- 0:36Speaker 1: Rum diddlyumptious.
- 0:38Speaker 3: Speaking of which, g'day Mogi, you stallion. How's life?
- 0:41Speaker 1: Yeah, pretty grassy, you mad dog, you sick son of
- 0:44Speaker 1: a bee. What a bloody beautiful day it is.
- 0:46Speaker 3: Unbelievable.
- 0:47Speaker 1: You know what? It was so sunny today that I
- 0:49Speaker 1: was almost tempted to put some shorts on with some
- 0:52Speaker 1: sneakers and some socks and pull them up to my knees.
- 0:54Speaker 3: Yeah, you would have looked so good.
- 0:56Speaker 1: I was so close to putting on my summer gab today, brother,
- 0:59Speaker 1: but I've resisted. I'm going to hold off for another
- 1:01Speaker 1: couple of months, I reckon. How are you going, Keezy?
- 1:02Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm good as gold, fellas. I'll tell you what,
- 1:05Speaker 5: it's so nice today. I was almost tempted to be like, hey,
- 1:07Speaker 5: I think spring might have sprung.
- 1:10Speaker 1: I think you might be right. Really? Totally, man.
- 1:12Speaker 7: Totally.
- 1:12Speaker 5: I just had a vibe, like, because I know that
- 1:14Speaker 5: we've been sort of discussing whether I had sprung or not.
- 1:16Speaker 6: Yes.
- 1:16Speaker 1: I was like, I think today might be the day.
- 1:17Speaker 3: Do you know how I know?
- 1:19Speaker 1: How? I think about drinking all day. Yes.
- 1:21Speaker 6: Yes.
- 1:22Speaker 3: I was the same today, fellas.
- 1:24Speaker 4: I was like, jeez, Louise, I might have to put
- 1:27Speaker 4: a bird shirt on today.
- 1:30Speaker 1: Oh, because in summer you always wear them.
- 1:31Speaker 3: You always wear bird shits.
- 1:33Speaker 4: And as I said in the podcast outro, the disclaimer there,
- 1:36Speaker 4: I was walking around this morning with my wife after
- 1:39Speaker 4: a coffee. People were drinking in bars all over the shop.
- 1:42Speaker 3: 10.30 in the bloody morning. What's that about?
- 1:46Speaker 1: Sounds like backbone shit to me.
- 1:48Speaker 3: Yeah, sounded bloody good to me. Looked really good too.
- 1:50Speaker 3: But it's the weather. It's triggering. It's very, very triggering. Hey, Mogi...
- 1:56Speaker 3: What's coming up?
- 1:59Speaker 1: What's happening on The Big Show? One of the greatest
- 2:06Speaker 1: things of all time.
- 2:07Speaker 3: I love it.
- 2:08Speaker 1: I'm never going to get used to it. A bloody
- 2:10Speaker 1: exciting time in our lives, Jase. Keezy, well, Muggy and Jase,
- 2:16Speaker 1: we're going to give suggestions to Keezy about where you
- 2:17Speaker 1: should buy a house, apparently.
- 2:19Speaker 3: Well, I've sold.
- 2:20Speaker 1: In fact, I move out of my house next week.
- 2:22Speaker 6: Yes.
- 2:22Speaker 4: Yes.
- 2:23Speaker 5: And I don't have anywhere to live, and I've got
- 2:24Speaker 5: to buy somewhere.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Yeah, totally. So you've got suggestions. I've got a few ideas.
- 2:28Speaker 1: I've got a few ideas. Keezy as well. I can't
- 2:30Speaker 1: believe it, but you've been back for Japan for an
- 2:32Speaker 1: eye on a couple of weeks now, and at no
- 2:34Speaker 1: point have we had a discussion about the cuisine that
- 2:37Speaker 1: you experienced over there, because you're a famous fish hater.
- 2:40Speaker 1: I hate fish. And they've got a real fish-based diet,
- 2:42Speaker 1: so we're going to get into that a bit. There'll
- 2:43Speaker 1: be another opportunity with the ITM trade-off to trade in
- 2:47Speaker 1: your tool. Listen out for the cue to call. Give
- 2:49Speaker 1: us a ring on 0800HORAKI, and you could be in
- 2:51Speaker 1: to win a ripper. And next up, I've been betrayed
- 2:54Speaker 1: by my wife, fellas.
- 2:55Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, man.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Some would say the ultimate betrayal. The ultimate betrayal. Oh,
- 2:59Speaker 1: my God.
- 2:59Speaker 3: Sad to hear it, man. Let your mind run free.
- 3:01Speaker 3: Sad to hear it, hey. Shall we have a tune?
- 3:03Speaker 1: Shall we?
- 3:04Speaker 3: Bit of Foo Fighters here.
- 3:06Speaker 2: The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 3:09Speaker 4: Primal screen there on the Hauraki Big Show this Thursday afternoon.
- 3:14Speaker 4: The time is 12 minutes past 4 o'clock.
- 3:16Speaker 1: Fellas, I've been betrayed by my wife. Oh, no. The
- 3:19Speaker 1: ultimate betrayal, can I say that? Oh, so... I don't
- 3:24Speaker 1: need to go into details in that way, Keezy. We'll
- 3:26Speaker 1: get to it. But let me just say it's the
- 3:27Speaker 1: ultimate betrayal. Now, while you're away, I started watching the season. Well,
- 3:32Speaker 1: my wife and I started watching the show East of Eden.
- 3:35Speaker 1: We got through one episode, and then the next day
- 3:37Speaker 1: she went away for two weeks with our daughter on
- 3:40Speaker 1: a holiday, left me again. And I said, look, I'm sorry.
- 3:44Speaker 1: This show is so good. I'm going to have to
- 3:45Speaker 1: watch it on my own. And she said, fair enough.
- 3:48Speaker 1: I'll be doing the same. and so I watched three episodes.
- 3:52Speaker 1: I was four down, and my wife was four episodes down.
- 3:56Speaker 1: We should have stayed with her grandmother, and then I
- 3:58Speaker 1: rang her, and I said, you know what? I'm not
- 3:59Speaker 1: going to watch anymore. I'm going to save the last
- 4:01Speaker 1: three episodes to watch with you because it's too good.
- 4:03Speaker 4: Yes.
- 4:03Speaker 1: I want to be able to talk about it with
- 4:05Speaker 1: you and digest it and process it with you because
- 4:08Speaker 1: it is honestly one of the best shows I have
- 4:10Speaker 1: seen in years, and she said, I agree because I
- 4:13Speaker 1: want to talk about it with you, so how good.
- 4:15Speaker 1: That's great stuff, so In the time that you were away,
- 4:17Speaker 1: Pug's son was watching the show. So we wanted to
- 4:20Speaker 1: talk about it every day. I was like, I can't.
- 4:22Speaker 1: I'm holding off for the missus. I'll be able to
- 4:24Speaker 1: talk about it in a couple of weeks there. And
- 4:26Speaker 1: then last night, or yesterday afternoon, I said to the wife, look,
- 4:29Speaker 1: we've got to finish off this show because Jase is
- 4:31Speaker 1: keen to talk about it. Pug's is keen to talk
- 4:33Speaker 1: about it. She said, oh, yeah, absolutely. Well, maybe tonight
- 4:36Speaker 1: we'll watch. I said, yeah, good. And then she said,
- 4:37Speaker 1: but I have got work to do. Right. I've got
- 4:40Speaker 1: quite a bit of work on, but we'll see how
- 4:41Speaker 1: we go. Get home. I said, we all good? She said, yes,
- 4:44Speaker 1: we're all good. Then I sit up on the couch.
- 4:46Speaker 1: I'm lying down on the couch. Then she comes in.
- 4:47Speaker 1: She says, are you sure you want to watch this?
- 4:50Speaker 1: You're not just going to fall asleep because you look exhausted.
- 4:53Speaker 1: You look tired. Because of old Tui Tui Moi Moi,
- 4:56Speaker 1: you see. He's been keeping me up, that bastard.
- 4:58Speaker 3: Yes.
- 4:58Speaker 1: She's well aware of that. I said, no, no, I'll
- 5:00Speaker 1: be good as gold. So we put it on. I
- 5:02Speaker 1: get in about 20 minutes in. You know, there's just
- 5:05Speaker 1: some things that add up. Your brain's ticking over. You're
- 5:08Speaker 1: not even conscious of it. I just paused the TV,
- 5:10Speaker 1: and I turned to her. I said, have you already
- 5:12Speaker 1: effing watched this? Yeah. And she just started laughing in
- 5:17Speaker 1: my face. Oh, wow. So she, while she was down
- 5:20Speaker 1: staying with her grandmother, had watched the entire show, pretended
- 5:24Speaker 1: that she hadn't watched it, left me to think that
- 5:27Speaker 1: we were going to watch it together as our special showcase.
- 5:29Speaker 1: You have special shows as a partnership, don't you? Yeah,
- 5:32Speaker 1: you do. And then she's just made me look a
- 5:34Speaker 1: fool and she's trying to dissuade me from watching it
- 5:36Speaker 1: with her. The love of my life, might I say.
- 5:39Speaker 1: At what point? Wow. Well, first, can I start by saying.
- 5:43Speaker 2: Wow.
- 5:46Speaker 5: Can I start by saying I don't think that's the
- 5:47Speaker 5: ultimate portrayal?
- 5:49Speaker 1: I thought she'd... I knew you'd get it, Keezy. It's shocking,
- 5:52Speaker 1: isn't it? It's worse than the ultimate. Yeah. Yeah, that's
- 5:55Speaker 1: what I'm getting at.
- 5:56Speaker 4: And your intuition must have just been... Hanging all over
- 6:01Speaker 4: the place. My spidey senses were going off.
- 6:03Speaker 7: Yes.
- 6:03Speaker 1: Bing, bing, bing, bing. Hang on a minute. So at
- 6:05Speaker 1: what point... Hang on a minute. Okay, go ahead.
- 6:10Speaker 3: So she had that knowledge all that time.
- 6:13Speaker 1: Yeah. Is that called carnal knowledge? Hang on, hang on,
- 6:16Speaker 1: hang on. But at what point.
- 6:18Speaker 5: Did she, like, was it when you called her and
- 6:21Speaker 5: you were both four episodes deep and you said, hang on,
- 6:23Speaker 5: I'm going to wait.
- 6:24Speaker 1: Yes. And she said, that's a great idea, I will too.
- 6:25Speaker 5: Yes.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Do you reckon she had already seen all of it? No,
- 6:28Speaker 1: it was from that point on.
- 6:29Speaker 5: So after that phone call, she then betrayed you.
