- 0:00I'm glad you're not reading this one.
- 0:04Oh my god.
- 0:05Okay, I'm scared.
- 0:06Okay.
- 0:07I'm not usually like this.
- 0:10I know.
- 0:11I love it.
- 0:13I pointed up and was like, I love that scary decoration of the man hanging from the banister.
- 0:20We both gasped.
- 0:23Probably just like that.
- 0:24Hi, Caitlyn.
- 0:31Hi, Cassie.
- 0:33Hi, creepy people.
- 0:35Hello.
- 0:36If you're new to our creepy little corner of the world, this is little PNW Haunts and Homicides.
- 0:51Everything's little today.
- 0:53Where we chat about true crime, a little paranormal, little stories of little things, little spooky
- 1:00stuff, creepy stuff, little and big stuff in the Pacific Northwest.
- 1:06You know, PNW, if you're nasty.
- 1:10And we know but you're nasty because you came here because you're here.
- 1:15If you're not nasty, you might want to step out.
- 1:18You may have chosen the wrong locale.
- 1:25We also do a tarot reading at the end of every episode for a little bit of deeper insight
- 1:30into our topic.
- 1:32Sometimes an oracle reading, I think that's what we might do today.
- 1:35Oh, really?
- 1:36I want to play with a mushroom oracle deck that you got me.
- 1:39Ooh, that does seem fitting.
- 1:41Yeah.
- 1:42I think so.
- 1:43Okay.
- 1:44I like to do oracle for creepy people chronicles.
- 1:47The CPC, which is what this is.
- 1:50I'm so excited.
- 1:53We got some stories, y'all.
- 1:55We got actually multiple, multiple.
- 1:58Yes.
- 1:59And this person DM'd and said, "I'm really sorry if Caitlyn accidentally reads this email.
- 2:09Be for you guys.
- 2:10Talk about it on the show."
- 2:12There was a lot of warnings.
- 2:14You missed all of the red flags, then I don't know what to say.
- 2:18I know.
- 2:19I was like, I didn't miss it in the subject line.
- 2:21And even if I was curious, I feel like there were probably more warnings in the email itself.
- 2:31They did their due diligence.
- 2:32They DM'd us too though.
- 2:34They were like, "Really though?
- 2:35I've got.
- 2:36I've got to stop her."
- 2:37That's so cute.
- 2:38I know.
- 2:39I love it.
- 2:41So I assume we do a permission to read it on air.
- 2:45I haven't read the email.
- 2:47Well, me neither.
- 2:48So I guess we'll find out.
- 2:49Yes, we're going to find out.
- 2:50If you email us, okay, I guess we'll decide from the title.
- 2:54But before we go into that story that we got emailed to us at
- 2:59pnwhauntsandhomicides@gmail.com.
- 3:03I have a story.
- 3:05I had the best morning ever.
- 3:08Yeah.
- 3:09Where were you, Cassie?
- 3:10I was at the cemetery.
- 3:12I went to Lone Fir Cemetery, which we've talked about episodes back.
- 3:18Yeah.
- 3:19I don't know how many.
- 3:20Number.
- 3:21Shhhhh.
- 3:23That one.
- 3:24We'll probably link it.
- 3:25So anyway, I went to Lone Fir because I've just, I've never been.
- 3:29I've been wanting to go forever, like forever and ever.
- 3:32It looks really pretty.
- 3:34Like why I live in the area.
- 3:37Why I haven't.
- 3:38I live in the area.
- 3:40In the area.
- 3:41Thereabouts.
- 3:42Anyway, I've never gone.
- 3:44So I went to help clean headstones.
- 3:47So they do in the summertime.
- 3:49They do headstone cleaning workshops.
- 3:52It's like every couple of Saturdays.
- 3:56I don't know the schedule, but it's on the website.
- 3:59This is the only one I could make because Saturdays are recording day.
- 4:04And it's just hard to get out and do things.
- 4:06We had a bunch of shit to do.
- 4:08So we have so much shit to do.
- 4:10And the next one, yeah, we won't, I won't be able to make it either.
- 4:14We won't be able to make it.
- 4:15And that's the last one for the season.
- 4:17So if you want to go, go look up.
- 4:18There's one more in September.
- 4:20I learned all about it.
- 4:21It's not that hard.
- 4:22You just like pour a bunch of water on and gently scrub.
- 4:26So I cleaned like three little ground ones and then two bigger, bigger ones.
- 4:32Okay.
- 4:33Like sure, is if anyone wants them, I mean, personally, each one of you individually.
- 4:40I mean, I feel like some of those might make it into the socials for sure.
- 4:46Yeah.
- 4:47So after we were done cleaning, I did talk to the head volunteer.
- 4:53I think she does like most of the communications.
- 4:56She said that she could probably get someone to come on the podcast and talk to us about
- 5:02things.
- 5:03Really?
- 5:04Yeah.
- 5:05Because I definitely, I like to verify my information.
- 5:08Hell yeah.
- 5:09I did pretty much get all of my information from like a loan for type site.
- 5:14Yeah.
- 5:15So I think everything was good except for one thing we'll talk about.
- 5:18Oh, I'm not sure.
- 5:20Okay.
- 5:21I should have listened to the episode and like reviewed it.
- 5:24Yeah.
- 5:25So after we're done, I wanted to go naturally check out all the headstones that we talked
- 5:30about.
- 5:31So I went and found- [Loud Boom] oh, it's God it's thunder.
- 5:35And we're going to have a thunderstorm today.
- 5:37It was just a come later.
- 5:40That's real.
- 5:41That was terrifying.
- 5:42Yeah, that's real.
- 5:43I'm really glad that I was.
- 5:46It was really close.
- 5:47It was really close.
- 5:48It was really close.
- 5:49It was really close.
- 5:50It was really close.
- 5:51It was really close.
- 5:52It was really close.
- 5:53It was really close.
- 5:54It was really close.
- 5:55It was really close.
- 5:56I bet the microphones picked that up.
- 5:58Oh my God.
- 5:59I saw your face.
- 6:00Yeah, that was really close.
- 6:03Oh my God.
- 6:04That was like when we were in McMinnville for the batch.
- 6:08Oh yeah.
- 6:09Well, it looks like it's lasting a couple hours now.
- 6:12So I'm glad I kind of, how do I get so calm in these situations?
- 6:16It'll just add to the drama of the episode.
- 6:20Yeah, I feel like if you couldn't see my face, you'd probably think that I was just normal.
- 6:27I think it's, it's my face.
- 6:29Your face just gives it away.
- 6:31You know, some people have resting bitch face and mine just has like zero chill face.
- 6:36You know what I mean?
- 6:38Like every thought, every feeling, it's just like, wow.
- 6:42I'm interested to see my face because I don't, I feel like I didn't have a reaction, but
- 6:47I might have.
- 6:48I think I jumped a little bit.
- 6:49I don't know.
- 6:50I think that's why I immediately look to you because I think sometimes I'm like, well
- 6:54I don't trust myself because I'm a hot dummy.
- 6:58But I go and I'm like looking around like, did anybody else hear that?
- 7:02What was that?
- 7:03Did you do that too?
- 7:04Was that just me?
- 7:05Should I be scared?
- 7:06And you're just like, you, honestly, I think your face was like, I thought, I don't know
- 7:12if she heard that.
- 7:13Was that just in my head?
- 7:15Okay, well, at least now I know I'm not like hallucinating, lightening and thunder.
- 7:23Yeah, no, you're not unless I am too.
- 7:27And also the weather app.
- 7:28Oh, I shared hallucination though.
- 7:30That would be cool.
- 7:32I'm glad I kept an eye on the weather because I was going to clean headstones, even though
- 7:39I would have gotten in the rain.
- 7:40But, and I think, ooh, thunder storms tonight.
- 7:43So that's the only reason it was already in my brain as like thunder storms were coming
- 7:47today.
- 7:48Wow.
- 7:49And they just came all early.
- 7:51Yeah.
- 7:52Okay, nature.
- 7:53Can I get through my fucking story?
- 7:55This was supposed to be quick.
- 7:56No, both man and nature are against you.
- 8:00Seriously.
- 8:01Hi, where even was I?
- 8:05Who knows?
- 8:06So I wanted to walk around and look at all the headstones.
- 8:09It's not like a huge cemetery, but it's pretty good size.
- 8:11I sang a little, a couple steps in today.
- 8:14Good, get your steps.
- 8:16So I went and looked at the very creepy one of the husband and wife who were carved into
- 8:23the, do you need a refresher?
- 8:26Oh, I sent it to you.
- 8:27It was the one I took a selfie with and sent it to earlier.
- 8:30I think I just was like, oh, look, Cassie, so cute.
- 8:33I'll show you the kind of far one.
- 8:35Remember those guys?
- 8:36Oh, yes.
- 8:38Yes, I do.
- 8:40I don't know why, but that is just so creepy to me.
- 8:47Like, it's actually very sweet and it's objectively kind of cute, but it's also really,
- 8:54it's really creepy.
- 8:55It's creepy cute.
- 8:56It's creepy cute.
- 8:57I think we said that in the original episode, maybe.
- 9:01Probably.
- 9:02Yeah.
- 9:03That is Elizabeth and James Stevens.
- 9:07And oh, they have the cool quote on the back of like, we're here, we like here by consent.
- 9:13And we were like, we need enthusiastic consent.
- 9:16Oh, that's right.
- 9:17I do remember that.
- 9:19Yeah.
- 9:20Okay.
- 9:21And they use the word sojourning.
- 9:23Yeah.
- 9:24I love it.
- 9:25It's so.
- 9:26If you're curious about the quote, go listen to the original episode.
- 9:29That's right.
- 9:30So I visited them.
- 9:31I went to Emore Stevens, which was like the first person buried there.
- 9:38He's right next to them.
- 9:40Wow.
- 9:41I went to the Macleay, um, mausoleum, the big castle-y looking one.
- 9:48I saw the Hawthorne monument.
- 9:52Wow.
- 9:53That's my mind is blown.
- 9:55I know we talked about this.
- 9:57And I've probably seen a lot of these pictures, not your pictures, but some exactly not your
- 10:04pictures.
- 10:06But those are just like they're, I mean, they're really, they're just remarkable.
- 10:13I mean, it's just like, it's mind blowing to me.
- 10:16I don't know why.
- 10:17And it's kind of sad because they're all falling apart.
- 10:20Like the Bottler brothers, they found theirs and it's still not.
- 10:24Oh my gosh.
- 10:25They got together from the roof caving in.
- 10:27And then so the one I really wanted to see was Ada.
- 10:31Or if you remember, she was the angel statue that I could stole it.
- 10:37And I can't remember if I had said they found it and returned it or if it was still in storage
- 10:43because I think it was still in storage.
- 10:46Okay.
- 10:47And it was not there and it made me so sad.
- 10:51So this is a little a das.
- 10:54There's only a foot of the angel left.
- 10:56Oh.
- 10:57I got people sad.
- 11:00Barely read her name.
- 11:03Like this is all zoomed in.
- 11:07And we weren't in that area cleaning stones really.
- 11:10And I didn't know where it was.
- 11:11I went and found it afterwards.
- 11:13But I really want to go back and like a roll scrub down.
- 11:18Yeah.
- 11:19But like the angels went there.
- 11:21It's so sad.
- 11:22Yeah.
- 11:23And then I found play ball, Julius Caesar's.
- 11:26Oh my God.
- 11:27The head stuff.
- 11:28Wow.
- 11:29His looks like it's in pretty good shape.
- 11:32I think it was cleaned recently.
- 11:33Okay.
- 11:34I feel like maybe someone can spider-tick her of it.
- 11:37I don't know.
- 11:38They have a little rose garden there with like bird baths and stuff.
- 11:42Oh, that's cute.
- 11:45And super interesting.
- 11:46So I had my ghost tube on while I was walking around.
- 11:50And I had went to the look at the roses and stuff and then I went and found a das.
- 11:57And then when I was walking away, like leaving and the ghost tube said rose.
- 12:03And I was like, oh, yeah, I was just over at the roses.
- 12:06And then it fucking said like angel and play with me.
- 12:11And I was like, no shit.
