- 2:03Trisha Smith: With the most, the mostly ghostly, Ghost Coast, Ginger Whiskey with Fever Tree Ginger Ale. It is nice. It's so easy. And it's doesn't taste like, I'm having a an adult beverage.
- 2:21Diane Black: No
- 2:21Trisha Smith: Like I'm drinking some kind of gingery goodness.
- 2:24Diane Black: Soda
- 2:24Trisha Smith: Yeah, yeah, straight up. Ginger Ale.
- 2:26Leyla Zmeskal: I really like that Ghost Coast Ginger Whiskey.
- 2:28Leyla Zmeskal: It's really good.
- 2:29Trisha Smith: I do too, I gotta find someplace. You know, I gotta go back to Savannah.
- 2:33Diane Black: Yup
- 2:35Leyla Zmeskal: Twist my arm.
- 2:36Trisha Smith: I think you said that last time. I'm still twistin.
- 2:39Leyla Zmeskal: Let's go, before I get a job.
- 2:45Diane Black: Twist quickly twist.
- 2:48Trisha Smith: What about you Leyla, yours looks yummy.
- 2:51Leyla Zmeskal: Um, I am drinking Hammock Bay Coconut Rum, with the Bai Pineapple Coconut.
- 3:01Trisha Smith: Oh, it's good.
- 3:02Leyla Zmeskal: Yeah, it's really good.
- 3:04Trisha Smith: That's similar to what we made.
- 3:07Leyla Zmeskal: Summer in a glass.
- 3:08Trisha Smith: Yes. Yes. So good.
- 3:08Trisha Smith: But not the frozen. Doesn't taste like a pina colada?
- 3:15Leyla Zmeskal: Ah
- 3:15Trisha Smith: Kind of?
- 3:16Leyla Zmeskal: I don't know.
- 3:16Leyla Zmeskal: Here. Try it.
- 3:17Trisha Smith: Okay. I'm a taste it.
- 3:18Leyla Zmeskal: Alright you get a first hand account, folks.
- 3:22Trisha Smith: Yes, it tastes like a pina coloda.
- 3:24Leyla Zmeskal: Yeah
- 3:25Trisha Smith: It's very tasty.
- 3:27Leyla Zmeskal: Got that, you know, pineapple, coconut.
- 3:29Trisha Smith: It's not all thick and frozen, and yeah, and it's just reall good and light.
- 3:33Leyla Zmeskal: And that hammock Bay actually has natural coconut flavors and into so I think that's,
- 3:40Trisha Smith: I love coconut.
- 3:41Leyla Zmeskal: I do too.
- 3:42Trisha Smith: Flavored stuff. So
- 3:45Diane Black: I usually for summer,
- 3:47Trisha Smith: Right? Right. It just makes you think of vacation.
- 3:52Leyla Zmeskal: I'm ready
- 3:53Diane Black: Wherever you are.
- 3:54Trisha Smith: Right
- 3:54Diane Black: Just have some coconut, instant vacation.
- 3:57Trisha Smith: I try to tell myself if I vacation too often, then it doesn't really feel like vacation anymore. But it's a lie. Because I just do what wehn I'm done with one vacation, I'm ready to go again. And you know it still hasn't worn off like every time I leave the house with my bag in hand. I'm like, vacation.
- 4:19Leyla Zmeskal: What do you drinking?
- 4:20Diane Black: I am drinking the, how do you say it, B a i?
- 4:24Leyla Zmeskal: Bai
- 4:25Diane Black: Bai, I'm drinking Bai.
- 4:29Leyla Zmeskal: Not Like bye
- 4:30Diane Black: Bye, I'm going on vacation. I'm drinking the Bai Coconut water.
- 4:38Leyla Zmeskal: Pineapple.
- 4:38Leyla Zmeskal: Coconut pineapple.
- 4:40Diane Black: Yeah, coconut pineapple. mixed with our favorite,
- 4:46Trisha Smith: City Gates!
- 4:47Leyla Zmeskal: City Gates!
- 4:47Diane Black: City Gates Distillary from St. Augustine their pineapple rum.
- 4:52Trisha Smith: No, I think you did the tropical.
- 4:53Diane Black: I did, you are,
- 4:56Leyla Zmeskal: You are correct
- 4:57Diane Black: You are paying attention and you are right, good catch.
- 5:01Trisha Smith: I know we like the pineapple rum but you you mixed it up a little bit different this time.
- 5:06Diane Black: With the tropical, which is, which is my personal favorite.
- 5:10Leyla Zmeskal: You like the tropical?
- 5:11Diane Black: I do, with the champagne.
- 5:13Leyla Zmeskal: Okay
- 5:13Trisha Smith: Ah
- 5:14Leyla Zmeskal: That was really good.
- 5:15Diane Black: Yeah, but mixing it with this coconut bye is awesome, very tasty, along the lines of that pina colada,
- 5:26Trisha Smith: Yes
- 5:27Diane Black: It's, it's a little sweeter than than my liking but it is a tasty summer delicious cock-tail.
- 5:35Trisha Smith: Wheeze, Sorry you just,
- 5:42Diane Black: What did I say?
- 5:43Trisha Smith: You just really emphasized.
- 5:48Diane Black: Which part?
- 5:49Leyla Zmeskal: Cock
- 5:51Trisha Smith: Tail
- 5:55Diane Black: Yes
- 5:56Leyla Zmeskal: City Gates needs to kind of you know, recognize that we're, we're really digging their stuff man.
- 6:03Diane Black: We do! For reals!
- 6:05Leyla Zmeskal: I'm think we should be down for a free bottle or something.
- 6:08Diane Black: Absolutely. I don't even think they know who we are.
- 6:11Leyla Zmeskal: Probably don't
- 6:11Trisha Smith: They do give us a free bottle every time we go and buy five.
- 6:18Leyla Zmeskal: Um, yeah, that has happened.
- 6:19Diane Black: Yes. So if you are ever in St. Augustine definitely go by the City Gate Distillery because they do a taste testing.
