  Thanks.
• 2:26
  You
• 2:26
  guys
• 2:26
  have
• 2:26
  got
• 2:27
  so
• 2:27
  many
• 2:27
  brands
• 2:28
  that
• 2:28
  so
• 2:28
  many
• 2:28
  people
• 2:29
  probably
• 2:29
  even
• 2:29
  know
• 2:30
  about
• 2:30
  out
• 2:31
  there.
• 2:31
  You've
• 2:32
  got
• 2:32
  a
• 2:32
  fun
• 2:32
  job
• 2:33
  there
• 2:34
  under
• 2:34
  a
• 2:34
  huge
• 2:34
  umbrella
• 2:35
  of
• 2:35
  outdoor
• 2:35
  living.
• 2:36
  Yeah,
• 2:37
  we're
• 2:37
  sometimes
• 2:37
  we
• 2:37
  say
• 2:38
  we're
• 2:38
  the
• 2:38
  biggest
• 2:38
  company
• 2:38
  people
• 2:39
  may
• 2:39
  not
• 2:39
  know
• 2:40
  of.
• 2:40
  We
• 2:40
  have
• 2:40
  a
• 2:40
  whole
• 2:41
  suite
• 2:41
  of
• 2:41
  products
• 2:42
  across
• 2:42
  brands
• 2:42
  to
• 2:43
  really
• 2:43
  help
• 2:43
  bring
• 2:44
  any
• 2:44
  outdoor
• 2:44
  living
• 2:44
  space
• 2:45
  to
• 2:45
  life.
• 2:45
  Yeah,
• 2:46
  it's
• 2:46
  a
• 2:46
  lot
• 2:46
  of
• 2:46
  fun,
• 2:47
  fun.
• 2:47
  Company
• 2:47
  to
• 2:48
  be
• 2:48
  a
• 2:48
  part
• 2:48
  of.
• 2:49
  Yeah,
• 2:49
  you
• 2:49
  guys
• 2:50
  have
• 2:50
  big
• 2:50
  stuff
• 2:50
  out
• 2:51
  there
• 2:51
  from
• 2:51
  Belgard
• 2:52
  when
• 2:52
  it
• 2:52
  comes
• 2:52
  to
• 2:53
  pavers
• 2:53
  and
• 2:53
  block
• 2:54
  and
• 2:54
  moisture
• 2:54
  shields
• 2:55
  and
• 2:55
  the
• 2:56
  keeps
• 2:57
  going
• 2:57
  on
• 2:57
  and
• 2:57
  on.
• 2:58
  You
• 2:58
  get
• 2:58
  into
• 2:58
  some
• 2:58
  of
• 2:59
  the
• 2:59
  other
• 2:59
  stuff
• 2:59
  like
• 2:59
  sacrete
• 3:00
  that
• 3:00
  you
• 3:00
  see
• 3:00
  at
• 3:00
  your
• 3:01
  home
• 3:01
  center.
• 3:01
  There's
• 3:02
  just
• 3:02
  a
• 3:02
  lot
• 3:02
  of
• 3:03
  different
• 3:03
  stuff
• 3:03
  from
• 3:03
  fencing
• 3:04
  to
• 3:04
  pools
• 3:04
  to
• 3:04
  everything
• 3:05
  else.
• 3:05
  Yep.
• 3:06
  Yeah,
• 3:07
  it's
• 3:07
  interesting.
• 3:08
  I've
• 3:08
  been
• 3:08
  a
• 3:08
  part
• 3:08
  of
• 3:08
  the
• 3:08
  company
• 3:09
  for
• 3:09
  about
• 3:09
  a
• 3:09
  dozen
• 3:10
  years,
• 3:10
  but
• 3:10
  prior
• 3:10
  to
• 3:11
  that
• 3:11
  I
• 3:11
  was
• 3:11
  a
• 3:11
  vendor
• 3:12
  and
• 3:12
  prior
• 3:12
  to
• 3:12
  that
• 3:12
  I
• 3:12
  was
• 3:13
  a
• 3:13
  contractor.
• 3:13
  It's
• 3:14
  interesting
• 3:14
  to
• 3:14
  see
• 3:14
  the
• 3:14
  evolution
• 3:15
  of
• 3:15
  really
• 3:15
  going
• 3:16
  from
• 3:16
  a
• 3:16
  masonry
• 3:17
  hardscape
• 3:18
  company
• 3:18
  to
• 3:19
  a
• 3:19
  full
• 3:19
  outdoor
• 3:20
  living
• 3:20
  company.
• 3:20
  As
• 3:20
  you
• 3:20
  said,
• 3:21
  we've
• 3:21
  got
• 3:21
  composite
• 3:21
  decking,
• 3:22
  railing,
• 3:22
  fencing,
• 3:23
  all
• 3:23
  the
• 3:23
  above,
• 3:24
  all
• 3:24
  the
• 3:24
  Ingredients,
• 3:25
  cool
• 3:25
  finishes
• 3:26
  to,
• 3:26
  to
• 3:26
  bring
• 3:26
  those
• 3:26
  spaces
• 3:27
  to
• 3:27
  life,
• 3:28
  which
• 3:28
  is
• 3:29
  a
• 3:29
  lot
• 3:29
  of
• 3:29
  fun.
• 3:29
  And
• 3:30
  you
• 3:30
  get
• 3:30
  to
• 3:31
  play
• 3:31
  with
• 3:31
  the
• 3:31
  design
• 3:31
  of
• 3:31
  all
• 3:32
  this,
• 3:32
  which
• 3:32
  I
• 3:32
  think
• 3:32
  is
• 3:33
  super
• 3:33
  cool
• 3:33
  because
• 3:34
  that's
• 3:34
  the
• 3:34
  fun
• 3:35
  part
• 3:35
  in
• 3:35
  my
• 3:35
  book.
• 3:36
  Yeah.
• 3:37
  Yeah.
• 3:37
  I
• 3:37
  think
• 3:37
  you
• 3:37
  and
• 3:38
  I
• 3:38
  share
• 3:38
  a
• 3:38
  commonality
• 3:39
  there,
• 3:39
  for
• 3:39
  sure.
• 3:39
  I
• 3:40
  could
• 3:40
  design
• 3:40
  all
• 3:41
  day,
• 3:41
  every
• 3:41
  day,
• 3:41
  all
• 3:42
  night.
• 3:42
  I
• 3:42
  love
• 3:42
  that.
• 3:42
  And
• 3:43
  I
• 3:43
  love,
• 3:43
  I
• 3:44
  love
• 3:44
  the
• 3:44
  idea
• 3:44
  that
• 3:44
  the
• 3:45
  products
• 3:45
  we
• 3:45
  use
• 3:46
  fundamentally,
• 3:46
  they're
• 3:47
  the
• 3:47
  building
• 3:47
  blocks.
• 3:47
  Right.
• 3:48
  Of
• 3:48
  these
• 3:48
  spaces.
• 3:49
  And
• 3:49
  the
• 3:49
  design
• 3:49
  is
• 3:50
  really
• 3:50
  though,
• 3:50
  what
• 3:50
  drives
• 3:51
  all
• 3:51
  of
• 3:51
  it.
• 3:51
  And
• 3:52
  using
• 3:52
  design
• 3:53
  to
• 3:53
  create
• 3:54
  an
• 3:54
  illicit
• 3:55
  emotion
• 3:55
  and
• 3:55
  really
• 3:56
  create
• 3:56
  a
• 3:57
  space
• 3:57
  that
• 3:57
  is
• 3:58
  a
• 3:58
  sanctuary
• 3:58
  place
• 3:59
  to
• 3:59
  entertain,
• 4:00
  place
• 4:00
  for
• 4:00
  health
• 4:01
  and
• 4:01
  wellness.
• 4:01
  To
• 4:02
  me,
• 4:02
  I
• 4:02
  just,
• 4:03
  I
• 4:03
  love
• 4:03
  that.
• 4:03
  I
• 4:04
  love
• 4:04
  creating
• 4:04
  spaces
• 4:04
  that
• 4:05
  connect
• 4:05
  people
• 4:05
  to
• 4:06
  each
• 4:06
  other
• 4:06
  and
• 4:06
  to
• 4:07
  nature
• 4:07
  and
• 4:08
  yeah,
• 4:08
  it's,
• 4:09
  it's
• 4:09
  a
• 4:09
  dream
• 4:09
  job
• 4:09
  for
• 4:09
  sure.
• 4:10
  And
• 4:10
  I
• 4:10
  think
• 4:11
  the
• 4:11
  industry
• 4:11
  itself
• 4:12
  is
• 4:12
  in
• 4:12
  a
• 4:12
  really
• 4:12
  cool
• 4:13
  spot.
• 4:14
  Tons
• 4:14
  of
• 4:14
  excitement.
• 4:15
  I
• 4:15
  feel
• 4:15
  like
• 4:15
  even
• 4:15
  though
• 4:15
  I've
• 4:16
  been
• 4:16
  in
• 4:16
  this
• 4:16
  industry
• 4:16
  over
• 4:16
  30
• 4:17
  years,
• 4:18
  I
• 4:18
  feel
• 4:18
  like
• 4:18
  we're
• 4:18
  just
• 4:19
  getting
• 4:19
  started
• 4:19
  in
• 4:20
  what's
• 4:20
  possible
• 4:21
  with
• 4:21
  outdoor
• 4:21
  living.
• 4:22
  I
• 4:23
  think
• 4:23
  it's
• 4:23
  only
• 4:23
  been
• 4:23
  the
• 4:23
  last
• 4:24
  five
• 4:24
  to
• 4:24
  10
• 4:24
  years
• 4:25
  that
• 4:25
  we've
• 4:25
  really
• 4:26
  seen
• 4:26
  it
• 4:26
  take
• 4:26
  off
• 4:27
  out
• 4:27
  there.
• 4:27
  I
• 4:27
  still
• 4:28
  say
• 4:28
  it's
• 4:28
  the
• 4:28
  cheapest
• 4:29
  investment
• 4:30
  you
• 4:30
  can
• 4:30
  make
• 4:30
  in
• 4:30
  your
• 4:31
  house
• 4:31
  that
• 4:32
  gives
• 4:32
  you
• 4:33
  a
• 4:33
  bunch
• 4:33
  of
• 4:34
  space
• 4:34
  to
• 4:35
  live
• 4:35
  in
• 4:35
  and
• 4:36
  enjoy
• 4:37
  without
• 4:37
  the
• 4:37
  massive
• 4:38
  project
• 4:38
  of
• 4:39
  adding
• 4:39
  on
• 4:39
  to
• 4:39
  your,
• 4:40
  to
• 4:40
  your
• 4:41
  residence.
• 4:41
  It's
• 4:42
  just
• 4:42
  a
• 4:42
  great
• 4:42
  buy.
• 4:43
  Yeah.
• 4:44
  A
• 4:44
  lot
• 4:44
  of
• 4:44
  people
• 4:44
  don't
• 4:45
  think
• 4:45
  of
• 4:45
  it
• 4:45
  that
• 4:46
  way.
• 4:46
  I
• 4:46
  think
• 4:46
  if
• 4:46
  you
• 4:46
  look
• 4:47
  at
• 4:47
  the
• 4:47
  average
• 4:47
  cost
• 4:48
  of
• 4:48
  an
• 4:48
  addition
• 4:48
  or
• 4:49
  even
• 4:49
  new
• 4:49
  construction
• 4:50
  being
• 4:50
  250,
• 4:51
  350
• 4:52
  a
• 4:52
  square
• 4:52
  foot
• 4:53
  outdoor
• 4:53
  living
• 4:54
  space,
• 4:54
  a
• 4:54
  full
• 4:54
  blown,
• 4:55
  all
• 4:56
  bells
• 4:56
  and
• 4:56
  whistles
• 4:57
  could
• 4:57
  be
• 4:57
  half
• 4:57
  that
• 4:58
  or
• 4:58
  much
• 4:58
  less.
• 4:59
  And
• 5:00
  granted
• 5:00
  it
• 5:01
  doesn't
• 5:01
  necessarily
• 5:01
  always
• 5:01
  have
• 5:02
  a
• 5:02
  roof
• 5:02
  on
• 5:02
  it,
• 5:02
  but
• 5:03
  the
• 5:03
  same
• 5:04
  features
• 5:04
  are
• 5:04
  there
• 5:04
  as
• 5:05
  you'd
• 5:05
  have
• 5:05
  on
• 5:05
  the
• 5:05
  interior
• 5:06
  with
• 5:06
  all
• 5:07
  the
• 5:07
  living
• 5:07
  spaces,
• 5:08
  the
• 5:08
  cooking
• 5:08
  spaces,
• 5:08
  lighting,
• 5:09
  sound,
• 5:09
  all
• 5:09
  of
• 5:09
  those
• 5:10
  things.
• 5:10
  And,
• 5:10
  and
• 5:10
  it
• 5:10
  has
• 5:11
  incredible
• 5:11
  roi,
• 5:12
  which
• 5:13
  people
• 5:13
  ask
• 5:13
  me
• 5:13
  that
• 5:13
  question
• 5:14
  all
• 5:14
  the
• 5:14
  time.
• 5:14
  Like
• 5:14
  the
• 5:15
  space
• 5:15
  itself,
• 5:15
  you
• 5:15
  should
• 5:16
  be
• 5:16
  buying
• 5:16
  these
• 5:16
  spaces
• 5:16
  for
• 5:17
  what
• 5:17
  they
• 5:17
  can
• 5:17
  do
• 5:17
  for
• 5:17
  you
• 5:18
  personally.
• 5:19
  Clearly
• 5:19
  ROI
• 5:19
  is
• 5:20
  important,
• 5:20
  but
• 5:20
  I
• 5:21
  always
• 5:21
  feel
• 5:21
  like
• 5:21
  that
• 5:21
  shouldn't
• 5:21
  be
• 5:22
  the
• 5:22
  driver
• 5:22
  in
• 5:22
  why
• 5:23
  you
• 5:23
  do
• 5:23
  something
• 5:23
  or
• 5:23
  not.
• 5:23
  But
• 5:24
  yeah,
• 5:24
  it's
• 5:24
  been,
• 5:25
  it's
• 5:25
  been
• 5:25
  a
• 5:26
  radical
• 5:26
  transformation
• 5:27
  in
• 5:27
  the
• 5:28
  past
• 5:28
  30
• 5:28
  years,
• 5:28
  that's
• 5:28
  for
• 5:29
  sure.
• 5:30
  No
• 5:30
  kidding.
• 5:30
  It
• 5:31
  was
• 5:31
  that
• 5:31
  wood
• 5:32
  deck,
• 5:32
  it
• 5:32
  was
• 5:32
  maybe
• 5:33
  a
• 5:33
  patio
• 5:33
  paver.
• 5:34
  And
• 5:34
  that
• 5:34
  was
• 5:34
  where
• 5:34
  we
• 5:35
  were
• 5:35
  stuck
• 5:35
  for
• 5:35
  about
• 5:36
  40
• 5:36
  years,
• 5:36
  it
• 5:37
  seemed.
• 5:37
  And
• 5:38
  then
• 5:38
  all
• 5:38
  of
• 5:38
  a
• 5:39
  sudden
• 5:39
  it
• 5:40
  exploded
• 5:40
  probably
• 5:41
  15
• 5:41
  or
• 5:42
  20
• 5:42
  years
• 5:42
  ago.
• 5:42
  Yep.
• 5:43
  And
• 5:43
  then
• 5:44
  we
• 5:44
  started
• 5:44
  to
• 5:45
  really
• 5:45
  get
• 5:45
  into.
• 5:45
  You'd
• 5:46
  see
• 5:46
  houses
• 5:46
  with
• 5:47
  amazing
• 5:47
  architecture
• 5:48
  outside
• 5:48
  and
• 5:48
  the
• 5:48
  landscape
• 5:49
  architecture.
• 5:50
  But
• 5:50
  really
• 5:51
  calling
• 5:51
  that
• 5:51
  an
• 5:52
  outdoor
• 5:52
  living
• 5:52
  space
• 5:53
  really
• 5:53
  took
• 5:53
  off.
• 5:54
  And
• 5:54
  I'm
• 5:55
  sure
• 5:55
  you've
• 5:55
  seen
• 5:55
  the
• 5:56
  trends
• 5:56
  change
• 5:56
  from
• 5:57
  where
• 5:57
  you
• 5:57
  started
• 5:58
  back
• 5:58
  then
• 5:58
  to
• 5:59
  man,
• 5:59
  the
• 6:00
  world
• 6:00
  is
• 6:00
  your
• 6:00
  oyster
• 6:00
  right
• 6:01
  now.
• 6:01
  Yeah,
• 6:02
  it's
• 6:02
  crazy,
• 6:02
  I
• 6:03
  think,
• 6:03
  and
• 6:03
  there's
• 6:04
  been
• 6:04
  a
• 6:04
  fundamental
• 6:04
  shift
• 6:05
  in
• 6:05
  how
• 6:05
  people
• 6:05
  think
• 6:06
  about
• 6:06
  the
• 6:06
  space.
• 6:06
  And
• 6:06
  I
• 6:07
  know
• 6:08
  you
• 6:08
  probably
• 6:08
  read
• 6:08
  some
• 6:08
  of
• 6:08
  this
• 6:09
  as
• 6:09
  well.
• 6:09
  Especially
• 6:10
  in
• 6:10
  the
• 6:10
  last
• 6:10
  five
• 6:10
  years
• 6:11
  since
• 6:11
  the
• 6:11
  pandemic,
• 6:12
  people's
• 6:13
  mindsets
• 6:13
  about
• 6:14
  outdoor
• 6:14
  living
• 6:15
  in
• 6:15
  general
• 6:15
  change.
• 6:16
  But
• 6:17
  I
• 6:17
  think
• 6:17
  just
• 6:17
  there's
• 6:17
  a
• 6:18
  growing
• 6:18
  awareness
• 6:18
  of
• 6:19
  this
• 6:19
  need
• 6:19
  for
• 6:20
  nature
• 6:20
  and
• 6:20
  how
• 6:20
  our
• 6:21
  brains
• 6:21
  respond
• 6:21
  to
• 6:22
  being
• 6:22
  in
• 6:22
  a
• 6:22
  natural
• 6:23
  environment.
• 6:24
  Now
• 6:24
  let's
• 6:24
  take
• 6:24
  a
• 6:24
  second
• 6:25
  to
• 6:25
  catch
• 6:25
  up
• 6:25
  with
• 6:25
  our
• 6:26
  friends
• 6:26
  at
• 6:26
  Red
• 6:26
  Wing
• 6:26
  on
• 6:27
  this
• 6:27
  week's
• 6:27

• 6:28
  tip.
• 6:28
  Hey
• 6:28
  guys,
• 6:29
  it's
• 6:29
  Eric
• 6:29
  G
• 6:29

• 6:30
  around
• 6:30
  the
• 6:30

• 6:30
  with
• 6:30
  a
• 6:30
  quick
• 6:31
  Red
• 6:31
  Wing
• 6:31
  safety
• 6:32
  tip.
• 6:32
  Taking
• 6:32
  a
• 6:33
  few
• 6:33
  seconds
• 6:33
  to
• 6:33
  inspect
• 6:34
  your
• 6:34
  tools
• 6:34
  to
• 6:34
  keep
• 6:35
  you
• 6:35
  in
• 6:35
  one
• 6:35
  piece
• 6:36
  before
• 6:36
  every
• 6:36
  use.
• 6:37
  Check
• 6:37
  for
• 6:38
  dull
• 6:38
  blades
• 6:38
  that
• 6:38
  can
• 6:38
  cause
• 6:39
  kickback,
• 6:39
  loose
• 6:40
  grips
• 6:40
  that
• 6:40
  slip
• 6:40
  in
• 6:40
  your
• 6:41
  hand,
• 6:41
  damaged
• 6:42
  guards
• 6:42
  that
• 6:42
  can
• 6:42
  leave
• 6:43
  you
• 6:43
  exposed.
• 6:43
  What
• 6:44
  takes
• 6:44
  just
• 6:44
  moments
• 6:45
  can
• 6:45
  save
• 6:45
  you
• 6:46
  hours
• 6:46
  of
• 6:46
  downtime
• 6:47
  or
• 6:47
  a
• 6:47
  trip
• 6:47
  to
• 6:48
  the
• 6:48
  er.
• 6:48
  After
• 6:49
  the
• 6:49
  job,
• 6:49
  it's
• 6:50
  time
• 6:50
  to
• 6:50
  clean
• 6:50
  things
• 6:51
  up.
• 6:51
  Dust
• 6:52
  off
• 6:52
  the
• 6:52
  sawdust,
• 6:53
  grab
• 6:53
  a
• 6:53
  rag
• 6:53
  and
• 6:54
  some
• 6:54
  cleaner.
• 6:54
  Get
• 6:55
  these
• 6:55
  tools
• 6:55
  looking
• 6:55
  like
• 6:56
  new
• 6:56
  again.
• 6:56
  Grime
• 6:57
  will
• 6:57
  break
• 6:57
  down
• 6:57
  finishes
• 6:58
  so
• 6:58
  it's
• 6:59
  always
• 6:59
  good
• 6:59
  to
• 6:59
  wipe
• 6:59
  them
• 7:00
  clean.
• 7:00
  Then
• 7:01
  lubricate
• 7:01
  the
• 7:01
  moving
• 7:02
  parts
• 7:02
  as
• 7:02
  needed
• 7:02
  so

  everything

  stays
• 7:03
  smooth
• 7:04
  and
• 7:04
  reliable.
• 7:05
  Keep
• 7:05
  a
• 7:05
  simple
• 7:06

