- 0:00Speaker 1: I have come to terms with who I think the
- 0:02Speaker 1: Eagles next offensive coordinator will be. We'll talk about that
- 0:06Speaker 1: and more. Jeff Bosher from the Inside of the Birds
- 0:09Speaker 1: podcast is here on the Sports Past Live on ninety
- 0:12Speaker 1: seven three ESPN most Welcome back Man, Happy Wednesday to
- 0:17Speaker 1: you Birds Day twenty. I don't know thirty forty fifty
- 0:21Speaker 1: without a offensive coordinator here, but I now think I
- 0:24Speaker 1: know who it's going to be.
- 0:25Speaker 2: Do you have a leader? A guess? Are you coming
- 0:29Speaker 2: to are you picking up tea leaves? Do you have
- 0:31Speaker 2: any guess?
- 0:32Speaker 3: At this point, I'd much rather just hear who you
- 0:35Speaker 3: think is going to be the OC.
- 0:37Speaker 1: Okay, it's gonna be Sean Manyon. He will be the
- 0:40Speaker 1: next offensive coordinator.
- 0:42Speaker 3: He's just because he's coming in for a second interview.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Well, and he's coming in for a second interview.
- 0:47Speaker 1: The Eagles pride themselves on finding the guy that wasn't
- 0:52Speaker 1: on anybody's radar, Andy Reid, Doug Peterson, Nick Sirianni, and
- 0:56Speaker 1: this is the guy that they will say is the
- 0:58Speaker 1: next thing. He's you know, there's people saying he's gonna
- 1:01Speaker 1: be a head coach.
- 1:01Speaker 2: They love him.
- 1:02Speaker 1: He was gonna he's gonna be the next head coach
- 1:03Speaker 1: in Green Bat YadA, YadA, YadA. I believe the Eagles
- 1:07Speaker 1: are trying to find a way to spin this, to
- 1:09Speaker 1: say we're gonna hire a guy who hasn't been a
- 1:10Speaker 1: play caller before, YadA YadA.
- 1:12Speaker 2: We this is our.
- 1:14Speaker 1: Guy because there isn't another candidate out there that if
- 1:17Speaker 1: they announced today, that anybody's gonna be excited about. So
- 1:20Speaker 1: they're gonna say, we can't excite anybody, we'll just take
- 1:23Speaker 1: the guy that we Not that they're trying to do
- 1:24Speaker 1: that anyway, but we'll just take the In that case,
- 1:27Speaker 1: we gotta spin any guy that we're gonna hire. Any
- 1:30Speaker 1: if you hired Matt Naggy, a guy who has a
- 1:32Speaker 1: winning record as a head coach, people aren't gonna be
- 1:35Speaker 1: all that excited. So they're gonna have to spin any
- 1:37Speaker 1: of these guys. So they might as well just pick
- 1:39Speaker 1: the guy they like the best.
- 1:41Speaker 3: Well, I think in general, you should pick the guy
- 1:44Speaker 3: that you like the bet after you cast a wise
- 1:48Speaker 3: I say.
- 1:48Speaker 1: That as if they're going to like do it based
- 1:51Speaker 1: on what we and the fans think. That's not what
- 1:53Speaker 1: I'm implying. My point is more like they have nothing
- 1:57Speaker 1: like if this is the guy, and I think this
- 1:59Speaker 1: will be the guy.
- 2:01Speaker 3: Well, I get what you're saying, and they certainly have
- 2:03Speaker 3: a track record of not only kicking tires on all
- 2:07Speaker 3: sorts of candidates for coaching jobs, but of getting a.
- 2:11Speaker 4: Guy that nobody's I mean nobody heard of Nick Sirianni, right,
- 2:15Speaker 4: So they.
- 2:15Speaker 2: Have not a lot of people heard of Doug Peterson either.
- 2:18Speaker 1: The only reason that Doug was known in this market
- 2:21Speaker 1: is because he played here and was with Andy. But
- 2:25Speaker 1: I think if you were, like, if you went to
- 2:27Speaker 1: Tennessee or Cincinnati or anywhere and said, hey, Doug Peterson,
- 2:31Speaker 1: he wasn't on anybody's radar.
