- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to Bill Handle on demand from KF I
- 0:04Speaker 1: am six forty.
- 0:10Speaker 2: God, I hate diet pepsi. I go to a restaurant
- 0:13Speaker 2: and you ask for diet coke.
- 0:15Speaker 1: Can I have a diet coke? Please? That's sort of
- 0:16Speaker 1: become a generics like kleenex. Can I have a diet coke? Plice?
- 0:20Speaker 2: We don't have diet coke? Is diet pepsi?
- 0:23Speaker 1: Okay? And I always say, is monopoly money? Okay? And
- 0:27Speaker 1: now handle on the news, ladies and gentlemen. Here's Bill Handle.
- 0:48Speaker 1: There we go. Good morning, everybody.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Handle here and the morning crew, the full morning crew
- 0:53Speaker 2: on our Thursday, October twenty three. How long were we
- 0:56Speaker 2: playing music, by the way, because I didn't have programming
- 0:58Speaker 2: coming into my EARBA and a half dates. All right, excellent, Uh,
- 1:03Speaker 2: all right, as we move on. Okay, morning Carno, Hey Bill?
- 1:08Speaker 1: All right?
- 1:09Speaker 2: Uh?
- 1:09Speaker 1: And uh Amy.
- 1:11Speaker 3: Hi Bill, how are you all right?
- 1:12Speaker 1: I'm okay.
- 1:13Speaker 2: You're gonna watch a Dodger game tomorrow? Of course you will,
- 1:17Speaker 2: and I'm sure will will also, right.
- 1:19Speaker 1: I will, well you will? Yes, all right? Absolutely, good morning,
- 1:23Speaker 1: and An is back.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Uh and uh, let me see it's no that is
- 1:27Speaker 2: not a Dodger Jersey or is it no? I know
- 1:33Speaker 2: the blue anyway, Yeah, that's true. Anne was not here yesterday.
- 1:38Speaker 2: She was dealing with her dog, who will now have
- 1:42Speaker 2: a very high squeaky bark.
- 1:45Speaker 1: Is that correct, baby? Yeah, nope, the nuts are gone. God,
- 1:51Speaker 1: the ballless dog.
- 1:53Speaker 4: Oh my gosh, that was that was the vows that
- 1:56Speaker 4: Handle's new wife.
- 2:00Speaker 1: Absolutely right. She has a seventy.
- 2:01Speaker 2: Five pound dog. And I asked Dan if she kept
- 2:05Speaker 2: the yards in a jar of form aldehyde like we
- 2:09Speaker 2: have at home, because Lindsay's nuts, so to speak. And
- 2:14Speaker 2: there they are.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Is that where yours are too?
- 2:18Speaker 2: No, mar Mine is in a jar that since we
- 2:21Speaker 2: don't have a mantle. Now they're on a they're in
- 2:25Speaker 2: a kitchen cabinet. Nice that Lindsay occasionally takes down and
- 2:30Speaker 2: goes you see.
- 2:31Speaker 1: Okay, what else is going on? Oh?
- 2:36Speaker 2: I was talking to Neil yesterday and also to Michelle,
- 2:42Speaker 2: and we're putting together now the auction items for pastathon,
- 2:47Speaker 2: which is coming up when I think December two something
- 2:51Speaker 2: like that are I don't.
- 2:53Speaker 1: Know, November December.
- 2:57Speaker 2: December second and this is number fifteen, I guess us.
- 3:00Speaker 2: And we're putting together something. Uh that we've never done before.
- 3:05Speaker 2: And it's usual. The uh, the it's it's the usual,
- 3:10Speaker 2: you know John for an hour with him broadcasting, and
- 3:15Speaker 2: it is cool. I'm not saying it's not. That's why
- 3:17Speaker 2: they keep on repeating it because it's a huge success
- 3:20Speaker 2: every year. Uh. And Gary and Shannon with a baseball game.
- 3:24Speaker 1: That's always a huge as a huge uh.
- 3:27Speaker 2: And then you have Tim Conway with a hockey game. Yeah, yeah,
- 3:32Speaker 2: that is yes, hugely successful.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Mine not so much.
- 3:37Speaker 2: Uh.
- 3:37Speaker 1: We don't need to do anything.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Uh yeah, I don't do much. Uh, I would. I
- 3:42Speaker 2: was auctioned off. Dinner was auctioned off for me the
- 3:45Speaker 2: other night at the uh the gala for the Katerina's Club,
- 3:52Speaker 2: same same charity, the Katerina's Club charity. And uh, they're
- 3:56Speaker 2: the only thing I asked for.