- 6:27Diane Black: And by the time from the start to the end to the finish. You're feeling pretty good and you'll buy shit that you were like, why did I buy this later?
- 6:37Trisha Smith: Not me!
- 6:38Leyla Zmeskal: Not me!
- 6:39Diane Black: Me, that's what I did, I was, I bought that mixer and I'm like, What? When did I buy this and why did I buy it?
- 6:44Leyla Zmeskal: Because you bought it for, because you liked it.
- 6:47Trisha Smith: You don't like it now?
- 6:48Diane Black: I don't like mixers. I'm a hard, fast, early type of girl. I'm like straight up man. Give me the hardcore liquor.
- 6:55Trisha Smith: But
- 6:57Diane Black: Don't like mixers.
- 6:59Trisha Smith: Give me the hardcore,
- 7:02Leyla Zmeskal: I'm a hardcore, fast, upfront kind of girl.
- 7:05Diane Black: I am, later I was like why did I buy this mix? It is delicious. It's the apple pie tasting mixer. right No
- 7:11Trisha Smith: Oh, never mind then. I thought you bought the Right, but you also bought the white lightning?
- 7:15Trisha Smith: Didn't you buy the plain?
- 7:15Trisha Smith: plain moonshine.
- 7:19Leyla Zmeskal: I thought you bought something.
- 7:21Diane Black: I bought the moonshine, but it was it was spicy, fally flavor.
- 7:27Leyla Zmeskal: I thought that was the mixer was the spicy fally flavor And super fally
- 7:30Diane Black: They both are so together, it's like, super s eet. It's like,
- 7:34Trisha Smith: That's a lot.
- 7:36Diane Black: Yeah, it's like an inside of a pecan pie. Which is delicious. But for a drink. It's just for me because I don't like sweet drinks. But my point with all that is, is go to the tasting. It's a good time.
- 7:52Leyla Zmeskal: And get that free bottle and give it to us.
- 7:59Trisha Smith: We plug them like they pay us.
- 8:01Diane Black: I know
- 8:02Leyla Zmeskal: But they don't.
- 8:02Leyla Zmeskal: It's just because we really like their stuff.
- 8:05Diane Black: So great.
- 8:05Trisha Smith: Right? Hey, you know, when we like something we latch on hard?
- 8:11Diane Black: Yeah, we're committed.
- 8:14Trisha Smith: Yeah
- 8:14Diane Black: So what are we doing today?
- 8:16Leyla Zmeskal: I think today we're gonna, latch on, to
- 8:27Trisha Smith: How does she go from drinking a cocktail, to
- 8:27Diane Black: Wheeze laughing like an eighty year old man with emphysema?
- 8:35Leyla Zmeskal: I was like does someone need to pound on her back to make sure she's okay.
- 8:41Trisha Smith: Do you need some oxygen? Little pumps on the end that goes whoo, whoo, whoo?
- 8:50Diane Black: I do,that just sounded, latch on, I don't know.
- 8:57Diane Black: I had a vision. It was,.
- 9:02Leyla Zmeskal: Okay, do tell, what was the vision?
- 9:05Trisha Smith: I don't know if I want to know.
- 9:07Leyla Zmeskal: Oh, I want to know. I'm sure our listeners want to, what was the vision?
- 9:10Diane Black: No, It was weird.
- 9:13Leyla Zmeskal: Coming from you, Diane. No.
- 9:16Diane Black: That's not gonna say, it was weird. It was inappropriate. So,
- 9:20Leyla Zmeskal: Which is perfect.
- 9:21Diane Black: But you're talking to someone who doesn't have nipples, so like, I was like, latch on, and I was like ok.
- 9:32Trisha Smith: Okay
- 9:32Leyla Zmeskal: All right
- 9:33Diane Black: See, that's what I mean.
- 9:33Trisha Smith: Yeah, that may have been TMI.
- 9:35Diane Black: You don't wanna know.
- 9:37Leyla Zmeskal: People are like she dosen't have nipples? Did I just hear that correctly?
- 9:43Diane Black: Ya, did.
- 9:46Leyla Zmeskal: People are like, holy crap, season two is really different.
- 9:51Trisha Smith: That's a weird one.
- 9:54Leyla Zmeskal: Now, right now what popped into my brain, was the movie with, milking the cat.
- 9:57Leyla Zmeskal: You can milk anything with nipples.
- 10:08Trisha Smith: Oh shit
- 10:10Leyla Zmeskal: I think we've really just gone off the deep end just now.
- 10:13Leyla Zmeskal: All right, all right back to latching,
- 10:13Trisha Smith: Right
- 10:17Diane Black: What are we doing?
- 10:19Trisha Smith: So far off topic.
- 10:23Leyla Zmeskal: I think we're gonna, today. I start, I came across something that I was watching for a while it was BuzzFeed,
- 10:33Trisha Smith: Unsolved
- 10:34Leyla Zmeskal: Unsolved Supernatural, and I finished it.
- 10:37Leyla Zmeskal: They had, what, six seasons?
- 10:39Trisha Smith: Six seasons
- 10:40Leyla Zmeskal: And I loved it so much that I watched it. And I one day we were all talking after I get together. And I was like, Hey, have you guys watch this? and Trish is like, I love that show. And so Diane has never seen it. Oh, so she started watching it. So we're going to talk about the show itself.
- 10:56Trisha Smith: Yeah, some of the episodes that we've seen on that show, because I love that they're short. They're
- 11:01Leyla Zmeskal: Yeah
- 11:01Diane Black: Yes
- 11:02Trisha Smith: Just my attention span,
- 11:04Diane Black: Right
- 11:04Trisha Smith: You know, like 15 to 30 minutes. No more. And because you after about 30 minutes, I'm like,
- 11:12Leyla Zmeskal: Unless you're listening to us.
- 11:14Trisha Smith: Yeah, right.
- 11:15Diane Black: Yes!
