- 0:04Speaker 2: Joyce, are you checking up on me?
- 0:07Speaker 3: I'd be insulted if a guy said, Hey, how many
- 0:10Speaker 3: bills of hey can you load on my truck?
- 0:14Speaker 4: Oh?
- 0:14Speaker 5: No, he hit the wall.
- 0:25Speaker 6: I'm miss Jean.
- 0:26Speaker 7: Join me on a trip to Discovery Mountain, where the
- 0:29Speaker 7: air is clear, clear enough to hear your imagination, and
- 0:33Speaker 7: where every day is an exercise in faith. Join me
- 0:37Speaker 7: for today's expedition. Summer camp is quickly coming to an end.
- 0:54Speaker 7: There are only a couple of days left. Campers will
- 0:57Speaker 7: be trying to pack an awful lot into those One
- 1:01Speaker 7: more trip across the lake in a canoe, one last
- 1:04Speaker 7: trail ride, a last attempt to hit a bullseye at
- 1:07Speaker 7: the archery range. Staff are packing a lot into these
- 1:11Speaker 7: last days too, making sure every camper gets one last chance.
- 1:16Speaker 6: At their favorite activity.
- 1:17Speaker 7: Mister Garcia is especially busy getting ready for dress rehearsal,
- 1:22Speaker 7: and right now Hattie is in the craft tent for
- 1:24Speaker 7: another lemonade challenge and pottery craft. Let's join the campers
- 1:29Speaker 7: for today's episode called Work in Progress.
- 1:35Speaker 8: Good morning, everyone, settle in quickly because we need to
- 1:38Speaker 8: get started.
- 1:39Speaker 9: Suttle in, How can I when it's so crowded.
- 1:42Speaker 6: It's not that bad, Lily.
- 1:44Speaker 8: We just have a little less room than usual since
- 1:46Speaker 8: we're combining the older and younger campers today. Why are
- 1:49Speaker 8: we doing that so there's more time for the drama
- 1:52Speaker 8: production dress rehearsal Oh yeah, Harold.
- 1:55Speaker 10: You need to talk, not now, Jennet.
- 1:58Speaker 9: Okay, then after class.
- 2:00Speaker 6: Shirt maybe, but can't talk now. We need to listen, campers.
- 2:04Speaker 8: I've invited a few guests to join us for our
- 2:06Speaker 8: big day tomorrow, big day worn pottery class.
- 2:11Speaker 9: Look at how pretty our mugs are.
- 2:14Speaker 11: Ugh, this is boring, Natalia, you podliu so spokly?
- 2:19Speaker 12: Thanks, Lana.
- 2:21Speaker 8: Okay, everyone now, today is a fun day. We're gonna
- 2:24Speaker 8: make lemonade.
- 2:26Speaker 13: I already know how.
- 2:27Speaker 9: You just pour some powder and water and stir. That's
- 2:30Speaker 9: the lazy way, Jackson. It tastes better if you make
- 2:33Speaker 9: it the way miss Michelle does.
- 2:35Speaker 5: What do you know?
- 2:36Speaker 8: You're just a kid for the last time, Lily Jackson,
- 2:41Speaker 8: that's enough arguing.
- 2:42Speaker 9: Sorry, miss Hattie, Yeah, sorry, thank you.
- 2:47Speaker 8: Now everyone in front of me, I have a picture
- 2:50Speaker 8: of water, a cup of sugar and ice cubes. What's
- 2:54Speaker 8: the other thing that looks like an upside down orange.
- 2:57Speaker 8: Oh well, this is a citrus choicer or reamer. It's
- 3:01Speaker 8: for the lemons.
- 3:02Speaker 6: W Grandma has that?
- 3:04Speaker 8: Now? Watch first, put one cup of water and one
- 3:09Speaker 8: cup of sugar into this saucepan. The next step is
- 3:13Speaker 8: to heat it until the sugar dissolves.
- 3:16Speaker 11: That makes a simple soup, right.
- 3:18Speaker 8: Yes, exactly, And once it cools, the next step is
- 3:22Speaker 8: to mix it with one cup of lemon juice and
- 3:24Speaker 8: three cups of water, and.
