Latest / Stugotz and Company / Set 2: We Can Obs and a Big Kentucky Win (w/ Will Stein)
Transcript
- 0:21Speaker 1: We'll get to the weekend observations here in just a minute.
- 0:24Speaker 1: Will Stein, the Kentucky head football coach, going to join
- 0:27Speaker 1: us later in this episode.
- 0:30Speaker 2: Taylor, baseball is still going on.
- 0:33Speaker 1: You would never know it, but it's still going on
- 0:35Speaker 1: because football has taken over. College football has taken over.
- 0:38Speaker 1: What is going on with Aaron Judge? What's happening with
- 0:41Speaker 1: your New York Yankees? I haven't checked in lately.
- 0:44Speaker 3: Yeah, you're saying baseball is still going on. For me,
- 0:46Speaker 3: this might be the final nail in the coffin.
- 0:48Speaker 2: Really?
- 0:48Speaker 3: Aaron Judge is likely out for the AL Wild Card
- 0:52Speaker 3: Series versus Boston, according to Brian Hawk. This is from
- 0:56Speaker 3: Aaron Boone. We're planning on him not being a part
- 0:58Speaker 3: of that. Judge had a PPP injection in his right
- 1:02Speaker 3: calf during their off day. He has a moderate grade
- 1:04Speaker 3: calf strength. And Stu, if you're wondering what that music is,
- 1:08Speaker 3: it's the music, the violins, because the Titanic is going down,
- 1:12Speaker 3: the band is going to play us on our way out.
- 1:14Speaker 1: Right. You're saying you're incapable of winning a playoff series
- 1:17Speaker 1: without Aaron Judge?
- 1:18Speaker 2: That's ridiculous. It's baseball.
- 1:19Speaker 4: It is over.
- 1:22Speaker 2: Mikey, you feel the same way? It's over? You're a
- 1:24Speaker 2: Yankee fan.
- 1:26Speaker 5: It's a dominated lefty pitching for the Red Sox, and
- 1:30Speaker 5: who better not to have than your dominant right-handed bat.
- 1:33Speaker 4: In the lineup? Right. What do you got, Taylor?
- 1:36Speaker 3: Do you hear that, Mikey? It's the fat lady. She's singing.
- 1:39Speaker 2: She's singing. Is that her? Wait, are they locked in?
- 1:43Speaker 1: I haven't been paying attention to baseball. They're locked in
- 1:46Speaker 1: to play the Red Sox in the opening round of
- 1:47Speaker 1: the playoffs. That's locked in already.
- 1:50Speaker 3: There's very little wiggle room still where the Yankees have
- 1:55Speaker 3: a sizable lead on that first wild card spot. They're
- 1:59Speaker 3: six games back against Tampa Bay, so Tampa Bay hasn't
- 2:02Speaker 3: officially clinched the AL East yet. Tampa Bay will probably
- 2:05Speaker 3: put us out of our misery pretty soon with this
- 2:07Speaker 3: series coming up.
- 2:08Speaker 2: All right.
- 2:08Speaker 1: I like the spot you're in, though, without Aaron Judge.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Low expectations. You exceed him.
- 2:12Speaker 2: I mean, why not? It's baseball.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Anything can happen, Taylor. Have some faith in your baseball
- 2:16Speaker 1: team for crying out loud.
- 2:18Speaker 3: If my two choices are going to the Red Sox
- 2:20Speaker 3: series with one of the best hitters in baseball history
- 2:22Speaker 3: or not going to the series with one of the
- 2:25Speaker 3: best hitters, I'm probably going to always choose the one
- 2:27Speaker 3: where Aaron Judge is in the lineup.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Well, that's obvious that you would choose that, but it
- 2:30Speaker 1: does shift expectations just a bit.
- 2:34Speaker 2: No one's going to expect the Yankees to win, and
- 2:36Speaker 2: that's when you can win.
- 2:37Speaker 3: Who knows?
- 2:37Speaker 4: It doesn't matter. Part of the thing is it's the
- 2:40Speaker 4: Red Sox.
- 2:40Speaker 5: Like, you don't want to lose to the Red Sox,
- 2:42Speaker 5: and the fact that we have a built-in excuse does
- 2:44Speaker 5: not bring us any comfort when it's the Red Sox.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Right, but imagine beating the Red Sox without your best player.
- 2:50Speaker 1: How about that, huh?
- 2:53Speaker 4: Hmm.
- 2:53Speaker 1: You can't even imagine it. You guys can't even imagine it.
- 2:56Speaker 1: I saw Taylor try. He closed his eyes.
- 2:58Speaker 4: I can't either.
- 3:00Speaker 1: All right, I'm done. Let's get to the weekend observations.
- 3:05Speaker 2: That's it for baseball. Mikey! It wasn't too long ago
- 3:20Speaker 2: that we compared him to.
- 3:23Speaker 4: Tom Brady.
- 3:25Speaker 1: He's a three-time Super Bowl champion and a three-time Super
- 3:29Speaker 1: Bowl MVP. But with an aging supporting cast combined with
- 3:36Speaker 1: an ACL injury, his team didn't make the playoffs a
- 3:40Speaker 1: year ago. And it seems like we all forgot about him.
- 3:46Speaker 1: Last week, he returned to action for the first time
- 3:51Speaker 1: since the ACL.
- 3:53Speaker 2: Good. Not great. But in week two, everything changed.
- 3:59Speaker 1: 32 of 47.
- 4:00Speaker 4: 382 yards.
- 4:00Speaker 2: Three touchdowns. No interceptions.
- 4:03Speaker 4: And a win.
- 4:11Speaker 1: And just like that, make no mistake about it, Patrick
- 4:16Speaker 1: Mahomes is back.
- 4:20Speaker 2: He's back.
- 4:20Speaker 4: That's so scary.
- 4:21Speaker 2: I know.
- 4:21Speaker 4: That's so scary.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Right, but you know what I'm saying. Like, I know
- 4:24Speaker 1: he was back in week one, but that wasn't Patrick Mahomes.
- 4:27Speaker 1: This past weekend, that was Patrick Mahomes.
- 4:31Speaker 4: Oh, he's back.
- 4:35Speaker 1: There is no better compliment for a linebacker than saying
- 4:39Speaker 1: he has a thick neck.
- 4:44Speaker 3: Wow.
- 4:45Speaker 2: Taylor, put it on the poll.
- 4:48Speaker 3: I think it was Robert Spillane from the Patriots that
- 4:50Speaker 3: they were talking about.
- 4:51Speaker 6: All right.
- 4:54Speaker 1: The Steelers could play the greatest show on turf and
- 4:59Speaker 1: it still be a 16-13 rock fight.
- 5:03Speaker 2: It's true.
- 5:05Speaker 4: Yep.
- 5:06Speaker 2: They drag you into the mud. I mean, they really do.
- 5:09Speaker 4: It's where they like to play.
- 5:11Speaker 2: Yeah, the mud.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Put it on the pole to the Steelers like playing
- 5:16Speaker 1: in mud and dragging you into it. JJ Watt calling
- 5:23Speaker 1: TJ Watts' game a weekly tradition unlike any other.
- 5:29Speaker 2: Also, a couple of Watts cutting it up.
- 5:33Speaker 4: What's up with that?
- 5:34Speaker 2: I don't know. What do you mean? Why not have
- 5:37Speaker 2: Watt call Watts' game?
- 5:39Speaker 4: What's up with that?
- 5:40Speaker 2: Oh, I get it now.
- 5:47Speaker 1: What's up? I gave you a real response. You had
- 5:51Speaker 1: a funny joke. I gave you a real answer.
- 5:53Speaker 4: I didn't have a funny joke. I had a joke.