- 11:16Leyla Zmeskal: Let me just preface that.
- 11:20Trisha Smith: Exactly, exactly.
- 11:24Trisha Smith: But yeah, we started talking about the different episodes.
- 11:29Trisha Smith: And Diane's like, I gotta, I gotta watch that. And you did.
- 11:33Trisha Smith: So what did you think?
- 11:34Diane Black: Oh my gosh, my husband and I watched it together and he too does not have a tremendous attention span for lengthy things is like and he loved it. We laughed so hard.
- 11:47Diane Black: We loved Ryan and Shane. I am totally team Ryan. Totally 100.
- 11:55Leyla Zmeskal: You were a boo ghera.
- 11:57Diane Black: Uh huh, and we just thought it was great. The stories, the personalities, their banter.
- 12:05Leyla Zmeskal: Oh, it's funny.
- 12:07Trisha Smith: Kind of made me think of some people I know.
- 12:10Diane Black: Yeah
- 12:12Leyla Zmeskal: Yeah
- 12:13Trisha Smith: Especially because I'm on the opposite end.
- 12:17Diane Black: Yeah, you're Shane.
- 12:18Leyla Zmeskal: You're a Shaniac.
- 12:18Trisha Smith: I love that he does not buy into all of the knocking and the lights in the dark is like they is him.
- 12:29Leyla Zmeskal: He's like, oh, you're that, huh?
- 12:30Trisha Smith: Yeah
- 12:31Leyla Zmeskal: What do you think about that Ryan?
- 12:34Trisha Smith: He doesn't even care. He's like, it's nothing.
- 12:37Leyla Zmeskal: I mean, there have been a couple episodes where he seems to be like,
- 12:41Trisha Smith: Holy shit.
- 12:42Diane Black: Yeah, for sure.
- 12:44Leyla Zmeskal: I think, even though he's, he's the skeptic. I think there has been a couple locations that and a couple instances, instances in those locations that he's been like, oh, did you hear that? That was a little weird.
- 12:58Trisha Smith: Right
- 12:58Leyla Zmeskal: Not very often.
- 12:59Diane Black: No, slightly unnerved.
- 13:01Trisha Smith: Right. But yeah, definitely see that change. And I feel like that a lot. I mean, there's places we go where I feel like oh, but then immediately when we leave, I try to figure out ways,
- 13:14Leyla Zmeskal: That you can debunk it.
- 13:15Trisha Smith: Right, right.
- 13:16Diane Black: Yeah
- 13:17Trisha Smith: So I don't know.
- 13:17Trisha Smith: It's it's a pretty cool show. As far as the, the amount of places they've that they've gone to,
- 13:25Leyla Zmeskal: They've gone to a lot of places,
- 13:26Trisha Smith: Right
- 13:27Leyla Zmeskal: I think the very first episode was episode, season one, episode one, is where they had a different guy,
- 13:33Diane Black: Yeah!
- 13:34Leyla Zmeskal: Which was the same guy that has been on the first couple episodes of BuzzFeed Unsolved, True Crime.
- 13:42Trisha Smith: Okay
- 13:43Leyla Zmeskal: So he was on,
- 13:43Diane Black: I was wondering where he went,
- 13:44Leyla Zmeskal: Yeah. And then all of a sudden, I think Shane came in and they both kind of synced up to where Shane did also the supernatural, and the true crime one. I like Shane, I think his dynamic is really good on the show. I especially love when they're opening each every show. And Ryan's talking about what they're going to do on the show. And they say, and our ongoing quest, to see if ghosts are real. And then you, they pan to Shane, and he's got the straight face and
- 14:13Trisha Smith: Right
- 14:14Leyla Zmeskal: The subtle head nod back and forth. Like, like no, like, god that's funny to be me, just ,
- 14:20Diane Black: Yeah
- 14:20Leyla Zmeskal: subtlety is funny.
- 14:21Trisha Smith: Right, right.
- 14:23Leyla Zmeskal: I think one of the most, I think, there's so many episodes, that kind of struck out,
- 14:29Trisha Smith: So we decided we were going to pick like our top three favorites. So starting from the bottom of the list.
- 14:37Leyla Zmeskal: Okay
- 14:38Trisha Smith: Okay, number three.
- 14:39Leyla Zmeskal: Number three
- 14:40Trisha Smith: For you, Leyla, what's number three for you?
- 14:43Leyla Zmeskal: Ummm Shit.
- 14:45Diane Black: Didn't see that one.
- 14:46Leyla Zmeskal: I don't think they did that one. Maybe the one about UFOs.
- 14:51Diane Black: Yeah, ditto, wasn't my jam.
- 14:55Trisha Smith: Yeah
- 14:55Leyla Zmeskal: Yeah,
- 14:56Trisha Smith: Right
- 14:56Diane Black: I would have to say that. Even though Shane believes more in UFOs than anything else,
- 15:02Trisha Smith: That's me too!
- 15:02Diane Black: I would have to say the UFO one I was kind of like,
- 15:05Trisha Smith: Which that's why I feel like number three on my list is the Roswell. It was season three, episode six, Roswell's Bizarre UFO Crash. And the only reason that I picked that for three is because we went to Roswell a few summers ago, we were driving cross country and we stopped and they have a UFO museum.
- 15:32Leyla Zmeskal: Of course they do.
- 15:33Trisha Smith: Right. But, the amount of information that they have in there, where they're talking about the case, and the
- 15:39Leyla Zmeskal: With the fighter pilots.
- 15:42Leyla Zmeskal: evidence that they had and different sightings and claims and firsthand accounts. It's very compelling. Like you can't read it and think, I mean, it's, it's hard to just say, that can't be because they have actual proof. And then of course, you know, now they're starting to release files on UFO
- 16:11Trisha Smith: Right, and you've said in the past, and I've completely agreed with what you said,
- 16:18Leyla Zmeskal: Be such a waste of space if we're the only things out there.