- 3:25Speaker 9: Then we have lemonade.
- 3:27Speaker 6: Can I try the lemon juicer?
- 3:29Speaker 11: Yes, Piper, here you go.
- 3:31Speaker 6: And who else would like to make fresh lemon juice?
- 3:33Speaker 14: Oh? I would me too.
- 3:36Speaker 9: I can show you how to use the citrus juicer.
- 3:38Speaker 6: Thank you, Henry.
- 3:39Speaker 11: I'll measure the water, I'll do the ice.
- 3:42Speaker 6: All right, let's make lemonade.
- 3:45Speaker 15: Jackson, did you sign up for cooking class at camp?
- 3:49Speaker 16: Ugh?
- 3:50Speaker 9: Definitely not.
- 3:51Speaker 8: Still have the snake yep, Time to hugo Jackson.
- 3:55Speaker 6: Why don't you too stir the lemonade?
- 3:57Speaker 10: Yes?
- 3:59Speaker 7: The campers followed the steps for homemade lemonade. They finished
- 4:04Speaker 7: just in time for drama.
- 4:06Speaker 8: All right, campers, now hurry along to the drama tent.
- 4:09Speaker 8: Mister Garcia is waiting for you.
- 4:11Speaker 6: Bye mys hottie.
- 4:15Speaker 8: God, please show me how to get through to these campers,
- 4:19Speaker 8: all the campers with this lemonade.
- 4:21Speaker 11: John, thank you?
- 4:25Speaker 9: Hey Lanna, do you see Harold anywhere this logan?
- 4:30Speaker 11: And huh? I thought Harold was right there too.
- 4:34Speaker 9: He knows we need to edit mister Simon's interview.
- 4:37Speaker 11: Come on, let's get ready food dress reheosal.
- 4:40Speaker 9: Hugo, you have to let the snake go.
- 4:43Speaker 11: The sooner the.
- 4:43Speaker 15: Better, No way, Jackson, I still might use her to
- 4:47Speaker 15: pull off an epic crank.
- 4:49Speaker 12: If the snake isn't moving around reading much, she might
- 4:52Speaker 12: be sick.
- 4:53Speaker 15: You worry too much, Jackson. The snake's fine. Now let's
- 4:58Speaker 15: get inside the tent. Idea for today's rehearsal. We kind
- 5:02Speaker 15: of idea you ever heard of? Camel races?
- 5:08Speaker 6: Mister Garcia?
- 5:09Speaker 1: Are you all set for dress rehearsal today?
- 5:11Speaker 9: All the proper steps been.
- 5:13Speaker 2: Followed, Joyce? Are you checking up on me?
- 5:16Speaker 6: It's my job, mister Garcia.
- 5:18Speaker 1: I'm making sure everything's running smoothly and fixing small problems
- 5:23Speaker 1: before they get to be big problems.
- 5:25Speaker 2: No problems here, Joyce, Stick around and see for yourself.
- 5:29Speaker 11: I think I will.
- 5:31Speaker 2: Time to get started, campers, find a seat. Now listen
- 5:35Speaker 2: as I tell you the story of Eliezar, Rebecca and Isaac.
- 5:38Speaker 11: So that's what we should have done.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Fooshed precisely, Lana. The first thing we should have done
- 5:44Speaker 2: is turn to the Bible and read what God has
- 5:46Speaker 2: to say to us.
- 5:47Speaker 10: That story's in Genesis, isn't it.
- 5:49Speaker 2: Yes, Cyrus, I'm reading the twenty fourth chapter. Abraham was
- 5:54Speaker 2: now very old, he said to the senior servant in
- 5:57Speaker 2: his household, the one in charge of all that he.
- 5:59Speaker 4: Had any aser for more than fifty years. You have
- 6:05Speaker 4: faithfully served me, Yes, Abraham, the task I have for
- 6:10Speaker 4: you now I would trust to no other. Oh, I'm
- 6:15Speaker 4: getting old and wish to see my son Isaac settled
- 6:18Speaker 4: before I die. I would like you to find a
- 6:22Speaker 4: suitable wife for him. I will begin making inquiries immediately. Remember,
- 6:29Speaker 4: my son must not marry any of the daughters of
- 6:33Speaker 4: the Canaanites who live around us. Yes, most important, go
- 6:37Speaker 4: to my country and promise you will find a wife
- 6:41Speaker 4: or my son from among my own relatives.