• 7:06
  handy.
• 7:07
  Look
• 7:07

• 7:07
  cracks,
• 7:08
  tighten
• 7:08

• 7:08
  and

  and

  gear
• 8:00
  that
• 8:00
  works
• 8:00
  as
• 8:01
  hard.
• 8:01
  As
• 8:01
  you
• 8:01
  do
• 8:02
  and
• 8:02
  how
• 8:02
  important
• 8:03
  that
• 8:03
  is
• 8:03
  for
• 8:03
  us
• 8:04
  on
• 8:04
  a
• 8:05
  day
• 8:05
  to
• 8:05
  day
• 8:05
  basis
• 8:06
  and
• 8:06
  you
• 8:07
  can
• 8:07
  see
• 8:07
  this
• 8:07
  information
• 8:08
  literally
• 8:08
  everywhere.
• 8:09
  Now
• 8:09
  where
• 8:09
  it's
• 8:10
  becoming,
• 8:10
  I
• 8:11
  would
• 8:11
  say
• 8:11
  Common
• 8:11
  knowledge
• 8:12
  that
• 8:13
  outdoor
• 8:13
  living
• 8:13
  spaces
• 8:14
  in
• 8:14
  nature
• 8:15
  in
• 8:15
  general
• 8:15
  isn't
• 8:15
  an.
• 8:16
  It
• 8:16
  isn't
• 8:16
  a
• 8:16
  nice
• 8:17
  to
• 8:17
  have,
• 8:17
  it's
• 8:17
  a
• 8:17
  need
• 8:17
  to
• 8:18
  have.
• 8:18
  And
• 8:19
  I
• 8:19
  think
• 8:19
  we
• 8:19
  all
• 8:19
  experienced
• 8:20
  that
• 8:20
  over
• 8:20
  the
• 8:20
  last
• 8:21
  five
• 8:21
  years
• 8:22
  and
• 8:23
  you
• 8:23
  look
• 8:23
  at
• 8:23
  what
• 8:23
  implications
• 8:24
  that
• 8:24
  has
• 8:25
  and
• 8:25
  the
• 8:25
  science
• 8:25
  that's
• 8:26
  coming
• 8:26
  out
• 8:26
  to
• 8:26
  support
• 8:26
  this,
• 8:28
  it
• 8:28
  goes
• 8:28
  way
• 8:28
  beyond
• 8:29
  creating
• 8:29
  a
• 8:29
  space
• 8:30
  for
• 8:30
  entertainment.
• 8:31
  And
• 8:31
  all
• 8:31
  those
• 8:31
  things
• 8:32
  are
• 8:32
  clearly
• 8:33
  part
• 8:33
  of
• 8:33
  it.
• 8:34
  But
• 8:34
  I
• 8:35
  would
• 8:35
  say
• 8:35
  there's
• 8:36
  this
• 8:36
  worldwide
• 8:37
  macro
• 8:37
  trend
• 8:38
  of
• 8:38
  biophilic
• 8:39
  design
• 8:39
  and
• 8:39
  this
• 8:40
  idea
• 8:40
  that
• 8:41
  where
• 8:41
  we
• 8:42
  live
• 8:42
  and
• 8:42
  work
• 8:43
  and
• 8:43
  play
• 8:43
  in
• 8:44
  the
• 8:44
  built
• 8:44
  world,
• 8:45
  that
• 8:46
  we
• 8:46
  need
• 8:46
  to
• 8:46
  do
• 8:46
  a
• 8:46
  better
• 8:47
  job
• 8:47
  of
• 8:47
  connecting
• 8:48
  that
• 8:48
  indoor
• 8:49
  outdoor
• 8:49
  space
• 8:50
  and
• 8:50
  connecting
• 8:50
  it
• 8:50
  also
• 8:51
  with
• 8:51
  the
• 8:52
  local
• 8:52
  ecosystem.
• 8:53
  So
• 8:53
  the
• 8:53
  idea
• 8:54
  of
• 8:54
  outdoor
• 8:54
  living,
• 8:54
  I
• 8:55
  think
• 8:55
  has
• 8:55
  become
• 8:55
  much
• 8:56
  more
• 8:56
  holistic
• 8:57
  and
• 8:57
  in
• 8:58
  its
• 8:58
  approach.
• 8:59
  And
• 8:59
  that
• 9:00
  that
• 9:01
  shift
• 9:01
  is,
• 9:01
  I
• 9:01
  would
• 9:01
  say
• 9:02
  is
• 9:02
  a
• 9:02
  fundamental,
• 9:03
  like,
• 9:03
  it's
• 9:03
  a
• 9:04
  sea
• 9:04
  change
• 9:04
  right
• 9:05
  within
• 9:05
  our
• 9:05
  industry
• 9:05
  and
• 9:06
  it
• 9:06
  forces
• 9:07
  people
• 9:07
  to
• 9:07
  look
• 9:07
  at
• 9:07
  these
• 9:07
  spaces
• 9:08
  in
• 9:08
  a
• 9:08
  much
• 9:08
  different
• 9:09
  way.
• 9:10
  And
• 9:10
  for
• 9:10
  me,
• 9:11
  I
• 9:12
  love
• 9:12
  design.
• 9:12
  I
• 9:13
  love,
• 9:13
  as
• 9:13
  I
• 9:13
  said,
• 9:13
  I
• 9:13
  love
• 9:13
  creating
• 9:14
  these
• 9:14
  spaces.
• 9:15
  Understanding
• 9:16
  that,
• 9:16
  and
• 9:16
  for
• 9:16
  a
• 9:16
  company
• 9:16
  like
• 9:17
  Oldcast,
• 9:17
  clearly
• 9:18
  understanding
• 9:18
  that
• 9:18
  is
• 9:18
  a
• 9:19
  key
• 9:19
  part
• 9:19
  of
• 9:19
  our
• 9:19
  business,
• 9:19
  but
• 9:21
  also
• 9:21
  disseminating
• 9:22
  that
• 9:22
  information
• 9:22
  out
• 9:22
  into
• 9:23
  the
• 9:23
  world
• 9:23
  to
• 9:23
  our
• 9:24
  network
• 9:24
  of
• 9:24
  designers,
• 9:25
  dealers,
• 9:25
  contractors,
• 9:26
  homeowners,
• 9:27
  that
• 9:28
  these
• 9:28
  spaces
• 9:29
  can
• 9:29
  really,
• 9:29
  truly
• 9:30
  impact
• 9:30
  your
• 9:31
  life
• 9:31
  in
• 9:31
  a
• 9:31
  profound
• 9:32
  way
• 9:32
  that
• 9:32
  goes
• 9:33
  beyond
• 9:33
  even
• 9:34
  some
• 9:35
  of
• 9:35
  our
• 9:35
  conscious
• 9:35
  understanding.
• 9:36
  And
• 9:36
  this
• 9:36
  is
• 9:36
  where
• 9:37
  the
• 9:37
  neuroscience
• 9:37
  part
• 9:38
  comes
• 9:38
  in,
• 9:38
  which
• 9:39
  I
• 9:39
  could
• 9:40
  nerd
• 9:40
  out
• 9:40
  on
• 9:40
  this
• 9:40
  all
• 9:40
  day
• 9:41
  long
• 9:41
  and
• 9:41
  go
• 9:41
  down
• 9:41
  a
• 9:41
  long
• 9:42
  rabbit
• 9:42
  hole.
• 9:42
  But
• 9:43
  I
• 9:43
  just
• 9:44
  think
• 9:44
  it's
• 9:44
  fascinating
• 9:45
  as
• 9:45
  we
• 9:45
  learn
• 9:45
  more
• 9:46
  about
• 9:46
  it.
• 9:47
  Oh,
• 9:47
  it's
• 9:47
  great,
• 9:47
  man.
• 9:48
  I've.
• 9:48
  I
• 9:48
  built
• 9:48
  an
• 9:49
  outdoor
• 9:49
  kitchen
• 9:49
  space
• 9:50
  in,
• 9:50
  in
• 9:50
  my
• 9:51
  backyard
• 9:51
  where
• 9:51
  I've
• 9:52
  got
• 9:52
  a
• 9:52
  wood
• 9:53
  fired
• 9:53
  pizza
• 9:54
  oven,
• 9:54
  a
• 9:54
  big
• 9:54
  huge
• 9:55
  domed
• 9:55
  one
• 9:55
  that
• 9:55
  I
• 9:56
  built.
• 9:56
  I've
• 9:56
  got
• 9:56
  the
• 9:57
  barbecue,
• 9:58
  it's
• 9:58
  partially
• 9:58
  covered,
• 9:59
  partially
• 9:59
  not.
• 10:00
  I
• 10:00
  can't
• 10:00
  be
• 10:01
  sitting
• 10:01
  out
• 10:01
  there
• 10:01
  cooking
• 10:02
  a
• 10:02
  pizza.
• 10:02
  And
• 10:03
  this
• 10:03
  happened
• 10:03
  this
• 10:03
  last
• 10:04
  year
• 10:04
  and
• 10:04
  I
• 10:04
  look
• 10:04
  up
• 10:05
  and
• 10:05
  I
• 10:05
  see
• 10:05
  a
• 10:06
  bald
• 10:06
  eagle
• 10:07
  sitting
• 10:07
  in
• 10:07
  my
• 10:07
  neighbor's
• 10:08
  tree.
• 10:08
  Sitting
• 10:08
  there.
• 10:09
  Yeah.
• 10:09
  And
• 10:09
  I,
• 10:10
  you
• 10:10
  just
• 10:10
  don't
• 10:10
  get
• 10:10
  that
• 10:11
  living
• 10:11
  inside,
• 10:12
  cooking
• 10:12
  in
• 10:13
  the
• 10:13
  kitchen,
• 10:14
  in
• 10:14
  most
• 10:14
  kitchens
• 10:15
  at
• 10:15
  least.
• 10:15
  And
• 10:15
  you're
• 10:16
  just
• 10:16
  out
• 10:16
  with
• 10:16
  nature.
• 10:17
  And
• 10:17
  quite
• 10:17
  frankly,
• 10:18
  in
• 10:18
  the
• 10:18
  summertime
• 10:18
  when
• 10:19
  I'm
• 10:19
  out
• 10:19
  doing
• 10:19
  it,
• 10:19
  or
• 10:19
  in
• 10:19
  the.
• 10:20
  Fall
• 10:20
  and
• 10:20
  the
• 10:20
  winter,
• 10:21
  I
• 10:21
  don't
• 10:21
  want.
• 10:21
  What
• 10:22
  I'm
• 10:22
  cooking
• 10:22
  outside
• 10:23
  heating
• 10:23
  up
• 10:23
  and
• 10:23
  smelling
• 10:24
  up
• 10:24
  the
• 10:24
  house.
• 10:24
  Anyway,
• 10:25
  the
• 10:25
  other
• 10:25
  night
• 10:25
  I
• 10:25
  was
• 10:26
  barbecuing
• 10:26
  and
• 10:26
  I
• 10:26
  was
• 10:27
  going
• 10:27
  to
• 10:27
  put
• 10:27
  it
• 10:27
  on
• 10:27
  the,
• 10:28
  I
• 10:28
  was
• 10:28
  going
• 10:28
  to
• 10:28
  cook
• 10:28
  it
• 10:29
  in
• 10:29
  the
• 10:29
  house.
• 10:29
  I'm
• 10:29
  like,
• 10:29
  I'm
• 10:30
  just
• 10:30
  going
• 10:30
  to
• 10:30

• 10:30
  out

  and

• 10:30
  it
• 10:31
  in

  because

  that

• 10:32
  I

  don't

  This

• 12:50
  showing
• 12:50
  us
• 12:50
  that,
• 12:51
  number
• 12:51
  one,
• 12:52
  we
• 12:52
  have
• 12:52
  an
• 12:52
  incredible
• 12:53
  nature
• 12:53
  deficit
• 12:54
  in
• 12:54
  this
• 12:54
  country.
• 12:55
  And
• 12:55
  really
• 12:55
  the

• 12:56
  the

  Right.
• 13:03
  And
• 13:03
  so,
• 13:04
  yeah,
• 13:04
  we
• 13:04
  see
• 13:04
  this
• 13:05
  direct
• 13:05
  correlation

