- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey guys, welcome back to Wisecracks. Bill Krakenberger over here
- 0:03Speaker 1: at the Fabulous Circus Superbook. Guess what? Randy's in town.
- 0:07Speaker 1: There he is, Randy McKay. Over here at the Fabulous
- 0:10Speaker 1: Circus Superbook, like I said. Randy, I had some guys
- 0:14Speaker 1: come over here before, fans of the show.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Sat down.
- 0:17Speaker 1: And I invited him to come in and sit down
- 0:18Speaker 1: for a few minutes. We were talking about the screens
- 0:20Speaker 1: and the things I take advantage of. I don't realize
- 0:22Speaker 1: how cool it is in here. Look at the view
- 0:24Speaker 1: in here.
- 0:25Speaker 3: It's just so cool.
- 0:26Speaker 1: What do we got on here?
- 0:27Speaker 4: Great place to see a game. This is my alma mater,
- 0:31Speaker 4: Mayville State.
- 0:32Speaker 2: The White Hats?
- 0:33Speaker 4: Yeah, so I belong to a... A club there and
- 0:37Speaker 4: it's called a great iron gang now. So I belong
- 0:41Speaker 4: to them every year. I give them pretty good donation
- 0:44Speaker 4: and I'm actually going to the game on Saturday.
- 0:46Speaker 1: Oh, how cool. Yeah, Randy wearing the grandissimo hat. No
- 0:49Speaker 1: more Masters hat for now. He's still alive.
- 0:52Speaker 2: One out of 30. Am I correct?
- 0:54Speaker 3: That's right.
- 0:55Speaker 2: One out of 30.
- 0:55Speaker 1: The first week we got knocked out my team with
- 0:59Speaker 1: the Chargers and you know, the Chargers knocked out a
- 1:02Speaker 1: lot of people out of the survivors week one and
- 1:05Speaker 1: week two. And, of course, Baltimore did a good number of,
- 1:08Speaker 1: I think, am I saying this right? There's 30 of
- 1:11Speaker 1: 77 left in Grandissimo. And I think there's like, I
- 1:14Speaker 1: don't know the number. I should know. About two-thirds of
- 1:17Speaker 1: the people are out already of the big survivor after
- 1:21Speaker 1: two weeks.
- 1:22Speaker 2: Is that right?
- 1:22Speaker 3: Yeah, like right around 9,000, I think.
- 1:24Speaker 1: Almost two-thirds. Yeah, that's just amazing, the carnage in these
- 1:28Speaker 1: pools already. But I'm glad you're still alive because I
- 1:33Speaker 1: got a little piece of Randy, so I'm glad he's
- 1:35Speaker 1: still alive there. Now, do you guys, when you go
- 1:38Speaker 1: and make your pick, is it a group effort?
- 1:41Speaker 2: All you guys talk together?
- 1:43Speaker 1: You're your team?
- 1:44Speaker 2: Or is it more, do you have a bigger say
- 1:46Speaker 2: in this final pick?
- 1:49Speaker 4: I'm the ultimate decider, but, yeah, I will take advice
- 1:52Speaker 4: from that.
- 1:53Speaker 3: Group chat we were in.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Yeah, the group chat.
- 1:56Speaker 4: Yeah, I will take some advice there as far as
- 1:58Speaker 4: what path I should use.
- 2:00Speaker 2: Okay.
- 2:00Speaker 4: You know, of course, the Grand Desomo path will be
- 2:03Speaker 4: different probably than the regular Survivor because.
- 2:06Speaker 3: The Grand Desomo is a smaller event or smaller path.
- 2:10Speaker 1: You know, pool as far as.
- 2:12Speaker 4: Players and won't go probably as long and the main
- 2:16Speaker 4: survivor will probably still go the length.
- 2:19Speaker 2: We had San Fran last week?
- 2:21Speaker 3: Yep.
- 2:22Speaker 1: And the first week we had Jacksonville?
- 2:23Speaker 3: Jacksonville.
- 2:24Speaker 1: Jacksonville, all right.
- 2:25Speaker 2: I like to say we. All right.
- 2:28Speaker 1: So, Randy, I wanted to start out with a A
- 2:31Speaker 1: guy that I really like. I've seen him in concert
- 2:34Speaker 1: there and his show Carrot Top. I thought he was
- 2:37Speaker 1: very funny. Very funny comedian. And he's a nice guy.
- 2:40Speaker 1: I've seen him on a plane. Just a nice guy.
- 2:44Speaker 1: And a shame that he attempted to take his own life,
- 2:47Speaker 1: but he's good now. He's awake, breathing on his own
- 2:51Speaker 1: after his incident there. It's a shame someone was trying
- 2:56Speaker 1: to shake him down for some money or something. We
- 2:59Speaker 1: don't know the exact report. The purpose of me mentioning
- 3:03Speaker 1: this more than anything else is I'm glad he's okay
- 3:07Speaker 1: and well. Because I like him. I thought he was
- 3:09Speaker 1: a very funny guy. Have you ever seen him?
- 3:11Speaker 3: I have not. I've had a lot of friends. It's hysterical.
- 3:15Speaker 4: Everybody I've seen or everybody I know that has seen
- 3:19Speaker 4: the show enjoys the show. So, hopefully he comes back
- 3:24Speaker 4: for everybody to see again. But, yeah, regrettably I haven't
- 3:27Speaker 4: seen him.
- 3:28Speaker 1: So... I also want to talk about Caesars. So Tillman Fertitta,
- 3:35Speaker 1: overwhelmingly they voted in favor of him taking over Caesars,
- 3:38Speaker 1: which I guess I'm glad because Caesars wasn't really doing
- 3:42Speaker 1: nothing for me anyway. At least I have a chance
- 3:44Speaker 1: to maybe get back in the sports book now. No,
- 3:48Speaker 1: I actually have been with Tillman a couple of times,
- 3:50Speaker 1: and he's always been friends. I know a lot of
- 3:51Speaker 1: his guys, and I actually flew down to when he
- 3:56Speaker 1: first took over the Golden Rug, I flew down with
- 3:58Speaker 1: a bunch of guys. And he put us on the
- 4:00Speaker 1: court for a Houston Rockets game when he first took
- 4:03Speaker 1: over the Golden Nugget here. So that deal's supposedly closing. And,
- 4:08Speaker 1: you know, I wanted to talk about this, too.