- 2:34Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:35Speaker 3: Yeah, So yes, they do have that track record and
- 2:38Speaker 3: they have had success with finding the guy that not
- 2:41Speaker 3: everybody wanted. And you know, if I had a formula
- 2:45Speaker 3: that worked out really well for me in the past,
- 2:47Speaker 3: I'd probably stick with it as well.
- 2:50Speaker 4: But you know, then you'll have some contradictory formulas, right.
- 2:53Speaker 3: I mean that would mean, for the third time in
- 2:58Speaker 3: five offensive play callers, you're hiring with no experience doing so,
- 3:02Speaker 3: and even less amount of NFL coaching experience doing so,
- 3:07Speaker 3: and bringing him into your cocoon here and expecting.
- 3:11Speaker 4: Him to succeed because you really like what he says.
- 3:15Speaker 3: Philosophically, it's one thing to, you know, explain what you
- 3:20Speaker 3: like to do, what you are, what your philosophies are,
- 3:23Speaker 3: and it's another thing than to take the personnel given
- 3:25Speaker 3: to you and to be.
- 3:26Speaker 4: Able to do it. So we'll see.
- 3:28Speaker 3: I mean, this guy's only just this guy is very
- 3:31Speaker 3: shortly removed from actually playing two years.
- 3:34Speaker 1: And I remember him being a lousy quarterback in the NFL,
- 3:37Speaker 1: which is exactly what I want when I'm looking for
- 3:39Speaker 1: my next guy.
- 3:40Speaker 2: I want a guy who's stunk on the field.
- 3:42Speaker 1: I'm kidding a little bit, but yeah, you know what
- 3:45Speaker 1: I mean.
- 3:45Speaker 2: I mean, these are the guys who make it.
- 3:48Speaker 3: Quarterbacks are always the great coaches, right, the Sean Payton's
- 3:51Speaker 3: of the world, And you can go through and find
- 3:52Speaker 3: a bunch of them.
- 3:53Speaker 1: Right, And he is a guy that you know has
- 3:57Speaker 1: been you know in here. Not even a play caller,
- 4:01Speaker 1: he's not even an offensive coordinator. But he's one of
- 4:03Speaker 1: those guys that you're just kind of like Josh McCown
- 4:04Speaker 1: a couple of years ago, like, ah, this guy right here,
- 4:08Speaker 1: he's probably the guy that might end up, you know,
- 4:09Speaker 1: being something here. And as you said and I and
- 4:12Speaker 1: I echo, is the Eagles, when they have hired from outside,
- 4:17Speaker 1: not a pointing from within, they have won. They got
- 4:22Speaker 1: Andy Reid, he was a nobody, he was a quarterback coach,
- 4:25Speaker 1: nobody ever heard of the guy. They got Doug Peterson,
- 4:28Speaker 1: they got Nick Sirianni. So whenever they interview, whatever you said,
- 4:32Speaker 1: whatever their you know, method is their due diligence. You
- 4:36Speaker 1: really can't question them on it. It's when they have
- 4:38Speaker 1: promoted from within that they have got themselves into into trouble.
- 4:42Speaker 4: Yeah, and I don't really know that. There's a big
- 4:44Speaker 4: difference on that. You know some of that.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Well, I will say the big difference and see if
- 4:49Speaker 1: you agree or disagree motion is you have guys and
- 4:52Speaker 1: you had success, and you don't want to rock the boat.
- 4:56Speaker 1: It's hey, we went to the super Bowl with Shane.
- 4:59Speaker 1: Let's just kind of streamline it to Brian. Hey, we
- 5:02Speaker 1: won the super Bowl with Kellen. That's kind of streamline
- 5:06Speaker 1: that to a voice that was here. So we don't
- 5:08Speaker 1: want a new guy coming in and saying let's do
- 5:10Speaker 1: this and do that and do this and do that. No,
- 5:12Speaker 1: we want to do what we've been doing, and maybe
- 5:14Speaker 1: that's backfired on them.
- 5:16Speaker 3: Yeah, and maybe, but you can't you know that's that's
- 5:18Speaker 3: not a bad line of thinking either. The whole point
- 5:21Speaker 3: of bringing people into your program and promoting them and
- 5:25Speaker 3: into your culture. And you hear Howie Roseman talk about
- 5:27Speaker 3: this with his GM or his execs who become gms,
- 5:30Speaker 3: that they consider that a merit badge.
