18Speaker 2: that this afternoon Sunday afternoon against the Denver Broncos.
- 14:22Speaker 1: The Broncos were really aggressive.
- 14:25Speaker 2: They blitzed Jalen Hurts and the Eagles offensive line an
- 14:28Speaker 2: awful lot. Six sacks in that game, two and a
- 14:31Speaker 2: half from Nick Benito, a phenomenal edge rusher that they
- 14:34Speaker 2: have that.
- 14:35Speaker 1: Is probably going to be more of a household name now.
- 14:37Speaker 1: He deserves to be.
- 14:38Speaker 2: He's been really effective and they weren't really I think
- 14:42Speaker 2: what they do really well, and Jeff Mosher mentioned this
- 14:45Speaker 2: on the Inside the Birds pregame show and postgame show.
- 14:49Speaker 2: They do a nice job of when they rush the quarterback,
- 14:51Speaker 2: they contain they almost do it in a circular motion
- 14:54Speaker 2: instead of getting north and south in upfield which you
- 14:56Speaker 2: saw the Cowboys do in Week one, and it doesn't
- 15:00Speaker 2: really give Jalen Hurts those running lanes and he can't
- 15:03Speaker 2: lean on that escapability when things are breaking down. So
- 15:07Speaker 2: I tip my hat to the Brett Broncos defense was
- 15:10Speaker 2: as advertised.
- 15:12Speaker 1: They hung in there. They continue to get better as
- 15:14Speaker 1: the game went on.
- 15:15Speaker 2: I thought, whereas the Eagles defense, you also have to
- 15:18Speaker 2: tip your hat to them because for a while they
- 15:22Speaker 2: held the Broncos to just three points, and later in
- 15:25Speaker 2: that game you can clearly see that they were gassed
- 15:27Speaker 2: and they gave up some.
- 15:29Speaker 1: Plays later in that game.
- 15:31Speaker 2: But it's I think it's unrealistic and unfair to expect
- 15:34Speaker 2: the defense to be able to continuously bail the offense
- 15:38Speaker 2: out when they're not. They're not able to hold up
- 15:40Speaker 2: their end of the bargain, and eventually that proverbial dam
- 15:43Speaker 2: will break. And you saw that it's not fair to
- 15:46Speaker 2: ask the defense to continue to uphold that level of
- 15:50Speaker 2: play throughout the game while the offense continues to sputter
- 15:53Speaker 2: and these things are going to continue to happen. I mean,
- 15:55Speaker 2: the defense is human, and I thought bo Nicks and
- 15:58Speaker 2: the offense figured it out later in that game. They
- 16:02Speaker 2: stayed patient, they stayed committed to the run, and you
- 16:04Speaker 2: saw things start to shake free there. And I thought
- 16:08Speaker 2: in the end of that game, he was surgical bow
- 16:10Speaker 2: Knicks and getting the ball out Courtland Sutton made some
- 16:14Speaker 2: really impressive contested catches in that game, despite tight covers
- 16:17Speaker 2: from Quinnon, Mitchell, Marvin Mims had some play.
- 16:21Speaker 1: Evan Ingram scored the game winning touchdown in that game.
- 16:24Speaker 2: It was a collective effort on that side of the ball,
- 16:26Speaker 2: and instead of them sort of, you know, fizzling out,
- 16:30Speaker 2: they were building momentum in that second half. And I
- 16:34Speaker 2: think that you see the stark contrast in what the
- 16:36Speaker 2: Eagles have done offensively to what the Broncos have done.
- 16:40Speaker 2: I was impressed with Sean Payton's play calling in this
- 16:42Speaker 2: and that's I've lauded in the past Sean Payton for
- 16:45Speaker 2: his play calling and the design. Early in that game,
- 16:49Speaker 2: it looked like bow Knicks was skittish in the pocket.
- 16:51Speaker 2: He had happy feet, and he was not standing in
- 16:54Speaker 2: there and delivering the football with with with accuracy. It
- 16:59Speaker 2: seemed like he was, you know, anticipating a lot of
- 17:02Speaker 2: pressure around him. But then later on he started to
- 17:05Speaker 2: settle into the game. Now, the Eagles got their first
- 17:08Speaker 2: full sack from one of their edge rushers, a Darius
- 17:10Speaker 2: Smith got in there for a sack early in that one.
- 17:13Speaker 2: Zach Bond collected a sack, but by and large, there
- 17:16Speaker 2: was not a lot of pressure generated from the Philadelphia Eagles,
- 17:19Speaker 2: and that's something that has also been a common theme.