- 4:09Speaker 2: Now, this is like.
- 4:13Speaker 1: The one week of the year that they have a
- 4:17Speaker 1: deal for all the casinos up until Saturday, September 29th.
- 4:27Speaker 1: it seizures as part of it.
- 4:28Speaker 2: It's joined the.
- 4:29Speaker 1: Vegas five day deal with, uh, sales of rooms like
- 4:33Speaker 1: up to 60% off $ 50 shows. I don't know if
- 4:36Speaker 1: it's like once a year, they did this last year.
- 4:38Speaker 1: It was so good that they actually brought it back
- 4:41Speaker 1: this year. And the prices are unbelievable. I know someone
- 4:46Speaker 1: that got a deal at MGM. He literally was paying
- 4:49Speaker 1: $ 5 for his room. I guess their fees like 50 bucks.
- 4:53Speaker 1: So 55 bucks for the night. Um, It's a great
- 4:57Speaker 1: deal up to 60%. This particular promotion I'm reading about
- 5:01Speaker 1: is Caesars extending the five-day promotion 9 a.m.
- 5:04Speaker 2: To 9 p.m.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Until Tuesday, September 29th. So they're additionally at $ 50 show
- 5:11Speaker 1: tickets to Josh Groban and Tim McGraw. That's unbelievable to
- 5:15Speaker 1: see these big-name shows for $ 50.
- 5:17Speaker 2: $ 30 for Jeff Dunham. I actually like Jeff Dunham.
- 5:21Speaker 1: I thought he was funny with his puppets, with his
- 5:23Speaker 1: little terrorist puppet.
- 5:24Speaker 3: I've seen Terry Fader. I haven't seen him.
- 5:26Speaker 2: Terry Fader is fantastic also. But anyway, yeah, that's a good.
- 5:29Speaker 3: And then, of course, McGraw, that's the son of Tug McGraw.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, that's the son of Tug.
- 5:33Speaker 3: Remember the old picture?
- 5:34Speaker 2: Yeah, and I got my dad and mom backstage, and
- 5:37Speaker 2: they were so nice.
- 5:38Speaker 1: Don't mind me. Tim McGraw and his wife. I forget
- 5:41Speaker 1: his wife, but they were really, really nice people. And
- 5:45Speaker 1: my parents had pitchers with them. Tim McGraw was helping
- 5:48Speaker 1: my dad out. My dad was in a wheelchair at
- 5:49Speaker 1: the time, helping him out.
- 5:50Speaker 2: Of the wheelchair. Hill, Faith Hill.
- 5:52Speaker 3: Faith Hill.
- 5:53Speaker 2: Faith Hill's her name. They were so nice.
- 5:55Speaker 1: Tim McGraw was such a nice guy. And I actually
- 5:57Speaker 1: knew a couple of their songs. They have big songs.
- 5:59Speaker 3: Yeah, they have big songs.
- 6:00Speaker 2: Yeah, real nice people.
- 6:02Speaker 3: You won't hear them in this casino, but other casinos
- 6:04Speaker 3: you'll hear.
- 6:04Speaker 2: No, you're not going to hear them over here.
- 6:07Speaker 1: You may hear one of your guys here, 50 Cent
- 6:09Speaker 1: or whatever they have playing.
- 6:11Speaker 2: But, no, this is not. Yeah, they have some rock
- 6:15Speaker 2: in here, too.
- 6:15Speaker 3: Yeah, every once in a while.
- 6:17Speaker 1: Yeah, they'll switch it up. So, anyway, I always tell
- 6:20Speaker 1: people good and bad about Caesars. And I think this
- 6:23Speaker 1: is a good thing for Caesars properties. And I'm actually
- 6:26Speaker 1: glad that Tillman took over here. Now, it doesn't take
- 6:31Speaker 1: me too long to get into other areas here. Well,
- 6:35Speaker 1: let's start out with a fun one. I was telling
- 6:37Speaker 1: our producer, J.H.
- 6:38Speaker 2: So, this guy....
- 6:40Speaker 1: Played one Powerball ticket and comes forward.
- 6:47Speaker 2: One month after the drawing. He put it in his
- 6:49Speaker 2: draw for a couple weeks.
- 6:51Speaker 1: Didn't even realize he had a billion dollars in his draw. Wow.
- 6:55Speaker 1: One billion, over a billion, $ 1, 400, 000 sitting in his draw.
- 6:59Speaker 2: Who knew?
- 6:59Speaker 1: He had one ticket. One. Wow. I just can't believe
- 7:07Speaker 1: this guy had one. He bought one.
- 7:09Speaker 2: That's all it takes, though, right?
- 7:10Speaker 3: Yeah, that's all it takes.
- 7:12Speaker 2: Incredible. Yeah, I thought that was pretty cool. Good story.
- 7:15Speaker 3: Imagine losing that in your drawer.
- 7:17Speaker 2: Right, right.
- 7:18Speaker 1: And I guess Chicago, the reason why I thought it
- 7:21Speaker 1: was in Chicago.
- 7:22Speaker 2: But J.H.
- 7:23Speaker 1: Tells me that Quincy, Illinois is about an hour outside J.H.,
- 7:27Speaker 1: an hour outside of Chicago. Quincy? It's closer to St. Louis.
- 7:30Speaker 2: Oh, it's closer to St.
- 7:31Speaker 1: Louis. I guess he had to claim it in Chicago, though.
- 7:34Speaker 1: So he claimed it. He chose one quick pick on
- 7:38Speaker 1: a $ 2 ticket. I just think it's great, even though
- 7:43Speaker 1: I don't ever condone lottery tickets. But a billion dollars,
- 7:46Speaker 1: it might have been, you say it's an overlay, but
- 7:48Speaker 1: I don't know. He chose the lump sum payment of
- 7:52Speaker 1: $ 450 million. But, you know, interesting is that if you
- 7:58Speaker 1: choose the lump sum, you only have 60 days to
- 8:00Speaker 1: claim it. if you choose the payment every year over
- 8:04Speaker 1: the payments. So he did choose the, so good for him.