- 5:32Speaker 4: They came in here, they.
- 5:33Speaker 3: Learned, they did their thing, they helped out the franchise
- 5:36Speaker 3: in their role, and then moved on to do well.
- 5:38Speaker 3: I mean not theoretically you want that. So there's nothing
- 5:41Speaker 3: really wrong with that line of thinking. It's just that
- 5:44Speaker 3: when it doesn't work out, it looks like your line
- 5:46Speaker 3: of thinking was incorrect. But it doesn't mean that just
- 5:49Speaker 3: because you're bring in somebody from the outside that that's
- 5:51Speaker 3: going to be correct.
- 5:52Speaker 4: Yes, it were for Kella Moore. Sure, that's one. You know, Well,
- 5:55Speaker 4: I guess we'll have to go see.
- 5:57Speaker 3: I mean, we can't really count Shane Steichen because that
- 5:59Speaker 3: was a whole new staff in general coming You call
- 6:04Speaker 3: that outside end inside. So, I mean, I don't know
- 6:07Speaker 3: that there's one one way to look at it here, Mike,
- 6:09Speaker 3: you just want to get the best guy, and obviously
- 6:11Speaker 3: if you go with a guy like Sean Mannon, you know,
- 6:14Speaker 3: then you probably have the ability to I mean, a
- 6:18Speaker 3: guy like Sean Manion wants the opportunity. So some guys
- 6:22Speaker 3: may be concerned about this, that and the other, whether
- 6:24Speaker 3: it's you know, the offense of the run games still
- 6:27Speaker 3: in place from the offensive line coach, or whether or
- 6:29Speaker 3: not a J.
- 6:30Speaker 4: Brown's going to be here.
- 6:31Speaker 3: Or getting along with Gillen hurts, you know, like that
- 6:34Speaker 3: might be a turn off for guys who are higher profile,
- 6:37Speaker 3: but not for someone who's starting to have the job.
- 6:40Speaker 1: Well, you wrote about this at Philly Voice. Are they
- 6:43Speaker 1: a victim of their own success here? It's interesting because
- 6:50Speaker 1: they've won eleven games, they won the division back to back,
- 6:53Speaker 1: and this.
- 6:54Speaker 2: Year is viewed as kind of a fail.
- 6:56Speaker 1: So the success of if you are not a super
- 7:00Speaker 1: Bowl contender, you're almost viewed in this market now as
- 7:05Speaker 1: you failed. Are you suggesting that these coaches don't want
- 7:08Speaker 1: to be a part of that.
- 7:11Speaker 4: Well, I've seen a lot of people or whatever.
- 7:15Speaker 3: I try not to pay attention to what social media says,
- 7:17Speaker 3: but it's been out there that you know, this is
- 7:20Speaker 3: the Eagles fault, you know that they're not a good destination,
- 7:24Speaker 3: No enough for that.
- 7:25Speaker 4: But yeah, yes they've been good.
- 7:26Speaker 3: But also you know, look they fire guys after eleven
- 7:29Speaker 3: win seasons and one guy gets his house egged.
- 7:32Speaker 4: And you know that, you know all different reasons.
- 7:36Speaker 3: And Nick Sirianni, he's not someone people who want to
- 7:39Speaker 3: go work with because you might have to run his offense.
- 7:42Speaker 3: And I say, any anybody can say any of those things,
- 7:44Speaker 3: and they're true.
- 7:45Speaker 4: But would you trade that?
- 7:47Speaker 3: Would you trade five straight trips in the playoffs, two
- 7:51Speaker 3: super Bowl trips and a Super Bowl ring for making
- 7:54Speaker 3: your offensive coordinator.
- 7:55Speaker 4: Job look more appealing? No?
- 7:57Speaker 3: And the like only Aj Brown would do that apparently, Okay,
- 8:01Speaker 3: so most rational people wouldn't. So that's where the Eagles
- 8:05Speaker 3: become a victim of their own success, is that they
- 8:07Speaker 3: have done it this way and succeeded. But that's not
- 8:12Speaker 3: the way that maybe the most attractive way that someone
- 8:16Speaker 3: like Mike McDaniel O'Brian dable would want to conduct their
- 8:21Speaker 3: way of doing things. And so why so the Eagles
- 8:24Speaker 3: have to confront like they do.