- 6:44Speaker 17: All that you say, I will do, Abraham. What if
- 6:51Speaker 17: I can't find a woman who is willing to come
- 6:53Speaker 17: back with me?
- 6:54Speaker 4: A stranger the Lord will send his angel before you
- 6:57Speaker 4: to help you go. Now, take as many men as
- 7:01Speaker 4: you see fit, and camels loaded with the choicest gifts.
- 7:07Speaker 4: May God go with you.
- 7:13Speaker 16: Eliezer, Sir, What is it, Hilimaz? The men are requesting
- 7:18Speaker 16: a pause to rest. We are in the fourth week
- 7:21Speaker 16: of our journey. Both men and camels grow weary.
- 7:25Speaker 17: Do you see the city in the distance. Tell the
- 7:27Speaker 17: men we will stop there, for it is the home
- 7:31Speaker 17: of Abraham's family.
- 7:32Speaker 16: That is welcome news. Indeed, But may I inquire further?
- 7:37Speaker 16: Of course, once we arrive, how will you choose the
- 7:41Speaker 16: woman who is to become the matriarch of the family.
- 7:44Speaker 17: Ah, I wish I knew, Hilimaz.
- 7:47Speaker 16: Oh, perhaps the choice will be easy. We bring camels
- 7:51Speaker 16: loaded with fine clothing and gold. The young women of
- 7:54Speaker 16: this city will clamor to be chosen when they see
- 7:57Speaker 16: these gifts.
- 7:58Speaker 17: Such a woman would not be worthy of my master's son.
- 8:01Speaker 16: It is a wonder you even care whether our master
- 8:04Speaker 16: has a good wife?
- 8:05Speaker 2: Is it?
- 8:06Speaker 16: Until Isaac was born? It was you, Master Abraham chose
- 8:09Speaker 16: to inherit his wealth. You could have lived like a king.
- 8:13Speaker 16: Were it not for Isaac. I would wish a skinny,
- 8:17Speaker 16: homely bride for my rival.
- 8:19Speaker 17: Isaac is not my rival, He is the son God promised.
- 8:23Speaker 17: And I will choose wisely for the rightful heir of Abraham.
- 8:27Speaker 16: And how will you make such a choice.
- 8:30Speaker 17: As I have always done with God's help? Now see,
- 8:34Speaker 17: we are approaching the well outside the city.
- 8:37Speaker 16: It is the time that women come out to draw
- 8:39Speaker 16: water after the heat of the day has passed.
- 8:42Speaker 17: Have the camel drivers make their beasts kneel to wait
- 8:45Speaker 17: while I speak to the God of Abraham. Yes, Eliezar,
- 8:50Speaker 17: God of my master Abraham, make me successful today. When
- 8:55Speaker 17: I ask one of the women coming to draw water
- 8:58Speaker 17: if I may drink from her water, jug, may it
- 9:01Speaker 17: be that she offers to water my camels as well?
- 9:04Speaker 17: By this I will know that she is the one
- 9:07Speaker 17: you have chosen for my master's son, Isaac.
- 9:10Speaker 18: Mister garcia Waite, Yes, Jenet. How did Eliezer come up
- 9:14Speaker 18: with a test like she'll be Isaac's wife if she
- 9:17Speaker 18: waters my camel's It sounds like the way you look
- 9:20Speaker 18: for someone to work on your farm.
- 9:23Speaker 11: Not the way to choose a wife.
- 9:25Speaker 3: I'd be insulted if a guy said, Hey, how many
- 9:28Speaker 3: bills of hey can you load on my truck.
- 9:31Speaker 9: That's what Eliezer was doing, wasn't it.
- 9:33Speaker 6: Yeah, it's not very romantic.
- 9:35Speaker 9: Ugh, there's that word again.
- 9:37Speaker 3: Really, you are consistent, if nothing else.