  between

• 13:11
  the

  irony
• 13:11
  of
• 13:11
  this

  is

  day,
• 13:14
  but
• 13:16
  it
• 13:16
  doesn't
• 13:16
  take
• 13:17
  long.
• 13:17
  Like,
• 13:17
  we
• 13:17
  all
• 13:17
  just
• 13:18
  know
• 13:18
  it
• 13:18
  when
• 13:18
  you
• 13:18
  go
• 13:18
  outside
• 13:19
  and
• 13:19
  you
• 13:19
  go
• 13:19
  for
• 13:19
  a
• 13:20
  walk
• 13:20
  or
• 13:20
  you
• 13:20
  just
• 13:20
  within
• 13:21
  minutes,
• 13:21
  you
• 13:21
  just
• 13:22
  decompress
• 13:22
  and
• 13:22
  you
• 13:23
  don't
• 13:23
  even
• 13:23
  have
• 13:23
  to
• 13:23
  do
• 13:23
  anything.
• 13:24
  You're
• 13:24
  just
• 13:24
  naturally
• 13:25
  more
• 13:25
  relaxed.
• 13:25
  And
• 13:26
  that's
• 13:26
  really
• 13:26
  the
• 13:27
  fundamental
• 13:27
  driver,
• 13:27
  we
• 13:28
  believe,
• 13:28
  of
• 13:28
  why
• 13:28
  people
• 13:29
  want
• 13:29
  these
• 13:29
  space.
• 13:29
  But
• 13:30
  I
• 13:30
  think
• 13:30
  it's
• 13:30
  up
• 13:30
  to
• 13:31
  us
• 13:31
  to
• 13:32
  draw
• 13:32
  that
• 13:32
  out
• 13:32
  and
• 13:33
  also
• 13:33
  educate
• 13:33
  them
• 13:34
  on
• 13:34
  the
• 13:34
  benefits
• 13:34
  of
• 13:35
  it.
• 13:35
  It's
• 13:35
  funny,
• 13:35
  I
• 13:35
  put
• 13:36
  a
• 13:36
  TV
• 13:37
  outside
• 13:37
  in
• 13:37
  my
• 13:37
  area,
• 13:38
  but
• 13:38
  what
• 13:38
  I
• 13:38
  found
• 13:39
  is
• 13:39
  I
• 13:39
  stream
• 13:41
  music
• 13:41
  video
• 13:42
  channels
• 13:42
  like
• 13:42
  it's
• 13:43
  80s
• 13:43
  on
• 13:44
  MTV.
• 13:44
  So
• 13:45
  when
• 13:45
  I'm
• 13:45
  outside,
• 13:45
  I'm
• 13:46
  not
• 13:46
  watching
• 13:46
  some
• 13:47
  series
• 13:47
  television
• 13:48
  show.
• 13:48
  I
• 13:49
  got
• 13:49
  music
• 13:49
  in
• 13:49
  the
• 13:49
  background.
• 13:50
  Like
• 13:50
  it's
• 13:50
  music.
• 13:51
  Yeah.
• 13:51
  And
• 13:51
  if
• 13:51
  I
• 13:51
  want
• 13:51
  to
• 13:52
  look
• 13:52
  up
• 13:52
  and
• 13:52
  see
• 13:52
  what
• 13:53
  that
• 13:53
  band's
• 13:53
  doing,
• 13:54
  they're
• 13:54
  up
• 13:54
  there.
• 13:55
  And
• 13:55
  then
• 13:56
  these
• 13:56
  days,
• 13:56
  my
• 13:57
  little
• 13:57
  hack
• 13:57
  for
• 13:57
  that
• 13:57
  is
• 13:57
  I
• 13:58
  don't
• 13:58
  go
• 13:58
  out
• 13:58
  and
• 13:58
  spend
• 13:58
  $4,000
• 13:59
  on
• 14:00
  outdoor
• 14:00
  TV.
• 14:01
  Since
• 14:01
  it's
• 14:01
  covered,
• 14:02
  I
• 14:02
  just
• 14:02
  recycle
• 14:03
  my
• 14:03
  TV
• 14:04
  that
• 14:04
  I
• 14:04
  took
• 14:04
  out
• 14:05
  of
• 14:05
  the
• 14:05
  living
• 14:05
  room
• 14:05
  two
• 14:06
  years
• 14:06
  ago
• 14:06
  when
• 14:06
  I
• 14:06
  upgraded.
• 14:07
  And
• 14:07
  I
• 14:07
  throw
• 14:07
  it
• 14:07
  out
• 14:07
  there
• 14:08
  and
• 14:08
  when
• 14:08
  I'm
• 14:08
  done,
• 14:08
  I
• 14:08
  go
• 14:09
  recycle
• 14:09
  it.
• 14:09
  It's
• 14:09
  like
• 14:10
  the
• 14:10
  last
• 14:10
  of
• 14:10
  life
• 14:11
  for
• 14:11
  it.
• 14:11
  It's
• 14:11
  been
• 14:12
  outside
• 14:12
  for
• 14:12
  four
• 14:12
  years
• 14:13
  and
• 14:13
  it's
• 14:13
  done
• 14:13
  great.
• 14:14
  Yeah.
• 14:15
  It's
• 14:15
  durable
• 14:16
  enough.
• 14:16
  Yeah.
• 14:16
  No,
• 14:17
  it's
• 14:17
  true.
• 14:17
  And
• 14:17
  they're
• 14:18
  inexpensive
• 14:18
  enough
• 14:18
  to
• 14:19
  today,
• 14:19
  too,
• 14:19
  that
• 14:19
  a
• 14:19
  lot
• 14:19
  of
• 14:19
  people
• 14:20
  are
• 14:20
  doing
• 14:20
  that.
• 14:20
  You
• 14:20
  don't
• 14:21
  need
• 14:21
  the
• 14:21
  big
• 14:21
  weatherproof
• 14:22
  tv.
• 14:22
  You
• 14:22
  need
• 14:22
  to
• 14:23
  keep
• 14:23
  it
• 14:23
  weather
• 14:24
  covered
• 14:24
  from
• 14:24
  the
• 14:24
  weather.
• 14:25
  But
• 14:25
  they'll
• 14:25
  last
• 14:26
  a
• 14:26
  long
• 14:26
  time
• 14:26
  if
• 14:26
  you
• 14:27
  take
• 14:27
  care
• 14:27
  of
• 14:27
  them,
• 14:27
  that's
• 14:27
  for
• 14:28
  sure.
• 14:29
  Sure.
• 14:29
  If
• 14:29
  I
• 14:29
  get
• 14:29
  blowing
• 14:30
  snow
• 14:30
  or
• 14:30
  something
• 14:30
  weird
• 14:30
  that
• 14:31
  could
• 14:31
  get
• 14:31
  in
• 14:31
  there,
• 14:31
  I
• 14:31
  just
• 14:31
  go
• 14:31
  out
• 14:31
  and
• 14:32
  throw
• 14:32
  Some
• 14:32
  garbage
• 14:32
  bags
• 14:33
  and
• 14:33
  some
• 14:34
  gaff
• 14:34
  tape
• 14:34
  around
• 14:34
  it.
• 14:34
  It's
• 14:35
  good
• 14:35
  to
• 14:35
  go.
• 14:35
  And
• 14:35
  then
• 14:35
  I
• 14:36
  take
• 14:36
  it
• 14:36
  down
• 14:36
  again.
• 14:36
  It'll
• 14:37
  be
• 14:37
  fine.
• 14:37
  Yeah.
• 14:38
  If
• 14:38
  for
• 14:38
  $4,000
• 14:39
  difference,
• 14:40
  I
• 14:40
  can
• 14:40
  sure
• 14:40
  do
• 14:40
  that.
• 14:41
  But
• 14:41
  there's
• 14:42
  so
• 14:42
  many
• 14:42
  great
• 14:42
  values
• 14:43
  when
• 14:43
  you
• 14:43
  get
• 14:44
  outside
• 14:44
  and
• 14:44
  start
• 14:44
  designing
• 14:45
  from
• 14:45
  the
• 14:46
  technology
• 14:46
  that
• 14:47
  goes
• 14:47
  into
• 14:47
  products.
• 14:47
  We
• 14:48
  had
• 14:48
  our
• 14:48
  redwood
• 14:49
  and
• 14:49
  cedar
• 14:49
  and
• 14:50
  southern
• 14:50
  yellow
• 14:51
  pine
• 14:51
  decks
• 14:51
  going
• 14:51
  across
• 14:52
  the
• 14:52
  country
• 14:53
  into
• 14:53
  what
• 14:54
  was
• 14:54
  the
• 14:55
  first
• 14:55
  generations
• 14:56
  of
• 14:56
  composites.
• 14:57
  And
• 14:57
  then
• 14:58
  heck,
• 14:58
  I've
• 14:58
  got
• 14:59
  moisture
• 14:59
  shield
• 14:59
  decking
• 15:00
  on
• 15:00
  my
• 15:00
  deck,
• 15:01
  which
• 15:01
  is
• 15:01
  an
• 15:01
  old
• 15:01
  castle
• 15:02
  brand.
• 15:03
  And
• 15:03
  when
• 15:03
  I
• 15:03
  go
• 15:04
  walking
• 15:04
  across
• 15:04
  with
• 15:04
  bare
• 15:05
  feet,
• 15:06
  my
• 15:06
  wood
• 15:06
  deck
• 15:07
  is.
• 15:08
  That's
• 15:08
  on
• 15:08
  the
• 15:08
  side.
• 15:08
  Is
• 15:09
  actually
• 15:09
  hotter
• 15:10
  than
• 15:11
  the
• 15:11
  composite
• 15:11
  deck,
• 15:12
  which
• 15:12
  is
• 15:12
  exactly
• 15:12
  the
• 15:13
  opposite
• 15:13
  if
• 15:13
  it
• 15:13
  was
• 15:13
  another
• 15:14
  decking
• 15:14
  product.
• 15:14
  So
• 15:15
  it's
• 15:15
  amazing
• 15:16
  how
• 15:16
  technology
• 15:16
  is
• 15:17
  starting
• 15:17
  to
• 15:17
  really
• 15:17
  step
• 15:18
  in.
• 15:18
  And
• 15:18
  moisture
• 15:19
  shield's
• 15:19
  nothing
• 15:20
  new
• 15:20
  with
• 15:20
  that
• 15:20
  reflective
• 15:21
  heat
• 15:21
  technology.
• 15:22
  Yeah,
• 15:22
  it's
• 15:22
  interesting.
• 15:23
  You're
• 15:23
  right.
• 15:24
  All
• 15:24
  of
• 15:25
  this
• 15:25
  continues
• 15:25
  to
• 15:25
  evolve.
• 15:26
  And
• 15:26
  when
• 15:26
  you
• 15:27
  talk
• 15:27
  to
• 15:27
  people
• 15:27
  like
• 15:27
  you're
• 15:27
  in
• 15:27
  the
• 15:28
  landscape,
• 15:28
  you're
• 15:28
  out
• 15:28
  there
• 15:28
  living.
• 15:29
  Oh,
• 15:29
  you
• 15:29
  guys
• 15:29
  are
• 15:29
  the
• 15:29
  brick
• 15:29
  guys.
• 15:30
  The
• 15:31
  foundational
• 15:31
  products
• 15:32
  haven't
• 15:32
  necessarily
• 15:33
  changed
• 15:33
  from
• 15:33
  the
• 15:33
  ingredient
• 15:34
  level,
• 15:34
  but
• 15:34
  the
• 15:35
  technology
• 15:35
  certainly
• 15:35
  has
• 15:36
  with
• 15:36
  different
• 15:36
  finishes
• 15:37
  and
• 15:38
  aesthetics,
• 15:38
  with
• 15:38
  textures,
• 15:39
  color,
• 15:40
  heat
• 15:40
  reflecting
• 15:41
  technology,
• 15:41
  recycled
• 15:42
  content.
• 15:42
  It's.
• 15:43
  We
• 15:43
  are
• 15:43
  right
• 15:44
  in
• 15:44
  the
• 15:44
  in
• 15:45
  line,
• 15:45
  I
• 15:45
  would
• 15:45
  say,
• 15:45
  with
• 15:46
  what's
• 15:46
  going
• 15:46
  on
• 15:46
  in
• 15:46
  the
• 15:46
  digital
• 15:47
  age,
• 15:47
  especially
• 15:47
  when
• 15:48
  it
• 15:48
  comes
• 15:48
  to
• 15:48
  design
• 15:48
  and
• 15:49
  all
• 15:49
  the
• 15:49
  other
• 15:49
  things
• 15:49
  that
• 15:49
  bring
• 15:50
  those
• 15:50
  spaces
• 15:51
  to
• 15:51
  life,
• 15:51
  that
• 15:51
  to
• 15:51
  me
• 15:52
  is
• 15:52
  what's
• 15:52
  exciting.
• 15:52
  I
• 15:52
  mean,
• 15:53
  it
• 15:53
  is
• 15:53
  absolutely
• 15:54
  exponentially
• 15:55
  growing
• 15:56
  and
• 15:56
  is.
• 15:57
  Outdoor
• 15:57
  living
• 15:58
  right
• 15:58
  now
• 15:58
  is
• 15:58
  right
• 15:58
  on
• 15:58
  par
• 15:59
  with.
• 15:59
  It's
• 16:00
  either
• 16:00
  number
• 16:00
  one,
• 16:00
  two,
• 16:01
  maybe
• 16:01
  three,
• 16:02
  depending
• 16:02
  on
• 16:03
  who's
• 16:03
  doing
• 16:03
  the
• 16:03
  research
• 16:04
  of
• 16:05
  spaces
• 16:05
  people
• 16:05
  want.
• 16:06
  Which
• 16:06
  I
• 16:06
  think
• 16:07
  speaks
• 16:07
  volumes
• 16:08
  where
• 16:08
  forever
• 16:08
  it
• 16:09
  was
• 16:09
  kitchens
• 16:09
  and
• 16:09
  used
• 16:10
  to
• 16:10
  be
• 16:10
  rec
• 16:10
  rooms.
• 16:11
  And
• 16:11
  it's
• 16:12
  always
• 16:12
  shifting,
• 16:12
  but
• 16:12
  you
• 16:13
  can
• 16:13
  see
• 16:13
  how
• 16:13
  people
• 16:13
  are
• 16:14
  prioritizing
• 16:14
  it,
• 16:14
  which
• 16:15
  I
• 16:15
  think
• 16:15
  is
• 16:15
  fascinating.
• 16:16
  It
• 16:16
  is.
• 16:17
  And
• 16:17
  I
• 16:17
  think
• 16:18
  people
• 16:18
  get
• 16:18
  out
• 16:18
  there
• 16:18
  and
• 16:18
  they
• 16:19
  go,
• 16:19
  wow,
• 16:19
  I've
• 16:19
  got
• 16:19
  this
• 16:19
  blank
• 16:20
  slate
• 16:20
  of
• 16:20
  a
• 16:20
  house.
• 16:21
  Maybe
• 16:21
  they've
• 16:21
  got
• 16:21
  a.
• 16:22
  A
• 16:22
  builder
• 16:22
  special
• 16:23
  where
• 16:23
  they've
• 16:23
  got
• 16:23
  that
• 16:24
  little
• 16:24
  concrete
• 16:24
  pad
• 16:25
  out
• 16:25
  back
• 16:25
  off
• 16:26
  the
• 16:26
  patio
• 16:26
  slider
• 16:27
  coming
• 16:27
  off
• 16:27
  the
• 16:28
  dining
• 16:28
  room
• 16:28
  kitchen
• 16:28
  or
• 16:29
  whatever.
• 16:29
  And
• 16:30
  they've
• 16:30
  got
• 16:30
  this
• 16:30
  massive
• 16:31
  dream.
• 16:31
  And
• 16:31
  my
• 16:32
  first
• 16:32
  thing
• 16:32
  I
• 16:32
  tell
• 16:32
  people
• 16:33
  when
• 16:33
  they're
• 16:33
  looking
• 16:33
  at
• 16:34
  this
• 16:34
  is
• 16:35
  I
• 16:35
  think
• 16:35
  the
• 16:35
  biggest
• 16:36
  mistake
• 16:36
  that
• 16:36
  I
• 16:36
  see
• 16:36
  people
• 16:37
  make
• 16:37
  is
• 16:38
  not
• 16:38
  the
• 16:38
  proper
• 16:39
  planning
• 16:39
  or
• 16:39
  bringing
• 16:40
  in
• 16:40
  the
• 16:40
  design
• 16:40
  professionals
• 16:41
  to
• 16:42
  actually
• 16:42
  get
• 16:42
  you
• 16:42
  the
• 16:42
  game
• 16:43
  plan
• 16:43
  before
• 16:44
  you
• 16:44
  get
• 16:44
  started.
• 16:45
  It's
• 16:45
  like
• 16:45
  building
• 16:45
  a
• 16:45
  house
• 16:46
  without
• 16:46
  a
• 16:46
  blueprint.
• 16:46
  If
• 16:47
  you
• 16:47
  don't
• 16:47
  have
• 16:47
  it,
• 16:47
  you're
• 16:48
  going
• 16:48
  to
• 16:48
  be
• 16:48
  in
• 16:48
  trouble.
• 16:49
  Yeah,
• 16:49
  I
• 16:50
  use
• 16:50
  the
• 16:50
  same
• 16:50
  analogy
• 16:51
  I
• 16:51
  also
• 16:51
  use
• 16:51
  the
• 16:51
  car
• 16:52
  analogy.
• 16:52
  I
• 16:52
  said,
• 16:52
  can
• 16:52
  you
• 16:53
  imagine
• 16:53
  if
• 16:53
  you,
• 16:53
  you
• 16:54
  wanted
• 16:54
  to
• 16:54
  go
• 16:54
  buy
• 16:54
  a
• 16:54
  car
• 16:54
  but
• 16:55
  you
• 16:55
  had
• 16:55
  to
• 16:55
  just,
• 16:55
  you
• 16:56
  show
• 16:56
  up
• 16:56
  and
• 16:56
  ask
• 16:57
  a
• 16:57
  mechanic
• 16:57
  to
• 16:58
  put
• 16:58
  a
• 16:58
  bunch
• 16:58
  of
• 16:58
  pieces
• 16:58
  together
• 16:59
  and
• 16:59
  make
• 16:59
  something.
• 17:00
  I
• 17:00
  said,
• 17:00
  that's
• 17:01
  basically
• 17:01
  what
• 17:01
  happens
• 17:02
  a
• 17:02
  lot.
• 17:03
  And
• 17:03
  people
• 17:04
  were
• 17:04
  like,
• 17:04
  yeah,
• 17:04
  it's
• 17:04
  expensive.
• 17:05
  You're
• 17:05
  gonna
• 17:05
  recoup
• 17:06
  that
• 17:06
  10
• 17:06
  times
• 17:07
  over.
• 17:07
  If
• 17:07
  you're
• 17:07
  doing
• 17:07
  a
• 17:08
  larger
• 17:08
  project
• 17:09
  to
• 17:09
  get
• 17:09
  a
• 17:09
  quality
• 17:10
  design,
• 17:10
  make
• 17:10
  sure
• 17:10
  you
• 17:11
  plan
• 17:11
  all
• 17:11
  those
• 17:11
  things.
• 17:11
  And
• 17:12
  there,
• 17:13
  there's
• 17:13
  a
• 17:13
  lot
• 17:13
  of
• 17:13
  insights
• 17:14
  the
• 17:15
  designers
• 17:15
  have,
• 17:16
  right,
• 17:16
  that
• 17:16
  they're
• 17:16
  seeing
• 17:17
  more
• 17:17
  projects,
• 17:17
  they're
• 17:18
  pulling
• 17:18
  data
• 17:18
  from
• 17:18
  wherever
• 17:19
  that
• 17:19
  you
• 17:19
  don't
• 17:19
  always
• 17:20
  get.
• 17:20
  I
• 17:20
  absolutely
• 17:21
  always
• 17:21
  say
• 17:22
  you
• 17:22
  should
• 17:22
  invest
• 17:22
  on
• 17:23
  that
• 17:23
  front
• 17:23
  end.
• 17:23
  And
• 17:24
  even
• 17:24
  if
• 17:24
  I
• 17:24
  tell
• 17:25
  contractors
• 17:25
  you
• 17:25
  might
• 17:25
  be
• 17:26
  the
• 17:26
  best
• 17:26
  installer
• 17:26
  in
• 17:26
  the
• 17:27
  world,
• 17:27
  but
• 17:27
  a
• 17:28
  poorly
• 17:28
  designed
• 17:28
  project
• 17:29
  will
• 17:29
  still
• 17:29
  be
• 17:29
  a
• 17:29
  poorly
• 17:30
  designed
• 17:30
  project.
• 17:31
  And
• 17:31
  no
• 17:32
  matter
• 17:32
  how
• 17:32
  good
• 17:32
  you
• 17:32
  install,
• 17:33
  it
• 17:33
  just
• 17:33
  is.
• 17:34
  Oh
• 17:34
  yeah.
• 17:34
  And
• 17:34
  there's
• 17:35
  nothing
• 17:35
  more
• 17:36
  frustrating
• 17:36
  for
• 17:37
  the
• 17:37
  end
• 17:37
  user,
• 17:38
  homeowner
• 17:38
  or
• 17:38
  whoever
• 17:39
  else
• 17:39
  that
• 17:40
  now
• 17:40
  has
• 17:40
  to
• 17:40
  tear
• 17:41
  up
• 17:41
  part
• 17:41
  of
• 17:41
  their
• 17:41
  paver
• 17:42
  patio,
• 17:43
  take
• 17:43
  apart
• 17:43
  part
• 17:43
  of
• 17:44
  their
• 17:44
  deck
• 17:45
  and
• 17:45
  bring
• 17:45
  heavy
• 17:45
  equipment
• 17:46
  into
• 17:46
  the
• 17:46
  finished
• 17:47
  backyard
• 17:47
  because
• 17:48
  they
• 17:48
  want
• 17:48
  to
• 17:49
  put
• 17:49
  gas
• 17:49
  for
• 17:49
  the
• 17:49
  fire
• 17:50
  pit.
• 17:50
  I
• 17:51
  actually
• 17:51
  just
• 17:51
  ran
• 17:51
  into
• 17:52
  this
• 17:52
  problem
• 17:52
  today.
• 17:52
  I
• 17:53
  still,
• 17:53
  I
• 17:53
  get
• 17:53
  pulled
• 17:54
  into
• 17:54
  lots
• 17:54
  of
• 17:54
  projects
• 17:54
  as
• 17:55
  you'd
• 17:55
  imagine
• 17:55
  with
• 17:55
  my
• 17:56
  background,
• 17:56
  but
• 17:56
  same
• 17:57
  thing,
• 17:57
  right?
• 17:57
  It's
• 17:57
  just
• 17:57
  a
• 17:58
  lot
• 17:58
  of
• 17:58
  times
• 17:58
  too,
• 17:58
  people
• 17:58
  don't
• 17:59
  have
• 17:59
  the
• 17:59
  budget,
• 17:59
  so
• 18:00
  they
• 18:00
  don't.
• 18:00
  They
• 18:00
  like,
• 18:01
  I'm
• 18:01
  just
• 18:01
  going
• 18:01
  to
• 18:01
  do
• 18:01
  this,
• 18:01
  I'm
• 18:02
  just
• 18:02
  going
• 18:02
  to
• 18:02
  do
• 18:02
  the
• 18:02
  pool
• 18:02
  for
• 18:03
  now
• 18:03
  and
• 18:03
  do
• 18:03
  this
• 18:03
  later.
• 18:04
  If
• 18:04
  you
• 18:04
  don't
• 18:04
  plan
• 18:04
  for
• 18:05
  it
• 18:05
  all
• 18:05
  out
• 18:05
  of
• 18:05
  the
• 18:05
  beginning,
• 18:05
  it
• 18:06
  just,
• 18:06
  it's
• 18:06
  going
• 18:06
  to
• 18:06
  cost
• 18:06
  you
• 18:07
  way
• 18:07
  more
• 18:07
  over
• 18:07
  the
• 18:07
  long
• 18:07
  term
• 18:08
  because
• 18:08
  you
• 18:08
  did
• 18:09
  for
• 18:09
  that
• 18:09
  exact
• 18:09
  reason,
• 18:10
  right?
• 18:10
  Where
• 18:11
  you're
• 18:11
  not
• 18:11
  thinking
• 18:11
  about
• 18:12
  utilities
• 18:12
  or
• 18:13
  foundations
• 18:13
  or
• 18:13
  access
• 18:14
  or
• 18:14
  all
• 18:14
  the
• 18:14
  above,
• 18:14
  and
• 18:15
  you
• 18:15
  just
• 18:15
  made
• 18:15
  everything
• 18:16
  way
• 18:16
  more
• 18:17
  complicated
• 18:17
  for
• 18:17
  the
• 18:17
  next
• 18:18
  guy
• 18:18
  that's
• 18:18
  showing
• 18:18
  up.
• 18:19
  Think
• 18:19
  about
• 18:19
  all
• 18:19
  the
• 18:19
  electrical
• 18:20
  you
• 18:20
  have
• 18:20
  to
• 18:20
  put
• 18:20
  in
• 18:20
  back
• 18:21
  there
• 18:21
  with
• 18:21
  dedicated
• 18:22
  circuits.
• 18:22
  And
• 18:23
  if
• 18:23
  you're
• 18:23
  putting
• 18:23
  a
• 18:23
  pool,
• 18:24
  that's
• 18:24
  one
• 18:24
  thing,
• 18:24
  if
• 18:24
  you
• 18:25
  got
• 18:25
  a
• 18:25
  hot
• 18:25
  tub,
• 18:25
  another.
• 18:26
  But
• 18:26
  you
• 18:26
  can
• 18:27
  have
• 18:27
  three
• 18:27
  or
• 18:27
  four
• 18:27
  circuits
• 18:28
  in
• 18:28
  an
• 18:28
  outdoor
• 18:28
  living
• 18:29
  space
• 18:29
  out
• 18:29
  there
• 18:29
  if
• 18:29
  you're
• 18:30
  not
• 18:30
  careful
• 18:30
  by
• 18:30
  the
• 18:30
  time
• 18:31
  you
• 18:31
  put
• 18:31
  appliances
• 18:31
  and
• 18:32
  everything
• 18:32
  else.
• 18:32
  And
• 18:32
  oh
• 18:33
  yeah,
• 18:33
  you
• 18:33
  need
• 18:33
  to,
• 18:33
  that
• 18:33
  should
• 18:34
  be
• 18:34
  your
• 18:34
  first
• 18:34
  step
• 18:34
  is
• 18:35
  planning
• 18:35
  where
• 18:35
  that
• 18:35
  stuff
• 18:36
  goes.
• 18:36
  That
• 18:37
  way
• 18:37
  you've
• 18:37
  got
• 18:38
  it
• 18:38
  torn
• 18:38
  apart
• 18:38
  once
• 18:39
  and
• 18:39
  you
• 18:39
  can
• 18:40
  build
• 18:40
  from
• 18:40
  there.
• 18:41
  And
• 18:41
  you
• 18:41
  can
• 18:41
  do
• 18:42
  things
• 18:42
  like
• 18:42
  you
• 18:42
  said,
• 18:43
  where
• 18:43
  you
• 18:43
  maybe
• 18:43
  stub
• 18:43
  a
• 18:44
  gas
• 18:44
  line
• 18:44
  in
• 18:44
  or
• 18:44
  maybe
• 18:45
  you
• 18:45
  put
• 18:45
  in
• 18:45
  a
• 18:45
  foundation
• 18:45
  for
• 18:46
  a
• 18:46
  kitchen,
• 18:46
  but
• 18:46
  you're
• 18:47
  going
• 18:47
  to
• 18:47
  cover
• 18:47
  it
• 18:47
  with
• 18:47
  a
• 18:47
  Planter
• 18:48
  until
• 18:48
  you're
• 18:48
  ready
• 18:48
  to
• 18:49
  build
• 18:49
  it,
• 18:49
  or
• 18:49
  a
• 18:50
  lot
• 18:50
  of
• 18:50
  ways
• 18:50
  to
• 18:50
  create
• 18:50
  efficiency.
• 18:51
  If
• 18:51
  you
• 18:51
  think
• 18:52
  through
• 18:52
  it
• 18:52
  on
• 18:52
  the
• 18:52
  front
• 18:52
  end,
• 18:53
  and
• 18:53
  we
• 18:53
  talk
• 18:54
  to
• 18:54
  homeowners
• 18:54
  about
• 18:54
  that
• 18:54
  all
• 18:55
  the
• 18:55
  time,
• 18:55
  that's
• 18:55
  actually
• 18:55
  one
• 18:55
  of
• 18:55
  the.
• 18:56
  One
• 18:56
  of
• 18:56
  the

