- 0:00Speaker 1: Late Wait, welcome the Late Bait.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Hello and welcome to the Late Debate.
- 0:09Speaker 3: Thank you for your company this evening, I'm Gabriella Power
- 0:12Speaker 3: and joining us is Joe Hildebrand and Freileach. Coming up,
- 0:17Speaker 3: John Persudo's time as Victorian Liberal leader could be up
- 0:20Speaker 3: by tomorrow morning. Shadow Minister for Crime Prevention Brad Batton
- 0:24Speaker 3: is set to challenge John Persudo for the leadership, and
- 0:27Speaker 3: Shadow Finance Minister Jess Wilson has also confirmed that she'll
- 0:31Speaker 3: be throwing her hat in the ring too, although it
- 0:33Speaker 3: appears that she won't have the numbers to win, and
- 0:36Speaker 3: more redeeming could be allowed back to the party. Also tonight,
- 0:41Speaker 3: we'll look at the University of Minnesota's new research project
- 0:44Speaker 3: that's looking for gender diverse children as young as five
- 0:49Speaker 3: to play with transgender dolls.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Yes, that's seriously happening.
- 0:53Speaker 3: But first let's go to the US because President elect
- 0:56Speaker 3: Donald Trump has shared his Christmas message and it is
- 1:00Speaker 3: brilliant trolling the radical left to always try to find
- 1:03Speaker 3: a way to ruin this special and holy day. Donald
- 1:07Speaker 3: Trump posted on Truth Social Merry Christmas to the radical
- 1:11Speaker 3: left lunatics who are constantly trying to obstruct our court
- 1:14Speaker 3: system and our elections.
- 1:16Speaker 2: They know that their.
- 1:17Speaker 3: Only chance of survival is getting pardons from a man
- 1:20Speaker 3: who has absolutely no idea what he's doing. And also
- 1:24Speaker 3: Donald Trump wanted to take aim at Justin Toddeau. He
- 1:28Speaker 3: said to Governor Justin Todeau of Canada, whose citizens taxes
- 1:32Speaker 3: are far too high.
- 1:33Speaker 2: But if Canada was to become our.
- 1:35Speaker 3: Fist fifty first date, their taxes would be cut by
- 1:38Speaker 3: more than sixty percent. Rather, we've also heard from President
- 1:43Speaker 3: Joe Biden, if we can remember him, and he shared
- 1:46Speaker 3: Christmas message and he.
- 1:48Speaker 2: Doesn't even feature in it. Let's take a look at this.
- 1:52Speaker 4: There's a certain stillness at the center of christ restoring
- 1:57Speaker 4: shale and night when all the world ruins quiet, all
- 2:00Speaker 4: the noise, everything is the wisest, all fades away, and
- 2:03Speaker 4: still listen to the winter's evening, and we looked to
- 2:09Speaker 4: the sky, a long star shining bread and all the rest,
- 2:15Speaker 4: guiding us to the birth of a child.
- 2:17Speaker 3: It goes on for a couple of minutes, but that
- 2:19Speaker 3: just gives me a headache. But this podcaster Joe Rogan
- 2:24Speaker 3: has summed it up brilliantly.
- 2:25Speaker 2: He has shared this video that really.
- 2:27Speaker 3: Captures the difference between the left and the right tag
- 2:30Speaker 3: a Look.
- 2:31Speaker 5: How dare we speak Merry Christmas?
- 2:33Speaker 6: How dare we well guess what we're saying?
- 2:38Speaker 2: Mary Christmas again, Joe? How good is that? But it
- 2:42Speaker 2: shows you what kind of different world we would be living.
- 2:46Speaker 6: It is amazing. And you see all these things like
- 2:49Speaker 6: how dare you have merry Christmas when there are people
- 2:52Speaker 6: suffering in Palestine? It's like, are we not allowed to
- 2:56Speaker 6: be happy about anything ever because someone somewhere is not happy?
- 3:00Speaker 6: Because that would eliminate, eradicate all happiness among all people
- 3:04Speaker 6: for all time. But look, I particularly enjoyed the Joe
- 3:08Speaker 6: Biden one because it reminded me of that guy you're
- 3:12Speaker 6: sitting next to at the dinner table at Christmas Day
- 3:16Speaker 6: and you're not quite sure how you're related. You think
- 3:19Speaker 6: maybe maybe your great Auntie might have hooked up with
- 3:22Speaker 6: him at the Bowls club just because he's got nowhere
- 3:26Speaker 6: else to go, and it just starts telling you what
- 3:28Speaker 6: Christmas means to him, and you're goings and it It
- 3:35Speaker 6: just makes no sense. And also that Christmas tree in
- 3:37Speaker 6: the White House is an abomination. My mother in law
- 3:41Speaker 6: who gave me this beautiful shirt that I'm wearing, by
- 3:43Speaker 6: the way, thanks Jill, that has a little smaller one
- 3:47Speaker 6: of the sort of wooden sort of I don't know,
- 3:50Speaker 6: is it deco Is it the deconstructed Christmas tree where
- 3:54Speaker 6: you know, each sort of little thing slides around and
- 3:57Speaker 6: blah blah blah. It's like that is not a fir tree.
- 4:00Speaker 6: That is not a Christmas tree. The whole idea of
- 4:02Speaker 6: a Christmas tree is that it is an evergreen tree
- 4:05Speaker 6: that even in the very depths of winter, still produces
- 4:09Speaker 6: it as the song goes, it's lovely, lustrous branches, and
- 4:14Speaker 6: you're just reducing it that.
- 4:16Speaker 2: What that is metal.
- 4:19Speaker 6: It's just I mean, firstly, it's a safety hazard. There
- 4:22Speaker 6: are any children in the White House, they'd come out
- 4:24Speaker 6: with eye patches. They'd be like long John Silver. And secondly,
- 4:29Speaker 6: it's just not Christmas y. And I do appreciate the
- 4:31Speaker 6: irony that every year I take an evergreen Christmas tree
- 4:37Speaker 6: and cut it down so it immediately dies within about
- 4:40Speaker 6: three weeks.
- 4:40Speaker 1: But I don't care.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Simple it's Christmas. Have to get around the key traditions alive.
- 4:46Speaker 2: But freyer.
- 4:47Speaker 3: Donald Trump also slammed the criminals that Joe Biden commuted
- 4:50Speaker 3: earlier in the week, he said, also to the thirty
- 4:53Speaker 3: seven most violent criminals who killed and raped people once before,
- 4:57Speaker 3: who were just given a pardon in incredible will pardon
- 5:00Speaker 3: by sleepy Joe Biden, he refuses to wish them a
- 5:03Speaker 3: Merry Christmas. To those lucky souls that will instead say
- 5:07Speaker 3: go to hell.
- 5:09Speaker 2: We just had the greatest election.
- 5:11Speaker 3: In history of our country, and the bright light is
- 5:14Speaker 3: now shining over the USA, and in twenty six days
- 5:17Speaker 3: we will.
- 5:17Speaker 2: Make America a great again. Merry Christmas.
- 5:19Speaker 3: But I think that message would be one that many
- 5:22Speaker 3: of the families of those victims, who you know, would
- 5:27Speaker 3: really appreciate, seeing as those violent criminals were part and
- 5:30Speaker 3: just days before Christmas. It is the most quintessentially Trump
- 5:34Speaker 3: Christmas message anyone could ever possibly produce.
- 5:37Speaker 7: It's like you can just hear Trump through that tweet,
- 5:41Speaker 7: which I love. And I think it's good that he's
- 5:43Speaker 7: acknowledging the incredible commuting of thirty seven death row sentences,
- 5:49Speaker 7: because that was pretty extraordinary. But I mean, Biden's Christmas
- 5:54Speaker 7: message was also very strange. I actually have a theory
- 5:57Speaker 7: that it could even be AI generated.
- 5:59Speaker 2: It's just an AI generated.
- 6:01Speaker 7: Voice at Biden the guy's on his deathbed. He's not
- 6:04Speaker 7: getting out of bed this Christmas for anyone, let alone
- 6:06Speaker 7: the American people. And so one of his staffers has
- 6:09Speaker 7: just gone into chat GPT put in some inputs of
- 6:13Speaker 7: his voice, his audio. There'd be plenty on the internet
- 6:16Speaker 7: to make some sort of cogent voiceover, and then boom,
- 6:19Speaker 7: that's the Christmas message, because why else is he not
- 6:22Speaker 7: even appearing, not even a token Jill and Joe, nothing
- 6:25Speaker 7: at all. So I think it's AI and he could
- 6:28Speaker 7: actually be dead.
