- 0:10Speaker 1: Well, I mean, first we have to let these people
- 0:12Speaker 1: know about this important movie threat. And this one has
- 0:16Speaker 1: been going on for a while. Because I keep, I'll
- 0:18Speaker 1: always pick something else sort of semi-related. And then I'll
- 0:21Speaker 1: go back and look at the things I've got. And
- 0:23Speaker 1: I'm like, oh man, I keep forgetting to do that one.
- 0:25Speaker 1: Because this one is maybe the most frightening one on
- 0:28Speaker 1: our potential scary list.
- 0:31Speaker 2: So, our movie threat of the episode is.
- 0:35Speaker 1: Worm. Oh.
- 0:37Speaker 3: Wait, hold on.
- 0:38Speaker 1: What's that say? Worm.
- 0:40Speaker 2: What the hell? Yeah, read that.
- 0:41Speaker 4: Go ahead. Where their worm dieth hot and their life
- 0:47Speaker 4: is not.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Oh, their fire is not quenched.
- 0:50Speaker 1: Okay.
- 0:50Speaker 2: That's on the front of the packaging. That's the tagline.
- 0:54Speaker 1: Yeah, there's your catchy tagline that's going to win people over.
- 0:58Speaker 2: Now, let's imagine what the back is going to say.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Because that's the thing.
- 1:04Speaker 1: I looked at it and was like, what the hell
- 1:05Speaker 1: is this weird-ass indie movie?
- 1:07Speaker 2: And then you get to the back... It's got this
- 1:11Speaker 2: goofy picture of this guy, and it says, Adam knows. Yes,
- 1:15Speaker 2: he knows.
- 1:17Speaker 1: He was a high school kid that thought he had
- 1:19Speaker 1: all the answers.
- 1:20Speaker 2: Cool friends, girlfriend, but no time for the Lord. Oh.
- 1:25Speaker 2: I was like, oh, shit. Like, this is for real frightening.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Then he died and went to hell. That'll happen, yeah.
- 1:35Speaker 2: Is hell real? Ask Adam. He knows. I can't. He's dead.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Even hell.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Worm will make everyone think about their own eternity.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Did Kirk Cameron have anything to do with this movie?
- 1:47Speaker 1: I don't see him on here, but yeah, here's... You looked,
- 1:49Speaker 1: didn't you? Here's Adam, in case you need to know
- 1:51Speaker 1: what Adam looks like.
- 1:52Speaker 2: He does not look like a movie star. Adam knows.
- 1:54Speaker 2: He looks like he's a cool kid who's got it all.
- 1:56Speaker 2: He's got it all, except time for the Lord.
- 1:59Speaker 4: Well, I mean, there's only so many hours in the day.
- 2:04Speaker 1: We're pretty open-minded about our crappy movies that we watch
- 2:07Speaker 1: but i don't know religious horror.
- 2:09Speaker 2: Is gonna be a whole nother level yeah i don't think.
- 2:11Speaker 5: I've ever heard of like i mean really christian yeah
- 2:14Speaker 5: i mean there's like the conjuring and stuff that's kind
- 2:17Speaker 5: of but.
- 2:18Speaker 1: Those are like a lot of religious horror hollywood people
- 2:21Speaker 1: using religion in their movie to tell their story like
- 2:24Speaker 1: the exorcist is like all kinds of religion in quotes
- 2:27Speaker 1: but like He could care less about winning people over
- 2:30Speaker 1: to the Bible. He's just there to make use of
- 2:34Speaker 1: the power of Christ compels you. You make use of
- 2:37Speaker 1: religion for your horror. Usually, you're not trying to swing
- 2:41Speaker 1: people to your side.
- 2:42Speaker 5: The evangelical Christian horror.
- 2:44Speaker 1: I feel like Adam here is going to try to
- 2:47Speaker 1: get you on the side of the Lord.
- 2:51Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know.
- 2:52Speaker 1: That one seems pretty scary. If you really want to
- 2:56Speaker 1: force us to watch... Worm, which also the title is
- 3:00Speaker 1: a grabber. Yeah, go ahead and put that on the list.
- 3:03Speaker 4: Yeah, but apparently there's like 50 movies called Worm.
- 3:07Speaker 2: Is it Worm or The Worm? I think this one's
- 3:09Speaker 2: just Worm. Yeah, it looks terrible.
- 3:14Speaker 1: And again, in this red tag that's on the front
- 3:18Speaker 1: of it there, I'm pretty sure it says 69 cents.
- 3:21Speaker 2: They can't give it away at 69 cents. Because you'll
- 3:25Speaker 2: notice I just took a picture of it. Well, I
- 3:26Speaker 2: wouldn't buy in that shit.