- 8:08Speaker 1: And I love stories like that. Guy's going to work
- 8:12Speaker 1: every day.
- 8:12Speaker 2: Sitting in his draw. Got a billion dollars sitting in
- 8:15Speaker 2: his draw.
- 8:15Speaker 3: Hopefully he gives some to charity.
- 8:17Speaker 1: Hey, let me tell you something that's right. And Randy's
- 8:21Speaker 1: middle name is Charity, by the way. Okay, so just
- 8:24Speaker 1: to let you know this.
- 8:26Speaker 2: How about this? Did you know Mr.
- 8:28Speaker 1: Stevens is the first founding partner of the athletics in
- 8:34Speaker 1: Las Vegas here. Through his casino and a multi-year agreement,
- 8:38Speaker 1: Derek Stevens will gain a dugout suite for preferred customers,
- 8:43Speaker 1: hopefully us three here, and other preferred casino customers and
- 8:49Speaker 1: other seats in the ballpark.
- 8:50Speaker 2: How about this deal?
- 8:52Speaker 1: So they have 22 seats in this section for all
- 8:57Speaker 1: 81 home games, which I think we definitely have to
- 9:02Speaker 1: be a part of here.
- 9:02Speaker 3: Oh, definitely, yeah.
- 9:03Speaker 1: Plus an additional 32 seats throughout the 33,000 stadium.
- 9:08Speaker 2: So we do have room for you.
- 9:10Speaker 1: Randy in one of those other seats.
- 9:12Speaker 3: Yeah, very exciting. Definitely we can figure that one out.
- 9:16Speaker 1: I love going to a ball game. We just never
- 9:18Speaker 1: get a chance to do it.
- 9:19Speaker 2: This will be great.
- 9:20Speaker 4: Derek's a big baseball guy. You've got to remember he
- 9:23Speaker 4: did a lot with the Aviators. Back in the day,
- 9:26Speaker 4: I think he was partial owner of them as well.
- 9:28Speaker 1: And I'm going to read exactly what he said here.
- 9:30Speaker 1: This is a quote from Derek Stevens.
- 9:32Speaker 2: I love baseball.
- 9:32Speaker 1: I reached out to the A's early, and I said
- 9:34Speaker 1: I wanted to do.
- 9:36Speaker 2: A deal with you guys.
- 9:37Speaker 1: He told the newspaper, the real premise was I wanted
- 9:40Speaker 1: to develop something unique and special for when the A's
- 9:44Speaker 1: got to Las Vegas. So I think that's fantastic. He
- 9:49Speaker 1: first partnered with the A's playing an undisclosed amount, well,
- 9:53Speaker 1: paying an undisclosed amount, I should say, to place advertising
- 9:57Speaker 1: signage for the company's sports betting business on the left
- 9:59Speaker 1: field wall of their Sacramento team. But I think this
- 10:03Speaker 1: is a great thing. I am so happy.
- 10:05Speaker 4: Yeah, we'll see what kind of fun things they do
- 10:07Speaker 4: at the baseball game like they do at.
- 10:09Speaker 3: The hockey game.
- 10:10Speaker 2: The hockey game is just great.
- 10:11Speaker 4: The hockey game is phenomenal with some of the acts
- 10:14Speaker 4: and drumming and some of the shows they have kind
- 10:18Speaker 4: of in between periods and that kind of thing, Las
- 10:21Speaker 4: Vegas style.
- 10:22Speaker 3: We'll see how they add that to baseball. It'll be
- 10:24Speaker 3: pretty exciting.
- 10:26Speaker 2: No, you're right. You're absolutely right.
- 10:28Speaker 1: Okay, real quick, let's do our wager wire segment here.
- 10:32Speaker 1: Not such a great day for these New York Giants.
- 10:37Speaker 1: Dart out for the season. And, you know, they look
- 10:40Speaker 1: great after the first game. Everyone thought, wow, the Giants
- 10:43Speaker 1: are for real this season. Just goes to show you
- 10:45Speaker 1: what a quarterback can do.
- 10:46Speaker 3: Such a volatile thing in football.
- 10:49Speaker 1: There's so many starting quarterbacks.
- 10:51Speaker 2: That are down.
- 10:51Speaker 4: You know, it don't take much to go from a
- 10:55Speaker 4: great team to a bad team in one week.
- 10:57Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 10:59Speaker 2: So this is a four-legger.
- 11:00Speaker 1: Over on WagerWire.com and the WagerWire app.
- 11:03Speaker 3: 50 bucks.
- 11:04Speaker 2: I don't know why.
- 11:05Speaker 1: I'm against parlays.
- 11:06Speaker 2: You know that. But whenever I see $ 50 doing 93,000,
- 11:08Speaker 2: I'm like, wow, what did you bet for 50?
- 11:12Speaker 1: I just think about $ 50. But if you do it
- 11:15Speaker 1: every week, it's a lot of money. But I'm thinking
- 11:17Speaker 1: about the money we spend on stupid things. And even
- 11:20Speaker 1: people watching, some of these $ 10 parlays and stuff, just think,
- 11:24Speaker 1: This is $ 50 to win $ 93, 000. Literally, $ 10 would have
- 11:28Speaker 1: been to win $ 16, 000.
- 11:29Speaker 4: If that's a free bet, you're doing kind of a
- 11:33Speaker 4: neat thing.
- 11:33Speaker 2: Randy brings up a great point.
- 11:35Speaker 1: When you get free bets from your sportsbook, they should
- 11:38Speaker 1: be on stuff that is getting back. Now, would you
- 11:42Speaker 1: say an individual single bet, though, more than a parlay,
- 11:45Speaker 1: taking like two or three to one? Or would you
- 11:47Speaker 1: actually say put a parlay into your free bets?
- 11:50Speaker 3: Yeah, do a little bit of both, actually.