- 16:20Trisha Smith: Exactly, exactly
- 16:22Diane Black: Not only that how egotistic, how arrogant everythi
- 16:27Leyla Zmeskal: That's a movie quote, and I just thought that g, was one of the best movie quotes ever. That's a trivia,
- 16:33Diane Black: If you know message us,
- 16:36Trisha Smith: Cuz I don't know it. Only Leyla knows.
- 16:39Diane Black: I absolutely believe in and UFOs and other life forces,
- 16:44Trisha Smith: Really?
- 16:45Diane Black: I do. I do. But I didn't. I didn't like really enjoy that episode. I was like, Meh,
- 16:54Leyla Zmeskal: There was another episode about aliens and it was the
- 16:58Trisha Smith: Area 51?
- 16:59Leyla Zmeskal: No, I think it was in season two,
- 17:01Trisha Smith: Men In Black?
- 17:02Diane Black: Oh, Men in Black!
- 17:05Leyla Zmeskal: That was season one, Men in Black was in season one. This was in season two. And it was the,
- 17:12Trisha Smith: Let me look,
- 17:13Leyla Zmeskal: It was uh, the guy in the woods. Ozzy Osborne did a song, about the guy in the woods.
- 17:21Trisha Smith: Well, season two has the real life creepy cases of ancient aliens. Maybe? No,
- 17:29Leyla Zmeskal: Maybe?
- 17:30Trisha Smith: There was all also,
- 17:32Leyla Zmeskal: That might be it because they might have talked about that,
- 17:34Trisha Smith: Season three had three bizarre cases of alien abduction.
- 17:37Leyla Zmeskal: Oh that's it! And that's like t e in the very early in season t
- 17:38Trisha Smith: See now ree.
- 17:42Trisha Smith: Right
- 17:43Leyla Zmeskal: Yeah, I think that was it. That was it.
- 17:45Trisha Smith: Alien abductions is a whole other topic for me though.
- 17:49Leyla Zmeskal: Yeah. What was that guy's name?
- 17:51Trisha Smith: I don't know. But I know people talk about all the time. But to me, it's like possessions. You know, I feel like they're they're far and few between if they've happened at all, like, I just feel like,
- 18:08Diane Black: Yeah
- 18:08Trisha Smith: Why? I mean, unless they're experiment. I could understand aliens wanting to experiment on some of these people in this world. But it's like, What a waste of time. You know, if you're gonna, if you're going to experiment on somebody and try to find out what's going once you pick the smartest person on earth to abduct to do that kind of research. Why would you pick some hillbilly in Alaska? I don't know. You know what I mean?
- 18:38Diane Black: Easy access?
- 18:39Trisha Smith: Maybe that's it.
- 18:40Diane Black: Yeah
- 18:41Leyla Zmeskal: It was the Travis Walton story.
- 18:43Trisha Smith: Okay, tell me again with the Travis Walton story.
- 18:46Diane Black: Yeah, I don't know that one.
- 18:46Leyla Zmeskal: Oh, I was just saying that Ozzy Osbourne also did a song about the Travis Walton story, Fire in the Sky.
- 18:56Leyla Zmeskal: Alright, well,
- 18:57Diane Black: Squirrel,
- 18:58Leyla Zmeskal: But also BuzzFeed, in that episode, talked about.
- 19:02Trisha Smith: Isn't that movie?
- 19:02Leyla Zmeskal: Yes, it was a movie. And also BuzzFeed talked about the Travis Walton investigation. Or about Travis Walton.
- 19:09Trisha Smith: There have been several movies about alien abductions and yeah, all the time. I'm like, seriously, what?
- 19:17Trisha Smith: What are you hoping to get unless you're just trying to figure out like, skeletal like, you know, your skeletal muscular systems? You know, I don't know how not Why?
- 19:30Diane Black: Why I know. I don't really give it a lot of my attention because I 100% believe, and, and other life forms. And I do believe that they've been here long for, 1000s of years ago. But, I don't, like, I don't give much my attention to abductions and studying because I just feel like there's other things that they'd really be,
- 19:56Trisha Smith: Wanting to know.
- 19:57Diane Black: Wanting to know.
- 19:58Trisha Smith: Right. Right.
- 19:58Trisha Smith: Right.
- 19:59Leyla Zmeskal: The Travis Walton USA, UFO incident is alleged alien abduction of American forest worker Travis Walton by a UFO on November 5, 1975. While he was working in the Apache, something sit graves national forest near Snowflake Arizona.
- 20:22Leyla Zmeskal: Walton was missing for five days and six hours. After days of searching with scent dogs and helicopters Walton says that he reappeared by the side of the road near Heber, Arizona, the Walton case received mainstream publicity and remains one of the best known alien abduction stories. With scientific skeptics considered it is a hoax.
- 20:47Trisha Smith: OH
- 20:49Leyla Zmeskal: Yeah, and BuzzFeed, in the, Famous Alien
- 20:49Diane Black: OH Abduction Episode. Buzzfeed did, he was featured in one and also Ozzy Osbourne wrote a song, Fire In The Sky.
- 21:01Diane Black: Wheeze
- 21:01Trisha Smith: Wheeze
- 21:05Leyla Zmeskal: Rock On!
- 21:09Trisha Smith: All right, what about you? Diane, did you have a third favorite?
- 21:14Diane Black: Um, you know, I misunderstood our homework. I didn't know we were supposed to do 3, 2, 1.
- 21:25Trisha Smith: Oh no, it's just your top three. So whatever your third.
- 21:28Diane Black: I just, I just have a top favorite.
- 21:29Trisha Smith: Oh, what's your top favorite?
- 21:31Diane Black: My top favorite is from season one, episode three, Island of the Dolls.
- 21:40Leyla Zmeskal: Oh, man.
- 21:41Trisha Smith: Really?