- 12:13I really got the chills.
- 12:16I have the chills right now.
- 12:18And then I was walking away and I was like, okay, I'm leaving.
- 12:21And it said goodbye.
- 12:23And then it said don't leave.
- 12:27And I was like, okay, and then that's kind of what reminded me to like say, okay, you have
- 12:31to stay here.
- 12:32And we'll come back and visit everyone's stay behind the gates.
- 12:36Like do not follow me home.
- 12:38I just like, I felt bad.
- 12:42So the next time maybe I want to spend a little more time there.
- 12:46I don't know maybe bring some toys or something and hang out with her.
- 12:52Anyone want to go with me?
- 12:54It's like a park.
- 12:59Like a picnic.
- 13:00It's a park for dead people.
- 13:04I know you won't go.
- 13:06Oh god.
- 13:07No, I don't know what it is.
- 13:08But I have always, like from a very, very young age, I have always been very uneasy if not
- 13:19truly.
- 13:20Yeah.
- 13:21It runs the gamut.
- 13:22Sometimes I'm truly terrified.
- 13:23We talk about it.
- 13:24I think because you can like feel the things.
- 13:26Yeah.
- 13:27Yeah.
- 13:28Whereas I can like kind of block it out.
- 13:29So it makes sense.
- 13:30It makes sense.
- 13:31We've talked about it.
- 13:32You're too thirsty.
- 13:33I'm not the only one who enjoys cemeteries.
- 13:37Okay.
- 13:38Because I met someone famous.
- 13:42I met the squirrel guy, Rando.
- 13:45He said he's the famous squirrel guy of Lone Fir Cemetery.
- 13:50Stop it.
- 13:51He was sitting there.
- 13:52He has friends.
- 13:53He like names them.
- 13:54He brings little peanuts and they know him.
- 13:57They come running to him.
- 14:00He's like, they're my best friends.
- 14:02He has crow friends too.
- 14:04I'm just like, bro, this is where I'm headed.
- 14:07I'm going to be the squirrel guy, Rando at the cemetery someday.
- 14:13I love that.
- 14:15I know it was very sweet.
- 14:17I bothered him for a little bit.
- 14:19He told me some stories and told me about him just loving to sit there and hang in there
- 14:25and squirrels and how this place is so peaceful.
- 14:27And I agree with you.
- 14:29I love it here.
- 14:30Doing squirrel guy stuff.
- 14:32Yeah.
- 14:33So that was cool.
- 14:34I also met someone who was doing the cleaning of the stones.
- 14:37Do I think her name was Victoria?
- 14:39If I have that wrong, I apologize.
- 14:42I really tried to remember your name.
- 14:45But she heard me talking about the podcast was interested.
- 14:49And then I was telling her about like, I'm going to block 14 to go check that out.
- 14:54She's like, oh, what's that?
- 14:55And I was like, I'll tell you.
- 14:56And we went over there.
- 14:57So we checked out block 14.
- 14:59There's been no construction yet.
- 15:01It's still ongoing.
- 15:02I think you can vote on the designs now for the memorial garden.
- 15:08Oh, okay.
- 15:09Someone else came by and saw us looking at the sign and said that you can vote on designs.
- 15:14So if anyone's interested in that, I'll link it.
- 15:16Hopefully I can find it.
- 15:18Yeah.
- 15:19Because that would be cool.
- 15:20So that means hopefully it's like, would start soon.
- 15:23Yeah.
- 15:24It's exciting.
- 15:25It's also very eerie.
- 15:27Okay.
- 15:28Because there's signs on the fence.
- 15:32I should pull it out.
- 15:33I was going to say, I mean, I could have told you that.
- 15:36So there's like a sign on the fence because it's fenced off.
- 15:41And it says burial area.
- 15:43Please stay outside chain.
- 15:45Oh.
- 15:46So it is kind of like eerie when you walk by all those signs that are like, this is a burial
- 15:51area.
- 15:52Don't just respect it even further than it already has been.
- 15:56Seriously, like just don't be a dick.
- 15:59Yeah.
- 16:00So it was cool seeing all those things meeting so many different people.
- 16:05Oh, and I signed up to they have nature journaling.
- 16:08Oh, cute.
- 16:09It's reminds me of outdoor school because we were going to go to the like journal in the
- 16:14city in the nature and I signed up for one of those.
- 16:17I'm excited to go to that.
- 16:24And we're going to talk about our email from Jeannie.
- 16:28Ooh.
- 16:29Okay.
- 16:30So title is spooky people chronicles.
- 16:33She changed the name, I guess.
- 16:35Okay.
- 16:36Maybe we'll just officially change it to spooky people chronicles.
- 16:38I mean, we're open to suggestion.
- 16:42Creepy spooky same thing.
- 16:44Also title.
- 16:45Second part of the title says Caitlyn trigger warning.
- 16:48Great.
- 16:49In the title.
- 16:51Should I just get my feet up here?
- 16:54Get them up there.
- 16:55All right.
- 16:56All right.
- 16:57All of them up there.
- 16:58They all nice and tight.
- 16:59Hello, Caitlyn and Cassie.
- 17:03And I said it backwards.
- 17:05This is Cassie and Caitlyn.
- 17:08For some reason my brain likes to put you first.
- 17:10So that's what it did.
- 17:11That's so funny because I feel like whenever I type it out, I'm like, well, I don't want
- 17:16it to always say Caitlyn first.
- 17:18So I put your name first.
- 17:20It is like alphabetically correct.
- 17:23Yeah.
- 17:24You're for yours to be first.
- 17:25I guess tech.
- 17:26Yeah.
- 17:27Technically that's right.
- 17:28So I think a, you know, I'm just going to listen.
- 17:35We might have a power outage on our hands.
- 17:37We don't have time for the ABC.
- 17:39ABC.
- 17:40Okay.
- 17:41Okay.
- 17:42Have a listener.
- 17:45I love your podcast.
- 17:47Oh, thank you.
- 17:49You are my commuting buddies.
- 17:51Thank you for the laughs, the scares and the true crime entertainment.
- 17:54I was wondering why I was so tired all the time.
- 17:57It's all the driving.
- 17:58Yeah.
- 17:59Yeah.
- 18:00It's so much driving.
- 18:01We're always on route.
- 18:03We're on the go.
- 18:04We're women on the go.
- 18:06Yeah.
- 18:07I'm a busy business lady.
- 18:10So now it says Caitlyn, stop reading.
- 18:12It's time for the three spooky happenings.
- 18:15There have been more, but these three wiggled me out.
- 18:19Okay.
- 18:20So apparently like this was for you if you got into the email for you to stop reading,
- 18:25but you're still going to have to sit here and listen to these stories.
- 18:28Come from me.
- 18:29Uh, Thunder in Lightning Storm.
- 18:32Oh gosh.
- 18:33Honestly, I have been so jealous of other podcasts that I've listened to and they live
- 18:40in like the Midwest and they have really frequent thunder storms.
- 18:45And sometimes you can hear it in their audio.
- 18:49And I've been really jealous because I'm like, we've had so many like kind of weird spooky
- 18:53things that we like our running joke now is pretty much like always be recording.
- 19:00Yeah.
- 19:01And I really, I'm like, I want it.
- 19:04I want that Thunder Storm audio.
- 19:08So you manifested the storm as what you're saying.
- 19:10I mean, I've random summer storm Oregon.
- 19:13I even thought about this in months.
- 19:16This is not a recent thought that I've had.
- 19:18It takes time.
- 19:19Man, if it takes time, you guys, you don't know when it's going to happen.
- 19:23I know, but don't you have to actively be like, no, set it and forget it.
- 19:28You might have asked that shit and then you let it go and you don't think about it.
- 19:32And then it comes true.
- 19:33I did what you were supposed to do and it worked.
- 19:36This is just like proof.
- 19:39I cannot believe how loud it is.
- 19:41I'm going to be so disappointed if the mics are some reason.
- 19:45This is a loud.
- 19:46I don't think it'll pick this up.
- 19:48Maybe a little.
- 19:49Yeah, not like that first.
- 19:51That first one was like a closure.
- 19:53Okay.
- 19:54Oh my gosh.
- 19:55Okay, back to it.
- 19:56I just want to flashlight under my chin.
- 19:57I know.
- 20:00Story one.
- 20:01When I was in high school, I stayed overnight at a new friend's house.
- 20:05We were like 14 or 15.
- 20:07It was in the 80s.
- 20:08Ooh, we were just like the 80s earlier.
- 20:10Yeah.
- 20:11The fashion.
- 20:12The fashion.
- 20:14We had gone to a soccer game and had pizza for dinner.
- 20:18Everything was fine.
- 20:20It has a bunch of ease at the end.
- 20:23Fine.
- 20:24Listen, Jeannie.
- 20:25I don't believe you.
- 20:30Not for a second.
- 20:31No.
- 20:33I got up the next morning and went downstairs to have breakfast.
- 20:36I could hear her mom in the kitchen and smell breakfast.
- 20:40Ooh, I can smell it right now.
- 20:42I won't sit.
- 20:44It was an old house.
- 20:45I knew they inherited it from a great aunt.
- 20:48Oh, God.
- 20:49The dream.
- 20:50My God.
- 20:52When I got to the bottom of the stairs, I looked at the front sitting room.
- 20:56Are you ready?
- 20:57No.
- 20:58I've never been less ready.
- 21:02Can I just say I'm really impressed with my reading skills?
- 21:04Yeah, you're doing really good.
- 21:06Thank you.
- 21:07I would be so distracted right now because of the thunder.
- 21:11Obviously, I still am.
- 21:13I'm just not reading.
- 21:14So it makes me a better reader, I think.
- 21:16Oh, look at you.
- 21:18Are you ready?
- 21:19I'm ready for it.
- 21:20I think.
- 21:21Taylor.
- 21:22I should have brought the candle.
- 21:23Fuck.
- 21:24Wait, the candle.
- 21:26The Taylor candle.
- 21:27Oh, the Taylor candle.
- 21:28She'll make an appearance one day.
- 21:30Yeah, she'll be in here.
- 21:32There was a casket with an old lady in it.
- 21:34Flowers and chairs set up in the living room of their house.
- 21:38No, thank you.
- 21:39This is like my dream.
- 21:41I would love to have a funeral home.
- 21:44I think I'm going to have anxiety burps now.
- 21:48You see what you do to our people?
- 21:50Keep it coming.
- 21:51Honestly, the timing of this is just too much.
- 21:57Because number one, OK, you're out there cleaning gravestones
- 22:00today.
- 22:00And this is about--
- 22:02And then--
- 22:06Help me get my smile right now.
- 22:08Like I'm living today.
- 22:10I'm so happy.
- 22:13Do we need to stop?
- 22:14Do we need to stop to the day?
- 22:15And just like, you're killing a little less.
- 22:17Oh, you think you're going to traumatize me twice?
- 22:19Oh, oh, I think not.
- 22:23OK, so it's kind of like they have a funeral home, I guess.
- 22:26OK.
- 22:26Let me see.
- 22:27I could smell the flowers heavy in the air.
- 22:30I panicked and ran into the kitchen to my friend's mom.
- 22:34I was like, if I knew you were having a funeral or a wake
- 22:37in the house today, I would never have stayed legit.
- 22:43Yeah.
- 22:44I was kind of wondering that.
- 22:45Yeah.
- 22:46I'm sorry.
- 22:46I didn't know.
- 22:47Maybe I should go home.
- 22:48Sorry, it wasn't done reading your sentence.
- 22:50It seems like you're panicking, talking all of this,
- 22:53just spilling.
- 22:54I'm sorry.
- 22:55I saw this thing.
- 22:56You got to go home.
- 22:58I was really upset and agitated with this little thing.
- 23:01Yeah.
- 23:01No, it's a real Caitlin energy.
- 23:04She's a Caitlin-shaped hole out the wall.
- 23:07Her mom was like, what did you see?
- 23:11I told her-- I told her.
- 23:14[LAUGHS]
- 23:16Wait.
- 23:17I'm so--
- 23:18Why do you need her to describe it?
- 23:22Are you not seeing the lady with a casket?