- 9:41Speaker 9: So why did Eliezer do that? Treated all like Isaac
- 9:45Speaker 9: was looking for a servant.
- 9:47Speaker 2: Tell you what, Jennet. Let's read a little more and
- 9:49Speaker 2: then we can talk about it. Before he had finished praying,
- 9:54Speaker 2: Rebecca came out with her jar on her shoulder.
- 9:59Speaker 16: Eliezer group of maidens approaches even now.
- 10:04Speaker 14: What wonderful news to Bira to be betrothed to her
- 10:08Speaker 14: Bara the silversmith.
- 10:09Speaker 6: Don't worry, Menesh, your time will not be long coming.
- 10:12Speaker 6: Isn't that right, Rebecca?
- 10:14Speaker 10: Oh?
- 10:14Speaker 12: Yes, we have all seen the kind way the wool
- 10:17Speaker 12: merchant's son behaves toward you.
- 10:19Speaker 6: Menesh, he is a kind man.
- 10:21Speaker 11: I could wish for no other to be betrothed to.
- 10:25Speaker 17: Greetings to you. When your water jugs have been filled,
- 10:29Speaker 17: would you kindly let me have a drink?
- 10:32Speaker 12: Indeed, sir, you may drink your fill, and I shall
- 10:36Speaker 12: water your camels as well if you wish.
- 10:38Speaker 14: Surely that isn't necessary, Rebecca. Giving the traveler a drink
- 10:42Speaker 14: is enough. Oh, I must draw my water and get back.
- 10:45Speaker 11: I promised.
- 10:46Speaker 14: Help Mother Ubara shares the evening meal with us. Today,
- 10:49Speaker 14: I'll draw water and walk back with you.
- 10:51Speaker 11: Tabira. Will you be all right, Rebecca.
- 10:54Speaker 6: Yes, I shall be fine on my own.
- 10:58Speaker 16: The maiden just answered your aser. I must admit I
- 11:03Speaker 16: expected your tests to fail. How so, sir, a camel
- 11:07Speaker 16: easily drinks twenty five jugs of water, and we have
- 11:11Speaker 16: ten thirsty beasts. The person who would water them without
- 11:15Speaker 16: being being paid does not exist.
- 11:18Speaker 17: I thought, And yet this maiden has done it.
- 11:24Speaker 12: There that's the last of them. Your animals should be content.
- 11:28Speaker 17: Now you have been a blessing. Indeed, please accept these gifts, sir.
- 11:35Speaker 12: These adornments are made of gold.
- 11:38Speaker 11: It is too much.
- 11:40Speaker 17: Your kindness is worth more than these adornments. Whose daughter
- 11:44Speaker 17: are you? Is there room in your father's house for
- 11:46Speaker 17: us to spend the night.
- 11:48Speaker 12: I am the daughter of Bethuel, the son of Nahor
- 11:50Speaker 12: and Milka, and we have plenty of room for both
- 11:53Speaker 12: your men and beasts.
- 11:55Speaker 17: Praise be to the Lord God of my master Abraham,
- 11:58Speaker 17: for he has led me to the house of my
- 12:00Speaker 17: master's relatives.
- 12:02Speaker 6: I must tell them you are coming, Mother Laban, What
- 12:12Speaker 6: is it Rebecca.
- 12:13Speaker 17: What has happened, my sister.
- 12:15Speaker 12: There was a man at the well with servants and camels.
- 12:19Speaker 12: I gave him a drink and watered his animals, and
- 12:22Speaker 12: when I was through, he gave me these gold adornments.
- 12:25Speaker 12: He said, his master is Abraham.
- 12:28Speaker 19: Abraham, the brother of our grandfather, and you left him
- 12:32Speaker 19: out there. Come you, who are blessed by the Lord.
- 12:38Speaker 19: Why are you standing out here? My servants will care
- 12:41Speaker 19: for your animals, and even now a meal is being prepared.
- 12:44Speaker 17: I will not eat until I have told you what
- 12:47Speaker 17: I have to say.
- 12:48Speaker 2: Then you must come inside and say it.
- 12:54Speaker 17: I am Eliezar, the servant of Abraham.