- 21:41Leyla Zmeskal: Yeah It was a little creepy. I mean, it wasn't. Was it to me like, paranormal scary. It was just like,
- 21:48Diane Black: Psychological scary, with,
- 21:50Leyla Zmeskal: Dolls
- 21:50Trisha Smith: Right
- 21:50Diane Black: Yeah. I'm really interested in the psychology of the mind. And so, the fact that this guy this, this man at south of Mexico City, right, who legend has it? A little girl died in the bank of this canal.
- 22:08Trisha Smith: Um hum
- 22:09Leyla Zmeskal: Right
- 22:09Diane Black: So to honor her, he took a doll or found her doll.
- 22:14Leyla Zmeskal: I think he found that doll floating, according to BuzzFeed.
- 22:18Diane Black: Yeah,
- 22:18Leyla Zmeskal: The Buzzfeed story, he found a doll like a week after they found the girl.
- 22:21Leyla Zmeskal: So he, picked up the doll and thought it was like an embodiment of her spirit,
- 22:29Diane Black: Right, right, and an extension of her kind of like an homage.
- 22:32Leyla Zmeskal: Yeah, so he like, placed it. And then after that, all the dolls started to like, come to him in one way or another.
- 22:39Diane Black: Yeah, and he started collecting them,
- 22:41Trisha Smith: Right
- 22:42Diane Black: To like, pay homage to,
- 22:46Leyla Zmeskal: Yeah
- 22:46Diane Black: To children that have passed. But the interesting thing was, like all the dolls that he collect, and he's strung throughout this section of the island, are in one way shape, or form, disembodied, whether it was a missing limb, or decapitated.
- 23:03Leyla Zmeskal: I didn't catch that.
- 23:04Diane Black: Yeah, yeah, yeah, maybe I read that on one of my cuz I explored a little bit deeper into the story. And, and then when he ended up dying, lore has it, that where he died was the exact same location as where the little girl's body was found,
- 23:25Leyla Zmeskal: Right. They do say that in the story.
- 23:27Trisha Smith: Right
- 23:27Diane Black: And then his brother, who has continued on the work, the work,
- 23:32Leyla Zmeskal: The weirdness,
- 23:34Diane Black: The weirdness of his brother to have all these dolls strung out through the, through the island, kind of like, you know, honoring children that have crossed over.
- 23:48Diane Black: And yeah, I just I really like that one. I was fascinated with the psychological component of it.
- 23:55Leyla Zmeskal: So it wasn't really spooky for me. I'm not I'm okay with spiders. But I think even then, them walking through that place at night even I'm like, Oh, damn, there's a lot of spiders.
- 24:06Diane Black: There were so many.
- 24:07Leyla Zmeskal: And there was a lot of like,
- 24:09Diane Black: Now, it is out in the woods.
- 24:10Leyla Zmeskal: Different sizes
- 24:12Diane Black: Near cannels in the forest.
- 24:15Leyla Zmeskal: And there's this one random cat on the ledge towards the end of the show.
- 24:17Leyla Zmeskal: What does that cat eat? Somebody better feed that cat.
- 24:22Diane Black: Oh
- 24:23Leyla Zmeskal: You don't remember that part?
- 24:25Diane Black: Umm, not offhand.
- 24:25Diane Black: But what I did find is that there is about 1,500 decaying dolls on this island. And today it's like opened as a somewhat of a tourist,
- 24:42Trisha Smith: Mm hmm
- 24:43Diane Black: Museum, like people can, pay money to go and walk on the island,
- 24:46Trisha Smith: They consider it a floating garden. Now.
- 24:50Leyla Zmeskal: I thought your were going to say floating garbage.
- 24:54Diane Black: Yeah
- 24:55Trisha Smith: Yeah
- 24:57Leyla Zmeskal: Okay. Thank you.
- 24:57Leyla Zmeskal: I'll pass,
- 24:59Trisha Smith: Right No. Yeah, the guy. He died in 2001 and so since his death, people have been bringing more and more dolls, like they visit and bring dolls to leave. So now it's got you know, she's got a lot, so but he was collecting the dolls and hanging them up around the island for 50 years.
- 25:24Diane Black: Right, since 1950.
- 25:26Leyla Zmeskal: Yeah, no, I'm good.
- 25:27Trisha Smith: That's a lot.
- 25:28Diane Black: And there's a shrine also to,
- 25:31Leyla Zmeskal: The original doll.
- 25:32Diane Black: Too. Yeah, the original doll and in honor of the little girl that lost her life and he spent his whole life there and doing this.
- 25:41Trisha Smith: Right. He also lived by himself, so people tend
- 25:44Leyla Zmeskal: Quite possibly.
- 25:46Leyla Zmeskal: to think that he may have possibly even made up the story to garner attention to receive more visitors because of living in solitude, so.
- 25:59Trisha Smith: Who knows but it is,
- 26:00Diane Black: I did not know that.
- 26:01Trisha Smith: It's creepy to think about.
- 26:04Leyla Zmeskal: Speaking of creepy, another episode that they had that, was creepy, and has been done by many paranormal investigations is the Waverly.
- 26:14Trisha Smith: Oh my gosh! Well, hello any type of, if it has the name sanatorium,
- 26:23Diane Black: Yes!
- 26:23Leyla Zmeskal: With the body shoot.
- 26:24Trisha Smith: Yeah, just no! That's like a lot of no for me, because I, you know, whether they're ghosts or not crazy can linger. I mean, I feel like crazy can linger, so, you combine that with whatever else and yeah, that place,
- 26:44Leyla Zmeskal: Yeah, that was, that was a little, that one, that's been done by multiple, Yeah, right.
- 26:50Leyla Zmeskal: Investagators, the Waverly.
- 26:51Trisha Smith: That's a big one, there's a local,
- 26:52Leyla Zmeskal: That is a big one.
- 26:53Trisha Smith: Florida paranormal group that has even done it, so, I've seen it on, on our Facebook you know, but yeah,
- 27:03Leyla Zmeskal: Bobby Mackey's
- 27:05Trisha Smith: Yeah,
- 27:06Leyla Zmeskal: They did Bobby Mackey's
- 27:06Trisha Smith: I can remember that way years ago.