- 6:31Speaker 1: That's when the first betrayal happened. Wow. Because the thing
- 6:35Speaker 1: about it was, it was a series of betrayals. Episode five,
- 6:37Speaker 1: episode six, episode seven.
- 6:39Speaker 8: Yes.
- 6:40Speaker 1: And then it's the not telling me, the withholding of
- 6:42Speaker 1: the truth. I consider that a lie as well.
- 6:43Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 6:45Speaker 4: Look- And this seems massively minor in comparison. And I've
- 6:50Speaker 4: talked to you guys about this, about my wife's betrayal
- 6:52Speaker 4: in that sense.
- 6:54Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. Not disclosing the truth to me. And I'm talking.
- 6:58Speaker 4: 26 years later.
- 7:00Speaker 1: Yes.
- 7:01Speaker 4: When she told me, can you not overheat the milk
- 7:04Speaker 4: when you make me a coffee? Oh, I know.
- 7:05Speaker 3: Because I always find you make it too hot.
- 7:07Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:08Speaker 4: 26 years she'd been hiding that from me, Keezy.
- 7:12Speaker 3: 26 years.
- 7:13Speaker 1: Is that the ultimate betrayal?
- 7:14Speaker 3: Well, I think it's up there, but mogies.
- 7:17Speaker 1: Right.
- 7:19Speaker 3: I'm very fond of mogies, partner. She's a lovely human being,
- 7:22Speaker 3: but jeez, I am.
- 7:24Speaker 1: Wow.
- 7:25Speaker 3: Wow.
- 7:26Speaker 5: So just quickly- Weird is sort of having an affair
- 7:29Speaker 5: set in terms... I thought that was the ultimate betrayal.
- 7:31Speaker 1: I mean, affairs are a dime a dozen, Keezy. Affairs
- 7:35Speaker 1: may come, affairs may go, but East of Eden... That's
- 7:39Speaker 1: a one-off. Yeah, yeah.
- 7:40Speaker 4: And we're talking episode after episode after episode of betrayal.
- 7:46Speaker 1: 100%.
- 7:47Speaker 5: Look, what we want to know on 3483, text us.
- 7:50Speaker 5: How has your partner betrayed you? Or have you ever
- 7:53Speaker 5: betrayed your partner? 3-4-8-3, every text in the drawer for
- 7:56Speaker 5: 50 bucks.
- 7:56Speaker 1: Reburger.
- 7:57Speaker 3: Here's Muse.
- 8:01Speaker 2: The Hodaki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune
- 8:04Speaker 2: in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hodaki.
- 8:07Speaker 4: Chemical Brothers there on the Radio Hodaki Big Show this
- 8:10Speaker 4: Thursday afternoon. The time is 4.24 and it's a very
- 8:14Speaker 4: sombre mood in the Hodaki studios today. Mogi's wife, the
- 8:20Speaker 4: ultimate betrayal, really. And can I just say... that I
- 8:28Speaker 4: appreciate your honesty because I know probably a lot of
- 8:32Speaker 4: people out there have gone through this, Mogi.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Thank you very much, and that's exactly right, Joe. So
- 8:36Speaker 1: I knew if I spoke up, there'd be other people
- 8:39Speaker 1: out there thinking to themselves they'd be backbone in a way.
- 8:42Speaker 1: They're working on a car, building a house or whatever.
- 8:44Speaker 1: They'd hear this come across the radio and they'd look
- 8:46Speaker 1: up at the radio there and they'd say to themselves,
- 8:48Speaker 1: that's happened to me.
- 8:49Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 8:50Speaker 1: And what's happened to me is my wife and I
- 8:52Speaker 1: agreed that we would watch the television show East of
- 8:54Speaker 1: Eden together. But then in my absence, she watched the
- 8:57Speaker 1: whole show, pretended she hadn't. Yeah. Shocking.
- 9:02Speaker 4: What for you is the most painful aspect? Is it
- 9:06Speaker 4: the fact that she watched it without you or was.
- 9:08Speaker 3: It the lies, Mogi?
- 9:09Speaker 1: Honestly, man, it's the lies.
- 9:11Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 9:11Speaker 1: Which surprises me. It's the lies that hurt the most
- 9:14Speaker 1: because there's been so many of them. Keezy, it's lie
- 9:18Speaker 1: upon lie upon lie. And that is the thing, because
- 9:21Speaker 1: I thought that this house was built on trust. Yes.
- 9:24Speaker 1: I thought it was built on the rock of trust,
- 9:26Speaker 1: but instead it's been built on the sand of lies
- 9:28Speaker 1: and deception. No, no. And now we sink ever deeper, Keezy. No,
- 9:33Speaker 1: I get it.
- 9:34Speaker 5: And, I mean, she's got a bit of a reputation
- 9:35Speaker 5: for being a bit of a liar anyway, though.
- 9:37Speaker 1: Well, I didn't think she had, but I'm glad that
- 9:39Speaker 1: you've told me now. Yeah.
- 9:40Speaker 5: There's a few other things.
- 9:41Speaker 3: I didn't want to say.
- 9:42Speaker 5: But the good thing is on 3483, people are texting
- 9:45Speaker 5: through with times they've been betrayed by their partner.
- 9:47Speaker 1: Yeah. And to be honest, fellas, it's not easy reading. G'day, guys.
- 9:54Speaker 5: My mate Phil, his partner, took his last dart.
- 9:56Speaker 1: That's a shocking bastard. They're not together anymore, are they? No.
- 10:03Speaker 3: Better do it for me.
- 10:05Speaker 1: I can just imagine coming out and thinking, I've got
- 10:07Speaker 1: one left.
- 10:08Speaker 4: Yes.
- 10:08Speaker 1: Go to the packet, open it up. It's not there.
- 10:10Speaker 1: Looking around. Yeah. And then there's only one person it
- 10:14Speaker 1: could have been.
- 10:15Speaker 5: Yes.
- 10:15Speaker 8: Yes.
- 10:16Speaker 1: It wasn't me. I know I had one left. Oh, Mr.
- 10:19Speaker 3: Nobody again, eh?
- 10:21Speaker 1: Must have been the boogeyman. Sorry.
- 10:23Speaker 5: Were you thinking like the last dart ever, you're giving up,
- 10:26Speaker 5: or just the last.
- 10:27Speaker 1: Dart and pack? No, just the last dart and pack.
- 10:29Speaker 1: And you pack it.
- 10:30Speaker 3: That is up there.
- 10:31Speaker 1: Is it? G'day, guys. I caught my wife listening to ZM.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Massive betrayal.
- 10:37Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 10:38Speaker 1: Idiot.
- 10:39Speaker 5: My partner betrayed me by eating the two-day-old sausage that
- 10:42Speaker 5: was in the fridge. I was thinking about having it
- 10:44Speaker 5: all day at work. Is there anything better than a
- 10:47Speaker 5: two-day-old sausage, Keezy?
- 10:49Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a good point.
- 10:50Speaker 1: My wife loves them.
- 10:51Speaker 4: Well, you know, I have a massive series of mini
- 10:56Speaker 4: betrayals from my wife all the time on that front.
- 10:58Speaker 1: Yes.
- 11:00Speaker 4: Related to your chocolates, your bickies. And I'll go, oh,
- 11:04Speaker 4: I'll tell you what I'll have. I'll have a couple
- 11:06Speaker 4: of biscuits. Oh, sorry, I finished those off this afternoon
- 11:10Speaker 4: while you were doing radio.
- 11:13Speaker 1: So she eats Bickies while you're at radio.
- 11:15Speaker 3: Yes, she does, Keezy.
- 11:16Speaker 5: And that's a betrayal. This one here from Luke. My
- 11:19Speaker 5: partner went to the supermarket to grab a few things.
- 11:21Speaker 5: When she got home, she asked me to take the
- 11:22Speaker 5: bag out to the bin and I saw a receipt
- 11:24Speaker 5: and it had a Kit Kat on it. It's funny
- 11:28Speaker 5: because like a Kit Kat's like, I don't know, nowadays
- 11:30Speaker 5: probably $ 10. I've got no idea because I don't buy
- 11:32Speaker 5: Kit Kats. But like something little like that can be
- 11:35Speaker 5: a big betrayal.
- 11:36Speaker 1: Oh, it is.
- 11:36Speaker 5: Like a little treat.
- 11:37Speaker 3: Well, you know, I've got to fess up here.
- 11:39Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:42Speaker 4: I was walking home, not last night, the night before,
- 11:44Speaker 4: and my wife was cooking dinner, and I might have
- 11:48Speaker 4: bought a Mexican beef mince pie on the way home.
- 11:52Speaker 1: Yeah. That's just you eating. That's not betrayal, is it?
- 11:58Speaker 4: Yeah, but I'm going home to dinner, Keezy, and then
- 12:00Speaker 4: I got home and I was like, actually, I'm quite full.
- 12:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I'll have mine tomorrow.
- 12:02Speaker 3: Yeah, I'll have it for leftovers.
- 12:04Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 12:05Speaker 5: Because I'm trying to think of times my wife has
- 12:08Speaker 5: betrayed me. But I honestly can't really think of anything major,
- 12:12Speaker 5: which is, I guess, a good thing.
- 12:13Speaker 1: Well, it's a concerning thing because you know she will
- 12:16Speaker 1: have done. Right. And if she's so good at hiding it. Yeah, right.
- 12:20Speaker 1: That's a betrayal.
- 12:20Speaker 3: I'm biting my tongue here.
- 12:24Speaker 5: The most recent thing is she borrowed my favorite keep cup,
- 12:28Speaker 5: my coffee cup, travel mug.
- 12:30Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 12:31Speaker 5: And we couldn't find it. Now I think she's lost it.
- 12:34Speaker 1: Was she acting like she'd never touched it?
- 12:36Speaker 5: Well, no, she admitted to it. You know, so that's the,
- 12:39Speaker 5: you know.
- 12:40Speaker 1: Honestly, man, is this the woman you want to be
- 12:41Speaker 1: the mother of your children? Because I would tell you this, Casey, no,
- 12:46Speaker 1: it's not.
- 12:47Speaker 5: But she found it.
- 12:49Speaker 1: Too late.
- 12:51Speaker 2: The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 12:59Speaker 8: Let's see who's winning an ITM Toolbox trade-off from The
- 13:02Speaker 8: Big Show on Radio Hauraki.
- 13:05Speaker 4: And I'm telling you, fellas, people are absolutely loving this,
- 13:10Speaker 4: the ITM Toolbox trade-off.
- 13:12Speaker 1: Certainly are.
- 13:13Speaker 3: Why wouldn't you?