- 6:29Speaker 6: That is ingenious. That is the best Biden take I've
- 6:32Speaker 6: heard in all of twenty twenty four. And my only
- 6:35Speaker 6: question is if they AI generated Biden's Christmas message, why
- 6:39Speaker 6: didn't they just AI generate his entire presidency?
- 6:42Speaker 5: Well, so much better off they kept him here instead
- 6:47Speaker 5: of juiced up Joe, you know, and they didn't get
- 6:50Speaker 5: the timing of his dosage quite right, going out and
- 6:53Speaker 5: sort of crumbling.
- 6:54Speaker 6: Maybe send out a hologram, Yes, just cut that, you know,
- 6:58Speaker 6: I do it via zoom. Oh yes, why hello Joe,
- 7:02Speaker 6: Oh hello America.
- 7:03Speaker 3: Yeah, but that really struggle when he had to finally
- 7:06Speaker 3: hold press conferences and had to finally never hold press conferences.
- 7:10Speaker 2: You know, he refused to hold.
- 7:13Speaker 6: Doors stopped on the way to Marine Wine. It's like, Oh,
- 7:15Speaker 6: there's all these reporters. Do you the presidential helicopter. Oh yeah,
- 7:18Speaker 6: I'm just going out to dick some ass for America. Okay,
- 7:21Speaker 6: thank you very much.
- 7:22Speaker 2: We're in for fun.
- 7:23Speaker 6: Four years is.
- 7:24Speaker 3: Going to be a lot better than the fall that
- 7:26Speaker 3: we've had. But it is this special time of the
- 7:28Speaker 3: year where we spend our precious time with our loved
- 7:31Speaker 3: ones and celebrate with family and friends, except, of course,
- 7:34Speaker 3: for those on the far left who cannot bring themselves
- 7:37Speaker 3: to socialize with anyone who may vote differently to them.
- 7:41Speaker 3: A new poll found that Democrats are almost five times
- 7:44Speaker 3: as likely as Republicans to say that they'll spend less
- 7:48Speaker 3: time with certain family members because of their political views.
- 7:52Speaker 2: Shock horror.
- 7:53Speaker 3: The survey from p r R I'm also found that
- 7:56Speaker 3: Democrats are more likely to view the Republican Party as
- 8:00Speaker 3: a serious threat to the country. Well, I wonder why
- 8:03Speaker 3: they think that. Well, maybe because of the left wing
- 8:05Speaker 3: media and you know who's also encouraging that politics should
- 8:10Speaker 3: really come between relationships, this ivy league, psychiontrist.
- 8:15Speaker 8: If you are going into a situation where you have
- 8:18Speaker 8: family members, where you have close friends who you know
- 8:22Speaker 8: have voted in ways that are against you. It's completely
- 8:25Speaker 8: fine to not be around those people and to tell
- 8:28Speaker 8: them why, you know, to say, I have a problem
- 8:31Speaker 8: with the way that you voted. I'm not going to
- 8:33Speaker 8: be around you this holiday.
- 8:34Speaker 2: I need to take some space from me.
- 8:37Speaker 3: Completely fine, completely healthy to just be in an echo
- 8:40Speaker 3: chamber and essentially shut out anyone who votes differently to you.
- 8:45Speaker 3: Comedian at Bill Meyer has a weight in on this
- 8:47Speaker 3: and blasted his own side for behaving this way.
- 8:50Speaker 9: Way back when a guy who crossed lines politically, who
- 8:55Speaker 9: the worst thing you could ever do? Be friends with
- 8:57Speaker 9: a Republican call nine one one. Yeah, this is what
- 9:01Speaker 9: I hate about the left. Just the idea that you know,
- 9:04Speaker 9: cut your family on for Thanksgiving, things luned for the wrong.
- 9:08Speaker 2: He's making sense, Joe.
- 9:09Speaker 3: How sad is it that we're living in this world
- 9:12Speaker 3: that people actually believe that you don't need to invest
- 9:15Speaker 3: in your relationships anymore because they vote a certain way.
- 9:19Speaker 6: It's incredibly sad. It's incredibly ridiculous. This is a fight
- 9:21Speaker 6: that Bill Maher has been fighting for it. Frankly, I
- 9:24Speaker 6: feel like I'm a slightly more handsome and less famous version.
- 9:27Speaker 6: It's the sort of stuff that I've been shouting from
- 9:29Speaker 6: the rooftops, so he's been shouting from the rooftops. It is, obviously,
- 9:33Speaker 6: it is. It is. And again I talk about sort
- 9:35Speaker 6: of ideology and ideological extremism all the time, but it
- 9:38Speaker 6: is that thing where you decide that your cause and
- 9:42Speaker 6: what you believe in your politics are more important than
- 9:45Speaker 6: human relationships and more important than the feelings. And it
- 9:49Speaker 6: starts out with the feelings, and then it quickly escalates
- 9:52Speaker 6: to the lives of other human beings, because you know,
- 9:55Speaker 6: the greater good, the ideal is, the utopia, is more important.
- 9:58Speaker 6: So again it's not that easy, difficult a step to make.
- 10:02Speaker 6: From first you cut off people who you disagree with politically,
- 10:07Speaker 6: who don't agree or rather who don't agree with you politically,
- 10:10Speaker 6: then you gradually sort of dehumanizement. Pretty soon they're not
- 10:13Speaker 6: really people, and pretty soon they're just impediments on the
- 10:15Speaker 6: way to a glorious revolutionary utopia. And pretty soon that
- 10:19Speaker 6: means you have to get rid of them. And this
- 10:20Speaker 6: is the formula that has played out on the left
- 10:22Speaker 6: and the right. But the right is at least kind
- 10:24Speaker 6: of honest about it, but played out by the left,
- 10:27Speaker 6: you know, in countless revolutions, But tens of millions of
- 10:29Speaker 6: people have died from Mao's great leap forward and then
- 10:33Speaker 6: the Cultural Revolution to the Bolshevik Revolution in Russia and
- 10:37Speaker 6: the civil war that followed. All these people are expendable.
- 10:40Speaker 6: But it's okay because it's for the glorious revolution. The
- 10:44Speaker 6: Nazi said, all these people are expendable because they're just
- 10:46Speaker 6: not really human, and we hate them and we're superior
- 10:48Speaker 6: to them. So at least there was a degree of
- 10:50Speaker 6: honesty that. But the other interesting thing about this is
- 10:54Speaker 6: that it represents the ultimate hypocrisy of the new Left,
- 10:58Speaker 6: which is that it is no longer about the collective.
- 11:01Speaker 6: It's no longer about the greater good. Now, if it
- 11:03Speaker 6: was really about the greater good, what they'd be trying
- 11:06Speaker 6: to do is find out why people were voting for
- 11:09Speaker 6: Donald Trump and how they or their side of politics
- 11:13Speaker 6: could make a more persuasive argument and therefore relieve the
- 11:19Speaker 6: world of this tyrannical dictator, Donald Trump, who apparently is
- 11:22Speaker 6: so harmful in topic.
- 11:22Speaker 2: They will don't.
- 11:24Speaker 6: Actually want to do that, That is the thing they're
- 11:27Speaker 6: not interested in actually achieving a result that would benefit
- 11:31Speaker 6: the collective, that would benefit the whole country. All they
- 11:34Speaker 6: care about is themselves. They have become the ultimate individualists.
- 11:38Speaker 6: And this psychiatrist from Yale University actually says that openly
- 11:44Speaker 6: without even knowing that she's saying it, when she says,
- 11:47Speaker 6: I need to take some space for me. I cannot
- 11:52Speaker 6: tolerate your existence, cannot tolerate family or friendship because I
- 11:58Speaker 6: need this for men.
- 12:00Speaker 2: You know what important.
- 12:03Speaker 6: This is. Greed is good stuff. This is the ultimate
- 12:06Speaker 6: what I need is more important than the harmony of
- 12:09Speaker 6: the family, than the harmony of the community, than Christmas
- 12:12Speaker 6: Day being at several ens.
- 12:14Speaker 1: And these people are saying that with a straight face,
- 12:18Speaker 1: without even realizing what they're saying, and despite the fact
- 12:21Speaker 1: the effing academics from Yale University, like, you cannot make
- 12:26Speaker 1: this stuff up.
- 12:27Speaker 6: This is beyond satire. It is just nuts.
- 12:30Speaker 3: Anyway, that's happening over in the States, but we're feeling
- 12:33Speaker 3: it here in Australia too. People on the left just
- 12:36Speaker 3: shutting out anyone with different views.