- 11:52Speaker 4: Mix it up on that, because it makes your account
- 11:54Speaker 4: look a little better if you do the parlay. I
- 11:57Speaker 4: notice on some of these new sportsbooks now, they've restricted
- 12:01Speaker 4: what some of those can pay out now, so be careful.
- 12:04Speaker 4: They do that, just take like a straight money line,
- 12:08Speaker 4: like on a dog or something this week, like take
- 12:11Speaker 4: a shot with Miami on the money line against Chiefs
- 12:13Speaker 4: or something.
- 12:14Speaker 1: Well, this particular four-legger, they won the first two legs.
- 12:18Speaker 1: They won Carolina Hurricanes versus the Vegas Golden Knights on
- 12:22Speaker 1: a specific day. They won the New York Knicks to
- 12:25Speaker 1: win the NBA championship. When they batted, it was plus 155.
- 12:29Speaker 1: The Yankees now to win the World Series. Ooh, I
- 12:32Speaker 1: don't know about that one. But how about this? The
- 12:35Speaker 1: vibes were certainly optimistic for leg four here after the
- 12:39Speaker 1: Giants beat the Cowboys. The Giants to win the Super Bowl. No.
- 12:44Speaker 2: That's going to be a real tough one.
- 12:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:47Speaker 3: It was a real tough one before.
- 12:49Speaker 1: So, really, that's why the ticket's only worth $ 103 now,
- 12:54Speaker 1: a $ 53 profit.
- 12:55Speaker 2: It's real simple.
- 12:56Speaker 1: You want to get the Yanks deep here and hope
- 12:59Speaker 1: for the Yanks to win the World Series.
- 13:00Speaker 2: I don't think you should.
- 13:01Speaker 1: Double up your money and take the $ 100 right now.
- 13:04Speaker 1: See what the Yanks do and then definitely buy out
- 13:08Speaker 1: because I don't know how much more value you're going
- 13:11Speaker 1: to get, but I'm guessing if the Yankees win the
- 13:14Speaker 1: World Series... You will get about an 8X, 7 or
- 13:18Speaker 1: 8X off your original amount on.
- 13:21Speaker 2: 5 to 1.
- 13:22Speaker 1: Yeah, you get about $ 350 compared to your $ 50. I
- 13:26Speaker 1: would buy out then. So you have to agree with me, right?
- 13:30Speaker 1: You're not saying put it all on the Giants, are you? No.
- 13:33Speaker 2: Okay.
- 13:33Speaker 1: So let's close with that. WagerWire.com and the WagerWire app.
- 13:39Speaker 1: It's a fun one because of the situation that happened
- 13:42Speaker 1: there this week.
- 13:44Speaker 2: I'll tell you, this New York State, wow.
- 13:49Speaker 1: The money that New York is making, they're the sports
- 13:52Speaker 1: betting capital of the United States.
- 13:54Speaker 2: Did you know that?
- 13:55Speaker 1: New York is a sports betting capital. They have more
- 13:57Speaker 1: volume than anywhere else. They're the sports betting capital.
- 14:02Speaker 3: It was New Jersey for a while.
- 14:03Speaker 2: Yeah, New Jersey. Then it was legal in New York.
- 14:06Speaker 1: New Jersey, when it was only New Jersey and Nevada,
- 14:09Speaker 1: and then New Jersey and Nevada, Pennsylvania and New York,
- 14:12Speaker 1: of course, but I like what this new law that's
- 14:19Speaker 1: not passed yet. New York bill would require monthly sports
- 14:24Speaker 1: betting statements for players. So every player that plays, you're
- 14:28Speaker 1: going to get a monthly statement. Under the bill, regulated
- 14:32Speaker 1: sportsbooks would have to provide customers with a monthly summary
- 14:35Speaker 1: of their betting activity that includes your deposits, wagers, winnings, losses,
- 14:41Speaker 1: net winner loss, total wagers, time spent, bonuses and credits,
- 14:45Speaker 1: information on responsible gambling, and access to betting history. A
- 14:49Speaker 1: couple of those things they have already on there. You
- 14:51Speaker 1: have to go a little bit deeper on your app.
- 14:53Speaker 1: to find a couple of those things. But I think
- 14:56Speaker 1: this is great. This bill is now waiting on Governor
- 15:00Speaker 1: Hochul's decision. No lawmakers voted against it during the review process,
- 15:04Speaker 1: a sign of broad support for the measure.
- 15:06Speaker 2: I hope it happens.
- 15:07Speaker 1: I hope it happens in New York. Sports betting capital,
- 15:11Speaker 1: like I said, just waiting for Governor Kathy Hochul's decision
- 15:16Speaker 1: to send these monthly statements out.
- 15:18Speaker 4: Hopefully the government doesn't go after people that Or winning
- 15:23Speaker 4: big amounts with that, though, is the only thing I.
- 15:26Speaker 3: Would be a little worried about.
- 15:27Speaker 1: Well, the reason why I was mentioning it, too, as
- 15:29Speaker 1: you can see here in this article, New York Sportsbook's
- 15:32Speaker 1: record 595 million in week one bets.
- 15:37Speaker 2: No one higher than that.
- 15:38Speaker 1: Up 15% from previous years.
- 15:41Speaker 2: New York was up 13%.
- 15:42Speaker 1: Sorry. I was reading something earlier. DraftKings up 15% from
- 15:45Speaker 1: the previous year on their handle. So New York up
- 15:46Speaker 1: 13% higher from 2025 to 2026. $ 595 million in bets
- 15:48Speaker 1: during the first weekend in New York. Just absolutely insane
- 15:51Speaker 1: how much money. Let's just even use CalSheet. So CalSheet.
- 16:09Speaker 1: That Sunday night game, the Giants and Dallas on Cal Sheet,
- 16:15Speaker 1: it generated $ 112 million. Well, like I said, DraftKings also
- 16:21Speaker 1: identified the game at its largest prediction market event ever.
- 16:26Speaker 1: This comes as prediction markets continue to face regulatory challenges
- 16:30Speaker 1: over their sports event contracts.
- 16:31Speaker 2: Several U.S.