- 3:27Speaker 4: Apparently, you can go on YouTube and watch the entire
- 3:31Speaker 4: movie and it's only 30 minutes long.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:34Speaker 5: Okay.
- 3:35Speaker 2: So this might be doable. That's not too bad.
- 3:38Speaker 5: You say that now.
- 3:38Speaker 1: Yeah, I was going to say, I feel like I
- 3:39Speaker 1: watched the trailer back when I first took that.
- 3:42Speaker 2: I was like, what the hell is this?
- 3:43Speaker 1: I went and found that and was like, oh, this
- 3:46Speaker 1: looks bad. Like just filmmaking standpoint is usually the worst
- 3:50Speaker 1: for me. Like.
- 3:51Speaker 2: Regardless of what.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Message you're trying to put out there, I can't stand
- 3:54Speaker 1: when you just can't shoot things or light properly or
- 3:57Speaker 1: that gets on my nerves more than anything. It's just
- 3:59Speaker 1: bad filmmaking. So take your message and go get a
- 4:03Speaker 1: real budget. So anyway, if you'd like us to watch
- 4:08Speaker 1: something better than Worm, please join the Meltdown Horror Club
- 4:12Speaker 1: and give us a title to put on our list
- 4:15Speaker 1: that's Much better than Worm Room or any of the
- 4:18Speaker 1: Worm knockoffs that Phillip is pulling up here.
- 4:20Speaker 4: I am playing the movie right now on the YouTube
- 4:24Speaker 4: and I fast forwarded through the beginning of the movie,
- 4:28Speaker 4: went about two and a half minutes in, still on
- 4:30Speaker 4: the same shot of a woman standing in a door.
- 4:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:34Speaker 1: Sounds like a winner. Now, in this last two minutes
- 4:38Speaker 1: that you scan through, do you feel a little more
- 4:41Speaker 1: called by the Lord?
- 4:42Speaker 4: Not at all.
- 4:43Speaker 2: Oh, okay. Well, it's not doing its job.
- 4:45Speaker 4: But I am confused because did you say on the
- 4:48Speaker 4: back of the packaging he had a steady girl?
- 4:50Speaker 2: Did I hear that? Let me go through this again.
- 4:53Speaker 2: Let's see.
- 4:53Speaker 5: I believe it was good friends and a girlfriend.
- 4:56Speaker 2: Yeah, it says cool friends. Cool friends. Girlfriend. Girlfriend.
- 5:01Speaker 4: No, I'm pretty sure that means girlfriend because I'm looking
- 5:06Speaker 4: at a scene right now where he is sitting in
- 5:08Speaker 4: a church pew and with a young man and there
- 5:11Speaker 4: is a really strong gay vibe going on. Which, hey,
- 5:15Speaker 4: I'm cool with it, you know, but it does not
- 5:17Speaker 4: seem to add up to the rest of them.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Yeah, that doesn't usually get approved by most religious people, so...
- 5:24Speaker 1: I know there are some sections that are cool with it,
- 5:27Speaker 1: but not most, I feel like.
- 5:29Speaker 2: I don't know, I steer clear of most religion at
- 5:31Speaker 2: this point, so.
- 5:34Speaker 2: Anyway... Look at that, back me up here. There's... I mean.
- 5:40Speaker 5: They're just cool friends.
- 5:42Speaker 2: Yeah, cool friends.
- 5:43Speaker 4: Yeah, and, you know, cool friends who.
- 5:44Speaker 5: Do cool friend stuff.
- 5:46Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:46Speaker 5: Kissing sometimes.
- 5:47Speaker 2: There you go, yeah.
- 5:49Speaker 4: They're just waiting for a break in the sermon so
- 5:51Speaker 4: they can sneak out.
- 5:52Speaker 2: You gotta... And hey, again, before.
- 5:55Speaker 4: You send in your complaints, totally cool with it.
- 5:58Speaker 1: You gotta have something to do at youth group.
- 6:02Speaker 2: Anyway.
- 6:03Speaker 3: Where were we?
- 6:05Speaker 4: Come up with a better movie to watch totally derailed
- 6:07Speaker 4: on a movie we haven't even seen and.
- 6:09Speaker 1: Yeah otherwise we'll have to watch worms so and then
- 6:13Speaker 1: it won't be as good as what we did this
- 6:15Speaker 1: week where you'll hear us say amazing things like this
- 6:19Speaker 1: because i'm watching it going i kind of feel like
- 6:21Speaker 1: i know what this movie is not yeah is there
- 6:25Speaker 1: any twist and turn or is it just Yep, there
- 6:27Speaker 1: you go.
- 6:28Speaker 2: That's what we assumed was going on.