- 5:55Speaker 4: It was okay.
- 5:57Speaker 2: You got the sound, man. Drake May is the Tom
- 6:02Speaker 2: Brady of Mac Jones's.
- 6:06Speaker 3: That's a little unfair to drink, man.
- 6:08Speaker 2: It's your observation.
- 6:10Speaker 4: It's yours. That's a bit much. That's a bit much.
- 6:13Speaker 2: I tried to take it out. You put it back in.
- 6:15Speaker 1: I don't know how to pronounce this guy's name.
- 6:21Speaker 2: Eli Raridon. I get it right?
- 6:26Speaker 1: Proving all white tight ends look the same. Raridon, more
- 6:32Speaker 1: like Commodon.
- 6:36Speaker 4: Common Don.
- 6:37Speaker 2: I said it wrong?
- 6:38Speaker 4: A little bit. Let's try it again. I get what
- 6:41Speaker 4: you were trying to go for there.
- 6:42Speaker 2: Well, I wasn't confident doing it. Eli Raridon. Proving all
- 6:47Speaker 2: white tight ends look the same.
- 6:50Speaker 4: Raridon.
- 6:51Speaker 2: More like Common Don.
- 6:55Speaker 7: There you go.
- 6:56Speaker 4: Thank you. I also think it's Raridon.
- 7:00Speaker 2: I asked you.
- 7:02Speaker 4: And I said it.
- 7:04Speaker 2: At no point.
- 7:05Speaker 1: And I mean no point did I think the Jets
- 7:08Speaker 1: were winning that game.
- 7:10Speaker 4: I hate them.
- 7:11Speaker 1: Abby turned to me up 17-7 and said to me,
- 7:15Speaker 1: what's wrong? And I said, they're going to lose. And
- 7:18Speaker 1: she said, they're up 10. And I said, they've already lost.
- 7:22Speaker 1: She was confused.
- 7:23Speaker 5: That game was never in doubt.
- 7:28Speaker 2: It could have been 24-7. Never in doubt.
- 7:30Speaker 1: Nobody. has ever deserved to lose a game more than
- 7:38Speaker 1: Aaron Glenn with that clock management.
- 7:41Speaker 2: He's terrible.
- 7:44Speaker 1: I mean, you get the Jets in situational football, and
- 7:46Speaker 1: you've got them right where you want them.
- 7:48Speaker 2: I mean, it is unbelievable.
- 7:52Speaker 1: Hey, Red Zone, I don't need you to be ahead
- 7:55Speaker 1: of the main game feed I'm watching.
- 7:57Speaker 2: Figure it out.
- 7:59Speaker 4: Good call. Good call.
- 8:01Speaker 1: They're not synced up correctly. I understand that, and I
- 8:04Speaker 1: don't understand why. But how do you want the red
- 8:06Speaker 1: zone to figure it out? There's a reason they're not, right?
- 8:10Speaker 4: It's 2026.
- 8:11Speaker 3: There's no reason why I should be watching multi-view and
- 8:14Speaker 3: I'm watching the Jets main feed. And then with sound,
- 8:18Speaker 3: I'm watching the Jets' main feed. And then all of
- 8:20Speaker 3: a sudden, in the bottom right hand, I see a
- 8:22Speaker 3: drop punt in the Jets-Packers game where I'm like, whoa, whoa,
- 8:26Speaker 3: red zone. You got to slow down there. Maybe just
- 8:28Speaker 3: have every game on red zone.
- 8:29Speaker 7: Right.
- 8:29Speaker 3: Because I'm like a little bit of a delay to
- 8:31Speaker 3: kind of adjust for it.
- 8:32Speaker 2: All right.
- 8:33Speaker 1: So I go red zone only. If I'm watching the
- 8:36Speaker 1: red zone, I won't watch another game.
- 8:37Speaker 2: It will just be red. I don't do the multi-view.
- 8:40Speaker 2: It's dizzying.
- 8:40Speaker 4: It's confusing.
- 8:41Speaker 2: I just go red zone or I go Jets game.
- 8:43Speaker 2: That's what I do. No?
- 8:45Speaker 4: No.
- 8:46Speaker 5: I have five games and red zone on. I essentially
- 8:50Speaker 5: tape my eyelids open, put drops in them, and I
- 8:53Speaker 5: just let football information flood into my brain.
- 8:56Speaker 4: Right.
- 8:57Speaker 1: And I guess with the Jet game, it doesn't matter
- 8:59Speaker 1: if it's ahead or delayed because you know what's going.
- 9:01Speaker 2: To happen anyway.
- 9:02Speaker 4: Right, Mikey? Of course. Yes. 17-7.
- 9:08Speaker 1: If football started in the fourth quarter, Tyler Shuck would
- 9:12Speaker 1: be the greatest of all time.
- 9:16Speaker 2: He's really good.
- 9:18Speaker 5: He treats the fourth quarter like Blake Bortles used to
- 9:21Speaker 5: treat garbage time, except he's winning, or at least coming
- 9:24Speaker 5: close to winning.
- 9:26Speaker 2: I texted Tyler Shuck yesterday. He responded.
- 9:31Speaker 4: Did you text him, hey, big dog? Because if you
- 9:34Speaker 4: didn't say big dog, then he's not coming on. You
- 9:36Speaker 4: know what?
- 9:36Speaker 2: I didn't. I forgot to do it. That's your fault.
- 9:39Speaker 2: I started it with Shuck! And an exclamation point.
- 9:44Speaker 4: Is he coming on this week?
- 9:45Speaker 1: He said, appreciate you, Stugatz. I remember the mother shuckers.
- 9:50Speaker 1: Super Bowl, Radio Row, perhaps next week. Give me a buzz.
- 9:55Speaker 2: How about that? I got it right here.
- 9:57Speaker 4: You would have said big dog. He'd be on this week.
- 9:58Speaker 2: You're right. I'm sorry. I'll send you his number.
- 10:02Speaker 7: You drop.
- 10:03Speaker 1: Start with the Big Dog. In the fourth quarter, and
- 10:08Speaker 1: only the fourth quarter, you know what the T in
- 10:11Speaker 1: Tyler Shuck stands for?
- 10:15Speaker 4: Tom Brady. Yes.
- 10:17Speaker 2: Wow. What a great guess. You know what the S
- 10:22Speaker 2: in Tyler Shuck stands for?
- 10:23Speaker 4: I'm trying to think of a quarterback. Go ahead.
- 10:29Speaker 2: Steve Young.
- 10:31Speaker 4: I was just trying to think.
- 10:33Speaker 1: I couldn't get to Steve Young. Baltimore Ravens got shucked.
- 10:38Speaker 1: Ben Johnson should have saved some of those points from
- 10:41Speaker 1: last week for this week.
- 10:44Speaker 2: Ben Johnson, do it in the elements. Caleb Williams. Madden curse.
- 10:52Speaker 2: Forgot about that. Madden curse. Jeez.
- 10:56Speaker 4: So cold.
- 10:57Speaker 2: Yes.
- 10:57Speaker 4: So cold here on the cart.
- 10:59Speaker 2: Right. The C in Caleb stands for cold. And curse.
- 11:06Speaker 1: Every few years, we're reminded that Tyson Bajent is still
- 11:11Speaker 1: on the Bears.
- 11:12Speaker 2: Special Bajent.
- 11:15Speaker 3: Remember that run he had where you were like, man,
- 11:17Speaker 3: is this guy something? And then, like, Three games in,
- 11:19Speaker 3: you're like, oh, no.
- 11:20Speaker 2: Yeah, he's nothing. I do remember that run.
- 11:24Speaker 4: He was there before the floaty was a thing. Otherwise,
- 11:27Speaker 4: he might have had.
