Latest / Mental Per4mance Daily with Adam Rutz / Strengthen Strengths, Attack Weaknesses

- Adam Rutz: One of the simplest formulas for success that I believe every competitor should live by is this make your strengths even stronger and turn your weaknesses into strengths. And I know it sounds simple, but it requires something that a lot of people struggle with. And that's honest self-assessment. Think about a basketball player who's already a really great shooter. Does that basketball player stop working on their shot because it's one of their strengths? No. They're going to continue to develop it. But if that same player struggles defensively, they can't just ignore that weakness because they're a great shooter. They've got to get better defensively. They gotta do both. And to do that, they're probably gonna have to work on their footwork, study film, get feedback, and put in all the reps that are necessary in order to improve. And that same thing applies to every area of our lives. Maybe you're great at sales, but you struggle with leadership. Maybe you're incredibly successful professionally. But your health and your personal relationships need way more attention. Whatever it is, you gotta have the self-awareness to recognize where you're excelling and where you're falling short. Yesterday we talked about being willing to look bad before you can get better. Well, today I want you to take that a step further. It's October 28th, so we're roughly two months from 2027. Let's say you want to make 2027 a monster year. Why would you wait until January 1st to start becoming the person you want to be next year? The best competitors don't wait for a new year to make adjustments. They identify what needs improvement, they develop a plan, and then they start executing. So here's my challenge for you today. Take five minutes and write down in your success journal three areas of your life where you're performing really well and identify how you can make those strengths even stronger. Then below that, I want you to identify three areas of your life where you need to improve and write down one specific action you can take to start addressing each weakness. And most importantly, don't just write them down. Start taking action today, not tomorrow, today. Because the greatest competitors aren't the ones without weakness. They're the ones who are willing to acknowledge them, attack them, and continuously raise their own individual standards. Don't wait until 2027 to become better. Start building that version of yourself today. Mindset, process, discipline, execution. That's Mental Performance Daily.