- 13:14Speaker 1: Why wouldn't you?
- 13:15Speaker 5: It's to celebrate ITM's Toolbox top-up sale. There's all the
- 13:18Speaker 5: huge brands and more. Exclusive deals running right through October
- 13:22Speaker 5: and November. So if you need new tools, head down
- 13:24Speaker 5: to your local ITM. But the way it works, you
- 13:27Speaker 5: hear the cue to call. You ring 0800 HODUCKY. You
- 13:29Speaker 5: tell us what tool you've got that needs to be
- 13:32Speaker 5: traded online. And then we might be doing just that.
- 13:34Speaker 8: Yeah, man.
- 13:35Speaker 1: And, sorry.
- 13:36Speaker 3: Oh, yes.
- 13:37Speaker 5: And you're in the draw for $ 500 cash, which we
- 13:39Speaker 5: will be giving away on tomorrow's show.
- 13:40Speaker 4: Oh, how good. How bloody good. Let's go to the
- 13:42Speaker 4: phone lines. G'day, Carl, you mad bastard.
- 13:45Speaker 3: How's life?
- 13:46Speaker 7: Yeah, not too bad, boys. How's it going with you?
- 13:49Speaker 3: Yeah, good, thanks, mate. How's beautiful matter matter today?
- 13:54Speaker 1: Always, always sunshine in here. No, it's an absolute treat.
- 13:58Speaker 1: Are you a mad bastard for riding horses, Carl?
- 14:02Speaker 7: I definitely don't ride them, but I do love to
- 14:05Speaker 7: have a punt on them.
- 14:07Speaker 3: Okay, backbone.
- 14:08Speaker 1: And what do you do for a crust?
- 14:10Speaker 7: I'm a sparky.
- 14:11Speaker 1: Backbone.
- 14:15Speaker 3: Massive backbone.
- 14:16Speaker 5: Hey, Kyle, which tool of yours would you like to trade, mate?
- 14:20Speaker 7: Or I'd love to trade him my skilly, if that's
- 14:22Speaker 7: all right.
- 14:23Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, the old, probably the most popular tool of,
- 14:26Speaker 1: in any Sparky's toolbox, I'd say, is the old skilly. Yeah. Totally, mate.
- 14:31Speaker 3: Totally.
- 14:32Speaker 5: A skilly, that would be a skill saw.
- 14:34Speaker 1: Am I right, Kyle? Yeah, that's the one. Cool.
- 14:37Speaker 5: And just, what's your favorite memory of you with your
- 14:40Speaker 5: skill saw, man?
- 14:42Speaker 1: Probably the day I bought it, to be honest.
- 14:44Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 14:45Speaker 7: Looking beautiful and blushing.
- 14:47Speaker 1: Yeah, I remember that. Downhill since then, eh?
- 14:49Speaker 7: Yeah, downhill since then, yeah.
- 14:50Speaker 3: Yeah, that's no good, mate.
- 14:52Speaker 1: Yeah, well, that happens, man. That happens.
- 14:55Speaker 5: All right, just going to look here at what we're
- 14:57Speaker 5: going to trade you for that skill saw, man.
- 14:59Speaker 1: Hey, maybe we should give them the old. You reckon? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 15:04Speaker 1: He wants to trade the skins. Nah, nah, nah. He
- 15:05Speaker 1: doesn't want that, man. Doesn't he? Nah, nah, nah.
- 15:07Speaker 5: Hey, Kyle, I've just spoken to Mogi Man, and he's
- 15:10Speaker 5: agreed to give you a Pazload Framemaster Nightwolf worth $ 1, 169
- 15:16Speaker 5: plus GST. It includes a Framemaster Nightwolf framing nailer and
- 15:19Speaker 5: a bonus bush buck hoodie.
- 15:22Speaker 1: You are joking. No, mate. Get that up here, Carl.
- 15:26Speaker 7: Merry Christmas to me, eh?
- 15:29Speaker 3: Yeah, great stuff.
- 15:31Speaker 5: So you take that old skillet and you throw it,
- 15:33Speaker 5: I don't know, in the pit or whatever.
- 15:35Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah. And now you've got your framing nailer instead.
- 15:38Speaker 1: The interesting thing about that framing nailer, Carl, is it
- 15:41Speaker 1: only works if you're wearing your bush buck hoodie. Oh, perfect. Oh, perfect.
- 15:46Speaker 7: Coming into summer.
- 15:47Speaker 1: Yeah, totally, mate. Yeah. Do you like nailing stuff, Kyle? Oh,
- 15:52Speaker 1: not on air, fellas.
- 15:53Speaker 7: Come on.
- 15:54Speaker 1: What do you mean?
- 15:54Speaker 3: Hey, you hold the line, brother, and I'll.
- 15:56Speaker 1: Punch some and sort you out, all right? Beautiful.
- 15:59Speaker 4: Cheers.
- 15:59Speaker 1: Thank you, guys. Good on you, Kyle. Good on you, mate.
- 16:01Speaker 1: One of the greats. What a backbone. Jeez. He's off
- 16:03Speaker 1: his head, eh?
- 16:04Speaker 3: I'm going to be honest with you. I don't even
- 16:05Speaker 3: know what that is. Oh, really? Can you say that
- 16:08Speaker 3: to me again, please, Keezy?
- 16:09Speaker 5: A Pazlode Framemaster Nightwolf. which includes a Framemaster Nightwolf framing
- 16:15Speaker 5: nailer and a bonus hoodie.
- 16:17Speaker 1: You know when you do your framing, Jase, you're building
- 16:20Speaker 1: your house, right? You've got to do the framing, your walls,
- 16:22Speaker 1: all that sort of thing. You've got to have the
- 16:24Speaker 1: right nailer for the job, and that's what it is.
- 16:26Speaker 1: And then you've got the sick bushbuck hoodie that you
- 16:28Speaker 1: get to wear as well, and all the other fellas
- 16:30Speaker 1: on site are just going, who's this sick bastard?
- 16:33Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 16:34Speaker 1: It's me, Kyle. Didn't you recognise me?
- 16:37Speaker 3: It's like, nah. You flash bastard.
- 16:39Speaker 1: Yeah, you're a mad bastard.
- 16:41Speaker 3: Too good for us now, are you, Kyle?
- 16:43Speaker 1: Yeah, I thought you'd be down there punting on the
- 16:45Speaker 1: old horses, Kyle. Yeah, yesterday you were around here with
- 16:46Speaker 1: that shit-ass skilly. Yeah, man, trying to do.
- 16:51Speaker 5: Hey, don't forget ITEM's toolbox top-up sale is on right now.
- 16:56Speaker 5: It runs through November, so get stuck in there and
- 16:58Speaker 5: get yourself some new tools.
- 17:00Speaker 1: Yeah, good stuff, fellas. Loving it.
- 17:02Speaker 3: In the meantime, here's Jet.
- 17:04Speaker 2: The Hodaki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
- 17:07Speaker 2: in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hodaki.
- 17:09Speaker 4: The exponents there on the Radio Hodaki Big Show this
- 17:13Speaker 4: Thursday afternoon. The time is 4.49. Fellas, let's talk TV.
- 17:19Speaker 4: What's on the telly? with Mike Minogue.
- 17:25Speaker 1: Yes!
- 17:26Speaker 3: That's right.
- 17:28Speaker 1: Well, as discussed earlier in the show, I've continued watching
- 17:30Speaker 1: East of Eden. God, there's been some development. Yeah. At
- 17:35Speaker 1: home with my wife, as well as in the show itself,
- 17:38Speaker 1: It's bloody good. I've got two episodes to go. I'm
- 17:40Speaker 1: not going to talk about it again until I've seen
- 17:41Speaker 1: the whole lot. Yeah, fair enough. We'll just leave it there.
- 17:44Speaker 1: And it's Netflix, eh? It's on Netflix, man. It's going off.
- 17:46Speaker 1: It's taking the world by storm, can I say that? Certainly,
- 17:49Speaker 1: you can. People are loving it.
- 17:50Speaker 3: They are loving it.
- 17:50Speaker 5: It's funny on Netflix or wherever, certain shows take the
- 17:53Speaker 5: world by storm for about two months at a time.
- 17:55Speaker 5: Like Adolescence did that.
- 17:57Speaker 6: Yes.
- 17:57Speaker 1: And Squid Games was huge.
- 17:59Speaker 3: Yeah, that was massive.
- 18:00Speaker 1: One of the biggest ones ever was Tiger King. That's right.
- 18:03Speaker 3: Yes, that was massive.
- 18:04Speaker 1: Very, very rare. When you consider the amount of content
- 18:07Speaker 1: that they have, how rare it is for a show
- 18:10Speaker 1: to take off.
- 18:11Speaker 2: Yes.
- 18:11Speaker 1: Very, very rare.
- 18:13Speaker 4: Well, the movie I was talking about the other day,
- 18:16Speaker 4: The Death of Robin Hood, because that was like a
- 18:18Speaker 4: flop at the movies. But on Netflix, it's been number one.
- 18:21Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 18:21Speaker 3: Dedoosing it.
- 18:22Speaker 1: Oh, has it?
- 18:22Speaker 3: Yeah, massively so.
- 18:23Speaker 1: Oh, great.
- 18:24Speaker 4: Now, fellas, I watched a show last night on TVNZ
- 18:28Speaker 4: Plus called The Party. And it's a very well- Done storyline.
- 18:38Speaker 4: It's about two guys.
- 18:39Speaker 1: Like well-trodden.
- 18:40Speaker 3: Well-trodden, yes. Thank you. That's what I was looking for.
- 18:42Speaker 1: Well-trodden, that's good. Thank you.
- 18:45Speaker 4: One guy who's this rich sort of aristocratic type character.
- 18:50Speaker 1: Hot.
- 18:50Speaker 3: Yeah, good-looking fella.
- 18:52Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 18:53Speaker 4: You know, and lives, you know, in a sort of
- 18:55Speaker 4: really massive mansion. And his mate, who's this down-and-out fella.
- 19:00Speaker 3: Oh, he's not down-and-out. He's brilliant.
- 19:02Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 19:02Speaker 4: But he lives with his mum in Wales and he
- 19:06Speaker 4: wins a scholarship to this prestigious school. That's the backstory.
- 19:10Speaker 4: And so they become mates. And the rich sort of
- 19:14Speaker 4: aristocratic guy takes him under his arm and says, I'll
- 19:17Speaker 4: look after you, mate.
- 19:18Speaker 1: Bit of salt burn about it.
- 19:20Speaker 3: Yes, salt burn. Exactly.