- 11:29Speaker 3: One.
- 11:29Speaker 2: Jameis Winston not winning the floaty.
- 11:31Speaker 4: I mean.
- 11:32Speaker 2: Not yet. It's Drew Locke's award to lose, right? Right
- 11:35Speaker 2: now it is.
- 11:36Speaker 4: Correct?
- 11:36Speaker 2: Yes.
- 11:37Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 11:38Speaker 2: Right. It's been great.
- 11:40Speaker 1: The only thing doubtful about Sam Levitt was his ability
- 11:44Speaker 1: to complete a pass. Lane Kiffin, taking credit for the
- 11:53Speaker 1: atmosphere at Ole Miss. Lane, the Stugatz is strong in you.
- 11:59Speaker 2: It's well done. It was a win-win, classic win-win.
- 12:05Speaker 1: Lane Kiffin, before you took the LSU job, you should
- 12:09Speaker 1: have made sure Trinidad Chambliss would go with you.
- 12:13Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 12:14Speaker 1: Wow.
- 12:15Speaker 4: That would have been an ideal. Yes.
- 12:19Speaker 1: Lane Kiffin, 13-26 against top 25 teams. Lane Kiffin is
- 12:25Speaker 1: just SEC James Franklin.
- 12:30Speaker 7: Wow.
- 12:33Speaker 3: Stu, don't look now. James Franklin and Virginia Tech, they're
- 12:37Speaker 3: kind of good.
- 12:38Speaker 2: Well, we always do that with James Franklin, and I'm
- 12:40Speaker 2: not going to look now.
- 12:41Speaker 4: Isn't this the James Franklin cycle?
- 12:42Speaker 2: Yes.
- 12:44Speaker 3: No, but what I think happened with James Franklin when
- 12:46Speaker 3: we took him out of Penn State, we took him
- 12:48Speaker 3: out of the deep end and we moved him to
- 12:50Speaker 3: the ACC, which is like the equivalent of like a
- 12:52Speaker 3: kiddie pool.
- 12:52Speaker 2: Yeah, it is a kiddie pool, right?
- 12:53Speaker 4: Yes.
- 12:55Speaker 1: And anyone can survive in the kiddie pool.
- 12:57Speaker 2: I mean, I think. I don't know what I'm doing there.
- 13:01Speaker 2: I'm not going to watch him.
- 13:03Speaker 1: Not today, not tomorrow, only if they make the playoffs
- 13:06Speaker 1: and I'm forced to watch him.
- 13:09Speaker 2: But he's not making the playoffs. You have him making
- 13:10Speaker 2: the playoffs?
- 13:12Speaker 3: Not this year.
- 13:13Speaker 4: Eventually.
- 13:14Speaker 2: Okay. Because he's in the kiddie pool. Yeah.
- 13:18Speaker 3: And he knows how to swim well enough. He knows
- 13:21Speaker 3: how to tread water.
- 13:23Speaker 2: That's all he does.
- 13:27Speaker 1: Jamar Chase, catch of the year. Mikey, you know what
- 13:31Speaker 1: the C in Chase stands for?
- 13:36Speaker 4: Catch of the year.
- 13:36Speaker 2: It was right there for you. Good.
- 13:38Speaker 4: Yes. Yeah. I thought you were trying to sneak one
- 13:41Speaker 4: around on me.
- 13:42Speaker 2: Yep. No, I wasn't. Just straightforward. Hey, TV broadcast.
- 13:46Speaker 1: When somebody dislocates their elbow, I promise you, we don't
- 13:51Speaker 1: need to see it ten times.
- 13:55Speaker 4: Enough. Why? Why?
- 14:01Speaker 2: You show it once. I get it. I see it.
- 14:03Speaker 1: I see how gruesome the injury is. I do not
- 14:06Speaker 1: need to see it nine more times.
- 14:07Speaker 4: Don't. In case you missed it. Got to show it again.
- 14:13Speaker 4: And again.
- 14:15Speaker 1: Cam Ward leads the league in extending plays just to
- 14:20Speaker 1: still throw it out of bounds.
- 14:26Speaker 4: But he's so good at it.
- 14:27Speaker 5: He is so good at extending those plays and then
- 14:30Speaker 5: getting rid of it.
- 14:32Speaker 1: If the point of football was to scramble away, create
- 14:35Speaker 1: some time, and throw it out of bounds, then he
- 14:36Speaker 1: should have been the number one pick in the draft.
- 14:38Speaker 2: He's great at it. No one better.
- 14:42Speaker 1: The Titans uniforms are too good for them to be
- 14:46Speaker 1: this bad. That was Philadelphia's first road win against the
- 14:53Speaker 1: Titans since 1991. The House of Pain game. You know
- 14:57Speaker 1: what that means, Mikey?
- 15:00Speaker 4: Oh, they were due.
- 15:00Speaker 2: Yeah. You're on your game today, man. Jeez.
- 15:03Speaker 4: I miss Steve Young. I'm still upset with myself.
- 15:07Speaker 2: Where else would you have gone there?
- 15:08Speaker 4: I mean, it's Steve McNair.
- 15:09Speaker 5: I'm trying to think of how it could have been
- 15:11Speaker 5: Marino or something.
- 15:13Speaker 2: But it had to be an S. It had to
- 15:14Speaker 2: be an S.
- 15:15Speaker 4: Super Bowl. Yeah.
- 15:16Speaker 2: True.
- 15:17Speaker 4: Got caught in my thoughts. All right.
- 15:19Speaker 2: Carolina Panthers. Frisky.
- 15:22Speaker 4: Yep.
- 15:26Speaker 1: Panthers giving up 59 points last week and three points
- 15:30Speaker 1: this week. Tale of two weeks. Same with the Bears,
- 15:33Speaker 1: I guess, right? Scoring 59 and scoring three.
- 15:38Speaker 2: Tale of two weeks.
- 15:39Speaker 4: Wow.
- 15:40Speaker 2: Couple of tales cutting it up. Cooper Rush with a
- 15:45Speaker 2: rare ability to make B.
- 15:49Speaker 1: John Robinson boring. Taylor, you know you wrote Drake London
- 15:54Speaker 1: here as well as B.
- 15:55Speaker 2: John Robinson. I only chose one.
- 15:57Speaker 4: I went with B.
- 15:57Speaker 2: John because the B in B. John stands for boring.
- 16:01Speaker 3: Stu, once I saw that typo there, I was like,
- 16:03Speaker 3: he is going to read it no matter how I
- 16:05Speaker 3: typed it.
- 16:05Speaker 1: I should have went with a rare ability to make
- 16:07Speaker 1: Drake B. John Robinson boring.
- 16:10Speaker 3: Mikey, I saw that typo coming a mile away. B.
- 16:14Speaker 1: John Robinson with Cooper Rush is like putting a race
- 16:18Speaker 1: car in a school zone. The Falcons will fix any defense.
- 16:27Speaker 1: You know what the F in Falcon stands for, Mikey?
- 16:30Speaker 4: Fixing defenses?
- 16:31Speaker 2: Yeah, fixing any defense. You're getting an A today, man.
- 16:38Speaker 1: Jack Strand's first NFL pass being a pick six. Only
- 16:43Speaker 1: up from here.
- 16:44Speaker 3: The saddest sign I saw. This weekend was in that
- 16:49Speaker 3: Atlanta Falcons game. A fan, a Falcons fan brought a
- 16:54Speaker 3: sign that said, it's strand time. Re-evaluate your life at
- 16:59Speaker 3: that point.
- 17:00Speaker 2: Please do, yes. You know what the S in strand
- 17:02Speaker 2: stands for?
- 17:02Speaker 4: Sad.