- 6:30Speaker 5: It was pretty much what I was expecting. So if
- 6:33Speaker 5: everybody else is on the same brain length as I am,
- 6:36Speaker 5: then yes. I just watched it like a few months
- 6:40Speaker 5: ago for the first time.
- 6:41Speaker 4: Jamie Lee Curtis is in two movies that feature a
- 6:44Speaker 4: train full of people in costumes.
- 6:46Speaker 2: But was it? Wait, what's the other one?
- 6:48Speaker 4: Training Places.
- 6:48Speaker 2: That's true, actually. I forgot about that. If it's someone
- 6:53Speaker 2: in their like 70s. would be like, it's Dracula, I'm
- 6:56Speaker 2: pretty sure. But normal people would be like, what's a
- 6:59Speaker 2: wicker man?
- 7:02Speaker 1: So that was my Christmas gift.
- 7:05Speaker 2: It's beautiful. It says a lot about me.
- 7:09Speaker 4: It's amazing. It's basically a lot like a Japanese version
- 7:13Speaker 4: of Squid Games, except it... No, it's exactly like Squid Games,
- 7:18Speaker 4: now that.
- 7:19Speaker 2: I think about it.
- 7:21Speaker 1: It's nothing but weird bird sounds and he specifically did
- 7:24Speaker 1: that because it's unnerving after a while yeah see I
- 7:27Speaker 1: never like noticed that before because he did.
- 7:30Speaker 2: A great job because he's a freaking genius it is
- 7:34Speaker 2: everywhere like it is rare that I.
- 7:36Speaker 1: Have seen anything get this much like exposure like and
- 7:40Speaker 1: I don't think it's a bad thing like i just
- 7:43Speaker 1: it's weird because they're really pushing it movies that well
- 7:45Speaker 1: i mean not even just the pushing it but like
- 7:47Speaker 1: people just talking about it just like constant references online
- 7:52Speaker 1: tons of stuff on tv but not even like ads
- 7:55Speaker 1: just like people on shows and they're like anybody they
- 7:58Speaker 1: have in the cast they're just like we gotta talk
- 8:00Speaker 1: about this and i'm like i don't remember any movie
- 8:04Speaker 1: in quite a long time like i got this much
- 8:07Speaker 1: like just general attention from anything.
- 8:10Speaker 5: I i've seen like yeah screenshots from that movie and
- 8:16Speaker 5: they're it's nightmarish.
- 8:18Speaker 6: The characters are unnerving on their own but the ridiculous
- 8:24Speaker 6: thing is when you watch it i forgot how little
- 8:30Speaker 6: there is to that movie oh yeah it's like three
- 8:32Speaker 6: or four scenes essentially like they're extended.
- 8:36Speaker 1: But, like, there's just a couple of scenarios and a
- 8:39Speaker 1: bunch of craziness.
- 8:40Speaker 2: And, like, that's pretty much it. Like, I kept waiting for, like, oh,
- 8:45Speaker 2: and then the bigger plot. No, there really isn't a
- 8:48Speaker 2: bigger plot. There's nothing going on. And then at the end,
- 8:50Speaker 2: it's like, did we resolve anything? Do we even know
- 8:53Speaker 2: what happened to half these people? Not really.
- 8:55Speaker 5: No.
- 8:57Speaker 2: It just doesn't seem like any of this is worth
- 8:59Speaker 2: your time and effort. Yeah. Now, I was going to say,
- 9:02Speaker 2: are we talking about within the game or us sitting
- 9:05Speaker 2: at home? Because yes is the answer to that too.
- 9:09Speaker 5: The lance guy was like the most cartoonish.
- 9:13Speaker 2: The most bad.
- 9:15Speaker 5: Guy i was like what is his accent what is
- 9:17Speaker 5: this he.
- 9:18Speaker 4: May as well had a top.
- 9:19Speaker 2: Hat yes he was so just like that might have
- 9:23Speaker 2: been interesting.
- 9:24Speaker 5: Obtusely bad he's just like i just hang around and
- 9:27Speaker 5: tell you you'll never make it out of here i'm
- 9:29Speaker 5: like who talks like that well i'm not.
- 9:31Speaker 1: Even like following a path like It's like, what's the
- 9:35Speaker 1: worst thing you could say to anything I'm going to
- 9:37Speaker 1: say right now? And, like, she would say something about
- 9:40Speaker 1: an entirely different thing. And he'd be like, huh, wait
- 9:43Speaker 1: a minute.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Let me think of the douchiest thing I can say
- 9:45Speaker 2: in response to that. Like, because it wouldn't, like, he
- 9:48Speaker 2: would change things.
- 9:49Speaker 6: Like, okay, I'm going to kick you guys out on
- 9:51Speaker 6: the street because I'm your landlord or whatever.
- 9:54Speaker 2: He wasn't really.