- 12:57Speaker 6: As Rebecca has shared.
- 12:59Speaker 17: And shown us the ornaments you gave her, there are
- 13:02Speaker 17: gifts of fine clothing and silver and gold for all
- 13:05Speaker 17: of you. The Lord has blessed my master abundantly, and
- 13:09Speaker 17: he has become very wealthy. He made me swear an
- 13:12Speaker 17: oath to find his only son a wife from his own.
- 13:15Speaker 6: Clan, a wife.
- 13:18Speaker 17: When I arrived at the well today, I asked the
- 13:20Speaker 17: Lord to show me the young woman he has chosen.
- 13:23Speaker 17: To Let it be the one who offered to water
- 13:25Speaker 17: my camels. Ah, this is from the Lord. We can
- 13:29Speaker 17: say nothing against it.
- 13:31Speaker 1: A wife, let her stay ten days with us to celebrate.
- 13:35Speaker 17: Please do not detain me, but let me be on
- 13:38Speaker 17: my way to my master.
- 13:40Speaker 19: Let my sister decide. Rebecca, will you go with this
- 13:44Speaker 19: man to a far country to be the wife of
- 13:46Speaker 19: our kinsman Abraham's son.
- 13:50Speaker 6: I yes, I will go.
- 13:56Speaker 7: Now that the campers have experienced the Bible story for
- 13:59Speaker 7: themselves will help them understand their drama characters better.
- 14:04Speaker 6: We'll find out after this short break.
- 14:10Speaker 8: Mister Garcia, I'd forgotten how real Bible stories are when
- 14:14Speaker 8: you're at Discovery Mountain Camp.
- 14:17Speaker 9: Yeah, that was pretty cool, mister Garcia.
- 14:20Speaker 18: Did Rebecca go with Eliezer just because she knew she'd
- 14:23Speaker 18: be marrying someone rich?
- 14:25Speaker 10: Uh?
- 14:26Speaker 9: Isn't that what they call a gold digger?
- 14:28Speaker 10: What about labor? He decided his sister could go off
- 14:31Speaker 10: and marry a stranger the moment he took a look
- 14:33Speaker 10: at those gold ornaments?
- 14:36Speaker 2: Are you sure that was the motivation? Remember what he
- 14:39Speaker 2: said after Eliezer told him about his prayer for a sign.
- 14:42Speaker 11: He said, this is from the Lord, And he said
- 14:45Speaker 11: they couldn't argue.
- 14:45Speaker 2: With that exactly. Now we know from later stories that
- 14:49Speaker 2: Laban was greedy, But in this instance, he simply recognized
- 14:54Speaker 2: God's hand in choosing his sister Rebecca.
- 14:56Speaker 6: But do we know if it turned out to be
- 14:58Speaker 6: a good choice.
- 14:59Speaker 2: Are you asking if Isaac and Rebecca lived happily ever after?
- 15:03Speaker 6: I mean, yeah, I guess I am.
- 15:06Speaker 2: Well. At the end of Genesis twenty four, it says
- 15:08Speaker 2: so she became his wife and he loved her, and
- 15:11Speaker 2: Isaac was comforted after his mother's death.
- 15:14Speaker 10: Wait a minute, it says he married her and then
- 15:18Speaker 10: fell in love with her. That's backwards, is it?
- 15:22Speaker 2: First of all, Aliezra was very careful who he chose
- 15:26Speaker 2: for Isaac. It was clear God had chosen her too. True,
- 15:31Speaker 2: Rebecca was naturally friendly, helpful, hospitable, and not afraid of
- 15:35Speaker 2: hard work. She must have been very easy to love.
- 15:39Speaker 10: I hadn't thought about it that way.
- 15:41Speaker 3: Most people today aren't that careful about who they fall
- 15:43Speaker 3: in love with. So maybe we're the ones who have
- 15:45Speaker 3: it backwards.
- 15:47Speaker 20: Addison, Are you saying Hattie and James aren't weird after all?
- 15:51Speaker 3: Well, their courtship is definitely different, Brianna. But maybe it's
- 15:55Speaker 3: only different because a lot of other people are doing
- 15:57Speaker 3: it wrong.
