- 4:56Speaker 4: Lewis says, you are never too old. You are never
- 4:59Speaker 4: too old to set another goal or to dream a
- 5:02Speaker 4: new dream. You know, I was reading the other day
- 5:04Speaker 4: that the guy who founded Kentucky Fried Chicken did so
- 5:06Speaker 4: in his sixties. You know, there are countless stories of
- 5:10Speaker 4: people who decided to reinvent themselves when the world might
- 5:14Speaker 4: have been like, oh, you're that's kind of late in life.
- 5:16Speaker 4: But you know, what is it really? I don't know
- 5:20Speaker 4: that dreams have an expiration date because they come continuously,
- 5:24Speaker 4: so you're never too old. Remember that you're never too
- 5:28Speaker 4: old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.
- 5:31Speaker 4: Keep that in mind today and as you get into
- 5:33Speaker 4: the weekend. C. S. Lewis, if you need that, you
- 5:36Speaker 4: can find it. Checks out on Insta for more or
- 5:38Speaker 4: at the Toby and chillipage washfm dot com. It'll be
- 5:41Speaker 4: there for you and you can share it with somebody
- 5:43Speaker 4: you know that might need it too. And if you've
- 5:44Speaker 4: got some words that have inspired you would love to
- 5:46Speaker 4: read them, you know where to find us. Now, stay
- 5:49Speaker 4: with Toby and Chilly in the morning because coming up
- 5:50Speaker 4: in just minutes now.
- 5:51Speaker 5: I got to meet your dad and speak to him
- 5:53Speaker 5: briefly before he went back to Texas. Oh.
- 5:56Speaker 4: He mentioned that, yeah, saw you saw some old man
- 5:59Speaker 4: in my cars that way.
- 6:00Speaker 3: He's not that well he is anyway.
- 6:03Speaker 5: Yeah, he was worried about leaving you to continue to
- 6:07Speaker 5: recover on your own after your surgery, and he wanted
- 6:12Speaker 5: me to keep an eye on something.
- 6:13Speaker 3: And I want to see if you overcame this particular obstacle.
- 6:16Speaker 4: Okay, Yeah, what did my dad say to Chilly? Because
- 6:19Speaker 4: I really don't know find out next all right, spill
- 6:24Speaker 4: it ninety seven point one watch FM Toby and Chilly
- 6:27Speaker 4: in the morning. You and my dad talked, You said
- 6:29Speaker 4: so a few minutes ago. Penny for your thoughts. What
- 6:32Speaker 4: was that conversation all about.
- 6:34Speaker 5: I saw your dad when he came to pick you
- 6:35Speaker 5: up from work the other day before he went back
- 6:37Speaker 5: to Texas, because I know he was helping you out
- 6:39Speaker 5: after your third knee surgery, and he did say to me,
- 6:43Speaker 5: the one thing he's worried about is how you were
- 6:45Speaker 5: going to handle going to the infusion center every day
- 6:49Speaker 5: by yourself to get the antibiotics. Because he was very
- 6:53Speaker 5: helpful in getting like a wheelchair for you when you
- 6:56Speaker 5: got there so you didn't have to use your role
- 6:59Speaker 5: later as far.
- 7:00Speaker 3: And so now I want to know how have you
- 7:03Speaker 3: been handling that.
- 7:05Speaker 4: The first thing is is I stay here at the
- 7:07Speaker 4: office until about ten thirty. That's when I summon forth
- 7:11Speaker 4: an uber and they come and they pick me up
- 7:13Speaker 4: and they take me to Adventist by where I live
- 7:16Speaker 4: in Rockville. When I'm in the uber on the ride,
- 7:19Speaker 4: I call the infusion center because I've made friends with
- 7:21Speaker 4: all the nurses and the woman who answers the phone
- 7:23Speaker 4: and does the scheduling there and I say, Hi, I'm
- 7:26Speaker 4: on my way, but do you think that somebody from
- 7:28Speaker 4: transport could meet me at the front with a wheelchairs
- 7:31Speaker 4: so I can come in because it's a longer. It's
- 7:34Speaker 4: a long walk when you have no left knee mobility,
- 7:37Speaker 4: really and a role Later she said yes, and that's
- 7:41Speaker 4: kind of what I've been doing. Knock on wood. I'll
- 7:44Speaker 4: be able to continue to pull that off, but ask
- 7:47Speaker 4: for some help, and it's amazing how people are willing
- 7:50Speaker 4: to do so.