- 19:22Speaker 4: So fast forward, the very rich aristocratic guy, he's a
- 19:25Speaker 4: politician who suddenly decides to run for the leadership of
- 19:29Speaker 4: the party because their leaders stood down. His mate, the
- 19:33Speaker 4: sort of, you know, the common fella, he's a hard-nosed reporter.
- 19:37Speaker 1: Is he?
- 19:38Speaker 4: He's a hard-nosed reporter, but they're very, very good mates. Now,
- 19:45Speaker 4: the story is really about the rich fella manipulating the
- 19:49Speaker 4: other fella.
- 19:49Speaker 8: Oh.
- 19:50Speaker 4: Him to do certain things in order to keep favour
- 19:54Speaker 4: with him.
- 19:54Speaker 1: Right.
- 19:55Speaker 4: And so it's constantly going back and forth between the
- 19:58Speaker 4: past and the present. And let's just say things get
- 20:01Speaker 4: revealed and.
- 20:02Speaker 3: You're like, wowza.
- 20:03Speaker 4: But my wife and I, about 20 minutes in, went,
- 20:06Speaker 4: I bet he did this and he did that, and
- 20:08Speaker 4: we were exactly right.
- 20:10Speaker 3: It's very predictable.
- 20:13Speaker 1: It's watchable.
- 20:14Speaker 4: It's not outstanding by any means. I'll give it 2.9
- 20:18Speaker 4: buzzies out of 5.
- 20:19Speaker 1: That's the party on TVNZ +. Yes.
- 20:22Speaker 5: Last night, my wife and I continued watching the second
- 20:24Speaker 5: season of Celebrity Traders UK, my favourite all-time reality show.
- 20:29Speaker 5: Last season was amazing this season. We're only two episodes in.
- 20:32Speaker 5: One of your guys' favorite actors, who my wife really
- 20:34Speaker 5: doesn't like anymore, Richard E.
- 20:35Speaker 1: Grant, he's had a shocker.
- 20:37Speaker 5: At the very start of the very first episode, he
- 20:39Speaker 5: has a shocker, and he spends the next two episodes
- 20:41Speaker 5: trying to figure out how to.
- 20:42Speaker 1: Undo the shocker he had.
- 20:45Speaker 5: And compared to the first season, where everyone's really overthinking
- 20:48Speaker 5: and bluffing and double bluffing and triple bluffing, the traders
- 20:52Speaker 5: this season aren't as smart as last season, and they're
- 20:55Speaker 5: doing pretty obvious stuff. And so you cut to everyone
- 20:59Speaker 5: trying to figure out who's the traitor, who's the traitor,
- 21:01Speaker 5: and all the stuff they're saying is what the traitors
- 21:02Speaker 5: have done.
- 21:03Speaker 1: Right.
- 21:04Speaker 5: Whereas the first season, the traitors were thinking like four
- 21:07Speaker 5: steps ahead and were very smart. This time, because of
- 21:11Speaker 5: a certain shocker by a certain actor, it's kind of, yeah,
- 21:14Speaker 5: I think the traitors are in trouble this season.
- 21:16Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 21:16Speaker 5: But only two episodes in. It's on 3NZ. If you
- 21:18Speaker 5: like reality shows and you like UK comedians.
- 21:20Speaker 1: Right.
- 21:21Speaker 5: Highly recommend watching it.
- 21:23Speaker 1: Okay.
- 21:23Speaker 3: I might give it a little nudge.
- 21:25Speaker 1: What's that on, Keezy? 3, New Zealand. No, 3Now. 3Now, sorry.
- 21:28Speaker 1: And it's called Celebrity Traders UK.
- 21:31Speaker 7: Okay.
- 21:34Speaker 2: The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune
- 21:38Speaker 2: in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 21:40Speaker 3: Welcome back, you massive backbones.
- 21:41Speaker 4: Hope your Thursday afternoon's absolutely going off. You're listening to
- 21:45Speaker 4: The Big Show brought to you by Reburger.
- 21:48Speaker 5: Handcrafted burgers, loaded fries and gourmet eats that'll change the game.
- 21:52Speaker 1: Ah, that's really quite yummy.
- 21:54Speaker 3: Sure is. Now, did you have it last night, Mogi?
- 21:57Speaker 1: Actually, I did.
- 21:58Speaker 3: Yes, you did.
- 21:59Speaker 1: Actually, yes, I did. And what I had was a
- 22:02Speaker 1: Smash Prince. Oh, yeah. And then there was a something-or-other King.
- 22:07Speaker 1: That's the one I had. Yeah. Word to the wise
- 22:09Speaker 1: there and there. They both came with chips, which is
- 22:12Speaker 1: a treat. And then had two of the chicken tendery
- 22:16Speaker 1: thingy-majiggies and a, what else was there? And then a
- 22:20Speaker 1: can of some kind of soda pop.
- 22:22Speaker 3: Yeah, soft drink.
- 22:23Speaker 1: And then what did the rest of the family have?
- 22:25Speaker 2: Hey, okay.
- 22:26Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 22:27Speaker 1: Do-do-do. Bloody hell, man. God, it's good. And actually, I
- 22:30Speaker 1: went in there and the guy was surprised and shocked.
- 22:34Speaker 1: Probably the same thing. to see me he was like
- 22:37Speaker 1: how come you didn't tell me you were coming in
- 22:38Speaker 1: I was like I kind of did with the order
- 22:40Speaker 1: but yeah he was very excited he was excited oh
- 22:42Speaker 1: that's nice yeah yeah it was nice which one was
- 22:44Speaker 1: that which store was that Grey Lynn oh cool yeah
- 22:46Speaker 1: yeah lovely fella nice fella really nice guy there but
- 22:50Speaker 1: all of the ones that we've been to when we
- 22:51Speaker 1: went and shot that video recently oh at Avondale he
- 22:53Speaker 1: was lovely too just lovely dudes I can't do too
- 22:56Speaker 1: much for you unreal.
- 22:57Speaker 5: And the guy that went to Rimuera as well and
- 22:59Speaker 5: shot a video there.
- 23:00Speaker 4: Lovely guys he was a backbone as well lovely fella
- 23:02Speaker 4: yeah great stuff well I'm did you have it man nah.
- 23:07Speaker 5: See see Jase do you see how nice it is
- 23:10Speaker 5: when Mogi says he's going to get Reburger and then
- 23:11Speaker 5: gets it yeah and then gives a specific very specific
- 23:14Speaker 5: and blatantly like honest rundown of how it was.
- 23:18Speaker 4: I've always been a vibe guy Kesey I'm not good
- 23:20Speaker 4: with details alright that's all I'm saying I love this
- 23:23Speaker 4: stuff do I need to say any more.
- 23:26Speaker 1: No you don't thank you Mogi continue to um.
- 23:30Speaker 5: Well what's the vibe of this next tune we're playing
- 23:32Speaker 5: man but no details it's just the vibe.
- 23:36Speaker 3: Rock and roll?
- 23:38Speaker 1: Close. I'd say grunge. Nirvana. Yeah, man.
- 23:42Speaker 2: The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 23:46Speaker 4: Queens of the Stone Age there on the Radio Hauraki
- 23:49Speaker 4: Big Show this Thursday afternoon.
- 23:51Speaker 3: The time is 5.15.
- 23:53Speaker 4: Now, regular listeners to the show will be aware of
- 23:56Speaker 4: the fact that old Keezy... sold his house in the
- 23:59Speaker 4: heavily built up area of Te Atatu.
- 24:03Speaker 5: Can you stop going in on my suburb, please?
- 24:05Speaker 3: No, it's beautiful.
- 24:07Speaker 5: It is heavily built up, though. So many townhouses, I
- 24:09Speaker 5: get it.
- 24:11Speaker 4: And he's now in a situation where you're sort of,
- 24:13Speaker 4: when are you moving out, Keezy?
- 24:15Speaker 1: Friday next week.
- 24:16Speaker 4: Yeah, Friday next week. And you're still looking for a
- 24:19Speaker 4: place to live.
- 24:20Speaker 5: So I've got a sort of temporary place to live.
- 24:22Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 24:23Speaker 5: A friend of ours, fortunately, her parents have a granny
- 24:26Speaker 5: flat situation, which we're renting.
- 24:27Speaker 3: Oh, very good.
- 24:28Speaker 1: Which is great. So we've got a place to stay.
- 24:30Speaker 3: Well, that'll be similar to what you're in.
- 24:34Speaker 1: Well, actually, it's way nicer because it's in Devonport.
- 24:38Speaker 3: Oh, nice.
- 24:38Speaker 5: Which is a really nice area of the North Shore
- 24:40Speaker 5: of Auckland.
- 24:41Speaker 3: Yes, it's lovely there.
- 24:42Speaker 5: Whereas the place we're in is just a good old
- 24:43Speaker 5: West Auckland brick and tile.
- 24:45Speaker 3: Yeah, totally.
- 24:46Speaker 1: It's my first house, though. I renovated it.
- 24:48Speaker 3: It's a great house.
- 24:49Speaker 1: I love it. Stop. Do you want to live there, Jase?
- 24:53Speaker 4: Just between you and me, Mogi, I did have a
- 24:55Speaker 4: little bit of a look around when we were doing
- 24:57Speaker 4: the old come dine with me.
- 24:59Speaker 1: What did you think, man?
- 25:00Speaker 4: I thought, this is quality stuff. Very dry in there,
- 25:05Speaker 4: you know, no moisture issues.
- 25:07Speaker 1: I've never seen a drier bathroom.
- 25:08Speaker 4: Yes.
- 25:09Speaker 1: Thank you very much, fellas. But, yeah, so we are looking.
- 25:12Speaker 1: We're cashed up by us, ready to go.
- 25:13Speaker 5: We're ready to, you know, take that step to that
- 25:16Speaker 5: next house.
- 25:17Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 25:18Speaker 3: Take a step up, as it were.
- 25:19Speaker 1: A family home.
- 25:20Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 25:21Speaker 3: Wow.
- 25:22Speaker 1: Okay. Here he is.
- 25:25Speaker 3: Well, go on then.
- 25:25Speaker 1: What do you mean, go on?
- 25:28Speaker 3: Let us know. Let us know what? Well, family home,
- 25:32Speaker 3: the big news.
- 25:32Speaker 1: No, there's no big, can you?
- 25:34Speaker 3: Anyway, Mogi and I, you know, we've been around the
- 25:38Speaker 3: blocks a few times.
- 25:39Speaker 2: We have.
- 25:40Speaker 3: Mogi, can I ask you, Keezy, what are you looking for?