- 17:05Speaker 5: I love the idea of him like 50 years from
- 17:08Speaker 5: now telling his grandkids, yeah, my first play, I threw
- 17:11Speaker 5: a touchdown for the Carolina Panthers.
- 17:13Speaker 4: I didn't know you played for the Panthers. I didn't. Nope.
- 17:16Speaker 1: They didn't need my help either. Taylor, put it on
- 17:20Speaker 1: the poll. If you're a fan holding a strand time sign,
- 17:27Speaker 1: do you need to re-evaluate your life?
- 17:31Speaker 2: It's strand time.
- 17:33Speaker 3: I think it was we want strand. I think that's
- 17:35Speaker 3: what the sign said.
- 17:36Speaker 1: Whatever the sign is, just put it on the poll.
- 17:39Speaker 1: Does that fan need to re-evaluate their lives? First matchup.
- 17:45Speaker 1: Of coaches named Todd in NFL history. What are the
- 17:49Speaker 1: Todds of that happening? It was Todd Bowles and Todd Munkin.
- 17:55Speaker 1: A couple of Todds cutting it up.
- 17:57Speaker 2: I skipped it. What are the Todds?
- 18:04Speaker 4: Well, what's funny, I think they're both named Todd Robert.
- 18:08Speaker 2: Get out of here.
- 18:09Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 18:10Speaker 2: What are the Todds?
- 18:17Speaker 1: If the Buccaneers and Browns game never resumed, would anybody
- 18:21Speaker 1: actually notice?
- 18:24Speaker 4: My survivor pool pick.
- 18:26Speaker 2: What time did that game end?
- 18:30Speaker 3: It ended with, like, the 7 p.m. window starting, I think.
- 18:35Speaker 2: It was after the witching hour.
- 18:36Speaker 4: Well, yes.
- 18:37Speaker 1: No, it was a 1 o'clock game. It was in
- 18:38Speaker 1: the second half of the 4 o'clock games, I think,
- 18:40Speaker 1: is when it ended.
- 18:41Speaker 3: Yeah, it ended about 7 p.m., I think.
- 18:43Speaker 4: It's crazy.
- 18:45Speaker 2: Happens down here, though.
- 18:46Speaker 4: Lightning.
- 18:46Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 18:49Speaker 4: Stupid.
- 18:51Speaker 1: Ruben Bain with zero pressures through two weeks. Maybe the
- 18:56Speaker 1: draft analysts were right about his arms.
- 19:00Speaker 2: It's a game of inches. It's been close.
- 19:03Speaker 3: And he's lacking inches.
- 19:08Speaker 2: You're the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Mike Tomlin calls today. What
- 19:13Speaker 2: do you do?
- 19:16Speaker 4: Hello, Mike. When? Yes. Today? Tomorrow?
- 19:18Speaker 6: What?
- 19:20Speaker 4: You need a ride?
- 19:21Speaker 2: What are the Todd's of that happening, though?
- 19:26Speaker 4: Going to that well a little bit. Going to that
- 19:29Speaker 4: well a little too often here.
- 19:30Speaker 1: I mean, I'm just saying Tomlin's not going to– what's
- 19:32Speaker 1: the T in Tomlin stand for?
- 19:33Speaker 4: Todd's.
- 19:34Speaker 2: I'm just saying Tomlin's not going to call the Tampa
- 19:36Speaker 2: Bay Buccaneers. That's not a team he wants to coach,
- 19:38Speaker 2: I don't think.
- 19:39Speaker 4: But you have him calling the New York Jets?
- 19:41Speaker 7: Move on.
- 19:42Speaker 2: You have him calling the Jets.
- 19:44Speaker 4: You have him. I don't think he's. All right.
- 19:48Speaker 2: Who's he calling? then oh i know he's calling texans.
- 19:53Speaker 4: We'll say well no no they can't get.
- 19:55Speaker 2: Rid of him well they can for him yes.
- 19:59Speaker 4: They can north carolina maybe they can.
- 20:01Speaker 1: Get rid of him for him no north carolina taylor
- 20:03Speaker 1: wishes north carolina would you want tomlin to be your
- 20:07Speaker 1: head coach or you're done with nfl.
- 20:08Speaker 3: Coaches I'd take anybody else.
- 20:12Speaker 4: Really? Tomlin calls Duke.
- 20:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:14Speaker 1: Congratulations to the Bengals for finally giving Joe Burrow a defense.
- 20:20Speaker 4: That's upsetting.
- 20:21Speaker 2: Yep.
- 20:21Speaker 1: NASCAR needs more fistfights. And even then, I'm not sure
- 20:26Speaker 1: I'd watch. Close your eyes and just imagine how good
- 20:31Speaker 1: Camario Taylor will look in a Miami Hurricanes jersey next year.
- 20:37Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 20:38Speaker 1: I'm not saying this about Texas A & M. Mike
- 20:40Speaker 1: Elko is my friend. They're not frauds.
- 20:42Speaker 2: I'm not saying it. You said it.
- 20:45Speaker 4: Oh, that's not nice.
- 20:46Speaker 2: I know.
- 20:47Speaker 4: We love Elko. We love Elko.
- 20:48Speaker 1: Yep, not saying it. That's Taylor's observation. Texas A &
- 20:51Speaker 1: M frauds. I said I wouldn't say it. Taylor said it.
- 20:55Speaker 4: I'm not sure we're going to like Will Stein. Let's
- 20:57Speaker 4: see how he goes first.
- 20:58Speaker 2: North Carolina. Clemson.
- 21:01Speaker 1: Someone had to win. North Carolina just wanted it less.
- 21:07Speaker 1: Dabo Swinney. celebrated that win like he beat one of
- 21:12Speaker 1: Belichick's Patriot teams. Hey, Dabo, you beat Billy Edwards Jr.,
- 21:19Speaker 1: not Brady. Act like you've been there before. You were
- 21:22Speaker 1: the one that was saying if you squint when you
- 21:26Speaker 1: look at Billy Edwards Jr.
- 21:28Speaker 2: what you'll see is Tom Brady. That was two weeks
- 21:30Speaker 2: ago you said that, Taylor.
- 21:32Speaker 3: Yeah, I've had my eyes checked and I don't.
- 21:34Speaker 4: See it anymore.
- 21:36Speaker 1: I have to be honest. When I said I don't
- 21:39Speaker 1: know if I'd watch NASCAR with fights.
- 21:42Speaker 2: I do know. With certainty, I wouldn't. NC State did
- 21:50Speaker 2: what NC State does. The Wolfpack.
- 21:56Speaker 1: If you had NC State plus three and a half,
- 22:00Speaker 1: I wouldn't blame you. If you never bet again. It
- 22:06Speaker 1: was that bad?
- 22:08Speaker 4: Oh, wow.
- 22:09Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 22:10Speaker 3: We've never seen a team lose like that before.
- 22:12Speaker 2: Really? Geez. Never. Both of you had the same reaction.
- 22:17Speaker 2: That bad, huh?
- 22:20Speaker 5: It was an ending that I immediately sent to everyone
- 22:22Speaker 5: I knew when it hit social media.
- 22:24Speaker 4: I was like, have you seen this?
- 22:28Speaker 1: NC State just needed to take a safety. Dan Orlovsky
- 22:33Speaker 1: wins that game. The rare game Dan Orlovsky would have won. Mikey,
- 22:46Speaker 1: you know what the O in Orlovsky stands for?
- 22:49Speaker 4: Out of the back of the end zone? Yes!
- 22:57Speaker 3: Stu, I have a stat that highlights how bad NC
- 22:59Speaker 3: State's loss was.