- 17:23Speaker 2: So there's a lot to unpack from this game. So,
- 17:28Speaker 2: I mean, I look at it as a whole, and
- 17:30Speaker 2: there's a lot of process. That's the thing about looking
- 17:32Speaker 2: at looking at a game hours after it happened, because
- 17:35Speaker 2: you're still trying to piece together what happened.
- 17:39Speaker 1: So there's a lot of elements here.
- 17:41Speaker 2: Let's look at special teams because they had a new
- 17:43Speaker 2: operation with new long snapper cal Etemitis, and by and
- 17:47Speaker 2: large that was a pretty effective operation with Braden Mann.
- 17:52Speaker 1: And Jake Elliott.
- 17:54Speaker 2: But the not so good the punt returns from Johan
- 17:57Speaker 2: Dotson and Johan Dotson, Yes, he had the fifteen yard return,
- 18:02Speaker 2: but there were some decisions in that game, whether it
- 18:05Speaker 2: be situational awareness or field awareness that I thought that
- 18:09Speaker 2: it would have served him well to let the ball bounce,
- 18:12Speaker 2: maybe get a touchback. And you look at Xavier Gibson,
- 18:17Speaker 2: who was a player that the Eagles claimed off waivers
- 18:22Speaker 2: from the Giants. He has a very decorated return return history,
- 18:28Speaker 2: and that presumably was the allure.
- 18:32Speaker 1: Of bringing him onto the roster.
- 18:33Speaker 2: Now he's been in active the first two weeks he's
- 18:36Speaker 2: been here, and you have to wonder if he's not
- 18:40Speaker 2: going to be active now and help the return game.
- 18:43Speaker 2: When you're not getting a lot out of your punt
- 18:45Speaker 2: return and your kick return game. We'll get to that
- 18:47Speaker 2: in a minute, is kind of uninspiring. I think is
- 18:52Speaker 2: fair to say, well, then why is he here?
- 18:56Speaker 1: Right?
- 18:56Speaker 2: I mean, you look at in a couple of weeks,
- 18:58Speaker 2: Darius Cooper should be recovered from the shoulder injury.
- 19:02Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 19:03Speaker 2: It's just one of those little things that I look at.
- 19:04Speaker 2: When I was going through the inactive list, and Drew Kendall,
- 19:09Speaker 2: the Eagle center guard, he was an active. He's been
- 19:11Speaker 2: an active for every game this season. Sam Howe was
- 19:14Speaker 2: the emergency third quarterback and Mac McWilliams the rookie cornerback.
- 19:19Speaker 2: My rookie diary subject was inactive for the first time
- 19:22Speaker 2: this season. But the kick return game, which I alluded to,
- 19:27Speaker 2: leaves a lot to be desired, and there was a
- 19:30Speaker 2: moment I think it was the first return in this
- 19:32Speaker 2: game where it looked like there was a miscommunication with
- 19:35Speaker 2: Tank Bigsby and will Shipley. They both ran to the
- 19:37Speaker 2: same spot to field the kick. Bigsby ultimately fielded the
- 19:41Speaker 2: kick returned at eighteen yards. But Tank Bigsby was brought
- 19:45Speaker 2: here largely to provide a spark to the return game.
- 19:50Speaker 2: That was a big draw, a big allure with bringing
- 19:54Speaker 2: him here, and he really hasn't really made his mark.
- 19:58Speaker 2: But today what I noticed, and I should point out
- 20:01Speaker 2: that last week Mac McWilliams was a gunner opposite Sidney
- 20:05Speaker 2: Brown because keithy Ringo's starting on defense, so they're trying
- 20:09Speaker 2: to reduce some of his special teams work.
- 20:12Speaker 1: I didn't think Mac did.
- 20:13Speaker 2: Particularly well as a gunner on some reps that I
- 20:15Speaker 2: was able to really hone in on. There was one
- 20:18Speaker 2: where I thought the vice players from the Buccaneers did
- 20:21Speaker 2: a nice job in holding him up to the point
- 20:24Speaker 2: where he didn't really disengage.
- 20:25Speaker 1: And he's a smaller guy and it's never played gunner before.
