- 0:00Get laced up! Let's go! It's time for Banter
- 0:04with the Boys! Welcome to Banter with the Boys
- 0:16Gridiron Update. So this is Smeltsy and next
- 0:19to my left here, what? It's Jake, yep. Wrong
- 0:22purple. And Roberto. And the right coach. Jake's
- 0:25in the wrong purple. Always. No, I'm in the right
- 0:27purple. I mean, it's pretty close. Again, we've
- 0:29mentioned it already tonight in other shows,
- 0:31but the Ravens have copied the Vikings rivalry
- 0:35jerseys. Excuse me. Hey, when they're good, they're
- 0:38good. You know they're solid when someone copies
- 0:41them. Right. That's right. That's right. All
- 0:43right. Note to self. Get the all black. Got it.
- 0:45There you go. Hey, that would actually look good,
- 0:47too. Yeah. Ravens do have sweet jerseys. NFC
- 0:51East. NFC East. Let's start with the Dallas Cowboys.
- 0:56The team everybody wants to know about. America's
- 1:00team? America's team, yeah, that's right. Are
- 1:03they officially still? I don't even know. According
- 1:05to Jerry Jones, I bet they are. The Chiefs have
- 1:07everybody's hearts, honestly. I agree. Probably.
- 1:10I think the Chiefs brought in a lot of football
- 1:12fans. And then Taylor Swift started watching,
- 1:14and then that brought in a whole bunch of new
- 1:16football fans. I think the Chiefs are the poster
- 1:19child of the NFL when they're, you know, trying
- 1:23to spread the game. The Swifties. Anyway, yeah,
- 1:26what are we talking about? Dallas Cowboys. 7
- 1:28-9 -1 last year. Womp womp. Excuse me, Jesus.
- 1:334 -7 in their conference. Oof. Oof. I mean, they
- 1:38are. Which is not. I mean, their conference isn't
- 1:40that awesome, per se, because the Commanders
- 1:43had an off year as well. The Eagles are a weird
- 1:47team. This is actually a really weird conference
- 1:49this year. I feel like the East is a weird conference
- 1:52every year. It is. It is. You actually never
- 1:54know what's going to happen, and that's why I'm
- 1:56going to pick the Cowboys to win the division.
- 2:01Well, let's talk about who's on their team. What?
- 2:04They've got people on their team? It's the same
- 2:06people. No, it's not. I mean, they added Rashawn
- 2:09Gary and Roderick Jones, like, what, today, I
- 2:12think it was, from the Steelers. But he's a penalty
- 2:16monster. Do you like the Pickens franchise tag?
- 2:20I think they should have tried to sign the guy.
- 2:23I think he's shown. I think he is actually a
- 2:27solid 2A, if not, like. Okay, giving him a 1C
- 2:32is pretty much a 2A, isn't it? But I don't know.
- 2:34I think he's perfect for that offense right next
- 2:37to CeeDee Lamb. If you can hear the cricket,
- 2:39we are currently recording outside. At the Arctic
- 2:44Lodge. Arctic? I thought it was the Nordic. Inside
- 2:48is Nordic. Outside is the Arctic Lodge. That's
- 2:51right. I remember that. With the crickets in
- 2:54the Arctic Lodge. Yep. Anyway, I wish I would
- 2:59have signed him. I think he's perfect for that
- 3:01offense. I think he's a great addition, good
- 3:03target for Dak. I actually really like their
- 3:06offense and expect them to be just as good this
- 3:11year offensively, which is why I think they kind
- 3:14of end up getting to the 10 -win mark, if not
- 3:18over it, and compete for that division title
- 3:21with Philly probably. I think to hit that 10
- 3:24win mark, it's their defense has to get better.
- 3:27They did slightly. Slightly. That's where I'm
- 3:30going. Yeah, yeah. I don't know what I'm going
- 3:34to say. But anyway, so trading for Rashawn Gary,
- 3:39they signed Von Miller, like good pass rushers,
- 3:44something that they need to do. I mean, up there.
- 3:48And then drafting Caleb Downs. Like him. Yeah,
- 3:52with their first pick in the first round. And
- 3:55then following that up with their other first
- 3:56-round pick, Malachi Lawrence. Again, going really
- 4:00heavy on the defensive side. Which they needed.