- 16:32Speaker 1: States, like Connecticut, arguing that these contracts fall under state
- 16:36Speaker 1: gambling regulations instead of federal oversight so we're going to
- 16:39Speaker 1: see what's going to happen here a lot of the
- 16:41Speaker 1: states are getting a little bit upset because they're not
- 16:43Speaker 1: getting the same tax dollars like new york's 51 i
- 16:46Speaker 1: believe so they're not getting that um 51 and they're
- 16:50Speaker 1: the even though they're 51 these companies are making a
- 16:54Speaker 1: ton of money there because of the volume that is
- 16:56Speaker 1: there so um this is an article it was on
- 16:59Speaker 1: covers uh brad Seneca wrote, more than half of U.S.
- 17:05Speaker 2: Sports bettors wager to.
- 17:06Speaker 1: Pay their bills. The reason why I say this on
- 17:09Speaker 1: my VEASAN show, I've actually mentioned that in the past.
- 17:12Speaker 1: People try to wager just to get their bills paid.
- 17:15Speaker 1: And I know that for a fact. People bet hoping
- 17:18Speaker 1: to get... That's been going on forever, though. Not just
- 17:21Speaker 1: sports wagers. Gambling is one of the... Gambling, and I
- 17:24Speaker 1: think it was alcohol, were the two things that always survived,
- 17:28Speaker 1: even during downtimes, always, all the time. So.
- 17:32Speaker 3: You look at old prohibition videos and all that.
- 17:34Speaker 2: That's it, prohibition videos.
- 17:36Speaker 3: In the speakeasies, that's what they're doing.
- 17:39Speaker 1: Yeah, the survey found 21% bet to cover rent or
- 17:42Speaker 1: mortgage payments. Prediction markets are becoming a factor for sports bettors.
- 17:47Speaker 1: This survey ran between August 31st and September 3rd, found
- 17:50Speaker 1: that 57% bet weekly nearly matched last year's study. More
- 17:56Speaker 1: than 20% plan to use betting to cover rent, mortgage payments.
- 17:59Speaker 1: 18% to pay credit cards. Another 18% for unexpected costs.
- 18:04Speaker 1: 5% to pay student loans. Are you kidding me? 2%
- 18:09Speaker 1: to pay tuition. Now, we know what's going to happen here.
- 18:13Speaker 1: you're going to go more into debt doing that. This
- 18:15Speaker 1: is not a successful method to pay any.
- 18:17Speaker 2: Of your bills. So it just really is. The U.S.
- 18:22Speaker 1: News also reported that 41% of respondents have used prediction
- 18:25Speaker 1: market sites which compete with traditional sportsbooks. Last year marked
- 18:30Speaker 1: the first football season with these type of contracts. But
- 18:34Speaker 1: more than half, 55% said trading is no different than
- 18:36Speaker 1: sports betting, which we know it's not.
- 18:38Speaker 2: It's gambling. That's what it is.
- 18:40Speaker 1: It's actually, for guys like us, It's actually better than
- 18:46Speaker 1: in those traditional states like New York and such. In
- 18:49Speaker 1: certain situations, you know, living in Nevada has its advantages, too.
- 18:53Speaker 2: I was saying, you know, you're betting enough.
- 18:54Speaker 1: Here, Circa Sportsbook. Guy comes in that's a big casino gambler,
- 18:58Speaker 1: wants to bet $ 200, 000 on a game.
- 19:00Speaker 2: Comes up to the counter.
- 19:01Speaker 1: Matter of fact, they'll take more than an NFL game.
- 19:03Speaker 1: I think they're going to take half a million bucks.
- 19:05Speaker 1: Dumps down on the counter. Well, now that Book's forced
- 19:07Speaker 1: to overmove their game, you may find something. low-hanging fruit
- 19:10Speaker 1: on something. Now, the individuals, unlike a big corporation like
- 19:14Speaker 1: Caesars or DraftKings or one of the big ones, MGM,
- 19:19Speaker 1: they may not move off something like that because they
- 19:22Speaker 1: have so much volume.
- 19:23Speaker 2: So, yeah, let's close out.
- 19:28Speaker 1: Last story I thought was This funeral director stole clients'
- 19:33Speaker 1: prepayments and lost all the money gambling. Now, the reason
- 19:37Speaker 1: why I bring this up, so a lot of people
- 19:40Speaker 1: prepay for their funeral expenses. And, you know, this is
- 19:45Speaker 1: 170 clients at his funeral home prepaid. This is Philip
- 19:50Speaker 1: Pietras made more than 800 casino trips and lost $ 1. 2
- 19:55Speaker 1: million at Mohegan Sun. Also some money at Foxwoods. He's
- 19:59Speaker 1: expected to plead guilty October 23rd and receive seven and
- 20:03Speaker 1: a half years in prison with five years probation.
- 20:06Speaker 2: He's a former, actually, Connecticut funeral director.
- 20:09Speaker 3: Now.
- 20:10Speaker 1: This is another one of those stories where the casinos
- 20:13Speaker 1: get it all.
- 20:14Speaker 2: But I want to tell you something.
- 20:16Speaker 1: In good faith, this casino has $ 1. 2 million documented of
- 20:21Speaker 1: people's money that they were paying for their prearrangements for
- 20:27Speaker 1: their funerals. I think in good faith, since they know
- 20:32Speaker 1: they profited this money... Wouldn't it be a good faith
- 20:35Speaker 1: thing for them to do is to.
- 20:36Speaker 2: Give back a portion or a lot?
- 20:38Speaker 1: These people are out. People saved their whole life. They
- 20:40Speaker 1: don't want the burden on their families. They paid for
- 20:43Speaker 1: their funeral expenses. Wouldn't it be a good gesture? Mohegan's son,
- 20:47Speaker 1: a million bucks is not a lot of money to you.
- 20:48Speaker 3: Yeah, that wouldn't be a lot to them. It would
- 20:51Speaker 3: be pretty good.
- 20:52Speaker 1: A million dollars. I don't know. Again, in the end,
- 20:58Speaker 1: these families paid about $ 9, 000. a family, this guy blew
- 21:04Speaker 1: all the money in the casino. It's not the casino's fault,
- 21:07Speaker 1: I understand. But I just think, in good faith, they
- 21:10Speaker 1: could have done something there.