- 3:57Speaker 1: Oh I got dogs coming in Hi got boy?
- 4:01Speaker 2: Okay anyway, So I was a dinner was auctioned off
- 4:07Speaker 2: with me, and literally I begged people to at least
- 4:13Speaker 2: bid enough money to cover the cost of dinner. That's
- 4:18Speaker 2: all I wanted is to do so I wouldn't be
- 4:20Speaker 2: hugely embarrassed.
- 4:23Speaker 1: So it worked out.
- 4:24Speaker 2: Okay, So with that in mind, and Neil we're trying
- 4:27Speaker 2: to get the dates together on this.
- 4:29Speaker 4: So I recommended that handle auction off a pasta thong.
- 4:36Speaker 1: And we'll get that and I'll make it, Neil will
- 4:40Speaker 1: make it.
- 4:41Speaker 2: I think that is absolutely hilarious. But here's what we're
- 4:44Speaker 2: putting together. And this we've never done before. Neil and
- 4:47Speaker 2: I have been talking about a broadcast at my house.
- 4:51Speaker 1: We were going to We're going to do a grilling broadcast.
- 4:54Speaker 2: Neil was going to sort of teach me and bring
- 4:57Speaker 2: in chefs whatever. We're going to broadcast it at my place,
- 5:01Speaker 2: and it was going to do various meats. And I
- 5:04Speaker 2: have the Big Green Egg and I have a regular barbecue,
- 5:07Speaker 2: and we're going to do sort of a seminar, a
- 5:09Speaker 2: primer on how to.
- 5:12Speaker 1: Fash barbecue, home back barbecue. So anyway we're going to
- 5:16Speaker 1: do that.
- 5:16Speaker 2: We will be broadcasting and we're going to auction off
- 5:20Speaker 2: some money. Party of two coming to my house as
- 5:25Speaker 2: our guests to bed. I know I've never don that
- 5:29Speaker 2: a listener. I know home the last time he did
- 5:32Speaker 2: that he married her. That's true. That's a very good point. Also,
- 5:39Speaker 2: you might even get married to Bill.
- 5:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:42Speaker 2: So and also we're bringing Savile is donating a a
- 5:47Speaker 2: seventeen set, very high end set of knives retailer twenty
- 5:53Speaker 2: two hundred bucks. That's going to be part of it too,
- 5:55Speaker 2: And I mean we're going to have insane and insane
- 5:59Speaker 2: auction item.
- 6:00Speaker 1: All you need to do is pay for the tariffs
- 6:02Speaker 1: and they're yours. That's true. Break Yeah, it's gonna be
- 6:06Speaker 1: gonna go broke.
- 6:06Speaker 3: They are They at one hundred and fifty percent.
- 6:09Speaker 2: I don't know from China there. I don't know what
- 6:11Speaker 2: last because we bring this stuff in from Chinaboy. Yeah,
- 6:14Speaker 2: it's about one hundred, well one hundred and thirty percent now,
- 6:18Speaker 2: I mean crazy, it's gone one hundred and eighty seven percent.
- 6:20Speaker 2: It's gone for It went down to thirty percent for
- 6:24Speaker 2: five minutes, then it went over one hundred percent. I
- 6:28Speaker 2: mean it bounces, I mean literally from morning to afternoon.
- 6:31Speaker 2: So anyways, I'm very excited about doing that.
- 6:33Speaker 1: I'll see if I can get us a green egg
- 6:35Speaker 1: to give away too. That would be huge.
- 6:37Speaker 2: Oh my god, can you imagine that? Well, that would
- 6:39Speaker 2: be a separate item. I think maybe no, why not
- 6:42Speaker 2: throw it all? That's a big shebang you mean ask
- 6:46Speaker 2: for I mean throw in a green egg?
- 6:47Speaker 1: Throw in. Oh my god, can you wild fork steaks?
- 6:51Speaker 2: Come on now, hey, let me do you think we're
- 6:53Speaker 2: gonna get as much money as Gary and Shannon at.
- 6:56Speaker 1: A baseball game.
- 6:57Speaker 2: By the way, these things raised thousands of dollars for
- 7:00Speaker 2: Catarina's Club.
- 7:01Speaker 1: I mean it's no Josey pardon.
- 7:03Speaker 2: You realize it's yeah, yeah, you know, people are really yeah,
- 7:07Speaker 2: people are really good about it. Be really good about it.