- 25:42Speaker 1: Yeah, there you go. A family home. What do you
- 25:44Speaker 1: mean by that? A little bit of room for the
- 25:46Speaker 1: sprogs to run around?
- 25:48Speaker 5: Yeah, for the Sproggs to run around in that. No,
- 25:51Speaker 5: but you know, you've had your first house. You then
- 25:53Speaker 5: moved to your second house, which is slightly bigger. So
- 25:57Speaker 5: maybe three or four bedrooms would be nice.
- 26:00Speaker 1: Wow. How many bedrooms was the last one? Two.
- 26:03Speaker 5: So my current house was two, but we converted it
- 26:06Speaker 5: to three.
- 26:06Speaker 1: Oh, you're a sneaky bastard. Yeah, well, I wasn't sneaky.
- 26:08Speaker 1: It was all very above board.
- 26:09Speaker 3: Yeah, you're a shocking bastard. I hope the council doesn't
- 26:12Speaker 3: find out about that.
- 26:12Speaker 1: No, they do know about it because we did it
- 26:14Speaker 1: all officially above board. And something a bit more desirable
- 26:17Speaker 1: in terms of location?
- 26:21Speaker 6: No.
- 26:22Speaker 1: Same suburb, in fact. I love where I live. Yeah.
- 26:25Speaker 5: My wife does as well. We're actually looking to buy
- 26:26Speaker 5: in the same area.
- 26:27Speaker 1: The thing is, you've got to be on your toes
- 26:29Speaker 1: when you come home at your place, so you know
- 26:30Speaker 1: what I mean?
- 26:31Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 26:31Speaker 5: Yeah, it's not as safe as, I don't know, the
- 26:33Speaker 5: CBD where Jase lives.
- 26:34Speaker 1: Yeah, true.
- 26:35Speaker 5: You always get smacked over every night walking home.
- 26:37Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 26:39Speaker 5: But we are looking to live in the same sort
- 26:40Speaker 5: of place, like maybe three or four bedrooms. Maybe I
- 26:44Speaker 5: would love a double garage. I'd love a double garage,
- 26:47Speaker 5: because I've got my truckie there.
- 26:48Speaker 1: I've got my motorbike as well. Oh, yes. And in Auckland,
- 26:51Speaker 1: it's very... And I.
- 26:51Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 26:51Speaker 1: Yeah. Love a double garage.
- 26:53Speaker 4: Well, just on that front, you've got to sell those off,
- 26:55Speaker 4: I think, for a start. This is well outside your
- 26:59Speaker 4: price range.
- 26:59Speaker 1: I think if you're going to have kids as well,
- 27:01Speaker 1: you can ditch that motorbike.
- 27:02Speaker 4: Yeah, motorbike's got to go. And even probably the trucking,
- 27:05Speaker 4: you need to get a seven-seater.
- 27:06Speaker 5: No, but my dad and I restored that together, and
- 27:11Speaker 5: I told him I'd have it forever.
- 27:12Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. You say some things, Keezy, you don't mean.
- 27:17Speaker 1: You know, like my wife saying, yeah, we're going to
- 27:18Speaker 1: watch East of Eden together. Together and it didn't happen.
- 27:20Speaker 1: This is way bigger than that.
- 27:22Speaker 5: Like if I was to say that to my dad
- 27:24Speaker 5: and then he was put heaps of hundreds of hours.
- 27:25Speaker 1: Does he like East of Eden? No. I think he
- 27:28Speaker 1: watched it with your wife actually.
- 27:32Speaker 5: But if he was, you know, he was to put
- 27:33Speaker 5: hundreds of hours into this truck and then I was
- 27:35Speaker 5: to sell it and buy a seven seater.
- 27:37Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 27:38Speaker 1: He'd be a bit upset. The thing about Liz Casey,
- 27:40Speaker 1: it would be the practical move, and you're a practical guy.
- 27:42Speaker 1: I think you should do it.
- 27:43Speaker 5: Well, couldn't I just upgrade? And I don't have any Sproggs, FYI,
- 27:46Speaker 5: but couldn't I just upgrade my Honda Accord that I
- 27:49Speaker 5: drive every day? Like, do I have to sell the truck? Also,
- 27:53Speaker 5: are we looking at how, what are we doing here?
- 27:54Speaker 4: Yeah, we've got sidetracked. Can we come back and start again? Yeah,
- 27:59Speaker 4: we'll start again. We'll start again. Here's Kings of Leon.
- 28:01Speaker 1: Tune, by the way.
- 28:02Speaker 2: The Hodaki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune
- 28:06Speaker 2: in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hodaki.
- 28:08Speaker 4: We'll jam there on the Radio Hodaki Big Show this
- 28:11Speaker 4: Thursday evening. The time is 5.29 now. Old Mike Keezy.
- 28:16Speaker 4: He's looking to buy a new house. Exciting times for him.
- 28:21Speaker 4: You know, and one of the things that you've got
- 28:22Speaker 4: to do when you're buying property is just temper your
- 28:26Speaker 4: expectations a little bit.
- 28:27Speaker 1: Yes, sure.
- 28:28Speaker 4: You're saying you want a three- to four-bedroom house, a
- 28:30Speaker 4: double garage.
- 28:31Speaker 1: Yes.
- 28:32Speaker 4: You're saying also that you want to sort of stay
- 28:35Speaker 4: where you are, which is, interestingly, Te Atatu.
- 28:38Speaker 5: I'm in Te Atatu, which if anyone's from Auckland, it's
- 28:41Speaker 5: the first off-ramp out west out there. It's a lovely
- 28:43Speaker 5: little spot.
- 28:44Speaker 1: And also.
- 28:45Speaker 5: Auckland is so ridiculously expensive, Jase. I can't afford to,
- 28:48Speaker 5: and to be honest, I wouldn't because if I was
- 28:49Speaker 5: to move into the city closer, I would be spending
- 28:52Speaker 5: the same amount of money and getting a house that's
- 28:54Speaker 5: not even better than the current house.
- 28:56Speaker 3: Yeah, bang for your buck.
- 28:57Speaker 1: That's right.
- 28:57Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 28:58Speaker 1: Value for money.
- 28:59Speaker 4: You're wanting to stay in Te Ata 2, for example,
- 29:02Speaker 4: and have a bigger property.
- 29:03Speaker 1: That's right.
- 29:04Speaker 4: Like a backyard or something for all the broken cars
- 29:06Speaker 4: that will be there.
- 29:07Speaker 1: Like a 12-foot high fence? You've got to have a
- 29:10Speaker 1: high fence out there. Everyone does. Well, no, that's not true.
- 29:13Speaker 4: I don't even have a– The thing that you're going
- 29:15Speaker 4: to need to do too, like if you're buying in
- 29:17Speaker 4: that area, and this is just– What? Is, you know,
- 29:23Speaker 4: you're going to have to put bars on the window there, Keezy.
- 29:26Speaker 1: On every window?
- 29:27Speaker 4: Yeah. I'd get some security going too, you know, those–
- 29:30Speaker 4: what are they, security cameras? Yes.
- 29:32Speaker 3: Yes, and those lights that just click on.
- 29:35Speaker 7: Floodlights.
- 29:36Speaker 3: Floodlights, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 29:37Speaker 5: Well, I'm not trying to set up a compound or anything.
- 29:39Speaker 5: I mean, I've lived out there for eight years.
- 29:42Speaker 1: No, longer. Nine years. Yes. And it's eight. No one cares.
- 29:49Speaker 1: I've lived out there for eight years. We've never had
- 29:51Speaker 1: any issues with burglars. No, but often, yeah, your burglars
- 29:53Speaker 1: will look at something. They'll stand outside the house and
- 29:55Speaker 1: they'll go, is it worth my time?
- 29:57Speaker 3: Yeah, what's the point?
- 29:59Speaker 5: Hey, there's good stuff in my house. Stuff that's worth stealing. No,
- 30:03Speaker 5: this is good.
- 30:04Speaker 3: Because bang for your buck.
- 30:05Speaker 4: Because you're right, the closer you get to the city,
- 30:08Speaker 4: the more expensive it becomes.
- 30:09Speaker 8: That's right.
- 30:10Speaker 3: And you get less and less and less. You get
- 30:12Speaker 3: a nice house.
- 30:15Speaker 1: No, you don't. You get a small apartment.
- 30:18Speaker 3: And that's true. But if you're willing to do that,
- 30:21Speaker 3: I get that you'll tiara too. Yeah, that's fair enough.
- 30:23Speaker 1: I wouldn't mind two bathrooms as well. I'd love an ensuite.
- 30:26Speaker 4: Have you thought about a little bit further out and
- 30:29Speaker 4: you will absolutely get bang for your bucks.
- 30:32Speaker 3: I'm being serious here.
- 30:33Speaker 1: Huntley. Huntley is, what, an hour and a half away?
- 30:39Speaker 3: Yeah, but, I mean, what time do you start every day?
- 30:42Speaker 3: That's true.
- 30:43Speaker 4: So you leave at midday-ish, and you're going to get
- 30:46Speaker 4: an absolute busy palace in Huntley.
- 30:50Speaker 5: But I don't want to live in Huntley. I like
- 30:51Speaker 5: living in West Auckland. And I'd say Huntley is probably
- 30:55Speaker 5: more dangerous than West Auckland.
- 30:56Speaker 3: Oh, no, they're much of a muchness.
- 31:01Speaker 1: No disrespect to anyone living in Huntley. No. But, no, look,
- 31:04Speaker 1: I would love to live in Huntly, Jase. You know that.
- 31:06Speaker 5: But I'm pretty set on West Auckland.
- 31:09Speaker 1: And especially because growing family. Oh, yes.
- 31:14Speaker 5: Well, no, don't say especially because. Sorry, is that the
- 31:19Speaker 5: noise of me and my wife making love? Is that
- 31:21Speaker 5: what it sounds like? Is that what it sounds like?
- 31:24Speaker 1: Because that's about as long as it is usually, to
- 31:26Speaker 1: be honest.
- 31:28Speaker 2: The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 31:31Speaker 1: Radio Hauraki.
- 31:34Speaker 2: Gig a little on Radio Hauraki. Let's see who wants
- 31:38Speaker 2: to hear the roar of the encore.
- 31:39Speaker 1: Cheers to Super Liquor.
- 31:41Speaker 4: Yes indeed, spring has sprung. We're heading into summer and
- 31:45Speaker 4: that's gig time, fellas.
- 31:47Speaker 1: You going to be gigging this summer, Jase?
- 31:48Speaker 3: Totally, man, totally. I'm into it. I'm fired up.