- 23:26Are you not-- that whole situation?
- 23:28I think it's sinking in.
- 23:31OK, so she told her.
- 23:33She looked at me and said there hasn't
- 23:35been a funeral or a wake in this house since my great aunt died.
- 23:38Oh, and the thunder.
- 23:43Oh, no.
- 23:44Oh, good.
- 23:44Thunder roll.
- 23:45I was--
- 23:46[LAUGHS]
- 23:47Another lion instructs.
- 23:50Another love goes cold.
- 23:53Hit it.
- 23:54[LAUGHS]
- 23:55OK, anyway.
- 23:56Anyway.
- 23:58We're just trying to make this uncomfortable situation
- 24:00better by laughing.
- 24:01Yeah, let's make it more comfortable by being so uncomfortable.
- 24:07[LAUGHS]
- 24:08So Jeannie says, my friend wasn't even born at the time.
- 24:13She said, close your eyes and tell me everything you saw.
- 24:16I told her at all.
- 24:18We walked together into the sitting room.
- 24:21There was no casket and no flowers.
- 24:24The room was, as it had been the night before, totally normal.
- 24:29She showed me two different pictures of elderly ladies
- 24:32and asked me which one I saw.
- 24:35I immediately pointed to one which was the great aunt who
- 24:39had been dead for 20 years.
- 24:41OK, well, that's not how a proper lineup works, but I'll allow it.
- 24:45Oh.
- 24:46[LAUGHS]
- 24:48Although, apparently, not everyone will.
- 24:52Yeah, I think you need, like, at least four people in the lineup, right?
- 24:55Well, and you're not supposed to say which one of these was it?
- 25:00Also, I totally made up the four thing.
- 25:03It's way too suggestive.
- 25:06My grandma was half Native American and knew about the things
- 25:10I saw or knew.
- 25:12She told me not to tell the normal people
- 25:16or my brother because it would scare them, which
- 25:18is I think that a lot of the times, too.
- 25:20We can't tell the normal people this stuff.
- 25:22Yeah.
- 25:23The Normies.
- 25:25This happened in northern New England.
- 25:29Oh.
- 25:30So there was the first one.
- 25:32You ladies OK.
- 25:34Caitlin, you OK?
- 25:35I'm fine.
- 25:37I mean, the weather seems really upset about this story.
- 25:42That's all.
- 25:42I mean, I just--
- 25:45Oh my god.
- 25:46That's my concern.
- 25:47Are you an ex-man?
- 25:48Are you storm?
- 25:50You're emotional.
- 25:51I'm only just causing a storm.
- 25:53I'm just going to be a little bit more calm.
- 25:55I'm just going to be a little bit more calm.
- 25:57I'm just going to be a little bit more calm.
- 25:59I'm just going to be a little bit more calm.
- 26:01I'm just going to be a little bit calm.
- 26:03I'm just going to be a little bit calm.
- 26:05I'm just going to be a little bit calm.
- 26:07I'm just going to be a little bit calm.
- 26:09I'm just going to be a little bit calm.
- 26:11I'm just going to be a little bit calm.
- 26:13I'm just going to be a little bit calm.
- 26:15I'm just going to be a little bit calm.
- 26:17I'm just going to be a little bit calm.
- 26:19I'm just going to be a little bit calm.
- 26:21I'm just going to be a little bit calm.
- 26:22I'm just going to be a little bit calm.
- 26:24I'm just going to be a little bit calm.
- 26:26I'm just going to be a little bit calm.
- 26:28I'm just going to be a little bit calm.
- 26:30I'm just going to be a little bit calm.
- 26:32I'm just going to be a little bit calm.
- 26:34I'm just going to be a little bit calm.
- 26:36I'm just going to be a little bit calm.
- 26:38I'm just going to be a little bit calm.
- 26:40I'm just going to be a little bit calm.
- 26:42I'm just going to be a little bit calm.
- 26:44I'm just going to be a little bit calm.
- 26:46I'm just going to be a little bit calm.
- 26:48I'm just going to be a little bit calm.
- 26:50I'm just going to be a little bit calm.
- 26:51This is kind of surprised.
- 26:53The way that the mom reacted makes me think that maybe she did.
- 26:57Maybe she did.
- 26:59Maybe she did.
- 26:59Maybe she seen it before.
- 27:01She was just like, "Okay, tell me what you saw."
- 27:03I'm used to this.
- 27:05Yeah.
- 27:06It's either that she was seeing a residual type thing
- 27:09or she just casually slipped into a time warp.
- 27:13Okay.
- 27:14Yeah.
- 27:15She was walked into a little ripple in time.
- 27:17She was walked into a little ripple in time.

- 27:35She was walked into a little ripple in time.
- 27:37She was walked into a little ripple in time.
- 27:39She was walked into a little ripple in time.
- 27:41She was walked into a little ripple in time.
- 27:43She was walked into a little ripple in time.
- 27:45She was walked into a little ripple in time.
- 27:47She was walked into a little ripple in time.
- 27:47She was walked into a little ripple in time.
- 27:48- Yeah.
- 27:49- Situation, but...
- 27:51- I also wonder if this house was,

- 28:09- Yeah, she's like,
- 28:09"Let's tell the information I need. Bye, forever."

- 29:11David Snedden was a 24 year old college student
- 29:14from Utah attending Mandarin classes in Beijing
- 29:17when he mysteriously disappeared
- 29:19while hiking Tiger Leaping Gorge.
- 29:21Chinese authorities said he drowned in the gorge
- 29:24and US authorities agreed,
- 29:25although his body was never found
- 29:27and his parents didn't believe that.
- 29:29Seven years later, out of the blue,
- 29:32they got a phone call from a former US official
- 29:34who had evidence David is still alive.
- 29:37This case sounds like a Hollywood movie,
- 29:39but evidence doesn't lie.
- 29:41So where is David Snedden?
- 29:43Famous rugby player and celebrity X factor contestant
- 29:47Levi Davis went missing in Barcelona last year
- 29:50while on a backpacking trip through Europe.
- 29:53Just days before he vanished,
- 29:55he posted a 15 minute video to his Instagram account
- 29:58saying his life was in danger and people were after him.
- 30:01After he disappeared, several theories emerged,
- 30:04but what really happened to Levi Davis?

- 30:36Coastal North Carolina, 1994 or 1995.
- 30:40Wait, isn't North Carolina like really haunted?
- 30:42Yeah.
- 30:43Okay.
- 30:44What's it, Charlotte?
- 30:46Okay, Charlotte.
- 30:47I think that's how it's like old.
- 30:49Yeah, Savannah.
- 30:51Georgia is supposed to be like--
- 30:53But it's a place in North Carolina.
- 30:54Yeah, yeah.
- 30:55Okay.
- 30:56All right, I'm sure Savannah.
- 30:57Not, I just been to Savannah.
- 31:01Yeah, like kind of through it.
- 31:03We didn't link really stop and do anything,
- 31:04but it was a gorgeous--
- 31:06That's what I would do as well.
- 31:07(laughing)
- 31:09I wanted to stop all the trees.
- 31:11Oh, the Spanish beautiful.
- 31:13Yeah.
- 31:14Anyway.
- 31:15I made one.
- 31:16This was Coastal North Carolina, 1994 or 1995.
- 31:20Two weeks before Halloween, I worked with this fun
- 31:23social butterfly of a guy, a real peach ed.
- 31:27Ed?
- 31:28Yeah.
- 31:28We heard your peach.
- 31:30He asked me to help him take some things after work
- 31:32to a friend's house in the historic district of town
- 31:36for the haunted walk store.
- 31:39I had wanted to see the inside of this house
- 31:42and I had met his friend several times.
- 31:45We parked in the back and carried the stuff in.
- 31:47All was well for now.
- 31:49Okay, listen, we've already established
- 31:53that we don't believe you, but go on for now.
- 31:56We were in the kitchen in the back.
- 32:00His friend hugged me and thanked me.
- 32:02He was like, I'll give you a tour.
- 32:05Did Ed tell you my house is haunted?
- 32:07(laughing)
- 32:08I was like, yes, he did.
- 32:10Did he tell you I'm a witch?
- 32:13Oh my God.
- 32:14And I laughed about it.
- 32:15I was joking a little.
- 32:17There was another lady there who was helping
- 32:20set things up for the tours.
- 32:23She was a medium and not in size.
- 32:26(laughing)
- 32:27So a medium like psychic.
- 32:29I mean, like, talk to the day of.
- 32:31Yeah.
- 32:32I'm picking up what you're putting down.
- 32:35She was very watchful of me from the start.
- 32:38Ooh.
- 32:39Interesting.
- 32:40Okay.
- 32:41Wait, what did she know?
- 32:42(laughing)
- 32:44Too much.
- 32:46We walked down the hall to the foyer
- 32:48which had this cool staircase.
- 32:51Ooh.
- 32:51I like the Titanic staircase.
- 32:54Seriously.
- 32:55That is the beginning of my street of dreams.
- 32:59Love.
- 33:00What?
- 33:02Okay.
- 33:03What?
- 33:03Yeah.
- 33:04I'm like, what?
- 33:06Maybe we shouldn't read the rest.
- 33:08(laughing)
- 33:09I can do this.
- 33:10This whole thing is giving me like Hill House vibes.
- 33:14Okay.
- 33:15I don't know what that means.
- 33:16(gasping)
- 33:17It's because it's too scary for you to watch.
- 33:19Oh, fuck.
- 33:20We walked down the hall to this foyer
- 33:24which had this cool staircase.
- 33:26I pointed up and was.
- 33:29I think she wanted to say I was like, okay.
- 33:35You're talking like,
- 33:37is it, well, there's a missing word.
- 33:39I'm like you, I can't find brain things.
- 33:43Oh my God.
- 33:44It's as if I'm reading this story.
- 33:46I'm glad you're not reading this one.
- 33:48Oh my God.
- 33:49Okay.
- 33:50I'm scared.
- 33:51Okay.
- 33:52I'm not usually like this.
- 33:53I know.
- 33:54I love it.
- 33:55I pointed up and was like,
- 33:59I love that scary decoration of the man hanging
- 34:02from the banister.
- 34:03(screaming)
- 34:05We both gasped.
- 34:07Probably just like that.
- 34:09They both.
- 34:10The medium walked away I was standing.
- 34:14She said, do you like him?
- 34:15What was he wearing?
- 34:17I described this man in a colonial style.
- 34:21In colonial style clothes except he was in stalking feet.
- 34:26Oh, like he was not barefoot.
- 34:29He was like in his stalking feet.
- 34:31Yeah.
- 34:32That's what they didn't really,
- 34:33they didn't have socks.
- 34:36Okay.
- 34:37They had like stockings.
- 34:38I said, did his shoes keep falling off the mannequin?
- 34:43Mm-hmm.
- 34:44Yeah.
- 34:45Yeah.
- 34:46At the end.
- 34:49Yay!
- 34:51Yay!
- 34:52My friend Ed was quite pale and afraid.
- 34:57He's not peaching anymore.
- 34:59He's not a peach?
- 35:00He's one of the white peaches.
- 35:01(laughing)
- 35:02The pale ones.
- 35:03They're tasty.
- 35:05His friend gave a nervous laugh.
- 35:08The medium was like, okay, I want you to turn around
- 35:11and face the door and then turn back around and look up.
- 35:16I did and the hanging man was gone.
- 35:18Oh, gone.
- 35:19I was like, this is just gonna be exactly like that.
- 35:22Okay.
- 35:23I asked who moved him.
- 35:25How did they do it so fast without me hearing or seeing them?
- 35:28Uh-huh.
- 35:29Lotical.
- 35:30Lotical thing to ask.
- 35:31Jeannie, I have bad news about that.
- 35:34The owner of the house said, there was no mannequin hanging there.
- 35:38(screaming)
- 35:41And then he said, I need a drink.
- 35:43(laughing)
- 35:45Yeah.
- 35:46Yeah.
- 35:47Take a drink.
- 35:47Gonna need a refill.
- 35:48We went into the sitting room.
- 35:53Not the sitting room.
- 35:54Sitting rooms are bad for you.
- 35:56Yeah.