• 19:03

• 19:03
  alleviate
• 19:04
  some
• 19:04
  of
• 19:04
  that.
• 19:04
  Because
• 19:05
  if

  you

• 19:10
  is
• 19:10
  how
• 19:10
  do
• 19:10
  we
• 19:10
  deliver
• 19:11
  the
• 19:11
  product,
• 19:12
  which
• 19:12
  is
• 19:12
  really
• 19:12
  the
• 19:13
  space,
• 19:13
  to
• 19:14
  the
• 19:14

• 19:14

• 19:14
  a
• 19:15
  more
• 19:15

• 19:16
  way?
• 19:16
  And
• 19:16
  it
• 19:16
  really
• 19:16
  starts
• 19:17
  with
• 19:17
  design
• 19:18
  and
• 19:18
  obviously
• 19:19
  education
• 19:19
  and
• 19:20
  product.
• 19:20
  All
• 19:20
  those
• 19:20
  things
• 19:21
  come
• 19:21
  together,
• 19:22
  but
• 19:22
  the
• 19:22
  design
• 19:22
  really
• 19:23
  drives
• 19:23
  all.
• 19:24
  And
• 19:24
  people
• 19:25
  are
• 19:25
  more
• 19:26
  design
• 19:26
  savvy
• 19:27
  than
• 19:27
  they've
• 19:27
  ever
• 19:27
  been.
• 19:27
  So
• 19:28
  gotta
• 19:28
  make
• 19:29
  sure
• 19:29
  you
• 19:29
  have
• 19:29
  the
• 19:29
  right
• 19:29
  colors
• 19:29
  and
• 19:30
  textures
• 19:30
  and
• 19:30

• 19:30
  and
• 19:31
  all
• 19:31
  those
• 19:31
  things
• 19:31
  as
• 19:31
  well.
• 19:31
  But.
• 19:32
  But
• 19:32
  pulling
• 19:32
  it
• 19:32
  all
• 19:32
  together
• 19:33
  is
• 19:33
  a.
• 19:33
  Is
• 19:33
  a
• 19:33
  work
• 19:34
  of
• 19:34
  art.
• 19:34
  That's.
• 19:35
  It's
• 19:35
  like
• 19:35
  the
• 19:36
  difference
• 19:36
  between
• 19:36
  a
• 19:36
  chef
• 19:37
  and
• 19:37
  buying
• 19:37
  the
• 19:37
  ingredients.
• 19:38
  Right.
• 19:38
  Yeah.
• 19:39
  You
• 19:39
  gotta
• 19:39
  have
• 19:39
  a
• 19:39
  great
• 19:40
  recipe,
• 19:40
  otherwise
• 19:41
  the
• 19:41
  meal
• 19:42
  stinks.
• 19:42
  Right.
• 19:42
  That's
• 19:43
  the
• 19:43
  thing.
• 19:43
  And
• 19:44
  yes,
• 19:44
  they're
• 19:44
  more
• 19:45
  design
• 19:45
  savvy.
• 19:47
  However,
• 19:47
  they
• 19:47
  can
• 19:47
  be
• 19:48
  so
• 19:48
  much
• 19:48
  more
• 19:48
  dangerous
• 19:49
  if
• 19:49
  it's
• 19:49
  a
• 19:49
  DIY
• 19:50
  project.
• 19:50
  Because
• 19:51
  just
• 19:51
  because
• 19:51
  you've
• 19:52
  got
• 19:52
  12
• 19:52
  things
• 19:53
  that
• 19:53
  look
• 19:53
  good
• 19:53
  in
• 19:53
  your
• 19:53
  Pinterest
• 19:54
  folder
• 19:55
  doesn't
• 19:55
  mean
• 19:55
  this
• 19:56
  is
• 19:56
  all
• 19:56
  going
• 19:56
  to
• 19:56
  work
• 19:56
  together.
• 19:57
  Yeah,
• 19:58
  absolutely.
• 19:58
  Yep.
• 20:00
  It's
• 20:00
  tough.
• 20:01
  It's
• 20:01
  tough.
• 20:01
  And
• 20:02
  then
• 20:02
  what
• 20:02
  happens
• 20:02
  is
• 20:02
  the
• 20:03
  project
• 20:03
  gets
• 20:03
  going,
• 20:04
  they
• 20:04
  get
• 20:04
  halfway
• 20:05
  done,
• 20:06
  they
• 20:06
  realize
• 20:06
  they're
• 20:07
  in
• 20:07
  over
• 20:07
  their
• 20:07
  head,
• 20:07
  and
• 20:07
  maybe
• 20:07
  they
• 20:08
  even
• 20:08
  hired
• 20:08
  the
• 20:08
  wrong
• 20:09
  landscape
• 20:10
  contractor
• 20:10
  to
• 20:10
  come
• 20:11
  work
• 20:11
  on
• 20:11
  it.
• 20:12
  And
• 20:12
  then
• 20:13
  somebody
• 20:13
  has
• 20:13
  to
• 20:13
  come
• 20:13
  in,
• 20:14
  design
• 20:15
  it,
• 20:15
  fix
• 20:16
  it,
• 20:16
  put
• 20:16
  it
• 20:16
  back
• 20:16
  together.
• 20:17
  Yeah.
• 20:17
  And
• 20:18
  it's
• 20:18
  never
• 20:18
  less
• 20:19
  money.
• 20:20
  Yeah.
• 20:20
  And
• 20:20
  it's
• 20:21
  tough,
• 20:21
  too,
• 20:21
  because
• 20:22
  unlike
• 20:23
  I
• 20:23
  would
• 20:23
  say,
• 20:24
  building
• 20:24
  a
• 20:24
  home
• 20:24
  where
• 20:25
  people
• 20:25
  are
• 20:25
  used
• 20:25
  to
• 20:25
  that,
• 20:26
  and
• 20:26
  there's
• 20:26
  a
• 20:26
  pretty,
• 20:27
  pretty
• 20:27
  consistent
• 20:28
  process
• 20:28
  out
• 20:28
  there.
• 20:29
  Living
• 20:29
  in
• 20:29
  many
• 20:29
  markets
• 20:30
  is
• 20:30
  still,
• 20:31
  I
• 20:31
  would
• 20:31
  say,
• 20:31
  somewhat
• 20:32
  unregulated.
• 20:33
  And
• 20:33
  there
• 20:34
  are
• 20:34
  very
• 20:34
  few
• 20:35
  what
• 20:36
  I
• 20:36
  would
• 20:36
  call
• 20:36
  outdoor
• 20:37
  living,
• 20:37
  general
• 20:37
  contractors.
• 20:38
  So.
• 20:38
  So
• 20:39
  even
• 20:39
  though
• 20:39
  you
• 20:39
  might
• 20:39
  have
• 20:39
  designers,
• 20:40
  a
• 20:40
  big
• 20:41
  challenge
• 20:41
  for
• 20:41
  us
• 20:41
  is
• 20:42
  also
• 20:42
  finding
• 20:43
  ways
• 20:43
  to
• 20:44
  streamline
• 20:44
  it
• 20:44
  where,
• 20:45
  you
• 20:45
  know,
• 20:45
  as
• 20:45
  you
• 20:45
  might
• 20:45
  have
• 20:46
  10
• 20:46
  GCs
• 20:47
  on
• 20:47
  a.
• 20:47
  Or
• 20:47
  10,
• 20:47
  10
• 20:48
  subcontractors
• 20:49
  on
• 20:49
  a
• 20:49
  project.
• 20:50
  Plumber,
• 20:50
  electrician,
• 20:51
  mason,
• 20:52
  pool
• 20:52
  guy,
• 20:52
  all
• 20:53
  those
• 20:53
  different
• 20:53
  facets
• 20:54
  of
• 20:54
  the
• 20:54
  trades,
• 20:55
  and
• 20:56
  they
• 20:56
  all
• 20:56
  have
• 20:56
  to
• 20:56
  be
• 20:56
  coordinated.
• 20:57
  You
• 20:57
  got
• 20:57
  to
• 20:57
  make
• 20:57
  sure
• 20:58
  it
• 20:58
  all
• 20:58
  works
• 20:58
  together.
• 20:59
  So
• 20:59
  that.
• 20:59
  That
• 20:59
  part's
• 21:00
  a
• 21:00
  little
• 21:00
  bit
• 21:00
  of
• 21:00
  a
• 21:00
  challenge.
• 21:00
  And
• 21:00
  again,
• 21:01
  we've
• 21:01
  got
• 21:01
  tools
• 21:02
  we're
• 21:02
  trying
• 21:02
  to
• 21:02
  help
• 21:02
  with
• 21:02
  on
• 21:03
  that.
• 21:03
  Design's
• 21:03
  a
• 21:04
  big
• 21:04
  piece
• 21:04
  of
• 21:04
  that.
• 21:05
  But
• 21:05
  for
• 21:05
  Sure.
• 21:06
  I
• 21:06
  mean,
• 21:06
  they.
• 21:07
  So
• 21:07
  I
• 21:08
  would
• 21:08
  say
• 21:08
  you
• 21:08
  see
• 21:08
  this
• 21:08
  big
• 21:09
  gap
• 21:09
  where
• 21:09
  people,
• 21:10
  there's
• 21:10
  an
• 21:11
  expectation
• 21:11
  where
• 21:11
  they
• 21:12