- 15:58Speaker 2: Okay, guys, talk about this story all day, but we
- 16:02Speaker 2: don't have time. The dress rehearsal must go on.
- 16:07Speaker 8: Yay, we get to put our costumes on.
- 16:12Speaker 2: Well, Camp Director, Joyce, what do you think so far?
- 16:15Speaker 1: I thought I already knew this Bible story, But hearing
- 16:19Speaker 1: it like that, yes, I well, I'm impressed with Eliezer.
- 16:26Speaker 1: He took his job seriously even though he had every
- 16:30Speaker 1: reason to be jealous of Isaac. True, it makes me
- 16:35Speaker 1: feel a little guilty.
- 16:38Speaker 2: Oh I've.
- 16:41Speaker 1: I've been jealous of my brother ever since camp started.
- 16:45Speaker 2: Jealous But why because.
- 16:48Speaker 1: I'm afraid mister Simon's going to give my job to James.
- 16:52Speaker 1: I've been losing sleep, getting cranky, and pretending I'm not
- 16:56Speaker 1: interested in his relationship with Hattie.
- 16:59Speaker 2: I didn't really notice any of that.
- 17:01Speaker 1: No, well, you probably didn't miss me trying to be
- 17:05Speaker 1: a super camp director and doing it for.
- 17:08Speaker 11: All the wrong reasons.
- 17:10Speaker 2: Well, I guess the big question now is what are
- 17:13Speaker 2: you going to do about it?
- 17:15Speaker 1: I don't know yet, but I'll definitely be praying about
- 17:18Speaker 1: it like Eliezer did.
- 17:21Speaker 2: Did you know that Aliezer's prayer is the first prayer
- 17:24Speaker 2: recorded in the Bible.
- 17:25Speaker 6: Really, that makes it even more special, I.
- 17:29Speaker 2: Think so too. Prayers always a good decision, Joyce.
- 17:32Speaker 9: Hugo, be careful with that camel costume.
- 17:36Speaker 6: Your actors need you?
- 17:37Speaker 10: Sure?
- 17:38Speaker 2: Sounds like it, okay, actors? Everyone in place?
- 17:41Speaker 13: Yes, indeedy, mister Gercia.
- 17:44Speaker 15: Okay, Jackson, Let the race begin.
- 17:47Speaker 2: Who Hugo, slow down?
- 17:50Speaker 5: Where's the prey? Oh no, he hit the wall? You
- 17:57Speaker 5: rolls in the camel? What were you.
- 17:59Speaker 2: Thinking, Hugo? Are you all right?
- 18:02Speaker 5: Is the camel all right?
- 18:05Speaker 10: Here you go, Let's get you out of there.
- 18:07Speaker 11: Did you heard anything?
- 18:09Speaker 10: I don't think so, hope.
- 18:11Speaker 9: Nothing in your pocket was damaged?
- 18:15Speaker 10: My pocket?
- 18:16Speaker 15: Oh no, everything in my pocket's fine.
- 18:21Speaker 6: Is the camel's eyes supposed to point that direction? This
- 18:25Speaker 6: is terrible.
- 18:26Speaker 9: I'm going to lose my job for sure.
- 18:28Speaker 6: I'll lose your job.
- 18:30Speaker 1: That camel's going to cost hundreds of dollars to repair.
- 18:34Speaker 1: When mister Simon finds out I've gone over budget, he
- 18:38Speaker 1: is going to fire me.
- 18:40Speaker 2: This is all my fault.
- 18:42Speaker 9: No, it's not, it's Hugo's.
- 18:45Speaker 10: I was just sure to have some fun.
- 18:50Speaker 7: The drama dress rehearsal has ended with a crash. Will
- 18:54Speaker 7: the show be able to go on? We'll find out
- 18:57Speaker 7: right after this, after the disaster and the drama tend,
- 19:04Speaker 7: the campers managed to finish the dress rehearsal, just without
- 19:08Speaker 7: a camel. Hugo had time to think while he sat
- 19:11Speaker 7: on the sidelines, and now that his group is at
- 19:14Speaker 7: the rope's course, he's still being quiet or quiet for
- 19:18Speaker 7: Hugo anyway.