- 35:57We went into the sitting room where he had a bar car
- 36:00and he poured us all brandy.
- 36:02Okay, take it back.
- 36:03Go to the sitting room.
- 36:04Can I come over?
- 36:04(laughing)
- 36:06I was all, I don't drink.
- 36:08And he was like, you need this.
- 36:10Yeah, that's a real bummer in this situation.
- 36:14No judgment, but.
- 36:15So let me tell you the backstory of this house.
- 36:19The original builder built this house
- 36:22and the one next door.
- 36:25They were shipping merchants.
- 36:27His son and his family lived in this house.
- 36:29The son was away for business
- 36:31and his wife and two children died of yellow fever.
- 36:35Is it hailing?
- 36:37Yeah.
- 36:37Okay, we gotta get a picture of this
- 36:41because this is the weird organ weather that we speak of.
- 36:45So it was the original builder's son who lived in this house
- 36:50and his son was away for business
- 36:55when his wife and two children died of yellow fever.
- 36:58Oh my God, we see a way on real business
- 37:01or fake business.
- 37:03I hope it was real business.
- 37:05Business.
- 37:07But right when I was saying that
- 37:08is like when the hill storm happened, crazy.
- 37:12Oh my God.
- 37:13They had to be buried before he returned home
- 37:16because of the heat.
- 37:17I mean, that makes sense.
- 37:20So he returned home from his business trip
- 37:24to learn that his family had died.
- 37:26He was destroyed by it.
- 37:28So he didn't even know until he got home.
- 37:30Oh my God.
- 37:31By the way, your entire family is dead
- 37:33and we've already buried them.
- 37:36Jesus.
- 37:37Yeah, I would be destroyed.
- 37:38I can't.
- 37:39His family was worried about his mind.
- 37:43So his sister and husband moved in with him
- 37:45while he was mourning.
- 37:47That's good of them.
- 37:49I mean, probably for the best.
- 37:53I like for God at the beginning of this
- 37:56and I just remembered.
- 37:58Oh no.
- 38:00Yeah.
- 38:01Oh no.
- 38:02On the night of his wife's birthday,
- 38:06after everyone had gone to bed,
- 38:10he went out in his stalking feet
- 38:14because he didn't want his sister to hear him
- 38:17or his husband or sorry, his sister
- 38:20or her husband to hear him.
- 38:22He, oh God.
- 38:23And hung himself on the third floor banister.
- 38:27(sniffing)
- 38:28- Brociss.
- 38:29(sighs)
- 38:30- Shit.
- 38:30I blurred it out.
- 38:33Fuck me.
- 38:34- Yeah. - Yeah.
- 38:37That's fair.
- 38:37- The medium was like, that's what you saw.
- 38:40- Yeah.
- 38:41No, it's okay.
- 38:42We're familiar with French.
- 38:44Shit, dude.
- 38:45That's so sad.
- 38:48That's awful.
- 38:50That poor man.
- 38:52- Yeah, the birthday, that would be really hard.
- 38:55So hard.
- 38:56That means her birthday was right around the corner.
- 38:58Like I wonder if he planned his trip around her birthday.
- 39:03Like to be home for her birthday.
- 39:05- Oh.
- 39:06Yeah, I don't know how long after.
- 39:08- Yeah.
- 39:09- After this was.
- 39:10- Oh.
- 39:12Yeah, it seems like it would be pretty close
- 39:14'cause I don't know, it could have been like,
- 39:16then like almost a year later or whatever.
- 39:20- Yeah.
- 39:21- Based on the thunder claps.
- 39:23- I'm gonna say we're on to something.
- 39:26Uffta.
- 39:27- Now you think after this,
- 39:29I would have left the building screaming.
- 39:32- Yeah.
- 39:33- I did fact check this story at a later date
- 39:36and it was true.
- 39:37I did not leave.
- 39:38I finished the tour.
- 39:40I would finish.
- 39:42- Okay.
- 39:42My eye twitch has been activated.
- 39:45So, sorry about it, but like this is what happens.
- 39:49Do you see?
- 39:50Do you see?
- 39:51- Do you see the twitch and--
- 39:52- Oh God.
- 39:54My friend Ed was like,
- 39:55I won't sleep over because I'm spooked by this house's vibe.
- 39:59He went upstairs and on one of the beds was a doll.
- 40:03Yes, a freaking doll.
- 40:09An old-fashioned porcelain doll.
- 40:12- Mm.
- 40:13- And I looked at my friend's friend and said,
- 40:16this spooky beautiful house, of course,
- 40:19needs a haunted looking doll on a bed.
- 40:21- It doesn't need that.
- 40:23- All the house is needed.
- 40:26- It's already haunted enough.
- 40:28- Oh, stop it.
- 40:29Oh, stop it.
- 40:30He looked at me and said there is no doll on the bed.
- 40:34What?
- 40:35Okay, did not see that coming.
- 40:37- The only thing worse than a creepy doll
- 40:41is a creepy doll haunting.
- 40:44- Is it a ghost of the doll?
- 40:48Or...
- 40:49(sighs)
- 40:51- I don't know, oh my gosh, okay.
- 40:54I didn't see that coming.
- 40:55I was like shocked.
- 40:56- I just-- - I just--
- 40:57- Yeah, I just-- - Honestly,
- 40:58I don't wanna see that coming.
- 40:59I don't wanna see it coming or going.
- 41:02That's where I met.
- 41:03(sighs)
- 41:05Gonna plug my phone in in case we lose power.
- 41:08It's not moving away from us.
- 41:13- I shit you not.
- 41:13When I looked back again,
- 41:15there was no dandall on the bed.
- 41:17- Well, great.
- 41:18So now you are fine.
- 41:21Now everything is fine.
- 41:23He said, "I have two dolls in my room
- 41:28on a chest of drawers.
- 41:30When I saw those dolls, they were not the doll I saw."
- 41:34Okay, that's good, maybe.
- 41:35- Okay.
- 41:36- I looked at the medium and said was his daughter's--
- 41:40- Oh!
- 41:41- Yeah.
- 41:42- I looked at the medium and said that was his daughter's room,
- 41:44wasn't it?
- 41:46I feel like she has like flashing back in his time
- 41:49like having time warps.
- 41:50- And listen, this is positive
- 41:53because otherwise we're looking at more of a chucky situation
- 41:57which is that, that's my true trigger.
- 42:00- So this is the daughter.
- 42:01- That's just there because it was a little girl's room.
- 42:03- It was loved.
- 42:04- And she wanted her to see her beloved doll
- 42:08and the room the way it was.
- 42:09- That's just like that.
- 42:11It's an old mad TV sketch where he's like,
- 42:14"Well, what I didn't do."
- 42:16(laughing)
- 42:17- Old, oh my God.
- 42:19- I mean, I've only seen that on reruns.
- 42:21- Do it. - And basically a fetus.
- 42:23- Do it. - Do it.
- 42:24- Let me do it.
- 42:27Let me do it.
- 42:28- So the medium nodded yes to the question
- 42:31of what's at the daughter's room.
- 42:33At this point, I did not know the sex of these children,
- 42:36a girl and a boy.
- 42:38Then, oh, he said--
- 42:41- There was more than one child.
- 42:42- Yeah, there was, yeah, two children.
- 42:44- Oh, really?
- 42:46- Yeah, his wife and children passed it, so.
- 42:49Oh, God. - Oh, okay.
- 42:51- That's awful. - Okay.
- 42:52- Okay. - Shh.
- 42:53- He then told me about what he hears at night
- 42:56and he's seen some things.
- 42:58I've seen some things.
- 42:59- Yeah. - Yeah.
- 43:01- Yeah.
- 43:02- I was like, "You need to get a colonial style,
- 43:07"porsche and doll and put it on the bed."
- 43:09And the medium said, "See, I told you the same thing."
- 43:13So they both had told him.
- 43:14So she was like a medium too.
- 43:16Maybe that's part of her medium. - Okay.
- 43:18- She just sees it. - Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 43:21Okay. - Interesting.
- 43:22- I mean, could your medium should be
- 43:27that you just feel stuff?
- 43:29- Yeah, there's different layers. - There's like,
- 43:32- like, clairvoyant, clair audience.
- 43:34Like, when you hear things, - Ah!
- 43:37- Interesting. - The other ones,
- 43:38I don't know the other. - I get mad.
- 43:40- I don't know. - I don't know.
- 43:41- I don't know, shit.
- 43:42- I don't look into shit about shit
- 43:44because I'm scared of that shit.
- 43:45- Google the layers.
- 43:47- I mine is annoying because I just know things
- 43:52and that's really annoying because I gaslight myself constantly.
- 43:55I trick myself and don't say that
- 43:57'cause it's like not true.
- 43:59Just like don't say it.
- 44:00And then someone else will say it.
- 44:01And I'll be like, "Fuck, I was gonna say that
- 44:03and then no one's ever gonna believe me."
- 44:06- Yeah, yeah. - I'm trying, I'm trying.
- 44:07- You're like suppressing it because you're like,
- 44:09I don't know, that's, is that a weird thing to say?
- 44:12- How would I ever know that?
- 44:13- Yeah, how could I possibly know that?
- 44:15He heard boots walking in the halls pacing.
- 44:18- I don't like that. - He had heard
- 44:20the noise of ropes creaking, children laughing
- 44:23and also crying.
- 44:25- Also, no.
- 44:26- He saw multiple times a,
- 44:29this is Caitlin's word, a visit.
- 44:32(laughing)
- 44:33- I like to-- - I'm a lady sitting in a chair
- 44:36looking out the window, holding the curtain open
- 44:39with her hand.
- 44:40- Ooh.
- 44:41- It was like, there is zero chance I'd live here
- 44:43or sleep over.
- 44:44- Zip. - Yeah.
- 44:45- Zero.
- 44:47- That's fair.
- 44:48That's the appropriate response.
- 44:50- Okay, I said nope several times,
- 44:52so I'm gonna need everyone to drink.
- 44:55- Drink up.
- 44:56- We did sit it out in his garden
- 44:59and have refreshments after all of this.
- 45:01I was invited back.
- 45:02I was like, nope.
- 45:04(laughing)
- 45:07- Well, listen to them rules.
- 45:11They do a candlelight Christmas tour as well.
- 45:14I wanna go.
- 45:16- Okay, that does sound cool.
- 45:17- Yeah, it does sound cool.
- 45:20- I was pretty done at this point
- 45:22and I'd had a headache.
- 45:24- Oh no.
- 45:25The medium said a cleansing per-over-me.
- 45:28I never went back to that house, ever, never, ever.
- 45:31Get more wine.
- 45:33(laughing)
- 45:35- Thank you for the wine reminders.
- 45:36- Yeah, that's really helpful.
- 45:38- It is.
- 45:40- Okay, so that's the end of that story.
- 45:42- Oh my God.
- 45:43- All right, are you ready for Genie's third story?
- 45:46Third time as a charm.
- 45:48- I was thinking that.
- 45:49- I think what they say.
- 45:50- Or say kick.
- 45:51- Or just Irish.
- 45:54(laughing)
- 45:56- Or just literally say that all of the time.
- 45:58- Yeah.
- 45:59(whistling)
- 46:02- If you haven't, nope, right out yet.
- 46:06Here we go.
- 46:08I am back in Northern New England.
- 46:10It is early 1990s before we lived in North Carolina.
- 46:14My former mother-in-law's house was haunted,
- 46:17or so they claimed, while I was dating my ex-husband,
- 46:21I didn't see her here anything.
- 46:24The old basement was creepy.
- 46:26- Mm-hmm.
- 46:27- As they tend to be.
- 46:28- Well, against creepy or this one.
- 46:30- Okay.
- 46:31- They show me. - They show me.
- 46:32- They show me.
- 46:32- They're the feedback of,
- 46:33'cause my daughter's going again.
- 46:34- You're not going to like this.
- 46:36- I think I'm so excited.
- 46:38Yay for me.
- 46:39- Don't make that face.
- 46:41- Hold on, hold on, hold on.
- 46:42Hold on, this is crazy.
- 46:44Weird.
- 46:45Okay, this is weird.
- 46:46(laughing)
- 46:47Okay.