- 8:26Speaker 4: They change radically how they do things?
- 8:29Speaker 3: Do they open up their offensive coordinator position as someone
- 8:33Speaker 3: who's willing to come in and tear it down and
- 8:35Speaker 3: gut it out and make changes and all that when
- 8:38Speaker 3: they don't exactly know what that would lead to, or
- 8:41Speaker 3: do they just trying to get the best version of
- 8:45Speaker 3: what they've already had.
- 8:46Speaker 4: And I don't know what the right answer is, Mike,
- 8:49Speaker 4: I mean.
- 8:49Speaker 2: Do you think they have to?
- 8:51Speaker 1: Like last year, one of the issues was, you know,
- 8:54Speaker 1: Patullo struggles and people are calling for him to be
- 8:57Speaker 1: fired in season they didn't have anybody to go to,
- 9:00Speaker 1: Like there was nobody on the staff that really had
- 9:03Speaker 1: any sort of seniority or.
- 9:05Speaker 2: A pass of handling that position.
- 9:08Speaker 1: But like when they're interviewing this guy, is this a
- 9:11Speaker 1: guy that they're looking at as hey, you're a one
- 9:14Speaker 1: and done or you might be the guy that replaces
- 9:17Speaker 1: Nick if things don't go well.
- 9:20Speaker 2: A guy the way is like head coaching rabtas No.
- 9:23Speaker 3: I doubt that if things don't go well, then the
- 9:25Speaker 3: whole house gets cleaned. You know that that's the organizational
- 9:28Speaker 3: history of it. You know that wouldn't happen now. I
- 9:30Speaker 3: would tell you that. I think that if they hire
- 9:33Speaker 3: a Sewan Mannion or at Declan Doyle, I know he's
- 9:36Speaker 3: taking the thing mat.
- 9:37Speaker 4: I'm just giving you.
- 9:37Speaker 3: Guys right, it would be really smart for them to
- 9:40Speaker 3: bring in a senior offensive advisor as well, But that's
- 9:44Speaker 3: rule of thumb for me. This organization has not not
- 9:47Speaker 3: necessarily succeeded in that regard because two years ago they
- 9:51Speaker 3: did that with Sean Desig and they bring in Matt
- 9:53Speaker 3: Patricia and that was an absolute mess.
- 9:55Speaker 4: So sometimes this organization is a tough.
- 9:57Speaker 3: Tough time getting out of its own way because it
- 10:00Speaker 3: it wants too many things it wants. You know, this
- 10:02Speaker 3: goes back to Doug Peterson and let's have four different
- 10:05Speaker 3: offensive minds in that last year when it blew up, right.
- 10:08Speaker 3: I mean, the Eagles are a great organization, trust me.
- 10:10Speaker 3: I'm not trying to downplay it, but there are some
- 10:13Speaker 3: reasons why they hit these peaks and valleys and maybe
- 10:16Speaker 3: like teams like you know, I think I brought up
- 10:18Speaker 3: in the article, like the Patriots under Brady and the
- 10:21Speaker 3: Chiefs under Andy up until this year really haven't had
- 10:25Speaker 3: those valleys. Because sometimes the Eagles have a tough time
- 10:27Speaker 3: getting out of their own way.
- 10:30Speaker 1: If I was to ask Jeff Mosher, what are the
- 10:33Speaker 1: things that might what are the things that might be
- 10:37Speaker 1: a distraction to this position, this job here because I
- 10:42Speaker 1: was laughing this morn I said, I can arbitrarily throw
- 10:45Speaker 1: out the number six and come up with six reasons
- 10:48Speaker 1: why someone wouldn't want this job. Do you have reasons
- 10:51Speaker 1: in your mind some of the key reasons why someone
- 10:54Speaker 1: wouldn't look at this job as the Philadelphia Eagles, super
- 10:58Speaker 1: Bowl and the Super Bowl, great offensive weapons, they put
- 11:04Speaker 1: a lot of money, they always draft, I mean they
- 11:06Speaker 1: draft well, they're always gonna put the product on the field.
- 11:09Speaker 2: What would some of.
- 11:10Speaker 1: The reasons in your mind be that people are questioning
- 11:13Speaker 1: this position as we almost hit February.