- 9:55Speaker 1: He's like the building manager or whatever I am.
- 9:59Speaker 2: I'm going to kick you out. And then later he's like,
- 10:01Speaker 2: I'm going to hook up with your mom. Like, what?
- 10:04Speaker 2: Those are two different things. Like, how do you?
- 10:06Speaker 1: I don't.
- 10:06Speaker 2: What are you?
- 10:07Speaker 3: So now you're a drug dealer, but now you're the landlord.
- 10:10Speaker 3: And now you're my mom's boyfriend that I hate. He
- 10:13Speaker 3: was just like, insert random douchebag behavior. We didn't feel
- 10:18Speaker 3: like writing three different characters. We're just going to make
- 10:20Speaker 3: this one guy really suck.
- 10:23Speaker 2: Those two were insane.
- 10:25Speaker 1: Like they just had enough money and power for a
- 10:28Speaker 1: span of 10 to 12 years to get what they made,
- 10:31Speaker 1: what they wanted made, no matter how ridiculous it is.
- 10:35Speaker 1: And they had no problem buying properties that weren't even theirs.
- 10:38Speaker 5: Like, I did think they made a good choice in
- 10:41Speaker 5: that scene to not show the rat.
- 10:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:44Speaker 5: I thought that was, again, glad they did that.
- 10:46Speaker 1: That could have been a way to do this where
- 10:49Speaker 1: it's like, it's, it's more creepy that you're imagining it
- 10:52Speaker 1: with your cheesy little graphics that what you're listening to
- 10:56Speaker 1: the horror actually happened.
- 10:57Speaker 2: So I'm like, that could be a really good way
- 10:59Speaker 2: to do this. And we don't always get that.
- 11:03Speaker 4: When it got, when it got to that scene, I
- 11:06Speaker 4: was like, Who are these people? And I'd totally forgotten
- 11:11Speaker 4: about the first five minutes. And it was only when
- 11:16Speaker 4: you see the scar on the mom's face. I'm like, oh,
- 11:18Speaker 4: that must be the, oh, I don't care.
- 11:22Speaker 2: He just starts to outlive everyone else in his life. Like,
- 11:26Speaker 2: that's disturbing.
- 11:27Speaker 3: Oh, no.
- 11:28Speaker 2: That's disturbing. Because he's cursed to be undead.
- 11:33Speaker 1: He is. He's Dracula, so he'll live forever and everyone
- 11:36Speaker 1: around him dies.
- 11:38Speaker 2: Have fun, kids! Towards the end, he's like, I collect
- 11:43Speaker 2: stuff from the 80s. I collect things again, which is
- 11:46Speaker 2: the whole.
- 11:46Speaker 4: So that should be a warning to us that stuff
- 11:49Speaker 4: from the 80s is probably cursed.
- 11:53Speaker 5: Yeah, they were the only ones that I actually wanted
- 11:55Speaker 5: to know what happened.
- 11:56Speaker 2: There was at least something going on there. I don't
- 11:57Speaker 2: know what happened. And then we get nothing. The way
- 12:00Speaker 2: that it's presented is kind of dumb and wouldn't work.
- 12:04Speaker 5: She does even at one point.
- 12:05Speaker 2: I'm saying kind of.
- 12:07Speaker 4: Everyone listening to this right now who hasn't picked a
- 12:11Speaker 4: movie for us to watch, screw you.
- 12:14Speaker 5: Choose a movie for us or you die.
- 12:16Speaker 2: There we go. That having been said, please join our Patreon.
- 12:25Speaker 5: Join for as low as $ 2.
- 12:29Speaker 1: So, go to MovieMountain.com, click on the link that'll take
- 12:33Speaker 1: you to join the Horror Club and come up with
- 12:35Speaker 1: a much better movie than Worm. It can't be hard.
- 12:40Speaker 2: I may watch that tonight. I might actually... You've learned
- 12:43Speaker 2: nothing from this. These are like public service announcements. Whatever
- 12:49Speaker 2: you do, kids, don't watch Worm. You have not learned anything.
- 12:54Speaker 4: I just want to see how they stretch that into
- 12:56Speaker 4: 30 minutes.
- 12:58Speaker 2: That same shot for 30 seconds.
- 13:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 13:02Speaker 2: They call me Dr.
- 13:03Speaker 5: Worm.
- 13:05Speaker 2: Good morning, how are you?
- 13:07Speaker 5: I'm Dr. Worm.
- 13:09Speaker 2: I'm interested in things. I'm not a real doctor, but
- 13:14Speaker 2: I am a real worm. I am an actual worm.
- 13:20Speaker 6: I live like a worm.
- 13:23Speaker 2: I like to play the drums.
- 13:26Speaker 3: I think I'm getting good, but I.