- 7:10Speaker 2: So anyway, I've will they ride the elevator? Uh, that's extra. Okay,
- 7:17Speaker 2: that's extra. We'll be selling tickets for the elevator ride.
- 7:21Speaker 2: Thank you Neil for bringing that up, because you always do.
- 7:24Speaker 2: And why don't you go screw yourself? What do you think?
- 7:27Speaker 1: Huh? God? If I could, it wouldn't be Yeah, okay,
- 7:30Speaker 1: there you go. What all right, enough of that.
- 7:35Speaker 2: As we're putting all that together, Okay, we're gonna do it.
- 7:40Speaker 1: Let's do it.
- 7:40Speaker 2: It's time for news with Amy Me and Neil, and
- 7:45Speaker 2: it's lead story. I came in. Yeah, that east wing
- 7:55Speaker 2: of the old White House is really going east, as
- 7:58Speaker 2: in way east, disappearing and the president very weird thing
- 8:04Speaker 2: going on here.
- 8:05Speaker 1: He wanted to put that ninety thousand.
- 8:08Speaker 2: Square foot ballroom, which was going to change the entire
- 8:12Speaker 2: footprint of the White House is done next to the
- 8:16Speaker 2: East wing. As he said, I'm not going to touch
- 8:19Speaker 2: the building. I'm going to put it right next to it. Well,
- 8:22Speaker 2: he's right, I didn't touch the building. They're demolishing the building,
- 8:26Speaker 2: demolishing the east wing, and in place putting up that ballroom.
- 8:31Speaker 2: And when asked, but wait a second, you said you
- 8:34Speaker 2: weren't going to touch these way. Yeah, this is better,
- 8:37Speaker 2: this is cheaper, more effective, and we're going to put
- 8:40Speaker 2: this one up ninety thousand square feet. You know, I
- 8:44Speaker 2: understand the President Trump because that's his style. Now, it's
- 8:48Speaker 2: going to be ornate, it's gonna it's going to look
- 8:50Speaker 2: like a ballroom at Bar a Lago, really gold, et cetera.
- 8:54Speaker 2: And I understand him. I expect that from him. Mike
- 8:57Speaker 2: Johnson in his press conference said it's going to be magnificent.
- 9:02Speaker 2: It's going to be wonderful. It's the best of the bestest.
- 9:05Speaker 2: It's the tippy topest of all of the ballrooms you'll
- 9:08Speaker 2: ever see in your life. I mean, he could not
- 9:11Speaker 2: stop just kissing Trump's ass when it comes to that
- 9:14Speaker 2: sort of thing.
- 9:15Speaker 1: Anyway, He's got a lot of a lot.
- 9:16Speaker 2: Of blowback on this one, and it's always changing the
- 9:20Speaker 2: view of the White House. Later on, I'm going to
- 9:22Speaker 2: do a story on that, which is when when.
- 9:25Speaker 1: Am I going to do that? Oh? The shaft seven o'clock.
- 9:29Speaker 2: The five major changes that President Trump so far has
- 9:33Speaker 2: made at the White House, And I'm not talking about
- 9:35Speaker 2: political I'm talking about the five physical major changes that
- 9:39Speaker 2: have happened so far and were what nine months in?
- 9:44Speaker 4: Didn't what wasn't it reported that he called it a
- 9:46Speaker 4: dump when he first was president.
- 9:48Speaker 2: I don't know something that he said. I don't remember
- 9:53Speaker 2: dirtie and yeah he said it wasn't he this timer,
- 9:57Speaker 2: I said, it's not very big, and no one really
- 9:59Speaker 2: cares about it very much. Now to his point, it's
- 10:03Speaker 2: been remodeled several times. There's no question about it. The
- 10:07Speaker 2: White House has been remodeled. But now, according to law,
- 10:12Speaker 2: before making any major renovation of the White House, that
- 10:16Speaker 2: has to go through this historical I think it's a
- 10:20Speaker 2: panel of architecture historians. He's bypassed that completely. Boom, just
- 10:26Speaker 2: did it completely? No?
- 10:29Speaker 1: No, he no, he did say hello to yes. All right?
- 10:35Speaker 3: Not playing so nice with Putin anymore? President Trump said,
- 10:39Speaker 3: every time I speak to Vladimir, I have a good
- 10:41Speaker 3: conversation with him, and then they don't go anywhere. Well,
- 10:44Speaker 3: now the US is sanctioning Russian oil companies after talks
- 10:50Speaker 3: between Putin and Trump were called off. The economic impact
- 10:54Speaker 3: is likely to be minimal, but it does represent a
- 10:57Speaker 3: pretty big shift in Trump's foreign policy. Previously, he said
- 11:00Speaker 3: he wouldn't impose sanctions until European nations stopped buying Russian
- 11:05Speaker 3: oil the Kremlin or Kremlin said Russia was immune to
- 11:09Speaker 3: any sanctions.