- 19:21Speaker 10: Looking good, Henry now hold on tight and swinging around
- 19:23Speaker 10: to the left. Can I go now, James, wait till
- 19:26Speaker 10: Henry gets to the next platform. Okay, okay, Hugo, don't
- 19:31Speaker 10: just sit there, grab a harness and let's get ready
- 19:33Speaker 10: to go.
- 19:35Speaker 15: I don't feel like it.
- 19:36Speaker 10: Come on, you love the Rope's course and this is
- 19:39Speaker 10: your last chance. Tomorrow you'll be super busy. Sh that's okay.
- 19:44Speaker 10: I'm not in the mood. Hey, what's really going on?
- 19:48Speaker 10: Does it have anything to do with what happened in
- 19:50Speaker 10: drama class? You heard about that. That's all the campers
- 19:53Speaker 10: were talking about when we got here.
- 19:56Speaker 11: I was just trying to have some fun, make people laugh.
- 20:00Speaker 15: I don't know the camel had no breaks or that
- 20:02Speaker 15: it was so expensive.
- 20:04Speaker 8: Hmmm.
- 20:06Speaker 10: You guys are telling the story of Abraham's servant Eliezer, right, Yeah, well,
- 20:11Speaker 10: Hattie and I read Genesis chapter twenty four this year
- 20:13Speaker 10: during our Bible studies. Eliezer was known for being faithful.
- 20:17Speaker 10: He took his job very seriously, didn't he. Yeah, so
- 20:21Speaker 10: tell me what was your job today?
- 20:24Speaker 6: What do you mean?
- 20:26Speaker 10: Well? In the drama, was your job to make people laugh?
- 20:30Speaker 2: Mm? I guess not.
- 20:33Speaker 10: Do you recall what two Timothy two verse fifteen says,
- 20:37Speaker 10: h which versus that, Well, it says, do your best
- 20:42Speaker 10: to present yourself to God as one approved by him.
- 20:45Speaker 10: A worker who has no need to be ashamed rightfully
- 20:47Speaker 10: explained the word of truth ashamed. I'm guessing you feel
- 20:53Speaker 10: kind of ashamed right now, don't you.
- 20:55Speaker 15: Yeah? But what can I do about it? There's no
- 20:58Speaker 15: way I can afford to pay for that camel.
- 21:01Speaker 10: Well, you're a smart kid, and you're obviously sorry for
- 21:05Speaker 10: what happened. I'm certain God can show you other ways
- 21:08Speaker 10: to make up for the damage you've caused.
- 21:10Speaker 15: I hadn't thought about asking God for help, and I'm
- 21:14Speaker 15: not really use to doing that.
- 21:16Speaker 10: Well, there's no time like the present. Oh, no time,
- 21:21Speaker 10: I lost a good time. I was supposed to meet Hattie.
- 21:24Speaker 10: She had something important to talk to me about. Hey, Jake, Yes,
- 21:28Speaker 10: can you take over for a while. I've got to go.
- 21:30Speaker 10: I'm late, Yes, indeed. Okay, campers, who's next me?
- 21:36Speaker 5: Okay?
- 21:37Speaker 10: Logan ropes away.
- 21:45Speaker 8: Hmmm, Oh Michelle, this oatmeal chocolate chip cookie. It's the
- 21:50Speaker 8: best thing that's happened to me all day.
- 21:52Speaker 20: Then your day must have been worse than I thought,
- 21:54Speaker 20: because I brought you the reject cookies rejects.
- 21:57Speaker 9: They taste great, but.
- 21:59Speaker 13: They're not pretty.
- 22:00Speaker 20: There's supposed to be a nice golden color, not I
- 22:02Speaker 20: forgot to set the timer brown.
- 22:05Speaker 11: Well, it feels good to laugh.
- 22:07Speaker 6: It'll keep me from crying that bad.
- 22:10Speaker 8: Yeah, tomorrow is supposed to be the lemonade challenge, but
- 22:12Speaker 8: I might as well not bother.