- 4:02Yeah, desperately. So I think, yeah, you're going
- 4:08to see him swing over. I would probably say nine
- 4:12wins. Ten might be a stretch. CeeDee Lamb's got
- 4:18to stay healthy. prove that he can, like, catch
- 4:22the ball when it matters most. He did have some
- 4:25sun issues in the old Dallas stadium. But they
- 4:29won't be getting taken care of. No, no. He said
- 4:32no curtains. He said no. I know. So, I mean,
- 4:35that's of concerns. That feels weird to me. Wouldn't
- 4:38you want, like, if they're saying, hey. Like,
- 4:41it's affecting our ability to win you a frickin'
- 4:44football game. Like, don't you think you'd want
- 4:46to put some curtains on that? Yeah, you'd think
- 4:47so. I mean, in Major League Baseball, if a baseball
- 4:52team is saying, hey, this background is preventing
- 4:54our ability to see the ball and hit it, they'd
- 4:56change it right away. Do you think if it was
- 4:59an away team saying it, the NFL would step in?
- 5:01No. Oh, I'm just curious. Because it's their
- 5:04own building. They're like, well, if he doesn't
- 5:06want to do it, he doesn't want to do it. They
- 5:07built the stadium the wrong direction. Yeah,
- 5:09they did. I mean, Cowboys offense is... My boy,
- 5:15Javante Williams. Yeah, he had a great year last
- 5:18year. The last few years, we're worried about
- 5:21who's going to be running back. Once Elliot was
- 5:26kind of aged out, they had Pollard for a year.
- 5:28Enrico. They tried a couple different guys. Williams
- 5:32played really nice coming off multiple injury
- 5:35years up in Denver. Pick and signing, I think
- 5:39it really makes that one -two combo a huge threat.
- 5:42What do you think about the franchise tag thing?
- 5:45I don't know what their pocketbooks look like.
- 5:48I think they wanted to spend a lot more money
- 5:49on the defensive side. They want to solidify
- 5:53that first before coming to George Pickens. Or
- 5:56Pickens, or maybe Lamb is gone next year. There's
- 5:59different scenarios. You could look at that,
- 6:01too. He's been kind of not very healthy. I really
- 6:04love the Dallas draft pick. I watched a ton of
- 6:07tape on him. Dallas is going to compete for the
- 6:10East. It's staying healthy. Their biggest issue
- 6:12has just been staying healthy, whether it's one
- 6:14of the receivers or Dak getting hurt. The defense
- 6:17should be definitely better than they have in
- 6:19the last few years. I think they can compete
- 6:24for it, but I'm thinking 10, 11 wins is where
- 6:28they're sitting at. I could see a ceiling where
- 6:31they get up to 14. I'm vibing Dallas this year
- 6:37on their offense a little bit, and then they
- 6:39spend a ton on their defensive side, which they
- 6:41needed. You wanted to give me crap about that.
- 6:43About what? About Dallas. No, I'm just telling
- 6:46you what I think. But that was all pre -recorded.
- 6:48He was trying to throw me off the set. That's
- 6:49what it was. So we couldn't take his ideas. No.
- 6:53That's what it is. We get in fights off camera.
- 6:56Yeah, I mean, it's everything that we've just
- 7:01talked about. To me, it's them being healthy.
- 7:06And it's the defense because last year they were
- 7:08top 10 in pressures and pressures is good, but
- 7:12they were bottom 10 in sacks. So they were getting
- 7:14there, but they weren't finishing it. So, and
- 7:17that's hopefully defensive rankings in general.
- 7:19Yeah. So hopefully that's the signing of. Miller
- 7:23getting Gary and Malachi Lawrence, like, that
- 7:26puts them over the edge where it's like, all
- 7:28right, we're finally getting to the quarterback.
- 7:29We're getting those sacks. We're getting that
- 7:31important, like, a more important statistic.
- 7:34Pressures are good to some point, but. Got to
- 7:37finish the playoff. Yeah, and you got to have
- 7:38the secondary on the backside to have a little
- 7:40sticky coverage. But, you know, if you're getting
- 7:42to them, the guy's wide open, you know. So, like
- 7:45you say in Dow's, and then they picked up a couple
- 7:47other Thomas on the backside, too. So, and Clark.