- 11:10Speaker 1: Well immune to this one.
- 11:12Speaker 2: If you can get the world to not buy Russian oil,
- 11:16Speaker 2: then Russia is looking at some pretty serious sanctions that
- 11:20Speaker 2: have effect. But do you think President Trump has figured
- 11:23Speaker 2: out yet that Putin is playing him talks the game.
- 11:28Speaker 1: Yes, yes, I want peace.
- 11:30Speaker 2: Oh yes, we have to sit down, but we first
- 11:32Speaker 2: have to come to the root causes. Root causes is
- 11:36Speaker 2: a euphemism for that's our land in Ukraine, and we wanted.
- 11:41Speaker 1: One, would hope, But I'm not sure.
- 11:43Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't think you're going to see much much
- 11:46Speaker 2: moving until Zelensky is prepared to give up eastern Ukraine
- 11:53Speaker 2: third of the country.
- 11:54Speaker 4: All right, quick programming note heads up. Tim Conway Junior
- 11:58Speaker 4: is on for John Kobelt today because his show will
- 12:00Speaker 4: be preempted at four with the Chargers game.
- 12:05Speaker 1: Both up.
- 12:06Speaker 4: All right, Pentagon, it has a new boot licking right
- 12:11Speaker 4: wing press corps after the media walk out. Now, you
- 12:15Speaker 4: remember eighteen or you had a kind of a huge
- 12:20Speaker 4: walkout of all these press press folks that left because
- 12:28Speaker 4: of the restrictive press policy the Defense Department announced. So
- 12:33Speaker 4: you had sixty people from various news organizations, represent broad spectrum,
- 12:38Speaker 4: as Handle pointed out before, you had right wing outlets,
- 12:42Speaker 4: left wing outlets.
- 12:43Speaker 1: All of these that walked out said this is not
- 12:45Speaker 1: freedom of the press.
- 12:47Speaker 4: Well, now you've got this lineup of absolutely what I
- 12:53Speaker 4: would referred to as fringe.
- 12:55Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely right wing netcase fringe. And we'll talk about
- 12:58Speaker 2: that more at seven fifty because it is wild. And
- 13:03Speaker 2: this is where you know, one of the things this
- 13:05Speaker 2: administration does is just look at you straight in the
- 13:08Speaker 2: eye and just lie, straight out lie, saying things like
- 13:15Speaker 2: right now, it's the ones that don't have left. The
- 13:19Speaker 2: Pentagon Press corps are left wing media outlets that don't
- 13:26Speaker 2: tell you the truth and it's biased. Hey, Fox and
- 13:31Speaker 2: Newsmax walked out how left wing is Fox?
- 13:35Speaker 1: Well more left wing than Lyndell TV.
- 13:40Speaker 2: Yeah, they're They're Lindell TV, which they also offer pillows
- 13:45Speaker 2: to anybody walking in the door. What about only on
- 13:47Speaker 2: Tuesday Morning eight Red Slate. Yes, another, Well, and we're
- 13:52Speaker 2: not talking influencers, people that have podcasts. Okay, we'll talk
- 13:57Speaker 2: more about that coming up at seven fifty.
- 14:00Speaker 1: Where's the Beef?
- 14:02Speaker 3: US ranchers are raising concerns about President Trump's plan to
- 14:06Speaker 3: import beef from Argentina. President Trump said in a social
- 14:11Speaker 3: media post that American cattle ranchers have to get their
- 14:14Speaker 3: prices down, and he also said that the tarifsies enactor
- 14:17Speaker 3: are the only reason they're doing so well for the
- 14:19Speaker 3: first time in decades. The president's comments come during increasing
- 14:24Speaker 3: concerns from American farmers about the negative impact that the
- 14:28Speaker 3: trade war with China is having on their ability to
- 14:31Speaker 3: sell their crops, and then his comments Monday that the
- 14:34Speaker 3: US could buy beef from Argentina because the US prices
- 14:38Speaker 3: are so high.
- 14:39Speaker 1: Yeah, now that's interesting.
- 14:40Speaker 2: You wants to protect the farmers in this case, the
- 14:43Speaker 2: cattle industry, which is in a lot of trouble because
- 14:46Speaker 2: prices are so high that the demand is relatively low.