- 31:52Speaker 5: So is Super Liquor. That's why they've given us a
- 31:54Speaker 5: whole heap of cash to give away this month. $ 250
- 31:57Speaker 5: at a time for you to put towards a gig,
- 31:59Speaker 5: a festival, or a concert of your choice. All you've
- 32:01Speaker 5: got to do is listen out for the roar of
- 32:02Speaker 5: the encore, the cutie call, and then give us a
- 32:05Speaker 5: call on 0800 HODUCKY.
- 32:06Speaker 3: Yeah, bloody good stuff. Let's go to the phone lines then, Keezy. G'day, Charlie.
- 32:09Speaker 3: You're mad, Barson. How's life?
- 32:11Speaker 7: Hey, Jase. Yeah, not bad, mate.
- 32:13Speaker 1: How are you?
- 32:13Speaker 3: Yeah, good, thanks, mate. How's beautiful Wellington today?
- 32:17Speaker 7: I tell you what, it's sunny and it's 19 degrees.
- 32:20Speaker 7: Not a bad way to drive home.
- 32:21Speaker 3: Holy heck. What do you do for a crust there, Charlie?
- 32:25Speaker 7: I work with sheep and beef at an abattoir.
- 32:28Speaker 1: Oh, nice.
- 32:29Speaker 3: Backbones. Quite a few backbones.
- 32:31Speaker 1: When you say you work with beef and sheep, really,
- 32:35Speaker 1: you know. They're mates.
- 32:38Speaker 5: Oh, you know.
- 32:38Speaker 7: It's a trick with the gumboots, but I don't know
- 32:41Speaker 7: if I have to say it on air.
- 32:42Speaker 3: Yeah, no, we hear you, Charlie. Now, listen, mate, you're
- 32:44Speaker 3: into your music, you're into your gigs.
- 32:47Speaker 8: Yeah, mate.
- 32:48Speaker 7: Love a bit of tunes.
- 32:49Speaker 1: Just a bit, though.
- 32:50Speaker 5: If we gave you this $ 250 cash, man, which gig
- 32:53Speaker 5: would you like to go see?
- 32:55Speaker 7: There's this one coming up at Brewtown in Upper Hutt.
- 32:57Speaker 7: It's got all sorts of good artists. It does, actually.
- 33:00Speaker 1: Yeah, they've got an absolute bloody beauty. I vaguely remember
- 33:03Speaker 1: them having Sublime out there a year or two ago.
- 33:06Speaker 1: That was very recently, yeah.
- 33:07Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 33:08Speaker 1: So they have some great gigs out there at old Brewtown.
- 33:11Speaker 5: Any artists or bands you're keen to see in particular, Charlie?
- 33:15Speaker 7: Yeah, pretty keen to catch a fire in 660, so
- 33:17Speaker 7: it'll be good.
- 33:17Speaker 3: Yeah, good stuff.
- 33:20Speaker 4: Well, great news for you, Charlie. We're going to give
- 33:23Speaker 4: you $ 250 cash. How does that sound?
- 33:27Speaker 7: Yeah, you get it, mate.
- 33:28Speaker 1: No worries. Good on you, Charlie. You enjoy that gig,
- 33:31Speaker 1: all right?
- 33:32Speaker 7: All right, cheers, fellas.
- 33:32Speaker 1: Have a good one.
- 33:33Speaker 4: No worries, mate.
- 33:34Speaker 3: You too.
- 33:34Speaker 1: You old the line pugs will look after you.
- 33:36Speaker 3: Yeah, good stuff, eh?
- 33:37Speaker 1: That sounds like a cool gig, actually. Yeah, it is
- 33:39Speaker 1: a hell of a gig. Should we go to it?
- 33:41Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure it's called, well, in fact, I know,
- 33:44Speaker 1: It's called Summer Meltdown, 23rd of January down there at
- 33:47Speaker 1: Brewtown in the Hut. 660, Catchafire, The Black Seeds, Troy Kingey,
- 33:52Speaker 1: Rio Hall, Tikitane.
- 33:54Speaker 4: Wow.
- 33:54Speaker 3: Oh, wow.
- 33:55Speaker 1: That's a hell of a gig. I love all those artists.
- 33:57Speaker 1: That's good.
- 33:58Speaker 5: In summer, I love as soon as spring and summer comes,
- 34:01Speaker 5: I just flick the musical switch and I change to barbecue,
- 34:04Speaker 5: sort of Catchafire.
- 34:05Speaker 1: It's odd, isn't it? It changes your entire musical line-up.
- 34:08Speaker 1: Good eating.
- 34:09Speaker 3: I go Nick Cave.
- 34:11Speaker 5: Just more down buzz.
- 34:12Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. Yeah.
- 34:13Speaker 3: Sort of vibes.
- 34:15Speaker 1: Yeah. Which gigs are you looking forward to going to, Jase?
- 34:19Speaker 3: Frying my sossies and me onions.
- 34:22Speaker 5: Hey, cheers to gigs. Cheers to Super Liquor. Would you
- 34:25Speaker 5: see these guys.
- 34:25Speaker 3: Live, Jase? Maybe some chicken nibbles.
- 34:30Speaker 1: Some black keys.
- 34:31Speaker 2: The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
- 34:34Speaker 2: in weekdays at 4.
- 34:37Speaker 4: The Killers there on the Hodaki Big Show this Thursday evening.
- 34:41Speaker 4: The time is 5.52. Now, you'll be aware of the
- 34:43Speaker 4: fact over the last few months, we've been doing a
- 34:46Speaker 4: thing called Come Dine With The Fellas.
- 34:50Speaker 1: Come Dine With The Fellas.
- 34:54Speaker 3: Mogi was first. Hoiti J second.
- 34:58Speaker 5: Yes.
- 34:58Speaker 3: Keezy was the last one that we had. And Pugs
- 35:03Speaker 3: is the.
- 35:03Speaker 1: Only one left.
- 35:04Speaker 3: And I thought it would be really good.
- 35:05Speaker 4: Actually, fellas, if we got Pugs into the studio just
- 35:09Speaker 4: to see how it's all sort of gelling together and
- 35:12Speaker 4: how he's feeling about it.
- 35:13Speaker 1: Ooh, it's Pugs time. Afternoon, fellas. How you going?
- 35:19Speaker 3: Yeah, good, thanks, mate.
- 35:20Speaker 1: Thanks for having me. Good things, Pugs.
- 35:22Speaker 5: So for those that aren't aware, we do a Come
- 35:23Speaker 5: Down With Me competition. You're rated on Entree Main Dessert Entertainment.
- 35:29Speaker 5: You're hosting us.
- 35:30Speaker 1: I am. In a couple of weeks' time.
- 35:32Speaker 8: Fellas, I'm really excited to have you all over. Every
- 35:35Speaker 8: day I go into my apartment and sort of get
- 35:38Speaker 8: from the bedroom to the lounge at about three steps
- 35:40Speaker 8: and I go, can't wait to have three other couples
- 35:43Speaker 8: around my dining table.
- 35:44Speaker 1: I'm excited for that.
- 35:45Speaker 3: Yeah, very much so.
- 35:46Speaker 1: And to be honest, I think that's in your favour.
- 35:47Speaker 3: Yeah, I agree.
- 35:48Speaker 1: It's charming, isn't it?
- 35:49Speaker 3: It is charming. It's intimate.
- 35:52Speaker 1: Oh, it'll be intimate.
- 35:54Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 35:55Speaker 5: It's like pugs, you know, when you're in Japan. And
- 35:57Speaker 5: you go in there and it's a tiny little restaurant.
- 35:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 36:00Speaker 5: Hardly any room and little store. That's where I had
- 36:02Speaker 5: my best dining experiences.
- 36:05Speaker 1: Exactly. No, I'm really looking forward to it. It's going
- 36:08Speaker 1: to be fun.
- 36:09Speaker 8: We're just sort of working out the finer details of
- 36:12Speaker 8: the entertainment. We've got the theme planned.
- 36:16Speaker 3: Yeah, nice, nice.
- 36:17Speaker 1: Are you happy with that? Yeah, no, I am. Yeah,
- 36:21Speaker 1: we've been planning it, as I say. We've logged it
- 36:24Speaker 1: in two weeks out, so I'm pretty happy with it.
- 36:26Speaker 4: Because one of the things I enjoy about my company
- 36:30Speaker 4: when I'm with you, or your company when I'm with you, Paxan,
- 36:35Speaker 4: you love your food chat. You know, we have a
- 36:38Speaker 4: bit of restaurant chat and all that sort of stuff.
- 36:40Speaker 4: This is great. And I know that you are a
- 36:42Speaker 4: superb chef. Your sticky beefs.
- 36:46Speaker 3: 100%. Your chilli eggs.
- 36:48Speaker 1: Attention to detail with pokes.
- 36:49Speaker 3: And your attention to detail.
- 36:50Speaker 4: Also know your lovely partner is an exquisite chef.
- 36:55Speaker 8: She is an exquisite chef, but let me just say this, Jase. Obviously,
- 36:57Speaker 8: I'm aware of the sort of rulings around help in
- 36:59Speaker 8: the kitchen. I am slightly paranoid of that. So we're
- 37:03Speaker 8: having those kinds of discussions at the moment.
- 37:04Speaker 1: So what's happening? She's really keen to be involved. You
- 37:06Speaker 1: don't want her to be, but she's going to do
- 37:08Speaker 1: whatever she wants.
- 37:10Speaker 3: It's close, Moggy.
- 37:11Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 37:12Speaker 1: It feels like that would be the thing because I
- 37:13Speaker 1: think from her point of view, she probably thinks bugger
- 37:15Speaker 1: the competition, the competition doesn't matter. The main thing is
- 37:18Speaker 1: that everybody has a great time. That is a recurring thing, yeah.
- 37:21Speaker 5: And that won't happen if it's just pugs.
- 37:26Speaker 1: Is that right? Is that what she's thinking?
- 37:28Speaker 5: I'm just trying to pick up what you guys are
- 37:29Speaker 5: putting down here.
- 37:30Speaker 1: Chris, I know that some of the scores you went
- 37:33Speaker 1: super stoked with. What are you talking about? You don't
- 37:35Speaker 1: have to have a go at me about it, all right? Pugs. Actually,
- 37:38Speaker 1: just on that, are you planning on doing it all
- 37:39Speaker 1: on the day?
- 37:41Speaker 5: Or are you planning on pre-preparing stuff?
- 37:44Speaker 1: Let me just say this. Everything will be done that morning.
- 37:47Speaker 1: I'll be up very, very early.
- 37:48Speaker 8: Wow.