- 27:09Diane Black: See now I've just come in so. I've seen season one, and then I jumped to season three.
- 27:17Leyla Zmeskal: Okay
- 27:17Diane Black: So,
- 27:18Leyla Zmeskal: I think Bobby Mackey's is,
- 27:20Diane Black: That's as far as I've got.
- 27:21Trisha Smith: Let me look, Bobby Mackey's was in, Season Two.
- 27:25Leyla Zmeskal: Season Two
- 27:25Diane Black: Yeah, I skipped right over all of season two, I wanted to get into season three,
- 27:29Leyla Zmeskal: That's another one that's been done by multiple people. Let me bring up Ozzie again, Jack Osbourn, Ozzy's son, did an investigation,
- 27:41Diane Black: Really?
- 27:42Leyla Zmeskal: Yeah, in his, his show is called, Portals to Hell,
- 27:44Diane Black: Portals to Hell?
- 27:50Leyla Zmeskal: If you remember, one of our last episodes in season one was called.
- 27:55Trisha Smith: Lots of portals.
- 27:56Diane Black: Lots of portals. So many portals.
- 28:01Leyla Zmeskal: And the Bobby Mackey's. Yeah,
- 28:03Trisha Smith: They said, Bobby Mackey's was supposedly,
- 28:06Leyla Zmeskal: A portal
- 28:07Trisha Smith: A portal
- 28:08Leyla Zmeskal: Yeah. It that's kind of, and they've had stuff, a lot of stuff happened but during that particular episode, I think you know, Ryan thinks that they may be captured a couple EVPs, but for the most part there was really nothing.
- 28:21Leyla Zmeskal: I know Ryan was behind the bar and like doing their their separate thing and Ryan heard things in the hallway. You know, of course, you know, he freaks out over everything vs. Shane.
- 28:39Leyla Zmeskal: Hello, demons.
- 28:41Diane Black: Yeah.
- 28:43Leyla Zmeskal: It's me your boy,
- 28:45Trisha Smith: Say my name bitch!
- 28:47Diane Black: I can't,
- 28:48Leyla Zmeskal: I wonder who said that...Trisha
- 28:51Diane Black: I can feelings, so unsettled when he does that. I really do.
- 28:56Leyla Zmeskal: I know you do.
- 28:56Diane Black: Don't, do, don't do that.
- 28:59Leyla Zmeskal: But it's kind of, but nothing happens though.
- 29:02Trisha Smith: Right
- 29:03Leyla Zmeskal: I mean, nothing.
- 29:04Diane Black: But it, doesn't necessarily have to happen right at this moment in time.
- 29:10Leyla Zmeskal: Right. But something that, one of, the one of the episodes, that something did happen was the Sallie episode,
- 29:20Trisha Smith: The Sallie
- 29:21Leyla Zmeskal: The Sallie House,
- 29:22Trisha Smith: The Sally House.
- 29:23Diane Black: Yes! That was intense.
- 29:23Trisha Smith: That one was my favorite episode. And it's, um, that one is, Season One, Episod Three. And it's calle, Horrifying Cases of Ghosts a d Demons. And, it's one of th ee stories that they, or pla es that they visit. And, I can remember seeing that on the ews back, you know, a long time ago when it was first, because that was the first time th y had actually, like somebody ha been scratched. And they h
- 29:57Leyla Zmeskal: Like appearing, d like video evidence of somebod being scratched, like no, l ke they filmed him,
- 30:05Trisha Smith: Right, they like filmed him and all sudden he's like, Ow!
- 30:10Diane Black: Yes,
- 30:11Trisha Smith: And they show and there's he's got like scratches on his back. And I mean, it's just the weirdest thing. And so I looked it up because that's one of those things where they, they went in they had a lot of crazy weird experiences in there.
- 30:26Diane Black: They did.
- 30:27Trisha Smith: So when we went to St. Augustine, with Lisa, when we did the oldest school house, one of the things she did that did not work for us was turning the flashlight on just a little bit and setting it down. And then if you and it was off, but she was saying to you know,
- 30:48Leyla Zmeskal: It can manipulate it to turn on and turn it off.
- 30:49Trisha Smith: Turn it on, if you want to talk to us turn it you're you know,
- 30:54Leyla Zmeskal: It was yes or no,
- 30:55Trisha Smith: Yes or no, it never turned on. It just stayed off the entire time. So when we watched this episode on the SallIe House, they did the same thing, and that shit had turned on and turned off and started rollin around.
- 31:10Leyla Zmeskal: To flashlights, right, there were two different color flashlights. And they would ask a question, and say turn on the red flashlight.
- 31:20Diane Black: Yeah.
- 31:21Leyla Zmeskal: And the red flashlight would turn on. And then it said, another question and turn it off. And then they would say okay, we'll turn on the blue flashlight. And the blue flashlight would turn on.
- 31:30Leyla Zmeskal: And then they would tell ask it to turn off and it turned off.
- 31:33Leyla Zmeskal: And then later on in the show, one of the flashlights just decided to roll around on the counter for no reason at all. No one bumped it. No one was near it. And Ryan was like, I just shit myself.
- 31:50Diane Black: Yeah,
- 31:51Trisha Smith: So yeah. That was a lot. That was a lot in that episode so because, you know, it's one of those things where if you just were watching the show, and you saw it, it's it's pretty freaky. But after having actually tried it and knowing that it doesn't work.
- 32:11Leyla Zmeskal: Yeah,
- 32:12Trisha Smith: It really doesn't work,
- 32:13Leyla Zmeskal: Really doesn't,
- 32:14Trisha Smith: Exempt on that episode, then it's a little more freaky. Because it I mean, we turned it on, we set it on a flat surface, and it did
- 32:23Leyla Zmeskal: I don't think they want to speak to us.
- 32:24Trisha Smith: They did not.
- 32:24Trisha Smith: They're like, nope.