- 14:51Speaker 2: I mean, they're losing their shirts and the answer is
- 14:56Speaker 2: to buy beef from Argentina. That's what's going to look
- 15:00Speaker 2: lower prices boy or the cattle farmers happy campers on
- 15:02Speaker 2: that one. So you know, it's going back and forth
- 15:07Speaker 2: with the tariffs that effect well, part of the tariffs
- 15:10Speaker 2: issue is with China. It used to be the biggest,
- 15:14Speaker 2: the biggest amount of agriculture that sold to China with soybeans.
- 15:20Speaker 1: That the US farmer produced.
- 15:22Speaker 2: China has gone from this enormous importer of soybeans to
- 15:26Speaker 2: they're not buying a soybean, not one from the United States.
- 15:32Speaker 2: And farmers are reeling on this. So the President has
- 15:35Speaker 2: to deal with that and is talking about bailing out
- 15:38Speaker 2: the farmers who also are in deep, deep.
- 15:41Speaker 1: Trouble and losing their farms.
- 15:43Speaker 2: It's really complicated stuff and you sort of there's no
- 15:46Speaker 2: win on this one unless you get rid of the tariffs,
- 15:50Speaker 2: which used to deal with our economy in a much
- 15:54Speaker 2: bro a broader way. But Trump is right the tariffs.
- 15:59Speaker 2: We buy more than we sell and the balance of
- 16:02Speaker 2: trade was not good. So no easy answer there, not
- 16:05Speaker 2: at all all right.
- 16:08Speaker 4: The new citizenship test that is rolling out from the
- 16:12Speaker 4: Trump administration. Remember back on September eighteenth, they announced that
- 16:16Speaker 4: the new twenty twenty five Naturalization Civics test was going
- 16:21Speaker 4: to be more difficult. Applicants must correctly answer twelve of
- 16:26Speaker 4: twenty oral questions in order to pass. But some are
- 16:30Speaker 4: saying most are saying that this is an incredibly difficult test.
- 16:33Speaker 4: If you remember, I've had friends that have become citizens,
- 16:37Speaker 4: and when they show me the test or tell me
- 16:40Speaker 4: about the test, I think it'd probably be difficult for
- 16:42Speaker 4: most Americans to actually pass it. And this one's supposed
- 16:46Speaker 4: to be much harder than that. And some say that
- 16:49Speaker 4: this is just another in a line of deliberate, systematic career.
- 16:53Speaker 1: Have you have you seen the current test.
- 16:57Speaker 2: It's a beaute It asks for or the entire Constitution,
- 17:02Speaker 2: all twenty sixth Amendments backwards.
- 17:07Speaker 1: It's like a sobriety test.
- 17:10Speaker 4: And then they ask which is the most important yes,
- 17:14Speaker 4: And if you don't say the second, you're out yes.
- 17:18Speaker 2: And if you misinterpret, for example, I think it's either
- 17:22Speaker 2: the twenty third Amendment before that, well after that, the
- 17:26Speaker 2: poll tax, if you mistake it for not letting people
- 17:32Speaker 2: of Polish descent vote. They have to be taxed, and
- 17:36Speaker 2: you have it wrong.
- 17:37Speaker 1: You're done. I was a stretch. Who was the best president?
- 17:41Speaker 4: Fill in here, Yes, it's our It's like empty t
- 17:47Speaker 4: blank you mp all.
- 17:52Speaker 1: Right, bringing in the big guns. You heard it? Obama Obama.
- 17:55Speaker 3: Former President Obama is urging voters to back the California
- 18:01Speaker 3: Democrats redistricting efforts known as Proposition fifty. He held a
- 18:06Speaker 3: virtual event with Governor Newsom yesterday. He framed the proposed
- 18:11Speaker 3: constitutional amendment as a way to counter President Trump's efforts
- 18:16Speaker 3: to skew the midterm elections in the Republicans favor.
- 18:20Speaker 1: The ads for a Prop fifty.
- 18:22Speaker 2: I don't understand the pro Prop fifty people, I really don't,
- 18:26Speaker 2: and that is it's all about Texas and other states redistricting,
- 18:31Speaker 2: you know, to make more Republican seats, and they're ignoring
- 18:34Speaker 2: that the pro Prop fifty. They're coming up with who's
- 18:37Speaker 2: backing it and billionaires and all that. It's come on,
- 18:41Speaker 2: that's it. It's all about that, and hopefully we understand
- 18:44Speaker 2: that because if Texas is going to do it, we
- 18:46Speaker 2: have to fight it.