• 23:24
  No
• 23:24

• 23:25
  And
• 23:25
  I
• 23:25
  think
• 23:25
  one
• 23:26
  of
• 23:26
  the
• 23:26
  biggest
• 23:26
  things
• 23:26
  that
• 23:26
  people
• 23:27
  miss
• 23:27
  as
• 23:27
  well
• 23:27
  out
• 23:27
  there
• 23:28
  when
• 23:28
  the
• 23:28
  project's
• 23:29
  all
• 23:29
  said
• 23:29
  and
• 23:29
  done
• 23:29
  is
• 23:30
  don't
• 23:30
  forget
• 23:31
  the
• 23:31
  lighting.
• 23:32
  The
• 23:32
  lighting
• 23:32
  can
• 23:32
  take
• 23:33
  that
• 23:33
  project
• 23:33
  and
• 23:34
  put
• 23:34
  a
• 23:34
  10x
• 23:34
  on
• 23:35
  the
• 23:35
  end
• 23:35
  of
• 23:35
  it
• 23:35
  as
• 23:36
  far
• 23:36
  as
• 23:36
  how
• 23:36
  it
• 23:36
  looks
• 23:37
  in
• 23:37
  the
• 23:37
  evening
• 23:37
  and
• 23:38
  how
• 23:38
  you
• 23:38
  use
• 23:39
  it
• 23:39
  as
• 23:39
  well.
• 23:40
  Yeah,
• 23:40
  no,
• 23:41
  for
• 23:41
  sure.
• 23:41
  And
• 23:41
  we.
• 23:42
  I
• 23:42
  hear
• 23:42
  this
• 23:42
  often.
• 23:43
  Right.
• 23:43
  So
• 23:43
  we
• 23:43
  don't
• 23:43
  do
• 23:43
  lighting.
• 23:44
  It's.
• 23:44
  Oh,
• 23:44
  man,
• 23:44
  it's.
• 23:45
  The
• 23:45
  homeowner
• 23:46
  may
• 23:46
  not
• 23:46
  even
• 23:46
  think
• 23:46
  about
• 23:47
  it
• 23:47
  because
• 23:47
  they're
• 23:47
  like,
• 23:47
  oh,
• 23:47
  I
• 23:47
  have
• 23:48
  a
• 23:48
  porch
• 23:48
  light.
• 23:48
  And
• 23:48
  then
• 23:49
  they
• 23:49
  realize
• 23:49
  it's
• 23:49
  like
• 23:49
  a
• 23:50
  spotlight
• 23:50
  when
• 23:50
  they're
• 23:50
  sitting
• 23:50
  out
• 23:51
  there.
• 23:51
  And
• 23:51
  to
• 23:52
  retrofit
• 23:52
  any
• 23:52
  those
• 23:53
  spaces,
• 23:53
  that's
• 23:53
  an
• 23:54
  absolute
• 23:54
  nightmare.
• 23:54
  If
• 23:55
  you're
• 23:55
  not
• 23:55
  offering
• 23:55
  lighting
• 23:56
  as
• 23:56
  part
• 23:56
  of
• 23:56
  this,
• 23:56
  man,
• 23:56
  you're
• 23:57
  doing
• 23:57
  your
• 23:57
  customer
• 23:58
  a
• 23:58
  disservice
• 23:58
  for
• 23:58
  sure.
• 23:59
  I'm
• 24:00
  saying
• 24:00
  I
• 24:00
  have
• 24:00
  an
• 24:00
  outlet
• 24:00
  on
• 24:01
  the
• 24:01
  back
• 24:01
  of
• 24:01
  the
• 24:01
  house
• 24:01
  by
• 24:02
  the
• 24:02
  faucet,
• 24:03
  so
• 24:03
  I'm
• 24:03
  good
• 24:03
  on
• 24:03
  the
• 24:03
  power.
• 24:04
  Yeah,
• 24:04
  exactly.
• 24:06
  No
• 24:06
  one's
• 24:07
  putting
• 24:07
  power
• 24:07
  strips
• 24:08
  outside
• 24:08
  to
• 24:08
  run
• 24:08
  their
• 24:09
  outdoor
• 24:09
  living.
• 24:10
  You
• 24:10
  have
• 24:10
  to
• 24:10
  deal
• 24:10
  with
• 24:10
  it
• 24:10
  all
• 24:11
  at
• 24:11
  once.
• 24:11
  And
• 24:12
  again,
• 24:12
  it's
• 24:12
  so
• 24:13
  easy
• 24:13
  to
• 24:13
  run
• 24:13
  cable
• 24:14
  when
• 24:14
  the
• 24:14
  landscapers
• 24:15
  are
• 24:15
  out
• 24:15
  there
• 24:15
  working
• 24:15
  on
• 24:16
  stuff
• 24:16
  before
• 24:17
  they
• 24:17
  have
• 24:17
  all
• 24:17
  the
• 24:18
  stuff
• 24:18
  in.
• 24:18
  So
• 24:18
  you're
• 24:18
  not
• 24:19
  digging
• 24:19
  stuff
• 24:19
  up,
• 24:20
  tunneling
• 24:20
  under,
• 24:20
  edging,
• 24:21
  whatever
• 24:21
  you're
• 24:21
  doing.
• 24:22
  Yeah.
• 24:22
  Just
• 24:22
  do
• 24:23
  it
• 24:23
  on
• 24:23
  the
• 24:23
  front
• 24:23
  end
• 24:23
  as
• 24:24
  part
• 24:24
  of
• 24:24
  the
• 24:24
  plan.
• 24:24
  And
• 24:24
  it's
• 24:25
  so
• 24:25
  much
• 24:25
  easier
• 24:26
  than
• 24:26
  to
• 24:27
  make
• 24:27
  it
• 24:27
  a
• 24:27
  weekend
• 24:27
  project
• 24:28
  or
• 24:28
  having
• 24:28
  a
• 24:28
  professional
• 24:29
  out
• 24:29
  for
• 24:29
  a
• 24:29
  week
• 24:29
  doing
• 24:30
  it
• 24:30
  when
• 24:30
  you're
• 24:30
  trying
• 24:31
  to
• 24:31
  get
• 24:31
  it
• 24:31
  done
• 24:31
  correctly.
• 24:32
  Yeah.
• 24:32
  And
• 24:33
  I
• 24:33
  think
• 24:33
  the
• 24:33
  other
• 24:33
  thing
• 24:33
  I
• 24:33
  like
• 24:34
  to
• 24:34
  talk
• 24:34
  to
• 24:35
  designers
• 24:35
  about
• 24:35
  or
• 24:36
  contractors
• 24:36
  as
• 24:37
  well
• 24:37
  is
• 24:37
  like,
• 24:37
  you
• 24:37
  really,
• 24:38
  you
• 24:38
  need
• 24:38
  to
• 24:38
  do
• 24:38
  a
• 24:38
  lot
• 24:39
  more
• 24:39
  on
• 24:39
  the
• 24:39
  front
• 24:39
  end
• 24:40
  with,
• 24:40
  with
• 24:40
  asking
• 24:41
  questions.
• 24:41
  Right.
• 24:42
  Things
• 24:42
  like
• 24:42
  what
• 24:43
  how
• 24:43
  many
• 24:43
  people
• 24:43
  will
• 24:44
  use
• 24:44
  in
• 24:44
  this
• 24:44
  space?
• 24:44
  How
• 24:44
  often
• 24:45
  do
• 24:45
  you
• 24:45
  use
• 24:45
  it?
• 24:45
  What
• 24:45
  are
• 24:45
  you
• 24:45
  going
• 24:45
  to
• 24:45
  use?
• 24:46
  What
• 24:46
  are
• 24:46
  you
• 24:46
  trying
• 24:46
  to
• 24:46
  accomplish
• 24:47
  with
• 24:47
  the
• 24:47
  space?
• 24:48
  And
• 24:48
  then
• 24:48
  even
• 24:49
  dig
• 24:49
  into
• 24:49
  what
• 24:49
  type
• 24:49
  of
• 24:50
  furniture
• 24:50
  are
• 24:50
  you
• 24:50
  envisioning?
• 24:51
  Like,
• 24:51
  people
• 24:51
  might
• 24:51
  be
• 24:52
  thinking,
• 24:52
  well,
• 24:52
  I
• 24:52
  want
• 24:52
  a
• 24:52
  big
• 24:53
  Deep
• 24:53
  seating,
• 24:54
  sectional.
• 24:54
  And
• 24:54
  I
• 24:54
  want
• 24:54
  a
• 24:55
  farm
• 24:55
  table
• 24:55
  that
• 24:55
  seats
• 24:56
  12.
• 24:56
  And
• 24:56
  yeah,
• 24:57
  you
• 24:57
  go
• 24:57
  through
• 24:57
  the
• 24:57
  whole
• 24:58
  thing
• 24:58
  and
• 24:58
  then
• 24:58
  you
• 24:58
  design.
• 24:58
  Someone
• 24:59
  designs
• 24:59
  and
• 24:59
  they
• 24:59
  can
• 24:59
  only
• 25:00
  put
• 25:00
  a
• 25:00
  bistro
• 25:00
  table
• 25:01
  there.
• 25:01
  I've
• 25:01
  seen
• 25:01
  this
• 25:01
  happen
• 25:01
  so
• 25:02
  many
• 25:02
  times.
• 25:02
  So
• 25:03
  you
• 25:03
  have
• 25:03
  to
• 25:03
  understand
• 25:04
  what
• 25:04
  they're
• 25:04
  thinking
• 25:05
  or
• 25:05
  at
• 25:05
  least
• 25:05
  ask
• 25:06
  the
• 25:06
  question.
• 25:06
  And
• 25:06
  they,
• 25:06
  if
• 25:07
  they
• 25:07
  don't
• 25:07
  know,
• 25:08
  dig
• 25:08
  into
• 25:08
  it
• 25:08
  a
• 25:08
  little
• 25:09
  bit
• 25:09
  because
• 25:09
  it'll
• 25:09
  ultimately
• 25:10
  drive
• 25:10
  what
• 25:10
  that
• 25:11
  project
• 25:11
  will
• 25:11
  look
• 25:11
  like
• 25:12
  and
• 25:12
  how
• 25:12
  it'll
• 25:12
  be
• 25:12
  sized
• 25:12
  and
• 25:13
  shaped
• 25:13
  and
• 25:13
  all
• 25:13
  that.
• 25:14
  But
• 25:15
  you're
• 25:15
  so
• 25:16
  right
• 25:16
  because
• 25:16
  foundationally
• 25:17
  there's
• 25:17
  a
• 25:17
  post
• 25:18
  coming
• 25:18
  off
• 25:18
  that
• 25:18
  cover.
• 25:19
  Right?
• 25:19
  That's
• 25:19
  right.
• 25:19
  Where
• 25:19
  somebody
• 25:20
  wants
• 25:20
  to
• 25:20
  put
• 25:20
  that
• 25:21
  L
• 25:21
  shape
• 25:22
  exterior
• 25:22
  sectional
• 25:23
  couch
• 25:24
  because
• 25:24
  they
• 25:24
  didn't
• 25:24
  think
• 25:25
  about
• 25:25
  which
• 25:25
  way
• 25:25
  that
• 25:25
  was
• 25:25
  going
• 25:26
  to
• 25:26
  face
• 25:27
  and
• 25:28
  now
• 25:28
  they're
• 25:28
  in
• 25:28
  trouble
• 25:28
  because
• 25:29
  it's
• 25:29
  broken
• 25:29
  up
• 25:30
  and
• 25:30
  they
• 25:30
  got
• 25:30
  to
• 25:30
  come
• 25:30
  up
• 25:30
  with
• 25:30
  a
• 25:30
  different
• 25:31
  furniture
• 25:31
  choice.
• 25:32
  Yeah,
• 25:32
  no,
• 25:32
  absolutely.
• 25:34
  Yeah.
• 25:35
  That
• 25:35
  is
• 25:35
  cool.
• 25:36
  Lots
• 25:36
  to
• 25:36
  consider.
• 25:37
  There
• 25:37
  is.
• 25:38
  And
• 25:38
  what
• 25:38
  are
• 25:38
  you
• 25:38
  seeing
• 25:39
  in
• 25:39
  trends
• 25:39
  right
• 25:39
  now,
• 25:40
  Joe?
• 25:40
  There's
• 25:40
  so
• 25:41
  many
• 25:41
  things
• 25:41
  that
• 25:41
  are
• 25:41
  happening
• 25:42
  and
• 25:42
  so
• 25:42
  many
• 25:42
  things
• 25:42
  firing
• 25:43
  off.
• 25:43
  If
• 25:43
  you
• 25:43
  were
• 25:43
  going
• 25:43
  to
• 25:44
  say
• 25:44
  for
• 25:44
  20,
• 25:45
  25,
• 25:45
  what
• 25:45
  are
• 25:46
  you
• 25:46
  seeing
• 25:46
  out
• 25:46
  there
• 25:46
  as
• 25:47
  far
• 25:47
  as
• 25:47
  the
• 25:47
  expansion
• 25:48
  of
• 25:48
  this
• 25:48
  and
• 25:48
  all
• 25:48
  the
• 25:48
  beauty
• 25:49
  that's
• 25:49
  happening
• 25:49
  in
• 25:49
  the
• 25:49
  backyard
• 25:50
  or
• 25:50
  even
• 25:50
  front
• 25:51
  yard
• 25:51
  space?
• 25:52
  Yeah,
• 25:52
  that's
• 25:52
  a
• 25:53
  great
• 25:53
  question.
• 25:53
  I
• 25:53
  something
• 25:54
  that
• 25:54
  we
• 25:54
  study
• 25:54
  a
• 25:54
  lot
• 25:55
  and
• 25:55
  I
• 25:55
  try
• 25:55
  to
• 25:55
  connect
• 25:56
  with.
• 25:56
  And
• 25:57
  I
• 25:57
  think
• 25:57
  I'll
• 25:57
  go
• 25:58
  back
• 25:58
  to
• 25:58
  the
• 25:58
  beginning
• 25:58
  with
• 25:59
  the
• 25:59
  wellness
• 25:59
  trend.
• 26:00
  I
• 26:00
  think
• 26:00
  I
• 26:01
  would
• 26:01
  say
• 26:01
  this
• 26:01
  is
• 26:01
  a
• 26:02
  long
• 26:02
  term
• 26:02
  macro
• 26:03
  trend
• 26:03
  where
• 26:04
  again,
• 26:05
  people
• 26:05
  are
• 26:05
  realizing
• 26:06
  that
• 26:06
  these
• 26:06
  are
• 26:06
  important
• 26:07
  spaces
• 26:07
  and
• 26:07
  they're
• 26:08
  thinking
• 26:08
  about
• 26:08
  them
• 26:08
  differently.
• 26:09
  And
• 26:09
  really
• 26:10
  what
• 26:10
  that
• 26:10
  leads
• 26:10
  to
• 26:11
  is
• 26:12
  if
• 26:12
  I
• 26:12
  think
• 26:12
  about
• 26:12
  this
• 26:13
  space
• 26:13
  as
• 26:13
  something
• 26:13
  that
• 26:14
  I
• 26:14
  use
• 26:14
  on
• 26:14
  a
• 26:14
  daily
• 26:15
  basis
• 26:15
  and
• 26:15
  I'm
• 26:15
  hoping
• 26:16
  to
• 26:16
  achieve
• 26:16
  a
• 26:16
  better
• 26:17
  quality
• 26:18
  of
• 26:18
  life
• 26:18
  and
• 26:19
  overall
• 26:19
  health
• 26:19
  and
• 26:20
  better
• 26:20
  health
• 26:20
  and
• 26:20
  well
• 26:20
  being
• 26:21
  and
• 26:21
  also
• 26:22
  function.
• 26:23
  It's
• 26:23
  radically
• 26:23
  different
• 26:24
  than
• 26:24
  thinking
• 26:24
  about,
• 26:25
  I
• 26:25
  need
• 26:25
  a
• 26:25
  place
• 26:25
  that
• 26:26
  I
• 26:26
  can
• 26:26
  party
• 26:26
  and
• 26:26
  entertain
• 26:27
  six
• 26:27
  times
• 26:27
  in
• 26:27
  the
• 26:28
  summer.
• 26:28
  Totally
• 26:28
  different
• 26:29
  value
• 26:29
  proposition.
• 26:30
  So
• 26:31
  some
• 26:31
  of
• 26:31
  the
• 26:31
  things,
• 26:31
  the
• 26:32
  trends
• 26:32
  that
• 26:32
  come
• 26:32
  off
• 26:33
  of
• 26:33
  that,
• 26:33
  I
• 26:33
  would
• 26:34
  say
• 26:34
  all
• 26:34
  these
• 26:34
  are
• 26:35
  interconnected
• 26:35
  to
• 26:35
  some
• 26:36
  degree
• 26:36
  is
• 26:37
  when
• 26:37
  you
• 26:37
  think
• 26:38
  about
• 26:38
  some
• 26:38
  of
• 26:38
  the
• 26:38
  fundamental
• 26:39
  principles
• 26:40
  of
• 26:40
  biophilic
• 26:41
  design.
• 26:41
  Well,
• 26:42
  number
• 26:42
  one
• 26:43
  would
• 26:43
  probably
• 26:43
  be
• 26:43
  really
• 26:43
  that
• 26:43
  connection
• 26:44
  physically
• 26:45
  and
• 26:45
  visually
• 26:45
  to
• 26:46
  the
• 26:46
  exterior.
• 26:46
  You
• 26:46
  mentioned
• 26:47
  before
• 26:47
  where
• 26:47
  someone
• 26:47
  had
• 26:48
  a
• 26:48
  patio
• 26:48
  door
• 26:49
  or
• 26:49
  a
• 26:50
  window.
• 26:50
  Right.
• 26:50
  And
• 26:51
  so
• 26:51
  thinking
• 26:51
  about,
• 26:51
  like,
• 26:52
  how
• 26:52
  do
• 26:52
  we
• 26:52
  create
• 26:52
  a
• 26:53
  space
• 26:53
  that
• 26:53
  helps
• 26:54
  draw
• 26:54
  people
• 26:54
  out
• 26:55
  visually?
• 26:55
  So
• 26:55
  it
• 26:55
  might
• 26:56
  be
• 26:56
  where
• 26:56
  you
• 26:56
  position
• 26:56
  a
• 26:57
  fireplace
• 26:57
  or
• 26:58
  a
• 26:58
  water
• 26:58
  feature
• 26:58
  or
• 26:59
  a
• 26:59
  pool
• 27:00
  and
• 27:00
  how
• 27:00
  it's
• 27:00
  viewed
• 27:01
  from
• 27:01
  the
• 27:01
  inside,
• 27:01
  but
• 27:02
  then
• 27:02
  how
• 27:02
  do
• 27:02
  I
• 27:02
  access
• 27:03
  that
• 27:03
  space
• 27:04
  more
• 27:04
  seamlessly?
• 27:05
  And
• 27:05
  you
• 27:05
  think
• 27:05
  about
• 27:06
  zero
• 27:06
  edge
• 27:06
  Transitions,
• 27:07
  even
• 27:08
  nanowalls,
• 27:09
  large
• 27:09
  French
• 27:09
  doors,
• 27:10
  retractable
• 27:11
  screens,
• 27:12
  or
• 27:12
  even
• 27:12
  pass
• 27:13
  throughs
• 27:13
  where
• 27:13
  you
• 27:13
  have
• 27:13
  an
• 27:14
  indoor
• 27:14
  kitchen
• 27:15
  that
• 27:15
  opens
• 27:16
  up
• 27:16
  a
• 27:16
  window
• 27:16
  and
• 27:16
  all
• 27:16
  of
• 27:17
  a
• 27:17
  sudden
• 27:17
  there's
• 27:17
  someone
• 27:17
  on
• 27:17
  the
• 27:18
  outside
• 27:18
  and
• 27:18
  there's
• 27:18
  a
• 27:18
  bar
• 27:18
  there.
• 27:19
  Right?
• 27:19
  So
• 27:20
  you
• 27:20
  have
• 27:20
  this
• 27:20
  seamless,
• 27:21
  flowing
• 27:21
  transition
• 27:22
  between.
• 27:23
  I
• 27:23
  think
• 27:24
  yes,
• 27:25
  some
• 27:25
  of
• 27:25
  those
• 27:25
  things
• 27:25
  can
• 27:25
  be
• 27:26
  expensive,
• 27:26
  but
• 27:26
  a
• 27:26
  lot
• 27:27
  of
• 27:27
  that
• 27:27
  also
• 27:27
  is
• 27:28
  just
• 27:28
  a
• 27:28
  design
• 27:28
  choice.
• 27:29
  And
• 27:30
  I
• 27:30
  think
• 27:30
  it's
• 27:30
  interesting
• 27:31
  to
• 27:31
  talk
• 27:31
  to
• 27:31
  other
• 27:31
  designers
• 27:32
  on
• 27:32
  the
• 27:32
  inside.
• 27:33
  Oftentimes
• 27:34
  those
• 27:34
  choices,
• 27:35
  again,
• 27:35
  they
• 27:36
  don't
• 27:36
  necessarily
• 27:36
  cost
• 27:36
  any
• 27:37
  more
• 27:37
  money.
• 27:37
  It's
• 27:37
  just
• 27:37
  thinking
• 27:38
  of,
• 27:38
  hey,
• 27:39
  I'm
• 27:39
  going
• 27:39
  to
• 27:39
  build
• 27:39
  an
• 27:39
  indoor
• 27:40
  kitchen.
• 27:40
  Where
• 27:40
  should
• 27:40
  I
• 27:40
  put
• 27:40
  the
• 27:41
  outdoor
• 27:41
  kitchen?
• 27:42
  And
• 27:42
  by
• 27:42
  the
• 27:42
  way,
• 27:42
  this
• 27:43
  homeowner
• 27:43
  is
• 27:43
  very
• 27:43
  interested
• 27:44
  in
• 27:44
  growing
• 27:44
  an
• 27:44
  herb
• 27:44
  garden.
• 27:45
  Or
• 27:45
  maybe
• 27:45
  they
• 27:45
  have
• 27:45
  a
• 27:45
  brick
• 27:46
  oven
• 27:46
  like
• 27:46
  you
• 27:46
  said,
• 27:46
  and,
• 27:47
  or
• 27:47
  like
• 27:48
  to
• 27:48
  grill.
• 27:48
  And
• 27:48
  maybe
• 27:49
  I
• 27:49
  would
• 27:49
  put
• 27:49
  a
• 27:49
  salsa
• 27:50
  garden
• 27:50
  here
• 27:50
  in
• 27:50
  a
• 27:51
  raised
• 27:51
  bed
• 27:51
  or
• 27:51
  a
• 27:51
  vertical
• 27:52
  garden
• 27:53
  and
• 27:53
  just
• 27:53
  thinking
• 27:53
  about
• 27:53
  it
• 27:54
  in
• 27:54
  a
• 27:54
  much
• 27:54
  more
• 27:55