- 20:28Speaker 2: We outlined that on this week's Rookie Diary, but this
- 20:31Speaker 2: week they had Tank Bigsby playing gunner, and I thought
- 20:35Speaker 2: he got really good releases off the line, b lined
- 20:38Speaker 2: it down the field, took really strong angles to the
- 20:40Speaker 2: ball carrier. Had a nice tackle on one of the
- 20:44Speaker 2: punt returns. Cam Latu continues to light it up on
- 20:47Speaker 2: special teams. He had a nice tackle, a huge tackle
- 20:50Speaker 2: late in that game when it looked like Marvin Mims
- 20:52Speaker 2: had open.
- 20:53Speaker 1: Field to rome.
- 20:56Speaker 2: But you know, those are certain details that I like
- 20:59Speaker 2: to fixate on this game. The Eagles also had active
- 21:02Speaker 2: for the first time this season, Aziz Ojilari, the former
- 21:07Speaker 2: New York Giant, and there was a lot of intrigue
- 21:10Speaker 2: when the Eagles signed him to a one year deal
- 21:12Speaker 2: in free agency.
- 21:14Speaker 1: He was active out of necessity.
- 21:16Speaker 2: The Eagles are light on numbers Nolan Smith on injured reserve,
- 21:19Speaker 2: Obo Okoronkua on injured reserve, so they needed to He
- 21:23Speaker 2: was the next man up. They needed him in this one,
- 21:24Speaker 2: and he had a quarterback hit. He had a tackle
- 21:27Speaker 2: for loss, three tackles total. Provided some juice and now
- 21:31Speaker 2: this week he gets to face his former team in
- 21:34Speaker 2: the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium. I'm curious to
- 21:37Speaker 2: see if he's able to build off of that a
- 21:39Speaker 2: little bit, because the pass rush needs a spark. Zadarius
- 21:43Speaker 2: Smith got the sack today, the first full sack. As
- 21:47Speaker 2: I mentioned, I wrote a story about the Eagles pass
- 21:50Speaker 2: rush and his role in that and the perspective and
- 21:53Speaker 2: experience that he provides and how he can impart wisdom
- 21:56Speaker 2: on some of those younger players. But that's another part
- 21:59Speaker 2: of the defense that I think can take it to
- 22:01Speaker 2: another level if they're able to fully unlock it. But
- 22:04Speaker 2: the offense needs to be able to hold up their
- 22:07Speaker 2: end and play complimentary football because and I'm going to
- 22:10Speaker 2: reiterate this, it's unfair and unrealistic to expect the defense
- 22:15Speaker 2: that look gass in the fourth quarter and they always
- 22:17Speaker 2: allowed three points for much of that game, to expect
- 22:21Speaker 2: them to be able to play lights out for the
- 22:24Speaker 2: entirety of the game. There's going to be some lulls
- 22:27Speaker 2: here and there, but that's where this prolific offense, this
- 22:29Speaker 2: star studded offense, needs to be able to get it
- 22:32Speaker 2: dialed in and help them out a little bit. And
- 22:35Speaker 2: the proverbial dam broke, and you saw what bo Nicks
- 22:39Speaker 2: and the Denver Broncos were able to do. I thought
- 22:41Speaker 2: Sean Payton called a really good game. I always respected
- 22:45Speaker 2: his offensive prowess, and it was just sort of one
- 22:48Speaker 2: of those games where these small details got the Eagles
- 22:53Speaker 2: in the end, and they've gotten away with some of
- 22:56Speaker 2: those things. Earlier in the season they were living on
- 22:58Speaker 2: the edge, not in this one. They weren't able to
- 23:01Speaker 2: overcome that in this game. But every loss, every game
- 23:05Speaker 2: really is a learning opportunity. And I think the best
- 23:08Speaker 2: thing for the Eagles is that they have a shortened week.
- 23:12Speaker 1: It'll be an abbreviated week for me to coverage as well.
- 23:15Speaker 2: If I had a guess, Tuesday would be the day
- 23:17Speaker 2: where we'll have access to the coordinators and the locker room.
- 23:21Speaker 1: But they're able to flush this one move on to
- 23:23Speaker 1: the Giants.
- 23:24Speaker 2: It could be a good get right spot for this
- 23:26Speaker 2: offense and maybe you can build off of that at
- 23:30Speaker 2: MetLife Stadium and I will have all the news and
- 23:32Speaker 2: notes from this coming week, and we will on Inside
- 23:37Speaker 2: the Birds and on the Inside the Birds podcast platforms
- 23:40Speaker 2: and inside the Birds dot Com and of course right
- 23:43Speaker 2: here on to check O Deli. This has been to
- 23:47Speaker 2: Checho Delhi. I am Andrew de Checo, and I will
- 23:49Speaker 2: catch you on the next one,