- 32:26Leyla Zmeskal: Is that the Sallie House, Is that the first place that they actually stayed overnight at a location?
- 32:32Trisha Smith: As from that or from that season? That?
- 32:36Leyla Zmeskal: Yes. Yeah. From that point.
- 32:39Trisha Smith: So, I had to look it up because I like I said, I remembered hearing about it. And then of course, after watching it, it was just they did a really quick episode because like it was one of three that they did.
- 32:52Leyla Zmeskal: Wasn't the Winchester also in that same episode?
- 32:55Trisha Smith: Um
- 32:56Leyla Zmeskal: The Winchester house.
- 32:57Trisha Smith: It was, that episode had Gosh, I don't remember now.
- 33:03Trisha Smith: I don't remember.
- 33:04Diane Black: Do you remember?
- 33:04Diane Black: Was it Father John or Father Tom?
- 33:07Leyla Zmeskal: Yeah,
- 33:08Diane Black: One of the priests that they consulted with before they went?
- 33:13Trisha Smith: Yeah.
- 33:14Diane Black: And then they were doing everything that the priests told them not to do?
- 33:18Trisha Smith: Yes!
- 33:18Leyla Zmeskal: Shane was doing everything for us told them not
- 33:20Trisha Smith: Do not, you know, antagonize the demon.
- 33:20Trisha Smith: to do.
- 33:24Diane Black: Yeah,
- 33:24Trisha Smith: He was like, bitch say my name.
- 33:27Leyla Zmeskal: Do not invite him to or do not invite them to communicate with you.
- 33:31Diane Black: Right.
- 33:32Trisha Smith: Right.
- 33:33Leyla Zmeskal: Hi boys,
- 33:36Diane Black: It was pretty funny.
- 33:38Leyla Zmeskal: It is funny.
- 33:39Trisha Smith: Let me see if I can find that episode so I can see what exactly, was on, like what that,
- 33:47Leyla Zmeskal: While you're looking at,
- 33:48Trisha Smith: Other three we're on that one,
- 33:50Leyla Zmeskal: When closer to the end of I think it was episode or season six. They visited some places that, they visited Savannah
- 33:59Diane Black: Oh,
- 33:59Leyla Zmeskal: And I was like, oh, they did the Moon River Brewery.
- 34:03Leyla Zmeskal: I was like oh my god we did that one too,
- 34:03Trisha Smith: Yes, That was on my list,
- 34:05Leyla Zmeskal: We were just there for like,
- 34:07Diane Black: A meal
- 34:08Leyla Zmeskal: A meal
- 34:08Trisha Smith: But they got to go in all the places that we were told we weren't allowed to go in.
- 34:13Leyla Zmeskal: Yeah,
- 34:14Trisha Smith: So, that was pretty cool.
- 34:15Trisha Smith: And then after that they did, the um, What's that? Really?
- 34:21Trisha Smith: That really haunted one where we were talking about going back up there and doing the overnight.
- 34:25Diane Black: The Sorrell?
- 34:26Leyla Zmeskal: Sorrell Weed House!
- 34:28Trisha Smith: Yes!
- 34:29Diane Black: I have to look at that.
- 34:32Leyla Zmeskal: Well in the video. It looked like a person.
- 34:36Diane Black: Wow.
- 34:37Leyla Zmeskal: Did you remember that?
- 34:38Trisha Smith: Yes.
- 34:40Trisha Smith: We talked about going there.
- 34:41Diane Black: Yeah,
- 34:41Trisha Smith: Right.
- 34:43Diane Black: Again, I only saw season one and then I jumped to season three,
- 34:47Trisha Smith: Right,
- 34:48Leyla Zmeskal: Yeah, I think episode or season six also had the St. Augustine lighthouse.
- 34:53Trisha Smith: Ah, we want to go there.
- 34:56Diane Black: Did they do the jail?
- 34:58Leyla Zmeskal: No, no.
- 35:00Diane Black: I would like for them to do the jail.
- 35:02Leyla Zmeskal: They did the lighthouse though.
- 35:03Diane Black: Yeah,
- 35:03Trisha Smith: Right.
- 35:04Diane Black: Check it out.
- 35:06Leyla Zmeskal: It's quite interesting. I enjoy the or their investigations. I enjoy the banter.
- 35:15Diane Black: Yeah, for sure.
- 35:16Trisha Smith: Absolutely.
- 35:16Leyla Zmeskal: I enjoy seeing Ryan's eyes go like, super huge.
- 35:22Leyla Zmeskal: like super scared all the time, and,
- 35:24Diane Black: Trying to keep this shit together, same time losing it.
- 35:28Leyla Zmeskal: To me It's, It's very entertaining.
- 35:31Diane Black: It is, love it.
- 35:34Leyla Zmeskal: Did you find it?
- 35:35Trisha Smith: Yes, I did. So, it that, that one they did? Oh, it doesn't say, it doesn't say which ones? I'd have to actually watch it. I don't want to do that. Oh, wait, hold on,
- 35:49Leyla Zmeskal: Holding on.
- 35:50Trisha Smith: Hold on, please.
- 35:57Leyla Zmeskal: But if you, if you're interested in watching this show, the show you can find it everywhere. It's on Hulu.
- 36:05Leyla Zmeskal: It's on Amazon Prime. Didn't you say Tricia was on Amazon Prime?
- 36:09Trisha Smith: Yes, so, you can find it on Amazon Prime Hulu, but they started out on YouTube.
- 36:15Leyla Zmeskal: Did they really?
- 36:16Trisha Smith: Yeah. So you can find them on YouTube. So actually, I'm gonna go back,
- 36:20Leyla Zmeskal: And they got fancy, and like got popular and moved up. I also saw that they did like a Reddit thing where they were, you know, allowing people to do q&a with them.
- 36:29Trisha Smith: Yeah.
- 36:29Diane Black: Oh, fun.
- 36:30Leyla Zmeskal: Yeah, back in the day, like 2017.