  holistic
• 27:55
  view,
• 27:55
  from
• 27:56
  a
• 27:56
  holistic
• 27:57
  viewpoint.
• 27:58
  And
• 27:58
  the
• 27:58
  other
• 27:58
  part
• 27:59
  of
• 27:59
  that
• 27:59
  I
• 27:59
  would
• 27:59
  say
• 27:59
  is
• 27:59
  thinking
• 28:00
  through
• 28:01
  how
• 28:02
  can
• 28:02
  I
• 28:02
  connect
• 28:02
  this
• 28:02
  space
• 28:03
  to.
• 28:03
  Because
• 28:03
  this
• 28:04
  is
• 28:04
  something
• 28:04
  I
• 28:04
  would
• 28:05
  say
• 28:05
  the
• 28:06
  majority
• 28:06
  is
• 28:07
  leaning
• 28:07
  toward,
• 28:08
  and
• 28:08
  certainly
• 28:08
  Millennials
• 28:09
  and
• 28:09
  Gen
• 28:09
  Z's
• 28:09
  are,
• 28:10
  is
• 28:10
  how
• 28:10
  do
• 28:11
  I
• 28:11
  make
• 28:12
  a
• 28:12
  bigger
• 28:12
  impact
• 28:13
  or
• 28:13
  less
• 28:13
  of
• 28:13
  an
• 28:14
  impact
• 28:14
  to
• 28:14
  the
• 28:15
  natural
• 28:15
  environment.
• 28:16
  And
• 28:16
  so
• 28:16
  that
• 28:16
  may
• 28:17
  be
• 28:17
  sustainable
• 28:18
  product,
• 28:18
  recycled
• 28:19
  content,
• 28:20
  but
• 28:20
  it
• 28:20
  also
• 28:21
  a
• 28:21
  big
• 28:21
  shift
• 28:22
  is
• 28:22
  thinking
• 28:22
  of
• 28:23
  where
• 28:23
  can
• 28:23
  I
• 28:23
  add
• 28:23
  a
• 28:24
  pollinator
• 28:24
  garden,
• 28:24
  how
• 28:25
  can
• 28:25
  I
• 28:25
  do
• 28:25
  some
• 28:25
  stormwater
• 28:26
  capture,
• 28:27
  how
• 28:27
  can
• 28:27
  I
• 28:28
  improve
• 28:28
  biodiversity
• 28:29
  in
• 28:30
  this
• 28:30
  area?
• 28:30
  Or
• 28:30
  how
• 28:30
  can
• 28:30
  I
• 28:30
  draw
• 28:31
  butterflies
• 28:32
  into
• 28:32
  my
• 28:32
  backyard?
• 28:33
  Where
• 28:33
  you
• 28:34
  start
• 28:34
  to
• 28:34
  immerse
• 28:35
  all
• 28:35
  the
• 28:35
  senses
• 28:36
  and
• 28:36
  they're
• 28:36
  thinking
• 28:36
  about
• 28:37
  all
• 28:37
  of
• 28:37
  it
• 28:38
  connected
• 28:38
  instead
• 28:39
  of
• 28:40
  again
• 28:40
  going
• 28:40
  back
• 28:40
  to
• 28:41
  what
• 28:41
  it
• 28:41
  used
• 28:41
  to
• 28:41
  be,
• 28:41
  where
• 28:42
  I
• 28:42
  just
• 28:42
  want
• 28:42
  a
• 28:43
  place
• 28:43
  to
• 28:43
  have
• 28:43
  a
• 28:43
  killer
• 28:44
  barbecue
• 28:44
  this
• 28:44
  weekend.
• 28:46
  That's
• 28:46
  a
• 28:46
  big
• 28:47
  part
• 28:47
  of
• 28:47
  it
• 28:47
  too.
• 28:48
  But
• 28:49
  the
• 28:49
  value
• 28:49
  proposition
• 28:50
  is
• 28:50
  way
• 28:50
  different.
• 28:51
  And
• 28:51
  people,
• 28:52
  if
• 28:53
  you're
• 28:53
  going
• 28:53
  to
• 28:53
  use
• 28:53
  a
• 28:53
  space
• 28:53
  every
• 28:54
  day,
• 28:54
  especially
• 28:54
  if
• 28:54
  you're
• 28:54
  in
• 28:55
  a
• 28:55
  pretty,
• 28:55
  a
• 28:55
  nice
• 28:56
  climate
• 28:56
  that's
• 28:56
  fairly
• 28:57
  year
• 28:57
  round,
• 28:57
  you're
• 28:58
  going
• 28:58
  to,
• 28:58
  you're
• 28:58
  willing
• 28:58
  to
• 28:58
  invest
• 28:59
  more
• 28:59
  in
• 28:59
  thinking
• 29:00
  about,
• 29:00
  I'm
• 29:00
  going
• 29:00
  to
• 29:00
  be
• 29:00
  out
• 29:01
  here
• 29:01
  every
• 29:01
  day,
• 29:01
  I
• 29:01
  might
• 29:01
  put
• 29:01
  an
• 29:01
  outdoor
• 29:02
  shower
• 29:02
  in,
• 29:02
  I'm
• 29:02
  going
• 29:02
  to
• 29:03
  do
• 29:03
  yoga
• 29:03
  out
• 29:04
  here,
• 29:04
  I'm
• 29:04
  going
• 29:04
  to
• 29:04
  work
• 29:04
  from
• 29:04
  home.
• 29:04
  So
• 29:05
  I
• 29:05
  need
• 29:05
  a
• 29:05
  wifi
• 29:06
  booster,
• 29:06
  I
• 29:07
  need
• 29:07
  some
• 29:07
  shade
• 29:07
  because
• 29:08
  it's
• 29:08
  hot
• 29:08
  right
• 29:08
  here
• 29:08
  and
• 29:09
  I'm
• 29:09
  going
• 29:09
  to
• 29:09
  be
• 29:09
  out
• 29:09
  here
• 29:09
  during
• 29:09
  the
• 29:09
  day.
• 29:10
  All
• 29:10
  those
• 29:10
  things
• 29:11
  start
• 29:11
  to
• 29:11
  change.
• 29:12
  And
• 29:14
  again,
• 29:14
  if
• 29:14
  you're
• 29:14
  not
• 29:14
  thinking
• 29:15
  about
• 29:15
  this,
• 29:15
  as
• 29:15
  a
• 29:15
  designer,
• 29:18
  I
• 29:18
  always
• 29:18
  said
• 29:18
  this
• 29:18
  isn't
• 29:19
  about
• 29:19
  manipulation,
• 29:20
  this
• 29:20
  is
• 29:20
  about
• 29:21
  understanding
• 29:22
  your
• 29:22
  client
• 29:23
  and
• 29:23
  giving
• 29:23
  Them
• 29:23
  the
• 29:24
  best
• 29:24
  possible
• 29:24
  environment
• 29:25
  for
• 29:25
  their
• 29:26
  life
• 29:26
  and
• 29:27
  how
• 29:27
  you
• 29:27
  can
• 29:27
  help
• 29:27
  them
• 29:28
  prove
• 29:28
  their
• 29:28
  life.
• 29:29
  And
• 29:29
  if
• 29:29
  you
• 29:29
  come
• 29:29
  in
• 29:30
  with
• 29:30
  that
• 29:30
  attitude
• 29:31
  and
• 29:31
  you're
• 29:32
  sincere
• 29:32
  about
• 29:32
  it,
• 29:33
  that's
• 29:33
  something
• 29:33
  you
• 29:33
  can't
• 29:33
  fake,
• 29:34
  man.
• 29:35
  The
• 29:35
  contractors
• 29:36
  who
• 29:36
  are
• 29:36
  embracing
• 29:37
  this,
• 29:37
  designers
• 29:38
  who
• 29:38
  are
• 29:38
  have
• 29:39
  so
• 29:39
  much
• 29:39
  work
• 29:40
  that
• 29:41
  you
• 29:41
  start
• 29:41
  talking
• 29:41
  about,
• 29:42
  hey,
• 29:42
  I
• 29:42
  understand
• 29:43
  you
• 29:43
  asked
• 29:43
  for
• 29:43
  a
• 29:43
  patio.
• 29:44
  I
• 29:44
  want
• 29:45
  to
• 29:45
  talk
• 29:45
  about
• 29:45
  health
• 29:45
  and
• 29:46
  wellness
• 29:46
  and
• 29:46
  what
• 29:46
  you
• 29:46
  hope
• 29:47
  to
• 29:47
  achieve
• 29:47
  with
• 29:47
  this
• 29:47
  space.
• 29:48
  Totally
• 29:48
  different
• 29:49
  conversation.
• 29:50
  The
• 29:50
  homeowners.
• 29:50
  What
• 29:51
  are
• 29:51
  you
• 29:51
  talking
• 29:51
  about?
• 29:51
  I
• 29:51
  asked
• 29:52
  you
• 29:52
  to
• 29:52
  put
• 29:52
  pavers
• 29:52
  in.
• 29:53
  I
• 29:53
  understand
• 29:53
  that
• 29:54
  you
• 29:54
  asked
• 29:54
  me
• 29:54
  that,
• 29:54
  but
• 29:54
  I'm
• 29:54
  going
• 29:55
  to
• 29:55
  tell
• 29:55
  you
• 29:55
  a
• 29:55
  little
• 29:55
  bit
• 29:55
  about
• 29:55
  what
• 29:56
  we
• 29:56
  know
• 29:56
  about
• 29:57
  the
• 29:57
  importance
• 29:57
  of
• 29:58
  being
• 29:58
  outside
• 29:58
  and
• 29:58
  how
• 29:58
  this
• 29:59
  space
• 29:59
  can
• 29:59
  impact
• 30:00
  you,
• 30:00
  your
• 30:00
  children,
• 30:01
  your
• 30:01
  neighbor,
• 30:01
  your
• 30:01
  family.
• 30:02
  And
• 30:03
  man,
• 30:03
  I've
• 30:04
  had
• 30:04
  this
• 30:04
  conversation
• 30:04
  many
• 30:05
  times
• 30:05
  over
• 30:05
  the
• 30:05
  last
• 30:05
  few
• 30:06
  years,
• 30:06
  and
• 30:06
  people
• 30:06
  get
• 30:06
  emotional
• 30:07
  about
• 30:07
  it
• 30:07
  because
• 30:08
  most
• 30:08
  people,
• 30:09
  I
• 30:09
  don't
• 30:09
  think,
• 30:09
  understand
• 30:10
  why
• 30:10
  they
• 30:10
  want
• 30:11
  this
• 30:11
  space,
• 30:12
  but
• 30:12
  it's
• 30:12
  absolutely
• 30:13
  intrinsic.
• 30:14
  It's
• 30:14
  fundamental
• 30:15
  in
• 30:15
  our
• 30:15
  DNA
• 30:15
  that
• 30:16
  we
• 30:16
  are
• 30:16
  drawn
• 30:16
  out
• 30:17
  to
• 30:17
  these
• 30:17
  outdoor
• 30:17
  spaces.
• 30:18
  And
• 30:19
  I
• 30:19
  think
• 30:19
  when
• 30:19
  you
• 30:19
  start
• 30:20
  to
• 30:20
  connect
• 30:20
  the
• 30:20
  dots,
• 30:21
  it
• 30:22
  seems
• 30:22
  so
• 30:22
  obvious.
• 30:23
  Right.
• 30:23
  Like
• 30:23
  you
• 30:23
  said.
• 30:24
  Yeah.
• 30:24
  I'm
• 30:24
  outside,
• 30:24
  I
• 30:25
  see
• 30:25
  this
• 30:25
  bird
• 30:25
  and
• 30:26
  I
• 30:26
  feel
• 30:26
  the
• 30:26
  wind.
• 30:26
  I
• 30:27
  feel
• 30:27
  the
• 30:27
  sun
• 30:28
  on
• 30:28
  my
• 30:28
  face
• 30:28
  like
• 30:29
  the
• 30:29
  muse.
• 30:29
  Everything
• 30:29
  just,
• 30:30
  everything
• 30:31
  feels
• 30:31
  better.
• 30:32
  And.
• 30:32
  Yeah.
• 30:33
  So
• 30:33
  I
• 30:33
  think
• 30:34
  when
• 30:34
  you
• 30:34
  dig
• 30:34
  into
• 30:34
  that,
• 30:35
  the
• 30:35
  conversation
• 30:36
  then
• 30:36
  becomes
• 30:37
  so
• 30:37
  different.
• 30:38
  Like,
• 30:38
  we,
• 30:38
  we
• 30:39
  can
• 30:39
  talk
• 30:39
  about
• 30:39
  product
• 30:40
  later.
• 30:40
  And
• 30:40
  I
• 30:40
  realize
• 30:41
  I
• 30:41
  work
• 30:41
  for
• 30:41
  a
• 30:41
  manufacturer
• 30:42
  and
• 30:42
  that's
• 30:42
  important
• 30:42
  to
• 30:42
  us,
• 30:43
  but
• 30:43
  product
• 30:44
  should
• 30:44
  be
• 30:44
  way
• 30:44
  down
• 30:45
  on
• 30:45
  the
• 30:45
  discussion
• 30:46
  list.
• 30:46
  You
• 30:47
  need
• 30:47
  to
• 30:47
  solve
• 30:47
  these
• 30:48
  first
• 30:48
  and
• 30:49
  that'll
• 30:49
  help
• 30:49
  solve
• 30:49
  that
• 30:50
  later
• 30:50
  on.
• 30:51
  Yeah.
• 30:51
  One
• 30:51
  of
• 30:52
  my
• 30:52
  favorite
• 30:52
  tricks
• 30:52
  as
• 30:53
  a
• 30:53
  kitchen
• 30:53
  and
• 30:53
  bath
• 30:54
  designer
• 30:54
  is
• 30:55
  we
• 30:55
  were
• 30:55
  doing
• 30:55
  that
• 30:55
  kitchen
• 30:56
  dining
• 30:56
  room
• 30:56
  or
• 30:57
  whatever,
• 30:57
  and
• 30:57
  the
• 30:57
  door
• 30:57
  went
• 30:57
  out
• 30:58
  to
• 30:58
  the
• 30:58
  patio
• 30:58
  from
• 30:58
  there.
• 30:59
  And
• 30:59
  we
• 30:59
  were
• 30:59
  doing
• 30:59
  an
• 30:59
  outdoor
• 31:00
  space
• 31:00
  as
• 31:00
  well,
• 31:01
  or
• 31:01
  they
• 31:01
  were
• 31:01
  even
• 31:02
  planning
• 31:02
  an
• 31:02
  outdoor
• 31:03
  space
• 31:03
  and
• 31:03
  maybe
• 31:03
  they
• 31:03
  had
• 31:03
  a
• 31:04
  covered
• 31:04
  area
• 31:05
  was
• 31:05
  to
• 31:05
  bring
• 31:05
  the
• 31:05
  tile
• 31:06
  that
• 31:06
  was
• 31:06
  in
• 31:06
  the
• 31:06
  kitchen,
• 31:07
  if
• 31:07
  it
• 31:07
  would
• 31:07
  work
• 31:08
  outside,
• 31:08
  to
• 31:08
  bring
• 31:08
  that
• 31:09
  through
• 31:09
  the
• 31:09
  nanowall
• 31:10
  or
• 31:10
  door
• 31:11
  system.
• 31:11
  Yep.
• 31:12
  And
• 31:12
  take
• 31:12
  it
• 31:13
  out
• 31:13
  into
• 31:13
  that
• 31:13
  entry
• 31:14
  out
• 31:14
  there
• 31:14
  to
• 31:15
  make
• 31:15
  it
• 31:15
  inviting.
• 31:15
  So
• 31:16
  it
• 31:16
  seems
• 31:16
  like
• 31:16
  it's
• 31:17
  seamless,
• 31:17
  that
• 31:17
  outside
• 31:18
  is
• 31:18
  still
• 31:18
  on
• 31:18
  the
• 31:18
  inside.
• 31:19
  And
• 31:20
  then
• 31:20
  as
• 31:20
  it
• 31:20
  went
• 31:20
  out
• 31:21
  into
• 31:21
  the
• 31:21
  elements,
• 31:21
  you
• 31:22
  could
• 31:22
  transition
• 31:22
  over
• 31:23
  into
• 31:23
  a
• 31:24
  complimentary
• 31:25
  or
• 31:25
  color
• 31:25
  matching
• 31:26
  decking
• 31:26
  product.
• 31:27
  And
• 31:27
  it
• 31:28
  just
• 31:28
  looks
• 31:29
  absolutely
• 31:30
  stunning.
• 31:30
  And
• 31:31
  technology
• 31:31
  these
• 31:32
  days
• 31:32
  and
• 31:32
  the
• 31:33
  selection
• 31:33
  of
• 31:34
  materials
• 31:34
  has
• 31:34
  made
• 31:34
  that
• 31:35
  so
• 31:35
  much
• 31:35
  easier
• 31:35
  to
• 31:36
  do.
• 31:36
  And
• 31:36
  it's
• 31:37
  just
• 31:37
  so
• 31:37
  darn
• 31:38
  inviting
• 31:39
  when
• 31:39
  it
• 31:39
  all
• 31:39
  makes
• 31:40
  sense.
• 31:40
  Yeah.
• 31:41
  And
• 31:41
  it's
• 31:41
  interesting.
• 31:41
  I've,
• 31:42
  as
• 31:42
  you
• 31:42
  said,
• 31:43
  when
• 31:43
  you
• 31:43
  get
• 31:43
  those
• 31:43
  space,
• 31:44
  the
• 31:44
  ones
• 31:44
  that
• 31:44
  are
• 31:45
  done
• 31:45
  really
• 31:45
  well,
• 31:46
  you'll
• 31:47
  be
• 31:47
  in
• 31:47
  those
• 31:47
  spaces.
• 31:47
  I've
• 31:48
  been
• 31:48
  to
• 31:48
  events
• 31:48
  and
• 31:48
  I've
• 31:49
  been
• 31:49
  to
• 31:49
  people's
• 31:49
  homes
• 31:49
  that
• 31:50
  have
• 31:50
  them.
• 31:50
  And
• 31:50
  as
• 31:50
  you
• 31:50
  have
• 31:51
  and
• 31:51
  you
• 31:51
  think
• 31:52
  all
• 31:52
  of
• 31:52
  a
• 31:52
  sudden
• 31:52
  you
• 31:53
  realize
• 31:53
  you're
• 31:53
  like,
• 31:53
  wait
• 31:53
  a
• 31:53
  minute,
• 31:54
  I'm
• 31:54
  not
• 31:54
  actually
• 31:54
  in
• 31:54
  the
• 31:55
  house
• 31:55
  anymore.
• 31:55
  I'm
• 31:55
  actually
• 31:55
  out
• 31:56
  on
• 31:56
  a
• 31:56
  porch.
• 31:57
  But
• 31:57
  I
• 31:57
  feel
• 31:57
  like
• 31:57
  I'm
• 31:58
  in
• 31:58
  the
• 31:58
  kitchen.
• 31:59
  And
• 31:59
  those
• 32:00
  insane
• 32:01
  that
• 32:01
  blurring
• 32:01
  of
• 32:01
  the
• 32:01
  lines
• 32:02
  is
• 32:02
  really
• 32:03
  think
• 32:03
  about
• 32:03
  how
• 32:04
  engaging
• 32:04
  that
• 32:04
  is
• 32:05
  right
• 32:05
  where
• 32:06
  or
• 32:06
  if
• 32:06
  you're
• 32:06
  in
• 32:06
  the
• 32:06
  house,
• 32:07
  you're
• 32:07
  like,
• 32:07
  what
• 32:07
  is
• 32:07
  going
• 32:08
  on
• 32:08
  out
• 32:08
  there?
• 32:08
  And
• 32:08
  it
• 32:09
  pulls
• 32:09
  people
• 32:09
  out
• 32:09
  of
• 32:09
  there,
• 32:10
  gets
• 32:10
  us
• 32:10
  off
• 32:11
  our
• 32:11
  screens,
• 32:11
  off
• 32:11
  our
• 32:12
  devices,
• 32:12
  and
• 32:12
  we're
• 32:13
  out
• 32:13
  engaging
• 32:14
  with
• 32:14
  the
• 32:14
  natural
• 32:14
  world,
• 32:15
  having
• 32:15
  conversations,
• 32:16
  food
• 32:16
  and
• 32:17
  all
• 32:17
  of
• 32:17
  the
• 32:17
  above.
• 32:17
  It's
• 32:18
  what
• 32:18
  it's
• 32:18
  really
• 32:19
  what
• 32:19
  life
• 32:19
  is
• 32:19
  about
• 32:20
  at
• 32:20
  the
• 32:20
  end
• 32:21
  of
• 32:21
  the
• 32:21
  day
• 32:21
  is
• 32:21
  trying
• 32:22
  to
• 32:23
  create
• 32:23
  a
• 32:23
  space
• 32:23
  that
• 32:24
  fosters
• 32:24
  those
• 32:24
  types
• 32:25
  of
• 32:25
  interactions,
• 32:25
  which
• 32:26
  I
• 32:26
  think
• 32:27
  is
• 32:27
  what
• 32:27
  really
• 32:27
  is
• 32:28
  what's
• 32:28
  driving
• 32:28
  people
• 32:29
  to
• 32:29
  want
• 32:30
  these
• 32:30
  types
• 32:30
  of
• 32:30
  spaces.
• 32:32
  It's
• 32:32
  funny,
• 32:32
  I'm
• 32:32
  in
• 32:32
  the
• 32:32
  Pacific
• 32:33
  Northwest,
• 32:33
  so
• 32:34
  we,
• 32:34
  we
• 32:34
  have
• 32:34
  some
• 32:34
  winters
• 32:35
  that
• 32:35
  are
• 32:35
  less
• 32:36
  than
• 32:36
  desirable
• 32:36
  at
• 32:37
  times
• 32:37
  to
• 32:37
  be
• 32:37
  hanging
• 32:38
  out
• 32:38
  outside.
• 32:38
  But
• 32:39
  it
• 32:39
  could
• 32:40
  be
• 32:40
  50
• 32:40
  degrees
• 32:41
  outside.
• 32:41
  And
• 32:42
  if
• 32:42
  I've
• 32:42
  got
• 32:42
  a
• 32:42
  dinner
• 32:43
  party
• 32:43
  at
• 32:43
  my
• 32:43
  house
• 32:44
  and
• 32:44
  I'm
• 32:45
  outside
• 32:45
  cooking
• 32:45
  pizzas,
• 32:46
  for
• 32:46
  instance,
• 32:46
  all
• 32:47
  of
• 32:47
  a
• 32:47
  sudden
• 32:48
  around
• 32:48
  the
• 32:48
  house.
• 32:48
  We'll
• 32:49
  be
• 32:49
  right
• 32:49
  back
• 32:49
  with
• 32:49
  our
• 32:50
  special
• 32:50
  Memorial
• 32:51
  Day
• 32:51
  Best