- 23:00Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 23:01Speaker 3: Teams with the ball and the lead in the final
- 23:04Speaker 3: 10 seconds of a game.
- 23:05Speaker 4: Right.
- 23:06Speaker 3: The last 20 seasons entering today.
- 23:08Speaker 1: Now I realize the reaction.
- 23:14Speaker 3: 1,046 and one. The only other loss was the Michigan-Michigan
- 23:19Speaker 3: State drop punt.
- 23:22Speaker 2: That's a bad beat, man.
- 23:27Speaker 7: Oh, God.
- 23:28Speaker 2: A tip of the cap to one Howie Rose.
- 23:32Speaker 4: Is he done?
- 23:32Speaker 2: What happened? What's going on with Howie? Done? Yeah?
- 23:37Speaker 4: Retired.
- 23:38Speaker 2: All right. You know what the R in Rose stands for?
- 23:40Speaker 6: Retired.
- 23:42Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 23:43Speaker 1: The Raiders have two quarterbacks that are better than Justin Herbert.
- 23:53Speaker 2: The Seahawks might, too. I like Drew a lot. I
- 24:01Speaker 2: wouldn't blame Madison Beer if she called off the engagement.
- 24:08Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 24:09Speaker 2: I mean, she went into it thinking that she was
- 24:10Speaker 2: going to marry a good quarterback.
- 24:13Speaker 3: Yeah. According to some people, he's still a good quarterback.
- 24:17Speaker 2: Well, who?
- 24:20Speaker 3: A lot of people still make an excuse.
- 24:21Speaker 2: Are they really?
- 24:22Speaker 4: Jesus Christ.
- 24:24Speaker 5: Your favorite quarterback analyst's favorite quarterback is Justin Herbert.
- 24:30Speaker 2: Chris Sims?
- 24:33Speaker 4: Yes. Whoever. You like Dan Orlovsky, his favorite quarterback?
- 24:36Speaker 1: Well, no, I don't know if Chris Sims. I got
- 24:39Speaker 1: to be honest. We haven't spoken to Chris Sims. We
- 24:40Speaker 1: will later this week.
- 24:41Speaker 4: I was going to say, it'd be nice to ask him.
- 24:43Speaker 2: I think Sims is starting to question it. I do.
- 24:44Speaker 4: I mean.
- 24:45Speaker 3: So this quote was from Dan Orlovsky yesterday on the
- 24:48Speaker 3: Pat McAfee show.
- 24:49Speaker 4: Jesus.
- 24:50Speaker 3: It's a comedy of errors by everyone but Justin Herbert
- 24:53Speaker 3: right now.
- 24:54Speaker 2: Enough. Enough.
- 24:55Speaker 3: Enough.
- 24:56Speaker 2: Out of the back of the end zone. Where do
- 25:00Speaker 2: you say it, McAfee? Yep. Pat McAfee. More like Pat McA-tree.
- 25:10Speaker 4: Spot McAfee.
- 25:12Speaker 2: I'll play that game all day, dude.
- 25:15Speaker 4: You'll win.
- 25:18Speaker 1: Here's something to ponder. Did Tua make Mike McDaniel look good?
- 25:25Speaker 6: Wow.
- 25:27Speaker 2: No need to discuss that.
- 25:29Speaker 1: Dashing away for a rainy day, although I will say
- 25:32Speaker 1: it's something I might want.
- 25:32Speaker 2: To discuss now. It's a fair thing to think about.
- 25:40Speaker 1: Death, taxes, and us asking the question, are the Raiders
- 25:45Speaker 1: for real? A tradition unlike any other.
- 25:50Speaker 2: They're 2-0.
- 25:51Speaker 1: They have two quarterbacks better than Justin Herbert.
- 25:56Speaker 4: For real? No.
- 25:58Speaker 3: I like what they did in the offseason.
- 26:00Speaker 4: Listen, on their way, maybe.
- 26:03Speaker 2: Right.
- 26:03Speaker 4: For real, no.
- 26:04Speaker 2: Not now.
- 26:05Speaker 4: Too soon.
- 26:05Speaker 7: All right.
- 26:07Speaker 1: Joe Alt, four penalties. Max Crosby, had him in hell.
- 26:12Speaker 1: Speaking of hell, Art Bryles. Mikey, those are the weekend observations.
- 26:32Speaker 1: Will Stein, the head coach of the University of Kentucky
- 26:35Speaker 1: football team, is joining us right now.
- 26:37Speaker 2: Excited to have him.
- 26:38Speaker 1: Coach, I am wondering here to get started, you were
- 26:40Speaker 1: born in Louisville, Kentucky. You played football as a walk-on
- 26:45Speaker 1: at Louisville. How do friends and family feel about a
- 26:48Speaker 1: kid born in Louisville, played college ball in.
- 26:51Speaker 2: Louisville, being the head coach of the University of Kentucky?
- 26:55Speaker 6: Well, I mean, it's... It's pretty surreal, to be honest.
- 26:59Speaker 6: You know, I grew up a diehard Kentucky fan. My
- 27:02Speaker 6: dad played here in Kentucky. My mom's a graduate of Kentucky.
- 27:05Speaker 6: So blue ran in my blood up until I was
- 27:07Speaker 6: 18 years old and decided to walk on in Louisville.
- 27:10Speaker 6: Had a great experience there and played for Steve Crackthorpe
- 27:13Speaker 6: and Charlie Strong. And it all comes full circle. Ended
- 27:17Speaker 6: up right back here at UK. So, you know, we're
- 27:20Speaker 6: blessed to be in this position.
- 27:22Speaker 1: But no one's giving you any sort of crap because, hey,
- 27:25Speaker 1: you're from Louisville, you went to Louisville, and now you're
- 27:27Speaker 1: coaching Kentucky.
- 27:28Speaker 2: I mean, they're arch rivals.
- 27:29Speaker 6: I mean, you know, I get the text, like, I'm
- 27:31Speaker 6: rooting for you every game but one. I'm like, I
- 27:33Speaker 6: wish you would just tell me that you're not rooting
- 27:35Speaker 6: for me at all.
- 27:35Speaker 7: You know, like, I hate those texts. I think those
- 27:38Speaker 7: are just lame as hell.
- 27:39Speaker 1: This is your first coaching job. Congratulations to you, head
- 27:42Speaker 1: coaching job. And I am wondering, what has surprised you
- 27:44Speaker 1: the most about being a head coach?
- 27:46Speaker 2: At this level.
- 27:48Speaker 6: I might think just everything that you got to do
- 27:51Speaker 6: on a day-by-day basis all of the problems come to
- 27:53Speaker 6: you you know when i was the offense coordinator the
- 27:56Speaker 6: last five years of my career it was uh you
- 27:59Speaker 6: dealt with the offense you dealt with offensive recruiting you
- 28:01Speaker 6: obviously had relationships on both sides of the ball but
- 28:04Speaker 6: you know you dealt with one side and now i'm
- 28:06Speaker 6: dealing with everything but you know that's what uh leadership's
- 28:09Speaker 6: all about is is problem solving being adaptable and thankfully
- 28:13Speaker 6: i have great people around me and great players around
- 28:15Speaker 6: me to help me.
- 28:17Speaker 3: Coach, after SEC media days, you were asked, why is
- 28:20Speaker 3: Kentucky going to win? And you said, because of me.
- 28:22Speaker 3: And then you go on the road and beat number nine,
- 28:24Speaker 3: Texas A & M. And you said, I'm not shocked.
- 28:27Speaker 3: This is what Kentucky football is supposed to look like.
- 28:29Speaker 3: Where does that level of confidence that you have come from?
- 28:33Speaker 6: Well, number one, my players, the way that they practice
- 28:36Speaker 6: every single day and come prepared for meetings and have
- 28:39Speaker 6: an intentional mindset to get better, that gives me a
- 28:41Speaker 6: lot of confidence.