- 46:48They showed me a stone they found that resembled a grave stone.
- 46:53We called him Mr. Smith.
- 46:55- Just for for...
- 46:56- Stop it.
- 46:57- Do you wanna know the name on one of the headstones
- 47:00I cleaned today?
- 47:01- Take just like a wildest guess.
- 47:04- Well, it is the most common last name in the history of ever.
- 47:09- But still, that's weird.
- 47:12- I cleaned a headstone that was Alfred Smith.
- 47:15Alfred?
- 47:16Alfred?
- 47:17- Alfred Smith.
- 47:18- Mr. Smith.
- 47:20- Mr. Smith.
- 47:22- How did it like, I didn't read this.
- 47:23I didn't know I was going to be cleaning a Smith headstone.
- 47:26- And literally talking about Mr. Smith's head,
- 47:28this is weird.
- 47:30I know it's a common name, but still.
- 47:31- Yeah, no, I mean you're right.
- 47:33'Cause honestly, who could have predicted
- 47:37that we would be reading this story
- 47:40on the day that you went and cleaned headstones?
- 47:44'Cause obviously, you know, I don't read these in advance.
- 47:48- Yeah.
- 47:49- 'Cause I'm only gonna do this shit once.
- 47:52(laughing)
- 47:53- Well, I mean theoretically, I could have pre-read this
- 47:56when I went, I'm gonna find a Smith headstone,
- 47:59but like, I didn't.
- 48:01- I know, well lately we've kind of been trying
- 48:04to do more of a cold reading with them.
- 48:07- I like it better.
- 48:08- Yeah.
- 48:09- Yeah.
- 48:10- 'Cause then I'm surprised, I'm not an actress, okay.
- 48:13That was like a real surprise shock on my face, you guys.
- 48:17- No, didn't we already talk about how the feelings,
- 48:19they just like happened on the face.
- 48:22- Okay.
- 48:23- So anyway.
- 48:24We called him Mr. Smith.
- 48:26- They said they moved it once out of the area
- 48:29and all sorts of bad things happened
- 48:31until they put it back in that area.
- 48:34It is a dirt and stone floor
- 48:37in that old corner of the basement.
- 48:40- Uh-huh.
- 48:42- It's typical of the area
- 48:44and original age of the house.
- 48:46- So how?
- 48:47- To have like those kinds of floors, I guess.
- 48:49- Very old.
- 48:50- The house had been extensively remodeled
- 48:52and added on to, so they could have built on overtop
- 48:56of someone's grave and they could have not known, you know.
- 48:59- No, they would never do that.
- 49:01- Mm-hmm.
- 49:02- Yeah, for eight, they would never.
- 49:03- They would never happen to that.
- 49:05- That's not a thing.
- 49:07You don't pay over grave stones
- 49:10and put it parking lots.
- 49:11- Huh.
- 49:12- Is that the song?
- 49:13- It's no, it's a cemetery.
- 49:15- Paradise.
- 49:16- It's a parking lot.
- 49:17- Not, it has nothing to do with cemeteries, how dare you.
- 49:20- It does now.
- 49:22We had moved back to the area.
- 49:24I went down into the basement alone, which I hated.
- 49:27- Why?
- 49:28- To get a roast for her former mill, mother and law.
- 49:32- Am I out?
- 49:33Am I out?
- 49:34- How about I set it wrong?
- 49:35Mother and law, mill, if you're nasty.
- 49:38- If you're nasty.
- 49:39(laughing)
- 49:40- There is a creaky door at the top of the stairs
- 49:44and the light switch is inside the door.
- 49:46I had to close the door at the top of the stairs
- 49:48behind me, which is unsettling.
- 49:51- Uh-huh.
- 49:52- I am digging around in the chest freezer,
- 49:54looking for the roast, when all of the overhead
- 49:58lights went out.
- 49:59- No.
- 50:00- How freak would it be if the power went out right now?
- 50:03- Oh my God.
- 50:04- Fucking divorce.
- 50:06- Okay, I know, obviously, from context,
- 50:09this is your ex-husband.
- 50:10- Maybe this is why.
- 50:11- Yeah.
- 50:12- She's like, "Divorce!
- 50:14Divorce, too much bad energy.
- 50:16- Yeah.
- 50:17- Divorce.
- 50:17The door at the top of the stairs never opened
- 50:20and the other switch I could see.
- 50:23The house's power breaker was within my line of sight.
- 50:26I tried to reason out of why the overhead lights were out.
- 50:31I am holding the roast and holding the freezer open
- 50:34because it was the only light on down there.
- 50:37Oh.
- 50:37- Okay.
- 50:38- So I got the roast in the door.
- 50:40- Yeah.
- 50:42- That's not gonna be very much light.
- 50:44- She freaking throws a roast at this ghost.
- 50:47I'm gonna die.
- 50:48I'm gonna die.
- 50:49- Is she gonna throw a roast?
- 50:51- I don't know, I really hope so.
- 50:52I hope so.
- 50:53I'm trying to find my spot, so I can keep reading.
- 50:56- Okay.
- 50:58But what if the ghost makes the roast taste weird?
- 51:03- Like it goes through the ectoplasm taste on it?
- 51:08- Yeah, it tastes like sulfur.
- 51:10Oh, that would be a demon.
- 51:12But you know, what it's like.
- 51:13- It could be a demon in the basement.
- 51:14- Could it be?
- 51:16That's a very demony place.
- 51:17- But if there was a headstone down there,
- 51:20it's probably a person.
- 51:21Okay.
- 51:22I don't know.
- 51:23She's holding this frozen roast.
- 51:26- Can the freezer open?
- 51:28She goes, "Lost my temper, I started yelling at Mr. Smith.
- 51:33If I break and fall my neck,
- 51:34trying to get this light switch,
- 51:36my dying words will be very me next to Mr. Smith.
- 51:40And you will be stuck with me for all of you turning in.
- 51:44The light suddenly came back on, so it worked.
- 51:48You just yell at him and tell him what's going on.
- 51:50- What?
- 51:51- Don't it.
- 51:51That was funny.
- 51:52- Yeah, definitely first step.
- 51:54Tell the ghost what you want.
- 51:56They say again, the door to the stairs was never opened.
- 52:00So they went shaking out of the basement.
- 52:03But I now knew how to handle Mr. Smith.
- 52:06- I met you, Dan.
- 52:06- So did Angelina.
- 52:07- I was just shut the fuck up.
- 52:11- Mr. and Mrs. Smith?
- 52:13- We're like on the same brain way.
- 52:15- We actually just have the one brain.
- 52:18Like just one of us is borrowing half of it.
- 52:22- From time to time.
- 52:23- Yeah.
- 52:24- That's what happens.
- 52:24- Yeah, I feel like that's why--
- 52:26- I feel like that's why--
- 52:26- Don't when I leave.
- 52:27(laughing)
- 52:29I was like, that's why sometimes when we're together,
- 52:31we're like, "Bro, whoa."
- 52:33'Cause we know things.
- 52:34How do we know?
- 52:35(laughing)
- 52:37- I have several stories about that house and him.
- 52:41I am no longer part of that family and the house was sold.
- 52:45I sure hope he's nice to the new owners.
- 52:47- Oh my gosh.
- 52:48- I should have left a little sticky note on the stone
- 52:51thing.
- 52:52Don't move me.
- 52:53Just be firm with me.
- 52:55Tell me what you want.
- 52:57So she says, "I did research on him."
- 53:00He was buried two towns away.
- 53:02He did survive the Civil War and lived for years after.
- 53:07But are you ready for this?
- 53:09The part of North Carolina where we ended up living for a time was the area where he fought
- 53:15and was stationed and possibly was a prisoner of war there.
- 53:19- Stop it.
- 53:20- Is it a coincidence?
- 53:21I don't know.
- 53:22So sure.
- 53:23- Yeah, me either.
- 53:26- Have a creepy ass day.
- 53:28Big hug.
- 53:29- Jeannie.
- 53:30- So was his name actually Smith though?
- 53:33If you researched.
- 53:34- I don't know.
- 53:37- Mr. Smith.
- 53:38Oh wow.
- 53:39Okay.
- 53:40Yeah.
- 53:41That was super interesting.
- 53:42- Yeah.
- 53:43- 'Cause you didn't see anything that time that like disappeared.
- 53:45It was.
- 53:46- Yeah, that's interesting.
- 53:47Yeah.
- 53:48- It was the lights were on the old time and you just slipped into the past where there was
- 53:53no electricity.
- 53:54- That's like the fucking twilight zone.
- 53:57No thank you.
- 53:58- What if that's what happened?
- 54:00- I don't believe it.
- 54:01- No.
- 54:02I don't.
- 54:03- You're just like anything you were touching went with you to the past.
- 54:06- Thank you.
- 54:07- So like the freezer and the roast.
- 54:09- Nope.
- 54:11- She's the one that DMmed me just briefly as an aside.
- 54:16She said, "Hey ladies, for a couple months on my Spotify, I couldn't see any new episodes.
- 54:22The absolute horror."
- 54:24- What the heck?
- 54:26- I know.
- 54:28Today I logged out and back in and saw all the episodes I need to catch up on.
- 54:36I was also following you and it said, "I wasn't."
- 54:41If you lost listeners, something weird happened.
- 54:45- Yeah, I think everyone fucking, everyone's fucking with shit.
- 54:50- Yeah.
- 54:51Yeah, between the Apple, Shanaean again, and then I was like, "Oh, I wasn't aware of the
- 54:57Spotify stuff being like, like this is crazy."
- 55:02I had heard there have been some weird buggy stuff with Spotify around, I think kind of a
- 55:07similar timeframe, but holy fucking shit.
- 55:13She says, "It didn't happen to others that I listened to."
- 55:16- They're probably paying for that.
- 55:20- Needless to say, you ladies will be my co-pilots for my commute.
- 55:27I can't wait to catch up.
- 55:30Thank you for all the episodes.
- 55:31- With a kissy face.
- 55:35- Thank you.
- 55:36- In case we were like, what's more?
- 55:39- I'm gonna sound it out and I'm a visual learner.
- 55:43I appreciate that you appealed to all of the potential learning styles essentially.
- 55:53She was like, "I didn't touch you," and say, "Wah."
- 55:57I guess that's the one, maybe.
- 55:59- Covet safe.
- 56:00- Yeah, exactly.
- 56:02Okay, so I had responded and let her know.
- 56:04I was like, "Wow, wasn't super aware that things were going awry with Spotify?"
- 56:12So that's great.
- 56:14- Great.
- 56:15- You know, Tony, the Tiger style.
- 56:18- All those festivals.
- 56:19- Yeah.
- 56:20- All the things that we did.
- 56:23Yep.
- 56:24But we're meeting new people every day and telling them about our podcast.
- 56:27- Yeah.
- 56:28- And you are too.
- 56:29- It's true, right?
- 56:30- Do it.
- 56:31Please.
- 56:32For the love of God.
- 56:33- I would make her hands, but I'm scared the computer will freeze.
- 56:36- I know, yeah, we couldn't do it.
- 56:38- I'm trauma-dumbed.
- 56:39- We have to not use our hands.
- 56:42And so then this is about a week after the wedding.
- 56:45I got a DM from Jeannie saying, "Ladies, I sent you an email of three of my creepy stories.
- 56:54Make sure Caitlin doesn't read them first."
- 56:58I put a warning on them, have some wine and buckle up.
- 57:03Big hugs.
- 57:04Keeps staying spooky.
- 57:06Goose emoji.
- 57:07- Oh.
- 57:08- And I said, "Ha ha, I saw it.
- 57:11Good thing I read the subject.
- 57:13So much wine."
- 57:15So excited to read them.
- 57:17Send us your address if you would like some stickers.
- 57:20And she did.
- 57:21I'm not going to read you her address.
- 57:23- She's really upset.
- 57:24- Yeah.
- 57:25Hello you guys.
- 57:26- You're in the mood.
- 57:27- True crime.
- 57:28What kind of a host would I be?
- 57:30A bubba.
- 57:31- So you can trust us with your address if you would like stickers for your stories.