- 7:53Is he aging out, or has he still got a little
- 7:55bit left in the tank there? He might have a little
- 7:57bit left in the tank. So? Right at 30 years old.
- 8:02So, you know, I got a little bit left in the
- 8:03tank. Okay. You know what I mean? Where you guys
- 8:05got him finishing, record -wise? I said the same
- 8:09as you. Okay. Before you said it, so actually
- 8:11you took my shit. Yeah. Nine, ten wins. Okay.
- 8:15So we're kind of right in the same thing. So
- 8:17maybe wild card? Maybe, but I think the NFC is
- 8:22going to be a lot more competitive in the wild
- 8:25card market. Like that NFC West? Yeah, the NFC
- 8:31West. And we'll get there. You probably have
- 8:34three teams coming out of that for the playoffs
- 8:36again. Not the NFC North? No. Okay. Screw the
- 8:42Vikings. All right, let's talk about the old
- 8:45New York Giants. How high are you on Jackson
- 8:52Dart? Crickets. Yeah, did you hear that right
- 8:57when I started? No, like realistically. I mean,
- 9:01like, excuse me, because funny enough, like,
- 9:04you know, Kev, me, and Justin, our Packer fan
- 9:07who's not here tonight. Like, we all do this
- 9:10card show stuff. Graham, our guy from, that was
- 9:12a Kansas City fan. And the dart stuff is, like,
- 9:15really high right now, really high, because they
- 9:17expect him to continue to develop. And if that
- 9:19happens, his card value, you know, continues
- 9:21to skyrocket as well. How healthy can he stay?
- 9:24Right. I'm not necessarily sold on him all the
- 9:27way yet. It's a if. If he can play smart and
- 9:34stay healthy, I think he could be a really great
- 9:37quarterback. Because he's got an interesting
- 9:40coach to teach him, you know, get him there.
- 9:44What were you going to say, Robert? His playing
- 9:47style is he's got to have the ability to run
- 9:50the ball, you know, and that makes him super
- 9:52effective. And his decisions, once he crosses
- 9:55the line, is going to determine his length of
- 9:58the thing. I'm really worried about. How healthy
- 10:03is neighbors on the outside, too? Scataboo got
- 10:08injured last year. Tracy, their other starting
- 10:10running back, neck injury right now. He's kind
- 10:14of in the home right now. He's got Najee Harris.
- 10:17You do have Najee Harris. And Devin Singletary.
- 10:21I mean, the running back room is pretty deep,
- 10:22though. Does that move the needle or anything
- 10:24for you, really? No, it's just a deep running
- 10:25back room. Well, John Harbaugh is going to, I
- 10:28mean, with John Harbaugh. showing up there. It's
- 10:31going to be a new offensive identity, very similar
- 10:33to what you saw in Baltimore. You're going to
- 10:35see most likely a lot of punts. Well, they've
- 10:40got the punter for it. Yeah, but they're from
- 10:43Baltimore. That's right. And Ricard and Likely.
- 10:45Yes, exactly. Ricard is crucial, actually. That's
- 10:49interesting. Yeah. I think they're setting themselves
- 10:54up to try and get Jackson Dart to play smarter
- 10:58and safer with what they have right now. Now,
- 11:04Scataboo is a different story because if the
- 11:07goal is, hey, we're running the football, Scataboo
- 11:10just runs crazy. I don't know how long you can
- 11:15do that. Yeah, how long you can protect him from
- 11:17himself. Like that video of him shaking off,
- 11:19what was it, three commanders? I love that. Like,
- 11:22of course, naturally. But when you think about
- 11:25it, you're like, can you do that for 10 years?
- 11:27Because what's the minimum to get all the retirement
- 11:29package from NFL? I know MLB, it's like 10 years,
- 11:32whatever. But you want to get to that point,
- 11:34so then you at least have something set up for
- 11:37yourself. But if you can't get there... If he's
- 11:39in the league by we're 30, good luck. That's
- 11:42what I mean, man. What's left of your... Who
- 11:44knows? Mike Allstott did it. I mean, there was
- 11:47a handful of people that chugged away through,
- 11:49but getting injured your first rookie season.