- 28:42Speaker 7: I love my staff. We're extremely connected.
- 28:44Speaker 6: They're, they're, You know, guys that I love being around
- 28:47Speaker 6: outside of football. And so I think it's just really
- 28:51Speaker 6: the people in this building that give me that confidence.
- 28:54Speaker 1: What happened to your team, Coach? I was so excited.
- 28:56Speaker 1: I was watching that game. I thought you guys were
- 28:59Speaker 1: going to win that game. And I'm sorry to bring
- 29:00Speaker 1: up a bad memory here, but what happened there in
- 29:02Speaker 1: the second half to Alabama?
- 29:03Speaker 2: And what did your team learn from that second half
- 29:05Speaker 2: against Alabama?
- 29:07Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean, the Alabama game, I think, you know,
- 29:10Speaker 6: we learned a lot, to be honest. You know, we
- 29:12Speaker 6: didn't finish that game. We started off really well. We
- 29:15Speaker 6: created turnovers on defense. We moved the ball on offense.
- 29:18Speaker 6: You know, going up 17-13, going into halftime was huge. And,
- 29:21Speaker 6: you know, it was 17-16 with three minutes left in
- 29:23Speaker 6: the third quarter. So we knew and we know that
- 29:27Speaker 6: we have great players on this team. And it was just,
- 29:29Speaker 6: more or less finishing each play and not looking at
- 29:32Speaker 6: the scoreboard. And so that was the big focus going
- 29:35Speaker 6: into this game, especially on a, on the road in
- 29:37Speaker 6: the sec hostile environment, truly, having one play focus and
- 29:41Speaker 6: and our whole theme last week was being the eye
- 29:43Speaker 6: of the storm and we knew there was a lot
- 29:45Speaker 6: of chaos going around a lot of people talking about
- 29:47Speaker 6: us in a negative way and it was just do
- 29:49Speaker 6: our job right and that was what i was most
- 29:52Speaker 6: proud of with our guys is they didn't let anything
- 29:54Speaker 6: phase them sometimes i feel like you you you inherently
- 29:57Speaker 6: do that on the road better because you're literally there
- 30:00Speaker 6: with your squad.
- 30:01Speaker 7: That's it.
- 30:02Speaker 6: You know, you got family in the stands, but it's
- 30:03Speaker 6: not like, like the Alabama game for me.
- 30:06Speaker 7: There's 50 people that wanted tickets, you know?
- 30:09Speaker 3: Yes.
- 30:09Speaker 7: You know, I got A & M, it's just me
- 30:11Speaker 7: and my squad.
- 30:12Speaker 6: So I do love going on the road in those moments.
- 30:16Speaker 6: And we bunkered down and came out with a big,
- 30:18Speaker 6: big win.
- 30:19Speaker 3: Coach, as a first time head coach, when you're taking
- 30:22Speaker 3: over a program, How important is getting this kind of
- 30:25Speaker 3: early win against a top 10 team where the players
- 30:28Speaker 3: could actually see, OK, this works, what we're doing is
- 30:32Speaker 3: leading to success?
- 30:34Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean, I think it is big.
- 30:36Speaker 6: It's our ability to double down on our process, which
- 30:40Speaker 6: I believe is a great way to do things, how
- 30:44Speaker 6: we practice, how we plan, how we meet. But, yeah,
- 30:48Speaker 6: it was big for our guys. I mean, shoot, we're
- 30:50Speaker 6: 1-1 in the league. You know, I didn't overreact after
- 30:53Speaker 6: two games here like everybody else. You know, we just
- 30:57Speaker 6: got back to work and had a great week of
- 30:58Speaker 6: practice last week and put together another really good practice
- 31:01Speaker 6: today on Tuesday and looking forward to another opportunity.
- 31:03Speaker 7: Against South Owl.
- 31:05Speaker 1: Coach, so the trickiest thing for you, I guess you
- 31:09Speaker 1: kind of answered this, but I am wondering, as a
- 31:11Speaker 1: first-time head coach, and you talk about managing kids, is
- 31:15Speaker 1: it fair to say, because I coached at one point,
- 31:18Speaker 1: not at your level, but I coached a women's lacrosse team.
- 31:20Speaker 2: They were the best in the country for two years.
- 31:23Speaker 1: My daughter went to college, played lacrosse at Northwestern University.
- 31:26Speaker 2: And for me, coaching, one of.
- 31:28Speaker 1: The things that I found is, all these kids are
- 31:30Speaker 1: different and you have to get to know each one
- 31:33Speaker 1: of what makes each one tick. Have you found that
- 31:36Speaker 1: to be an important part of coaching? Because these kids
- 31:38Speaker 1: cannot all be coached the same. And I'm wondering how
- 31:41Speaker 1: you go about doing that.
- 31:43Speaker 7: Well, I liked your subtle flex right there. The best
- 31:45Speaker 7: team in the country.
- 31:46Speaker 1: I mean, coach, they were, I should.
- 31:50Speaker 2: Be coaching college. In fact, if you want to start
- 31:52Speaker 2: a program at Kentucky, I'll come be the head coach.
- 31:54Speaker 7: I mean, that's right. I like that. No, but you're right. No,
- 31:58Speaker 7: everybody's different. And, it hasn't changed.
- 32:00Speaker 6: I mean, when I was playing, you know, before I
- 32:02Speaker 6: was playing, everybody's different. And so I think that's the,
- 32:05Speaker 6: the sign of really good coaching is being able to,
- 32:09Speaker 6: to meet your players where they're at, but also push
- 32:11Speaker 6: them the limits that they've never been to before.
- 32:13Speaker 7: So it's never the same.
- 32:16Speaker 6: This team this year is different than what I experienced
- 32:19Speaker 6: at Oregon.
- 32:19Speaker 7: Right.
- 32:20Speaker 6: So I couldn't just rinse, repeat everything that we did
- 32:23Speaker 6: with Dan Lanning here because it just didn't fit necessarily
- 32:26Speaker 6: this year's team. So, Everything's different, but I think the
- 32:31Speaker 6: number one factor that coaches have to continue to do
- 32:34Speaker 6: is build connection with the players. I mean, if they don't–
- 32:37Speaker 6: and not like that they have to like you or
- 32:38Speaker 6: be your friend, but do they respect you and do
- 32:41Speaker 6: they know that, like, you love them unconditionally, not when
- 32:44Speaker 6: they just make plays for you on the field and
- 32:47Speaker 6: that they know that.
- 32:48Speaker 7: You have their back.
- 32:49Speaker 4: Right.
- 32:49Speaker 7: You know?
- 32:50Speaker 4: Yes.
- 32:50Speaker 7: That, to me, is a major factor in developing a team. Right.
- 32:54Speaker 2: Coach is taking time out of his time to get
- 32:56Speaker 2: to know me. That's important.
- 32:57Speaker 7: Yeah. Exactly.
- 33:00Speaker 5: Coach, you mentioned those relationships, and you were at Oregon.
- 33:03Speaker 5: How much of an eye are you keeping on how
- 33:05Speaker 5: much they've struggled going into this first three weeks?
- 33:09Speaker 6: Listen, man, you got Dan Lanning, you got Dante Moore,
- 33:12Speaker 6: you got that squad. They're going to be just fine.
- 33:16Speaker 7: In 2024, we barely beat Idaho. We should have lost
- 33:18Speaker 7: to Boise State.
- 33:19Speaker 6: We scored three special team scores in that game and
- 33:22Speaker 6: went 13-0 and won the Big Ten.