- 12:38Speaker 7: For sure, And I think it's part of this coddal
- 12:40Speaker 7: culture that we've kind of developed in the West. It's
- 12:43Speaker 7: like anybody who possibly disagrees with me, that that is
- 12:47Speaker 7: interpreted as like a personal attack, and now I'm actually
- 12:51Speaker 7: under threat and my personhood to my very core, is
- 12:55Speaker 7: being challenged by just your presence and knowing that you
- 12:58Speaker 7: somehow disagree with me. So to protect myself, my own security,
- 13:03Speaker 7: I need to take some space for myself, as this
- 13:06Speaker 7: Yale psychiatrist says, and it's completely ridiculous. It's like someone's
- 13:10Speaker 7: political views are not going to hurt you, even if
- 13:14Speaker 7: they disagree with you. We live in a democracy, that's
- 13:17Speaker 7: the whole point. We can change governments, we can change
- 13:21Speaker 7: policies through the ballot and without violence.
- 13:24Speaker 2: Like actually in the.
- 13:25Speaker 7: West, you can have disagreements with people and be safe
- 13:29Speaker 7: because we have democracy. But when people retreat into their
- 13:33Speaker 7: echo chambers and go, oh no, it's too hard, it's
- 13:35Speaker 7: too much of a personal attack being around people that
- 13:37Speaker 7: disagree with me. It's, as Joe says, over time that
- 13:40Speaker 7: actually does creep into growing intolerance, and on the left
- 13:44Speaker 7: it's resulted in the murder of tens of millions.
- 13:47Speaker 6: That's right, and I will continue to be wiped out
- 13:49Speaker 6: by Donald Trump forever as long as the Democrats are
- 13:52Speaker 6: the party that represents that kind of thinking, which again,
- 13:56Speaker 6: so they become parent. Well they have been, frankly, and
- 14:00Speaker 6: they've lost the working class that will just keep losing.
- 14:03Speaker 6: So again, these kinds of idiotic, self indulgent sooks are
- 14:06Speaker 6: going to produce more Trumps, more jd Vanceys, more Tea
- 14:10Speaker 6: Party Republican presidents than any prior movement before them. They
- 14:15Speaker 6: are the greatest gift to the right.
- 14:16Speaker 3: Of course, that psychiatrist was on MSNBC. They love that
- 14:20Speaker 3: kind of viewpoint as well, and people have seemed to
- 14:23Speaker 3: have forgotten that Christmas and Thanksgiving it's about giving thanks
- 14:27Speaker 3: about spending precious, valuable time with the ones people you
- 14:30Speaker 3: have in your life and I've got to be around
- 14:32Speaker 3: forever anyway, it's about for them, it's.
- 14:34Speaker 2: About the self.
- 14:35Speaker 6: Actually, it's about taking care of me in the etaime,
- 14:38Speaker 6: because I feel like you're not respecting my wishes to
- 14:40Speaker 6: be the person that I want to be by being
- 14:43Speaker 6: the person that you are, which to me is unacceptable.
- 14:46Speaker 2: Good accent, that's it, Okay.
- 14:48Speaker 3: Bringing it back to Australia now, there's been chaos at
- 14:51Speaker 3: Sydney Beaches. Thousands of people, including tourists and backpackers, have
- 14:55Speaker 3: taken part in a Christmas Day party at Bronte Beach.
- 14:59Speaker 2: And the bad thing about.
- 15:00Speaker 3: This is just the disrespect rather shown by people going
- 15:05Speaker 3: to these beautiful clean beaches and the amount of rubbish
- 15:09Speaker 3: that has been left behind. Some of the images show
- 15:12Speaker 3: bags of rubbish just everywhere, empty beer bottles, wine bottles left.
- 15:16Speaker 2: At the usually clean beach park.
- 15:19Speaker 3: More than two hundred and fifty additional garbage bins were
- 15:21Speaker 3: placed at Bronze Beach by the council in.
- 15:24Speaker 2: Anticipation for this event.
- 15:26Speaker 3: That it appeared to have made no difference, and residents
- 15:29Speaker 3: are really upset about this. They're voicing their concerns about
- 15:32Speaker 3: who's paying for this cleanup. They're suggesting that next year
- 15:36Speaker 3: partygoers should be charged.
- 15:38Speaker 2: Twenty dollars for a cleaning fee.
- 15:40Speaker 3: Just looking at all those images, it looks like a nightmare.
- 15:43Speaker 3: But it's frustrating that there's also an alcohol bound in
- 15:46Speaker 3: place and that appears to get ignored.
- 15:48Speaker 2: Frayer for sure.
- 15:50Speaker 7: I mean there were full on DJ booth set up
- 15:52Speaker 7: like they're pretty enterprising.
- 15:54Speaker 2: I must give them credit for that.
- 15:56Speaker 7: And this is the challenge right Normally I'm pro fun
- 16:00Speaker 7: I'm like all those people complaining about noise you know,
- 16:04Speaker 7: they're shutting down live music left right and center. Pubs
- 16:06Speaker 7: are having to close early. I just think that's the worst.
- 16:09Speaker 7: I'm like, come on, let us have fun. Young people
- 16:12Speaker 7: are dealing with enough at the moment. Mental health is
- 16:14Speaker 7: deteriorating rapidly. Like, just let people have fun. But when
- 16:19Speaker 7: fifteen thousand people rock up at a relatively small beach
- 16:24Speaker 7: and trash the place, I struggle to be pro fun
- 16:29Speaker 7: in that instance. And I mean, if you had fifteen
- 16:31Speaker 7: thousand people at any sort of other event, it would
- 16:35Speaker 7: be a massive festival. This looks like a music festival.
- 16:39Speaker 7: This was a huge should be a huge production that
- 16:42Speaker 7: would have a multimillion dollar budget to manage crowds, to
- 16:45Speaker 7: provide cleaning, poor to loose, like all the services that
- 16:49Speaker 7: we don't even think about, but that are required when
- 16:52Speaker 7: you're dealing with this many thousands of people. And like,
- 16:55Speaker 7: what happens if someone collapses because of heat stroke or
- 16:58Speaker 7: cardiacgress or something. Can you get an ambulance into a
- 17:00Speaker 7: crowd of fifteen thousand people at Bronze Beach?
- 17:03Speaker 2: So it's pretty it's pretty crazy.
- 17:06Speaker 7: I have sympathy for the party goers because I'm like, yay,
- 17:09Speaker 7: good on them, But at the same time it's like
- 17:11Speaker 7: that is insane.
- 17:12Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm with you being profun as much as we can,
- 17:15Speaker 3: especially here in Australia. There are too many rules. But
- 17:17Speaker 3: it's just so sad seeing Bronti Beach like this. And
- 17:19Speaker 3: the difference is it is at a beach. It is
- 17:22Speaker 3: a dangerous environment for tourists, for backpackers who aren't as
- 17:25Speaker 3: familiar with our beaches, and it puts pressure on the lifeguard.
- 17:28Speaker 6: I've got a feel this is something that happens every
- 17:30Speaker 6: year in Sydney and people around the country, but no,
- 17:33Speaker 6: Brontie Beach is one of the most sort of exclusive ritzy,
- 17:36Speaker 6: second only probably to bond Die in terms of the
- 17:38Speaker 6: most exclusive neighborhood on those eastern beaches, which are the
- 17:41Speaker 6: most expensive real estate in the country. I have some
- 17:46Speaker 6: pretty strong insights into this. I'm pretty sure I know
- 17:51Speaker 6: who is responsible for this, just absolute drunken devastation. It's
- 17:56Speaker 6: the Irish, clearly out people. I know them when I
- 18:01Speaker 6: see them. I'm an Irish half Irish Catholic myself, and
- 18:06Speaker 6: that obviously means Irish Catholic is coded for alcoholic. And
- 18:11Speaker 6: what has happened is Ireland has gone so humorless and
- 18:14Speaker 6: woke to the point where they've got, you know, pro
- 18:18Speaker 6: Palestine protesters entering Christmas Catholic masses and then being applauded.
- 18:23Speaker 6: It's like, I think you're in the wrong place, guys.
- 18:27Speaker 6: So that's obviously become so boring that all the fun
- 18:30Speaker 6: drunken Irish have come over here in even greater numbers.
- 18:34Speaker 6: And so you know, the Irish, the drunken Irish backpacker,
- 18:37Speaker 6: who is basically the national emblem of Bondi has now
- 18:42Speaker 6: descending on neighboring Bronze Beach. And they're not they're not,
- 18:46Speaker 6: you know, they're's like, na, how.
- 18:48Speaker 2: To clean up after themselves?