- 21:12Speaker 2: Maybe they don't even know yet.
- 21:14Speaker 1: And maybe someone will tell one of the big investors
- 21:17Speaker 1: or someone in there and let them know something. I
- 21:20Speaker 1: don't know if we have any hope in that actually happening.
- 21:22Speaker 4: There's something weird in the world, isn't there?
- 21:26Speaker 1: All right, Randy, let's talk about you. I have a
- 21:29Speaker 1: guy that wanted to know your college place. He wasn't
- 21:32Speaker 1: going to be able to watch the show. He'll be
- 21:34Speaker 1: traveling tomorrow. But you said the FCS, nothing yet?
- 21:38Speaker 4: So my main thing in these first few weeks is
- 21:42Speaker 4: the FCS plays the FBS teams, you know, smaller college
- 21:46Speaker 4: versus the bigger college. So I focus on betting them
- 21:49Speaker 4: because I follow the Big Sky and the Missouri Valley conferences.
- 21:55Speaker 4: the two big FCS conferences and they usually do pretty
- 21:59Speaker 4: well against the big schools.
- 22:01Speaker 3: Unfortunately last week they didn't do as well as they
- 22:04Speaker 3: usually do. But now that that's over and they're playing.
- 22:08Speaker 4: Conference, I've got to wait until Thursday, Friday, Saturday even
- 22:12Speaker 4: for FCS to go against the FCS, them lines to
- 22:16Speaker 4: even come out.
- 22:17Speaker 3: There's very little market, if any.
- 22:20Speaker 4: For them games as of right now as Crack's scrolling
- 22:23Speaker 4: through his tablet there. There's very few lines there. And
- 22:28Speaker 4: these big schools aren't playing the small schools. There's a
- 22:31Speaker 4: few extra games, but they don't put a whole lot
- 22:33Speaker 4: of line on those either.
- 22:35Speaker 2: There's only Kalshi. Hard Rock, actually. I'm surprised Hard Rock's
- 22:40Speaker 2: got some lines out. FanDuel.
- 22:43Speaker 1: Also has some lines out right now.
- 22:44Speaker 3: Yeah, DK sometimes, but them are all kiosk situations.
- 22:48Speaker 4: You can't bet $ 100 maybe on their app if you're lucky.
- 22:53Speaker 1: Now you're talking about like Rhode Island versus North Carolina
- 22:55Speaker 1: A & T, that type of game.
- 22:56Speaker 3: Yeah, stuff like that.
- 22:58Speaker 1: 25 points, like those games, but there's only a couple
- 23:01Speaker 1: of them right now, so you really don't have, there's
- 23:04Speaker 1: not really a lot of lines out right now.
- 23:05Speaker 4: Yeah, like my home state team plays at Indiana State Sycamores,
- 23:09Speaker 4: you know, that I didn't even hardly see a line
- 23:11Speaker 4: on that game.
- 23:12Speaker 3: That could be a tough travel spot.
- 23:14Speaker 2: I'll look for that.
- 23:14Speaker 1: Is that like South Dakota State giving 34 and a
- 23:17Speaker 1: half to Eastern Illinois?
- 23:18Speaker 3: Yeah, they're going to be one of the best teams.
- 23:21Speaker 4: In fact, if they were to join North Dakota State
- 23:24Speaker 4: in the Mountain West, they would be right there as
- 23:27Speaker 4: one of the top teams.
- 23:28Speaker 1: Montana State, 21 and a half over Northern Arizona.
- 23:31Speaker 3: That's your team to win it all there. That's the
- 23:35Speaker 3: number one seed.
- 23:36Speaker 4: They struggled last week, though, and barely pulled the game off,
- 23:39Speaker 4: but they should have no trouble with the guys from Flagstaff.
- 23:43Speaker 2: What was the first game you mentioned?
- 23:45Speaker 3: North Dakota versus Indiana State, Sycamores.
- 23:49Speaker 2: North Dakota.
- 23:50Speaker 1: I don't see a line on that one yet, but
- 23:52Speaker 1: I'm sure it's there. Indiana State, I found it. FanDuel
- 23:56Speaker 1: has North Dakota minus 17.5 over Indiana State.
- 24:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 24:00Speaker 2: So it might be a little bit too early to
- 24:01Speaker 2: comment on that one now. It's amazing.
- 24:03Speaker 1: Kelschi has 14.5 minus 20, and yet they have 17.5.
- 24:07Speaker 1: But I don't know how much they allow in the bet.
- 24:09Speaker 4: Yeah, very low liquidity at Kelschi that I've noticed on
- 24:12Speaker 4: any of these. I do have a small Kelschi account,
- 24:15Speaker 4: but so far there hasn't been a whole lot of value.
- 24:19Speaker 2: Kelschi's legal in Arizona?
- 24:20Speaker 3: Yeah, it works in Arizona.
- 24:21Speaker 1: Works in Arizona.
- 24:22Speaker 2: What do you got in the NFL?
- 24:24Speaker 3: NFL, I got some really good plays and opinions.
- 24:27Speaker 2: Let's go.
- 24:27Speaker 3: Even from the show I was just on with Jim Feist.
- 24:30Speaker 2: Nice. Fire.
- 24:31Speaker 3: So Jim Feist, of course, he likes unders. He's on
- 24:34Speaker 3: a lot of unders.
- 24:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 24:35Speaker 2: That's him.
- 24:36Speaker 3: All right.
- 24:37Speaker 4: First play, we'll go. I'm against the Sharps here. We're
- 24:41Speaker 4: going to take the Jacksonville Jaguars. I think it went
- 24:45Speaker 4: back down to two.
- 24:45Speaker 3: And a half.
- 24:47Speaker 1: Jacksonville was two and a half at a couple sportsbooks
- 24:51Speaker 1: two days ago. You can lay 2.5, minus 15 right
- 24:54Speaker 1: here at circuit.
- 24:55Speaker 2: The best line in the country.