• 32:52

• 32:52
  with
• 32:53
  Joe
• 32:53
  Raboine
• 32:54
  after
• 32:54
  these
• 32:54
  important

• 35:01
  continue

  the

• 35:03
  Yeah,
• 35:03
  that
• 35:03
  is
• 35:03
  cool.
• 35:04
  Before
• 35:04
  we
• 35:04
  run
• 35:05
  out
• 35:05
  of
• 35:05
  time,
• 35:05
  what
• 35:05
  other
• 35:06
  brands
• 35:06
  of
• 35:06
  stuff
• 35:06
  are
• 35:06
  hot
• 35:07
  right
• 35:07
  now
• 35:07
  that
• 35:07
  you
• 35:07
  guys,
• 35:07
  we
• 35:08
  could
• 35:08
  sit
• 35:08
  here
• 35:08
  for
• 35:08
  another
• 35:08
  two
• 35:09
  hours,
• 35:09
  do
• 35:09
  a
• 35:09
  Joe
• 35:10
  Rogan
• 35:10
  style
• 35:10
  thing
• 35:10
  and
• 35:11
  talk
• 35:11
  about
• 35:11
  product,
• 35:11
  but
• 35:12
  just
• 35:12
  because
• 35:12
  it's
• 35:13
  a
• 35:13
  mile
• 35:13
  deep,
• 35:14
  I'd
• 35:14
  have
• 35:14
  I'd
• 35:15
  be
• 35:15
  on
• 35:15
  page
• 35:15
  two
• 35:15
  of
• 35:16
  the
• 35:16
  list
• 35:16
  of
• 35:16
  things
• 35:16
  that
• 35:16
  we
• 35:17
  could
• 35:17
  be
• 35:17
  talking
• 35:17
  about.
• 35:17
  But
• 35:18
  you
• 35:19
  guys
• 35:19
  have
• 35:19
  the
• 35:19
  whole
• 35:20
  outdoor
• 35:20
  space
• 35:20
  covered,
• 35:21
  which
• 35:21
  is
• 35:21
  cool.
• 35:22
  Yeah.
• 35:22
  We
• 35:22
  look
• 35:22
  at
• 35:23
  what's
• 35:23
  interesting.
• 35:24
  Again,
• 35:24
  if
• 35:24
  you
• 35:24
  go
• 35:24
  back
• 35:24
  to
• 35:24
  our
• 35:25
  history
• 35:25
  was
• 35:25
  primarily
• 35:26
  hardscape
• 35:27
  masonry.
• 35:27
  And
• 35:27
  now
• 35:28
  that
• 35:28
  we're
• 35:28
  in
• 35:28
  all
• 35:29
  the
• 35:29
  other
• 35:29
  pieces,
• 35:30
  the
• 35:30
  reality
• 35:30
  is,
• 35:31
  and
• 35:31
  this
• 35:31
  is
• 35:31
  what
• 35:31
  led
• 35:31
  to
• 35:32
  a
• 35:32
  lot
• 35:32
  of
• 35:32
  this
• 35:32
  is
• 35:32
  most
• 35:32
  projects
• 35:33
  have
• 35:33
  they
• 35:34
  may
• 35:34
  have
• 35:34
  a
• 35:34
  deck
• 35:35
  on
• 35:35
  part
• 35:35
  of
• 35:35
  it.
• 35:35
  They
• 35:35
  may
• 35:35
  have
• 35:36
  a
• 35:36
  stone
• 35:36
  wall,
• 35:37
  natural
• 35:37
  stone
• 35:38
  steps,
• 35:38
  all
• 35:38
  the
• 35:39
  above.
• 35:39
  And
• 35:39
  but
• 35:40
  a
• 35:40
  lot
• 35:40
  of
• 35:40
  these
• 35:40
  projects,
• 35:41
  people,
• 35:41
  from
• 35:41
  a
• 35:42
  design
• 35:42
  perspective,
• 35:42
  they
• 35:43
  also
• 35:43
  really
• 35:43
  prefer,
• 35:43
  I
• 35:44
  would
• 35:44
  say,
• 35:44
  mixed
• 35:44
  materials
• 35:45
  and
• 35:45
  number
• 35:45
  one,
• 35:46
  we're
• 35:46
  making
• 35:46
  sure,
• 35:46
  as
• 35:46
  I
• 35:46
  mentioned,
• 35:47
  that
• 35:47
  all
• 35:47
  these
• 35:47
  products
• 35:47
  kind
• 35:48
  of
• 35:48
  work
• 35:48
  together
• 35:48
  and
• 35:48
  that
• 35:49
  we're
• 35:49
  thinking
• 35:49
  about
• 35:49
  color
• 35:50
  palettes
• 35:50
  and
• 35:50
  design
• 35:50
  and
• 35:51
  shape
• 35:51
  and
• 35:51
  all
• 35:51
  that
• 35:52
  texture,
• 35:52
  all
• 35:52
  that
• 35:52
  kind
• 35:53
  of
• 35:53
  holistically.
• 35:54
  But
• 35:54
  we're
• 35:54
  also
• 35:55
  looking
• 35:55
  at
• 35:55
  solutions
• 35:56
  that.
• 35:56
  For
• 35:56
  instance,
• 35:57
  there's
• 35:57
  a
• 35:57
  product
• 35:57
  called
• 35:58
  Instadeck,
• 35:59
  which
• 35:59
  is
• 35:59
  a
• 35:59
  revolutionary
• 36:00
  product.
• 36:00
  It's
• 36:01
  actually
• 36:01
  designed.
• 36:02
  It's
• 36:02
  the
• 36:02
  same
• 36:02
  thickness
• 36:03
  as
• 36:03
  a
• 36:03
  paver
• 36:04
  and
• 36:04
  it's
• 36:04
  designed
• 36:05
  to
• 36:05
  be
• 36:05
  laid
• 36:05
  on
• 36:05
  the
• 36:05
  same
• 36:06
  substrate,
• 36:06
  same
• 36:07
  base
• 36:07
  prep
• 36:07
  as
• 36:07
  a
• 36:08
  paver
• 36:08
  would
• 36:08
  be.
• 36:09
  The
• 36:09
  cool
• 36:09
  part
• 36:09
  about
• 36:09
  that
• 36:10
  is
• 36:10
  you
• 36:10
  can
• 36:10
  now
• 36:10
  get
• 36:11
  a
• 36:11
  grade
• 36:11
  flush
• 36:12
  level
• 36:12
  deck
• 36:12
  look
• 36:13
  right
• 36:14
  at
• 36:14
  grade
• 36:14
  level.
• 36:15
  And
• 36:15
  you
• 36:16
  can
• 36:16
  even
• 36:16
  use
• 36:16
  it
• 36:16
  around
• 36:16
  a
• 36:17
  pool
• 36:17
  where
• 36:17
  it's
• 36:17
  technically
• 36:18
  permeable
• 36:18
  because
• 36:19
  the
• 36:19
  water
• 36:19
  would
• 36:19
  flow
• 36:19
  through
• 36:19
  the
• 36:20
  joints,
• 36:20
  the
• 36:20
  spacers.
• 36:21
  But
• 36:21
  you
• 36:21
  can
• 36:21
  mix
• 36:21
  and
• 36:21
  match
• 36:22
  pavers
• 36:22
  as
• 36:22
  well.
• 36:22
  So
• 36:23
  you
• 36:23
  can
• 36:23
  bring
• 36:23
  that
• 36:24
  look
• 36:24
  of
• 36:24
  that
• 36:25
  deck
• 36:25
  right
• 36:25
  down
• 36:25
  into
• 36:26
  the
• 36:26
  landscape.
• 36:26
  And
• 36:27
  if
• 36:27
  you
• 36:27
  want
• 36:27
  to,
• 36:27
  you
• 36:28
  could
• 36:28
  blend
• 36:28
  it
• 36:28
  with
• 36:28
  pavers
• 36:28
  and
• 36:29
  create
• 36:29
  patterns
• 36:29
  and
• 36:30
  whatnot.
• 36:30
  But
• 36:31
  it.
• 36:32
  That's
• 36:32
  one
• 36:32
  example
• 36:33
  of
• 36:33
  we're
• 36:33
  just
• 36:33
  looking
• 36:34
  at
• 36:34
  our
• 36:34
  materials
• 36:35
  differently.
• 36:36
  And
• 36:37
  a
• 36:37
  solution
• 36:37
  like
• 36:38
  that.
• 36:38
  You've
• 36:38
  been
• 36:38
  in
• 36:39
  construction
• 36:39
  like
• 36:39
  to
• 36:39
  do
• 36:40
  something
• 36:40
  like
• 36:40
  that
• 36:41
  without
• 36:41
  that
• 36:41
  system,
• 36:42
  man,
• 36:42
  you're
• 36:43
  just.
• 36:44
  You're
• 36:44
  talking
• 36:44
  about
• 36:44
  a
• 36:44
  little
• 36:44
  bit
• 36:44
  of
• 36:45
  engineering
• 36:45
  and
• 36:45
  probably
• 36:45
  had
• 36:46
  a.
• 36:46
  Gonna
• 36:46
  have
• 36:46
  some
• 36:46
  issues
• 36:47
  with
• 36:47
  it
• 36:47
  down
• 36:47
  the
• 36:48
  road
• 36:48
  at
• 36:48
  some
• 36:48
  point
• 36:48
  with
• 36:49
  building
• 36:49
  a
• 36:49
  structure
• 36:50
  underneath,
• 36:50
  trying
• 36:50
  to
• 36:50
  anchor
• 36:51
  it
• 36:51
  all
• 36:51
  the
• 36:51
  above.
• 36:52
  And
• 36:52
  not
• 36:52
  creating
• 36:53
  my
• 36:53
  own
• 36:53
  second
• 36:54
  swimming
• 36:54
  pool
• 36:54
  under
• 36:55
  my
• 36:55
  deck
• 36:55
  that
• 36:56
  my
• 36:56
  winter
• 36:56
  rains
• 36:57
  have
• 36:57
  a
• 36:57
  place
• 36:58
  to
• 36:58
  go.
• 36:58
  It's
• 36:58
  like.
• 36:59
  Exactly.
• 36:59
  Oh
• 37:00
  yeah,
• 37:00
  it's.
• 37:01
  It
• 37:01
  would
• 37:01
  be
• 37:01
  like
• 37:02
  just
• 37:02
  another
• 37:03
  swamp
• 37:04
  pool
• 37:04
  underneath
• 37:04
  there.
• 37:05
  So
• 37:05
  that
• 37:05
  would
• 37:05
  be
• 37:05
  horrible.
• 37:06
  But
• 37:06
  that
• 37:06
  changes
• 37:07
  everything.
• 37:08
  To
• 37:08
  give
• 37:08
  you
• 37:08
  that
• 37:09
  seamless
• 37:10
  transition
• 37:10
  where
• 37:10
  you
• 37:10
  could
• 37:11
  come
• 37:11
  down
• 37:11
  those
• 37:11
  stairs
• 37:12
  and
• 37:12
  transition
• 37:13
  into
• 37:13
  that
• 37:13
  and
• 37:14
  really
• 37:14
  make
• 37:15
  some
• 37:15
  really
• 37:16
  cool
• 37:16
  design
• 37:16
  features
• 37:17
  with
• 37:17
  that.
• 37:17
  Yeah,
• 37:18
  absolutely.
• 37:19
  So
• 37:19
  then
• 37:19
  also
• 37:19
  thinking
• 37:20
  through,
• 37:20
  as
• 37:20
  you
• 37:20
  mentioned,
• 37:21
  lighting
• 37:21
  and
• 37:21
  making
• 37:21
  sure
• 37:21
  we
• 37:22
  have
• 37:22
  the
• 37:22
  different
• 37:22
  lighting
• 37:23
  components
• 37:23
  to
• 37:24
  support
• 37:24
  that
• 37:25
  entire
• 37:25
  space
• 37:25
  from
• 37:26
  the
• 37:26
  deck
• 37:26
  all
• 37:26
  the
• 37:26
  way
• 37:27
  down
• 37:27
  the
• 37:28
  fencing
• 37:28
  and
• 37:28
  rail
• 37:28
  piece,
• 37:29
  that's
• 37:29
  huge.
• 37:29
  Different
• 37:30
  railing
• 37:30
  styles.
• 37:31
  We
• 37:31
  have
• 37:31
  a
• 37:31
  new
• 37:32
  cable
• 37:32
  rail,
• 37:33
  elevation
• 37:33
  cable
• 37:33
  rail,
• 37:34
  which
• 37:34
  is
• 37:34
  a
• 37:34
  pre
• 37:35
  strung
• 37:35
  cable
• 37:35
  rail,
• 37:36
  which
• 37:36
  you
• 37:36
  basically
• 37:36
  just
• 37:36
  open
• 37:37
  it
• 37:37
  up
• 37:37
  and
• 37:37
  you
• 37:37
  tighten
• 37:38
  it
• 37:38
  down.
• 37:38
  And
• 37:38
  it's
• 37:39
  got
• 37:39
  like
• 37:39
  this
• 37:39
  pulley
• 37:40
  system
• 37:40
  so
• 37:40
  you
• 37:40
  don't
• 37:41
  have
• 37:41
  to
• 37:41
  go
• 37:41
  and
• 37:41
  tighten
• 37:41
  every
• 37:42
  individual
• 37:43
  cable
• 37:43
  up.
• 37:44
  These
• 37:44
  are
• 37:44
  examples
• 37:45
  of.
• 37:45
  We're
• 37:46
  trying
• 37:46
  to
• 37:46
  make
• 37:46
  sure
• 37:47
  what
• 37:47
  we're
• 37:47
  doing
• 37:47
  is
• 37:48
  also
• 37:48
  easier
• 37:48
  to
• 37:48
  install.
• 37:49
  Not
• 37:49
  just
• 37:50
  beautiful,
• 37:51
  not
• 37:51
  on
• 37:51
  point
• 37:52
  with
• 37:52
  design,
• 37:52
  which
• 37:52
  those
• 37:53
  things
• 37:53
  are
• 37:53
  key.
• 37:53
  But
• 37:54
  we
• 37:54
  also
• 37:54
  know
• 37:55
  that
• 37:55
  that
• 37:55
  labor
• 37:56
  is
• 37:56
  a
• 37:56
  challenge.
• 37:56
  Right.
• 37:56
  And
• 37:57
  so
• 37:57
  our
• 37:57
  pool
• 37:58
  of
• 37:58
  labor
• 37:58
  is
• 37:58
  probably
• 37:58
  not
• 37:59
  going
• 37:59
  to
• 37:59
  get
• 37:59
  any
• 37:59
  larger.
• 38:00
  This
• 38:00
  may
• 38:00
  in
• 38:00
  Fact
• 38:00
  may
• 38:01
  shrink.
• 38:01
  So
• 38:02
  we
• 38:02
  got
• 38:02
  to
• 38:02
  figure
• 38:02
  out
• 38:02
  solutions
• 38:03
  to
• 38:03
  improve
• 38:03
  on
• 38:04
  the
• 38:04
  speed
• 38:04
  of
• 38:04
  it.
• 38:04
  And
• 38:05
  that's
• 38:05
  an
• 38:05
  example
• 38:06
  of
• 38:06
  that.
• 38:06
  Instadeck,
• 38:07
  again,
• 38:07
  is,
• 38:07
  I
• 38:07
  would
• 38:08
  say
• 38:08
  another
• 38:08
  example
• 38:08
  of
• 38:09
  that.
• 38:09
  So
• 38:09
  we're
• 38:10
  looking
• 38:10
  through
• 38:10
  that
• 38:10
  lens.
• 38:11
  So
• 38:11
  we
• 38:11
  see
• 38:12
  design,
• 38:12
  installation,
• 38:13
  color,
• 38:13
  texture,
• 38:14
  all
• 38:14
  those
• 38:14
  things
• 38:14
  working
• 38:15
  and
• 38:15
  in
• 38:16
  unison
• 38:16
  to
• 38:16
  make
• 38:17
  sure
• 38:18
  we're
• 38:18
  reinventing
• 38:18
  the
• 38:19
  way
• 38:19
  we
• 38:19
  approach
• 38:19
  it.
• 38:20
  Yeah,
• 38:20
  I
• 38:20
  love
• 38:20
  railing
• 38:21
  options
• 38:21
  because
• 38:21
  so
• 38:22
  many
• 38:22
  people
• 38:22
  get
• 38:22
  done
• 38:22
  with
• 38:23
  planning
• 38:23
  the
• 38:23
  deck
• 38:23
  and
• 38:24
  they
• 38:24
  go,
• 38:24
  now
• 38:24
  I
• 38:24
  got
• 38:24
  to
• 38:24
  do
• 38:24
  the
• 38:24
  railing.
• 38:25
  And
• 38:25
  then
• 38:25
  they
• 38:25
  cringe
• 38:26
  because
• 38:26
  they
• 38:26
  know
• 38:26
  what
• 38:26
  they
• 38:27
  got
• 38:27
  to
• 38:27
  spend
• 38:27
  on
• 38:27
  railing
• 38:28
  to
• 38:28
  get
• 38:28
  something
• 38:29
  cool.
• 38:29
  And
• 38:30
  if
• 38:30
  you
• 38:30
  can
• 38:30
  do
• 38:30
  something
• 38:30
  that
• 38:31
  saves
• 38:31
  on
• 38:31
  the
• 38:31
  labor
• 38:31
  that
• 38:32
  really
• 38:32
  helps
• 38:33
  that
• 38:33
  project
• 38:33
  get
• 38:33
  off
• 38:34
  the
• 38:34
  ground.
• 38:34
  Yeah,
• 38:35
  for
• 38:35
  sure.
• 38:35
  The
• 38:36
  other
• 38:36
  thing
• 38:36
  I
• 38:36
  would
• 38:36
  say
• 38:36
  is
• 38:37
  also
• 38:37
  a
• 38:37
  macro
• 38:38
  trend
• 38:38
  is
• 38:39
  that
• 38:39
  the
• 38:39
  yards,
• 38:40
  American
• 38:40
  yards,
• 38:40
  are
• 38:41
  shrinking
• 38:41
  like
• 38:41
  radically
• 38:42
  as
• 38:42
  and
• 38:43
  sheesh.
• 38:44
  Anybody
• 38:44
  who's
• 38:44
  been
• 38:45
  around
• 38:45
  a
• 38:45
  big
• 38:45
  city
• 38:45
  can
• 38:46
  see
• 38:46
  that.
• 38:46
  Right.
• 38:46
  Or
• 38:46
  jamming
• 38:47
  as
• 38:47
  many
• 38:47
  houses
• 38:47
  they
• 38:47
  can
• 38:48
  in
• 38:48
  a
• 38:48
  small
• 38:48
  lot.
• 38:49
  And
• 38:49
  so
• 38:50
  it's
• 38:50
  making
• 38:50
  us
• 38:50
  rethink
• 38:51
  product
• 38:51
  design
• 38:52
  and
• 38:52
  even
• 38:52
  how
• 38:52
  this,
• 38:53
  what
• 38:53
  an
• 38:53
  outdoor
• 38:53
  living
• 38:54
  space
• 38:54
  means.
• 38:54
  We're
• 38:54
  looking
• 38:55
  at
• 38:55
  it
• 38:55
  through
• 38:55
  the
• 38:55
  lens
• 38:55
  of
• 38:56
  an
• 38:56
  outdoor
• 38:56
  living
• 38:56
  space
• 38:56
  might
• 38:57
  be
• 38:57
  someone's
• 38:57
  balcony
• 38:58
  living
• 38:58
  in
• 38:58
  an
• 38:58
  apartment
• 38:59
  building
• 38:59
  all
• 38:59
  the
• 38:59
  way
• 39:00
  down
• 39:00
  to
• 39:00
  10,
• 39:01
  10
• 39:01
  by
• 39:01
  20
• 39:02
  foot
• 39:02
  area
• 39:02
  that's
• 39:02
  off
• 39:02
  the
• 39:03
  side
• 39:03
  of
• 39:03
  an
• 39:03
  alley
• 39:03
  or
• 39:04
  on
• 39:04
  the
• 39:04
  side
• 39:05
  yard
• 39:05
  or
• 39:06
  the
• 39:06
  front
• 39:06
  yard.
• 39:07
  And
• 39:07
  so
• 39:08
  we
• 39:08
  also
• 39:08
  then
• 39:09
  are
• 39:09
  thinking
• 39:09
  if
• 39:10
  you
• 39:10
  have
• 39:10
  a
• 39:10
  very
• 39:10
  narrow
• 39:10
  space,
• 39:11
  for
• 39:11
  instance
• 39:12
  a
• 39:12
  12
• 39:12
  inch
• 39:12
  deep
• 39:13
  block
• 39:13
  doesn't
• 39:13
  work.
• 39:13
  You
• 39:14
  need
• 39:14
  something
• 39:14
  narrower.
• 39:15
  And
• 39:15
  so
• 39:15
  what
• 39:16
  does
• 39:16
  that
• 39:16
  look
• 39:16
  like?
• 39:16
  And
• 39:17
  so
• 39:17
  our
• 39:17
  products,
• 39:17
  like
• 39:17
  our
• 39:18
  Art
• 39:18
  forms
• 39:18
  modular
• 39:19
  panel
• 39:19
  system
• 39:19
  were
• 39:20
  born
• 39:20
  out
• 39:20
  of
• 39:20
  that
• 39:20
  idea
• 39:21
  is
• 39:22
  taking
• 39:22
  a
• 39:23
  relatively
• 39:23
  thin
• 39:23
  product
• 39:24
  and
• 39:24
  basically
• 39:24
  bolting
• 39:25
  it
• 39:25
  together
• 39:25
  with
• 39:26
  stainless
• 39:26
  hardware
• 39:27
  to
• 39:28
  alleviate
• 39:28
  the
• 39:28
  need
• 39:29
  to
• 39:29
  build
• 39:29
  a
• 39:30
  really
• 39:30
  heavy
• 39:31
  gravity
• 39:32
  based
• 39:32
  planter
• 39:33
  seat,
• 39:33
  wall,
• 39:33
  bench,
• 39:34
  kitchen,
• 39:35
  that
• 39:35
  type
• 39:35
  of
• 39:35
  thing.
• 39:35
  So
• 39:36
  all
• 39:36
  these
• 39:36
  things
• 39:36
  cross
• 39:36
  over.
• 39:37
  But
• 39:37
  yeah,
• 39:38
  I
• 39:38
  mean
• 39:38
  looking,
• 39:39
  stepping
• 39:39
  back,
• 39:39
  going,
• 39:40
  what
• 39:40
  is
• 39:40
  an
• 39:40
  outdoor
• 39:41
  living
• 39:41
  space
• 39:41
  consist
• 39:42
  of?
• 39:42
  Where
• 39:42
  are
• 39:42
  they
• 39:42
  at?
• 39:43
  We
• 39:43
  also
• 39:44
  see
• 39:44
  a
• 39:44
  big
• 39:44
  shift
• 39:44
  towards
• 39:45
  multifamily.
• 39:46
  People
• 39:46
  live
• 39:47
  in
• 39:47
  multifamily,
• 39:48
  whether
• 39:48
  condos
• 39:48
  or
• 39:49
  apartment
• 39:49
  complexes
• 39:50
  still
• 39:50
  want
• 39:50
  an
• 39:50
  outdoor
• 39:50
  living
• 39:51
  space.
• 39:51
  Right.
• 39:51
  So
• 39:52
  those
• 39:52
  are
• 39:52
  more
• 39:52
  community
• 39:53
  oriented,
• 39:53
  but
• 39:54
  really
• 39:54
  does
• 39:54
  affect
• 39:54
  product