- 18:49Speaker 6: They should learn how to. But this is the other
- 18:51Speaker 6: thing that I reckon might hear. So there's this is
- 18:53Speaker 6: alcohol ban at Bronte Beach, right, Something tells me it's
- 18:57Speaker 6: not working. Something tells me what they know that they
- 19:02Speaker 6: get these huge crowds of thousands of people here over
- 19:05Speaker 6: the holiday period every summer. Would it not be a
- 19:08Speaker 6: better idea? Decadedly send, Okay, we know that you're going
- 19:11Speaker 6: to come and get drunk on Christmas Day. They've got
- 19:14Speaker 6: no families to go to because they're Irish. And they're
- 19:16Speaker 6: fighting with all of them, and so they all come
- 19:19Speaker 6: to the one location. You have a controlled environment, you
- 19:22Speaker 6: have a regulated environment. You have heaps and heaps and
- 19:24Speaker 6: heats and heats and heats and heats at heaps of
- 19:27Speaker 6: recycling bins. They never seem to have enough of those.
- 19:29Speaker 6: It never seem to be easy enough. And if they've
- 19:31Speaker 6: put in all these extra bins and there's still that
- 19:33Speaker 6: much rubbish there, clearly there's not enough. And again I
- 19:37Speaker 6: do not believe that like some people are just pigs,
- 19:39Speaker 6: right obviously, and I'm not just talking about the Irish,
- 19:42Speaker 6: I'm also talking about New Zealanders. But they all of
- 19:46Speaker 6: those bins I'm pretty sure would have been full and overflowing.
- 19:50Speaker 6: So clearly people are trying to do the right thing,
- 19:53Speaker 6: trying to get it in there, and it is just
- 19:55Speaker 6: not having so even more bins. Acknowledge there's going to
- 19:58Speaker 6: be an alcohol thing, have ranges going through, getting rid
- 20:00Speaker 6: of all the paying.
- 20:02Speaker 3: Triple time, be a ticketed event then so they know
- 20:04Speaker 3: what they're signing up for that can all be included
- 20:06Speaker 3: in the ticket, not not.
- 20:08Speaker 6: For a price, maybe just simply for crowd control numbers.
- 20:11Speaker 6: So I don't think I don't like the idea of
- 20:13Speaker 6: charging people to go to the beach under any circumstances.
- 20:16Speaker 6: That is a very you.
- 20:17Speaker 2: Know, drink. Well, they'll just move to the drink they
- 20:20Speaker 2: can bring.
- 20:20Speaker 6: I'll bring their own birds. No, I'm not saying I'm
- 20:22Speaker 6: not saying sell them birds. We're saying, right, this is
- 20:25Speaker 6: the this is.
- 20:25Speaker 1: The this is the the way.
- 20:27Speaker 2: The alcohol.
- 20:28Speaker 6: So you can come there. Yeah, perhaps with a special case.
- 20:31Speaker 6: Acknowledge that this is an event that happens, whether council
- 20:33Speaker 6: approves it or not.
- 20:34Speaker 2: You've got drunk people in the ocean, got.
- 20:36Speaker 6: Trunk pet in the ocean anyway, and you've got people who,
- 20:38Speaker 6: even when they are stone cold sober, simply cannot swim.
- 20:42Speaker 6: You've got rock fishermen who cannot swim for the love
- 20:44Speaker 6: of God and aren't wearing life jackets. That's where some
- 20:47Speaker 6: of the worst drownings occur. So that happens anyway. Better
- 20:50Speaker 6: to acknowledge the fact that it just happens, and to say, right,
- 20:54Speaker 6: we're just going to make sure it's clean. We're going
- 20:56Speaker 6: to have people on hand to tell me.
- 20:57Speaker 2: You know, I don't really want to reward this behavior.
- 20:59Speaker 3: People who turning out to these beaches and just completely
- 21:02Speaker 3: trashing these feaches.
- 21:03Speaker 6: It's already anarchy, it's already happening. It's already anarchy. I'm saying,
- 21:06Speaker 6: put the resources in to manage it. So you've got
- 21:09Speaker 6: rangers that can tell public, keep the music down, if
- 21:11Speaker 6: they're bothering people, keep a check on anti social behaviors.
- 21:14Speaker 7: Clean I acknowledge what you're saying, Joe, and I'm sympathetic
- 21:17Speaker 7: to your argument, but the challenge is right, you're it's
- 21:21Speaker 7: a public holiday. You're paying people what two point five
- 21:24Speaker 7: times are hourly rate. You've got policemen there, mounted policemen,
- 21:28Speaker 7: You've got council ranges, you've got all the people involved
- 21:30Speaker 7: in the cleanup. This is going to cost money and
- 21:33Speaker 7: it's the rate payers of Waverley Council the.
- 21:38Speaker 2: Country.
- 21:42Speaker 7: But maybe an answer is Waverley Council just owns this
- 21:47Speaker 7: as an iconic.
- 21:48Speaker 2: Institution that happens every cess.
- 21:50Speaker 7: And then they put it on. But you could actually
- 21:52Speaker 7: have like food trucks selling alcohol, so at least you
- 21:56Speaker 7: have people with RSAs and then you could enforce the
- 21:58Speaker 7: band because if they're was a way for people to
- 22:00Speaker 7: get it, but in a responsible way, you would you
- 22:03Speaker 7: would be.
- 22:03Speaker 6: The backpackers aren't going to.
- 22:04Speaker 3: Be I think a lot of people would be trying
- 22:09Speaker 3: to do you know food, noales and you know, drinks
- 22:12Speaker 3: at the at beaches, and then they go to the
- 22:14Speaker 3: backpackers on Christmas Day, I don't know.
- 22:17Speaker 7: And they're probably not going to be paying for some
- 22:19Speaker 7: like gourmet Bronti and I mean, she's Chrissan.
- 22:23Speaker 6: They just trying to get some French chick drunk enough
- 22:25Speaker 6: so they can both go to the back of the back.
- 22:27Speaker 6: That's all I want to do.
- 22:28Speaker 3: Let's go to politics now that the are but easy.
- 22:31Speaker 3: It could be in trouble next year's federal election. He's
- 22:33Speaker 3: continuing to poll badly. Newspole analysis in The Australian shows
- 22:38Speaker 3: that Labor has sheared critical support from middle Australia amid
- 22:42Speaker 3: the cost of living crisis. Not only that Labour's lost
- 22:45Speaker 3: its edge with female voters both genders and now split
- 22:48Speaker 3: fifty to fifty on the two major.
- 22:50Speaker 2: Parties for the first time.
- 22:52Speaker 3: And the analysis shows that Labor is losing electoral territory
- 22:55Speaker 3: and key demographics as well in New South Wales and Victoria.
- 22:59Speaker 3: So it indicates that Labor is really going to struggle
- 23:02Speaker 3: to retain a majority government at the twenty twenty five election,
- 23:05Speaker 3: and the key issue really is the cost of living,
- 23:08Speaker 3: especially as families have been struggling with their mortgage repayments
- 23:12Speaker 3: and interest rate rises. The Greens are also in trouble
- 23:15Speaker 3: according to this analysis, and having lost territory to Labor
- 23:18Speaker 3: among younger voters. And this also comes just after Adam
- 23:23Speaker 3: Bant foolishly boasted about its stance on the on Israel
- 23:28Speaker 3: and the Middle East conflict. But it's interesting Albo is
- 23:31Speaker 3: really in trouble here.
- 23:33Speaker 2: It seems.
- 23:34Speaker 3: I just think he's been too slow to act on
- 23:36Speaker 3: anti Semitism. He's already bought his retirement home. People are
- 23:41Speaker 3: voting with their wallets, They're probably not going to be
- 23:43Speaker 3: voting for him again.
- 23:44Speaker 2: He can't seem to get a lift.
- 23:46Speaker 3: As we see these news polls at time and time again,
- 23:48Speaker 3: things aren't turning round for him.
- 23:51Speaker 2: And I think this all really started with the Voice.
- 23:53Speaker 3: He's spent a year on the Voice, five hundred million dollars.
- 23:56Speaker 2: He's been trying to make his mark and he hasn't
- 23:58Speaker 2: been able to do it exactly.
- 24:00Speaker 7: We have been in a per capita recession for seven
- 24:04Speaker 7: quarters seven quarters.
- 24:06Speaker 2: Families have been going backwards.
- 24:08Speaker 7: People have been taking home less pay after they pay
- 24:12Speaker 7: for all the essentials, which have been going up with
- 24:14Speaker 7: crazy high inflation. So we just have to think about
- 24:18Speaker 7: where is the average family sitting now.
- 24:20Speaker 2: Versus two years ago.
- 24:22Speaker 7: In under one hundred and fifty days, we will have
- 24:26Speaker 7: an election, and I think Albanez should be extremely worried.