- 24:57Speaker 4: So I'm against some sharps there. They like New England
- 24:59Speaker 4: for some strange reasons, which.
- 25:01Speaker 3: I don't know of.
- 25:02Speaker 2: South point 2.5, minus 110.
- 25:04Speaker 4: Yep, that's where I got it. In fact, New England
- 25:08Speaker 4: still has a Super Bowl hangover, and Drake May doesn't
- 25:12Speaker 4: look like the same quarterback versus winning-type teams with tougher defenses.
- 25:17Speaker 4: Their offensive line is only number 15 in my rankings
- 25:21Speaker 4: and their front seven on defense is a little lower.
- 25:25Speaker 4: So their offensive line has been struggling and they're missing
- 25:28Speaker 4: a couple guys there and a running back and a
- 25:31Speaker 4: wide receiver. This is an early trip to Florida where
- 25:35Speaker 4: they usually struggle. Where I like this Jacksonville team, since
- 25:39Speaker 4: they got the coach last year, this Liam Cohen has
- 25:42Speaker 4: done a very good job with that quarterback Lawrence who
- 25:45Speaker 4: everybody thought was a bust until he got there. They've
- 25:48Speaker 4: been playing very well.
- 25:49Speaker 3: We were against them last week, and I think they
- 25:52Speaker 3: pull off the victory here.
- 25:53Speaker 1: Okay, minus 2.5, minus 15 here. Like I said, minus 2.5
- 25:58Speaker 1: over at South Point.
- 25:59Speaker 2: What else you got to bury everybody with?
- 26:01Speaker 3: All right, top game here.
- 26:02Speaker 2: You know I love saying that. Go ahead.
- 26:04Speaker 3: Same team we've had the last two weeks.
- 26:07Speaker 2: Oh, boy.
- 26:08Speaker 3: The New Orleans Saints.
- 26:09Speaker 2: Yeah, I knew he loved them, and you've done well
- 26:12Speaker 2: with them.
- 26:12Speaker 4: Saints come marching in again here.
- 26:14Speaker 1: The Saints come marching, well, the Saints go marching back
- 26:17Speaker 1: home versus the Raiders. Best line right here, by the way. Again,
- 26:22Speaker 1: minus three, minus 115. Minus three over at the south point.
- 26:26Speaker 3: So you got the Raiders.
- 26:27Speaker 4: This will be their first true road game because last
- 26:30Speaker 4: week was a home game in L.A. They had more
- 26:34Speaker 4: fans there than the Chargers did in a game that
- 26:36Speaker 4: took out a couple survivors of mine.
- 26:39Speaker 3: Maybe a couple years, I'm not sure.
- 26:41Speaker 4: But this is a spot I had picked out before
- 26:44Speaker 4: the season with Washington, but Washington I haven't bet yet
- 26:49Speaker 4: because of the quarterback change. So I had this picked
- 26:52Speaker 4: out because this is a sandwich spot for the Raiders.
- 26:56Speaker 3: They played the L.A.
- 26:57Speaker 4: Chargers last week, and then this following week they play
- 27:00Speaker 4: Kansas City. So they're number two conference opponents, division opponents.
- 27:06Speaker 4: And now they're playing a non-conference team on the road,
- 27:09Speaker 4: which is a very tough spot usually. And their offensive
- 27:13Speaker 4: line is weaker, so I expect having problems there, number 25.
- 27:19Speaker 4: And the Saints team has been struggling, but coming back,
- 27:24Speaker 4: and they got the money for us two weeks in
- 27:26Speaker 4: a row, and I expect them to get the victory
- 27:28Speaker 4: this week by more than three.
- 27:30Speaker 3: So put me on the New Orleans Saints.
- 27:33Speaker 2: All right.
- 27:35Speaker 1: Guys, again, Over here at Circa, minus 3, minus 15.
- 27:38Speaker 1: South Point, minus 3, minus $ 1. 10. It seems like, and
- 27:43Speaker 1: I'm going across the board with these picks of Randy's,
- 27:47Speaker 1: only the sharper sportsbooks here with them lines. I don't
- 27:51Speaker 1: always like to bet the sharper sportsbook with the line.
- 27:54Speaker 1: I don't like betting this. However, we don't know what
- 27:58Speaker 1: happens here when no one's really bet yet. So we'll
- 28:02Speaker 1: have to see by the time the weekend comes around.
- 28:03Speaker 2: What else do you have?
- 28:05Speaker 4: The Baltimore Ravens, a team I have struggled with in
- 28:09Speaker 4: the past, but they're playing a neutral site game in.
- 28:13Speaker 3: Rio de Janeiro.
- 28:14Speaker 1: You ever been to Rio de Janeiro?
- 28:15Speaker 3: You ever been there?
- 28:16Speaker 2: No, no interest in going either.
- 28:18Speaker 3: Well, maybe we might see the big... the big Jesus statue.
- 28:23Speaker 2: That's nice.
- 28:24Speaker 4: That would be kind of a neat thing to see,
- 28:26Speaker 4: but no desire to go there for football.
- 28:29Speaker 2: Yeah, for football. I guess that's what I meant.
- 28:30Speaker 3: Now that movie Blame It Unreal, that was a pretty
- 28:32Speaker 3: good movie.
- 28:33Speaker 1: Yes.
- 28:33Speaker 3: There you go, Randy. With the movie plug.
- 28:37Speaker 4: But they're saying their field conditions there, these fields end
- 28:41Speaker 4: up being pretty bad. So I'm going to take the
- 28:43Speaker 4: running team here with Baltimore with Jackson and Henry over
- 28:47Speaker 4: the passing team of Dallas. They played the same game twice.
- 28:51Speaker 4: Two years ago in Dallas, it was 28-25 finish. But
- 28:56Speaker 4: Dallas scored too late, come from behind TDs to make
- 29:00Speaker 4: this game even close. So I'm expecting Baltimore to get
- 29:03Speaker 4: out to a lead. Unfortunately, the last couple of years,
- 29:06Speaker 4: Baltimore blows these leads like they did last week and
- 29:10Speaker 4: blows the game. So hopefully this doesn't happen down there
- 29:13Speaker 4: in Brazil and we get the win here and the
- 29:16Speaker 4: cover with Baltimore.