- 11:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean there's We've kind of talked about a
- 11:19Speaker 3: bunch of them, and this is just my opinion. I've
- 11:21Speaker 3: run this up through people around the league to see
- 11:23Speaker 3: if they agree or what insight they can provide.
- 11:26Speaker 4: I mean, first of all, you.
- 11:28Speaker 3: Know, the Eagles have done it. We just talked about this.
- 11:29Speaker 3: They've done it a certain way for five years. Okay,
- 11:33Speaker 3: so you're looking at do I have to do it
- 11:35Speaker 3: their way?
- 11:37Speaker 4: Okay?
- 11:37Speaker 3: Does that mean all the pop the coaches who are
- 11:39Speaker 3: still here have to be here?
- 11:40Speaker 4: Do you have to run the ball the way they've
- 11:42Speaker 4: run the ball? Do I have to pass the ball?
- 11:44Speaker 3: If not, if I'm allowed that full autonomy, well what
- 11:46Speaker 3: does that mean? Because I don't. And then this leads
- 11:49Speaker 3: to number two. Is the offensive line going to be healthy?
- 11:52Speaker 3: Is Aj Brown gonna come back? You know, there's a
- 11:53Speaker 3: lot of question marks. If we win eleven games, but
- 11:56Speaker 3: that's not good enough of losing the first round? Are
- 11:58Speaker 3: you firing Nick Sirianni, because that means I don't have
- 12:00Speaker 3: a job either. But if I go to Tennessee, I
- 12:02Speaker 3: know that if I win like eight games, right then
- 12:05Speaker 3: I'm doing pretty well. I'm going to be a hero.
- 12:07Speaker 3: If I win anywhere between six and eight games, it's
- 12:09Speaker 3: an improvement. So those are three factors right there that
- 12:14Speaker 3: would make you look at the job and give you
- 12:16Speaker 3: a little pause.
- 12:17Speaker 4: And that doesn't mean the job's bad. It just means
- 12:19Speaker 4: there's question marks.
- 12:20Speaker 3: People who just got fired, especially Mike McDaniel, Brian Diable,
- 12:25Speaker 3: they don't The last thing these guys ever want to
- 12:27Speaker 3: do is go take a job where there's a I
- 12:31Speaker 3: don't want to call it a strong likelihood, but there's
- 12:33Speaker 3: a question about will they get fired again the next year?
- 12:38Speaker 3: And obviously, if the egos don't do well next year,
- 12:41Speaker 3: Nick Siriani is going to definitely be on the hot
- 12:43Speaker 3: seat and potentially be fired. We know the history of
- 12:46Speaker 3: this organization here, so I'm sure that.
- 12:49Speaker 4: And by the way, these candidates all do research too.
- 12:51Speaker 3: They ask around for people who've worked there, people who
- 12:54Speaker 3: don't work there, or people who know the organization, and
- 12:57Speaker 3: they get those kinds of information as well. So I mean,
- 13:00Speaker 3: those three right there, three or four that I just
- 13:01Speaker 3: mentioned are are factors. We really don't know what this
- 13:05Speaker 3: offense is gonna look like next year.
- 13:07Speaker 2: Mike, No, no, we don't, and you know we could certainly.
- 13:10Speaker 1: I said, if it's good and bad, right, you know
- 13:14Speaker 1: where the Super Bowls going up this week, you're you're
- 13:16Speaker 1: looking at what's going on. The Eagle still don't have
- 13:18Speaker 1: a coordinator, So that's something that you're discussing because if not,
- 13:20Speaker 1: you're really breaking down this roster at nauseum and saying, man,
- 13:24Speaker 1: you know, where do you start to look? Because pick
- 13:25Speaker 1: twenty three to me can go in a lot of
- 13:27Speaker 1: different ways. And I know we're way off that draft,
- 13:30Speaker 1: but you need a tight end. You don't have one
- 13:32Speaker 1: on the roster other than LAT two, So you need
- 13:35Speaker 1: a tight end. Is that a pick at twenty three?