- 24:30Speaker 7: And the other problem for Labor is that they really
- 24:33Speaker 7: have nothing else up their sleeve. In fact, I think
- 24:35Speaker 7: they will avoid releasing another budget before the election because
- 24:39Speaker 7: it will be so disastrous for them, and they have
- 24:42Speaker 7: zero policy vision or ideas to actually bring down the
- 24:46Speaker 7: cost of living other than energy subsidies to solve an
- 24:49Speaker 7: energy crisis that they are exacerbating. So the challenges for
- 24:53Speaker 7: Labor are immense. If they make if they do a
- 24:55Speaker 7: coalition with the Greens or any sort of appeasement of
- 24:59Speaker 7: the Greens, I think we'll just get worse because the
- 25:01Speaker 7: key areas of kind of policy interest for the Greens
- 25:05Speaker 7: are energy, ending all colon gas that is just going
- 25:08Speaker 7: to make the cost of living so much worse for families,
- 25:11Speaker 7: and so I think Labor is really in a very
- 25:14Speaker 7: difficult position now, and once the momentum.
- 25:17Speaker 2: Starts to swing. It is very hard to turn that around.
- 25:21Speaker 2: And we have been seeing.
- 25:22Speaker 7: Every news poll the coalition has just been eating away
- 25:27Speaker 7: at their lead and I don't think that's going to change.
- 25:30Speaker 2: We have He's just been continuing to poll badly, hasn't he, Joe.
- 25:33Speaker 6: Yeah, he has. Look, it's not quite the interesting thing
- 25:35Speaker 6: about this, and I agree with just about everything. For
- 25:38Speaker 6: I said, firstly, there is no way they are going
- 25:40Speaker 6: to form a coalition with the Greens. There is no
- 25:42Speaker 6: way they are going to sign anything with the Greens.
- 25:45Speaker 6: In most seats, the Greens probably won't even receive their
- 25:49Speaker 6: next preference. They will do a deal with the Cannabis
- 25:54Speaker 6: Party instead, who is much more sort of libertarian and
- 25:57Speaker 6: fun and they much nicer people. I can promise you
- 26:01Speaker 6: that the Greens the legalized cannabis party, and that is
- 26:04Speaker 6: something that happened in the Queensland state election, and we'll
- 26:07Speaker 6: be replicated at the federal state election. And you know,
- 26:09Speaker 6: say the word cannabis is obviously it's very easy to
- 26:11Speaker 6: start giggling and have it. And it's even easy to
- 26:13Speaker 6: start giggling. But this is part of a serious strategy
- 26:17Speaker 6: for Labor to distance itself as much as possible from
- 26:20Speaker 6: the Greens. The PM, I can assure you personally hates them.
- 26:25Speaker 6: They have ruined his life on Palestine. They found outside
- 26:29Speaker 6: his electric office. Is they've been you know, they or
- 26:32Speaker 6: their supporters have been harassing MPs and their elected officers
- 26:35Speaker 6: supporting the defacement of the Australian War Memorial. I mean
- 26:38Speaker 6: it's been, you know, it's been absolutely disgraceful and we've
- 26:41Speaker 6: seen them go backwards. And the fact that the Greens
- 26:43Speaker 6: are now coming out and begging Labor to basically give
- 26:48Speaker 6: them a little sugar just shows how desperate they are.
- 26:51Speaker 6: It's a bit like, you know, you don't go out
- 26:53Speaker 6: with you know, you don't get a date with the
- 26:54Speaker 6: hottest chick at school by crying and.
- 26:56Speaker 2: So please, please please, you are please.
- 26:59Speaker 6: With which is exactly what Adam Bann is doing by
- 27:02Speaker 6: trying to say come on government with us, that Labor
- 27:04Speaker 6: is going to put itself as far away from the
- 27:06Speaker 6: Greens as it possibly can. It's already working according to
- 27:09Speaker 6: this newspot. And to be honest, the fact that they
- 27:13Speaker 6: are still fifty to fifty two party preferred, given everything
- 27:16Speaker 6: that's happened, I reckon that is actually a surprisingly good sign,
- 27:22Speaker 6: and that that has been holding that. This is an
- 27:25Speaker 6: analysis over I think the last three months of newspots,
- 27:27Speaker 6: because you need to add up all the data so
- 27:29Speaker 6: you can then break it down. You need that to
- 27:32Speaker 6: build that sample size up to about five thousand something
- 27:34Speaker 6: like that, And so this is an average of the
- 27:37Speaker 6: last three months, not necessarily the last month. It is possible,
- 27:41Speaker 6: and I live in hope that after Christmas, a brand
- 27:45Speaker 6: new year, people think, well, it can't get any worse.
- 27:47Speaker 6: Maybe there's a prospect of a rate cut, hopefully for
- 27:50Speaker 6: the labor before the election, at least almost definitely one
- 27:55Speaker 6: or two throughout the course of the year. Maybe that
- 27:58Speaker 6: will make people think, you know what, twenty four getting
- 28:01Speaker 6: the bin. But maybe things are going to get better.
- 28:04Speaker 6: Who do I trust more to get me there? Maybe
- 28:07Speaker 6: we should give Albow another guard.
- 28:09Speaker 7: Instead of I think, I don't think that's going to happen.
- 28:13Speaker 7: And I think all of the RBA commentary that we're seeing,
- 28:16Speaker 7: this was confirmed by the IMF a couple days ago,
- 28:19Speaker 7: is that the cost of living crisis we are experiencing
- 28:21Speaker 7: now is a result of huge government spending and fiscal expansion.
- 28:27Speaker 7: So even if we see a rate cut, it's not
- 28:29Speaker 7: actually dealing with the underlying issue, which is government spending,
- 28:33Speaker 7: and if labor carries that on all, we're just going
- 28:36Speaker 7: to have sustainably higher inflation. Government spending is now making
- 28:39Speaker 7: up twenty seven percent of the entire economy is coming
- 28:43Speaker 7: from government spending alone. That is one of the highest
- 28:45Speaker 7: levels on record. It is hard to see where they
- 28:48Speaker 7: go from here because the deficits and even the interest
- 28:52Speaker 7: payments on government debt and now one percent of the
- 28:55Speaker 7: total budget. So how is this sustainable? So if we do,
- 28:58Speaker 7: I think people will serious, they'll look at their wallets,
- 29:01Speaker 7: they'll go, Actually, I am poorer than I was two
- 29:04Speaker 7: and a half years ago. What is Labour's plan to
- 29:06Speaker 7: get me through this? Basically just spend more money on
- 29:08Speaker 7: a whole bunch of gimmick policies. Okay, that's not a
- 29:12Speaker 7: real solution, given they cause this whole problem. So I
- 29:14Speaker 7: don't think I don't think that's going to happen.
- 29:16Speaker 6: Yeah, a lot of the part and you're right, you're right. Part,
- 29:19Speaker 6: I think a lot of it has been though state
- 29:20Speaker 6: government spending and state labor governments.
- 29:23Speaker 2: The problemly and that is it's all labor.
- 29:24Speaker 6: Government labor governments. That's right, And you know, I often
- 29:27Speaker 6: left labor governments who have about as much understanding of
- 29:29Speaker 6: economic policy as you know, a horse does of quantum physics.
- 29:34Speaker 6: But they you know, in Queensland, for example, they went
- 29:38Speaker 6: on a massive spending spread in the lead up to
- 29:39Speaker 6: election that's now gone and there's a new government in
- 29:42Speaker 6: that's going to trim that. Victoria as a result of
- 29:45Speaker 6: all it spending has gone flat stone broke, And again
- 29:49Speaker 6: you won't see that same excess in South Australia. WA
- 29:52Speaker 6: is obviously a different country and Labour's doing quite well there.
- 29:54Speaker 6: So everything you say is completely correct. But I'm just
- 29:57Speaker 6: sort of got my glass half full in front of it.
- 30:00Speaker 3: Interesting that we've also heard from Adam urging Anthony Albanesi
- 30:03Speaker 3: to cooperate with the Greens rather if there's no clue
- 30:07Speaker 3: winner after the election. But it's interesting commentary when the
- 30:10Speaker 3: Greens are in total themselves.
- 30:11Speaker 7: Yeah, the Greens are desperate. I think it is, as
- 30:14Speaker 7: Joe said, this is a cry for help. It's like
- 30:16Speaker 7: we want attention, we want relevance, we need some sort
- 30:19Speaker 7: of lifeline year. They know they're going back the campaigns
- 30:22Speaker 7: we saw against the Greens at a New South Wales
- 30:25Speaker 7: in the New South Wales Council elections run by Better
- 30:28Speaker 7: Council were very impressive and effective at pulling back some
- 30:33Speaker 7: of the votes and they often went to labor, which
- 30:35Speaker 7: I think is fine because I would rather have labor
- 30:37Speaker 7: than the Greens. And I think the Greens claim Israel
- 30:42Speaker 7: Palestine as a win. I think they are seriously misguided
- 30:46Speaker 7: on that. Even if people turn on the TV and see,
- 30:49Speaker 7: you know, pictures of dying babies, which is horrible.