- 7:51Speaker 5: So you were really smart to call ahead and ask
- 7:53Speaker 5: for that, because I don't think he knew that that
- 7:54Speaker 5: was an option for you.
- 7:55Speaker 3: So you didn't Yeah, no, maybe you didn't even.
- 7:57Speaker 5: Know that was an option because you're like, well, I
- 7:59Speaker 5: guess I'll see if somebody could meet me with a
- 8:01Speaker 5: wheelchair out front.
- 8:02Speaker 3: I didn't you know me, I'm winging a prayer year.
- 8:05Speaker 2: Well, you still figured it out, though. That's great.
- 8:07Speaker 4: I figured it out because I went to my Chili
- 8:09Speaker 4: Amar playbook that's rubbed off on me over seven years,
- 8:12Speaker 4: and that's that. You know what, You've got to have
- 8:14Speaker 4: some degree of a plan. I know, you live your
- 8:17Speaker 4: life by the seat of your pants with your hair
- 8:19Speaker 4: on fire. But you can't do that all the time.
- 8:22Speaker 4: So plan that's listen one oh one from me, Toby
- 8:26Speaker 4: Nopp that I've learned from you, Chili Amar and you
- 8:29Speaker 4: have now attended a Ted Talk thing.
- 8:31Speaker 5: I'm glad it's working out for you and it's it's
- 8:33Speaker 5: great that there's somebody there that can get you that wheelchair.
- 8:36Speaker 5: I'm sure your dad's going to be very relieved that
- 8:39Speaker 5: you're handling it just fine.
- 8:40Speaker 4: Thank you, and thank you to my dad for everything
- 8:42Speaker 4: that he's done. And my significant other too, she's been
- 8:45Speaker 4: a huge help this whole time.

- 10:04Speaker 5: access to evidence or interviews that are needed to conduct

- 11:48Speaker 4: mind and tell five friends, so they know too and
- 11:51Speaker 4: stay with us because this story went viral this week.
- 11:53Speaker 4: It's one of those last stories we wanted to bring
- 11:55Speaker 4: up about the joy of the holiday season and enjoy
- 11:59Speaker 4: being just overflowing. There was a flight attendant who got
- 12:04Speaker 4: something really interesting in a barf bag while she was working.
- 12:09Speaker 4: It turned out it was a gift from some people
- 12:12Speaker 4: on the plane. Find out what happened, and we want
- 12:16Speaker 4: to pick your brain on this as well, coming up
- 12:19Speaker 4: random acts of kindness. They don't seem to be a
- 12:23Speaker 4: thing of the past. It's ninety seven point one while
- 12:26Speaker 4: she FM it's the biggest tip you've ever given somebody
- 12:28Speaker 4: and why. There was a story that made the rounds
- 12:31Speaker 4: this week. This one passenger on a plane handed a
- 12:34Speaker 4: barf bag to the fight attendant. The flight attendant thought
- 12:36Speaker 4: it was well, you know, trash or you know. Well,
- 12:39Speaker 4: it turns out when she opens it up, it was
- 12:41Speaker 4: stuffed with cash two.
- 12:43Speaker 3: Hundred and eight dollars.
- 12:44Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 12:44Speaker 3: A bunch of people.
- 12:46Speaker 5: Actually, almost every passenger contributed to the tip, and she
- 12:48Speaker 5: said it came at a great time because she was
- 12:50Speaker 5: kind of going through a rough thing. Now we don't
- 12:52Speaker 5: know all the details as to whether the passengers knew
- 12:55Speaker 5: about her situation. But it's such a great story because
- 12:59Speaker 5: it is rare that somebody gets such a generous tip.