- 13:37Speaker 1: You need to rebuild the offensive line? Is that something
- 13:40Speaker 1: you consider at that spot? You probably if you don't
- 13:42Speaker 1: bring Jalen Phillips back, you need an edge rusher again,
- 13:46Speaker 1: a corner opposite of Quinnon. You need probably to look
- 13:50Speaker 1: at that spot. You probably don't draft a safety, but
- 13:53Speaker 1: if Red blankets it leads, you probably got to consider
- 13:56Speaker 1: that somewhere in this draft class. So you're pretty unsettled
- 14:00Speaker 1: there because if Mcoopa comes back and he's your senior
- 14:02Speaker 1: guy at that position, this roster definitely has a lot
- 14:05Speaker 1: of questions in it for a team that won the
- 14:08Speaker 1: division for the second year in a row and is
- 14:10Speaker 1: a super Bowl a year away from a Super Bowl.
- 14:13Speaker 3: Yeah, and let's be fair, like, Howie has a great
- 14:16Speaker 3: track record of making things work and making it good.
- 14:21Speaker 3: So there's always that I'm not saying they're going to
- 14:23Speaker 3: be terrible, but I think if you're an offensive coordinator specifically,
- 14:27Speaker 3: and you know the team has been built around its
- 14:28Speaker 3: offensive line and you just saw that, you know, two
- 14:31Speaker 3: guys were really banged up on three and one of
- 14:33Speaker 3: them you don't know is he' retiring? Is he coming
- 14:36Speaker 3: back to play? How's his foot. He couldn't he couldn't
- 14:38Speaker 3: get back on the field. Like you know, you have
- 14:40Speaker 3: to make these decisions in a short amount of time too,
- 14:43Speaker 3: most of the time because you got other people calling
- 14:45Speaker 3: you with with more offers and things like that. So
- 14:48Speaker 3: oh and you know, like there's also the fish bowl
- 14:50Speaker 3: of Philadelphia. That's not for everybody, all.
- 14:53Speaker 1: Right, Jeff Boscher from the Inside the Birds podcast Football
- 14:55Speaker 1: at four. And of course the offseason, as we just said,
- 14:58Speaker 1: you got the draft, free agency, they got their own
- 15:00Speaker 1: free agent questions too, with Reid blanket Ship being one,
- 15:04Speaker 1: Jalen Phillips being another, Nakobe Dean being probably high on
- 15:10Speaker 1: that list as somebody that you're going to have to
- 15:11Speaker 1: figure out. I would imagine you let him walk because
- 15:14Speaker 1: you have Campbell there. So you have those three key
- 15:17Speaker 1: names because last year you had these key decisions and
- 15:20Speaker 1: you let most of those guys walk out the door.
- 15:22Speaker 1: You rebuilt the defense pretty quickly. But can you take
- 15:26Speaker 1: the hits of losing blanket Ship, losing Phillips, losing Dean.
- 15:30Speaker 2: There's three more starters.
- 15:31Speaker 1: Now you have one guy in house with Campbell that
- 15:33Speaker 1: you think that you have, but there's a lot did
- 15:36Speaker 1: Hallie Roseman's gonna have to do this offseason, which I
- 15:38Speaker 1: think got to hit you pretty quickly.
- 15:40Speaker 4: Yeah, for sure, for sure, it certainly didn't.
- 15:43Speaker 2: You know.
- 15:43Speaker 3: My colleague get Philly Voice, Nick Tricom, wrote a really
- 15:45Speaker 3: good column today about you know, winning it in twenty
- 15:48Speaker 3: seventeen and tough decisions and then trying to replace holes
- 15:52Speaker 3: and it just didn't go well, and they progressively got worse.
- 15:55Speaker 4: You know. Obviously the Eagles have been able.
- 15:57Speaker 3: To withstand that the second time round, you know, after
- 16:00Speaker 3: going to the Super Bowl and winning it and keeping
- 16:03Speaker 3: the roster. I mean, he's how he was drafted so
- 16:05Speaker 3: much better last few years than he did in twenty
- 16:09Speaker 3: seventeen and beyond.
- 16:10Speaker 4: But there are questions and you.
- 16:13Speaker 3: Can't afford that much slippage, you know, and it's hard
- 16:15Speaker 3: to be perfect every season or offseason.
- 16:17Speaker 2: So that's a big thing.
- 16:19Speaker 3: Every once in a while, you got to have a
- 16:20Speaker 3: fifty three that's not miles and miles ahead of everybody
- 16:23Speaker 3: else's and actually win on your own coaching and personnel acumen.