• 39:55
  design
• 39:55
  and
• 39:55
  overall
• 39:56
  design.
• 39:56
  And
• 39:56
  we're
• 39:57
  looking
• 39:57
  through
• 39:58
  consistently
• 39:58
  through
• 39:59
  that
• 39:59
  lens
• 39:59
  as
• 39:59
  well
• 40:00
  as
• 40:00
  the
• 40:00
  commercial
• 40:01
  piece.
• 40:01
  Yeah,
• 40:02
  it's
• 40:02
  interesting
• 40:02
  and
• 40:03
  to
• 40:03
  jump
• 40:04
  on
• 40:04
  that.
• 40:04
  My
• 40:04
  girlfriend's
• 40:05
  got
• 40:06
  a
• 40:06
  beautiful
• 40:06
  townhouse
• 40:07
  and
• 40:07
  it's
• 40:07
  72
• 40:08
  inches
• 40:08
  of
• 40:08
  depth
• 40:09
  off
• 40:09
  the
• 40:09
  back
• 40:09
  wall
• 40:10
  back
• 40:10
  there
• 40:10
  of
• 40:11
  space.
• 40:11
  It's
• 40:12
  nice
• 40:12
  and
• 40:12
  wide,
• 40:12
  there's
• 40:13
  a
• 40:13
  lot
• 40:13
  of
• 40:13
  space
• 40:13
  there,
• 40:14
  but
• 40:14
  there's
• 40:14
  a
• 40:15
  six
• 40:15
  foot
• 40:15
  fence
• 40:16
  that
• 40:16
  you're
• 40:16
  in
• 40:16
  a
• 40:16
  box.
• 40:17
  So
• 40:18
  design
• 40:18
  wise,
• 40:18
  how
• 40:19
  do
• 40:19
  you
• 40:19
  make
• 40:19
  this
• 40:20
  look
• 40:21
  with
• 40:22
  a
• 40:22
  limit
• 40:22
  of
• 40:23
  space
• 40:23
  and
• 40:23
  access?
• 40:24
  Yeah,
• 40:24
  no,
• 40:24
  that's
• 40:25
  for
• 40:25
  sure.
• 40:25
  That's
• 40:25
  exactly
• 40:26
  where
• 40:26
  we're
• 40:26
  at.
• 40:26
  And
• 40:26
  it's
• 40:26
  funny
• 40:27
  because
• 40:28
  I
• 40:28
  think
• 40:28
  even
• 40:28
  a
• 40:28
  lot
• 40:29
  of
• 40:29
  the
• 40:29
  contracting
• 40:29
  and
• 40:30
  design
• 40:30
  community
• 40:30
  will
• 40:30
  just
• 40:31
  write
• 40:31
  off
• 40:31
  certain
• 40:31
  areas
• 40:32
  like
• 40:32
  that.
• 40:32
  Well,
• 40:33
  they
• 40:33
  don't
• 40:33
  have
• 40:33
  the
• 40:34
  half
• 40:34
  acre,
• 40:34
  one
• 40:34
  acre
• 40:35
  lot
• 40:35
  that
• 40:35
  we
• 40:35
  were
• 40:35
  used
• 40:35
  to.
• 40:36
  But
• 40:37
  those
• 40:37
  same
• 40:37
  people,
• 40:38
  a
• 40:38
  lot
• 40:38
  of
• 40:38
  cases,
• 40:39
  I
• 40:39
  would
• 40:39
  say
• 40:39
  they
• 40:40
  have
• 40:40
  the
• 40:40
  disposable
• 40:40
  income
• 40:41
  to
• 40:41
  do
• 40:41
  it.
• 40:41
  They
• 40:41
  have
• 40:41
  the
• 40:42
  will
• 40:42
  to
• 40:42
  do
• 40:42
  it.
• 40:43
  And
• 40:43
  so
• 40:44
  you
• 40:44
  may
• 40:44
  need
• 40:44
  to
• 40:44
  get
• 40:44
  creative
• 40:45
  with
• 40:45
  using
• 40:45
  angular
• 40:46
  design.
• 40:46
  Maybe
• 40:47
  there's
• 40:47
  built
• 40:47
  ins,
• 40:47
  there's
• 40:48
  vertical
• 40:48
  gardens,
• 40:49
  there's
• 40:49
  trellises.
• 40:50
  Right.
• 40:50
  You're
• 40:51
  creating
• 40:51
  a
• 40:51
  hybrid
• 40:52
  space,
• 40:52
  perhaps.
• 40:53
  Or
• 40:54
  maybe
• 40:54
  you
• 40:54
  need
• 40:54
  to
• 40:54
  shift
• 40:55
  the
• 40:55
  whole
• 40:55
  outdoor
• 40:55
  living
• 40:55
  space
• 40:56
  to
• 40:56
  the
• 40:56
  front
• 40:56
  yard.
• 40:56
  And
• 40:57
  you're
• 40:57
  seeing
• 40:57
  this
• 40:57
  happen
• 40:58
  with
• 40:58
  a
• 40:58
  lot
• 40:58
  of
• 40:58
  new
• 40:58
  construction,
• 40:59
  which
• 41:00
  was
• 41:00
  the
• 41:00
  original
• 41:01
  outdoor
• 41:01
  living
• 41:01
  space,
• 41:02
  by
• 41:02
  the
• 41:02
  way,
• 41:02
  if
• 41:02
  you
• 41:02
  go
• 41:02
  back
• 41:03
  far
• 41:03
  enough.
• 41:04
  Amen.
• 41:05
  But
• 41:05
  what
• 41:06
  is
• 41:06
  interesting.
• 41:06
  Cause
• 41:06
  I
• 41:06
  think
• 41:07
  you
• 41:07
  can
• 41:08
  still
• 41:08
  achieve
• 41:08
  a
• 41:08
  lot
• 41:09
  in
• 41:09
  a
• 41:09
  very
• 41:09
  small
• 41:09
  space.
• 41:10
  And
• 41:10
  I
• 41:11
  always,
• 41:11
  I
• 41:11
  relate
• 41:11
  it
• 41:12
  back
• 41:12
  to
• 41:12
  indoor.
• 41:12
  If
• 41:13
  you
• 41:13
  imagine
• 41:14
  if
• 41:14
  I
• 41:14
  had
• 41:14
  a
• 41:14
  10
• 41:14
  by
• 41:15
  12
• 41:15
  foot
• 41:16
  dining
• 41:16
  room,
• 41:17
  for
• 41:17
  instance,
• 41:17
  like,
• 41:17
  that's
• 41:17
  a
• 41:18
  pretty
• 41:18
  decent
• 41:18
  sized
• 41:19
  dining
• 41:19
  room,
• 41:20
  right?
• 41:20
  Sure.
• 41:20
  But
• 41:21
  a
• 41:21
  lot
• 41:21
  of
• 41:21
  people
• 41:21
  in
• 41:21
  their
• 41:21
  mind
• 41:22
  are
• 41:22
  like,
• 41:22
  I
• 41:22
  don't
• 41:22
  have
• 41:22
  enough
• 41:22
  space
• 41:23
  when
• 41:23
  they
• 41:23
  have
• 41:23
  a
• 41:23
  detached
• 41:24
  garage.
• 41:24
  And
• 41:25
  you
• 41:25
  actually
• 41:25
  measure
• 41:25
  it,
• 41:26
  it's
• 41:26
  25ft
• 41:27
  from
• 41:27
  the
• 41:27
  house
• 41:28
  and
• 41:28
  the
• 41:28
  lot's
• 41:28
  50ft
• 41:29
  wide.
• 41:29
  You're
• 41:29
  like,
• 41:29
  you
• 41:29
  realize
• 41:30
  you've
• 41:30
  got
• 41:30
  over
• 41:30
  a
• 41:30
  thousand
• 41:31
  square
• 41:31
  feet
• 41:31
  back
• 41:31
  here,
• 41:32
  and
• 41:32
  they
• 41:33
  don't
• 41:33
  because
• 41:33
  they're
• 41:33
  thinking
• 41:34
  their
• 41:34
  mind
• 41:34
  of
• 41:34
  this
• 41:34
  big,
• 41:35
  beautiful,
• 41:36
  expansive
• 41:36
  yard.
• 41:37
  But
• 41:38
  when
• 41:38
  you
• 41:38
  start
• 41:38
  designing
• 41:38
  it,
• 41:39
  you're
• 41:39
  like,
• 41:39
  wow,
• 41:40
  I
• 41:40
  can
• 41:40
  really
• 41:40
  do
• 41:40
  a
• 41:40
  lot
• 41:40
  in
• 41:41
  this
• 41:41
  space.
• 41:41
  So
• 41:42
  part
• 41:42
  of
• 41:42
  it
• 41:42
  is
• 41:43
  on
• 41:43
  us,
• 41:43
  I
• 41:43
  think,
• 41:43
  to
• 41:44
  inspire
• 41:44
  and
• 41:44
  show
• 41:45
  people
• 41:45
  that
• 41:46
  through
• 41:46
  our
• 41:46
  marketing,
• 41:47
  through
• 41:47
  some
• 41:47
  of
• 41:47
  the
• 41:47
  design
• 41:48
  tools
• 41:48
  we
• 41:48
  have,
• 41:48
  through
• 41:49
  companies
• 41:49
  like
• 41:49
  Yardsen.
• 41:50
  And
• 41:50
  we're
• 41:50
  doing
• 41:51
  that.
• 41:51
  But
• 41:51
  I
• 41:51
  think
• 41:51
  it's
• 41:52
  just
• 41:52
  a
• 41:52
  shifting
• 41:53
  mindset
• 41:54
  of
• 41:54
  how
• 41:54
  do
• 41:54
  we
• 41:54
  meet
• 41:54
  the
• 41:55
  consumer,
• 41:55
  where
• 41:55
  they're
• 41:55
  at
• 41:56
  today
• 41:56
  with
• 41:56
  the
• 41:56
  current
• 41:57
  trends
• 41:57
  that
• 41:58
  are
• 41:58
  happening
• 41:58
  with
• 41:58
  construction
• 41:59
  overall.
• 41:59
  And
• 42:00
  that's
• 42:00
  a
• 42:00
  big
• 42:00
  one
• 42:00
  that
• 42:00
  we're
• 42:01
  focused
• 42:01
  on,
• 42:02
  man.
• 42:02
  No
• 42:02
  kidding.
• 42:03
  And
• 42:03
  it's
• 42:03
  so
• 42:03
  amazing
• 42:04
  when
• 42:04
  people
• 42:04
  get
• 42:05
  the
• 42:05
  chance
• 42:05
  to
• 42:05
  rethink.
• 42:06
  And
• 42:06
  again,
• 42:06
  that's
• 42:07
  where
• 42:07
  bringing
• 42:07
  that
• 42:07
  professional
• 42:08
  is.
• 42:08
  Because
• 42:08
  sometimes
• 42:09
  as
• 42:09
  homeowners
• 42:10
  and
• 42:10
  even
• 42:10
  as
• 42:10
  contractors
• 42:11
  that
• 42:11
  are
• 42:11
  just
• 42:12
  out
• 42:12
  there
• 42:12
  that
• 42:12
  are
• 42:12
  maybe
• 42:13
  doing
• 42:13
  that
• 42:14
  remodel,
• 42:14
  but
• 42:15
  need
• 42:15
  to
• 42:16
  address
• 42:16
  the
• 42:16
  outdoor
• 42:17
  space
• 42:17
  as
• 42:17
  part
• 42:17
  of
• 42:18
  the
• 42:18
  project,
• 42:19
  sometimes
• 42:19
  people
• 42:20
  are.
• 42:20
  You're
• 42:20
  standing
• 42:21
  in
• 42:21
  the
• 42:21
  middle
• 42:21
  of
• 42:21
  the
• 42:21
  forest
• 42:21
  and
• 42:21
  you
• 42:21
  can't
• 42:22
  see
• 42:22
  the
• 42:22
  trees
• 42:23
  sometimes
• 42:23
  bringing
• 42:24
  that
• 42:24
  fresh
• 42:25
  eyed
• 42:25
  professional
• 42:26
  that
• 42:26
  does
• 42:26
  this
• 42:26
  for
• 42:26
  a
• 42:27
  living
• 42:27
  is
• 42:28
  the
• 42:28
  smartest
• 42:28
  way
• 42:28
  to
• 42:28
  get
• 42:29
  that
• 42:29
  project
• 42:29
  off
• 42:29
  the
• 42:30
  ground.
• 42:30
  And
• 42:31
  planning
• 42:31
  is
• 42:31
  always
• 42:32
  the
• 42:32
  key
• 42:32
  to
• 42:32
  success
• 42:32
  with
• 42:33
  any
• 42:33
  outdoor
• 42:33
  project
• 42:34
  from
• 42:34
  where
• 42:34
  I
• 42:34
  come
• 42:34
  from.
• 42:35
  Yeah.
• 42:35
  No,
• 42:35
  100%.
• 42:36
  Yeah.
• 42:37
  So,
• 42:37
  Joe,
• 42:37
  what
• 42:37
  have
• 42:38
  we
• 42:38
  not
• 42:38
  missed?
• 42:38
  Because
• 42:39
  we're
• 42:39
  running
• 42:39
  out
• 42:39
  of
• 42:39
  time.
• 42:40
  What
• 42:40
  have
• 42:40
  we
• 42:40
  not
• 42:40
  talked
• 42:40
  on
• 42:41
  here?
• 42:41
  What
• 42:41
  have
• 42:41
  we
• 42:41
  missed?
• 42:41
  Again?
• 42:42
  We
• 42:42
  could
• 42:42
  go
• 42:42
  for
• 42:42
  hours
• 42:43
  and
• 42:43
  go
• 42:44
  down
• 42:44
  some
• 42:44
  pretty
• 42:44
  deep
• 42:45
  rabbit
• 42:45
  holes,
• 42:45
  but
• 42:46
  what
• 42:46
  else
• 42:46
  have
• 42:46
  we
• 42:46
  not
• 42:47
  talked
• 42:47
  about?
• 42:47
  Real
• 42:47
  quick
• 42:47
  as
• 42:48
  we
• 42:48
  wrap
• 42:48
  this
• 42:48
  up.
• 42:49
  Yeah,
• 42:49
  we
• 42:49
  covered
• 42:49
  a
• 42:50
  lot
• 42:50
  of
• 42:50
  ground,
• 42:50
  literally.
• 42:51
  And
• 42:52
  I
• 42:53
  would
• 42:53
  just
• 42:53
  reiterate
• 42:54
  from
• 42:54
  our
• 42:54
  perspective
• 42:55
  again,
• 42:55
  that
• 42:55
  I
• 42:56
  think,
• 42:57
  and
• 42:57
  this
• 42:57
  is
• 42:57
  a
• 42:57
  worldwide
• 42:58
  macro
• 42:58
  trend
• 42:59
  with
• 42:59
  all
• 42:59
  construction
• 43:00
  is
• 43:00
  this
• 43:00
  idea
• 43:01
  of
• 43:02
  this
• 43:02
  nature
• 43:03
  in
• 43:03
  built
• 43:03
  world
• 43:03
  connection.
• 43:04
  And
• 43:04
  how
• 43:05
  do
• 43:05
  we
• 43:05
  redesign
• 43:06
  the
• 43:06
  places
• 43:07
  we
• 43:07
  live,
• 43:08
  work
• 43:08
  and
• 43:08
  play
• 43:08
  to
• 43:09
  better
• 43:10
  foster
• 43:11
  that
• 43:11
  connection
• 43:11
  with
• 43:11
  the
• 43:12
  outdoor
• 43:12
  world?
• 43:12
  And
• 43:13
  again,
• 43:13
  a
• 43:13
  lot
• 43:13
  of
• 43:13
  it's
• 43:14
  visual,
• 43:14
  a
• 43:14
  lot
• 43:14
  of
• 43:14
  it's
• 43:15
  connection,
• 43:15
  a
• 43:15
  lot
• 43:15
  of
• 43:15
  it's
• 43:16
  functional
• 43:16
  and
• 43:16
  design
• 43:17
  related.
• 43:17
  It's
• 43:17
  all
• 43:17
  related.
• 43:18
  But
• 43:19
  I
• 43:19
  would
• 43:19
  say
• 43:19
  for
• 43:19
  those
• 43:20
  who
• 43:20
  are
• 43:20
  listening,
• 43:20
  if
• 43:21
  you're
• 43:21
  in
• 43:21
  this
• 43:21
  space
• 43:21
  and
• 43:22
  you're
• 43:22
  a
• 43:22
  designer,
• 43:22
  you're
• 43:22
  a
• 43:23
  builder,
• 43:23
  you're
• 43:23
  a
• 43:23
  homeowner,
• 43:24
  dig
• 43:24
  in
• 43:25
  and
• 43:25
  do
• 43:25
  some
• 43:25
  research.
• 43:25
  And
• 43:26
  we're
• 43:26
  going
• 43:26
  to
• 43:26
  be
• 43:26
  publishing
• 43:27
  some
• 43:27
  things
• 43:28
  throughout
• 43:28
  the
• 43:28
  coming
• 43:29
  year
• 43:29
  on
• 43:29
  some
• 43:29
  of
• 43:30
  the
• 43:30
  data
• 43:30
  that's
• 43:30
  out
• 43:30
  there.
• 43:31
  But
• 43:31
  I
• 43:32
  can't
• 43:32
  stress
• 43:32
  enough.
• 43:33
  I
• 43:33
  think
• 43:34
  the
• 43:34
  outdoor
• 43:34
  space
• 43:35
  is
• 43:35
  an
• 43:35
  antidote
• 43:35
  for
• 43:36
  a
• 43:36
  lot
• 43:36
  of
• 43:36
  the
• 43:36
  issues
• 43:37
  that
• 43:37
  plague
• 43:38
  our
• 43:38
  society
• 43:38
  in
• 43:38
  a
• 43:39
  way.
• 43:39
  Right.
• 43:39
  Where
• 43:40
  I
• 43:40
  think
• 43:40
  we
• 43:40
  all
• 43:40
  know
• 43:41
  we're
• 43:41
  addicted
• 43:41
  to
• 43:41
  screens.
• 43:42
  We
• 43:42
  all
• 43:42
  know
• 43:42
  that
• 43:43
  certain
• 43:43
  things
• 43:43
  aren't
• 43:44
  quite
• 43:44
  right.
• 43:44
  We're
• 43:44
  all,
• 43:45
  I
• 43:45
  think,
• 43:45
  longing
• 43:46
  for
• 43:46
  authentic
• 43:47
  experiences
• 43:48
  and
• 43:48
  relationships
• 43:49
  and
• 43:49
  natural
• 43:50
  experiences.
• 43:51
  And
• 43:52
  the
• 43:52
  spaces
• 43:52
  that
• 43:53
  we
• 43:53
  build
• 43:53
  and
• 43:54
  whether
• 43:54
  we
• 43:54
  really
• 43:55
  understand
• 43:55
  it
• 43:55
  or
• 43:55
  not,
• 43:56
  are
• 43:56
  creating
• 43:57
  a
• 43:57
  vehicle
• 43:58
  for
• 43:58
  people
• 43:58
  to
• 43:58
  have
• 43:58
  those
• 43:59
  experiences.
• 43:59
  And
• 44:00
  if
• 44:00
  you
• 44:00
  start
• 44:00
  from
• 44:01
  there,
• 44:01
  man,
• 44:02
  I
• 44:02
  just
• 44:02
  think
• 44:02
  the
• 44:02
  whole
• 44:02
  narrative
• 44:03
  changes
• 44:03
  and
• 44:04
  I
• 44:04
  only
• 44:04
  see
• 44:05
  upside
• 44:06
  from
• 44:06
  this
• 44:06
  point
• 44:06
  on
• 44:07
  for
• 44:07
  our
• 44:07
  industry
• 44:07
  and
• 44:08
  even
• 44:08
  beyond.
• 44:08
  And
• 44:08
  so
• 44:09
  I
• 44:09
  think
• 44:09
  understanding
• 44:10
  that
• 44:10
  learning
• 44:11
  that
• 44:12
  and
• 44:12
  then
• 44:12
  sharing
• 44:12
  that
• 44:12
  with
• 44:13
  your
• 44:13
  clients
• 44:13
  is
• 44:13
  absolutely
• 44:14
  huge
• 44:14
  and
• 44:14
  will
• 44:14
  be
• 44:15
  transformational.
• 44:16
  Amen.
• 44:17
  And
• 44:17
  if
• 44:17
  people
• 44:17
  are
• 44:17
  going
• 44:18
  to
• 44:18
  spend
• 44:18
  some
• 44:18
  screen
• 44:19
  time,
• 44:19
  they
• 44:19
  should
• 44:19
  be
• 44:19
  on
• 44:19
  your
• 44:20
  website
• 44:20
  designing
• 44:20
  and
• 44:21
  planning
• 44:21
  that
• 44:21
  space
• 44:22
  so
• 44:22
  they
• 44:22
  can
• 44:22
  escape
• 44:22
  it.
• 44:23
  So
• 44:23
  where's
• 44:23
  the
• 44:23
  best
• 44:24
  place
• 44:24
  for
• 44:24
  them
• 44:24
  to
• 44:24
  do
• 44:25
  that?
• 44:25
  Yeah,
• 44:26
  I
• 44:26
  would
• 44:26
  say
• 44:26
  probably
• 44:27
  for
• 44:27
  out
• 44:27
  there
• 44:27
  living
• 44:28
  in
• 44:28
  General,
• 44:28
  I'd
• 44:28
  say
• 44:28
  belgard.com,
• 44:30
  moistureshield.com
• 44:31
  or
• 44:32
  you
• 44:32
  can
• 44:32
  go
• 44:32
  right
• 44:32
  to
• 44:33
  oldcastleapg
• 44:35
  as
• 44:35
  well.com
• 44:36
  and
• 44:36
  you
• 44:36
  can
• 44:36
  see
• 44:36
  all
• 44:37
  of
• 44:37
  our
• 44:37
  brands
• 44:37
  on
• 44:37
  there.
• 44:37
  Yeah,
• 44:38
  that's
• 44:38
  a
• 44:38
  great
• 44:38
  website,
• 44:39
  by
• 44:39
  the
• 44:39
  way.
• 44:39
  It's
• 44:39
  got
• 44:39
  a
• 44:39
  great
• 44:40
  umbrella
• 44:40
  to
• 44:40
  really
• 44:41
  guide
• 44:41
  you
• 44:41
  into
• 44:41
  the
• 44:42
  products
• 44:42
  you
• 44:42
  might
• 44:42
  be
• 44:42
  looking
• 44:43
  at.
• 44:43
  Oldcastle
• 44:44
  apg.
• 44:44
  That's
• 44:44
  a
• 44:45
  great
• 44:45
  place
• 44:45
  to
• 44:45
  find
• 44:45
  stuff.
• 44:46
  Yeah,
• 44:46
  absolutely.
• 44:46
  To
• 44:46
  link
• 44:47
  into
• 44:47
  other
• 44:47

• 44:47
  and
• 44:48
  you
• 44:48
  can
• 44:48
  go
• 44:48
  down
• 44:48
  that
• 44:48
  rabbit
• 44:48
  hole
• 44:49
  and
• 44:49
  see
• 44:49
  all
• 44:49
  the
• 44:49
  stuff
• 44:50
  you
• 44:50
  never
• 44:50
  knew
• 44:50

• 44:50
  made.
• 44:51
  Exactly.
• 44:52
  Joe,
• 44:53
  thanks
• 44:53
  for
• 44:53

• 44:54
  brother.
• 44:54
  I
• 44:54
  appreciate
• 44:55

  yourself
• 44:57
  that's
• 44:57
  got
• 44:58
  the
• 44:58

• 44:58
  and

  can
• 45:01
  make
• 45:02
  the
• 45:02
  right