- 57:36Just give us your address and we won't share it with people because we're that trustworthy.
- 57:40- We're so trustworthy.
- 57:41- We won't even sell it to like a mailing list company for money.
- 57:45You know, that we're desperate.
- 57:47- Honestly, we don't have enough of your addresses for it to be worth their time.
- 57:51One more thing I'm going to read that Jeannie said, "When these things happened or happened
- 57:58I used to be much more spooked and freaked out by it."
- 58:02Now I'm like, "Okay.
- 58:06What do you have to tell me?
- 58:08Because I hate to say you get used to it, but you sort of do."
- 58:12And there are a couple of emojis here.
- 58:16I'll normalize my trauma.
- 58:19Cheers, creepy people.
- 58:21And I'll...
- 58:23- You just get used to seeing dead people, you know?
- 58:26- Yeah, you just sort of do.
- 58:28You just sort of do.
- 58:30- Do.
- 58:31- I do.
- 58:32- A little bit.
- 58:33I don't know.
- 58:34I haven't really seen a lot of dead people.
- 58:36- Yeah.
- 58:37- I think you feel them.
- 58:38- You feel them.
- 58:39I just know things.
- 58:40- I think I get some flashes.
- 58:43I think I get like the dark, like a shadowy presence in like the corner of your, in like
- 58:51in your peripheral.
- 58:53I almost texted you earlier because I was like, "Listen, I don't know if it's because you're
- 58:56at a cemetery today."
- 58:59And like I can feel that.
- 59:02But like, I was just kidding when I said don't rush over because actually I'm starting
- 59:07to get real freaked out.
- 59:08Molly was barking.
- 59:09- Oh.
- 59:10- She was like barking off and on for like a...
- 59:14It started like kind of an isolated thing.
- 59:17And then about 10 minutes before I left, go to Trader Joe's, she got real burky.
- 59:25And it was just very sporadic.
- 59:26So I'd come out and be like, "What the fuck?"
- 59:29And she was also staring in a weird...
- 59:34She moved to a different spot and she was still staring off into the middle distance, into
- 59:39a weird spot.
- 59:40And I was like, "Listen, I have had enough of your shit today.
- 59:44You are a literal bitch because I'm talking to my female dog."
- 59:50Also she was being kind of a bitch.
- 59:54She was really freaking me out.
- 59:55I almost texted you like, "Are you ready to come over yet?
- 59:59Because actually I'm getting kind of freaked out."
- 1:00:01- I'm wondering like I know it was way earlier, but I'm wondering if she was like sensing
- 1:00:05the electrical change in the air from like the storm coming in.
- 1:00:09- You know, I didn't really think about that until now.
- 1:00:13Or it could have charged something up from the scene.
- 1:00:17- Also that, yeah.
- 1:00:18- And static electricity.
- 1:00:20- Honestly, before we even had like the thunder and lightning inhale.
- 1:00:25- Was there a bug on my head?
- 1:00:27- What?
- 1:00:28- Was there a bug on my head?
- 1:00:30- I don't think so.
- 1:00:31Why?
- 1:00:32- It's a static electricity and then I felt like my hair knew this.
- 1:00:36- Wait, like that?
- 1:00:38- I felt like it went like that.
- 1:00:39- No, no, don't say that, don't say that.
- 1:00:42- Don't say that.
- 1:00:43- Don't say that.
- 1:00:44- I'm telling you, I'm gonna show me a note too.
- 1:00:45- I'm gonna show you a note too.
- 1:00:46- I'm gonna show you a note too.
- 1:00:47- I'm gonna show you a note too.
- 1:00:48- I'm gonna show you a note too.
- 1:00:49- I'm gonna show you a note too.
- 1:00:50- I'm gonna show you a note too.
- 1:00:51- I'm gonna show you a note too.
- 1:00:52- I'm gonna show you a note too.
- 1:00:53- I'm gonna show you a note too.
- 1:00:54- I'm gonna show you a note too.
- 1:00:55- I'm gonna show you a note too.
- 1:00:56- I'm gonna show you a note too.
- 1:00:57- I'm gonna show you a note too.
- 1:00:58- I'm gonna show you a note too.
- 1:00:59- I'm gonna show you a note too.
- 1:01:00- I'm gonna show you a note too.
- 1:01:10- I'm gonna show you a note too.
- 1:01:11- I'm gonna show you a note too.
- 1:01:12- I'm gonna show you a note too.
- 1:01:13- I'm gonna show you a note too.
- 1:01:14- I'm gonna show you a note too.
- 1:01:15- I'm gonna show you a note too.
- 1:01:16- I'm gonna show you a note too.
- 1:01:17- I'm gonna show you a note too.
- 1:01:18- I'm gonna show you a note too.
- 1:01:19- I'm gonna show you a note too.
- 1:01:20- I'm gonna show you a note too.
- 1:01:21- I'm gonna show you a note too.
- 1:01:22- I'm gonna show you a note too.
- 1:01:23- I'm gonna show you a note too.
- 1:01:24- I'm gonna show you a note too.
- 1:01:25- I'm gonna show you a note too.
- 1:01:26- I'm gonna show you a note too.
- 1:01:27- So we're using the mushroom spirit or a cold deck
- 1:01:35that Katelyn got me for my birthday.
- 1:01:37- For your birthday.
- 1:01:38- Yeah, for your birthday.
- 1:01:39- I was like, what was the most recent holiday?
- 1:01:41- Holiday.
- 1:01:42- Why are we celebrating a thing?
- 1:01:43- Do we need a reason to celebrate me though?
- 1:01:45- No.
- 1:01:46- Oh.
- 1:01:47- Okay, did you think about the creepy stories?
- 1:01:50The three creepy stories?
- 1:01:52- Totally.
- 1:01:53- Ooh.
- 1:01:54- Ooh.
- 1:01:56- Blue pink hill.
- 1:01:58Okay.
- 1:02:00Do you have your mushroomy interpretation?
- 1:02:05- It's number 18, it looks like.
- 1:02:07- Okay.
- 1:02:09- We have a little mini tarot card sitting here
- 1:02:11which is what we put in our thank you cards
- 1:02:14for the Patreon.
- 1:02:16- Thank you.
- 1:02:17- Okay, I have no idea how to pronounce
- 1:02:19the scientific name of this mushroom.
- 1:02:23I would say, and to Lama,
- 1:02:27Hawks' Deteria.
- 1:02:30- Lama's and Hawks.
- 1:02:32- Yep.
- 1:02:33Lama's and Hawks.
- 1:02:34It is a blue pink gill.
- 1:02:37And I think this counts as our keyword.
- 1:02:41It's listed as a rarity.
- 1:02:43It's also inedible and poisonous.
- 1:02:47- Yeah, rarity is the word that's on the card.
- 1:02:50- Yeah.
- 1:02:51- So you said inedible and poisonous?
- 1:02:54- Yes.
- 1:02:55- Yeah.
- 1:02:56- Yeah.
- 1:02:57You would think that's redundant.
- 1:03:00Poisonous equals inedible.
- 1:03:02- But you know what?
- 1:03:03- Technically this is poison, too.
- 1:03:05- Okay.
- 1:03:06- You know?
- 1:03:07- I don't know.
- 1:03:08- Everything is a spectrum mushroom science.
- 1:03:12- Mushroom science.
- 1:03:14- So what does it say?
- 1:03:16- Featuring on the New Zealand $50 note
- 1:03:19is the blue pink gill,
- 1:03:21a small blue mushroom native to the country.
- 1:03:25It can be found in forests throughout New Zealand,
- 1:03:28residing among the leaf litter of broad leaf
- 1:03:32or pothacorp, pothacarp trees.
- 1:03:37- Oh.
- 1:03:38- With such a distinctive cobalt blue,
- 1:03:41it is truly a sight to see.
- 1:03:44- Oh.
- 1:03:45Wow.
- 1:03:46- I was seeing a lot of sights to see in her story.
- 1:03:49- What is she like?
- 1:03:51Blue in nature is a rare sight
- 1:03:54and blue pigment even rarer.
- 1:03:57- Yeah.
- 1:03:58- Rarer old jumper.
- 1:04:00- Plants don't normally exhibit blue in nature
- 1:04:04and generally have no blue pigment in them
- 1:04:07to create the blue color.
- 1:04:10The color is created by their structure
- 1:04:13that reflects the blue light wave,
- 1:04:16giving the impression it is blue.
- 1:04:19Blue pink gill, on the other hand,
- 1:04:22actually has three azure-ing pigments
- 1:04:25that make up its stunning color.
- 1:04:27- Oh.
- 1:04:28- So, wow.
- 1:04:29- A lot of blue.
- 1:04:30- Is an illusion.
- 1:04:31- Yeah.
- 1:04:32- Well, I'm sorry.
- 1:04:33I was thinking like a lot of blue things
- 1:04:37are like an illusion, it was saying.
- 1:04:39- Yeah.
- 1:04:40- And this one is actually blue.
- 1:04:41- It actually has blue pigment.
- 1:04:42- It's very interesting because
- 1:04:44her seeing these visions of things,
- 1:04:47it's like, is it an illusion?
- 1:04:50Is it actually there?
- 1:04:53Is she seeing an illusion?
- 1:04:55- Okay.
- 1:04:56This is really interesting though.
- 1:04:58Scientists are not sure why the mushroom
- 1:05:03needs to be blue.
- 1:05:05But generally, everything has a reason.
- 1:05:09- Oh.
- 1:05:11- It seems this mushroom has chosen blue
- 1:05:15for a reason we are yet to determine.
- 1:05:18Much like why any of the things
- 1:05:22in these three stories.
- 1:05:24- Yeah.
- 1:05:25It made me think of like the rarity of being blue
- 1:05:28is kind of the rarity of this gift.
- 1:05:31- Yeah.
- 1:05:32- It's like a gift that she has.
- 1:05:33- Yeah.
- 1:05:34- She's used to it now,
- 1:05:35so maybe she can refer to it as a gift.
- 1:05:37I don't know how you feel about it.
- 1:05:39- Yeah.
- 1:05:40- It's not common.
- 1:05:42And even seeing stuff like that
- 1:05:45is even less common, I feel like.
- 1:05:47- Oh, yeah.
- 1:05:48I definitely agree.
- 1:05:49And maybe there's a reason for it.
- 1:05:51- Maybe there's a reason.
- 1:05:53- She could write a story.
- 1:05:55- Yay!
- 1:05:56- Welcome.
- 1:05:57- These were good ones though.
- 1:05:59Very, very good.
- 1:06:01It may be that herbivores
- 1:06:04are not attracted to blue
- 1:06:06and therefore leave the mushrooms alone.
- 1:06:09But there may be other reasons.
- 1:06:12It's true though,
- 1:06:13because I mean,
- 1:06:15any herbivore that's eating all of these plants
- 1:06:18that are stereotypically green all day long,
- 1:06:21they're gonna look at something that's blue and go,
- 1:06:24"Mm, yeah, I don't know if I should put that in my mouth."
- 1:06:27- Yeah.
- 1:06:28- It is also poisonous though, right?
- 1:06:30- It is.
- 1:06:31- So are they looking out for these other creatures too?
- 1:06:33- Um, I--
- 1:06:34- Like, they don't eat me in poison.
- 1:06:36Also, like, don't kill me.
- 1:06:38- Yeah, I mean, that is a protective element of the plant, I think.
- 1:06:43- Yeah.
- 1:06:44- Which can first the blue or the poison.
- 1:06:46- Mm.
- 1:06:47- I don't know.
- 1:06:48- Interesting.
- 1:06:49- Okay, card meaning.
- 1:06:51Being a rarity doesn't necessarily mean
- 1:06:54that people fail to notice you.
- 1:06:57In fact, it can be quite the opposite,
- 1:07:00as seen in the blue pink gill.
- 1:07:04Standing out can be beautiful
- 1:07:06when you look different from everything around you.
- 1:07:09- Aww.
- 1:07:10- Or when you see everything different around you.
- 1:07:14Everyone serves a purpose,
- 1:07:18even if you don't understand what it is yet.
- 1:07:21- Wow.
- 1:07:22- Your purpose may be big, it may be small,
- 1:07:27but size doesn't equate to bigger and better.