- 11:52Adrian Peterson was an aggressive runner. I don't
- 11:57know if they did enough to move the needle for
- 11:59me. I don't remember exactly where they finished
- 12:01last year. Four and 13. Yeah, so maybe I'm going
- 12:04six, seven. They put that crap and mad in this
- 12:10year. You know that? You can do that as a celly.
- 12:13You probably do all the time. I don't. No, but
- 12:16when they put the gritty in, I definitely did
- 12:18that one. Oh, why wouldn't you? Of course, naturally.
- 12:21Yeah, so you're saying what's 11 wins for the
- 12:24Giants? Are you insane? I'm thinking about seven.
- 12:27I can maybe get them to 500 ceiling. Do you think
- 12:31they improve, though, over the four? I mean,
- 12:33losing in the middle of Dexter is a big loss.
- 12:37Burns has really got to step up defensively.
- 12:40But they loaded up, too, on the defensive side
- 12:42because they signed Tremaine Edmonds, DJ Reader.
- 12:47They drafted Arvel Reese. They have an interesting
- 12:51story to their story. Defense is loaded with
- 12:55pass rushers, and maybe we'll finally actually
- 12:58see that payoff, though. They have to be in the
- 13:01lead for that to be effective, though, and that's
- 13:04what scares me. Because they've had those guys,
- 13:06and they've had a great defensive line for the
- 13:08last few years, but when they're playing from
- 13:10behind most of the time, they're not as effective.
- 13:13Like the Vikings ate them up last year, and McCarthy
- 13:16was in it. And I thought they were going to be
- 13:21a better defense, too. So, yeah, they've added
- 13:23some pieces to it, but I don't know if the offense
- 13:25is good enough to let that defense be as good
- 13:29as they can be. It's kind of how I look at it.
- 13:32They're just going to be on the field too much.
- 13:34For my liking, no matter who you have on the
- 13:37defense, if you're on the field more than 50
- 13:39% of the time, good luck. But they're a really
- 13:43interesting team. That's why I kind of am like,
- 13:45oh, could they get up to that 8 -9 team win?
- 13:47Because they got some talent. And I do love John
- 13:50Harbaugh coming in there and putting his fingerprint
- 13:53on them. And other than Holland, I mean, they
- 13:55got a younger secondary back there as well. to
- 13:58go along with some of those younger pieces as
- 14:00well defensively, other than your vets, Burns
- 14:03and Reeder, like you were mentioning. I mean,
- 14:05they've been drafting top 10 for like five years
- 14:07now. Yeah, they're really not that bad defensively.
- 14:10I know. But I feel like I've been seeing that
- 14:13for a couple years now, especially when they
- 14:15traded for Burns. I'm like, oh, my God. When
- 14:18they had Dexter, I'm like, how are they going
- 14:20to block those guys? Yeah, you're right. And
- 14:22then the Vikes did kind of like just they were
- 14:24kind of non -factors. Hmm. Yeah, I think I got
- 14:28to go like six wins at least. I'll at least get
- 14:31two more than they did last year. That's all
- 14:34I got to give them. What did you give them? Eleven.
- 14:38No, that's ridiculous. No, I agree. They're probably
- 14:45in the six to seven win range. They could easily
- 14:50be that three and 14 team that does make the
- 14:52playoffs, though, because there's always one.
- 14:54Three and 14 team? You know what I mean? The
- 14:57team that drafts in the top ten and makes the
- 15:00Jalen, Daniel -style run. Who was last year?
- 15:05That made the commander -type run? Yeah. I mean,
- 15:09it was crazy to see the Patriots get that. Yeah,
- 15:12the Patriots, yeah. They're the exact same one.
- 15:14All right. Let's talk about the commanders quick,
- 15:18and then we'll talk about Philly to wrap it up.
- 15:23Well. Can we even say the number five? Because
- 15:28that seems like a big distraction right now.
- 15:30Like where is all this coming from? He's his
- 15:35own agent or is it his mom? No, his mom. I think
- 15:38it was all on that side of it. Because you fell
- 15:42in love with Jaden Daniels big time in that quarterback
- 15:44show too, didn't you? He's a solid dude. Definitely
- 15:47a solid human being. Is this going to be a distraction,
- 15:53or is this gone by the time the season starts?
- 15:56This whole five thing and all this crap. I think
- 15:58the internet's moved past it. I could see the
- 16:02opposing fans visiting stadium that he goes in
- 16:06all year. He's probably going to deal with it.