- 29:17Speaker 2: I'm only laughing because.
- 29:20Speaker 1: The best line in the country is here. Again, there's
- 29:23Speaker 1: minus three, minus 20 at circa.
- 29:26Speaker 2: There is no other.
- 29:28Speaker 1: It opened up three flat, went to three and a
- 29:30Speaker 1: half everywhere in town. Minus three, minus 20 here.
- 29:34Speaker 2: Let me just look at the fan. Yeah, nothing.
- 29:37Speaker 1: This is it right here. So if you want to
- 29:39Speaker 1: bet it, you're making all three bets here or South Point.
- 29:43Speaker 1: Minus three, minus 20.
- 29:44Speaker 4: Which I have been doing a lot of betting with them.
- 29:47Speaker 4: I cross the border over here and got a good
- 29:50Speaker 4: spot there in Laughlin where I bet right from the vehicle.
- 29:54Speaker 1: Okay, you crossed the little bridge there in Kingman?
- 29:58Speaker 3: Don Laughlin Bridge.
- 29:59Speaker 2: Oh, Don Laughlin Bridge. That's right.
- 30:01Speaker 1: And you crossed there. And how is that geofan... When
- 30:03Speaker 1: you get over there, do they know you're in Nevada
- 30:05Speaker 1: and Laughlin?
- 30:06Speaker 3: Yeah, a mile or two, they're right there.
- 30:08Speaker 4: Some casinos, it comes through pretty good, and some you
- 30:11Speaker 4: have to go back and.
- 30:12Speaker 3: Forth with it.
- 30:13Speaker 2: Okay, toggle around. You got anything else?
- 30:15Speaker 4: I got a late kind of ad here, and I
- 30:18Speaker 4: was going to bet this game at 4.5, but then
- 30:21Speaker 4: they announced a backup quarterback... has a concussion for the
- 30:25Speaker 4: Bears here. So I haven't pulled the trigger on it.
- 30:29Speaker 4: If they put Bajan back in there, which I don't know,
- 30:32Speaker 4: it might be Case Keenum. I don't know what Case
- 30:34Speaker 4: Keenum has left in his career. He's been a decent quarterback,
- 30:39Speaker 4: but I like this Bajan kid. If he plays, I'll
- 30:43Speaker 4: be on the Bears Monday night, but that's just a
- 30:46Speaker 4: wait and see for me as far as Monday night
- 30:48Speaker 4: football goes because a lot of the sharps like the
- 30:51Speaker 4: Eagles here, even though the Bears dominated them last year
- 30:55Speaker 4: on Thanksgiving, ran up and down them, which they might
- 30:58Speaker 4: do this game too at home.
- 31:01Speaker 3: Off the bad performance against the Minnesota Vikings.
- 31:05Speaker 1: Mostly four and a half's out there, plus four and
- 31:07Speaker 1: a half, minus 05, FanDuel, DraftKings, plus five at Fanatics,
- 31:13Speaker 1: plus five at Rivers, some places that we're not allowed
- 31:16Speaker 1: to play.
- 31:17Speaker 2: Immediately call the gaming police. They're trying to win. Stop
- 31:20Speaker 2: those guys. How about this? Your best line.
- 31:22Speaker 3: Rivers was real good to me the first couple years.
- 31:25Speaker 2: They were?
- 31:25Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 31:26Speaker 2: How are they to you now?
- 31:28Speaker 1: That's all we want to know, buddy.
- 31:31Speaker 2: Hard rock right now. Five and a half.
- 31:33Speaker 3: Okay.
- 31:34Speaker 2: Hard rock plus five and a half.
- 31:35Speaker 1: But this is only a play if the third string
- 31:38Speaker 1: quarterback starts.
- 31:40Speaker 3: Actually, the second string guy is Bajan. The third string
- 31:43Speaker 3: guy is Keenum.
- 31:44Speaker 2: Third string Keenum, okay.
- 31:45Speaker 4: Which it sounds like it's going to be Keenum, so
- 31:47Speaker 4: maybe it's not a bet for me and more of
- 31:49Speaker 4: an in-game situation.
- 31:50Speaker 2: Okay.
- 31:51Speaker 3: Hard Rock can be very good.
- 31:52Speaker 1: That's right. Keenum has got, they said he's going to
- 31:55Speaker 1: probably be out, right?
- 31:57Speaker 4: And a little note to our viewers, Hard Rock is
- 31:59Speaker 4: very good if you're in the state of Florida about limits.
- 32:02Speaker 1: Right.
- 32:02Speaker 3: If you're in these other states where their app is,
- 32:05Speaker 3: you don't get the good limits for very long.
- 32:07Speaker 2: Oh, that's the way that they work?
- 32:09Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm surprised it's that way, but that's the way
- 32:11Speaker 3: they've been operating.
- 32:13Speaker 1: Okay, so you've got a couple plays now. Where are
- 32:15Speaker 1: you going to be next week, Randy?
- 32:18Speaker 4: Next week I'll probably be back in Arizona unless I
- 32:21Speaker 4: make a trip up here.
- 32:22Speaker 2: I just wanted to Google here.
- 32:23Speaker 1: So Caleb Williams week to week with a hamstring injury.
- 32:28Speaker 1: Backup Tyson Badgett is in the concussion protocol.
- 32:32Speaker 2: That's what I meant to say, actually.
- 32:33Speaker 1: And leaving Case Keenum probably the starting quarterback. Yeah.
- 32:38Speaker 2: All right, well, good.
- 32:39Speaker 1: I wanted to get a couple things out of you here.
- 32:41Speaker 1: So next week we'll probably have you on via the
- 32:44Speaker 1: computer like we do most of the weeks. But whenever
- 32:47Speaker 1: Randy's in town, we like to bring him on. Thank
- 32:49Speaker 1: you guys for liking, subscribing, your comments, and thanks for
- 32:52Speaker 1: coming in. We'll see you next week on Wisecrack.
- 32:54Speaker 3: Good luck, everyone.