- 30:53Speaker 2: The social division, the.
- 30:55Speaker 7: Anti Semitism, the fire bombings of synagogues that is not
- 31:00Speaker 7: Australia and anyone that promotes those ideas, and so's that division.
- 31:06Speaker 7: People like ordinary Aussies who we don't hear on ABC
- 31:09Speaker 7: and in the Guardian, they will get to the ballot
- 31:12Speaker 7: box and go no freaking way.
- 31:14Speaker 6: See something even more sinister. And yes, absolutely every really
- 31:18Speaker 6: anti Israel candidate really suffered at those local government elections,
- 31:21Speaker 6: including not just the Greens but also some in some
- 31:24Speaker 6: Southwest Sydney seats there more outspoken so anti Israel Muslim
- 31:28Speaker 6: candidates did not do well. The other interesting thing though,
- 31:31Speaker 6: is that the Greens, if they are smart enough to
- 31:34Speaker 6: know what they're doing, which is a big if, but
- 31:36Speaker 6: they know that labor. They are in the most powerful
- 31:40Speaker 6: position if they hurt labor, if they drag labor backwards.
- 31:44Speaker 6: So it is actually in their interest to make labor
- 31:48Speaker 6: less popular, so that it's minority is so low that
- 31:53Speaker 6: they cannot avoid Green's MPs to give them confidence and
- 31:58Speaker 6: supply in the Parliament. And they I think how toxic
- 32:01Speaker 6: even they must know how toxic their stance on Israel
- 32:05Speaker 6: has been in the community, and so they hang that
- 32:08Speaker 6: like they know. They hang that up Max Chamber marsk.
- 32:11Speaker 6: Strangely enough, I did say we've got to figure this out.
- 32:13Speaker 6: Then again, they won't say it, but they know that
- 32:16Speaker 6: they won't say it, but they will have seen the
- 32:19Speaker 6: same polling numbers that everyone else has, and they know
- 32:22Speaker 6: that by hanging this and again this will talk about
- 32:24Speaker 6: these ideologues who actually don't care if the suffering gets worse,
- 32:28Speaker 6: or if they even harm themselves, that it's much more
- 32:30Speaker 6: important to be ideologically pure. They want to hang that
- 32:33Speaker 6: like a millstone around labour. See, labor is just the
- 32:35Speaker 6: same as us on Israel Palestine. They know that hurts labor,
- 32:38Speaker 6: and when it hurts labor so much that the only
- 32:41Speaker 6: way they can possibly function is to crawl on bended
- 32:44Speaker 6: knee to the Greens and say, okay, we'll do a
- 32:46Speaker 6: deal which will never ever happen. So they're trying to
- 32:48Speaker 6: gaslight Labor into a position that it doesn't actually have.
- 32:51Speaker 6: On Israel, well, let's.
- 32:52Speaker 2: Look at Victoria. The leadership spill is on.
- 32:55Speaker 3: Brad Baton has told John Pasudo that he's going to
- 32:58Speaker 3: challenge him for the leadership at tomorrow's meeting. The Shadow
- 33:01Speaker 3: Police Minister is the favorite to replace John Persudo, with
- 33:05Speaker 3: supporters estimating he has sixteen votes locked in. Despite this,
- 33:09Speaker 3: though Shadow Finance Minister Jess Wilson has confirmed that she'll
- 33:12Speaker 3: also be throwing her hat in.
- 33:14Speaker 2: The ring, but it's unlikely that she will win.
- 33:17Speaker 3: She's someone who supported John Pursudo all the way and
- 33:20Speaker 3: voted to expel More Redeeming, but at tomorrow's high stakes
- 33:23Speaker 3: meeting one it comes rather just one week after the
- 33:27Speaker 3: party gathered to vote on readmitting More Redeeming to the
- 33:31Speaker 3: Liberal Party, and as we know, John Pursudo used his
- 33:34Speaker 3: casting vote to block her return following her court victory
- 33:38Speaker 3: over him, and in an effort just to save himself,
- 33:41Speaker 3: John Pursuito backflipped on Sunday, announcing another party room meeting
- 33:45Speaker 3: for January fifteen so Deeming could return, but five MPs,
- 33:49Speaker 3: including Brad Batton, called for a meeting tomorrow morning to
- 33:52Speaker 3: bring the vote forward, so there could be as many
- 33:56Speaker 3: as thirty one members voting tomorrow if two absent MPs
- 33:59Speaker 3: are allowed to vote remotely And how desperate does John
- 34:02Speaker 3: Persudo look just wanting two people who are overseas to
- 34:05Speaker 3: be allowed to vote when we know the rules are
- 34:08Speaker 3: except their exceptional circumstances. If you're not present, you can't vote.
- 34:13Speaker 3: But tomorrow could really mark a significant turning point for
- 34:16Speaker 3: the Victorian Liberal Party, which has been desperate for a
- 34:19Speaker 3: new leader for a long time now, and you certainly
- 34:21Speaker 3: can't get much worse than what they've had. It would
- 34:24Speaker 3: be a big boost, of course to the Liberal Party
- 34:27Speaker 3: if it gets back Moiret Deeming tomorrow, who should have
- 34:30Speaker 3: never been kicked out in it the first place. But fray,
- 34:33Speaker 3: the Liberal Party really needs to put this embarrassing chapter
- 34:36Speaker 3: behind them.
- 34:37Speaker 2: It's going to be interesting what happens tomorrow.
- 34:39Speaker 7: For sure, for sure, and I've heard some great things
- 34:42Speaker 7: about Jess Wilson, but my worry is really the Victorian
- 34:46Speaker 7: Liberals right now need a candidate who.
- 34:49Speaker 2: Backed Moira Deeming.
- 34:50Speaker 7: She has been vindicated, she's one in her case against Persudo.
- 34:55Speaker 7: And I think the interesting factor that not many people
- 34:57Speaker 7: are considering here is also the Victorian Liberal parties support
- 35:02Speaker 7: a base they from my understanding, overwhelmingly stand with more
- 35:07Speaker 7: Redeeming and the Liberal Party in Victoria really since COVID
- 35:10Speaker 7: has lost a lot of members, a lot of campaigners
- 35:15Speaker 7: due to the More Redeeming staff, the sense of factional division,
- 35:20Speaker 7: and so I think they need someone who can come in,
- 35:22Speaker 7: who can unify the party, who can put that whole
- 35:25Speaker 7: terrible chapter behind them and bring back a lot of
- 35:28Speaker 7: the members really that they've lost and be a strong opposition.
- 35:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 35:33Speaker 6: Yeah, it was amazing. They obviously they made a sort
- 35:35Speaker 6: of tactical and strategic decision during COVID that they just
- 35:38Speaker 6: weren't going to arc up against Dan Andrews. That just
- 35:41Speaker 6: going to let, you know, let Dann be the hero.
- 35:43Speaker 6: And at the time that same kind of sensible. I mean,
- 35:45Speaker 6: you had Dan Andrews being worshiped.
- 35:46Speaker 2: Have I tried to ka, Well, a couple of.
- 35:48Speaker 6: Them did and and got sort of you know, pulled
- 35:51Speaker 6: into line. And then I think one of the most
- 35:53Speaker 6: outspoken members drove his car into something, but it was
- 35:57Speaker 6: literally a car crash. But again you can see that
- 36:01Speaker 6: while that might have been a tactically smart thing, it
- 36:03Speaker 6: was perhaps a strategically stupid thing because now that the
- 36:05Speaker 6: scales are peeling off people's eyes and think, oh my god,
- 36:08Speaker 6: we went through what you know, why weren't we told?
- 36:11Speaker 6: Why wasn't someone out there? And the moderates of the
- 36:13Speaker 6: Liberal Party would just had their heads down, and so,
- 36:15Speaker 6: you know, don't don't question, you know, just just let
- 36:18Speaker 6: Dan just sort of all out and then we'll come
- 36:20Speaker 6: back at the end. And so I can understand pursuitos,
- 36:24Speaker 6: but it's like the idea that sorry, so you know
- 36:29Speaker 6: that casting vote. I just I want to have a
- 36:31Speaker 6: do over? Can we have Hey guys, can we have
- 36:33Speaker 6: a do over? That wasn't live? Wasn't it? Can we
- 36:35Speaker 6: just just do a retake of that? It's just it
- 36:38Speaker 6: is so embarrassing. I cannot believe it. At every single
- 36:42Speaker 6: juncture of this he has made the wrong judgment call.