- 37:48Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. That makes sense, man.
- 37:50Speaker 8: But yeah, we've kind of got a rough idea of
- 37:53Speaker 8: the menu and the kind of cuisine. And I won't
- 37:57Speaker 8: go too much into the theme, but let's just say, fellas.
- 38:02Speaker 8: It's going to be appropriate for spring having been sprung.
- 38:07Speaker 1: Okay. Spring, okay. Well, it's not a spring theme. I'm
- 38:10Speaker 1: not telling you a theme two weeks out.
- 38:11Speaker 5: Doesn't being sprung mean like you'll make it love?
- 38:15Speaker 4: Well, so it's a couple of weeks away. I think
- 38:18Speaker 4: what we do is about a week out you tell us.
- 38:20Speaker 4: Two weeks out the theme and then a week out
- 38:22Speaker 4: the menu.
- 38:23Speaker 1: That's right. No, that's not how we've done it for
- 38:25Speaker 1: any of you. Oh, really? So we won't be doing that. No,
- 38:27Speaker 1: it's three weeks out.
- 38:28Speaker 8: You tell us you guys did it like two days
- 38:30Speaker 8: before you no no no yeah you did.
- 38:32Speaker 1: Yeah certainly uh the menu i think was a few
- 38:35Speaker 1: days out.
- 38:35Speaker 8: A few days at most yeah so i think let's
- 38:39Speaker 8: just keep it to that thank you i'm very much looking.
- 38:41Speaker 1: But the theme was the week before i'm sure yes
- 38:43Speaker 1: we can argue about that at another stage yeah i'm
- 38:46Speaker 1: just telling you man if you're not going to do
- 38:48Speaker 1: it that way then you know i'll just.
- 38:50Speaker 8: Do it how we've all done it put that way
- 38:51Speaker 8: but yeah yeah I don't.
- 38:53Speaker 1: Know I don't know how I'm feeling about your.
- 38:56Speaker 4: Event there's a lot of bad vibes going on yeah
- 38:58Speaker 4: it's it's been.
- 39:00Speaker 8: Fun let's just see the vibes we've got here you
- 39:02Speaker 8: can expect them on the night it's going to be tense.
- 39:08Speaker 2: The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
- 39:11Speaker 2: in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 39:14Speaker 4: Yes, sure bloody is, and sure is great to have
- 39:16Speaker 4: your company this beautiful Thursday evening. You're listening to The
- 39:20Speaker 4: Big Show, by the way, brought to you by Reburger.
- 39:22Speaker 1: Serving good times and good food. Dine in or take
- 39:25Speaker 1: away Reburger today.
- 39:26Speaker 3: The name's burger.
- 39:28Speaker 1: Dish, dish, dish.
- 39:29Speaker 3: Reburger. What's for dinner tonight, Keezy, in the Keezy household?
- 39:38Speaker 5: We are making tacos tonight.
- 39:41Speaker 1: Pork mince? No, beef mince. Nice.
- 39:44Speaker 5: Beef mince tacos that are... Designed to taste like a
- 39:48Speaker 5: certain burger.
- 39:50Speaker 4: Oh, right.
- 39:50Speaker 1: A very famous burger. You guys are always having that
- 39:53Speaker 1: over the years.
- 39:53Speaker 4: You guys are never going to get the re-burger flavour
- 39:56Speaker 4: that you're trying for.
- 39:57Speaker 3: It's never going to happen.
- 39:58Speaker 1: I want it to taste like a Smash Prince.
- 40:00Speaker 3: Yeah, I know.
- 40:01Speaker 1: To be honest, we get bloody close. And it's quite
- 40:05Speaker 1: a nice meal. It's actually really easy to make.
- 40:06Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 40:07Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah.
- 40:07Speaker 6: Nice.
- 40:07Speaker 4: Nice.
- 40:07Speaker 5: So that's what we're having.
- 40:08Speaker 1: What are you guys having?
- 40:09Speaker 3: Yeah, good stuff.
- 40:10Speaker 1: What about you, Mogi? That's a good question, Jase. I'm
- 40:12Speaker 1: not entirely sure. I'll let you know tomorrow. I don't
- 40:16Speaker 1: know what the wife's got planned. I don't know. Could
- 40:18Speaker 1: be nothing.
- 40:18Speaker 3: Right.
- 40:19Speaker 1: Could be something.
- 40:19Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 40:20Speaker 1: I'm loving summer, though. I like getting back into summer
- 40:22Speaker 1: and getting more salad-y sort of stuff going on.
- 40:25Speaker 3: Agreed.
- 40:25Speaker 1: And I love a salad. Yeah, same. How good's a salad, Keezy?
- 40:28Speaker 1: Do you like fruit in your salad? Oh, fruit salad.
- 40:30Speaker 1: Don't get me started. That's not what I'm saying.
- 40:34Speaker 5: I'm saying like, so my wife makes a great, actually
- 40:36Speaker 5: you guys had it, like a rocket and pear and
- 40:39Speaker 5: parmesan style salad.
- 40:40Speaker 1: Do you like a bit of pear?
- 40:42Speaker 4: It was a bit heavy on the pear, I thought.
- 40:44Speaker 1: No, it was not.
- 40:47Speaker 5: So you don't like any fruit in a salad?
- 40:49Speaker 1: I hate any fruit in a salad. I think that's true, yeah.
- 40:52Speaker 5: Like pomegranate sprinkled throughout a.
- 40:54Speaker 1: I can live with a pomegranate, but any kind of like,
- 40:59Speaker 1: I don't think a salad is a place for fruit.
- 41:03Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 41:03Speaker 1: I don't. Same as meat and fruit. I don't like it.
- 41:05Speaker 5: Do you like fruit salad, though? Like if I gave
- 41:09Speaker 5: you a bowl of fruit salad.
- 41:10Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 41:10Speaker 1: Have you tossed it? Yeah, I'll toss it. Yeah, then
- 41:13Speaker 1: I'm keen.
- 41:14Speaker 4: Having said that, Moggy, I had a very nice apple
- 41:17Speaker 4: slaw the other day.
- 41:18Speaker 3: Apple slaw.
- 41:20Speaker 1: What's in that? I bet there's no, you don't put
- 41:23Speaker 1: lettuce in it. You don't get an apple slaw and
- 41:24Speaker 1: then somebody says to you, Do you like that with
- 41:26Speaker 1: some broccoli and some lettuce in it? No, but I'll
- 41:28Speaker 1: have cabbage.
- 41:29Speaker 3: Cabbage and all that sort of jam.
- 41:31Speaker 1: Apple grated into it. Yeah, yeah.
- 41:32Speaker 3: It's mostly vegetables.
- 41:33Speaker 1: Yeah, that's foul. That sounds orgy. But that's the thing.
- 41:36Speaker 1: You either like fruit in it or you don't, and
- 41:38Speaker 1: I don't.
- 41:39Speaker 3: Yeah, fair. That's fine, man.
- 41:41Speaker 7: Okay.
- 41:42Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 41:42Speaker 5: Do you like Element OP?
- 41:46Speaker 1: Who doesn't? That's right.
- 41:48Speaker 2: The Hodaki Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hodaki.

- 41:56Speaker 4: Thursday evening.

- 42:01Speaker 1: Certainly do, Jase. A huge new competition. Actually, I'm shaking. Really?
- 42:06Speaker 1: You've got goosebumps. Goosebumps.
- 42:08Speaker 5: So, Hodaki, you know, we've been known to do some
- 42:11Speaker 5: pretty exciting stuff.
- 42:12Speaker 1: Can we get a drum roll? Sure. Chat for a bit? Yeah, man.
- 42:16Speaker 8: Well.
- 42:16Speaker 1: This has been something that's been on the boil for
- 42:18Speaker 1: a little while, Jase, and we were hoping to be
- 42:21Speaker 1: the ones that were going to break it across the
- 42:23Speaker 1: airwaves for Radio Hauraki, but unfortunately we weren't. Breakfast got
- 42:26Speaker 1: the honour of that, but now we get to continue
- 42:29Speaker 1: to push the messaging around it, and I'm bloody thrilled
- 42:31Speaker 1: about it. Yeah, I found a drumroll. Here we go. Okay, sorry,
- 42:42Speaker 1: that's the only drum, I'm not lying, that's the only
- 42:44Speaker 1: drum roll I can find. It's called drum roll and fart.
- 42:48Speaker 5: Okay, but if you've got a fundraiser coming up, a
- 42:53Speaker 5: community event, a party or a parade or something.

- 43:17Speaker 5: to get out and meet you in the flesh. He's
- 43:19Speaker 5: a cricket bat with a couple of cricket balls.
- 43:20Speaker 3: Actually, just on that front, by the way, he wrong
- 43:24Speaker 3: and went out this afternoon. To Albert Park.
- 43:28Speaker 1: He went to Albert Park.
- 43:28Speaker 3: To Albert Park. And true story, he was mobbed.
- 43:32Speaker 1: I bet.
- 43:32Speaker 6: He was.
- 43:33Speaker 3: Absolutely mobbed.
- 43:35Speaker 1: He's hugely popular.
- 43:36Speaker 3: I can see why.
- 43:37Speaker 1: He should have his own socials handles.
- 43:41Speaker 3: I agree.
- 43:42Speaker 1: Oh, like his own Instagram and TikTok? Yeah, yeah, yeah. What?
- 43:48Speaker 1: Rangan is one of the great names. And look, in
- 43:51Speaker 1: terms of competitions, this is an absolute gem. Imagine you're
- 43:55Speaker 1: there at work. You've been on the tools all week.
- 43:58Speaker 1: You're having a few beers. And then you hear beep, beep, beep. Well,
- 44:01Speaker 1: then you hear this. Hang on. It's me, Rogan. I
- 44:10Speaker 1: don't know if he talks.
- 44:11Speaker 3: Yeah, I was going to say, does Rogan talk?
- 44:14Speaker 1: I don't think so.
- 44:14Speaker 3: Oh, right.
- 44:16Speaker 1: You'd just be made up, wouldn't you? Yeah, yeah.
- 44:19Speaker 3: How's that?
- 44:23Speaker 1: This is a 100% real competition, by the way.
- 44:26Speaker 5: Rogan is a larger-than-life cricket bat, and he's ready to
- 44:28Speaker 5: hit the road.
- 44:29Speaker 1: Does he turn up with any beers?
- 44:30Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 44:31Speaker 1: I don't think so, man. I think it's just him.
- 44:41Speaker 1: It's just him.
- 44:43Speaker 5: So register your interest at hodaki.co.nz.