- 18:49Speaker 1: Now. I am not a.
- 18:50Speaker 2: Fan of redistricting for the purpose of creating districts. I
- 18:55Speaker 2: am a fan of independent commissions doing the redistricting like
- 18:59Speaker 2: we have in California, but southern states you're saying, no, nope,
- 19:04Speaker 2: We're going to make sure that we put as many
- 19:06Speaker 2: Republicans into Congress as possible.
- 19:09Speaker 1: Oh, I love this.
- 19:12Speaker 4: If you remember, back in May, President Donald Trump signed
- 19:15Speaker 4: an executive order and basically it was aimed to slash
- 19:19Speaker 4: public subsidies to PBS and MPR, alleging they were biased.
- 19:25Speaker 4: So PBS, good for them. They PBS so cal announced
- 19:30Speaker 4: the huge telethon. So they got a bunch of variety
- 19:32Speaker 4: of hosts and actors and musicians. They're going to celebrate
- 19:36Speaker 4: fifty five years in public television with Josh Grobin, Jamie
- 19:40Speaker 4: Lee Curtis, Siggy Marley, Lily Tomlin and.
- 19:44Speaker 1: Just as acid roster of people.
- 19:48Speaker 4: We love public television is the name of the telethon,
- 19:52Speaker 4: and it's all to raise money.
- 19:54Speaker 2: And yeah, now you can't do it without really serious
- 19:58Speaker 2: public donations. It's always been that way. Now it's without
- 20:03Speaker 2: a huge influx.
- 20:04Speaker 1: I think pbi's going to disappear. Oh, they'll get the money,
- 20:10Speaker 1: I think. So they're going to raise up fair amount
- 20:11Speaker 1: of money, right, they'll get the money.
- 20:13Speaker 3: Governor Gavin is deploying the National Guard not to San Francisco,
- 20:20Speaker 3: but to food banks. He says he's going to deploy
- 20:24Speaker 3: the California National Guard and state volunteers on a humanitarian
- 20:27Speaker 3: mission to food banks because of the ongoing federal government shutdown.
- 20:31Speaker 3: He says the National Guard will not be acting as
- 20:33Speaker 3: law enforcement, but will instead be supporting food banks. The
- 20:37Speaker 3: National Guard did something similar during the COVID nineteen pandemic.
- 20:42Speaker 2: Yeah, notice how many fat guys in the National Guard.
- 20:45Speaker 2: Because the food banks actually feed the people that are
- 20:50Speaker 2: there that also didn't work.
- 20:52Speaker 1: It's a rough morning, guys, not for us. Oh okay,
- 20:56Speaker 1: one last moving last story.
- 20:59Speaker 4: Great all the hubbub which I still don't understand about
- 21:03Speaker 4: the Super Bowl halftime headline performer, of course being Bad Bunny.
- 21:08Speaker 4: While the NFL came out and said, listen, we use
- 21:11Speaker 4: careful thought every single time we pick you know, someone
- 21:16Speaker 4: for our halftime show, and every year somebody's got some
- 21:21Speaker 4: concern with it, and we're not going to drop it
- 21:23Speaker 4: with We're moving forward.
- 21:24Speaker 1: This is what we decided.
- 21:26Speaker 2: And President Trump has a problem with it. He uh
- 21:30Speaker 2: does not like Bad Bunny, I think because number one.
- 21:32Speaker 2: He speaks in Spanish, so I think that's the big one.
- 21:35Speaker 2: And he has threatened to deport bad Bunny.
- 21:38Speaker 1: Why he's an American citizen. That's incredental. That doesn't matter.
- 21:45Speaker 2: If yeah, if President Trump took the new immigration test
- 21:49Speaker 2: and asked that question, is Puerto Rico an American territory?
- 21:54Speaker 2: Are you part of the United States? The answer is,
- 21:57Speaker 2: of course, uh no, case bad Bunny. You know, at
- 22:02Speaker 2: some point the administration can't get involved in everything, have
- 22:06Speaker 2: an opinion about everything, and it does. I mean, I
- 22:08Speaker 2: just think this, yeah, I just this is so different
- 22:11Speaker 2: than any administration we've ever had. I mean, it's you know,
- 22:15Speaker 2: people are reeling in terms of what's going on.
- 22:19Speaker 1: But you know, here's my point.
