- 0:02Hey. Everybody, welcome to the good
- 0:04morning from the Chicken Coop podcast.

- 0:09creative strategist and. Also happened.
- 0:11To be a farmer. This is my chicken coop and I
- 0:13come out here. Every day to record a podcast
- 0:16to. Teach distinctions,
- 0:18possibilities, new ways of thinking, and just bring some.
- 0:21Joy into the world. So welcome to the coop and let's
- 0:24start your day off in a fantastic way.
- 0:27Hey everybody, good morning. And this is the first podcast
- 0:32from my new phone. My other iPhone ran out of
- 0:35memory, was giving me all kinds of grief.
- 0:37The last four days has been nightmarish with it.
- 0:41It has just had so many issues. It started just before Christmas
- 0:46and it has just been not inconsistent, can't do what I
- 0:51want it to do because it doesn't have enough memory available,
- 0:54whatever it is that you need. But I ended up getting a new
- 0:57one. And here's the crazy part of
- 0:59this. And this is what this is about
- 1:00today. I'm very tech savvy.
- 1:02Like when I sit down my laptop, I can like just do incredible
- 1:07things because I love being a nerd in the laptop.
- 1:11This iPhone, though, was making me unbelievably nervous when I
- 1:16was putting it all together. And my son actually pointed out
- 1:19to me, he's like, mom, why are you getting so nervous about
- 1:23this? And I was like, I don't know,
- 1:25because at the same time, because you know how when you
- 1:27upgrade a phone, right, you have anyone who's on your plan, you,
- 1:31they push you to upgrade, they give you better deals.
- 1:34So of course that was my son and my daughter.
- 1:36My husband had just had to upgrade his phone like a month
- 1:39ago because he dropped it and smashed it.
- 1:42So this one had these had to get upgraded like all at the same
- 1:46time to get a great deal. So here I was.
- 1:48I had to do it anyway because mine was absolutely the cause of
- 1:52all the problems. And here he was getting this new
- 1:55iPhone, super excited that I was going to get to have this liquid
- 1:58glass, like such a big deal. And I was a nervous wreck
- 2:03standing at the counter trying to put it all together.
- 2:06And my son was so funny about it because he's like, what is going
- 2:09on? You don't get uptight about
- 2:12techie things, What is going on? And I said, you know, I don't
- 2:15know. And like, I couldn't understand
- 2:17what was going on. Right down to putting the glass
- 2:20screen on to make sure it was OK.
- 2:23Every little thing, it's asking me all these questions about
- 2:26transfers this and that and do I want to turn this on?
- 2:30And then having to log back in. And I was just, I, I felt
- 2:35elevated. Like if you had to say where my
- 2:37anxiety was on a scale of zero to 10, I was probably at an 8.
- 2:44And I don't get like that anymore.
- 2:46Like I really, unless it's like life or death, literally
- 2:50something to do with us, the chickens, the animals, something
- 2:53I don't get like that. And to feel my anxiety that
- 2:57high, I, I had to do this exploration.
- 3:00I was sitting there and I was like, what is happening?
- 3:02So when it was all finished, I sat and I just was going through
- 3:06the phone like letting opening each app to make sure that I
- 3:10could log in and it was all set and whatnot.
- 3:13And I and I sat there and I said what happened?
- 3:16Why? Why did this take place this
- 3:18way? What was it that was going on?
- 3:20Because I couldn't identify it. Now, the point of this is this
- 3:24happens to all of us. So we have these moments that we
- 3:27cannot identify. We're just like what is
- 3:29happening? I have no idea what's happening.
- 3:31I don't understand and what's happening, what is happening and
- 3:35we have to go back and look. If we're curious, like if we
- 3:38really want to know, we have to go back and look.
- 3:41So it took me a couple hours and all of a sudden as I was
- 3:45brushing my teeth, it hit me. I felt so anxious because this
- 3:50phone is such an extension of everything that I do to make my
- 3:55life work the way that it does. Being able to be out here in a
- 3:59rural area, to be able to have a farm, to be able to do what I
- 4:03do. I rely on some big heavy tech
- 4:06like, OK, I have Starlink. It's the only way we can get
- 4:09Internet where we are. And literally we cannot get
- 4:13Internet through any other way. We did Verizon Hotspots.
- 4:18Can you imagine running a house off Verizon Hotspots for a very,
- 4:21very long time until we were able to get Starlink here and
- 4:25when it opened up in this area, it changed everything because
- 4:28now we don't have to panic about how much how much gig did you
- 4:31use for that? You can't watch that movie.
- 4:33Don't waste it. Shut it off.
- 4:35You know, couldn't upload videos every single time I had to go to
- 4:39sit in a grocery store in a cafe to try to get Internet so I
- 4:43could upload and do the things I wanted to do.
- 4:46And, and this iPhone has, has become such a tool for my
- 4:52business, not only to connect with my clients, but to
- 4:56FaceTime, to be able to hold zooms, to be able to record
- 5:01videos for whatever I'm working on.
- 5:03If I don't have my other camera with me, the photography with
- 5:07these iPhones is off the chart. And as you all know, I shoot
- 5:11pictures nearly every single day.
- 5:13I mean, I say nearly because I don't want to exaggerate, but
- 5:17I'm telling you it is pretty much every day.
- 5:20And around the farm I have, I think we're up to, I think my
- 5:25son told me when he was putting everything together with me,
- 5:28he's like, you have over 150,000 photos in iPhoto and, and I'm,
- 5:33I'm sure I do in the cloud. I mean, it's just insane the
- 5:37number of photos that are here, the podcast, everything gets
- 5:40done here. So to feel like checking emails,
- 5:42you do it. Everything's on the fly.
- 5:45So without this tool, I would be subjected to sitting at the desk
- 5:50and I would have to stay stationary.
- 5:53And for me, that is the worst thought that could possibly ever
- 5:58happen. I don't want to do that.
- 6:00So I got nervous about sitting there and doing it.
- 6:03How crazy is that? But it's a little tiny trigger.
- 6:07And I want you to think about this as you're going into the
- 6:10last few days of the year and getting ready to start the new
- 6:12year because so many other triggers come up for us.
- 6:15Like today I was like, okay, I. Got to make sure I get this done
- 6:18and I got to make sure I get this done.
- 6:19And I am amped up about stuff I want to get done before January
- 6:241st. And it's that looming deadline
- 6:27again. So don't let the deadline take
- 6:29you out. I'm slowing myself down.
- 6:31I'm chunking it all out. I'm putting things past the
- 6:34first because I don't even go back to coaching until the 5th.
- 6:38But I have to do it because otherwise I'm going to feel
- 6:42overwhelmed. So watch it.
- 6:43Watch the anxiety, watch the overwhelm, and don't let it take
- 6:46over. All right, my friends, I hope
- 6:48you have a blessed day and I will see you tomorrow.
- 6:51Bye.