- 13:03Speaker 4: Maybe it was the holiday spirit. I don't know, but
- 13:06Speaker 4: it's an awesome story and you can read it. We've
- 13:09Speaker 4: posted it on our website. But it begs the question,
- 13:12Speaker 4: biggest tip you've ever given somebody? Chiliamar and why?
- 13:15Speaker 5: I was in a desperate situation many years ago when
- 13:18Speaker 5: we had a fridge delivered and for whatever reason, they
- 13:22Speaker 5: were only just dropping it off on the driveway.
- 13:25Speaker 3: Oh no, bueno. And did you have a house like
- 13:27Speaker 3: where you had to take the steps?
- 13:28Speaker 5: Oh yeah, two lights the stairs, And I said, guys, please,
- 13:32Speaker 5: I beg you. I will pay you cash. Please carry
- 13:36Speaker 5: this inside. There's no way I can handle this by myself.
- 13:39Speaker 3: See that's a good reason. Oh hell yeah, big you
- 13:42Speaker 3: guys are saving me by doing this. So I was
- 13:45Speaker 3: happily giving them that tip. What about what?
- 13:47Speaker 4: I'm ashamed Chili to say that I've tipped the Acella
- 13:50Speaker 4: first Class attendance on Amtrak. This one ride in with
- 13:54Speaker 4: a colleague from work, I tipped them one hundred bucks
- 13:56Speaker 4: just to make sure I never heard no no for
- 13:59Speaker 4: what dreams food. The meals, by the way, they're all free.
- 14:03Speaker 4: When you're in a cella first christ you play a
- 14:05Speaker 4: high ris. That's good to know, okay, yeah, right, So
- 14:08Speaker 4: if you enjoy the Amtrak lunches and they're very good,
- 14:11Speaker 4: jose Andres did the menu that year or whatever, and
- 14:14Speaker 4: you know, the beverages were adult beverages. I don't throw
- 14:17Speaker 4: down quite like that anymore. But now I'm feeling guilt
- 14:21Speaker 4: and shame. But you know what, they didn't feel ashamed.
- 14:24Speaker 4: They felt great because that guy was on us like
- 14:27Speaker 4: white on rice.
- 14:28Speaker 5: I'm sure anybody who serves drinks is very happy when
- 14:31Speaker 5: they're tip generous.
- 14:32Speaker 3: Yeah, here's one.
- 14:32Speaker 4: Hundred bucks eight six six nine two seven forty three
- 14:35Speaker 4: sixty one. I forget his name, but he was awesome.
- 14:38Speaker 4: You also tap the talk back microphone too. Tell us
- 14:40Speaker 4: about the biggest tip you've ever given someone and why
- 14:44Speaker 4: you did it. We have got to hear your story
- 14:46Speaker 4: and we will come up still being chilly in the
- 14:48Speaker 4: morning continues. So call eight six six nine two seven
- 14:50Speaker 4: forty three sixty one now and join the conversation, or
- 14:53Speaker 4: tap the talk back microphone if you're signed in listening
- 14:56Speaker 4: to us on your iHeart Apple Talk Next, well, I
- 15:00Speaker 4: had this story that was making the rounds. We were
- 15:03Speaker 4: talking about it a few minutes ago. What's the biggest
- 15:05Speaker 4: tip you've ever left?
- 15:07Speaker 3: And why?
- 15:08Speaker 4: Toby and Silly in the morning ninety seven point one
- 15:10Speaker 4: watch FM and eight sixty six nine two seven forty
- 15:13Speaker 4: three sixty one or tap the talk back microphone to
- 15:16Speaker 4: jump into the conversation.
- 15:17Speaker 5: The flight attendant received a very generous over two hundred
- 15:21Speaker 5: dollars tip from all the passengers that was on this flight.
- 15:24Speaker 5: So that was a very heartwarming story, and it got
- 15:26Speaker 5: us wondering when was the last time you left a
- 15:29Speaker 5: huge tip.
- 15:29Speaker 4: We're going to go down to next to the cathedral.
- 15:32Speaker 4: Look at that downtown in Cleveland Park?
- 15:35Speaker 3: Is that right? I hope? So, Rod, take it away.