- 1:07:30- That's right.
- 1:07:31- That's right.
- 1:07:32- The motion of the ocean, as we all know.
- 1:07:34- You know, the simple act of seeing the beauty
- 1:07:37in what is in front of you has an effect on the larger scale.
- 1:07:42Do you know what your purpose is?
- 1:07:45Do you see the beauty in your rarity?
- 1:07:49- Do you, Jeannie?
- 1:07:51- We do, obviously.
- 1:07:53- Yeah.
- 1:07:54- We think it's really cool, very terrifying experiences
- 1:07:58that you have though.
- 1:07:59- Yeah.
- 1:08:00- And seeing, especially the man.
- 1:08:03- Yeah.
- 1:08:04- That like seeing someone in that state
- 1:08:06who like that actually happened to him.
- 1:08:09- I'm gonna read the rest of the interpretation.
- 1:08:12- Okay.
- 1:08:13- For there are incredibly complex pieces
- 1:08:17that make up your whole.
- 1:08:19- Aww.
- 1:08:20- Rarity is beautiful,
- 1:08:22and rarity is not always unique.
- 1:08:25There will always be others just like you.
- 1:08:30- So you can still find your people.
- 1:08:33- Aww.
- 1:08:34- You're creepy people.
- 1:08:36That's us.
- 1:08:37- Yeah.
- 1:08:39- By being rare, you deter what you don't want finding you.
- 1:08:44- Aww.
- 1:08:45- You stand untouched by those who would normally try
- 1:08:50to take you down.
- 1:08:51You go unnoticed to some, but notice to others.
- 1:08:56- That's cool.
- 1:08:57- Oh, I just got to.
- 1:08:59- Yeah.
- 1:09:00- Blue was always a hard color to come by in olden days.
- 1:09:06And therefore, something only royalty could obtain.
- 1:09:11- Huh?
- 1:09:12- What is your uniqueness?
- 1:09:14And how can you utilize it to stand out in a sea of the same?
- 1:09:19- I love that.
- 1:09:21- I love that too.
- 1:09:22- Yeah, the visual of that.
- 1:09:24- Specifically with the blue.
- 1:09:26And tall and proud and enjoy being something special.
- 1:09:31Oh, these mushrooms are so cute.
- 1:09:34- They're really cute.
- 1:09:35- They are cute.
- 1:09:36- Is it weird to have a crush on a mushroom?
- 1:09:38- No.
- 1:09:39- They're so cute.
- 1:09:41- They're so cute.
- 1:09:42- I just keep for fading what you're saying.
- 1:09:46- No, they're really, they are though.
- 1:09:48They're very, they're very like, dainty, they're like very like.
- 1:09:52- I don't know who Jeannie, I don't know Jeannie.
- 1:09:55- Well, but I feel like, did these mushrooms represent you?
- 1:10:00- Do you like the color on the limb?
- 1:10:02- I don't know.
- 1:10:03- Do you like the color on the limb?
- 1:10:04- Yes.
- 1:10:05- Do you know Jeannie?
- 1:10:06- I know a few more things that the rest of you don't.
- 1:10:09Just from context, I'm gonna say, I feel like this resonates for me with Jeannie.
- 1:10:15I don't know.
- 1:10:16I can be wrong, maybe I'm crazy.
- 1:10:18- Definitely the cute part if anything.
- 1:10:20- Yeah.
- 1:10:21- Exactly.
- 1:10:22- I don't know.
- 1:10:25- You'll have to let us know if Lou means anything to you of any of this resonates with you.
- 1:10:31And we will definitely send you stickers for your story, which we do for anyone who gives us a story.
- 1:10:37Let's just read it and give us their address because we're not, we're not that psychic.
- 1:10:43- We're not trying to intuit that.
- 1:10:46- Yeah, it's just too much.
- 1:10:48There's only so many hours in the day.
- 1:10:52If you want us to keep creating content, that's just not how we're gonna be able to spend them.
- 1:10:59- And you can see on the altar here, we have one of the thank you cards, one of the little mini-terro envelopes that we send you with the teeny tiny card.
- 1:11:09It's so tiny, so don't lose it when you open it.
- 1:11:13Now, I realize some of you are familiar with how tiny that I am in terms of stature.
- 1:11:20Look at that.
- 1:11:21- I'm a giant.
- 1:11:22- It's a widow.
- 1:11:23I'm a giant.
- 1:11:24Holds like a tiny little derroga.
- 1:11:26- Yeah, so I think I said earlier, I just reached in the bag and ruffled around until I found one that was calling to me, thought about the stories or whatever happened today.
- 1:11:36So maybe we should read that interpretation.
- 1:11:39- The Wheel of Fortune.
- 1:11:42- I think you're my am.
- 1:11:43We get that one quite frequently.
- 1:11:45I feel like, and we just always relate it back to us because we are going to be so rich, so so.
- 1:11:53- Okay.
- 1:11:55The Wheel of Fortune, it's the 10th card in the major arcana.
- 1:12:01Keywords, change, destiny, unexpected turn of events.
- 1:12:08Good luck.
- 1:12:09- I'm assuming you pulled this in the upright.
- 1:12:15- It was, yeah.
- 1:12:16- Okay.
- 1:12:17- Some decks depict the Wheel of Fortune with eight spokes, a reference to the eight pagan sabats or holidays that mark the Sun's annual passage across the sky and the ever turning cycles of life.
- 1:12:33- And we got an 18.
- 1:12:35- We did.
- 1:12:36- On the mushroom.
- 1:12:38- Other decks show human or mythological figures attached to the Wheel indicating we're all tied to the Wheel of Time and subject to life's ups and downs.
- 1:12:51- Oh.
- 1:12:52- The Wheel of Time though, because I was like, I'm always saying all time happens all at once and I was saying she was going into these time warps in some sort of situations.
- 1:13:02- I didn't even think about that.
- 1:13:04- I did.
- 1:13:05- Wow.
- 1:13:06- Look at you.
- 1:13:07- Great.
- 1:13:08- Yeah.
- 1:13:09- The Rider Weight Smith deck includes winged versions of astrological symbols, which represent the four elements in the card's corners, suggesting the influence of divine forces.
- 1:13:25- Consciously or unconsciously, you've put something in motion and you now have little or no control over the outcome.
- 1:13:34- I mean, that seems accurate.
- 1:13:37- Based on the stories.
- 1:13:38- Yeah, someone who sees dead people going into a bunch of haunted houses.
- 1:13:43- Yeah.
- 1:13:44- A new phase in your life is beginning.
- 1:13:47An important decision must be made or an upcoming circumstance will change your life.
- 1:13:54Destiny is at work and you have to accept whatever happens.
- 1:13:58All you can do is attune yourself to the forces operating now.
- 1:14:03The Wheel of Fortune is linked to the three fates, collectively called the Marai, I'm thinking.
- 1:14:12- I feel like you say it that way every time, yeah.
- 1:14:15- That's because that's my best guess.
- 1:14:17- In Greek mythology, one spins the thread of life, the second weaves it and the third cuts it.
- 1:14:25Thus, the Wheel of Fortune is a reminder of the mysterious cycles of life, death and rebirth.
- 1:14:32And of the invisible forces that measure them out to each of us.
- 1:14:39- Damn!
- 1:14:40Damn!
- 1:14:41- You're going to be like that, Leon.
- 1:14:43- You're going to be like that, Leon.
- 1:14:44- You're going to be like that, Leon.
- 1:14:45- Shit, three stories, too.
- 1:14:47- That's true.
- 1:14:48A favorable outcome awaits you.
- 1:14:50Circumstances are changing for the better.
- 1:14:52- Yeah.
- 1:14:53- The last story, is that not the one with the freezer?
- 1:14:57Circumstances are changing for the better because you left that dead way behind.
- 1:15:02I'm willing to bet you lost 160 pounds or better.
- 1:15:07- Oh.
- 1:15:08- Was the roast 160 pounds?
- 1:15:13- No, but a better axe has been lost.
- 1:15:15- Oh, I see.
- 1:15:16- I was still stuck on the roast.
- 1:15:18- I just heard roast.
- 1:15:19- I was like 160 pounds of roast, I'll be right there.
- 1:15:24- How did she hold that up and the freezer?
- 1:15:29- Even if you aren't totally aware of what you've done to initiate the process,
- 1:15:35you've started the ball rolling, or rather, the wheel turning.
- 1:15:40Don't resist.
- 1:15:41These changes will promote growth and bring valuable learning experiences for you.
- 1:15:48It can be hard to stay balanced, but go with the flow and trust the process.
- 1:15:54- I feel like she's kind of doing that by just accepting it and being like,
- 1:15:57"Okay, this is the thing that happens."
- 1:15:59- Yeah.
- 1:16:00- So I'm curious what's going to happen next.
- 1:16:03- Well, tell me.
- 1:16:04- It's going to be good.
- 1:16:05- I'm telling you.
- 1:16:06- In a reading about money, this card harolds good fortune coming your way
- 1:16:12as a result of what you've already put into motion.
- 1:16:16Perhaps through a stroke of good luck, your finances improve.
- 1:16:21Seize opportunities that present themselves.
- 1:16:25If the reading is about your job, you may get a lucky break.
- 1:16:30Unexpected turns of events are likely, such as meeting all my fucking God.
- 1:16:37I skipped a hard you guys.
- 1:16:39I'm scanning as I'm reading.
- 1:16:41I don't know how my brain does this, but it does.
- 1:16:43Except it, get on board.
- 1:16:45Okay, this is where we are.
- 1:16:48Unexpected turns of events are likely, such as meeting people who can help you
- 1:16:54or receiving an offer out of the blue.
- 1:16:57Weird.
- 1:16:59I'm freaking the fuck out.
- 1:17:02Out of the blue, like the mushrooms.
- 1:17:06All this may appear for to this.
- 1:17:09It's all part of the grand plan for your life.
- 1:17:13We did put a lot of blue behind me too, and there's blue in yours.
- 1:17:17Yeah.
- 1:17:18I don't know.
- 1:17:19I was feeling it today, I guess, but I like to mix it up and kind of keep the colors interesting
- 1:17:25and maybe do color change.
- 1:17:28And the lapper derailleur.
- 1:17:30Yes, thank you.
- 1:17:31I always try to say it wrong.
- 1:17:33Because blue flashes.
- 1:17:35It does.
- 1:17:37Oh my gosh.
- 1:17:40I'm reading about love.
- 1:17:43A new romance may begin or an existing relationship may improve.
- 1:17:47Your relationship by divorce.
- 1:17:50I think it's like the relationship with the ghosties.
- 1:17:53Yeah, maybe.
- 1:17:54I hope they improve.
- 1:17:55Yeah.
- 1:17:56Even if you don't think you've done anything to make that happen.
- 1:18:00The time is right for this change.
- 1:18:02Enjoy it.
- 1:18:03Okay, I have an extra excerpt.
- 1:18:06The weekend read.
- 1:18:08It's often linked with karma, which Wikens describe in what's known as the Wikens read.
- 1:18:15By the Wikens law, you must.
- 1:18:18In perfect love and perfect trust.
- 1:18:21Eight words, the Wikens read, fulfill.
- 1:18:25And you harm none.
- 1:18:27Do what you will.
- 1:18:29What ye send forth comes back to thee.
- 1:18:32So ever mind the rule of three.
- 1:18:35Three stories.
- 1:18:37Okay, everyone only has to send us three stories at a time.
- 1:18:42Oh my god.
- 1:18:44Wow.
- 1:18:46For it to have so many number parallels with these stories when they're very disparate.
- 1:18:56Okay.
- 1:18:59Follow this with mind and heart.
- 1:19:02And marry you, meet and marry you part.
- 1:19:05That happened.
- 1:19:07She married someone and she parted.
- 1:19:09Yeah, it's not that kind of marriage.
- 1:19:12No, I know.
- 1:19:13It's like, marry Christmas.
- 1:19:16To me, this is like, I think of, I think of her three stories.
- 1:19:21And I feel like it may not have felt like it was a marry, you meet.
- 1:19:28But marry your part.
- 1:19:30That's true.