- 33:23Speaker 7: So Dan Lanning is an elite coach. They have elite
- 33:28Speaker 7: coaches and players, and they'll be just fine.
- 33:31Speaker 3: Coach, I love your quarterback, Kenny Minchie, and you mentioned
- 33:34Speaker 3: your time at Oregon. You're on a great run of quarterbacks,
- 33:37Speaker 3: Bo Nix, Dylan Gabriel, Dante Moore. What did you see
- 33:40Speaker 3: in Kenny Minchie to know that he would thrive in
- 33:43Speaker 3: your offense?
- 33:45Speaker 6: Well, you know, I think there's a lot of factors,
- 33:47Speaker 6: and in the portal recruiting, everything happens at a rapid
- 33:51Speaker 6: amount of rapid speed.
- 33:53Speaker 7: So it's hard to really know Our offensive coordinator, Joe Sloan.
- 33:57Speaker 6: Had a prior relationship with him through recruiting him in
- 34:00Speaker 6: high school, which was, I think, big for us initially.
- 34:04Speaker 6: And also, Joe Sloan worked hand-in-hand with Mike Denbrock at LSU.
- 34:09Speaker 6: So Mike's coaching Kenny at Notre Dame. There was some
- 34:13Speaker 6: carryover in terms of just the relationships. And when you
- 34:16Speaker 6: watch the tape, even in the backup time that he
- 34:20Speaker 6: did last year, I just saw throws that translated to
- 34:24Speaker 6: our offense.
- 34:25Speaker 7: Um, you watch his high school tape.
- 34:27Speaker 6: He was an elite 11 finalist, one of the top
- 34:28Speaker 6: 10 quarterbacks in the country. To me, it was just
- 34:31Speaker 6: an opportunity. Just like we all get opportunities in life.
- 34:34Speaker 6: You all have on your show.
- 34:36Speaker 7: I have here.
- 34:37Speaker 6: It was Kenny's opportunity to come here and take it.
- 34:40Speaker 6: And so, um, and I think you just need people
- 34:42Speaker 6: that like poured into him, believed in him and Hey, you're,
- 34:44Speaker 6: you're a guy. Right.
- 34:45Speaker 7: And so he's just, he's taken and taken it and
- 34:48Speaker 7: ran with it.
- 34:49Speaker 6: And I think the best thing that happened to Kenny
- 34:51Speaker 6: was honestly, we too, not playing to his standard. comes
- 34:54Speaker 6: back in week three and has a really good.
- 34:56Speaker 7: Performance on the road.
- 34:57Speaker 6: So I'm excited about him and his growth that's going
- 35:00Speaker 6: to happen over this week and throughout the course of
- 35:02Speaker 6: this season.
- 35:03Speaker 1: Coach, when you were around Bo Nix, coaching Bo Nix,
- 35:07Speaker 1: did you think he would turn into this at the
- 35:09Speaker 1: NFL level?
- 35:10Speaker 2: Because this is pretty special.
- 35:12Speaker 7: 100%.
- 35:13Speaker 6: Really?
- 35:13Speaker 4: 100%. Yeah.
- 35:14Speaker 7: Probably the best player I've ever been around in my life.
- 35:16Speaker 6: Really?
- 35:16Speaker 7: He's an absolute freak show.
- 35:18Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 35:19Speaker 6: I mean, people don't realize he's 6'3, 218, runs 4'5, too,
- 35:23Speaker 6: you know, and, like, has a cannon, accurate, the smartest
- 35:26Speaker 6: guy I've ever been around in terms of football IQ,
- 35:30Speaker 6: son of a coach, competitive, relentless.
- 35:34Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean, the guy's– the sky's the limit for Bo.
- 35:38Speaker 1: In a weird hypothetical world, if you were picking number
- 35:41Speaker 1: one in the NFL draft, would your pick be Dante Moore?
- 35:44Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 35:47Speaker 7: Yeah. I mean, I love Dante. I think he's a
- 35:48Speaker 7: freak show too, man.
- 35:49Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 35:50Speaker 7: Yeah. I think if he went out last year, I
- 35:52Speaker 7: don't know if.
- 35:53Speaker 6: He would have passed up Fernando, but I think it
- 35:55Speaker 6: would have been close once they went through the entire process.
- 35:57Speaker 4: Right.
- 35:58Speaker 6: So he's got all the intangibles. He can make every throw.
- 36:01Speaker 6: He's an elite competitor and an even better person. So yeah,
- 36:04Speaker 6: I would definitely be choosing Dante as a quarterback for sure.
- 36:07Speaker 2: All right. I'm going to try a game on you here.
- 36:10Speaker 2: It'll be quick. Okay. Very easy. It's called will or
- 36:13Speaker 2: will not. Okay.
- 36:14Speaker 1: And I'm going to give you A scenario here, and
- 36:16Speaker 1: you tell me if it's something you would do or
- 36:19Speaker 1: wouldn't do, essentially.
- 36:20Speaker 2: Why am I explaining it to you? It's simple. Will
- 36:22Speaker 2: or will not. Okay.
- 36:24Speaker 7: Okay.
- 36:24Speaker 2: Okay. Ketchup on steak. Will or will not.
- 36:28Speaker 7: Will not.
- 36:29Speaker 2: Thank you. Now, Jesus Christ. Oh, Mikey has one. Mikey
- 36:33Speaker 2: has perked.
- 36:33Speaker 4: This is where I live.
- 36:34Speaker 2: Right. No, like he's serious about it. No, he's serious
- 36:37Speaker 2: about the ketchup on the steak.
- 36:38Speaker 7: Wait, Mikey, you put ketchup on your steak?
- 36:39Speaker 2: No, no.
- 36:39Speaker 4: No.
- 36:40Speaker 2: Look at him. Whoa, whoa. You said the same thing. Oh,
- 36:42Speaker 2: we're friends here, Will.
- 36:43Speaker 4: Yeah. We're friends here, Will.
- 36:46Speaker 7: I heard that's where I live.
- 36:47Speaker 2: I'm like, what is going on here?
- 36:48Speaker 4: This game is where I live.
- 36:49Speaker 7: Oh, this game.
- 36:50Speaker 2: Yes, yes, yes. Did you have one for him?
- 36:55Speaker 4: I've got plenty. You started talking over me.
- 36:57Speaker 7: Yeah, no, let's go.
- 36:58Speaker 4: All right, go.
- 36:58Speaker 7: I'm the fullest of it.
- 36:59Speaker 2: Go, Mikey.
- 37:01Speaker 4: Pumpkin spice lattes.
- 37:02Speaker 6: Ooh.
- 37:03Speaker 7: Pumpkin spice lattes. Yes. No.
- 37:06Speaker 2: Okay, open bar at a wedding, ordering a Shirley Temple.
- 37:10Speaker 2: Taylor did that. Will or will nots? No.
- 37:15Speaker 7: Will not.
- 37:16Speaker 2: He's also a walk-on. He walked out to Carolina.
- 37:19Speaker 6: I don't know if I've even had a Shirley Campbell.
- 37:21Speaker 6: Maybe when I was really little.
- 37:22Speaker 2: I don't know. He's given walk-ons a bad name, Coach.
- 37:24Speaker 4: He really is.
- 37:25Speaker 7: Go ahead, Mike.
- 37:28Speaker 4: Peeing in the pool.
- 37:29Speaker 2: Oh, that's a good one.
- 37:30Speaker 7: Peeing in the pool. Yes.
- 37:31Speaker 2: Come on.
- 37:32Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 37:32Speaker 7: I think everybody's done that before.
- 37:34Speaker 2: Sure. Will. Peeing in the shower.
- 37:38Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 37:39Speaker 2: Yeah, of course.
- 37:39Speaker 3: Duh.