- 16:08Or there's signs everywhere. Yeah, for sure.
- 16:10He's going to have to deal with it on that aspect,
- 16:12but I don't know if it's going to make the media
- 16:13anymore. How about adding Stephon Diggs to that
- 16:16offense, giving him another target behind Scary
- 16:19Terry? I mean, they needed another target. It's
- 16:23all about Daniel staying healthy. Because he's
- 16:26that same Jackson Dart style. He runs. It's protecting
- 16:30himself. They, last year, loaded up. I don't
- 16:35remember all their signings last year. Kind of
- 16:38like what the Patriots are doing this year. They
- 16:40loaded up and everyone, you know, but then they
- 16:42just injuries. Scary Terry was not the same.
- 16:45They were just bid in every direction. And then
- 16:48as soon as your starting quarterback goes down,
- 16:50you know, he fought through it. QB, you know,
- 16:53he played through some games he probably shouldn't
- 16:55have. That Vikings game he probably shouldn't
- 16:57have played. But when Daniels is playing good.
- 17:03I still got to put him at 10 wins just because
- 17:06of Jaden Daniels. I think he has that ability
- 17:08to move. Defense, I don't know. It'll be interesting.
- 17:15They retooled on the defensive side, though.
- 17:17A bunch of vets. I kind of like it, though. Okay.
- 17:23Because, I mean, yeah, they're vets. They're
- 17:26older players. But it's Dan Quinn. He runs and
- 17:31has a different style and defensive mentality.
- 17:34It's like Robert Sala. They're just going to
- 17:38be fired up, and you're going to want to run
- 17:41through a wall for those guys. Go get them. They
- 17:45had a retool, though. They were aging out. Yeah.
- 17:49I really, really like seeing them draft Sonny
- 17:52Stiles. He's a very gifted individual, and I
- 17:57think he's going to fit very well in that defense,
- 17:59pretty much doing whatever he wants. And then
- 18:03Leo Chanel is a great piece as far as pass rushing.
- 18:09We've seen him make countless plays for the Chiefs
- 18:12on the defensive side in Spagnola's defenses.
- 18:16So there's just great pieces there. I think losing
- 18:19Debo or cutting Debo is a big thing. Having that
- 18:24Swiss Army knife that... that tool, um, digs
- 18:29is different and unique, but I feel like he's
- 18:31more like Terry. And why do you need two Terry's
- 18:34when you could have had like Debo catching it,
- 18:38like out of the backfield, um, more slant stuff
- 18:42versus like outs and ins and things like that.
- 18:45So, um, like I like digs, but I think Debo was,
- 18:50was better and is more of a missing is going
- 18:53to be missed. And Diggs will open up Scary Terry
- 18:57at all a little bit? Not really. He's not that
- 19:00much of a threat to you anymore. I don't think
- 19:02he's that dynamic of a wide receiver as Debo
- 19:06is when you compare the two. I mean, Diggs is
- 19:11dynamic in his own way, but I think he's dynamic
- 19:14like Terry. So I would still move my coverage
- 19:19to Terry and let old Diggs beat me if I need
- 19:22to. Or want to. And I'm fine with that. They've
- 19:26got to figure out their run game. Yeah, I was
- 19:28just thinking, ever since they traded Brian Robinson
- 19:30Jr. last year, we were like, what are they doing
- 19:32at the run back? Yeah, it's like, you've got
- 19:34Bill Merritt. They signed Rashad White. Are they
- 19:39going to be able to piece a 1 ,100 -yard running
- 19:43game between the two of them? I don't know. Yeah,
- 19:46their running back's completely different from
- 19:49two years ago when Daniels had that year. Right.
- 19:52Because there was Eckler and Bryan Robinson Jr.
- 19:55And Eckler had gotten hurt. I don't know if I
- 19:57trust either of them. Any of these guys, honestly.
- 20:01I mean, I kind of trust Rashad White because
- 20:03he did pretty good in Tampa. Until he sprained
- 20:06his ankle on the ice bucket challenge. Right
- 20:09now he's dealing with a hamstring, too. So where
- 20:13you guys got him at? I think I was about 10.