- 44:51Speaker 1: Oh, website's going to crash. Here's some Everclear, man.
- 44:56Speaker 3: Good stuff.
- 44:57Speaker 1: The station rules.
- 45:01Speaker 2: The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune
- 45:05Speaker 2: in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 45:07Speaker 4: Smashing pumpkins there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this
- 45:11Speaker 4: Thursday evening.
- 45:11Speaker 3: Fellas, this is a true story.
- 45:15Speaker 8: Right.
- 45:16Speaker 3: I was in the bathroom today.
- 45:18Speaker 1: Oh, God.
- 45:20Speaker 4: And just, you know, putting a bit of wax in
- 45:23Speaker 4: my hair.
- 45:24Speaker 1: Do you wax your hair?
- 45:25Speaker 3: No, not wax. What do you call it? Sort of
- 45:27Speaker 3: the sticky stuff. Oh, gel. No, not gel. It was wax.
- 45:31Speaker 4: Anyway, you know, I was looking at my face in
- 45:35Speaker 4: the mirror and I went, oh, my God.
- 45:42Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 45:43Speaker 4: Now, I, over the years, have been known for certain
- 45:46Speaker 4: physical characteristics.
- 45:48Speaker 3: I don't want to get into them here.
- 45:49Speaker 1: Honker.
- 45:51Speaker 3: Yeah, certainly my honker.
- 45:53Speaker 4: But there's one thing, and I'm genuinely kind of freaking
- 45:57Speaker 4: out about it. There's one thing that I've always had
- 45:59Speaker 4: on my head is.
- 46:01Speaker 3: Really small ears.
- 46:04Speaker 1: Oh, no.
- 46:05Speaker 4: Like tiny ears. I've always had tiny ears.
- 46:10Speaker 1: You've always said that that's the thing you're most proud
- 46:12Speaker 1: of in your life. Well, yeah.
- 46:14Speaker 3: I mean, they were cute little.
- 46:15Speaker 1: That's right. He says there's not a lot I'm proud of.
- 46:18Speaker 3: My wife calls them my little monkey ears.
- 46:20Speaker 1: Oh, that's racist.
- 46:21Speaker 6: And.
- 46:23Speaker 3: I looked this morning and I thought, they're massive.
- 46:28Speaker 1: Look at them.
- 46:31Speaker 4: I'm not joking. They must have grown by maybe a half.
- 46:35Speaker 5: Are you serious?
- 46:36Speaker 4: A half.
- 46:38Speaker 5: So, because I know that as you age, your ears
- 46:43Speaker 5: get bigger, your nose gets bigger, and you get hairier. Yeah.
- 46:46Speaker 1: And your eyebrows. And your eyebrows, yeah.
- 46:48Speaker 3: And your eyebrows.
- 46:48Speaker 4: And I was like, have you noticed? Because you have
- 46:50Speaker 4: turned 50 now, Mogi. I mean, is this what I
- 46:53Speaker 4: have to look forward to? Just all these bodily changes
- 46:56Speaker 4: all over the place?
- 46:57Speaker 1: Well, as you know, Jase, earlier on this week, I
- 47:00Speaker 1: woke up with a burst blood vessel underneath my eye.
- 47:02Speaker 3: Oh, that's gone.
- 47:04Speaker 1: It's better, isn't it? Yeah, it's cleaned up pretty well.
- 47:05Speaker 1: Now I've just got my normal dark rings. So it's
- 47:09Speaker 1: hard to tell. Then last week while gently bobbing my
- 47:12Speaker 1: head to another Tom Petty wounder here in the studio,
- 47:15Speaker 1: I put my neck out.
- 47:17Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 47:17Speaker 1: Both those things are true. And then, you know, to
- 47:21Speaker 1: know that as you see there, Keezy, that the nose
- 47:24Speaker 1: continues to grow. Mine's already massive. Ears continue to grow.
- 47:27Speaker 1: Mine stick out a mile. Hair starts to come out
- 47:29Speaker 1: of places it's never come out of before.
- 47:31Speaker 3: Right, okay.
- 47:32Speaker 1: Out of your ears more, the top of your ears,
- 47:34Speaker 1: out of your nose.
- 47:35Speaker 3: Your nostrils.
- 47:36Speaker 1: Shoulder blades, all sorts of weird spots. Shoulders are weird.
- 47:38Speaker 5: Like I used to have one on my shoulder that
- 47:40Speaker 5: my wife used to every now and then spot and
- 47:42Speaker 5: then pull out.
- 47:43Speaker 1: And somehow one day it's not there, the next day
- 47:45Speaker 1: it's eight feet long. Yes.
- 47:47Speaker 5: Or now there's like, oh, wow, there's like five of them.
- 47:50Speaker 4: Well, I knew that as you got older you got
- 47:52Speaker 4: massive balls.
- 47:54Speaker 1: I knew that.
- 47:55Speaker 4: And I'm also aware that your honker tends to grow.
- 47:59Speaker 1: It does.
- 48:00Speaker 3: But I didn't know about the ears.
- 48:02Speaker 1: Oh, yes.
- 48:02Speaker 3: And I'm not joking. They are probably double the size
- 48:06Speaker 3: that they used to be.
- 48:07Speaker 1: They're still smaller than my ears.
- 48:08Speaker 3: Yeah, they're still small, but they're massive for me.
- 48:10Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 48:11Speaker 1: You can imagine how big my ears are going to
- 48:13Speaker 1: be by the time I'm up.
- 48:14Speaker 3: Oh, my God.
- 48:14Speaker 2: Okay, all right. The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from 4
- 48:19Speaker 2: on Radio Hauraki.
- 48:26Speaker 6: Well, there you go, you mad bastard.
- 48:36Speaker 1: That's the big show, done and dusted. For another day
- 48:39Speaker 1: in there. Yeah.
- 48:41Speaker 3: What are your plans this evening, Mogi?
- 48:43Speaker 1: I'm going to ride home on my mother's step-through bicycle.
- 48:46Speaker 1: Pushbike Mogi. It's a lovely evening. I'm trying to decide
- 48:50Speaker 1: which way I go. I've got two possible ways I
- 48:52Speaker 1: can go home. One of them... is quite a steep hill. Yes.
- 48:55Speaker 1: And then the other one is smooth, but then right
- 48:58Speaker 1: by my house, the last stretch is a very, very,
- 49:02Speaker 1: very steep hill, but not as far. But I'm always gassed,
- 49:05Speaker 1: so you have to get off your bike and push it.
- 49:07Speaker 1: Even an e-bike? Oh, it's insanely steep. And does it have,
- 49:10Speaker 1: I know the one that your house is on, what
- 49:12Speaker 1: about the other one? The other one. The other hill,
- 49:14Speaker 1: the first hill The first hill is absolutely, you can
- 49:17Speaker 1: go up there. I'd do that. But it's just a
- 49:19Speaker 1: much bigger hill. It's just longer.
- 49:20Speaker 3: It is a big hill.
- 49:21Speaker 1: I'll give you that. But I'll be honest with you, Keezy,
- 49:22Speaker 1: in my mind I'm thinking, no, I'd rather do the
- 49:24Speaker 1: bigger hill because the other hill pushing your bike up there,
- 49:26Speaker 1: those bikes weigh a ton, mate. It weighs as much
- 49:29Speaker 1: as your motorbike there. No, it doesn't. Well, push bike.
- 49:32Speaker 5: Your mum's old push bike.
- 49:34Speaker 1: It's almost brand new, Casey.
- 49:37Speaker 5: Tonight, fellas, I'll be listening to the Big Show Disclaimer Podcast.
- 49:42Speaker 1: Actually, here's a little clip of it.
- 49:46Speaker 5: You know Ponzi schemes?
- 49:49Speaker 1: Yeah, I know Ponzi.
- 49:50Speaker 5: The guy, Ponzi, that started them.
- 49:54Speaker 1: That's Ponzi.
- 49:54Speaker 5: That's a Ponzi scheme is what you're thinking.
- 49:58Speaker 1: That's classic chat. That's good stuff. That's Radio Woods. We
- 50:03Speaker 1: did a.
- 50:04Speaker 5: Bit of Roo's chat on the podcast tonight. It comes
- 50:07Speaker 5: out at 7.30.
- 50:07Speaker 3: Yeah, good stuff. What are you up to, Keezy?
- 50:09Speaker 1: I'm going to go home.
- 50:10Speaker 5: My wife and I will go for a walk. Then
- 50:12Speaker 5: we'll probably watch another episode.
- 50:13Speaker 3: Pre or after?
- 50:14Speaker 1: After.
- 50:16Speaker 5: To help with digestion. And then we'll watch Traders UK Celebrity.
- 50:20Speaker 5: And then she'll probably go to bed and then I'm
- 50:21Speaker 5: going to play PlayStation for a wee bit.
- 50:22Speaker 1: Your digestion's not going to know itself after the winter
- 50:24Speaker 1: it's had with no post-dinner walks. I know.
- 50:27Speaker 5: To be honest, I hate not walking after dinner. So
- 50:29Speaker 5: I'm stoked to be back at it, fellas.
- 50:31Speaker 3: Yeah, good stuff.
- 50:31Speaker 1: What are you doing, Jason?
- 50:32Speaker 3: Now that is a good question, Keezy. I don't know
- 50:36Speaker 3: if I told you, fellas.
- 50:37Speaker 1: It was a rhetorical one.
- 50:39Speaker 3: But my mother-in-law's up.
- 50:42Speaker 4: And so it's that thing of, do we, because she
- 50:45Speaker 4: loves being in the apartment. She loves the apartment. So
- 50:47Speaker 4: it's like, do we have a really nice sort of
- 50:51Speaker 4: home-cooked meal or something like that?
- 50:53Speaker 3: But then again, it's like, we're in the CBD. It
- 50:58Speaker 3: feels like you should be, you know, going out and
- 51:01Speaker 3: about and showing.
- 51:02Speaker 4: Which is what we've done the last couple of times
- 51:06Speaker 4: she's been here.
- 51:07Speaker 3: We've gone out.
- 51:09Speaker 4: So I'm really– actually, I've got to actually text my wife.
- 51:13Speaker 1: I'll see you later. Okay, bye, Mikey.
- 51:14Speaker 5: Hey, if you're a fan of the show, we'll be
- 51:17Speaker 5: back tomorrow, 4 p.m.
- 51:18Speaker 1: Till 7. We'll see you then. Check out the podcast.
- 51:20Speaker 5: Check out the Instagram there.
- 51:21Speaker 4: Because they may have already decided, of course, that– Yeah,
- 51:25Speaker 4: you're right.