- 36:45Speaker 6: It has just been foulfoul, foul, foul foul. And again
- 36:50Speaker 6: it has federal implications because the biggest turnaround for the
- 36:54Speaker 6: opposition leaders better. Dudn'sfortunes have been in Victoria. I think
- 36:58Speaker 6: they're trying to pick up maybe about four seats. And
- 37:01Speaker 6: if the Liberal Party continues as the clown show that
- 37:04Speaker 6: it has been recently and quite frankly for years, then
- 37:09Speaker 6: that could undermine the federal effort. I might not. I
- 37:12Speaker 6: think it's always overstated. Mostly Australian voters know the difference
- 37:16Speaker 6: and vote different ways. But you know it's just these
- 37:19Speaker 6: guys just need to just be shuffled and you know,
- 37:23Speaker 6: in a shoe box above a cupboard somewhere.
- 37:25Speaker 2: Well, you have to go to a break.
- 37:27Speaker 3: Coming up on the Late Debate, Beyonce has caused controversy
- 37:30Speaker 3: with her halftime performance. We'll show you why up to this.
- 37:36Speaker 3: Welcome back to the Late Debate. Well, we know the
- 37:38Speaker 3: woke try to ruin Christmas for everyone who celebrates, and
- 37:42Speaker 3: now they're trying to ruin Christmas carols. Yes, the Church
- 37:45Speaker 3: of England priests in the UK have been told to
- 37:49Speaker 3: edit popular carols this Christmas in order to avoid unnecessary offense,
- 37:54Speaker 3: and those.
- 37:55Speaker 2: Singled out as particularly concerning.
- 37:57Speaker 3: Ocmo Emmanuel and Lo He comes Clouds descending. They were
- 38:02Speaker 3: also advised to use language that won't add further confusion
- 38:05Speaker 3: or tension or take away anything from the good news
- 38:10Speaker 3: of the Nativity. Now, this is the last thing we
- 38:13Speaker 3: need for hymns to go.
- 38:14Speaker 6: Work for up. I'm sorry. I had to hate to
- 38:16Speaker 6: interrupt there. They're not hymns, they're thems. I'm sorry.
- 38:23Speaker 2: So do you support this then?
- 38:25Speaker 6: No, no, you go I'm just I'll say myself, Oh.
- 38:28Speaker 7: That's shocking, but no, you're one hundred percent spot on there.
- 38:32Speaker 7: To change hymns that have been written over hundreds of
- 38:35Speaker 7: years now, because all of a sudden we've decided that
- 38:38Speaker 7: we can't stand for the truth or for the Bible.
- 38:41Speaker 2: Is genuinely disgraceful.
- 38:43Speaker 7: And it's no wonder the Church of England's pews are
- 38:46Speaker 7: getting emptier and emptier because the Church no longer stands
- 38:49Speaker 7: for the Bible, which is its foundation. And it's interesting,
- 38:53Speaker 7: like the Gospels in the Bible open with Jesus saying
- 38:56Speaker 7: I am the Way. There are one million ways to
- 39:00Speaker 7: be wrong, but according to the Bible, there is one
- 39:03Speaker 7: way to be right, and it is through Jesus, and
- 39:06Speaker 7: that is what Christmas is all about. Jesus is the way,
- 39:09Speaker 7: the truth and the life. You cannot edit carols to
- 39:14Speaker 7: distort the entire premise of the Gospel, which is that
- 39:17Speaker 7: there maybe there are multiple ways, maybe there are multiple missiles,
- 39:21Speaker 7: multiple true religions. It's like, no, you can believe that
- 39:25Speaker 7: if you want, but that is contrary to the entire Gospel,
- 39:29Speaker 7: the entire church itself. So the fact that the Church
- 39:32Speaker 7: of England is now spouting this stuff is crazy. My
- 39:37Speaker 7: other the other thing that angered me about this story
- 39:39Speaker 7: is they're saying, you can't include any language that would
- 39:43Speaker 7: inflame tensions around the Israel Hamas war. And it's like, oh, sorry, yeah,
- 39:48Speaker 7: Jesus was Jewish, newsflash. And if you're an anti Semite
- 39:52Speaker 7: you might find that a bit offensive, but I'm sorry,
- 39:54Speaker 7: we don't really want you in the church anyway if
- 39:56Speaker 7: you can't deal with the fact that Jesus was a Jew.
- 39:59Speaker 7: And in this carol, O Come, O Come Emmanuel, they
- 40:02Speaker 7: say one of the lines is basically Jesus has come
- 40:06Speaker 7: to ransom captive Israel. And how relevant is that now
- 40:10Speaker 7: when you've got hostages who've been being held captive for
- 40:14Speaker 7: over four hundred days. This is a chance when the
- 40:16Speaker 7: Church should stand with Israel, I should stand against anti Semitism,
- 40:20Speaker 7: should be proud of the fact that Jesus was a
- 40:22Speaker 7: Jew and just own it. But instead they are cowering
- 40:25Speaker 7: and they're destroying the Gospel.
- 40:27Speaker 6: Here I would decay to the Church of England. This
- 40:30Speaker 6: is what you get when you break with Rome. Happy
- 40:33Speaker 6: Now it is obviously just redicause I was at at
- 40:38Speaker 6: Christmas yesterday. I was talking to my in laws and
- 40:41Speaker 6: they I said, what's woke? What's woke? You know, I
- 40:45Speaker 6: was trying to explain it to them, and in the
- 40:48Speaker 6: course of that, I said, look, it's basically all the
- 40:50Speaker 6: dumb stuff that people like me when I was at
- 40:53Speaker 6: UNI used to believe and spout, and our friends would
- 40:58Speaker 6: do it, and you know, the academic mix would do it,
- 41:00Speaker 6: and they would still stay there long after and we'd
- 41:02Speaker 6: leave and grow up, and the academics would still spout
- 41:05Speaker 6: the crazy, dumb stuff, and you know, and the next
- 41:07Speaker 6: generation would come out, and then they'd leave and grow
- 41:09Speaker 6: up and learn what the real world was like and
- 41:11Speaker 6: that will be fine. And then with the advent of
- 41:13Speaker 6: social media, of course, all these ideas take fire and
- 41:17Speaker 6: suddenly perfectly normal people who've never had to endure an
- 41:20Speaker 6: arts degree or a student union election are seeing all
- 41:23Speaker 6: this nuts stuff that just looks absolutely crazy, and so
- 41:26Speaker 6: of course they say you're crazy, this is insane, this
- 41:29Speaker 6: is nuts. And then of course the crazy lefties who
- 41:32Speaker 6: are all saying and say, well, then you're a fascist.
- 41:34Speaker 6: And then a way we go and you got your
- 41:36Speaker 6: first ready made culture. And basically, if you distilled that message,
- 41:40Speaker 6: it is know your audience. It's fine when you're saying,
- 41:43Speaker 6: you know, a bunch of students saying this crap to
- 41:45Speaker 6: each other on campus and out there little rallies, that's
- 41:47Speaker 6: fine when it breaks out. Sometimes fine when it breaks out.
- 41:51Speaker 6: Sometimes it's terrible. But the point is it's usually relatively
- 41:53Speaker 6: contained in both time and space. It's usually on the campus,
- 41:57Speaker 6: and it's while you're a student, and then you move on.
- 41:59Speaker 6: And the different between you know, the nineteen nineties and
- 42:02Speaker 6: now is that social media has set it ablaze and
- 42:05Speaker 6: sent it to people who had just never seen this
- 42:07Speaker 6: crazy stuff before. And again, no your audience. One of
- 42:12Speaker 6: the objections they have with Low. He comes with clouds
- 42:16Speaker 6: of the so called quote unquote problematic words that state
- 42:19Speaker 6: that Jesus is the quote unquote true Messiah. Now, if
- 42:23Speaker 6: you don't think that Jesus is the true Messiah. You're
- 42:28Speaker 6: probably not at that Anglican service on Christmas Day, right
- 42:34Speaker 6: If you are, if you think it's Muhammad, that's fine,
- 42:38Speaker 6: but you're probably lost. And the best thing instead of
- 42:41Speaker 6: editing the carols would be for a nice perission is
- 42:43Speaker 6: they know the mosters is down that way, have a
- 42:45Speaker 6: lovely day, you know, happy Ramadan whatever. And so these
- 42:49Speaker 6: people are just so preoc and again it becomes not
- 42:53Speaker 6: about the audience, not about the greater good, not about
- 42:55Speaker 6: the people, the service you do with the people, but
- 42:57Speaker 6: all about me. How I am so pure and thoughtful
- 43:01Speaker 6: and concerned about other people that I've identified this problem
- 43:05Speaker 6: that no one else as is insightful and sensitive and
- 43:09Speaker 6: concern and caring to identify. And then they talk about
- 43:12Speaker 6: you know, you know, we don't want anything that could
- 43:14Speaker 6: further inflame the situation between Israel and Palestine, the situation
- 43:20Speaker 6: in the Gaza strip. And here I'm not sure. I'm
- 43:23Speaker 6: not sure if the Archbishop of Canterbury has a television
- 43:28Speaker 6: or access to the internet. Maybe these and Wi Fi,
- 43:30Speaker 6: but it's already pretty inflamed. And I'm pretty sure it
- 43:35Speaker 6: wasn't started by a bunch of godless protties seeing Christmas carols.