- 37:40Speaker 7: Duh.
- 37:40Speaker 2: Yes. Ketchup on a hot dog.
- 37:45Speaker 7: Yes.
- 37:46Speaker 2: Really?
- 37:48Speaker 7: Ketchup, mustard, and relish. That's how I do it.
- 37:49Speaker 2: Wow. I love it.
- 37:51Speaker 4: All right. Go ahead, Mike.
- 37:51Speaker 6: I didn't even know that was a question.
- 37:55Speaker 4: No, I'm not.
- 37:55Speaker 7: Whenever you see, like, the cartoon ketchup, it's got, like,
- 37:58Speaker 7: the ketchup and the mustard. Is it not?
- 38:01Speaker 3: That's a great point.
- 38:02Speaker 2: He's so right about it.
- 38:06Speaker 4: All right. This one's a little harder now.
- 38:08Speaker 7: Okay.
- 38:08Speaker 4: International football games.
- 38:10Speaker 7: International football games.
- 38:12Speaker 4: Yes.
- 38:12Speaker 6: That's a bad spot you're putting me on.
- 38:15Speaker 7: I think it would be fun for our guys. I
- 38:18Speaker 7: don't know. I don't know how that would work out.
- 38:20Speaker 7: I think it depends. I don't know if I'd want
- 38:23Speaker 7: to go to Australia like Sean McVay and Shane had
- 38:26Speaker 7: to do. Nothing against Australia. That's just pretty far.
- 38:29Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a far trip to play a football game.
- 38:31Speaker 2: Are you a golfer? Are you a golfer? Into golf
- 38:33Speaker 2: at all?
- 38:33Speaker 7: Yes.
- 38:33Speaker 5: All right.
- 38:33Speaker 2: Tricked out golf carts. Will or will nots?
- 38:36Speaker 7: Tricked out golf cart.
- 38:42Speaker 6: I mean, I wouldn't say tricked out, but like, you know,
- 38:44Speaker 6: I think it'd be, I might have like a golf cart.
- 38:47Speaker 7: I don't have one now, but I think you could
- 38:49Speaker 7: get one. Okay.
- 38:50Speaker 3: Yes.
- 38:51Speaker 2: You can get one. You can get one for free coach.
- 38:53Speaker 2: If you want.
- 38:53Speaker 1: I'm certain.
- 38:55Speaker 7: I mean, it's not like a full, but I would
- 38:57Speaker 7: not like choose that. But if somebody was like, Hey,
- 39:00Speaker 7: we got a cool golf cart. I'd be like, all right.
- 39:01Speaker 4: Yeah. I'll drive it.
- 39:02Speaker 7: All right.
- 39:02Speaker 2: Go ahead, Mike.
- 39:04Speaker 4: Plant-based meat.
- 39:05Speaker 2: Ooh.
- 39:06Speaker 7: Plant-based meat?
- 39:07Speaker 2: No. No. Get out of here. He's the half-football coach
- 39:10Speaker 2: of Kentucky. What are you talking about? Blaring music on
- 39:15Speaker 2: a golf course. Will or will not?
- 39:18Speaker 7: Blaring music?
- 39:19Speaker 2: Yes, because when you have a tripped-out cart, you've got
- 39:21Speaker 2: to blare music.
- 39:22Speaker 1: Out of it.
- 39:22Speaker 2: You get speakers, the whole deal.
- 39:23Speaker 4: No. No.
- 39:24Speaker 2: All right.
- 39:25Speaker 4: No.
- 39:25Speaker 2: All right, Taylor?
- 39:26Speaker 7: I do like music on a golf course, but I
- 39:27Speaker 7: wouldn't say blaring it. Okay.
- 39:29Speaker 2: Yes, that's fair.
- 39:29Speaker 3: Okay. I actually have a separate question.
- 39:32Speaker 4: What?
- 39:32Speaker 3: There used to be a bit where people wondered if
- 39:35Speaker 3: the San Francisco Giants and the New York Giants would
- 39:37Speaker 3: hang out together because they were both Giants. When you
- 39:40Speaker 3: took over Kentucky, do you ever hang out with Willie Cauley-Stein?
- 39:43Speaker 2: Will Stein, Willie Cauley-Stein?
- 39:46Speaker 7: I have not yet.
- 39:47Speaker 2: No.
- 39:47Speaker 7: I need to meet Willie Cauley-Stein. I know. It'd be
- 39:50Speaker 7: like the tale of two wills.
- 39:52Speaker 4: He's just a cauley away.
- 39:53Speaker 7: He's like seven foot. I'm like five nine. It'd be
- 39:56Speaker 7: pretty funny.
- 39:56Speaker 2: Mikey is right. He made a bad joke. He's just
- 39:58Speaker 2: a callie away. Last one. Will or will not.
- 40:01Speaker 1: We've enjoyed this very much. We want to come up
- 40:03Speaker 1: to Kentucky. We're big fans. I want to do the
- 40:06Speaker 1: show from the sidelines of one of your games, if possible.
- 40:09Speaker 1: Last one for you.
- 40:11Speaker 2: Kentucky will always be known as a basketball school. Will
- 40:14Speaker 2: or will not. You're going to change that. Come on.
- 40:16Speaker 7: No, no. I think this is a great athletics department.
- 40:19Speaker 6: I mean, Craig Skinner's got our women's volleyball top three
- 40:22Speaker 6: in the country. We have some elite teams. Nick Mingione,
- 40:26Speaker 6: our baseball coach. Mark Pope, love him, man. I'm a
- 40:29Speaker 6: giant Kentucky basketball fan. I think Kentucky's an elite school
- 40:33Speaker 6: and an elite university, and Big Blue Nation is the
- 40:36Speaker 6: best in the country.
- 40:37Speaker 7: And to me, I think we can all go out
- 40:40Speaker 7: there and have a lot of success.
- 40:41Speaker 1: All right. We have a busy schedule here, Coach. We
- 40:44Speaker 1: have trips to make to Memphis. I think we're going
- 40:46Speaker 1: to Texas for a game. We'd like to come to
- 40:49Speaker 1: a Kentucky game. Are we invited? Would you welcome us,
- 40:51Speaker 1: I guess is what I'm asking.
- 40:53Speaker 7: Yeah, is that a will or will not?
- 40:56Speaker 2: Yes, I'll set a Kentucky game, will or will not.
- 40:58Speaker 3: Will.
- 40:58Speaker 1: Yes.
- 40:59Speaker 7: Will. Yeah, will.
- 41:01Speaker 2: All right, but you're not going to let me call
- 41:02Speaker 2: a play, right? Like that's going 2-4, correct?
- 41:05Speaker 7: Well, I mean, it depends on what play you want
- 41:07Speaker 7: to call. I can give you like a menu of
- 41:10Speaker 7: plays that we have.
- 41:11Speaker 4: Yes.
- 41:11Speaker 7: You can pick which one you like.
- 41:12Speaker 2: That's fine, right. Give me five options and I'll just
- 41:14Speaker 2: choose one, okay?
- 41:15Speaker 7: There you go.
- 41:16Speaker 2: All right, we'll get this.
- 41:18Speaker 1: We'll talk to your people, your SID, your athletic director,
- 41:22Speaker 1: and we'll make a trip.
- 41:23Speaker 2: To Kentucky. Coach, we enjoyed this very much.
- 41:25Speaker 1: Congratulations to you and good luck to you here the
- 41:29Speaker 1: rest of your way, the rest of the way. Your
- 41:31Speaker 1: team is a very fun team to watch. We enjoy
- 41:33Speaker 1: watching them.
- 41:34Speaker 7: Appreciate you guys. Go Cats.
- 41:35Speaker 2: You got it, man.