- 20:16Nine. I think they're just over 500. The East
- 20:21is just going to be a lot more competitive this
- 20:23year than I think the years past. Yeah, injury
- 20:27bug too. We'll see. Daniel's his style of play.
- 20:32And whether he has enough weapons where he doesn't
- 20:34feel like he has to do it himself. Yeah, I think
- 20:36I got to go seven. That running back room is
- 20:39extremely concerning for me. And like what you
- 20:44were saying about Debo, at least, you know, like
- 20:47you said, behind the line of scrimmage plays
- 20:49were huge for him and have been his whole career.
- 20:52So losing that now, I don't know. I do still
- 20:56feel Diggs can open up enough for Scary Terry
- 20:59to go kind of be a little bit deeper threat compared
- 21:02to Diggs, kind of open up the deeper stuff so
- 21:06Diggs can take all underneath, sprinkle in a
- 21:08little Luke McCaffrey or something. I don't know,
- 21:14seven. Seven wins for me for the Commanders this
- 21:16year. Slightly better than last year, but yeah,
- 21:18tough division. Depends on what the Giants are
- 21:21going to do, but the Eagles and the Cowboys will
- 21:26be tough against Washington. If they don't make
- 21:28the playoffs, you said, so Daniel's three, only
- 21:31one of his three years he made the playoffs,
- 21:33because remember after his first year, it was,
- 21:35you know. Like, oh, my gosh, he's going to make
- 21:37the playoffs every year. Yeah. But that just
- 21:39shows you how the NFL turns quickly. Well, it's
- 21:42usually those dual -threat quarterbacks, too,
- 21:46as they come out of college so fast and so ridiculous.
- 21:49Yeah. And then not all the time they get injured,
- 21:51but usually something happens, and then they
- 21:53change their game up a little bit, and then everybody's
- 21:55figured them out. But that's what makes Lamar
- 21:57so special, the longevity and his ability to
- 22:00protect himself, you know, and still be a super
- 22:04threat on the ground. Yeah, so. The Eagles. Eagles.
- 22:11Fly, Eagles. Cry, Eagles, cry. My kids love singing
- 22:16that. But you know dang well they're going to
- 22:19somehow be competing for the division. New offensive
- 22:23coordinator there. Again. Again. My coworker
- 22:27will love this conversation. Eagles fans, we
- 22:30talk a lot about what's going on up in Philadelphia.
- 22:34He's super excited for the new OC. I think they
- 22:37should be. And then to bring in a nice new receiver
- 22:41with that, too, in Lemon. I kind of like him.
- 22:43He seemed to drop in the draft a little bit,
- 22:45too. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, you get to work with
- 22:50a lot of targets here, a lot of weapons. Devontae
- 22:53Smith, I mean, Barkley, obviously. Dontavian
- 22:56Wicks, I don't know. He was serviceable in Green
- 22:59Bay. Yes, he was. And I think he was quiet about
- 23:04it also just because of, again, the depth of
- 23:08the Green Bay Packer wide receiver group. It's
- 23:11weird to think that that room's shredded now
- 23:14from what it was. They're still deep. I mean,
- 23:20Jalen Hurts is just... Every year, I feel like
- 23:24we talk about, everybody always talks about Jalen
- 23:26Hurst. Like, is he still doing, you know, is
- 23:29he a just enough guy? I mean, last year, it was
- 23:33kind of another weird thing. They start off hot.
- 23:36Some of them, they kind of teeter out towards
- 23:38the end. I think they're falling prey to their
- 23:45fan base expecting more, like, flash and pizzazz
- 23:52out of the out of the offense yeah like big plays
- 23:55kind of thing and they're not seeing that and
- 23:59they're not getting that and they're and the
- 24:01fan base is just not happy with it it's like
- 24:03yeah like they're they're they're they were winning
- 24:06games obviously because they were 11 and 6 but
- 24:08they're not like flashy wins they're ugly wins
- 24:11with all that money on the outside of all these
- 24:14skill players you're like oh we should easily
- 24:16put up 35 exactly and like what do you mean we
- 24:19only won by three points yeah well we won like
- 24:21well no you should be winning by more kind of
- 24:24thing so um i totally agree with that that's
- 24:27a good analogy there yeah so um i do worry a
- 24:32little bit about introducing a new offensive
- 24:34coordinator again it's the fourth one in four
- 24:36years there's some Pros or cons to that. Learning
- 24:40a new offense, again, sucks. Retooling towards
- 24:44that. But I believe in Jalen Hurts. I think he's
- 24:50a smart enough guy. Being good to do enough is
- 24:56good enough. It's one of them is Super Bowl.