- 22:21Speaker 2: Many times I've said this, President Trump has never had
- 22:25Speaker 2: a hidden agenda. He has never said I am going
- 22:29Speaker 2: to to do A and he out turns around and
- 22:32Speaker 2: does b.
- 22:33Speaker 1: He says I'm going to do A. He's elected and
- 22:36Speaker 1: he does A.
- 22:38Speaker 2: And I don't know why I'm upset about it, because
- 22:41Speaker 2: I think a lot of it are crazy. I didn't
- 22:43Speaker 2: vote for Trump. I also didn't vote for Kamala Harris. Again,
- 22:46Speaker 2: it's one of those I voted for everything else except
- 22:49Speaker 2: for the presidential and hey, quid Benching, you know it's
- 22:55Speaker 2: you know you elected him both in the popular as
- 22:57Speaker 2: well as the electoral college. Hold on, all right, I'm
- 23:02Speaker 2: sorry a look at me. I'm not I'm just helping
- 23:05Speaker 2: you for him. Yeah, but a lot of people did.
- 23:09Speaker 2: More people voted for him than did not.
- 23:12Speaker 3: Keeping you Healthy Sure costs a lot to the cost
- 23:15Speaker 3: of employer sponsored health insurance has gone up for the
- 23:17Speaker 3: third year in a row. It's now approaching an average
- 23:20Speaker 3: of almost twenty seven thousand dollars for a family plan.
- 23:24Speaker 3: Family premiums are up about six percent. That's over fourteen
- 23:27Speaker 3: hundred dollars from last year and more than double the
- 23:29Speaker 3: rate of inflation. On average, workers are contributing sixty eight
- 23:34Speaker 3: hundred and fifty dollars annually to the cost of family coverage,
- 23:37Speaker 3: with employers paying the rest.
- 23:40Speaker 2: Yeah, we don't want national health, do we single payer?
- 23:43Speaker 2: That's impossible, because we'll just keep on going the way
- 23:46Speaker 2: we're knowing, all.
- 23:49Speaker 1: Right, tit meat for tat for tat, meet tit.
- 23:53Speaker 4: North Carolina lawmakers past a new map designed to give
- 23:57Speaker 4: GOP an extra House seats. So this is where the stupidity.
- 24:01Speaker 4: Where we're at right now, everybody's going to do this
- 24:04Speaker 4: because nobody's willing to put their foot down and say
- 24:06Speaker 4: no to it. State House on Wednesday approved the map
- 24:10Speaker 4: could give Republicans an additional US House seat in North Carolina.
- 24:15Speaker 2: California, we in a proposition put our foot down and
- 24:18Speaker 2: said enough of this, uh, political, moral.
- 24:22Speaker 4: And stupid, and we're not going to play. We're going
- 24:25Speaker 4: to continue down the path of leaving it to an
- 24:27Speaker 4: independent group and not caught fifty.
- 24:31Speaker 2: Prop fifty turns out right around and gets rid of
- 24:35Speaker 2: the independent group.
- 24:36Speaker 1: Someone else is going to do it, and and the
- 24:38Speaker 1: California legislature is going to do it.
- 24:40Speaker 4: When they originally said this is going to an independent party,
- 24:44Speaker 4: it's that.
- 24:45Speaker 2: That's the law right now, that's the law in California,
- 24:48Speaker 2: and it is unbiased. And you have the other states
- 24:51Speaker 2: that are biased through the nose and California saying if
- 24:55Speaker 2: you guys are going to do it, we're going to
- 24:56Speaker 2: do it. We're going to get rid of it. Bid Well,
- 24:59Speaker 2: if it was started in Texas and the.
- 25:03Speaker 1: Only one was it, no I started before then.
- 25:05Speaker 2: Yeah, when the Gerryman started by the states, New Mexico
- 25:09Speaker 2: did it, it's done, it's been done.
- 25:12Speaker 1: It's stupid. And California put their foot down said we're
- 25:14Speaker 1: not going. Okay, sorry to ask you this. So let
- 25:16Speaker 1: me ask you. Let me let me ask you this.
- 25:19Speaker 2: We keep the independent commission, and we don't change our
- 25:24Speaker 2: congressional makeup.
- 25:25Speaker 1: We keep it the way it is.
- 25:27Speaker 2: While Texas and North Carolina and all of these other
- 25:31Speaker 2: states that don't have independent commissions change their congressional districts
- 25:36Speaker 2: mid stream. Usually it's done at the end of the
- 25:39Speaker 2: census and they add Republican seats. Does California just sit
- 25:45Speaker 2: back and say, Okay, we're fine with another dozen or
- 25:48Speaker 2: fifteen Republican seats.