- 36:36Trisha Smith: Since one of my favorites was the Sallie House I have actually went up over and checked it out a little more didn't go over. I went into the interwebs and found a website called visit Atchison, because evidently this house is in Atchison, Kansas. And it's like other places that we've gone to you can spend the night, like you've clicked on it. Yeah. One of their their most famous haunted houses the Sallie House.
- 37:06Leyla Zmeskal: Diane is shaking her head like, that's a hard no for me.
- 37:10Diane Black: You, you two can spend the night.
- 37:13Trisha Smith: The house not occupied. So it's available for both daytime visits and overnight stays. A waiver is required due to the potential for personal injury.
- 37:25Diane Black: Wow,
- 37:26Trisha Smith: Though. No serious injuries have been reported since the last tenants of 1993.
- 37:34Leyla Zmeskal: Would you do a day trip? Just a day?
- 37:37Trisha Smith: No serious injuries.
- 37:38Diane Black: Yeah,
- 37:39Leyla Zmeskal: You would go in there just for the day?
- 37:42Diane Black: Yes.
- 37:43Leyla Zmeskal: I mean, obviously not overnight,
- 37:45Diane Black: Right. But day, like day, Sun's still out. And
- 37:49Leyla Zmeskal: Yeah,
- 37:50Diane Black: Yeah.
- 37:50Trisha Smith: Okay.
- 37:50Diane Black: Yeah.
- 37:50Leyla Zmeskal: Okay.
- 37:51Trisha Smith: So the history of the Sallie House. It was originally built at the turn of the century, it became the residence of an Atchison physician, and the front served his office space and exam rooms while the doctor and his family lived upstairs. One day a frantic mother arrived carrying her six year old daughter's daughter Sally, the child had collapsed from severe abdominal pain. The doctor diagnosed appendicitis and knew there was no time to delay, believing the appendix would soon burst the doctor began cutting Sally before the anesthesia took full effect. Sally's scream suddenly stopped and she grew pale and limp she died on the operating table, her last memories of a man a man who she believed was torturing her. So that's the little girl that they claim is haunting.
- 38:41Leyla Zmeskal: But, in that episode, didn't they say that there was somebody that actually lived in the house and her name was Sally, but she was an older lady.
- 38:49Trisha Smith: I, you know,
- 38:50Leyla Zmeskal: I thought so,
- 38:54Diane Black: A black woman.
- 38:55Leyla Zmeskal: I think so, I think so.
- 38:58Trisha Smith: It says, though the house is long known to be haunted. Sally's hunting grew ominous in 93, when the house was rented to a young couple.
- 39:05Trisha Smith: Their dogs seem to grow at nothing, especially near the stairs, the upstairs nursery, we saw that,
- 39:13Leyla Zmeskal: Yeah,
- 39:13Trisha Smith: We saw that in the show.
- 39:14Leyla Zmeskal: That's what they mentioned.
- 39:15Trisha Smith: Things began to take a violent turn. However, fires broke out in the house series of sinister attacks on the husband began. Those were th scratches we were talking about The operating area would becom cold, objects would visibly mo e when the young man drew near, he could feel scratches on is chest or abdomen. But never id the ghost attack the wife or baby. Events, events that have been witnessed by visito s, so these are different thing that other people have experi
- 39:44Leyla Zmeskal: Okay.
- 39:45Trisha Smith: Video and investigative equipment have nced.
- 39:47Trisha Smith: stopped working, batteries that are full immediately and completely drain. They've experienced moving objects, unexplained scratches or bruising on their bodies during or after visits, physical touches,T mysterious coldness and trained Guide Dogs refused to enter the nursery. And I think they've talked about that that thing
- 40:07Leyla Zmeskal: The nursery.
- 40:09Trisha Smith: Babies, the baby dolls?
- 40:10Leyla Zmeskal: The baby room, where the neighbor said that they saw, like a light on.
- 40:16Trisha Smith: But wasn't that the one where all the dolls were in circle?
- 40:23Trisha Smith: And they move, like they moved it and they came back later and the light was on again and all the little toys were in a circle.
- 40:31Trisha Smith: Yeah, that is so creepy.
- 40:34Diane Black: Yeah, yeah,
- 40:36Trisha Smith: Unless somebody's leaving and living in their attic. So,
- 40:43Leyla Zmeskal: I will still say that's always the creepiest thought for me. Live in someone's attic, watching the family.
- 40:48Diane Black: Yeah.
- 40:49Trisha Smith: So if you go to their website, visit atchison.com. They actually have like a little thing that you can fill out to stay overnight, like you can stay. There's a start date and then you add like you put your checkout date. I guess just like a real hotel overnight at the Sallie House begin at 3pm and lasts until 9am the following morning, for $125 a person with a two person minimum, so you can't just stay there by yourself.
- 41:22Leyla Zmeskal: Who would want to stay there by themselves? You have to have. I'll give it all to you if you were the kind of person I was like I'll stay there by myself. I don't give a shit.
- 41:33Trisha Smith: No,
- 41:34Diane Black: No, no, no, no.
- 41:35Leyla Zmeskal: I know
- 41:36Trisha Smith: You know, misery loves company.
- 41:38Leyla Zmeskal: Yes.
- 41:39Diane Black: Yeah, for sure.
- 41:41Trisha Smith: If i'm going to stay at some decrepit old house I'm gonna make sure I got people suffering with me.
- 41:48Diane Black: I wonder if it's an air b&b?
- 41:51Trisha Smith: Ew, maybe run by or run by the city? Or the yeah, the city, the whole city runs this place.
- 42:02Leyla Zmeskal: I don't know, if we stay, we're sleeping in the same frickin bed.
- 42:06Diane Black: I'm not stayin.
- 42:07Leyla Zmeskal: We're not staying in different bedrooms.

- 43:57Trisha Smith: Right
- 43:58Leyla Zmeskal: And show their location video and then bounce back to their, obviously their conversation after they came back for them.
- 44:03Diane Black: And give a little history into the location.