- 43:42Speaker 2: We have to move on to the US.
- 43:44Speaker 3: The University of Minnesota is looking for gender davers children
- 43:48Speaker 3: as young as five years old to play with transgender dolls.
- 43:52Speaker 2: For a research project. This is in Fox News today.
- 43:55Speaker 3: The University of Minnesota is offering to pay parents of
- 43:58Speaker 3: transgender and gender diverse children to have their kids play
- 44:02Speaker 3: with unconventional dolls complete with genitals. The National Center for
- 44:07Speaker 3: Gender Spectrum Health at the university said that we're looking
- 44:10Speaker 3: to hear from transgender and gender diverse children between the
- 44:13Speaker 3: ages of five and ten years old and their parents
- 44:17Speaker 3: about and new hands on activity to help talk about
- 44:20Speaker 3: gender and bodies.
- 44:22Speaker 2: University noted that it'll pay.
- 44:24Speaker 3: Around twenty dollars or between twenty and sixty dollars per
- 44:27Speaker 3: group for the studies, and families will be asked for
- 44:30Speaker 3: their feedback on this so called new therapeutic tool called
- 44:34Speaker 3: my Gender Dolls.
- 44:36Speaker 2: Pray.
- 44:36Speaker 3: This is so sick, gender diverse as young as five
- 44:39Speaker 3: young children. Why is this nonsense getting pushed on to
- 44:43Speaker 3: parents and young children.
- 44:45Speaker 7: The idea that a kid could even get a doll
- 44:48Speaker 7: with all these like different genitals and internal organs and
- 44:52Speaker 7: clothes and then somehow express their innermost feelings about their
- 44:57Speaker 7: identity through this doll in a really meaningful way. I
- 45:01Speaker 7: wanted to be a unicorn when I was five, Like,
- 45:03Speaker 7: come on, someone had taken me into a university been like, so,
- 45:07Speaker 7: how do you feel these wild animals express your inner identity?
- 45:11Speaker 2: I would have been seriously confused.
- 45:13Speaker 7: The job of a parent is to teach a child
- 45:16Speaker 7: what is and isn't real and help them understand their
- 45:20Speaker 7: place within an objective and.
- 45:22Speaker 2: Very real reality.
- 45:24Speaker 7: You cannot treat kids as though they are the parent
- 45:28Speaker 7: and they have this like internal expressive identity that just
- 45:31Speaker 7: needs to be let out through gender diverse dolls. It's
- 45:35Speaker 7: fantasy land and it will damage these children absolutely well.
- 45:38Speaker 2: Just quickly.
- 45:39Speaker 3: The Internet has erupted after Beyonce's halftime performance at the
- 45:42Speaker 3: Christmas Day game between the Houston Texans and the Baltimore Ravens,
- 45:46Speaker 3: and the singer entered the stadium on a horse and
- 45:49Speaker 3: performed songs from her most recent album. But the Internet
- 45:53Speaker 3: is reacting after the pop star made a gun.
- 45:56Speaker 2: Gesture with her hands.
- 45:58Speaker 3: There she is and now so Several NFL stars have
- 46:01Speaker 3: made these gestures after a touchdown, but the league has
- 46:04Speaker 3: been cracking down on these demonstrations that potentially include gestures
- 46:08Speaker 3: of violence, and game officials have thrown flags at those
- 46:12Speaker 3: who have made them. We've heard from the NFL executive
- 46:15Speaker 3: Troy Vincent in an October meeting saying that there's no
- 46:19Speaker 3: place in professional football for that. So now the Internet
- 46:22Speaker 3: is erupting Joe and people are saying, is Beyonce going
- 46:25Speaker 3: to get fined for this?
- 46:25Speaker 6: I just want to know she bloods or crips? I
- 46:29Speaker 6: thinking again, you know, just like the entire conflict between
- 46:33Speaker 6: Israel and Palestine started because of someone singing the old
- 46:36Speaker 6: lyrics of a Christmas carol. Gun violence in America is
- 46:40Speaker 6: a problem because Beyonce did this. Yeah, like, carry on, we.
- 46:46Speaker 2: Have to go to a break. But stay with us.
- 46:47Speaker 3: We're going to look at how the Royal family celebrated Christmas.
- 46:54Speaker 3: Welcome back to the late debate. Well, Prince Louis. Vision
- 46:58Speaker 3: has emerged of him absolutely beaming as he accepted boxes
- 47:02Speaker 3: of Cadbury chocolate.
- 47:04Speaker 2: Take a look at that look and the smile says
- 47:07Speaker 2: it all.
- 47:07Speaker 3: I'll be smiling like that too if I was gifted
- 47:09Speaker 3: Cadbury chocolates by members of the public. But there he
- 47:13Speaker 3: is enjoying his moment at Christmas. But on what grounds
- 47:17Speaker 3: should Christmas be canceled? My opinion, absolutely none. But a
- 47:21Speaker 3: wife has revealed that she has canceled Christmas after her
- 47:24Speaker 3: husband bought an expensive gift for his friend instead of her.
- 47:29Speaker 2: So the twenty eight year old took to social.
- 47:31Speaker 3: Media to explain that her partner splashed out one hundred
- 47:33Speaker 3: and fifty dollars on the friend, but only twenty dollars
- 47:36Speaker 3: on her.
- 47:37Speaker 2: Look, Joe, what do you make of this?
- 47:39Speaker 3: I think someone needs to remind her it's not all
- 47:41Speaker 3: about the Christmas present.
- 47:43Speaker 6: Well, who we need to unpack this bit gab. Firstly,
- 47:45Speaker 6: it was not just a friend. It was a gaming buddy,
- 47:48Speaker 6: which I feel like undermines the whole thing. And the
- 47:50Speaker 6: twenty dollars gift was a candle. I like a candle,
- 47:54Speaker 6: Yeah I know, but the candle is also the quintessential
- 47:57Speaker 6: gift that a husband gets his wife when he has
- 47:59Speaker 6: no idea what she actually likes, what she does. No, no,
- 48:03Speaker 6: no no no. Women love candles. Men just men have
- 48:06Speaker 6: no respect for candles, and so by virtue, it's a
- 48:09Speaker 6: lack of respect for It's also foolish because she can
- 48:11Speaker 6: use it to set fire to him and shove it
- 48:14Speaker 6: where the Sundays.
- 48:15Speaker 3: Is she right though, to cancel Christmas is not hosting?
- 48:18Speaker 6: Yes? Absolutely, yep, yep, I'm an ally Yep.
- 48:22Speaker 7: No, I don't think cancel Christmas. But I think make
- 48:26Speaker 7: him feel really really bad that he's screwed it up,
- 48:29Speaker 7: and maybe shame him in front of all the other
- 48:30Speaker 7: guests that are coming over.
- 48:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 48:32Speaker 3: I don't think you can actually cancel Christmas. And then
- 48:35Speaker 3: he's written about and on social media.
- 48:36Speaker 2: If you really want to ask, lad.
- 48:38Speaker 6: Cancel Christmas? Just ruin it?
- 48:40Speaker 7: But an online gaming friend, and what do you get
- 48:43Speaker 7: an online game friend? Is this like the AI chatbot
- 48:46Speaker 7: girlfriend situation? Because then I would really have sympathy for her.
- 48:49Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 48:49Speaker 6: Yeah, I think that his online gaming buddy is Foxy
- 48:52Speaker 6: bubble Toes.
- 48:53Speaker 7: Yeah, so that's the red flat and he's bought a
- 48:55Speaker 7: ninety minute chat session or something so.
- 48:59Speaker 6: Bad listens to it. Candles, We have.
- 49:02Speaker 3: To go thank you so much for your company this
- 49:04Speaker 3: evening on at the late debates, Stay with us coming up.
- 49:07Speaker 3: Elizabeth the iond A Life of Duty