- 15:38Speaker 3: I once left a fifty percent tip on a bill.
- 15:40Speaker 2: The waiter was just running all over the place and
- 15:42Speaker 2: it looked.
- 15:42Speaker 5: Like he was handling way more than his share. That night,
- 15:45Speaker 5: I felt super bad for him.
- 15:47Speaker 3: He was so fraggled.
- 15:49Speaker 2: I felt I had to help him out.
- 15:50Speaker 5: You know, that's really great that you noticed that he
- 15:53Speaker 5: was definitely frazzled and needed a little pick me up.
- 15:56Speaker 4: Yeah, Rod, that's awesome, Like I hope that if I
- 15:58Speaker 4: ever have to wait tables, that I can get people
- 16:00Speaker 4: like you to wait on all the time, because I'm
- 16:03Speaker 4: always frazzled. Thanks for jumping in this morning at eight
- 16:06Speaker 4: six six nine two seven forty three sixty one, Lacy,
- 16:09Speaker 4: good morning, and thanks for letting us hang in your
- 16:12Speaker 4: life as you get ready to start your day over

- 22:00Speaker 4: feel good Friday story.
- 22:02Speaker 5: You know that last second miss that ended the Ravens season, Well,
- 22:06Speaker 5: yes that was unfortunate, but it turned heartbreak into hope.
- 22:11Speaker 5: We've got more on that in just a few.
- 22:14Speaker 4: Ah Friday in the nation's capital and the region. It's
- 22:18Speaker 4: ninety seven point one wash FM and from FedEx Field
- 22:22Speaker 4: to the Ravens M and T Banks Stadium. Football fans
- 22:26Speaker 4: are kind of like humbug right now because or who
- 22:29Speaker 4: hum right now? I should say, because we're post Christmas,
- 22:32Speaker 4: because neither one of our teams are doing anything in
- 22:35Speaker 4: the playoffs that start this weekend. If you saw it,
- 22:38Speaker 4: it was very dramatic, a winner take all match up
- 22:40Speaker 4: the Ravens the Steelers. The new kicker, the rookie Tyler Loop,
- 22:44Speaker 4: stepped up. It was a forty four yard field go
- 22:47Speaker 4: kick would have won the game. As the clock was
- 22:49Speaker 4: about to expire, he could have nailed it and sent
- 22:53Speaker 4: the Ravens into the playoffs this weekend, but no, the
- 22:57Speaker 4: ball went wide right and the Ravens season ended in heartbreak.
- 23:03Speaker 4: But something remarkable began to happen off the field, and
- 23:07Speaker 4: it's something that we think will make you feel good
- 23:09Speaker 4: on this Friday.
- 23:10Speaker 5: So instead of you know, being really frustrated fans from
- 23:13Speaker 5: both sides, they looked as a chance to turn a
- 23:16Speaker 5: disappointment into something positive. And I don't know if you
- 23:19Speaker 5: heard this, but they learned that Loop had recently taken
- 23:23Speaker 5: part in a local food drive and had supported the
- 23:26Speaker 5: John Mulholland Family Foundation, and it's a nonprofit that has
- 23:30Speaker 5: food pantries serving families all across the DC areas. So
- 23:34Speaker 5: the Steelers fans symbolically started donating like twenty six dollars
- 23:38Speaker 5: in twenty four cents because the final score was twenty
- 23:41Speaker 5: six twenty four, And then the Ravens fans started donating
- 23:45Speaker 5: to the charity with either the amount that was tied
- 23:48Speaker 5: to Loop's jersey number or his season statistics. Either way,
- 23:53Speaker 5: I mean, that is really cool thing for both sides
- 23:56Speaker 5: to do.
- 23:56Speaker 4: And check this out because this will make you feel
- 23:58Speaker 4: even better on a Friday. Twenty four hours later, the
- 24:01Speaker 4: foundation said, guys, we have raised more than six thousand
- 24:05Speaker 4: dollars through these donations.
- 24:07Speaker 3: That's awesome and that's a boost.