- 22:15Speaker 20: Why I have the cookies, not rejects, and all the
- 22:19Speaker 20: lemonade supplies you requested ready for you.
- 22:22Speaker 8: Yeah, but it's so discouraging. The campers just don't seem
- 22:25Speaker 8: to get this whole activity. Most of them look bored
- 22:28Speaker 8: during our sessions.
- 22:30Speaker 20: Were you still hoping for James's help on this?
- 22:32Speaker 8: I was, but I don't know, maybe I was wrong wrong?
- 22:37Speaker 20: Oh hi James, Well, Hattie, I really should be getting
- 22:40Speaker 20: back to the cafe.
- 22:42Speaker 6: See you tomorrow.
- 22:43Speaker 4: Bye.
- 22:45Speaker 10: What was that all about.
- 22:47Speaker 8: Well, to be honest, it was about you me. Michelle
- 22:52Speaker 8: knows how discourage I've been about the whole Lemonade Challenge
- 22:56Speaker 8: project and how you've been too busy to help.
- 23:01Speaker 6: I know, but it's gotten me.
- 23:03Speaker 8: Thinking about what about whether our priorities are really the same.
- 23:08Speaker 10: You're doubting my priorities? Why?
- 23:12Speaker 6: Why?
- 23:12Speaker 8: Well, we both said God was our top priority in life, right.
- 23:16Speaker 10: Yeah, he should be first. If God isn't first, then
- 23:20Speaker 10: none of the other parts of our relationship will hold up.
- 23:22Speaker 8: And we each want to be with a person who
- 23:24Speaker 8: will help us stay close to God and not distract
- 23:27Speaker 8: us from him.
- 23:28Speaker 10: And that's what I want, Hattie. I want us both
- 23:31Speaker 10: to be helping the others stay on the path to
- 23:33Speaker 10: God's kingdom.
- 23:34Speaker 8: And we also talked about being the kind of person
- 23:36Speaker 8: who supported the other's work and goals.
- 23:39Speaker 10: But I do support your work and goals.
- 23:42Speaker 8: You say you support them, but your actions kind of
- 23:45Speaker 8: say something different. But I love how dedicated you've been
- 23:49Speaker 8: to being sports director this year, and I was happy
- 23:52Speaker 8: to help you do all the research on the rope's
- 23:54Speaker 8: course and make phone calls for you. But when I
- 23:57Speaker 8: really needed your support for my project, You're always too
- 24:01Speaker 8: busy with your own.
- 24:02Speaker 10: I guess I just felt like I needed to make
- 24:04Speaker 10: up for all my failures the first year worked here,
- 24:06Speaker 10: but it's.
- 24:07Speaker 8: Made me feel like I'll always come second to whatever
- 24:10Speaker 8: it is you're doing, Like maybe I can't trust you
- 24:14Speaker 8: to be there when.
- 24:14Speaker 11: I need you.
- 24:15Speaker 8: But Hattie, look, I need to get things ready for tomorrow,
- 24:19Speaker 8: and I think we both need to take another look
- 24:21Speaker 8: at the idea.
- 24:22Speaker 10: Of us another look.
- 24:25Speaker 8: See you later, James, see you later.
- 24:30Speaker 10: Oh no, I need to do something.
- 24:34Speaker 6: Oh no, Director Doug James.
- 24:36Speaker 7: Sure sounds sad, it doesn't he he does.
- 24:40Speaker 13: Hatty really seems to feel like she's without support.
- 24:43Speaker 6: I pray that James has a chance to figure things out.
- 24:46Speaker 13: You go, seems to be figuring things out.
- 24:48Speaker 10: That's hopeful.
- 24:49Speaker 7: It is the Bible verse James shared really exercised his.
- 24:53Speaker 13: Faith right two Timothy two fifteen. Do your best to
- 24:57Speaker 13: present yourself to God as one approved who does not
- 25:00Speaker 13: need to be ashamed, and who correctly handles the word
- 25:03Speaker 13: of truth.
- 25:04Speaker 7: A beautiful verse. Now, what about the camel costume? Is
- 25:08Speaker 7: it repairable?
- 25:10Speaker 13: Well, we'll find out about that next time.