- 16:27Speaker 2: And that's a big thing. You just said, they've hit
- 16:29Speaker 2: on so many of these guys.
- 16:31Speaker 1: At what point does that magic pixie does finally, you
- 16:34Speaker 1: know where you've hit on Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis
- 16:37Speaker 1: and you know Nolan s Yeah, Coop for every single
- 16:41Speaker 1: one of these guys. What was the last time they
- 16:43Speaker 1: had a first or second round you know, like a
- 16:45Speaker 1: guy that they drifted high?
- 16:46Speaker 4: What's that rager? Probably that long ago?
- 16:49Speaker 2: Wow? Yeah?
- 16:50Speaker 4: And that whole draft was, other than Herts, was abysmal.
- 16:53Speaker 3: It was Davion Taylor in the third round, and Kevan
- 16:56Speaker 3: Wallace in the fourth round, and Drag Driscoll in the
- 16:58Speaker 3: fourth round and John Hidetown in the fifth. I believe
- 17:01Speaker 3: in Qles Watkins in the sequall. I'm doing this completely
- 17:04Speaker 3: by the way, off my head. I think I'm doing
- 17:06Speaker 3: pretty good here. But that was a horrific, horrific draft,
- 17:09Speaker 3: except for the fact that they got a starting quarterback
- 17:11Speaker 3: slash Super Bowl MVP out of it. But ever since
- 17:14Speaker 3: then they've been pretty pretty decent. On Day one and two,
- 17:16Speaker 3: Day three not so great.
- 17:18Speaker 1: All right, Jeff Boucher and the Inside of the Birds podcast,
- 17:22Speaker 1: which of course we have all off season long rebuilding
- 17:25Speaker 1: these Eagles. We'll be at the super Bowl next week.
- 17:27Speaker 1: You won't be there. Adam is gonna be at radio
- 17:30Speaker 1: Rowan Adam will be a part of our show throughout
- 17:33Speaker 1: the Wednesday, Thursday Friday. You'll be hearing him on Football
- 17:36Speaker 1: four and a little bit more throughout the show, and
- 17:39Speaker 1: we're gonna be hopefully talking to some of these Eagles
- 17:42Speaker 1: players about this season. We do have Donovan McNabb coming
- 17:45Speaker 1: on next week. That is one guy that we will
- 17:47Speaker 1: talk about the quarterback position there and hopefully a couple
- 17:51Speaker 1: of others, you know, to find out what they think
- 17:53Speaker 1: about what happened this season and why things didn't go
- 17:56Speaker 1: as planned, specifically on the offensive sidewalk. You know what's
- 18:00Speaker 1: interesting too, motion One of the guests that we're working
- 18:02Speaker 1: on is one of the defensive backs from the Rams,
- 18:06Speaker 1: Quinton Leak. And I want to talk to Quinton Lake
- 18:10Speaker 1: because in that game against the Eagles, he had his
- 18:12Speaker 1: best day of the season.
- 18:13Speaker 2: It's four.
- 18:15Speaker 1: I think he had four pass defenses in that game.
- 18:17Speaker 1: It was the most add in a game all season long.
- 18:19Speaker 1: And I'm asking wondering about why do you have so
- 18:23Speaker 1: many pass breakups in that game? Was there offense that vanilla?
- 18:27Speaker 1: So I want to get some insight from a Rams
- 18:29Speaker 1: corner about this Eagles pass offense.
- 18:32Speaker 2: So he's going to be joining us on the show.
- 18:34Speaker 3: Yeah, I believe they blitzed heavily in the first half
- 18:36Speaker 3: and then completely stopped in the second half, and that's
- 18:38Speaker 3: when the Eagles went in the tank. So probably some
- 18:40Speaker 3: good questions there on whether that was intentional, Did they
- 18:43Speaker 3: think showing him one thing and then showing him another
- 18:45Speaker 3: thing was the plan or that, you know, I would
- 18:47Speaker 3: love to know all that.
- 18:48Speaker 1: Yeah, well we're working on that one as well, So
- 18:51Speaker 1: looking forward to next week. Jeff Bocher from the Inside
- 18:53Speaker 1: of the Birds podcast Philly Voice dot com.
- 18:55Speaker 2: Thanks man, see you guys.