- 24:09Speaker 4: You know, when it comes to feeding people food pantries,
- 24:12Speaker 4: money is a thing, and that can help support food
- 24:15Speaker 4: pantries for an entire month. And while Tyler Lup was crushed,
- 24:18Speaker 4: the sadness overwhelming, you'd see it written all over them.
- 24:21Speaker 4: At the end of the game, something really great happened.
- 24:25Speaker 4: A reminder of how when you come together as a
- 24:27Speaker 4: community with compassion and humanity, you can rise above rivalry.
- 24:32Speaker 4: And we thought this story might just make you feel
- 24:34Speaker 4: good on a Friday.
- 24:36Speaker 5: You could read more on the Toby and Chili page
- 24:38Speaker 5: at washfm dot com and coming up we'll update you
- 24:41Speaker 5: on all the news headlines with Toby and Chili's top story.
- 24:45Speaker 4: Why don't you run in and gravin espresso Drake now
- 24:47Speaker 4: knowing that you're gonna have a lot of time to
- 24:49Speaker 4: enjoy it when you listen to ninety seven point one WASHEFM.

- 24:55Speaker 5: commercial free music.

- 24:59Speaker 3: Thanks for letting us be in your world.
- 25:02Speaker 1: Ninety seven point one WASHFM, Washington, an iHeartRadio station, coming
- 25:08Speaker 1: up on Top Stories, Top of the Hour.
- 25:10Speaker 5: The House has approved an extension of Obamacare tax credits.
- 25:13Speaker 5: We've got details on that story and more on the
- 25:16Speaker 5: way on ninety seven point one Wash FM with Toby
- 25:19Speaker 5: and Chili.
- 25:20Speaker 2: In the morning, Top Stories, Top of the Hour.
- 25:25Speaker 5: The House has approved an extension of Obamacare tax credits,
- 25:28Speaker 5: with seventeen Republicans joining all Democrats in support. So the bill,
- 25:33Speaker 5: which continues the COVID enhanced ACA subsidies, now moves to
- 25:36Speaker 5: the Senate. The FBI has taken full control of the
- 25:39Speaker 5: investigation into the deadly shooting of a woman buying ice
- 25:43Speaker 5: agent in Minnesota. State authorities say they no longer have
- 25:46Speaker 5: access to evidence or interviews that are needed to conduct
- 25:49Speaker 5: an independent review. Meanwhile, federal immigration officers in Portland, Oregon,
- 25:56Speaker 5: shot and wounded two people during a traffic stop. Yesterday,
- 26:00Speaker 5: parents and community members packed Montgomery County school Board meeting
- 26:04Speaker 5: to protest a proposal that would close Wooton High School
- 26:09Speaker 5: and shift students to a new school in Gaithersburg. Calling
- 26:13Speaker 5: the plan rushed and unfair, school officials said no final
- 26:17Speaker 5: decision has been made, and that feedback is still being considered.
- 26:22Speaker 5: A new ballroom in the east wing of the White
- 26:24Speaker 5: House may not be the only change that's coming to
- 26:27Speaker 5: the historic building. White House is also reportedly considering a
- 26:31Speaker 5: one floor west wing addition to restore cemetery, along with
- 26:36Speaker 5: possible updates to the visitor's entrance at Lafayette Park. Washington
- 26:41Speaker 5: Commander's cornerback Marshawn Latimore was arrested in Cleveland on weapons
- 26:46Speaker 5: charges after police stopped the vehicle he was in for
- 26:48Speaker 5: traffic violations and say that he didn't disclose that there
- 26:51Speaker 5: was a firearm in the car.
- 26:52Speaker 3: He was booked and later released.
- 26:55Speaker 5: And if you got a tattoo, it could affect your
- 26:58Speaker 5: immune system more than you realize, guy. Studies show that
- 27:01Speaker 5: tiny particles from tattoo ink travel to lymph nodes and
- 27:06Speaker 5: can trigger long term inflammation, even altering how your body
- 27:10Speaker 5: responds to vaccines. Forecast for today rain likely this afternoon.
- 27:15Speaker 5: High's around fifty five Right now thirty nine and Sterling.