- 1:19:32And it seemed like you part ways in sort of a positive way.
- 1:19:38Do you think?
- 1:19:39I think so.
- 1:19:40I think things are feeling positive.
- 1:19:42But I like it.
- 1:19:43Jeannie, you'll definitely have to let us know.
- 1:19:45Yeah, please let us know.
- 1:19:47I think they're positive for us too.
- 1:19:49Just let us know that everything's okay.
- 1:19:52Girl, are you okay?
- 1:19:54You good?
- 1:19:56Yeah, definitely.
- 1:19:57Well, I talked about my story today too.
- 1:20:00I think that card 100% also applies to me.
- 1:20:03I think so.
- 1:20:04And us because you're like a part of me.
- 1:20:07Yeah.
- 1:20:08I am actually pulling up a few names that we need to shout out.
- 1:20:13I want to read these stickers first real quick.
- 1:20:15Okay.
- 1:20:16So we put little stickers on that are going out to various Patreon story people.
- 1:20:22Whoever gets them.
- 1:20:23But I thought they totally related to our story today.
- 1:20:27So the one on my side says happiness can be found even in the darkest of times.
- 1:20:32If only one remembers to turn on the light.
- 1:20:36And that is Albus Dumbledore.
- 1:20:39We were talking about Harry Potter for like a second.
- 1:20:42Okay.
- 1:20:43And I'm oh my god.
- 1:20:45No, turn on the light because she lights it out on the basement.
- 1:20:50I literally didn't even think of that when I pulled that out.
- 1:20:53That's so funny.
- 1:20:54I just like grab the two clothes and I was like these I think these are late.
- 1:20:59I mean, I fully understand that you picked this one with me and Matt.
- 1:21:03And that's it's funny because it's like this.
- 1:21:05Okay.
- 1:21:06Yeah, read it.
- 1:21:07Okay.
- 1:21:08Okay.
- 1:21:09I'm a leader not a follower.
- 1:21:12Unless it's dark, then you're going first.
- 1:21:17And that is motto that I live by.
- 1:21:20Yeah.
- 1:21:21Yeah, I definitely picked not thinking about you and not the fact that she was like in the dark too.
- 1:21:26I feel like that's a super like empathic like feels this book.
- 1:21:34Yeah.
- 1:21:35Leo.
- 1:21:36Like it's very specific.
- 1:21:37It's so niche.
- 1:21:38It's so like, look at me.
- 1:21:40I'm such hot shit unless it's scary.
- 1:21:43Well, before we skiddattle out of here, we have a couple of Patreon shout outs to do.
- 1:21:49I mean, I think for as a few.
- 1:21:52For as a good number and how many like free ones have we had like.
- 1:21:56Oh my god.
- 1:21:57Just out taste test us a little bit, you know.
- 1:22:00I was blown away the other day.
- 1:22:01I was like, holy shit.
- 1:22:02We have so many people that are like checking out.
- 1:22:05And free members.
- 1:22:06Yeah.
- 1:22:07By the way, we will not be naming individually all of the people that are doing like the free membership
- 1:22:14and like trying it out.
- 1:22:15We just can't.
- 1:22:16It's so many names.
- 1:22:18So here your name come out of our beautiful lips.
- 1:22:21You're sorry.
- 1:22:22Yeah.
- 1:22:23Listen, time is money and I don't.
- 1:22:29Well, let's get this going.
- 1:22:31I know we got to go go go go.
- 1:22:33The first person gave us money is Sheila who subscribed at the creepy people tier, which is a dollar.
- 1:22:42And she did the annual membership.
- 1:22:47So you pay it all at once.
- 1:22:49You get committed to a full year with us.
- 1:22:52Who wouldn't want to do that.
- 1:22:54Hello.
- 1:22:55Put a ring on it.
- 1:22:56And it's like a little bit discounted, right?
- 1:22:58It is.
- 1:22:59Yeah, it's a discount.
- 1:23:00Yeah.
- 1:23:01So thank you Sheila.
- 1:23:02Sheila.
- 1:23:03She shows down by the she shore.
- 1:23:05Oh.
- 1:23:06In her she shows.
- 1:23:07Yeah.
- 1:23:08We've done this.
- 1:23:09She she she.
- 1:23:10Listen, you know what?
- 1:23:12It's new to us every time we sit down at these desks.
- 1:23:15So if we've done it before we have no recollection.
- 1:23:19We are goldfish and I'm going to be honest.
- 1:23:23I have to assume that's part of our charm.
- 1:23:25I feel like you guys are too.
- 1:23:27Yeah.
- 1:23:28So that's fine.
- 1:23:29You could just read, listen to every episode.
- 1:23:30Like a bunch of times.
- 1:23:32Okay.
- 1:23:33So we have Caroline.
- 1:23:35Ooh.
- 1:23:36Caroline.
- 1:23:37Caroline.
- 1:23:38Like from New Girl, like Nicksex Girlfriend Caroline.
- 1:23:42Totally.
- 1:23:43And like the subject of many many many many many songs.
- 1:23:48Sweet Caroline.
- 1:23:51Ba ba ba.
- 1:23:53[laughs]
- 1:23:56Um, she is joining us at the creepy people tier.
- 1:24:02And she too.
- 1:24:04I subscribe for a whole year.
- 1:24:06All the way from across the bone.
- 1:24:11What?
- 1:24:12Uh huh.
- 1:24:13Hi.
- 1:24:14Hey.
- 1:24:15Sorry about the terrible accents.
- 1:24:16I know what it is.
- 1:24:17I spent like three days in London and I was like,
- 1:24:20I'm never leaving.
- 1:24:22But you did.
- 1:24:23And then I did.
- 1:24:24I know.
- 1:24:25I'm a monster.
- 1:24:26Shh.
- 1:24:27I want subsettin Caroline to let us know how often people sing sweet Caroline at her.
- 1:24:33Because I feel like she might hate us after that.
- 1:24:37Sorry about it.
- 1:24:38You already committed to the full year.
- 1:24:40We do it from love.
- 1:24:41Yeah.
- 1:24:42Also, are you across the pond stone?
- 1:24:46I'm very curious.
- 1:24:48Because we don't get a lot of data.
- 1:24:51Okay.
- 1:24:52And I don't want to make it creepy.
- 1:24:53And we're not going to share too much with anybody else.
- 1:24:55Obviously.
- 1:24:56But I want to know how you found us.
- 1:24:59The internet.
- 1:25:00What?
- 1:25:01Uh huh.
- 1:25:02Yeah.
- 1:25:03You and everybody else.
- 1:25:04Tell me more.
- 1:25:05Yeah.
- 1:25:06Let us know.
- 1:25:07Let us know.
- 1:25:08We also have Bethany joining our ranks.
- 1:25:12She is a monthly subscriber at the creepy people tier.
- 1:25:17Thanks, Bethany.
- 1:25:18Hi, Bethany.
- 1:25:19I've always kind of liked the name Bethany.
- 1:25:22I do too.
- 1:25:23Yeah.
- 1:25:24I like it.
- 1:25:25I don't know.
- 1:25:26Do you go by Beth ever or is that more like a bell in Elizabeth thing?
- 1:25:29Yeah.
- 1:25:30I think I, if my name was Bethany, I think I would probably go by Beth.
- 1:25:34Yeah.
- 1:25:35Oh, really?
- 1:25:36I was like Bethany.
- 1:25:37I mean, I do too, but a lot of times people shorten it up, right?
- 1:25:40Yeah.
- 1:25:41It was like three syllables, right?
- 1:25:42Yeah.
- 1:25:43I did clap in my head.
- 1:25:44Yeah.
- 1:25:45Huh?
- 1:25:46Anyways.
- 1:25:47Bethany!
- 1:25:48Okay.
- 1:25:49Next we have Sue, who signed up as an annual member.
- 1:25:59Another one at the creepy people tier.
- 1:26:02Oh, love tier.
- 1:26:03So we have a lot of creepy people who have just committed to a year with us.
- 1:26:08Great.
- 1:26:09I mean, yeah.
- 1:26:10I'm over here like DJ Khaled.
- 1:26:13Sue, what's up?
- 1:26:14You know, another one.
- 1:26:16I don't know.
- 1:26:17Listen, there's a reason I'm not a, I'm not trying to make a rap career flourish.
- 1:26:25I gotta go.
- 1:26:26I know.
- 1:26:27I know.
- 1:26:28She's like, I gotta get a hold hostage here.
- 1:26:30I'll take a bye-bye.
- 1:26:31Sue, save me.
- 1:26:32Help me out of here.
- 1:26:34Thank you all so much for joining our Patreon.
- 1:26:41If anyone else interested, you can find the link to that in our link tree, which is always
- 1:26:45in the show notes.
- 1:26:46It's on our Instagram.
- 1:26:47It's everywhere.
- 1:26:48It's everywhere on everything.
- 1:26:49We have a website.
- 1:26:50Just type in the NW Johansson homicides into Google.
- 1:26:52It'll take you to the website and to everything.
- 1:26:55Yes.
- 1:26:56And the name of the show.
- 1:26:57So easy.
- 1:26:58So easy.
- 1:26:59Even a caveman could do it.
- 1:27:01Talked about you insulting them.
- 1:27:04Oh, I thought you were going to be a little bit worried about like if that was like trademark
- 1:27:09infringement with.
- 1:27:10I don't know.
- 1:27:11Maybe.
- 1:27:12Well, I guess we'll see what happens.
- 1:27:13If we get sued, bring it back to Sue.
- 1:27:17Sue.
- 1:27:18Listen, we can tie any two things together.
- 1:27:23We need are very good at connecting the invisible strings.
- 1:27:28Indeed.
- 1:27:29Indeed.
- 1:27:30Although this one I feel like some of this was just, I'm like, listen, okay, you don't have
- 1:27:35to be woo-woo, but you got to admit.
- 1:27:37That was kind of crazy.
- 1:27:38You got to admit.
- 1:27:39Come on.
- 1:27:40Well, let's, we should get out of here before anything else.
- 1:27:44Crazy.
- 1:27:45Crazy.
- 1:27:46I know I think the thunder and lightning is pretty much.
- 1:27:49Yeah.
- 1:27:50It's a non-event now.
- 1:27:51Yeah.
- 1:27:52I'm going to calm down a little bit.
- 1:27:54All the creepy stories were done and I was like, all right, well, I guess you don't need
- 1:27:57me anymore.
- 1:27:58Yeah.
- 1:27:59Have a creepy ass day.
- 1:28:03See you next Tuesday.
- 1:28:04See you next Tuesday.
- 1:28:05Unless I get hit by a hillstone.
- 1:28:08Oh, we were.
- 1:28:10Okay, listen, they're not that big, but like they're pretty big.
- 1:28:14They're pretty big.
- 1:28:15They could knock you out.
- 1:28:16If they hit you right in the table.
- 1:28:18It's a hit.
- 1:28:19Yeah.
- 1:28:20Not just hat racks, we are.
- 1:28:22No, we're sharing the same hat rack.
- 1:28:26Oh my God.
- 1:28:27I was going to say, um, we'll see you next Tuesday, unless we are from the past and you're
- 1:28:35seeing us in a time slip just real quick.
- 1:28:38And then you, you slip back into your future and then you don't see us anymore.
- 1:28:43Okay, great.
- 1:28:44Yeah.
- 1:28:45Everyone else have a good day.
- 1:28:46I don't actually really do.
- 1:28:47I feel like we should have stuck with mine.
- 1:28:49That was scary.
- 1:28:50I like mine.
- 1:28:51Okay.
- 1:28:52Okay.
- 1:28:53We'll end on scary.
- 1:28:54All right.
- 1:28:55Should I do a trigger warning?
- 1:28:56Oh my God.
- 1:28:57Okay.
- 1:28:58Let's get used to maybe profan, baby love.
- 1:29:01Oh my goodness.
- 1:29:02Bye.
- 1:29:03Thank you guys.
- 1:29:04But for real, so goodbye.
- 1:29:05Unless you're going to do it.
- 1:29:06I'm not a good player.
- 1:29:07Unless you're going to do it. pnwhauntsandhomicides.com