- 25:49Speaker 1: Pardon, California cannot be any more Democrat.
- 25:54Speaker 2: It can add two seats, it can add five seats
- 25:57Speaker 2: that are Republicans.
- 25:59Speaker 3: So the other thing that happens here bill is that
- 26:02Speaker 3: other states are going to keep doing it. So California,
- 26:05Speaker 3: even if they pass it, they're going to spend more
- 26:06Speaker 3: than two hundred million dollars on the selection and more
- 26:09Speaker 3: Republican controlled states can change. So it's going to be
- 26:13Speaker 3: all for not anyway.
- 26:15Speaker 2: It's not going to be all for not because you
- 26:17Speaker 2: have the Republican states that are going to be voting
- 26:20Speaker 2: more Republican congress people, which is going to enlarge the
- 26:24Speaker 2: Republican majority in Congress.
- 26:27Speaker 3: Right, But I'm saying California's efforts aren't going to make
- 26:30Speaker 3: a difference. Because he does it, more Republican states.
- 26:33Speaker 2: Are I will No, Well, they're good anyway, whether California
- 26:37Speaker 2: does it or not. All the Republican states want to
- 26:40Speaker 2: put more Republicans.
- 26:41Speaker 1: They want to put more.
- 26:42Speaker 2: Republicans in Congress, want to put more Democrats in fighting
- 26:47Speaker 2: what the Republicans are doing that.
- 26:49Speaker 4: They don't want more Democrats in there just because they're Democrats.
- 26:53Speaker 1: You're talking about the Republican states. No, I'm saying that.
- 26:56Speaker 1: Of course, every side want more of their side, you know.
- 27:00Speaker 1: But it start It started with Democrats. Don't do this, Stuffy.
- 27:05Speaker 2: But the Democrats don't do it and they don't fight it, Neil,
- 27:08Speaker 2: then Republicans are going to win and they're going to.
- 27:11Speaker 1: Get more seats. Fight it.
- 27:13Speaker 4: We did fight it in California by making an independent
- 27:19Speaker 4: arm that makes the decision. And now we're going backwards.
- 27:22Speaker 2: That's that's right, we're going backwards fighting the Republican I'm
- 27:27Speaker 2: telling you the Democrats by doing it. I know, but
- 27:30Speaker 2: they did it first.
- 27:31Speaker 1: It's wrong. If half the country wants.
- 27:33Speaker 2: It, Okay, that's all right, then we'll just have more Republicans. Okay,
- 27:37Speaker 2: the majority just increases, and all right, if you're okay
- 27:41Speaker 2: with that. Where they do it, California doesn't do it.
- 27:44Speaker 2: And so, as Gavin Newsom said, they're coming out with
- 27:48Speaker 2: weapons guns and we're fighting them with knives.
- 27:51Speaker 4: All right, fair enough, you're learning that that the Second
- 27:54Speaker 4: Amendment is important.
- 27:56Speaker 1: Oh come on, Neil, Come on, Neil, please imagine man
- 28:01Speaker 1: like a bunch of Neil. Don't bring in California. California
- 28:05Speaker 1: is reacting, uh to what's going on.
- 28:08Speaker 4: And okay, then Texas was reacting to the fact that
- 28:11Speaker 4: there's no no Texas.
- 28:14Speaker 1: Texas was not reacting.
- 28:15Speaker 2: They they were in the fight and wanted to put
- 28:18Speaker 2: Republicans in and California reacted to that.
- 28:22Speaker 1: Why can't you understand, Neil, that.
- 28:25Speaker 4: There were dollions of dollars to back up what was
- 28:27Speaker 4: already voted on bill.
- 28:30Speaker 1: I love that for one.
- 28:32Speaker 2: Hey, that thing I hate that. I hated that thirteenth Amendment.
- 28:36Speaker 2: I really did, because Congress voted for that one.
- 28:39Speaker 1: Well, let's go ahead and knock it off. Let's go
- 28:42Speaker 1: ahead and take it out. We can, Neil, we can.
- 28:45Speaker 1: You know, would be constitutional amendment.
- 28:47Speaker 3: Do a constitutional amendment and make all these districts not not.
- 28:51Speaker 3: I would love Republican I were a Democrat because I'm ridiculous.
- 28:54Speaker 2: I would love I would love that Silan.
- 28:58Speaker 1: I just take a let's take a break. We'll be back.
- 29:00Speaker 1: Kf I am sixty. You've been listening to the Bill