- 27:18Speaker 4: Dot forget to get the news every hour when you
- 27:21Speaker 4: wake up with us top story is at the top
- 27:23Speaker 4: of the hour. Toby and Chilly in the Morning, ninety
- 27:24Speaker 4: seven point one wash CHFM. This is a very rare
- 27:28Speaker 4: and dynamic year twenty twenty six, especially if you believe
- 27:32Speaker 4: in the Chinese zodiac. Do you know why, because this
- 27:35Speaker 4: is the year of the fire Horse. What does this mean? Well,
- 27:40Speaker 4: Chili brought this up yesterday. It's fascinating. You've got to
- 27:44Speaker 4: hear this next and I'll move ninety seven point one
- 27:47Speaker 4: wash CHEFM with Toby and Chili in the morning. The
- 27:50Speaker 4: Year of the fire Horse. It's rare, it's dynamic, it's
- 27:54Speaker 4: twenty twenty six, but we're actually kind of an advance
- 27:57Speaker 4: of it. I found out because it starts on February.
- 28:00Speaker 3: That's right.
- 28:01Speaker 5: And I didn't even know anything about this until my
- 28:03Speaker 5: algorithm on social media started showing me people who are
- 28:06Speaker 5: very glad that the snake is gone and the fire
- 28:09Speaker 5: horse is getting here. So I did a little digging
- 28:12Speaker 5: and if you're curious, apparently the fire horse comes around
- 28:15Speaker 5: once every sixty years, so it's been a minute and
- 28:19Speaker 5: it symbolizes freedom, confidence and fast movement, and the fire
- 28:24Speaker 5: element cranks all.
- 28:26Speaker 3: Of that way up.
- 28:27Speaker 5: So it's supposed to be a year associated with bold energy,
- 28:30Speaker 5: big momentum and taking risks.
- 28:32Speaker 4: Yes, intense energy, transformation, independence, and cultural significance are the characteristics.
- 28:39Speaker 4: And to your point, I can't wait to see what
- 28:42Speaker 4: Bold moves the stars and the moon.
- 28:46Speaker 5: Okay, does this really impact your mindset in any way,
- 28:50Speaker 5: shape or form this astrology stuff, because now that you
- 28:53Speaker 5: know that we're in the fire horse, are you going
- 28:56Speaker 5: to be looking through your decisions through the lens of
- 28:59Speaker 5: a fire Well.
- 29:01Speaker 4: First of all, I believe in all sorts of things
- 29:03Speaker 4: that can influence you spiritually.
- 29:04Speaker 3: Okay, you know what I mean, I really do. I come.
- 29:06Speaker 4: I'm kind of a humanist like Thomas Jefferson that way.
- 29:09Speaker 4: In reality, I really like the fact that cross there
- 29:12Speaker 4: in Rhode Island they make those pins. Oh yeah, and
- 29:15Speaker 4: I collect pins and they always honor the Chinese zodiac
- 29:19Speaker 4: with special pins. And over Christmas, I thought that I
- 29:22Speaker 4: might want to be Santa Claus for myself.
- 29:24Speaker 3: And yet the fire horse pen.
- 29:28Speaker 5: Okay, so you're gonna be using your fire horse cross
- 29:30Speaker 5: pen in hopes of making bold decisions this year?
- 29:33Speaker 3: Well, chilly, let me say this.
- 29:34Speaker 4: The fact that you even brought it up and you
- 29:36Speaker 4: were like wow about this tells me that it resonated.
- 29:39Speaker 4: So as we get into the year of the fire Horse.
- 29:41Speaker 4: I'm looking forward to seeing what it is that transforms
- 29:44Speaker 4: in you. Ninety seven point one Wash FM, Toby and

- 30:01Speaker 3: You know, nineties, like the decade that brought us this song.
- 30:04Speaker 3: It'sa ma oo silly.

- 31:09Speaker 4: know what, You're not too old to set a new
- 31:12Speaker 4: goal or to dream something brand new. So don't stop dreaming.
- 31:16Speaker 4: Have an incredible weekend and listen to Jinny Chase, she says.
- 31:20Speaker 2: What more.