- 24:59Yep, that's right. And when you have the type
- 25:02of talent you have around you, you don't have
- 25:04to be the guy. Right. Unlike the Jaden Daniels
- 25:07situation where he kind of has to be the guy
- 25:09in that situation. And maybe that's where it
- 25:11gets lost. Yeah. Jalen Hurts has never really
- 25:15had to be the dude in Philly. He's had some weapons.
- 25:19But it's also he's shown where if he needs to,
- 25:23he can be the dude. If he doesn't have to be,
- 25:27then why? Why force them into that? I think the
- 25:32Eagles are still the best team in this division.
- 25:35Probably still 11 wins. Hopefully it's a little
- 25:39bit flashier and we're not going to hear Philly
- 25:41fans complaining about how the offense sucks
- 25:44even though they're still racking up wins. That's
- 25:46football, man. It's not flashy. At least for
- 25:50me, I get excited about a good defense and Philadelphia,
- 25:53again, it can be fun to watch on defense. Who
- 25:57was it? Which one of them did they re -sign?
- 25:59Was it Jalen Carter or Jordan Davis? They re
- 26:01-signed both of them. Carter to the big deal.
- 26:04Yeah, they both got big deals. Just a ridiculous
- 26:06deal. But, I mean, that's the defense, man. You
- 26:09lost to Kobe Dean, but you still have a lot of
- 26:11Georgia Bulldogs there. Just, oh, my God, still
- 26:14killing it. Grenard, I think he's, isn't he supposed
- 26:17to miss the first few weeks? Yeah, he's pretty
- 26:20banged up. And their conversations, he might
- 26:23not play at all. What? Like the whole season?
- 26:26Well, not yet, but it's one of those injuries
- 26:28that you don't quite know because I think he
- 26:30was dealing a little bit with the same injury
- 26:32last year. Okay. And now it's starting to, and
- 26:38he's not the youngest player anymore, so it's
- 26:41one of those kind of that lingering things. It's
- 26:44going to be interesting, that defense, because
- 26:45they did lose a few people. Blankenship, they
- 26:47lost Dean, they lost Phillips. They lost some
- 26:51guys. They still have all those big names on
- 26:54the outside, but some of that interior, some
- 26:57of that depth, I feel Feely's window is kind
- 27:01of that getting near the closing because they're
- 27:05going to have to assign all those guys on the
- 27:07back end here in the next few years. And obviously
- 27:11losing Brown's contract. helps, but he's still
- 27:15got Barkley with a big contract. He's got Hurst.
- 27:17I'm really interested to see how Smith becomes
- 27:22the one there i i think he has the ability to
- 27:24do it for sure he does um i do like the lemon
- 27:27sign i think philly's gonna be still there they're
- 27:31just gonna be fine um defense it'll be interesting
- 27:34to see how good they are i think i think they're
- 27:37still gonna be fine but are they gonna be to
- 27:39the level we kind of experienced them in the
- 27:42last few years um with also this nice offense
- 27:45so yeah i still think they're gonna i think they're
- 27:4811 12 wins Probably going to win this division.
- 27:51Right on. Right on. I'm going, like, one less
- 27:55than that. I think 10. And they're going to be
- 27:57battling kind of like another neck -and -neck
- 27:59race between, like, them and Dallas. And I think
- 28:02Dallas edges them out this year. Okay. Where
- 28:05did you put the Eagles? Did I miss it? Yeah.
- 28:08I missed it. 10 wins. God, we just all agree.
- 28:13What a fun show. All right. Well, but that's,
- 28:16I think that's everybody, right? It wraps the
- 28:19NFC East. It does. We still have the North Southwest
- 28:22to go. Three to go. That's it. Oh, yeah. There's
- 28:26the thing. I could just look up there. You know
- 28:28what I mean? Yeah. Well, thanks for being here,
- 28:31fellas. We got a couple more to go. We got this.
- 28:34Yeah. We got it. We're getting this all done.
- 28:38Ripping through the preseason, baby. That's right.
